- 0:28Don't invite Kool-Aid.
- 0:31That's our show.
- 0:32Don't invite the Kool-Aid and we invite you
- 0:33on a journey where we take a look
- 0:35at what's happening in our culture.
- 0:37And we examine things that may be Kool-Aid
- 0:39with two tests.
- 0:41That is two litmus tests we use to
- 0:44determine truth from lies, Kool-Aid that could damage
- 0:47you pretty severely versus the truth.
- 0:51And the first litmus test, of course, is
- 0:52the Word of God itself.
- 0:55The Word of God, what our founders call
- 0:57the laws of nature and nature's God.
- 0:59The second litmus test is really the founding
- 1:02documents of our constitutional republic.
- 1:04That's right.
- 1:05We are a republic, not a democracy.
- 1:07Don't believe that lie.
- 1:08That's one of those Kool-Aids out there.
- 1:10But our founding documents, the Declaration of Independence,
- 1:12the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and then
- 1:15of course the subsequent amendments.
- 1:17And when we look at our culture, what's
- 1:19happening here today, we recognize that things are
- 1:22going in not just a little bit off,
- 1:24but going way off the direction that our
- 1:26founders uh designed for us as a constitutional
- 1:28republic.
- 1:30And particularly when we look at what's happening
- 1:32among the young.
- 1:34The younger uh generations have swallowed the Kool-Aid
- 1:36of Marxism by and large.
- 1:39Uh and the issue is how can we
- 1:42reach that younger generation?
- 1:44How can we reach them with the truth
- 1:46of our founders, the truth of God's word,
- 1:48that there is a creator God, that our
- 1:51rights come from him and from him alone.
- 1:53And the only reason, the only purpose for
- 1:55human civil government, as our founder stated clearly
- 1:57in the Declaration of Independence, a reason for
- 1:59human civil government is to protect your God
- 2:01given rights.
- 2:03But we know that Marxism teaches exactly the
- 2:05opposite for every single one of those points
- 2:08I've just made.
- 2:10In fact, it would teach that you have
- 2:12no rights except whatever the government chooses to
- 2:15give you as uh privileges or licenses and
- 2:17what they give, they can surely just as
- 2:19quickly take away.
- 2:22So the big issue for us is how
- 2:24do we reach the next generation with the
- 2:25truth of our founders with the truth of
- 2:27God's word.
- 2:29And uh with me today uh is Hal
- 2:31Shirtliff, the founder of Camp Constitution, a camp
- 2:34that I've been involved with now for I
- 2:36think it's been six years, Hal.
- 2:39Is that right?
- 2:42Uh the scandemic, I guess we called that,
- 2:43right?
- 2:45That's right.
- 2:46And uh this is a wonderful organization and
- 2:48a wonderful week experience.
- 2:51And I want Hal to tell us a
- 2:53little bit about how Camp Constitution got started,
- 2:56what its goals are, and how it is
- 2:58being used to reach that next generation.
- 3:01We're we're so desperately uh in need of
- 3:02reaching.
- 3:04Well, Camp Constitution, I'm the co-founder, which there
- 3:07was three of us that founded it, and
- 3:10um it was right around Christmas time, a
- 3:13little before Christmas of 2020 when it was
- 3:15conceived, and we held our first family camp
- 3:18in 2009, and uh we've we've had what
- 3:21they call Mission Creep.
- 3:24It was just uh a camp, and then
- 3:26as time went on, I'm now full-time since
- 3:292017, and we have year-round activities, but our
- 3:31most important event is the week-long family camp,
- 3:34and this year's camp will be our 18th
- 3:36camp, annual camp, and it runs from July
- 3:3912th to the 17th.
- 3:42That's Sunday afternoon.
- 3:43Uh registry we start at 4 p.m.
- 3:45when people come in and um and um
- 3:47and then we end Friday the 17th, right
- 3:50after breakfast.
- 3:52We start cleaning up and uh clearing out.
- 3:55And it's uh it's a wonderful program.
- 3:57It's a Christian, it's not a Bible camp,
- 3:59but it's a Christian centered camp.
- 4:02That's why we let we get we guys
- 4:03like you come around and teach, you know.
- 4:05Um so it's not a denominational camp.
- 4:08Like and there's nothing wrong with those types
- 4:09of camps, but ours is a little different
- 4:11that way.
- 4:12And we when we say family, we mean
- 4:14family, and because when people hear the word
- 4:17camp, everybody it seems like there's ten different
- 4:19definitions for what they think of a camp.
- 4:22They think you're sleeping in the woods, they
- 4:24think it's a hotel, and everything in between,
- 4:26you know, everything in between.
- 4:29But we use a beautiful facility.
- 4:30It's called Singing Hills Christian Camp in Plainfield,
- 4:32New Hampshire, and if you're interested, you can
- 4:34just visit their website.
- 4:37Uh and we rent the facility for the
- 4:38week.
- 4:39It's again Singing Hills Christian Camp in Plainfield,
- 4:41New Hampshire.
- 4:43The camp is uh an hour north of
- 4:45Concord, the Capitol, and uh very close to
- 4:48the uh Vermont border.
- 4:51And a beautiful setting, just uh you know
- 4:52the beautiful setting.
- 4:54And we use lodges.
- 4:56So we're we're sleeping in rooms, and um
- 4:59if most families will have their own room
- 5:02in some cases, if the families have adolescents,
- 5:05they might bunk in with a girls of
- 5:08boobs, excuse me.
- 5:11Yeah.
- 5:12And then uh sometimes uh mom and dad
- 5:13have their own room for themselves.
- 5:15So we also have unaccompanied minors and um
- 5:17unaccompanied adults.
- 5:20So we have adults that like to participate,
- 5:23and we have uh usually between 12 to
- 5:2617 that'd be the unaccompanied uh camper age.
- 5:30Uh if it's a younger than that, you
- 5:31know, if they live nearby, because they tell
- 5:33the parents, well, you're the ones that's gonna
- 5:35get homesick.
- 5:37So you're driving ten hours or flying in.
- 5:40You may want to give that a second
- 5:41thought.
- 5:42Uh and we have a great program.
- 5:44We have a program really for all ages.
- 5:46Uh start actually starting at four.
- 5:48From fourth.
- 5:50We have we call excuse me.
- 5:53We call it the patriot camp.
- 5:55Uh-huh.
- 5:55For the for the really young kids, yeah.
- 5:57Yeah, four to seven, and then eight to
- 5:59twelve, and then the older ones would be
- 6:01uh with the adults, and that's of course
- 6:04where you teach.
- 6:06And uh we start off the the Sunday,
- 6:08we register, uh, you know, we usually they're
- 6:11all registered, they just get the room assignments,
- 6:13and then we have orientation and campfire.
- 6:16And the first full day, you'll have uh
- 6:18in the morning we have an optional run
- 6:19or swim or both.
- 6:21That's at 6:30.
- 6:23And then we have uh morning devotions at
- 6:24the flagpole, we do a flag raising.
- 6:26And if they're not familiar with the proper
- 6:29flag etiquette, we teach them how to do
- 6:31the flag raising, and usually somebody's playing uh
- 6:33revelée on the bugle.
- 6:35Yeah, they live in that real camp setting,
- 6:36you know.
- 6:38And uh, and then we'll have a meal,
- 6:39of course, and then three classes in the
- 6:40morning.
- 6:42That would be for the older uh uh
- 6:45teenagers and adults, each one lasting 45 minutes.
- 6:48Start by I would like to thank some
- 6:50of the best people of their in their
- 6:52uh of their fields, and uh if not
- 6:54the country uh around uh of the world,
- 6:56including someone like you.
- 6:58Uh yeah, oh yeah, and a privilege to
- 7:00Yeah, oh yeah, it's a good thing.
- 7:00teach these past six years, and uh, you
- 7:01It's been a privilege to teach these past
- 7:03know, the thing that I appreciate so much
- 7:03six years, and uh, you know, the thing
- 7:05is uh that the students, you know, you
- 7:06that I appreciate so much is uh the
- 7:08might think students sitting through three lectures in
- 7:08the students, you know, you might think students
- 7:10the morning like that uh might be antsy
- 7:10sitting through three lectures in the morning like
- 7:12or bored, but no, uh I've always seen
- 7:13that uh might be antsy or bored, but
- 7:15a great deal of interaction and and enthusiasm
- 7:15no, uh I've always seen a great deal
- 7:17and interest.
- 7:17of interaction and and enthusiasm and interest.
