- 0:05Speaker 1: My name is Paul Barrel. Welcome back into tech path.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Before I get started, do you want to thank our sponsor?
- 0:10Speaker 1: I trust Capital. You can go over there and set
- 0:12Speaker 1: up your own CRYPTOIRA. It's very easy to do, and
- 0:15Speaker 1: the cool thing is you can put your Salana in there,
- 0:17Speaker 1: along with a whole slew of other assets including gold
- 0:22Speaker 1: and silver. Even so, there's a lot available over there,
- 0:25Speaker 1: very easy to use, low cost, no monthly fees. All
- 0:29Speaker 1: you do is pay for your trades is within your IRA.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Check and see if it works for you on your
- 0:33Speaker 1: tax position. Always use our link down below. It's going
- 0:36Speaker 1: to give you one hundred dollars funding reward to get started.
- 0:38Speaker 2: All right, we got to take a look.
- 0:39Speaker 1: At Solana today and then we're going to bring our
- 0:41Speaker 1: guest on here in just a second, as it is
- 0:44Speaker 1: starting to crack into its all time high, holding a
- 0:47Speaker 1: two point fifty five right now price and not bad
- 0:51Speaker 1: for Solana considering and I think some of this may
- 0:53Speaker 1: because be because of interestingly enough, a sweet outage actually
- 0:59Speaker 1: a heard can you believe it?
- 1:01Speaker 2: A sweet outage occurred just this morning.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Of course everybody was I think scrambling, but they did
- 1:06Speaker 1: do a pretty good job on recovering. And interestingly enough,
- 1:10Speaker 1: we've got we've had the Sweet team on before, we've
- 1:12Speaker 1: talked about this very topic. We'll be breaking that down
- 1:15Speaker 1: as well to kind of discuss that.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Here.
- 1:18Speaker 1: In fact, is our guest today, Joe McCanne. He was
- 1:20Speaker 1: talking about this. He said, Hey, well done, Sweet team,
- 1:23Speaker 1: community swift recovery in just a few hours, so welcome
- 1:27Speaker 1: to the party.
- 1:27Speaker 2: I think these are the.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Kind of things that that we not only fear, you know,
- 1:32Speaker 1: from blockchain enthusiasts, people that are running nodes, and also
- 1:36Speaker 1: I think just in general the community, but things like
- 1:39Speaker 1: this are going to happen. This is still very early
- 1:41Speaker 1: technology for sure. In fact, I've got a clip of
- 1:45Speaker 1: missed in Labs talking about this very thing. Let's go
- 1:47Speaker 1: to that clip.
- 1:48Speaker 3: When do you become battle tasted?
- 1:50Speaker 4: When does that happen?
- 1:50Speaker 5: So you say, now it hasn't happened, but it could happen, right, Well,
- 1:53Speaker 5: you just get a huge inflex of users and it's
- 1:55Speaker 5: going to taste your system.
- 1:56Speaker 3: And that's good question.
- 1:57Speaker 6: The amount of users Web three today is so low,
- 2:00Speaker 6: so that the outages that are happening now are pitiful,
- 2:03Speaker 6: like it should not be happening. They all that off
- 2:05Speaker 6: users the Web three to take sweet down right, we
- 2:08Speaker 6: have no worries about being able to take on the
- 2:10Speaker 6: world's demands. But I think the other networks do, which
- 2:12Speaker 6: is why they have to quote the TPS. Any kind
- 2:15Speaker 6: of volume, meaningful volume comes onto the network, the networks
- 2:18Speaker 6: usually go down. I mean, Sweez never gone down. We
- 2:20Speaker 6: never had any outage, and you don't have feeling transactions
- 2:23Speaker 6: that are required to try again and again. You don't
- 2:26Speaker 6: have outages that go on for you know, random times
- 2:29Speaker 6: where you know you actually need to trade, which you
- 2:31Speaker 6: don't get from Web three as a whole. I think
- 2:33Speaker 6: we're bringing that level of execution to Web three and
- 2:35Speaker 6: I think it's it's about time.
- 2:37Speaker 2: All right.
- 2:38Speaker 1: And we've had them on before, and of course that
- 2:40Speaker 1: statement is kind of unfortunately you gonna have to eat
- 2:42Speaker 1: a little bit of crow there. But I think in general,
- 2:44Speaker 1: you know, you just have to look at the technology
- 2:46Speaker 1: and where it has come from, not only that network
- 2:49Speaker 1: but other Solona has also faced this. I wanted to
- 2:52Speaker 1: bring on Joe McCann. He's a very outspoken Solana bull.
- 2:55Speaker 1: I would call him out there coming in from Asymmetric.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Thanks Joe for coming in well.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Appreciate it.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Yeah, glad to be here.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Yeah, So Joe, let's get into a few points.
- 3:05Speaker 1: First thing I want to kind of jump to is
- 3:07Speaker 1: just if you look at the transaction levels and what
- 3:10Speaker 1: we did over here on DeFi Lama was we took
- 3:12Speaker 1: a look at Solana, Sweet, Avalanche, and Base.
- 3:15Speaker 2: These are the ones.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Of course, Solana right now in their tvl absolutely on fire.
- 3:21Speaker 1: And you think about that and where it's going. Where
- 3:24Speaker 1: do you see the core opportunities for Solana as it
- 3:28Speaker 1: is right now? There's been a lot that have come
- 3:30Speaker 1: since breakpoint, But is there anything that you're watching that's saying, hey,
- 3:33Speaker 1: I'm still very vested in this.
- 3:35Speaker 2: I see this as an upside.
- 3:37Speaker 7: Yeah sure, I mean, look, so Solana has more or
- 3:41Speaker 7: less proved that they are the chain for retail.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Salona has product market fitness point.
- 3:47Speaker 7: You know, I saw the sweet clip about you know,
- 3:50Speaker 7: talking about outages and reliability concerns WITHO the chains. But
- 3:54Speaker 7: the reality is my vig in software developer for twenty
- 3:57Speaker 7: four years as well as a trader and an investor,
- 3:59Speaker 7: and it turns out that you're going to get these
- 4:02Speaker 7: types of issues when you have a lot of activity.
- 4:05Speaker 7: And so this was the same thing with social networks,
- 4:07Speaker 7: you know, fifteen years ago, i mean coinbase to this day,
- 4:10Speaker 7: so it gets so much traffic that it ends up
- 4:12Speaker 7: having reliability issues. This is a positive thing and it
- 4:15Speaker 7: should be embraced now. Of course, nobody wants to be
- 4:18Speaker 7: using a chain when it's down or it's not reliable.
- 4:21Speaker 7: But the beauty is even earlier this year when we
- 4:23Speaker 7: had kind of the meme coin craze in Q one.
