- 2:15Speaker 1: if if a listener like emails us and they're like,
- 2:18Speaker 1: I love what you're doing, please review X, Y, and Z,
- 2:21Speaker 1: the answer is usually yes. Yeah, if we have time
- 2:26Speaker 1: in the schedule to do it, and we have time
- 2:27Speaker 1: in our personal lives to consume that content, Yeah, why
- 2:31Speaker 1: not agree? Why not? Let's hear a synopsis for this episode,
- 2:36Speaker 1: Drip Drip, Drip. John confides in Chris while Aria spends
- 2:40Speaker 1: time with her mother. Walter struggles with technology around the
- 2:43Speaker 1: house and Nate leans en Claire for support. It's time
- 2:47Speaker 1: for news and Notes. Episode two was once again directed
- 2:50Speaker 1: by Amanda Tapping, who also directed the premiere. Her resume
- 2:54Speaker 1: includes the one hundred and with an E, Motherland, Fort Salem,
- 2:57Speaker 1: and Murder in a Small Town. Michelle is credited with
- 3:01Speaker 1: writing episode two. Our cast returns Frankie Faison as Walter,
- 3:05Speaker 1: Julia Chan as Chris, Ian Harding as Nate, and Sidney
- 3:08Speaker 1: Agadong as Aria. Marzt House as Tara, and Sarah Swier
- 3:12Speaker 1: as Ellis also return in this episode. Also returning is
- 3:16Speaker 1: Robert Bazacci as John and Vanessa Smythe as Claire. Kelly
- 3:21Speaker 1: Fansen plays Rose Aria's mom. She has thirty four acting
- 3:23Speaker 1: credits and regular Hallmark fans might recognize her from the
- 3:26Speaker 1: twenty twenty three movie Christmas with a Kiss. Isabella Asberry
- 3:30Speaker 1: plays Fenn. This is her tenth acting credit and has
- 3:33Speaker 1: previously appeared on Genny and Georgia. Nicola Corea Demode plays Sylvie.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Nicola has fifty four acting credits and has had roles
- 3:41Speaker 1: in Shadow Hunter's Resident Alien and Law and Order Toronto
- 3:45Speaker 1: Criminal Intent. Let's take a quick break and we are
- 3:47Speaker 1: going to come right back with our first impression. Hey, Wendy,
- 4:00Speaker 1: what was your first impression of Ripple Episode two? I
- 4:04Speaker 1: am emotionally invested, and I'm scared of where this story
- 4:08Speaker 1: is going to take us. My first impression is I
- 4:11Speaker 1: love a metaphor that beats me over the head, particularly
- 4:16Speaker 1: a show called Ripple with an actual ripple effect causing
- 4:20Speaker 1: a ripple effect in the episode. I like it. I doo.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Let's talk what we liked about this episode. I have
- 4:29Speaker 1: a long list. Yeah, in this episode because I was
- 4:33Speaker 1: afraid that they were going to abandon the ripple concept,
- 4:37Speaker 1: you know, like we set it up, yes in episode one,
- 4:41Speaker 1: and then like I figured we would just watch like
- 4:44Speaker 1: how it plays out. Yeah, but it's happening again in
- 4:50Speaker 1: episode two, and I like it. It's not so you
- 4:55Speaker 1: said it's hitting you? Is it hitting you over the head?
- 4:56Speaker 1: Is it too obvious? No, I know it's not too obvious.
- 5:00Speaker 1: I like it, and I like watching all those little
- 5:04Speaker 1: pieces come together. Me too. You know, you two episodes
- 5:08Speaker 1: and you know nothing is insignificant in this show exactly
- 5:11Speaker 1: so you know that that unknown person in the tunnel
- 5:14Speaker 1: checking the pipes who gets called away, we know that's
- 5:17Speaker 1: going to ripple effects everything, right, and it's fun to
- 5:21Speaker 1: see it come together. And I like hearing, oh, because
- 5:25Speaker 1: of the flood, this is happening, and because and then
- 5:26Speaker 1: you see him in the hallway with his baby. I
- 5:29Speaker 1: like the way they tie those pieces together. I do too.
