Investigators on the Northwest Side smashed a brazen mail theft and identity fraud ring, raiding an apartment on Whitby Road to uncover over 400 pieces of personal data from 273 victims—including seniors, children, and even a deceased person. The suspects used counterfeit mailbox keys and forged credit cards, even leasing the apartment under a victim’s identity. The operation was exposed after a neighbor reported loud noises during an early July raid, which was followed by a second raid just days later.