- 4:25Speaker 3: And there was a kind of congestion on the network
- 4:27Speaker 3: of Salona.
- 4:29Speaker 7: That bug has been patched because it actually occurred in
- 4:32Speaker 7: a production environment with a ton of activity.
- 4:34Speaker 3: That's what you actually want to see.
- 4:36Speaker 7: You want to see a lot of activities who can
- 4:38Speaker 7: identify these types of bugs and patch them. And since then,
- 4:40Speaker 7: the main mean coin craze has gotten even crazier.
- 4:43Speaker 3: And we've had no reliability issues on the network.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Yeah, that is a good point that you're making there
- 4:49Speaker 1: in the sense of where Solana has been on this cycle. Granted,
- 4:53Speaker 1: you know, all coin season hadn't necessarily begun memes.
- 4:56Speaker 3: That's right.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Most likely are going to see even more you know,
- 5:00Speaker 1: fever pitch around trading, so we'll get a chance to
- 5:03Speaker 1: see if it's battle tested this time around. Going into this,
- 5:06Speaker 1: I want to play a clip for you that is
- 5:09Speaker 1: doctor mmin Gunn. He's talked about this around Avalanche and
- 5:13Speaker 1: don't want to get your opinion.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Let's go to that clip.
- 5:15Speaker 4: This game, this off the grid game. Last I saw
- 5:18Speaker 4: there was something like seven million users. It might even
- 5:21Speaker 4: be more than that. Probably is right now much more.
- 5:24Speaker 4: Oh wow, what's going on with this?
- 5:25Speaker 8: It's great to open up the PlayStation store. Last time
- 5:28Speaker 8: I opened it, it was the top game on it. It's
- 5:31Speaker 8: not one of these coin things. You're not farming coins,
- 5:33Speaker 8: you're not doing anything with coins in this game, for example,
- 5:36Speaker 8: will never be impacted by anything that happens on the
- 5:39Speaker 8: Sea chain. And all of these systems should be on
- 5:42Speaker 8: separate chains that are isolated from each other such that
- 5:45Speaker 8: your gameplay is not impacted if there's something else happening
- 5:48Speaker 8: on the Avalanche that day. Now, there are two other
- 5:51Speaker 8: systems that are similar to us in their multi chain vision.
- 5:55Speaker 8: That's Polka Dot and Cosmos.
- 5:56Speaker 4: It seems like you guys have finally hit the jackpot here.
- 5:59Speaker 4: It's like the whole blockchain.
- 6:02Speaker 1: When you look at Avalanche Joe and you consider what
- 6:05Speaker 1: they've done with their l ones. The whole idea of
- 6:08Speaker 1: these kind of subnets, I mean, Polka Dot was really
- 6:11Speaker 1: kind of the og of this. What are your thoughts
- 6:13Speaker 1: on that. Is this something that you feel like scales
- 6:16Speaker 1: well with growth in blockchain overall?
- 6:20Speaker 7: Well, I mean, look, I agree with the point of
- 6:24Speaker 7: not having things that are happening on the other part
- 6:27Speaker 7: of the Avalanche chain to take down what you're doing
- 6:29Speaker 7: when you're playing the video game. Salana does this extremely
- 6:33Speaker 7: well with what are called localized fee markets. Right, so
- 6:35Speaker 7: if you really want to, you know, do an ntement
- 6:38Speaker 7: or swap a token, or there's some you know, application
- 6:41Speaker 7: that you're using that you really need your transaction to
- 6:43Speaker 7: get through, you can pay more to actually get that
- 6:47Speaker 7: transaction to go through without affecting others on the network.
- 6:50Speaker 7: And so Salona is already doing this and has been
- 6:52Speaker 7: doing this for quite some time. It's the same principle,
- 6:55Speaker 7: it's just implemented differently. And so something like Avalanche or Cosmos.
- 6:59Speaker 7: By having these subnets or these kind of you this
- 7:02Speaker 7: myriad set of chains, you're introducing a level of complexity.
- 7:06Speaker 3: Not necessarily just for the developers, but for the end users.
- 7:10Speaker 7: And so I think one of the benefits you get
- 7:11Speaker 7: from having frankly a Modeltic stack is that from the
- 7:16Speaker 7: developer's perspective, it's all encompass in one place, but from
- 7:19Speaker 7: the user's perspective, there's no real difference in how you're
- 7:22Speaker 7: interacting with the chain.
- 7:24Speaker 2: So okay, so a couple of points there.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Solana has been a chain that it looked like it
- 7:29Speaker 1: was going to start out as a gaming chain. We
- 7:32Speaker 1: saw enough projects launching on it. We saw obviously a
- 7:36Speaker 1: ton of mean points launching within it, especially when Phantom
- 7:39Speaker 1: really integrated.
- 7:40Speaker 2: But then you look at.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Avalanche, which appears to have taken a little bit of
- 7:44Speaker 1: the lead at least when it comes to devs on gaming.
- 7:48Speaker 1: And back to your point, is that may open up
- 7:50Speaker 1: as the gaming chain. I would agree with you that
- 7:52Speaker 1: there are some alternatives on how this works. Do you
- 7:56Speaker 1: think both win in this society? I guess I don't
- 7:59Speaker 1: know think it's a winner take all, But I'm kind
- 8:01Speaker 1: of curious. Do you think both win potentially maybe in
- 8:04Speaker 1: different areas of the industry.
- 8:07Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean, look, I'm all for competition in the
- 8:09Speaker 7: space that means the end user ultimately wins, and I
- 8:12Speaker 7: do believe that users don't really care how the sausage
- 8:16Speaker 7: is made. They just want a great experience, right, So
- 8:18Speaker 7: whether it's on Avalanche, it's on Solana, it's on an
- 8:21Speaker 7: Ethereum L two or an L three like x Populus,
- 8:23Speaker 7: which is also you know, a video game specific chain,
- 8:28Speaker 7: it doesn't really matter. You know, users just want the
- 8:30Speaker 7: best experience, and I think that that's ultimately what's going
- 8:32Speaker 7: to to drive towards a multichain world. The key though,
- 8:36Speaker 7: I think, is are you specifically focusing on a sector
- 8:41Speaker 7: to be that you know, for your chain, or are
- 8:45Speaker 7: you providing a platform or a network that has a wide.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Spectrum of use cases?
