- 0:01Speaker 1: We normally bring you the popcorn moment right now, brought
- 0:04Speaker 1: to you by Boer Remodeling, B-O-O-H-E-R, boerremodeling.com, 317-852-5546. I will
- 0:12Speaker 1: tell you all about Boer, your kitchens, your bathrooms, your basements,
- 0:15Speaker 1: wherever it is you're trying to make a new home
- 0:18Speaker 1: renovation project happen and get it done right the first time.
- 0:21Speaker 1: It's Boer, B-O-O-H-E-R, boerremodeling.com. They bring you the popcorn moment.
- 0:28Speaker 1: ICE operations have taken place in Indianapolis. And some people
- 0:33Speaker 1: still can't accept the idea that there are people in
- 0:36Speaker 1: the country illegally and they need to be removed from
- 0:38Speaker 1: the country. They want to be angry and they want
- 0:42Speaker 1: to now go to where ICE agents are staying in
- 0:44Speaker 1: hotels and scream and yell and out them and. They
- 0:49Speaker 1: want to shoot at ICE agents. I'm not arguing that
- 0:52Speaker 1: we can't talk about policies for ICE. But if we're
- 0:55Speaker 1: going to discuss whether or not people in the country
- 0:57Speaker 1: illegally should be removed, well, that's a strange thing to be. well,
- 1:03Speaker 1: arguing against. Lauren Biss joins me right now. She's a
- 1:06Speaker 1: senior White House deputy press secretary. I appreciate you taking
- 1:10Speaker 1: the time to be here. There was this post in
- 1:13Speaker 1: the Washington Post and a story in the Washington Post
- 1:16Speaker 1: about what's been going on in Indiana. This is just
- 1:20Speaker 1: one of many stories, not specific to Indiana, about ISIS movements.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Has the White House been hearing about what has taken
- 1:27Speaker 1: place here from either angry residents or appreciative residents?
- 1:33Speaker 2: You know, we've only heard good news from everyday Americans
- 1:37Speaker 2: about our ICE operations. You know, over 400 illegal aliens
- 1:40Speaker 2: were arrested, many with criminal histories, including sex offenders, drug traffickers, burglars, violent,
- 1:49Speaker 2: other violent offenders, in less than a week. It was
- 1:51Speaker 2: a huge success, and we will keep up with all
- 1:55Speaker 2: of these operations across the country to make Americans safe again.
- 1:58Speaker 2: It's what the Americans voted for, and we're going to
- 2:00Speaker 2: keep delivering.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Everyone always mentions, Lauren, talking to Lauren Biss, senior White
- 2:06Speaker 1: House deputy press secretary, this idea of violent offenders. And
- 2:10Speaker 1: then they'll get into this number of people did not
- 2:13Speaker 1: commit violent crimes. As you understand it and the conversations
- 2:18Speaker 1: about ICE, is it about violent offense or not violent offense?
- 2:22Speaker 1: Or is it about whether or not you're in the
- 2:24Speaker 1: country legally?
- 2:26Speaker 2: Look, it is a crime to illegally enter the United States.
- 2:30Speaker 2: There's no doubt about that. We are targeting all illegal aliens,
- 2:34Speaker 2: but we are starting to focus primarily on criminal offenders.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Just to highlight the worst of the worst first, but
- 2:42Speaker 2: no one is off the table. If you're in the
- 2:43Speaker 2: country illegally, you need to leave now. If you don't,
- 2:46Speaker 2: we will find you, we will arrest you, and you
- 2:49Speaker 2: will be deported with the opportunity to never return to
- 2:52Speaker 2: the United States.
- 2:56Speaker 1: You're not getting an argument from me on the need
- 2:59Speaker 1: and necessity for this, but we have, as we have seen,
- 3:04Speaker 1: Representative Salazar deciding to come out with this very large statement,
- 3:09Speaker 1: all politics being local. Maybe it is indeed a tight
- 3:11Speaker 1: race there in southern Florida. But we hear top line
- 3:16Speaker 1: through media, the anger and the upset, and America doesn't
- 3:21Speaker 1: want this. But then there is the.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Which we're seeing lower crime rates across the country. Does
- 3:29Speaker 1: the White House make claim that their moves via ICE
- 3:33Speaker 1: and deportations have led to safer streets in cities from
- 3:38Speaker 1: coast to coast?
