- 0:04SPEAKER_07: Well, hey everybody, welcome to yet another exciting episode of the Steve and Jeff Show.
- 0:09SPEAKER_07: I'm Steve.
- 0:10SPEAKER_07: And he's Jeff.
- 0:12SPEAKER_08: How's it going, Steve?
- 0:13SPEAKER_08: Oh, it's going to be I couldn't help it.
- 0:15SPEAKER_08: I had to go back to the crutch.
- 0:16SPEAKER_08: I just couldn't stay away.
- 0:18SPEAKER_07: I know change is hard.
- 0:20SPEAKER_07: Change is just so hard.
- 0:21SPEAKER_07: I know.
- 0:21SPEAKER_07: It's just, you know, it's hard to remember when you forget, when you're stressed, when you're on the spot, you go back to what you always knew.
- 0:29SPEAKER_07: The comfortable, the familiar.
- 0:31SPEAKER_08: It felt good too.
- 0:32SPEAKER_07: The secure, the rut, the usual, the well-worn path.
- 0:37SPEAKER_07: That's what we always go back to, Jeff.
- 0:39SPEAKER_07: I tell you, you know, and gosh.
- 0:41SPEAKER_08: I mean, it was it was done because it works.
- 0:44SPEAKER_07: Yes, that's exactly so it works so well that we just go back to it.
- 0:49SPEAKER_07: We just keep doing it.
- 0:50SPEAKER_07: So, how are you doing there, Steve?
- 0:52SPEAKER_07: I've been doing, I've been looking into some of some science.
- 0:55SPEAKER_07: You know how we've had a lot of science people on the show, but I've been looking into some of the science involved in really catching that MMA guy.
- 1:02SPEAKER_08: And well, you know, you know, Steve, we've had the best collection of advertisers that I could ever even imagine.
- 1:09SPEAKER_08: And we owe them such a big thank you for just you, they add stuff to the show, don't you think?
- 1:15SPEAKER_08: Even though they're not like in the show.
- 1:16SPEAKER_07: I am so glad you brought that up, Jeff, because you know, we are coming up to our one-year anniversary.
- 1:22SPEAKER_07: See, I didn't really keep track of the dates, but it's around here.
- 1:26SPEAKER_07: So it's went in the month.
- 1:28SPEAKER_07: Was it last year?
- 1:29unknown: Yeah.
- 1:30SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:30SPEAKER_07: I think so.
- 1:31SPEAKER_07: I don't know.
- 1:31SPEAKER_07: It was a year and it was around this time of year.
- 1:34SPEAKER_07: I but but I digress.
- 1:35SPEAKER_07: But the only reason we are still here is these beautiful sponsors, these wonderful sponsors.
- 1:42SPEAKER_07: And I, you know, we just we just cannot say enough good about these sponsors, Jeff.
- 1:47SPEAKER_07: They've made us what we are.
- 1:48SPEAKER_08: I agree.
- 1:49SPEAKER_08: And you know, obviously there's a separation between what the show is and the commercials, but some the commercials add so much to the show, and sometimes they seem like they're they're even a part of the show.
- 2:01SPEAKER_07: And sometimes we in some of the shows we have done like they used to do in early television or in radio.
- 2:06SPEAKER_07: We've just done the commercial just as part of the show.
- 2:09SPEAKER_07: We just talked through it.
- 2:10SPEAKER_08: And that wasn't even on purpose, Steve.
- 2:12SPEAKER_08: That just happened.
- 2:13SPEAKER_07: No, the tape failed.
- 2:14SPEAKER_07: I mean, the engineer, you know, I said, Oh, I can't find it.
- 2:17SPEAKER_07: Yeah, you can, yeah, he found it.
- 2:19SPEAKER_07: I agree.
- 2:20SPEAKER_07: Plus, it's nothing, what's on tape anymore?
- 2:22SPEAKER_07: Tape.
- 2:23SPEAKER_07: That's something you use to tear paper.
- 2:25SPEAKER_07: Nothing's on tape anymore.
- 2:26SPEAKER_08: So big shout out to them before we start our show.
- 2:30SPEAKER_07: And absolutely, you know, this weekend, this past weekend, you know, we're just we're just kind of into the new week.
- 2:35SPEAKER_07: Went back to church, and uh, you know, you know, the attendance really uh really hasn't picked up.
- 2:41SPEAKER_08: Religion's a tough thing, Steve.
- 2:42SPEAKER_08: You know, I mean you you have to have a really clear message for people, young kids nowadays.
- 2:48SPEAKER_08: Yeah, you think I think it's gotta be clear to believe what they believed before.
- 2:51SPEAKER_07: It's well, I think it's gotta be clear, but I think it's it's also gotta be interesting and unique and dynamic.
- 2:57SPEAKER_07: You know, I just keep going back to those great drag race commercials that we used to listen to and WLS when we were kids, you know.
- 3:04SPEAKER_07: Yes.
- 3:05SPEAKER_07: They talk about the racetracks and you know US 30 drag strip.
- 3:09SPEAKER_07: Oh gosh, and I speedway.
- 3:11SPEAKER_07: Remember those?
- 3:12SPEAKER_08: Oh, those were and I'd hear those things, Steve, and I would literally want to be a race car driver after hearing hearing those commercials.
- 3:19SPEAKER_08: They were that powerful.
- 3:20SPEAKER_08: Yeah, those are like the heyday of advertising.
- 3:23SPEAKER_07: I mean, I remember listening to those, and I would I would say to my dad, I said, Dad, let's go up to Union Grove, Wisconsin, where they're doing all this racing.
- 3:32SPEAKER_07: He looked at me and said, What are you nuts?
- 3:34SPEAKER_07: And then mowed the lawn or something.
- 3:35SPEAKER_08: I don't know, you know, but we know that.
- 3:37SPEAKER_08: So do you think there's uh any religions out there, any anybody doing anything that's cool and exciting these days?
- 3:44SPEAKER_07: You know, that one sponsor that we had, it was a public service announcement.
- 3:48SPEAKER_07: And so it's not like we even made any money off of it, Jeff.
- 3:51SPEAKER_07: It's just a public service.
- 3:53SPEAKER_07: We were doing it for the good of the community, the good of the community organizations.
- 3:57SPEAKER_07: They ran that commercial that I thought was a beautiful message.
- 4:01SPEAKER_07: Now, maybe which commercial was that, Steve?
- 4:03SPEAKER_07: Oh, Jeff.
- 4:04SPEAKER_07: Let me just play it for you, okay?
- 4:06SPEAKER_07: Okay, good.
- 4:08SPEAKER_06: Sunday, Sunday, Sunday, Sunday, it's smoking US 30 Cathedral.
- 4:12SPEAKER_07: Watch the holiest folks in the country get together for a monster Sunday service.
- 4:16SPEAKER_07: From Detroit, Don the Deacon Allen and his microfield funny car.
- 4:20SPEAKER_07: From Allentown, Pennsylvania, the Lehigh legend Lee Vale and his dual exhaust twin can dragster.
- 4:24SPEAKER_06: From Chicago, see the Shy Town Hustler stomp the gas metal on his 457 Dodge Challenger.
- 4:29SPEAKER_06: From Louisville, Mike the Mun Senior Mitchell and his custom Chrome Chevy I Rocket.
- 4:33SPEAKER_07: And of course, from the Archdiocese of Omaha, Big Daddy Father Frank Kicks and his bread and winefield pots attraction poke mobile.
- 4:39SPEAKER_07: If you only go to church once this year, this is the one.
- 4:43SPEAKER_07: Confession time trials at night, racing at ten, admission, just one little dollar in the collection plate.
- 4:48SPEAKER_07: Speed thrills, folks.
- 4:49SPEAKER_07: So get your thrills Sunday, Sunday, Sunday at Smoking US 30 Cathedral, where the great ones pray.
- 4:56SPEAKER_07: Pray.
- 4:57SPEAKER_07: Pray.
- 5:02SPEAKER_07: Every time I hear that, it makes me want to go back to church.
- 5:06SPEAKER_08: Well, you're absolutely right.
- 5:07SPEAKER_08: So you used to go drag racing at night when you were growing up.
- 5:12SPEAKER_08: Is that what you would do?
