- 0:47Speaker 2: listen to the Sports Shock Show.
- 0:49Speaker 8: I am the Sports Shock Wayne Gandean. Once again we
- 0:52Speaker 8: are here. We are full of energy. Vic Kenny, command
- 0:57Speaker 8: you Greg. Finally seeing the out for Mail and me
- 1:01Speaker 8: in high levels they see the quickness, the focus and
- 1:07Speaker 8: just the determination that the Sports Shock used to put
- 1:13Speaker 8: into his football career. And now they see how it's
- 1:17Speaker 8: still there. The hand eye coordination, fearlessness to kill a
- 1:25Speaker 8: bug right out the air quick. Big Kenny over there
- 1:28Speaker 8: was clutching his purchase. I wish I had a Do
- 1:31Speaker 8: we have any of that on tape? Where Big Kenny was.
- 1:33Speaker 4: It wasn't a bug, It was a peregrine. Falcon.
- 1:39Speaker 9: It was a small bird of prey got into the
- 1:42Speaker 9: studio and it was menacing the crew.
- 1:45Speaker 10: And you just.
- 1:46Speaker 9: Looked up like hawks smashed between your hands and then
- 1:51Speaker 9: wipe the blood on your shirt. And I'm supposed to
- 1:54Speaker 9: be the one feel bad about not want to be.
- 1:57Speaker 4: Attacked by a baby eagle. Who else is gonna kill him?
- 2:02Speaker 8: No, I'm saying, hanging this stuff about to leave, Like, man,
- 2:05Speaker 8: I can't work in this kind of environment.
- 2:07Speaker 9: It's a baby eagle, sir, like you, we don't. We
- 2:10Speaker 9: don't usually fight them off like that. I was impressed
- 2:13Speaker 9: when I saw you, Like I was like, we might
- 2:16Speaker 9: need to get sports jock a hug or something.
- 2:20Speaker 4: You got a lot of picked up aggression.
- 2:22Speaker 8: Gentlemen, before we go any further in the show, because
- 2:24Speaker 8: I've been watching actually the the Olympics, kind of messing
- 2:29Speaker 8: up your night's sleep. You be watching stuff you'll watch
- 2:31Speaker 8: it again. Have you watched something live during the day
- 2:35Speaker 8: and then still watch it at.
- 2:36Speaker 4: Night though the show? You could so you could narrate
- 2:38Speaker 4: somebody else watching pop watch.
- 2:42Speaker 8: Way back? Have you up all kinds of night? But
- 2:47Speaker 8: have any of you seen any clip? And I virtually
- 2:53Speaker 8: have seen a little clip of a ton of sports
- 2:57Speaker 8: at the Olympics, but I still haven't seen break dancing.
- 3:00Speaker 4: Have you seen any clip.
- 3:03Speaker 8: I've seen handball, I've seen synchronized swimming, BMX biking. I've
- 3:10Speaker 8: seen the skateb site go race where the three people
- 3:14Speaker 8: take off together and go around the circle. I've seen
- 3:18Speaker 8: that a little bit of everything, But I haven't seen
- 3:20Speaker 8: the new sport. I've seen the fat the speed climb
- 3:26Speaker 8: or whatever they were calling it. They put in here
- 3:30Speaker 8: this Olympics. The wall way the.
- 3:32Speaker 9: Mountain today is the sport climbing combined sport climbing, Okay,
- 3:38Speaker 9: combined is to I believe it's the sport that's going
- 3:41Speaker 9: on right now. I have not seen breakdance. And do
- 3:44Speaker 9: you think that part of that is they don't know
- 3:46Speaker 9: how to narrate it yet. Czechoslovakia is doing the windmill.
- 3:50Speaker 9: There they go, Czechoslovakia with the tick.
- 3:54Speaker 8: Got to play our favorite breakdancing song, Kenny, I'm saying,
- 3:59Speaker 8: but how do you narrate the song?
- 4:01Speaker 10: Now? Raise it for you?
- 4:03Speaker 8: Okay, that's why we we said it was your number one.
- 4:09Speaker 8: There you go see how the automatically making chest want.
- 4:12Speaker 4: To and here it comes you.
- 4:15Speaker 9: You go Slavia with the tick, he's got the flipwork,
- 4:20Speaker 9: he hits.
- 4:20Speaker 4: The meum and there's wind mem he's bouncing, he's bouncing.
- 4:26Speaker 8: There you go, that's all you need to see. I
- 4:28Speaker 8: haven't seen one bit of breakdance, you go, Slavia. Yes,
- 4:32Speaker 8: so it's not just me. Neither one of you two
- 4:34Speaker 8: have seen a clip of it either. We still got
- 4:37Speaker 8: three days left. Okay, maybe it's late. Maybe it's not
- 4:39Speaker 8: like one of those because when we think of it,
- 4:43Speaker 8: I think we think, maybe it's a bunch of rounds.
- 4:45Speaker 8: Maybe it can be done in one day.
- 4:47Speaker 4: Maybe it can be done in one day.
- 4:49Speaker 8: Because I mean, even if it's a couple of rounds,
- 4:51Speaker 8: it still can be done in one day because it
- 4:54Speaker 8: wouldn't have a bunch of weight classes, would it.
- 4:57Speaker 11: There are you look at this schedule they got Okay,
- 5:01Speaker 11: it got the B girls round robin starting tomorrow in
- 5:05Speaker 11: the pre qualifier battle in quarterfinals, so starting tomorrow, don't
- 5:12Speaker 11: have that.
- 5:13Speaker 4: So they're going to give it spotlight.
- 5:16Speaker 9: Yeah, okay, the B girls round robin.
- 5:21Speaker 12: So is it group?
- 5:23Speaker 8: So there's a part of this group and then there's
- 5:24Speaker 8: a partner's individual or just one of them.
- 5:27Speaker 12: It looks like it's just groups.
- 5:31Speaker 4: One of our online listeners.
- 5:33Speaker 9: First of all, Jared says, a week without bad producer yay,
- 5:37Speaker 9: And then he says they got snoop, bring in crazy
- 5:40Speaker 9: Legs or Shabba Doo tell us you oh without telling
- 5:45Speaker 9: us you oh.
- 5:46Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying.
- 5:46Speaker 9: Anybody that mentions crazy legs and Shahbad was definitely around
- 5:51Speaker 9: when the.
- 5:51Speaker 4: Hip hop was born.
- 5:53Speaker 8: But it's just something I've been waiting to catch a
- 5:55Speaker 8: clip of and I thought maybe I had missed it,
- 5:58Speaker 8: but it hadn't even started yet.
- 6:00Speaker 12: Yeah, it's a Friday and Saturday.
- 6:03Speaker 8: Okay, And I think everybody's interesting on how it will be.
- 6:08Speaker 8: I want to tune in just to see how it
- 6:10Speaker 8: is judged, like, because I have never really other than
- 6:15Speaker 8: I can sit there and be like, oh I like
- 6:17Speaker 8: that performance better than like that performance, But I wouldn't
- 6:20Speaker 8: know how to do it technical.
- 6:23Speaker 9: And then I wonder if they have it like almost gymnastics,
- 6:27Speaker 9: where they have to be elements to your because part
- 6:30Speaker 9: of the technical element in gymnastics is you have to work,
- 6:33Speaker 9: like on the floor exercise, you have to work all
- 6:35Speaker 9: corners of the floor. There have to be certain moves
- 6:38Speaker 9: that you do in uneven bars and the balance being
- 6:42Speaker 9: things like that. So I wonder if they have a
- 6:44Speaker 9: you know, you gotta win meal, if you gotta you know,
- 6:47Speaker 9: I wonder if it's all break dancing or if some
- 6:50Speaker 9: sort of popping and locking is involved.
- 6:53Speaker 10: So well, it.
- 6:54Speaker 8: Should be exciting, and I guess I wouldn't imagine why
- 6:58Speaker 8: they have it so late well in the tournament. Maybe
- 7:03Speaker 8: they're using one of the venues of a sport that
- 7:05Speaker 8: they've been waiting to kind of end.
- 7:08Speaker 12: The whole thing is going to be.
- 7:13Speaker 11: The whole thing will be all in one day, So
- 7:17Speaker 11: from the round robin or whatever, all the way to yees,
- 7:21Speaker 11: the medals will all be in one day.
- 7:23Speaker 8: Yeah, So I was thinking it's something that can be
- 7:26Speaker 8: done in a day because of what you're doing, and
- 7:31Speaker 8: you can have the semifinals in the morning come back later,
- 7:34Speaker 8: especially if you're only doing groups. But that is one
- 7:38Speaker 8: of the sports that I'm still waiting on to see
- 7:40Speaker 8: in the Olympics.
- 7:41Speaker 4: The track has been hot and heavy.
- 7:44Speaker 8: What a great run yesterday by Quincy Hall in the
- 7:49Speaker 8: four hundred meter That comeback almost looked unreal, mainly because
- 7:56Speaker 8: if you've ever seen them a race like that, or
- 8:00Speaker 8: seen or done it yourself, and you get in that
- 8:04Speaker 8: position where it seemed like Quincy was. When you start grimacing,
- 8:09Speaker 8: it means grimace with the ugly face kind of means
- 8:13Speaker 8: I'm at my peak and I'm just holding on.
- 8:17Speaker 4: That's all I can stand now.
- 8:18Speaker 8: I might win or lose, but I ain't gonna get
- 8:20Speaker 8: no fast. It just means I'm just gonna try to
- 8:22Speaker 8: hold this. And I think that's the thing that drew
- 8:25Speaker 8: people in. Like man Quincy is blown and then they
- 8:30Speaker 8: finally got on that back hundred still with the ugly face.
- 8:33Speaker 8: I don't know if the gold grill had him. He
- 8:36Speaker 8: just couldn't keep his mouth closed. Why would you run
- 8:39Speaker 8: with a grill? I have note that's Quincy in his thing,
- 8:42Speaker 8: but if he's always done it, he probably doesn't see
- 8:44Speaker 8: his anything. But to comeback to run past five people,
- 8:49Speaker 8: to hit the tape first and win the four hundred
- 8:52Speaker 8: meter goal, congratching kudos to him just because of you know,
- 8:58Speaker 8: we've seen a couple of times in these races that
- 9:02Speaker 8: the comeback when is exciting. It will get you out
- 9:09Speaker 8: your chair. The young lady, I think her last name
- 9:12Speaker 8: is Bowl for the Netherlands. A couple of days ago
- 9:17Speaker 8: they was doing the mix four hundred race, and she came.
- 9:23Speaker 8: She was like in seventh, yeah, and she came, and
- 9:25Speaker 8: she came and won, and it was the same thing.
- 9:27Speaker 8: You end up cheering for the other country and watching
- 9:30Speaker 8: the Quincy Hall.
- 9:33Speaker 9: I've rarely sat and had the opportunity to watch at
- 9:36Speaker 9: length any of the coverage. I've seen a lot of it,
- 9:40Speaker 9: but it's in video clips and some sound bites. But
- 9:44Speaker 9: yesterday watching the four hundred, I watched that for a
- 9:49Speaker 9: number of hours, and when it got to that race,
- 9:51Speaker 9: a buddy of mine was by the house.
- 9:53Speaker 4: We were watching together, and I found myself doing the
- 9:56Speaker 4: whole jumping up and down.
- 10:00Speaker 9: You know what I'm saying, We're shaking each other and
- 10:02Speaker 9: it was and to me, that's what the Olympics. That
- 10:07Speaker 9: moment itself paid for the whole Olympics. Him coming from
- 10:11Speaker 9: way behind and winning in the fashion that he did.
- 10:14Speaker 9: That was what the Olympic competition, to me, is all about.
- 10:18Speaker 9: And that one moment made this whole twenty twenty four
- 10:21Speaker 9: season worth the watch.
- 10:23Speaker 8: The steeple chase, the three hundred oh yeah meter run.
- 10:27Speaker 8: It's been some great races and I've been saying here
- 10:29Speaker 8: since this Olympics started, especially on the track, that it's
- 10:35Speaker 8: taking me a while to pull the veil off. So
- 10:38Speaker 8: most likely I was in the cart, I mean the
- 10:41Speaker 8: crate with you and just giving all homage to the
- 10:45Speaker 8: one hundred meter as the track god, right, But when
- 10:51Speaker 8: you start looking at these other races and you look
- 10:54Speaker 8: at the dedication it has to take to pull this
- 10:59Speaker 8: stuff off, it starts making you see that it's a
- 11:04Speaker 8: different tempo. Yes, training for the hundred and training for
- 11:10Speaker 8: the mile, these these distances and these eight hundred meters
- 11:14Speaker 8: steeple chases, it's a whole different training going to the track.
- 11:21Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 11:22Speaker 9: When when when the steeplechas is coming around and they
- 11:24Speaker 9: have five laps to go and you.
- 11:27Speaker 10: What what so you're gonna do this five more lamps?
- 11:31Speaker 10: You go in, rush your teeth and come back and
- 11:35Speaker 10: three laps to go. Did you see where the guy fell? Yeah,
- 11:39Speaker 10: they had to rush him off and nobody stopped. Nobody
- 11:42Speaker 10: was like, hey is he okay? That's just I guess
- 11:44Speaker 10: part of the sport.
- 11:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 11:45Speaker 8: And the steeple chate Lmnchi Grima. I think it's how you.
- 11:48Speaker 4: Said, Germa, I had never seen it. Looks like from Ethiopia.
- 11:52Speaker 8: Yeah, I fell and he wasn't moving, so it looked
- 11:55Speaker 8: like maybe he had hit his head. I thought it
- 11:58Speaker 8: was his shoulder and looked like maybe he mumped his
- 11:59Speaker 8: head head And and then those guys are such great athletes.
- 12:04Speaker 8: They just suggested and kind of hurtled over him like
- 12:07Speaker 8: he it was. It was the sleep extra obstacle.
- 12:12Speaker 13: Hop.
- 12:12Speaker 8: I'll be back in about thirty seconds. Yeah, that's all
- 12:15Speaker 8: that's going to take long. Yeah, they didn't come right right.
- 12:21Speaker 8: We'll be back more to the Sports Shock Show right
- 12:23Speaker 8: after this.
- 12:24Speaker 4: I'm climbing the ladder.

