- 0:12Speaker 6: John Jay and Rich.
- 0:13Speaker 7: We're not talking about Ren 1010.
- 0:14Speaker 3: We're not talking about Lassie.
- 0:16Speaker 1: It's the one and only dog, y'all.

- 0:20Speaker 7: In your face to me and in the place to be.
- 0:22Speaker 3: And you're listening to John Jay and Rich.
- 0:24Speaker 8: Wake your ass up.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Rich, today's national.
- 0:27Speaker 3: It is National Drink Beer Day. It is National Good
- 0:31Speaker 3: Neighbor Day. I really like this. It is National Read
- 0:35Speaker 3: a Child a Book That You Like Day. And it
- 0:38Speaker 3: is National Ask a Stupid Question Day, which we should
- 0:42Speaker 3: get right behind on this show. But it's actually legit.
- 0:44Speaker 3: It was created to encourage students to ask questions without
- 0:48Speaker 3: worrying if they'll sound dumb or not. So Ask a
- 0:51Speaker 3: Stupid Question Day.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Got a text here. You can always text us.
- 0:55Speaker 9: You text JJR and whatever you want to say to 96893.
- 0:57Speaker 9: And there's a text here that says, you guys need
- 1:01Speaker 9: to add Dylan to the show as a regular. Dylan,
- 1:04Speaker 9: when you call our radio show, you get Dylan. Dylan,
- 1:07Speaker 9: you are a regular. You're on the show every day.
- 1:08Speaker 9: Unless you're traveling all the time. But one of the things,
- 1:13Speaker 9: so Dylan, how old are you, Dylan?
- 1:14Speaker 7: I'm 23.
- 1:14Speaker 9: 23 years old. And there's something that she shares behind
- 1:19Speaker 9: the scenes. But I feel that every single one of us,
- 1:22Speaker 9: except for Peyton, has this story. And it's about her face.
- 1:25Speaker 9: I know Rich has a story about his face. Kyle,
- 1:28Speaker 9: you got something done to your face?
- 1:30Speaker 10: Sure did.
- 1:31Speaker 9: I have this growth on my face. So, we start
- 1:34Speaker 9: off with Dylan's face. So, this is a face. We're
- 1:36Speaker 9: going to talk about faces today.
- 1:37Speaker 11: Face.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Face. But nothing's wrong with Peyton's face.
- 1:40Speaker 10: Sorry. I was just born like this.
- 1:42Speaker 11: I'm sorry.
- 1:42Speaker 3: I'm not sorry.
- 1:44Speaker 12: It's a beautiful face.
- 1:45Speaker 3: So, what do you do.
- 1:45Speaker 1: With your face?
- 1:46Speaker 13: So, are you talking about the spironolactone?
- 1:48Speaker 1: Yeah, something like that.
- 1:49Speaker 14: Yes.
- 1:50Speaker 1: It's a what? You texted me some long word that
- 1:52Speaker 1: I was supposed to know what it is.
- 1:53Speaker 15: Yes.
- 1:54Speaker 8: Okay.
- 1:54Speaker 13: So I have been an acne girl for a while.
- 1:57Speaker 13: Very acne prone person. Both my parents are very acne
- 2:00Speaker 13: prone and I played a lot of sports and everything.
- 2:02Speaker 7: So I've had a long journey there.
- 2:04Speaker 13: Lots of dermatologists, so many different topicals and antibiotics and everything.
- 2:08Speaker 7: And I finally just had enough.
- 2:10Speaker 13: I think it was about two years ago and I
- 2:13Speaker 13: went on Accutane, which is like very heavy duty.
- 2:16Speaker 3: I was on it.
- 2:17Speaker 7: It's hardcore.
- 2:18Speaker 1: It is.
- 2:18Speaker 13: I went on it for an entire calendar year and
- 2:22Speaker 13: it cleared up my skin pretty well.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Is it a pill?
- 2:24Speaker 7: Yes, it's a pill. It's pretty much like a high
- 2:27Speaker 7: dose vitamin A.
- 2:28Speaker 1: I feel like Justin Bieber did commercials for them.
- 2:30Speaker 10: No, he did Proactiv.
- 2:31Speaker 7: He did Proactiv, another acne product.
- 2:32Speaker 11: Which was crazy because he was knocking on people's doors
- 2:35Speaker 11: and was like.
- 2:35Speaker 7: Here's some Proactiv. You need some.
- 2:38Speaker 12: Does Proactiv use Accutane?
- 2:41Speaker 13: They use retinol, yes. So Accutane is kind of like
- 2:44Speaker 13: a retinol pill.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Okay, so you're taking this and how's your face?
- 2:46Speaker 13: So it's on Accutane and then basically I got acne
- 2:50Speaker 13: again because I think the type of acne I have
- 2:52Speaker 13: is more hormonal. So, I started taking something called spironolactone.
- 2:57Speaker 13: It's for hormonal acne. I've been on it for a
- 2:59Speaker 13: few months. And I think it's actually going well. It's
- 3:01Speaker 13: clearing them up pretty well, I would say.
- 3:03Speaker 1: I don't see acne on your face.
- 3:05Speaker 7: Yeah, it's okay now.
- 3:07Speaker 13: I'll definitely get some flare-ups, I would say, like if
- 3:09Speaker 13: I'm traveling a lot or if, you know, I'm stressed out.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Have you ever seen Kyle with a pimple? No, of
- 3:14Speaker 1: course not.
- 3:16Speaker 11: Kyle is like a perfect human being.
- 3:20Speaker 12: No, definitely not. Definitely not. I usually only like get
- 3:23Speaker 12: like if I'm under like super stress and I get
- 3:26Speaker 12: like the really deep underground ones.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Oh, this one. I had that here and I tried
- 3:30Speaker 1: to pop it too soon. That's the worst.
- 3:33Speaker 12: That's why I just try to like keep everything light, guys.
- 3:35Speaker 9: You know that one where it's on your, mine was
- 3:36Speaker 9: like on my lip and it's like the kind that hurts.
- 3:39Speaker 9: And then you try to pop it early.
- 3:40Speaker 12: And you can't pop it.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I can't pop it. I try to pop it and
- 3:42Speaker 1: then you push too much and the blood comes.
- 3:43Speaker 9: And you're constantly aware of it. And then I had
- 3:45Speaker 9: one over here the other day and I successfully popped
- 3:47Speaker 9: that one.
- 3:48Speaker 11: Well, you have to be careful, John Jay, because you
- 3:50Speaker 11: tend to get them in your triangle of death.
- 3:52Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 3:52Speaker 12: Which is scary, which is right here. Oh, that's what
- 3:54Speaker 12: that means.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Somebody must have been sick.
- 3:55Speaker 16: Yes.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Why would it pop in a triangle?
- 3:56Speaker 7: Because it could be a staph infection, I think.
- 3:58Speaker 11: Yes, and it can kill you, literally, from getting an infection, like,
- 4:01Speaker 11: straight to your brain. It's called the triangle of death.
- 4:03Speaker 15: Don't do it.
- 4:03Speaker 10: It's, like, right here in the middle of your face.
- 4:06Speaker 3: Right here.
- 4:07Speaker 10: This area.
- 4:07Speaker 3: So if you pop it in that triangle, it could
- 4:09Speaker 3: turn into a staph infection, and that is bad?
- 4:11Speaker 11: Yes.
- 4:12Speaker 7: Goes right to your.
- 4:13Speaker 9: Brain i have never heard that except for yesterday i
- 4:15Speaker 9: got a dm on that about the triangle and i
- 4:17Speaker 9: didn't know what they're talking about okay.
- 4:20Speaker 13: So real quick the stuff you're taking again.
- 4:23Speaker 11: Dylan's called what spironolactone the acne girls know exactly what
- 4:28Speaker 11: i'm talking.
- 4:29Speaker 1: About commercial for it's okay.
- 4:31Speaker 13: No this is like one of the things you do
- 4:34Speaker 13: like as a last resort it's kind of like yeah
- 4:36Speaker 13: it's a pill.
- 4:38Speaker 3: But it's not... Do you have to be careful about
- 4:39Speaker 3: the makeup you wear when.
- 4:40Speaker 17: You're on these stuff?
- 4:40Speaker 8: No.
- 4:40Speaker 13: So, like, it's very common with either an Accutane or
- 4:43Speaker 13: an antibiotic that, like, you have to be careful about
- 4:44Speaker 13: drinking or, like, it'll make you peel. But spironolactone is
- 4:48Speaker 13: not like that. I really haven't had too many side effects.
- 4:50Speaker 7: Haven't peeled.
- 4:51Speaker 13: I'm on a pretty low dose. But it hasn't made
- 4:54Speaker 13: me purge, which Accutane made me purge. I got a
- 4:57Speaker 13: whole bunch of acne all over my face.
- 4:59Speaker 14: Purge like food?
- 5:00Speaker 1: Purge, no.
- 5:01Speaker 13: So basically, everything will come to the surface and then.
- 5:05Speaker 7: It'll clear your skin. I've never heard purge like that.
- 5:08Speaker 14: Which is called purging, yes.
- 5:09Speaker 1: I know purge the movie.
- 5:10Speaker 13: I have literally pictures of every single month. It was
- 5:14Speaker 13: so bad all over my cheeks. It hurt so bad.
- 5:17Speaker 13: But then it completely cleared up after.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Are you willing to post these pictures?
- 5:21Speaker 13: I can post my grid of them, yeah.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Well, it'd be interesting to post it, and then we
- 5:24Speaker 1: could tag Spirulina and see if.
- 5:26Speaker 15: They're on it.
- 5:27Speaker 16: Spirulina.
- 5:28Speaker 12: We need to get Spirulina.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Maybe it would have been worth it while you do
- 5:31Speaker 1: commercials for them.
- 5:32Speaker 8: Yeah, that's true.
- 5:33Speaker 13: Well, I don't know if Spironolactone is necessarily a brand.
- 5:36Speaker 13: It might be just like a- The medical term of
- 5:39Speaker 13: the medication. It's like RX, yeah, like the medication term,
- 5:41Speaker 13: but it could be.
- 5:42Speaker 7: Maybe it is, actually.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Okay, here's the big question, though. Kyle, can you say it?
- 5:46Speaker 4: No.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Say it.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Try it.
- 5:47Speaker 12: Say it again.
- 5:47Speaker 7: Spironolactone.
- 5:49Speaker 12: Spironolactone.
- 5:50Speaker 7: There you go.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Rich, what's wrong with your face?
- 5:53Speaker 3: Totally different story. I came home from a little trip.
- 5:56Speaker 3: John Jay and I flew out of town. I came
- 5:58Speaker 3: back and I was having lunch with my lovely bride, Stacy.
- 6:01Speaker 3: And she's like, oh, my God, what did you do?
- 6:04Speaker 3: Does it hurt? I'm like, what are you talking about?
- 6:06Speaker 3: She's like, your face. It is all swollen on this side.
- 6:09Speaker 3: What happened? I'm like, nothing. She's like, does it hurt?
- 6:12Speaker 3: I'm like, no. She's like, go look at yourself. Go
- 6:16Speaker 3: look in the mirror. You're all, you're like puffy on
- 6:18Speaker 3: the left side where your eye is. So I go
- 6:21Speaker 3: walk from the kitchen table into the bathroom and it
- 6:25Speaker 3: just looks like my face to me. I don't know
- 6:26Speaker 3: what she was seeing.
- 6:27Speaker 1: I see it every day.
- 6:30Speaker 12: Generally alarmed.
- 6:34Speaker 3: And she called in my son, Christopher, and he's like, Yeah,
- 6:36Speaker 3: it does kind of look messed up. Like, there's nothing wrong.
- 6:39Speaker 3: It's just how my face is. So that's my face story.
- 6:42Speaker 1: You need Spirulactin.
- 6:43Speaker 11: It's just your face?
- 6:46Speaker 3: That's so funny. There was no answer to that, by
- 6:48Speaker 3: the way. We just put a picture up on Instagram
- 6:50Speaker 3: of your face. What's wrong with Rich's face?
- 6:53Speaker 7: Does this look okay to everyone?
- 6:55Speaker 3: She asked me if I was okay, if it hurt.
- 6:58Speaker 9: Well, you know those things where you say, can you
- 6:59Speaker 9: spot the difference? What's wrong with Rich's face? Just let
- 7:02Speaker 9: people go. That's what they say.
- 7:04Speaker 3: I didn't think about it until I was doing our
- 7:07Speaker 3: show prep and I'm like, I wonder what that was
- 7:08Speaker 3: all about because all I did was come home.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Here's the post.
- 7:13Speaker 9: The post is a picture of your face. And then
- 7:15Speaker 9: you can swipe. So the first post is like, what's
- 7:17Speaker 9: wrong with your face? And then people comment. And then
- 7:20Speaker 9: swipe and it'll be like, nothing, this is his face.
- 7:23Speaker 9: But you're going to read all the comments.
- 7:25Speaker 7: Take a guess what's wrong with his face.
- 7:27Speaker 3: She's going, did you get punched? Did you get hit?
- 7:29Speaker 3: Did you run into something?
- 7:30Speaker 4: No.
- 7:30Speaker 11: Was she just staring at you for a long time? Because,
- 7:32Speaker 11: you know, sometimes when you're looking at someone for a
- 7:34Speaker 11: while and you're like, ugh.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Yeah, she's like, what have I done?
- 7:37Speaker 12: What?
- 7:38Speaker 7: She's like, ew, check your face.
- 7:40Speaker 1: What have I done? She goes outside and you.
- 7:43Speaker 12: Just hear, no!
- 7:45Speaker 3: It's like being gone for a day or so for
- 7:47Speaker 3: her to figure it out. Poor dear.
- 7:50Speaker 12: It's your husband, though.
- 7:52Speaker 14: Exactly, which is why she was caught off guard.
- 7:55Speaker 1: That's our face break. That's all about our faces.
- 7:59Speaker 12: Check in with John Jay and Rich. And hit the
- 8:07Speaker 12: top back mic.
- 8:09Speaker 1: What's the vibe today for horoscopes for Peyton's predictions?
- 8:12Speaker 11: Well, it's Monday, so I'm letting you know what your
- 8:14Speaker 11: go-to office attitude is based on your zodiac sign. If
- 8:18Speaker 11: it's your birthday today, you are a Libra, and you
- 8:20Speaker 11: share a birthday with Sienna Spiro, Hilary Duff, Frankie Jonas,
- 8:24Speaker 11: and Olivia Jade.
- 8:25Speaker 1: I think we have a Libra on the line besides
- 8:27Speaker 1: Kyle in the studio. Am I right, Trudy?
- 8:29Speaker 4: Yes, I'm a Libra.
- 8:30Speaker 1: All right.
- 8:32Speaker 12: Awesome.
- 8:32Speaker 18: How are you guys?
- 8:33Speaker 10: Good.
- 8:34Speaker 3: How are you?
- 8:35Speaker 4: Good.
- 8:36Speaker 3: Good.
- 8:36Speaker 15: Okay.
- 8:37Speaker 11: Libras, I am letting you know what your attitude is
- 8:40Speaker 11: when you get to work. You kind of hit them
- 8:42Speaker 11: with the classic, I am so sorry for the delay.
- 8:45Speaker 10: Things have just been crazy.
- 8:47Speaker 11: When you actually saw the email last Friday afternoon and
- 8:49Speaker 11: you chose to ignore it so you didn't have to
- 8:51Speaker 11: make that decision.
- 8:52Speaker 6: Sounds about right.
- 8:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:57Speaker 11: Whoops.
- 8:57Speaker 16: Uh-oh.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Trudy, thanks for listening.
- 9:02Speaker 6: Sounds about right.
- 9:03Speaker 16: Hey, can I give a shout out to my son?
- 9:05Speaker 19: It's actually his birthday today.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Let's do it.
- 9:08Speaker 10: What's his name?
- 9:09Speaker 17: Happy birthday, Kiernan.
- 9:11Speaker 10: Happy birthday.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Thanks, Trudy.
- 9:15Speaker 19: Thank you, guys.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Bye. Hello, Holly. What's your sign?
- 9:19Speaker 20: Aquarius.
- 9:20Speaker 11: All right, Aquarius, the kind of attitude that you guys
- 9:22Speaker 11: bring to work, you send a three-paragraph reply challenging the
- 9:27Speaker 11: entire structure of a basic project because you refuse to
- 9:30Speaker 11: follow a corporate template, which is going to leave your
- 9:33Speaker 11: boss completely confused, exhausted, and thinking if they're going to
- 9:35Speaker 11: fire you.
- 9:36Speaker 17: Oh, well, okay.
- 9:38Speaker 20: I kind of get that, but Holly's way is always
- 9:40Speaker 20: the best way. I feel like I think outside of
- 9:42Speaker 20: the box way before anybody else.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Yeah, let's go, girl.
- 9:45Speaker 6: Yes.
- 9:46Speaker 3: Get them out of here.
- 9:48Speaker 20: One quick question, John Jay. What happened with your nose?
- 9:51Speaker 1: What do you mean my nose?
- 9:52Speaker 3: What's wrong with it? What's wrong with your face?
- 9:54Speaker 20: The skin thing. I had the same thing happen, so
- 9:56Speaker 20: I wonder what happened with yours.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Oh, my nose?
- 9:59Speaker 20: Yeah, you had that little... Skin, like at your, you
- 10:02Speaker 20: went to a dermatologist and you had something scraped or something.
- 10:06Speaker 1: Oh, you're talking, you mean it was on the, I
- 10:08Speaker 1: had one on the side of my face. They said
- 10:10Speaker 1: it might be a, um.
- 10:11Speaker 20: Oh, your face.
- 10:11Speaker 1: The mose.
- 10:12Speaker 21: Sorry.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Okay.
- 10:13Speaker 1: The mose thing.
- 10:14Speaker 20: Okay. I wanted to know.
- 10:15Speaker 3: You had mose on your nose? No.
- 10:17Speaker 1: So what happened?
- 10:17Speaker 9: So, you know, I'm glad you had interesting, it's actually
- 10:20Speaker 9: an interesting turnout. So they, they thought I had a something, right?
- 10:25Speaker 1: You've had a.
- 10:25Speaker 12: A basal cell.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Basal cell something. So they scraped it off. Yep.
- 10:28Speaker 9: And then I had a full body MRI and I
- 10:30Speaker 9: had my whole body tested. This is six months later.
- 10:32Speaker 9: Cause it's been, cause the doctor, my doctor said, wait
- 10:34Speaker 9: for it to grow back. Cause I was like, I
- 10:36Speaker 9: don't believe that I had whatever.
- 10:38Speaker 1: And it's gone. I don't have it anymore. It's gone.
- 10:40Speaker 1: And I think it has.
- 10:41Speaker 9: To do with, I did these things called NK cells
- 10:44Speaker 9: in January, natural killer cells. And what they do is
- 10:47Speaker 9: they eat cancer. And I think that's, I'm giving you
- 10:50Speaker 9: the short version, but for anyone listening, you're curious, Google
- 10:53Speaker 9: natural killer cells.
- 10:55Speaker 1: And that's what I had.
- 10:56Speaker 20: There's really not much you don't do.
- 10:58Speaker 1: This is true.
- 11:00Speaker 14: This is true.
- 11:01Speaker 1: So it's gone. I don't have the glial scar coma
- 11:04Speaker 1: or whatever the hell it was. Basal cell anemia. It's gone. Thanks. Yeah.
- 11:09Speaker 1: So check it out. Google natural, natural killer cells. Thanks, Holly.
- 11:13Speaker 20: All right, guys.
- 11:14Speaker 16: Thanks.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Bye. How about Pisces?