- 5:12SPEAKER_08: You would go see the stuff.
- 5:14SPEAKER_08: Uh do they even have that anymore?
- 5:16SPEAKER_08: You know, because I I'm com I'm actually coming, you know, to the area, you know, because I spent part of my time in Chicago, and you know, I'll probably be over on the council bluff side, but you know, yeah, I'm looking if there's a drag race or if there's something fun and exciting.
- 5:32SPEAKER_08: You Steve, you've been here long enough to know.
- 5:34SPEAKER_07: Well, now, Jeff, you gotta be careful because these days are not as simple as when we were kids.
- 5:39SPEAKER_07: You know, these days, a lot of places want to ban those drag races, you know.
- 5:44SPEAKER_07: They want to just throw them out, they want to make it so you can't go to a drace.
- 5:48SPEAKER_07: You know what I'm saying?
- 5:49SPEAKER_07: You can't watch somebody burn an entire tank of gas in 30 seconds.
- 5:53SPEAKER_07: I mean, what's wrong with those?
- 5:54SPEAKER_07: I mean, why why why should we prevent kids from experiencing that joy?
- 5:59SPEAKER_07: That's just exciting, Jeff.
- 6:01SPEAKER_07: I agree.
- 6:02SPEAKER_08: And I it's kind of it was kind of woke.
- 6:05SPEAKER_08: I don't know if that's the right term.
- 6:06SPEAKER_08: I hear that word around used a lot, but I think it was woke before it was woke before they were awoke.
- 6:12SPEAKER_07: You know what I mean?
- 6:13SPEAKER_07: It was yeah, it was it was out there before there was a there to be out, and Jeff, you know, and Council Bluffs, I don't know, you know, they got some they do some strange things over there.
- 6:23SPEAKER_07: I they might be looking to ban those drag races, but then again, that might be a big tourist atom.
- 6:29SPEAKER_07: You know, Jeff, I'm glad you asked because one of our wonderful sponsors, in fact, is a show that tells people all about what they can do in Council Bluffs.
- 6:39SPEAKER_07: I could describe it, but let me just play it.
- 6:42SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 6:44SPEAKER_07: If you're in the Omaha Metro and love the nightlife, come on across the Missouri River to experience a Metro nightlife you'll never forget.
- 6:53SPEAKER_07: Hello, I'm Denke Street Matter, your host for Council Bluffs After Dark, coming to you every night, all night, on public access cable channel 617.
- 7:04SPEAKER_07: Each night we show you the best dives to enjoy the vibrant and heart-challenging nightlife in the Jewel of Western Iowa, and we bring you the people making Council Bluffs the magic place it is.
- 7:15SPEAKER_07: We have more casinos and strip clubs than any other city in our region.
- 7:20SPEAKER_07: We have air that is more than 1% crystal math.
- 7:24SPEAKER_07: Maybe best of all, we have the O Face Bar, a bar rescue reject where you can stagger in and take your chances.
- 7:31SPEAKER_07: We'll show you how to make sure you get a clean glass.
- 7:34SPEAKER_07: Plus, we answer your burning Council Bluffs questions like why did the Oregon and California settlers, the Mormons, the Railroads, and Lewis and Clark all dash out of town?
- 7:44SPEAKER_07: Or what is that metal junk on that bridge?
- 7:47SPEAKER_07: We'll tell you.
- 7:48SPEAKER_07: So blow the meth smell away and join us every night, all night, on Council Bluffs After Dark.
- 7:54SPEAKER_07: We may be high crime, but we'll show you a high time.
- 8:03SPEAKER_07: Ah, Jeff, you know, I almost never say this, but I almost want to go to Council Bluffs now.
- 8:08SPEAKER_07: I'm I I can't believe I'm saying it.
- 8:11SPEAKER_07: The words are coming out, but I'm it's like I'm hearing something that's I don't know.
- 8:14SPEAKER_08: Steve, the other thing is I didn't realize after a year of doing this how many sponsors we have that I had forgotten about.
- 8:21SPEAKER_07: Haven't gone over to Council Bluffs after dark, but I have watched that show.
- 8:25SPEAKER_07: And you know, I'll give you a full report.
- 8:27SPEAKER_07: I wake up at 2 3 in the morning and I I have some trouble going back to sleep.
- 8:30SPEAKER_07: I'll flip it on because it's on all night, every night, you know.
- 8:33SPEAKER_07: And it's yeah, kind of like the living theater back in the 60s.
- 8:37SPEAKER_07: You just watch people sit and read magazines.
- 8:39SPEAKER_07: It's that's kind of what it's like most of the time.
- 8:41SPEAKER_07: But there are some high points, they get a shooting every now and then, they can't, it's all kinds of weird stuff.
- 8:47SPEAKER_07: I mean, I just it's blossom.
- 8:49SPEAKER_08: Let's not go, let's not go promising things.
- 8:51SPEAKER_08: No, I know that we can't deliver because you know there's no guarantee.
- 8:56SPEAKER_07: I can't threaten you with a good time there, but I think you'll have one.
- 9:00SPEAKER_07: Speaking of good times and feeling good, Jeff, you know, we have had so many good pharmaceutical sponsors over this year.
- 9:09SPEAKER_08: You know, Steve.
- 9:10SPEAKER_07: Well, yeah, it's near and dear, near and dear to you, I'm sure.
- 9:13SPEAKER_07: Thinly veiled.
- 9:14SPEAKER_07: It's really all been all been kind of driven by those good people at PharmaBrute.
- 9:20SPEAKER_07: They have put together some really very helpful compounds and medicines and drugs.
- 9:27SPEAKER_08: You're totally right, Steve.
- 9:29SPEAKER_08: You you know, and Steve, to be honest, here's my endorsement.
- 9:32SPEAKER_08: If I wasn't using illegal drugs, I would be buying from them.
- 9:37SPEAKER_08: Oh, absolutely.
- 9:38SPEAKER_08: Absolutely.
- 9:39SPEAKER_07: Yeah, and in those states where they're banning drag drugs, you can go to the pharma brute and they will pharma brute will take care of you.
- 9:47SPEAKER_07: Pharma Brute is your connection, it's your pusher, it will get you where you want to go.
- 9:53SPEAKER_08: That reminds me to contact them because I do need a new shipment.
- 9:57SPEAKER_08: Uh do we have their contact information?
- 9:59SPEAKER_07: You know, Jeff, while we're talking about them, let's maybe, you know, one of those one of those medications I think really made a lot of sense to me.
- 10:09SPEAKER_07: That one permace.
- 10:11SPEAKER_07: You know, not that I would need that because you know, my mom and I we have an understanding, but I think it's a really important pill that could do a lot of good out there.
- 10:20SPEAKER_07: So, Jeff, let me uh rather than I think their contact info is in this commercial.
- 10:24SPEAKER_07: Let me let me just play.
- 10:25SPEAKER_07: Okay, good.
- 10:29SPEAKER_07: Are you still wasting all your time looking for a partner with nothing to show for it?
- 10:34SPEAKER_07: Do you envy your asexual friends because their days are not consumed by thoughts of sex?
- 10:40SPEAKER_07: You can ease the pain of trying to hook up with a simple pill we call perma-ace.
- 10:45SPEAKER_07: Permaace takes away your desire to hook up.
- 10:49SPEAKER_07: It frees up your time and your mind so you can finally spend time on self-improvement.
- 10:55SPEAKER_07: Become a tennis star, a martial arts expert, even a commercial voiceover professional.
- 11:01SPEAKER_07: Wait.
- 11:02SPEAKER_07: Uh anyway, listen to some of these satisfied customers.
- 11:06SPEAKER_06: My job is so demanding that I never had time for dating.
- 11:09SPEAKER_06: I used to hate that, but now permace lets me work 24-7 without a thought about dating.
- 11:15SPEAKER_06: I'm due for promotion soon.
- 11:17SPEAKER_06: Thanks, Permace.
- 11:18SPEAKER_06: My spouse was so demanding.
- 11:21SPEAKER_07: I used to resent him, but now we both take permace and we get along just fine.
- 11:26SPEAKER_07: I used to hate everyone I saw out on dates.
