- 0:21Speaker 1: It's been a while since we've seen our friend Salakata.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Check out his podcast, The Salacata Show wherever you get
- 0:26Speaker 1: your podcast. I am telling you everyone is feisty this morning.
- 0:30Speaker 1: I don't know what is going on. Mikey A and
- 0:32Speaker 1: Taylor got into a fight over baseball. I haven't seen
- 0:35Speaker 1: one of those since the eighties. We'll get to that
- 0:38Speaker 1: in just a second. But Taylor greeted sal today by saying,
- 0:42Speaker 1: because Sala is wearing an Eminem t shirt that he
- 0:45Speaker 1: didn't feel not the candy the rapper that Taylor doesn't
- 0:49Speaker 1: think or didn't fancy sal As some sort of rap fan.
- 0:52Speaker 2: What are you doing there?
- 0:53Speaker 3: I had Salas like a dad Rock, like a dad
- 0:55Speaker 3: Jams guy.
- 0:57Speaker 2: What the hell is that all about it?
- 0:59Speaker 4: I don't understand life house.
- 1:01Speaker 5: I mean, come on, I do the man, I forty six.
- 1:05Speaker 5: Eminem was popular right my wheelhouse as I first started driving.
- 1:08Speaker 5: I mean, I love hip hop rap. That was my
- 1:10Speaker 5: first love music wise, Creed, how do I get Bill?
- 1:15Speaker 6: Like?
- 1:15Speaker 5: Do I dress like somebody who listens to Yacht Rocket?
- 1:18Speaker 5: I think it's the.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Fact that you have a kid now that I just
- 1:20Speaker 3: kind of disassociated you with with the rap game.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Right I mean, he's right about that. Listen. I grew up,
- 1:27Speaker 2: I loved my music.
- 1:28Speaker 1: I didn't expect myself to love the Wiggles, and there
- 1:30Speaker 1: I was just listening to the Wiggles.
- 1:32Speaker 2: I mean, that's what kids do to you, you know.
- 1:34Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, come on, you don't have kids and
- 1:36Speaker 5: then forget all sense of music. Although I will say
- 1:38Speaker 5: I went to a Benson Boone concert recently and I
- 1:40Speaker 5: love him, but like, nothing compares to Eminem in his
- 1:43Speaker 5: heyday come even now, I love his latest album.
- 1:46Speaker 3: So what I think happened there was if you told
- 1:48Speaker 3: me Saul could listen to one artist for the rest
- 1:50Speaker 3: of their life, and you presented Eminem and Bruce Springsteen,
- 1:54Speaker 3: I would almost guess Bruce Springsteen every.
- 1:55Speaker 6: Time, right, Oh dude, No, No, I'm the opposite.
- 1:58Speaker 5: I don't even I'm afraid to say this because I
- 2:00Speaker 5: don't want to offense to or anybody that loves Bruce.
- 2:02Speaker 5: I'm not even a Bruce guy. Yeah, I mean, I
- 2:04Speaker 5: look at Bruce. He's the one who created that, uh
- 2:06Speaker 5: that nice Christmas song, right, Bruce Springsteen. That that's how
- 2:10Speaker 5: I know him. I mean, Billy Joel a different story.
- 2:13Speaker 5: Bruce not so much.
- 2:14Speaker 2: I am not a Bruce Springsteen fan.
- 2:15Speaker 1: I like Bruce ah yes, but unlike the rest of
- 2:18Speaker 1: the media, I don't swear by Bruce Springsteen. It's like, uh,
- 2:22Speaker 1: do you do you have a Matt Rushmore of rappers?
- 2:24Speaker 1: Before I get to Mikey here.
- 2:26Speaker 5: Eminem Nas, I mean, am I allowed to put Kanye
- 2:29Speaker 5: West on?
- 2:30Speaker 6: There?
- 2:30Speaker 2: It's your Mount Rushmore?
- 2:31Speaker 6: I mean, I know, I'm just.
- 2:34Speaker 4: You can you can separate the person from the music?
- 2:37Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 2:37Speaker 5: Uh boy, that's a tough one. I'm gonna regret this
- 2:40Speaker 5: afterward because it was off the top of my head,
- 2:42Speaker 5: eminem Nas, Kanye.
- 2:45Speaker 6: Probably go biggie over jay Z.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Wow, You're gonna regret, yes.
- 2:50Speaker 5: And I wouldn't put I wouldn't put Snoop on. He's
- 2:52Speaker 5: like a Snoop was better as a featured artist, you
- 2:54Speaker 5: know what I'm saying.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Yeah, So, do you feel like Eminem kind of hurt
- 2:57Speaker 3: his legacy the past ten years because it's almost like
- 3:00Speaker 3: a Emmett Smith on the Cardinals type run. Every time
- 3:03Speaker 3: he puts out an album.
- 3:06Speaker 5: That is that is wash your mouth out with that disrespect?
- 3:10Speaker 2: Are you insane?
- 3:12Speaker 5: Come on?
- 3:12Speaker 4: Bro?
- 3:13Speaker 5: Recovery was one of the great albums ever even this
- 3:15Speaker 5: last one, the last one, death of Slim Shady. He
- 3:17Speaker 5: kills off Slim Shady, Marshall Mathers and Slim battling back
- 3:20Speaker 5: and forth. I thought I would have figured you were
- 3:23Speaker 5: an eminem guy here. I am wrong. I thought you
- 3:25Speaker 5: were an eminem guy.
- 3:26Speaker 3: No, I grew up in an eminem guy. I also
- 3:29Speaker 3: grew up a fifty cent guy. Fifty was my guy
- 3:32Speaker 3: in the early two thousands. But I think the most
- 3:34Speaker 3: worried my mom ever was was when I was wrapping
- 3:38Speaker 3: many men in like third grade, as just a white
- 3:41Speaker 3: kid from the suburbs, talking about getting shot and having
- 3:45Speaker 3: blood in my eyes.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Oh wow, Mikey, did you have something there?
- 3:51Speaker 7: No, I was just gonna ask Sal what his most
- 3:54Speaker 7: controversial music take is. I mean we've all seen some
- 3:57Speaker 7: of its controversial sports takes. Yeah, but like from me, like,
- 4:00Speaker 7: I'll just say it. I don't get the Beatles, don't get.
- 4:03Speaker 2: It yep overrated. I'm with you, yes, yeah, yeah.
- 4:06Speaker 5: Wow, you you're with him too.
- 4:08Speaker 4: Now.
- 4:08Speaker 5: I'm not a diehard Beatles guy. I have a hard
- 4:10Speaker 5: time with the younger generation, like even forty year olds
- 4:13Speaker 5: loving the Beatles Like that's odd to me. I don't
- 4:16Speaker 5: think I could hop the Beatles are overrated.
- 4:18Speaker 6: Take I will say though.
- 4:21Speaker 5: Like recently because I went to see Benzon Boone and I.