- 5:31Speaker 1: I like it a lot. It's gonna come up a
- 5:33Speaker 1: little bit in my wishes and I'll tell you about
- 5:36Speaker 1: it when we get there. But I, like you said,
- 5:39Speaker 1: these events that are happening don't happen in isolation. And
- 5:44Speaker 1: I just like that these things are the catalysts to
- 5:49Speaker 1: what's going on in their lives. I don't. I'm into it.
- 5:52Speaker 1: I'm super into it. And there's so many near misses too, right, Like, yeah,
- 5:57Speaker 1: Aria not getting on the train because she hears that
- 6:00Speaker 1: there's flooding in the subway, so she walks past it,
- 6:05Speaker 1: stumbles upon Chris. You know, John arrives at the bar
- 6:09Speaker 1: right after Aria had walked away. His girlfriend happens to
- 6:13Speaker 1: be there. All of these things are happening, Yeah, all
- 6:16Speaker 1: of these near misses. Chris missus Aria, but that leads
- 6:20Speaker 1: to her getting the chance to sit in a cozy
- 6:22Speaker 1: little booth with Nate and watch the video yeah, exactly, yeah, exactly.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Well can we talk about Aria? Yes? Please. Aria has
- 6:29Speaker 1: a ton of growth. She steps into herself in this episode,
- 6:32Speaker 1: and it rewinds a little bit. We set not in time,
- 6:35Speaker 1: but in her life. She wakes up in her childhood
- 6:38Speaker 1: bedroom and we get a little bit of perspective on
- 6:41Speaker 1: her relationship with her mother, which is troubled. It still
- 6:45Speaker 1: leaves a lot to be desired in terms of information. Yeah,
- 6:48Speaker 1: Like there's a lot of pieces her mom. She says,
- 6:51Speaker 1: you have such a gift with the piano. Yeah, that
- 6:54Speaker 1: was a little passive aggressive now, Yeah, but she's clearly
- 6:58Speaker 1: very talented as well. Her singing voice is incredible. And
- 7:03Speaker 1: also there's all these which I'll talk about later, but
- 7:05Speaker 1: there's a lot of questions I have there. But I
- 7:09Speaker 1: loved that scene where she sees Chris and she rushes
- 7:13Speaker 1: past her and then she makes the decision to come
- 7:15Speaker 1: back and asks for her chance. Yeah, and she shows
- 7:18Speaker 1: up and she sees it through and she's like, it's
- 7:20Speaker 1: got to be right now. And then that scene of
- 7:23Speaker 1: her performing deserves its own, like, oh my god, it
- 7:27Speaker 1: was so good. First of all, what is her name, Sydney?
- 7:30Speaker 1: She's an incredible singer, Yes, I loved it. She sings
- 7:35Speaker 1: the song seasons Change, which she pulls out the lyrics
- 7:39Speaker 1: like at her mom's house that morning. Right. The song
- 7:42Speaker 1: is super reflective of like everything that's going on in
- 7:45Speaker 1: the episode. She's so good at it. Also, I was
- 7:49Speaker 1: a little disappointed at I tried to shdamn it because
- 7:52Speaker 1: I was like, is this like a real song? Is
- 7:54Speaker 1: this available to stream somewhere? Yeah? I can I find
- 7:57Speaker 1: it nothing. So then I watched all the credits at
- 7:59Speaker 1: the end, I was like, who wrote this? M There
- 8:03Speaker 1: was no music credits interns, which I was super shocked
- 8:06Speaker 1: about because there was tons of other music in this
- 8:08Speaker 1: episode that was credited none. I was like, what credit. Oh,
- 8:12Speaker 1: there's a website that I found. We'll link it in
- 8:15Speaker 1: the show notes because I was that lists the soundtracks
- 8:19Speaker 1: from each episode. Oh cool, Like I said, it lists
- 8:22Speaker 1: the episode by episode. But isn't it typical that they
- 8:25Speaker 1: put music credits at the end of an episode. I
- 8:28Speaker 1: wouldn't know that, But you're right, that song is not
- 8:31Speaker 1: actually credited in this music credit. Well they should release
- 8:35Speaker 1: that song. Absolutely, you're singing it. She's so good that
- 8:38Speaker 1: whole scene, like the whole bar is mesmerized, and I
- 8:41Speaker 1: love that Nate's recording it, and then he kind of
- 8:43Speaker 1: looks around like, are you all seeing this? Yeah, it's
- 8:45Speaker 1: really great, And she gets a standing ovation, and it's
- 8:48Speaker 1: it's she's incredible, she's incredibly talented, it's earned that standing
- 8:52Speaker 1: ovation could have felt overdone, and it doesn't to me. Really,
- 8:56Speaker 1: It's got maybe a hairtle subject. And I hate her husband,
- 9:00Speaker 1: so well, let's talk about her husband John, Okay, because
- 9:06Speaker 1: when he shows up, Chris catches him and we see Desi,
- 9:09Speaker 1: his girlfriend in the background, step stand up and then
- 9:12Speaker 1: sit back down again. I have more questions about how
- 9:14Speaker 1: much she knows. Chris and John go back to the
- 9:18Speaker 1: apartment to look for Ariya, and the way John starts
- 9:22Speaker 1: to talk about her, Yeah, you're like, oh, he he
- 9:25Speaker 1: loves her, or at least has some affection for her.
