- 1:01Listen, I'm going to sit here and I'm going to tell you guys I
- 1:05didn't expect the Knicks to win by 50.
- 1:07I didn't. It's it's nice to see.
- 1:10Finally the Knicks showed up in a game and in a series that they
- 1:13needed to blow A-Team out. They're much better than the
- 1:16Hawks, and they finally shut them up, shut the fans up over
- 1:20there in Atlanta. So in that case, for all the
- 1:23fans out there, you should be very, very happy.
- 1:25The Knicks are now relaxing, sitting around doing some
- 1:30podcasts and waiting for the 76ers to win that series.
- 1:36So I guess it's a good thing you didn't buy a premature ticket
- 1:39for game three like I it was a court ticket.
- 1:41Yeah, no, I won't buy no ticket. Man, shout out to the Knicks.
- 1:45Man, shout out to the Knicks for making it happen.
- 1:48What an incredible way to end that series.
- 1:51So. It was.
- 1:52Incredible it. Really was.
- 1:53Yeah, serious. It smells good.
- 1:55It smells very, very good. Bro 140 to 89.
- 2:00They were up 50 for more than half of the game.
- 2:03And they played all their backup players the whole fourth
- 2:06quarter, the whole 4th. Quarter was played by and half
- 2:09of the third quarter and half of the third quarter.
- 2:11It was crazy, absolutely. It really is.
- 2:15Are we going to Do you want you want me to go into the NCAA
- 2:18tournament? Yeah, Chaz needs about 10 more
- 2:20minutes. All right, might as.
- 2:20Well, be a quick segment out of the way.
- 2:22Let's go into ESPN. As ESPN has announced, well,
- 2:26Pete Thamel has reported that the NCAA is in the final steps
- 2:31of approving a deal that will expand the NCAA Tournament from
- 2:3668 teams to 76. A lot of this expansion talk has
- 2:41been driven by media companies, which are owned by Turner Media
- 2:46for men's tournaments and ESPN for women's tournaments.
- 2:51The other big factor is driving this move has been several power
- 2:56conferences wanting more at large bids with a chance for
- 3:01their teams to be to make it deep or make deep runs from the
- 3:06first for from the First Four like Texas did this year.
- 3:12With this this new expansion, the Final Four weekend would
- 3:15triple in size having 12 total games and 24 teams rather than
- 3:20four games and eight teams. The remainder of the NCAA
- 3:24Tournament format would still remain the same with 16 teams in
- 3:29four different sections of the bracket.
- 3:31This expansion isn't expected to be a huge money boost for the
- 3:36NCAA, but still expects to be an improvement in overall profit.
- 3:44If you're a college fan, if you're an NCAA basketball fan,
- 3:50you love this. You love it because expansion
- 3:54and opening up opportunity for college teams that are not
- 3:58having great seasons because 76 teams making it.
- 4:02A lot of these teams, especially ten of these teams or eight of
- 4:05these teams are probably going to lose at least eight or nine
- 4:08games. Think about it, maybe even more
- 4:10than that. So you're going to see teams
- 4:13that shouldn't be there make a run, and that's what you want to
- 4:16see. Cinderella teams.
- 4:18That's why I think this benefits college basketball because it
- 4:22opens up the floodgates to see, hey, maybe not only a 16 is what
- 4:26are we going to call it, a 20 team, a 20 seed.
- 4:29I guess it's like the NBA, the NCAA version of a play in
- 4:32because you're getting now, you're getting now, essentially.
- 4:34So what are they going to be considered A 20 or 21?
- 4:37Seeds would remain the same so that it's going to be like a
- 4:39play in tournament. So the I guess the worst winner
- 4:43becomes the 16 or the the best winner becomes the 15.
- 4:46Like, well, they got to figure this out first because they're
- 4:48making these new rules and when is this going to start?
- 4:50Is it going to start right away? They.
- 4:52They plan on. Starting at this season, if they
- 4:54can get other things approved, there's a couple media deals
- 4:56that have to be approved and I think a couple legal things with
- 4:58the NCAA that's going to approve.
- 5:00But what the famous report was mentioning was they're likely to
- 5:03have a decision by July with this.
- 5:05That's the thing, because over the years you see all these
- 5:08rules, the CBA's, it doesn't start until the the first CBA is
- 5:12done. So are they going to just go
- 5:14right into it and and try to transition into this?
- 5:16And this does benefit the NCAA. It definitely the advantages are
- 5:21some to these non conferences or the teams that you wouldn't
- 5:24expect to make the tournament, make the tournament.
- 5:26Hofstra could make the tournament every year.
- 5:29They get a team that sneaks into the player Liu who snuck into
- 5:33the playoffs and snuck into the tournament.
- 5:35They can make the tournament every single year if they had
- 5:37the season they had this year. And does this help recruiting
- 5:40because now you're looking at there's 76 schools that can make
- 5:44this tournament. Does it help the recruitment and
- 5:47does it open up the floodgates for more NIL deals, more money?
- 5:51That's the thing. And I think that's where you
- 5:53look at it. If if you were to look at it in
- 5:55in in a common way, you would look at it for the players, not
- 5:59really the teams or the NCAA because they're going to make
- 6:02money no matter what. But with all these NIL deals and
- 6:05and they still haven't figured that out yet.
- 6:07There are players that are going to be forced or are going to be
- 6:11approved to go to these different schools that are not
- 6:13usually in the tournament and now have a chance to make the
- 6:16tournament every single year. And if you want to be a guy that
- 6:20wants to go to one of these non conference teams and make the
- 6:23tournament and make a run, you might be looked at as a higher
- 6:26draft pack pick or a draft prospect.
- 6:29That's the way I look at this. Does it benefit the NC double?
- 6:33It makes it more competitive, it makes it more interesting.
- 6:35But I again with the NBA, the way the NBA has these playing
- 6:38games, I don't understand any of it.
- 6:40It, it doesn't make any sense. I know that's what you want to
- 6:43see and, and you would like to see a 10 seed make the playoffs
- 6:47and then make a run as an 8 seed and and make it all the way to
- 6:49the, to the NBA championship, but usually doesn't happen that
- 6:53way. We've seen it in the NFL when
- 6:55they brought the wild card, the wild card teams in the first
- 6:59wild card team I can remember is the Aaron Rodgers wild card team
- 7:02in 2011, right? It was 2000. 11 They were the
- 7:04first NFC one and then the Steelers in Ben Roethlisberger's
- 7:07second year in the league. The.
- 7:08Seahawks in Super Bowl 40. That was the first one ever.
- 7:10But when I remember, I remember, I remember that Aaron Rodgers
- 7:13team and that was the only championship Aaron Rodgers ever
- 7:16won. They made that run as a six
- 7:18seed, if I'm not mistaken. So I, I, you like to see that,
- 7:21you like to see Cinderella teams.
- 7:23And I'm not saying you can't see that in college basketball.
- 7:25Remember Davidson, the Steph Curry, Davidson team that made
- 7:29it to the I think they were in the elite 8 and and they made
- 7:32that run. Nobody thought Davidson should
- 7:34make it, but Steph Curry got hot and eventually became a top 10
- 7:37lottery pick to the Golden State Warriors, almost to the New York
- 7:40Knicks. So I the The thing is, does this
- 7:43benefit you left? But the Knicks wanted him, and
- 7:45if if Golden State didn't draft him, he was definitely going to
- 7:48the New York. Knicks almost doesn't count,
- 7:50though. What?
- 7:50I'm saying I knew you were going to say something.
- 7:52You have some kind of hatred for the New York Knicks.
- 7:55I know I love the Knicks. Yo, you hate the Knicks?
- 7:57You. City.
- 7:58I know. I really don't hate him.
- 7:59I really do. You sound like you hate.
- 8:01Him my second favorite team. Oh, your second favorite?
- 8:03Team, I'm married to a Knicks now.
- 8:05Yeah, yeah, you're married. Already, Yeah, I'm like Arrow.
- 8:09I got, I got teams all over the. Place I don't have teams all
- 8:12over the place the only team I root for, the only team I root
- 8:15for outside of New York is Philadelphia Eagles and the only
- 8:19reason why I'm a Philadelphia Eagle fan is because I'm a
- 8:22Donovan McNabb fan and my. Team the only reason.
- 8:25That is the only reason why I'm a Philadelphia Eagle fan.
- 8:27That's the truth. That's the only team that the
- 8:29only reason why I root on that team is because that was that
- 8:33was the team that drafted my favorite player.
- 8:34Growing up, I had favorite players in sports and I rooted
- 8:38for those players. When John Van Beesbrook was
- 8:40treated from the Rangers and we've had Neil Smith on a show
- 8:43and everybody knows the story. When he was traded to Vancouver
- 8:45and then went into the expansion draft of the Florida Panthers.
- 8:48I rooted for the Florida Panthers because I followed my
- 8:50favorite player. When eventually he stopped in
- 8:53with the Islanders for a year and a half, I just stayed an
- 8:56Islander fan. I would and call myself, but I
- 8:58was young. I was 13 years old.
- 9:00So if you want to say I was a front runner, that's what you
- 9:03call a front runner. But Van Bieswerk wasn't Michael
- 9:05Jordan. I didn't go and become a Chicago
- 9:07fan because Michael Jordan was there.
- 9:09I hated Michael Jordan. Florida was also an expansion.
- 9:11You didn't know they were not good, I.
- 9:13Didn't know they were going to Van Bieswerk was one the one
- 9:15that made them that good, you know, But the fact here is when
- 9:18I look at the NCAA and I look at this, this tournament, it opens
- 9:22up opportunity. NIL opportunities for these
- 9:25kids, That's the way I look at this.
- 9:26If if there's anything that I could approve on this
- 9:30opportunity of expanding to 76 teams, is the NIL, the money
- 9:34that these kids can make and maybe recruiting these players
- 9:38won't be so hard on these non conference teams.
- 9:41Yeah, I like it for the players perspective.