- 7:20Uh these these kids are really hungry and
- 7:20Uh these these kids are really hungry and
- 7:22hungry for for the truth that uh that
- 7:22hungry for for the truth that uh that
- 7:24they're learning here at Camp Constitution.
- 7:24they're learning here at Camp Constitution.
- 7:26Well, and so we have classes dealing with
- 7:26Well, and so we have classes dealing with
- 7:28the
- 7:30the Constitution, dealing with America's godly heritage.
- 7:33One of our instructors is uh one of
- 7:36the nation's top trainers when it comes to
- 7:38uh active shooters, uh Keith Hansen of um
- 7:41Critical Dynamics.
- 7:43So he does a wonderful class on the
- 7:44right to keep bear arms.
- 7:46You've taught that class over the years as
- 7:47well.
- 7:48And you know, we have one, you taught
- 7:50one about the biblical basis for the self-defense.
- 7:53That's correct.
- 7:53Yeah, the second amendment comes comes out of
- 7:55the word of God.
- 7:56Yeah.
- 7:57All of our classes uh that we we
- 7:58videotape, almost all of them, and they're available
- 8:00on our YouTube channel.
- 8:02You can go back to I think 2010.
- 8:04Uh oh, YouTube's come a long way where
- 8:06you used to have to chop everything up
- 8:07in 15 minutes.
- 8:09Now you can just uh put the whole
- 8:10class up there.
- 8:12So we have uh Reverend Stevie Kraft.
- 8:15He's our camp chaplain, and his focus, he
- 8:18tends to focus on America's godly heritage, the
- 8:21faith of the founders, and as a uh
- 8:23he happens to be black, so he focuses
- 8:26a lot on issues, you know, the uh
- 8:29the the artificially created racism, the racism and
- 8:31the DEI issue.
- 8:34When I say artificially created, racism is something
- 8:36that's going to be with us because of
- 8:38the fall of man.
- 8:40But there are people on the left that
- 8:42have uh exploited the issue and have made
- 8:44it uh really a full-time endeavor to promote
- 8:47race hatred amongst the it seems it seems
- 8:49when the left really have run out of
- 8:51any good arguments uh then they always bring
- 8:53out the race card, you know.
- 8:56And if they can't answer the argument that
- 8:58you're presenting, then they'll call you a racist,
- 9:00regardless of any evidence to the contrary.
- 9:03Not only that, they're having trouble manufacturing they
- 9:05actually have to manufacture racism.
- 9:07It's hard to find any real racism now.
- 9:09In fact, there was a uh a spook
- 9:11put up by um uh what's the name
- 9:13of the group there?
- 9:15They do the Christian-based um Babylon B.
- 9:17Babylon B, yeah.
- 9:18They had this guy dressed up in a
- 9:20clan outfit and a black woman from the
- 9:22uh Southern Poverty Law Center giving him money.
- 9:24And he's saying, Oh, she he said it's
- 9:27really hard to promote racism these days.
- 9:29I mean, they actually had a call of
- 9:30news, say uh uh uh a pull on
- 9:32the door, you know, the the race car
- 9:34driver was claiming that someone put a noose
- 9:35in his garage.
- 9:37Oh, yes, I remember that.
- 9:39Ridiculous thing.
- 9:40And uh and of course, uh Southern Public
- 9:42Law Center has been a funder of the
- 9:44rape, which is something that many of us
- 9:46uh suspected.
- 9:48So that's some of the Reverend Kraft teachers.
- 9:50Then we have uh Professor Willie Soon, who's
- 9:52one of the top climate scientists, I call
- 9:55him a climate realist in the world, and
- 9:57he presents scientific basis of refuting climate change
- 9:59and all the other numerous scares over the
- 10:02years, you know, whether whether it was um
- 10:04what was a scare, it was uh ozone
- 10:06holes, yeah.
- 10:09And uh before before that, I guess we
- 10:11were all going to freeze to death, we're
- 10:12all gonna turn into political.
- 10:14Now we're all gonna burn to death.
- 10:17Oh, yeah, and then there was the uh
- 10:18we're all gonna get skin can.
- 10:20Yeah, they also hope it was skin cancer.
- 10:22Then there was um uh the trees were
- 10:24all dying because of uh what was it?
- 10:26Um exactly.
- 10:28Well, well, acid rain.
- 10:29Yeah, acid rain.
- 10:30That was another story.
- 10:31Right, acid rain was another one.
- 10:32Oh, it just all the uh they're always
- 10:33every every week there's another article.
- 10:35Oh, climate change is gonna kill the tulips.
- 10:38Climate change is gonna kill the toads, climate
- 10:39change is gonna do this and that.
- 10:41Well, you know what?
- 10:42I kind of like it when it gets
- 10:43warm, you know, because I don't have to
- 10:44have the heat on.
- 10:45I'm in New Hampshire and it gets warm.
- 10:46Right, right.
- 10:46So you appreciate the summer.
- 10:49It was in the 40s this morning, so
- 10:51it was still a little chilly this morning.
- 10:52So yeah, Willie Willie Soon is a great
- 10:55treasure because he blows apart so and and
- 10:57using you know scientific research, not uh any
- 11:00theories, these are facts that he presents that
- 11:02says they're lying to you.
- 11:05They're lying to you about global warming.
- 11:07They're lying to you about climate change and
- 11:08on and on the lies go.
- 11:10But uh excellent job of debunking all of
- 11:12those lies.
- 11:14Catherine White is one of uh one of
- 11:17uh another she's she's an expert on the
- 11:20Constitution, and she's with a group uh her
- 11:22group is called the Constitution Decoded.
- 11:25And then Alex Newman, who is a real
- 11:27n another national treasure.
- 11:28Alex is an author, uh he speaks, travels
- 11:30around the country.
- 11:32He's on he's got a program with several
- 11:34networks he's on.
- 11:35He was on Mike Lindell's uh network, but
- 11:38I think he's don't know if he's still
- 11:40on them enough, but he's on several um
- 11:42and uh Liberty Sentinel is his uh that's
- 11:44his uh tell his program.
- 11:47And he actually does some live uh remotes
- 11:49right at the right at camp, you know.
- 11:50I says, Well, you got you got a
- 11:52lot of built-in guests right here, you know.
- 11:54You could do probably 24-7 if you could
- 11:55with all the with all the talent we
- 11:57have at our camp.
- 11:59Uh and and then we bring in sometimes
- 12:01we'll bring him, we'll bring in a guest
- 12:03speaker or sometimes a local person, um, you
- 12:05know, who might be uh uh expert in
- 12:07some whatever field.
- 12:09Uh Mary Gribar is gonna be here, uh
- 12:12be a camp, but she's not gonna present.
- 12:14She just wants to take it in.
- 12:16Uh she's the author of several books, uh,
- 12:18one of them debunking Howard Zinn.
- 12:20You got a new book out debunking FDR.
- 12:24Oh, I tell you what, it's a lot
- 12:24of people.
- 12:26Well, that's a good controversial one.
- 12:30Well, you know what's interesting.
- 12:31I uh little aside, I got I was
- 12:34uh at a homeschool show in Massachusetts very
- 12:37recently, and the Gideons had a table there.
- 12:40And um so I reminded me of the
- 12:42Gideon's pocket bible that they uh gave out
- 12:45to the soldiers and sailors, uh service members
- 12:47in general in World War II.
- 12:50And I had a copy of a 42
- 12:54vintage with Frankwood Roosevelt writing a foreword, strongly
- 12:57encouraging the reading of the Bible.
- 13:01Wow.
- 13:04That makes him a Christian nationalist, right?
- 13:06Oh, I guess uh well, I mean I've
- 13:08been called the Christian answer.
- 13:10I have to reconsider that title because he
- 13:12was more of a he was more of
- 13:13an atheist internationalist.
- 13:15Right, right.
- 13:16But he realized but he realized the culture
- 13:18was very Christian, and so he put that
- 13:20in.
- 13:21So I got a copy of it.
- 13:23I got a I got a night early
- 13:2541 before Pearl Harbor.
- 13:27So and he talks about uh the Bible
- 13:29as being such an important book.
- 13:31And uh I said, well, he was the
- 13:33president of the United States putting this information,
- 13:35and he was no had no trouble uh
- 13:36with the uh you know putting this in
- 13:38the Gideon's Bible.
- 13:40So that's that that's well, so wait a
- 13:41minute.
- 13:42Now you make reference to God and you
- 13:44learn nationalists, uh I guess I'm one then.
- 13:47Whatever that, you know, what they have their
- 13:48own definition.