- 9:28Speaker 1: But I don't like is that he's like, well, she
- 9:31Speaker 1: just became so invested in starting a family and she's
- 9:34Speaker 1: lost her way of like who she is or what
- 9:37Speaker 1: she's becoming. I just was like, are you blaming her?
- 9:41Speaker 1: He does feel frustrated with her. Na I don't like this.
- 9:45Speaker 1: I don't like this narrative. He's frustrated with her, so
- 9:47Speaker 1: therefore he has to run to the arms of his No,
- 9:50Speaker 1: I don't think she caused him to do anything. I mean,
- 9:52Speaker 1: he owns his own actions. But his behavior comes off
- 9:54Speaker 1: as like he says, she doesn't sleep if I'm not here.
- 9:57Speaker 1: It's a whole thing. Like he feels frustrated with what's
- 9:59Speaker 1: going on her, like he can't control it. It feels
- 10:02Speaker 1: out of his hand. There's so much more to Aria
- 10:06Speaker 1: that we're not aware. We're not aware of yet, right,
- 10:09Speaker 1: but what it seems to me later on, DESI comes
- 10:12Speaker 1: to John, he brushes her off terrible. We get that
- 10:17Speaker 1: moment where she's like, oh, I'm wearing my bracelet that
- 10:20Speaker 1: you gave me because you remember the thing that I said.
- 10:22Speaker 1: And we know that they have kind of an established relationship.
- 10:25Speaker 1: But he for whatever reason, maybe it was the almost
- 10:30Speaker 1: getting caught moment, Maybe he seeing his wife through someone
- 10:34Speaker 1: else's eyes caused him to reevaluate what he was doing.
- 10:37Speaker 1: I don't know. And then he showed he's all in
- 10:40Speaker 1: when they go to her performance and he's, you know,
- 10:43Speaker 1: the loving, supportive husband when he's making a face. I
- 10:46Speaker 1: don't trust it either, but it is. They started to
- 10:49Speaker 1: sell me on him a little bit. Did you Obviously
- 10:52Speaker 1: Nate clocks him. He's like, oh, you've been in here,
- 10:54Speaker 1: like whatever. Do you feel like Nate knows what's up?
- 10:58Speaker 1: I don't. I didn't get the impression that. Really, I like,
- 11:01Speaker 1: you come in with the suits. I want to give
- 11:04Speaker 1: Nate more credit. I think Nate knows who comes in
- 11:07Speaker 1: and out of his bar. Yeah and yeah, Yeah, I
- 11:12Speaker 1: don't know. Will it play out? Who knows? I don't know. Yeah,
- 11:15Speaker 1: I don't know either. Can we talk about Nate? Yes, Nate? Nate.
- 11:22Speaker 1: I freaking love Ian Hardin. I love him as Nate
- 11:25Speaker 1: with Ellis. They have an incredible banter together. I love
- 11:31Speaker 1: Nate with Chris. I love their chemistry together. And then
- 11:35Speaker 1: we have like Nate with Claire and uncomfortable. It's so uncomfortable,
- 11:40Speaker 1: but it's it's supposed to be. Yeah. I feel so
- 11:44Speaker 1: bad for Claire because she jumps into go mode basically,
- 11:48Speaker 1: you know, like to help him get everything all set
- 11:51Speaker 1: up and for his doctor's appointments and his treatment and whatever.
