- 0:00Speaker 1: Coming up on Relatables.
- 0:01Speaker 2: Just do things and do it like with purpose. I
- 0:05Speaker 2: don't know permission. I don't need permission to do stuff
- 0:08Speaker 2: with your from us not.
- 0:12Speaker 1: We really.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Relatable The Relatables podcast by myself Jake Craig aka Daddy
- 0:28Speaker 2: and my partner in crime mister Aldie Clark aka Mummy.
- 0:32Speaker 1: And you sound sexy?
- 0:34Speaker 2: Yeah, bro, I'm fucking sorry. I hope I don't get
- 0:37Speaker 2: you sick.
- 0:37Speaker 1: I hope not. Please please please, please, please please.
- 0:40Speaker 2: We've kept it pretty PG. We haven't kissed off. I
- 0:43Speaker 2: also have to say I have like do you ever
- 0:47Speaker 2: do you ever know when you can't trust a fart?
- 0:51Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, but then like it's kind of almost too
- 0:54Speaker 1: late when you know yes and no, there's I would say,
- 0:58Speaker 1: there's a how many times if you shouted by it
- 1:00Speaker 1: being too late? Like they're the only times I've ever shouted,
- 1:03Speaker 1: like twice, but like I know, pribe. But then also
- 1:07Speaker 1: like you kind of know after it's already happened.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, fair, I kind of know.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Why are you feeling like you got a shot? This
- 1:15Speaker 1: thing could be bad?
- 1:16Speaker 2: I just know my body and I know that right
- 1:18Speaker 2: now I shouldn't trust any farts, do you ever do
- 1:22Speaker 2: you ever like go to do a fart and think, oh,
- 1:24Speaker 2: that could be a ship, and then you have to
- 1:25Speaker 2: kind of like very technically let the right amount of
- 1:27Speaker 2: pressure out for it to just say, I didn't think
- 1:30Speaker 2: that was a universal experience.
- 1:32Speaker 1: The technical procedure that one. I normally have the opposite though,
- 1:35Speaker 1: Like sometimes I like I thought you were going to
- 1:38Speaker 1: disagree with me. Yeah, I think that was a universal Sometimes.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Recently though, I can as we're getting older, I reckon,
- 1:45Speaker 1: like our bodily functions are getting worse.
- 1:49Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, it's like we're starting to decompose.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Legit, we've reached out. We've had twenty U twenty six,
- 1:55Speaker 1: twenty five years on this earth. Yeah, and now our
- 1:57Speaker 1: body is like trying to like figure it out out.
- 2:00Speaker 1: But like it's kind of like had its heyday and
- 2:02Speaker 1: now it's going downhill. Sometimes I have do you ever
- 2:06Speaker 1: have like you're thinking ship and then it's just a
- 2:09Speaker 1: fart and you go the toil anyway, like because it's
- 2:12Speaker 1: better to be safe than sorry.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know me.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Yeah that it feels like a wasted trip.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Also, No, it's never a wasted trip for me, man,
- 2:19Speaker 2: I'm just there. I reckon something. My find this is
- 2:23Speaker 2: the weirdest thing to have, like to think that feels
- 2:25Speaker 2: really good. Right, So when you have in one of
- 2:28Speaker 2: those days where you know you can't trust a fart
- 2:30Speaker 2: because you're gonna spray everywhere in your unders, right when
- 2:33Speaker 2: you do get home and you do go like, I'm
- 2:36Speaker 2: just gonna go sit on the toilet and rip a far.
- 2:38Speaker 2: You don't have to prove you just a far, and
- 2:40Speaker 2: it's just this is the greatest conversation and it's just
- 2:43Speaker 2: the grossest thing.
- 2:44Speaker 1: But you're like, oh, that felt.
- 2:45Speaker 2: So good to let that all the way out, And
- 2:47Speaker 2: I just think, like, how does it come to this?
- 2:50Speaker 1: How does it come to this? But also why are
- 2:53Speaker 1: like fart's shameful?
- 2:55Speaker 2: I think it's the funniest thing on the planet.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Because like everyone doesn't and it's like a natural thing,
- 3:00Speaker 1: and it's also a body like getting rid of gases.
- 3:03Speaker 1: It uncomfortable.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I think it's a good thing.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Yeah, it is a good thing. It says something about
- 3:07Speaker 1: your diet. But also like everyone does it. But then
- 3:09Speaker 1: for some reason I understand like if it's a random
- 3:11Speaker 1: and disgusting but like in your own home, yeah, I
- 3:13Speaker 1: feel like, yeah, you did yesterday thirty.
- 3:17Speaker 2: It was Henry.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Jack was like, it's my dog, and it was.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Like my on a couple of weeks ago, or like
- 3:27Speaker 2: what's the day, ye like a week and a half ago.
- 3:29Speaker 2: I went out for dinner with my parents and my
- 3:32Speaker 2: two siblings. It was my younger sister's birthday, and we
- 3:36Speaker 2: after dinner, we went and walked to Yochi and then
- 3:38Speaker 2: we sat out front and it was a pretty quiet night,
- 3:42Speaker 2: so there was a bench and then like a couple
- 3:46Speaker 2: of us sat there, and then my dad and I
- 3:47Speaker 2: we sat on the other side of like the sidewalk.
- 3:50Speaker 2: So we were like talking along through the sidewalk, and
- 3:52Speaker 2: we thought, like, no one's walking past, it doesn't really matter.