- 15:37Speaker 16: to the next level.
- 15:40Speaker 18: Well the twos gon tailor make me get through? Oh ada,
- 15:51Speaker 18: hold zab domin in the bottom rolls goal. Now you
- 15:57Speaker 18: might have start an epidemic. As Welcome back to the
- 16:07Speaker 18: Sportshock Show. I'm the Swordshock Wayne Gandy, Good morning to you.
- 16:12Speaker 18: Preseason football is here this weekend.
- 16:17Speaker 4: Let me check. It's probably some games tonight.
- 16:19Speaker 8: They typically play a lot of games on Thursday and Friday,
- 16:24Speaker 8: and just give you one game. You look at the schedule,
- 16:27Speaker 8: big Kenningsy, who might be dancing to night. Yeah we
- 16:30Speaker 8: got two games on tap. Yeah, we got the Giants
- 16:32Speaker 8: and Detroit and the Giants at seven, Carolina and Carolina
- 16:38Speaker 8: and New England at seven on the NFL network.
- 16:43Speaker 10: That is tonight.
- 16:45Speaker 8: Tomorrow, the Falcons go to Miami and most of these
- 16:48Speaker 8: teams are already at these locations with this new well
- 16:52Speaker 8: it's not new, it's just more frequent now. A couple
- 16:57Speaker 8: of years early on the cross team practices before the
- 17:02Speaker 8: preseason game or something we did, and then they kind
- 17:06Speaker 8: of faded away from that. They wasn't sure whether they
- 17:10Speaker 8: wanted other teams to see and get a feel because
- 17:16Speaker 8: not really knowing your opponent, not just the plays, but
- 17:20Speaker 8: the individual athlete is part of the adjustment of the
- 17:25Speaker 8: game as well. It could take you as a player
- 17:29Speaker 8: playing against this guy. It's one thing to your confidence
- 17:33Speaker 8: of knowing and have felt his power or seeing his
- 17:37Speaker 8: speed personally helps you. That's why they always talk about
- 17:41Speaker 8: divisional rivals and those games are tight, or teams that
- 17:44Speaker 8: play within the same conference. It's like, you don't have
- 17:49Speaker 8: that edge. I know you fast, not what I heard
- 17:54Speaker 8: through Sports Illustrated or on TikTok. I tried to catch
- 17:57Speaker 8: I actually tried to. I tried to catch you in
- 18:01Speaker 8: and I know you're shown. So some of that had
- 18:04Speaker 8: faded and now it's back in a bigger way, and
- 18:07Speaker 8: mostly because you got rid of the preseason game. Without
- 18:12Speaker 8: that extra preseason game, you want to get a little
- 18:14Speaker 8: more live action in drill so Atlanta, Miami, Tomorrow, Houston, Pittsburgh.
- 18:20Speaker 8: I guess the biggest thing out of that is Russell
- 18:24Speaker 8: Wilson won't be playing for Pittsburgh, Is that correct? And
- 18:28Speaker 8: Justin Fields is going to and it's a couple of
- 18:31Speaker 8: reports that people really don't see justin field improvement. Hopefully
- 18:39Speaker 8: we'll see it in the game, but I haven't guess.
- 18:42Speaker 11: I had read that he was that he had been
- 18:44Speaker 11: taking a lot of the first team reps and that, oh,
- 18:50Speaker 11: he's going to actually challenge Russell Wilson for the starting job.
- 18:54Speaker 11: But you're hearing that they're not seeing much that. Well,
- 19:00Speaker 11: when Russell gets back, yeah, Russell will be the starter.
- 19:03Speaker 8: Yeah, this is more of that precautionary The guy we're
- 19:07Speaker 8: going with is old, and you know, we're just trying
- 19:11Speaker 8: to get through a game.
- 19:12Speaker 4: But we will see that.
- 19:14Speaker 9: When when Justin Fields was in Chicago, in my opinion,
- 19:19Speaker 9: I thought that we saw them give him every opportunity
- 19:24Speaker 9: to be who he could be. They put him in
- 19:27Speaker 9: all kinds of different scenarios and gave him what they
- 19:32Speaker 9: thought were the best pieces around him to improve him,
- 19:35Speaker 9: and they gave him grace and allowed him to develop
- 19:39Speaker 9: over that entire season. And at the end of the
- 19:41Speaker 9: season they were still saying this ain't gonna work. So
- 19:44Speaker 9: why do people keep I mean, and that was his
- 19:47Speaker 9: what third season? We keep on we And this.
- 19:52Speaker 4: Is just my opinion about justin fields.
- 19:54Speaker 9: We keep waiting for him to come out of the
- 19:57Speaker 9: other end of the tunnel when maybe he just cool
- 20:02Speaker 9: being in the dark like that. I mean, maybe that's
- 20:04Speaker 9: the maybe we've seen the best of him.
- 20:08Speaker 8: I believe that people have always felt that the explosive,
- 20:17Speaker 8: the dunk, the guy that can dunk, surely must be
- 20:22Speaker 8: a Hall of famer, a better player. For you to
- 20:25Speaker 8: give me that, you must be you have to be
- 20:30Speaker 8: more than that. Right that win Mill three six and
- 20:35Speaker 8: dunked over a guy that was on the bench, saying
- 20:39Speaker 8: that's how creative you got.
- 20:41Speaker 9: He wasn't even on the court, and said, you jumped
- 20:44Speaker 9: everybody on the court Win Mail three sixty, then dunked
- 20:48Speaker 9: it and landed behind their bench. Surely, come on.
- 20:54Speaker 10: You know.
- 20:55Speaker 8: And that's kind of how people those guys that have
- 20:57Speaker 8: that excitement game, people have always kind of gave them this,
- 21:01Speaker 8: Oh no, it gotta be you must not be in
- 21:03Speaker 8: the right system. The coach must not be using them,
- 21:07Speaker 8: because surely if you have that kind of and I
- 21:09Speaker 8: think it's the same thing with the athletic quarterback or
- 21:12Speaker 8: a receiver. Sometimes with brilliant speed, they will get somebody
- 21:19Speaker 8: feels like they can get two or three extra years
- 21:23Speaker 8: because other people feel like, well, y'all, aren't y'all just
- 21:26Speaker 8: grooming it?
- 21:27Speaker 19: Right?
- 21:27Speaker 8: Yeah, man, you not doing come on down here to
- 21:31Speaker 8: tamp but they they ain't grooming. And then you get
- 21:34Speaker 8: the Tampa. It's the same thing. And somebody San Diego
- 21:37Speaker 8: sitting there, excuse me, La Chargers sitting there like Naci.
- 21:40Speaker 8: They just all they had to do was put the
- 21:42Speaker 8: boy the right foot back you like, ma'am.
- 21:44Speaker 4: Man ain't no way not the cord doesn't beat this,
- 21:47Speaker 4: and Arsia.
- 21:48Speaker 8: And sometimes coach, you know, he just foe two.
- 21:51Speaker 16: He just.
- 21:54Speaker 8: That's it, just four two. But by the time it'd
- 21:58Speaker 8: be ten years later. It's like the tall guy in basketball, right,
- 22:04Speaker 8: he's gonna get way more chances at seven feet and
- 22:09Speaker 8: you'll look at him and you're the tallest guy that's
- 22:11Speaker 8: been on the court tonight for your team at six eight. Yeah,
- 22:15Speaker 8: and every time they go to the huddle, he is
- 22:17Speaker 8: standing outside the huddle and you're thinking, get him some run.
- 22:21Speaker 12: But he can't hear that with everyone.
- 22:25Speaker 8: He can't teach, You can't teach. And Philly will take
- 22:31Speaker 8: on Baltimore, is that correct? Yes, yes, Billy in Baltimore's
- 22:36Speaker 8: Friday night as well, and then a whole bunch of
- 22:39Speaker 8: games on Saturday. So NFL and we'll talk about NFL
- 22:43Speaker 8: a little more than some fights with some fines and practice,
- 22:47Speaker 8: which is hilarious. But the NFL preseason officially kicks off.
- 22:54Speaker 8: Everybody's on tap to play this weekend. If you're into,
- 23:00Speaker 8: I'm gonna be all on the Olympics. So still last
- 23:03Speaker 8: four days. Yeah, I want to go ahead up and
- 23:07Speaker 8: catch you'll next week.
- 23:08Speaker 9: And have you seen anything surprising in the Olympics. Yesterday
- 23:12Speaker 9: I watched men's volleyball and Poland has a brother that
- 23:19Speaker 9: plays for their Olympic team.
- 23:21Speaker 10: That's racist.
- 23:22Speaker 4: Yeah, I know that's what I'm saying, but I'm.
- 23:25Speaker 9: Pointing out that and Ireland, and Ireland has a black
- 23:29Speaker 9: female who runs for them.
- 23:32Speaker 10: Yeah, but was that?
- 23:34Speaker 9: Come on, man, don't act like, don't we don't do that.
- 23:36Speaker 9: Don't do that.
- 23:37Speaker 8: No, I'm saying, I can see why you say that.
- 23:40Speaker 10: But today.
- 23:43Speaker 9: It ain't no brothers in Monominy, Wisconsin. Why would I
- 23:46Speaker 9: think they were in Poland?
- 23:48Speaker 8: Army bases, travel jobs, all that takes. You play takes it, and.
- 23:52Speaker 9: Then those people stay and they proliferate. Okay, We're a
- 23:56Speaker 9: great American melting pot and the world is getting small back.
- 24:02Speaker 20: Jesus, say you need to say a need good?
- 24:05Speaker 4: Wait, say the world what the need to day? It
- 24:07Speaker 4: is some specialistic be a light.
- 24:09Speaker 8: Say it can make a mistake?
- 24:10Speaker 15: How the same thing makes you?
- 24:12Speaker 4: Say it make you mistake? Don't bow away?
- 24:17Speaker 7: Or of the Sports Jot Show with Wayne Dantius dumbing
- 24:20Speaker 7: up next.

- 25:55Speaker 22: Daisy was abandoned by her family and placed in foster

- 26:02Speaker 22: of uncertainty. She thought she'd never have a permanent place
- 26:06Speaker 22: to call home.
- 26:08Speaker 24: Before I was adopted, I felt like I wasn't enough.
- 26:11Speaker 24: I had this hole in my heart and I never
- 26:13Speaker 24: knew what I needed to patch that hole. But when
- 26:16Speaker 24: my mom asked to adopt me, that hole was closed.
- 26:20Speaker 24: It feels so normal now to say that I'm a
- 26:22Speaker 24: part of this family. I am surrounded by love, I
- 26:25Speaker 24: feel safe, and that hole inside of me is gone.
- 26:29Speaker 24: I am whole. I'm finally enough, just as I am.