- 11:16Speaker 11: Yeah, Rich, when it comes to you and your attitude
- 11:18Speaker 11: at work, you will stare at a blank draft for
- 11:22Speaker 11: 20 minutes trying to figure out how to say no
- 11:25Speaker 11: without sounding mean. You have overthought the tone of every
- 11:28Speaker 11: single period, and you end up adding like four unnecessary
- 11:31Speaker 11: exclamation points and emojis so everyone thinks and knows that
- 11:34Speaker 11: you're super sweet.
- 11:35Speaker 3: All right. Well, hard to deny that. Yeah.
- 11:39Speaker 1: You are super sweet. How about Leo's?
- 11:42Speaker 4: I'm a Leo.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Yeah, Leos.
- 11:43Speaker 11: We will forward a task we could have easily done
- 11:46Speaker 11: ourself to like an intern or a co-worker with a
- 11:49Speaker 11: caption of, can you just take the lead on this?
- 11:51Speaker 11: Just so we can maintain the illusion that we only
- 11:53Speaker 11: handle high-level strategy.
- 11:54Speaker 1: Let's wrap up with the Virgos.
- 11:56Speaker 11: Yeah, John Jay, for you, the attitude that you bring
- 11:59Speaker 11: to work, you will open up your email as soon
- 12:01Speaker 11: as you clock in and immediately start micromanaging everyone else's timeline.
- 12:05Speaker 11: You have pointed out three separate typos on a shared
- 12:07Speaker 11: document before anyone else has even finished their first cup
- 12:10Speaker 11: of coffee.
- 12:12Speaker 9: That happens the night before I go to bed and
- 12:13Speaker 9: first thing I do when I wake up and first
- 12:15Speaker 9: thing I do when I come in here.
- 12:17Speaker 10: It sounds stressful.
- 12:18Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly.
- 12:19Speaker 15: Loosen up a little bit.
- 12:20Speaker 1: All right. If we didn't get to your sign there,
- 12:23Speaker 1: I'll post it on our website, johnjainrich.com.
- 12:31Speaker 3: Hello.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Good morning, John Jay and Rich. Can I help you?
- 12:34Speaker 4: Hi, this is Marcus. And I was just wondering if
- 12:37Speaker 4: I could ask you guys' opinion on something.
- 12:39Speaker 1: All right, Marcus. You got it.
- 12:41Speaker 4: So, I recently started seeing somebody who's a streamer, right?
- 12:46Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 12:47Speaker 4: And while she streams, you know, typical thing where women stream,
- 12:53Speaker 4: guys are in there, like, you know, like trying to
- 12:57Speaker 4: talk to them, right?
- 12:58Speaker 3: Right.
- 12:58Speaker 1: And then they send their money.
- 13:01Speaker 19: Right.
- 13:02Speaker 4: Right. But this is not like an OS thing.
- 13:06Speaker 16: Right.
- 13:06Speaker 4: It's on like another streaming service. Right.
- 13:09Speaker 10: Right, right.
- 13:10Speaker 4: So, but the thing is, There was a recent incident
- 13:14Speaker 4: where somebody that she's known in the streaming world for, like,
- 13:19Speaker 4: a few years. And this guy was being, like, overtly
- 13:24Speaker 4: sexual with, like, talking to her.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Uh-huh.
- 13:27Speaker 4: And she was just, like, laughing and, like, not really, like,
- 13:30Speaker 4: saying anything about it. Like, just kind of, like... She
- 13:32Speaker 4: was just, like, that's how he is. So she didn't really, like,
- 13:36Speaker 4: feel a need to, like, tell him to tone it
- 13:38Speaker 4: down or.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Like, to cut that out. Mm-hmm.
- 13:40Speaker 15: And so.
- 13:42Speaker 4: I mentioned to her that I thought that's not okay
- 13:45Speaker 4: and that that was disrespectful to our relationship. And she
- 13:48Speaker 4: made it to seem like I shouldn't trip about it
- 13:52Speaker 4: because that's just how he is. And because she knows,
- 13:56Speaker 4: she knows that nothing's going to happen, that I should
- 13:59Speaker 4: just brush it under the.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Rug kind of thing.
- 14:01Speaker 9: Well, let me ask you this. How long have you
- 14:03Speaker 9: been seeing her? You said recently, right? You just started
- 14:05Speaker 9: seeing her?
- 14:06Speaker 4: Probably since like mid-July.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Okay. And was she a streamer before you met her?
- 14:12Speaker 4: Right.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Okay. And is this her way she makes money? Kind of. Okay.
- 14:17Speaker 4: Like she's starting over because she used to stream somewhere else.
- 14:21Speaker 9: I have a friend, a friend of mine's girlfriend does
- 14:24Speaker 9: this for a living too. She's a bartender and then,
- 14:26Speaker 9: and then she'll stream on kick or on Twitch and
- 14:29Speaker 9: she will be like, uh, she's opening cards, Pokemon cards.
- 14:32Speaker 9: And she usually does it like in a uniform, like
- 14:33Speaker 9: in a real sexy outfit, you know? And the Pokemon, the, the, the,
- 14:37Speaker 9: what's that called? When they're that, that, The cosplay?
- 14:39Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 14:40Speaker 9: She'll be in a cosplay thing, and she's not being dirty,
- 14:44Speaker 9: but people are being dirty to her while she's opening it,
- 14:47Speaker 9: and then they're sending her money. And she's making a
- 14:49Speaker 9: ton of money, a lot of money off of this thing.
- 14:51Speaker 9: She'll go on for two hours and make 500 bucks
- 14:53Speaker 9: or something, right? So it's kind of like, she was
- 14:55Speaker 9: doing that before you met her, and my friend, who
- 14:58Speaker 9: is the boyfriend of this girl, he gets it. So
- 15:00Speaker 9: he's like, yeah, whatever. She doesn't interact with him privately,
- 15:03Speaker 9: only when she's on Twitch.
- 15:05Speaker 3: Yeah, and she's saying she's not reacting to this guy,
- 15:06Speaker 3: and she's like... Yeah, he's over whatever. And she laughs
- 15:10Speaker 3: it off. So the thing is, do you trust her
- 15:12Speaker 3: to be cool? If you trust her to be cool
- 15:14Speaker 3: and handle herself, then you don't have a problem. But
- 15:17Speaker 3: if it's one of those things that gets under your
- 15:19Speaker 3: skin and you don't want anybody talking to your person
- 15:22Speaker 3: like that, well, then put a ring on it and
- 15:24Speaker 3: then talk about some boundaries.
- 15:25Speaker 12: Or maybe then that's just not the right relationship for
- 15:27Speaker 12: you if that's something she's going to want to keep
- 15:29Speaker 12: doing and pursuing. Because, I mean, there probably is some
- 15:33Speaker 12: element of, like, her playing a little bit of a
- 15:35Speaker 12: character on the stream. And she can't really break character
- 15:39Speaker 12: and be like, that's inappropriate. Because then that's going to, like,
- 15:41Speaker 12: I guess maybe turn away some of her followers.
- 15:43Speaker 3: Yeah, that's part of the rules of engagement, I guess.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Unless that's how you met her and you're going to
- 15:49Speaker 1: dinner with her.
- 15:49Speaker 12: Then you can understand why you'd be jelly.
- 15:51Speaker 1: How did you meet her, Marcus?
- 15:52Speaker 4: I met her through streaming. The thing is, like, it
- 15:55Speaker 4: wasn't like, she's not like that on the stream.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Right, right, right, right.
- 15:59Speaker 4: Like, she's just kind of, like, there.
- 16:01Speaker 1: How many followers does she have?
- 16:02Speaker 4: Like, playful, probably less than 200.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Oh. Well, I think we gave you good advice, so
- 16:07Speaker 1: it's a, what do you think?
- 16:09Speaker 9: Will we go undercover? We'll flirt with her? We'll create
- 16:12Speaker 9: a fake account, flirt with her, and see if we
- 16:13Speaker 9: can get her to meet us for dinner?
- 16:14Speaker 22: I don't know.
- 16:16Speaker 4: I just feel like a boundary should be set to
- 16:19Speaker 4: where it's, like, you don't have to, like, you don't
- 16:21Speaker 4: have to, like, be rude or whatever about it. Like,
- 16:24Speaker 4: you can easily say, like, you don't appreciate, like, like,
- 16:29Speaker 4: You know, like, we can tone down on the sexual comments.
- 16:31Speaker 12: But she wasn't flirting back. Was she flirting back?
- 16:35Speaker 4: Well, when he said something about, like, she was just like,
- 16:42Speaker 4: she didn't say no. It was just a thing.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Well, yeah, she's got to play along. She's making money.
- 16:47Speaker 1: What do you say? I'm going to be all up.
- 16:48Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh.
- 16:49Speaker 12: That's gross.
- 16:50Speaker 14: All right, Marcus.
- 16:53Speaker 3: Smooth talker, that guy.
- 16:54Speaker 20: Good luck.
- 16:54Speaker 1: Send me your link. I'll let you know what happens. Thanks, brother.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Thanks for listening.
- 16:59Speaker 10: Having trouble getting through on the phone?
- 17:00Speaker 12: Text John Jay and Rich anytime.
- 17:02Speaker 14: Send JJR, then your message to 96893.
- 17:04Speaker 11: Did you know that most of us are fake when
- 17:08Speaker 11: it comes to being at work? Like, we have this
- 17:10Speaker 11: fake work personality. 67% of people change parts of their
- 17:14Speaker 11: personality to fit their workplace culture.
- 17:16Speaker 3: Really? Yeah. I don't know if that works well here
- 17:19Speaker 3: on the show.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Would it?
- 17:20Speaker 3: You really couldn't.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Well, go on. What do you mean?
- 17:22Speaker 11: Well, so basically, it's like, People say that their personality
- 17:26Speaker 11: at work is very different than who they are in
- 17:29Speaker 11: their everyday life. And a lot of Gen Z's and
- 17:31Speaker 11: millennials reported doing this. It's essentially just code switching all
- 17:34Speaker 11: the time. Me at work, I am totally myself, but
- 17:37Speaker 11: I'm also a completely different person when I go back
- 17:39Speaker 11: home to my man.
- 17:41Speaker 4: You know what I mean?
- 17:41Speaker 1: So does that mean you're faking it when you're here?
- 17:42Speaker 12: Sometimes.
- 17:44Speaker 6: Really?
- 17:45Speaker 3: I don't think I've seen like a different version of Peyton.
- 17:47Speaker 7: That's actually not true.
- 17:48Speaker 1: It's not that I hate it.
- 17:50Speaker 11: It's just that I have different personalities that come out
- 17:52Speaker 11: around different people.
- 17:53Speaker 12: That makes sense because most people feel like they have
- 17:55Speaker 12: to be professional. Like there's a different, I guess, etiquette
- 17:59Speaker 12: that you have to have at work that you don't
- 18:01Speaker 12: have to have at home.
- 18:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I see Peyton like she's like a vampire that
- 18:05Speaker 3: can walk during the day because I've seen her, you know,
- 18:07Speaker 3: talk to people that are, you know, in their early
- 18:11Speaker 3: 20s and you've got all that. But then you hang
- 18:13Speaker 3: out a lot with your grandma and your mom so
- 18:15Speaker 3: you can talk to older people too. I've seen you
- 18:17Speaker 3: definitely switch that.
- 18:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 18:19Speaker 3: And you can go like in between the two like
- 18:22Speaker 3: very easily.
- 18:23Speaker 11: I feel like it's a skill that a lot of
- 18:24Speaker 11: people have to master. But 67% of people are completely
- 18:29Speaker 11: different people when they get home.
- 18:30Speaker 1: That's so weird. I'm trying to imagine that because I
- 18:33Speaker 1: know when you come to work, you've got to be
- 18:34Speaker 1: a little bit more proper. You've got to be nicer.
- 18:36Speaker 9: But are you a different person? Like, are you faking it?
- 18:40Speaker 9: So what is an extreme version of that? Someone comes
- 18:42Speaker 9: to work and they're like Peyton and then you go
- 18:44Speaker 9: home and they are kicking dogs?
- 18:46Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe she's just really quiet at home.
- 18:47Speaker 10: Oh, yikes.
- 18:48Speaker 3: What if Peyton was super quiet at home and just
- 18:50Speaker 3: didn't say anything to anybody?
- 18:51Speaker 1: That's impossible.
- 18:51Speaker 8: That would be really odd.
- 18:56Speaker 9: Melanie, Peyton just shared this story with us, how a
- 18:58Speaker 9: lot of people are fake at work.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Are you?
- 19:01Speaker 23: I guess you could say that, in a way. Everyone
- 19:05Speaker 23: thinks that I'm this boring suburban mom, that I've been
- 19:09Speaker 23: married 12 years, I'm on the PTA, I work in HR.
- 19:14Speaker 23: But what they don't know about me is I... Every
- 19:17Speaker 23: other weekend, my husband and I fly to Vegas because
- 19:19Speaker 23: I work as a professional dominatrix.
- 19:21Speaker 1: What?
- 19:22Speaker 8: Okay.
- 19:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:24Speaker 12: That would be a different person at work.
- 19:27Speaker 8: My husband does my books, but....
- 19:30Speaker 23: I'm not, yeah, don't read.
- 19:32Speaker 8: A book by its cover. Don't judge a book by
- 19:34Speaker 8: its cover.
- 19:35Speaker 23: Because I have a whole life no one knows about.
- 19:39Speaker 3: That feels like you're a PTA mom and all that stuff.
- 19:42Speaker 3: That seems like that's something that would show up in
- 19:44Speaker 3: the Daily Mail. That's going to be a story at
- 19:46Speaker 3: some point if you ever get busted.
- 19:48Speaker 11: PTA mom is a professional dominatrix.
- 19:50Speaker 18: Right.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Why don't you just tell people what to do on
- 19:52Speaker 3: the PTA? Just boss them around. Just kind of like
- 19:55Speaker 3: interchange them.
- 19:55Speaker 1: A little bit. So when you say you're coworkers, then
- 19:57Speaker 1: what do you do for a living in real life?
- 19:59Speaker 8: I work in HR.
- 20:00Speaker 5: Wow.
- 20:04Speaker 3: So, I mean, that's all ultimate.
- 20:05Speaker 9: That's just like a lot of the people that I mean,
- 20:08Speaker 9: there's a whole TV show my sister created on this
- 20:09Speaker 9: of only moms.
- 20:11Speaker 1: Like there's moms and they have only fans accounts, but
- 20:13Speaker 1: they have.
- 20:14Speaker 9: In fact, you hear about like that cop got fired
- 20:17Speaker 9: because she had a very successful only fans and someone
- 20:19Speaker 9: recognized her.
- 20:20Speaker 1: So that's a perfect example of that. Maybe that's who
- 20:23Speaker 1: the survey's on. People like Melanie.
- 20:24Speaker 22: You've got to make extra money somehow.
- 20:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess so. All right, Melanie. Well, thank you
- 20:28Speaker 1: for calling in.
- 20:29Speaker 23: We're not paid enough.
- 20:30Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 20:30Speaker 3: You can sell stuff on Poshmark. I don't know if
- 20:32Speaker 3: you need to be a dominatrix.
- 20:34Speaker 1: Can you yell at Rich like a dominatrix and tell
- 20:36Speaker 1: Rich what to do?
- 20:36Speaker 3: Tell me what to do.
- 20:38Speaker 24: Go to bed, you bad boy.
- 20:42Speaker 3: I can see why she's making a lot of extra
- 20:43Speaker 3: money on the side. That was sensational.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Good morning, Gabby. How are you?
- 20:51Speaker 3: Good.
- 20:52Speaker 24: How are you?
- 20:53Speaker 15: All right.
- 20:53Speaker 1: So are you fake at work?
- 20:55Speaker 19: Yes, you are.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Okay. Tell us a little bit about what you do
- 20:58Speaker 1: for a living and how, how you're, you have a
- 21:00Speaker 1: lie that you're living.
- 21:02Speaker 16: So I currently work at Sephora, and one crazy thing
- 21:07Speaker 16: that my coworkers don't know about me, but I definitely
- 21:11Speaker 16: do have a tattoo on my butt. And nobody knows
- 21:19Speaker 16: about it, but it's definitely kind of like a secret saying,
- 21:22Speaker 16: you know, if someone knows and I'm, like, close to them, like,
- 21:25Speaker 16: you know what, I'll tell you the inside and let
- 21:26Speaker 16: you know, like, yeah, I do. Okay. But yeah, it's
- 21:33Speaker 16: just something that like none of my coworkers know. So,
- 21:37Speaker 16: well now they do.
- 21:38Speaker 1: So where is it on your butt and what is it?
- 21:41Speaker 16: It's actually, it's really crazy.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Go on.
- 21:48Speaker 24: It's, it's on my right butt cheek but it's definitely
- 21:53Speaker 24: my ex's name wow.
- 21:59Speaker 16: Now what it was so long ago you know what
- 22:02Speaker 16: let's just go at it let's just have fun like
- 22:05Speaker 16: whatever you know junk town day on the town whatever
- 22:09Speaker 16: and yeah they all convinced me and I was like
- 22:11Speaker 16: sure whatever they all pitched in the money for it
- 22:14Speaker 16: and they paid for it for me so I was
- 22:16Speaker 16: like you know what fine I'll.
- 22:16Speaker 9: Do it Is it in cursive? Is it in spray paint?
- 22:20Speaker 9: Like what, what's the logo look like of his name
- 22:22Speaker 9: and what is his name?
- 22:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:26Speaker 16: So it's actually in cursive and his name is Brandon.
- 22:29Speaker 3: That's a long name.
- 22:32Speaker 16: It's really tiny. So like nobody really like, you can't.
- 22:37Speaker 8: Really notice it, but definitely.
- 22:39Speaker 3: Why couldn't his name have been like TJ?
- 22:42Speaker 1: So are you dating anybody now?
- 22:45Speaker 16: No, I'm currently single, which I'm so glad to be.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Have you hooked up with anybody since Brandon?
- 22:53Speaker 16: Yes.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Were they ever like at some point like, hey, the hell?
- 22:59Speaker 1: They figure maybe it's like a lint.
- 23:02Speaker 16: No, they definitely are kind of worried, but I will
- 23:04Speaker 16: say I keep it dark.
- 23:05Speaker 20: Okay.
- 23:10Speaker 1: They're back they're back to they don't want to bother
- 23:12Speaker 1: you oh she's got some lint that doesn't come off
- 23:15Speaker 1: hey oh my god Brandon that's.
- 23:19Speaker 16: Crazy no literally like don't even look don't even.
- 23:21Speaker 1: Look is it covered by a bathing suit if you
- 23:24Speaker 1: wear a bathing.
- 23:24Speaker 14: Suit Actually, no.
- 23:27Speaker 16: Well, kind of. I mean, it's kind of a little
- 23:30Speaker 16: bit hidden, but I'd have to really wear, like, a
- 23:33Speaker 16: covered bottom bathing suit. It can't be anything, like, cheeky.
- 23:37Speaker 3: The brand part's exposed.
- 23:39Speaker 7: Yeah, exactly.
- 23:41Speaker 16: Yes, exactly.
- 23:43Speaker 1: So the next question, obviously, Gabby, can we get a
- 23:45Speaker 1: picture so we can post it on our stories on Instagram?
- 23:47Speaker 16: Oh, my God.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Come on.
- 23:50Speaker 11: I think we have the visual of Gabby's right booty cheek.
- 23:53Speaker 15: Right?
- 23:55Speaker 1: Gabby, you can really help our Instagram explode.
- 23:58Speaker 16: I'll think about it. I'll think about it.
- 24:02Speaker 15: Okay.
- 24:03Speaker 1: All right, Gabby. Thanks for sharing that story with us.
- 24:07Speaker 16: Yeah, thank you. Have a wonderful day.
- 24:09Speaker 1: It's John Jay and Rich.
