- Daniel: The world's largest outdoor cocktail party, Clint. Clint: Mm. Ooh. Daniel: Been there many times. It's quite a spectacle this year, first year in Mercedes-Benz. that the parking lots outside are going to be absolutely lined with people set up, having a great Halloween afternoon. Clint, I'm here to tell you that sadly. Clint: Okay. Daniel: The festivities in the parking lot are going Clint: Well that okay. Daniel: to far exceed the quality of football played inside the dome by one of the two teams. Clint, this used to be one of the preeminent rivalries in all of sports. This used to be two Clint: It used to be. Daniel: teams that hated each other, and Clint: yeah. Daniel: Georgia had its run in the 80s. And Clint: Yep, sure. Daniel: And Florida had its run in the nineties and the early two Clint: It flipped. Daniel: thousands. And then Georgia has basically just wiped Florida off the map, Clint. this this rivalry's nothing. Anyway, Clint: No. Daniel: Georgia's about to win their fifth in a row. Maybe no sixth in a row Clint: Yep. Sixth. Daniel: against Florida. Kirby Smart is I think he's like eight out of ten. against Florida in his career. Never really been threatened. Dan Mullen, the only coach that can really threaten him. And y'all got rid of him because he wasn't good enough. And Clint: You ran him out of the Daniel: since since then, how's that been going? How's it been since Dan since old Thunder Dan left Gainesville? They have hired Clint: Interesting. Daniel: back to back sunbelt champions to run their program. And I'm talking about they are performing exactly like a Sunbelt coach should perform in the SEC. Florida's a joke of a program, Clint. Clint: Yep. Daniel: They're not real anymore, Clint: Yeah, yep. Daniel: period. Clint: That's it. That's it. Daniel: Name something that they have done relevant in football since Urban Meyer retired to spend more time with his kids. Clint: You you're I just Florida fan. You you can talk about a whole lot of things. a whole lot of Daniel: He retired. Clint: stuff. You can talk about the nineties, you could talk about the early 2000s. You can't bring up literally anything having to do with integrity, the law, please, for the love of all that you all you monopolize the corner on the worst crimes ever committed by any single f like and And it was everybody was okay because you used to be good at football. And now you're not. There's nothing Daniel: You used to be. Yeah. Yeah. Clint: you have. Zero. Daniel: There's nothing there. No, it's a pathetic garbage can program. Lit I'm gonna say something true, you ready? Clint: I'm ready. Daniel: Vanderbilt has been relevant nationally much more recently than Florida. hold on, can I go another one? Clint: Please. Daniel: Kentucky has been relevant nationally much more recently than Florida. Clint: Tennessee has a closer has a more recent number one ranking in football than you. They were they had more to celebrate than you ever have in the last ten years of football. Daniel: They printed a coffee table book about it. Clint: Literally. Daniel: Vanderbilt, Kentucky. You got blown out by Clint: These are your these are your blue bloods. Daniel: South Carolina and Shane Beamer. Clint: Shane b not beamer. Daniel: Shame B. UCLA has been Clint: Daniel. Daniel: relevant more recently than you do you see how Clint: James Madison has more run of relevant. I'm not exaggerating, James Madison. Daniel: Do you see how in the reese in this day and age of college football anybody can be good except Clint: Lip. Daniel: you, Florida? Except you, it seems. Anybody can be good at football. We're always good these days, but anyone can join us and be good for a bit. Clint: For a hot minute. Daniel: Except you can't at all. it's so good. It's the cocktail Clint: So bad. Daniel: party, Clint. Clint: it's the cocktail party. We're here. We hate Florida. You should hate Florida too. Daniel: Uhhuh. Clint: and if you don't, don't don't be like Michigan. Just don't be Daniel: Lord. Michigan's been relevant more recently than you, Florida. Clint: And they have a coach who doesn't act who doesn't care about football. Daniel: No, that's better than their former coach who cared about things other than football. Clint: no. no. Daniel: no. Chancellor of Integrity. Clint: Ch he has Chancellor of Integrity has more knowledge of how to delete text messaging off multiple devices than you do about anything in your life. J just Daniel: There you are. Yeah. Mm-hmm. That is accurate. All right. Clint, it's been Clint: Okay, sorry. Daniel: a minute here on the Talking Dogs. we took the week off last week. were we in some Sometim Clint: Look, sometimes your boys we get into our feels, okay? Daniel: things happen. I listen, we're not gonna belabor the point. We're back. Georgia's gonna win the national championship. That's that's it. That's the Clint: My understanding. Daniel: that's the take. Georgia's gonna win the national championship. But this is about the cocktail party, Clint. I'm gonna tell you the bell of the ball. Not just at this cocktail party, but in college football all season, it seems. But specifically as it relates to this game, because of his former association with the Georgia Bulldogs, the bell of the ball has been Buster Faulkner. he's the greatest