- 27:02Speaker 12: The Red.
- 27:09Speaker 10: We walk the line and try to see.
- 27:15Speaker 2: Look one way to this swe shock show.
- 27:30Speaker 8: I'm this one shock Wayne Candy, Good morning to you
- 27:33Speaker 8: as we move into the first weekend of a full
- 27:37Speaker 8: list of NFL football preseason is here. The season kicks
- 27:42Speaker 8: off in a month Thursday night. The Ravens play the
- 27:46Speaker 8: Chiefs on like September the sixth, or fifth, like that
- 27:52Speaker 8: next month. So don't think we that far away. It's
- 27:54Speaker 8: just that the Olympics have been taking our attention and
- 28:00Speaker 8: it has been great to see. As we went to
- 28:03Speaker 8: break that, Kenny says that a lot of people have
- 28:06Speaker 8: been talking and He has even himself had a couple
- 28:11Speaker 8: of fillings based on Simone Piles and her teammate Jordan
- 28:16Speaker 8: Chiles doing one of the ceremonies up on the podium
- 28:23Speaker 8: the other day on Tuesday, Bows and excuse me Bowles
- 28:29Speaker 8: and Chiles took the bronze and the silver medal in
- 28:34Speaker 8: this event.
- 28:34Speaker 10: I want to say.
- 28:35Speaker 8: It was the floor exercise and the young lady from Brazil,
- 28:40Speaker 8: Rebecca Andrada androde Androde won the goal and as she
- 28:48Speaker 8: stepped up, Simone and Jordan from the US kind of
- 28:53Speaker 8: bowed down and neiled, like you know, helding the queen
- 28:57Speaker 8: of that floor exercise, and Humphreys of the Ravens. I
- 29:02Speaker 8: said it was disgusting that they would kneel for Rebecca
- 29:11Speaker 8: in this situation. Former First Lady Michelle Obama has even
- 29:16Speaker 8: raced to the defence of some on Bows, praising her
- 29:20Speaker 8: for having fun and bowing to the winner up on
- 29:27Speaker 8: the podium. But Kenny, you said you had an issue
- 29:29Speaker 8: with someon Bows and Jordan Chiles making this move as well.
- 29:35Speaker 9: Had I had some feelings, Yes, I did, and my
- 29:40Speaker 9: feelings were rooted in my military service to the country.
- 29:44Speaker 9: I didn't and this is just my personal feeling. When
- 29:47Speaker 9: I watched the metal presentations, I'm not really focused on
- 29:54Speaker 9: the athletes on the podium. I look at the positioning
- 29:58Speaker 9: of the national flags. Their flags are positioned in the
- 30:02Speaker 9: order of which they finished that competition. I was taught
- 30:09Speaker 9: during my military service in the United States Marine Corps
- 30:13Speaker 9: that America bows to no one. Now, for me, I'm
- 30:18Speaker 9: gonna either believe all of it or none of it.
- 30:21Speaker 9: I think that sometimes this this good will And I
- 30:26Speaker 9: had this discussion with some friends of mine and they
- 30:29Speaker 9: were I just saw it as them having fun and them,
- 30:33Speaker 9: you know, it's a new time and yeah, but to me,
- 30:37Speaker 9: that's inherent with this generation. They don't really care about
- 30:40Speaker 9: precedent and protocol. They sort of see as this moment
- 30:44Speaker 9: is mine, and I'm gonna do with it what I
- 30:46Speaker 9: think is best. You're representing the United States of America. Yes,
- 30:51Speaker 9: you are, some own Biles one of the greatest, if
- 30:54Speaker 9: not the greatest, most awarded accomplished athlete that we have.
- 31:01Speaker 9: But you still wear the red, white and blue uniform.
- 31:05Speaker 9: And you guys are up there bowing to a female.
- 31:08Speaker 9: And then later she was like, it was an all
- 31:10Speaker 9: black podium. Those are your American sensibilities being placed onto
- 31:16Speaker 9: that situation. Maybe that where's she from? The girl that
- 31:19Speaker 9: actually won Brazil. She sees herself as Brazilian. She doesn't
- 31:25Speaker 9: see herself as some black person. She sees herself as Brazilian.
- 31:30Speaker 9: A lot of times we talk about people of color,
- 31:33Speaker 9: and though that same sentiment isn't shared by the people
- 31:37Speaker 9: that we're championing. And I understand that, you know, on
- 31:40Speaker 9: Earth we're all one person. But a lot of my
- 31:43Speaker 9: feelings about this Olympic competition is rooted in cold war politics.
- 31:48Speaker 8: Your idea of the Olympics is you go to Olympics
- 31:51Speaker 8: in this warring fashion.
- 31:53Speaker 9: No, no, I go to the Olympics in my country.
- 31:56Speaker 9: Is competing against your country, the best person win. I'm
- 32:00Speaker 9: not trying to take away from the fact that you
- 32:02Speaker 9: got a gold medal, But for me to bow to you,
- 32:05Speaker 9: I think is more homage than is due in that moment.
- 32:09Speaker 4: That's my personal opinion.
- 32:11Speaker 8: Well, I'm gonna let command you Greg go on this
- 32:15Speaker 8: because I can get I can see venom. If Rebecca
- 32:22Speaker 8: from Brazil demand it, you kneel. But if you want
- 32:28Speaker 8: to bow in some kind of way to give that
- 32:33Speaker 8: person the accolade, I don't see how if it's not
- 32:37Speaker 8: a force bow, but go ahead, command, you.
- 32:40Speaker 11: Go, y'all can figure that on the side line. I mean,
- 32:43Speaker 11: it's like it's a different time. You know how we
- 32:47Speaker 11: look at some athletes with with our American sports. How
- 32:52Speaker 11: you know people say the NBA is everyone's everyone's friends,
- 32:55Speaker 11: everyone's buddy buddy. This is maybe the same thing, just
- 32:59Speaker 11: on a world stage. And I don't think a lot
- 33:03Speaker 11: of the current athletes look at it as I'm I'm
- 33:07Speaker 11: from this country, you're from that country. We're not even
- 33:10Speaker 11: supposed to, you know, talk to each other, barely acknowledge
- 33:15Speaker 11: you barely acknowledge each other. But look at a lot
- 33:17Speaker 11: of the especially in something like track and field. I
- 33:22Speaker 11: saw a picture of Shikari Richardson and I forget the
- 33:25Speaker 11: gentleman's name who won the gold in the pole vault.
- 33:27Speaker 11: He's representing Sweden, but they both went to LSU. They
- 33:31Speaker 11: came to LSU at the same time. Or that noahlloles
- 33:34Speaker 11: Uh is dating a Jamaican sprinter. So it's I guess
- 33:40Speaker 11: the the A lot of mine is politics.
- 33:44Speaker 9: When I was first, when I first was introduced to
- 33:47Speaker 9: the Olympics, our politics matched our competition we are America.
- 33:53Speaker 9: They are Russia. We are America, they are China. We
- 33:56Speaker 9: don't talk and associate before competition. During our as we
- 34:00Speaker 9: will shake your hand if we lose or win. But
- 34:04Speaker 9: all of that bowing, and now we're all over in
- 34:07Speaker 9: your village taking pictures and we eaten noodles and then
- 34:12Speaker 9: you come over here for slices of pizza. That is
- 34:15Speaker 9: very much this new era of international competition.
- 34:21Speaker 8: Well, very interesting. Take that someone. I don't agree at
- 34:26Speaker 8: all with any of it. I think these kids grow
- 34:30Speaker 8: up training together, and four years later the Olympics come around,
- 34:37Speaker 8: and we was roommates. This's whole four years. Half the
- 34:41Speaker 8: people Olympics trained together. Yeah, like they just go somewhere else,
- 34:48Speaker 8: some of them for the idea of being that country's hero.
- 34:57Speaker 4: Even though I haven't been here.
- 34:58Speaker 8: But until you invited me to the Olympics, I was
- 35:01Speaker 8: down in Baton Rouge, like you said, with the pole
- 35:04Speaker 8: vaulter born in Baton Rouge. Yes, went to Lsu. I
- 35:12Speaker 8: thought it was playful. I didn't see where it was wrong,
- 35:17Speaker 8: but I can see also if you're on something, we're
- 35:20Speaker 8: in some fierce competition. I think to me it was
- 35:24Speaker 8: old school because there was no crossing lines when we
- 35:29Speaker 8: met in Olympic competition. You really were coming from Who's Beckenstein.
- 35:37Speaker 8: There was a language barrier. I wasn't checking you out
- 35:40Speaker 8: on TikTok the other day. But these young ladies have
- 35:45Speaker 8: competed in the last three Olympics against each other. They
- 35:48Speaker 8: seem very encouraging that I want you to do the
- 35:51Speaker 8: best you can. I plan on beating you. But the bowing,
- 35:59Speaker 8: I don't know. I've bowed to people for doing acts
- 36:04Speaker 8: that I thought they couldn't pull off. They had nothing
- 36:09Speaker 8: to do with sports.
- 36:13Speaker 9: Now, and I'm saying in that context, you're playing a team,
- 36:17Speaker 9: uh that that time you were in the was it
- 36:20Speaker 9: the uh the finals? The game before the Super Bowl?
- 36:26Speaker 9: Which one?
- 36:26Speaker 4: Is that?
- 36:26Speaker 9: The semi final game, common champions Conference championship and y'all
- 36:32Speaker 9: lost the conference championship. Didn't go to the Super Bowl
- 36:36Speaker 9: for one of your team members to go over to
- 36:38Speaker 9: the guy that scored the winning touchdown and get on
- 36:41Speaker 9: his knee and bow. Now, they went to the same college,
- 36:44Speaker 9: they played on the same team, won a national championship together,
- 36:47Speaker 9: but they just beat your team his team for the
- 36:51Speaker 9: Super Bowl. For him to bow, you would have said
- 36:54Speaker 9: you know I understand.
- 36:55Speaker 8: That if I understood their relationship.
- 37:00Speaker 9: I'm saying, and again we're projecting that that into the situation.
- 37:05Speaker 9: Now sometimes we do this and you forbid that. No,
- 37:09Speaker 9: don't put nothing extra into it.
- 37:11Speaker 4: Don't.
- 37:11Speaker 9: Let's not put in they've been friends and roommates. We
- 37:14Speaker 9: don't know any of that. I'm talking about face value.
- 37:17Speaker 9: Your team got beat another person on your team who
- 37:21Speaker 9: was guarding a man that scored the winning touchdown. Regardless
- 37:24Speaker 9: of a relationship, Bow to that person, because you beat me,
- 37:28Speaker 9: you were the better person. We lost, And as we
- 37:31Speaker 9: are losing, I'm abou to you because you beat me.
- 37:35Speaker 8: I got the whole scenario right. How would you feel
- 37:38Speaker 8: I wouldn't have an emotion at all? Okay, Well, and.
- 37:41Speaker 9: I'm saying, if you're if that emotion, if that being
- 37:46Speaker 9: void of emotion is across the board, then that is
- 37:50Speaker 9: the type of objectivity so the world.
- 37:52Speaker 8: So basically all someone can do because I noticed that
- 37:58Speaker 8: through social media, I noticed through through looking outside in
- 38:03Speaker 8: people like to press upon how they would be doing something.
- 38:09Speaker 8: So what is simone allowed to do?
- 38:13Speaker 9: And I didn't This ain't about simone that That's what
- 38:16Speaker 9: I'm saying.
- 38:17Speaker 8: At what is a person who wants to show admiration
- 38:22Speaker 8: that this person won allowed to do.
- 38:25Speaker 9: The same thing that athletes have been doing their entire lives.
- 38:28Speaker 9: And that's what I'm saying. A lot of people are
- 38:30Speaker 9: making this about Simon that they.
- 38:33Speaker 8: Just took I just took that away.
- 38:35Speaker 9: This is about the fact that athletes have been congratulating
- 38:40Speaker 9: athletes since sports have been in existence.
- 38:43Speaker 4: And you think this is the first time somebody bowed.
- 38:46Speaker 9: I just the first time I've seen it on the podium.
- 38:49Speaker 9: That was my point. It was on the podium. They
- 38:52Speaker 9: could have done this in the locker. They could have
- 38:53Speaker 9: done this on the sidelines, they could have done this
- 38:56Speaker 9: all afternoon. But on the podiums when those flags are
- 38:59Speaker 9: positions and the American flag is flanking the Brazilian flag
- 39:05Speaker 9: at a lower stance, and then you guys bow for
- 39:09Speaker 9: people who have put their lives on the line for
- 39:12Speaker 9: that flag, they feel a certain way, and a lot
- 39:14Speaker 9: of that is how they're made to feel. The military
- 39:18Speaker 9: will tell you that you are out here willing to
- 39:21Speaker 9: die for this flag, and because of that, we don't negotiate,
- 39:26Speaker 9: we don't bow, and we offer no quarter.
- 39:29Speaker 4: And that is.
- 39:32Speaker 8: The South and the North traded food.
- 39:34Speaker 25: And well, I'm saying, and but during the war, Bacon. Yeah,
- 39:42Speaker 25: I'm saying, we got some call for you, Bacon. But
- 39:45Speaker 25: tomorrow on the podium. But tomorrow, because I know that
- 39:52Speaker 25: the competition is over, We're on the podium. No, this
- 39:56Speaker 25: is still to the field of battle.
- 40:00Speaker 8: Like I said. And it's amazing how people want to
- 40:02Speaker 8: be American when they want to be American. And I'm
- 40:05Speaker 8: not talking particularly you. We all of a sudden, being
- 40:08Speaker 8: America is in style right now, and then next month
- 40:15Speaker 8: something will happened with the police and then people hate America.
- 40:19Speaker 8: Right We'll be back more to Sports Jock Show after.
- 40:22Speaker 7: This, John Boy, Wayne Board of the Sports Josh Hill
- 40:36Speaker 7: with Wayne Dantibus coming up next.
- 40:40Speaker 26: The future depends on teachers. Every day, teachers are shaping

- 42:48Speaker 8: When is the last time you reached out for help?
- 42:52Speaker 28: If you or someone you know needs resources, whether it's