- 13:50Yeah, and you wonder what's uh you know,
- 13:51what's their alternative?
- 13:53Uh internationalist atheists, you know.
- 13:56Well, that's Karl Marx and Lenin and Stalin
- 13:58and uh Xi Jinping and all these other
- 14:00Ping and all these other totalitarians who don't
- 14:00totalitarians who don't believe anybody has any God
- 14:02believe anybody has any God given rights.
- 14:02given rights.
- 14:04Uh that's not a very good alternative, even
- 14:05That's not a very good alternative, even if
- 14:06if a person's not a Christian, right?
- 14:06a person's not a Christian.
- 14:09Or a Christian internationalist, which is some of
- 14:09Or Christian internationalists, which is some of these
- 14:11these uh these uh I call them uh
- 14:11uh these uh I call them uh uh
- 14:13uh heretical churches.
- 14:13heretical churches.
- 14:16Uh they may call them woke churches, but
- 14:16Uh they may call them woke churches, but
- 14:18you find a rainbow flag in front of
- 14:18you're finding a rainbow flag in front of
- 14:20your church, uh it's some serious isn't just
- 14:20your church, uh some serious this isn't just
- 14:22woke, this is subscribing.
- 14:22woke, this is some serious uh biblical issues
- 14:24That's right.
- 14:25here.
- 14:27Apostasy where they have rejected.
- 14:27Apostasy where they have rejected.
- 14:30That's the word I was looking for.
- 14:31So we're gonna have to we're gonna have
- 14:33to go to a break here, but after
- 14:36we come back from the break, Halan wants
- 14:38you to talk to tell us more about
- 14:40uh what impact we're seeing Camp Constitution have
- 14:42uh with the students and and what do
- 14:44we hear back from the parents, and uh
- 14:46we want to tell people as well how
- 14:48they can uh sign up and join us
- 14:50for that beautiful week in the middle of
- 14:52July uh there at Camp Constitution.

- 16:33and metabolism.
- 16:36Terzepatide helps with food portion reduction and satiety,

- 17:46Well, did you see Google quietly updated its
- 17:49AI principles removing its pledge not to use
- 17:52AI for weapons or surveillance?
- 17:56A promise they agreed to in 2018.
- 17:58Well, the American people have seen Google's track
- 18:00record.
- 18:03Is Google an untrustworthy player in the AI
- 18:05race.
- 18:11Now is our time, my fellows.
- 18:15America outloud.
- 18:17Liberty and justice for all.
- 18:24All right, coming back for the break here
- 18:25at Don't Invive Toolate.
- 18:27I'm your host, Master David Whitney.
- 18:29I served as a senior instructor at Institute
- 18:31on the Constitution.
- 18:33And uh uh our website is the AmericanView.com,
- 18:36where you can learn a great deal about
- 18:39what our founders believed about law and government.
- 18:42But this this today, we're we're interviewing Hal
- 18:44Shirtlith, the co-founder of Camp Constitution, and uh
- 18:47Hal, you've been telling us some of the
- 18:49people you uh have lined up.
- 18:52I remember the year where we brought in
- 18:54a presidential candidate of all things.
- 18:56That's right.
- 18:58Stop speech of uh Vec uh Ramaswamy.
- 19:00Of course, he didn't go on to actually
- 19:02win the primary, but he has played a
- 19:04significant role.
- 19:05I know initially he was part of Doge,
- 19:07and I think last I heard he was
- 19:09running for the governorship of Ohio and so
- 19:11on, but uh, you know, it's it's quite
- 19:13an honor to have somebody from the national
- 19:15stage uh in in the political sense, uh,
- 19:17come and share Camp Constitution.
- 19:20Do you recall some of the incidents as
- 19:22why he chose to come to Camp Constitution?
- 19:24Well, I actually met him because living in
- 19:26New Hampshire, we're the first primary in the
- 19:28country, so it's very easy to meet the
- 19:30candidates.
- 19:32I met him in the next town from
- 19:33me.
- 19:34I'm in Alta, I met him in Wolfboro,
- 19:36it was in March of what, twenty three,
- 19:38maybe I think that's right.
- 19:40Yeah.
- 19:41Twenty-four.
- 19:41I know a time goes by.
- 19:43Um and he uh it was very interesting.
- 19:46He said uh that we need to abolish
- 19:47the Department of Education.
- 19:49I said, Oh, this guy's speaking my language.
- 19:52So uh a friend of mine worked for
- 19:53him, and that's how uh he was able
- 19:55to come to camp.
- 19:57And we you know, we don't endorse candidates.
- 19:59Uh, we I we said that um we
- 20:01told we don't endorse anybody, but we're giving
- 20:04the campers a chance to vet a legitimate
- 20:06presidential candidate.
- 20:09And he came and it was kind of
- 20:10exciting.
- 20:11He had uh Fox News was there, I
- 20:13think ABC and CBS was there.
- 20:16And he gave a presentation, and I think
- 20:19it was about almost four almost an hour,
- 20:21the QA session, and we told the parents
- 20:23guess the youngsters who ask questions.
- 20:26Yeah.
- 20:27You know, the parents asked the question.
- 20:29So one one young man, uh a guy
- 20:31from Queens, uh, he said, uh, what's the
- 20:33purpose of government?
- 20:35That was a question.
- 20:36What a great question.
- 20:38But you know, the and you see you
- 20:40you answered that question, and when you introduced
- 20:42the show, it's to protect uh you know,
- 20:44protect the rights of uh its citizens, right?
- 20:47God give a simple answer.
- 20:48Uh they gave uh kind of a long-winded,
- 20:50I thought, well, if I was creating him,
- 20:52I'd give him half credit, you know.
- 20:54Yeah.
- 20:55It wasn't what we're looking for, but it
- 20:56was okay.
- 20:58W what I was so pleased with, Hal
- 21:00The students who, by the way, that week
- 21:00is the students who, by the way, that
- 21:02I have been teaching on the most important
- 21:02week I have been teaching on the most
- 21:04question you can ask any political candidate is
- 21:04important question you can ask any political candidate
- 21:06this what's the purpose of government?
- 21:06is this what's the purpose of government?
- 21:08And that the answer must be the specific
- 21:08And that the answer must be the specific
- 21:10answer given in the Declaration of Independence to
- 21:10answer given in the Declaration of Independence to
- 21:12protect our God given rights, because there is
- 21:12protect our God given rights because there is
- 21:14a creator guide, our rights come from him,
- 21:14a creator God, our rights come from him,
- 21:17and that's the only purpose of government.
- 21:17and that's the only purpose of government.
- 21:19So Hal, I was so pleased with that
- 21:19So Hal, I was so pleased with that
- 21:20student.
- 21:20student.
- 21:21Not only did he ask the right question,
- 21:21Not only did he ask the right question,
- 21:23he didn't let Vivek Brahmaswami off the hook
- 21:23he didn't let Vivek Brahmaswamy off the hook
- 21:26when the question he came was kind of
- 21:26when the question he came up.
- 21:28he came back and said, No, Vivek.
- 21:28He came back and said, No, Vivek.
- 21:30Well, I don't think he used his first
- 21:31name.
- 21:31No, Mr.
- 21:32Ramaswamy, it is to protect God given rights.
- 21:36And Vebec went in response, oh yes, oh
- 21:38yes, of course, you know, he read the
- 21:40declaration of independence, but it really wasn't in
- 21:43his direct thinking.
- 21:45So the thing that blessed me so much
- 21:47is there we have a high school student.
- 21:49I if I remember has been coming to
- 21:51camp constitution for a number of years.
- 21:52Yes, for a few years, yeah.
- 21:54Yes, so this high school student was schooling
- 21:56a presidential candidate on the form of government
- 21:59and the purpose of government that we have,
- 22:01and that to me was was just the
- 22:04highlight of that that whole week.
- 22:06Well, we get you asking about feedback we
- 22:08get from campers and parents.
- 22:11Um I remember one uh young man, he
- 22:13was from Ohio, and we brought in the
- 22:16speaker was uh uh talking about Uncle Sam,
- 22:18the real Uncle Sam, the historical figure, Uncle
- 22:21Sam Wilson.
- 22:23And we actually went to his house in
- 22:25uh at the time was in nearby.
- 22:27We were our camp was in uh a
- 22:29different part of New Hampshire, a little bit
- 22:31south, about an hour and a half south
- 22:32of where we are now, and we took
- 22:34a trip to the house.
- 22:36And so he's at he's in his school,
- 22:37and he he went to a public school,
- 22:39I believe.