- 4:22Speaker 6: Was like, I think the guy's great.
- 4:24Speaker 5: People adult males looking at me like, oh, you know,
- 4:27Speaker 5: sports fans like, how could you like Benson Boone?
- 4:29Speaker 6: What are you?
- 4:29Speaker 5: A ten year old girl? Now? I like Benson Boone.
- 4:32Speaker 5: I think he has great music. It is gonna be
- 4:33Speaker 5: a star, but I don't know if I have I
- 4:35Speaker 5: think jay Z is overrated?
- 4:36Speaker 2: Is that?
- 4:37Speaker 5: Is that a strong like? I like him? But jay
- 4:39Speaker 5: Z's jay Z's not on the level of at their best.
- 4:42Speaker 6: I know Tupac, you know got killed, But.
- 4:45Speaker 5: Like Tupac at his best blows away jay Z, I
- 4:47Speaker 5: think Eminem at his best blows even Nas to me
- 4:50Speaker 5: is a better rapper than jay Z.
- 4:51Speaker 3: If we're doing music hot takes. One of my music
- 4:53Speaker 3: hot takes is I think Olivia Rodrigo should get the
- 4:56Speaker 3: hype that Taylor Swift gets. Just sit on that one
- 5:01Speaker 3: st over.
- 5:04Speaker 2: I'm wondering why he fell need to give it. I
- 5:07Speaker 2: gotta be honest with you. I just wanted to put
- 5:09Speaker 2: it out there right.
- 5:10Speaker 1: You thought your mentions were gonna be bad about your
- 5:12Speaker 1: Jay about your mountin rushbore, wait until jay Z is overrated.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Enjoy those mentions. I mean, you're not worried about does.
- 5:20Speaker 6: That would beat the Beatles?
- 5:21Speaker 4: People are jay Z's couldn't be on your twitter feed?
- 5:24Speaker 2: So right?
- 5:25Speaker 4: I like him.
- 5:26Speaker 5: I just think he's over it ment.
- 5:31Speaker 2: So sal, I couldn't believe it.
- 5:33Speaker 5: Uh.
- 5:34Speaker 2: We had Mike Alco on an Hour number one.
- 5:36Speaker 1: But before Alco came on, the head coach of Texas
- 5:38Speaker 1: A and m he's a big Yankee fan.
- 5:40Speaker 2: We asked him about school ball.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Taylor and mikey A got into an argument about baseball,
- 5:45Speaker 1: and again, I haven't heard this since the eighties with
- 5:48Speaker 1: Mike and Chris.
- 5:49Speaker 2: If I'm honest with you.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Taylor, why don't you lay down the foundation of the argument.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Let's see who Sala agrees with.
- 5:55Speaker 3: Okay, Yeah, So I was making the argument for why
- 5:57Speaker 3: the Yankees traded for Luis s Garcia g and Mike
- 6:00Speaker 3: Key was just being an idiot saying that he didn't
- 6:02Speaker 3: understand why the Yankees Garcia Jr.
- 6:07Speaker 4: That's that's a fair recap of how it happened.
- 6:10Speaker 5: I think there's a there's a somewhere in between here
- 6:13Speaker 5: where you can't argue that he's not gonna make them
- 6:17Speaker 5: better offensively, and they've struggled offensive Like, he's arguably the
- 6:21Speaker 5: best bat available on the market, which is not I mean,
- 6:24Speaker 5: it's not very good, but at least he's a high
- 6:27Speaker 5: contact guy, which they don't have. He's a power bat.
- 6:30Speaker 5: The problem is, and this is like a simple question
- 6:33Speaker 5: that I might text Boony myself later, but like I'm
- 6:35Speaker 5: sure somebody's asked him. Hey, it's a great addition. He's
- 6:37Speaker 5: gonna help you off Where are you going to play him?
- 6:41Speaker 5: He's a left handed hitting first base latch DH. That's
- 6:44Speaker 5: the last thing that they need. So right now, he'll
- 6:47Speaker 5: be a bulk DH when they get healthy. How do
- 6:50Speaker 5: you get all your bets best bats in the line
- 6:53Speaker 5: of bet The Yankees just have had a poorly constructed
- 6:56Speaker 5: team for years, probably because of John Carlos Stanton. But still,
- 7:00Speaker 5: I mean, it's just like, yeah, let's get a bat
- 7:02Speaker 5: we could use the offense. Where's gonna play I don't know,
- 7:04Speaker 5: we'll figure it out later.
- 7:06Speaker 4: Sounds like sala is kind of agreeing with me.
- 7:08Speaker 2: He does in that it's not against the player.
- 7:12Speaker 4: I get it. It's a good player.
- 7:13Speaker 7: It's a good bat last I checked Anthony Volpi, Ryan McMahon,
- 7:17Speaker 7: Austin Wells still have to bat with with with Garcia
- 7:20Speaker 7: and the lineup and then chum In.
- 7:22Speaker 3: Yes, And my point was just your team that cannot hit,
- 7:26Speaker 3: you got a guy that could hit.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Period.
- 7:28Speaker 3: He's He's in the ninety second percent tile among hitters
- 7:31Speaker 3: in terms of batting run value. He doesn't strike out,
- 7:34Speaker 3: he doesn't chase pitches. He hits for average, and he
- 7:36Speaker 3: hits for home runs. He bats two ninety five versus lefties.
- 7:40Speaker 3: He bats too eighteen against oh He bats two ninety
- 7:43Speaker 3: five against righty's, two eighteen against lefties. Paul gold Schmitt
- 7:47Speaker 3: bats two oh one against righty's. Paul Goldchmitt bats three
- 7:50Speaker 3: to zho six against lefties. The answer for where he's
- 7:53Speaker 3: gonna play seems pretty simple. Is it just the word platoon?
- 7:56Speaker 3: Are people afraid of the word platoon having a negative
- 7:59Speaker 3: connotation for acquiring a guy?
- 8:01Speaker 5: So he's platooning the d H spot with a guy
- 8:04Speaker 5: who was supposed to be the platoon first baseman with
- 8:06Speaker 5: Ben Rice Like, it's all the same to me, it's
- 8:10Speaker 5: the same thing. It's a jumble.
- 8:11Speaker 4: Yes, he is a poorly put together team, right. That's
- 8:15Speaker 4: that's the point.
- 8:15Speaker 5: Knew what you can't fix with one move, and certainly
- 8:17Speaker 5: not a move where you're bringing a player who plays
- 8:20Speaker 5: a position and hits from the side that they don't
- 8:22Speaker 5: need right now. They need a right handed hitting either
- 8:25Speaker 5: outfielder or somebody who could play third or short certainly
- 8:28Speaker 5: catch it now. I still think the Yankees will make
- 8:29Speaker 5: some moves, but but it was just like, Okay, good,
- 8:32Speaker 5: you added the good hitter. Now where's he gonna play?
