- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome back to another episode of The Docs Podcast.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: Josh, all your host today.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_00]: I hope everybody has had some time to recover, to digest, to lament, and just come to terms with everything that has transpired this week.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, Miles Garrett.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: getting sent out of Cleveland on Monday to Los Angeles, and a trade with the Rams that brought back Jared verse, the edge rusher two year, edge rusher young guy from the Rams along with their 2020.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_00]: Seven first round pick, 2020, eight second round pick.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: and their 2020 9 conditional third round pick, which I talked about on a short video the other day, but I will mention here in just a second as well.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_00]: But today on the episode, what I want to do is touch on some of the details that have come out about the trade since it happened here over the last couple of days.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: And today's primary focus is going to be Jared verse.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: Who is Jared verse?
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: Let's talk about him.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go through his history.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_00]: I want everybody to understand who this new player is that the Browns have acquired.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_00]: And by the time I go through all of his information in his history and stats and stuff like that, I hope we all have a new appreciation for who he is and some of the things that he said
- 1:59[SPEAKER_00]: I was impressed with him sitting in front of the media in a new city, a new team, and he's just a very strong, young leader.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: I guess is how I will put it for now.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_00]: But let's dive into first of all.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: I mentioned this here at the top, that conditional third round pick, right?
- 2:19[SPEAKER_00]: So when the official trade hit the actual NFL transaction wire,
- 2:26[SPEAKER_00]: Mary K. Cabot.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think was the first one to really notice the hey, wait a minute here.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_00]: The third round pick in 2029 is listed as conditional.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_00]: So everybody is like, oh, what's what's the condition?
- 2:37[SPEAKER_00]: What is it if like Miles Garrett makes a probe or all pro and two years or something?
- 2:41[SPEAKER_00]: It turns into a second round pick or whatever.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_00]: No, so.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: the conditional third-round pick is the poison pill, very similar to what the Dallas Cowboys did last year when they traded the micoparsons over to the Green Bay Packers.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: Andrew Barry put a little clause into the trade with the Rams that if the Rams were to ever trade miles Garrett back into the AFC North to a rival, so if they would ever trade miles Garrett to the
- 3:14[SPEAKER_00]: that third round pick in 2029 would become a first round pick.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so that's the poison pill.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: That's what Dallas did with Mike Parsons.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't want to see him back in the NFC East, especially with the Philadelphia Eagles.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_00]: So that's what Andrew Barry did here with Miles Garrett.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: Now,
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: Is it a worry that the Rams were ever going to trade Miles Garrett period?
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: Are they ever going to trade him back to the AFC North?
- 3:41[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_00]: So this is really nothing burger, but still a little interesting tidbit, a little clause that Andrew very did put in to this trade with the Rams.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: So that's what that's all about.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I want to talk about some of the information that's come out about the trade before I do.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_00]: Make sure you guys go to join the dogs.com if you want to be part of our Discord dog pack community.

- 4:48[SPEAKER_00]: Great people.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_00]: Like I said, die hard fans and there's conversations going on 24, 7, about anything and everything, especially with the browns this past week, with the Miles Garrett.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_00]: news and the trade and everything that was the place to be so head over to join the dogs.com and sign up now if you want to play fantasy football with us this season.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_00]: All right, so let's talk about this trade.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: We kind of figured, and it was confirmed, this trade has been in the works for a long time.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_00]: Discussions about the Miles Garrett trade with the Rams that picked up in late March, when, aha, the Browns moved back, Miles Garrett's bonus date to September.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_00]: Again, guys, listen to Jack Duffin at the OBR.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_00]: I have no affiliation with Jack Duffin to like, I don't get paid to push him or to push his work.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just telling you guys for my own experience.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_00]: when it comes to contract related stuff.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_00]: Jack Duffin is the only one I will trust.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_00]: I don't trust Mary Kay.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_00]: I don't trust Tony Groves.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_00]: I don't trust Ken Carmen.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_00]: I don't trust anybody.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: else.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: Other than Jack Duffin and as soon as that contractor, as soon as the roster bonus got pushed back, Jack Duffin immediately said, OK, trade window has been extended.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: That's the only reason you do this.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: The only reason you would push back, a bonus is to elongate a trade opportunity window.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_00]: And that is exactly what happened.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_00]: So as soon as that happened, the Rams came right
- 6:23[SPEAKER_00]: Sean McVay has said or he did say that Miles Garrett is one of his favorite players of all time.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_00]: The Rams inquired about Miles Garrett clear back in 2022.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_00]: But obviously back then the Brown said, no, that was, you know, the first year that we had to Sean Watson things were supposed to be awesome.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, we're supposed to have this great elite level quarter bag that was going to take us to the promised land.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: And that did not obviously happen.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: But
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: There has been interest for a while from the Ramside in Miles Garrett.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: At the league meetings this past off season, Sean McBay was all over Andrew Barry about Miles Garrett and the two sides have been going back and forth ever since then.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: Apparently, the Browns and the Rams were so confident that a trade would get done, it led the Rams to select in quarterback Ty Simpson with the 13th overall pick, knowing that they would be losing future draft capital in the trade, and they wanted to have a Matthew Stafford's Session plan in place before doing it.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: So, and again, the information I'm talking about right now, this was in an article from Zac Jackson at the Athletic.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: He got all this information and wrote about it, so this is really good stuff, but