- 9:43Now, here's the thing I do worry about it because it's mostly the
- 9:45power conference teams that are advocating for it, is that the
- 9:48NCAA is still going to let in a lot of these quote UN quote
- 9:50mediocre teams just because they either they have a harder
- 9:52strength, the schedule or they played the hard conference
- 9:54games. Like I, I think Zu's kind of
- 9:57mentioning the private chat too. You want those other Group of
- 9:59five teams to be rewarded. Errol, you kind of mentioned
- 10:01that too. Like you want to see more of
- 10:02those second tier conferences being rewarded.
- 10:04You want to see San Diego State? And when I say it gets it and by
- 10:08the way for everybody to say when I say non conference teams,
- 10:11I'm talking about the big conferences, that's what I'm
- 10:13talking, not the SEC. Or the.
- 10:15ACC Correct. No non power 5 conference.
- 10:18That's what that's where if the committee can kind of level it
- 10:22out where they don't just cater to those conferences, then it
- 10:24could work. If they do just cater to them
- 10:27because, oh, you have Bruce Pearl complaining that Auburn
- 10:29didn't get in or Oklahoma or one of these other bubble teams that
- 10:32didn't get in from a power conference that still had a a
- 10:34fringe 500 record. Yeah.
- 10:36Then the process isn't going to look at it's good.
- 10:37Then it's going to look like a money grab for those conferences
- 10:39because the NCAA is not really the ones that have the power.
- 10:42It's those conferences that are really leveraging this the most.
- 10:45The SEC, the Big 10 especially, are going to leverage this the
- 10:47most because they're the richest ones.
- 10:49But the Big 12 in the ACC. Here's my question.
- 10:51I'm sorry to cut you off, but here's my question.
- 10:54The college rankings, they were talking about maybe making it
- 10:57into two conferences, making all the these teams into two
- 11:01conferences. Remember when we were speaking
- 11:02about this and we were arguing? This Jeff brought it up and
- 11:05we've mentioned many times since then.
- 11:07Instead of having a, a pack, you know, a PAC 12 or whatever, a
- 11:11Big 10 and whatever they call these power power 5 conferences.
- 11:15Instead of doing that, putting the ACC, the SEC and the Big 10
- 11:19together and then making another power conference and that's it.
- 11:222 conferences and they play against one another to get into
- 11:25the tournament. That to me makes more sense than
- 11:28having all these different conferences and what do they
- 11:30call it? The Mountain Conference and.
- 11:32Yeah, the Mountain West you got, Yeah.
- 11:34I mean, yeah, Conference USA stop with this crap.
- 11:38Just put them all. Two different right A. 10 I
- 11:41mean, it makes no sense. It doesn't make any sense
- 11:44anymore. But you would hope that the
- 11:45committee is still going to reward those teams for still the
- 11:48high quality of play compared to a team that stumbled in just
- 11:51because they were playing a harder strength of schedule.
- 11:53You still lost a game. But that's what scares these
- 11:55kids to go into the I'm not doing that.
- 11:58Who wants to go to a Mountain West team when they can go to an
- 12:02SEC team? No, I'm with you.
- 12:03I like it for the players. I just don't like it for the
- 12:04quality. That's why.
- 12:06My opinion is it's just making it to two power conferences, 2
- 12:09conferences, put them, put the teams, you know, decide where
- 12:13these teams are going and that's it.
- 12:15Stop with this all 5 power conferences and then you have
- 12:17all these other conferences. And but these other conferences
- 12:20because of their strength of schedule, they can, unless they
- 12:22go undefeated, they can't make the tournament.
- 12:24It doesn't make any sense. If they're playing.
- 12:27Just let them figure out how you're going to make your
- 12:29schedules if they have harder schedules, if you put the harder
- 12:31teams against the the non harder teams.
- 12:34And that also brings the opportunity for these kids to
- 12:37get recruited these, you know, mountain, Mountain West teams or
- 12:41whatever you call these different there.
- 12:43If there's no if there's two conferences, then you don't have
- 12:46to worry about, well, if I go to this school, I'm never going to
- 12:48make the tournament. There's no chance I could play
- 12:50in this tournament. But if I go to the SEC or the
- 12:53ACCI got a better chance. That's why I think you if you're
- 12:57going to do this, you might as well just turn it into and Jeff
- 12:59is absolutely shout out to Jeff. He's absolutely right.
- 13:02Just make it into two big conferences and let them play
- 13:05against one another. But I think it's already enough
- 13:08underdogs that already get access to the tournament
- 13:11initially and so I don't understand conference.
- 13:13Wins not because at large bids though.
- 13:15Huh. Because of them winning their
- 13:17conference, not because of at large bids.
- 13:19Yeah, but but but also now we're going to add like what, 8 more
- 13:22underdog teams to, to, to get in and to have a chance to compete.
- 13:26I feel like in regards to the money where the big schools
- 13:29already play the smaller schools and pay them for a win.
- 13:33So there's money already been given gifted to these smaller
- 13:36schools or whatnot. I just, I mean, it's a money
- 13:38graph for sure. March Madness is what top three
- 13:40top five biggest sports? Number one, Number one for
- 13:45sports betting #1 for sports betting.
- 13:46Oh yeah. Number one, so you know that's
- 13:49it's already a golden cow already.
- 13:51So I just don't really understand the metric behind
- 13:54adding at least eight more teams.
- 13:56And then if you're going to do that, are you going to cut
- 13:58regular season schedule because all of these games ain't no way
- 14:02they're going to fit into the the month of March.
- 14:05Like you're going to be playing either into April or you're
- 14:08going to be have to start in February to just the.
- 14:11End to start the season earlier or they're going to have to
- 14:14reduce the conference. Tournament.
- 14:15But I'd rather I would. I would rather see more
- 14:17competition. I want to see more competition,
- 14:20quality competition. Instead of watching this garbage
- 14:22at the tail end of the season and then you watch conference
- 14:25championships, how about just wave the conference
- 14:27championships, Make 2 conferences and whoever has the
- 14:30better records at the end of the year, the top 76 teams make it
- 14:34or the top 76 schedules that have the multiple big wins get
- 14:39to go and make the tournament. That would make more sense.
- 14:41It's well if you win your conference well then you can get
- 14:43voted in. Who cares?
- 14:45Who cares if you win your conference?
- 14:48It to me it doesn't make any difference.
- 14:49You can win the trophy and get knocked out in the first round,
- 14:52so it it does. What about the NIT?
- 14:54So basically the NIT games are stupid shift.
- 14:57So it's the. In the the at the end of the
- 15:01tournament, yes. So those teams are crappy teams
- 15:04that make. Yeah.
- 15:04There be more from there, yes. Yeah, so not have the NIT
- 15:08anymore. Is the NIT really bringing in
- 15:09money? Nobody goes skipping.
- 15:12Nobody watches the NIT. Yeah, nobody does they.
- 15:14They took the value from it. It was absolutely a good thing
- 15:17like a couple years ago. Like it was legit in regards to
- 15:20like a secondary option to watch on TV at the.
- 15:23While we're doing now the football effect, they're
- 15:25skipping bowl games. Let's let's throw this, OK, when
- 15:29you watch ESPN every night when NIT is going on, does ESPN put
- 15:34that as a top story? They never do.
- 15:36It's the last story. It's the last story of the hour
- 15:39special. Nobody cares.
- 15:41And the ESPN pretty much throws it out there.
- 15:43Nobody cares about NIT. So what are these schools doing?
- 15:46Why do you even want to play in the NIT?
- 15:48Notre Dame, remember, nor the team was supposed to play in a
- 15:50ball game. They decided not to play in the
- 15:53ball game because they got screwed out of the tournament
- 15:55and that's the way it should go. Why would I want to play in the
- 15:58NIT's? Why do?
- 15:59Why do I care if I win the NIT championship?
- 16:01Nobody cares. Nobody cares if you win that
- 16:04super trophy, nobody cares. Just get rid of the NIT's 76
- 16:10teams and stop with this. Play in this and play in there
- 16:13and turn it into the NBA. The NBA is an absolute joke when
- 16:15they're doing this. It's it's AA just did it too
- 16:18with the football, right? They expected in 12 and that
- 16:22ain't going. That was over 2.
- 16:23Four was way too small for. That it's just stupid.
- 16:26See, the NFL is different, and I'll tell you why.
- 16:28The NFL because you play one game.
- 16:30That's it. You play one, but they better
- 16:31add another game they're trying to add.
- 16:34Well, well, here's the thing. It's a cash cow.
- 16:37The NFL is a cash cow the way Roger Goodell looks at it.
- 16:40And it's pretty simple. Hey, we play one extra game.
- 16:43Think about this. How many sponsors are we going
- 16:46to bring in? How many jerseys are we going to
- 16:48sell? How many games are we going to
- 16:51sell out? That's the way he looks at it.
- 16:53And he's right. And it brings more money for the
- 16:55players, the owners and the league.
- 16:57And that's what they're doing. Now all of a sudden, how many
- 17:00foreign games are? Do they play international
- 17:01games? Do they play every single year?
- 17:03Now they're playing in a Germany, Brazil, all over the
- 17:05place. Why don't you make, why don't
- 17:08you do this? Why don't you just make an
- 17:09international football team and get it over with already?
- 17:13That'll be good. We we should have one like NBA
- 17:15got Toronto. I think that'll be good.
- 17:17Yeah, that's a good idea. But I'll be as a former football
- 17:20player, I tell you right now, no football player wants to play 19
- 17:23weeks. How you say that right now we're
- 17:25not for it at all. So they don't benefit us at all,
- 17:27even though you think it do because of the check.
- 17:29But we do that won't to play like T we said they're headed to
- 17:32the playoffs. It's rugged, right?
- 17:34No, nobody wants to see that. I, I just think when, when you
- 17:38look at these leagues and it doesn't matter if it's the NCAA,
- 17:41college football, college basketball or the NBA, the NHL,
- 17:45the MLB or the NFL, it's all about a money scheme.