- 8:34Speaker 5: See simple like answer me the question where is he
- 8:37Speaker 5: going to play? Well, he's gonna be a part time
- 8:38Speaker 5: DH well. I mean that's your big acquisition. Part time
- 8:42Speaker 5: dhe well.
- 8:43Speaker 2: The trade I mean the trade ads of tape.
- 8:45Speaker 1: At the moment we're taping this, the trade deadline is
- 8:47Speaker 1: not done, so we don't know if the Yankees are
- 8:49Speaker 1: gonna make another move here, but for now, that is
- 8:51Speaker 1: the move.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Yes, And just to be clear, my only complaint with
- 8:54Speaker 3: this Yankee team is that they haven't acquired enough bats.
- 8:58Speaker 3: I wanted them to get Luisa ro before went to
- 9:01Speaker 3: the Phillies, and my thought process is, let's get more
- 9:05Speaker 3: hitters into this lineup. Let's replace the jazz Chisholms. I'm
- 9:08Speaker 3: with Mikey. Replace Ryan mcpahn, replace the Voltpie Caballero, replace
- 9:13Speaker 3: Austin Wells. Get these automatic outs out of the lineup,
- 9:17Speaker 3: and then we'll figure out down the road where everybody's
- 9:20Speaker 3: gonna play. Because I am so done watching this team
- 9:24Speaker 3: fight for their life to try to score one to
- 9:26Speaker 3: two runs in a game. Where over the last six games,
- 9:30Speaker 3: the Yankees have a The Yankees starters have a point
- 9:33Speaker 3: seven to three e er. They're three and three in
- 9:36Speaker 3: those in those six games, but they're without.
- 9:38Speaker 5: Three of their best four offensive playoffs.
- 9:41Speaker 3: When are they coming back?
- 9:42Speaker 5: Well, but but if they don't come back, it's a rap.
- 9:45Speaker 5: The season's over anyway, they they are. Everybody keeps up. Oh,
- 9:48Speaker 5: the Yankees need a right handed back. Oh, I wonder
- 9:49Speaker 5: where they're gonna get one. Judge and Stanton should be
- 9:52Speaker 5: coming back. Stanton sooner than Judge, and by the way,
- 9:54Speaker 5: Bellinger should be coming back. Tell me how that lineup
- 9:57Speaker 5: will look with Judge, Bellinger and Stanton in there. So
- 9:59Speaker 5: the the offensive problem, and the Yankees gonna make the
- 10:01Speaker 5: postseason even if those guys don't come back until October first,
- 10:04Speaker 5: There'll be a postseason team. So to me, I'm not
- 10:07Speaker 5: worried about the lack of offense. Yeah, sure, on the
- 10:09Speaker 5: short term, Garcia will hope. I'm worried about how are
- 10:11Speaker 5: they getting over the hump in the postseason to compete
- 10:14Speaker 5: with the team like the Dodgers. And I don't know
- 10:16Speaker 5: if there's any moves at this point that could be
- 10:18Speaker 5: made that would get them to that level. By the way,
- 10:20Speaker 5: maybe not even worry about the Dodgers. Worry about the
- 10:22Speaker 5: Rays and the Red Sox within their own division.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Yep, Mikey, I have to tell you, Taylor was in
- 10:26Speaker 1: the studio right before we started. He was so confident
- 10:29Speaker 1: that sald was going to agree with him.
- 10:31Speaker 3: No, No, I knew Salad. So I'm looking at some
- 10:38Speaker 3: of the names, and some of the names are are
- 10:40Speaker 3: seemingly coming off the board where Adley Rutschman was was
- 10:44Speaker 3: thrown out as a potential bat for this Yankees. But
- 10:46Speaker 3: would the Orioles trade him into the division? John Hayman's
- 10:50Speaker 3: reporting that the sides are moving closer to a deal
- 10:52Speaker 3: between the Red Sox and the Orioles.
- 10:54Speaker 6: So, dude, the Red Sox just keep.
- 10:56Speaker 3: Getting better, and now Taylor Ward's coming off the board
- 10:59Speaker 3: for the Orioles, who are just in free sale mode
- 11:02Speaker 3: at this point, with the Mariners set to acquire him.
- 11:05Speaker 7: Hold on a second, style, you just said you didn't
- 11:07Speaker 7: know that the Orioles would make the trade in the division,
- 11:10Speaker 7: but they're trading him to the Red Sox, who last.
- 11:12Speaker 5: I checked, No, I'm in the division. I'm saying that.
- 11:15Speaker 7: In the end, I'm saying Cashman just doesn't want to
- 11:19Speaker 7: part with his guys because he's so worried about how
- 11:22Speaker 7: he's viewed in developing town.
- 11:23Speaker 5: We could argue about school Bawl and like, I wanted
- 11:26Speaker 5: the Yankees to get him because the Dodgers said, like,
- 11:28Speaker 5: how come the Dodgers, the back to back World Cheries champions,
- 11:30Speaker 5: can say, you know what, there's only one impact player
- 11:32Speaker 5: of the deadline. Let's identify him school Ball and go
- 11:35Speaker 5: get him. Let's not mess around with all the other guys.
- 11:37Speaker 5: We'll go get him. Great, they do it. That's why
- 11:39Speaker 5: I wanted the Yankees to do it. Now you're talking
- 11:42Speaker 5: about potentially losing out on the best catcher in Rutchman,
- 11:45Speaker 5: who's gonna get traded within the division to another team.
- 11:48Speaker 5: If the Yankees lose out on Rutchman and he goes
- 11:50Speaker 5: to the Red Sox. How do you not justify the
- 11:53Speaker 5: Yankees are screwing this up here?
- 11:55Speaker 1: I am listen, I'm just grateful there are three people
- 11:58Speaker 1: who are still this passionate about baseball and all three
- 12:00Speaker 1: of them are on this zoom.
- 12:01Speaker 2: I mean, it's unbelievable.
- 12:02Speaker 3: And I am so sick of the frickin' prospect clutching
- 12:07Speaker 3: from some people where it's like, we can't trade this guy,
- 12:10Speaker 3: we can't trade that guy. All we heard about was
- 12:12Speaker 3: Jason Dominguez was this great Martian prospect. He's been average
- 12:18Speaker 3: average to blow average. People thought Anthony Volpi was as
- 12:21Speaker 3: close to a can't miss prospect in terms of his hitting.
- 12:24Speaker 3: He's been below average hitting. Stop stop, everybody stop saying
- 12:30Speaker 3: this prospect can't be traded. Because Spencer Jones was also
- 12:33Speaker 3: one of those names saying, yeah, you can't include him
- 12:36Speaker 3: in trades, and he's been he's been a disappointment. He
- 12:39Speaker 3: was good in the Cup Series, though, I'll give him that.