- 43:06Speaker 23: Brought to you by the United States Department of Federman's

- 43:11Speaker 4: And now back to the sports Giant, Wayne Yasy.
- 43:24Speaker 1: Between lock on, say you can see a sports jaint,
- 43:38Speaker 1: I'll see even candy wait.
- 43:42Speaker 8: Mats this one shot shout this one shock. Wayne came
- 43:45Speaker 8: to Good morning to you out there, listening land a
- 43:48Speaker 8: great discussion as we went to break there about some
- 43:52Speaker 8: own biles Jordan Chiles uh bending the knee for you
- 43:56Speaker 8: Games of Thrones, House of Dragon fans like I am.
- 44:00Speaker 8: It is a homage of basically denoting who is the
- 44:05Speaker 8: king or queen of the realm as they call it.
- 44:11Speaker 8: In this case up on the podium with Rebecca Androtti
- 44:17Speaker 8: yes yesterday when she won the floor exercise, a lot
- 44:21Speaker 8: of people come in on they felt like she should
- 44:25Speaker 8: not have done that move. But those are the same
- 44:29Speaker 8: people who two or three days before was complaining about
- 44:33Speaker 8: how her hair wasn't right. And as I said, social
- 44:39Speaker 8: media and the things that I watch, we seem to
- 44:46Speaker 8: devor into more to criticize and break down. The move
- 44:50Speaker 8: doesn't bother me because I'm one of those people I
- 44:54Speaker 8: like to actually let you know I think you are
- 44:56Speaker 8: a good player or what you do that does not
- 45:02Speaker 8: demote me. We watch people all the time in sports
- 45:07Speaker 8: try to.
- 45:10Speaker 4: Hold back.
- 45:12Speaker 8: I asked you, well, what do you think about Lebron
- 45:14Speaker 8: or what do you think about KD? Instead you're just
- 45:16Speaker 8: giving them the do you try to act like since
- 45:19Speaker 8: we play well you all right? No, the man is
- 45:22Speaker 8: a bad man. That doesn't take care of take away
- 45:27Speaker 8: from me. But in athletics you are taught to try
- 45:31Speaker 8: to diminish your opponent instead of accepting that, no, we
- 45:38Speaker 8: both can be both things can be true. You can
- 45:42Speaker 8: be great and I can be great. Now this is Highlander,
- 45:45Speaker 8: and let me right. That can only be one and
- 45:48Speaker 8: you you know now we can fight in battle, But
- 45:51Speaker 8: that don't mean we have to fight in battle, even
- 45:54Speaker 8: on the Highlanders. Sometimes the highlander the show in the movie,
- 45:59Speaker 8: they knew at some point they might have to kill
- 46:03Speaker 8: their friend. Is that not correct? That's how the process
- 46:07Speaker 8: of how there can only be one, because there can
- 46:08Speaker 8: only be one. But that don't mean when we go
- 46:10Speaker 8: to do this, we had to do it from a
- 46:13Speaker 8: sense of your skill is less than money.
- 46:16Speaker 4: We did it.
- 46:17Speaker 9: We did it on a We the last two left
- 46:19Speaker 9: like there were two hundred when we started this and
- 46:21Speaker 9: now it's down to But you mentioned Game of Thrones,
- 46:24Speaker 9: House of Dragons when they've been the need.
- 46:26Speaker 4: That is a sign of.
- 46:27Speaker 8: What now hummage, that that person is the is one.
- 46:32Speaker 9: Right that person has one, which is also a sign
- 46:35Speaker 9: of subjugation.
- 46:37Speaker 4: No you, yes, you are bowing to me, meaning that
- 46:40Speaker 4: I am your ruler, I rule you. Who is the king?
- 46:44Speaker 4: What does the king do?
- 46:45Speaker 8: Your position as ruler, as the ruler.
- 46:49Speaker 9: Commander that the commander is in charge, you rule me,
- 46:53Speaker 9: you tell me what to do the victor, and the
- 46:57Speaker 9: victor in that situation subjugates those that they have vanquished.
- 47:02Speaker 8: Where did we get to subjugating in the Olympics.
- 47:06Speaker 9: I'm saying the mindset that goes into my being offended
- 47:10Speaker 9: is rooted in all of what bowing illustrates and means
- 47:15Speaker 9: to me. That's what we're about. Down to your wife
- 47:19Speaker 9: not to ask him to marry it. I didn't get
- 47:21Speaker 9: on my knee.
- 47:22Speaker 8: Well, I'm at big Kenny. Let's not do one of
- 47:24Speaker 8: those things that the dude is missing due where the
- 47:27Speaker 8: only examples of how we see life is just through us.
- 47:31Speaker 8: The tradition is that someone bends the knee right in
- 47:35Speaker 8: a proposal.
- 47:36Speaker 4: Is that not correct?
- 47:38Speaker 9: People do that, Yes, traditionally, And I'm saying that and
- 47:41Speaker 9: most of the people you know that was the process.
- 47:45Speaker 4: And I'm saying that.
- 47:46Speaker 8: Okay, Now, there's always outliers because we're human, right, But
- 47:50Speaker 8: if nine out of ten people or eight out of
- 47:52Speaker 8: ten people do it, then the eight out of the
- 47:54Speaker 8: ten is the majority. So all have bowed if you've
- 48:01Speaker 8: been married, correct, Okay, but I get what you.
- 48:09Speaker 10: Want to someone should not bow.
- 48:11Speaker 8: Bowing in some kind of to the a rope put
- 48:16Speaker 8: in the form of a noose triggers people to think
- 48:20Speaker 8: of lynchings.
- 48:21Speaker 10: I don't know.
- 48:23Speaker 4: Bowing seems to be a trigger for you and many
- 48:28Speaker 4: others and many and in that instance.
- 48:31Speaker 8: But then someone could see them doing some things and
- 48:35Speaker 8: feel like that's coonery.
- 48:37Speaker 9: And and she has I didn't. I didn't add none
- 48:40Speaker 9: of those words. I didn't say anything. That's what I'm saying.
- 48:43Speaker 9: She could see those things, and she'd be welcome to
- 48:46Speaker 9: feel that way my entire.
- 48:50Speaker 8: Because you're in a frat, right, And most people I
- 48:53Speaker 8: know that didn't join in frat was because they the
- 48:56Speaker 8: words you're using subjugate and you're gonna tell me what
- 49:00Speaker 8: to do, right, and that's they They couldn't do that
- 49:04Speaker 8: part right. And it's like, okay, well that's you, right.
- 49:08Speaker 8: But what makes some moan wrong?
- 49:10Speaker 4: I didn't say, Rick.
- 49:12Speaker 10: Kenny about the people that might be commenting online.
- 49:18Speaker 9: Well, my point is everyone a lot of people who
- 49:22Speaker 9: are offended by people who were offended act like we
- 49:25Speaker 9: don't have a right to feel the way we feel.
- 49:28Speaker 9: That was the point I was initially trying to make,
- 49:31Speaker 9: is that when I said I felt a certain way,
- 49:33Speaker 9: people came for me with, well, why do you feel
- 49:36Speaker 9: she gotta I'm saying, just like she got a way
- 49:39Speaker 9: to feel like she feel and has that right, I
- 49:42Speaker 9: too have a right to feel like I feel and
- 49:45Speaker 9: not appreciate it. I don't care about any of what
- 49:49Speaker 9: your feelings are. That ain't got nothing to do with
- 49:51Speaker 9: what I'm saying. And that's my whole point. Everybody tries
- 49:54Speaker 9: to make it feel like just because the majority is
- 49:57Speaker 9: cool with it, that's the law.
- 49:59Speaker 4: Now.
- 49:59Speaker 9: If we vote on it, fine, But if we're talking
- 50:01Speaker 9: about opinions and preferences, I'll hold to mine and I'm
- 50:05Speaker 9: welcome to that, and I don't have to debate it
- 50:08Speaker 9: or I don't have to have it verified or somehow.
- 50:12Speaker 4: People give me permission to feel the way that I feel.
- 50:16Speaker 9: That's what I'm saying about the overall compass that we
- 50:20Speaker 9: have right now in this country is we do a
- 50:23Speaker 9: whole lot of you can't feel that way, and I'm saying,
- 50:27Speaker 9: you use a lie. I can feel how I want
- 50:29Speaker 9: to feel because you are demanding to be allowed to
- 50:33Speaker 9: feel how you feel.
- 50:34Speaker 8: And I think a lot of those people that defend
- 50:36Speaker 8: that because that minority, with the use of technology and
- 50:41Speaker 8: social media, comes off as trying to dim the moment.
- 50:48Speaker 4: That happened.
- 50:49Speaker 8: The moment was these women performing enough to be on
- 50:53Speaker 8: the podium. The storyline becomes detracting to that and it
- 50:58Speaker 8: gets around to just, oh, they shouldn't have bowed. So
- 51:03Speaker 8: instead of us talking about the three of them being
- 51:05Speaker 8: on the podium winning medals, we're talking about that somebody bowed,
- 51:12Speaker 8: so you you'd never get you're never having the conversation
- 51:16Speaker 8: of positivity of the moment that commanding Greg did something
- 51:22Speaker 8: tremendous as much as you're talking about he did it
- 51:26Speaker 8: with one braid loose. You know, he announced the cure
- 51:32Speaker 8: for cancer. But man, did you see that one braid
- 51:35Speaker 8: that was loose? I can't believe he got up there
- 51:37Speaker 8: with And that's where we get stuck to me, because
- 51:41Speaker 8: we're not celebrating them winning medals, are we?
- 51:45Speaker 12: No, that would what metals like.
- 51:48Speaker 8: It's not even it's not even important that they won medals.
- 51:51Speaker 8: We'll be back more to Sports Jock Show right after this.
- 51:56Speaker 14: Why No One got got it the hay.
- 52:02Speaker 4: He's a plot packing time by.
- 52:04Speaker 14: I Did It and get its y'all bow and dry, don't.
- 52:08Speaker 7: Bow away, or of the Sports Josh Show with Wayne
- 52:11Speaker 7: dam videos coming up next, here's.
- 52:13Speaker 4: Heather with the weather.
- 52:14Speaker 21: Well, it's beautiful out there, Sonny and seventy five, almost
- 52:18Speaker 21: a little chilly in the shade. Now, let's get a
- 52:21Speaker 21: read on the inside of your car. It is hot.
- 52:24Speaker 21: You've only been parked a short time and it's already
- 52:27Speaker 21: ninety nine degrees in there. Let's not leave children in
- 52:30Speaker 21: the back seat while running errands. It only takes a
- 52:33Speaker 21: few minutes for their body temperatures to rise, and that
- 52:36Speaker 21: could be fatal.
- 52:37Speaker 8: Cars get hot fast and can be deadly.
- 52:39Speaker 4: Never leave a town in a car.
- 52:41Speaker 8: A message from Nitsan and the ad Council.
- 52:42Speaker 12: Hurting the game.
- 52:44Speaker 30: We tough it out, feel exhausted, we push on feeling down.
- 52:49Speaker 30: We pull ourselves up by the bootstraps. But there are
- 52:53Speaker 30: times when bootstraps aren't enough, when stress gets to us
- 52:57Speaker 30: and we need to talk to someone about what we're
- 52:59Speaker 30: really going through. So we're going to reach out because