- 22:40And most of our campers are from homeschool
- 22:42or but we do have some from public
- 22:43school.
- 22:45And we always tell them if you're going
- 22:47to correct the teacher, do it very politely,
- 22:48don't go up there and say you're a
- 22:50dummy or you don't know anything, you know,
- 22:52you have to be very polite.
- 22:53Uh even do it after sometimes.
- 22:56So anyway, the teacher was talking about his
- 22:57uncle, he said, Well, that's he's not a
- 22:58real person.
- 23:00And he put his hand up, he says,
- 23:01Well, uh, as a matter of fact, he
- 23:03is.
- 23:04No, no, no, he's make believe he's simple.
- 23:06And so he gets on his phone and
- 23:07he says, Oh my goodness, we didn't learn
- 23:09that.
- 23:12So I thought that was kind of a
- 23:13fun thing.
- 23:15But yeah, every so uh, you know, we'll
- 23:17we'll get feedback, and sometimes it's years later.
- 23:19You know, they'll say, What uh you know,
- 23:21well, what a great impact.
- 23:22Professor Willie Soon, whose family comes to his
- 23:25boys and daughter, and he just raves about
- 23:27the influence, the very positive influence.
- 23:30The the youngest son wanted to learn how
- 23:32to play the bugle so he could play
- 23:34taps and literally at camp, but now he's
- 23:36an accomplished uh he's an accomplished musician, you
- 23:38know.
- 23:41So there's a lot of positive, I mean,
- 23:43not just that, but uh other but I
- 23:46think the best thing is that an example
- 23:48of this young man politely confronting a candidate
- 23:51for the presidency.
- 23:53And that's how we we don't want you
- 23:55know, having all this information is wonderful, uh,
- 23:58but it's idea of sharing it, you know.
- 24:00So they go back to their family back
- 24:02home and whatever circles they're in, and they
- 24:04share the information.
- 24:07And uh I love it when I have
- 24:08people ask me, oh, I need to I
- 24:10need to do uh term paper.
- 24:11What can you have?
- 24:12Oh man, what uh it's a question of
- 24:14I have more you know, we have more
- 24:16resources than you others need, but please uh
- 24:18you know, if it's if it's history, if
- 24:20it's uh the topics that we cover, you
- 24:22see.
- 24:25So after it's thrilling to see that hunger,
- 24:27yeah.
- 24:31Exactly.
- 24:31So it's funny with the academic uh issues.
- 24:34We also have things that you find at
- 24:37most camps, we have uh swimming and hiking,
- 24:39uh basketball net, a gaga pit.
- 24:42Those are something younger people.
- 24:44My my youngest daughter, when we were looking
- 24:46for a facility uh back in nineteen, she
- 24:48said it have to have a gaga pit.
- 24:51No gaga pit, no camp.
- 24:52And so you're young, you know exactly what
- 24:53that is.
- 24:55Uh we also have chess tournaments, uh, volleyball
- 24:57tournaments, wiffle ball, and we take it we
- 25:00take an optional field trip every Wednesday, the
- 25:03week Wednesday at camp.
- 25:06Uh last year it was a Calvin Coolidge
- 25:09homestead, which is and that's a that's a
- 25:11beautiful site and a very interesting history there
- 25:13because for me, at least, Hal, uh uh
- 25:16of the presidents of the 20th century, he
- 25:18was the best president because he used his
- 25:21V veto pen again and again and again.
- 25:23Anytime he saw some piece of legislation that
- 25:26he deemed unconstitutional, veto, veto, veto.
- 25:30And so the historians hate him and they
- 25:31you know they denigrate him, but I think
- 25:33he was the best president we had in
- 25:34the 20th century.
- 25:36You actually you were teaching about when the
- 25:39American Indians became full citizens, it was Calvin
- 25:41Coolidge, and we get to the homestead is
- 25:44a picture of Calvin in full Indian headdress
- 25:46he's been an honorary chief, signing, you know,
- 25:49with with some local some Indians.
- 25:51I think they were Sue Indians.
- 25:53So, you know, that was your lesson being
- 25:54reinforced.
- 25:55Yeah.
- 25:55But what people say about how come you
- 25:57like Calvin Coolidge?
- 25:59What did he ever do?
- 25:59I say exactly.
- 26:01Yeah, we want a president.
- 26:03How do I like the bad stuff and
- 26:06won't do unconstitutional stuff?
- 26:08Yeah, that's the kind of presidents we need,
- 26:09right?
- 26:11This is when people complain about, oh, my
- 26:13congressman hasn't cast a vote.
- 26:15He he's missed 80% of his votes.
- 26:17Well, if he's gonna vote the wrong way,
- 26:18why don't he why don't you miss all
- 26:20of them?
- 26:23Anyway, so for people who are interested in
- 26:26uh attending or learning more about us and
- 26:29have any questions, first you can visit our
- 26:31website, AMP Constitution.net on the home page.
- 26:34You can uh there's a place for an
- 26:36application, uh, and you can pay to our
- 26:39PayPal, or you can pay with a check
- 26:41and mail it to the address, which is
- 26:43my address on the application, 100 down payment
- 26:45uh for each person.
- 26:47Now we are we we are a charitable
- 26:50trust, so we're not making money here.
- 26:52We're not supposed to make money, we're not
- 26:54supposed to lose a whole lot of money
- 26:55too, but we're not supposed to make money.
- 26:57We charge right now, we charge for uh
- 26:59from 13 and over $300 for the whole
- 27:01week.
- 27:04That's well, that's a bargain.
- 27:06That's you know, lodging meals and some handouts.
- 27:09We have a camp picture, which is an
- 27:11optional thing to buy.
- 27:12We have a bookstore and snack bar, that's
- 27:14all, you know, but but the basics we
- 27:16cover all that.
- 27:18And if you're uh 12 and under, it's
- 27:20uh 200, and three and under, of course,
- 27:22with parents.
- 27:24Don't don't drop off your baby and the
- 27:27back of the it's free, you know.
- 27:30And we do have uh tuition, or I
- 27:32shouldn't say camp fee help available.
- 27:34For example, we had uh we have a
- 27:37homeschool family or family of ten, you know,
- 27:39so we just say, hey, pay what you
- 27:41can, and we'll cover the rest.
- 27:44And and you know, hell to be that's
- 27:46one of the beautiful things about this is
- 27:48uh it's a family camp, kids of all
- 27:51ages, parents of all ages, senior citizens.
- 27:53Uh it's the full range uh rather than
- 27:55off of what you uh see at a
- 27:57summer camp, is the kids go off with
- 27:59uh only kids of their own age, and
- 28:00Kids go off with uh only kids of
- 28:01they're not going to interact with uh any
- 28:02their own age, and they're not going to
- 28:03older or younger, not not here at Camp
- 28:04interact with uh any older or younger, not
- 28:05Constitution.
- 28:06not here at Camp Constitution.
- 28:08I love that.
- 28:08I love that.
- 28:09Yeah, and well, I was involved with a
- 28:09Yeah, and well, I was involved with a
- 28:11camp that was uh and we sort of
- 28:11camp that was uh and we sort of
- 28:13modeled to some extent where it was teenagers
- 28:13modeled to some extent where it was teenagers
- 28:15and some of the parents, but this is
- 28:15and some of the parents.
- 28:17the problem.
- 28:18But this is the problem.
- 28:19A lot of parents have children that are
- 28:19A lot of parents have children that are
- 28:22under five, six, seven, or even younger, and
- 28:22under five, six, seven or even younger, and
- 28:25they have teenagers.
- 28:25they have teenagers.
- 28:28So they would bring the dad.
- 28:28So they would bring the dad would come
- 28:29with the teenagers.
- 28:31Meanwhile, mom's home with the little ones and
- 28:33her helpers, her teenage helpers are at camp
- 28:35having a great time.
- 28:38They come back home, and we had a
- 28:39great time.
- 28:40But mom didn't have mom's a in a
- 28:41hot summer.
- 28:43She's changing now.
- 28:44She uh so now we take mom.
- 28:46Now she may have to still change diapers,
- 28:47but you don't have to cook for the
- 28:48whole week.
- 28:50And you're meeting a lot of like-minded ladies,
- 28:52you know, and we actually have a program
- 28:53for the ladies, they get together.
- 28:55We do a uh my wife usually does
- 28:57an arts and crafts things for them.
- 28:58And as a result of that, we started
- 29:01a ladies' retreat, uh, just ended a few
- 29:03weekends ago, and so they get together uh
- 29:05outside of the the camp program, you know,
- 29:08the week-long camp, and uh they have a
- 29:10great time, great fellowship.