offensive mind. That college football has ever known. I don't know if you know that, but that's what I've been told force fed over and over and over again by national media outlets. We trust Buster Faulkner. Did you see the kinds of offenses he was running at Georgia Tech? Did you see the kind of offenses that he's been running at Florida Clint? Did you see the yardage they put up against Ole Miss? Buster Faulkner is the best offensive coordinator in all of college football. I assume you agree. Clint: Daniel, let me if I may. It Daniel: I I I asked you a question, so it'd be rude if I didn't let you answer. Clint: If you not not you fan you're here because you love the banter, you love being a fan, you love fanning out more than anything else, which we appreciate. If you are dying for Buster Fall. Daniel: If you want us to fire Bobo and replace him with Buster Fox. Clint: I politely ask you to go be a fan of Georgia Tech. To go be Daniel: Please. Clint: a fan of Florida, I I want Mike Bobo to retire as Georgia's offensive coordinator. I don't want Buster Daniel: Does Clint: Faulkner. Let me say this again clearly for you. Daniel: Mm-hmm. Okay. Clint: Based upon the results that Buster Faulkner is able to execute on the field from every single place, he's been an offensive coordinator. Daniel: Yeah. Yep. Clint: I don't want him touching our program. Bull stop. Daniel: Period. You're gonna get into some stats, Clint, but Clint: But if you Daniel: can I I'm gonna double down on the point in case people think, well, but what if Mike Bobo does retire and we have to let me say this. I would hire Todd Hartley as Georgia's offensive coordinator tomorrow before I hired Buster Faulkner. And I know Todd Hartley has never called place. And I know Todd Hartley has never been an OC. And I know Buster Faulkner has been an OC and had varying levels of success at various power four levels. I Clint: Sure. Sure. Daniel: would hire Todd Hartley tomorrow ahead of Buster Faulkner. And if you think that's crazy, just listen to some of the things my man's got to say. Clint: I'm gonna give you 12 games that Buster Faulkner, and I'm not sure this isn't Buster Faulkner going up against with inferior opponents going up against far more superior opponents. I'm doing like for like Apple, the conference opponents that you're in, the teams that you're playing. I'm gonna go Buster Faulkner as an offensive coordinator in his stops, playing against top 15 defenses in scoring. Okay. Just to. Daniel: Okay. So some of the better units that he's faced, not the Campbell Camels, is what you're saying. Clint: Any Daniel: We're filtering out the Campbell Camels. Clint: I'm trying to filter out. It's like beating your chest over beating Middle Tennessee. It's saying, okay. Again, that's why when we play those types of schools, Austin P, we we see four or five deep guys playing in those games. And why we're not stat padding. Cause I did we win? Daniel: 'Cause we don't care about the score or the stats. Care about Clint: Great. Daniel: development. Clint: Of those twelve games, do you want Daniel: Mm-hmm. Clint: to take a guess how many times his team scored over twenty five points? Daniel: Twenty five's not that many points in modern college football. Clint: Not in modern college football. Twenty five points, Daniel. How many I'm sorry. Yeah, yeah, of over twenty five points. Daniel: Let's say half of the games. Twelve games, you say? I'll say half the games. He Clint: Twelve games. Daniel: scored over twenty five points. It's his top fifteen defenses, so I'm assuming he got got a few times. Clint: 25 points again, not Heck. Florida is averaging averaging giving up more than that each game, I understand. But it's not outrageous to have 25 points be scored in a game. We're talking about a touchdown. Daniel: Yeah, Georgia's averaging forty-three points per game this season, just so we're clear. Okay? So four three. So here you're talking about two five. Georgia's averaging forty-three points per game this season. Okay, so I'll say half. Clint: He has he has done that twice. Daniel: two out of Clint: Two times has he done that when playing against top 15 defenses. And of those two times, Daniel: Out of twelve games. Clint: no, of those two times, it was against Marshall in a three overtime winner at Okay. And then against Troy. The only other time while he's been at a a bigger conference team, again, he came from the Sunbelt. I get it. So he's played Georgia twice. We've been in the top 15. He's played Notre Dame. And he's played Clemson. Okay. Those are the four teams that he's played while at Georgia Tech and Florida. Of those times, he scored 23 against us in 23. He scored 13 against Notre Dame. He scored nine against us. And against Clemson. This is what's interesting. Clemson, he scored 21 points. So the most he's scored has been against us in 23, but 21 points against Clemson. And that came when Clemson was up forty two to seven with ten minutes to go in the game. Daniel: Garbage time's what we call that. Clint: Garbage time. I'm counting that as seven points. So he's had 27, 23, 13, 9 against top 15 defenses while he's had competent talent like he does right now at Florida. Ladies and gentlemen, Buster Faulkner is an okay offensive coordinator. He's he's not