- 11:55Speaker 1: And she wants to be there for them and for
- 11:59Speaker 1: him and wants him to be back in the house
- 12:00Speaker 1: and they can like figure out their shit after and
- 12:02Speaker 1: she's just looking at him like, I still love you,
- 12:07Speaker 1: will do anything for you. And we don't know the
- 12:10Speaker 1: details of their separation, right, but it does seem like
- 12:13Speaker 1: she wasn't the one who wanted it. That's the org
- 12:15Speaker 1: doesn't continue to want it, like she wants at least
- 12:19Speaker 1: some sort of peace and reconciliation in a way that
- 12:21Speaker 1: he does not want. It makes me so uncomfortable. It
- 12:25Speaker 1: makes me uncomfortable too. But I also understand where Claire
- 12:27Speaker 1: is coming from, because if my husband that I was
- 12:31Speaker 1: separated from, obviously you had some effect. Whether she was
- 12:35Speaker 1: the one who wanted it or not, you still have
- 12:37Speaker 1: some affection for this person. You want to care for them.
- 12:39Speaker 1: You don't want to think of your husband with stage
- 12:42Speaker 1: to cancer undergoing chemo sleeping it on a couch in
- 12:45Speaker 1: his bar. Yeah. No, No. I also understand that impulse
- 12:49Speaker 1: to take over and organize and feel like, well, I
- 12:54Speaker 1: can't control this, but I'm going to control what I
- 12:56Speaker 1: can and feel like I have some power in this situation.
- 13:00Speaker 1: I understand him being like, yo, you're not listening to yeah,
- 13:03Speaker 1: basically calls her out. You're not listening to my needs
- 13:07Speaker 1: at all, which I wonder if is a recurring, Yeah,
- 13:10Speaker 1: problem between them two of them. Nate meets Finn. Yes,
- 13:14Speaker 1: this is where I am afraid of where this story
- 13:18Speaker 1: is going. This charming nine year old girl. I adore her,
- 13:23Speaker 1: and I really liked the scene where we meet her
- 13:25Speaker 1: and she's with the oncology nurse and she's like, Oh,
- 13:28Speaker 1: you're already my favorite patient. She shows her the snacks
- 13:30Speaker 1: and then she just has this total bantery conversation with
- 13:34Speaker 1: Nate that I loved, and she calls him out. She's
- 13:39Speaker 1: honest and she's funny, and she has no patience for
- 13:42Speaker 1: him lying to his daughter. She says, out lying just
- 13:45Speaker 1: in case that too. When I talk about, like Nate
- 13:48Speaker 1: telling his daughter what's going on, But it was a
- 13:52Speaker 1: funny line. Nate's phone rings and it rings really loud,
- 13:54Speaker 1: and she goes, yeah, my grandpa has that. Yeah. I
- 13:56Speaker 1: was like, oh, I feel like I've just been called out. Yeah, exactly.
- 14:01Speaker 1: They're obviously building something more there. Yes, I'm worried about
- 14:06Speaker 1: the trajectory of that storyline. And this is obviously not
- 14:10Speaker 1: her first rodeo because she and her father talked about
- 14:13Speaker 1: She says something about, oh, the other place had terrible books, right,
- 14:16Speaker 1: did they move for a new treatment opportunity. What's happening here,
- 14:20Speaker 1: I don't know. We have the man who breaks my
- 14:23Speaker 1: heart every time he's on screen, and that's Walter. I
- 14:26Speaker 1: love Walter so much. In this whole episode, I felt
- 14:31Speaker 1: deeply and I loved how Tara helps him through it.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Walter's looking for his computer charger, basically because all this
- 14:42Speaker 1: stuff is falling up, not falling apart, but like things
- 14:45Speaker 1: he wasn't involved with when his wife was living right,
- 14:49Speaker 1: And Tara comes in and she's helping him through it,
- 14:51Speaker 1: and she tells him this incredible story about it's not
- 14:55Speaker 1: the thing in front of us is what the problem is.