- 54:04Speaker 4: And now back to the sports job Wayne Gandy.
- 54:09Speaker 20: Center Court on sports news gossip blah blah, blah blah blah.
- 54:48Speaker 4: Wait back to this what shock show.
- 54:50Speaker 8: I'm the sword shock Wayne Gandy, the twenty three times
- 54:54Speaker 8: Grand Slam champion, maybe the greatest female athlete in our
- 54:58Speaker 8: country ever. Serena Williams accusing the Peninsula Hotel over in
- 55:04Speaker 8: Paris of not accommodating her and her kids for emil
- 55:08Speaker 8: at a restaurant, a rooftop restaurant. That restaurant has responded
- 55:15Speaker 8: and let miss Serena Williams know that even basically though
- 55:22Speaker 8: the restaurant looked and was unoccupied at the time, it
- 55:28Speaker 8: had been fully booked. They only had one or two
- 55:32Speaker 8: tables that were not booked, and those tables were for
- 55:39Speaker 8: their next door restaurant for their night, and they were
- 55:47Speaker 8: fully booked as well. So a couple of tables belonged
- 55:49Speaker 8: to another restaurant. That restaurant had booked those tables, and
- 55:55Speaker 8: I guess someone had if it was a nice enough
- 55:57Speaker 8: place to draw Serena and you're talking about the Olympics,
- 56:01Speaker 8: someone had already booked the whole venue. So how true
- 56:08Speaker 8: is that? We don't know. I just thought it was
- 56:11Speaker 8: very interesting how quick she out at the restaurant.
- 56:16Speaker 9: Hey, I can't get in here, they say it's packed
- 56:18Speaker 9: and over booked. No, what was the purpose of that,
- 56:23Speaker 9: What was the purpose of her saying that y'all wouldn't
- 56:26Speaker 9: let me in?
- 56:27Speaker 8: I guess I'm Serena Williams. My kids is hungry, and
- 56:33Speaker 8: y'all should accommodate me.
- 56:35Speaker 4: I mean, and we will. And I didn't know.
- 56:38Speaker 12: Is if y'all open right?
- 56:40Speaker 9: Well, I'm saying, in ten minutes it's gonna be one
- 56:43Speaker 9: hundred and eighty five people here for a private event,
- 56:46Speaker 9: so we can't do that. Or in thirty minutes the
- 56:49Speaker 9: one hundred and eighty five people gonna start showing up,
- 56:52Speaker 9: and all of these tables have been reserved and booked,
- 56:54Speaker 9: and these people next door they got a waiting list too,
- 56:58Speaker 9: and those tables belong to that ain't even in my control.
- 57:01Speaker 4: Miss Williams. I'm sorry.
- 57:03Speaker 9: I'm so so so sorry, but you know, I'm just
- 57:06Speaker 9: doing my job.
- 57:08Speaker 8: And the other question I had was she staying at
- 57:10Speaker 8: the Peninsula Hotel. I couldn't figure that out. Was that
- 57:15Speaker 8: her hotel that she.
- 57:16Speaker 4: Was staying there?
- 57:16Speaker 9: Not from what I saw she's Serena. Does she know
- 57:20Speaker 9: where she want to go in Paris? Because she'd have
- 57:22Speaker 9: been there plenty of times running French.
- 57:24Speaker 4: Opens and stuff. You know, she's Serena.
- 57:26Speaker 9: So I'm gonna just roll up in here because I'm
- 57:28Speaker 9: Serena during the international event of the world.
- 57:32Speaker 12: Like that particular restaurant. She had been there before.
- 57:34Speaker 9: Now do you think some of that is Huberts. I'm
- 57:37Speaker 9: Serena Williams. This is an event where there are everybody
- 57:41Speaker 9: who's anybody is here this week, and I'm a somebody,
- 57:48Speaker 9: and you gonna treat me like the somebody I am,
- 57:51Speaker 9: even in this sea of somebody's I won't my Serena treatment.
- 57:56Speaker 9: Now at the French Open, I come here and y'all
- 57:59Speaker 9: roll out a red carpet and fall over backwards to
- 58:02Speaker 9: accommodate me. So what is it about this breakdancing event?
- 58:06Speaker 9: I can't get up in here and get a table.
- 58:08Speaker 8: Well, some of these powerful people, powerful companies have already
- 58:13Speaker 8: booked for this night.
- 58:15Speaker 4: Yeah you said, a breakdancing Federation.
- 58:17Speaker 8: They're over at the swimming venue and when that's over,
- 58:22Speaker 8: they're gonna come over here and we've already set up
- 58:24Speaker 8: everything for them.
- 58:26Speaker 4: But you see Olympia, you see a idea.
- 58:30Speaker 8: So that's another Was she staying there and why did
- 58:33Speaker 8: her people call ahead all of that. I don't know
- 58:36Speaker 8: now if you're just walking down the street and your
- 58:38Speaker 8: stomach starts growling and you decide, oh, we'll block away
- 58:41Speaker 8: from the peninsula, let's go over there because you got
- 58:45Speaker 8: a great view.
- 58:46Speaker 10: You rolling the dice.
- 58:47Speaker 8: Then you're rolling the dice because you're most likely if
- 58:52Speaker 8: you had your people.
- 58:53Speaker 4: And I'm not saying her people didn't. I don't know the.
- 58:54Speaker 8: Whole story from her point, but if her people called,
- 58:58Speaker 8: they would have explained or maybe work something out to
- 59:02Speaker 8: get set sir a table set in that kind of way.
- 59:07Speaker 4: And now this is the thing.
- 59:08Speaker 9: We don't project things into situations, but we do recognize
- 59:12Speaker 9: the established realities. You a person that understands and receives
- 59:16Speaker 9: VIP treatment. You have people that contact people to let
- 59:20Speaker 9: people know when you come in.
- 59:21Speaker 4: We know how that works.
- 59:23Speaker 9: We know that somebody somewhere ain't just got Serena and
- 59:27Speaker 9: her family out willy nilly walking round Paris by theyself.
- 59:32Speaker 9: You have people that facilitate these things. Someone surely told you,
- 59:36Speaker 9: boo boo, you can't get in the peninsula today. You
- 59:41Speaker 9: can't or that was again, I'm getting in the peninsula.
- 59:45Speaker 4: I bet you. I get in here.
- 59:46Speaker 9: So I would love for the story to be fully
- 59:51Speaker 9: aired out, just like with Terrell Davis.
- 59:53Speaker 8: If IU Stadium down in Florida, correct, yes, Florida International
- 59:59Speaker 8: Universe versus the pit Bull, the hip hop artist is
- 1:00:04Speaker 8: buying the naming rights.
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: Has he said, what name is going to.
- 1:00:08Speaker 8: Be pit Bull Stadium? It's gonna be pit Bull Stadium? Okay,
- 1:00:12Speaker 8: interesting name to go with. I didn't know if it
- 1:00:15Speaker 8: was going to be his company name, things like that.
- 1:00:19Speaker 8: Typically people don't name it after themselves, after themselves, and
- 1:00:23Speaker 8: that that's what I'm saying.
- 1:00:24Speaker 9: And now how much was it command you, Greg to
- 1:00:26Speaker 9: get the naming rights?
- 1:00:29Speaker 11: Now to I was reading a five year deal or
- 1:00:31Speaker 11: a total of six million dollars, but now it's a
- 1:00:35Speaker 11: ten year deal, so we're probably talking about twelve million dollars.
- 1:00:42Speaker 9: And and so be on the lookout for black toning
- 1:00:46Speaker 9: them stadium? What coming with Bowl game coming to a
- 1:00:50Speaker 9: venue near you?
- 1:00:52Speaker 8: And and sometimes in this kind of I don't know
- 1:00:54Speaker 8: his connection to FIU, but with the colleges, if he
- 1:00:57Speaker 8: had his a daughter or a brother that works there,
- 1:01:00Speaker 8: they come to you in these kind of programs because
- 1:01:03Speaker 8: just like we're gonna talk a little later about Howard University.
- 1:01:07Speaker 8: You have a department that basically that's their job. Hey
- 1:01:11Speaker 8: we need naming rights right and hey we found someone.
- 1:01:16Speaker 9: Fail named black Tony say he got say seven say
- 1:01:22Speaker 9: seven million to ten million gonna be in cash.
- 1:01:24Speaker 8: We'll talk about those stipulations on the when we come
- 1:01:27Speaker 8: back from break more of the Sports Jock Show right
- 1:01:29Speaker 8: after this.
- 1:01:38Speaker 14: I feel to wake up and beat it any your
- 1:01:41Speaker 14: inn trying to get that Koching number.
- 1:01:46Speaker 4: But your.
- 1:01:50Speaker 7: John Boy Wayne Born of the Sports John Hill with
- 1:01:53Speaker 7: Wayne Dandidius coming up next.
- 1:01:55Speaker 16: And now let's talk about something exciting life insurance. Three
- 1:01:58Speaker 16: quarters of Americans believe that coverage represents a critical piece
- 1:02:02Speaker 16: of financial security, yet only forty nine percent actually have
- 1:02:05Speaker 16: life insurance.
- 1:02:06Speaker 27: When I was twenty five, me and my wife were
- 1:02:08Speaker 27: just getting started with our family and thought, we live
- 1:02:10Speaker 27: forever life insurance. What's the last thing on my mind?
- 1:02:13Speaker 27: What about you? Will you be leaving benefits or bills?
- 1:02:16Speaker 27: When I was forty, with a kid in college and
- 1:02:18Speaker 27: bills piling up, I was worried how my family will
- 1:02:20Speaker 27: survive without me? That's what I'm in an appointment with
- 1:02:22Speaker 27: the insurance informant.
- 1:02:23Speaker 16: Information gives you power and life insurance gives your family
- 1:02:26Speaker 16: security no matter what stage of life you're in.
- 1:02:29Speaker 27: Now that I'm older, I don't worry about whether I
- 1:02:31Speaker 27: leave my family with bills or benefits.
- 1:02:33Speaker 16: The answer is easy, whether you're twenty five or fifty,
- 1:02:35Speaker 16: whether you earn a little or a lot, all you
- 1:02:38Speaker 16: need is the insurance informant to help you build a
- 1:02:40Speaker 16: foundation of security, because without you, your family will have
- 1:02:44Speaker 16: two options, benefits or bills. Which legacy will you leave behind?
- 1:02:48Speaker 16: Log on today benefits or bills dot Com? That's benefits
- 1:02:53Speaker 16: or bills dot com?
- 1:02:58Speaker 9: No excusing, I.
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: Don't have any shall share your suck and we hold
- 1:03:04Speaker 4: the world ridsom for excuse me while I whipped this out.
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: Shoot broadcasting live and it led her Georgia to this.
- 1:03:14Speaker 7: This is the Sports Shock Ship with Wayne Dandy, you
- 1:03:19Speaker 7: big Vegan me up?
- 1:03:21Speaker 20: Can you win me down again?
- 1:03:23Speaker 5: You flank me down?
- 1:03:24Speaker 8: Do come to Wow?
- 1:03:26Speaker 4: Comes to contact, get them, come to Mark?
- 1:03:28Speaker 29: Is it just ting?
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: I'm gonna do it, Beggin.
- 1:03:34Speaker 10: I'm gonna go on the way you Vegan.
- 1:03:38Speaker 8: Welcome back to this wart shock shower. I'm this sports
- 1:03:40Speaker 8: Shock Wing Candy. Good morning to you. How much Olympic coverage.
- 1:03:44Speaker 8: Have you watched have you been delighted to see? H
- 1:03:49Speaker 8: It has been some great finishes, especially in the pool,
- 1:03:52Speaker 8: especially out on the track. A couple of more days here.
- 1:03:57Speaker 8: The two hundred meter championship be crowned here today along
- 1:04:01Speaker 8: with the four hundred meter hurdler. Sydney McLaughlan, Lrony mcloughland, LaVarne. Yeah,
- 1:04:12Speaker 8: as I said, Sydney dropped that last name, keep him.
- 1:04:15Speaker 8: I ain't saying get a divorce he.
- 1:04:17Speaker 4: Because it mouth got tight when you say it. Hello, bro,
- 1:04:21Speaker 4: I'm a good man.
- 1:04:23Speaker 8: We said you can stay, mister lavron We talked about
- 1:04:26Speaker 8: the break dancing coming up here in the last couple
- 1:04:28Speaker 8: of days. Uh, closing ceremonies are Sunday, Sorry, but you
- 1:04:32Speaker 8: will have some events that go all the way till
- 1:04:34Speaker 8: Sunday morning. I think the women's basketball final is Wednesday morning.
- 1:04:39Speaker 8: For the problem, I'm just saying for the US, I'm
- 1:04:42Speaker 8: gonna go ahead on and call it, UH that we
- 1:04:44Speaker 8: will get that far. But closing ceremonies or Sunday night. Preseason,
- 1:04:49Speaker 8: as we talked about a couple of games on tap
- 1:04:52Speaker 8: tonight and during the preseason, your team could be on
- 1:04:56Speaker 8: any of the four Thursday, Friday, Saturday Sunday night. Only
- 1:05:00Speaker 8: three preseason games and a kickoff game is Thursday, September
- 1:05:05Speaker 8: the fifth on the Ravens and the Chiefs will do battle.
- 1:05:10Speaker 8: Most likely will be in Kansas City to drop the
- 1:05:14Speaker 8: banner and get.
- 1:05:16Speaker 9: Their rings or at least show you show you that
- 1:05:19Speaker 9: this is who y'all need to beat again, don't try us.
- 1:05:24Speaker 8: Lamar Jackson says he's back. He's lost a couple of weeks.
- 1:05:28Speaker 8: He said he felt a little fluggish year, hoping to
- 1:05:32Speaker 8: feel faster. To me, it's just his commitment to understand
- 1:05:35Speaker 8: whatever they're going to win, he's going to have to
- 1:05:37Speaker 8: do go through him. Yeah he's not just go, but
- 1:05:41Speaker 8: go through him running and throwing. So whatever dream he
- 1:05:44Speaker 8: had of just being a pocket passer, I think he
- 1:05:47Speaker 8: is accepted.
- 1:05:47Speaker 10: You know what.
- 1:05:48Speaker 8: I'm gonna have to ride this dual threat thing to
- 1:05:51Speaker 8: a super Bowl or not.
- 1:05:54Speaker 9: It doesn't seem like from lack of them not trying.
- 1:05:58Speaker 9: It seems like they try and give him the ability
- 1:06:01Speaker 9: to sit in the pocket and pass. But do they
- 1:06:05Speaker 9: Is it because they're playing the Ravens that every package.
- 1:06:09Speaker 4: Has a blitz? You know what I'm saying?
- 1:06:11Speaker 9: It seems like no matter who he plays, it ends
- 1:06:14Speaker 9: up being that dual threat thing.
- 1:06:17Speaker 4: Very rarely will he get a chance to just quarterback.
- 1:06:20Speaker 8: Well, he has a probably a big package of what
- 1:06:23Speaker 8: they call that read option right, which means read option
- 1:06:26Speaker 8: is you know, a play on he has. He has
- 1:06:29Speaker 8: two plays in his head. Is predicated on a position
- 1:06:34Speaker 8: and how far. If this guy's come, you run the ball.
- 1:06:37Speaker 8: If this guy goes, you throw the ball, something like that.
- 1:06:40Speaker 8: So when you see it's not necessarily the offensive coordinator
- 1:06:43Speaker 8: is saying one or the other. Right, he's leaving it
- 1:06:46Speaker 8: in the hands of Lamar. So based on how he
- 1:06:49Speaker 8: felt this morning riding over in the mall bop right
- 1:06:54Speaker 8: he got to the stadium, felt like today I'm gonna
- 1:06:56Speaker 8: throw the ball.
- 1:06:57Speaker 9: I'm too rich to I'm in the back. I'm too
- 1:07:01Speaker 9: rich to be just running on my feet. And then
- 1:07:04Speaker 9: he might come over and think, you know what, I'm
- 1:07:06Speaker 9: a V twelve, I'm a whole V twelve.
- 1:07:08Speaker 4: I'm gonna show them today.
- 1:07:10Speaker 8: I was reading up about the pit Bull. It says
- 1:07:12Speaker 8: Pitbull buys naming rights to Florida International Stadium. The power
- 1:07:17Speaker 8: brokers down there at FIU are saying this is groundbreaking.
- 1:07:20Speaker 8: They kind of know they're kind of stepping out and
- 1:07:23Speaker 8: feeling they're going to be at the forefront of what
- 1:07:26Speaker 8: they feel will start happening. This deal is five years.
- 1:07:30Speaker 8: I see five years one point two comanche from what
- 1:07:34Speaker 8: you're saying, but easily it could be ten years. That's
- 1:07:36Speaker 8: usually what it is with stadium rights, a ten or
- 1:07:40Speaker 8: twenty year bence. You see that with the big companies
- 1:07:43Speaker 8: like Delta. If you're ever wondering why your stadium changes names,
- 1:07:47Speaker 8: it's like, after so many years they do the numbers,
- 1:07:50Speaker 8: if they don't feel that really pulled.
- 1:07:52Speaker 4: In their.
- 1:07:56Speaker 8: Number, their profits projection, then they get out of that name.
- 1:08:00Speaker 8: I mean rights. It's not as much. It's more than
- 1:08:05Speaker 8: it used to be, but it's not as much as
- 1:08:06Speaker 8: you think.
- 1:08:07Speaker 9: Right, I'm saying one point two million for five years,
- 1:08:12Speaker 9: is that what you read sports job?
- 1:08:13Speaker 4: Yeah, which would be six million bucks.
- 1:08:16Speaker 12: I've seen a ten year agreement.
- 1:08:19Speaker 8: Which would be twelve, so it could be five or ten,
- 1:08:21Speaker 8: but it's usually it's not a one two, three year thing.
- 1:08:25Speaker 9: So yeah, so this could easily be Jake Paul Stadium. Okay,
- 1:08:29Speaker 9: no problem. From what you see in road Seine, the
- 1:08:34Speaker 9: five years that is for sure, and then he'll have
- 1:08:37Speaker 9: the option to renew the agreement after.
- 1:08:39Speaker 8: Five Okay for additional first.
- 1:08:41Speaker 9: Now, with it being attached to an institute of higher learning,
- 1:08:45Speaker 9: are there any stipulations or limitations on the language and
- 1:08:52Speaker 9: verbiage that you can use in naming these venues.
- 1:08:58Speaker 8: I haven't read anything like that right now. I'm also reading,
- 1:09:02Speaker 8: as you said, a lot of stipulations for both sides
- 1:09:06Speaker 8: with that, and that's and this is some of what
- 1:09:08Speaker 8: even when you hear somebody bought part of the team,
- 1:09:12Speaker 8: sometimes that's just that person being offered the percentage of
- 1:09:19Speaker 8: what they would be paying for the seats on the sideline.
- 1:09:23Speaker 8: So if the Knicks went.
- 1:09:24Speaker 10: To Spike Lee and for those two chairs that Spike has,
- 1:09:29Speaker 10: he's paying one point five million, the Knicks would just
- 1:09:35Speaker 10: offer that in ownership.
- 1:09:37Speaker 8: It just kind of, you know, it hits a little checks,
- 1:09:39Speaker 8: a lot of boxes. You're going to spend the money anyway.
- 1:09:42Speaker 8: And when you look at pit Bull, that one point
- 1:09:45Speaker 8: naming rights it gets. It's a twenty thousand seat stadium,
- 1:09:50Speaker 8: it's available for pitt Bull to use ten days per
- 1:09:53Speaker 8: year throughout the course of the deal. Pit Bull's vodka
- 1:09:59Speaker 8: company Volley three oh five vodka will also be available
- 1:10:04Speaker 8: for purchase at the venue, so it becomes just like
- 1:10:09Speaker 8: you know, That's why I said it's not surprising that
- 1:10:12Speaker 8: he would do this. This is the era where you'll see,
- 1:10:17Speaker 8: like they're saying, people will allow Lebron James to name
- 1:10:22Speaker 8: a stadium and Jason will come. But it's business now.
- 1:10:26Speaker 8: That's why I ask why maybe Pitt Bull would name
- 1:10:30Speaker 8: it after his whatever, his com volley instead of stadium
- 1:10:36Speaker 8: or three oh five stadium based on but he's in
- 1:10:40Speaker 8: the Miami area. It gives him somewhere to throw concerts
- 1:10:44Speaker 8: about Pitt Bull and friends. Is him flow rider? On
- 1:10:48Speaker 8: their side, they'll probably get a part of that. Yeah,
- 1:10:52Speaker 8: I'm sure they did. At the very least, they'd get
- 1:10:54Speaker 8: the concession.
- 1:10:57Speaker 9: They they their box office would handle the ticket sales
- 1:11:01Speaker 9: and they'd get that cut of the box office. So
- 1:11:03Speaker 9: it's a win win, and ten times a year, it
- 1:11:06Speaker 9: wouldn't be hard to get some headlining acts together.
- 1:11:10Speaker 4: Ten times.
- 1:11:11Speaker 9: It almost like he's set his own residency resident. There
- 1:11:14Speaker 9: you go in miam in. I ain't got to go
- 1:11:17Speaker 9: to Bate.
- 1:11:17Speaker 8: And I don't need it in January in February because
- 1:11:22Speaker 8: it's cold, right or I'm just saying I'm gonna use
- 1:11:25Speaker 8: the other ten months, so I'm not gonna use it
- 1:11:27Speaker 8: in these two months. But it's almost like an own read.
- 1:11:29Speaker 8: I'm used three days in July. Yeah, And we have
- 1:11:32Speaker 8: a story about Howard University. Basically, they are, as you said,
- 1:11:37Speaker 8: Commandchi offering up a third of the basketball program. Yes,
- 1:11:43Speaker 8: for a certain amount of money.
- 1:11:45Speaker 9: What's the what's the amount? One hundred million, one hundred million,
- 1:11:49Speaker 9: now fo one hundred million dollars? How profitable is Howard's
- 1:11:57Speaker 9: basketball program? What am I getting in return for that?
- 1:12:02Speaker 9: Pit Bull has obviously gotten a nice return on his investment.
- 1:12:09Speaker 9: He's got the use of the venue, He's got the
- 1:12:12Speaker 9: licensing for his distribution of his beverage inside the venue
- 1:12:17Speaker 9: during their sporting events. He's got some other licensing opportunities
- 1:12:23Speaker 9: available to him. I give you one hundred meal and
- 1:12:28Speaker 9: that's for one point two million a year, A hundred
- 1:12:31Speaker 9: mel has Howard basketball team, has their whole athletic program
- 1:12:35Speaker 9: ever made one hundred million dollars.
- 1:12:38Speaker 8: Well, typically in those situations, it comes with that same
- 1:12:41Speaker 8: kind of your name the building. It becomes almost like
- 1:12:44Speaker 8: naming right. It is not like you pay one hundred
- 1:12:46Speaker 8: million all at once. Right, it's a certain probably pro rated,
- 1:12:53Speaker 8: probably big tax deductible. You know, I'm reading right here
- 1:12:57Speaker 8: that Howard's Medical School is going to receive one hundred
- 1:13:00Speaker 8: and seventy five million dollar gift from Bloomberg. So I
- 1:13:10Speaker 8: don't know if that's part of it, but you said
- 1:13:13Speaker 8: it's one hundred million dollars for a third of the program.
- 1:13:16Speaker 8: And we aren't privy to where these sports programs. The
- 1:13:20Speaker 8: sports stock has been predicting college sports is just going
- 1:13:25Speaker 8: to become companies. I've been saying that a while, that
- 1:13:28Speaker 8: it's going to just kind of be I play for
- 1:13:32Speaker 8: foot I played for the Auburn football for Auburn University,
- 1:13:37Speaker 8: and I played football for them in their sports department.
- 1:13:41Speaker 4: But I don't necessarily I'm gonna.
- 1:13:43Speaker 12: Employee play for Auburn Football inc.
- 1:13:45Speaker 10: Ink.
- 1:13:46Speaker 8: I don't go to school, right, I just played for
- 1:13:49Speaker 8: their football team.
- 1:13:51Speaker 9: I'm an employee with marketing for the Auburn Football Incorporated.
- 1:13:56Speaker 8: And once they go there, then it just becomes like
- 1:14:00Speaker 8: the Falcons. It's just become like a pro team. So
- 1:14:02Speaker 8: we start running it that way, you have people, it
- 1:14:05Speaker 8: start shaping up that way as well.
- 1:14:08Speaker 9: How at the Rucker so yeah, you start doing yeah,
- 1:14:13Speaker 9: And I'm saying now a lot of that will be
- 1:14:16Speaker 9: can we find ways to market this and generate a profit?
- 1:14:20Speaker 9: And those things will happen, though, I guarantee you those
- 1:14:24Speaker 9: things will start to happen with the privatizing of institutional sports.
- 1:14:29Speaker 8: And here in Atlanta, just going back to that Pitbull thing,
- 1:14:31Speaker 8: you have smaller venues like a Kinnesas State or you know,
- 1:14:36Speaker 8: someone like that Georgia State that might be a little
- 1:14:39Speaker 8: more open to anyone naming rights. Your big places are
- 1:14:46Speaker 8: still going to most likely go with companies individual because
- 1:14:52Speaker 8: the individual is a lot that means everything that you
- 1:14:56Speaker 8: do say it will be a reflection of us US
- 1:15:00Speaker 8: right Whereas if I name it Coca Cola Stadium, it's
- 1:15:05Speaker 8: whoever respected brand. It's a brand, you know it, And
- 1:15:08Speaker 8: I got somewhere to distance whoever works for Coke and Coke.
- 1:15:14Speaker 8: But if it's Pittbull Stadium and he gets caught with
- 1:15:16Speaker 8: Big Kenny.
- 1:15:17Speaker 9: Big Kenny Arena and everybody else, no, not now Kenny.
- 1:15:24Speaker 4: We had the convention coming.
- 1:15:26Speaker 8: We'll be back more to Sports doc show right after this.
- 1:15:34Speaker 8: In the back of the busy.
- 1:15:37Speaker 7: Stuff, john't Boy, Wayne Born of the Sports John Show