- 17:49It's always about money. They say it's not a going, it's
- 17:52not going to be a, a huge money boost.
- 17:54Everybody knows with these NIL deals and NIL companies, the,
- 17:59the opportunity to bring in money and these kids, they see
- 18:02the opportunity. Look how many kids decided to go
- 18:04back to play college basketball next season.
- 18:07Why did they do that? They don't have to go in the
- 18:09first round because they're making millions and millions of
- 18:11dollars off the NIL deals. And until they figure that out,
- 18:14and I say this, I was for the NIL deals before it even came
- 18:17out. For for years, I've been repping
- 18:20these players, these college players to make money.
- 18:22But now that all these kids are making so much money and there's
- 18:25opportunity to make millions and millions of dollars, there's no
- 18:28control over it anymore. What happened?
- 18:30You said you was rooted. For no, I'm sorry, not there has
- 18:35to be a cap. There has to be, there has to be
- 18:38because, because what's going on?
- 18:40What's going, what's going on right now?
- 18:42These kids, these college kids are making so much money.
- 18:45They're, they don't know what to do with the money.
- 18:47And then they're starting to do stupid things off the field.
- 18:51And guess what? The NCAA didn't know what to do
- 18:53with those billions of dollars, and they was making stupid
- 18:55decisions as well. There's no question.
- 18:58I mean, Johnny Manzel did that and he did a lot of stupid
- 19:02things. But the, the fact here is
- 19:04there's got to be some kind of control.
- 19:06There has to be control. If there's no control, the
- 19:09league is going to go haywire. And, and again, I look at these
- 19:12kids, I, I want these kids to make as much money as they
- 19:15possibly can. I'm behind it.
- 19:16I'm for it. Everything that's going on with
- 19:19the transition of these leagues and and college into
- 19:21professional sports, what hurts the sport is let's say you're a
- 19:26New York Jet fan and we've seen this happen.
- 19:29Remember, there was a chance that The Jets could have gotten
- 19:32Peyton Manning and Peyton Manning decided because he had
- 19:35one more year left, he could go back to play college football
- 19:39and play one more year college football because he didn't want
- 19:42to play for The Jets. He did not want to go to The
- 19:44Jets. So what did The Jets have to do?
- 19:45They had to draft Keyshawn Johnson.
- 19:47Now it's a consolation prize. It wasn't a great one because he
- 19:51started with Wayne Quebec called him a flashlight and we all know
- 19:53what happened to him. He went to the Buccaneers and
- 19:55win the Super Bowl with them. The fact here is I sit here
- 19:58today, there has to be some kind of control.
- 20:01And if there's no control, if if a player and their father says,
- 20:06oh, I don't want to play for that team, well, I'm going to go
- 20:08back and play college football. I don't care because I'm making
- 20:10all this money anyways. I could play one more year and
- 20:13not enough to go to that organization and that team
- 20:15because they're an absolute joke.
- 20:16And that's what's going to happen with Arch Manning.
- 20:18I'm telling you, mark my words, guys, remember I said this, if
- 20:22it's Miami or The Jets at the top of that draft.
- 20:25Remember I said this, Arch Manning is not going to come out
- 20:28next year. He is not.
- 20:29You best believe he's got that Red Bull contract.
- 20:32He's making five and a half million dollars.
- 20:34Why does he need to come out? He does not need to come out.
- 20:37Just go to the playoffs. There it is again.
- 20:39There it is again with the. Jets Well, here's the here's the
- 20:42thing though, why is it when the players get controlled, there
- 20:45becomes an issue when organizations in these leagues
- 20:48has have controlled all the whole time and they can misuse
- 20:51us, they can misuse the players, they can put us in bad
- 20:53positions. And let's be honest, if you're
- 20:55not doing a good job at getting the right coaches and creating
- 20:58the culture, why am I obligated to go to you?
- 21:01Because I have the option to come out instead of doing what's
- 21:04best for me and going back to school and getting a better
- 21:08option in regards to team and organization.
- 21:10That's what I'm trying to figure out.
- 21:11I don't understand why there's an issue when the players do it,
- 21:14but the league, we see it around the league all the time.
- 21:16The league Trade, trade, trade picks, trade players.
- 21:20They draft this player for one or two years, then get rid of
- 21:24them. Bitch players, you know, and
- 21:25just set people up for a bad to have bad career.
- 21:28So once the players got the control now and they have the
- 21:31option to be able to make a decision, it seems like
- 21:34everybody has an issue saying that it's running rampant when
- 21:36it's like, no, like if I can go back in school to pay another
- 21:39year and get with a better program, why wouldn't I do that
- 21:42versus just going to an organization that sucks and they
- 21:46trying to be better and then put me in a bad position and I have
- 21:49to figure it out. Cute.
- 21:51Now they're taking away where they're trying to make rules
- 21:53where you can only portal one time, one time in your college
- 21:57career, because now they are players jumping ship.
- 22:00They're going from one team to another team to another team and
- 22:03they have all the time in the world to stay there.
- 22:05They got four years that they could play.
- 22:07Some of them could play five years.
- 22:08We've seen players play five years of college ball, yes.
- 22:12So it happens like that and it works.
- 22:14But, and now they could jump ship.
- 22:16But now the NCAA is figuring out ways where they can't do that,
- 22:19where if you jump ship, you decide after two years you're
- 22:22going here, you can't jump to another team just because you
- 22:24can get more money from NIL companies and I and IL deals.
- 22:27And that's that's where I think they're going to be able to
- 22:29close in or figure out how to control this and the money that
- 22:33these kids are making because you can jump ship whenever you
- 22:36want. And it's a big problem because
- 22:38you have guys like, I'm not going to mention names, guys,
- 22:42coaches going to Saudi Arabia trying to find money there.
- 22:44And you know what I'm talking about, All right?
- 22:46You know what I'm talking about Deon Sanders, who goes over
- 22:49there and he's trying to find every bit of the money he could
- 22:51possibly use to bring in NIL companies and and money to pay
- 22:55these kids. Oh, you want to come and play
- 22:57for me? I'm going to get you $1,000,000.
- 22:58I'm going to get you 2 million. I'm going to get you 5 million.
- 23:00Hey, where are you getting it? Who cares where I'm getting it?
- 23:03I'm getting it somewhere. I got it in my back pocket.
- 23:05I know a Prince from Saudi Arabia.
- 23:07That's the problem right now. When you can get money and you
- 23:11can drive that money wherever you want, that's the problem.
- 23:14There has to be control before this gets it becomes in a gun
- 23:18slinging. They're not, you know what
- 23:19parents are going to do? They're just going to red shirt,
- 23:22but they go sit out like they just going to choose.
- 23:24That why then you're not going to get.
- 23:26Dressed, you're not happy with your results and that's what I
- 23:29said. What it does is the coaches need
- 23:32to take the responsibility and be able to impact the player and
- 23:35create a culture where the the actual player wants to stay.
- 23:38Obviously some of the stuff is money driven, but at the end of
- 23:41the it's all money driven. Most Power 5 schools can afford
- 23:45the player, however, they don't know how to actually coach the
- 23:49player and to helping him understand personnel, understand
- 23:53where he fits in and actually have a successful career.
- 23:57These coaches are making 10s of millions of dollars.
- 24:00They're making ridiculous money. You have Nick Saban coaching.
- 24:03You have Nick Saban going out there.
- 24:04I don't want to coach anymore because I think the NIL
- 24:06companies are overpaying these players.
- 24:08He's going out there, but it's OK for him to make eighteen, $19
- 24:11million every single season? That doesn't make any sense.
- 24:14Jim Harbold does what he does. Whatever happened over there?
- 24:17Michigan jump ship and gets what, 20, $1,000,000 or $18
- 24:21million from the the Chargers. It's a big problem.
- 24:25It to me, there's so much money. It's all about money.
- 24:27Professional sports, college sports, it's all money driven.
- 24:31It has nothing to do. Oh, I want to go play there
- 24:33because they're a champion. Oh, I want to go play in
- 24:35Georgia. No, I want to go into Georgia
- 24:36because they're going to give me a million and a half dollars to
- 24:39come over there under the table. That's why I'm going to Georgia.
- 24:42That's the facts and that's the problem right now.
- 24:44College football and college basketball.
- 24:47It's betting now these kids are figuring out ways how how they
- 24:50can hide and, and find somebody to bet or bet on a sport and bet
- 24:54against them because they know what's going to happen or they
- 24:56know a player that's heard they know it.
- 24:59And Allen Iverson said it best. And I, I heard him on a podcast.
- 25:02He says this is going to affect not only college basketball, but
- 25:05the NBA for the worst. And you've seen what's going on
- 25:08with Chauncey Billups and everything Jones and Rozier.
- 25:11The problem right now in professional sports is there's
- 25:14so much money to be made, so much money to be made.
- 25:17And it scares me because these kids, all they have to do is
- 25:21make one mistake, bet on sports, do that their careers over,
- 25:24careers over. Because all they care about is
- 25:26how much I can get in college, how much I can make off a stupid
- 25:30little bet under the table out. It's going to make me $50,000
- 25:33when I can make a a million and a half dollars for a signing
- 25:36bonus to go into the New York Knicks.
- 25:38It makes no sense. Figure Figure betting.
- 25:40That's what they do it. For not a Sonic, but there's no
- 25:43Sonic bonus with names. But you know, we don't.
- 25:44Play the contract, we play to make money.
- 25:47Well, I understand that, but that's a big problem.
- 25:50That's the big no. It's not the love of the game.
- 25:52It's not for the love of the. Game too, yes, Never.
- 25:54It used to be, that's not no, never.
- 25:57Because there was everybody else was eating and stuff.
- 26:00It was never, it was never. It was always about the.
- 26:04Money. It was all right when it was
- 26:06getting paid under the table. Who who?
- 26:08See. Jerry Maguire.
- 26:10Anybody see Jerry Maguire? Anybody remember that?
