- 0:56Speaker 2: here with a little abbreviated section. We have got college
- 1:00Speaker 2: basketball from Westwood One tonight, beginning at five forty five,
- 1:05Speaker 2: we are play paying extreme close attention to the quarterfinal
- 1:11Speaker 2: match between the us Men and Sweden in hockey. The
- 1:15Speaker 2: winner advances to the semifinals. If US wins, he'll play Slovakia.
- 1:20Speaker 2: They got a goal midway through the second period what
- 1:23Speaker 2: has been a tense, tight, well played hockey game. Sweden's
- 1:29Speaker 2: on the power play right now. It has won nothing
- 1:32Speaker 2: US with seventeen minutes left.
- 1:35Speaker 1: In the game.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Earlier, Canada barely survived Chechia. They were down by a
- 1:42Speaker 2: goal with three minutes to play. They got the time
- 1:45Speaker 2: goal and then they got the winning goal in overtime.
- 1:50Speaker 2: The Hosers advanced to the semifinals, and again, if the
- 1:55Speaker 2: US wins, it's set up for US and Canada play
- 2:00Speaker 2: for the gold medal game.
- 2:01Speaker 1: If both of those can't get that.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Far, we have Aggie basketball tonight six o'clock rit Arena.
- 2:11Speaker 4: Ole.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Miss comes in with a seven game losing streak. A

- 2:41Speaker 1: All American JT.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Toppin tore his ACL he is out for the rest
- 2:47Speaker 2: of the season. That takes away an All American from
- 2:50Speaker 2: the Red Raiders in any shot they had to advance
- 2:54Speaker 2: deep into postseason. That came during an overtime upset loss
- 3:00Speaker 2: at Arizona State. Actually it wasn't overtime, an upset loss
- 3:04Speaker 2: seventy two sixty seven. Again the Red Raiders without their
- 3:10Speaker 2: leading score and player elsewhere in the SEC. Tonight, Oklahoma
- 3:18Speaker 2: is at Tennessee. Arkansas and Alabama is the premier game
- 3:23Speaker 2: tonight on ESPN. Auburn at Mississippi State. Vanderbilt is at Missouri.

- 3:47Speaker 2: I think Illinois and USC and the Zags are in
- 3:51Speaker 2: San Francisco this evening. The Aggie baseball team got three
- 3:57Speaker 2: home runs from three freshman last night. They won eight
- 4:03Speaker 2: to three over A and M.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Corpus.
- 4:07Speaker 2: The Aggie's improved to four and OH. They will host
- 4:11Speaker 2: penn for three games this weekend, beginning Friday evening. They
- 4:17Speaker 2: will play at six o'clock Friday, They'll play at two
- 4:21Speaker 2: o'clock Saturday. They'll play at one o'clock on Sunday, and again.

- 4:46Speaker 2: this evening.
- 4:47Speaker 1: That's other.
- 4:50Speaker 2: SEC baseball teams in progress. Fourteen minutes, twenty four seconds
- 4:58Speaker 2: left in the third period, the US has survived a
- 5:01Speaker 2: power play. They lead Sweden one to nothing, and Mikayla
- 5:08Speaker 2: Shifferent's long nightmare is over. She won a gold medal
- 5:13Speaker 2: today in the women's slalom. She had been the best
- 5:20Speaker 2: skier in the world but had not had good luck
- 5:24Speaker 2: in Olympic competition. But today she won the gold medal.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Spoiler alert, I'm supposed to say that before I tell
- 5:35Speaker 2: you that, right. You can watch it tonight on NBC.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Let's see tomorrow. We have got another short show tomorrow.
- 5:46Speaker 2: We're off at five point fifteen tomorrow for women's basketball purposes,
- 5:51Speaker 2: we have a short Clark Eisenhower outdoor edition. We will
- 5:56Speaker 2: have a high school report. We will have postgame on
- 6:00Speaker 2: Tonight's A and m Ole Miss basketball GAMEE. So we
- 6:05Speaker 2: got that going on for us, which is nice. Normally
- 6:09Speaker 2: we would have Steve Denton on. We try to connect.
- 6:15Speaker 2: He is traveling today back to college station, so we
- 6:21Speaker 2: will have him on hopefully next Wednesday and most Wednesdays
- 6:27Speaker 2: during the spring season. All right, we'll take a break,

- 7:37Speaker 1: If you miss tech Sacs Live, you miss.
- 7:39Speaker 7: Sharene Williams from Pro Football Talker, dear friend An m
- 7:43Speaker 7: R and Hall of Famer An m R. That's a
- 7:45Speaker 7: new one.
- 7:46Speaker 8: Have I used that one before?
- 7:47Speaker 9: I haven't heard it? Yeah, it applies.
- 7:49Speaker 7: Hey, Sharen, good morning, Good morning.
- 7:52Speaker 10: Kind of like that A and m R. Kind of
- 7:54Speaker 10: hard I like it.
- 7:57Speaker 7: Mike Vaughan and Miles are they first ballot Hall of Famer?
- 8:00Speaker 7: I know wide receivers sometimes have to wait a little bit.
- 8:02Speaker 7: Do you think Mike's the first ballot Hall of Famer?
- 8:05Speaker 10: That's a tough one. You know, they made receivers wait.
- 8:08Speaker 10: And my guess is that he's not going to get
- 8:11Speaker 10: in on first ballot. And we don't know how much
- 8:14Speaker 10: longer he's gonna play or how much more he's gonna do,
- 8:17Speaker 10: But my guess is that he's gonna have to wait
- 8:20Speaker 10: like Michael Irving was the third ballot, you know, Hall
- 8:22Speaker 10: of Famer, and so I you know, my guess is
- 8:26Speaker 10: he's gonna have to wait, just the way that we
- 8:28Speaker 10: have treated first ballot guys.
- 8:30Speaker 6: That Texacs Live.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Brought to you by David Gardner's Jewelers hang out weekdays
- 8:34Speaker 2: from eight to eleven on the Zone.
- 8:43Speaker 11: I'm leave all tree. We all took the rest, but
- 8:55Speaker 11: he wanted me. I'm leaning fall the tree.
- 9:06Speaker 9: When the autumn wind blows from.
- 9:10Speaker 11: They're already gone.
- 9:13Speaker 12: They fluttered to the ground. They just can't.
- 9:20Speaker 9: And there's nothing happen in this world that I ain't seeing.
- 9:28Speaker 12: I greet all the new ones that.
- 9:30Speaker 11: Are coming and green. I'm alive, clean, fall on the trees.
- 9:42Speaker 11: The aut of them took the rest.
- 9:45Speaker 9: But they walled me.
- 9:49Speaker 11: Live lean fall the trees.
- 9:56Speaker 9: Let's say, I gotta Steve Howur.
- 10:00Speaker 8: Hmm here on.
- 10:01Speaker 1: A tree, but I've been here since Eisenhower and I've out.
- 10:07Speaker 9: Little even He's.
- 10:12Speaker 11: Leave on the tree. They took the wrist, but they
- 10:21Speaker 11: wanted me leave tree.