- 1:15:48Speaker 31: In sitcoms, when someone has a problem, they just blurt
- 1:15:52Speaker 31: it out and move on.
- 1:15:53Speaker 32: Well, I lost my job and my parakeet is missing.
- 1:15:57Speaker 4: How is your day?
- 1:15:59Speaker 31: But the is different. Managing life's challenges can be overwhelming,
- 1:16:03Speaker 31: So what do we do?
- 1:16:04Speaker 4: We get support?

- 1:17:12Speaker 19: they're definitely not an excuse to take your frustrations out
- 1:17:15Speaker 19: on the official or the opponent. They're about teaching lessons
- 1:17:19Speaker 19: like perseverance, respect and empathy so students can learn and
- 1:17:23Speaker 19: grow as people, not just as players. We all have

- 1:19:16Speaker 8: of applause. Sam Elliott. I've always liked Sam Elliott. The
- 1:19:23Speaker 8: actor is eighty years of age. Sam plays a lot
- 1:19:31Speaker 8: of good Westerns. Yeah, let me tell you so. He
- 1:19:34Speaker 8: plays that Western role.
- 1:19:38Speaker 4: You come down here and you mean good. Ain't no problem.
- 1:19:42Speaker 4: But it's not. We'll bury you.

- 1:20:10Speaker 8: he went to Yukon for a year. But when he
- 1:20:11Speaker 8: came in he was seventeen. Okay, that's okay, that's his story.
- 1:20:15Speaker 8: I knew it was somewhere. He was just eighteen when
- 1:20:17Speaker 8: he got there. That's why you think it's been around
- 1:20:19Speaker 8: so long. He looked fifty one. Long time in Detroit,
- 1:20:24Speaker 8: where he spent most of his career. Thirty one years old.
- 1:20:27Speaker 8: Antonio Bendairas is sixty four. Riddick Bow Remember Ridick Bowl,

- 1:21:59Speaker 8: King's area is forty five. I always mess up the

- 1:22:33Speaker 8: the money, the money, it got it.
- 1:22:35Speaker 4: Be Prime, Prime Time.
- 1:22:39Speaker 10: Oh you got that, you you got that, you got
- 1:22:43Speaker 10: that on you got that on speed dial. But I
- 1:22:46Speaker 10: asked for a little listen to the perfect beat and
- 1:22:49Speaker 10: you gotta scroll nine pages.
- 1:22:52Speaker 4: But but that's a new thing that Prime, say.
- 1:23:00Speaker 8: Primetime fifty seven years old as coach Prime. Not as
- 1:23:04Speaker 8: many eyes on Colorado this year, which is a good
- 1:23:07Speaker 8: thing right now. It's a good thing. I just played football.
- 1:23:13Speaker 8: But a lot of pressure on Dion and his sons
- 1:23:16Speaker 8: and Travis Hunter to find a bowl game this year,
- 1:23:21Speaker 8: to find.
- 1:23:22Speaker 9: A winning season first, you know I would imagine that. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:23:27Speaker 9: I guess winning season get you a bowl again. It
- 1:23:32Speaker 9: used to be a time when you had to win
- 1:23:34Speaker 9: a lot of games. But now just six and six
- 1:23:36Speaker 9: get you and we can go to the Pitt Bull Bar.
- 1:23:41Speaker 8: Mister three h five. Taylor Swift, a concert of herd
- 1:23:45Speaker 8: has been canceled from terrorist threats, which is interesting that
- 1:23:52Speaker 8: somebody wants to but you know, she draws a huge
- 1:23:55Speaker 8: crowd and we saw this last year. Was it with
- 1:23:58Speaker 8: Coal Play in Great Britain when they were there to
- 1:24:02Speaker 8: perform What city is Taylor's? She was in concert canceled
- 1:24:07Speaker 8: in Austria Austria and three shows got canceled. But we've
- 1:24:14Speaker 8: seen before these radical groups, and I believe the one
- 1:24:17Speaker 8: that the Coldplay concert, they didn't catch any of those assailants.
- 1:24:21Speaker 8: Those people came in and killed hundreds and exploded explosives
- 1:24:26Speaker 8: and all of that and then got away. So to
- 1:24:31Speaker 8: err on the side of caution, I imagine. I also
- 1:24:33Speaker 8: saw an article you guys, because I know you guys
- 1:24:36Speaker 8: do money apps, cash apps and stuff, you have Zel.
- 1:24:41Speaker 4: I do uh.
- 1:24:42Speaker 8: They were saying there's some scamming going on with Zel.
- 1:24:46Speaker 9: Zel has always had issues that they have cautioned users against.
- 1:24:56Speaker 13: Now.
- 1:24:57Speaker 9: The thing about Zel, unlike other cash services, is that
- 1:25:05Speaker 9: Zail is directly the bank lets you use Zail to
- 1:25:11Speaker 9: transfer money directly from your account to another person's account.
- 1:25:16Speaker 9: Cash app lets you transfer it from your account to
- 1:25:19Speaker 9: the cash app platform and then dispense it from that
- 1:25:23Speaker 9: platform to the account. This is a direct so once
- 1:25:27Speaker 9: they get it, there's no cash app can cancel. You
- 1:25:31Speaker 9: can cancel the transfers and all of that.
- 1:25:33Speaker 8: But but Zil has had some scamming. The banks that
- 1:25:39Speaker 8: are behind Zel are saying they feel like if they
- 1:25:45Speaker 8: pay off it just continue to have people run the
- 1:25:48Speaker 8: scam right, So if you have Zail Google and look up, yeah,
- 1:25:54Speaker 8: you gotta be careful. We gotta be carefulut they're scamming
- 1:25:58Speaker 8: and all that reimbursement stuff. We'll be back with more
- 1:26:00Speaker 8: to Sports Stock Show right after.
- 1:26:02Speaker 16: This pictured me.