- 7:36[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the big takeaway is the, the trade didn't just come out of nowhere and, you know, obviously the Browns were at their golf outing on Monday.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Andrew Barry was out on the course.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_00]: He's out on the legs.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: He's not in the office.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_00]: Building trade calls are working the deal with the Rams on Monday.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_00]: This was already done.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_00]: They met with Miles Garrett on Saturday to let him know.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: that the trade was happening and to thank him for the nine years he spent in Cleveland everything he'd done for the organization all that stuff.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_00]: So this was done.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: This deal did not come out of left field.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_00]: This had been in place for quite a while.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_00]: So Ram's team source going back to the the Ram's
- 8:19[SPEAKER_00]: You know, feeling confident enough that they were going to be losing future capital for miles gear.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: They said, let's just go ahead and take the Tyson's and now while we have the chance to get a quarterback team source within the Rams organization said, quote, if you're going to trade future first round picks for a player, you would better know who your quarterback is going to be.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: But coming out of that trade, and you're very
- 8:44[SPEAKER_00]: He had his press conference the other day, talk about it.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't just want a slew of draft picks.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: He wanted Jared Vers, who we're gonna talk about at length today.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: And that was the only thing in this entire discussion that made Sean McVeigh hesitate.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_00]: I think I saw where the Rams even said no to the Browns at one point.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: Mick Vase said trading Jared verse was the most difficult part of this entire deal, but ultimately Los Angeles felt like they have a unique window here with Matthew Stafford over the next couple years, and the rest of the roster to go win a title right now, Miles Garrett, obviously the best defensive player in the league.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_00]: So again, like we said on Monday, this is a story of timelines.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: Miles Garrett, he is in a title winning window.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: His timeline is winning a title right now.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: That's not the Browns timeline.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I can't really get mad at me for saying that.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: The Browns are not in a title winning window right this minute.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_00]: The Rams are, so it meets up very well, matches perfectly with Miles Garrett and his goals.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_00]: Jared Versa on the other hand.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_00]: He is still in a developing window as a player with his prime years and his big title push times, yet to come.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_00]: Now obviously he wanted to be in LA, playing for the Rams winning Super Bowl's right now.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_00]: You never want to take that away from a young player.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_00]: It's not what I'm saying.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_00]: But he has a lot of years remaining.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_00]: He hasn't even touched his prime years yet.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: Miles Garrett is firmly in the middle.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_00]: of his prime years and he will be tapering off within the next two to three so.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: Does the whole thing suck for Browns fans?
- 10:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yep, I wish the Browns are better guys.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_00]: I do.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what else to say.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: I wish we could have won more games with Miles Garrett and we could actually be contenders right now.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_00]: And hopefully with this new young core that we're building, we can be in the future just not write this minute.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 10:53[SPEAKER_00]: That's where the whole thing stands with Miles Garrett this trade and bringing Jared verse over.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to talk about his press conference.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_00]: I think I'll get to that here toward the end of this.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_00]: I got a whole bunch of notes here.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_00]: I want to go through about Jared verse, but I think the big thing to understand going into this is Andrew Barry saw the value in Jared verse as a player.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_00]: And whenever I was hearing the rumors about trading miles Garrett to the Rams, I immediately want to Jared verse in my mind.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_00]: And I even posted on social media saying, OK, get me some first round picks, but get me Jared verse.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_00]: I don't even, like, the picks are secondary.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_00]: I want Jared verse.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_00]: Cause if you're gonna take away our best, first of all, our best player, but he's, I mean, obviously our best edge defender.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_00]: That leaves us with Alex right and Isaiah McGuire and that's it.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_00]: We have no top-end edge players on this team.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_00]: You gotta get one in return.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_00]: And that player for me was obviously Jared verse and Andrew Barry was the exact same way.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_00]: He wanted that good young player.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_00]: I mean guys, this is a dude that's going into his third season.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_00]: And like we said on Monday, that's why this trade feels so weird.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_00]: It is a weird trade because number one, players like Miles Garrett don't usually get dealt.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_00]: But the situation is what it is.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_00]: He's on a bad team or a team that's just not winning consistently.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_00]: He's at a point in his career where he's ready to go win a title.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_00]: And it's weird, it's a weird trade, because you don't see players like Jared Verseverget traded.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_00]: Two years in the league, defensive rookie of the year, two straight probals, an up-and-coming ascending edge defender in this league, with three years of control on his rookie deal, players like that never get moved, ever, but
- 12:51[SPEAKER_00]: The Rams valued Miles Garrett that highly and felt that he was that big of a missing component to their title, dreams, if they went ahead and did it.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't want to do it, but they did.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_00]: So now we got him.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_00]: We got Jared verse.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_00]: Miles Garrett is gone.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_00]: It sucks.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_00]: It is always going to suck.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_00]: You never want to lose that type of player from your team, but he's gone.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_00]: We can be upset about it, we can be this or that, or just say, okay, he's gone.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_00]: He's gone.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_00]: We had a lot of fun when he was here, nine years, almost a decade of Miles Garrett, Hall of Fame career, sat King, set the sack record, gave us a whole lot of things to be excited about on Sundays.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_00]: It was a fun ride.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_00]: He's gone.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_00]: But there's a new fun ride in town, and his name is Jared Vers.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go through this verse as six foot four, 265 pounds, 25 years old he's going to turn 26 this year in November during the season.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_00]: So he was a slightly older rookie when he came into the league back in 2024.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_00]: Why was he an older rookie?