- 14:57Speaker 1: It's just well done. And she while she's talking, she
- 15:01Speaker 1: starts cleaning up his apartment, picking up pillows. Yeah, like
- 15:05Speaker 1: putting things back together, which I really liked. Of course,
- 15:09Speaker 1: that leads us to this lovely little electronic store exchange
- 15:12Speaker 1: where Tara has a little meet cute with Sylvie that
- 15:16Speaker 1: I thought was adorable. I liked Tara vibing with the headphone.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Perhaps my favorite moment in this episode it's it's it's
- 15:25Speaker 1: there's two of them, but one might be when Ellis
- 15:29Speaker 1: calls Walter after the appointment and Walter has just seen
- 15:32Speaker 1: this couple walk by. Yeah, that reminds him of he
- 15:35Speaker 1: and his wife. But she Ellis calls and asks him
- 15:38Speaker 1: for help. The look of joy on Walter's face to
- 15:41Speaker 1: be needed, to be needed because he was struggling, right,
- 15:45Speaker 1: He was like, I can't do it all. I'm failing,
- 15:47Speaker 1: Like my water got turned off because I don't know
- 15:49Speaker 1: how to pay the bill and my wife did everything.
- 15:50Speaker 1: And now here's where he shine. He has a friend,
- 15:54Speaker 1: Ellis needs him. I just wanted to wrap him in
- 15:58Speaker 1: a hug. I was so glad for his joy in
- 16:01Speaker 1: that moment. Yeah, the same same. I just love their
- 16:05Speaker 1: relationship between Tara and Walter. M hmmm. It's such like
- 16:08Speaker 1: a nice supportive like father daughter. M right, you would
- 16:13Speaker 1: call it father daughter, don't you? I think so. But
- 16:16Speaker 1: what I was really glad was that Sylvie said, can
- 16:19Speaker 1: you give this number to your friend? Yeah? She didn't
- 16:21Speaker 1: make an assumption, Yeah yeah, yeah, we give this number
- 16:23Speaker 1: to your friends. And Sylvie is credited in many future episodes,
- 16:27Speaker 1: so we have not seen the last time. Let's talk
- 16:31Speaker 1: Chris and her pursuit of finding a new job. Uh huh.
- 16:36Speaker 1: I thought it was kind of funny, like Chris is
- 16:38Speaker 1: looking for something that fits what she's what she's doing.
- 16:42Speaker 1: But and I liked seeing kind of like all this
- 16:45Speaker 1: inside stuff, Like she goes to there Were first place
- 16:47Speaker 1: and is obviously maybe two hip, too cool for not
- 16:49Speaker 1: a culture match, not a culture match. Yeah, she's in
- 16:53Speaker 1: the beanbag and can't get amazing the pullback amazing. Loved it.
- 16:57Speaker 1: And then she's at the other place and she's like,
- 17:00Speaker 1: this isn't the talent that I'm Yeah, she's figuring out
- 17:02Speaker 1: what she doesn't want right, And that's so nice to watch,
- 17:06Speaker 1: especially being like my age, and I feel like that's
- 17:11Speaker 1: super relatable. I know she's a lot younger than me,
- 17:13Speaker 1: this actress and this character, but like she knows who
- 17:18Speaker 1: she is and that her instincts are probably right on,
- 17:23Speaker 1: not even about like this is not a fit for
- 17:25Speaker 1: me for this job, but like her instincts are right
- 17:27Speaker 1: on about Aria. So it's it's fun to watch and
- 17:30Speaker 1: I love all like we I already said it before,
- 17:32Speaker 1: but like how she and Nate have this like really
- 17:36Speaker 1: organic kind of friendship. M I love it, love her,
- 17:42Speaker 1: love her. Somebody on read it was like bagging on
- 17:45Speaker 1: the wigs she's wearing. Oh I don't I like it
- 17:49Speaker 1: bother me. No, it doesn't scream wig. It doesn't to
- 17:53Speaker 1: me either, but like maybe it's just because I'm not
- 17:55Speaker 1: familiar with wigs. So she such a striking look. I
- 18:02Speaker 1: just enjoyed looking at her. Me too, I like you said,
- 18:06Speaker 1: I like her relationship with Nate. And my second favorite
- 18:08Speaker 1: moment in the episode is when they're all just cozy
- 18:10Speaker 1: in the booth looking at the videos, and the way
- 18:12Speaker 1: they speak to each other is so comfortable and familiar,
- 18:16Speaker 1: and they talk about just wanting somewhere someone to just
- 18:19Speaker 1: be with. Yeah, and as someone on the outside, I
- 18:24Speaker 1: want Nate to let all of these people in because
- 18:27Speaker 1: he needs the support, and I understand why he doesn't
- 18:30Speaker 1: want to. He almost tells Ellis in the beginning of
- 18:33Speaker 1: the episode, Chris asks if he had a relaxing day
- 18:37Speaker 1: off and he says, in fact, I did not, and
- 18:39Speaker 1: then she just picks up the thread of the conversation.