- 29:12And what's and the other important thing too
- 29:14is friends.
- 29:16The most important thing, other than accepting Christ
- 29:18as your savior, uh when it comes to
- 29:21your children, is the people they associate with,
- 29:23because bad company will just one bad mistake
- 29:26can ruin someone's life, you know.
- 29:28Uh so um I like to think that
- 29:31the children that come to our camp are
- 29:33the ones that I want my children, uh,
- 29:35my youngest is 21.
- 29:38She went through the camp program, uh, and
- 29:40they make lifelong friendships.
- 29:42Now, let me tell you about my daughter,
- 29:43uh Emily.
- 29:44When the Roby Wade decision came out, uh
- 29:47the leak came out, she was in a
- 29:49program, she was running at the uh we
- 29:51homeschooled, but she was running track at the
- 29:54local school, not inside outside track.
- 29:57And she's she was making such a wonderful
- 29:59defense of the right to life.
- 30:02And I said, Wow, he makes better.
- 30:06He's making better points than I would.
- 30:08I'm not even going to interrupt.
- 30:09I mean, so she's learning something, you know.
- 30:12And then she's I can't I have to
- 30:13say she got a lot of it at
- 30:15at Camp Constitution, if not through me directly
- 30:16through some of our instructors or what have
- 30:18you.
- 30:19So and my wife, too, by the way.
- 30:21Yeah, so this is just uh amazing.
- 30:23So it's an important it's important to know
- 30:26the facts, as I mentioned earlier, but then
- 30:28you have to defend uh or make uh
- 30:31you know uh we in Christianity it's called
- 30:33apologetics, you know, defending the faith.
- 30:36Uh also uh we haven't we did a
- 30:39class on logic a few years ago, but
- 30:41I don't know if I'm I'm working on
- 30:44a uh program because it's so important to
- 30:46identify when people are using fallacious reasoning to
- 30:49make sense and that's often what the left
- 30:51is doing in all of their arguments, right?
- 30:55The ultimate one is calling you a name,
- 30:56you know.
- 30:58Yeah, right.
- 30:59When they've lost the argument, you know they've
- 31:00lost the argument because then they just heard
- 31:02the name calling it.
- 31:04They call you names, that's just the O.
- 31:06But I actually looked up that's if there's
- 31:08a term called fallacy.
- 31:11And there really isn't, so I'm gonna copyright
- 31:12that.
- 31:14You know, it's it's under the ad hominem,
- 31:15you know, it's in that same like a
- 31:16subdivision.
- 31:18Is that if you're if you're for uh
- 31:20secure borders, you're a xenophobe, you know.
- 31:23Yeah.
- 31:23Uh, you know, if uh so whatever phobia
- 31:25is, there's all kinds of you know, the
- 31:28fill the fill in the blank, you know.
- 31:30Uh so anyway, yeah.
- 31:32So go to our website, Camp Constitution.net, and
- 31:34uh uh and is is the space uh
- 31:36still available so people could sign up with
- 31:38July.
- 31:41Yeah, we yeah, we have space available uh
- 31:43at this point.
- 31:45Because it begins Sunday, July uh 12th.
- 31:48It starts July 12th, Sunday, that's right.
- 31:51And we can take registrations up until even
- 31:53a few days before camp, but we always
- 31:55can't guarantee you a room.
- 31:57Now, one year, a couple of years ago,
- 31:59we had a lot more than we ever
- 32:00expect.
- 32:01We had like 160.
- 32:02Oh, that was after the Tucker Carlson interview,
- 32:04right?
- 32:06Yes, really soon got on Tucker Carlson.
- 32:09Um the interview was in 23 in December.
- 32:12They aired it in January of 24, and
- 32:15Willie gave it was like a minute and
- 32:18a half, uh unscripted infomercial from the heart.
- 32:22And Willie has uh he's from Indonesia, he's
- 32:25Chinese uh national from Indonesia, so obviously speaks
- 32:27with an accent, and he's really funny.
- 32:30He was uh he's like, it's a tiny
- 32:31tiny camp.
- 32:33He said, But you have to have to
- 32:34say you have to come.
- 32:35And then he said he said, uh we
- 32:37talk about Jesus, but not all the time,
- 32:39which means he said it's Christian centric, but
- 32:41you know, it's not a Bible camp.
- 32:45And we got, you know, we usually no
- 32:47we usually get maybe fifty to sixty visits
- 32:49on our website a day.
- 32:51It's like a you think of a little
- 32:53neighborhood groceries, uh mom and pop store, right?
- 32:56You know, you get the coach, but all
- 32:57of a sudden I'm looking at the uh
- 32:59you know, the the uh Natalie's done on
- 33:00my with the website.
- 33:02We got like 50,000 views on the way
- 33:05and we got some unsolicited donations, and uh
- 33:07and that's really targeting the market, you know,
- 33:10because when we had our flag case, which
- 33:13we'll uh maybe talk about it another time,
- 33:15uh we got loads of media coverage, but
- 33:18not nearly as much of a response as
- 33:20that one and a half minute infomercial, which
- 33:23you can actually find on our website uh
- 33:25just put in Willie Soon, uh Tucker Carlson,
- 33:28and we don't have the whole interview, but
- 33:31we have that little segment.
- 33:33And the website again five minute segment of
- 33:37the the existence of God, proof of God.
- 33:40Wow.
- 33:40Yeah, yeah.
- 33:41And you know, Willie was when we first
- 33:43met him, he was uh well, he wasn't
- 33:45a believer, but I think uh hanging out
- 33:47with us, uh you're either gonna be a
- 33:49believer or you stop hanging out with us.
- 33:52Yes, that's how it works, right?
- 33:55Oh, it's it's wonderful.
- 33:56Well, uh the website again is Camp Constitution.net.
- 34:00Yes, right.
- 34:02And again, if you want to visit you
- 34:04could go to our web our YouTube channel,
- 34:06which you can access from the home uh
- 34:08page, Camp Constitution, and you can see our
- 34:10classes and activity over the years.
- 34:12You know, and we have a lot of,
- 34:14you know, after the the classes are fun.
- 34:16Imagine how there are uh you know, people
- 34:17instructors like you make it fun, a lot
- 34:19of hands-on.
- 34:21I know one year you brought your musket,
- 34:23and I'm gonna bring five brown best, but
- 34:24I got good.
- 34:26Yes.
- 34:27And it's a it's a replica, it's a
- 34:28firing replica.
- 34:29We also have uh marksmanship, which is an
- 34:31optional thing.
- 34:32We do shooting, we have Christian self-defense optional
- 34:34in the afternoon.
- 34:37So we have we it's like a three-wing
- 34:38circus of stuff going on all the time,
- 34:40you know.
- 34:42Yeah, no time, no time for the kids
- 34:43to be bored.
- 34:44There's uh some of the activities going on.
- 34:48I have my son and a few of
- 34:49his buddies at an event, and they said,
- 34:51We're bored.
- 34:52Oh, yeah, I want to be event organized.
- 34:54They said, These guys are bored.
- 34:55Oh, well, hex, you know, they got these
- 34:57t shirts on that says volunteer.
- 34:58Yeah, they're not bored now.
- 35:00Yeah.
- 35:03And uh we we've got to go to
- 35:04We've got to go to a break here
- 35:04a break here in just a moment, and
- 35:05in just a moment, and when we come
- 35:06when we come back, we'll talk about uh
- 35:07back, we'll talk about uh how people can
- 35:07how people can get involved who don't have
- 35:09get involved who don't have kids, because you
- 35:09kids, because you might say, Well, you know,
- 35:10might say, well, you know, this sounds like
- 35:10this sounds like it's a program just for
- 35:12it's a program just for kids and all
- 35:12kids and all we'll we'll do that after
- 35:13we'll we'll do that after the break.
- 35:14the break.
- 35:15I want to remind you that uh we
- 35:15I want to remind you that uh we
- 35:18here at Don't Imbibe the Kool-Aid are bringing
- 35:18here at Don't Imbibe the Kool-Aid are bringing
- 35:20two litmus tests by which to test every
- 35:20two litmus tests by which to test every
- 35:23truth claim that we hear in our culture.
- 35:23truth claim that we hear in our culture.
- 35:25And many, many truth claims are pushed out
- 35:25And many, many truth claims are pushed out
- 35:27at you every single day, and the key
- 35:27at you every single day.
- 35:28is.
- 35:29And the key is how do you test
- 35:30whether they're true or whether they're uh the
- 35:31Kool-Aid?