- 14:00[SPEAKER_00]: Vers was part of the COVID red shirt year that most college players experienced during that time span.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_00]: He started college football in the FCS at Albany as a zero star recruit, no FBS offers, no scholarships or anything like that.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_00]: So I want you guys to keep that in mind as we go through this.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_00]: And maybe drop it in the comments.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_00]: You might already know where I'm going with this.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_00]: Who does this also sound like that plays for the Browns right now as well?
- 14:30[SPEAKER_00]: Zero, star, recruit.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_00]: So he registered at Albany as a freshman in 2019.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_00]: And then he was only able to play in four games in 2020 because again, COVID cut the season short.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_00]: So basically he started his college career at an FCS program with two straight,
- 14:50[SPEAKER_00]: Like that, that is a very sucky way to start a college career for an aspiring athlete in football.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_00]: But 2019, like I said, only got to play in four games.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_00]: But in those four games, he showed the ability that we have now witnessed on Sundays with the Rams.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_00]: In those four games, Jared Versa had 22 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and four sacks.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_00]: So Versa didn't really see a full season of college football until his third year at Albany in 2021, he played 11 games, had 52 tackles, 11 and a half TFLs, and 10 and a half sacks.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_00]: He forced to fumble and he earned FCS freshman all American and first team all CAA honors So think about that his third year in college football and he earns FCS freshman all American because he hasn't played yet He was still technically a red shirt freshman even though it was too early on you through third year into college football So anyway
- 15:54[SPEAKER_00]: Versed decides to transfer to Florida State, division one football in 2022.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_00]: And what does he do in that first full season in a major D1 program?
- 16:07[SPEAKER_00]: 48 tackles, 17 tackles for loss and nine sacks.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_00]: He was voted as the team's defensive MVP.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_00]: First team all ACC and was an all American that season.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_00]: And a lot of people, a lot of scouts figured he was going to come out to clear for the NFL and be one of the top edge rusher's potentially be a first round pick after that one season at Florida State.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_00]: But he decided to go back to school one final year because he wanted to be this is from what I've read.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_00]: He wanted to be not maybe a first round pick.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_00]: He wanted to be the edge number one in his draft class.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_00]: So that's why he went back in 2023 to do it again.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_00]: And it was a rinse and repeat season for Jared verse.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_00]: 41 tackles, 12-and-a-half tackles for loss, and nine more sex.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_00]: Once again, the team's defensive MVP, first team all ACC, all American for the second straight season.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_00]: Then, of course, he declared for the draft in 2024.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_00]: He was a first round pick, 19th overall selection, by the Los Angeles Rams.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_00]: First was actually the only first round pick the Rams have made that they made over a nine-year stretch.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_00]: So basically like think about the length of time that we had Miles Garrett nine years on our team.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_00]: That's the amount of time the Rams went without a first round pick except for one.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_00]: And it was Jared verse.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_00]: This episode is sponsored by Kaoshi.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_00]: All right, Browns van, do you know?
- 17:38[SPEAKER_00]: We've all messed around with the sports books before, right?
- 17:41[SPEAKER_00]: And let's be honest, you're always kind of playing into the house.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_00]: But with Kaoshi, it's different.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_00]: You're not betting against some sports book.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_00]: You're trading against other real world people.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_00]: There's no house trying to beat you.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_00]: Kaoshi just runs the marketplace.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_00]: So if you think the public is wrong, like everybody's overreacting to these smoke screens in the draft or sleeping on a prospect, you can literally take the other side of the market.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not just sports either.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_00]: You can trade on other real-world stuff, interest rates, inflation, even wild weather outcomes.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_00]: It works like this, simple yes or no markets, your risk is capped up front and your payout is locked in.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_00]: So if you trust your takes and instincts, and I know you guys do, go check out Cowshin's see what markets are live right now.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_00]: So head over to CalShe.com slash dogs, KAL, SHI.com slash dogs, DAWGS, deposit just $20 and CalShe's going to match you.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to put $20 free into your account.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_00]: That's a great deal to get started.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_00]: So again, calcium.com, slash dogs, $20 match when you deposit $20 into your account.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_00]: So did verse.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_00]: Achieve his goal of being the first Edge Defender.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_00]: First pass rush or off the board in his draft class.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_00]: No layout to lot to drafted at pick 15 to the Indianapolis Colts.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_00]: I believe he was the, yeah, I think I got that right.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_00]: was the first one taken and the Minnesota Vikings took Dallas Turner.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_00]: He's listed his linebacker but I believe he's more of that outside linebacker edge rusher type spot at 17 and then Jared versus obviously at 19.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_00]: But if you go back now, so I always like doing this, especially when the Brown to acquire a new player.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_00]: and see what do scouts and analysts think a year after the draft, two years after the draft, because these media outlets always do, well, let's go redraft the 2020 whatever draft, two years later and how would it go and all this kind of stuff.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_00]: So in I think it was January of 2025, so I would have been right after that 2024 season.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_00]: They did a, I think it was NFL.com did a read draft of the 2024 draft and Jared verse went eighth overall.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_00]: in their redraft basically going back and saying, well, if every team knew what they know now, how would this draft order go?