- 11:29SPEAKER_07: I still do, but with permace, it's now more of a general dislike.
- 11:34SPEAKER_07: Find out for yourself.
- 11:36SPEAKER_07: Take the 42-day permace challenge.
- 11:39SPEAKER_07: Use permace every day for six weeks, and if you still feel a libido, we'll send you your money back.
- 11:46SPEAKER_07: So what do you have to lose other than a string of dreadful dates and hours wasted thinking about sex?
- 11:52SPEAKER_07: Set your mind and your time free with permace.
- 11:56SPEAKER_07: Use of permease by some persons can cause a dangerous condition called automotive dysphagia.
- 12:01SPEAKER_07: Stop use of the product if you feel a physical attraction to mid-60s cars.
- 12:05SPEAKER_07: Do not use if you are currently on MOLLE because, come on.
- 12:09SPEAKER_07: Possible side effects include sudden death, which could be a permanent condition.
- 12:13SPEAKER_07: Some patients in clinical studies developed an obsession with baking or with PBS documentaries.
- 12:19SPEAKER_07: Not recommended for patients over 60.
- 12:21SPEAKER_07: You know why, right?
- 12:23SPEAKER_07: Permace may be less effective if used in combination with THC and smooth jazz.
- 12:28SPEAKER_07: So try permace and take hooking up worries off the hook.
- 12:38SPEAKER_07: You know, that is such a worry connecting with who you want to connect with.
- 12:42SPEAKER_07: You know, that's why there's so many of these dating services out there because it's just so hard for people.
- 12:47SPEAKER_08: You and I have had no luck, and granted we are married.
- 12:50SPEAKER_08: Yeah, but but still, we haven't had a lot of luck.
- 12:53SPEAKER_08: I know I haven't.
- 12:54SPEAKER_08: I don't know about you, Steve, at this point.
- 12:57SPEAKER_08: And I maybe you did have a little luck.
- 12:59SPEAKER_07: Was there somebody that there was well Meg Meg is back in Florida and I I think that's uh I think it's a goner, Jeff.
- 13:07SPEAKER_07: I I really do.
- 13:08SPEAKER_07: All those days in the lunch line lost.
- 13:12SPEAKER_07: Driving around probably in a pickup truck with but she can't go watch a drag race down there, I'll bet you're in Florida, you know.
- 13:20SPEAKER_07: I bet.
- 13:21SPEAKER_07: So there, Meg.
- 13:24SPEAKER_08: Right.
- 13:24SPEAKER_08: Dating is really tough.
- 13:26SPEAKER_08: I don't I don't envy people who have to go through it.
- 13:29SPEAKER_07: No, it's so difficult.
- 13:30SPEAKER_07: And we've had some dating services advertise on our show.
- 13:35SPEAKER_08: Well, wait, wait, are you are you counting Dr.
- 13:38SPEAKER_08: Reinerstein because he does the cosmetic surgery?
- 13:41SPEAKER_08: Is that the dating thing you're talking about?
- 13:43SPEAKER_08: Because that does have some value.
- 13:45SPEAKER_08: You know, you get your face redone.
- 13:47SPEAKER_08: Right.
- 13:47SPEAKER_08: That can really make a difference.
- 13:48SPEAKER_07: Well, it's more like carbon 14 dating, but which is which is kind of that's illegal in a couple of states too.
- 13:54SPEAKER_07: But and and don't try that in Montana, they'll throw you right out.
- 13:57SPEAKER_07: But I digress.
- 13:59SPEAKER_07: But you know, the dating services are like, you know, where they match people up and you go and you say, Hey, I'd like to meet this one, like to meet that one, and does well, we've had a couple of really good dating services advertised with us, you know, that one for just for guys, because you know, most of these dating services are trying to attract women because guys, of course, they'll go, but they need women because you know, if the guys go and there are no women, the guys will go away.
- 14:22SPEAKER_07: So, you know, one of these was really pitch two guys.
- 14:25SPEAKER_08: I just you know what was the name of it?
- 14:28SPEAKER_07: Fumble the dating ad for men.
- 14:29SPEAKER_08: Yeah, definitely a guy term, right?
- 14:32SPEAKER_07: Oh, yeah.
- 14:32SPEAKER_07: Oh, and it's gosh, Jeff, and it it's such a bouncy little ad.
- 14:35SPEAKER_07: You know what?
- 14:36SPEAKER_07: I just I'd like to just play that.
- 14:38SPEAKER_07: You know, why don't we just why don't we just play it?
- 14:40SPEAKER_07: Me too.
- 14:42SPEAKER_06: Men, are the women you meet on dating services into things like yoga or keto diets?
- 14:49SPEAKER_06: Are you tired of paying for a whole date and not even getting a first down?
- 14:54SPEAKER_06: Then try Fumble, the dating service for us guys.
- 14:58SPEAKER_06: With Fumble, you can find a woman with just the right backfield, and you'll never have to worry about being called for holding.
- 15:06SPEAKER_06: We screen every babe carefully, so you can be sure there are no ineligible receivers on our team.
- 15:12SPEAKER_06: Quit riding the bench.
- 15:14SPEAKER_06: Join the team on Fumble.
- 15:16SPEAKER_06: With Fumble, you'll always hold on to the balls.
- 15:21SPEAKER_07: And Jeff, not only Fumble, but we also had a dating service that can expand your possibilities.
- 15:29SPEAKER_07: Because, you know, there are so many different specific dating services.
- 15:32SPEAKER_07: Like there's a Christian dating service, there's a Jewish dating service, there's the overweight accountants with fuzzy hair dating service, there's uh you know, there's all kinds of stuff.
- 15:43SPEAKER_07: But this one expands it where no one else has expanded it before.
- 15:49SPEAKER_07: This one in a different part of the body, or oh, oh, even better.
- 15:53SPEAKER_07: This takes time out of the equation.
- 15:56SPEAKER_07: This expands it to people living and dead.
- 15:59SPEAKER_07: You remember that one?
- 16:00SPEAKER_08: I would give anything to be able to touch an angel, a relative, uh, you know, somebody you know, somebody special.
- 16:09SPEAKER_07: Oh, well, Jeff, we're we're gonna get to that one.
- 16:12SPEAKER_07: I'm glad you said be touched by an angel, because we are gonna get to that one.
- 16:17SPEAKER_07: But I before we do, this my mom actually used this one.
- 16:20SPEAKER_07: Remember, she she was gonna date uh Hittite or something, and you know, yes, I do remember.
- 16:26SPEAKER_07: And the Hittite wound up he was a stalker, and it just you know, it didn't work out, but it wasn't their fault.
- 16:31SPEAKER_07: It was, you know, it can happen to anybody, it wasn't the company, yeah.
- 16:35SPEAKER_07: Right?
- 16:36SPEAKER_07: But uh, it's okay, Reaper.
- 16:38SPEAKER_07: They are blazing new trails, and Jeff, I I think we should just play their commercial.
- 16:43SPEAKER_07: Yeah, let's hear it.
- 16:44SPEAKER_07: Let's do it.
- 16:47SPEAKER_07: Have you tried all the dating services but still not found your perfect match?
- 16:52SPEAKER_07: Maybe your perfect match lived thousands of years ago.
- 16:56SPEAKER_07: Billions of perfect matches have died over the millennia, but should that prevent you from finding true happiness now?
- 17:03SPEAKER_07: We don't think so.
- 17:04SPEAKER_07: At OK Reaper, you can choose your perfect match from literally tens of billions of people from all eras and places, living and dead.
- 17:13SPEAKER_06: We've got Hittites, we've got Phoenicians, we've got Aztecs, no Viagra needed for our Iron Age matches, and Nefertiti had many lovely handmaids, all of them available on OK Reaper.

- 17:42SPEAKER_06: So put the romance back into Necromance.
- 17:45SPEAKER_06: Point your planchette to OKReaper.com and find a hauntingly good match.
- 17:58SPEAKER_07: Now I'm thinking the Aztecs, they have the best parties.
- 18:01SPEAKER_07: Oh my god.
- 18:02SPEAKER_08: You're absolutely right.
- 18:03SPEAKER_08: When you were talking about dating services, I thought you were talking about like Dr.