- 35:33Don't imbibe the Kool-Aid.
- 35:34And so those two litmus tests that we
- 35:36are speaking of are first of all the
- 35:38Word of God.
- 35:39The Bible is the supreme law of the
- 35:40universe.
- 35:42Our founders called it laws of nature, and
- 35:44nature's God, and we need to test every
- 35:46truth claim by that standard to discover whether
- 35:48it it actually fits with the laws of
- 35:51the universe.
- 35:53Uh so if uh you know, you tried
- 35:55to uh balance your checkbook, but you believe
- 35:57the lie that two plus two equals five,
- 35:58you're gonna have a real problem with your
- 36:00checkbook.
- 36:02So that's the first standard.
- 36:03The Bible is the word of God.
- 36:04The second standard, of course, is our founding
- 36:06documents, the declaration, the constitution, the Bill of
- 36:09Rights, uh, and subsequent amendments.
- 36:11So we're here on America Out Loud Talk
- 36:14Radio, airing on iHeartRadio Network, but you can
- 36:17get all kinds of uh uh platforms, Apple,
- 36:20Spotify, Pandora, TuneIn, iHeart.
- 36:23Uh that you can listen to the podcast,
- 36:24and uh we'll come back from break in
- 36:26just a moment.
- 36:27We wouldn't go a day without washing our
- 36:29hands, brushing our teeth, and washing our nose.
- 36:32Well, wait, we wash our nose.
- 36:34Yes, the number one place where bacteria, viruses,
- 36:36and pollen enter the body is through the
- 36:38nose.
- 36:39So the average person breathes over 23,000 times
- 36:41a day.
- 36:43That's 23,000 opportunities for bacteria, viruses, and irritants
- 36:45to get into your nose and make you
- 36:47sick.
- 36:49For an extra layer of protection, wash your
- 36:51nose with clear.
- 36:53That is clear, X-L-E-A-R.
- 36:56Clear's drug-free nasal spray features xylitol, an ingredient
- 36:59proven to block adhesion of many nasty bacteria
- 37:03and viruses, and effectively clean, not just rinse
- 37:06like a saline, but wash your nose.
- 37:09Clear nasal spray quickly alleviates congestion, opens your
- 37:11airway, and ensures your body's natural defenses are
- 37:14strong.

- 38:48All right, we're back from the break here
- 38:50on Don't Invibe the Constitution.
- 38:52Don't imbibe the Kool-Aid that imbibe the Constitution
- 38:54and the Word of God as I should
- 38:56say as a follow-up to I'm your host,
- 38:58Pastor David Whitney serving as senior instructor at
- 39:00Institute on the Constitution.
- 39:02And uh the website that gives you many,
- 39:05many resources on our founder's view of law
- 39:07and government is the Americanview.com.
- 39:10Well, today we're interviewing Hal Shirtlith, a co-founder
- 39:12of Camp Constitution.
- 39:15We're talking about the impact that it makes
- 39:17on the lives of students who study uh
- 39:20what we say is the founder's view of
- 39:22law and government, that American view of law
- 39:24and government, and understand many things about the
- 39:27lies that they're being pushed that are being
- 39:29pushed at them, the lies of climate change
- 39:32and the you know, the lies that um
- 39:34uh that we have billions and billions of
- 39:36years of evolution uh and the lies that
- 39:39would reject what our founders crafted and call
- 39:41it uh democracy when we are not at
- 39:44all a democracy, we're a constitutional republic.
- 39:46Uh and uh as we're talking with Hal,
- 39:49it's uh so encouraging to see the difference
- 39:51this program is making in the lives of
- 39:54young people.
- 39:56And so if you have a young person,
- 39:58I have folks in my church that are
- 40:00gonna send their granddaughter uh to camp this
- 40:02year because uh they know that she needs
- 40:05to be exposed to these truths because she's
- 40:07hearing all the lies uh in the culture,
- 40:09all the lies in the classroom.
- 40:11Uh she's getting all this Kool-Aid.
- 40:13Well, she needs to not imbibe the Kool-Aid
- 40:15and discover uh what the truth is.
- 40:18So Hal, tell us a bit about uh
- 40:19how uh adults who may or may not
- 40:21have children, or maybe they've got grandchildren like
- 40:23folks in my church.
- 40:25How can they uh get involved?
- 40:26And and should they themselves consider uh coming
- 40:28to camp as well.
- 40:31Well, our camp is for unaccompanied adults as
- 40:33well.
- 40:35And uh it's funny, one of our unaccompanied
- 40:38adults we put her on staff as uh
- 40:40as an assistant uh uh assistant athletic director,
- 40:43but she was like our one of our
- 40:46most uh active campers, and she's in her
- 40:49fifties, you know.
- 40:52So uh and she had a great she
- 40:53has a great time.
- 40:54We have a couple from Maine that have
- 40:56been coming on a regular basis that they
- 40:58love really soon, and and then they started
- 40:59coming to camp, and there's their wife.
- 41:01I think they're in their 70s and they're
- 41:03singing 20 old-fashioned songs at the campfire, so
- 41:06they really enjoy it.
- 41:08Uh and you can also help us financially.
- 41:11Yes.
- 41:12And uh we we've for years we've said
- 41:14we've never turned away a worthy camper or
- 41:16family for lack of funds.
- 41:19We only did it once, it was because
- 41:20we they approached us a day before camp
- 41:22and we were full.
- 41:24Uh I said, see, we just can't we
- 41:26can't do it this year, uh unfortunately.
- 41:28But um so uh we we've done that
- 41:30because we were able to run that.
- 41:33You know, we uh the camp that the
- 41:35camp we run we lease a facility and
- 41:37we know we have our of course our
- 41:39uh expenses um as well.
- 41:42But we have a lot of people who
- 41:44will donate, gladly donate money uh to help
- 41:46uh make the make a week at camp
- 41:48possible.
- 41:50And also um if you have a nonprofit
- 41:52or a business, I say a nonprofit, a
- 41:55like-minded nonprofit.
- 41:59If you with Southern Puppy Law City, no
- 42:00Southern puppy lawsuit.
- 42:01thanks to us anyway.
- 42:01No things donate to us anyway.
- 42:05By the way, I'm on their hate list.
- 42:05By the way, I'm on their hate list.
- 42:08Uh I was so glad to see that
- 42:08I uh I was so glad to see
- 42:10uh, you know, this lawsuit against them, and
- 42:10that uh, you know, this lawsuit against them,
- 42:11we pray that it it succeeds and penalizes
- 42:11and we pray that it it succeeds and
- 42:13them severely because uh they have put me
- 42:13penalizes them severely because uh they have put
- 42:15and my good friend Michael Peruka and another
- 42:15me and uh my good friend Michael Peruka
- 42:17member of our church are on their hate
- 42:17and another member of our church are on
- 42:19list.
- 42:19their hate list.
- 42:21Uh we're on their hate list too.
- 42:21Uh we're on their hate list too.
- 42:23That's right, yeah.
- 42:23That's right, yeah.
- 42:23So it's a great honor to be on
- 42:23So it's a great honor to be on
- 42:25the hate list of that evil marches for
- 42:25the hate list of that evil Marxist Christianity.
- 42:26the well they're not sending us any money
- 42:28to do to run the camp program, you
- 42:29know.
- 42:32I can we could use a few million,
- 42:33but they're not gonna they're they're not gonna
- 42:34notice.
- 42:36Uh not that I could really take I
- 42:38uh it's really what you call ill gotten
- 42:39gains, because God won't honor that if I
- 42:41take money from so I'm sort of kidding
- 42:42there.
- 42:44Uh yeah, but they have us listed in
- 42:46North Carolina, and a couple of years ago
- 42:48I called them, and at the time our
- 42:50camp manager and co-founder, Charlie Everett, and the
- 42:52reason why it was he he l he
- 42:54lived in Charlotte and he would he would
- 42:56receive the applications, and so they thought we
- 42:59were based in North Carolina, and I called
- 43:01them up.
- 43:03I actually recorded the uh the the call
- 43:05and I said you need to get your
- 43:07hate straight.
- 43:10Uh I know that uh the purpose of
- 43:12this is to get your more triggered people
- 43:14who you know to cause harm and mayhem
- 43:16and what have you against these people.
- 43:19I said he's an elderly man, lives with
- 43:21his wife, and you know, and uh so
- 43:22they never corrected it.
- 43:24So with all the money they're getting from
- 43:26corporate, although I think some of it's drying
- 43:28up, thankfully.