- 19:54[SPEAKER_00]: And he went eighth overall and was the first defensive player period in the entire draft.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, he won defensive rookie of the year.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_00]: So I mean,
- 20:05[SPEAKER_00]: probably gonna be the top guy off these redraft boards.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_00]: And then, Bleacher Report did one, this past February, so that would be two years removed from the 2024 draft.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_00]: And they had Jaredverse going fifth overall.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_00]: If teams could go back and redraft, knowing what they know now about these players with two years of information, Jaredverse would have been the fifth overall pick.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 20:32[SPEAKER_00]: Now, does that maybe you're like Josh that doesn't really matter who cares about that stuff?
- 20:36[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's fine.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_00]: That's fair.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm just telling you this to reiterate how highly people think of Jared verse as a player.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_00]: That's the main point with all of that.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_00]: Now, here's some more notes on Jaredverse.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure by now a lot of you probably know this.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_00]: You've probably heard, but Jaredverse is an Ohio native.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_00]: He was born in Dayton, Ohio back in 2000.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_00]: Good.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_00]: God, do I feel old?
- 21:03[SPEAKER_00]: Born in 2000, hmm, all right, anyway.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_00]: So more than Dayton grew up in Berwick, Pennsylvania, so in high school, Jared verse played both ways in football as a defensive end on the defensive side and he was a tight end on offense.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_00]: At Central Columbia High School verse earned three straight all Pennsylvania Heartland athletic conference honors.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_00]: He also played basketball.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_00]: In high school again, low PSA parents don't let your kids just hyper focus on one sport.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_00]: They need the skills and the lessons that come from all the different activities.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_00]: So, get them a more well-rounded experience playing sports.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_00]: Jared Vers, not just football, not just basketball.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_00]: He also ran track, ran track, which
- 21:52[SPEAKER_00]: You know, when I was reading about this, I'm trying to picture this six foot five.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_00]: He was probably 250 pounds or something when he was in high school.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_00]: You know, picture in this guy running track, but, you know, then I went and I watched the highlights.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_00]: I watched him, uh, his blocked kick return for a touchdown last season that he had.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, yeah, he could move.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_00]: This kid can run.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_00]: So he was a state champion on the 4 by 400 meter relay team.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_00]: And to go back to another note here, that field goal block that I just mentioned was against the Falcons and Zayn Gonzalez last season.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_00]: Some of you might remember Zayn Gonzalez was once the kicker for the Browns.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_00]: All kinds of little ties out there, you got to love it.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_00]: Now moving forward here, 2024 draft is draft profile gave him a 6.73 grade during the 2024 pre-draft season.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_00]: That was the fifth highest grade in the entire class.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_00]: So offense, defense, quarterbacks, receiver, whatever.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_00]: Because I think Malik neighbors was the number one highest in that class.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_00]: Jaredverse, number five, fifth overall grade a player in the entire class.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_00]: He was obviously the highest graded player of any defensive guy in that draft.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_00]: Now to put that into perspective, this season, the highest graded defensive player in 2026 was David Bailey, who had a 6.78 grade.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_00]: So verse had a 6.73, went 19th overall.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_00]: David Bailey went number two overall with a six point seven eight great so just a few takes higher than verse but again went number two versus 19.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I know the lack of quarterbacks in this class did play a part in some of that but still.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_00]: In 2017 though, let's just keep reality where it is Miles Garrett was graded with a seven point five.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_00]: He was listed before he was ever drafted.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_00]: his prediction, his grade said perennial, all pro player.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_00]: And that, again, was before he was ever even drafted, just as a prospect.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_00]: So he was just on a whole other level.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_00]: There will never be another mile's gear, we're never gonna see another mile's gear.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_00]: But like I've said, Jared Vs is the best of the young crop of edge wrestlers that are currently ascending in the NFL.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm not just saying that to try to make Browns fans feel better about this player that we got like, trust me.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_00]: I've watched, I remember watching playoff games and the Rams play in the late slate and the afternoons and stuff like that.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm watching this kid last two seasons just wreak havoc on offensive line.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_00]: Man, this Jared verse kid is freaking good.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_00]: And I would get a little envious of the Rams.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, no, I know we have Miles Garrett.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_00]: Well, who am I to envy anybody else?