- 3:39Speaker 3: No.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, President Trump has delivered Americans the largest
- 3:44Speaker 2: decrease in violent crime in American history. It is no
- 3:48Speaker 2: coincidence that that is happening. As we are arresting and
- 3:51Speaker 2: removing over a million illegal aliens, many criminals from the
- 3:55Speaker 2: communities that were let in by Joe Biden. Don't forget,
- 3:58Speaker 2: the Democrats want open borders. They want to abolish your prisons.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Their soft-on crime policies led to a crime crisis in
- 4:04Speaker 2: this country that President Trump has reversed and had huge
- 4:07Speaker 2: success to deliver safer communities and neighborhoods. for American citizens.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Is this a topic for the midterms? You know, everything
- 4:16Speaker 1: is a midterm conversation. Everything is how tight this is.
- 4:21Speaker 1: If you believe polling, the Senate can stay in Republican hands.
- 4:24Speaker 1: The House might be a loss. I don't actually see
- 4:27Speaker 1: it that way. But as you see it, as you're
- 4:31Speaker 1: engaged in the communication, talking to Lauren Biss, B-I-S, she
- 4:35Speaker 1: is the senior White House deputy press secretary. Where does
- 4:39Speaker 1: the border and these ICE operations fit in White House
- 4:44Speaker 1: messaging about the midterms?
- 4:46Speaker 2: Look, our message to Americans is simple. President Trump and
- 4:50Speaker 2: Republicans are for common sense. Radical Democrats have extreme policies
- 4:54Speaker 2: that they want to put on your communities. We're talking
- 4:56Speaker 2: about socialism. We're talking about abolishing your prisons. We're talking
- 5:00Speaker 2: about free health care for illegal aliens. These are the
- 5:03Speaker 2: type of things they stand for. What we stand for
- 5:05Speaker 2: is common sense policies, and these are the same policies
- 5:08Speaker 2: President Trump ran on and won in 2024, and we're
- 5:12Speaker 2: going to keep delivering that same message to the American people.
- 5:16Speaker 2: We're the party of common sense, while the Democrats have
- 5:20Speaker 2: become an extremely far-left radical party.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Is there ever, just to go along with the thoughts
- 5:28Speaker 1: of the narrative, is there ever a conversation— Within the
- 5:32Speaker 1: White House, amongst Tom Homan or others. I mean, if
- 5:36Speaker 1: you want to give me personal details, I'm listening, Lauren.
- 5:39Speaker 1: But is there ever a conversation regarding tactics? I don't
- 5:44Speaker 1: even say I disagree with them. Is there ever a
- 5:47Speaker 1: conversation of if we did this, we would get a
- 5:50Speaker 1: better result with the American people on that? Or is
- 5:54Speaker 1: there a dismissal of the idea that the tactic is
- 5:57Speaker 1: the issue and it is a media generated story?
- 6:02Speaker 2: Look, it's clearly a media generated story. Our law enforcement
- 6:05Speaker 2: officers are highly trained. We don't let far left radicals
- 6:09Speaker 2: or the media control how our officers operate. Their safety
- 6:13Speaker 2: comes first. They are simply just enforcing our nation's laws.