great. Daniel: He his teams his teams typically score a decent amount of points against horrifically bad defenses. Clint: Yes. Daniel: Case in point, they scored 52 points against Old Miss. Guess who's a horrifically bad defense, Clinton? Clint: Old Miss Daniel: It's old miss is the answer to your question. They scored the same fifty two points against the Campbell Camels. Sixty six points against Florida Atlantic. Clint: Okay. Okay. Daniel: Okay, so he scores a lot of points. Clint: If you want to know what these are called, by the way, go go back to your math and stats. These are called outliers. Daniel: He scores a lot of points against really bad defenses. And then against competent to decent defenses, guess what? He does not score nearly as many points. So the average looks nice. It looks very nice, Clint. But Clint: And I I heard one idiot by the way this week say, Well, it's not like Florida's coming in not having to play a defense that's anywhere like Georgia. they did just play Texas and beat Daniel: you sweet, Clint: First of all, Daniel: sweet baby. Clint: Raylan Wilson, Ellis Robinson, Chris Cole. I I can go up and down the list of Georgia players that would far outperform Texas and be starting on there are maybe two players on Texas's team that would start for Georgia on defense. Maybe two. Okay. I and Daniel: huh. Yeah. probably one, actually, but go ahead. Clint: he's no longer playing for Texas. Daniel: Uh-huh, yep. Clint: They scored twenty seven points. They had Daniel: Uh-huh. Clint: three hundred and thirteen yards on that. And Texas Daniel: Yep. Okay. Clint: had twenty four points. I just ask you again, is twenty seven points gonna beat Georgia? Daniel: I I I first of all, no. But if we're talking about how good of a defense Texas is, they Clint: Yeah, go ahead. Daniel: gave up twenty seven points to Florida. Do you know who else they gave up twenty seven points to? You don't have to you don't have to rewind the tape very much. They gave up twenty seven points to Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Sooners, friends. Let me ask you this Does Oklahoma have an elite offense? Does Oklahoma Clint: Any Daniel: have the best offensive coordinator in the history of college football? Because they scored the same amount of points. Except They did it one week later. That's the difference. Buster Faulkner is very average against good teams. And Clint: Very very. Daniel: he is a run up the score and do not take your foot off the gas against very bad teams. Well, that makes your average seem pretty good. But George is not an average team. George is a very Clint: No, they're not. Daniel: good team. Clint: Tennessee, very good defense, very horrible offense. With a quarterback that no they gave up seventeen points, Texas did to that team. Like it do not compare Texas and Georgia. Texas is outside, I think top maybe 30 in rushing defense were top ten. Passing defense, Texas does have a little bit because you can run on them a little bit. And anyway. Daniel: They're not. Clint: To suggest Florida can have some competency because they were competent against Texas is so delusional to how these teams are comprised and who these players are. Rayland Wilson and Chris Cole have the most, I think first and third most TFLs, chaos sacks, QB pressures of all linebackers in the nation. Those two are top three. They Texas don't have that, people. Daniel: No, Texas Georgia's gonna have Buster Faulkner in an absolute blender in this game. Kirby Smart is going to be coaching circles around Buster Faulkner in this game. His offense is predictable. His offense is vanilla. His offense Clint: Yes. It's eye candy. Daniel: is not good enough to beat real teams. It's also not good enough to beat South Carolina. It's also not good enough to beat Missouri. So Great stats versus Campbell. But I'll take Mike Bobo. I'll take this Georgia offense. I will take this Georgia roster. I and again, this used to be a rivalry. These used to be teams comprised of five stars up and down the roster. This used to be top ten matchups in Jacksonville. This used to be great teams getting upset by a lower ranked Clint: Yep. Daniel: Rival. Clint: Yep. Daniel: Because both teams were feisty and competitive and fiery and this used to be we used to be sending guys out to dance in the end zone. We used to be calling timeouts, Florida, to run up the score. Do you remember that? Do you remember when you were proud? Do you remember when you had something and the guy was over there on the t calling time golly, if you could just call a timeout and freeze time then? Because ever since Clint: Don't age. Daniel: that moment Time's just been ticking away. Turns Clint: She'd been taking, she'd been going. Daniel: out other people have been getting real good at football, like Kentucky, like Vandy, like I don't know, a little old team from Athens called Georgia. Clint: We're gonna be back. We're gonna do overreaction. We're gonna do all the stuff leading up to this Georgia-Florida game. The hate is always present, except now it gets come pouring out of us. He is Daniel Iam Clint. This is the Talking Dogs. We'll be here covering the Bulldogs. you enjoy. Look out for the newsletter. Sign up, subscribe. We'll get it out to you guys, and we'll see guys then. Daniel: See ya.