- 24:14Speaker 12: This is John Jay and Rich.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Hey, it's time for Stacks and Hacks. I have stacks
- 24:19Speaker 1: of information. Rich has life hacks. Get this.
- 24:22Speaker 9: Guy went viral on social media after he filmed himself
- 24:26Speaker 9: picking up a DoorDash order at the scene of a
- 24:28Speaker 9: crash that involved his delivery driver.
- 24:31Speaker 1: So picture that.
- 24:32Speaker 3: So he sees on the map where his order is.
- 24:36Speaker 1: When he goes to the crash, the guy's probably like, oh, God.
- 24:38Speaker 1: He goes, oh, is that my McDonald's?
- 24:39Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Here's part of the audio.
- 24:41Speaker 7: I DoorDashed some food, and my DoorDasher told me he
- 24:45Speaker 7: got in a car accident And he was like, I
- 24:50Speaker 7: can come meet him and get.
- 24:51Speaker 3: The food from him. I think that's my food right there.
- 24:55Speaker 3: I'm about to go get my food.
- 24:56Speaker 1: What's going on, bro?
- 24:57Speaker 14: You the door dasher?
- 24:59Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 25:01Speaker 6: You all right?
- 25:02Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 25:02Speaker 20: Thank you, man.
- 25:03Speaker 4: You good?
- 25:04Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm right down the street.
- 25:06Speaker 14: I'm like, let me come grab my food.
- 25:08Speaker 1: I'm so sorry, bro.
- 25:10Speaker 4: You got an accident bringing me my food.
- 25:12Speaker 1: And then he just walks away.
- 25:14Speaker 3: Well, he was nice enough.
- 25:15Speaker 12: Glad to see you're safe.
- 25:17Speaker 1: You're starving, man.
- 25:18Speaker 12: You're starving.
- 25:19Speaker 1: What are you going to do? I guess everyone really
- 25:22Speaker 1: is into pickles. Wall Street Journal says pickle-flavored snacks grew 30%
- 25:25Speaker 1: in sales over the last year. Yeah, I like that.
- 25:28Speaker 1: I'm not going to lie.
- 25:29Speaker 10: Most of them aren't very good, though.
- 25:31Speaker 3: What do you mean?
- 25:32Speaker 10: They're not.
- 25:33Speaker 11: I mean, like, some companies have gotten the pickle flavor down.
- 25:37Speaker 3: Trader Joe's pickle chips.
- 25:38Speaker 11: Others have not. See, I don't feel like Trader Joe's
- 25:41Speaker 11: has gotten where they need to be yet.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Have you had the Siete pickle chips?
- 25:45Speaker 16: No.
- 25:45Speaker 9: A brand called Siete is so damn good, and the
- 25:47Speaker 9: pickle chips are fantastic.
- 25:49Speaker 12: Are they like actual pickles that they've made into chips,
- 25:52Speaker 12: or are they chips with flavored pickle flavor?
- 25:53Speaker 1: They look like normal Lay's potato chips, but they're pickle flavored.
- 25:56Speaker 9: And I feel like that Siete brand I heard is healthy,
- 25:59Speaker 9: so I just eat them.
- 26:01Speaker 11: I saw Elf did a pickle flavored lip gloss, so
- 26:03Speaker 11: like it's, I mean, it's all over the place.
- 26:05Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 26:05Speaker 9: All right, so get this. A bear wandered into an
- 26:09Speaker 9: arcade in Colorado. And the article says, despite warnings from policing.
- 26:15Speaker 1: Don't you go in there. Like that's going to stop
- 26:17Speaker 1: the bear.
- 26:18Speaker 4: Right.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Don't go in the arcade.
- 26:20Speaker 12: He doesn't know what you're saying.
- 26:22Speaker 3: All right.
- 26:24Speaker 1: So someone online is confused because they reported to HR
- 26:28Speaker 1: somebody grooming a younger employee, grooming a younger employee. So
- 26:32Speaker 1: when they got investigated, it turns out that the employee
- 26:35Speaker 1: was talking to another employee about beekeeping. beekeeping. I don't
- 26:40Speaker 1: know the story. I don't know what happened.
- 26:41Speaker 9: I don't know why, but the person said they're grooming
- 26:43Speaker 9: them and HR got involved and they did an investigation.
- 26:46Speaker 1: They're like, what's he talking about? Growing bees. Raising bees, yeah.
- 26:50Speaker 3: There must be a lot of double entendre.
- 26:52Speaker 1: This is a big one. The share of young adults
- 26:55Speaker 1: living with their parents has jumped about one-third over the
- 26:59Speaker 1: last two decades, reaching nearly 20% last year. Peyton's one
- 27:03Speaker 1: of those.
- 27:04Speaker 3: There you go.
- 27:04Speaker 1: Two of my kids live in my house right now.
- 27:07Speaker 1: That's kind of a big deal. Japanese people live really
- 27:10Speaker 1: long lives. The birth rate in Japan is relatively low.
- 27:15Speaker 1: So adult diapers outsell baby diapers in Japan.
- 27:18Speaker 15: Wow.
- 27:19Speaker 3: That's pretty crazy.
- 27:21Speaker 10: That's crazy.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Does anybody know when the first selfie was taken?
- 27:25Speaker 10: Like 2006 or something like that, right?
- 27:27Speaker 12: No, it's got to be like, when was the camera invented?
- 27:30Speaker 3: 1890.
- 27:31Speaker 10: 1890.
- 27:32Speaker 1: The first selfie was taken in 1839. A guy in
- 27:35Speaker 1: Philadelphia named Robert Cornelius took a self-portrait while he was
- 27:37Speaker 1: experimenting with a new camera.
- 27:39Speaker 10: That would make sense.
- 27:41Speaker 9: And to wrap up my part of Stacks and Hacks,
- 27:44Speaker 9: big article about rock stars and their fake names.
- 27:48Speaker 1: And I was like, whoa, this is interesting. I didn't
- 27:51Speaker 1: know this.
- 27:52Speaker 9: Some of these rock stars, like Alice Cooper lives here.
- 27:54Speaker 9: I knew his name was Vincent, right? I don't think
- 27:56Speaker 9: I even knew that.
- 27:57Speaker 1: Vincent Furnier.
- 27:58Speaker 4: Furnier.
- 27:58Speaker 1: Furnier. Billy Idol. His name is William Broad.
- 28:03Speaker 17: Huh.
- 28:03Speaker 1: Bono.
- 28:05Speaker 3: Paul Hewson.
- 28:06Speaker 1: David Bowie.
- 28:07Speaker 3: Oh, I didn't know that wasn't his real name.
- 28:09Speaker 1: No, no.
- 28:09Speaker 9: David Bowie's real name is David Robert Hayward Jones.
- 28:12Speaker 1: Huh. Do you know what Eddie Vedder's real name is?
- 28:14Speaker 8: No.
- 28:15Speaker 1: Edward Louis Severinsen III. Elton John.
- 28:20Speaker 3: Oh, Reginald Dwight.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Reginald Kenneth Dwight. Do you know what Eric Clapton's name is?
- 28:25Speaker 3: No.
- 28:26Speaker 1: Eric Patrick Clap. Do you know what Freddie Mercury's real
- 28:29Speaker 1: name is?
- 28:31Speaker 3: Oh, it's like Freddie Bressorda, something like that.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Farruka Bulsara. Do you know who Shyam Witts is?
- 28:38Speaker 16: No.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Gene Simmons. John Francis Bongiovi Jr.
- 28:45Speaker 3: Bongiovi.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Do you know who Frank Carlton Serafino Farana Jr.
- 28:50Speaker 3: Is? Of course, that's Frank Sinatra.
- 28:53Speaker 1: Nikki Sixx.
- 28:54Speaker 3: Oh.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Do you know who Patricia Mae Andrzoski is?
- 28:59Speaker 15: No.
- 28:59Speaker 1: Pat Benatar.
- 29:00Speaker 3: Oh.
- 29:01Speaker 1: Do you know who Richard Louis Springthorpe is?
- 29:03Speaker 3: Bruce Springsteen?
- 29:05Speaker 1: Rick Springfield.
- 29:05Speaker 3: Oh, Rick Springfield. Oh, wow.
- 29:06Speaker 1: Do you know who Richard Starkey is?
- 29:09Speaker 3: Ringo Starr.
- 29:10Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Do you know who Stephen Victor Tallarico is?
- 29:13Speaker 3: Tallarico. Is that Stephen Perry?
- 29:15Speaker 1: Stephen Tyler.
- 29:16Speaker 3: Stephen Tyler.
- 29:17Speaker 1: Do you guys know who Steve Land Hardaway Judkins is?
- 29:20Speaker 16: No.
- 29:20Speaker 10: Steve Harvey.
- 29:21Speaker 1: Stevie Wonder.
- 29:23Speaker 23: Oh.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Do you know who Thomas Lee Bass is?
- 29:25Speaker 16: No.
- 29:26Speaker 1: Tommy Lee. From Motley Crue.
- 29:28Speaker 3: Wild.
- 29:28Speaker 1: I know. What do you got for life, Hacks Rich?
- 29:29Speaker 1: Stevie Wonder.
- 29:30Speaker 3: I thought it was just Stevie Wonder all this time.
- 29:32Speaker 3: You guys noticed that you're starting to see more spiders around, right?
- 29:35Speaker 1: Not me. I got green mango.
- 29:37Speaker 3: Well, good for you. But if you don't, and if
- 29:39Speaker 3: you're in an apartment, this works out. especially great for
- 29:40Speaker 3: my apartment people. Spray a little homemade barrier that we're
- 29:44Speaker 3: going to tell you how to make. Vinegar with a
- 29:47Speaker 3: little bit of dish soap. Spray it around the outside
- 29:50Speaker 3: window frames and doorways. That strong smell helps discourage spiders
- 29:54Speaker 3: from hanging around. But here's the real thing. You've got
- 29:57Speaker 3: to seal the tiny cracks and gaps around your windows
- 29:59Speaker 3: and doors, too. So spray that around, and spiders will
- 30:03Speaker 3: not come in. You don't want those little guys hanging
- 30:06Speaker 3: around inside your apartment or your house. Try that trick,
- 30:09Speaker 3: and if you need the little mix-up for your little
- 30:10Speaker 3: water bottle, it's at johnjanrich.com.
- 30:13Speaker 15: 180 degree dating.
- 30:26Speaker 14: Any guesses?
- 30:28Speaker 3: Any guesses in the room? I want to guess. Okay, go.
- 30:31Speaker 3: The type that you go for hasn't worked. So you
- 30:33Speaker 3: do something that's totally against your type.
- 30:34Speaker 12: Ding, ding, ding.
- 30:35Speaker 15: Literally.
- 30:36Speaker 11: It's a new trend called 180 degree dating. So after
- 30:39Speaker 11: a breakup, you intentionally date someone who's the complete opposite
- 30:43Speaker 11: of your normal type.
- 30:44Speaker 10: So basically, this is my theory.
- 30:45Speaker 11: It's like your type is actually your problem. So if
- 30:48Speaker 11: your last four relationships ended the same way, and all
- 30:51Speaker 11: four people are basically the same person in different fonts,
- 30:53Speaker 11: you need to switch it up. So if you usually
- 30:55Speaker 11: date athletes, date the nerdy dude. If you're always dating
- 30:57Speaker 11: an extrovert, date the quiet guy. If you want a
- 30:59Speaker 11: tall guy, give short kings a chance, okay? They know
- 31:02Speaker 11: how to throw it down, let me tell you.
- 31:04Speaker 3: Short kings try harder.
- 31:06Speaker 12: They really do, okay?
- 31:07Speaker 11: If you always date bad boys, just try something else.
- 31:11Speaker 12: It makes sense because, John Jay, you've told the story
- 31:13Speaker 12: a lot about how your sister said she would never
- 31:15Speaker 12: date this, this, and this, and then she ended up
- 31:17Speaker 12: marrying that, that, and that.
- 31:18Speaker 1: That's Exactly right.
- 31:18Speaker 9: She, she was dating, she was going to UCLA and
- 31:21Speaker 9: she was dating like GQ models and stuff.
- 31:23Speaker 1: It was great. George Clooney's hairstylist.
- 31:25Speaker 12: So fly on.
- 31:26Speaker 1: So random. Yeah, I know.
- 31:28Speaker 9: And then she was like, well, I will never date
- 31:31Speaker 9: a guy with tattoos who's missing teeth or bald.
- 31:33Speaker 1: And that's who she's married to. He's bald. He's missing teeth.
- 31:37Speaker 1: And he's got covered in tattoos.
- 31:38Speaker 12: And they've got such a great marriage.
- 31:40Speaker 1: They've been married 20 years, over 20 years.
- 31:41Speaker 12: Opposites truly attract.
- 31:43Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 31:44Speaker 1: That's crazy. Macy, are you familiar with this 180 dating trend?
- 31:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:51Speaker 1: Yeah? Tell us about it.
- 31:52Speaker 19: Yeah.
- 31:53Speaker 6: Full flip upside down like Harry Styles was talking about.
- 31:56Speaker 6: If you're listening to the lyrics, they're upside down.
- 31:59Speaker 15: Right?
- 32:01Speaker 1: Right.
- 32:02Speaker 6: And now they're back, like 180. They worked it out.
- 32:08Speaker 6: Am I right?
- 32:08Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 32:09Speaker 3: Are you going somewhere with it? I have no idea
- 32:11Speaker 3: what you're talking about.
- 32:11Speaker 12: Is this related to your story?
- 32:13Speaker 16: It's a 180 flip.
- 32:14Speaker 6: It's a 180 flip.
- 32:15Speaker 23: Like they were backwards.
- 32:16Speaker 6: Things weren't working out. And now 180, it's all better.
- 32:19Speaker 1: What Harry Styles song is that?
- 32:21Speaker 6: It's the circles. They're running in circles.
- 32:26Speaker 1: Oh, I know post Malone circles.
- 32:28Speaker 6: We will.
- 32:30Speaker 15: We need to listen.
- 32:33Speaker 1: We're trying to win those tickets.
- 32:37Speaker 6: I think that's what I think 180 dating is, right?
- 32:40Speaker 16: No?
- 32:41Speaker 4: Close?
- 32:42Speaker 10: Yeah, I mean, yeah, you got it.
- 32:44Speaker 6: Yes, see? Okay, so I won something, right? I win, like,
- 32:48Speaker 6: the pride of winning.
- 32:50Speaker 3: Sure. Yeah, take that.
- 32:51Speaker 6: Do you want to, do you need to hear about
- 32:53Speaker 6: how horrible my dating life is?
- 32:55Speaker 18: Sure.
- 32:56Speaker 6: Because I feel like you need to know. Okay, so I'm, I... Admittedly,
- 33:00Speaker 6: I'm kind of like a dumpster fire dater person. I
- 33:03Speaker 6: just have a horrible picker. My radar for anything is
- 33:09Speaker 6: totally off, especially according to my friends because they.
- 33:13Speaker 12: See life clearly, I guess.
- 33:15Speaker 6: Um, cause I had my third breakup with like basically
- 33:19Speaker 6: the same exact man in a different body.
- 33:22Speaker 4: Okay.
- 33:23Speaker 6: So my girlfriend staged an actual intervention for me. They
- 33:27Speaker 6: took my hinge, changed my preferences and made a rule
- 33:30Speaker 6: that I wasn't allowed to swipe for myself for 30 days. Um,
- 33:34Speaker 6: And I was, like, freaking out. I'm like, are you
- 33:36Speaker 6: kidding me right now? Like, I have no say at all.
- 33:39Speaker 6: And they were like, no, girl, sit down. Like, they
- 33:42Speaker 6: picked my dates. So they send me out with this
- 33:44Speaker 6: guy that I would have never, ever chosen. Like, no shade,
- 33:48Speaker 6: but he's bald.
- 33:49Speaker 8: Okay.
- 33:50Speaker 24: A little baldy.
- 33:51Speaker 1: 5'7.
- 33:53Speaker 6: Basically my height, um, and owns Crocs in multiple colors, uh,
- 33:59Speaker 6: works in it. So total tech nerd, you know, and
- 34:03Speaker 6: his idea of like a wild Friday is Costco and
- 34:06Speaker 6: watching date light. And my friends were like, he's perfect.
- 34:10Speaker 6: And I came home from our first date and I
- 34:11Speaker 6: was like, He's terrible. Like, absolutely not. Zero butterflies. And
- 34:17Speaker 6: my best friend was like, good, because your butterflies are
- 34:21Speaker 6: messed up. Like, my butterflies have historically been a warning
- 34:26Speaker 6: from my nervous system, apparently.
- 34:28Speaker 16: I don't know.
- 34:28Speaker 6: So she's like, girl, sit down. I'm choosing. This is
- 34:32Speaker 6: your guy. Anyway, fast forward. It's been two years.
- 34:36Speaker 17: We're engaged.
- 34:38Speaker 3: Oh, you're engaged to Costco?
- 34:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 34:41Speaker 5: Yes.
- 34:42Speaker 6: Well, guess what? He proposed to me there at Costco.
- 34:47Speaker 6: Like freaking Costco.
- 34:49Speaker 19: Yeah.
- 34:50Speaker 6: So right next to the Roots of Three Tickets, they're
- 34:52Speaker 6: like going around in circles and my toxic ass said yes.
- 34:56Speaker 3: Cute.
- 34:57Speaker 12: I did not see that coming.
- 34:58Speaker 3: Yeah, that was not the ending we were looking for.
- 35:01Speaker 3: So the 180 for you.
- 35:02Speaker 6: I didn't either. What did what?
- 35:05Speaker 3: The 180 for you worked out.
- 35:06Speaker 16: 180 for me.
- 35:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 35:08Speaker 6: I was like the little rotisserie chicken.
- 35:10Speaker 1: Well, that's what they say. Try the 180 routine. It's
- 35:12Speaker 1: not working for you one way. So go the other way.
- 35:14Speaker 1: So it worked. That's great.
- 35:16Speaker 16: I swear.
- 35:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:17Speaker 6: Same thing with like bedding. Like if I think that
- 35:20Speaker 6: on red, it's black. If I think it's going up,
- 35:23Speaker 6: it's down. So just like, don't trust my instincts.
- 35:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Well, thank you, Macy, for sharing that 180 rule. It works.
- 35:29Speaker 1: The trend works.
- 35:30Speaker 3: Circles.
- 35:31Speaker 9: Christina, we're talking about the 180 rule. You're dating someone
- 35:36Speaker 9: totally different. Is that what you're calling about?
- 35:38Speaker 1: Yes, I am.
- 35:39Speaker 4: Okay.
- 35:40Speaker 1: Tell us your story.
- 35:41Speaker 19: Face tattoos.
- 35:42Speaker 16: What? I am a conservative.
- 35:45Speaker 22: Girl and I'm dating a guy with face tattoos.
- 35:49Speaker 3: How did he even get your attention?
- 35:51Speaker 6: It's Facebook dating.
- 35:53Speaker 15: Okay.
- 35:54Speaker 6: I was just on there for fun.
- 35:56Speaker 1: Okay. So you look at his profile, you see face tattoos.
- 35:59Speaker 1: What made you follow through?
- 36:01Speaker 3: Curiosity.
- 36:01Speaker 4: Okay.
- 36:03Speaker 1: And how long have you been with him now?
- 36:04Speaker 20: 10 months.
- 36:06Speaker 3: Cute.
- 36:06Speaker 5: All right.
- 36:07Speaker 9: And where are the tattoos and what are they and
- 36:10Speaker 9: how much of his face is covered?
- 36:13Speaker 6: He has two under his, one under the left eye
- 36:16Speaker 6: and one under the right eye.
- 36:17Speaker 17: And it's Arizona.
- 36:18Speaker 3: Oh, that's nice.
- 36:20Speaker 15: Oh, good.