- 12:41Speaker 5: That's why this is years in the making. It's not
- 12:43Speaker 5: just this year with the Yankees, to Mikey's point before,
- 12:46Speaker 5: they have been poorly constructed for years. They have been
- 12:48Speaker 5: reluctant to either go over the top and spending or
- 12:51Speaker 5: go over the top in trading prospects, whether it is
- 12:53Speaker 5: Volpi or Spencer Jones or demingas the Martian. Look at
- 12:56Speaker 5: how these guys have panned out. Austin Wells, same thing.
- 12:59Speaker 5: The reasons for the Yankees lack of offense is not
- 13:01Speaker 5: because of the guys that were hurt. It's because of
- 13:02Speaker 5: all those guys that were supposed to be good. They stink,
- 13:05Speaker 5: Boby Wells, John, They can't do anything they make it.
- 13:08Speaker 5: They haven't been even a fraction of what they were
- 13:09Speaker 5: supposed to be, so please spare me. That's why always
- 13:13Speaker 5: I would always want to be in the position of
- 13:15Speaker 5: just sure, you want this prospect, so be it. Have them.
- 13:18Speaker 5: Of course, when the Mets decided to do it years ago,
- 13:20Speaker 5: they trade Pete crow Armstrong for Hobby Bias, the one
- 13:23Speaker 5: guy who could run at Choe Heo Tani for a
- 13:25Speaker 5: freaking MVP.
- 13:26Speaker 1: I'm glad you brought up Pete crow Armstrong because he
- 13:30Speaker 1: doesn't believe that Babe Ruth exists.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Your thoughts, South.
- 13:34Speaker 5: I did not see that that might be. That's how
- 13:38Speaker 5: the Mount Rushmore Wars takes ever along with Kyrie Irving
- 13:40Speaker 5: saying the world is flat. Yes, aren't these haven't these
- 13:44Speaker 5: things proven? Like I'm not big cyans and all that,
- 13:48Speaker 5: but I'm pretty sure there's video of Babe Ruth hitting
- 13:50Speaker 5: home runs and stuff, so I don't know about that.
- 13:52Speaker 1: When you make a scoop ball to the Dodgers, baseball
- 13:54Speaker 1: does have a problem. It's not the Dodgers. The Dodgers
- 13:57Speaker 1: are trying to win. It's the rest of the team
- 13:59Speaker 1: not trying to win. That's the problem.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Solve.
- 14:01Speaker 5: I'm with you, Stu, and I don't understand how people
- 14:04Speaker 5: don't comprehend that part of it. Wouldn't everybody who is
- 14:08Speaker 5: a I don't care which team you're a fan of.
- 14:10Speaker 5: If you're a baseball fan, wouldn't you want your team
- 14:13Speaker 5: to do whatever it takes to win, Yes, and operate
- 14:16Speaker 5: like the Dodgers. The Yankees used to do it. I
- 14:19Speaker 5: think the Mets have the resources to do it, they
- 14:21Speaker 5: just can't figure out the right pieces. The Dodgers are
- 14:23Speaker 5: doing it, Like that's the problem with baseball the Dodgers.
- 14:26Speaker 5: Now you want to get into the deferrals, that might
- 14:28Speaker 5: be a different issue. If there's some semantics there, like
- 14:30Speaker 5: legally should that be allot whatever, But they're trying to win.
- 14:33Speaker 5: That's what everybody in the sport, in all sports, would
- 14:35Speaker 5: be trying to do, try to win.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Yes, the problem is you have the Tigers who are
- 14:39Speaker 1: two and a half, I believe, out of the wildcard,
- 14:41Speaker 1: the last wildcard spot.
- 14:42Speaker 2: They get rid of school Well, the best pitcher in baseball.
- 14:45Speaker 1: And then you have teams like the Brewers who are
- 14:47Speaker 1: concerned not about trading for him, but about the four
- 14:50Speaker 1: hundred million dollar contract they're gonna have to give him
- 14:53Speaker 1: after the season, So therefore they don't go after him
- 14:56Speaker 1: and get them.
- 14:56Speaker 5: So the Dodgers do White. Yeah, but why can't why
- 14:59Speaker 5: can't the Bruis. See that's a great example, and it's
- 15:01Speaker 5: a great point. Okay, we only know a handful of
- 15:03Speaker 5: teams might be in the running to be able to
- 15:04Speaker 5: sign school Bowl long term. But if you're the Brewers,
- 15:08Speaker 5: a small market team who continues to win games and
- 15:10Speaker 5: put yourselves in a position to be successful, why wouldn't
- 15:13Speaker 5: you say screw it with the prospects, trade them to
- 15:17Speaker 5: go get this guy for two months? This is your shots.
- 15:20Speaker 5: It can be the difference between winning a World Series
- 15:22Speaker 5: and never winning a World Series. Like that franchise is done.
- 15:25Speaker 5: Same thing with the Rays, Like, you're not gonna be
- 15:27Speaker 5: able to afford school Ball, but you can pay the
- 15:29Speaker 5: prospects to get him for two months, and it might
- 15:31Speaker 5: be the difference of pushing you over the humps. So
- 15:33Speaker 5: even the small market teams, we can excuse them from
- 15:35Speaker 5: spending four hundred million dollar contracts, they should not be
- 15:38Speaker 5: excused at the trade deadline when they could have the
- 15:41Speaker 5: best pitcher in baseball for prospects and they're reluctant to do.
- 15:44Speaker 1: I think the obvious concern, though, if you're the Brewers,
- 15:46Speaker 1: is we get school Ball, We get him for two months.
- 15:48Speaker 1: We may or may not win the World Series. Either way,
- 15:51Speaker 1: he's headed to LA Like, that's that's the price. He's
- 15:54Speaker 1: going to be a Dodger eventually, you know.
- 15:56Speaker 5: But but wouldn't you want them to take a shot
- 15:58Speaker 5: out of course we all know that. Of course we
- 16:00Speaker 5: know they're not gonna say yeah, we know they're not
- 16:02Speaker 5: gonna keep them. They have no chance to keep them,
- 16:03Speaker 5: but might like they might lose the World Series.
- 16:06Speaker 6: Sure, odd so they probably.
- 16:07Speaker 5: Won't win the World Series, but they might And if
- 16:08Speaker 5: they did, then does anybody care? I mean, the Brewers
- 16:11Speaker 5: years ago did it? That is, going back almost twenty
- 16:13Speaker 5: years ago, what's he see Sabathia getting him from the
- 16:15Speaker 5: event Indians at the deadline. But like at some point
- 16:18Speaker 5: some of those small market teams otherwise in the sport
- 16:21Speaker 5: has a way bigger problem. Like I can't understand that
- 16:24Speaker 5: because I'm in New York and we're rooting for the
- 16:26Speaker 5: Mets and Yankees to go all in.
- 16:27Speaker 4: I don't.