- 6:17Speaker 2: They are enforcing the laws passed by Congress. They're going
- 6:20Speaker 2: to continue to do that. And, you know, unfortunately, it's
- 6:23Speaker 2: clear that radical Democrats in Congress and many in the
- 6:25Speaker 2: media will continue to smear our law enforcement. And because
- 6:28Speaker 2: of these smears, our officers are facing a more than
- 6:31Speaker 2: 1300 percent increase in assaults against them and an 8000
- 6:35Speaker 2: percent increase in death threats.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Here in Indianapolis, the mayor, Joe Hogsett, discusses that this
- 6:44Speaker 1: is a city that prides itself on being welcoming. You
- 6:49Speaker 1: have a quote out of The Washington Post from Elisa Koop,
- 6:52Speaker 1: Indiana-based director of legal services at the National Immigrant Justice Center,
- 6:56Speaker 1: saying this is what it looks like when ICE has
- 6:58Speaker 1: a blank check to do enforcement. Are these kinds of statements,
- 7:05Speaker 1: how does the White House respond to this idea that
- 7:09Speaker 1: somehow they are opposed to these cities? They're opposed to
- 7:16Speaker 1: the idea that, you know, the argument is you're devastating
- 7:19Speaker 1: cities and your argument is we're making cities safer. What
- 7:23Speaker 1: is what is the response to them? Is there ever
- 7:25Speaker 1: any response to them?
- 7:28Speaker 2: Look, Democrats show us time and time again who they are.
- 7:30Speaker 2: They always choose to side with illegal aliens over American citizens.
- 7:35Speaker 2: President Trump will never do that. He is going to
- 7:37Speaker 2: continue to enforce the laws passed by Congress. When she
- 7:40Speaker 2: says blank enforcement, yeah, we have the right to enforce
- 7:43Speaker 2: our nation's laws. And unlike Joe Biden, we're going to
- 7:46Speaker 2: do that. We're not going to allow criminals to flood
- 7:48Speaker 2: into our communities. We've sealed the border. We've had six
- 7:51Speaker 2: 16 straight months of zero releases at the border. We
- 7:55Speaker 2: enforce our nation's laws. President Trump is a law and
- 7:59Speaker 2: order president. And we're seeing the results, like I said earlier,
- 8:02Speaker 2: the largest decrease in violent crime in American history. His
- 8:05Speaker 2: policies are working. They're delivering results. I don't know why
- 8:09Speaker 2: Democrats continue to smear them when the results just speak
- 8:13Speaker 2: for themselves.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Are you done in Indiana? Will we see more ICE
- 8:17Speaker 1: action in Indiana?
- 8:19Speaker 2: Look, we're active in Indiana and everywhere across the United
- 8:23Speaker 2: States every single day. So you have not seen the
- 8:26Speaker 2: last of us. They are there every day and they
- 8:29Speaker 2: will continue to be there and making your community and
- 8:31Speaker 2: your city safer.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Was the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, as you know it,
- 8:37Speaker 1: were they supportive? Were they helpful? Were they obstructive? Was
- 8:41Speaker 1: the mayor, Joe Hogg, said obstructive?
- 8:44Speaker 2: You know, I can't speak directly for how the law
- 8:47Speaker 2: enforcement coordinated on this operation. But I can tell you
- 8:51Speaker 2: in cities where we do a cooperation, those seven of
- 8:54Speaker 2: the 10 safest cities in America cooperate with ICE. That's
- 8:57Speaker 2: no coincidence. Sanctuary policies that release criminal legal aliens that
- 9:02Speaker 2: are arrested from jail back onto the streets make America
- 9:06Speaker 2: less safe. It's common sense. We have to put a
- 9:08Speaker 2: stop to these sanctuary policies for not only the safety
- 9:12Speaker 2: of the public, but also for the safety of our
- 9:14Speaker 2: law enforcement officers.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Lauren Biss, senior White House deputy press secretary. Before I
- 9:18Speaker 1: let you go, Caroline Leavitt leaves the position. Are you
- 9:22Speaker 1: here to announce that I am the new White House
- 9:24Speaker 1: press secretary?
- 9:25Speaker 3: You know what?
- 9:26Speaker 2: I'll have you tune in for President Trump for a truth.
- 9:28Speaker 2: I'm sure if that's the case, he'll be announcing it shortly.
- 9:31Speaker 1: I look forward. I look forward to the announcement. If
- 9:33Speaker 1: he could just get on that already, that would be great.
- 9:35Speaker 1: If you could let him know I said so. Also great.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Why not? Lauren Biss, I appreciate you taking the time.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Senior White House Deputy Press Secretary, thank you. Paul Bodenloss,