- 36:20Speaker 10: I thought they were going to be like teardrops.
- 36:22Speaker 12: I was like, okay, I'm glad they're not teardrops.
- 36:25Speaker 1: You said it's Arizona. And what's the other one?
- 36:28Speaker 24: It's the wildcat paw print.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Oh, wow.
- 36:32Speaker 3: Wow.
- 36:33Speaker 1: It's a weird place to put that under your eye.
- 36:35Speaker 3: I mean, he loves his Arizona.
- 36:36Speaker 10: He's a proud fan.
- 36:37Speaker 3: Wow.
- 36:37Speaker 6: It's just like having the black mark.
- 36:39Speaker 10: Underneath your eyes.
- 36:40Speaker 3: Why didn't you put him a little lower on his body?
- 36:42Speaker 3: Why in his face? I hope he went to U
- 36:44Speaker 3: of A. He's like, what's that? U of A, what's that?
- 36:48Speaker 4: It's a prison tattoo.
- 36:53Speaker 1: Was he in prison?
- 36:54Speaker 5: Yes.
- 36:55Speaker 12: It actually was.
- 36:56Speaker 3: Oh, it's a teardrop cover-up.
- 36:58Speaker 12: Whoever gave it to him went to you.
- 37:00Speaker 14: All right, Christina.
- 37:05Speaker 12: Oh, man.
- 37:06Speaker 1: All right. That's so funny.
- 37:08Speaker 3: Sounds like you got yourself a keeper.
- 37:09Speaker 1: Yeah, thanks, Christina. Thanks for sharing that one. That's a
- 37:11Speaker 1: big one.
- 37:11Speaker 11: Thank you, guys.
- 37:12Speaker 1: All right. Nobody can beat that.
- 37:14Speaker 12: She's so cute.
- 37:19Speaker 1: I want to be next to you.
- 37:22Speaker 14: Have a story to share?
- 37:23Speaker 1: Hit up John Jay and Rich right now at 1-877-937-1047.
- 37:25Speaker 1: Or text JJR and call me to 96893.
- 37:37Speaker 11: Okay, so I'm a newlywed, right? And it has been
- 37:39Speaker 11: so much fun. Like, we just passed our six-month mark. But, Rich,
- 37:42Speaker 11: you know, you're still in that newlywed. You and Stace
- 37:44Speaker 11: have been together for, like, a little over two and
- 37:46Speaker 11: a half years. Kyle, like, a decade worth of love.
- 37:49Speaker 11: John Jay, a couple of decades worth of love. Yeah,
- 37:52Speaker 11: and so I actually have some weird pieces of marriage
- 37:55Speaker 11: advice that low-key make sense.
- 37:57Speaker 1: Weird marriage advice.
- 37:58Speaker 10: Like, yeah, they're just a little bit different.
- 38:00Speaker 3: You know, it's not the don't go to bed angry stuff.
- 38:02Speaker 3: It's other stuff.
- 38:03Speaker 12: Exactly.
- 38:04Speaker 10: It's the other stuff.
- 38:05Speaker 1: So if you go over it and we can discuss it.
- 38:08Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 38:08Speaker 1: I'll see. OK, go ahead.
- 38:10Speaker 11: So number six is be afraid to lose each other.
- 38:13Speaker 11: So compete over who can show more love and like
- 38:16Speaker 11: not literally fear and competition, but the idea is to
- 38:18Speaker 11: never get so comfortable competing. That you stop making yourself
- 38:21Speaker 11: feel wanted and appreciated. I know, Rich, you and Stacey
- 38:24Speaker 11: are like adamant on your Friday night dates, which.
- 38:27Speaker 3: I think is awesome. If I didn't take her out,
- 38:29Speaker 3: she'd probably go out with somebody else.
- 38:32Speaker 1: Well, you're saying you said something, but then you made it,
- 38:35Speaker 1: you tied into going out.
- 38:36Speaker 10: So be afraid to lose each other.
- 38:39Speaker 3: Have that fear.
- 38:40Speaker 11: Have that fear that, hey, if I don't step up
- 38:43Speaker 11: and I don't show up in this relationship, that they
- 38:45Speaker 11: might see something else and go for that.
- 38:46Speaker 1: It doesn't mean going out, though.
- 38:48Speaker 10: It doesn't mean that.
- 38:49Speaker 12: But maybe for some people it does because that's how
- 38:50Speaker 12: you stay connected.
- 38:51Speaker 1: Like for my wife, she always wants to play backgammon.
- 38:53Speaker 25: Yeah.
- 38:54Speaker 1: Always wants to play backgammon.
- 38:56Speaker 11: So make sure you bring her flowers so she doesn't
- 38:57Speaker 11: want to play backgammon with someone else.
- 38:59Speaker 1: Bring her flowers so she doesn't play badgammon? With someone else.
- 39:02Speaker 1: Why don't I just play badgammon with her?
- 39:04Speaker 12: Well, you could, but the idea is to be afraid.
- 39:06Speaker 1: Because when I beat her, I'm like, in your face.
- 39:08Speaker 10: John Jay's not afraid.
- 39:10Speaker 12: Remember when one guy was like hitting on Blake and
- 39:13Speaker 12: you were like, eh.
- 39:14Speaker 14: Yeah, I guess that's nice.
- 39:16Speaker 1: He gave her flowers. I was like, that's nice.
- 39:18Speaker 10: Of a guy.
- 39:19Speaker 3: Bring her flowers, look at that.
- 39:22Speaker 1: All right, go ahead. That's good, Peyton.
- 39:24Speaker 10: Here's another one.
- 39:25Speaker 11: So keep the TV out of the bedroom. Go to
- 39:29Speaker 11: bed together and actually.
- 39:30Speaker 4: Talk.
- 39:30Speaker 11: So less screen time can mean more conversation and better
- 39:32Speaker 11: sleep and more intimacy.
- 39:34Speaker 1: I just screwed that. I need TV.
- 39:35Speaker 3: TV should be everywhere.
- 39:38Speaker 12: So far, we're 0 for 2 with Josh.
- 39:41Speaker 1: My wife, she reads in bed. And the only reason
- 39:44Speaker 1: I don't watch TV in bed, true story, is it
- 39:47Speaker 1: won't turn on.
- 39:49Speaker 12: You'd have to like get up out of bed.
- 39:50Speaker 9: I've got to figure out if I think I might
- 39:52Speaker 9: need new batteries or something like that. And those speakers
- 39:55Speaker 9: kind of acting kind of weird. I got to have
- 39:56Speaker 9: a guy come fix it.
- 39:57Speaker 3: Well, you know what? If that were me, that would
- 39:58Speaker 3: have been done yesterday. Right.
- 39:59Speaker 9: So I've been watching TV downstairs a lot. So, uh,
- 40:03Speaker 9: but I think watching TV in bed is important.
- 40:05Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 40:05Speaker 3: Plus you can talk about the show.
- 40:07Speaker 1: Okay. Go ahead.
- 40:08Speaker 15: Okay.
- 40:09Speaker 11: Bring your spouse a cold drink on a hot day.
- 40:12Speaker 11: The drink isn't the point. It's the, I was just
- 40:14Speaker 11: thinking about you gesture that can matter more than the
- 40:17Speaker 11: occasional like grand romance.
- 40:19Speaker 1: I like that.
- 40:20Speaker 12: I like that. It's a little thing.
- 40:22Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 40:23Speaker 1: I always, okay.
- 40:23Speaker 9: And I don't say always, but I, there's a lot
- 40:25Speaker 9: of times where I will go when I, my, when
- 40:28Speaker 9: I leave the gym, her, one of her favorite, is
- 40:31Speaker 9: the AJ's green tea.
- 40:33Speaker 1: So I will go to AJ's and get her green
- 40:35Speaker 1: tea and bring it to her.
- 40:37Speaker 3: Nice.
- 40:37Speaker 1: That's strong.
- 40:38Speaker 3: Very strong.
- 40:39Speaker 1: That's a good one. That's a good one. I agree
- 40:41Speaker 1: with that one.
- 40:41Speaker 11: Okay, before you start an argument or before you get
- 40:44Speaker 11: into an argument, Eat something because you might actually not
- 40:47Speaker 11: be mad at them. You're probably just hangry. And a
- 40:49Speaker 11: little snack can make us all feel a little bit better.
- 40:52Speaker 3: I've heard that's true for guys, for sure.
- 40:53Speaker 7: Except for my thing.
- 40:54Speaker 11: Is that if I'm mad, I'm not going to sit
- 40:56Speaker 11: there and be like, hmm, I think I.
- 40:58Speaker 10: Need a granola bar.
- 40:59Speaker 11: You know, like I'm going to light you up.
- 41:01Speaker 3: I had a therapist tell me many times, actually, that
- 41:04Speaker 3: they would preach this. And I can't see this working, but,
- 41:07Speaker 3: you know, it kind of makes sense. They say if
- 41:09Speaker 3: you're really mad, you're getting ready to have a fight
- 41:11Speaker 3: with your sick other, you should kiss them. They're like,
- 41:15Speaker 3: if you kiss, then you're less likely to yell with
- 41:18Speaker 3: your mouth if you're actually kissing. But I can't see
- 41:21Speaker 3: being so pissed at somebody like, hey, you want to
- 41:22Speaker 3: make out? I can't see that going with a yes.
- 41:25Speaker 12: No, I would not want to kiss you.
- 41:26Speaker 11: If my husband came to me and tried to kiss
- 41:28Speaker 11: me in the middle of arguing, I would probably try
- 41:29Speaker 11: to bite his lips off.
- 41:30Speaker 3: See, yeah.
- 41:31Speaker 12: Yeah that's like a dangerous move.
- 41:33Speaker 11: Dangerous move for sure okay never go to bed with
- 41:37Speaker 11: dirty dishes and not like it's not about the dirty
- 41:40Speaker 11: dishes right it's about like actually like doing something together
- 41:43Speaker 11: and winding down together and having that chance to talk
- 41:47Speaker 11: and you're less likely to fight over who's doing all
- 41:49Speaker 11: the work if you.
- 41:49Speaker 3: Do it together we.
- 41:52Speaker 12: Go to bed with dirty dishes in our sink all
- 41:54Speaker 12: the time.
- 41:56Speaker 9: I tell my wife, it's okay if there's dirty dishes
- 41:58Speaker 9: in the sink. And she freaks, she will not go
- 42:00Speaker 9: to bed with dirty dishes in the sink. But it
- 42:02Speaker 9: doesn't bother me. But I'm not going to go with
- 42:03Speaker 9: her and clean them.
- 42:05Speaker 11: Well, these are just weird pieces of marriage advice that
- 42:07Speaker 11: low-key make sense. Here's the last one, which I am
- 42:11Speaker 11: totally on board with. Get a king-size bed. You can
- 42:15Speaker 11: cuddle when you want to and you have your own
- 42:17Speaker 11: space when you don't. Plus, if you have kids and
- 42:18Speaker 11: they climb in, nobody gets a foot to the face.
- 42:20Speaker 11: And I'm like, the more space in the bed, the better.
- 42:24Speaker 1: I'm a big fan of the foot in the face.
- 42:27Speaker 12: Yes, of course you are, John Jay.
- 42:29Speaker 9: I have some advice I think that is a good one.
- 42:32Speaker 9: We try to do a six second or longer hug.
- 42:35Speaker 9: Six to 20 seconds.
- 42:36Speaker 3: That's great.
- 42:37Speaker 1: If you go out, and I do it with my
- 42:38Speaker 1: kids too, you go out of your way and hold,
- 42:40Speaker 1: you think about it, that's kind of a long time.
- 42:41Speaker 3: Yeah, it is.
- 42:42Speaker 1: But it creates something between you and the other person.
- 42:45Speaker 3: That's really good.
- 42:46Speaker 12: It is actually like, Like the chemistry in your body
- 42:49Speaker 12: changes after a certain amount of time.
- 42:51Speaker 1: But six seconds is really good. We'll even be like, one, two, three.
- 42:56Speaker 10: At that point, it sounds like that would just be
- 42:58Speaker 10: like a chore.
- 42:59Speaker 9: I just feel like it recharges my kids when I
- 43:02Speaker 9: do it. Anybody else?
- 43:03Speaker 1: Other advice?
- 43:04Speaker 11: All right.
- 43:04Speaker 1: If you got any weird advice, let us know. Text it.
- 43:06Speaker 1: JJR to 96893. Yeah. Yeah.
- 43:08Speaker 12: I said what I said.
- 43:16Speaker 1: And some of the prizes we have today, we get
- 43:18Speaker 1: Matt Reif tickets, Becky G tickets. We're also going to
- 43:21Speaker 1: play Minute to Win It like in five minutes. Jessica,
- 43:25Speaker 1: and that's a thousand bucks. Jessica, what's up? Good morning.
- 43:28Speaker 25: Hi, how are you guys?
- 43:29Speaker 1: Hi, how are you?
- 43:30Speaker 16: I'm good.
- 43:32Speaker 25: I listen to you guys every single morning and I
- 43:34Speaker 25: have forever. I'm actually at work right now hiding because
- 43:37Speaker 25: I was so excited that I got a call to
- 43:40Speaker 25: get on air.
- 43:41Speaker 1: Oh, what can we do for you?
- 43:42Speaker 4: Okay.
- 43:44Speaker 25: I texted last week and said that I have a
- 43:46Speaker 25: new job where I have to get up extremely early
- 43:48Speaker 25: like you guys do, and I want your best tips
- 43:51Speaker 25: on how I can do that and be functional.
- 43:54Speaker 8: During the day.
- 43:55Speaker 25: So give me all your best things. John Jay, I
- 43:58Speaker 25: know that you.
- 43:59Speaker 8: Like cold plunge in the morning. I don't do that.
- 44:01Speaker 3: Okay.
- 44:03Speaker 9: Well, let's try this because Peyton is the newest member
- 44:06Speaker 9: on the show.
- 44:07Speaker 1: How do you handle it? Peyton, what do you do
- 44:08Speaker 1: when you get up so early?
- 44:09Speaker 11: I mean, when I– I mean– I just, I need
- 44:14Speaker 11: a lot of quiet time, first and foremost, to start
- 44:17Speaker 11: off my morning and get myself in that mood. But yeah,
- 44:20Speaker 11: I'm not like John Jay. I know John Jay has
- 44:21Speaker 11: like a whole ritual and a whole thing that he.
- 44:23Speaker 12: Goes through, but.
- 44:26Speaker 1: No tips?
- 44:26Speaker 25: No, it's so hard.
- 44:27Speaker 11: Yeah, no, I mean, for me, yeah, my tips is like,
- 44:30Speaker 11: I think I just have to like be with myself
- 44:31Speaker 11: for a little bit to kind of get started because
- 44:34Speaker 11: our days are always so crazy and never, never expected.
- 44:37Speaker 1: What about you, Rich?
- 44:38Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 44:38Speaker 3: I think you have to shower in the morning. I
- 44:40Speaker 3: don't think the shower the night before. is good enough
- 44:43Speaker 3: because you wake up and you've got that layer of
- 44:45Speaker 3: sheet on you. Sheet.
- 44:47Speaker 1: Sheet.
- 44:48Speaker 3: I'm saying sheet. I don't like that. You've just got
- 44:51Speaker 3: to wake up and start fresh. I mean, you don't
- 44:52Speaker 3: always have to, you know, like wash your hair or everything,
- 44:54Speaker 3: but like I do all the things. I shave, I
- 44:56Speaker 3: brush the teeth, I floss, you know, stretch, but I
- 45:00Speaker 3: like a shower in the morning because that kind of
- 45:02Speaker 3: gets you ready for a new chapter. And I think
- 45:04Speaker 3: that's the one non-negotiable is the shower.
- 45:06Speaker 1: Jessica, what time do you wake up?
- 45:09Speaker 8: Well, what time do I or should I?
- 45:12Speaker 17: Both.
- 45:12Speaker 8: I should wake up at like 4.45.
- 45:14Speaker 25: I usually wake up at like 5.15. And I work
- 45:18Speaker 25: with teenagers, so I have to wake them up when
- 45:20Speaker 25: I get here. I'm in like a residential home for
- 45:22Speaker 25: behavioral health with teens. And so I'm waking them up
- 45:25Speaker 25: when I'm like half asleep and grumpy.
- 45:28Speaker 8: And I drink a lot of coffee, but it does
- 45:30Speaker 8: not help.
- 45:30Speaker 1: What about you, Kyle? What's a tip you have?
- 45:32Speaker 12: My tip is eat a good breakfast. And I read
- 45:36Speaker 12: once that an apple contains like more energy for your
- 45:39Speaker 12: body and more natural energy for your body than a
- 45:41Speaker 12: cup of coffee. So I suggest eating an apple.
- 45:44Speaker 4: Oh, look.
- 45:45Speaker 8: I'm going to go eat an apple immediately. They're all
- 45:48Speaker 8: cooking breakfast in the kitchen and I'm hiding.
- 45:50Speaker 1: Do some stretches too.
- 45:51Speaker 9: I agree with Rich. The shower. The shower can do it.
- 45:54Speaker 9: Take a nice warm shower and then crank it cold
- 45:56Speaker 9: for like 30 seconds.
- 45:57Speaker 3: Yeah, that's great.
- 45:59Speaker 25: I'm only going to do that because you guys say so.
- 46:02Speaker 1: And then do some stretching. I do a lot of stretching.
- 46:04Speaker 1: But thank you for listening, Jessica. Thank you for listening.
- 46:06Speaker 8: Oh, my God, always.
- 46:07Speaker 1: Oh, you are awesome. Well, have a great day. And
- 46:09Speaker 1: let us know how it goes tomorrow.
- 46:10Speaker 8: Love you, guys.
- 46:11Speaker 1: Love you, too.
- 46:11Speaker 3: Congrats on the new gig.
- 46:13Speaker 9: We're going to play Minute to Minute, so we do
- 46:14Speaker 9: need a contestant at 877-937-1047. But Sarah, what's your advice
- 46:16Speaker 9: on 180 dating that we were talking about?
- 46:22Speaker 17: I was listening to Peyton talk about 180 dating, and
- 46:25Speaker 17: I had the message in. I am currently married to
- 46:29Speaker 17: a black man, but I told myself that if this
- 46:32Speaker 17: doesn't work out, 180, I'm going with a white woman
- 46:35Speaker 17: next time.
- 46:35Speaker 3: Fair enough.
- 46:38Speaker 12: That is definitely a 180. You follow the instructions to
- 46:41Speaker 12: the T.
- 46:41Speaker 15: Or 360.
- 46:41Speaker 3: How long have you been married?
- 46:42Speaker 17: 11 years.
- 46:50Speaker 1: Well, I guess it's working. You and the black guy.
- 46:52Speaker 1: It is.
- 46:52Speaker 3: It's working.
- 46:53Speaker 17: Yeah, it's working. But just in case, that's what's going
- 46:56Speaker 17: to go around next time.
- 46:57Speaker 3: Got to have a plan.
- 46:58Speaker 8: See you next.
- 46:59Speaker 22: Bye, guys.
- 47:01Speaker 3: Thanks, Sarah.
- 47:01Speaker 1: Bye.
- 47:03Speaker 9: So I know that there's a storyline with Team Moms,
- 47:08Speaker 9: the baseball one, the Kim Kardashian one that's filmed here.
- 47:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 47:12Speaker 9: So just to give you guys a little heads up,
- 47:14Speaker 9: I watched the first two episodes and then I watched
- 47:16Speaker 9: the last episode. And I saw the whole, so one
- 47:19Speaker 9: of the moms decided to become a lesbian.
- 47:22Speaker 25: Yeah.
- 47:22Speaker 12: Well, she came out.
- 47:24Speaker 1: Oh, I didn't see that part.