- 18:06SPEAKER_08: Reinerstein, you know, who performed the surgery on me, you know, to give me a new nose.
- 18:12SPEAKER_08: And again, I'm married, so I'm probably not gonna be doing a lot of dating, you know, but some, you know, even with your wife, you won't do that.
- 18:19SPEAKER_08: Well, yeah.
- 18:20SPEAKER_08: And and so I'm married.
- 18:23SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I am married, yeah, yeah.
- 18:24SPEAKER_08: That nose has just changed my life.
- 18:26SPEAKER_08: I just can't go anywhere without people noticing it.
- 18:28SPEAKER_07: And the good doctor, he was a guest on the show a couple of times, and he just he did a uh just a really nice, well, sort of a nice job on your nose short term, long term.
- 18:40SPEAKER_08: It was okay, but uh given where it was done, and you know, he can only do so much with what he works with, right?
- 18:47SPEAKER_08: And so so yeah, so I don't think he can be blamed for that.
- 18:50SPEAKER_08: I feel bad because we haven't really talked a lot about him since didn't we have another guest on that had an issue with him that maybe he hard to get a hold of?
- 18:59SPEAKER_08: One of one of our call-ins, one of our listener email shows, yes, right, they had a problem with him, but yeah, so we haven't really connected, but you know, I think he's he's a great guy, and uh well, and I think we should revisit that.
- 19:10SPEAKER_07: I think we should.
- 19:11SPEAKER_07: And while he was here on one of those shows, we did a commercial just kind of like old time TV.
- 19:17SPEAKER_07: We just did it live on the show.
- 19:19SPEAKER_07: And you know, Jeff, I think I just for old time's sake, you know, the doc is kind of on the lamb now, hard to find.
- 19:27SPEAKER_07: I think he's I think he's running away from something, yeah.
- 19:29SPEAKER_07: Not sure what.
- 19:30SPEAKER_07: But I think just for old time's sake, let's just let's just play it, just for for the doc.
- 19:35SPEAKER_08: Sounds good.
- 19:36SPEAKER_04: Hello, I'm plastic surgeon Will Dr.
- 19:38SPEAKER_04: Will Rhinostein, and I make you look better.
- 19:41SPEAKER_04: Let's face it.
- 19:42SPEAKER_04: Good looking people have more fun, they have better looking friends, they get better tables in restaurants.
- 19:47SPEAKER_04: It's just a fact.
- 19:48SPEAKER_04: So why not be good looking?
- 19:50SPEAKER_04: I can get you a table by the window, whether you need a new nose, smaller love handles, or one of the many designer handcrafted breast documentation.
- 19:58SPEAKER_04: Eight out of ten Rhinostein patients are no longer upset about their plastic surgery.
- 20:03SPEAKER_04: Need more than one thing done to make you look better?
- 20:05SPEAKER_04: With the Rhinostein bundle, you can have as many changes as you can stand for one price, which some consider low.
- 20:12SPEAKER_04: And you can have confidence in my work.
- 20:14SPEAKER_04: I graduated near the top of my master's in fine arts class.
- 20:18SPEAKER_04: Many say that I put the arts in surgical arts.
- 20:22SPEAKER_04: I was accepted into the American Board of Surgery for a while, and I was the first one to take grafting beyond skin and into money.
- 20:30SPEAKER_04: Speaking of money, don't worry about it.
- 20:31SPEAKER_04: I accept any insurance that accepts me, and I can provide easy financing at non-competitive rates with uh User's Bank of New Jersey.
- 20:39SPEAKER_04: Certain conditions may apply.
- 20:40SPEAKER_04: So make the decision to have that excision, lose those wrinkles, get the nose of your favorite celebrity or the entire face of your face off procedure.
- 20:50SPEAKER_04: But don't take my word for it.
- 20:51SPEAKER_04: Listen to the unsolicited testimony from an actual nose job patient.
- 21:00SPEAKER_04: Well, who could argue with that?
- 21:01SPEAKER_04: Call today and get an appointment in three years.
- 21:04SPEAKER_07: Okay, now now, Jeff, what happens to all those people who can't get a new nose from Dr.
- 21:10SPEAKER_07: Reinerstein or don't get a job?
- 21:13SPEAKER_07: Yes, they're poor.
- 21:14SPEAKER_07: They can't afford the new nose from Dr.
- 21:16SPEAKER_07: Reinerstein, they can't afford maybe the dating services, or the dating services don't work, they are left to their own devices.
- 21:24SPEAKER_08: What kind of devices?
- 21:25SPEAKER_07: Well, I'm glad you asked that, Jeff, because there are so many new devices.
- 21:31SPEAKER_07: It's just kind of like the dating services, too.
- 21:33SPEAKER_07: You can have very specific devices.
- 21:36SPEAKER_07: You can have if you're got, you can have goth devices.
- 21:41SPEAKER_07: If you're Canadian, you could have Canadian devices.
- 21:44SPEAKER_07: And if you're someone of faith, I think there's a there's a business here in the metro that is just really designed for those people who who have to take it into their own hands, so to speak, but are people of faith as well.
- 21:56SPEAKER_08: Steve, I really need to have my long term memory checked because I This is all new stuff to me.
- 22:01SPEAKER_08: So who is this?
- 22:03SPEAKER_08: I'm very excited.
- 22:04SPEAKER_07: I think just thinking about that wonderful place here in the Metro that opened, I think let's just play their commercial.
- 22:11SPEAKER_07: Friend, as a person of faith, are you tired of being told that your natural impulse to touch yourself is a sin?
- 22:18SPEAKER_07: Well, you can turn that sin into a blessing, brother.
- 22:22SPEAKER_07: That is our mission at the Metro's premier faith-based adult novelty and massage emporium, Touched by an Angel.
- 22:29SPEAKER_07: At Touched by an Angel, we give the faithful a heavenly experience.

- 23:22SPEAKER_08: Is there we're cat food?
- 23:25SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I'm looking for you know something cheap, you know, something that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
- 23:30SPEAKER_08: An arm.
- 23:30SPEAKER_08: Be okay if it costs an arm, but not an arm and a leg.
- 23:34SPEAKER_07: That's too much.
- 23:34SPEAKER_07: That's inflation, you know.
- 23:36SPEAKER_08: We haven't had a lot of retailers on this show, have we?
- 23:39SPEAKER_07: Oh well, well, we did have one that not only is a retailer, but is doing something about inflation.
- 23:45SPEAKER_07: Because you know everybody talks about inflation.
- 23:46SPEAKER_07: Everybody complains, oh, prices are going up, this, that.
- 23:49SPEAKER_07: Everybody complains nobody does anything, right?
- 23:51SPEAKER_07: Nope.
- 23:52SPEAKER_07: These guys are doing something about it.
- 23:53SPEAKER_07: They are taking that inflation and doing something about it, taking it to the next level.
- 23:58SPEAKER_07: That's so exciting.
- 23:59SPEAKER_07: I think, I think just in honor of them and the good they're doing for the community, for the public, for the people, for the nation, for the world.
- 24:06SPEAKER_07: The world, Jeff.
- 24:08SPEAKER_07: I think we should play their commercial.
- 24:09SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 24:10SPEAKER_07: Because, Jeff, you know, everywhere you go today, people are talking about inflation.
- 24:14SPEAKER_07: All kinds of people who, you know, a year ago didn't know a supply from a demand.
- 24:17SPEAKER_07: Oh, they're suddenly economists, right?
- 24:19SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 24:20SPEAKER_07: Well, this this business, our sponsor, has decided they actually do something about it.
- 24:26SPEAKER_07: So new in Omaha's trendy Nodo district is a store that can help you fight inflation.
- 24:31SPEAKER_07: It's called the$99 store.
- 24:34SPEAKER_07: It's just like the low-price stores you're familiar with, but it's adjusted for inflation.
- 24:38SPEAKER_07: So what do they sell?
- 24:40SPEAKER_07: Jeff, that is such a great question.
- 24:42SPEAKER_07: In a word, anything.
- 24:44SPEAKER_07: They will sell anything at all.
- 24:46SPEAKER_07: And you know before you go, that each item is competitively priced at$99.
- 24:52SPEAKER_07: So do they have do they sell energy drinks?