- 16:28Speaker 5: I can't even imagine what it would be like rooting
- 16:30Speaker 5: for a smaller market team that just has no shot
- 16:32Speaker 5: from the get go to get any of these big
- 16:34Speaker 5: time players.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Well, I think the people who run the Brewers would
- 16:36Speaker 1: tell you, hey, we have a shot at winning the
- 16:38Speaker 1: World Series.
- 16:38Speaker 2: We'll see what happens.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Baseball is a funny sport, you know, But there's only
- 16:41Speaker 1: so long a fan base wants to hear that, you know.
- 16:44Speaker 5: Which which is fair. But then they've also got to
- 16:46Speaker 5: be able to be in the mix when the.
- 16:47Speaker 4: Opportunity is there.
- 16:49Speaker 5: Yes, we can't, we can't expect it in free agency,
- 16:51Speaker 5: certainly not all the time, but when you have an
- 16:53Speaker 5: opportunity to get a guy who you're never gonna be
- 16:56Speaker 5: able to afford otherwise, go get him at the deadline
- 16:58Speaker 5: and go go take your real shot and knocking off
- 17:01Speaker 5: the Dodger.
- 17:01Speaker 1: You're in one of the markets where baseball still matters.
- 17:04Speaker 1: So how do you treat today? It's today like a
- 17:06Speaker 1: big day for you. Are you on the phone NonStop?
- 17:08Speaker 1: What is going on with you?
- 17:09Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 17:09Speaker 5: I'm honestly Stu all weekend long. It's been huge, you know,
- 17:13Speaker 5: starting up YouTube channel, like, it's been huge to go
- 17:16Speaker 5: live when these things happen. So Friday night, uh, no,
- 17:20Speaker 5: Friday night, Saturday night when school boll got traded. Then
- 17:23Speaker 5: yesterday all day I'm coming out of the pool to
- 17:25Speaker 5: go talk about Parolta breaking news. So yeah, the baseball
- 17:29Speaker 5: in New York is king, whether it's the Mets being sellers,
- 17:32Speaker 5: whether it's the Yankees being buyers.
- 17:34Speaker 2: It is.
- 17:34Speaker 5: Even the Knicks run was great, and everybody's gonna be
- 17:37Speaker 5: excited for the NFL because the NFL, of role is king.
- 17:39Speaker 6: But people in.
- 17:40Speaker 5: New York are absolutely obsessed with their baseball teams and
- 17:44Speaker 5: the moves around Major League based.
- 17:45Speaker 1: How furious is the wife when you jump out of
- 17:47Speaker 1: the pool, you're spending some family time. It's a weekend,
- 17:50Speaker 1: and Freddie Peralta is traded, and you feel the need
- 17:53Speaker 1: to go to YouTube, to your YouTube page, you go
- 17:55Speaker 1: live for something you didn't need to go live for,
- 17:59Speaker 1: which now it don't on me.
- 18:00Speaker 2: What an excuse to get out of stuff? Hey YouTube,
- 18:03Speaker 2: vee gotta go there.
- 18:04Speaker 4: Yep.
- 18:06Speaker 5: I sucked it up Saturday night and went to a
- 18:09Speaker 5: Sweet sixteen for her family that didn't want to be at. Luckily,
- 18:11Speaker 5: no trade broke that night, and then once we got
- 18:15Speaker 5: we got home late, and then it was a schoobol thing.
- 18:17Speaker 5: So I was able to do that. But all weekend long,
- 18:19Speaker 5: I'm on the phone and we just had to deal.
- 18:20Speaker 5: My wife and I she's like, you told me, okay,
- 18:22Speaker 5: during the week you're working fine. On the weekend, that's
- 18:24Speaker 5: our time. And then she sees me on the phone
- 18:27Speaker 5: all weekend long and she's like, I thought we had
- 18:29Speaker 5: we already discussed this, and she didn't say it as
- 18:30Speaker 5: nicely as I'm saying it right now, of course, And
- 18:32Speaker 5: I'm like, it's trade deadline week, Like, I don't know
- 18:35Speaker 5: what you want to do. It's it's the trade deadline's Monday.
- 18:37Speaker 5: I gotta I gotta do this stuff. So yeah, I was.
- 18:39Speaker 5: It was I was on daddy duty. In the pool
- 18:40Speaker 5: with my daughter. The Yankees game ends, they get Louis
- 18:43Speaker 5: Garcia Junior at boom. I'm like, I'm sorry, I gotta go.
- 18:46Speaker 6: You take over.
- 18:46Speaker 5: I gotta go do the show here and talk Louis
- 18:49Speaker 5: Carcia Junior.
- 18:49Speaker 1: All right, So you didn't leave the kid alone in
- 18:51Speaker 1: the pool, that's no.
- 18:54Speaker 5: I made sure my wife. I tagged her in. I
- 18:56Speaker 5: made sure that she was there watching. But I mean
- 18:58Speaker 5: I was about to Saemmy put the best. Daddy's gotta
- 19:00Speaker 5: go do.
- 19:01Speaker 6: Some more here.
- 19:01Speaker 5: I mean, make sure you make sure you remember when
- 19:03Speaker 5: kick those feet, move those arms. I gotta go do
- 19:05Speaker 5: a podcast, Taylor.
- 19:06Speaker 1: If I ever text you and tell you we need
- 19:08Speaker 1: to go live on YouTube because Freddy Peralta was traded.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Just get a gun.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Okay, seriously, But Joe Flacco, well, yes I went home
- 19:19Speaker 1: for that.
- 19:20Speaker 2: I turned around and I went home for that.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Yes, it's the NFL, man, baseball doesn't matter here, But
- 19:27Speaker 1: I'm not certain why I felt the need to go
- 19:29Speaker 1: home for Cincinnati's new quarterback, Joe Flaka. So, so your
- 19:45Speaker 1: wife does she ever like wonder man? Is there ever
- 19:48Speaker 1: like a week where there's just nothing going on?
- 19:50Speaker 2: Like? Can I get a week. Can I get a week?
- 19:53Speaker 6: I think we'll have some time in August.
- 19:55Speaker 5: But yeah, I mean preseason, which calendar?
- 19:57Speaker 4: This sports I know thing.
- 20:00Speaker 5: No, I'll pick my spots when September comes, that's it.
- 20:02Speaker 5: I mean, I'm going to be walked in on the
- 20:04Speaker 5: postseason baseball obviously, all the NFL and stuff. Yeah, the
- 20:07Speaker 5: sports calendar doesn't stop. It's why we love it. It's beautiful.
- 20:11Speaker 5: But I'm still learning. Even being married for geez, almost
- 20:14Speaker 5: ten years now, I'm still learning the balance, especially now
- 20:17Speaker 5: starting my own thing. Like it's not just like, oh yeah,
- 20:19Speaker 5: kick back and relax and go do radio on Monday. No,
- 20:22Speaker 5: it's a different animal.
- 20:23Speaker 2: Now.
- 20:23Speaker 5: You want to be in the game here. You gotta work.