- 47:25Speaker 9: I just saw that her husband is trying to set
- 47:28Speaker 9: him up with a date and whatever. And we're going
- 47:29Speaker 9: to have one of the teen moms in tomorrow. So
- 47:32Speaker 9: that show is doing well, I think. Has anyone seen
- 47:35Speaker 9: where it's ranked? Do they do the rankings on Paramount Plus?
- 47:36Speaker 12: I don't know if Paramount Plus does like Netflix does
- 47:39Speaker 12: where they rank one, two, three. I haven't seen that
- 47:41Speaker 12: on Paramount Plus. But I know a lot of people
- 47:43Speaker 12: talking about it. A lot of people watching it.
- 47:46Speaker 1: Okay. So what do you guys think?
- 47:47Speaker 3: I watched the whole season, the whole season, all eight episodes.
- 47:51Speaker 3: It's really wild because it's hard to find likable people
- 47:56Speaker 3: on that show. And I hope that some of those
- 47:59Speaker 3: likable people are the ones that are joining us today.
- 48:01Speaker 1: Oh, really? You know what's funny?
- 48:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 48:03Speaker 1: My friend Will, it's his team.
- 48:05Speaker 3: He's likable.
- 48:05Speaker 9: And I enjoy watching him on TV because you can
- 48:08Speaker 9: see him having a great time.
- 48:09Speaker 3: I think there's like a lot.
- 48:10Speaker 12: Of likable characters. I watched the whole thing too.
- 48:12Speaker 15: So I....
- 48:14Speaker 12: I feel like I'm ready for season two. Like I'm in.
- 48:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 48:17Speaker 3: It's got, it's got a lot of the good stuff
- 48:19Speaker 3: in it that you love in a reality show. And
- 48:21Speaker 3: it's like, they do the fighting that reality shows do. Well,
- 48:25Speaker 3: somebody says something where it gets around. Everybody hates that person.
- 48:29Speaker 3: That person's got to defend themselves. Cat fight in an
- 48:31Speaker 3: eighties party. It happens in all the reality shows.
- 48:33Speaker 1: That's a really good recap.
- 48:35Speaker 12: I'm watching it.
- 48:36Speaker 9: I'm like, Like, again, I watched the first two episodes
- 48:41Speaker 9: and the last episode. I'm like, how are they ripping
- 48:43Speaker 9: on this guy for not telling them that he owns
- 48:46Speaker 9: a house or not owns a house?
- 48:47Speaker 14: Like, it's none of their business.
- 48:48Speaker 1: I feel like you've missed a lot. I did miss
- 48:50Speaker 1: a lot, but I'm sure. I'm like, it's none of
- 48:52Speaker 1: their business if he owns a house.
- 48:53Speaker 3: It truly isn't, but I guess if you step in
- 48:55Speaker 3: it enough, people start questioning you and be like, I
- 48:58Speaker 3: don't know if that's true. I don't know if that's true.
- 49:00Speaker 12: Their issue is more the lies about it other than
- 49:03Speaker 12: they were like in the middle part that you didn't watch.
- 49:06Speaker 1: Right, right, right.
- 49:08Speaker 12: They were like, it doesn't matter if you do or don't.
- 49:11Speaker 12: In fact, if you were open about it, that's probably
- 49:13Speaker 12: more relatable. Like everybody goes through financial stuff, but like
- 49:16Speaker 12: instead you lied about it.
- 49:18Speaker 1: Well, another show, number one on Netflix is The Difference.
- 49:20Speaker 9: World, which is a show I used to watch when
- 49:21Speaker 9: I was in college.
- 49:22Speaker 1: And I love that show. And they brought it back.
- 49:24Speaker 1: If you guys are watching, that's number one on Netflix.
- 49:26Speaker 23: No.
- 49:26Speaker 9: So it's, uh, it's about college life in, uh, in a,
- 49:31Speaker 9: in Hillman college, which is an HBCU college.
- 49:33Speaker 1: Right.
- 49:34Speaker 9: And when it was on originally, it was a spinoff
- 49:36Speaker 9: of the Cosby show. and it starred Lisa Bonet, and
- 49:38Speaker 9: then she was only there for a year, but it
- 49:40Speaker 9: took off for about four or five years, and it
- 49:41Speaker 9: was such a good show about college life, and it
- 49:44Speaker 9: was a comedy. But what they did is they brought
- 49:46Speaker 9: it back and it's number one on Netflix now, but
- 49:49Speaker 9: it's like when they did Fresh Prince, how it's kind
- 49:51Speaker 9: of serious, but it's also funny. Do you know what
- 49:53Speaker 9: I mean?
- 49:54Speaker 1: It's like that.
- 49:55Speaker 9: And it's cool because it's all the characters I love.
- 49:57Speaker 9: And Peyton, I think you would like this because one
- 49:59Speaker 9: of the stars who played Dwayne was Kadeem Hardison.
- 50:02Speaker 4: Oh yeah.
- 50:03Speaker 1: And Kadeem Hardison is in it.
- 50:05Speaker 3: Oh, I like, yeah.
- 50:05Speaker 10: Kadeem Hardison's awesome.
- 50:06Speaker 9: And they brought back a lot of the old characters
- 50:08Speaker 9: and their kids are going, it's just, it's really good.
- 50:10Speaker 1: It's number one.
- 50:11Speaker 9: It's number one right now. I'm only three episodes in, but, um,
- 50:14Speaker 9: Really enjoying it. Maybe the nostalgia. A lot of nostalgia, right?
- 50:18Speaker 5: Yep.
- 50:18Speaker 1: Like the VMAs last night.
- 50:19Speaker 3: I feel like.
- 50:20Speaker 1: Nostalgia. Snoop Dogg hosting. Madonna. Yeah. Nirvana.
- 50:23Speaker 8: Yep.
- 50:24Speaker 1: You know.
- 50:24Speaker 3: Like even some of the new music is nostalgic music.
- 50:28Speaker 3: Like Bruno Mars was like a kickback old time performance. Yeah.
- 50:32Speaker 10: Somber did Father Figure.
- 50:34Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 50:34Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 50:35Speaker 3: Teddy Swim's rocked Careless Whisper, by the way. I thought
- 50:38Speaker 3: he sent it great.
- 50:39Speaker 1: We got $ 1, 000. We're going to get into VMAs in
- 50:40Speaker 1: about 45 minutes. Don't worry. If you miss anything, we'll
- 50:42Speaker 1: get into it. Jessica is our contestant for Minute to
- 50:44Speaker 1: Win It. Good morning, Jessica.
- 50:45Speaker 15: Hello.
- 50:47Speaker 17: Good morning.
- 50:48Speaker 1: Good morning. You are playing Minute to Win It for $ 1, 000.
- 50:51Speaker 1: But before we play, tell us a little bit about yourself.
- 50:54Speaker 1: Where are you? What part of town are you in?
- 50:57Speaker 22: We're in North Phoenix, and I'm on my way to
- 50:59Speaker 22: take my 13-year-old to middle school.
- 51:01Speaker 4: And you what?
- 51:03Speaker 1: You cut out.
- 51:05Speaker 20: We feel like we're not going to.
- 51:07Speaker 1: Uh-oh. This is going to be bad. You're cutting out.
- 51:10Speaker 20: Uh-oh.
- 51:11Speaker 1: That's going to be demerits if we're doing it for
- 51:12Speaker 1: 60 seconds.
- 51:13Speaker 3: Now I can hear you.
- 51:14Speaker 1: You should pull over.
- 51:14Speaker 17: Wait, am I still cutting out?
- 51:16Speaker 11: I am pulled over.
- 51:17Speaker 1: Oh, okay. I know you're probably on speakerphone because you
- 51:20Speaker 1: probably want your daughter to play. Okay.
- 51:23Speaker 17: I can take you off speaker.
- 51:24Speaker 1: No, it's up to you.
- 51:25Speaker 3: Here, is that better?
- 51:25Speaker 9: I just want you to have a full minute of
- 51:29Speaker 9: being able to hear the questions.
- 51:30Speaker 1: You know what I mean? And us hearing your answers.
- 51:32Speaker 22: Wait, is this better since I'm off speaker?
- 51:34Speaker 1: It sounded better to me. Yeah. Yeah.
- 51:37Speaker 4: Okay, let's try it.
- 51:38Speaker 1: Okay.
- 51:38Speaker 18: John Jay and Rich have $ 1, 000.
- 51:40Speaker 26: Cash for you from Peoria Ford right now.
- 51:43Speaker 4: Minute to win it.
- 51:44Speaker 3: Okay, Jessica, 60 seconds on the clock. Get all 10 right.
- 51:47Speaker 3: No passes, no skips. And you win $ 1, 000 of Pat
- 51:50Speaker 3: Hickey's money. Last night was the MTV VMAs. Who won
- 51:55Speaker 3: video of the year?
- 51:59Speaker 1: Oh, my God, I didn't watch the VMAs.
- 52:00Speaker 20: Are you kidding me?
- 52:02Speaker 22: Video of the year, it's got to be probably Taylor Swift.
- 52:05Speaker 3: All Saints in November is the day after what holiday?
- 52:10Speaker 12: All Saints.
- 52:11Speaker 22: Is that after in November?
- 52:13Speaker 3: All Saints Day, I should say. All Saints Day is
- 52:16Speaker 3: not after Thanksgiving.
- 52:16Speaker 11: Oh, no.
- 52:18Speaker 3: It's the day after. Jessica.
- 52:21Speaker 8: It's for Halloween.
- 52:23Speaker 1: You cuss, too. You can't cuss. Speaking of Halloween.
- 52:28Speaker 9: But she cussed, so we dumped her and put her
- 52:31Speaker 9: on hold, but she gets a Del Taco gift card,
- 52:34Speaker 9: if you guys can tell her. According to Rich, the
- 52:36Speaker 9: FCC says we cannot pick her up again.
- 52:39Speaker 3: Yeah, because I took that test.
- 52:40Speaker 12: According to the FCC. That's what we're supposed to do.
- 52:44Speaker 3: It's not my rule.
- 52:45Speaker 12: It's not just Rich.
- 52:46Speaker 1: I'm just telling you the way I see it. The
- 52:48Speaker 1: way I see it.
- 52:49Speaker 3: So you haven't taken the test yet. You're like, ah,
- 52:51Speaker 3: it's fine.
- 52:51Speaker 1: You know what? I get alerts every day to take
- 52:53Speaker 1: this test. Like, I tried to, and it was too long.
- 52:56Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh.
- 52:58Speaker 1: Speaking of Halloween yeah Ranker.com ranked the biggest Ranker.com and
- 53:07Speaker 1: Spirit Halloween store which by the way I haven't seen
- 53:08Speaker 1: that many oh there are so many of them yeah.
- 53:11Speaker 9: It's so funny I haven't seen I've seen one a
- 53:12Speaker 9: long time ago and I haven't seen any anywhere else
- 53:14Speaker 9: I was expecting Salvin Go to be Spirit stores so
- 53:19Speaker 9: they ranked the scariest and best recent horror movies they're
- 53:26Speaker 9: so recent Obsession Number one, Obsession.
- 53:29Speaker 4: Really?
- 53:29Speaker 1: Number one.
- 53:30Speaker 10: Doesn't give horror movie to me.
- 53:32Speaker 3: What about... But have you seen it?
- 53:33Speaker 23: Yeah.
- 53:34Speaker 1: It didn't give you a horror movie.
- 53:35Speaker 3: What about Back Rooms?
- 53:35Speaker 10: No, it's creepy.
- 53:36Speaker 3: Back Rooms has got to be on there.
- 53:37Speaker 1: Number six is Back Rooms.
- 53:39Speaker 10: What about Insidious? Annabelle?
- 53:44Speaker 1: No. So you got.
- 53:46Speaker 9: The first one I've ever heard is Alien Romulus is
- 53:49Speaker 9: number 14.
- 53:50Speaker 3: That's real good.
- 53:50Speaker 9: Abigail's 13. Something called Bring Her Back is 12. Together
- 53:55Speaker 9: is 11.
- 53:56Speaker 1: Long Legs.
- 53:57Speaker 9: I remember that one. Heretic is number heretic. I don't
- 54:01Speaker 9: know how to say it. Whatever it is.
- 54:03Speaker 1: Smile 2 is number 8, which is funny because Smile
- 54:06Speaker 1: 1 isn't in there. Smile 2. Send Help is number 7.
- 54:11Speaker 1: Back Rooms is 6. Final Destination Bloodlines is number 5.
- 54:14Speaker 1: The Substance is number 4.
- 54:16Speaker 10: Oh, that was such a good movie.
- 54:18Speaker 1: Evil Dead Rise is number 2. And Obsession is number 1.
- 54:21Speaker 3: Yeah, Obsession. You guys really need to watch that. But
- 54:24Speaker 3: then again, don't watch it because it'll freak you out.
- 54:27Speaker 9: Because I saw on SNL this weekend, they made a
- 54:29Speaker 9: couple of obsession jokes and I didn't get it, but
- 54:33Speaker 9: I kind of got it.
- 54:34Speaker 1: The girl makes a face like this. Did you like this?
- 54:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 54:38Speaker 3: It's really unnerving.
- 54:40Speaker 1: Heidi, good morning. What's up?
- 54:43Speaker 14: Hi.
- 54:43Speaker 26: I was calling in with some strange marriage advice.
- 54:47Speaker 1: Okay.
- 54:48Speaker 5: So.
- 54:49Speaker 26: My spouse and I have had this phrase going for
- 54:53Speaker 26: the last 15 years of our marriage that every morning
- 54:56Speaker 26: you choose pillows or pancakes. And the reason for that
- 55:01Speaker 26: is every morning you have to make the choice to
- 55:03Speaker 26: either get up and make that person pancakes or choose
- 55:05Speaker 26: them or smother them with a pillow.
- 55:09Speaker 25: And so even though that.
- 55:10Speaker 26: Pillow sometimes seems really easy, you still have to get
- 55:13Speaker 26: up and make pancakes.
- 55:15Speaker 3: That seems like a pretty extreme either this or that.
- 55:17Speaker 12: Of course, you're giving them a choice.
- 55:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I guess that's true.
- 55:20Speaker 26: Yeah, it's really just about choosing your person every day
- 55:23Speaker 26: and remembering that you chose that person, that you wanted
- 55:26Speaker 26: to be married to them, and putting the intention behind it.
- 55:30Speaker 3: And pancakes makes everything better.
- 55:31Speaker 1: I like that.
- 55:34Speaker 26: Yeah, because that intention is so important when you're married,
- 55:37Speaker 26: like making sure that you remember that you chose that person,
- 55:40Speaker 26: even when it's really difficult or challenging, because.
- 55:42Speaker 8: We all have hard days in marriage.
- 55:44Speaker 26: But knowing that every morning I'm going to wake up
- 55:47Speaker 26: and choose pancakes over that.
- 55:48Speaker 8: Pillow is a good thing.
- 55:50Speaker 9: But you're saying that like hypothetical, not someone doesn't every
- 55:52Speaker 9: day make pancakes, right?
- 55:54Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely.
- 55:55Speaker 26: Hypothetically, like it's really just like that kind gesture that like,
- 55:59Speaker 26: you know, when someone makes pancakes for you, they're really
- 56:01Speaker 26: like making sure to find time for you to choose
- 56:04Speaker 26: you to do something nice for you. And so just
- 56:07Speaker 26: making that like hypothetical choice of pancakes each day.
- 56:10Speaker 3: John Jay doesn't understand hypothetical. He's very literal.
- 56:12Speaker 1: I know.
- 56:12Speaker 3: Cause I'm like, well, I'm just so out of shape.
- 56:14Speaker 3: Do I have to make pancakes every day?
- 56:15Speaker 1: It's not good for you.
- 56:16Speaker 3: All that gluten.
- 56:17Speaker 26: And it's also a great like subtle way to like
- 56:20Speaker 26: kind of tell your spouse, like I'm in a bad
- 56:22Speaker 26: spot with you right now. I'm not happy. Like I'll
- 56:24Speaker 26: look at my spouse and be like, hey, I could
- 56:26Speaker 26: have chosen pillow this morning, and that's where we're at.
- 56:29Speaker 8: That's a good point. You might want to give me space.
- 56:32Speaker 9: If it's not hypothetical and someone chooses pillow, then the
- 56:36Speaker 9: whole relationship ends because you killed that person, right?
- 56:38Speaker 12: Probably go to jail.
- 56:40Speaker 3: Well, what you're saying is even when you're mad, you've
- 56:41Speaker 3: got to kind of find a way to say I
- 56:42Speaker 3: love you too, right? Without being like, I love you too.
- 56:45Speaker 26: Even when you're mad, you still have to find a
- 56:47Speaker 26: way to make pancakes, even if you don't necessarily want to.
- 56:49Speaker 1: Heidi, thank you for calling in. Thanks for that strange
- 56:52Speaker 1: marriage advice. Thank you for listening.
- 56:53Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 56:54Speaker 1: Have a great day.
- 56:56Speaker 8: Same to you.
- 56:56Speaker 22: Bye.
- 56:56Speaker 1: All right.
- 56:57Speaker 9: Like in 20 minutes, we're going to call the winner
- 57:01Speaker 9: of the grand prize of our Disney magic ticket giveaway.
- 57:04Speaker 9: So if you were one of the contestants that made
- 57:06Speaker 9: it into the hopper, please answer your phone. We're going
- 57:09Speaker 9: to call you live in about 20 minutes and hopefully
- 57:11Speaker 9: you'll get the grand prize. It's awesome prize. We also
- 57:14Speaker 9: got Becky G tickets that we're going to float around today.
- 57:16Speaker 9: So here's how you get the Becky G tickets.
- 57:18Speaker 1: It's national.
- 57:19Speaker 9: Ask a stupid question day. So 877-937-1047. We want to
- 57:25Speaker 9: hear how rich your stupid questions.
- 57:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, if you've always been afraid to ask
- 57:29Speaker 3: something because you don't understand it, but you think it's stupid,
- 57:32Speaker 3: that's why this day was invented for teachers to open
- 57:34Speaker 3: it up to students to be like, hey, I don't
- 57:37Speaker 3: understand that whole greater than, less than thing. Can you
- 57:39Speaker 3: explain that to me and not seem like a fool?
- 57:41Speaker 3: So if you got one of those, you know. My
- 57:44Speaker 3: wife asked me a question this weekend. And I thought
- 57:47Speaker 3: it was a stupid question. You know, your mind moves fast.
- 57:50Speaker 3: I immediately thought that's a stupid question. And then I
- 57:51Speaker 3: realized I couldn't answer it. And I had to Google it.
- 57:54Speaker 9: And it's a stupid question, much like the first question
- 57:58Speaker 9: of Minute to Win It I thought was a hard question.
- 58:01Speaker 10: Oh, really?
- 58:01Speaker 1: Because you had to watch it be amazed last night. Like,
- 58:03Speaker 1: there's people who are going to watch it today.
- 58:04Speaker 3: I don't know. If you have a phone, like, you know,
- 58:06Speaker 3: your notifications probably let you know right away.
- 58:08Speaker 1: But it's still a hard question because you might not.
- 58:11Speaker 12: But not a stupid question.
- 58:13Speaker 1: It happened within the last 12 hours.
- 58:15Speaker 3: That's true.
- 58:15Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Anyway.
- 58:16Speaker 9: The question my wife asked me, I will tell you,
- 58:18Speaker 9: but 877-937-1047. We want to answer your stupid questions. There's
- 58:23Speaker 9: something you've always been too embarrassed to ask, or you
- 58:24Speaker 9: have a story about a quite stupid question.
- 58:27Speaker 1: We'll get to you next. John Jane Rich.
- 58:28Speaker 12: Can I ask a question?
- 58:30Speaker 3: Don't ask stupid questions.
- 58:31Speaker 12: Don't ask stupid questions.