- 10:30Speaker 13: That's Willie and Uh, a poignant song to one of
- 10:36Speaker 13: his last albums, The Last Leaf on the Tree.
- 10:41Speaker 1: He's actually added that.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Or did add that to some of his shows in
- 10:48Speaker 2: the last couple of years. He is not touring right now.
- 10:56Speaker 2: We don't know if he's going to be touring again.
- 11:02Speaker 2: There has been nothing announced, nothing said. Normally by this
- 11:08Speaker 2: time he would have quite a few gigs already in
- 11:14Speaker 2: the works. I think he's been over at his house
- 11:18Speaker 2: in Hawaii laying low, and maybe he and his family decided,
- 11:26Speaker 2: you know, Willie, you're ninety two, about to be ninety three,
- 11:31Speaker 2: why don't you stay here by the beach and hang out.
- 11:35Speaker 2: We'll see. I do expect him maybe to do some
- 11:40Speaker 2: special things as guests or we'll see, but there hasn't
- 11:48Speaker 2: been anything formal announced. It's just it's very interesting, all right.
- 11:57Speaker 2: Ten fifty left in regulation. The US has survived another
- 12:04Speaker 2: power play and they still remain up one goal to
- 12:10Speaker 2: nothing over Sweden. They are trying to get to the semifinals,
- 12:15Speaker 2: where they would play Slovakia for the chance to play
- 12:21Speaker 2: in the.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Gold medal game. There's a lot of work left to do.
- 12:26Speaker 2: As we mentioned earlier, the Aggie basketball team is trying
- 12:30Speaker 2: to stop a four game losing streak and they need
- 12:34Speaker 2: to do that tonight. They need to start a winning
- 12:39Speaker 2: streak tonight they host ole Miss, a team that is
- 12:45Speaker 2: number ninety two in the NET. They have lost their
- 12:49Speaker 2: last seven games. They are three to nine in the
- 12:54Speaker 2: league under Chris Beard and haven't been real good frankly
- 12:59Speaker 2: most of the year.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Rashwan Ag coming off, you know, he spoiled us.
- 13:07Speaker 2: He had eleven rebounds, but he only had eight points
- 13:10Speaker 2: in the game against Vanderbilt, and Bucky told his radio
- 13:18Speaker 2: audience and restaurant audience Monday night Ag was gassed, which
- 13:23Speaker 2: we had talked about on the Writer's roundtable on Monday.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Here is Rashaan Ag.
- 13:31Speaker 14: What what what do you think y'all have to do
- 13:33Speaker 14: specifically to to uh, you.
- 13:36Speaker 4: Know, get back to the win, get back to the
- 13:39Speaker 4: civil things, understanding what we do best, going back to
- 13:45Speaker 4: who he was to start SEC playoffs and just like
- 13:48Speaker 4: you know, starting starting from day one again basically and
- 13:51Speaker 4: figuring everything out day by day.
- 13:54Speaker 8: Is this a must win? Absolutely?
- 13:56Speaker 4: I mean I feel like every game is a must
- 13:58Speaker 4: win at this point, no matter if you lose one
- 14:00Speaker 4: game or two games or right now we are at
- 14:03Speaker 4: four and every game is a must win.
- 14:04Speaker 8: And right now our focus on is on this game.
- 14:10Speaker 15: How much of a maybe physical told that five game
- 14:13Speaker 15: stretch take on you guys and just maybe some of
- 14:15Speaker 15: the things y'all are trying to do to you know,
- 14:18Speaker 15: stay fresh and not be too fatigued.
- 14:22Speaker 4: I would say, just continue to get in, get in
- 14:24Speaker 4: with recovery, with our trainer, making sure you take care
- 14:27Speaker 4: of your body, making sure you eat. I mean, the
- 14:30Speaker 4: way we play, of course is always an adjustment to
- 14:32Speaker 4: your body and your mental, your physical. But man, just
- 14:37Speaker 4: you know, going in taking care of your body and
- 14:38Speaker 4: making sure you get your rest in.
- 14:40Speaker 16: So we talked about how yesterday I'll didn't do anything
- 14:43Speaker 16: on the court, and then today it was a quicker
- 14:45Speaker 16: practice session. Did you feel fresher within that forty five
- 14:49Speaker 16: minutes to an hour that you'll have today?
- 14:51Speaker 4: Absolutely, And I feel like we competed well today and
- 14:53Speaker 4: we and our communication was way better and I feel
- 14:56Speaker 4: like our defense picked up today.
- 14:59Speaker 15: What a what was it like in the part of
- 15:01Speaker 15: the special jersey reveal.
- 15:04Speaker 8: And what do you think of him? I mean, I
- 15:07Speaker 8: enjoyed it. I actually like the jerseys, you know.
- 15:10Speaker 4: I wanted a little different vibe, something different to be
- 15:14Speaker 4: looking forward to the playing the game. It's always great
- 15:16Speaker 4: to do and of course were thankful for you know
- 15:19Speaker 4: who we're doing it for.
- 15:21Speaker 17: Does the sword come with the jersey?
- 15:23Speaker 8: Are they going to let you play with that?
- 15:25Speaker 1: Uh?
- 15:25Speaker 16: Nah?
- 15:25Speaker 4: I was like, we get to we normally get to
- 15:28Speaker 4: hold the sword. Can I can I hold you?
- 15:32Speaker 8: You know this is lost seven in the row.
- 15:34Speaker 14: I think at last three by you know double figure margins.
- 15:38Speaker 14: Does that the fact that they're struggling. Is that something
- 15:43Speaker 14: you all look at and get and glean some optimism
- 15:45Speaker 14: from or do you look at them like, okay, that
- 15:47Speaker 14: even makes some you know.
- 15:49Speaker 8: More dangerous, make some more dangerous.
- 15:51Speaker 4: Like I said, everybody in the SEC is a is
- 15:54Speaker 4: an opponent you have to like respect and going to
- 15:57Speaker 4: the game with with a different mindset. Like if you
- 16:00Speaker 4: I feel like I tell my teammates all the time,
- 16:01Speaker 4: if you don't come in with that that dog mindset,
- 16:05Speaker 4: if you don't come in with that ready mindset, then
- 16:07Speaker 4: I mean to hell, coach, like you don't need to
- 16:09Speaker 4: play like no matter how high we get or how
- 16:12Speaker 4: low we get, I mean, I feel like we always
- 16:14Speaker 4: got to stay even and stay in a tag mode.
- 16:17Speaker 14: You attribute some of the shooting slumps just one of
- 16:19Speaker 14: those things where you know, the ebbs and flow basketball
- 16:22Speaker 14: that eventually you'll kind of regress back.
- 16:23Speaker 8: To back to the meeting. Yeah, it'll eventually go back
- 16:27Speaker 8: to normal.
- 16:28Speaker 4: I feel like that's just the highs and lows of
- 16:30Speaker 4: a college back, well not even college, but basketball period.