- 24:37[SPEAKER_00]: But,
- 24:39[SPEAKER_00]: I've been wanting for years.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_00]: I've been wanting the Browns to get a good young edd Russia to ascend and kind of be that air apparent future DE1 for the team when Miles Garrett's no longer here or he retires or whatever the case might have been.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_00]: We just could never get that guy.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, man, I want a good young player because I love Miles Garrett.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_00]: He's the best and the lead probably the best to ever do it.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_00]: But he ain't going to be able to do it forever.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_00]: We need to get somebody in here that can take over that role in the future.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm watching this kid play for the Rams like that's the type of dude I wish we had.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_00]: And now we have him.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_00]: So, here are some of the more basic stats for Jared verse 2024, his rookie season.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_00]: He had 66 tackles, 11 TFLs, 4.5 sacks with 18 quarter back hits, two pass breakups, two force fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_00]: He scored a touchdown on a 57-yard scoop and score against the Vikings.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_00]: He was named to the Pro Bowl, which interesting note here in 2024.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_00]: He was actually the only Rams player to make the Pro Bowl that season.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_00]: And obviously, he was the defensive rookie of the year.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, so the Browns now have the last two defensive rookies of the year on their defense with Jared Vers and Carson Swesinger.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, can we maybe make it three in a row with a manual McNeil Warren?
- 26:08[SPEAKER_00]: That'd be fun to watch.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_00]: 2025 Jared verse came back with another fantastic campaign.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_00]: 58 tackles, 11 TFL, seven and a half sacks, 27 quarterback hits, three force fumbles.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_00]: He had that field goal block return for a TD against the Falcons.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_00]: That one was 76 yards.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_00]: This kid can giddy up and freaking go.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_00]: If you go watch that clip, watch that highlight.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think I can play it on the show here, obviously,
- 26:37[SPEAKER_00]: copyright purposes, but he comes through the line, blocks the kick and it has enough athleticism and awareness to spot the ball scoop the ball and go.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_00]: 76 yards for a touchdown.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_00]: So here's the stat that I found interesting when I was looking through everything.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_00]: And I got a whole bunch of stats and other things I want to mention, but first of all here, he had 17 missed tackles as a rookie.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_00]: Now, obviously, he still had a D-roy campaign, but 17 missed tackles, that could be better, right?
- 27:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it can be.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_00]: In 2025, he missed just four tackles.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_00]: He dropped that miss tackle rate from 20.5% clear down to 6.5% in one season.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I posted this yesterday, Blake said it on Monday show, but this is worth looking at again.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_00]: Let's compare.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_00]: Let me bring this up because I got it over here on my other screen.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_00]: I want to compare.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_00]: Jared verse his first two seasons with the first two seasons played by Miles Garrett.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, because I thought that the way Blake laid this out on Monday was really well done.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_00]: You cannot compare Jared verse right now after just two years in the league to Miles Garrett right now after nine.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_00]: Miles Garrett is a perennial all pro, two time defensive player of the year, future Hall of Famer.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_00]: He's already had his Hall of Fame career before this.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_00]: and he's still in his prime.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_00]: Jared versus really just getting going.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_00]: So let's go back and just look, what did Miles Garrett do from in 2017 and 2018 his first two seasons compared to 2024 and 2025 Jared versus first two seasons.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 28:29[SPEAKER_00]: The sack total, obviously 20 and a half sack for Miles Garrett, 12 sack for Jared verse.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_00]: So eight and a half fewer sacks for Jared verse.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_00]: But everything else, and this is the big thing about Jared verse versus Miles Garrett that we really need to be honest about here.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_00]: Jared verse has a super high motor.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_00]: And he plays every single down with
- 28:55[SPEAKER_00]: absolute 100% effort.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_00]: He is an incredible, run defender.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_00]: He has, I've seen so many people say this, but obviously Jake Burns at Brown's film breakdown, his assessment means a little more, because I trust him.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_00]: I work with Jake, and I know what he does over there.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_00]: He talked about how Jared versus bull rush is power rush move is probably the best in the NFL already.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_00]: He's played two years.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_00]: So he wins with a lot of strength and what I've seen a lot of scouts and analysts that talk about with Jared versus is if he can just
- 29:39[SPEAKER_00]: work on his past rush finesse moves a little bit.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_00]: His sack numbers are going to go up because he generates crazy pressures on the quarterback crazy pressure numbers.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_00]: We'll get to the pressure numbers here in a minute.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_00]: They just don't convert to sacks.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_00]: Now, he's also playing on a defensive line with Byron Young and Braden Fisky and some really freaking good players there in Los Angeles.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_00]: So, it's not quite the same situation where, you know, Cleveland, if guys get in a sack, it pretty much has some miles of Garrett, because nobody else is really able to do it in the way, even close to how he does it, but Jared verse generates pressure on the quarterback at a high rate.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_00]: Just doesn't convert them all the time to sacks because, again, young, and his specialty is more power and,