- 26:12That part? Remember when Jerry's in the
- 26:14bathroom, he says why do you play football?
- 26:16And he says, do you play for the love of the game?
- 26:18You play for the love of the game, Right, right, right.
- 26:21You do your job, I'll do mine. He looked at him.
- 26:24It was always about the money. It was always about the money.
- 26:27That's what Cuban, Cuban junior said.
- 26:30He he made it. He pretty much flipped it on
- 26:33you. Yes, it's always about the
- 26:34money. Has nothing to do with the
- 26:36sport. Nothing.
- 26:38Well, I know somebody that always does it for the money.
- 26:42He does it in the second-half. Speedy, bring them in.
- 26:45Yes, indeed it's. We got Mr. Chaz triumphant
- 26:48return. We were waiting for him and I, I
- 26:51want to say something. Welcome back, Chaz, I'm going to
- 26:54say. That's been here for a little.
- 26:55Bit we got Chaz in we're going to go into this parlay.
- 26:57We got let's parlay and we're going to get into it When we
- 27:00were waiting I I knew I wanted to attack this this way.
- 27:04I'm sorry, Chaz, but my my plan here is is I I think that
- 27:08something needs to be corrected here.
- 27:09You want to expand you want to bring in money.
- 27:11You think this is better for the sport that's great.
- 27:14You think it's going to eventually take all take this
- 27:16sports to higher heights, that's great.
- 27:18But when these things that are going on in professional sports
- 27:21and college sports and it's uncontrolled and now this
- 27:23betting thing is only going to get worse.
- 27:25That's what scares me. That's where these kids are
- 27:27going to get arrested. That's where these kids are
- 27:29never going to play professional sports because they have no
- 27:31control. There's no control over the
- 27:33money that's being brought to the table.
- 27:35That's my argument here and that's why I think this is not
- 27:38good for the sport. All right, we call this Let's
- 27:40parlay. Welcome back, Chaz.
- 27:55I'm sorry we held you up, but to me, we got to get into what
- 28:00really is the problem right now in college sports and
- 28:03professional sports, it's all about money.
- 28:05And you know, here's my take, here's my take.
- 28:08There was a £300 guy, right? And he didn't have money for
- 28:12food Sunday night because his car didn't work, right?
- 28:15They don't get meals that Sunday night.
- 28:16And I'm laughing. That guy's flipped.
- 28:18Now he owns a McDonald's. Come on, talk to me.
- 28:23He just told you now that guy owns a McDonald's.
- 28:25Big problem. Now he can go to McDonald's
- 28:27anytime he wants. Hey, I want a hamburger, I want
- 28:30a Whopper, I want some fries. Get me some frost.
- 28:33There's no. Frost in there.
- 28:34I'm telling you right now you're a top if you're a top rated
- 28:37player, you could say to a guy that owns 5 or 6 or some of
- 28:41these guys own 20 McDonald's, right?
- 28:43I want a McDonald's franchise and I'll go play that IL for you
- 28:46and I guarantee one day someone's going to get.
- 28:49It's already happened to Chaz, you right?
- 28:51It's definitely going to happen. All right, Chaz, you know
- 28:53anybody doesn't know, let's parlay.
- 28:55Chaz is going to give us his top three picks of the week and his
- 28:59fourth to parlay. Are you ready, Chaz?
- 29:01He's. Got a bunch of Derby stuff.
- 29:03Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on.
- 29:05What week is it? Oh yeah, it is Derby, Derby
- 29:08week. And there's not a shot in the
- 29:11hell I'm looking at the hockey game this week.
- 29:13I'm not looking at a basketball game.
- 29:15Yeah, March Madness could roll around in the first week of May
- 29:18and I might not even watch March Madness.
- 29:20And I had the Michigan in my bracket, so no.
- 29:24So, Chaz, you're gonna. Set a championship.
- 29:25Basketball, the queue how you feeling Chaz, before we get into
- 29:29this, how you feeling? I we haven't seen you in a
- 29:30while. Well, you know what, you know
- 29:33why, right? I took I took a sabbatical to
- 29:36finish my screenplay and my sitcom pilot and they're done.
- 29:40Good for you. So I am now in the process of I
- 29:42got them proofed, send them out to some people.
- 29:45I probably, I don't know, two weeks away from aggressively
- 29:49looking for a production producers and agents and stuff.
- 29:52So pretty excited about that. Well, maybe you can get one of
- 29:55us on your nice little. I got a little stick.
- 29:57There's no doubt about. I might have to step right into
- 30:01the movie theaters, you know? Everything I every story I tell
- 30:05has sports betting in it. So there you go.
- 30:06But So what I'm thinking is I'll just start with there's, there's
- 30:102 pages. I have remember I have, this is
- 30:12my 20th year. So I started capturing the date
- 30:15IN20O72OO7. Now it's 2:20, it's 220 years.
- 30:20This is 20th year. And we do very well.
- 30:23As you know, every single year with the same guys, we go to Del
- 30:26Mar, we get all banged up, doped out, we have a good time and
- 30:30then we go to dinner. But we almost every single year
- 30:33we hit the the trifecta. And last year, of course, I gave
- 30:38out on this very show. No, it wasn't called less less
- 30:40probably last year. I don't.
- 30:41Think it was it was it? Was was it?
- 30:44Yeah, I gave out this very. I gave out the the cold 1.
- 30:47You hit the one exact. Yeah, you're hit.
- 30:49You're 80. $4000 or whatever that was, yeah.
- 30:52Yeah, yeah. So what happens is I, I judge by
- 30:55all these variables and then I give a point.
- 30:57If you're in the top and so like it's your 6 for a long time,
- 31:01your mile time, it's buyers, it's 88 or 9 different
- 31:05variables. And then I just see how many
- 31:07they have. And so this is what I do.
- 31:09And, and then in my notes, it says trust the data because it's
- 31:14done so well. We're talking about 73% of the
- 31:17time I've had the winning horse for the Kentucky Derby.
- 31:20Those are pretty good numbers, right?
- 31:21That's, that's now, that's only for 11 years though, because I
- 31:25didn't capture it. I didn't for 20 since 2007.
- 31:29I got the data, but I didn't, you know, see how good I was
- 31:31doing until 2015. But even that's eleven years.
- 31:34That's pretty good. So, So what I got is further
- 31:37ado, Golden Tempo and so happy. They all have 7 points.
- 31:41They all have top buyers, they've raced in the best races
- 31:44they can close. They got good times.
- 31:46Those are my top three. So last year it was, I think it
- 31:50was one of those numbers as well.
- 31:52It was sovereignty and journalism, right?
- 31:54I saw them 1-2 this this year I I really think for introduce the
- 31:58best horse in the race, but it's a Derby.
- 32:01All it takes right is 1 horse to kick something in your face.
- 32:03There's twenty of them These some of these races guys that
- 32:06are preferences. They have 5 freaking horses in
- 32:09it. You go from five horses to 20
- 32:11horses. Think about it.
- 32:13So, so that's my top three further ado Golden Tempo and so
- 32:16happy. Then I have a second page where
- 32:19I put my bets together and that's where I put together the
- 32:24trifecta bets and the exact and I'll do super fectas as well.
- 32:27But in the old days of normal betting, it's a $0.10 bet on
- 32:31Derby day would overwhelm them. So they make it a dollar
- 32:34supplied demand curve, you know, so I'll have some of those.
- 32:38That's now those normally are that changes your day.
- 32:41You hit a try, you hit this Derby super fecta, it changes
- 32:45your day and some people have changed their life if they get
- 32:48lucky and they're betting numbers, I'm never going to have
- 32:51it change my life because I'm the horses I'm betting are good.
- 32:54The thing is on the Derby day, you could get away with some of
- 32:56that. So the top six horses were those
- 32:59three further ado. Oh, I get.
- 33:01So here's what I said to somebody today.
- 33:02This is cute. I said I am so happy that out
- 33:08without further ado, I can tell you that I hope I hope Golden
- 33:12Temple wins the Kentucky Derby. And they didn't get it.
- 33:16They didn't get that was just the three horses I like.
- 33:18So the next group is Chief Wallaby Commandment and Silent
- 33:22tactic. Now Silent tactic was Wes's
- 33:24pony. He got scratched though.
- 33:26Then the next two are potent, potent.
- 33:29I don't even know how to pronounce.
- 33:30I think that's Baffert's horse and Renegade and then emerging
- 33:32market and incredible. So I watch every race, every
- 33:36single race that led up to this. I watched it twice.
- 33:39I do it every year. This is the biggest week of my
- 33:42this is almost Christmas. Christmas is better, but this is
- 33:45called and so I have further ado Golden Temple.
- 33:50So happy renegade and incredible.
- 33:52I have that five horses. So I'm going to give those
- 33:55numbers out 18111819. I'm telling you right now, I
- 34:01think it's 60 bucks. You box it for 60 bucks and you
- 34:07thank me later. I thank you for joining us, as
- 34:11you always are. Yeah, you know what?
- 34:13I'll tell you once, once I get once I get somebody to see my
- 34:17vision with my writing and my and my scripts and stuff.
- 34:20I mean, one's 100 pages and one's 30 pages.
- 34:23So it's a lot of writing. Then I could come on as an
- 34:26author. Yeah.
- 34:28That would be cool. Anything you do, you try to do
- 34:31at 100. Percent, you have to come up.
- 34:33With a high level. You got to come up with a pen
- 34:35name now. Well, no, no.
- 34:38I mean, it's, it's it's Mark Chaz Velardi.
- 34:41That's me. I mean, that's what I know.
- 34:43If you know me, if you know me, you call me Chaz.
- 34:46If you don't really know me, you call me Mark.
- 34:49That's kind of how it rolls. There you go.
- 34:51You got to be nice to him. Yeah, you call him Chazzy.
- 34:53I, I like the AI Tommy, you know, Tommy's been out a couple
- 34:56times. He's doing that.
- 34:57But that one in the right hand corner, that's the shirt.