- 20:25Speaker 1: So she preferred when you had to shift right where
- 20:28Speaker 1: it was like, hey, I have to be on from
- 20:29Speaker 1: ten to two and then I turn it off, right
- 20:31Speaker 1: you preferred that, Yes, of course.
- 20:33Speaker 5: Probably, I don't even know. I don't know which I think.
- 20:36Speaker 5: I kind of like this schedule better, even though it
- 20:38Speaker 5: is could be crazy and this, yeah, is it great?
- 20:41Speaker 6: Being on call?
- 20:42Speaker 5: I told her, I'm like, I'm on standby. I'm like,
- 20:43Speaker 5: you know, you have a plenty of doctor friends, like
- 20:45Speaker 5: I'm on call this weekend. Let me alone with the
- 20:47Speaker 5: trade deadline stuff.
- 20:48Speaker 1: But I'm learning, so if the Yankees make another move,
- 20:51Speaker 1: it's YouTube live right today, I'm saying.
- 20:53Speaker 5: Oh know, dude, Yeah, I mean, now, I got the
- 20:56Speaker 5: TV show I got to do, so I'll be out
- 20:57Speaker 5: of the house soon, so I wouldn't impact my wife
- 21:00Speaker 5: if they make a trade from when we're recording this
- 21:02Speaker 5: prior to when I leave my house for my actual.
- 21:04Speaker 6: Job, right then I'll be able to go live.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Does she feel like the trade deadline is an acceptable
- 21:10Speaker 1: reason for you to be this consumed?
- 21:12Speaker 2: Does she feel like that she?
- 21:14Speaker 5: I don't think she understands the magnitude I was trying.
- 21:19Speaker 5: I was trying to explain to her about Louis Carci.
- 21:21Speaker 2: She right, Yeah, she doesn't want to hear about it.
- 21:26Speaker 5: Well, what positions are you gonna play? I'm like, I
- 21:28Speaker 5: don't know, and then she thinks I'm making it up.
- 21:30Speaker 5: You don't even know what position?
- 21:31Speaker 4: You know? Don't you do this?
- 21:32Speaker 5: Aren't you a sports talk guy for a living? Well?
- 21:34Speaker 2: You know get that all the time.
- 21:35Speaker 3: Did I hear right? Or did sal compare himself to
- 21:38Speaker 3: a doctor? If Ryan Jeffers got traded to the Yankees.
- 21:41Speaker 5: I mean, we're all call this weekend a little sports surgery.
- 21:46Speaker 5: You gotta carve up the Yanks.
- 21:48Speaker 2: Yes, do you have a pager?
- 21:49Speaker 8: I mean, oh my god, your poor wife, oh man
- 21:58Speaker 8: alata to the recording room, please, salakatak glue to the reporter.
- 22:02Speaker 2: Right, he created himself, and it's always just when he
- 22:04Speaker 2: needs it.
- 22:04Speaker 1: Right, he can just hit a button whenever he needs
- 22:07Speaker 1: it to get him out of going to Sweet sixteens.
- 22:11Speaker 5: Right in the middle of the House of Dragons, the
- 22:12Speaker 5: one show we watch and bond together. O, I'm like,
- 22:14Speaker 5: I'm sorry, I gotta go up stairs. It'll be ten minutes,
- 22:16Speaker 5: forty five minutes later. I come down, she's sleeping. There's
- 22:19Speaker 5: crumbs all over the place, and that's it. The night's over.
- 22:21Speaker 5: But at least I got my sports taken immediately.
- 22:24Speaker 2: Yes, Sally, I love the topic. We do one table
- 22:26Speaker 2: around here.
- 22:27Speaker 1: I'm tempted based on the notes I got things you
- 22:30Speaker 1: wanted to discuss before we started here. I'm debating one
- 22:34Speaker 1: movie you go to a theater, you can only see
- 22:36Speaker 1: one movie. Uh so I will start with Odyssey or
- 22:39Speaker 1: Spider Man. One movie to go see you can only
- 22:42Speaker 1: see one, which one you go in the see.
- 22:44Speaker 5: I have this dilemma. Tomorrow. My daughter's gonna be at school.
- 22:48Speaker 5: It's the one time my wife and I could go together.
- 22:50Speaker 5: And I chose Odyssey mainly because my wife wanted to
- 22:54Speaker 5: see that, and because like people can't stuff ooh the
- 22:58Speaker 5: Odyssey like they've never seen a good movie. Oh, Like
- 23:01Speaker 5: I really don't want to see it, but because it's
- 23:03Speaker 5: been critically acclaimed by everybody. All right, let's go see
- 23:06Speaker 5: what this stupid thing is about. I'd much rather probably
- 23:09Speaker 5: watch Spider Man. Like, but I want to leave my
- 23:10Speaker 5: wife and I'll just go see that on my own.
- 23:12Speaker 5: So I'll go see Odyssey with her, and then i'd
- 23:14Speaker 5: rather go see Spider Man. But I gotta get this
- 23:16Speaker 5: out of the way. So to answer this question, Odyssey
- 23:18Speaker 5: tomorrow eight fifteen in the morning.
- 23:20Speaker 1: All right, is there any chance the pager goes off
- 23:22Speaker 1: at eight twenty in the morning.
- 23:24Speaker 6: I mean, I plan accordingly.
- 23:27Speaker 5: I'll do the podcast and I wrap it up after
- 23:29Speaker 5: the trade that line. Put that thing on oral pilot
- 23:32Speaker 5: tomorrow morning.
- 23:32Speaker 6: And go watch the Odyssey for three hours.
- 23:34Speaker 1: I know, but I'm trying to get you out of
- 23:35Speaker 1: the three hour Odyssey by just having the pager go
- 23:37Speaker 1: off for nothing.
- 23:38Speaker 2: I mean, just I know this.
- 23:40Speaker 5: I probably don't even want to see this, Honestly, I
- 23:42Speaker 5: doubt I'm gonna like it. I'm like, what is this
- 23:44Speaker 5: even about the Odyssey Old of Fuss?
- 23:46Speaker 3: I mean, my god, what kind of theater are you
- 23:48Speaker 3: going to see it in? Because apparently that really matters?
- 23:51Speaker 5: Yeah, well standard, my wife's got some issue where she
- 23:54Speaker 5: can't she gets a headache, I know, And they did,
- 23:56Speaker 5: like she doesn't like the three D glasses gives her
- 23:58Speaker 5: a headache or the IMAX, So it's gonna be and
- 24:00Speaker 5: they didn't have that available at eight fifteen in the morning.
- 24:02Speaker 6: It's only standards.
- 24:03Speaker 1: So Taylor put it on the pole. Do you want
- 24:05Speaker 1: to see a movie at eight fifteen in the morning?
- 24:06Speaker 1: It sounds like the worst possible thing to do. Put
- 24:09Speaker 1: this on the poll as well. Do they serve candy
- 24:11Speaker 1: at eight fifteen in the morning at the movie theater? Like,
- 24:14Speaker 1: what are you thinking of? Are you going with a
- 24:15Speaker 1: top of popcorn at eight thirty?