- 43:29Um but they have a they're worth a
- 43:31half a billion dollar, no more than half
- 43:32a billion.
- 43:35Three fourths of a billion dollars.
- 43:37They're really fighting barbecue, right?
- 43:39Yeah, they're they're they're filthy rich and offshore
- 43:41accounts, I understand a lot of that.
- 43:44They're they're not in poverty, at least that
- 43:46group isn't.
- 43:47Yeah, so uh and it is a badge
- 43:49of honor to be listed uh on their
- 43:51hate list because uh the old saying if
- 43:53you if you're catching flat, you're over the
- 43:55target.
- 43:57That's right, yeah.
- 43:59Yeah.
- 43:59So uh and you know, the the one
- 44:01year that we had people from tell us
- 44:04about that, the year that uh some people
- 44:06came from Germany and I forget South Africa
- 44:08that there was a one year that's the
- 44:10Carlton interview took place.
- 44:13Yeah, well, the couple from South Africa are
- 44:15friends with uh Reverend Stevie Kraft and his
- 44:17wife and they go to they're on the
- 44:20missionary field, and that's where the this particular
- 44:22gentleman, he was a uh prison guard in
- 44:24South Africa, I think.
- 44:27What he did for a living, and he
- 44:28has a ministry, so uh so Rev Reverend
- 44:30Craft and he came uh nice people to
- 44:32it.
- 44:34Just uh just love these.
- 44:35And they're not able to make it this
- 44:36year.
- 44:36Um but they were gonna come last year.
- 44:38But the family from uh Germany that may
- 44:40come this year, they happen to hear really
- 44:43soon, and they came.
- 44:45Now they came to be not they spent
- 44:46two months, but they came primarily to be
- 44:48at our camp.
- 44:49Wow.
- 44:50And then we had a family of messianic
- 44:51Jews from Texas.
- 44:53Now, uh if you ask me, you know,
- 44:55where would you find Messianic Jews?
- 44:57I don't know if Texas would be the
- 44:58first place I would go.
- 45:00But I I think the wife was uh
- 45:03Texas Texan and her husband was uh uh
- 45:05uh who was I think from the Northeast
- 45:07and relocated there, and they were raised in
- 45:10that messianic tradition, you know, Christian Jewish converts,
- 45:12converts.
- 45:15And so the three daughters and the wife
- 45:16with our southern with their southern drawls, you
- 45:18know.
- 45:19Single singing uh they were singing a couple
- 45:22of Jewish folk songs at our at our
- 45:24camp at our campfire.
- 45:26By the way, we do have a nightly
- 45:28campfire, and every night uh the campfire, which
- 45:30uh is very popular.
- 45:33We uh we have um you know, we
- 45:35have a song book where we sing some
- 45:37old Christ some of the Christian hymns, uh
- 45:39we have skits, uh horny jokes, people play
- 45:41instruments.
- 45:44I know you're you're famous for those, right?
- 45:46Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 45:47I'm no I'm intimate for those.
- 45:50Oh yeah, but I like your words about
- 45:51Stalin in particular.
- 45:52But anyway, that's it.
- 45:53Well, yeah, I do tell some about some
- 45:54stuff.
- 45:55Well, see, these jokes were told in the
- 45:57Soviet Union, you know, and in fact, um
- 45:59in order to say sane, you have to
- 46:01have a sense of humor.
- 46:03Whether you lived in the Stalin Soviet Union
- 46:05or you lived in uh in the United
- 46:06States, uh you have to uh I'm from
- 46:08Boston, you know.
- 46:10I tell people I'm uh I'm a uh
- 46:13uh constitutionalist in Boston, you know, I say
- 46:16we had a convention of Bostonian constitutionalists at
- 46:19our phone booth, and we still have room
- 46:22for a sense of humor is very important.
- 46:25Yeah, the birthplace of liberty, uhless nobody believes
- 46:28in the principles of liberty there, yeah.
- 46:31Well, I I guess twenty percent.
- 46:33Yeah, and like Lexington, and you uh we
- 46:34have a place and you've been there uh
- 46:36you spent a night there.
- 46:39Wonderful.
- 46:40Yeah, just a few blocks from uh the
- 46:42battle green.
- 46:44And we also do tours because we do
- 46:46year-round activities.
- 46:48Uh it's an informal thing, but if uh
- 46:49people are interested in a walking tour of
- 46:51Boston or Lexington in Concord, reach out to
- 46:53us.
- 46:57I was supposed to give a walking tour
- 46:59of 50 students from a Baptist college in
- 47:01Tennessee in early March.
- 47:05Obviously, with a Christian emphasis.
- 47:07I was looking forward to it, and uh
- 47:09there was some uh a snowy rainy mix,
- 47:11and they had a cancel.
- 47:14I said, No wonder you guys lost a
- 47:15civil war.
- 47:16You have so much cold weather, man.
- 47:20So I'm kidding, but it's hard for 50
- 47:22people at the same time to ditch into
- 47:25duck into a storefront during the rain.
- 47:27So they're gonna reschedule.
- 47:28So we do things like that.
- 47:30And there's a home home church or house
- 47:32church that meets there uh uh in Lexington.
- 47:35Yeah, and on Sunday, which we started during
- 47:37the COVID lockdown.
- 47:39Most of the churches were closed, and uh
- 47:41and it seemed like a lot of the
- 47:42churches.
- 47:43Some of the churches should be shouldn't have
- 47:44been closed, you know, the one with a
- 47:46rainbow flag.
- 47:47They should stay closed.
- 47:49Yeah.
- 47:50Permanently.
- 47:52Yeah, so we we do that.
- 47:53We have a speaker's bureau.
- 47:54We have a presence at various events.
- 47:56So today, uh there's a group in New
- 47:59Hampshire called New Hampshire Education Options, which offers
- 48:02parents options to government schools.
- 48:04So it's uh so we've been uh so
- 48:06it's like a two-hour mini home school show,
- 48:07really.
- 48:09Although there's other vendors, you know, there might
- 48:11be uh uh private schools, Christian schools, and
- 48:14then afternoon activity because you're if you're a
- 48:16homeschooler, you're looking for more uh some activities
- 48:18outside of the home.
- 48:21So you might have um they have like
- 48:23uh uh uh a nature group that you
- 48:25could sign up and bring your children to
- 48:27that, or you know, learn how to ride
- 48:28a horse, learn how to fly a plane,
- 48:30things of that nature.
- 48:32How tell us we offer them.
- 48:35We offer them, of course.
- 48:37But I was gonna mention them those resources
- 48:40that are online, uh Blumenthal uh resources for
- 48:44for homeschoolers, particularly that uh camp constitution.
- 48:47Yes, well uh Sam Blumentfeld was a dear
- 48:50friend of uh of mine, and when he
- 48:52passed in 15, he willed us most of
- 48:54his papers and writings and recordings, and we
- 48:56digitized most of them, not all of them,
- 48:59but most of them.
- 49:00All of them, but most of them, uh,
- 49:01Uh his books, his alpha phonics.
- 49:02his books, his alpha phonics.
- 49:04So you can actually teach not just your
- 49:04So you can actually teach not just your
- 49:06children, but teach yourself if you if you're
- 49:06children, but teach yourself if you if you're
- 49:08having trouble learning how to if you if
- 49:08having trouble learning how to if you if
- 49:11you learned the looksay method, uh you can
- 49:11you learned the looks say method, uh you
- 49:13go out to our website and you'll see
- 49:13can go out to our website and you'll
- 49:15a drop down called the Sam Bloomerfeld Archive,
- 49:15see a drop down called the Sam Blumenfeld
- 49:18click that on, and all we need is
- 49:18archive, click that on, and all we need
- 49:20a user name and an email, and you
- 49:20is a user name and an email, and
- 49:22have unlimited access to Sam's uh archive.
- 49:22you've only had access to Sam's uh archive.
- 49:25You we have classes on uh cursive, uh
- 49:25We have classes on uh cursive, uh basic
- 49:27basic arithmetic.
- 49:29arithmetic, and of course, uh the alpha phonics.
- 49:33And and you were telling last year about
- 49:34the the uh school in Africa that was
- 49:36taking advantage of this.
- 49:39So we had we have a we're you
- 49:42know, we're we're Christian nationalists in international presence.
- 49:45Uh uh, we have a school in uh
- 49:47Zimbabwe, and the principal reached out to us
- 49:50a few years ago, and we donated hard
- 49:52copies of the Alpha Phonics workbook, and I
- 49:54just said to him, Well, the only thing
- 49:57I'd like is maybe just a few pictures
- 49:59of the students uh so we sent us
- 50:01some video as well as pictures of the
- 50:04students, uh they call it the Blumenfeld approach,
- 50:06and they're just raving about it.