- 35:00I'm I'm wearing my sports betting weekly shirt Saturday to
- 35:03the Derby. So I'm telling you right now, if
- 35:06I hit the trifecta, the Super factor, there will be a video of
- 35:09me and it may be a lot of. Beeps he'll be.
- 35:12He'll be like this. No, you know what, let me tell
- 35:18you. That's bottles, by the way, boys
- 35:21and girls. When you've got the program,
- 35:23when you've got the program rolled up in your hand and
- 35:25you're watching the big screen and you're hitting your ass,
- 35:28you're hitting your own ass. There's nothing like it, man.
- 35:31Speedy does it every. Night don't give Nathan any
- 35:33idea. Speedy does it every night.
- 35:35He smacks his ass every night before he goes to bed and then
- 35:38he wakes up at 12. I'll check in with, I already
- 35:41checked it with Wes. I check in with pretty much
- 35:43everybody Derby day. And actually, you know, for me,
- 35:46it's a tough one because I lost my stepdad and my mom two months
- 35:50apart recently. And So what happens is the the
- 35:53Yeah, well, that was every year on Derby day.
- 35:55Every year, Every year because he was a big horse race player.
- 35:59How's your father doing? I mean, how's I'm not enough,
- 36:01Father, How's your brother doing?
- 36:03Yeah, You know, he's better. He's better.
- 36:05But he's, you know what he got? He had a couple grandkids come
- 36:07into his life and so he was able to, he was in the military
- 36:10retiree. So he's able to live the good
- 36:13life now. And that's really helping
- 36:14because he's, you know, he's suffering from memory issues,
- 36:17but he's got people that are there.
- 36:19So he's starting to embrace. I just, they tell me what to do
- 36:22when I do it. And that's, and I, and I, you
- 36:25know what I told him, you know, he's not really religious and I
- 36:28am, I said, you know what I'm telling you, that's a gift, man.
- 36:31You know, a lot of people look like a curse, but you look like
- 36:33a gift. And it's a special thing because
- 36:35he's got people to love him. They take care of him.
- 36:37He goes on his golf trip, one of the nephews goes with them.
- 36:40I pick him up, I take him to the airport, I wait and get him on
- 36:43the plane. You know, we do that stuff and
- 36:45and because, you know, you when you love somebody, you hate to
- 36:49see him suffering, you know? So, well, what you do is you do
- 36:52what Aaron Aaron Rodgers does. He pretends he has a woman that
- 36:55he married and he names his aunt Brittany and he puts that ring
- 36:58finger on his hand. That man's married.
- 37:01He's not. Nobody's met her.
- 37:03Nobody's met. This lady.
- 37:05Nobody's met this lady. He's a private life.
- 37:08Oh really? Private life?
- 37:10That man has a private life. He made a Netflix documentary.
- 37:15Who was that? Who's Bill Lee?
- 37:16Remember Bill Lee? He was in a little space.
- 37:18This dudes, you got him. That dudes out there, he lives
- 37:20in a different world. Different world.
- 37:23She's he's telling you, I mean live.
- 37:25In a. Different world he live in a
- 37:28different. Yeah, we married to his hand.
- 37:29We will. Also, we will also do mushrooms
- 37:32Saturday at the Derby, but I'm not going to go into.
- 37:35A cave in the. Desert.
- 37:38I wouldn't mind doing that. That's a fun time, man.
- 37:41That's a fun time. Right, gentlemen.
- 37:44So you got the numbers, you wrote them down.
- 37:46Petty. Yes, he's got it.
- 37:48And Speedy. I told I here's the thing I my
- 37:52wife needs a new piece of furniture.
- 37:54So I told her if I if I hit the for 1700 or more I'll buy her
- 37:58furniture. Speedy will have his Speedy will
- 38:01have his hands in his pants when that that that shot goes off.
- 38:04Here we go. And he'll be running all the way
- 38:06down. I'm just kidding.
- 38:08Anyway, go baby. Chaz we.
- 38:09Got stay out of trouble. Huh.
- 38:10Yes. We'll try.
- 38:11We'll try. We'll try.
- 38:12We'll talk soon. Yes, Chaz, as always, he is
- 38:16fantastic. We're having a lot of fun
- 38:17tonight. I'm a little.
- 38:18There you go, baby. With it I wonder.
- 38:21Listen, I have a lot of crazy responses.
- 38:23I, I will say this for all the fans out there.
- 38:25When you do almost a four hour show, things go many different
- 38:30ways. And especially in the first part
- 38:34of the show when there's all arguing, pretty much, I want to
- 38:37RIP his head off. He wants to RIP my head off and
- 38:39then I want to smack Speedy around half the time and then
- 38:42Fish jumps in because he just wants to piss me off even more.
- 38:44That's what that's how this works.
- 38:46That's how it works. Ladies and gentlemen, for
- 38:48anybody that doesn't want this show or listens to this show or
- 38:52downloads this show, downloading and just see how these guys just
- 38:56pissed me off every single show. Anyway.
- 38:59You know what? I'm going to shut up you.
- 39:01I mean, this is going to be for the next two weeks.
- 39:05These teeth jokes. Listen, they're not that bad.
- 39:08They're actually pretty good. Look, let's see.
- 39:10Look. They're pretty.
- 39:13Good. What's the speed?
- 39:14What's the dude? Mr. Rogers?
- 39:16Is it Mr. Rogers? They're good, they look good,
- 39:21but they're not. They're not before.
- 39:23My time, they're not my good. Ones all right, shut up, Q You
- 39:26know I I got to sit here and listen.
- 39:29I got to listen to this listen if I can actually put my hand in
- 39:34the screen and smack you around a couple times I'd do that.
- 39:37I would do that, man. I would go too short.
- 39:40I'd be like 5-2. I am not 5 two.
- 39:43Wait until you meet me. You're you're an idiot, You and
- 39:46Jabba, you guys have like this thing like.
- 39:48I'm gonna Jabba even call you 52.
- 39:50No, you know what's funny when Jabba, when I saw, I've met
- 39:53Jabba a couple of Times Now and when I saw Jabba recently, I'm
- 39:56like, I, I the first thing I said, 510 and a quarter.
- 39:59You're going to you're going to make fun of my size.
- 40:01You're not that much taller than me, Mr. Jobster.
- 40:04And he looked at me and says I'm still taller than you.
- 40:06You, you, you, you called me some shrimp.
- 40:08Get the hell out of here. I'll body slam you, Jabby.
- 40:11Anyways, I got to, I got to move on.
- 40:13We got to move on. Anyways, we call this dial it
- 40:15up. We interrupt this regularly
- 40:17scheduled hot mix to bring you important news book.
- 40:20We got a big. Broadcast to do here.
- 40:22We're about to dial it all it up.
- 40:26Wow, look at that. Welcome back to Dial It Up.
- 40:30It's moving faster than ever before.
- 40:33This is everyone's favorite segment because it's a lightning
- 40:36round sports segment with stories that Errol has not seen
- 40:40yet. He's going to dial up a take and
- 40:43then we're going to react to his on the spot reaction.
- 40:46Errol, Are you ready to dial it up?
- 40:49Yeah, just throw it at me. Here's the one that we have to
- 40:52start with. Steve Kerr came out the other
- 40:55day and said that Draymond Green is the best defensive player he
- 41:01has ever seen. And here's the quote.
- 41:05And that's saying something. That's saying a lot given that I
- 41:09played with Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman.
- 41:13He said that to an interview in The New Yorker.
- 41:16The modern game demands so much more than it did in the 90s.
- 41:21You have to be able to guard all 5 positions because there's so
- 41:25much pace and energy and cross matches.
- 41:28You race back on defense, you've got to guard the guy in front of
- 41:31you. Then there's the pick on game.
- 41:33The opposing team is going to bring the weakest defender into
- 41:35every pick and roll to gain advantage.
- 41:37Draymond, he can guard any action, any position, any
- 41:41player. And he can also blow up up the
- 41:43play behind the play if he's not involved with the action because
- 41:46of his brain, his speed, his reach.
- 41:49I think he's no more than six. 5 1/2 Draymond the best defensive
- 41:54player you ever saw. Dial it up.
- 41:58How many tons does Steve Kerr put his hands in his pants?
- 42:00I don't know. Every time.
- 42:02Draymond Green's next. Oh, boy.
- 42:03Here's the facts. Draymond Green is not the
- 42:07greatest defensive player of all time.
- 42:08There's a guy named, yeah, Bill Russell, who won 11
- 42:11championships. I'm not going to sit here and
- 42:13try to make up some kind of stupid attempts to try to
- 42:18nitpick players that I play with.
- 42:19He's not better than Scottie Pippen.
- 42:22He's not better than Dennis Rodman.
- 42:24He's not better than Michael Jordan at his position, who shut
- 42:27down players at his position at a top level.
- 42:30What is he drinking? What is he smoking?
- 42:32There's no way in hell Draymond Green is the greatest defensive
- 42:36player of all time right now in the league.
- 42:38Webbing. Yama's way better than he is.
- 42:40I'll tell you this, half the guys in the league is better
- 42:43than him. You're going to say if he's that
- 42:44great of a player, he should be up for defensive player of the
- 42:47year even at the age of 80. Get out of here.
- 42:51Yeah, and I'll tell you this, two out of those three, he
- 42:54should not have one defensive player of the year, just so you
- 42:56know, just so you know, he shouldn't have.
- 43:00No, he shouldn't have. Do you want me to?
- 43:04Do you want me to tell you who was?
- 43:05Around No, there's no you can't. There's nothing you can say.
- 43:07He has three trophies. Yeah, that's because I've said
- 43:10this. Say you can tell me the NBA, he.
- 43:13Has NBA gives these stupid trophies out to guys they love
- 43:18and Draymond Green they loved until he started going crazy in
- 43:22the middle of his career. He went crazy in his middle of
- 43:24his career. He.
- 43:25Did I'll give you that. He did.
- 43:30He was in in his first 567 years of the NBA.