- 8:51Speaker 7: Right, So if I go back to Solana as an example,
- 8:54Speaker 7: there's video games on Solana, of course there is. But
- 8:56Speaker 7: there's also deepen projects right like Helium, Highmapper, these types
- 9:01Speaker 7: of things. Of course there's loads of DeFi and they
- 9:04Speaker 7: all benefit from the same level of effort that developers
- 9:08Speaker 7: in the Salon community put into making a Salona the
- 9:11Speaker 7: fastest high through put chain today.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Well yeah, and I think when you look back at
- 9:16Speaker 1: that chart, I'll just just for our viewers that maybe
- 9:19Speaker 1: didn't get a chance to see that, is you're looking
- 9:23Speaker 1: at some pretty significant numbers here just in the TVL
- 9:25Speaker 1: on SLON and this is in comparison to Base, Avalanche,
- 9:30Speaker 1: and Suite, all of which you know, granted Base is
- 9:33Speaker 1: an early chain.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Could we see some growth out of that?
- 9:36Speaker 1: Sure, that's an EVM, But the interesting point is is
- 9:40Speaker 1: that Solana just continues to accelerate. So we're going to
- 9:43Speaker 1: see more and more I think in terms of growth.
- 9:45Speaker 2: I want to go right, go ahead, go ahead.
- 9:47Speaker 7: Make I'm just going to quickly mention, you know, look,
- 9:50Speaker 7: Phantom these you know, call it the canonical wallet application
- 9:54Speaker 7: that and users download on their mobile phones. Was the highest,
- 9:59Speaker 7: was higher than what and Instagram just recently.
- 10:03Speaker 3: And that implies to me that a lot of net.
- 10:06Speaker 7: New users, retail users are crime to not necessarily coinbased directly,
- 10:10Speaker 7: but they're going straight to Solana. And it's likely because
- 10:14Speaker 7: of a lot of the meme coin activity, of course,
- 10:17Speaker 7: but also the ease of use of just using Solana
- 10:20Speaker 7: for myriad applications. And Phantom is a great, you know,
- 10:22Speaker 7: sort of application that enables users to do loads of
- 10:27Speaker 7: stuff on Solana.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, well, I think you know, they're what we've
- 10:31Speaker 1: seen a lot of I think crypto apps in general.
- 10:34Speaker 2: Coinbase just recently hit number one.
- 10:36Speaker 1: But the point is, I think now we're starting to
- 10:39Speaker 1: see retail coming in and Solana usually is one of
- 10:43Speaker 1: the first all coins that retail looks at. And I think,
- 10:46Speaker 1: you know, we've talked about this many times with traditional investors,
- 10:48Speaker 1: and now they're throwing Solana in there with ethan Bitcoin,
- 10:51Speaker 1: you know, as the primary targets for investments, so you're
- 10:54Speaker 1: most likely going to see more of this.
- 10:56Speaker 2: I want to flip.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Over to kind of shift over to Poknot for a
- 10:59Speaker 1: second and take a look look at comparison, and not
- 11:01Speaker 1: that we're comparing all these chains, but I want everybody
- 11:04Speaker 1: to kind of understand every chain kind of has a
- 11:06Speaker 1: uniqueness to it. This is actually the found one of
- 11:09Speaker 1: the founders of Cardono, Charles Hoskinson, talking about Polka Dot.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Listen it.
- 11:14Speaker 5: What other Polka Dot crossovers are there. Well, we're really
- 11:17Speaker 5: excited to see where JAM goes. That's a great innovation
- 11:20Speaker 5: and we're going to be doing a lot of upstream
- 11:23Speaker 5: contributions to substrate from improvements that we've made because of Midnight.
- 11:27Speaker 5: So we're all in the family now.
- 11:30Speaker 2: All right.
- 11:30Speaker 1: So he's mentioning JAM, which of course Gavin Wood has
- 11:34Speaker 1: been out there really kind of focusing in on this
- 11:36Speaker 1: if and this is a comparison of Polka dot Salona
- 11:39Speaker 1: and then JAM, which is Polka VM.
- 11:42Speaker 2: This is not released yet, but the.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Idea is that this is even going to be faster.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Uh No requirements, very low, performance, very high. I mean,
- 11:50Speaker 1: there's a lot of potentials here. Have you looked into.
- 11:53Speaker 2: This uh so far?
- 11:56Speaker 1: Especially if you think about Gavin Wood and just his
- 11:58Speaker 1: prowess within the blockchain community. What's your opinion of this
- 12:02Speaker 1: one right now?
- 12:05Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 12:05Speaker 7: I mean, look, I'll due credit to Gavin for the
- 12:08Speaker 7: work they did on Ethereum and ultimately polka dot, but
- 12:11Speaker 7: I mean he was most recently on a podcast interview
- 12:13Speaker 7: saying that the biggest issue facing Polka dot is charding,
- 12:16Speaker 7: which is the architectural design decision that he ultimately made.
- 12:20Speaker 7: The second thing that and this isn't necessarily, you know,
- 12:24Speaker 7: a judgment against the design of Polka dot, but one
- 12:28Speaker 7: of the most obvious things that I try to track
- 12:30Speaker 7: are developers and the activity on a particular chain or
- 12:34Speaker 7: frankly even an open source project and see where they are.
- 12:36Speaker 7: And Ethereum clearly has the majority of those developers today.
- 12:40Speaker 7: But there's also a massive uptic of developers that are
- 12:42Speaker 7: now building on Slana.
- 12:43Speaker 3: Currently as I.
- 12:44Speaker 7: Sit here today, I don't see that level of activity
- 12:47Speaker 7: on Cardano or Polka Dot. And so you know, wherever
- 12:51Speaker 7: developers are there tends to be value. And so I
- 12:54Speaker 7: do think that the ambitious roadmap that he's putting in
- 12:56Speaker 7: front of us is is noble. Will developers actually believe it?
- 13:01Speaker 7: How long will it take to actually implement? And will
- 13:03Speaker 7: they have a solid go to market to get developers
- 13:06Speaker 7: to build on top of this new vision?
- 13:09Speaker 1: Well, I think you're right there is follow the devs.
- 13:11Speaker 1: That's you know, like any technology, especially emerging technology, what
- 13:15Speaker 1: we're seeing in blockchain right now and what most likely
- 13:17Speaker 1: will be maybe mainstream technology very soon with what we're
- 13:22Speaker 1: seeing just around this new administration coming on board. We
- 13:25Speaker 1: just did a livestream on this very topic. I want
- 13:27Speaker 1: to go into another point right here because this was
- 13:31Speaker 1: an interesting statement by stock twits. Let me kind of
- 13:34Speaker 1: zooming up there. Meme coins made easy, you'd be able
- 13:37Speaker 1: to actually get in and do meme coins on stock twits.
- 13:41Speaker 1: And of course, if you look at stock twits in general,
- 13:44Speaker 1: these guys have eight million users that are very active traders.
- 13:50Speaker 1: You know what the potential of where that might be
- 13:53Speaker 1: when you look at these kind of ecosystems, whether it's
- 13:55Speaker 1: a stock twits or others, and the idea of memes
- 13:59Speaker 1: that almost normalizes crypto to enormy. A person who's never
- 14:04Speaker 1: you know, they're coming in for the very first time.