- 24:56SPEAKER_07: Yes,$99.
- 24:58SPEAKER_07: And how about Halloween candy?
- 25:00SPEAKER_07: Sure thing.
- 25:01SPEAKER_07: $99.
- 25:02SPEAKER_07: Wow.
- 25:03SPEAKER_07: What about television?
- 25:05SPEAKER_07: Come on, no.
- 25:06SPEAKER_07: But if someone wants paper plates, paper plates,$99.
- 25:11SPEAKER_07: Soup mix.
- 25:13SPEAKER_07: $99.
- 25:15SPEAKER_07: Sweat socks.
- 25:16SPEAKER_07: $99.
- 25:19SPEAKER_08: Wow, that sounds great.
- 25:21SPEAKER_07: So, folks, be sure and visit Nodo's latest eye opener, the$99 store, where you can let the air out of inflation.
- 25:29SPEAKER_08: I'm excited.
- 25:30SPEAKER_08: You know, I'm always excited.
- 25:31SPEAKER_08: There you go.
- 25:32SPEAKER_08: I'm always excited.
- 25:33SPEAKER_08: This show makes me very excited.
- 25:35SPEAKER_08: And I think I get excited because of you, Steve.
- 25:37SPEAKER_08: I just want to tell you.
- 25:38SPEAKER_07: Well, it's a thread.
- 25:39SPEAKER_07: Pull the thread.
- 25:40SPEAKER_07: Watch the sleeve unravel.
- 25:41SPEAKER_07: Ooh.
- 25:42SPEAKER_08: I think that's true.
- 25:43SPEAKER_07: I gotta tell you, I was listening to a podcast earlier today about because I've been trying to do some research, you know, on how to how we can really catch that MMA guy.
- 25:52SPEAKER_08: That's important.
- 25:53SPEAKER_07: And it was a podcast on how to do a podcast.
- 25:56SPEAKER_07: Next week, they're gonna have a podcast on how to start your podcast to tell people how to do a podcast.
- 26:02SPEAKER_08: But I'm gonna watch that.
- 26:03SPEAKER_08: We're gonna wait for that one.
- 26:04SPEAKER_07: Yeah, that sounds great.
- 26:05SPEAKER_07: That oh, then that's gonna be video too.
- 26:07SPEAKER_07: Three people sitting at different desks.
- 26:09SPEAKER_07: It could be it could be really dynamic.
- 26:11SPEAKER_07: But but I digress.
- 26:12SPEAKER_07: This show said that the average attention span for a podcast is two minutes.
- 26:18SPEAKER_07: Two minutes, Jeff.
- 26:20SPEAKER_08: For the whole podcast.
- 26:21SPEAKER_07: They'll listen to like the whole thing, but every two minutes, every two minutes you lose engagement.
- 26:26SPEAKER_07: Maybe we're doing something good for these advertisers because these commercials are two minutes or less.
- 26:31SPEAKER_07: And I think we're giving them that re-engagement, that reset, that renewal, that refreshing, that refrain, that replenish, that restocking of the mental capacity that we all need.
- 26:44SPEAKER_07: I agree.
- 26:45SPEAKER_08: And I think what's important, Steve, is that this is done by us organically.
- 26:49SPEAKER_08: You know, it's not stage, it's not okay, we'll be back after a word from our sponsor.
- 26:54SPEAKER_08: No, I mean, this is these are just what we're thinking.
- 26:57SPEAKER_08: This is off the top of our head.
- 26:58SPEAKER_07: This is just exactly a demonstration of how much we need these products, and how much we care about our community and about the people providing good things to that community.
- 27:09SPEAKER_07: Yes, Jeff, absolutely.
- 27:11SPEAKER_07: And I know our listeners care about that too.
- 27:13SPEAKER_07: And I I'll tell you, one of the things that people really need, of course, is food.
- 27:17SPEAKER_07: Oh my gosh, we all need food.
- 27:18SPEAKER_07: Who doesn't need food?
- 27:20SPEAKER_07: Everybody needs food.
- 27:21SPEAKER_07: We have had some really outstanding food sponsors, Jeff.
- 27:24SPEAKER_07: We really have.
- 27:25SPEAKER_07: I mean, I gotta think, of course, this last week we had the appropriation station sponsor, and they're into all kinds of different things now, too.
- 27:32SPEAKER_07: They're not just doing that a multi-ethnic Anglo multi-ethnic restaurant.
- 27:37SPEAKER_07: I mean, they're doing that, and that that's going great guns.
- 27:39SPEAKER_07: Well, they're very cutting edge, very cutting edge.
- 27:41SPEAKER_07: Oh, yeah, it's like ethnic without the ethnic.
- 27:43SPEAKER_07: It's just perfect.
- 27:44SPEAKER_07: I whoever came up with that's a genius, I'll tell you.
- 27:47SPEAKER_07: I'll tell you, but I digress.
- 27:48SPEAKER_07: But they're into all kinds of other things, they're into a clothing store, they're into packaged fish, they're into all kinds of different things.
- 27:57SPEAKER_07: Wow, I didn't remember that.
- 27:59SPEAKER_07: The packaged fish, especially.
- 28:01SPEAKER_07: Do you remember I the salty fish snack that's good almost any day of the year?
- 28:06SPEAKER_08: Yeah, what is that?
- 28:07SPEAKER_08: Kind of like a caviar, but what's the name of that?
- 28:09SPEAKER_08: I don't know.
- 28:09SPEAKER_07: Well, let's see.
- 28:10SPEAKER_07: It was named it's kind of like a holiday.
- 28:12SPEAKER_07: It was like tasty sukkus, no, wait, what was it?
- 28:15SPEAKER_07: Yummy lipper, uh roche fishes.
- 28:18SPEAKER_07: No, oh, oh, oh, oh, yum kippers, yum kippers.
- 28:23SPEAKER_07: It was kippers, it was that salty.
- 28:25SPEAKER_08: Might be the best name ever for uh a Jewish snack, a snack for anybody.
- 28:29SPEAKER_07: Hey, when they appropriate, they appropriate the best, let me tell you.
- 28:33SPEAKER_07: And they take the great names with it.
- 28:35SPEAKER_07: That was just such a great ad.
- 28:36SPEAKER_07: The thing I like about these guys at Appropriation Station is they fill their ads with puns.
- 28:42SPEAKER_05: I love that.
- 28:42SPEAKER_07: It's like a product, it's like information, but it's also funny, you know?
- 28:46SPEAKER_07: So I I kind of want some yum kippers right now, so why don't we just let's just play the commercial?
- 28:51SPEAKER_07: Hey Lensman, have you heard about the salty fish snack that will have the whole mashbuk of freshing like a bunch of mashuginers?
- 28:57SPEAKER_07: It's the new taste treat, Yum Kippers, a snack you can enjoy well, almost every day.
- 29:03SPEAKER_07: We pack the finest Scottish kippers with a drop of healthy schmaltz, with fins and scales included in case the Rebbe wants to check.
- 29:09SPEAKER_07: And they taste so good your Bubby will plot.
- 29:12SPEAKER_07: They're so good you will say yum to our kippers right before you say, Oi, Gavalt, I better buy more.
- 29:17SPEAKER_07: They're so good your Uncle Sal will forget all about you marrying that shaggis, and he'll be a regular guest again.
- 29:23SPEAKER_07: Good for breakfast, lunch, or just a little notch with your favorite Bialy.
- 29:26SPEAKER_07: So try Yum Kippers, the salty fish for at least 364 days of the year.
- 29:32SPEAKER_07: Look forward to Parv Brothers and other fine delicatesses.
- 29:38SPEAKER_08: Oye Bay.
- 29:39SPEAKER_07: And Jeff, who could listen to Yum Kippers and not think about that other new business that Appropriation Station is involved in?
- 29:48SPEAKER_07: Clothing.
- 29:48SPEAKER_07: Right up there with food, the basic needs.
- 29:50SPEAKER_07: Our community needs food, our community needs clothing.
- 29:54SPEAKER_08: People say, Oh, there's no connection.
- 29:56SPEAKER_08: A company can't do bow.
- 29:57SPEAKER_08: But you know, Steve, little known fact, General Motors, they make butter.