- 43:33I love Draymond Green, as a matter of fact, Speedy.
- 43:35How many times have I gone back, forth, back and forth?
- 43:37Early in your time, I knew you kind of stuck.
- 43:39Up. I stuck up for Draymond Green.
- 43:41He's a two way basketball player to me.
- 43:43He was the backbone of the Golden State Warriors after the
- 43:47the ridiculousness that he was doing on and off the court,
- 43:51taking pictures of his you know what, and posting it up on
- 43:54Snapchat and all that other garbage and then doing things on
- 43:57the basketball court and then thinking that everybody's
- 44:01racist. Every time he had to say
- 44:03something to the media, it was like, you're racist, you're
- 44:06racist, you're racist. Play the Bam basketball game.
- 44:10Why are you even bringing this up?
- 44:12Nobody cares what you think, Draymond.
- 44:14Just go out there and play the game.
- 44:16Yeah. You guys share some of the same
- 44:18qualities in your personality, so I could see how you related
- 44:20to him early on in his career. I loved him.
- 44:23He was one of my favorite players early, early and then he
- 44:28went haywire. Real haywire.
- 44:30We say that about you sometimes as the show go too, so I can see
- 44:34the comparison. Well, I'm definitely haywire,
- 44:38there's no doubt. I mean.
- 44:39Kerr said. He's 6/5 and 1/2.
- 44:41You're 510 and a quarter, you know, same kind.
- 44:44Of not 5-10, let's cut it, OK? Wait till you see me.
- 44:47Wait. Till he's like 5-8 at best.
- 44:49I'm definitely not 58. I'd say he's 510.
- 44:52He's close to 510 if he's not 5-10. 5/8 is close.
- 44:55Shut up Q. Shut up Q.
- 44:59Listen, I could be 51058. I'll just take you down.
- 45:03I'll go wayside Dr. My shoulders drive my shoulders baby drive
- 45:09my. Shoulders behind none of this,
- 45:11you talk. About really, You think I have
- 45:12no strength? Wow, you just walk the trim
- 45:15though every day. Dude, no.
- 45:16I lift, dude. I lift.
- 45:18Dude, are you kidding me? I lift every day.
- 45:21I lift every day, buddy. Every.
- 45:23Day push us every day. Every push dude I do.
- 45:27Are you kidding me? I do 600 push ups a day.
- 45:31Sometimes just give me a break, you know, give me a break.
- 45:35They're not sponsored. I look at it.
- 45:37I'm I'm trying to get them to you see what I'm saying for.
- 45:40Showing them. I'm getting.
- 45:41Corbett, that you know. A big boot, I can tell you.
- 45:44That let's get that. Let's get that going here with
- 45:47the next one. We're gonna go to baseball
- 45:48Arrow. I told you about this the other
- 45:50day. Oh I love this.
- 45:52Major League Baseball force the Guardians to bench.
- 45:56They're starting broadcasting crew in favor of a younger crew
- 46:01in order to get this arrow. Preserve them to keep them fresh
- 46:05for the season. Yes, load management for
- 46:10broadcasters of a baseball game. This could only come from the
- 46:14great Rob Manfred. So here's the report.
- 46:17Let me read it to you because it's hard to believe this is a
- 46:19real story. Paul Hoynes of the cleveland.com
- 46:24MLB Local Media, which produced the Guardians telecast this
- 46:27season along with the local telecast for the for all 13
- 46:31other teams in the league, directed the Guardians to make
- 46:34some subtle changes to the broadcast booth.
- 46:38What they try to do is they basically are benching long time
- 46:41broadcasters to Matt Underwood and Rick Manning, who's done it
- 46:44for 37 years and saying and that last series against the Blue
- 46:49Jays last weekend, they forced these younger guys.
- 46:53Al Pelowski was play by play and former catcher Chris Jimenez was
- 46:59the color commentator. Chris Jimenez, ladies,
- 47:02gentlemen. A lot of people on social media
- 47:05were not happy with this decision and then as it got
- 47:09revealed the MLB was behind it, I thought you might have some
- 47:13feelings. When you dial it all, well, it's
- 47:17pretty simple. Rob Manfred, as Jabba calls him,
- 47:20or Manfred, whatever you want to call it, the guy is completely
- 47:24blind. He has absolutely no idea how to
- 47:26run an organization or a league. So he goes out there and an
- 47:29organization that has done so very well.
- 47:32If you look at the broadcasting that this organization has had
- 47:35over the years, they've not won in 70 or 80 years.
- 47:37It's been a long time, but this organization has consistency.
- 47:40You they've been an A top organization when it comes to
- 47:44developing players. And if you look at their
- 47:46broadcasting, I have Nick Goody. Nick Goody's a good friend of
- 47:48mine. He was broadcasting last year
- 47:50with some of the the older guys. They they decided not to go with
- 47:54him, but they're going to bring him and his they're going to
- 47:56bring all these guys. I don't even know the other guy.
- 47:58I don't want to ask where they found these guys.
- 48:01They're a bunch of idiots. I listened to their broadcast
- 48:03the other day after the fact that you told me this, I
- 48:06listened to the broadcast. They don't even know what
- 48:08they're watching. They have absolutely no idea if
- 48:11they know what a strike is or a bull is.
- 48:13One of the guys actually to a fly ball and they said it was
- 48:16caught when it was a home run it.
- 48:18It's pathetic. Honestly.
- 48:20Baseball needs to stay the hell away from these organizations.
- 48:23These organizations have done it right.
- 48:24Charlie Slows, good friend of the show, good friend of mine,
- 48:28this is a guy that has been fighting to keep his job year in
- 48:30and year out. He's afraid that some of these
- 48:32young guys are going to take his job away from them because
- 48:34they're looking to get younger. The younger guys don't know
- 48:37anything about the sport. They think they do.
- 48:40They want to believe they do, but they're complete morons.
- 48:43You know what I really think? Rob Manford's a moron.
- 48:46His idiocy, everything that he does for the league has ruined
- 48:49the league. So get him the hell out, 2028.
- 48:53Kick his ass out, Bam, bam. Outside of baseball, find
- 48:58somebody else that actually knows what he's doing.
- 49:00Rob Manfred, Manfred man ass man, hand job.
- 49:04Get him out of here. Yeah, it's ridiculous that
- 49:06they're trying to force certain off days on them.
- 49:08Like usually these broadcasters have a certain amount of games
- 49:11they do a year. I know, I don't know how it
- 49:13exactly works with the Guardians, but I know what the
- 49:15Mets like. Gary Cohen gets 120 games and
- 49:17he'll get to choose his own off days.
- 49:18Keith Hernandez, they want to choose his own something like
- 49:21for a guy that's that's been as with the team as long as he has,
- 49:24like why is he being forced to take particular off days in
- 49:28order to do that? Let him pick when he wants.
- 49:30I'm sure he has things scheduled with his family that he wants to
- 49:32go see. And you're going to force a
- 49:33particular game on a guy that's been with the team forever?
- 49:37You think Rob Manford cares about his?
- 49:39Only he doesn't, and that's the moronic thing here, that you're
- 49:43not respecting a well respected broadcaster to be able to pick
- 49:46his own off case. It's pathetic.
- 49:49It's absolutely pathetic. He should be ashamed of himself.
- 49:52Him in his red eyes, I guess he's a devil, or that's what
- 49:55he's trying to portray himself to be.
- 49:56He's a devil. He's an absolute moron.
- 49:59He doesn't know what he's doing. He needs to get.
- 50:01Out. Yeah, he's a puppet master.
- 50:02I need to smack him around. If I was in front of Rob
- 50:05Manford. I heard that Rob Manford's
- 50:07actually a pretty tall guy. He's like 6-2.
- 50:09I give him a nice. I give him a nice knee to the
- 50:11ground and give him a nice knee right into his abdomen.
- 50:14Watch him fly on the ground. Eat that.
- 50:17Give me that little trophy, baby.
- 50:19Sorry. Let's go.
- 50:22All right, you're going to like this one too.
- 50:25I think you're going to really like this one.
- 50:26Q. Can you?
- 50:27Believe. Oh please.
- 50:29What Carmelo Anthony had to say about Nico Harrison deserving
- 50:36credit for Cooper flags. Oh my God.
- 50:40Rookie. Of the year campaign.
- 50:45Is he out of his freaking mind? I agree.
- 50:50Oh my God. So I mean, look, I don't really,
- 50:52there's not much more to say, Melo got on his podcast, was
- 50:57sitting there sipping his red wine, as he tends to do.
- 51:00He needs to sip more of. It outlandish statements and
- 51:05this is what he says and this is reported all over the media,
- 51:09social media, the quote shout out to Nico Harrison, man for
- 51:14seeing this right here for understanding this vision.
- 51:17No matter what happened, how it happened, Dallas got something
- 51:21back. They got the number one pick.
- 51:24You start talking about Cooper ceiling and a young face of the
- 51:26league in the NBA, that's Cooper flay.
- 51:30Can you believe that he's shouting out Nico Harrison for
- 51:35getting lucky and winning the lottery when they had no
- 51:38business of doing so when it was probably had some frozen
- 51:41envelope juju going on because they gave the Lakers Luka Doncic
- 51:46and that for Anthony Davis was the the prize in that deal.
- 51:49If we remember, he gone too. Errol Mellow wiling out.
- 51:54Dial it on. I I'd like to thank the LJA, the
- 51:58LeBron James Association for giving me Cooper flag.
- 52:01Oh boy, that's what I'd be saying.
- 52:03Because there's no way in damn hell that Nico Harrison should
- 52:07get any credit for trading Luka Doncic.
- 52:11That is pathetic. Honestly.
- 52:13The NBA is a joke and and, and Carmelo Anthony is.
- 52:16He'll sell anything. Carmelo Anthony wants to sell
- 52:19ratings. That's what he's doing.
- 52:20He wants to give Nico Harrison who's never going to get AGM job
- 52:23ever again. Nobody's stupid enough will give
- 52:26him the opportunity to run their organization.