- 14:06Speaker 1: They're not thinking fundamentals and they're definitely not thinking bitcoin
- 14:09Speaker 1: right off the bat, but.
- 14:10Speaker 2: They just want to earn quick earning.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Do you feel like this is a good thing for
- 14:13Speaker 1: the industry to kind of get people exposed to trading crypto.
- 14:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:19Speaker 7: Absolutely, and just full disclosure, I'm an advisor and investor
- 14:22Speaker 7: too in spot. It's a phenomenal product that's more or
- 14:26Speaker 7: less aiming to be the robinhood for mean coins. Their
- 14:29Speaker 7: integration with stock twits is huge. As you mentioned, there's
- 14:32Speaker 7: eight million users at least noted on their website.
- 14:34Speaker 3: They said ten million on the tweet.
- 14:37Speaker 7: Are all of those folks going to eventually end up
- 14:40Speaker 7: trading mean coins? Probably not, but some percentage of them
- 14:43Speaker 7: actually will. And I think the beauty of this is
- 14:45Speaker 7: that it's being at all of the wallet management and
- 14:48Speaker 7: kind of the user experienced challenges that come with onboarding
- 14:51Speaker 7: people in crypto is abstracted away on something like spot. Now,
- 14:55Speaker 7: is this this moral argument around our trading mean coins,
- 14:59Speaker 7: you know, good or bad? I don't really view it
- 15:02Speaker 7: either way. People have been speculating from the existence of
- 15:06Speaker 7: humans on this planet and they're never going to stop.
- 15:09Speaker 3: And in fact, if.
- 15:09Speaker 7: You look at things like sports gambling in the United States,
- 15:12Speaker 7: thirty four states, including the Washington d C, have legalized
- 15:14Speaker 7: it over the past you know, four years, and you've
- 15:16Speaker 7: got a triple digit kagger for every year of growth. Folks,
- 15:21Speaker 7: especially younger generation, they love to gamble on football games.
- 15:24Speaker 3: It's it's you know, it's a social aspect.
- 15:26Speaker 7: Stock twits is a social media site for for you know,
- 15:29Speaker 7: folks in the finance industry.
- 15:30Speaker 3: It's it just seems to make a lot of sense.
- 15:32Speaker 7: And more importantly though, there's traders on stock Twits, and
- 15:35Speaker 7: traders their job is to make money, and so by
- 15:38Speaker 7: having access to the highest performing sector of all of
- 15:42Speaker 7: crypto in twenty twenty four mean coins with the simple
- 15:45Speaker 7: click of a button, I think this is net positive
- 15:47Speaker 7: just for getting more people into crypto in general.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think that's the key here.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Is really the upside for this cycle and you know
- 15:55Speaker 1: mini cycles beyond.
- 15:57Speaker 2: This is really about adoption.
- 15:59Speaker 1: Everybody's been kind of talking about, you know, the explosion
- 16:02Speaker 1: of what we've seen in traditional capital, a lot of
- 16:04Speaker 1: institutionals moving into it, especially around what we've seen with
- 16:08Speaker 1: the ETFs. But with that, you got to look at
- 16:11Speaker 1: some of the cornerstones of crypto. One of course is
- 16:13Speaker 1: ethereum and I was just looking at currently if you
- 16:17Speaker 1: look at since den Coon, this is the blobs, which
- 16:20Speaker 1: essentially are some of the infrastructure of ETH and how
- 16:24Speaker 1: it's going to grow. One thing that Matthew Siegel, this
- 16:26Speaker 1: is coming over from Van k He says, each strength
- 16:29Speaker 1: confirmed now by fundamentals blops per block exceeding their critical level.
- 16:33Speaker 2: So this is a new deal.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Potentially this could cause some acceleration on base. There's a
- 16:38Speaker 1: lot of opportunity here to the upside. When you look
- 16:41Speaker 1: at this on ethereum and you kind of compare what's
- 16:44Speaker 1: happening with Solana, how would you compare the two if
- 16:48Speaker 1: you were an investor learning about this for the first time.
- 16:53Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean one of the challenges for an investor
- 16:56Speaker 7: coming into space is they tend to want to bring
- 16:57Speaker 7: traditional financial models like fund middle analysis to evaluate the
- 17:02Speaker 7: value of something. The challenge though, is as if you
- 17:05Speaker 7: dig into the details for something like ethereum and the
- 17:07Speaker 7: den can upgrade, it's actually not net positive for the
- 17:11Speaker 7: price of ethereum. It doesn't actually impact the deflationary narrative
- 17:15Speaker 7: that has been touted by the ethereum community for such
- 17:17Speaker 7: a long time, and so you believe it or not,
- 17:20Speaker 7: even when you have large amounts of blobs that are
- 17:23Speaker 7: that are being settled, it's not actually affecting, say the
- 17:26Speaker 7: price of ether. So you can be a fundamental, you know,
- 17:30Speaker 7: in agreement fundamentally with the technology and the changes that
- 17:32Speaker 7: etheroeum's making.
- 17:34Speaker 3: But if you look at the price and you compare
- 17:36Speaker 3: it relative to.
- 17:37Speaker 7: Bitcoin and relative to Salona, ethereum is dramatically underperforming both
- 17:42Speaker 7: of these assets today. Now Bitcoin clearly has the institutional
- 17:45Speaker 7: flows behind it. They now have options, tradings on the spot,
- 17:48Speaker 7: ETFs Solana is flipping every metric on ethereum to date.
- 17:54Speaker 7: In fact, even a protocol called geto which enables you know,
- 17:58Speaker 7: basically faster bundling. On Salana, they did more protocol revenant
- 18:04Speaker 7: revenue than tether ethereum. Basically every other protocol combined yesterday,
- 18:08Speaker 7: So that the fundamentals from an investor standpoint, if you're
- 18:13Speaker 7: looking at what's happening in the Salona ecosystem today, you
- 18:16Speaker 7: could still see Salona sitting at alta highs going wait
- 18:19Speaker 7: a second, is still one third.
- 18:21Speaker 3: The value of Etherea.
- 18:22Speaker 7: The activity on Ethereum is positive because we want to
- 18:24Speaker 7: see more activity on that network. But from an investors standpoint,
- 18:28Speaker 7: what's the relative value between these two? Is it better
- 18:31Speaker 7: to be own Ethereum or is it better to own
- 18:32Speaker 7: bitquin in Salona?
- 18:33Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 18:33Speaker 1: No, I think that's the quandary that everybody runs in
- 18:36Speaker 1: terms of performance and just return on your active assets.