- 18:42Speaker 1: I want him to let them in. My guess is
- 18:44Speaker 1: something is going to happen. Oh God, that lets them in. See,
- 18:48Speaker 1: that's that's the beauty of a show like this. And like,
- 18:51Speaker 1: also the hardest part for me is, like I'm waiting
- 18:55Speaker 1: for the other shoe to drop the entire time, and
- 18:57Speaker 1: I'm like, that's great television, it is, but also not
- 19:01Speaker 1: great for my mental health. I know, I know, I'm
- 19:04Speaker 1: worried about him, yes, and I'm worried about Walter. Yes,
- 19:09Speaker 1: I'm worried about all of them. Oh wow, Yeah, what's
- 19:14Speaker 1: going to happen when Aria finds out the truth about
- 19:16Speaker 1: her husband? And is that going to send her right
- 19:18Speaker 1: back into hiding so to speak? Right? What? What? Yeah? Obviously,
- 19:25Speaker 1: Well let's talk wishes first. Okay, let's talk wishes. I
- 19:27Speaker 1: only have one. Okay, I wish I could stop looking
- 19:30Speaker 1: for clues now. Yeah, this is very much a me thing.
- 19:34Speaker 1: We also we also recap and review a show called
- 19:37Speaker 1: The Way Home, which is a Hallmark show, but it's
- 19:40Speaker 1: also airing on Netflix for two seasons. Yeah, and that show,
- 19:44Speaker 1: to me, while I'm consuming I'm constantly looking for clues
- 19:48Speaker 1: on that show. Does that mean something? Does that mean?
- 19:50Speaker 1: Does that mean something? Is their context Hare is giving me?
- 19:53Speaker 1: So I wish that I could watch this without trying
- 19:58Speaker 1: to like solve I hear what you're saying. Yeah, you
- 20:02Speaker 1: want to take it in, you don't want to go?
- 20:04Speaker 1: Is that significant? Yeah? I feel the same way when
- 20:07Speaker 1: I watch it. And I watched this episode twice just
- 20:09Speaker 1: to make sure I didn't miss anything. I don't know
- 20:11Speaker 1: that there's a way around it. Get I think if
- 20:14Speaker 1: I were just watching it, I could consume it. But
- 20:16Speaker 1: I think in order to talk about it, I don't
- 20:19Speaker 1: know that there's a way to turn that off. Yeah, exactly.
- 20:22Speaker 1: I don't want to miss something so obvious, right. My
- 20:25Speaker 1: wishes are all just questions. I have things. I would
- 20:28Speaker 1: like more information about Aria's storyline. Rose is very resistant
- 20:32Speaker 1: to talking about Aria's father. Obviously, we get a little
- 20:37Speaker 1: bit of information in this episode that suggests that perhaps
- 20:41Speaker 1: Rose has lied to her. And I'd love to know
- 20:43Speaker 1: why Nate Pule's a red folder out of his bag. Yes,
- 20:49Speaker 1: I rewatched the episode to see if I had missed
- 20:51Speaker 1: the origin of that red folder, and I did not.
- 20:55Speaker 1: And I'm curious what's in there? Is it a treatment plan?
- 20:57Speaker 1: Is it more information? Is it financial information about his bar?
- 21:03Speaker 1: I don't know, but I'm he looks concerned. I would
- 21:09Speaker 1: like more time with Ellis. I think she suspects something
- 21:13Speaker 1: is going on with Nate. She doesn't know what it is,
- 21:15Speaker 1: but she does say that he's not looking all that great,
- 21:18Speaker 1: she knows he's sleeping in the bar. Perhaps she's just
- 21:21Speaker 1: concerned for him on that level. And I would like
- 21:25Speaker 1: more backstory on John and DESI big old cheaters that
- 21:28Speaker 1: they are. Does DESI know John's full story? Does she
- 21:31Speaker 1: know that he's married? That's a good question. How long
- 21:35Speaker 1: have they been together? Where is this going? All of
- 21:38Speaker 1: these questions, We've got a lot more episodes to get through.