- 30:02SPEAKER_07: I've seen General Motors t-shirts, so they're doing clothing too.
- 30:06SPEAKER_07: Yes.
- 30:07SPEAKER_08: Pharmaceuticals, General Motors makes pharmaceuticals.
- 30:10SPEAKER_08: Oh, yeah.
- 30:11SPEAKER_08: We pretty much make everything, Steve.
- 30:12SPEAKER_08: You know, and you just don't think about it because you think General Motors, you think of cars, but they've diversified.
- 30:18SPEAKER_08: That's how they've survived.
- 30:19SPEAKER_08: That's yes, you know.
- 30:20SPEAKER_08: So I think these guys they're heading down the right track here.
- 30:24SPEAKER_08: I can't wait to hear uh more about this new line.
- 30:27SPEAKER_07: The nice thing about them, too, is they're they're diversifying into specialty markets, and they're gonna come in with money and they're gonna they're gonna wind up owning those ethnic markets.
- 30:36SPEAKER_07: I'll tell you, I really will.
- 30:37SPEAKER_07: I mean, they're just gonna come in, they're gonna drive all the ethnics out, and they're gonna put their their stuff in, and it's gonna be them.
- 30:43SPEAKER_07: It's all gonna be them.
- 30:44SPEAKER_07: So they are really coming in strong, and they have one that's really targeted for the South Asian community, and it's just it's loaded with puns, it's loaded with good stuff, it's loaded with bargains.
- 30:55SPEAKER_07: You know what?
- 30:56SPEAKER_07: Let's just play it.
- 30:57SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 30:58SPEAKER_07: Rising sorry prices have you stressed?

- 32:13SPEAKER_07: Who's sorry now?
- 32:15SPEAKER_07: A proud appropriation station brand.
- 32:23SPEAKER_07: You know, Jeff, if I if I wore soris, I would go to Who's Sorry Now because I don't know who sorry it is now.
- 32:29SPEAKER_07: It's used clothing.
- 32:30SPEAKER_07: Nobody knows.
- 32:30SPEAKER_07: Who knows?
- 32:31SPEAKER_07: I don't know.
- 32:32SPEAKER_08: That's true.
- 32:33SPEAKER_08: I think it's a great idea.
- 32:34SPEAKER_08: Just another example of how wonderful our appetizers are.
- 32:38SPEAKER_08: So now do those come in different colors, Steve, or are they all the same?
- 32:43SPEAKER_07: They come in all the all the popular saffron colors.
- 32:46SPEAKER_07: So they're all sort of a little yellow, little orangey yellow.
- 32:50SPEAKER_07: They're all kind of look like that.
- 32:51SPEAKER_08: I think yellow, yellow is an interesting color, Steve, because it's it's something that you go through history and you just see that all the important things, you know, in life, all the historic things.
- 33:00SPEAKER_08: They were all done in yellow.
- 33:02SPEAKER_08: Yellow rose of Texas?
- 33:03SPEAKER_08: Sure.
- 33:03SPEAKER_08: The White House yellow garden.
- 33:04SPEAKER_08: Yeah, it's everything everything's yellow.
- 33:07SPEAKER_07: It's critical, it's important.
- 33:08SPEAKER_07: And you know, you know, Jeff, that the color yellow, we don't often get concept advertisers like that.
- 33:14SPEAKER_07: Usually they're trying to sell a specific product or a company or a restaurant or something, but we had a concept advertiser just getting people to think better about the color yellow.
- 33:25SPEAKER_08: I've already done this, Steve.
- 33:26SPEAKER_08: That's where where I'm at.
- 33:27SPEAKER_08: It just comes up again organically.
- 33:30SPEAKER_08: I wasn't even aware that I was gonna be talking about it like that.
- 33:34SPEAKER_07: Oh, I know, I know.
- 33:35SPEAKER_07: It's one of those things that it gets into your mind and you just start thinking yellow.
- 33:39SPEAKER_07: And next thing you know, you're thinking, I I think I should paint the house.
- 33:42SPEAKER_07: I think it should it should be more yellow.
- 33:44SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I need yellow everywhere.
- 33:46SPEAKER_07: Let's listen to that very zen commercial.
- 33:50SPEAKER_07: Oh, I need that.
- 33:53SPEAKER_07: The color yellow, the most underappreciated primary color, shunned since the 1900 yellow fever outbreak.
- 34:05SPEAKER_07: Yellow.
- 34:07SPEAKER_07: Try it today on a house, a car, or a pet.
- 34:13SPEAKER_07: It doesn't always look like a banana.
- 34:16SPEAKER_07: The color yellow, brought to you by the refraction of natural sunlight, a leisure service of Amazon.com.
- 34:28SPEAKER_07: I'm I'm mellowed out.
- 34:30SPEAKER_08: I I'm totally mellowed out.
- 34:31SPEAKER_07: I mean mellow yellow.
- 34:32SPEAKER_07: Thank god.
- 34:33SPEAKER_07: If you're our age, you're you get that joke.
- 34:35SPEAKER_08: If you're under 60, you ask your grandfather to explain it.
- 34:39SPEAKER_07: But I digress.
- 34:40SPEAKER_08: Actually, actually, this kind of funny story.
- 34:42SPEAKER_08: When I graduated from high school, I went to uh backpack in Europe and we stayed at this hostel where they played mellow yellow over and over again all day, all the time, from some stoners.
- 34:54SPEAKER_08: They were, I don't remember, Copenhagen or wherever we oh they're from from from Amsterdam, probably.
- 34:59SPEAKER_08: Or from it was probably from Amsterdam, but yeah, they were just complete stoners.
- 35:03SPEAKER_08: The only time they ever got up was to go get something to eat, and they had the best food there because I was there with them.
- 35:10SPEAKER_08: Best snacks, I'm sure.
- 35:12SPEAKER_08: It was an Asian kind of dish.
- 35:14SPEAKER_08: It seems like we've had a couple of Asian sponsors too, or or Fusion or Oh yeah, Greek, haven't we?
- 35:22SPEAKER_07: Well, we've we have had some really good Asian.
- 35:25SPEAKER_07: Well, of course, we've had Fusion, but that's appropriation station.
- 35:28SPEAKER_07: But uh we have had some great Asian, in addition to, of course, Who's Sorry Now?
- 35:32SPEAKER_07: We've had a great Asian restaurant, a place that I've I've gone many times.
- 35:36SPEAKER_07: I know I think you have too, Jeff.
- 35:38SPEAKER_07: That hot Vietnamese soup.
- 35:40SPEAKER_07: Oh summer's coming, time for hot soup.
- 35:42SPEAKER_07: That's right.
- 35:43SPEAKER_07: You want that hot spicy soup?
- 35:44SPEAKER_08: What's the name hot hing?
- 35:45SPEAKER_07: It was pha, is what you call that soup.
- 35:48SPEAKER_07: So let me uh yeah, let me just, you know what, rather delicious.
- 35:52SPEAKER_07: Rather than explain it, let's just let's just play it.
- 35:58SPEAKER_07: If you want the best Vietnamese pho soup in the metro area, try some hearty pho at the King of Asian fusion, pha king.
- 36:06SPEAKER_07: Bring your friends and enjoy the pho king ambience.
- 36:10SPEAKER_07: Or if you're in a hurry, you can take some home from our special pha king drive-thru.
- 36:15SPEAKER_07: Serve your whole family with a pha king kettle, or spoil yourself with our individual serving pho cups.
- 36:22SPEAKER_07: Our loyal customers often have a pho cup at home, a pha cup in the car, or even a pha cup at work.
- 36:28SPEAKER_07: Wherever you go, you can have a pho cup of your very own.
- 36:32SPEAKER_07: And we're more than just pho at pha king, we also have pha king barbecue, fa king salads, and pha king sandwiches.
- 36:40SPEAKER_07: Everything we serve is made with our own special pha king love and care.
- 36:44SPEAKER_07: Join our king and queen club and we will treat you like pha king royalty.
- 36:49SPEAKER_07: You haven't had pho until you've had pha king pha.
- 36:52SPEAKER_07: It's not just good, it's fa king good.