- 18:40Speaker 1: So it is a challenge I think that everybody faces
- 18:43Speaker 1: when you look at Solana and the argument. And we've
- 18:46Speaker 1: had many very pro Salona people on including you know,
- 18:49Speaker 1: we're we're a pro Salona you know media company because
- 18:53Speaker 1: we've been covering it for a long time. We've seen
- 18:54Speaker 1: the highs and the lows. But the opportunity I think
- 18:58Speaker 1: to really kind of accelerate Slana is going to probably
- 19:01Speaker 1: come around decentralization or centralization, and many people would argue
- 19:07Speaker 1: that Solana is more centralized than it has been in
- 19:10Speaker 1: the past. What would you say to that right now?
- 19:13Speaker 7: Yeah, I would just say that the data empirically proves
- 19:15Speaker 7: that to be false. Right So, right now, for example,
- 19:17Speaker 7: if you look at Solana, there's over fourteen hundred validators.
- 19:21Speaker 7: It has an incredibly high knocked Nacamoto coefficient. But most importantly,
- 19:24Speaker 7: the majority of these validators are geographically dispersed in various
- 19:28Speaker 7: data centers that are not concentrated in something like Amazon.
- 19:31Speaker 7: So if you look at the majority of the validators
- 19:33Speaker 7: that are running on Ethereum right now, they're running an AWS.
- 19:37Speaker 7: So the Ethereum community loves to tout this decentralization maxim
- 19:41Speaker 7: but ultimately you're running inside of centralized data center that
- 19:45Speaker 7: could be coerced at some point in the future, versus
- 19:48Speaker 7: having the redundancy across myriad data centers.
- 19:51Speaker 3: We talk about the suite outage.
- 19:53Speaker 7: Here's another example, right, So, swet they had an issue
- 19:57Speaker 7: with the scheduler, which is pretty hard stuff. It had
- 20:00Speaker 7: nothing to do with the spike in activity. It's just
- 20:02Speaker 7: had to do with a bug and the scheduler code.
- 20:06Speaker 7: They have one hundred and seven validators, so they have
- 20:08Speaker 7: Solana has fourteen times that many.
- 20:12Speaker 3: So as we look.
- 20:12Speaker 7: At something like Salona, and people are simply saying that
- 20:15Speaker 7: this is a centralized network.
- 20:16Speaker 3: It's just empirically false.
- 20:18Speaker 7: And furthermore, the amount of actual stake that's on the
- 20:21Speaker 7: network continues to improve over time, especially with folks like
- 20:25Speaker 7: GDO enabling Geosol as their LST. People can just go
- 20:29Speaker 7: ahead and earn the yield by holding that token. This
- 20:32Speaker 7: is just kind of a positive flywheel effect, and it's
- 20:34Speaker 7: only leading towards even a higher Knockomoto coefficient and ultimately
- 20:38Speaker 7: better decentralization.
- 20:40Speaker 1: Okay, so a good argument, I think, you know, because
- 20:44Speaker 1: many people will will draw that one up quite a bit.
- 20:46Speaker 1: I want to go over to the regulatory framework that's
- 20:50Speaker 1: kind of setting up right now and a couple of
- 20:52Speaker 1: points that are starting to hit on. That is how
- 20:55Speaker 1: Trump's position and Congress in general, will you know addressed blockchain.
- 21:01Speaker 2: I want to go to a clip. This is Charles
- 21:03Speaker 2: again talking about this.
- 21:05Speaker 9: Talk us through exactly what those discussions look like, and
- 21:08Speaker 9: who are you speaking to in particular.
- 21:10Speaker 5: Not exactly clear, and how it's set up on the
- 21:12Speaker 5: executive side, but on the legislative side, it's very clear
- 21:15Speaker 5: what they want us to pass a law. Is there
- 21:16Speaker 5: a sense from you know, the senators that you're speaking
- 21:19Speaker 5: with that this time around there will be support to
- 21:21Speaker 5: get this enshrined into law.
- 21:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:25Speaker 5: The challenge is not will that a law get passed.
- 21:27Speaker 5: I think there's a very high probability that that's going
- 21:29Speaker 5: to occur. The challenge is what is the scope of it?
- 21:31Speaker 5: So I think there's a very strong bet that we're
- 21:33Speaker 5: going to resolve the is it a security or not
- 21:35Speaker 5: a security issue in twenty twenty five.
- 21:37Speaker 9: So you're saying that there's going to be some sort
- 21:38Speaker 9: of commission established for this.
- 21:41Speaker 5: So first off, it's hard to pick a commission or
- 21:44Speaker 5: even talk about a concept until the Treasury Secretary's been selected.
- 21:47Speaker 5: If there was, as are, I would navigate a gentleman
- 21:50Speaker 5: like Brian Armstrong for example, to be that person, and
- 21:53Speaker 5: then to build a subcommittee structure where subcommittees basically sit
- 21:56Speaker 5: under by topic, so you have the stable coins, exchanges
- 22:00Speaker 5: and these types of things. But again it's very early days,
- 22:03Speaker 5: and so I think it's probably gonna get resolved within
- 22:04Speaker 5: about sixty to ninety days. Treasury Secretary and Trump's people,
- 22:09Speaker 5: and they're far beyond my pay grade. I have no
- 22:11Speaker 5: idea where they're going.
- 22:13Speaker 1: All right, So some of the points he made there,
- 22:15Speaker 1: and I wanted to get your opinion. You look at Cardono,
- 22:18Speaker 1: you know, very decentralized in natural that's kind of their mantra.
- 22:24Speaker 1: You look at Solana mini blockchains that will look at decentralization.
- 22:27Speaker 1: But at the same time, Charles you know, kind of
- 22:29Speaker 1: pushed up Brian Armstrong, which is a centralized exchange.
- 22:33Speaker 2: So a little bit of an oxymoron.
- 22:35Speaker 1: There, But who would you select it as maybe a
- 22:38Speaker 1: cryptosar for the White House because this is probably going
- 22:41Speaker 1: to be a very a very critical position.
- 22:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:46Speaker 7: Look, I mean there's a handful of folks that come
- 22:48Speaker 7: to mind, but there's going to be trade off to
- 22:51Speaker 7: all of them. Right, So Brian Armstrong is you know,
- 22:54Speaker 7: arguably the face of US crypto at this point. But
- 22:57Speaker 7: Coinbase has been heavily lobbying in DC for quite some time,
- 23:01Speaker 7: so they have a lot of kind of hooks into
- 23:03Speaker 7: DC as.
- 23:03Speaker 3: It stands today.
- 23:04Speaker 7: And although yes, coinbas is a centralized exchange and they
- 23:08Speaker 7: are a publicly traded company, they have been pro crypto
- 23:11Speaker 7: for quite some time. Yes, they are at the behas
- 23:13Speaker 7: of shareholders in Wall Street, and so that can influence
- 23:16Speaker 7: their business making.