- 24:16Speaker 2: What are you doing?
- 24:17Speaker 5: I usually have a hard time going to a theater
- 24:19Speaker 5: and not getting popcorn. I mean, that's the best part
- 24:22Speaker 5: of going to the movie theater. And I thought about
- 24:24Speaker 5: this as I purchased the tickets. I'm like, man, did
- 24:25Speaker 5: they even sell popcorn at eight fifteen in the morning.
- 24:28Speaker 5: They probably do. I don't know if I want to
- 24:30Speaker 5: eat it, but whatever, we'll figure it out tomorrow.
- 24:32Speaker 3: So so I've seen both these movies and if it
- 24:35Speaker 3: was me Pold, yes, if it was up to me, yeah,
- 24:38Speaker 3: single life, shout.
- 24:39Speaker 2: I don't have a kid, single life, single lives?
- 24:41Speaker 5: What happened? What do you mean single life?
- 24:42Speaker 3: You're no, I don't have kids, That's what they.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Mean, and you do, which is why you thought you
- 24:46Speaker 2: like Bruce Springsteen.
- 24:48Speaker 3: Not married, no kids. I've pretty much free reign to
- 24:53Speaker 3: do whatever I want.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Uh.
- 24:54Speaker 3: Spider Man. Spider Man was was the better movie in
- 24:57Speaker 3: my opinion. The problem that I'm running into its sp Man.
- 25:01Speaker 3: I'm a Spider Man fan, like he's my guy. In
- 25:04Speaker 3: terms of superhero I'm not particularly a Marvel fan, and
- 25:07Speaker 3: it's almost like being a Yankee fan, where I watch
- 25:10Speaker 3: every Yankee game, but I don't need to know the
- 25:12Speaker 3: day to day operations of the Colorado Rockies. The Marvel
- 25:15Speaker 3: cinematic universe is so out of control that they expect
- 25:19Speaker 3: me to know every team, and I just don't have
- 25:22Speaker 3: time for that where you're telling me you have to
- 25:24Speaker 3: watch ten movies and ten shows to get caught up
- 25:27Speaker 3: with what's happened in the Spider Man. I mean, what
- 25:29Speaker 3: happened to the good old Days? Where all I had
- 25:30Speaker 3: to watch was the previous movie.
- 25:33Speaker 5: It did get out of control with the Avengers and
- 25:35Speaker 5: all that stuff. I like it.
- 25:36Speaker 6: I just like Spider Man.
- 25:37Speaker 5: If I'm gonna watch Superman, let me watch Superman, gonna
- 25:39Speaker 5: watch Batman. I'm gonna watch Batman, Spider Man, same thing.
- 25:42Speaker 5: I don't need these universes coming together, but I do
- 25:44Speaker 5: want to see.
- 25:45Speaker 1: That movie Mikey one movie Godfather Goodfellas?
- 25:49Speaker 2: Which one you're see in.
- 25:51Speaker 4: Great question? Man, I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go Goodfellas.
- 25:55Speaker 2: All right, saying sal.
- 25:57Speaker 6: I would go Godfather in that scenario.
- 25:59Speaker 5: I think Goodfellas is a rated Godfather too.
- 26:01Speaker 4: I would have picked like the Beatles.
- 26:03Speaker 2: I mean, jeez, I liked it, but.
- 26:05Speaker 5: I think Godfather Part one God.
- 26:08Speaker 2: I love that movie, Taylor.
- 26:10Speaker 4: It's fantastic. It's just a little more rewatchable. I think
- 26:13Speaker 4: it's good.
- 26:14Speaker 3: I go Goodfellas too, I had to say it. I
- 26:15Speaker 3: haven't seen either, have you heard of either. Yes, I've
- 26:18Speaker 3: heard of I've heard of both, but I haven't seen.
- 26:20Speaker 5: You haven't seen either.
- 26:22Speaker 4: Come on, dude.
- 26:24Speaker 3: My Italian card might get revoked.
- 26:27Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, weren't you rooting for Team Italy in
- 26:29Speaker 5: the World Baseball Classic. You haven't seen Godfather or Goodfellas,
- 26:34Speaker 5: Good Good.
- 26:36Speaker 2: He's outraged, Mikey, Rocky or First Blood? One movie? What
- 26:41Speaker 2: are you saying? Rocky out of ten out of ten?
- 26:45Speaker 5: Wow, sal it's a blowout for me too. I have
- 26:48Speaker 5: not seen those First Blood, but it's going to be
- 26:50Speaker 5: Rocky regard.
- 26:50Speaker 2: First Blood is fantastic. Uh, Taylor, I've only seen Rocky.
- 26:54Speaker 2: Jesus Christ, go see some movies. I mean, what is
- 26:57Speaker 2: the matter with you?
- 27:01Speaker 3: On the topic of Spider Man and I have this
- 27:04Speaker 3: und saved because we're all Mike Francesa guys here, a caller,
- 27:10Speaker 3: what you heard?
- 27:11Speaker 2: It's out? You've heard what he's about to play?
- 27:12Speaker 5: Here?
- 27:13Speaker 6: I think I know where he's going with stan Lee.
- 27:15Speaker 3: Yeah, so stude, do you know who stan Lee is?
- 27:18Speaker 3: Stan Lee is the creator of Spider Man, and he
- 27:24Speaker 3: unfortunately passed away, but he was old He passed away
- 27:27Speaker 3: of old age. And a caller calls into Mike's show
- 27:30Speaker 3: and wants to get Mike's thoughts on stan Lee passing away,
- 27:34Speaker 3: and that's how we got this sound.
- 27:36Speaker 2: Eddie and Hoboken.
- 27:37Speaker 5: What's up, Eddie?
- 27:38Speaker 3: Hey, what's up?
- 27:39Speaker 1: Mike's Mike stan Lee by today?
- 27:42Speaker 3: Did you ever meet the guy?
- 27:43Speaker 2: What do you think of him?
- 27:44Speaker 5: Stan Lee? Yes, stan Lee?
- 27:47Speaker 2: I don't know who he is.
- 27:48Speaker 6: I don't know who he is.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Though, Jesus, who is he? Who is he? Who is
- 27:55Speaker 2: stan Lee?
- 27:57Speaker 4: He was one of the creators of Marvel Comics.
- 27:58Speaker 2: Oh, who cares? I don't blame him.
- 28:11Speaker 6: I mean, that was a long time ago, but that
- 28:13Speaker 6: is clo can.
- 28:16Speaker 2: What are the creators of marks?
- 28:20Speaker 4: Next?
- 28:21Speaker 2: He didn't create baseball. It doesn't matter.