- 16:33Speaker 4: I mean not to say we NBA players, but a
- 16:36Speaker 4: lot of NBA players you see may go a year
- 16:39Speaker 4: shooting forty percent and then next year they may be
- 16:44Speaker 4: shooting low thirties, almost twenty percent. So it's just the
- 16:46Speaker 4: highs and lows of basketball. And it's also got something
- 16:49Speaker 4: to do with, you know, I mean, fatigue. That's why
- 16:52Speaker 4: I say we got to make sure we get our rest.
- 16:54Speaker 4: We got to make sure we're eating properly, and make
- 16:56Speaker 4: sure we just continuing and get in the gym and
- 16:58Speaker 4: looking to get better on a daily basis.
- 17:02Speaker 15: What's what's maybe the hardest part from a mental standpoint,
- 17:05Speaker 15: trying to break a losing streak and just get back
- 17:08Speaker 15: on track.
- 17:09Speaker 8: I would say from me just being in college and
- 17:12Speaker 8: losing streaks and you know, prior prior uh.
- 17:16Speaker 4: Losing streets that I've been on, this just the positive mindset,
- 17:19Speaker 4: you know, the stand together, the continuing to understand that
- 17:24Speaker 4: even though we lost, we got to gain something from
- 17:26Speaker 4: the loss.
- 17:27Speaker 8: And not just think of.
- 17:28Speaker 4: It as now we're getting worse. You got to always
- 17:31Speaker 4: stay positive through it all. And I'm not saying that
- 17:34Speaker 4: they can't be coaching in there and you can't like
- 17:38Speaker 4: you know, point.
- 17:39Speaker 8: Out things and improve on things.
- 17:40Speaker 4: But I feel like staying positive through through the adversity
- 17:44Speaker 4: is something that I feel like we should harp on
- 17:48Speaker 4: what have you.
- 17:48Speaker 15: Seen from all this and just the team you're gonna
- 17:51Speaker 15: face as you guys have been scouting.
- 17:52Speaker 4: Them, I would say, I mean, we haven't really went
- 17:56Speaker 4: through it a lot, but I mean defense, something that
- 17:59Speaker 4: you know we've been struggling with is making sure we
- 18:03Speaker 4: help the next.
- 18:03Speaker 8: Man and and flow and keep keeping no paint touches.
- 18:08Speaker 4: But I feel like, I mean, it's a good It's
- 18:11Speaker 4: a good challenge for us coming up, and it should
- 18:14Speaker 4: get us on the right path, and once we get
- 18:15Speaker 4: to the right path.
- 18:16Speaker 8: We should be moving in the right direction going into March.
- 18:20Speaker 14: You feel like the lack of size of this team is.
- 18:25Speaker 8: Is hindered at some points. Has that been difficult to overcome?
- 18:29Speaker 4: I don't think so. I feel like we played great.
- 18:31Speaker 4: You know, we played great defense at times, and we
- 18:33Speaker 4: also rebounded the ball great at times. It's just about consistency,
- 18:37Speaker 4: you know, playing against bigger teams is that's that's normally
- 18:40Speaker 4: in college basketball. There's always teams that's bigger than us,
- 18:43Speaker 4: or even in my past has always been teams bigger
- 18:45Speaker 4: than us when we had seven footers that will play
- 18:47Speaker 4: the five for us. But it's just the consistency of
- 18:50Speaker 4: understanding that when you are a smaller team that you
- 18:53Speaker 4: got to do everything, all the little things all the time,
- 18:56Speaker 4: driving on the floor, you know, uh loose, getting the
- 18:59Speaker 4: fifty fifty basketballs, making secondary efforts them things just got
- 19:04Speaker 4: to stand out more.
- 19:05Speaker 15: Seems like Fetti had maybe a little more run on
- 19:08Speaker 15: Saturday's game. Just what have you seen from him lately
- 19:11Speaker 15: that maybe led to him getting unextended opportunity.
- 19:15Speaker 4: Fetty's always been great for us, no matter you know,
- 19:17Speaker 4: if he played two minutes or he played thirty minutes.
- 19:19Speaker 4: I feel like Vetti's a good energy spark that we need,
- 19:22Speaker 4: especially because of his activity defensively and I mean he
- 19:26Speaker 4: just I just tell him all the time and be
- 19:28Speaker 4: ready when your number is called.
- 19:30Speaker 8: I've been there before.
- 19:31Speaker 4: Every opportunity matters, and it matters to the team when
- 19:34Speaker 4: you come out there and you have you may come
- 19:36Speaker 4: out there for one one minute and you getting depressed,
- 19:39Speaker 4: and you might get two three turnovers and a one
- 19:41Speaker 4: minute may turn into fifteen. So I mean, he's he's
- 19:44Speaker 4: great to me. He's always been great.
- 19:47Speaker 17: The Marcus L that we've seen the last couple of
- 19:49Speaker 17: games is obviously a Marcus L that you've seen for
- 19:52Speaker 17: a couple of years now. When he was going through
- 19:54Speaker 17: that stretch at the start of SEC play, when he
- 19:57Speaker 17: was banged up, what were you telling him, just to
- 19:59Speaker 17: you know him better than anybody on this team, Just
- 20:02Speaker 17: to tell him to keep going so that when he
- 20:04Speaker 17: does get healthy he has knights like he had against fah.
- 20:08Speaker 4: Just to stay positive, you know, don't overwork yourself, don't
- 20:11Speaker 4: overthink it. You know, like I said, basketball is a
- 20:14Speaker 4: game of highs and lows. As long as you can
- 20:17Speaker 4: continue to get in the gym and you believe in
- 20:18Speaker 4: your work, your work will always show. You know, behind
- 20:21Speaker 4: closed doors, what you do behind closed doors will always
- 20:24Speaker 4: come to the light. So I just told him, just
- 20:26Speaker 4: believe in your work. You know, I watch you work
- 20:28Speaker 4: out every day, and I mean we've played against each
- 20:31Speaker 4: other multiple times, and I tell him, like man, like,
- 20:35Speaker 4: it'll work yourself out. Just be patient, and what God
- 20:38Speaker 4: has for you can beat you stop.
- 20:40Speaker 2: That's Rashawan ag the leading scorer, the leading rebounder, the
- 20:44Speaker 2: leader for this team. They got to get Ruben Domingus going. Man,
- 20:50Speaker 2: he's got to see a couple of three point shots fall.
- 20:53Speaker 2: And they got to get ryle On Griffin back going.
- 20:56Speaker 2: His last two games have not been great. They got
- 21:00Speaker 2: to get him going a little bit or two of
- 21:02Speaker 2: his last three games. I guess, so I expect a
- 21:09Speaker 2: fresher team then we saw Saturday at Vanderbilt, and I
- 21:15Speaker 2: expect a team that we've seen.
- 21:20Speaker 1: More this year than not. But they got to play.