- 36:59SPEAKER_07: Every time I hear that, I want some spicy soup.
- 37:02SPEAKER_07: I mean, it's like 80 today, but I don't care.
- 37:04SPEAKER_07: That's when it's best.
- 37:05SPEAKER_08: And you know what color soup?
- 37:07SPEAKER_07: Yellow.
- 37:07SPEAKER_07: Yellow.
- 37:08SPEAKER_07: The yellow curry.
- 37:09SPEAKER_07: You got it.
- 37:10SPEAKER_07: That's the one.
- 37:11SPEAKER_07: Completely.
- 37:11SPEAKER_08: Well, you know, Steve, I have to say, I have to hand it to you.
- 37:14SPEAKER_08: I don't think of Omaha as being, you know, even Nebraska per se, as being as international to have restaurants like that.
- 37:21SPEAKER_08: Right.
- 37:21SPEAKER_08: You know, I always know Council Bluffs is where you go for fun.
- 37:25SPEAKER_08: But you know, it's kind of turning me around here on this on this Omaha thing, Nebraska in general.
- 37:31SPEAKER_07: Tell you, Omaha is surprisingly multi-ethnic and anglo.
- 37:35SPEAKER_07: It's an a sort of an Anglo multi-ethnic.
- 37:37SPEAKER_07: It's kind of a blend, if you will.
- 37:38SPEAKER_07: One of the other great things in Omaha, Jeff, is that there's now a service business that can just take care of whatever you need taken care of.
- 37:47SPEAKER_07: You need something that's a little, maybe a little outside the norm, but you need it done and you need it done kind of quickly and quietly.
- 37:54SPEAKER_07: These guys can do it.
- 37:56SPEAKER_08: So they're like real assertive.
- 37:57SPEAKER_07: I wouldn't want to owe them money.
- 37:58SPEAKER_07: Oh.
- 37:59SPEAKER_07: It'd be bad.
- 38:00SPEAKER_07: Well, if you don't pay.
- 38:01SPEAKER_07: If you owe them money and you pay, but if you pay, if you don't pay, no, it could be bad.
- 38:05SPEAKER_07: Could be really bad.
- 38:06SPEAKER_07: It's a just a great service.
- 38:07SPEAKER_07: They can do just about anything, Jeff.
- 38:09SPEAKER_07: I'll tell you, you know what, let's just let's just listen to their ad.
- 38:12SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 38:13SPEAKER_07: You tired of figuring out how to get a job done, spend an hour searching the entire interweb?
- 38:18SPEAKER_07: Forget about it.
- 38:20SPEAKER_07: Call me.
- 38:21SPEAKER_07: Because I know a guy.
- 38:22SPEAKER_07: Hello.
- 38:24SPEAKER_07: My name is not important.
- 38:27SPEAKER_07: But what I do is important.
- 38:32SPEAKER_07: Need waste management services?
- 38:34SPEAKER_07: I know a guy.
- 38:35SPEAKER_07: Need to remind a special someone of their contractual obligations?
- 38:39SPEAKER_07: I know a guy.
- 38:41SPEAKER_07: Need to get that goddamn neighbor dog to shut the hell up?
- 38:45SPEAKER_07: I know a guy.
- 38:46SPEAKER_07: I know lots of guys for lots of jobs.
- 38:49SPEAKER_07: So what do you got?
- 38:50SPEAKER_03: I need to do some home improvement, but I can't afford the permits, union rates, or safety practices.
- 38:59SPEAKER_02: I know a guy.
- 39:00SPEAKER_02: I won big on my MBA G League bet, and I still haven't received a dime.
- 39:06SPEAKER_02: I know a guy.
- 39:08SPEAKER_01: I need to get my weird on in the backseat of a Burgundy 2014 Subaru Forester with a cadre of Portuguese acrobats, a case of I can't believe it's not butter, an original copy of the United States Constitution.
- 39:25SPEAKER_01: And I need to do it underneath the Bullwinkle Balloon in the Mason's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
- 39:30SPEAKER_07: I know a guy.
- 39:32SPEAKER_07: And I know a guy.
- 39:34SPEAKER_07: No job is too small, too big, or too weird.
- 39:37SPEAKER_07: Call the number on your screen to reach the first in a series of untraceable cell phones, making up the network of I know a guy guys.
- 39:45SPEAKER_07: And if you want to be one of the guys I know, say Ty Clifford, I know who you are.
- 39:50SPEAKER_07: I know a guy may not be available in all areas, but it will be.
- 39:56SPEAKER_07: You see how diverse Nebraska is.
- 39:58SPEAKER_07: We've really got all kinds of different things here, Jeff.
- 40:00SPEAKER_07: And you're gonna be really impressed.
- 40:02SPEAKER_07: You got great food, you have uh all kinds of activities.
- 40:06SPEAKER_07: You get a chance to see all this, Jeff.
- 40:08SPEAKER_08: It's just not Omaha.
- 40:09SPEAKER_08: I mean, I think all of Nebraska is kind of known for that sort of a secret gem, you know.
- 40:14SPEAKER_08: Don't you think it's kind of one of those things that people don't think of immediately, you know, like Monte Carlo or Paris.
- 40:21SPEAKER_07: When people think of Nebraska, they think of those eight hours where you're driving across the state and there's nothing.
- 40:28SPEAKER_07: That's right, and they think of all states like that.
- 40:30SPEAKER_07: Okay, it's just that eight-hour drive is like that.
- 40:33SPEAKER_07: That's not the whole state, though.
- 40:35SPEAKER_07: No, no, that's not the whole state.
- 40:37SPEAKER_07: I mean, there's a lot more going on, Jeff.
- 40:39SPEAKER_08: And why would people need to hear this again, Steve, because it's so important, you know.
- 40:43SPEAKER_07: Well, we had Nebraska Tourism sponsor an ad on our show, and I think not enough people heard it.
- 40:48SPEAKER_07: So, you know what, Jeff?
- 40:49SPEAKER_07: You are absolutely right.
- 40:51SPEAKER_07: I'm gonna play that ad right now.
- 40:52SPEAKER_07: I don't care what that engineer says.
- 40:54SPEAKER_07: I'm gonna play that ad right now.
- 41:00SPEAKER_07: You know, they say Nebraska's not for everyone.
- 41:04SPEAKER_07: Well, let me tell you about visiting my state.
- 41:07SPEAKER_07: We're excited to have you visit our beautiful sand hills and scenic Missouri River Valley.
- 41:13SPEAKER_07: Well, that is unless you think you might vote for a Democrat someday.
- 41:17SPEAKER_07: In which case, you better just stay in California, Snowflake.
- 41:22SPEAKER_07: Or unless you smoke weed.
- 41:24SPEAKER_07: In that case, we'd like to remind you that Colorado is that way.
- 41:30SPEAKER_07: Oh.
- 41:30SPEAKER_07: And if your gender is fluid, we hope you can just hold those fluids.
- 41:34SPEAKER_07: Because as you drive through on I-80 from Brooklyn to Berkeley, we want you to know that all of our restrooms are closed.
- 41:43SPEAKER_07: You want warm weather?
- 41:44SPEAKER_07: Keep driving.
- 41:46SPEAKER_07: How about sunny ocean beaches?
- 41:48SPEAKER_07: You're a few million years too late.
- 41:51SPEAKER_07: Maybe you want to get around on public transit.
- 41:54SPEAKER_07: Yeah, you better leave a couple days early if that's your plan.
- 41:58SPEAKER_07: So come on, visit Nebraska.
- 42:00SPEAKER_07: I wouldn't say it's not for everyone.
- 42:03SPEAKER_07: Honestly, it's not for anyone.
- 42:10SPEAKER_08: You know, Steve, when I listened to that, I realized the weight that we carry, the burden that we carry, because we literally influence industries and in this case tourism and the state of Nebraska.
- 42:26SPEAKER_08: That's a heavy burden.
- 42:27SPEAKER_08: I think we handle that pretty well.
- 42:28SPEAKER_08: It is uh in general, don't you think?
- 42:31SPEAKER_07: Oh, it is, Jeff.
- 42:31SPEAKER_07: And it's it's a burden that I think about all the time.