- 58:32Speaker 8: Remember, there are no stupid questions, just stupid people.
- 58:35Speaker 26: Today, September 28th, is Ask a Stupid Question Day.
- 58:39Speaker 1: Stupid question. It's a stupid question. What a stupid question
- 58:42Speaker 1: that is. When I watch you a lot, you ask
- 58:44Speaker 1: a lot of stupid questions.
- 58:45Speaker 8: You guys want to ask me stupid questions.
- 58:47Speaker 10: It is Ask a Stupid Question Day today.
- 58:49Speaker 3: Hey, ask your stupid questions.
- 58:51Speaker 1: It's showtime. Christina. Good morning.
- 58:55Speaker 19: You're on the air.
- 58:55Speaker 5: Hi.
- 58:56Speaker 4: Hi.
- 58:57Speaker 3: How can we help you?
- 58:57Speaker 1: Hi.
- 58:59Speaker 8: I was just calling the radio and I wasn't sure why.
- 59:03Speaker 8: So that's my question. Why am I calling into the radio?
- 59:06Speaker 3: No, that is a stupid question.
- 59:08Speaker 1: So you heard me say call in, and you called in.
- 59:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 59:12Speaker 8: That was just the trigger, and I just figured, hey,
- 59:14Speaker 8: why not?
- 59:15Speaker 1: All right.
- 59:15Speaker 16: Good.
- 59:15Speaker 1: Good. Well, it's National Ask a Stupid Question Day, Christina.
- 59:17Speaker 1: So thanks for calling in.
- 59:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 59:20Speaker 1: All right.
- 59:21Speaker 4: Glow.
- 59:22Speaker 1: Good morning, Glow.
- 59:24Speaker 16: Morning, y'all.
- 59:25Speaker 1: Okay.
- 59:26Speaker 22: Stupid question is, John Jay, when you're doing stacks and hacks,
- 59:32Speaker 22: are you saying stacked or stacks is my stupid question?
- 59:36Speaker 9: That's a great question because I mumble a lot. So
- 59:42Speaker 9: we created stacks and hacks because I have all this
- 59:46Speaker 9: stuff I want to get to, and I end up
- 59:47Speaker 9: putting it in a pile. So it's just stacks and stacks.
- 59:51Speaker 9: So it's S-T-A-C-K-S, stacks. And then hacks rhymes with stacks.
- 59:57Speaker 6: Right because irritating but.
- 1:00:01Speaker 20: I'm like just go with it glow just.
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: Go with it but i get how you would think
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: it was stats like statistics.
- 1:00:08Speaker 16: Yeah yeah yeah thanks glow hey have.
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: A good day you too yeah i've done questions what up.
- 1:00:14Speaker 27: Alex hey um so mine is kind of like a
- 1:00:18Speaker 27: memory um i don't know maybe like I was in
- 1:00:22Speaker 27: high school, so like mid-2000s. My family was watching TV,
- 1:00:25Speaker 27: and they were all watching The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
- 1:00:27Speaker 27: And I joined in late, and when I sat down,
- 1:00:30Speaker 27: I was just not even like real– it was an
- 1:00:33Speaker 27: honest question. I was like, hey, is this a rerun?
- 1:00:36Speaker 27: And they all sat there in silence, and they were like, yeah, like.
- 1:00:39Speaker 25: They're all reruns.
- 1:00:41Speaker 27: Like, are you serious right now?
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: Because it was over.
- 1:00:45Speaker 27: I just like didn't even process what I was saying.
- 1:00:48Speaker 27: I was just like, oh, my gosh, wait, have we
- 1:00:50Speaker 27: seen this one?
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: Like– But they did end up remaking it a couple
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: of years ago.
- 1:00:55Speaker 17: Yeah, yeah, they did.
- 1:00:56Speaker 27: I don't think it was nearly as funny, but it was.
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: It wasn't a comedy. This is my first thought.
- 1:01:02Speaker 14: I was like, wait, is this.
- 1:01:05Speaker 27: The very one? Have you seen this one yet?
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: That's good, Alex. Thank you. Wait, hold on. Hold on.
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: I forgot. We got Becky G tickets online here. Kat,
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: good morning.
- 1:01:15Speaker 16: Good morning.
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: What's your stupid question?
- 1:01:18Speaker 27: You know, it's more of like a high thought. Can
- 1:01:22Speaker 27: anybody else hear when you scratch your head that you
- 1:01:25Speaker 27: hear the.
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: Shh, shh, shh?
- 1:01:27Speaker 27: Who else hears that besides you?
- 1:01:29Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: I think you can hear when somebody's scratching their head.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: No, you mean the inside, like in your bones?
- 1:01:33Speaker 8: Can they hear the shh, shh, shh?
- 1:01:34Speaker 12: I don't know if you can. I don't think other
- 1:01:36Speaker 12: people can hear that.
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: I feel like I've seen John Jay.
- 1:01:39Speaker 12: Unless they're really going at it.
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: Yeah, because John Jay really goes at his ear, and
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: I can hear that from over here.
- 1:01:43Speaker 9: It's kind of like when you're chewing, you think no
- 1:01:45Speaker 9: one else can hear you, but when they do hear you, yeah.
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: All right, Kat, that's a good one. Hold on.
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: That is a high thought.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: Rebecca.
- 1:01:51Speaker 22: Hi, good morning. How is everyone today?
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: Hi, good.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: It's National Ask a Stupid Question Day. What's yours? All right.
- 1:01:59Speaker 22: My stupid question.
- 1:02:00Speaker 23: No matter how many times I've tried to wrap my
- 1:02:02Speaker 23: head around this concept, I don't understand the concept and
- 1:02:07Speaker 23: how you launder money.
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: Oh, God.
- 1:02:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: I've never understood that. I watched Ozark twice.
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: The racketeering.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: Oh, it's such a.
- 1:02:17Speaker 20: Seriously, I think Ozark is the one that prompted it
- 1:02:19Speaker 20: for me.
- 1:02:19Speaker 6: I'm like, well, if you're putting.
- 1:02:21Speaker 20: Money into a business, you're just getting taxed on it anyways.
- 1:02:24Speaker 23: I don't get it.
- 1:02:25Speaker 22: I don't get the benefit.
- 1:02:26Speaker 20: I'm trying to figure it out.
- 1:02:27Speaker 8: I just can't.
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: I was watching something the other day.
- 1:02:30Speaker 9: I can't remember what it was, but somebody handed somebody
- 1:02:31Speaker 9: a bag of money on a TV show and a
- 1:02:34Speaker 9: whole bag of money.
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: And they goes, you're going to have to launder this now.
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: And I was like.
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: What does that mean?
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: Doesn't that mean like.
- 1:02:39Speaker 10: You clean it through your business?
- 1:02:40Speaker 11: So it's like if you're a drug mule or if
- 1:02:43Speaker 11: you're a drug dealer and you get a bunch of cash,
- 1:02:45Speaker 11: then you would put it into the strip club that
- 1:02:47Speaker 11: you own. So eventually it goes in through a business
- 1:02:49Speaker 11: and then when it comes out, it's legitimate.
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: It looks legit.
- 1:02:51Speaker 12: Yeah, it looks legit.
- 1:02:53Speaker 10: I think that's how that works.
- 1:02:54Speaker 20: You're only getting a portion because you're still getting taxed.
- 1:02:57Speaker 23: On it, right?
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I guess so.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: You know, that's a good question. That's not a stupid question.
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: You've been eliminated. Andrew, good morning.
- 1:03:06Speaker 5: Hey, guys.
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: Oh, you're breaking up. What's your question?
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: Oh, sorry.
- 1:03:12Speaker 19: So my question, for years, I never understood it, and
- 1:03:15Speaker 19: I still don't know it to the day. People never
- 1:03:17Speaker 19: told me. They just think I'm stupid. But I never understood,
- 1:03:21Speaker 19: what is a take a penny, leave a penny?
- 1:03:24Speaker 4: Like, what is that?
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: So if you're short of change, you can borrow... like
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: a penny or two from that stash. But if you
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: go over a little bit, you could leave your pennies
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: in there for somebody else.
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: You mean like at a 7-Eleven or something?
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: Oh, I thought he was doing a phrase.
- 1:03:40Speaker 12: Like the change jar at a store.
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: That's the part you don't get?
- 1:03:44Speaker 19: Yeah, no, because I saw them when I was a
- 1:03:46Speaker 19: little kid. I was probably maybe seven years old and
- 1:03:48Speaker 19: I saw it, and it just never made sense to me.
- 1:03:51Speaker 19: It's like, take a penny, leave a penny. So I
- 1:03:53Speaker 19: take a penny, but then I leave a penny. But
- 1:03:55Speaker 19: then I'm short a penny.
- 1:03:57Speaker 9: No, like let's say you're buying something and it's $ 5.
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: 02.
- 1:04:01Speaker 9: And you don't want to break your other five. So
- 1:04:04Speaker 9: you can take $ 0.
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: 02 out of there.
- 1:04:06Speaker 9: Now let's say there's another day where you're there and
- 1:04:09Speaker 9: your bill is $ 4. 80 and you get $ 0.
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: 20 back. You can take $ 0. 20 and put it back
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: in the thing. It's like just being a kind person.
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: Yeah, either way, like a couple of pennies doesn't matter.
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: That's a good one. Hold on, Andrew.
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: That's a good question.
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: That's a good one. I might sneeze. Jordan, good morning.
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: What's your stupid question?
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: Hi. Hi.
- 1:04:27Speaker 22: So mine is more of a story about a stupid
- 1:04:30Speaker 22: question that I asked when I was in high school.
- 1:04:33Speaker 22: One of my teachers had what he called a dumb
- 1:04:36Speaker 22: quote board. And anytime someone asked something that he thought
- 1:04:40Speaker 22: was dumb, he would write our quote on the board
- 1:04:42Speaker 22: and our name for every class period to see for
- 1:04:45Speaker 22: that week. And I... raised my hand, and I asked,
- 1:04:49Speaker 22: we were talking about prairie dogs, and I asked if
- 1:04:52Speaker 22: dogs was spelled D-A-W-G. And he put it on the board,
- 1:04:56Speaker 22: and I've been embarrassed ever since.
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: Well, you're not wrong. That's your friend.
- 1:05:01Speaker 12: In some cases, it is.
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: That's your buddy. That's your dog.
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: Okay. Hold on, Jordan.
- 1:05:07Speaker 9: All right, real quick. Out of all these, who gets
- 1:05:09Speaker 9: Becky G tickets? Who do you guys think, which is
- 1:05:11Speaker 9: the dumbest question?
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: Stupidest question.
- 1:05:16Speaker 12: I like them all.
- 1:05:17Speaker 10: I have to say, they're all good.
- 1:05:19Speaker 12: Alex with the rerun is good.
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: It's pretty good.
- 1:05:21Speaker 12: And then I like Kat with the scratch your head.
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: Scratch your head's like the, it's more of a deep thought,
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: but it's about it thought.
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: Kat, you want Becky G tickets? Are you down?
- 1:05:30Speaker 15: Yes.
- 1:05:33Speaker 17: Okay.
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: I think she's coming to the fair. So you get
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: to go to the fair and see her too.
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: That's fun.
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:05:39Speaker 5: Awesome.
- 1:05:40Speaker 4: All right, hold on, Kat.
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: Scratching her head.
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: Dil, can you handle that?
- 1:05:46Speaker 12: I got a stupid question real quick.
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: Yeah, let's go.
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: Before we move on.
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: No, I was going to tell you my stupid question.
- 1:05:50Speaker 12: If tomatoes are technically a fruit, right, is ketchup like
- 1:05:55Speaker 12: a smoothie?
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: It's good.
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: I was going to say, you know how you go
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: to Taco Bell and you just have the sporks?
- 1:06:02Speaker 5: Uh-huh.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: I was like, how come it's not called foon?
- 1:06:03Speaker 10: I like foon. It's a spork.
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: It's good. Like they went, hey, it's a spoon and
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: a fork. It's a spork.
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: Maybe.
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: Why not call it a food?
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: Maybe these aren't dumb. Maybe these are smarter than we
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: think they are.
- 1:06:13Speaker 12: No, but maybe it's because it's more spoon than fork.
- 1:06:16Speaker 16: Maybe.
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: You know the phrase after dark?
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:06:20Speaker 9: Why isn't it after light? It's not after dark. After
- 1:06:22Speaker 9: dark is morning. That's right. So this is a question
- 1:06:26Speaker 9: my wife asked me this weekend. So we were in
- 1:06:28Speaker 9: Mexico this weekend. We were in Cancun for this like
- 1:06:31Speaker 9: longevity seminar thing with a bunch of doctors and stuff.
- 1:06:33Speaker 9: And she says to me, we're sitting on the beach
- 1:06:35Speaker 9: looking at this beautiful beach. And she says, what ocean
- 1:06:40Speaker 9: is this? And I'm like, and I was like, oh
- 1:06:43Speaker 9: my God, I don't know. Do you guys know?
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: Pacific?
- 1:06:46Speaker 12: I would guess Pacific.
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: Wrong, wrong.
- 1:06:48Speaker 10: So it's Atlantic?
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: Wrong. I mean, it's the Caribbean and it goes into
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: the Atlantic. And I was like, oh, wow. Okay. Had
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: no idea. But I had to Google it. I was like.
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: I guess I think Mexico, since we're on that side,
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: it would be. Because I was all like, come on, Blake.
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: And I was like, I don't know.
- 1:07:06Speaker 12: Yeah, I've never been great with geography.
- 1:07:09Speaker 10: The maps.
- 1:07:10Speaker 9: But I know that had I said that question to
- 1:07:12Speaker 9: my dad, he would have been pissed off. When I
- 1:07:14Speaker 9: was a kid, I remember one time I asked him
- 1:07:15Speaker 9: if Denmark was in the United States. He was pissed.
- 1:07:19Speaker 3: I bet.
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: For the last few weeks, we've been hooking people up
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: with tickets to the happiest place on Earth, Disneyland.
- 1:07:25Speaker 9: And now we're going to draw the grand prize. It's
- 1:07:28Speaker 9: a four-pack of three-day, one-park-per-day passes plus a hotel at
- 1:07:32Speaker 9: the Disneyland Resort. Hotel Stay at the Disneyland Resort, which
- 1:07:34Speaker 9: is a fantastic resort. We're going to call our winner
- 1:07:36Speaker 9: after Bruno Mars. What did Bruno win at the VMAs
- 1:07:42Speaker 9: last night? I saw him perform last night.
- 1:07:44Speaker 8: He's great.
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: He won something. I think he won R & B
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: or something like that.
- 1:07:49Speaker 9: Anyway, you want to hear a stupid question or a
- 1:07:52Speaker 9: stupid something I heard this weekend that hit me. So
- 1:07:56Speaker 9: when you go, I heard somebody say, I was at
- 1:07:59Speaker 9: a seminar with a bunch of doctors. And I heard, like,
- 1:08:02Speaker 9: they weren't being funny. And the doctor said, refer to the.
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: 80s, the 90s. And then what do you call the
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: next one?
- 1:08:10Speaker 3: I think they call it the aughts.
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: What do you guys say?
- 1:08:12Speaker 8: The 2000s.
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: Okay, what do you say, Peyton?
- 1:08:14Speaker 10: I would say the 2000s.
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: The way they said it. The 80s, the 90s, the O-O's.
- 1:08:18Speaker 10: The O-O's.
- 1:08:20Speaker 12: That ain't it, guys.
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: The O-O's.
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: And I was like, whoa. The O-O's.
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: That's the only thing I wrote down from the conference.
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: The O-O's. That's so funny.
- 1:08:26Speaker 12: And yes, Bruno Mars did win best R & B
- 1:08:28Speaker 12: for a song.
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: That's what I thought. Okay.
- 1:08:31Speaker 9: We got this incredible prize. Disneyland is just the best
- 1:08:35Speaker 9: place on earth. It really, truly is. And we've got
- 1:08:37Speaker 9: this incredible prize. It's a four pack of three day,
- 1:08:39Speaker 9: one park per day passes and hotel stay at the
- 1:08:42Speaker 9: Disneyland resort.
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: We're going to call the winner right now. You have
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: the number dill. Okay. And let this person know that
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: they won.
- 1:08:49Speaker 9: So hopefully if you were a finalist, you're at the,
- 1:08:51Speaker 9: by the phone waiting, by the way, someone can shoot
- 1:08:56Speaker 9: me in her name.
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: You know, Before she picks up or he picks up.
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: Okay, here we go.
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: I got it.
- 1:09:10Speaker 24: Hello?
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: Sapphire?
- 1:09:12Speaker 16: Yes, this is her.
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: This is John Jane Rich, KISS FM.
- 1:09:18Speaker 16: Hi, how are you guys doing this morning?
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: How are you? What are you doing?
- 1:09:23Speaker 16: Well, I'm bailing for work, so it's a lot.
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: Do you have any idea why we're calling you?
- 1:09:30Speaker 16: I'm hoping for the grand prize?
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: Yes. Oh, my God. Oh, my God.
- 1:09:39Speaker 4: Thank you guys so much.
- 1:09:40Speaker 16: Oh, my God.
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 1:09:41Speaker 23: Oh, my God. No way.
- 1:09:45Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:09:46Speaker 16: No freaking way.
- 1:09:50Speaker 12: So hopefully this makes billing at work a little better
- 1:09:52Speaker 12: of a day for you.
- 1:09:53Speaker 3: Also, Sapphire never believes us. When she was calling her 104,
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: she's like, no, you're lying. We told her she wouldn't.
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: She's like, no way.
- 1:10:00Speaker 9: Well, you get a four-pack of three-day, one-park-per-day passes. You
- 1:10:04Speaker 9: get a hotel stay at the Disneyland Resort. Congratulations.
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh.
- 1:10:09Speaker 16: Thank you guys so much.
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: You got it. Thank you for listening. Tell all your friends.
- 1:10:15Speaker 12: Oh, I will.
- 1:10:15Speaker 16: I have my app and a group chat and everything
- 1:10:17Speaker 16: for these keywords.
- 1:10:19Speaker 5: Good.
- 1:10:20Speaker 23: Good.
- 1:10:20Speaker 12: We work together.
- 1:10:21Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: You've been listening to radio a long time because we
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: were calling them magic words. Magic words. They're magic.
- 1:10:28Speaker 20: Yes.
- 1:10:28Speaker 8: Literally magic.
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: Hold on, Sapphire. Congratulations. That's funny.
- 1:10:36Speaker 9: By the way, so speaking of award shows, with the
- 1:10:40Speaker 9: VMAs were last night and Madonna, we're going to get
- 1:10:42Speaker 9: into the VMAs, right? Kyle Pink, I'm going to break
- 1:10:44Speaker 9: that all down. But you're reminding me when Madonna opened
- 1:10:47Speaker 9: the show and then Madonna like crushed it. And won
- 1:10:49Speaker 9: all these awards. It reminded me of the one, she's
- 1:10:52Speaker 9: an icon. What is she, like in her 60s?
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:10:56Speaker 9: She called this radio show one time. And I just
- 1:11:00Speaker 9: listened to the clip, part of the clip of when
- 1:11:02Speaker 9: she called. And it still gives me like goosebumps talking
- 1:11:05Speaker 9: to her. But she ripped on my name. But I
- 1:11:10Speaker 9: loved it.
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: Here's what happened.
- 1:11:17Speaker 3: So, you know, when I'm listening to that, I'm thinking about,
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: I remember, this is Rich talking.
- 1:11:22Speaker 17: Oh, you're the guy with one name.
- 1:11:23Speaker 26: There's another guy with two.
- 1:11:24Speaker 12: Names, right?
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: That's me, John Jay.
- 1:11:27Speaker 14: Believe it or not, Madonna, it's not.