- 21:28Speaker 2: I know what Ole miss is, but you know that
- 21:32Speaker 2: Chris Beard is a heck of a coach. They've got
- 21:35Speaker 2: players like everybody else in the league, and they need
- 21:39Speaker 2: to take care of business six o'clock tonight at Oklahoma Saturday,
- 21:45Speaker 2: then at Vietnam. Oh, they don't like that, and then
- 21:50Speaker 2: two of their last three at home, Texas, Kentucky and
- 21:53Speaker 2: lsh You now, Amo Kentucky getting beat by Georgia last
- 21:58Speaker 2: night at all that's crazy, crazy, I tell you all right.
- 22:06Speaker 2: From the baseball front, the Aggies win last night wasn't
- 22:10Speaker 2: easy close most of the way. They end up winning
- 22:18Speaker 2: eight to three, and you know, like we love to say,
- 22:28Speaker 2: that's baseball, and they'll they'll be at home all weekend
- 22:33Speaker 2: with Penn. They got home runs from three freshmen last night,
- 22:41Speaker 2: uh Partita, Boston, Kellner, Jory and Wilson the first home
- 22:49Speaker 2: runs of their careers. So here is Michael early afterward.
- 22:57Speaker 18: That's the three true freshmen at homer Den. I one
- 22:59Speaker 18: have the has shown you that they need early playing
- 23:03Speaker 18: time in the season, And how impressed were you with
- 23:05Speaker 18: their performances today?
- 23:06Speaker 19: I think I think that the thing that really helps
- 23:09Speaker 19: is they're super talented, right, like you got to have
- 23:11Speaker 19: a certain level of talent to play in the SEC
- 23:14Speaker 19: or any college baseball as a freshmen. But they've also
- 23:17Speaker 19: had some really good performances in practice where you feel
- 23:19Speaker 19: good about putting them in there. They they don't you know,
- 23:21Speaker 19: Jordan's still got He's still you know, still got a
- 23:25Speaker 19: another gear. He can get to the other two on
- 23:27Speaker 19: that gear trying to get to the next one. But
- 23:29Speaker 19: they're they're all super mature and they work really hard,
- 23:31Speaker 19: so you feel comfortable put them in there because in
- 23:33Speaker 19: the end, you know, they're all competitors to put the
- 23:36Speaker 19: lineup as a whole, just the resiliency to kind of
- 23:38Speaker 19: battle and then kind.
- 23:38Speaker 20: Of breakthrough in the end of the game. There.
- 23:40Speaker 19: Yeah, you know, it's I thought, I mean, I thought,
- 23:42Speaker 19: they're guys like that team's that's a good that's a
- 23:45Speaker 19: good freaking team. Man Like they're scrappy. That's that was
- 23:47Speaker 19: real stuff on the mountain. It's definitely a step or
- 23:50Speaker 19: two up from what we saw all weekend, and they
- 23:52Speaker 19: presented a little bit of a challenge, which was interesting
- 23:55Speaker 19: because if you look at our team as a whole,
- 23:56Speaker 19: predominantly we've got a decent amount of.
- 23:58Speaker 20: Ride fastball hitters. So what are our guys see all
- 24:00Speaker 20: the time?
- 24:01Speaker 19: It's that we had a we had a game where
- 24:04Speaker 19: Gavin Lyons really chewed us up with that armside run sinker.
- 24:08Speaker 20: We went all weekend and that's pretty much all we saw.
- 24:10Speaker 19: And they came out and had a lot of low
- 24:12Speaker 19: slot or high like ride or ride and run heaters and.
- 24:16Speaker 20: And that's what we really train on a lot.
- 24:18Speaker 19: I mean, the SEC is a pretty much a ride league,
- 24:20Speaker 19: Like you gotta you know, you gotta win the top
- 24:22Speaker 19: of the zone and get above it.
- 24:23Speaker 20: I didn't think we did that consistently, which is why
- 24:26Speaker 20: the game kind of drug out.
- 24:27Speaker 19: I mean, credit to them for hitting their spots, but
- 24:29Speaker 19: I think for us, we gotta, you know, we gotta
- 24:31Speaker 19: be able to hit different looks.
- 24:32Speaker 20: Bringing the seecret.
- 24:33Speaker 19: Guy, bringing a ride guy, but resilience absolutely no panic,
- 24:38Speaker 19: kept grinding, got on basement.
- 24:40Speaker 20: You need to got to hitch. We need to get it.
- 24:42Speaker 20: So that that was a that was a plus, like
- 24:44Speaker 20: you gotta play.
- 24:44Speaker 19: I mean that was a that wasn't a five run
- 24:46Speaker 19: game like that felt that was tight, That was good
- 24:48Speaker 19: for us to play in.
- 24:50Speaker 20: We did great this weekend. Those are fun.
- 24:52Speaker 19: Those are not gonna happen a lot, right, So games
- 24:54Speaker 19: like that on a Tuesday and just getting up after
- 24:58Speaker 19: an awesome weekend, I'll take that every day.
- 25:01Speaker 15: What did Ko's homer kind of do to get a
- 25:03Speaker 15: little bit of a catalyst spark blood going, because it
- 25:05Speaker 15: seemed like from there you'll started to get some crooked numbers.
- 25:07Speaker 19: Yeah, it's always good to get on the board, right,
- 25:09Speaker 19: get the first hit, get the first run, and it's like, okay,
- 25:12Speaker 19: we're right in this thing.
- 25:12Speaker 20: But I I just go back to like Gavin Lyons
- 25:15Speaker 20: performance was awesome.
- 25:17Speaker 19: I mean, you guys know all these Tuesday games and
- 25:19Speaker 19: go it can turn into a bullpen. I mean, look
- 25:21Speaker 19: what they did for him to give up those two
- 25:23Speaker 19: home runs and then they weren't bad pitches, and then
- 25:26Speaker 19: just keep going, keep going and get to the fifth inning.
- 25:29Speaker 19: I decided, an unbelievable job and he dart in fresh
- 25:33Speaker 19: or in one. They all allowed us to do what
- 25:35Speaker 19: we did off there. So it's a really really good
- 25:37Speaker 19: team performance.
- 25:38Speaker 15: I guess to that point, just what was it about
- 25:41Speaker 15: Lions that he was able to just shake shake those
- 25:43Speaker 15: off and keep it going.
- 25:45Speaker 19: It was a it was a big step for him, right,
- 25:47Speaker 19: You've seen him like he keep he pitched well last
- 25:50Speaker 19: year and he's had some outings, I mean practice predominance.
- 25:54Speaker 19: So I'm going off the time where maybe he gets
- 25:56Speaker 19: touched up a little bit and then.
- 25:59Speaker 20: It goes south. He just kept throwing his pitches like
- 26:01Speaker 20: those guys, those were good hitters that hit those balls.
- 26:04Speaker 20: Those are good players. He just kept going.
- 26:06Speaker 19: He really the breaking ball has gotten a lot better
- 26:08Speaker 19: this year, so he's able to pitch like this, not
- 26:11Speaker 19: just one side of the plate, which is really beneficial
- 26:13Speaker 19: from a really.
- 26:14Speaker 20: Unique arm slot. You haven't seen repaan all when he
- 26:16Speaker 20: came back to the route. No, not at all, not
- 26:19Speaker 20: at all.