- 30:33[SPEAKER_00]: force and things like that versus just being a straight-up, you know, what I want to say, like a dancer out there.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_00]: You know, he can dip and dive and slide past these tackles so well and he's past rush past rush moves and that's just what he needs to work on.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_00]: And given everything that he's done and his makeup as a person and as a player, I expect him to work on it and into succeed.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_00]: But get back to these stats here.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_00]: Over their first two seasons, Jaredverse 71 total tackles.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_00]: Oh no, I'm sorry, 124 total tackles combined tackles.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_00]: 124 miles Garrett 75.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_00]: Tackle for loss, Jaredverse had 22 miles Garrett had 21.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_00]: QB hits Jaredverse 45 miles Garrett 47.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_00]: Neither one of them had an interception or anything like that.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_00]: Miles Garrett knocked down four passes, verse knocked down three.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_00]: Fumble recoveries, Jared verse two to Miles Garrett.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_00]: One, force fumbles.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_00]: Jared verse five to Miles Garrett four.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_00]: Now this is on sportsreference.com and it's interesting.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_00]: They do this avis so this approximate value, which is their attempt to put like a single number to every player during that whatever span you're looking at.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_00]: So for this two-year span, for each of these players, Jared verse actually got a 22 approximate value, Miles Garrett, they gave him an 18.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_00]: So obviously, Jared versus ability to make tackles and really rack up numbers in that category along with the pressures he's able to generate on the quarterback, it's it's very impressive.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_00]: Again, I guess I got to keep saying this.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_00]: I hate that I feel like I got to say it.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_00]: I am in no way shape or form saying that Jared vs. Is Miles Garrett or will be Miles Garrett?
- 32:31[SPEAKER_00]: Jared vs. even said this yesterday in his press conference.
- 32:33[SPEAKER_00]: He said, I am not here to fill Miles Garrett shoes.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_00]: I am here to be the best version of myself.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_00]: I love that.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_00]: To hear that from a young kid who just had a tumultuous, you know, turn in his career where he thought, hey, he's living in L.A., he's got his best friends that he talked about this.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_00]: He's his best friends out there where the guys on the D line with him, like he hung out with those guys.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_00]: He loved living in L.A., loved the team, everything about the Rams, and then found out, oh, I'm getting traded.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_00]: just did not expect it to happen.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, like I said, because that kind of situation does not happen for players and if his age and his caliber, but, you know, he said, what was his quote yesterday?
- 33:13[SPEAKER_00]: He said, you can either quit or you can either whatever cry about it or you can get back to work and he said, I ain't no quitter.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_00]: I love it.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_00]: I love the kids' mentality and I love the mindset of, I'm not here to replace Miles Garrett.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_00]: I am here to be the best version of me of Jaredverse.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_00]: So a couple other fun stats here to talk about total quarterback pressures since 2024 when Jared vs.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_00]: Enter the league.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_00]: Number one on the list, Micah Parsons with 119 total pressures, miles gear at number two with 109, and Jared vs.
- 33:53[SPEAKER_00]: Number three in the entire NFL with 99.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_00]: So just 10 fewer pressures, then miles gear at 20 fewer pressures than the leader,
- 34:03[SPEAKER_00]: So like I said, he may not be a sack king like those other two guys, but can he get a pressure on the quarterback?
- 34:11[SPEAKER_00]: You better freaking believe it.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, he can't.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_00]: So basically, since he came into league, like I said, already been on par with these guys, his past rush win rate was the 10th best in the entire league over the last two seasons, which is impressive, because that includes being a rookie.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_00]: don't really expect all these rookies to come in and just be that dominant against NFL caliber linemen right off the bat, but Jared Verst definitely was.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_00]: From 2024 to 2025, last two seasons, Jared Verst had 188 total pressures that was the sixth most in the NFL.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_00]: 17% pressure rate, Miles Garrett was at a 17.8%
- 34:54[SPEAKER_00]: 35 run stops the sixth most, 20 quarterback hits which is the second most.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_00]: He had an 8.3% run stop rate and 88.1 pass rush rate and 14 total sacks.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_00]: Good friend of the show now, Derek Brown from Fancy Pros.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_00]: He posted this one among 129 qualifying edge players last year.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_00]: This episode is sponsored by Butcher Box for Pets.

- 37:36[SPEAKER_00]: Again, that's Brownsmerch.com to check out our Browns Gear powered by fanatics.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_00]: So again, I know I've repeated some of those stats and they ranked differently, and it's all based on who you're reading the stats from and where they're getting them from.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_00]: If you're using PFF or stat profiler or some of these other outlets, true value I think was, is it true value?