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: A made-up name. It's my birth name. It's my real name.
- 1:11:32Speaker 4: Really?
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: But it's Dutch. My dad's Dutch. It's a Dutch name.
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: It's weird.
- 1:11:36Speaker 26: What's your last name?
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: Van S.
- 1:11:38Speaker 26: Van S.
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: Not Van Ass. Hey, trust me.
- 1:11:43Speaker 3: I'll tell you, I'll be using that from now on.
- 1:11:44Speaker 9: Hey, wait, with a name like John Jay Van Ass,
- 1:11:47Speaker 9: trust me, I got John Gay Van Ass my whole life.
- 1:11:49Speaker 24: That is awesome.
- 1:11:51Speaker 17: Do you wear wooden shoes?
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: I have a pair of wooden shoes, Madonna.
- 1:11:56Speaker 5: I like that.
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: And I'm half Mexican. I'm half Dutch, half Mexican. So
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: I was all jacked up.
- 1:12:00Speaker 24: That's really freaky.
- 1:12:02Speaker 15: And the guy that you work with is named Rich?
- 1:12:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:12:05Speaker 23: Why don't you just brag about it?
- 1:12:09Speaker 24: Are you?
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: Is Rich Rich?
- 1:12:11Speaker 18: Mm-hmm.
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: No, but I do spell my name with three Ys.
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: It's very pop. I like it that way.
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: Isn't that awesome?
- 1:12:18Speaker 9: She's the best. Anyway, we're going to get into the VMAs.
- 1:12:22Speaker 9: All the VMAs, all the awards, all the drama, all
- 1:12:24Speaker 9: the Easter eggs, whatever there is, right? That's coming up.
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: What else? What else is in the entertainment world?
- 1:12:28Speaker 12: All the VMAs.
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: Oh, okay. That's next. John Jay and Rich. More coming
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: up next. Hey, real quick before we get into entertainment
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: news and the VMAs. Alex, what's up? You're on the air.
- 1:12:36Speaker 27: Hey, good morning. I was actually just on the phone
- 1:12:40Speaker 27: with you guys talking about this stupid question.
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:12:46Speaker 27: And I just wanted to call and say that recently
- 1:12:50Speaker 27: I had ran into Peyton at the Hilary Duff concert.
- 1:12:54Speaker 27: And I told her this story in person, but I
- 1:12:57Speaker 27: actually called last year and I won tickets to the
- 1:13:02Speaker 27: Party in the Parks concert with Pitbull. However, I was
- 1:13:07Speaker 27: not able to attend that concert because I did find
- 1:13:11Speaker 27: out that I ended up getting pregnant with my ex.
- 1:13:16Speaker 27: So I ended up giving the tickets to my sister
- 1:13:20Speaker 27: and it was like this huge thing. And I just
- 1:13:22Speaker 27: definitely aired a bunch of dirty laundry on the radio.
- 1:13:25Speaker 27: So if anyone's listening, hopefully. But I ran into Peyton.
- 1:13:32Speaker 27: We took a picture with her.
- 1:13:33Speaker 16: My sister was there and.
- 1:13:36Speaker 27: I just thought it was funny because I've been trying
- 1:13:37Speaker 27: to win something on the radio ever since, but I
- 1:13:40Speaker 27: never got to go to that concert.
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: It was a great concert. That was a lot of fun.
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: Yeah, Pitbull's awesome.
- 1:13:45Speaker 5: I heard.
- 1:13:45Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:13:46Speaker 9: Well, thank you for calling in, Alex. Thanks for listening.
- 1:13:49Speaker 9: What do you guys got? How was the VMAs last night?
- 1:13:50Speaker 9: What are we missing?
- 1:13:51Speaker 12: Snoop Dogg hosted, and he's like the most amazing host ever.
- 1:13:55Speaker 25: Now, when they first asked me to host this awards show,
- 1:13:59Speaker 25: I said, is it going to be in L.A.? No.
- 1:14:02Speaker 3: Well, I'm busy.
- 1:14:04Speaker 14: Then they called me back and said, hold on, Mr.
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: Dog. It's in L.A.
- 1:14:06Speaker 16: Now.
- 1:14:07Speaker 12: That's the power of Snoop Dogg right there. I especially
- 1:14:12Speaker 12: loved his last line of the night. He was like,
- 1:14:15Speaker 12: all right, you know that famous quote, you don't have
- 1:14:18Speaker 12: to go home, but you can't stay here? He goes,
- 1:14:20Speaker 12: you don't have to go home.
- 1:14:21Speaker 22: Yeah, you do.
- 1:14:22Speaker 12: And then that was it. I'll say Madonna pretty much
- 1:14:26Speaker 12: ruled the night. She won seven awards. She picked up
- 1:14:28Speaker 12: Artist of the Year, Best Dancer for Confessions 2, and
- 1:14:30Speaker 12: Best Collaboration. With Sabrina Carpenter, when they went up to
- 1:14:34Speaker 12: accept that award, she called out Sabrina's people.
- 1:14:37Speaker 25: Everybody who knows me knows how impatient I am.
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: And when five days passed and I still didn't get
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: connected to Sabrina and didn't.
- 1:14:47Speaker 8: Hear back from her about whether she wanted to do
- 1:14:49Speaker 8: a song with me.
- 1:14:51Speaker 15: Five days, I DM'd her.
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: She answered me back.
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: And I don't know, within weeks, we were in the
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: studio together.
- 1:14:59Speaker 5: It was fabulous.
- 1:15:00Speaker 14: She starts talking about how great.
- 1:15:02Speaker 12: It's been to work with Sabrina. And then at the
- 1:15:03Speaker 12: very end, you can tell that that caught Sabrina off guard.
- 1:15:06Speaker 12: And so at the very end, Sabrina's like, I just
- 1:15:08Speaker 12: want to let everybody know that my people do reach
- 1:15:10Speaker 12: back to you. I guess I just respond faster.
- 1:15:14Speaker 3: That seemed very real. That seemed like a very real moment.
- 1:15:17Speaker 3: Because Majani even said, she's like, I didn't prepare a
- 1:15:19Speaker 3: speech or anything like that.
- 1:15:20Speaker 12: She also said she didn't know that she was getting
- 1:15:22Speaker 12: that award, which I'm sure she did.
- 1:15:23Speaker 4: She did.
- 1:15:24Speaker 3: She totally did.
- 1:15:24Speaker 12: She did open the show with her first live VMA
- 1:15:26Speaker 12: performance in 23 years. Plus, Lisa performed, Ray performed, Shabuzy,
- 1:15:30Speaker 12: a bunch of big tribute moments throughout the night. Sienna
- 1:15:33Speaker 12: Spiro scored Best New Artist. And I just thought, she
- 1:15:36Speaker 12: is so lovable.
- 1:15:38Speaker 7: I didn't think this would happen.
- 1:15:39Speaker 10: So I just have to say thank you so much.
- 1:15:41Speaker 11: Thank you to the fans and the people that voted
- 1:15:43Speaker 11: for me.
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: I love you.
- 1:15:44Speaker 10: I can't believe this.
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: So cute.
- 1:15:47Speaker 9: I want to jump back to Madonna's opening performance, by
- 1:15:49Speaker 9: the way. I got to kick out all the cameos
- 1:15:51Speaker 9: that popped up. And one of them that got me
- 1:15:53Speaker 9: going was Julia Garner, who's in Ozark because she's playing
- 1:15:57Speaker 9: Madonna in the movie.
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: There was Charlie XCX came out. Seth Rogen came out.
- 1:16:01Speaker 12: I didn't put that two together.
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: Debbie Mazur.
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: But when I saw her, I was like, oh, my God,
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: that must mean it's officially happening. Julia Garner is going
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: to play. And she had her hair like.
- 1:16:09Speaker 3: She looked just like her.
- 1:16:10Speaker 9: She had her hair like, God, what movie was that?
- 1:16:12Speaker 9: Desperately Secret Susan, I think. No, the one after that
- 1:16:14Speaker 9: where she was with Sean Penn. Anyway, so if you
- 1:16:17Speaker 9: get a chance to watch that, we repost it. It
- 1:16:19Speaker 9: was cool to know there's going to be a Madonna movie.
- 1:16:22Speaker 12: Sienna Spiro, she was awesome. Spiro, she was pretty awesome.
- 1:16:26Speaker 12: Something happened last night at the VMAs that has never
- 1:16:28Speaker 12: happened before. Lisa won Best Pop for Dream, and that
- 1:16:32Speaker 12: was record-breaking because she literally became the first Asian solo
- 1:16:35Speaker 12: artist ever to win that award.
- 1:16:36Speaker 8: At the VMAs.
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: Well, good for her. Her song's damn good. That's a
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: good song. Ray's performance is great, too. She's awesome.
- 1:16:41Speaker 12: She's so charismatic.
- 1:16:43Speaker 3: That album is fantastic.
- 1:16:45Speaker 11: I thought all of the performances, the live performances, were
- 1:16:47Speaker 11: really impressive.
- 1:16:48Speaker 12: I thought they were all really great, but I felt
- 1:16:50Speaker 12: the same way that I think I feel at pretty
- 1:16:52Speaker 12: much almost all awards shows. Like, give me the short version.
- 1:16:55Speaker 12: Because I want to get to all of them quicker.
- 1:16:57Speaker 8: You know?
- 1:16:58Speaker 12: And I think that's just being spoiled that you have
- 1:17:01Speaker 12: so many great artists in the room at the same time.
- 1:17:04Speaker 12: Of course, the moment I think most people who were
- 1:17:06Speaker 12: watching were waiting for was Taylor Swift. She, of course,
- 1:17:10Speaker 12: added more wins to her VMA, I guess, room of trophies.
- 1:17:15Speaker 12: She did win that brand new award for Best Direction
- 1:17:20Speaker 12: for Oplight. And while she was accepting it, she, of course,
- 1:17:24Speaker 12: intro'd her new music video for Patient Zero.
- 1:17:28Speaker 21: I gotta tell you, though, the main reason why I
- 1:17:30Speaker 21: love writing and directing music videos so much is because you,
- 1:17:33Speaker 21: the fans, make.
- 1:17:34Speaker 10: It so much fun.
- 1:17:36Speaker 21: You make it so rewarding because you actually care about
- 1:17:40Speaker 21: what we're making. So I think rather than keep talking,
- 1:17:43Speaker 21: I would love to, if it's okay with you, show
- 1:17:45Speaker 21: you my latest.
- 1:17:46Speaker 7: Music video starring my friend.
- 1:17:48Speaker 21: Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell. This is the world premiere
- 1:17:52Speaker 21: of the Patient Zero music video.
- 1:17:55Speaker 3: It's a really good video, too. It was really well done.
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: It was.
- 1:17:58Speaker 12: It actually, like, gave me chills at the very end.
- 1:18:01Speaker 12: It's almost like I don't want to give you a
- 1:18:02Speaker 12: spoiler alert if you haven't seen it.
- 1:18:04Speaker 3: It's a mini movie.
- 1:18:05Speaker 12: But, you know, we talked on Friday about all the
- 1:18:07Speaker 12: Easter eggs in the 13-second preview that she gave us,
- 1:18:10Speaker 12: and a lot of those were correct. But the twist
- 1:18:14Speaker 12: at the end, nobody saw that twist coming. Do I
- 1:18:18Speaker 12: say it or do I, like, it's like a total
- 1:18:19Speaker 12: spoiler alert. I don't feel like people want it.
- 1:18:22Speaker 9: Well, it's funny because I haven't finished the whole video.
- 1:18:24Speaker 9: So I'm wondering what the spoiler is.
- 1:18:26Speaker 14: Don't spoil it.
- 1:18:27Speaker 10: I don't want to spoil it.
- 1:18:28Speaker 12: There's a twist at the ending of the music video,
- 1:18:31Speaker 12: which makes it so cinematic. And so, like, it literally
- 1:18:34Speaker 12: gave me chills.
- 1:18:35Speaker 9: Well, as a viewer, for me watching it, I was like,
- 1:18:38Speaker 9: she is a great, that's a really well-directed film. And
- 1:18:41Speaker 9: if she goes on to do features, that would be insane.
- 1:18:44Speaker 3: Well, the performances of Colin Farrell and Dakota were really good, too.
- 1:18:47Speaker 12: You could see it happening.
- 1:18:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:18:49Speaker 12: She closed out the show accepting the big, the biggest
- 1:18:52Speaker 12: award of the night video of the year for the
- 1:18:53Speaker 12: fate of Ophelia and said in her speech that this
- 1:18:57Speaker 12: really wouldn't be happening without one person.
- 1:18:59Speaker 21: I want to thank and dedicate this award to the
- 1:19:02Speaker 21: ultimate showgirl, Dolly Parton. Her storytelling was so vivid and
- 1:19:05Speaker 21: so rich. And she, man, she handled this thing with
- 1:19:09Speaker 21: such grace and joy and love and gratitude for the
- 1:19:12Speaker 21: fact that she got to do this. Everything that happened
- 1:19:15Speaker 21: in her life or her career, she channeled back into
- 1:19:18Speaker 21: love and gratitude and appreciation for her fans. I am
- 1:19:21Speaker 21: lucky I got to be one of them and I
- 1:19:22Speaker 21: will always.
- 1:19:23Speaker 10: Be one of them.
- 1:19:25Speaker 9: You know, I had one tiny thing, and I'm saying
- 1:19:28Speaker 9: this without knowing everything about the award show last night.
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: But I can't remember the category. There's a category Madonna won.
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: Madonna won like 11 awards.
- 1:19:36Speaker 4: No.
- 1:19:36Speaker 12: Best cinematography, best choreography, best long-form video, best album.
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: Best album. Keep going.
- 1:19:43Speaker 12: Oh, my gosh. Best Collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter. Best Dance.
- 1:19:47Speaker 4: No.
- 1:19:47Speaker 12: Fur Confessions 2. Artist of the Year. I think that
- 1:19:50Speaker 12: was it.
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: That one. Artist of the Year. Artist of the Year.
- 1:19:52Speaker 9: I got to say this just because this, who had
- 1:19:55Speaker 9: a bigger year than Ella Langley? And Ella Langley doesn't
- 1:19:58Speaker 9: get Artist of the Year. Like, to me, I was
- 1:20:00Speaker 9: kind of like, oh, that's right, but it's MTV, and
- 1:20:02Speaker 9: they obviously got to give her Madonna.
- 1:20:03Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:20:03Speaker 3: They got to pay. She opened the award show in 1981.
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: I know she's an icon, but I think Ella Langley
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: had a bigger year than Madonna.
- 1:20:11Speaker 24: Yeah.
- 1:20:13Speaker 12: So did Taylor Swift. I mean, you could probably argue
- 1:20:16Speaker 12: both of those, but yeah. I mean, Ella Langley just
- 1:20:19Speaker 12: broke Mariah Carey's record of number one song for the
- 1:20:21Speaker 12: longest running. She beat All I Want for Christmas.
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: How do you beat All I Want for Christmas? How
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: do you not give her an award?
- 1:20:26Speaker 12: That's crazy. In any case, moving on, Jennifer Lopez, she
- 1:20:29Speaker 12: actually opened up about her twins are leaving for college.
- 1:20:32Speaker 12: And so now she's like experiencing life as an empty nester.
- 1:20:35Speaker 12: And she's got her beauty care brand. So I'm sure
- 1:20:37Speaker 12: this was definitely to promote that. But she was talking
- 1:20:39Speaker 12: about how How like things have shifted in her life.
- 1:20:43Speaker 12: The things that she was normally doing with her kids
- 1:20:45Speaker 12: are now gone. And so she's filling the void.
- 1:20:48Speaker 10: But those routines really keep you going.
- 1:20:51Speaker 12: And I think when they go away and I'm sitting here.
- 1:20:54Speaker 18: Being an empty nester and crying and thinking about them
- 1:20:57Speaker 18: and looking at baby pictures of them and all that stuff,
- 1:21:00Speaker 18: these routines are the things that are going to keep
- 1:21:02Speaker 18: me kind of sane. You know, working out, doing my
- 1:21:05Speaker 18: skincare routine, caring for myself with the newfound kind of space.
- 1:21:10Speaker 12: That's in your life. think that's so cute it's like
- 1:21:13Speaker 12: very vulnerable um Chris Hansen I think is doing the
- 1:21:16Speaker 12: best promotion for the movie he doesn't want to actually
- 1:21:18Speaker 12: promote it's called prime time it stars Robert Pattinson who
- 1:21:21Speaker 12: plays Chris Hansen and like Chris Hansen is very upset
- 1:21:26Speaker 12: he does not like the movie he said 98% of
- 1:21:29Speaker 12: what's in the movie is actually completely false and never
- 1:21:32Speaker 12: happened in fact he even gave Robert Pattinson a pretty
- 1:21:35Speaker 12: bad grade for how he portrays him in the.
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: Movie In a way, it's a hit piece on me
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: and the series, which is weird because all we do
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: is expose.
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: Bad human beings who try to hurt children.
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: So in that respect, it's sort of an insult to
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: the thousands of men and women who lot every day
- 1:21:50Speaker 2: to do the same thing that I try to do.
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: This version of Chris Hansen, played by Robert Pattinson, was
- 1:21:54Speaker 2: so detached, so unhinged, so dark, so unlikable. I mean,
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: it's upset my colleagues, present and former. Grade Pattinson, A, B, C, D,
- 1:22:05Speaker 2: or F? D.
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: It's weird because he sounds just like Chris Hansen.
- 1:22:10Speaker 3: Because he is.
- 1:22:11Speaker 12: And he said, listen, I know that talking about this
- 1:22:14Speaker 12: is bringing attention to the movie and I didn't really
- 1:22:16Speaker 12: want to do that. But it also gives me an
- 1:22:17Speaker 12: opportunity to tell you that I'm focused on my own
- 1:22:19Speaker 12: documentary called I Am Chris Hansen. So use it to
- 1:22:22Speaker 12: promote something for yourself as well. Um, he was, was
- 1:22:26Speaker 12: at one time, one of the biggest actors, uh, I
- 1:22:28Speaker 12: think of all time, Sylvester Stallone. And one of his
- 1:22:30Speaker 12: biggest movies, Rocky is just, it's a classic. He actually
- 1:22:34Speaker 12: opened up and shared the extreme measures that he took
- 1:22:37Speaker 12: to get in shape for some of his iconic roles.
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: Really bad.
- 1:22:41Speaker 5: It became to the point where I became bulimic. You
- 1:22:45Speaker 5: didn't know that. I became so obsessed at staying at
- 1:22:49Speaker 5: that point of fitness. And then finally, you know, I
- 1:22:52Speaker 5: just broke the cycle. But literally an obsessive body worship
- 1:22:57Speaker 5: kind of a thing. Nobody does it without additives and drugs.
- 1:23:00Speaker 2: Period.
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: I don't care what they say.
- 1:23:02Speaker 8: So you're taking steroids, you're saying?
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: Oh, my God. You have to.
- 1:23:04Speaker 3: But that also took a terrible toll.
- 1:23:07Speaker 12: He did say, though, at one point he reached 2.6%
- 1:23:10Speaker 12: body fat.
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: Dang. I watched this interview and I made comments on it.
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: I've never really done that.
- 1:23:15Speaker 4: In a long time.
- 1:23:15Speaker 3: Like in the comments on the post?
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:23:17Speaker 9: I was like, dude, I'm such a huge fan. This
- 1:23:18Speaker 9: is so great. How come you never talk about the
- 1:23:20Speaker 9: movie Victory? Dude, you were so great in Victory.
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: He got way, he lost a lot. He got down
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: like 150 pounds in that movie. Comedian Matt Rife is
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: coming to the Valley. We got your free tickets. You
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: got to win Beach Shazam.
- 1:23:32Speaker 18: 877-937-1047.