- 26:20Speaker 19: He did like a little spin parallette on the way
- 26:24Speaker 19: out before he came out and caught a cramp, so
- 26:25Speaker 19: he should probably not do that again. But he was
- 26:27Speaker 19: come out of the game anyway, No, he was.
- 26:29Speaker 20: He was like this the entire time.
- 26:31Speaker 18: What does it say about Jordian that little bounce back
- 26:34Speaker 18: from an over three start and stay with it. Was
- 26:36Speaker 18: there any conversation ahead with him and he thought of
- 26:38Speaker 18: even lifting him anything like that.
- 26:39Speaker 20: No, no, no thought of taking him out of the game. Like,
- 26:41Speaker 20: we need that guy to we need that guy to play.
- 26:43Speaker 20: He needs the experience. You can see what he can do.
- 26:45Speaker 19: He just needed to He just needed to relax, get
- 26:48Speaker 19: his swing off, not think too much. You know, he's
- 26:51Speaker 19: he's so coachable to the point where sometimes it's almost
- 26:56Speaker 19: too much, like he's gonna do everything he asked. It's
- 26:57Speaker 19: just like, dude, just relax, get you swing off, trust
- 27:01Speaker 19: your strike zone control. He's gonna help us. I mean,
- 27:03Speaker 19: he's gonna carve out a role one way or another.
- 27:05Speaker 19: But we need we need some left handed hitting. And
- 27:07Speaker 19: you can see what he can do.
- 27:09Speaker 8: I saw Chris and the dugout. Was he close to
- 27:11Speaker 8: playing it all tonight?
- 27:11Speaker 19: Yeah, pretty close, I think, I think, uh, I think,
- 27:15Speaker 19: you know, Friday, hopefully we're good to go on Friday.
- 27:18Speaker 19: Speaking of Chris, not having him in the lineup, not
- 27:20Speaker 19: having to the best night, what's to say to be
- 27:22Speaker 19: able to still put eight points on the board with
- 27:24Speaker 19: you know, a couple of your key pieces not really contributed. Yeah,
- 27:27Speaker 19: I mean, we just want to be able to plug
- 27:28Speaker 19: and play right obviously, like Sorell, what a what a
- 27:32Speaker 19: humbling game? Baseball is, right, like you gotta It's just
- 27:35Speaker 19: it's you can he can be up here one second
- 27:37Speaker 19: and you're down here and he's gonna be He's gonna
- 27:39Speaker 19: be fine.
- 27:39Speaker 20: And Chestnut did an awesome job, got in there.
- 27:42Speaker 19: Just a great piece to have, and all those guys contributed.
- 27:45Speaker 20: Well, I mean it was we're playing, man, it.
- 27:47Speaker 19: Don't matter who's on the field, Like we use two
- 27:50Speaker 19: things you can do in a baseball game.
- 27:51Speaker 20: You can win or you can lose. You're in the game.
- 27:52Speaker 20: We're trying to win. And I thought those guys really
- 27:55Speaker 20: battled and really.
- 27:56Speaker 2: All right, that's uh Michael. Early after the game last night,
- 28:03Speaker 2: Sweden has just scored the tying goal with a minute
- 28:08Speaker 2: and thirty one seconds left.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Zabinijev did it and.
- 28:17Speaker 2: Another big time NHL player, Like I said, the rosters
- 28:22Speaker 2: filled with him.
- 28:23Speaker 1: Hellabuck has been great.
- 28:25Speaker 2: There was some traffic in front of him, and man,
- 28:35Speaker 2: that was just a sniper of a shot to the
- 28:39Speaker 2: short side. It is one to one with a minute
- 28:43Speaker 2: fifteen left. Now in regulation, we're at the point where
- 28:48Speaker 2: next goal is going to win this game. It's going
- 28:53Speaker 2: to eliminate the opponent and set the winner up for
- 28:58Speaker 2: the semifinals and it's dance at the gold medal. You know,
- 29:08Speaker 2: you knew this game was going to be like this.
- 29:10Speaker 2: It's been like this the whole game. It has been tight,
- 29:14Speaker 2: tight checking, great goaltending, played at an extremely high level.
- 29:22Speaker 2: And I don't think until the horn sounded anybody was
- 29:29Speaker 2: taking anything for granted. But again, tying goal with a
- 29:35Speaker 2: buck thirty left and the US.
- 29:39Speaker 1: Team needs a goal. Maybe going overtime. We'll let you know.

- 34:00Speaker 12: You can't make a record if you ain't got nothing.
- 34:03Speaker 2: To say it is all welly Wednesday, we are in
- 34:06Speaker 2: overtime US and Sweden, so it's three on three hockey
- 34:10Speaker 2: right now.
- 34:11Speaker 1: Weird stuff happens with three on three hockey.
- 34:14Speaker 2: Sudden death three on three Yep, sudden death three on
- 34:18Speaker 2: three hockey. So it's it's anybody's game. I don't like this, Yeah,
- 34:26Speaker 2: I don't like it either. I liked it better when
- 34:28Speaker 2: it was one to nothing and it looked like the
- 34:32Speaker 2: US was going to advance, but Sweden tied it up
- 34:37Speaker 2: with a minute thirty to play. You were out at
- 34:39Speaker 2: Olson last night, Yes, how was.
- 34:42Speaker 1: It south wind Yep?
- 34:46Speaker 9: It wasn't blown in my face. That's good all weekend
- 34:49Speaker 9: this weekend coming up gonna be blown in my face.
- 34:51Speaker 1: It is.
- 34:56Speaker 9: Thought the first half of the game, too many pop ups.
- 35:01Speaker 9: Not that that thought they were swinging for the fences,
- 35:04Speaker 9: but they were being pitched up in the upper half
- 35:07Speaker 9: of the zone, pitches that would have been called strikes. Yeah,
- 35:10Speaker 9: and weren't getting on top of the baseball. So when
- 35:13Speaker 9: that when that changed, and it happened to be the
- 35:16Speaker 9: freshman that changed it. I mean, you got three freshmen
- 35:21Speaker 9: with with power potential like you had with Grohovic, like
- 35:25Speaker 9: you had with Sorell. I mean, it's just those three
- 35:30Speaker 9: guys are very talented young players.
- 35:35Speaker 1: And you know, Jordan Wilson's kind of a beast, didn't he?
- 35:40Speaker 9: Uh not kind of. He's about He's about the biggest
- 35:47Speaker 9: actual athlete that has been out at Aggie Baseball in
- 35:52Speaker 9: a long time.
- 35:53Speaker 1: He from Hollettsville. Did I get that right?
- 35:56Speaker 9: From Hollettsville?
- 35:57Speaker 1: He played football as well?
- 35:59Speaker 9: I don't think he did. I think he I think
- 36:06Speaker 9: we would have heard of him been a football player too.
- 36:09Speaker 1: How big is he six? Okay? Because he looked bigger
- 36:14Speaker 1: than that.
- 36:15Speaker 9: He fills out the uniform he does.