- 52:29This guy ruined the Dallas Mavericks.
- 52:31And yes, he got lucky getting Cooper flag, but let's thank
- 52:35LeBron James, let's think a thank Adam Silver.
- 52:38It's pathetic. It really is.
- 52:40Everybody knows the lottery is bullshit.
- 52:42Everybody knows it's crap. And honest to God, Carmelo
- 52:46Anthony coming out and saying that just tells me one thing.
- 52:49Carmelo Anthony doesn't know where the hell he is or what
- 52:51he's doing on his podcast. He really just likes to open his
- 52:54mouth, sip, wait, whatever he said is a windbag that sips wine
- 52:59and thinks that he knows everything about basketball
- 53:01because he's a Hall of Famer and he was a Nick.
- 53:04The guy never won anything. I'm not taking any advice from a
- 53:06guy that really never played in a final, never won anything.
- 53:09Why am I even taking any information from a guy that
- 53:12knows nothing that he thinks he knows honestly?
- 53:15Carmelo Anthony. Carmelo Anthony, he never won
- 53:17anything. Who we talked about, yeah.
- 53:18Carmelo Anthony is a born loser born loser, loser of.
- 53:23Course. Loser.
- 53:24That's what it is. You see how he did this?
- 53:26It's really this. Of all time.
- 53:28Loser El. What are the greatest of?
- 53:30El Loser. Sleepy ladies and gentlemen.
- 53:32He's a loser. That's the loser.
- 53:34He's a loser. No, no, this is it.
- 53:35He always. He did this.
- 53:36He's. Crazy.
- 53:37He did that, did that for the three points.
- 53:39No, I'm doing this. He really?
- 53:41Shot 33% on. L for loser anyways, it is
- 53:45pathetic. There was no luck.
- 53:47The NBA gave him Cooper Flag and and honest to God, a lot of
- 53:51people thought that Cooper Flag might have not or shouldn't have
- 53:54not won the rookie of the year. So I mean, there's a lot of
- 53:59questions to that. I mean, there was a guy over
- 54:01there in Charlotte that had a pretty good season too, if you
- 54:03know what I mean. I I like Cooper Flag.
- 54:06I want Cooper Flag to win. But to say this or even try to
- 54:10pitch this to anybody that watches sports or actually knows
- 54:13what the NBA is doing right now, that is a crock.
- 54:17Look, Carmelo, if you ever came on this show, I would eat you up
- 54:20alive. Eat you up alive.
- 54:23Eat you up alive on this shelf. So, you know, are you kidding?
- 54:27Me. You kidding me?
- 54:28I would eat him up a lot, dude. He wouldn't listen to you.
- 54:31You're a Celtic fan. Carmelo Anthony wouldn't even
- 54:33listen to. You.
- 54:34You're a Celtic. Fan I'm a player, really.
- 54:38Yeah, he wouldn't listen to you. You're a Celtic fan.
- 54:40He would. He hates the.
- 54:41Celtics No, he's he's not. He's not a fanatic to the poor
- 54:46where he can't respect. Somebody on your Celtics called
- 54:49his wife Honey in a Cheerios. He likes Boston, I agree.
- 54:53But listen, Nico definitely deserved the credit.
- 54:56You know, at the end of the day, he did end up getting the
- 54:59lottery pick. He was responsible.
- 55:01He was the GM and for Dallas Mavericks and they did trade
- 55:06Lucas Dodgers for Cooper flag and there's a generation of
- 55:11talent for. No, they traded Luca for a guy
- 55:14that's no longer on the team. They.
- 55:20Did. Not.
- 55:22They got rid of Luca Duchess they get he end up getting the
- 55:25lottery pick which end up being Cooper flag at the end of the
- 55:29day. OK.
- 55:32See, you froze. You know why you froze?
- 55:34I was saying was. Because they know you're not
- 55:36froze. Yeah, you did.
- 55:37You froze. You know why?
- 55:38That's not on my. It's not on my end.
- 55:40Because the gods in the air are telling you you're an idiot.
- 55:43But anyway, I'm talking, all right, No idiots.
- 55:47Nico deserves the print. He deserves some credit, even
- 55:50though everybody thinks it was rigged.
- 55:52Everybody thinks that. It is.
- 55:54The lottery was rigged. It is just.
- 55:56So happened to fall in this lap. It absolutely did.
- 55:59That this type of situation would happen, but at the end of
- 56:01the day it happened in the drafted Cooper flag and you got
- 56:04to give some credit. What credit is due?
- 56:06You give it G so hard. If you give AGM credit for for
- 56:10where your spot is in the lottery, that's not exactly like
- 56:13a presidential thing of this guy is defined as a good GM.
- 56:17Oh, the Sun's got the number one pick.
- 56:19Are we going to say their GM was any good when they got DeAndre
- 56:22Ayton at the time? Do you?
- 56:24Remember, I said give some credit.
- 56:25Do we say give them? Do we pay?
- 56:27About a year award. Do we give them some credit?
- 56:30Do we? Remember of the year for Why
- 56:32does he have a job? He could have won more games, He
- 56:35could have won more games and never even been.
- 56:36Do we remember? Do we?
- 56:39Remember when Nico Harrison came out at the press conference in
- 56:43front of the media and had to make his, I guess, claims to
- 56:48what he was planning to do after trading Luka Doncic?
- 56:50And he had Jason Kidd sitting right next to him and giving him
- 56:53a look like, what are you, an idiot?
- 56:55You traded our best player that took us to the final last year?
- 56:58I, I mean, what a joke. And you're going to sit there
- 57:01and try to sell that Nico Harrison will never get AGM job.
- 57:04He'll never get an executive job, just like Billy King.
- 57:07No, he doesn't. No, he doesn't.
- 57:09They fired him 10 months too late.
- 57:11Don't worry, he's still a mouthy of the year.
- 57:13He's 25. He is Billy King esque.
- 57:16And you know what? You know what Billy King did?
- 57:18Remember what Billy King did? Oh, I remember he made a trade
- 57:21with the Celtics, if you remember that, which gave him, I
- 57:24don't know. Or Jason Tatum.
- 57:26Jaylen Brown. Yeah, exactly.
- 57:29Stupid. Have another GM job stupid.
- 57:31No, we won't. Yeah, I'll put money on.
- 57:32It maybe the Nets will be dumb enough to hire him, but we're
- 57:34we're. We'll cover it in in.
- 57:37No, we won't. I'm never covering Nico.
- 57:38Harrison if we if he does get AGM job will cover again and
- 57:42mocking him the whole time. I will not show up to the show
- 57:44if we cover Nico Harrison. OK?
- 57:46That guy's a moron. I would never cover him just.
- 57:49That guy probably made the worst trade in NBA.
- 57:52History. It is the worst.
- 57:53Trade NBA history and to give him credit for getting like,
- 57:56what should have been the 13th pick, you know, to become the
- 57:59first pick. I don't think he deserves
- 58:01credit. That's like getting, oh, you,
- 58:02you're so great at investing money.
- 58:04How'd you get that money? Oh, I won the lottery.
- 58:06Oh, you're such a genius. You inherited.
- 58:08Money. You're like, yeah.
- 58:09Right, I love that cue's frozen with a smile right now.
- 58:12It's good, right? It is good.
- 58:14It's, you know the gods up, you know, up in the air, it's.
- 58:17Out you pop out and pop back in. If you could hear us, I'm going
- 58:19to pop you out. Leave the screen.
- 58:20Just for a second, there it. Is oh, I did that to it, but he
- 58:25needs to come back in and out. But Stream Yard was going after
- 58:27him for his conspiracy theory. Maybe that's what happened.
- 58:31They stream yard cancelled him for like 5 minutes or so.
- 58:34They. Probably said OK, Q it should be
- 58:36no idiots, not no idol. You know what we're going to do
- 58:39since Q's frozen, we were already planning on this.
- 58:41We're going to bring in our intern Zoot.
- 58:43Zoot is going to be and all our interns, they're almost done
- 58:46with their semester, got another week of shows like.
- 58:49Congratulations to all our interns, all the hard work and
- 58:52dedication that they put in to our back end.
- 58:54It's it's been great and looking forward to seeing you guys grow
- 58:59everywhere you go in your careers.
- 59:01Yeah, so Zoot had a request. You know, I said is there
- 59:04anything you want to do before we were done with the
- 59:06internship? And he said I'd like to get talk
- 59:08about the Kentucky Derby. So I said, fine, let's bring it
- 59:12in. Here's a Kentucky Derby preview
- 59:15featuring our buddies. Zoot.
- 59:17Let me give you a little bit. You got a bunch already from
- 59:20second-half Chaz. He was a little all over the
- 59:23place with the odds. His odds were not the ones I'm
- 59:25looking at. He has three different parlays,
- 59:27or he has a three and A5 horse parlay that.
- 59:29Was no I I'm aware of that, but he said that the guy with the
- 59:33best odds is actually the guy tied for second.
- 59:36Renegade has the best odds despite the fact being on the
- 59:39number one pole post at 4:00 to 1:00.
- 59:42If 4 to 1's the best odds, it's a wide open race obviously.
- 59:45And that's what Chaz was saying. A commandment and further ado
- 59:48Chaz's favorite are tied at six to one.
- 59:51Chief Wallaby, he mentioned as well 8 to 1, the Puma 12:50.
- 59:55So happy in emerging market are the next tied at 15 to 1.
- 1:00:01I got some notes from Zoot, you know, again, the inside post
- 1:00:05hasn't won since 1986. That's the year I was born.
- 1:00:08That's a forever ago. Owned by Mike Ripoli Owned by
- 1:00:12Mike Ripoli, St. John's alum or been an investor
- 1:00:16in the UFL. He's never had a winner.
- 1:00:18And the jock? You're just rude.
- 1:00:21You don't like jockeys. Why do you have to be mean to
- 1:00:23the jockeys? Jackalack.