- 28:25Speaker 5: Breaking down the message Yankees bullpen when we come back
- 28:27Speaker 5: back after this. But the problem is the coaler clearly
- 28:31Speaker 5: was a plant like he knew. You could have Mike
- 28:33Speaker 5: simply asked who is he? He could have explained it.
- 28:36Speaker 6: He didn't want to do it.
- 28:37Speaker 5: Oh geez, come on, Mike, these coalers.
- 28:39Speaker 6: I'm with Mike on this one.
- 28:42Speaker 2: What are your issues?
- 28:43Speaker 1: By the way, we haven't spoken to you since Lebron's
- 28:45Speaker 1: signed with Philadelphia. I'll get to Halliburton in a second. Uh,
- 28:48Speaker 1: what'd you make of that Lebron going to the Sixers?
- 28:50Speaker 1: I could not believe the Celtics created a roster uh
- 28:53Speaker 1: for Philadelphia that made it so attractive that Lebron decided, Hey,
- 28:57Speaker 1: I'll finish my career in Philadelphia.
- 29:00Speaker 6: Yeah, I heard you guys talking about it. I thought
- 29:01Speaker 6: it was a great take.
- 29:02Speaker 5: With the Celtics being the biggest losers of this whole thing,
- 29:05Speaker 5: it's interesting. And tell her, I feel like we might
- 29:06Speaker 5: have talked about this either the last time we were
- 29:08Speaker 5: on this pod or maybe when you were on my pot.
- 29:10Speaker 6: Whatever.
- 29:10Speaker 5: The fact that the Knicks are in a position to
- 29:13Speaker 5: turn down Lebron James is wild. I love it, yes, yeah,
- 29:17Speaker 5: but is it going to be in the end the
- 29:20Speaker 5: right move, Like they could have had him and maybe
- 29:23Speaker 5: changed things up to go win a second championship here.
- 29:25Speaker 5: I love that they didn't bring him in. It would
- 29:28Speaker 5: have taken away from the Knicks celebrating this year and
- 29:30Speaker 5: Jalen Brunson. But basketball wise, there is an argument to
- 29:34Speaker 5: be made that maybe they would have been better off
- 29:35Speaker 5: adding him. I'm not afraid of the Sixers though, Like
- 29:37Speaker 5: what could go wrong for the Sixers? They think that
- 29:39Speaker 5: they do what the Knicks used to do, Chase the Star.
- 29:41Speaker 5: Everybody else is doing the same thing. Go chase the star,
- 29:43Speaker 5: an aging star who's on the decline, who, by the way,
- 29:47Speaker 5: I think, chose the most difficult path yecause this is
- 29:50Speaker 5: probably gonna be the first time that he ever plays
- 29:52Speaker 5: for a team that has a fan base root or
- 29:55Speaker 5: not root against it, but boo him. Well, he's actively
- 29:58Speaker 5: a member of that team. Yes, that didn't happen anywhere else.
- 30:01Speaker 5: So in Philadelphia they're gonna boo him if he doesn't deliver.
- 30:04Speaker 5: And I don't think that they're going to deliver the
- 30:06Speaker 5: ultimate goal, which is winning a championship, because of Joel
- 30:09Speaker 5: Embiid's health. But I think it's a great storyline for
- 30:11Speaker 5: the NBA that he's coming to the Northeast.
- 30:13Speaker 6: I can't wait to watch this NBA season.
- 30:15Speaker 1: You're mad at Halliburton for he had a corny wedding.
- 30:18Speaker 1: He was dancing and he was saying he runs New York.
- 30:20Speaker 1: You're mad at him for that.
- 30:22Speaker 5: Yeah, Well, Taylor, I knows the big fifty cent guy.
- 30:24Speaker 5: Now we've learned that he was singing. Halliburton became friends
- 30:28Speaker 5: with fifty cent, I guess and he had fifty cent
- 30:30Speaker 5: perform at his wedding the song I Get Money, which
- 30:33Speaker 5: features lyrics in it I Run New York And in
- 30:35Speaker 5: the video you could see Halliburton on stage I run
- 30:39Speaker 5: New York, like really emphasizing those words, like he runs
- 30:43Speaker 5: New York because when we last saw him on the court,
- 30:46Speaker 5: he did beat the Knicks, right, his pacers beat the Knicks.
- 30:48Speaker 5: But I mean, make no mistake, that is corny as
- 30:50Speaker 5: can be. Right now, there's one guy that runs New
- 30:53Speaker 5: York and that's Jalen Brunson. He wears the crown. So
- 30:56Speaker 5: Halliburton needs to shut his trap, get back on the floor,
- 30:59Speaker 5: and then go try to beat the world champion Nick.
- 31:02Speaker 6: So yeah, I had a problem with that.
- 31:03Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, The Knicks title invalidated the opinions of Haliburton
- 31:07Speaker 3: and Trey Young. Trey Young is also guilty in this
- 31:10Speaker 3: camp of Trey Young will live off that that beating
- 31:13Speaker 3: the Knicks and doing the dice at mid court for
- 31:16Speaker 3: the rest of his life, like he'll be he'll be
- 31:17Speaker 3: signing autographs of that picture for the rest of his life,
- 31:21Speaker 3: like he's Reggie Miller doing the chokes on Yes kid,
- 31:24Speaker 3: give me a.
- 31:24Speaker 1: Breakwait, he's not done though I thought Reggie's I thought
- 31:26Speaker 1: it was done with Reggie Miller, and they can't do
- 31:28Speaker 1: that anymore.
- 31:28Speaker 2: What are we doing?
- 31:29Speaker 3: Yes, but Reggie Miller doesn't get that it's done, like
- 31:32Speaker 3: Trey Young doesn't get that it's done. Tyres Haliburton doesn't
- 31:35Speaker 3: get that it's done. We won the title, we have
- 31:38Speaker 3: the upper hand.
- 31:39Speaker 5: Right, it's over, period, end of story. I got people
- 31:42Speaker 5: in my comments still look oh like Sixers fans, Oh, Lebron,
- 31:46Speaker 5: you're just scared of the scared of the Sixers, bro.
- 31:49Speaker 5: The Knicks won the championship. I really don't care what
- 31:51Speaker 5: happens this year.
- 31:52Speaker 4: We already won.
- 31:53Speaker 5: Good luck getting to pass the semis, the semi six ers,
- 31:56Speaker 5: good luck getting past the semi finals. What you never do,
- 31:59Speaker 5: samee pages. Oh yeah, it's nice that Halliburton's coming back.
- 32:02Speaker 5: Good luck winning an NBA championship, which you've never done before.
- 32:05Speaker 5: Like it's you can't right now. But one thing that's definitive.
- 32:09Speaker 5: No other fan base period can talk trash to the.
- 32:12Speaker 6: New York Knicks fan base. It's over.
- 32:14Speaker 5: And that goes for the players as well.
- 32:16Speaker 1: Right, the guy play, the guy who owns New York
- 32:19Speaker 1: is the guy who could say, hey, we don't want