- 36:17Speaker 1: He's a monster.
- 36:24Speaker 9: No basketball, JV football. He did not play varsity football.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Okay, well, he probably picked the right sport.
- 36:34Speaker 9: Yeah. I got a question for you about this Olympic copy. Yeah,
- 36:40Speaker 9: is this rink bigger than smaller?
- 36:43Speaker 8: Now?
- 36:43Speaker 1: It is smaller, smaller.
- 36:45Speaker 9: Because at Lake Placid it was bigger than.
- 36:49Speaker 1: I didn't remember that.
- 36:50Speaker 2: I thought it was smaller too, But no, this this
- 36:52Speaker 2: rink is is is smaller, a little bit shorter, not
- 36:58Speaker 2: a lot, uh, but the the other factor and we've
- 37:02Speaker 2: seen it several times in the third period, especially uh
- 37:06Speaker 2: the ice hasn't been great.
- 37:08Speaker 9: And I don't think the ice has been gatt in
- 37:11Speaker 9: my and my skating events either.
- 37:13Speaker 1: This this time of of of game. Oh is that right? Yes,
- 37:18Speaker 1: this this time of game.
- 37:20Speaker 2: Uh, the puck has and that had, by the way,
- 37:23Speaker 2: that had nothing to do with with the goalie us
- 37:25Speaker 2: gave up.
- 37:26Speaker 1: It was just a blast.
- 37:27Speaker 2: But but the puck has taken some really funky bounces.
- 37:32Speaker 1: Uh.
- 37:33Speaker 2: You could tell they have a hard time controlling the puck.
- 37:39Speaker 2: And again both teams have to do it. And both
- 37:42Speaker 2: these teams have played on on bad ice before.
- 37:45Speaker 1: Uh.
- 37:45Speaker 2: And I don't think it's terrible. I just I don't
- 37:49Speaker 2: think it's It's what most of them are used to
- 37:53Speaker 2: playing most nights, I guess, is the best way to
- 37:56Speaker 2: put it.
- 37:56Speaker 9: You mean they have good ice in the NHL.
- 37:58Speaker 2: There there's not one player on the ice today that
- 38:03Speaker 2: doesn't play in the NHL. And the teams for the
- 38:07Speaker 2: two teams for sure.
- 38:09Speaker 9: Because these had more professional hockey players.
- 38:14Speaker 1: Well, I don't know about I don't know about NHL players. Uh.
- 38:18Speaker 2: And I didn't get to see, unfortunately, that Canada Chatchie game,
- 38:26Speaker 2: and apparently they were within a hair's breadth of upset
- 38:32Speaker 2: in Canada.
- 38:33Speaker 1: But these are I mean, all these teams.
- 38:36Speaker 2: It's it's amazing, you know, because these guys, all of
- 38:41Speaker 2: these guys.
- 38:42Speaker 1: Are are NHL players.
- 38:43Speaker 2: So this is this is like Game seven kind of stuff,
- 38:48Speaker 2: I guess is the best way to put it, because
- 38:50Speaker 2: it is an elimination game. And by the way, there's
- 38:55Speaker 2: six forty five left to play in the overtime, and
- 38:59Speaker 2: I do believe they go to a shootout if nobody
- 39:02Speaker 2: scores in overtime.
- 39:04Speaker 9: Yes, I think they shoots.
- 39:06Speaker 1: I don't like it, but that's just and that's it.
- 39:10Speaker 2: The United States has advanced, Hughes has been unbelievable. A
- 39:17Speaker 2: goal was six thirty three in the overtime back there.
- 39:21Speaker 2: And the Americans have knocked out Sweden and they will
- 39:27Speaker 2: play look at the Swedish bitch. They will play in
- 39:31Speaker 2: the semifinals against Slovakia. And I think it's Saturday because
- 39:37Speaker 2: the women play tomorrow for the goal the US and
- 39:41Speaker 2: Canada at noon.
- 39:43Speaker 9: Do you and I understood that it's going to be
- 39:45Speaker 9: a great no doubt, it's going to be great, Okay, yes,
- 39:49Speaker 9: but this year, right now, the US women look like
- 39:53Speaker 9: the Russian national team.
- 39:55Speaker 1: Well, I mean, look are favored. Yeah, they are think
- 40:00Speaker 1: their favorite.
- 40:01Speaker 9: Finally, the only goal they have allowed was in the
- 40:07Speaker 9: second period of the first game, and it was a
- 40:10Speaker 9: girl coming out of the penalty box. Correct want to
- 40:13Speaker 9: break away on a breakaway. She came out and the
- 40:16Speaker 9: punt landed at her feet. Yeah, and she went and scored.
- 40:20Speaker 1: Yeah. They've been really they've been really good.
- 40:22Speaker 9: They have been amazing.
- 40:24Speaker 1: Canada has been without their best player early. She is back.
- 40:28Speaker 1: She has like three or four gold.
- 40:29Speaker 9: Medals she scored and she scored two goals.
- 40:31Speaker 1: Yeah. No, I know she's really good.
- 40:34Speaker 2: But I think the US should be a slight favorite
- 40:37Speaker 2: tomorrow going into that one. With these four teams left
- 40:41Speaker 2: now fit, I think it's Finland, Canada, the US, and Slovakia.
- 40:51Speaker 2: Canada is still the favorite. By the way, Sidney cross
- 40:55Speaker 2: because her day he got crushed.
- 41:01Speaker 9: I thought it was back his fore him. Uh it's yep.
- 41:05Speaker 2: And look, Sidney Crosby is still Sidney Crosby. But if
- 41:11Speaker 2: any team can can survive not having Sidney Crosby, it's
- 41:16Speaker 2: that Canada team.
- 41:17Speaker 1: They're just loaded.
- 41:18Speaker 11: Uh.
- 41:19Speaker 2: Anyway, the US advances. What a hockey game, unbelievable hockey game.
- 41:25Speaker 1: Uh.
- 41:25Speaker 2: For those of you who saw the final the Four
- 41:28Speaker 2: Nations game between the US and Canada last year. Uh,
- 41:32Speaker 2: it wasn't quite that intense because the crowd it was is.
- 41:38Speaker 2: Certainly there's a lot of US fans there and there
- 41:41Speaker 2: was certainly a good portion of Swedish fans. It wasn't
- 41:45Speaker 2: quite the atmosphere, but it was darn close. Well, if
- 41:49Speaker 2: it's US and Canada played for the gold Sunday morning,
- 41:53Speaker 2: it'll be fun. It will be fun. You there, I
- 41:56Speaker 2: would think Snoopy would be there. He was there today.
- 42:00Speaker 2: He's everywhere.
- 42:01Speaker 12: Man.
- 42:01Speaker 1: I don't know how he gets to you know, No,
- 42:03Speaker 1: I know how he gets limo. Oh yeah, yeah.
- 42:06Speaker 9: But I'm just saying it is crazy to me that
- 42:10Speaker 9: in the last eight years that Snoop Dogg has become.
- 42:16Speaker 1: So you know who. I compare this to George Foreman.
