Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: It's your early morning praise party. I am Sherry Mackie,
- 0:04Speaker 1: and it's time right now for today's word. When God
- 0:09Speaker 1: puts it out for good Isaiah forty three seventeen through nineteen,
- 0:16Speaker 1: it says the God who summons horses and chariots and armies,
- 0:20Speaker 1: they lie down and then can't get up. They're snuffed
- 0:24Speaker 1: out like so many candles. Forget about what's happened. Don't
- 0:29Speaker 1: keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I'm
- 0:34Speaker 1: about to do something brand new. You said, share it
- 0:37Speaker 1: as in the Bible. Is sure is Isaiah forty three
- 0:39Speaker 1: seventeen through nineteen. In the message translation, you know, when
- 0:43Speaker 1: God led the Israelites out of Egypt, he didn't just
- 0:46Speaker 1: bring them out of bondage. He made sure their pass
- 0:49Speaker 1: could never come up against them again. Pharaoh's army chased
- 0:55Speaker 1: them to the edge of the Red Sea, but God
- 0:58Speaker 1: opened the path through the water. When his people crossed safely,
- 1:03Speaker 1: he closed the sea and immediately took his enemy out.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Their enemies were gone like candles in the night. If
- 1:12Speaker 1: God had only brought them out, they would have always
- 1:15Speaker 1: lived looking over their shoulder, wondering if Pharaoh might return,
- 1:19Speaker 1: if the sound of hoofs would once again echo in
- 1:22Speaker 1: the distance. But God, in his mercy, didn't leave any
- 1:26Speaker 1: room for fear. He dealt with the enemy completely. He
- 1:30Speaker 1: drowned the enemies once and for all, the enemies that
- 1:36Speaker 1: once held them captive, and silenced every threat that dared
- 1:40Speaker 1: to chase them. Well, maybe today you're living with a
- 1:44Speaker 1: similar sense of lingering anxiety. The memory of your past,
- 1:49Speaker 1: the mistakes you made, the people who hurt you, they
- 1:52Speaker 1: whisper that there still had power over you. You wonder if
- 1:58Speaker 1: your failures will come back to haunt you, or if
- 2:01Speaker 1: the guilt and the shame will ever fully go away.
- 2:04Speaker 1: But hear this today, hear me, God has already handled
- 2:09Speaker 1: what's behind you. What try to destroy you has been
- 2:13Speaker 1: permanently snuffed out by God's grace. The same God who
- 2:19Speaker 1: silence Pharaoh's army has silenced every voice of accusation against you.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Through Jesus Christ, your past has been washed away. The guilt,
- 2:29Speaker 1: the shame, the regret. It's all drowned beneath the flood
- 2:32Speaker 1: of His mercy. You don't have to live afraid or
- 2:35Speaker 1: keep revisiting what God is already buried. He didn't just
- 2:39Speaker 1: bring you through the difficulty. He's freed you from it completely.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Now God is saying to you, forget about what's happened,
- 2:48Speaker 1: be alert, be present. I'm about to do something brand new.
- 2:52Speaker 1: The Red Sea moments in your life weren't just about escape.
- 2:55Speaker 1: They were about entrance, interests into something greater. So stop
- 3:00Speaker 1: the passes, start preparing for the promise. When God snuffed
- 3:03Speaker 1: something out, it stays out. He's cleared the path for
- 3:08Speaker 1: you to walk forward without fear, full of peace, full
- 3:11Speaker 1: of hope, and full of holy expectation. Father, Thank you,
- 3:17Speaker 1: Thank you that the power of Jesus's blood has put
- 3:21Speaker 1: an end to everything that once held us captive. Thank
- 3:24Speaker 1: you for drowning our guilt, for drowning our shame, for
- 3:28Speaker 1: drowning our regrets, and for giving us brand new starts.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Help us God, to walk forward in freedom and confidence,
- 3:36Speaker 1: trusting that what you've snuffed out can never rise again.
- 3:41Speaker 1: In Jesus' name. Now that's your word for today. Oh
- 3:44Speaker 1: take it applied to your everyday life. In you, Katie,
- 3:46Speaker 1: to be encouraged and inspired with me, your girl, Cherie Mackie.
- 3:50Speaker 1: It's your early morning praise party.