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: We're going to play after the weekend.
- 1:23:34Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: It's John Jay and Rich.
- 1:23:38Speaker 9: Hey, I just posted, I saw the coolest video. I
- 1:23:41Speaker 9: just posted on the John Jay and Rich Instagram on
- 1:23:43Speaker 9: our stories. And it's after the VMAs last night. And
- 1:23:46Speaker 9: it's Madonna, Julia Garner, and Charlie XCX just screwing around
- 1:23:50Speaker 9: in her hotel room. And it looks so cool just
- 1:23:53Speaker 9: to be able to take a peek into them. Like
- 1:23:56Speaker 9: just three girls screwing around.
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: It's fantastic. It's on our stories at John Jay and
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: Rich Instagram. We got tickets to comedian Matt Reif. Kent
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: is our contestant. Hey, Kent. Hey, good morning. Good morning.
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: What are we playing, Nick?
- 1:24:09Speaker 14: You guys, we're playing Beat Shazam today. Just speaking of
- 1:24:12Speaker 14: the VMAs, we've been talking about it a lot today.
- 1:24:14Speaker 14: We're going to do VMA winners today.
- 1:24:17Speaker 4: Ooh.
- 1:24:17Speaker 14: And you can get a bonus point if you can
- 1:24:19Speaker 14: guess what song won what category, okay?
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: Okay. Make sense? Okay.
- 1:24:25Speaker 14: We're going to start with John Jay.
- 1:24:26Speaker 3: And that's when I told you it's all right.
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: Taylor Swift.
- 1:24:30Speaker 14: Uh-huh.
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: That's Opalite.
- 1:24:31Speaker 3: Uh-huh.
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: Two points. And she won for the best artist video director.
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: Whatever the title is.
- 1:24:38Speaker 14: I think I can probably give you that one. So
- 1:24:41Speaker 14: Opalite won Best Direction. So you did Best Video Director.
- 1:24:45Speaker 3: I mean, it makes sense.
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: Up to you. I'm not going to fight you.
- 1:24:47Speaker 3: Three points.
- 1:24:48Speaker 14: Three points for John J.
- 1:24:49Speaker 3: Van Ness.
- 1:24:51Speaker 4: Rich.
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: BTS.
- 1:24:52Speaker 4: Mm-hmm.
- 1:24:59Speaker 3: For the video Swim, and they won Best Artist of
- 1:25:02Speaker 3: the Year.
- 1:25:03Speaker 14: Best Artist of the Year, okay. That is, you do
- 1:25:05Speaker 14: get two points, Rich, because... Can I steal that?
- 1:25:08Speaker 3: I can steal that.
- 1:25:09Speaker 14: Oh, go ahead, Kent.
- 1:25:10Speaker 4: Is it Best Group?
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: Best Group?
- 1:25:13Speaker 14: Oh, man, I'm sorry.
- 1:25:14Speaker 10: It's a good guess.
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: Don't be an idiot.
- 1:25:15Speaker 14: We are looking for Best K-Pop and Song of the Year.
- 1:25:19Speaker 3: Song of the Year.
- 1:25:19Speaker 14: Okay. Either way, Rich gets two points. We'll move on now.
- 1:25:23Speaker 14: Round one continues with Peyton Widmore Strickland.
- 1:25:26Speaker 10: I'll take my pride. Santa Spyro.
- 1:25:29Speaker 16: Standing.
- 1:25:31Speaker 11: Die on the Hill.
- 1:25:33Speaker 8: New artist.
- 1:25:35Speaker 14: It's Die on this Hill. I'm going to give it
- 1:25:37Speaker 14: to you.
- 1:25:37Speaker 10: Thank you.
- 1:25:38Speaker 14: That's three points for Peyton.
- 1:25:39Speaker 3: Not just to me.
- 1:25:40Speaker 14: She did. It's better than running up this hill.
- 1:25:43Speaker 12: I don't want to hear that ever again.
- 1:25:46Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:25:47Speaker 14: You guys killing it today.
- 1:25:49Speaker 4: Kyle.
- 1:25:50Speaker 14: That's Ella Langley.
- 1:25:51Speaker 10: She's in Texas.
- 1:26:00Speaker 12: She won best country artist.
- 1:26:02Speaker 14: Best country song. Song and artist. Best country song, yeah.
- 1:26:05Speaker 12: Best country person.
- 1:26:07Speaker 14: She's just the best.
- 1:26:08Speaker 9: I am slowly or quickly becoming an Ella fella. I've
- 1:26:11Speaker 9: listened to her music nonstop the last couple days, and
- 1:26:14Speaker 9: she's really good.
- 1:26:15Speaker 14: She's dating somebody, right?
- 1:26:16Speaker 12: Do you want Scott to get you the same T-shirt?
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: No, I'm going to go to her concert and go
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: get my own T-shirt. Oh, okay.
- 1:26:21Speaker 9: I would assume that's part of her merch, an Ella fella,
- 1:26:23Speaker 9: unless people make it their own on Etsy.
- 1:26:25Speaker 12: His was, I think, a concert merch.
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:26:28Speaker 14: Either way, you did great, Kyle. So good job. Three points.
- 1:26:32Speaker 14: So right now, everybody but Rich has three, and we'll
- 1:26:36Speaker 14: move on to Kent.
- 1:26:44Speaker 3: Okay, that's Bruno Mars, Just Might, and is it for.
- 1:26:52Speaker 3: I don't know. Best pop song.
- 1:26:54Speaker 14: Best pop song. That's a good guess. It's wrong, but
- 1:26:57Speaker 14: it's a good guess. That's best R & B song
- 1:26:59Speaker 14: is what we're looking for. But two points for Kent
- 1:27:01Speaker 14: in round one. And, man, you guys are just nailing
- 1:27:04Speaker 14: it today. John Jay.
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:27:07Speaker 14: Starts round two.
- 1:27:08Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:27:08Speaker 15: Do you want the house tour?
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: So, Betty Carpenter. Uh-huh. House tour is that song. And
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: I think that went for best single, best video.
- 1:27:15Speaker 14: Best video, best single.
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: Best video. Any other guesses? Best collab with Madonna.
- 1:27:19Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:27:19Speaker 14: Yeah, gee, I mean.
- 1:27:21Speaker 3: Spoiler.
- 1:27:22Speaker 14: We're later in this game. That one for best editing.
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 1:27:27Speaker 3: Of course.
- 1:27:29Speaker 14: Just really good editing.
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: Those are the ones they should do off camera.
- 1:27:34Speaker 15: All right.
- 1:27:34Speaker 14: So John Jay, two points around two, bringing his total
- 1:27:36Speaker 14: to five today.
- 1:27:38Speaker 20: Rich.
- 1:27:39Speaker 3: The cure. Olivia Rodrigo.
- 1:27:45Speaker 14: What did it win, Rich?
- 1:27:46Speaker 3: What did it win? Uh, It won Best Video, of course.
- 1:27:52Speaker 3: Why wouldn't it?
- 1:27:53Speaker 14: I think everybody says it's been Best Video. This might
- 1:27:56Speaker 14: surprise you because it surprised me. Best Alternative Song.
- 1:27:59Speaker 3: Oh, really?
- 1:28:00Speaker 11: I can see that vibe with that song.
- 1:28:03Speaker 3: Because it's borrowing a little riff from the Foo Fighters.
- 1:28:05Speaker 11: Yeah, and she's kind of going viral because her concert
- 1:28:08Speaker 11: outfit to that specific song, she's getting rained on and
- 1:28:11Speaker 11: it's melting like toilet paper.
- 1:28:14Speaker 14: Then that's the cure i guess it's a great song
- 1:28:17Speaker 14: four points for rich today great job that's.
- 1:28:21Speaker 11: Pink pantheris zara larson stateside and they won for best
- 1:28:28Speaker 11: um like group duo song.
- 1:28:30Speaker 14: Best group duo song okay i can't believe you didn't
- 1:28:33Speaker 14: get this how about best art direction Oh.
- 1:28:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:28:38Speaker 10: Oh, sorry, Zara and Pink. I know.
- 1:28:40Speaker 3: It's okay.
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: They did great.
- 1:28:42Speaker 10: I wasn't aware of your game.
- 1:28:43Speaker 14: Five points today for Peyton Widmore. Hey, Kyle, it's your turn.
- 1:28:56Speaker 12: Okay, that's Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter. I can't remember the
- 1:28:58Speaker 12: name of them, but they won for Best Collaboration.
- 1:29:00Speaker 14: Yeah, that's correct. The name of the song is Bring
- 1:29:02Speaker 14: Your Love.
- 1:29:03Speaker 10: That's right.
- 1:29:03Speaker 14: Bring Your Love. Five points for Kyle today as well.
- 1:29:06Speaker 14: My goodness, you guys. Hey, Kent, if you can get this,
- 1:29:09Speaker 14: we'll give you ten points, and you're going to go
- 1:29:11Speaker 14: see Matt Rife.
- 1:29:13Speaker 15: All right.
- 1:29:18Speaker 3: It's Paris Swift, Fate of Ophelia.
- 1:29:22Speaker 4: And that was for Best Video.
- 1:29:25Speaker 14: Yeah, that's it.
- 1:29:27Speaker 3: That is for Best Video.
- 1:29:29Speaker 14: He was O'Feeling that one. Am I right, guys?
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: Heck yeah. All right, Ted, hold on. Congratulations. Thanks for playing.
- 1:29:35Speaker 9: We're going to set you up. And we got tickets
- 1:29:37Speaker 9: again tomorrow, too. By the way, one thing about the
- 1:29:38Speaker 9: VMAs that I don't have an answer to is when
- 1:29:41Speaker 9: they did the Video Vanguard Award and they brought out Nirvana, right?
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: They brought out Dave Grohl. They brought out the dude
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: that looks like Dr. Phil.
- 1:29:46Speaker 9: And there was another dude. And I don't know who
- 1:29:48Speaker 9: that dude is because I know Kurt Cobain died. And
- 1:29:50Speaker 9: there was another dude. Did you guys see him? Yeah,
- 1:29:52Speaker 9: he's from the Foo Fighters. But he gets up there,
- 1:29:54Speaker 9: and the three of them are standing up there. And
- 1:29:56Speaker 9: he opens up his jacket, takes out a pack of cigarettes,
- 1:29:58Speaker 9: and starts smoking a cigarette, lights a cigarette. And to me,
- 1:30:01Speaker 9: it was like he's taken away from what the guy
- 1:30:03Speaker 9: was saying.
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: I wish he wouldn't have done that. I'm kind of like,
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: who's this guy? What's this guy doing? Stop doing that.
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: Did you guys see that?
- 1:30:08Speaker 12: It was so distracting.
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: It was very distracting and disrespectful to Nirvana. I was ticked.
- 1:30:12Speaker 9: But I also didn't know who he is. So he's
- 1:30:14Speaker 9: in the Foo Fighters? So did he not catch that
- 1:30:17Speaker 9: it was a Nirvana thing?
- 1:30:18Speaker 3: I'm going to go up with these guys from the
- 1:30:21Speaker 3: Foo Fighters. But I'll tell you, that bass player looks different.
- 1:30:23Speaker 3: He looks like a school teacher now. He looks like Dr.
- 1:30:26Speaker 4: Phil.
- 1:30:26Speaker 3: For sure.
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: Yeah. Anyway, Kyle, what do we need to know? What's
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: coming up?
- 1:30:30Speaker 12: If you're convinced smart glasses are the future, there's a
- 1:30:33Speaker 12: new recall that might make you want to rethink that
- 1:30:37Speaker 12: for a minute. I'll fill you in. I'll tell you
- 1:30:38Speaker 12: what you need to know next week.
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: Kyle, what do we need to know today?
- 1:30:44Speaker 12: A company called Inmo is recalling about 1,600 pairs of
- 1:30:47Speaker 12: its smart glasses because they can overheat enough to burn
- 1:30:51Speaker 12: your face.
- 1:30:52Speaker 3: Oh, not good. Not good.
- 1:30:53Speaker 12: Definitely dangerous. The weirdly futuristic part is it's not like
- 1:30:57Speaker 12: if you have these glasses, you have to send them back.
- 1:31:00Speaker 12: They're like, oh, nothing. A software little update couldn't fix.
- 1:31:04Speaker 12: Not sure I would trust it after that, but that's
- 1:31:05Speaker 12: what they're saying. We'll fix it. SNAP benefits are getting
- 1:31:08Speaker 12: a little bump starting October 1st, which is this week.
- 1:31:11Speaker 12: So families here in Arizona are going to see a
- 1:31:13Speaker 12: little more money each month for groceries. But there's also
- 1:31:16Speaker 12: a bigger change happening behind the scenes with states having
- 1:31:19Speaker 12: to pick up more of the cost, which could eventually
- 1:31:21Speaker 12: mean changes to the program here, too. If you've been
- 1:31:24Speaker 12: thinking like plane tickets are so expensive right now, I'll
- 1:31:28Speaker 12: just wait till they, you know, cheaper fuel prices, the
- 1:31:32Speaker 12: tickets will drop, right? And that's what you're waiting for. Well,
- 1:31:37Speaker 12: you might as well just grab the tickets because apparently
- 1:31:40Speaker 12: airlines have plenty of other costs that are going up
- 1:31:43Speaker 12: as well. And as long as people keep paying these
- 1:31:45Speaker 12: prices to travel, there's not much incentive for them to
- 1:31:48Speaker 12: bring the fares down. So they're just going to stay
- 1:31:49Speaker 12: expensive forever.
- 1:31:51Speaker 11: That is such a bummer because I was thinking that
- 1:31:54Speaker 11: maybe when the gas prices go down, those flights will too.
- 1:31:57Speaker 10: But I mean, hey.
- 1:31:59Speaker 12: Now they're saying, nope.
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: I know.
- 1:32:01Speaker 3: I know.
- 1:32:02Speaker 12: That one cuts deep. So congratulations to the Diamondbacks. Their
- 1:32:08Speaker 12: season is now over. I mean, they full on had
- 1:32:11Speaker 12: us to the very last day. Didn't end up getting
- 1:32:14Speaker 12: what we wanted. We definitely wanted to make it to
- 1:32:16Speaker 12: the playoffs, but you got to give it to them.
- 1:32:19Speaker 12: We literally held on to the very last game against
- 1:32:23Speaker 12: the Padres. We lost, which Ended up kicking us out
- 1:32:26Speaker 12: for the season, but it was a good, exciting season,
- 1:32:28Speaker 12: and we're proud of our D-backs. You guys, this week. Also,
- 1:32:33Speaker 12: October 1st, State Fair opens.
- 1:32:36Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:32:36Speaker 14: The State Fair opens.
- 1:32:37Speaker 12: There's a lot of new stuff for the State Fair
- 1:32:39Speaker 12: this week or this time around. They've got a new
- 1:32:42Speaker 12: ride called Air Raid. Rescue Dogs from America's Got Talent
- 1:32:46Speaker 12: will be there doing stunts. And something called Parrots of
- 1:32:49Speaker 12: the Caribbean, which I already need to see it. And obviously,
- 1:32:52Speaker 12: the food is completely unhinged. They just released their, like,
- 1:32:54Speaker 12: fair food list. They got pozole egg rolls. Nashville hot
- 1:32:58Speaker 12: chicken and mac and cheese balls, PB & J corn dogs,
- 1:33:01Speaker 12: bacon-wrapped churros, the list goes on and on. So the
- 1:33:04Speaker 12: State Fair is always really fun to go to every
- 1:33:06Speaker 12: single year, and this year will be no different, and
- 1:33:08Speaker 12: that's what you need to know.
- 1:33:10Speaker 9: We got this $ 250 gift card to The Voice, or
- 1:33:13Speaker 9: from The Voice, courtesy of The Voice. Pat, are you there?
- 1:33:17Speaker 27: Yes, sir.
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: All right, if you get this question right, are you
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: doing the dishes, Pat? Yes, sir.
- 1:33:25Speaker 3: Can't stop doing the dishes. Hold off on doing the.
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: Dishes real quick. We're going to ask this trivia question.
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: If you get it right, you win $ 250.
- 1:33:29Speaker 3: Okay, talk to me about The Voice. By the way,
- 1:33:32Speaker 3: it continues tonight. It's 7 on NBC. But on Wednesday's
- 1:33:35Speaker 3: episode of The Voice, it opened on a cliffhanger from
- 1:33:38Speaker 3: the previous evening's episode. Four-chair turn contestant Lexi Stephens. needing
- 1:33:44Speaker 3: to decide who she's going to select as her coach.
- 1:33:47Speaker 3: This coach starts making their plea by telling her that
- 1:33:50Speaker 3: was the best blind audition that has ever been. I
- 1:33:53Speaker 3: think you're probably going to win the voice. Name that coach.
- 1:34:00Speaker 25: I think that was, was that Adam Levine?
- 1:34:03Speaker 4: I think that was Adam Levine.
- 1:34:05Speaker 3: It was Adam Levine. And for a bonus here, does
- 1:34:07Speaker 3: Lexi choose Adam?
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:34:12Speaker 3: You got them both right. Yes, absolutely.
- 1:34:16Speaker 8: Good job.
- 1:34:16Speaker 3: You win.
- 1:34:17Speaker 15: Oh, cool.
- 1:34:17Speaker 3: You just scored $ 250. Queen Latifah, Riley Green, joined Kelly
- 1:34:20Speaker 3: Clarkson and Adam Levine as coaches on The Voice. And
- 1:34:24Speaker 3: we've got $ 250 for you. Watch and listen to us,
- 1:34:27Speaker 3: John Jay and Rich, to win The Voice blind auditions.
- 1:34:29Speaker 3: Continue tonight at 7 on NBC12 News.
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: Way to go, Pat. Congratulations. Awesome. Awesome.
- 1:34:35Speaker 9: Thank you very much.
- 1:34:36Speaker 3: You got it.
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: What's the latest, Rich, on your leg? I noticed no
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: crutches today. What are you, three weeks, no crutches? I mean,
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: three weeks of crutches?
- 1:34:43Speaker 3: Three weeks of crutches. Now, there is a crutch in
- 1:34:45Speaker 3: here in case I have to do a very long
- 1:34:47Speaker 3: walk down a very long haul. But I was able
- 1:34:50Speaker 3: to ditch him this week, and I'm still doing PT.
- 1:34:54Speaker 3: but we've stopped doing it. You know what dry needling is?
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:34:57Speaker 3: Where they stick the needles in there and they put
- 1:34:59Speaker 3: electricity through you. They say that my swelling and my
- 1:35:03Speaker 3: torn meniscus has gone down enough that we don't need
- 1:35:05Speaker 3: to do that anymore. So now it is straight rehab,
- 1:35:08Speaker 3: which is a lot of fun. It's a lot of
- 1:35:10Speaker 3: wall sits, which is, if you got, you know, a
- 1:35:12Speaker 3: tear in your knee, that doesn't feel great. But I mean, that's,
- 1:35:15Speaker 3: That's all part of the process.
- 1:35:16Speaker 11: So do they think with like your rehab or your
- 1:35:19Speaker 11: PT that you're going to be able to avoid surgery?
- 1:35:22Speaker 3: I go see the knee surgeon next week and she
- 1:35:25Speaker 3: will tell me. So I don't know yet.
- 1:35:27Speaker 10: We shall see.
- 1:35:28Speaker 3: Yeah. But they say you got to do like a
- 1:35:29Speaker 3: bunch of PT anyway, whether you do surgery or not.
- 1:35:31Speaker 3: So I might as well just do the PT.
- 1:35:32Speaker 25: Right.
- 1:35:32Speaker 11: And if you do it now, it'll have you in
- 1:35:35Speaker 11: a better shape for when or if you do have surgery.
- 1:35:37Speaker 3: But I'm trying to avoid that at all costs.