- 42:21Speaker 9: Great.
- 42:23Speaker 2: I compare Snoop's career rise to George Foreman. Uh. And
- 42:28Speaker 2: not that Snoop was ever as sour or menacing as
- 42:31Speaker 2: George Foreman.
- 42:32Speaker 1: He wasn't different sport, different things.
- 42:35Speaker 2: But how he has rebranded himself and what he has done, Uh.
- 42:41Speaker 9: Is the nation's grandfather.
- 42:42Speaker 8: Now?
- 42:43Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 42:43Speaker 1: Is that incredible?
- 42:44Speaker 9: Yes?
- 42:45Speaker 1: I mean it is incredible.
- 42:48Speaker 9: Yeah, I def jam records.
- 42:51Speaker 2: But you but you look at this guy and he's
- 42:55Speaker 2: just a lovable goofball, right, he loves sports and he
- 42:59Speaker 2: does love sports.
- 43:01Speaker 1: But it's just fun to see. All Right, We'll take
- 43:03Speaker 1: a break, We'll come back.

- 46:05Speaker 20: Din it is here.
- 46:06Speaker 2: I'm not finished with basketball, by the way. By the way,
- 46:09Speaker 2: I mean baseball.
- 46:10Speaker 1: Yes, just in uh oh uh, where's that sounder there?
- 46:15Speaker 1: It's there somewhere. Yeah.
- 46:22Speaker 9: I just got this text from my aunt and uncle. Attention, attention, attention. Okay,
- 46:28Speaker 9: February eighteenth is a National Drink Wine Day. No way,
- 46:33Speaker 9: celebrate responsible. Don't tell my wife that I just did.
- 46:37Speaker 9: Yeah I know so, uh yeah, National drink wine Day.
- 46:44Speaker 1: Nice, you know, not a wine guy, never been a
- 46:51Speaker 1: wine guy.
- 46:52Speaker 9: Got myself.
- 46:53Speaker 2: Uh, let's I'm not We're not had to look at
- 46:56Speaker 2: baseball yet. Let's little now that now that I could,
- 46:59Speaker 2: I don't have to pay attention to what's going on.
- 47:01Speaker 2: Let's talk a little laggie baseball and what you've seen
- 47:03Speaker 2: the first four games from this team.
- 47:09Speaker 9: Well, I mean Corpus came in with a lot of momentum.
- 47:12Speaker 9: They beat a Northeast team pretty badly this weekend. They
- 47:18Speaker 9: had beaten A and M for the first time ever
- 47:20Speaker 9: last year, so they had some momentum. They were looking
- 47:24Speaker 9: to make it too in a row. And you know,
- 47:28Speaker 9: it's just kind of you know, they come in, they
- 47:34Speaker 9: hit two home runs early and then A and M
- 47:36Speaker 9: does not let that go any farther. And I thought
- 47:39Speaker 9: that was very important for Gavin Lyons and then Ethan
- 47:43Speaker 9: Darden later on even after so he comes in it's
- 47:47Speaker 9: three to two. After AEM has taken a lead, they
- 47:50Speaker 9: get a runner at third with no outs. He strikes
- 47:53Speaker 9: out two guys and then gives up the tying run.
- 47:55Speaker 9: But I thought it was important that it wasn't like
- 47:58Speaker 9: immediately I gave up a single that got the run in.
- 48:00Speaker 9: He punched out two guys that got him in the
- 48:03Speaker 9: position to get out of the jam, and then A
- 48:05Speaker 9: and M pushed away at the end. That was good.
- 48:08Speaker 9: This weekend was good offensively. You know, on Sunday the
- 48:15Speaker 9: win turns around. Yep, that's as impressive that you're able
- 48:18Speaker 9: to get seven runs with seven singles and one extra
- 48:21Speaker 9: base hit. You had good pitching, not your best pitching,
- 48:26Speaker 9: but Weston Moss being a starter for the first time
- 48:30Speaker 9: in Shane Sedeo coming off of miss season, big steps
- 48:34Speaker 9: in the right direction. The key to this year's team,
- 48:39Speaker 9: as I have kind of spoken at a couple times now,
- 48:43Speaker 9: is they gave up. They took five losses in Tuesday
- 48:48Speaker 9: night games that they shouldn't have lost last year. Okay,
- 48:52Speaker 9: they won thirty games eleven and nineteen in the league,
- 48:56Speaker 9: and a thirty five and nineteen record gotten them in
- 49:02Speaker 9: just winning more non conference games. Yeah, because this league.
- 49:05Speaker 1: You're sending the Tuesday games are pretty important.
- 49:07Speaker 9: They're very important, and they have got to figure out
- 49:10Speaker 9: what they're gonna do pitching wise. Gavinlines first, Blush did
- 49:13Speaker 9: a great job. Ethan Darden can be a swing guy
- 49:16Speaker 9: or he could be a starter. They have guys for
- 49:18Speaker 9: those games. They don't play any Tuesday Wednesdays anymore. So
- 49:24Speaker 9: you know it's important for that that you have an
- 49:27Speaker 9: opportunity when you are playing that you make the most
- 49:33Speaker 9: of it. When you're a Tuesday pitcher.
- 49:35Speaker 1: You got Lamar, you got and Carnet word. You have
- 49:41Speaker 1: Steven F. Austin.
- 49:43Speaker 2: You have Texas State, which we know last year was
- 49:46Speaker 2: pretty good.
- 49:47Speaker 9: Word two years ago was two years ago. These are
- 49:50Speaker 9: not just walk over games.
- 49:54Speaker 8: You know.
- 49:54Speaker 9: So Houston Christian has been good in the past. Now
- 49:58Speaker 9: two years removed from Lance Bertman. See if they're still making.
- 50:02Speaker 2: Games with the University of Houston. You've got game with
- 50:05Speaker 2: UTSA UGSA do last year they were pretty good, I think.
- 50:11Speaker 9: Yeah, I don't know, super regional team, not Texas out
- 50:13Speaker 9: of the regional I think.
- 50:14Speaker 8: So.
- 50:16Speaker 9: I'm not saying that you have to win all those games,
- 50:19Speaker 9: but most of them, but you have to win most
- 50:21Speaker 9: of them. Yeah, and if you're the talented team that
- 50:25Speaker 9: you have that opportunity. Penn comes in this weekend. They
- 50:27Speaker 9: picked third in the in the IVY. We've seen the
- 50:31Speaker 9: kind of talent that the IVY has had because it's
- 50:34Speaker 9: it's going on to play you know here other places,
- 50:37Speaker 9: big time talent. So, but it's their first time out.
- 50:42Speaker 9: They haven't been outside. The weather up in the Northeast
- 50:45Speaker 9: has been poor. Yeah, so this is gonna be their
- 50:47Speaker 9: first time outside. The good thing on there is now
- 50:50Speaker 9: they've got four games on the Aggies. They've seen they've
- 50:53Speaker 9: got four games of tape of these players, there's not
- 50:56Speaker 9: going to be any surprises, uh, and they'll have a plan.