- 1:29:23Speaker 13: to you.
- 1:29:23Speaker 4: Come on Greg mc kenny in the studio with me.
- 1:29:26Speaker 10: Uh.
- 1:29:26Speaker 8: We are in the first week of preseason games all
- 1:29:30Speaker 8: around the league. Over the next three four days. UH,
- 1:29:34Speaker 8: you get the chance to finally see your team in
- 1:29:37Speaker 8: some live action, UH and decide whether you think they
- 1:29:42Speaker 8: are going to New Orleans come February for the Super Bowl.
- 1:29:48Speaker 8: But we also have a lot of great Olympics ahead
- 1:29:51Speaker 8: of us as well. You got all the on the
- 1:29:54Speaker 8: track events, the two hundred meters, the four hundred meter finals,
- 1:29:59Speaker 8: the four hundred, the hurdles final, a lot of relays
- 1:30:04Speaker 8: will be crowned, which is always fun. I think people
- 1:30:06Speaker 8: love the relays as much as anything else in the
- 1:30:10Speaker 8: different speed categories. And you got the US men's and
- 1:30:14Speaker 8: women's basketball as well, still on tap to try to
- 1:30:18Speaker 8: bring home the goal. Big Kenny had one story real
- 1:30:22Speaker 8: quick about Lauren Hill.
- 1:30:24Speaker 4: Yes. She canceled her tour.
- 1:30:27Speaker 8: And blames the media Yes for sensationalizing her tardiness.
- 1:30:32Speaker 4: Her canceled shows.
- 1:30:34Speaker 9: Her tour has been canceled due to lack of ticket sales,
- 1:30:38Speaker 9: and she says it's because when she was missing shows
- 1:30:43Speaker 9: and showing up hours late four shows, the media sensationalized
- 1:30:47Speaker 9: that and basically tarnished her brand.
- 1:30:50Speaker 4: So you were not late, No, No, I was late.
- 1:30:53Speaker 4: I'm just saying y'all just kept talking about it though.
- 1:30:55Speaker 8: Yeah, but you relate for like four of the five shows.
- 1:31:00Speaker 9: It wasn't but like three, three or four hours late
- 1:31:03Speaker 9: though for four or five show. I made the one
- 1:31:07Speaker 9: show bruh.
- 1:31:07Speaker 8: We were just warning the fans that you're gonna be late.
- 1:31:12Speaker 8: They're gonna get there at seven, right, expecting you to
- 1:31:15Speaker 8: come on at eight thirty, but you're not going to
- 1:31:18Speaker 8: get there until eleven.
- 1:31:21Speaker 9: And when I got there, I told them y'all ought
- 1:31:23Speaker 9: to be happy. I even showed up. You see what
- 1:31:25Speaker 9: I'm saying. I mean, the fact that I'm here and
- 1:31:28Speaker 9: I'm Lauren ought to be enough. But bless up, you know,
- 1:31:32Speaker 9: and it hurt so bad. And then I went into
- 1:31:34Speaker 9: my thing. But now they ain't nobody buying my ticket.
- 1:31:38Speaker 12: But she's well.
- 1:31:40Speaker 11: The tour is supposed to start as of disrecording tomorrow,
- 1:31:45Speaker 11: but they've just canceled the North American UH tour dates
- 1:31:51Speaker 11: the you that says the UK and called off shows
- 1:31:53Speaker 11: in the UK are moving forward as planned because they
- 1:31:57Speaker 11: call also for now.
- 1:31:58Speaker 12: They haven't canceled them yet. They still another two months.
- 1:32:01Speaker 9: Okay, so so because them folks over there don't really
- 1:32:06Speaker 9: care about time like that, they willing to put up with.
- 1:32:09Speaker 8: Lauren Harrison buck Kerr of the Chiefs got paid last
- 1:32:16Speaker 8: week to become the highest paid kicker in the league.
- 1:32:21Speaker 8: He has came to prominence ever since his speech yes
- 1:32:25Speaker 8: and his speech yes he want them, he want them pregnant.
- 1:32:29Speaker 9: In the kitchen today, as I stand here in front
- 1:32:32Speaker 9: of one of the most prestigious women universities in this
- 1:32:37Speaker 9: car in the world, I want to say the stuff
- 1:32:40Speaker 9: you did to get here to graduation, Deessa.
- 1:32:45Speaker 4: But what you.
- 1:32:46Speaker 9: Really want to do is go get yourself a husband, girl,
- 1:32:51Speaker 9: and cook for him and eye his clothes, and hey,
- 1:32:54Speaker 9: I use some babies, because you ain't gonna be happy
- 1:32:57Speaker 9: till you cook and clean and have some babies.
- 1:32:59Speaker 4: Peace out.
- 1:33:00Speaker 8: It was something like that, A little bit, a little
- 1:33:03Speaker 8: bit like that. Yea, not completely, but it was in
- 1:33:05Speaker 8: that paraframe. It was in that vein of conversation. The Falcons.
- 1:33:11Speaker 8: We will see. Rundell Moore, one of the receivers brought
- 1:33:15Speaker 8: in this off season, had to be air cast off
- 1:33:19Speaker 8: the field. In practice. Typically air casts used to be
- 1:33:25Speaker 8: air cast. It was a season ending. They had to
- 1:33:27Speaker 8: bring the air cast to get you off. I mean,
- 1:33:30Speaker 8: something broke and they need to stabilize it. No word
- 1:33:34Speaker 8: from what I've seen since yesterday of how bad the
- 1:33:38Speaker 8: injury is. But they had him tapped as the third
- 1:33:41Speaker 8: or fourth receiver for this new Falcon lineup. The Giants
- 1:33:46Speaker 8: and the Lions got in a fight the other day,
- 1:33:50Speaker 8: brawl that practice. Remember I said, they have those inner
- 1:33:54Speaker 8: squad practices more and more. Now each got fined two
- 1:33:58Speaker 8: hundred thousand dollars fights at joint practices, which is interesting
- 1:34:03Speaker 8: to someone who played that those practices now are regulated.
- 1:34:12Speaker 8: I don't really know how that works. I guess first
- 1:34:15Speaker 8: of all, I have to see if it's in the
- 1:34:18Speaker 8: CBA that the NFL can.
- 1:34:22Speaker 9: Actually come in and be like, hey, hey, hey, y'all
- 1:34:25Speaker 9: can't do that.
- 1:34:25Speaker 8: Tell them how, yeah, be fine doing practice. And most
- 1:34:30Speaker 8: likely it must be the teams and not the actual players,
- 1:34:35Speaker 8: because I doubt that the NFLPA signed any kind of
- 1:34:40Speaker 8: waiver where you can get fined and practice fights happen.
- 1:34:43Speaker 9: Both teams find two hundred thousand dollars and that sounds
- 1:34:48Speaker 9: like a prize fight that on to come with a
- 1:34:51Speaker 9: connection fee, four hundred thousand dollars worth of prize money.
- 1:34:55Speaker 8: Yeah, we used to start fights with the other team
- 1:34:58Speaker 8: just to cancel the drill. Come on, man, we walked, hey,
- 1:35:03Speaker 8: command you look man, and we get two or three fights,
- 1:35:08Speaker 8: the coach is gonna be like, hey, just forget it
- 1:35:11Speaker 8: and let's go ahere and get some individual we got
- 1:35:14Speaker 8: out of that.
- 1:35:15Speaker 10: Move on.
- 1:35:16Speaker 8: So some of the stuff has stayed. Some of it's
- 1:35:18Speaker 8: just tempers. But I didn't know y'all had started watching practice.
- 1:35:23Speaker 8: I'm not surprised because it seems the public wants to
- 1:35:26Speaker 8: be involved in every But.
- 1:35:29Speaker 4: I guess what I'm confusing.
- 1:35:30Speaker 9: I guess what I'm confused about is I thought that
- 1:35:34Speaker 9: the Giants, and this is what we're talking about.
- 1:35:36Speaker 8: The Giants and the Detroit they're having a joint practice, right,
- 1:35:39Speaker 8: but they actually play. But they're a preseason game I
- 1:35:42Speaker 8: think tomorrow.
- 1:35:43Speaker 28: Right.
- 1:35:43Speaker 9: They're self contained though, no, they played tonight. Okay, but
- 1:35:48Speaker 9: they're self contained teams. Right, So we got owners and
- 1:35:52Speaker 9: stuff that those people dictate all of that, don't they.
- 1:35:55Speaker 9: The coaches are the ones that go, hey, hey that's
- 1:35:57Speaker 9: too much, Hey, hey that ain't enough. How do who
- 1:36:00Speaker 9: from the NFL even comes out here? Who do y'all
- 1:36:03Speaker 9: send down here to tell me to tell somebody that
- 1:36:07Speaker 9: they how to do my job.
- 1:36:10Speaker 11: They probably sent some compliance officer type person because he's
- 1:36:14Speaker 11: getting said. They set out a memo saying like this
- 1:36:18Speaker 11: fighting won't be tolerated.
- 1:36:19Speaker 9: Oh I'm a grab that dude, the compliance memo. Dude,
- 1:36:22Speaker 9: you slapping that piece of paper out of his hand. Man,
- 1:36:24Speaker 9: get away from me with that.
- 1:36:26Speaker 8: Training camp fights typically, especially early on, you get a
- 1:36:33Speaker 8: couple of fighters getting tired, you stop fighting, enter team swad.
- 1:36:39Speaker 8: Somebody gonna end up in some kind of swabble, and
- 1:36:44Speaker 8: as an ex player, I just don't know.
- 1:36:46Speaker 4: Why do y'all care?
- 1:36:48Speaker 9: Well, Uh, this is the thing our online loyal listener,
- 1:36:52Speaker 9: Uncle Charlie Johnson says, sports Jock.
- 1:36:55Speaker 4: What happens to that money? Who gets it?
- 1:36:58Speaker 9: Like both teams get fined too, that's four hundred thousand
- 1:37:01Speaker 9: dollars in the NFL cofers.
- 1:37:03Speaker 4: What does the NFL do with that money?
- 1:37:07Speaker 8: Last I knew, Uncle Charlie, finds are divided between charities
- 1:37:15Speaker 8: that they start or they pick out before the season,
- 1:37:22Speaker 8: and players find get divided through those different charities. So
- 1:37:29Speaker 8: I would imagine that the team find it's the same way.
- 1:37:33Speaker 4: And so the people at the Breast Cancer were and
- 1:37:35Speaker 4: it's like.
- 1:37:35Speaker 9: Get him, everybody, get involved because we have a really
- 1:37:43Speaker 9: nice year for enough people fight.
- 1:37:44Speaker 8: And if you remember Cameron Haywood of the Stillers the
- 1:37:48Speaker 8: d Linemen a couple of years ago, that's what kind
- 1:37:53Speaker 8: of was part of that issue with him that even
- 1:37:59Speaker 8: though he did think he should be fined, he felt
- 1:38:01Speaker 8: like the fine money like players before that just wouldn't
- 1:38:04Speaker 8: say anything should go towards the charity. But you don't
- 1:38:07Speaker 8: get to pick your charity, right, They just take the money,
- 1:38:10Speaker 8: and they have already deemed that the money is going
- 1:38:13Speaker 8: to be divided between these three or four charity charity
- 1:38:16Speaker 8: that they get from the players this year, and a
- 1:38:19Speaker 8: lot of guys want it more of because I don't
- 1:38:22Speaker 8: want to say ten grand, but I wanted to go.
- 1:38:25Speaker 4: To cancer research.
- 1:38:27Speaker 9: I don't really care about the North American pine spruce
- 1:38:31Speaker 9: that way.
- 1:38:32Speaker 8: That kind of situation. So that was the last I heard.
- 1:38:36Speaker 8: I can check on that as far as the owners,
- 1:38:39Speaker 8: but it's I think it's set up the same way.
- 1:38:41Speaker 8: Might not be the same charities, but I think it's
- 1:38:43Speaker 8: the same way. I just thought it very surprising that
- 1:38:46Speaker 8: you get team or player, you ever get fined, you
- 1:38:51Speaker 8: ever get fine and practice. No, No, I'm saying period
- 1:38:53Speaker 8: by the NFL. Yes, for what twenty five thousand dollars. No,
- 1:38:58Speaker 8: I'm saying, what did you do? I threw a referee down, nice,
- 1:39:02Speaker 8: nice and all the.
- 1:39:04Speaker 4: Out of the league.
- 1:39:05Speaker 8: No, I was thrown out of the game we were playing.
- 1:39:07Speaker 9: No, what I'm saying now, you'd have been putt in
- 1:39:09Speaker 9: prison and thrown out of the league, and you've been
- 1:39:12Speaker 9: playing in Canada next week.
- 1:39:14Speaker 8: I was, we were playing. I must have been in
- 1:39:17Speaker 8: ninety nine two thousand because we were in three Rivers
- 1:39:20Speaker 8: Stadium when it happened. Me in the defensive end had
- 1:39:27Speaker 8: been going at it all game. It was obvious Tennessee
- 1:39:31Speaker 8: was going to win. It was like maybe two minutes
- 1:39:34Speaker 8: left in the game, two and a half. They were
- 1:39:36Speaker 8: up like seventeen points. Me and Dn got the shoving.
- 1:39:42Speaker 8: I threw him on the ground. I dove down to
- 1:39:44Speaker 8: hit him while he was on the ground. He took
- 1:39:47Speaker 8: exception to that. We got the fighting shoving. The referee
- 1:39:52Speaker 8: walked up behind me. I thought it was a teammate
- 1:39:56Speaker 8: trying to get me off the guy, and he grabbed
- 1:39:59Speaker 8: my arm, so I pulled him and swung him to
- 1:40:01Speaker 8: the ground, tossed him to the ground, and it was
- 1:40:04Speaker 8: the referee, and they threw me out the game.
- 1:40:08Speaker 9: Oh see, Which is okay? I thought you was just
- 1:40:10Speaker 9: on some loose cannon. What you say, No, I've never offside.
- 1:40:16Speaker 8: Okay, A loose cannon on the file is when I
- 1:40:20Speaker 8: did throw a penalty flag at a referee.
- 1:40:26Speaker 9: That that that that's I mean. I was gonna say,
- 1:40:28Speaker 9: me and you a lot more alike than you give
- 1:40:30Speaker 9: us credit. I don't like that he had thrown it
- 1:40:32Speaker 9: at me, right but was that the one. I've seen
- 1:40:35Speaker 9: that in those NFL films of the one because somebody
- 1:40:39Speaker 9: throws a flag right into a refs.
- 1:40:41Speaker 4: No, the ref did that to a place flag Orlando Brown. Yeah,
- 1:40:46Speaker 4: they were right into his mask.
- 1:40:48Speaker 8: And he wanted a lot of money off of that too,
- 1:40:50Speaker 8: because he went into his eyes. The colors hit his
- 1:40:55Speaker 8: face mask and went into his eye. And I think
- 1:40:59Speaker 8: that might have been the last. Should play, maybe try
- 1:41:02Speaker 8: to play one more year to come back? But is
- 1:41:05Speaker 8: it big Zeus we used to call he's a huge man.
- 1:41:08Speaker 4: Huge man. I mean we called him Zeus Idu was
- 1:41:10Speaker 4: feeling itself.
- 1:41:12Speaker 9: Try a big man called Yeah, anytime somebody yourself size,
- 1:41:18Speaker 9: be like, what's up, big man?
- 1:41:20Speaker 8: That's a big We'll be back more to Sports Jock

- 1:43:41Speaker 8: Canny way back to the boys Shock Show. I'm the
- 1:43:44Speaker 8: sports Shock wing king. T over our left, my left show.
- 1:43:48Speaker 10: Do we have some action on the TV?
- 1:43:50Speaker 8: Look like some rounds of the four by one hundred
- 1:43:53Speaker 8: relay is on the track China. I was noticing that
- 1:44:00Speaker 8: China to keep them a team, and it seems like
- 1:44:03Speaker 8: they must just have those four guys and that's all
- 1:44:06Speaker 8: they do.
- 1:44:07Speaker 4: You know, we be missing mixing matching hours.
- 1:44:10Speaker 8: Sometimes we we have these four and then we get
- 1:44:13Speaker 8: to the next round, we want to replace two, and
- 1:44:15Speaker 8: then we get to the finals and it's three out
- 1:44:18Speaker 8: of the four just new people. And it's like part
- 1:44:21Speaker 8: of that is the transition of passing right, And that's
- 1:44:25Speaker 8: what they're making up that time you're trying to figure
- 1:44:27Speaker 8: out why they're always in it right. It's about the
- 1:44:29Speaker 8: smoothness of passing that they're cutting there, that second off
- 1:44:35Speaker 8: in the past in the passing that you're wasting reaching.
- 1:44:39Speaker 4: And getting ran into by your man.
- 1:44:42Speaker 8: What you're about to say for convention, it's.
- 1:44:44Speaker 11: Like continuity should matter, like this is the four, this
- 1:44:48Speaker 11: is the four for this race.
- 1:44:51Speaker 9: They got the five deadly venoms.
- 1:44:55Speaker 8: What I'm saying, But our country, like some of the Jamaica,
- 1:44:57Speaker 8: I know, they we try to infuse our one hundred
- 1:45:01Speaker 8: meter or two hundred meter runner.
- 1:45:03Speaker 10: Into four one when that ain't. That's not what they've
- 1:45:08Speaker 10: been doing.
- 1:45:09Speaker 4: His mechanics for that aren't.
- 1:45:12Speaker 8: They came to practice for about five minutes on it
- 1:45:16Speaker 8: and yeah, I got it. And then next day, like
- 1:45:18Speaker 8: you're saying, they it is a tight race because you're
- 1:45:22Speaker 8: stumbling handing me. Even though we got the four fastest people,
- 1:45:25Speaker 8: we're not passing the baton at all.
- 1:45:28Speaker 11: They're gonna have the the Quincy Wilson, the sixteen year
- 1:45:32Speaker 11: old who came as an alternate. He's going to be
- 1:45:35Speaker 11: in the four by four hundred. Okay, yeah, so he
- 1:45:40Speaker 11: came as an alternate. No one thought he was going
- 1:45:43Speaker 11: to actually run, but he'll get the experience. But they
- 1:45:45Speaker 11: put him in there.
- 1:45:47Speaker 9: Now, Is that on part of the United States gamesmanship,
- 1:45:52Speaker 9: we're putting in fresh legs? Is that We've just got
- 1:45:56Speaker 9: so much talent that some of these guys aren't really
- 1:46:00Speaker 9: getting a chance to compete. So we're just trying to
- 1:46:03Speaker 9: make sure everybody gets playing time. How does that slash?
- 1:46:07Speaker 8: Yeah, we just seem to be the same thing with
- 1:46:09Speaker 8: our basketball team. The USA basketball team plays today versus Serbia,
- 1:46:14Speaker 8: which is Nikola Joki's team.
- 1:46:17Speaker 4: But most of.
- 1:46:18Speaker 8: It is we just take that gamble that our talent
- 1:46:22Speaker 8: will make up for the lack of continuity. That's why
- 1:46:27Speaker 8: in even international play, some of these teams can have
- 1:46:30Speaker 8: a little success against Hall of famers. Yeah, for you know,
- 1:46:34Speaker 8: for a minute, it seems you know, as a game
- 1:46:37Speaker 8: goes on, you see we kind of distance. But it's
- 1:46:39Speaker 8: never a surprise early on because they know, Like even
- 1:46:43Speaker 8: watching beach volleyball, the teams that have that cohesiveness without speaking,
- 1:46:51Speaker 8: without yelling, I know where to serve the ball, I
- 1:46:54Speaker 8: know what you're going to do when I do this
- 1:46:57Speaker 8: against people who just are out here as the two
- 1:46:59Speaker 8: best players years. Yes, it's the same with our basketball team,
- 1:47:03Speaker 8: same thing with our relay teams. Some of these teams
- 1:47:06Speaker 8: they came here to win the four by one with
- 1:47:09Speaker 8: these four people.
- 1:47:10Speaker 4: Yes, yes we do.
- 1:47:12Speaker 8: We quick to pull two of our four by one
- 1:47:18Speaker 8: to put in our two like Kenny, what's his name?
- 1:47:22Speaker 8: Kung Fu Kenny, Benedict Bernard, Bernard, what's what's Kenny's name?
- 1:47:28Speaker 8: But not Butaneric Ny the two und.
- 1:47:35Speaker 4: Derek, it's I know what you're talking about.
- 1:47:39Speaker 8: Yeah, I thought you've been watching. I haven't been watching.
- 1:47:43Speaker 8: Oh no, Noah Lyles, you know that name? Yes, yeah,
- 1:47:46Speaker 8: his number one competitor from the US is Kenny.
- 1:47:52Speaker 4: But yeah, something like that. It's he's in the two
- 1:47:58Speaker 4: hundred bed Narik that nark. That's what we were missing.
- 1:48:03Speaker 8: Yeah, they call him kung Fu Kenny. That's why he
- 1:48:05Speaker 8: wears his little head. So but we will quickly throw
- 1:48:11Speaker 8: them on the team when we get to the finals.
- 1:48:16Speaker 8: We've seen people that get thrown on the relay team
- 1:48:20Speaker 8: in a lot of situations. Kenny, kung Fu Kenny also
- 1:48:23Speaker 8: is complaining that the Olympic officials are showing favoritism. The
- 1:48:27Speaker 8: two hundred meter final is today in whatever lane they
- 1:48:31Speaker 8: have given him it, he's.
- 1:48:33Speaker 4: Not happy with.
- 1:48:35Speaker 8: I don't know if he's talking about he should be
- 1:48:38Speaker 8: where he feels, no allows or whatever. The time he
- 1:48:41Speaker 8: did win his heat, which I guess he wants that
- 1:48:46Speaker 8: to be more of a consideration than the time. Maybe
- 1:48:51Speaker 8: feels like, if you want your heat, you should get
- 1:48:53Speaker 8: the best lanes.
- 1:48:54Speaker 9: Well, I'm saying if those rules were in place already
- 1:48:58Speaker 9: and that's something that they're not hearing to, I could
- 1:49:01Speaker 9: see your complaint. But if that's just your personal feeling
- 1:49:04Speaker 9: that I think you ought to give.
- 1:49:06Speaker 8: Then yeah, that's right. I can't defend him. I don't
- 1:49:08Speaker 8: know the rules, but they seems to be accusing them
- 1:49:11Speaker 8: of some kind of favoritism, which to me would be
- 1:49:14Speaker 8: more of their giving no, allow the lane he wants
- 1:49:21Speaker 8: versus the lane that Kenny wants.
- 1:49:23Speaker 11: If it said that the lanes five through eight are
- 1:49:27Speaker 11: the preferred lanes for the two hundred and whereas Kenny
- 1:49:32Speaker 11: that have been lane four.
- 1:49:35Speaker 4: Oh, then there you go.
- 1:49:36Speaker 11: And they said that the inside lanes you can't you
- 1:49:39Speaker 11: can't really see coming around around the turn.
- 1:49:43Speaker 8: Well one break, I see, I don't. I can't remember
- 1:49:45Speaker 8: in the last Olympics and it could have been there
- 1:49:47Speaker 8: and I just missed it. They're not running any of
- 1:49:51Speaker 8: these sprints, the two hundred or the you know from
- 1:49:55Speaker 8: the lane one, right, they have nine lanes and they're
- 1:50:00Speaker 8: using two through nine. Instead of one through eight. Yep,
- 1:50:05Speaker 8: so they are giving the opening lane one, it's still
- 1:50:08Speaker 8: eight competitors. Is just not using the first lane which
- 1:50:12Speaker 8: is so tight, Yeah that by the time you get
- 1:50:14Speaker 8: out of it the sprint, you have to be a
- 1:50:17Speaker 8: different kind of runner to run that tight and win
- 1:50:20Speaker 8: in a race like a two hundred. So Kenny, they
- 1:50:24Speaker 8: see what he can do today, but that is today
- 1:50:26Speaker 8: the two hundred meter man's final. Along with Team USA,
- 1:50:31Speaker 8: Lebron and the guys back on the court to play
- 1:50:35Speaker 8: Serbia in the semi final.
- 1:50:37Speaker 9: Did you see any of Carmelo Anthony sitting in with
- 1:50:41Speaker 9: Mike Tarico yesterday watching I did basketball?
- 1:50:45Speaker 8: I did, And I was great to see that because
- 1:50:49Speaker 8: I can use that as an example when I'm always
- 1:50:51Speaker 8: talking to younger kids about, hey, you never know where
- 1:50:54Speaker 8: life is gonna take. You don't just make a decision
- 1:50:58Speaker 8: at twenty six tattoo command you Greg on your forehead
- 1:51:04Speaker 8: and then when you're forty two they can't put you
- 1:51:07Speaker 8: on the Olympics. Because that was a nice honor for
- 1:51:10Speaker 8: Comello commentating, and he did it.
- 1:51:13Speaker 10: One.
- 1:51:13Speaker 8: You don't want to listen to what he has to say,
- 1:51:16Speaker 8: you know, It's not like he can't in nineteen years
- 1:51:18Speaker 8: in the NBA and great Career Hall of Famer first ballot.
- 1:51:22Speaker 9: And all that, and he got to comment on the
- 1:51:25Speaker 9: Hall win the Quincy Hall.
- 1:51:28Speaker 4: Yeah, I loved it. Added him too.
- 1:51:30Speaker 8: He did a great job because that was one of
- 1:51:32Speaker 8: the big things that started the Olympics, infusing more ex Olympians. Yeah,
- 1:51:38Speaker 8: instead of just having people that.
- 1:51:40Speaker 4: Just Taylor Swell, we'll be back and.
- 1:51:45Speaker 8: We'll be back right after this word.
- 1:51:47Speaker 15: Yeah, what you know, A bad dam but you know
- 1:51:50Speaker 15: all that. But you know a hey, I know all
- 1:51:53Speaker 15: of that. Dad know what he's fresh.