- 23:17Speaker 3: Decisions.
- 23:18Speaker 7: But ultimately, I do think that the work that coinbase
- 23:21Speaker 7: has done fighting you know, the good fight, so to speak,
- 23:25Speaker 7: from the regulation standpoint, but also ensuring that users feel
- 23:28Speaker 7: comfortable and confident using a centralized exchange to just be
- 23:31Speaker 7: able to gain access to crypto is you know, those
- 23:35Speaker 7: are the characteristics that I would like to see in ZAR.
- 23:38Speaker 7: On the other side of the spectrum, this is ironically
- 23:40Speaker 7: a former CTO of coinbas As, a guy by the
- 23:43Speaker 7: name of Bology Screening Vasen, who's one of the smartest
- 23:45Speaker 7: guys I know in the space beyond just crypto. You know,
- 23:48Speaker 7: He's had a genomics company that he sold. He's just
- 23:50Speaker 7: absolutely brilliant. He's been very forward thinking. And if Trump
- 23:54Speaker 7: actually wants to kind of live up to the mantra
- 23:57Speaker 7: of having a sea change style of as it relates
- 24:00Speaker 7: to digital assets and just frankly innovation in general AI
- 24:04Speaker 7: being included in that, having a huge thinker like Bology
- 24:08Speaker 7: Screenyvasen to come in and actually help shape that, I
- 24:12Speaker 7: think would be a huge win for the Trump administration
- 24:14Speaker 7: and frankly all of the entrepreneurs in the United States
- 24:17Speaker 7: that are trying to continue to build innovative products and services.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I've got to check back in on biology because
- 24:23Speaker 1: we've we've talked to him before and uh, you know,
- 24:26Speaker 1: he's been very anti not not US in general, but
- 24:30Speaker 1: he's you know, he's anti with what the regulatory framework
- 24:33Speaker 1: has been in the United States. Correct, hopefully his opinion
- 24:36Speaker 1: has started to shift now much more positive, hopefully with
- 24:39Speaker 1: what's happening now with his newest new administration. I want
- 24:43Speaker 1: a side step over into Propy, and I know you're
- 24:47Speaker 1: involved with it. I got a chance to see one
- 24:48Speaker 1: of your your talks there, but I want to go
- 24:50Speaker 1: to a clip here that's talking about the crypto escrow
- 24:54Speaker 1: that's taking place with Propy and what this might mean
- 24:57Speaker 1: for the market.
- 24:58Speaker 10: Let's go to that eleven zero point six percent of
- 25:02Speaker 10: home buyers in America used crypto for down payment during
- 25:08Speaker 10: the last round. Wow, they had to first exit crypto
- 25:12Speaker 10: and then buy property. So what this service allows is innovation.
- 25:17Speaker 10: It's a crypto escort service with property title, which is licensed.
- 25:22Speaker 10: Our crypto escro holds the crypto holding until the deal closes,
- 25:29Speaker 10: and then converted if the seller prefers to receive dollars.
- 25:33Speaker 9: I can imagine with the bull run that just have
- 25:36Speaker 9: exploded these days, we would see probably twenty thirty percent
- 25:42Speaker 9: of Americans, the young generation getting into home ownership.
- 25:47Speaker 10: To utilize those services. So we're very thrilled on a
- 25:52Speaker 10: timely manner we've launched this service.
- 25:56Speaker 1: So the reason I bring that up, we've had that's
- 25:59Speaker 1: the CEO of Proper. We've had her on talking about
- 26:01Speaker 1: Proppy many many months ago and the potential of real
- 26:05Speaker 1: estate and what that might look like.
- 26:07Speaker 2: Joe.
- 26:08Speaker 1: First of all, your opinion on what this could be
- 26:12Speaker 1: for real estate, because she is right, there's going to
- 26:14Speaker 1: be a lot of assets that might be looking for
- 26:17Speaker 1: even if it's just a small portion of exits going
- 26:20Speaker 1: into real estate. The opportunity of using crypto to do that.
- 26:23Speaker 1: Give me a breakdown where you see this going.
- 26:27Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean this is one of the most obvious
- 26:30Speaker 7: I think use cases when you look at certain verticals
- 26:35Speaker 7: or industries where there are layers and layers of bureaucracy
- 26:39Speaker 7: or middlemen. Right, even the payments industry is designed this way.
- 26:43Speaker 7: So just to run a credit card transaction, there's like
- 26:45Speaker 7: seven or eight different parties that all want to get
- 26:47Speaker 7: a piece of that and have there's their claim and
- 26:51Speaker 7: the critical path of that transaction getting through that gets
- 26:54Speaker 7: removed with things like stable coin transfers. Right, it's just
- 26:57Speaker 7: instantaneous settlement and there's really no one in the middle.
- 27:00Speaker 7: This is the same type of thing right title, property rights. This,
- 27:04Speaker 7: especially in the United States, I can't speak for other countries,
- 27:07Speaker 7: is unnecessarily bureaucratic and difficult for people to just simply
- 27:13Speaker 7: purchase a home from someone. And so by enabling the
- 27:17Speaker 7: custodying of people's crypto assets, let's just say bitcoin in
- 27:20Speaker 7: this scenario, not having to say, realize taxes or losses
- 27:26Speaker 7: on it if they want to actually purchase a home
- 27:28Speaker 7: is a huge benefit not only to the buyer, but
- 27:31Speaker 7: also potentially the seller if they're also a crypto holder.
- 27:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:36Speaker 1: I think this is a big factor because it's one
- 27:38Speaker 1: of the areas of real world assets that we have
- 27:40Speaker 1: not necessarily seen engage yet, and it's.
- 27:44Speaker 2: Been somewhat early.
- 27:46Speaker 1: Probably is one of the few handful of companies that
- 27:48Speaker 1: have started to kind of, you know, tread in this space.
- 27:51Speaker 1: So I'm definitely going to be watching that. I don't
- 27:54Speaker 1: want to bore you with this next clip, but I
- 27:56Speaker 1: want to get to the point.
- 27:58Speaker 2: And this of course you want to play it guys.
- 28:01Speaker 2: The guys are saying, we got to play this clip
- 28:03Speaker 2: for Joe. He's gonna love it.
- 28:04Speaker 1: All right, We're gonna play this clip for you. Let
- 28:06Speaker 1: you take a look at and see what you think.
- 28:09Speaker 3: Here it is in all its splendor.
- 28:11Speaker 11: Please knowe cryptocurrency payments will be accepted on this lot.
- 28:14Speaker 11: At the time of payment, We're gonna begin at eight
- 28:18Speaker 11: hundred thousand dollars at eight hundred thousand dollars, eight hundred
- 28:21Speaker 11: and fifty thousand dollars out one million, one hundred Thousand's
- 28:23Speaker 11: your bit, So one million, two hundred thousand, one million,
- 28:26Speaker 11: eight hundred thousand.