- 50:59Speaker 9: So you know, it was a step in the right direction.
- 51:04Speaker 9: I think that you see why Kelner and Partita are playing,
- 51:09Speaker 9: even though you could very easily have had Grahovic at
- 51:13Speaker 9: third and Royo playing somewhere in the infield. U Kopian
- 51:18Speaker 9: hasn't played the last two games. He's been ill, yep,
- 51:20Speaker 9: but you could ad Bender up at first. There are
- 51:22Speaker 9: other upperclassmen, guys with at bats that have had key
- 51:26Speaker 9: roles in last year's team when they had the resurgence
- 51:29Speaker 9: in the second half, that aren't playing because of the
- 51:31Speaker 9: talent of the freshman it was. You know, they wanted
- 51:34Speaker 9: to get Jorian Wilson on the field. Well, last night
- 51:37Speaker 9: the only way to get him on the field was
- 51:39Speaker 9: take Karen's keel off of it and he came in
- 51:41Speaker 9: and ran late and played defense. But you know, there's
- 51:45Speaker 9: a talented guy we just talking about how big and
- 51:48Speaker 9: how talented and athletic and what its future is. He
- 51:51Speaker 9: can't get on the field unless you're taking Jack Doer
- 51:55Speaker 9: who's tearing to cover off the ball. You're not going
- 51:57Speaker 9: to take Crell out of playing center field, so they
- 52:00Speaker 9: have depth in the infield, in the outfield. I thought
- 52:03Speaker 9: that Becker playing catcher in the third game was important.
- 52:08Speaker 9: It gave Bear Harrison a chance to kind of reset,
- 52:12Speaker 9: and you want to keep that catcher position fresh. So
- 52:16Speaker 9: if they're going fifty to fifty or three games in
- 52:18Speaker 9: one game, that doesn't surprise me. He came over from Arkansas.
- 52:22Speaker 9: He's got a key role on this team because bar
- 52:24Speaker 9: Harrison from the last two thirds of the season caught
- 52:28Speaker 9: every game and I don't think they want to do
- 52:30Speaker 9: that because they want him to be fresh offensively.
- 52:35Speaker 1: Pitching. Overall, we hit on it a little bit.
- 52:41Speaker 9: Really not disappointed in what they did. I think that
- 52:45Speaker 9: you see fresh Corn is still a key guy down there.
- 52:48Speaker 9: We still haven't seen Josh Stewart yet. That is going
- 52:50Speaker 9: to be interesting to see what he is when he
- 52:52Speaker 9: comes out. He was going pretty good this spring up
- 52:55Speaker 9: until the last, up until the last scrimmage.
- 52:59Speaker 1: Who's the closer to be well?
- 53:01Speaker 9: I think you know Darden can mix in there. I
- 53:04Speaker 9: think that fresh Corn mixes in there, and I think
- 53:07Speaker 9: that Stuart mixes in there.
- 53:09Speaker 1: So do you think do you think he'll wait to see?
- 53:13Speaker 8: Uh?
- 53:13Speaker 2: You know deeper in, after they've played some games, who
- 53:17Speaker 2: the most consistent was, and all things being equal, he
- 53:22Speaker 2: would prefer.
- 53:22Speaker 1: To have a guy come in.
- 53:25Speaker 2: Now you need more, you need more than one because
- 53:27Speaker 2: you're playing weekend series in the SEC.
- 53:29Speaker 9: But but last year, with the injuries that they took
- 53:32Speaker 9: in the bullpen, they never had that opportunity to really
- 53:36Speaker 9: have one guy. It was done as a committee. So
- 53:39Speaker 9: I'm not going to speak to UH coach Kelly and
- 53:42Speaker 9: see exactly what he wants to have happen. UH, But
- 53:46Speaker 9: you know, I think you have those guys that have experience.
- 53:50Speaker 9: You have freshmen that maybe you can see in the
- 53:53Speaker 9: Tuesdays and the middle innings if one of them, if
- 53:56Speaker 9: if they've got that mentality to to get it done.
- 53:59Speaker 9: And then I thought last night Vargas, who had come
- 54:02Speaker 9: over from Tennessee Tech and didn't pitch against his old
- 54:05Speaker 9: team last year, came in and was a mid nineties
- 54:07Speaker 9: guy with some stuff and through a good inning himself.
- 54:11Speaker 9: So you know, they've they've got They're they're not they're
- 54:16Speaker 9: not deficient at talent wise at any of these positions. Chip, Okay,
- 54:21Speaker 9: I mean this, it's it's you need to stay healthy
- 54:25Speaker 9: a copy and needs to be on the on the field.
- 54:28Speaker 9: There's a reason why he's a preseason All American. You
- 54:32Speaker 9: you can't have like last year where you only had
- 54:34Speaker 9: one of your preseasons All American playing all year long.
- 54:37Speaker 9: So that's why they're being cautious with Kobean.
- 54:41Speaker 1: Yeah, and uh Man.
- 54:42Speaker 2: As many conference games as you play, you don't have
- 54:46Speaker 2: a lot of time to get to get ready.
- 54:48Speaker 1: No, there's three weeks.
- 54:49Speaker 9: March thirteen was the biggest surprise after last week in Arlington.
- 54:55Speaker 9: They sweep those three games. They beat TCU, they beat Tech,
- 54:58Speaker 9: and they beat Oklahoma State, and they were the big
- 55:01Speaker 9: riser in the polls this week. And then you have
- 55:05Speaker 9: the preseason number one and expect a national champion UCLA
- 55:09Speaker 9: up in Arlington in two weeks. And you know, and
- 55:13Speaker 9: you've got Arizona State in that tournament, Virginia Tech. Those
- 55:16Speaker 9: have been NCAA regional super regional teams for a long time.
- 55:22Speaker 1: So yeah, and they need to play those games and then.
- 55:25Speaker 9: But I like it I talked to last at the
- 55:28Speaker 9: end of last week, is they get to play up
- 55:31Speaker 9: in that tournament. They get to see exactly where they are,
- 55:35Speaker 9: assess it. They need to make any changes, and then
- 55:37Speaker 9: they go out of conference one more time and then
- 55:40Speaker 9: go to Oklahoma. So they still have one week to say, hey,
- 55:43Speaker 9: here's some changes here, guys that aren't performing at the
- 55:46Speaker 9: level they thought. You've got, you know, ten games under
- 55:51Speaker 9: your belt. Let's see if we need to make some changes.
- 55:54Speaker 9: And then they can do that that weekend before they
- 55:56Speaker 9: go on the road to Oklahoma.
- 55:57Speaker 2: If you hadn't been by David Gardner's and checked out
- 56:01Speaker 2: everything they continue to do and have done in terms
- 56:05Speaker 2: of reimagining their space there, you need to do that.
- 56:09Speaker 2: They're fully operational, by the way. I know there's been
- 56:12Speaker 2: construction going on, but if you've looked at the outside,
- 56:17Speaker 2: why do you see the inside and what they've done there.
- 56:20Speaker 2: They're open Tuesday through Saturday from ten to six. David