- 42:34SPEAKER_07: I think when I'm driving in the car and I'm tempted to flip off the other driver, I say, you know, what about the burden that I owe those listeners?
- 42:42unknown: Uh-huh.
- 42:43SPEAKER_07: And I don't do it.
- 42:44SPEAKER_07: And I'm tempted to go 10 over the limit because everybody else is going 10 over the limit.
- 42:48SPEAKER_07: But I think about what we owe those listeners, and I and I don't do it.
- 42:52SPEAKER_07: I know you're you're completely right.
- 42:53SPEAKER_07: Or I'm I'm thinking about having some drinks with my 90-year-old mom who's pregnant.
- 42:57SPEAKER_07: And well, yeah.
- 42:58SPEAKER_07: Well, I and I do it, but but I do it.
- 43:00SPEAKER_07: I think if somebody was more concerned with their health, they shouldn't do this.
- 43:03SPEAKER_07: But I digress.
- 43:04SPEAKER_07: And Jeff, you know, we're kind of getting close on time here, Jeff.
- 43:07SPEAKER_07: But I I think there's there is one more sponsor that we really need to think about, and somebody who has just done such wondrous things.
- 43:16SPEAKER_07: And in fact, it's it's a place that you actually participate in.
- 43:20SPEAKER_08: You actually talking about my dad.
- 43:22SPEAKER_07: Well, no, no, but I work with my dad.
- 43:25SPEAKER_07: Well, for a while, but we're we're gonna get him on the show, Jeff.
- 43:28SPEAKER_07: We're I I got Tippy's out looking right now.
- 43:30SPEAKER_07: Tippy is Tippy's in Joliet right now, she is outside Stateville.
- 43:36SPEAKER_07: I'd like there's gonna be a lecture.
- 43:37SPEAKER_08: I was actually in Joliet yesterday, you know.
- 43:39SPEAKER_08: I was Ubering and I ended up, you know, in Joliet.
- 43:42SPEAKER_08: Beautiful town, really turning into something special.
- 43:45SPEAKER_07: They it's minimum security now at in in the town, not in the jail.
- 43:49SPEAKER_07: But it's in the town, you can kind of walk around somewhat normal in the town now.
- 43:53SPEAKER_07: It's kind of it's kind of nice.
- 43:55SPEAKER_08: But a lot of casualties, yeah.
- 43:56SPEAKER_07: But Jeff, I'm so glad that you said Ubering because Because this sponsor that is doing something really important is connected with Uber.
- 44:05SPEAKER_07: It's another expansion of Uber.
- 44:07SPEAKER_08: Oh, I remember.
- 44:09SPEAKER_08: Yes.
- 44:09SPEAKER_07: You know, because they've got they got the regular, the rideshare, they got the Uber Eats, they got the deliveries, they got this is that ultimate, that ultimate step for Uber.
- 44:19SPEAKER_07: That's right.
- 44:20SPEAKER_07: I'm just so excited.
- 44:21SPEAKER_07: They actually got the idea from this show.
- 44:23SPEAKER_07: Remember, we were talking with David Ortiz, the Uber driver, and he came up with this idea, and they said, Yes, let's do it.
- 44:30SPEAKER_07: And so Again, Steve, what a burden.
- 44:32SPEAKER_07: What a burden.
- 44:33SPEAKER_07: I think we have on our body.
- 44:34SPEAKER_07: That's why.
- 44:34SPEAKER_07: But you know, that's why I don't go ten over the limit, and why I drink with my pregnant nine-year-old mother.
- 44:39SPEAKER_07: It's the same burden.
- 44:40SPEAKER_07: It's it's like a shared burden.
- 44:42SPEAKER_07: It's a it's a yin-yang burden, it's a global burden, it's a circle, it's like a circle with a circle.
- 44:47SPEAKER_07: I'm so excited about this product.
- 44:50SPEAKER_07: And they premiered it on our show, Jeff.
- 44:53SPEAKER_07: Our show.
- 44:53SPEAKER_07: They don't.
- 44:54SPEAKER_07: I think let's just let's just play it.
- 44:58SPEAKER_07: You know Uber.
- 44:59SPEAKER_07: And Uber Eats and Uber Shopping.
- 45:02SPEAKER_07: Now, get ready for the ultimate Uber experience.
- 45:07SPEAKER_07: Ah, funeral home says they need cash to send the hearse.
- 45:10SPEAKER_05: No problem.
- 45:11SPEAKER_05: I have the app.
- 45:12SPEAKER_05: Looks like there are four hearses in the area.
- 45:15SPEAKER_05: Pietro can be here in six minutes.
- 45:18SPEAKER_07: UberX, uh EX that is, will disrupt the funeral business just like we've disrupted everything else.
- 45:25SPEAKER_07: With Uber EX, you can get a hearse in minutes for a fraction of the cost of funeral home rides.
- 45:32SPEAKER_07: And we have several options for the sophisticated mourner.
- 45:35SPEAKER_07: The regular EX gives the classic funeral experience.
- 45:39SPEAKER_07: For the budget-minded, we have EX Share, where two or more deceased can ride for one low cost.
- 45:45SPEAKER_07: Additional cemetery stops do cost extra.
- 45:48SPEAKER_07: And for the deceased who wants to go out in style, Uber Limo EX gives a luxury send-off anyone would be proud of.
- 45:55SPEAKER_07: So download the app and be ready, because you never know when a cost-saving funeral may be just what you're looking for.
- 46:03SPEAKER_07: A hearse from Uber EX.
- 46:05SPEAKER_07: Ride sharing for that last ride.
- 46:12SPEAKER_07: Well, Jeff, that just shows what a great year we have had and what a tremendous time we've had with our sponsors.
- 46:20SPEAKER_07: And I don't mind giving this show to our sponsors.
- 46:23SPEAKER_08: You know what I mean?
- 46:24SPEAKER_08: I don't either.
- 46:24SPEAKER_08: And I I look forward to next year to see the some of the same old friends, but also some new people too to come and join us.
- 46:31SPEAKER_08: And I just want to bring one more thought to you, Steve.
- 46:34SPEAKER_08: Yeah, keep an eye out for that hearse, that Uber Hearse, because I think you'll find that it's yellow.
- 46:41SPEAKER_08: Ah, that would be something from us, something that came from us.
- 46:46SPEAKER_07: That would be so cool.
- 46:47SPEAKER_08: Trying to make it all work.
- 46:49SPEAKER_08: What'd you say?
- 46:50SPEAKER_08: Putting a circle in a circle?
- 46:51SPEAKER_08: A circle and a circle.
- 46:52SPEAKER_07: And I bet you could get it for$99.
- 46:55SPEAKER_07: What do you think?
- 46:56SPEAKER_07: Huh?
- 46:56SPEAKER_07: But Jeff, you know, I the old clock on the wall at eccentric lady in the studios is is not in our favor.
- 47:02SPEAKER_07: And I know that engineer is never in our favor.
- 47:04SPEAKER_07: I don't, I don't like him.
- 47:05SPEAKER_07: And I'm not gonna soften my language.
- 47:07SPEAKER_07: I do not like you.
- 47:08SPEAKER_07: Bye.
- 47:09SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I'm waving.
- 47:10SPEAKER_07: See me wave?
- 47:12SPEAKER_08: Uh-huh.
- 47:12SPEAKER_07: I call that a wave, Jeff.
- 47:13SPEAKER_07: You saw that, right?
- 47:15SPEAKER_08: Uh yeah, I gotta go to uh I just want to curl up, watch the game, eat some uh yum kippers and oh yeah, just kind of relax.
- 47:24SPEAKER_07: I got an individually wrapped box of yum kippers upstairs just waiting.
- 47:28SPEAKER_07: I'm gonna get into them and probably throw back some vodka and you know, just whatever.
- 47:32SPEAKER_07: Have a great old time.
- 47:33SPEAKER_07: But Jeff, listen, I will see you on our next show.
- 47:36SPEAKER_07: And uh I can't wait.
- 47:38SPEAKER_08: Okay, hey, sounds good, yeah.
- 47:40SPEAKER_08: Bye everyone.
- 47:45SPEAKER_00: Selling it's easy to do.
- 47:51SPEAKER_00: It's not so hot.