- 21:41Speaker 1: I'm sure we'll get some of this, but that's that's
- 21:43Speaker 1: where I'm living right now. Yeah, for sure, me too. Okay,
- 21:49Speaker 1: before we keep going, we should probably talk about that
- 21:51Speaker 1: little seven day magic Mind experiment we did last week.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that thing that I thought would absolutely do nothing,
- 21:58Speaker 1: and somehow I did something. I tried it because my
- 22:01Speaker 1: afternoons have been rough, Like I'll sit down to work
- 22:04Speaker 1: and immediately think Nope, not today. And I tried because
- 22:09Speaker 1: my brain fog has been real. I can start the
- 22:12Speaker 1: day feeling like I'm on top of things, and then
- 22:14Speaker 1: by noon I'm like staring at the screen going like
- 22:18Speaker 1: what was I doing? So around day three of the
- 22:22Speaker 1: Magic Mind, I remember thinking like, oh, I'm just doing
- 22:25Speaker 1: my thing. I'm not pausing, going what are you doing? Wendy,
- 22:29Speaker 1: do you know what I mean. Yeah, the biggest thing
- 22:31Speaker 1: for me was that I wasn't scrambling to find my focus.
- 22:34Speaker 1: It's like my attention span stopped fighting with me. And
- 22:37Speaker 1: because it's not coffee level intensity, I wasn't jittery. I
- 22:40Speaker 1: could just sit and do the thing. I know you're
- 22:43Speaker 1: the kind of girl that's like, I can't drink a
- 22:45Speaker 1: coffee in the afternoon. Here's the thing for me. It
- 22:47Speaker 1: didn't like change my personality or fix my life in
- 22:51Speaker 1: any way, but it did make the week feel a
- 22:54Speaker 1: little bit easier, especially towards the end of the week,
- 22:57Speaker 1: where I'm like done, Yeah, smooth the edges, a little bit,
- 23:01Speaker 1: less fog, more focus, and if your brain feels like
- 23:04Speaker 1: a little cluttered browser window most days, this might help.
- 23:08Speaker 1: So if you are curious, we do have a link.
- 23:11Speaker 1: It's magicmind dot com. Slash Girls Gone twenty and the
- 23:15Speaker 1: code Girls Gone twenty gets you a discount. Try it
- 23:19Speaker 1: for seven days and see if it does anything for you.
- 23:21Speaker 1: We were surprised in a good way. Now, I want
- 23:28Speaker 1: to talk about the digits that section of this podcast. Typically,
- 23:32Speaker 1: you know, we are typically Hallmark movie reviewers, and this
- 23:35Speaker 1: segment was born out of continuity errors, bizarre things that
- 23:40Speaker 1: happen only in the Hallmark universe. Those things don't happen
- 23:44Speaker 1: quite as much in a Netflix level television show. And
- 23:49Speaker 1: so what I'm doing, what I think you're doing, is
- 23:50Speaker 1: using this segment to call out moments that needed a
- 23:53Speaker 1: second look. Sure, so let's hear some of your DIGITU
- 23:57Speaker 1: that moments. I don't have a ton and you talked
- 23:59Speaker 1: about it earlier, but I do think the details matter.
- 24:02Speaker 1: I feel like it's super rewarding when I see them
- 24:05Speaker 1: pull back on the coffee maker and it's dripping, dripping, dripping, dripping.
- 24:09Speaker 1: The episode is called drip, Drip, drip, Like. I love
- 24:13Speaker 1: those sort of elements added to it. The faucet is leaking, yes,
- 24:18Speaker 1: the water pressure is low, right. I like all those things. Yeah,
- 24:23Speaker 1: And maybe I'm I'm not gonna assume like those things
- 24:28Speaker 1: just wash over the regular viewer because you and I
- 24:31Speaker 1: watch with like an eye of like what does that
- 24:34Speaker 1: all mean? But I like it. I like it. I
- 24:38Speaker 1: do too. I like it my other did you see that?