- 28:27Speaker 12: We're jenhua. Now two million dollars, So a two million
- 28:30Speaker 12: six is bit online.
- 28:31Speaker 11: Next bit's going to be two million eight Let's see
- 28:33Speaker 11: two million, eight hundred thousand AD three million dollars looking
- 28:36Speaker 11: for two now three million dollars?
- 28:37Speaker 3: See you outset yes.
- 28:41Speaker 12: At four million, nine hundred thousand, and say five please,
- 28:43Speaker 12: five million dollars at five million dollars. Here on my
- 28:47Speaker 12: right hand side of five million dollars.
- 28:49Speaker 3: These are words.
- 28:50Speaker 12: I never thought I'd say five million dollars for a banana.
- 28:53Speaker 12: Don't let it slip away? Five million, one hundred thousand, Jen,
- 28:59Speaker 12: you're gonna come in again, the world's most expensive banana
- 29:03Speaker 12: at five million, two hundred thirdsand fair warning at five million,
- 29:08Speaker 12: two hundred thousand dollars, Jen, the cats Alan is yours. Congratulations,
- 29:13Speaker 12: Thank you very much.
- 29:14Speaker 1: All Right, So we were having a little fun there
- 29:15Speaker 1: with that one, Joe. But the point is is with
- 29:18Speaker 1: the end and of course the bidding. If you guys
- 29:20Speaker 1: didn't catch that in the in the winning bid, that
- 29:22Speaker 1: was Justin's Sun, one of the billionaires in the tron network.
- 29:28Speaker 1: But if you look at that in general and you
- 29:30Speaker 1: just think about are we at the top? Is this
- 29:34Speaker 1: market now overheated? Is this maybe nearing the point of
- 29:39Speaker 1: maybe no return? You've got one hundred thousand dollars bitcoin
- 29:42Speaker 1: approaching all time high for Solana. Quite a few tokens
- 29:46Speaker 1: who have ten xt already meme coins have had their run.
- 29:50Speaker 2: What do you think, Joe? Is this just the beginning
- 29:52Speaker 2: or did the banana end it?
- 29:56Speaker 7: Well, you know, I think my buddy Ryo Paul, who
- 30:00Speaker 7: blamed the phrase the banana zone, is it's actually the beginning.
- 30:04Speaker 7: I actually don't think we're anywhere near the top. And
- 30:06Speaker 7: a lot of this has to do with the regulatory
- 30:09Speaker 7: changes that will be coming under the Trump administration. I mean, look,
- 30:12Speaker 7: Justin Sun is not new to these types of public
- 30:18Speaker 7: acts of for sure baiting people into engaging with him, right,
- 30:23Speaker 7: He's been doing this for a very long time. And
- 30:26Speaker 7: I think that the purchase of a piece of art
- 30:30Speaker 7: like that at that price, Look, people value things however
- 30:33Speaker 7: they want to, and it's really relative. The guy's a billionaire.
- 30:36Speaker 7: What's a few million dollars to him? You know, it's
- 30:39Speaker 7: his call. Ultimately, Is this a signal of something that
- 30:42Speaker 7: is topping?
- 30:43Speaker 3: No.
- 30:43Speaker 7: And the reason I say that is there's a couple
- 30:45Speaker 7: of things. One, we're not seeing a level of euphoria
- 30:48Speaker 7: like we saw in late twenty twenty one right now. Furthermore,
- 30:51Speaker 7: from the macro perspective, you're having central banks continue to
- 30:53Speaker 7: cut rates around the world. The Fed's going to cut
- 30:55Speaker 7: another twenty five BIPs in December. That's providing more liquidity
- 30:59Speaker 7: into the market. And then, third, again, I think just
- 31:01Speaker 7: the massive tailwind of having a Trump win as well
- 31:04Speaker 7: as a red sweep with the popular vote backing Trump
- 31:07Speaker 7: being a pro crypto candidate, engaging with so many people
- 31:10Speaker 7: in the crypto community, and frankly the Fair Shake Pack
- 31:12Speaker 7: being the most effective political action committee in this past election.
- 31:16Speaker 7: They the forty eight candidates that they've backed, they all won.
- 31:20Speaker 7: This is not a surprise, I think from you folks
- 31:24Speaker 7: that have been tracking what's happening in DC.
- 31:26Speaker 3: But DC now has to act on that. Now.
- 31:29Speaker 7: We can discount some of what Trump said on the
- 31:32Speaker 7: campaign trail, but the perception is that these things are coming,
- 31:36Speaker 7: and that's ultimately with drives markets and I just don't
- 31:38Speaker 7: think we're anywhere near done.
- 31:39Speaker 2: Well.
- 31:40Speaker 1: I think you hit it right there on the head,
- 31:41Speaker 1: and that is narratives. Narratives start playing into this, and
- 31:45Speaker 1: especially in these early cycles where many of these advanced
- 31:48Speaker 1: traders they picked these up early enough to where they
- 31:50Speaker 1: can truly benefit from them. So I think you're right there.
- 31:54Speaker 2: My last clip for you, I.
- 31:55Speaker 1: Promised, Joe, and then I'm going to let you go.
- 31:57Speaker 1: And this is talking because this is getting into mainstream option.
- 32:00Speaker 1: And this is the thing that I argue all the time,
- 32:02Speaker 1: is there certain trigger points that have to happen for
- 32:05Speaker 1: something to really take off. And we're in still very
- 32:09Speaker 1: early stage of all of it, including Solana's life cycle.
- 32:12Speaker 1: But I want to play this last clip on McDonald's
- 32:14Speaker 1: for you.
- 32:15Speaker 2: Take a look.
- 32:16Speaker 7: McDonald is teasing their biggest VENU upgrade since the Big
- 32:19Speaker 7: Mac and guess what it's Crypto.
- 32:21Speaker 3: On November twelfth, McDonald's tease the Doodle's collab.
- 32:26Speaker 1: One hundred million limited edition hot Beverage McCafe cups only
- 32:30Speaker 1: for the US, though through the McDonald's app, you'll receive
- 32:32Speaker 1: an email where you can claim your digital apparel for
- 32:34Speaker 1: your Doodle's character. Run to McDonald's and go get you
- 32:37Speaker 1: a hot coffee.
- 32:42Speaker 9: Street. We're walking to the moon lots in hand.
- 32:48Speaker 7: I got this for a dollar on the app, and
- 32:50Speaker 7: I want to go get five more, just to have
- 32:53Speaker 7: as disposable cups.
- 32:54Speaker 4: At my house.
- 32:54Speaker 5: I thought one hundred million cups is very limited, but
- 32:56Speaker 5: I wonder if these will sell an youboo ma.