- 38:01[SPEAKER_00]: I
- 38:03[SPEAKER_00]: whatever.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_00]: These different media outlets that, you know, do the stat tracking and all that.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_00]: They just track them differently.
- 38:10[SPEAKER_00]: They have them ranked differently.
- 38:11[SPEAKER_00]: It's just the way it is.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_00]: So this is a conglomerate of information and statistical output from different sources, but it all leads me to the one point and the only thing that matters is that the Brown's got a freaking damn good
- 38:29[SPEAKER_00]: It sucks losing miles of Garrett guys.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_00]: I hate it.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_00]: I hate it, but you know, if you guys have been watching this show since March, you know I have been saying, rather gingerly because there's some people out there that just they couldn't handle hearing it.
- 38:49[SPEAKER_00]: And that's fine.
- 38:49[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not knocking anybody like I totally understand.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_00]: It's not a fun thing to think about your favorite team trading your favorite player, the best one of the best players in the entire league.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_00]: But I've been telling you guys since March when they moved that bonus date.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_00]: Not saying I never said it was going to happen, but I kept reminding you guys it was very, very possible.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_00]: The reality of trading miles Garrett was real.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_00]: And it came to fruition on Monday and like I said at the top of the show, this trade had been talked about for months.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_00]: And the basic framework and foundation for the trade had probably already been in place since March.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, the the browns, it sucks guys.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_00]: It does.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_00]: It sucks that the browns aren't better.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_00]: Like I said earlier.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_00]: But
- 39:41[SPEAKER_00]: When you swing and miss as badly as you did on to Sean Watson and really crippled your team for multiple seasons, the way they've rebounded and restarted this team with not just
- 40:09[SPEAKER_00]: Good football players, good young guys.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_00]: It's encouraging.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_00]: It's encouraging.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's encouraging.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_00]: You've got to be encouraged despite losing miles, Garrett.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_00]: He was in, you know, you gotta almost look at it like a stock market.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_00]: You've got an asset, right?
- 40:27[SPEAKER_00]: That is that it's absolute highest value.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_00]: This asset will not go any higher in value.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_00]: It's also not helping your portfolio right now.
- 40:40[SPEAKER_00]: So you can just hang on to it because you're like, oh, it's just such a highly valued asset.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_00]: I love this one.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_00]: It's not helping you.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_00]: Or you can trade it.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_00]: Get a whole bunch of stuff for it to help strengthen your portfolio and hopefully help it grow more.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_00]: over the next year or two.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_00]: So, I don't know, guys.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_00]: It's just kind of the way I'm looking at it.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_00]: It was kind of a no-brainer.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_00]: And again, timelines didn't match up, but getting Jaredverse back in the deal for me was huge, huge, huge, huge.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_00]: And I still cannot get over the people out there that are upset that we didn't get at 2028 or 2029 first round pick and all this stuff.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm just like, I cannot believe you would rather have some unknown random draft pick two years from now.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_00]: Instead of a proven known ascending stud now, the hell wouldn't you want that?
- 41:44[SPEAKER_00]: Close my mind.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_00]: But we got a good player in return.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_00]: Four miles, Garrett, plus three, draft picks on top of it.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_00]: One of them being a first round pick.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_00]: And people wanted the 20, 20, eight, first round pick.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_00]: Well, we got their second round pick.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_00]: And again, do the Rams project to be Super Bowl favorites?
- 42:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I believe so.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_00]: I would definitely be putting my money on them if I was betting on anybody to win the Super Bowl here next year.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_00]: Remember, I said this the other night, you know, when the Falcons traded their future, what was it in 2024?
- 42:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was 2024.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_00]: No, sorry, it's 2025 and 2025, if they traded their 2026 first round pick to the Rams to get, um, wherever the edge rush or I came to think of his name now, um, in the draft that year.
- 42:36[SPEAKER_00]: They were expecting to be good.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_00]: You know, they were expecting to be a playoff team.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_00]: And, okay, well, they can have next year's first Trump pick because it doesn't be a late-round pick.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, we need this address right now.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_00]: Well, then the Falcons took a giant dump on the season and ended up having the 13th overall pick.
- 42:53[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, but the Rams had it.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_00]: So, you just never know.
- 42:57[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you're one Matthew Stafford injury away from having a top 15 pick.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_00]: Or, you know, something in that range.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_00]: Now, wishing for injury, not who I'm just telling you the reality of the NFL.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_00]: You just never know what you have.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_00]: That's why future draft picks are nice to it.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_00]: Nice to acquire, but you don't know what they're gonna be.
- 43:18[SPEAKER_00]: They can be late.