- 1:00:28They're already so little. Monstrous.
- 1:00:34Come on, fish that one. I guess so.
- 1:00:36You make an excellent point. Errol, the jockey is Junior,
- 1:00:42arguably the best jockey in the country who has not won the
- 1:00:46Kentucky Derby. The other one that you should
- 1:00:48know about is the Puma lost to Commandment by a nose in the
- 1:00:51Florida Derby, and it looks like that might be the horse of
- 1:00:55Travis Kelsey and Taylor Swift. Stay away from that horse.
- 1:00:59Stay away from that horse. Stay far away from that horse.
- 1:01:03We've heard a lot about the Derby.
- 1:01:05I got to hear your take. All right, so I'm not a Derby
- 1:01:10fan, but I like the name Chief Wallaby.
- 1:01:13That's a cool name. I'm going to go with the Chief
- 1:01:15Wallaby this year, 8 to one favorite.
- 1:01:18I wear a lot of Pumas, so I'm going to go with Puma in seconds
- 1:01:22and then I'll go Renegade because I like to Renegade every
- 1:01:26night, ladies and gentlemen. So I'm going to go Chief
- 1:01:30Wallaby, the Puma and Renegade as my 123 just because I can't.
- 1:01:37That's three great choices. Those are three of the best
- 1:01:40horses in the field. It's definitely one of the more
- 1:01:42wide open derbies in the last few years.
- 1:01:46Just the fact that in the morning line Renegade was 4 to
- 1:01:50one favorite. Right now in the betting,
- 1:01:52Renegade still the favorite, but it's 5 to 1.
- 1:01:54It's just it's going to be anybodies Derby.
- 1:01:57But I think the biggest story of the Derby this year is with
- 1:02:01Renegade Mike Ripoli. He is.
- 1:02:04I don't know if you know about Ripoli, but he.
- 1:02:06Is I do actually. He he loves to talk.
- 1:02:09He loves to talk crap about his horses, just about whatever he
- 1:02:14can. He, he wants to be the
- 1:02:16commissioner of horse racing. He's always tweeting, talking
- 1:02:20crap to other owners and he's great for the game.
- 1:02:23He's so much fun to listen to. He's had some great horses over
- 1:02:28the years and yet he's never been able to win a Derby.
- 1:02:31And he's got a pretty good chance this year with Renegade.
- 1:02:35But then he drew the one post on the inside, which like you said,
- 1:02:39hasn't had a winner since 86. But I'm telling you, if Renegade
- 1:02:43wins the Derby this year, that post race interview with
- 1:02:47Micropoli on NBC is going to be must watch television.
- 1:02:51He's going to go off on everybody who said he never had
- 1:02:53a chance, who said his horses stink.
- 1:02:56He's going to go off. I, I, I want Renegade to win
- 1:02:59just because I want to see that my top pick for the Derby.
- 1:03:02I like commandment. He's won four races in a row.
- 1:03:06He's beaten some of the other top horses.
- 1:03:08He beat Chief Wallaby, he beat the Puma.
- 1:03:10Those two horses just look really good.
- 1:03:13They've ran some big races as well, and Commandment is also
- 1:03:18one at Churchill Downs where the Derby is run.
- 1:03:20So you know he's going to take to the ground because each each
- 1:03:23track is a little bit different. So when you win at Churchill
- 1:03:26Downs, you know they're going to like that, that ground.
- 1:03:28He's just so consistent. He battles on.
- 1:03:32He doesn't win big like some of the other horses like Further
- 1:03:35Ado, who Chaz mentioned earlier. He has the fastest race, the
- 1:03:39biggest number. Yeah, he, he, he won by like 11
- 1:03:44lengths in his last race, which is huge.
- 1:03:47But Commandment doesn't have that.
- 1:03:49But he's going to grind, he's going to battle.
- 1:03:51That's why I like him. Wow.
- 1:03:53I like the Chief Wallaby because it's a cool name and I like, I
- 1:03:57like being chief. I like being the chief.
- 1:03:59So I think. That was going to go.
- 1:04:00I'm going to go. Wallaby going to do that for me.
- 1:04:03Speedy Wallaby Wallaby, Wallaby Wallaby.
- 1:04:06I think that was the one Chaz's friend had.
- 1:04:08It was one of the five that cluster.
- 1:04:10Speedy, if Chief Wallaby, if Chief Wallaby wins, I want you
- 1:04:14to go. Go ahead, Wallaby.
- 1:04:17Yeah. Like wee like there we.
- 1:04:20There we go. I like that, yeah.
- 1:04:23Let's go. We got one left, boys, and this
- 1:04:26one is related to the New York Football Giants.
- 1:04:30Of course. So you may have heard Colin
- 1:04:35Coward make some comments about the Giants offensive line about
- 1:04:4010 days ago. After the draft he made some
- 1:04:43more comments about how, you know, they just are kind of
- 1:04:49mediocre in the trenches, need to go build up the trenches.
- 1:04:53Insulted Jermaine Illuminor saying he was a journeyman
- 1:04:58offensive lineman. So this was on for Tony.
- 1:05:01Called him that. He said he was overpaid after he
- 1:05:04got a three-year $39 million contract this offseason.
- 1:05:07Illuminor responded saying he has no clue what he's talking
- 1:05:10about, that he earned every damn petty.
- 1:05:12He was one of the best right tackles in the league last year
- 1:05:15according to PFF. Had a 76 seven pass blocking
- 1:05:18grade as evidence to dispute that.
- 1:05:21Anyway, it continued. Colin Cowherd, as you can
- 1:05:25probably expect, double down on it after the Giants draft saying
- 1:05:28that they did a good job because they needed to address the
- 1:05:32trenches. Illuminor basically went back in
- 1:05:35the same way that people go back at Steven Naismith, saying he's
- 1:05:38doing it for the clicks and that he has no idea what he's talking
- 1:05:42about. Errol, I think you lay somewhere
- 1:05:45in between where I feel and Colin Cowherd feels about this
- 1:05:49one, but I'm curious to hear it. Dial it up.
- 1:05:53First of all, I I would agree what you mean Illuminor.
- 1:05:56It's all about clicks with this guy.
- 1:05:58I I like Colin Cowherd but he has said some stupid, dumb
- 1:06:02things for many, many years and the one thing I could say he was
- 1:06:06right was Sam Donald will win a Super Bowl.
- 1:06:08But besides that, he has been wrong and everything that's come
- 1:06:12out of that guy's mouth. I think Jemaine Aluminor hat was
- 1:06:15one of the best right tackles in the league last year, especially
- 1:06:18when Thomas came back. There's no question and I
- 1:06:21wouldn't attack Jemaine Aluminor unless I know how to protect
- 1:06:24myself and Colin Coward is a little bitch and people just
- 1:06:27smack him silly. I'd stay away from any of the
- 1:06:31giant game. Stay away from Jemaine Aluminor
- 1:06:33because if he if he shows his face at any one of those games,
- 1:06:37he's going to drop the hammer on him.
- 1:06:39Honestly, the Giants are going to be a good offensive line.
- 1:06:42They added, they added to that offensive line, they added to
- 1:06:45the beef. I think they're going to be very
- 1:06:47good this year. The question is who's running
- 1:06:49the ball and who's catching the ball?
- 1:06:51Only time will tell when it comes to that.
- 1:06:53Is Jackson Dark going to hold the ball too long or he's going
- 1:06:56to run outside of the pocket and get killed?
- 1:06:58That's not the offensive line's fault.
- 1:07:00That's because there's no playmakers on the football
- 1:07:02field. And Malik Neighbors, when he
- 1:07:04does come back, is he going to be the same Malik Neighbors?
- 1:07:06That's the problem. It's not the offensive line.
- 1:07:08I think the offensive line is proven.
- 1:07:10If Thomas is healthy, they can play at a high level.
- 1:07:13I I'm somewhere in between on this because I don't think that
- 1:07:17Thomas is the only reason why they can be good.
- 1:07:20I think Mal Noah going there is going to be a big deal going
- 1:07:22forwards in the future, but it's more about just having a unit
- 1:07:26that works well together. Look at Illuminor stats last
- 1:07:28year. Howard's not wrong.
- 1:07:30He was an average overall tackle because in the run game he
- 1:07:34wasn't much, but he also had nobody at guard playing next to
- 1:07:38him to double team with him in the run game on these three
- 1:07:40techniques, so they weren't going to be good.
- 1:07:43So it's hard to look at those stats because overall he was
- 1:07:46ranked 54th out of 89 tackles, like a round average.
- 1:07:50But if you look at the pass pro, which is really what you need
- 1:07:53the tackles need to do, that's the most important thing.
- 1:07:56He was 20th in the NFL, which means he's a well above average
- 1:08:00pass protector. And if he put a real good guard
- 1:08:03next to him like they just did with Mount Noah, I bet he's
- 1:08:06above average there, too. So when you draft somebody in
- 1:08:10the trenches, it's not because you have a journeyman, which is
- 1:08:13not true. He was only with the Raiders
- 1:08:15before this and he got a contract with the Giants and
- 1:08:17then he proved that he deserved another contract.
- 1:08:18He's getting 13 million a season.
- 1:08:20That's an average to above average player at that position.
- 1:08:23It's not a star player, but it's a good player to have.
- 1:08:26And if you put a potential star next to him, now you got a guy
- 1:08:29that can make the Pro Bowl. And that's what Cowher doesn't
- 1:08:32understand. But I think you're right.
- 1:08:34That guy couldn't care less to understand the nuances of this
- 1:08:37game. He just wants to get the shock
- 1:08:38reaction and Illuminor bit into it.
- 1:08:40Maybe it helps Illuminor in the future with his media stuff, but
- 1:08:43it certainly helped Cowher the same way it always does.
- 1:08:46But he's wrong, like he always is, and that has been dial it
- 1:08:51up. Thank you to all the fans on all
- 1:08:53the platforms, especially every fan on Spotify and Apple video
- 1:08:57and audio. There it is.