- 24:42Speaker 1: I liked the tattoo reveal. Here we see Aria sees
- 24:48Speaker 1: this picture of her when she's little, and she doesn't
- 24:51Speaker 1: know who the people are in the picture, and this
- 24:53Speaker 1: guy has this tattoo. Fast forward to Tara listening to
- 24:58Speaker 1: Oriyan Oriyan, which is a sound bowl meditation. I assumed
- 25:04Speaker 1: it was music for some I mean, you know what
- 25:07Speaker 1: I mean. I assumed it was like rock music or like, yeah,
- 25:10Speaker 1: it's what Sylvie introduces her too. It's right because she's
- 25:12Speaker 1: like jamming out to it. But then we see it
- 25:14Speaker 1: on the app and I looked at it closely. It
- 25:17Speaker 1: was like the sound bowl. You can kind of if
- 25:19Speaker 1: you go back to the record store, you can kind
- 25:21Speaker 1: of hear it. Oh really, oh interesting, or I hallucinated.
- 25:26Speaker 1: I had a sound hallucination. But the picture on that
- 25:31Speaker 1: album is the tattoo. I'm like, how are they connected?
- 25:35Speaker 1: Is this Aria's dad? Right? Is he still alive? The
- 25:41Speaker 1: way the way Sylvie spoke about the artist, it seemed
- 25:43Speaker 1: like he was still alive. Yeah, yeah, exactly. Yeah. I don't,
- 25:48Speaker 1: I don't, I don't know. And my other question is
- 25:52Speaker 1: the whole conversation between Aria and her mom Ari. I mean,
- 25:56Speaker 1: her mom says to her something about like basically, why
- 26:00Speaker 1: did you come here last night? Like Ari oppresses her
- 26:05Speaker 1: about like her not talking about things, and the mom
- 26:07Speaker 1: presses right back, saying like, you don't talk about things,
- 26:10Speaker 1: which I was like, is that more about John? What's
- 26:16Speaker 1: more to understand here? Because the mom made a dig
- 26:18Speaker 1: about John in the first episode if you recall when
- 26:21Speaker 1: she's on the phone. I don't recall, and I don't
- 26:24Speaker 1: remember the context of it, but I do remember them
- 26:26Speaker 1: having a kind of a contentious phone call in the
- 26:29Speaker 1: first episode, and she does make a comment about him.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Did you notice her mom had like purple in her hair.
- 26:38Speaker 1: I noticed her mom didn't look old enough to be
- 26:39Speaker 1: her mom. Oh that wasn't it for me, But I
- 26:42Speaker 1: was like, Oh, her mom's kind of like a rocker chick.
- 26:45Speaker 1: How does that play into this situation here? If it does,
- 26:47Speaker 1: I don't know. I have just a couple did you
- 26:50Speaker 1: see that's look the first interviewer that Chris meets with
- 26:53Speaker 1: casually calling Coldplan and Avril Lavine oldies, please excuse me,
- 26:57Speaker 1: want to crumble into dust. We already talked about Chris
- 27:01Speaker 1: and the bean bag terror moment. The physical comedy of
- 27:04Speaker 1: it is great in a show that's not really all
- 27:06Speaker 1: that comedic. I don't know if you caught it. When
- 27:08Speaker 1: Aria is in her childhood bedroom and she gets up
- 27:10Speaker 1: and she's looking through her dresser. She picks up a
- 27:12Speaker 1: hair clip and it's broken. Yeah, there is something so
- 27:15Speaker 1: poetic about that. If you have ever moved out of
- 27:18Speaker 1: a space but you still have a room in your
- 27:22Speaker 1: childhood home. I have a college kid, so I'm familiar
- 27:26Speaker 1: with the stuff that gets left behind. Is like the
- 27:29Speaker 1: second favorite clothing and the chargers that don't really connect,
- 27:33Speaker 1: and you know, the mouse that needs batteries. It just
- 27:36Speaker 1: was very poetic, like, these are the she didn't throw
- 27:38Speaker 1: it away, she just moved it out of the way.
- 27:40Speaker 1: These are the kinds of things that get left behind
- 27:42Speaker 1: in your childhood room. And I just thought it was
- 27:45Speaker 1: a classic little set piece. Yeah. Well, that's a wrap
- 27:47Speaker 1: on our thoughts on Ripple episode two. We will be
- 27:50Speaker 1: back next week with a review of Ripple episode three.