- 43:18[SPEAKER_00]: They can be early, whatever.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_00]: But you can get a good player right now that you know.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_00]: You don't have to guess.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_00]: You don't have to hope he develops into some guy that's gonna be good for you to, you know.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_00]: He's good.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_00]: Good job, Andrew Barry, for getting chair adverse.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_00]: I gotta give you that for sure.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_00]: So real quick, last couple of things I went over here to PFF, just to pull up some stuff, 81.3 overall.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_00]: Pass Rush grade for Jared verse.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_00]: That was the 14th highest in the entire league.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_00]: So he's a top 15 guy in that category.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_00]: Um, as far as like over here on PFF is when pass Rush win rate.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see where is Jared verse.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_00]: They've got him at a 16.1% your leader last year was Will Anderson Jr. at 25.5 miles Garrett at 24.6.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_00]: So Jared Verst passed without rush win rate a little bit lower, but I mean still this is a what would that put him a 16th, 16th best then when you sort by like cuby hits 27 number one Jared Verst with like I said 27 cuby hits
- 44:25[SPEAKER_00]: Hurries, let's see, he had 64, which was tied for third most with 8 in Hutchinson.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_00]: Pressures, that's what I want to do.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_00]: I just want to get to total, there.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_00]: It is total pressures.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_00]: Jared Vers 100, total pressures, tied for second with 8 in Hutchinson and Josh Heinz Allen.
- 44:45[SPEAKER_00]: The only guy higher was Will Anderson with 102.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_00]: He had Miles Garrett at 84 total pressures.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_00]: in 2025, again, Jaredverse number two with 100.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_00]: So the impact that Miles Garrett brought to the defense and put, you know, though the way offense is at the game plan specifically for him, all that kind of stuff, you can't replace that.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_00]: That's that's one of one type stuff right there.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_00]: But did we get somebody that's going to be collapsing pockets and putting the fear of God and quarterback size?
- 45:23[SPEAKER_00]: You better believe it.
- 45:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, we did.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_00]: So, very excited about getting Jared Versailles, after going through everything, I was already like, I already love the guy.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_00]: I just from watching him, sparingly sporadically.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_00]: Like, just when the Rams were on, I'd watch and say, damn, this Jared Versailles kid is freaking good.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_00]: Well, now I go back through, look at the stats and all the information.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, and to go back to the zero-star recruit thing, one line before I forgot about it.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_00]: Carson Swesinger, right?
- 45:51[SPEAKER_00]: Zero Star recruit, walk on at UCLA, worked his way up to becoming an all-American and leading the nation in tackles and all that kind of stuff to be in defensive rookie of the year.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_00]: Pretty interesting that he's the defensive rookie of the year right after the last defensive rookie of the year was also a zero star recruit, worked his way up into D1, got himself trapped in the first round, all that kind of stuff.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_00]: You've got two guys here in Carson, Swesinger, and Jared Vers, who are workers.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_00]: They are going to go out every day.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to work their asses off.
- 46:30[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to give you 110% of whatever they got left in the tank at all times.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm very excited to see what the future holds for this Brown's defense, for this Brown's team.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_00]: We got, you know, OTAs just wrapped up the other day.
- 46:46[SPEAKER_00]: I'm kind of running out of some time here.
- 46:47[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to go too long.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_00]: But I'll hit you guys up with the OTA report from this week.
- 46:51[SPEAKER_00]: We'll do an episode here, maybe over the weekend sometime.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_00]: Recap and OTAs, they're obviously done now.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_00]: And next week will be mandatory.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_00]: Many camp followed by the summer break, where we don't see anybody or get any NFL news until training camp opens toward the end of July.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_00]: But,
- 47:10[SPEAKER_00]: It's been a fun spring, it's been a fun off season, you know, as as a Browns fan, you have to roll with the punches.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_00]: You got to realize that until this team actually enters a true.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_00]: go try to win it all now type of window, these types of moves, unfortunately, are always on the table and always possible.
- 47:29[SPEAKER_00]: So for everybody, again, I'm not trying to talk down to anybody, but anybody out there listening, watching that you were the mindset of, the Browns would never trade Miles Garrett, it's impossible.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_00]: They'd be stupid to do it.
- 47:40[SPEAKER_00]: They would never do it.
- 47:41[SPEAKER_00]: It's never going to happen.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_00]: You're
- 47:43[SPEAKER_00]: Go on, Brad, I know it was you, buddy.
- 47:46[SPEAKER_00]: You all the time, man, you would always say, oh, this is just rage bait, you know, bull crap, anytime anybody, not just us, but anytime anybody would talk about.
- 47:54[SPEAKER_00]: I see you going back and forth with Ken Carman.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_00]: Don't think I don't see you, Brad.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_00]: I see you, buddy.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_00]: Going back and forth with Ken Carman on Twitter about rage baiting everybody with these miles Garrett trade rumors, try to tell you guys.
- 48:06[SPEAKER_00]: Try to tell you guys, it wasn't rage bait.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't click bait.
- 48:10[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't just trying to create content
- 48:14[SPEAKER_00]: It was, this is a real situation, and we all need to be prepared if it happens.
- 48:20[SPEAKER_00]: So, I love you guys.
- 48:22[SPEAKER_00]: I appreciate you tuning in.

- 48:34[SPEAKER_00]: Do you still feel like it wasn't enough?
- 48:36[SPEAKER_00]: Do you still feel like we shouldn't have moved him at all?