- 1:55:03Speaker 9: When they start doing that like it used to be cardboard.
- 1:55:05Speaker 9: Then that first group of breakers came out with that
- 1:55:08Speaker 9: square of linoleum, and you was on some Hey, hold on,
- 1:55:11Speaker 9: let's go.

- 1:55:45Speaker 9: now when he say he sold it to him like
- 1:55:48Speaker 9: he had a Dinnis's appointment, and yeah, he was like,
- 1:55:50Speaker 9: let me get a couple of extra files of nitress?
- 1:55:52Speaker 8: How does say Kenny as I have been saying, I
- 1:55:54Speaker 8: think some people this should be against the law. You
- 1:55:58Speaker 8: shouldn't just be be telling my big business.
- 1:56:06Speaker 4: This is who is?
- 1:56:07Speaker 9: It kind of sounded like advertising, not saying that I
- 1:56:11Speaker 9: would buy any nightris, But if I knew a dentist
- 1:56:14Speaker 9: that sold it.
- 1:56:15Speaker 4: Maybe I he get my insurance.
- 1:56:17Speaker 8: Copey a new weight loss method on TikTok thirty thirty thirty.
- 1:56:25Speaker 8: Have you any of you guys tried that? The thirty
- 1:56:27Speaker 8: thirty thirty and what is it?
- 1:56:29Speaker 10: No? You take thirty grams of protein in the first
- 1:56:37Speaker 10: thirty minutes that you wake up in the morning.
- 1:56:40Speaker 4: I haven't been exercised for thirty minutes.
- 1:56:43Speaker 10: Thirty minutes.
- 1:56:44Speaker 4: I know I have a line brother that has been
- 1:56:47Speaker 4: doing that. Yes, yeah, do you still talk to him?
- 1:56:52Speaker 10: Have his number?
- 1:56:53Speaker 4: I'm saying, we recalling you with this. We're going on
- 1:56:55Speaker 4: forty years.
- 1:56:56Speaker 10: Have you at least threatened him call me with that?
- 1:57:00Speaker 10: I'm saying, I answer every other call.
- 1:57:02Speaker 9: You see what I'm saying, and I answer, and then
- 1:57:06Speaker 9: when I answer them, I get straight to the point.
- 1:57:08Speaker 4: Dog, this ain't got nothing to do with that thirty
- 1:57:09Speaker 4: thirty thirty do It's like I'm saying, that's that's like am.
- 1:57:13Speaker 10: Way I want.
- 1:57:14Speaker 9: I ain't gonna have that conversation with you by you
- 1:57:16Speaker 9: saying in the first thirty minutes I wake up, eat
- 1:57:19Speaker 9: thirty grands of protein, which means I got.
- 1:57:21Speaker 4: To do math.
- 1:57:21Speaker 10: And then first thirty minutes.
- 1:57:23Speaker 4: You work out for thirty minutes.
- 1:57:24Speaker 9: The working out for thirty minutes is something that I
- 1:57:27Speaker 9: regularly do work out, but the whole weighing thirty grams
- 1:57:32Speaker 9: of protein and then eating that and then working out.
- 1:57:37Speaker 8: Then the third thirty minutes of being up. So if
- 1:57:41Speaker 8: you wake up at six am, all right.
- 1:57:42Speaker 9: So thirty six, I gotta have finished this protein and
- 1:57:46Speaker 9: then and be working out and be and so I'm
- 1:57:50Speaker 9: gonna go to the bathroom.
- 1:57:51Speaker 4: When I wake up.
- 1:57:52Speaker 8: You just gotta be You gotta be fast.
- 1:57:55Speaker 11: You have thirty minutes, so you can go to the bathroom.
- 1:58:00Speaker 11: But that cousin to the thirty minutes that you have.
- 1:58:03Speaker 4: Okay, So now I got it, really wolfed down that protest.
- 1:58:07Speaker 4: I'm not it just eat it. It did.
- 1:58:09Speaker 9: Start working out, and what kind of workout. It's cardio
- 1:58:14Speaker 9: low impact. It's low impact, which.
- 1:58:17Speaker 4: Basically stretching right, basically going to the kitchen.
- 1:58:22Speaker 10: Olympic swimmers are guzzling cans of coke to protect themselves
- 1:58:26Speaker 10: from bacteria in the sand river over.
- 1:58:31Speaker 9: There, Yes, sands river waiting not coke killing germs, and
- 1:58:36Speaker 9: we're drinking it for recreations.
- 1:58:39Speaker 8: They're saying it's some kind of preventative. They must be
- 1:58:44Speaker 8: over there. I don't know where they got that from.
- 1:58:46Speaker 4: What is in coke?
- 1:58:47Speaker 8: This is not the original coke from from nineteen o
- 1:58:51Speaker 8: four with the cocaine in it. This is Yeah, there
- 1:58:55Speaker 8: ain't no scientific backing to this big game.
- 1:58:57Speaker 9: Man, these people actually in the water. I'm not the
- 1:59:00Speaker 9: tellment ain't working.
- 1:59:01Speaker 4: You.
- 1:59:01Speaker 9: You got the world's best open river swimmers all endorsing
- 1:59:07Speaker 9: Coca cokea. Now either Coke has gotten in their pockets,
- 1:59:09Speaker 9: like look man, here go a hundred thousand. Then when
- 1:59:12Speaker 9: you get out the river, say coke made you feel battle.
- 1:59:15Speaker 8: It says it's an unscientific solution to ward off getting
- 1:59:18Speaker 8: sick from the pollitic waters.
- 1:59:21Speaker 9: Oh yeah, that that's that's a prop bet somebody to
- 1:59:26Speaker 9: pull somebody in the side. They look here, play boy
- 1:59:30Speaker 9: thousand dollars.
- 1:59:32Speaker 11: The doctors say there's there's no there's no evidence that
- 1:59:36Speaker 11: this works. But you got a New Zealand athlete says
- 1:59:40Speaker 11: there's no harbor doing it. If you google it, you
- 1:59:43Speaker 11: know it says that it works. And then an Australian
- 1:59:46Speaker 11: swimmer said, oh the myth is true.
- 1:59:50Speaker 9: And Coca Cola says, how do you spell that name again?
- 1:59:55Speaker 4: So I could put it on your check.
- 1:59:57Speaker 8: Speaking of Google, Google was found guilty of being a
- 1:59:59Speaker 8: mono with you last week.
- 2:00:00Speaker 9: Correct, hold on, let me google that. That's right, Let
- 2:00:07Speaker 9: me google that and see if that's true, sports Jack.
- 2:00:10Speaker 4: How else do we get our information?
- 2:00:12Speaker 10: I thought I read something the judge I said that Google.
- 2:00:16Speaker 8: Yes, they did business, violated antitrust law, yes, and they
- 2:00:20Speaker 8: are considered monopol and now they have to start looking
- 2:00:24Speaker 8: into ways of breaking that up. So they got to
- 2:00:27Speaker 8: do the late nineties my little team and AT and
- 2:00:31Speaker 8: T bail South thing, remember when uh bail South used
- 2:00:35Speaker 8: to be.
- 2:00:36Speaker 4: So if I don't Google something, what do I do?
- 2:00:39Speaker 4: No one knows? That's what makes it.
- 2:00:41Speaker 11: There are other search engines, though, Yeah, but this is
- 2:00:44Speaker 11: the whore.
- 2:00:45Speaker 4: There are other search engines.
- 2:00:47Speaker 9: But how many of them come already installed on your device?
- 2:00:52Speaker 8: Why would I change search engines? Well, I get different
- 2:00:54Speaker 8: information if I change over to you Hall, I'm not
- 2:00:58Speaker 8: you Aul, Yahoo and Google the same thing. Is it
- 2:01:02Speaker 8: gonna be different information?
- 2:01:03Speaker 10: No?
- 2:01:04Speaker 9: They claim the search engine is safer and no one's
- 2:01:07Speaker 9: monitoring what you're searching on these other sites. Right, Google
- 2:01:12Speaker 9: is known to share and monitor what you're searching. So
- 2:01:17Speaker 9: I think that's part of it. But that's what makes
- 2:01:20Speaker 9: it a monopoly is you can't get past Google.
- 2:01:24Speaker 4: Really, if you're gonna search, they're the ones you go to.
- 2:01:27Speaker 8: And we are in the ocean.
- 2:01:31Speaker 20: The truth is he will throw your in the ocean.

- 2:03:03Speaker 10: over at the But.
- 2:03:05Speaker 9: Haven't we all am I right the Olympics and buy
- 2:03:08Speaker 9: some coke, but we've all done it.

- 2:03:27Speaker 10: Over. We didn't getting a look cocaine right, but even
- 2:03:30Speaker 10: released this morning and has to go back to court.
- 2:03:35Speaker 10: But I guess he got to explain to us Australian
- 2:03:37Speaker 10: delegates to get back into the country.
- 2:03:39Speaker 8: But do you think he's going back to court. I
- 2:03:41Speaker 8: doubt they allegedly arrested him. I think they're just throwing
- 2:03:45Speaker 8: that in there. They got him because he already don't
- 2:03:47Speaker 8: be apologized.
- 2:03:52Speaker 10: People.
- 2:03:52Speaker 4: That was powered sugar on Beignet's stuff.
- 2:03:56Speaker 8: So for that, Tom Craig, mind cocaine at the Olympic.
- 2:04:00Speaker 4: Fuck the plank. It's just two weeks, Tom.
- 2:04:13Speaker 13: You couldn't go two weeks without the cocaine.
- 2:04:15Speaker 8: Two weeks, a fortnight and you in jail. That's how
- 2:04:19Speaker 8: you're gonna remember your twenty twenty four Olympics in jail.
- 2:04:23Speaker 10: But we all. We've all gone to jail at the Olympics,