- 50:09We also have a lady in South Africa
- 50:11who has a special needs class, they have
- 50:14a different term for it, and she told
- 50:16me for two she inherited the class, and
- 50:18there was been no progress in two years.
- 50:21Most of the people in the class had
- 50:23some kind of neurological, they had uh like
- 50:25an accident there, they were older uh teenagers
- 50:27and young adults, and she said she found
- 50:30our course online, and she says, Well, I'll
- 50:32try this.
- 50:34She didn't think it would work.
- 50:35After two weeks, she said 17 of the
- 50:3819 became proficient readers.
- 50:41Wow.
- 50:42So we got her testimony, and she she
- 50:44and Reverend Crab, we flew her from Johannesburg
- 50:46to Cape Town, where she had a at
- 50:48a program in early January a few years
- 50:51ago where she met Reverend Steve and Edith.
- 50:53And we also have the royal family of
- 50:56the the principality of Bhutan.
- 51:01I thought that was a flight of fluid,
- 51:02but it's not.
- 51:03It's a little, it's north of China, and
- 51:05uh I they say it's the most happiest
- 51:07place, the people are the happiest uh in
- 51:09the world.
- 51:11I I don't know uh if that's the
- 51:13case or not, but the royal family uh
- 51:15has using alpha phonics.
- 51:18They didn't give us any feedback, but I
- 51:20just you know I can see who's downloading
- 51:21the stuff is allowed.
- 51:23Talking about it, but mostly it's people in
- 51:25the United States, and we have homeschools, and
- 51:27you know, not exclusively homeschool.
- 51:29I mean, there's a lot of people who
- 51:31uh children have been taught the look say
- 51:33method, they can't read.
- 51:37Hey, what do we do?
- 51:38And most of these reading programs, they can
- 51:39be very expensive.
- 51:41Yes.
- 51:42And some of them are very good, hooked
- 51:43on phonics.
- 51:44I don't think it's that expensive, but it's
- 51:45very good program.
- 51:46But ours is free.
- 51:47Yes, absolutely.
- 51:50Camp Constitution.net and click on uh the Sam
- 51:52Blueberman archive, so you get you get the
- 51:55um the Alpha Phonics.
- 51:57You also have Sam's, he's got like two
- 52:00or three weeks, if you just play 24-7
- 52:03of audios of his presentations, where he gives
- 52:05a history of government education, what where it
- 52:08began and who's behind it and what happened
- 52:10and why it happened, and of course, the
- 52:13solution get your kids out of those schools.
- 52:16Yeah, yeah.
- 52:17And that's that's blockbuster material hell, because most
- 52:19people don't realize that uh if we're to
- 52:22summarize the two goals, the people who founded
- 52:24public education are they all about uh making
- 52:27America a socialist nation, the opposite of what
- 52:29our founders designed, and then secondly, de Christianizing
- 52:32America.
- 52:34And if you look at the school system,
- 52:36you say it's a huge failure, but not
- 52:39if you look at the actual goal of
- 52:41those who founded in the 1830s and 40s.
- 52:43Uh they founded public education.
- 52:45Before that, everybody was in some form of
- 52:47private school or home school or tutoring.
- 52:50Yeah.
- 52:52Because what you see is what they want.
- 52:55Because the same blumen, if if this is,
- 52:57and I think uh Reverend Rushdone said the
- 52:59same thing.
- 53:01This is something similar.
- 53:03That if they if they were making a
- 53:04mistake, they would have corrected the mistake, but
- 53:06they don't have any intention.
- 53:08So this is what they want.
- 53:10We started the show, we talked about the
- 53:13issue is we've got a whole generation of
- 53:15little socialists that have been trained in the
- 53:17public education, well, public indoctrination system, I think
- 53:20is better called, but they're trained to be
- 53:22Marxist in their thinking.
- 53:25And how do we reach them?
- 53:26How do we change that?
- 53:27And that's the beauty of what Camp Constitution
- 53:29is doing in a kind of immersive uh
- 53:32six days there uh in the beautiful hills
- 53:34of uh uh North uh uh not central,
- 53:37I guess, New Hampshire, an opportunity for them
- 53:39to be exposed to the truth and recognize
- 53:42that a lot of the things they've been
- 53:44fed in the classroom are Kool-Aid.
- 53:47They need to reject and don't imbibe the
- 53:50Kool-Aid instead to buy imbibe the truth of
- 53:52our founders and uh establishing a constitutional republic,
- 53:55not a democracy, where our rights come from
- 53:57God, not from government, and the whole purpose
- 54:00of the system is to protect our God-given
- 54:02rights.
- 54:05And the beauty is to see as you
- 54:07shared, that there is a change happening in
- 54:10the hearts and minds of students, and this
- 54:12is uh what we need uh writ large,
- 54:15and in other words, there's millions of students
- 54:17every year coming off the conveyor belt of
- 54:20the public indoctrination system who are trained Marxists.
- 54:23They really believe Marxism is the best answer
- 54:25for how you organize society, and they have
- 54:27no idea that they've been lied to thoroughly
- 54:30and they've drunken the Kool-Aid.
- 54:32Uh we need to get them out of
- 54:33that.
- 54:34And so uh how what you and the
- 54:37leadership of Camp Constitution are doing is great.
- 54:40Well, as of I'm on a budget committee
- 54:42in my town, and I'm very friendly with
- 54:44the superintendent, and we there's two towns of
- 54:45schools fall under.
- 54:48And he told me that the enrollment in
- 54:50New Hampshire has declined 20% in the last
- 54:52ten years.
- 54:54Praise God.
- 54:55And that's statewide.
- 54:57And that's sort of a trend around the
- 54:58country.
- 54:59The Boston public schools, I think 17%.
- 55:03And I recently had a debate on online
- 55:05debate with a local school teacher, public school
- 55:08teacher who's you know promoting public schools, and
- 55:10I said, and I'm quoting Sam Blumentfeld, that
- 55:13the public schools is a an obsolete sick
- 55:15dinosaur.
- 55:18And then I said that uh you're going
- 55:20the way of the daily newspaper.
- 55:23And the uh C D player, right?
- 55:26And she didn't like it.
- 55:27I said, you guys, you've got a lot
- 55:29of power, you've got a lot of money,
- 55:30and you might win some more elections.
- 55:32I said, but you're going to you're losing.
- 55:34You just once the parents start learning, and
- 55:37that was one the there was two couple
- 55:39of good things that came out of COVID.
- 55:41One of them was parents finally with a
- 55:44little notice of what was going on.
- 55:47Uh, and by the way, the solution isn't
- 55:49to go to your school committee and yell
- 55:51at them and then go home.
- 55:53Is get them out of their clutches.
- 55:55Because, you know, there was a little video
- 55:58of this uh mother coming into the school
- 56:00world and she rips down the rainbow flag
- 56:00To the school world and she rips down
- 56:01the rainbow flag with as a map of
- 56:02with as a map of the world.
- 56:02the world.
- 56:04This is what you're supposed to teach them.
- 56:04This is what you're supposed to teach them.
- 56:05Now that was just uh reenacting.
- 56:05Now that was just uh reenacting.
- 56:08I said, Why would you want somebody with
- 56:08I said, why would you want somebody with
- 56:10that type of worldview teaching your children whether
- 56:10that type of worldview teaching your children whether
- 56:12or not they're flying that flag or not?
- 56:12or not they're flying that flag or not?
- 56:14I said, uh you don't want people, you
- 56:14I said, uh, you don't want people you
- 56:17don't want to expose your child children to
- 56:17don't want to expose your child children to
- 56:19this worldview and this mindset to begin with.
- 56:19this worldview and this mindset to begin with.
- 56:22Get them out.
- 56:22Get them out.
- 56:23Yeah, we can still have info.
- 56:23Yeah, we can still have inflow.
- 56:25I mean, we donate constitutions to public schools.
- 56:25I mean, we donate constitutions to public schools.
- 56:28Uh we do we've donated.
- 56:28Uh we've donated uh this beautiful uh book
- 56:30on the forefathers monument.
- 56:34Yeah.
- 56:37We're gonna have to run here, but thank
- 56:38you so much, Hal, for your time with
- 56:39us.
- 56:41And we encourage you all to check out
- 56:43Camp Constitution.net.
- 56:45This is Don't Invibe the Kool-Aid, where we
- 56:47bring you the truth.
