- 0:00Good morning, welcome to this week's weekly watchlist podcast. Now, for more context, you can cross over to YouTube at Green Ticker Warrior for the YouTube video because there are a couple of figures that I may skip for brevity's sake. But we'll start over with the insurance space. Our number one stock on my radar in that sector is Regency Alliance Insurance. Why is that the case? At the moment, Regency Alliance Insurance has its rights issue running.
- 0:28And it will be ending in a couple of days. The rise issue is at 95 copper. The stock price currently is at 95 copper. Now, just around prior to now, the stock was trading below its rise issue. Now, this is a key point because if the stock remains at its rise issue price or above its rise issue price, people might say, well, it makes more sense for me to pick up the stock on the floor.
- 0:56now if the stock falls below its rights issue price people may reason that look it makes more sense to buy the stock on the floor than taking up their rights and for a lot of people what they simply do is they just let the rights go follow typically you should do the normal documentation so that you can sell off your rights but for a lot of people with tiny amounts of shares thousand five thousand ten thousands many of the times
- 1:25They just really will just let it slide. So that's why I'm watching that stock. WAPIC continues to remain on my radar. WAPIC is one of the few stocks that is trading at around just slightly above its book value. When you take the top five or top seven stocks in the insurance space by asset size, WAPIC probably will fit into that list. It's the only stock, to the best of my knowledge, that is trading significantly.
- 1:54at its book value price a lot of them the average book value you see it's 1.4 1.3 times um uh price to book value i mean so the average price to book value and that is you take this stock price divided by its book value you get price to book value and that enables you to know um by what premium or what discount is a stock trading this book value i think it's trading at 1.09 times a book value as a last friday's price so that means that
- 2:21Essentially, it's at its book value and you could argue, is it a bargain at that price? I think it is. For more context, you can probably refer to the past pre-market videos that I've done on the insurance space where I have a whole table encapsulating things. So, WAPIC is a stock to watch. A few days ago, I actually saw it trade sub 2 Naira or just around the 2 Naira mark.
- 2:48If it dips there, you may see accumulation happen in that place. For Gini Insurance, it's traded at 90 copper. It's one of the handful of stocks on the NGXS around or just below the one-night mark. The first support level for that stock is 58 copper. On the other hand, the first resistance point is 1.8 copper. And I'm looking at technical analysis from a weekly timeframe.
- 3:18for me it's just this whole sub one hour game what we've seen in the markets prior to this beer market at least for last year was a lot of the penny stocks especially in the insurance space you had lots of trades in them because people could easily write a 90 couple stock to one hour one at ten couple that's a quick 10 20 percent and you can have volume to play with uh ico closed at 399 couple last week just under the phone
- 3:45The pivot point for IACO is 3,942 cupboards. So a 10% dip, 7% to 10% dip will take that stock to its pivot point. And the pivot point is key because you can either go up or you can go down from the pivot point. In the paint segment, I'm looking at Meijer. Meijer was the only stock in the paint segment, at least of the big three paint stocks. I don't really pay attention to Premier Paints. Meijer was the only stock that declined.
- 4:16So that drop is significant for me because the drop meant that at its current price, Mayer is trading at a forward earnings of 16.2 times. It's trading below its five-year earnings CAGR, right? Now, if you take a cost of equity perspective, Mayer probably wouldn't make anyone's cut because if you have your five-year earnings CAGR,
- 4:43at 31.3% for CAP, 50.4% for Bega, May at 18.5%. Earnings are growing at a rate that's probably slower than the cost of equity. So you want to see that growth. Maybe you can argue that if you're going by inflation, if you average inflation in your country, it's maybe 12, 13, 14, 15%.