- 32:57Speaker 2: Right schell drop these rare collectors packed page.
- 33:00Speaker 1: There's only three thousand of each set available.
- 33:03Speaker 3: This is what happened.
- 33:04Speaker 4: The floor price for Doodles went through the roof and
- 33:07Speaker 4: it sort of stayed there.
- 33:08Speaker 2: So I don't know about you, but I know where
- 33:10Speaker 2: I'm getting coffee on Monday.
- 33:11Speaker 3: Doodles Coffee Cups, The Doodles Coffee Cups. Doodles Doodles coffee cups.
- 33:20Speaker 9: The Doodles coffee cups.
- 33:23Speaker 1: So nine out of ten times, I don't even know
- 33:26Speaker 1: what the fuck we are showing her at mcdonmal's.
- 33:29Speaker 3: I don't even know what is this for?
- 33:31Speaker 2: For what?
- 33:32Speaker 3: But it's so cute? Is it?
- 33:34Speaker 8: Only in there?
- 33:35Speaker 1: People are gonna get men the Doodle's coffee cups?
- 33:39Speaker 9: Can I get like five level?
- 33:41Speaker 3: Let me let me ask you one second, I'm sorry.
- 33:44Speaker 2: Okay acquired?
- 33:47Speaker 1: Okay, Joe, you didn't know that this was a comedy show.
- 33:49Speaker 2: Did you?
- 33:51Speaker 3: I did not.
- 33:53Speaker 1: Our guys will get going on some of these things.
- 33:55Speaker 1: But the point I'm making is that when you look
- 33:57Speaker 1: at McDonald's, this is the retailer of food taking a
- 34:02Speaker 1: dive into blockchain, and they're doing it in a fun
- 34:04Speaker 1: way with Doodles an NFT collection. I mean, but what
- 34:07Speaker 1: happens when we see real serious entries into this space,
- 34:11Speaker 1: whether it's in real world assets, you know, more companies
- 34:15Speaker 1: holding bitcoin and other assets on their treasury. Where do
- 34:19Speaker 1: you think that could potentially go? With McDonald's taking the lead?
- 34:24Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 34:24Speaker 7: Look, I mean so, first of all, like I was
- 34:26Speaker 7: former CTO at one of the top ad agencies in
- 34:28Speaker 7: New York, City.
- 34:28Speaker 3: This is a brand activation.
- 34:30Speaker 7: There was likely some deal that was cut between McDonald's
- 34:32Speaker 7: and Doodles. This could have been, you know, the same
- 34:35Speaker 7: craze that we saw with the Stanley cups a little
- 34:37Speaker 7: over a year ago. Right, it's the same kind of concept,
- 34:40Speaker 7: and these things go viral for whatever reason. But this
- 34:44Speaker 7: is a brand activation. This isn't necessarily the path to
- 34:47Speaker 7: onboarding more people into Crypto. However, it's going to drum
- 34:51Speaker 7: up interest. You know, even the woman that was suggesting
- 34:53Speaker 7: that she doesn't even know what they're selling.
- 34:54Speaker 3: Maybe she's going to look into that.
- 34:55Speaker 7: And what is a doodle? Oh, it's an NFT. It's
- 34:57Speaker 7: on ethereum. What is ethereum? I need to get a wallet,
- 34:59Speaker 7: all these types of things.
- 35:00Speaker 3: Right.
- 35:01Speaker 7: My perspective for a couple of years now has been
- 35:03Speaker 7: that mobile is going to be the thing that is
- 35:05Speaker 7: the big kind of unlock, kind of step function improvement
- 35:09Speaker 7: in the amount of people that are actually onboarded into crypto.
- 35:12Speaker 7: But most importantly, the crypto is going to be abstracted away.
- 35:15Speaker 7: So whether it's a video game, it's you know, there's
- 35:18Speaker 7: an application on a Slama called Moonwalk where it's you know,
- 35:21Speaker 7: competitive you know, steps that you take on a weekly
- 35:24Speaker 7: or daily basis, where you have these competitions, all of
- 35:27Speaker 7: the crypto is mostly abstracted away, and that I think
- 35:30Speaker 7: is ultimately what's going to get the next huge boom
- 35:33Speaker 7: in users is going to be through the mobile device.
- 35:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I would agree with you.
- 35:36Speaker 1: I think that is going to be one of the
- 35:38Speaker 1: major advancements on it.
- 35:40Speaker 2: And what we'll see.
- 35:41Speaker 1: What do you make of this last issue, and that
- 35:43Speaker 1: is Gary Gensler stepping down today or at least saying
- 35:47Speaker 1: that he's going to step down on the twentieth of January.
- 35:50Speaker 2: Is that big?
- 35:51Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 35:52Speaker 7: I mean I was, I was on I was on
- 35:54Speaker 7: Yahoo Finance the other day talking about this, and my
- 35:57Speaker 7: view was that, you know, I'm not a lawyer, but
- 36:00Speaker 7: Trump can't legally remove the chair of the SEC. However
- 36:04Speaker 7: I find it. I found it then and I'm not
- 36:06Speaker 7: surprised to see this today. Next one possible that someone
- 36:09Speaker 7: like Gerry Ginster is going to remain at the SEC
- 36:12Speaker 7: under a Trump administration.
- 36:13Speaker 3: I mean, the con man its life absolute hell.
- 36:15Speaker 7: And so this is just I think, you know, sort
- 36:19Speaker 7: of the last hurrah of the current administration's enforcement actions
- 36:25Speaker 7: policy for regulating crypto and hopefully ushering a new era
- 36:30Speaker 7: of just clarity. We're not looking for wild wild West again.
- 36:33Speaker 7: What we're looking for is just clarity so we know,
- 36:36Speaker 7: not only as investors but also the entrepreneurs, what the
- 36:39Speaker 7: guardrails are, what the rules are, what the frameworks are,
- 36:42Speaker 7: so that we can actually, you know, be the leader
- 36:44Speaker 7: when it comes to crypto, blockchain and web three based
- 36:47Speaker 7: technology and innovation.
- 36:48Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure. Joe mccannon, thanks again for stopping in today.
- 36:51Speaker 1: We appreciate. We'll definitely have you back on the show
- 36:53Speaker 1: soon as Solano breaks three hundred, which I think is coming.
- 36:57Speaker 3: So we' twnny that's where it's going.
- 37:00Speaker 2: That's the number, all right. I like you, all right,
- 37:02Speaker 2: thanks a lot, Joe, appreciate it. Are you guys? If
- 37:04Speaker 2: you're not.
- 37:05Speaker 1: In the Diamond Circle, make sure and jump in right now.
- 37:07Speaker 1: That's our own private group. It's very easy to join.