- 5:11then major pains will struggle because you want to see a firm grow earnings faster than inflation, right? So from that angle, maybe it's a no, but from a just broad angle, forward earnings perspective, it's actually the cheapest of all the penny players. It's trading at 16.2 times forward earnings. Beggar is trading at 13.4 times forward earnings. Cap is actually trading at 13.5 times forward earnings. So going by forward earnings, you say Cap is cheaper than Beggar. But if you look at the five-year earnings, Kega,
- 5:42Cap 5-year earnings kick-out is 31.3%, forward earnings 22.5%. Beg on the other hand, 5-year earnings kick-out is 50.4%, forward earnings are 33.4%. So you'd say Bega probably, and I mean Bega Pins, probably has a greater margin of safety compared to Cap because if the Cap earnings kick-out dips to maybe 25 or 22 or 20 or any tight spot or four,
- 6:08a beggar if your five yen is kicked out of the enemies groups dips to maybe 35 or 30 then you still have some more um elbow room right and from the technical standpoint they are all trading um at least carp and beggar trading above the first support level s1 for maya maya is the private point for maya is 15.4 maya is 18.5 so if maya dips another
- 6:40what 20 percent or so it should be at its um pivot point meaning and the pivot point is key because the pivot point is a critical point between supports that is going up or going um down and so that's why a lot of times we we talk about uh in the pivot point you use it to identify support and resistance uh so once the stock is trading close this pivot point or any asset generally
- 7:11it lets you know that we could either maintain support there or we could start to fall. And so that starts on the paint side. On the cement side of things, fundamentally speaking, they continue to be cheap. I mean, if you look at the forward earnings for Danksem, it's 11.4 times. Boaz Cement, 16.3 times. Lafarge, 11.9 times, you can see. So Danksem is probably slightly cheaper than Lafarge.
- 7:39and downstream is probably the cheapest right now going by forward earnings. And how you work out your forward earnings, simply take your first quarter earnings, you analyze and divide it by, you divide the share price by that number and then you have forward earnings. I do realize that cement companies have seasonality and I'm not discounting that, but if you say that these Q1 numbers are a baseline, or if you say that look, Q3, Q4,
- 8:07would make up for any softness in the current quarter Q2, then you're in a good place to go. And if you have the time, you want to be particular, you can take, say, the last three Q1s or Q2s or compare quarter on quarter for the last couple of years and then see how it goes. So, in any case, going by TA, I think maybe the only two interesting stocks in this space would be Dangling Cement and Lafayette. Dangling Cement
- 8:36close last week at 891 its support s3 lowest support is 820.34 um so your stock is just 70 or so naira above its um lowest support levels it's below its pivot point um for lafad lafad is also trading below the s3 support levels um s3 support level for lafad is 314 and the stock is at 291 so clearly
- 9:04I think the two of them are probably better buys. They are all cheap stocks. The challenge is Bois Cement is a highly illiquid stock. And then too, Cutix, Carverton, McNichols. I think of all of them, McNichols probably is higher on the radar. Why? It's at 7 Naira. It trades within a tight range, low 60s to maybe 8.2, 8.3. So I keep watching to see how it goes.
- 9:35The pivot point for McNichols is 3.26. I don't see this stock getting there anytime soon. So what you really want to watch for McNichols is that 6 to 7 era mark. For Carverton, Carverton is quite close to its pivot point. Pivot point for Carverton is 5.63. Current price is 5.05. So the question is where next does this stock drop to? Will it drop to 4.5? Will it drop to 4? It depends on how the market moves.
- 10:02QTX has been on a downtrend largely because, fundamentally speaking, this year has been a rough year. Said this several times, QTX needs to go raise equity. Other than that, finance costs will continue to choke the performance of this business. Support level for QTX, S1's first support level is 1.77. At 2.8, a 10% decline probably should
- 10:31take you some some 10% declines you okay no way you need a further decline in this stock but there's no momentum in this stock right pivot point is 3.44 QTX is trading at 2.8 lowest pivot point first resistance level is 4.77 I don't see anything that will move this stock to 4.77 so QTX will continue to trade in its current range of stats to dip further yeah
- 10:56So that's pretty much about it. For more context, cross over to the video site. Have yourselves a lovely trading week ahead.