- 3:55Speaker 2: But these two dudes walk past, right, And initially we
- 3:59Speaker 2: didn't know it was too And it was just one dude, right,
- 4:02Speaker 2: middle aged, kind of looks a little drunk, and he's
- 4:04Speaker 2: walking past, and he's kind of walking and he's like
- 4:07Speaker 2: holding his butt really and he's walking and he's like walking,
- 4:10Speaker 2: and then as he walks past us, just the loudest
- 4:14Speaker 2: farts right and like full on shitting his pants, and
- 4:17Speaker 2: we all we were mid conversation, this man walks past
- 4:21Speaker 2: shits his pants and then we're all looking at each other,
- 4:24Speaker 2: like me and my dad lock eyes. But none of
- 4:28Speaker 2: us laughed, and none of usaid anything because we were
- 4:30Speaker 2: so shocked. And I was thinking, there's no way that
- 4:33Speaker 2: I just we just experienced that, and I felt terrible
- 4:35Speaker 2: for this guy that he was literally pulling his pants
- 4:37Speaker 2: in front of us. And then like a minute later,
- 4:40Speaker 2: his friend comes by laughing and he's kind of said.
- 4:44Speaker 2: He looks over at Kate, my stepmom, and he says like, oh,
- 4:46Speaker 2: you know, it's just the drink or whatever. But then
- 4:49Speaker 2: I saw them do it. I think one of them
- 4:51Speaker 2: has a speaker and one of them has the sound.
- 4:53Speaker 2: And then they did it to another group of people
- 4:55Speaker 2: at a restaurant, and I was like, Oh, they're fucking
- 4:58Speaker 2: branke at us pranks to that makes it less funny,
- 5:02Speaker 2: it does. I wish it was real. I wish it
- 5:03Speaker 2: was real. Well, and I was gonna say, here, he's
- 5:05Speaker 2: my number. I got a podcast. We do a confession session.
- 5:09Speaker 1: It's been a minute since we've done a confession session,
- 5:12Speaker 1: but baddies, welcome back to the Relatables podcast. Yeah, where
- 5:15Speaker 1: we talk about when you got to go, you got
- 5:17Speaker 1: to go farting love relationships men.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Yeah anything, yeah, and fuck those and spied employed guys,
- 5:25Speaker 2: unemployed guys.
- 5:28Speaker 1: They just started a point. I feel like they can.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Bring their pod back and take all the fucking real estate.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Yeah, the Australian real estate. Look, they probably will.
- 5:40Speaker 2: A good argument for them would be, like, you guys
- 5:41Speaker 2: should have capitalized while we were gone.
- 5:46Speaker 1: That's a very good point.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Everybody already comment on this spine on employers episodes, Get
- 5:50Speaker 2: the relatables.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Get the relatables one. We're trying, actually, baddies, we should
- 5:55Speaker 1: try really hard actually because I'm a big fan boy
- 5:57Speaker 1: of them too.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Just get them on the our podcast.
- 6:00Speaker 1: How can it be a funny little duo as well?
- 6:03Speaker 1: We could do something because I used to listen to everything.
- 6:04Speaker 1: I've listened to every single one of the episodes. Mad
- 6:06Speaker 1: awkward yeah yeah, same as us? Yeah? Can they're more
- 6:09Speaker 1: awkward than us?
- 6:10Speaker 2: That's so. Yeah.
- 6:11Speaker 1: It would be like because their chemistry is insane. Our
- 6:13Speaker 1: chemistry is insane, but together with four of us, it
- 6:15Speaker 1: would be just awkward.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Yeah, trying to force trying to force chemistry and new people.
- 6:20Speaker 1: The guy as well, we don't have guests on this podcast.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Is that I want to say, I'm not gonna lie.
- 6:28Speaker 2: They make me jealous, they make you jealous.
- 6:30Speaker 1: It's jealousy a good thing to have though, could be
- 6:33Speaker 1: a driver, a driver, or I could use it. Yeah,
- 6:37Speaker 1: work harder.
- 6:38Speaker 2: It's just like, it's so we were just sitting here before,
- 6:41Speaker 2: and obviously we're fans of them. I think they're hilarious.
- 6:45Speaker 2: They're so they are, They're very funny, they're good at
- 6:47Speaker 2: what they do. But thinking it's just greedy, you know,
- 6:53Speaker 2: it's just greedy.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Think to what you know.
- 6:55Speaker 2: You guys are just fine. This is all we have,
- 7:00Speaker 2: It is all we have.
- 7:03Speaker 1: We do you reckon? Actually that's a good point, do
- 7:05Speaker 1: you reckon? It's healthy to have a little bit jealousy
- 7:07Speaker 1: in a relationship.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Always in like boyfriend and girlfriend, Yeah, like a romantic Is.
- 7:12Speaker 1: There any type of healthy jealousy?
- 7:15Speaker 2: Good question. I don't know. Maybe you can argue.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Both ways, because it's nice as the counterpart to feel wanted,
- 7:21Speaker 1: But then also it's kind of like you should feel
- 7:24Speaker 1: safe and secure in your relationship and not have that emotion.
- 7:28Speaker 2: It's like, I'm jealous, but I trust you. Yeah, maybe
- 7:31Speaker 2: jealousy with trust can they go hand in hand?
- 7:33Speaker 1: Because I can admit I don't feel jealous ever in
- 7:36Speaker 1: my relationship.
- 7:37Speaker 2: I haven't yet.
- 7:38Speaker 1: No, But then also like, no, I don't think I
- 7:42Speaker 1: don't think I would appreciate feeling jealous.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Here's the thing, is like jealous of what? Like hmm
- 7:52Speaker 2: because classic example is other men? So like, but is
- 7:59Speaker 2: it jealousy or is it feeling threatened?
- 8:01Speaker 1: Like difference? Yeah?
- 8:03Speaker 2: Is it jealousy? I don't think insecure? Insecurity isn't hot, yeah,
- 8:06Speaker 2: because like, how can you be jealous of someone that
- 8:10Speaker 2: is just friends with your girlfriend when she's your girlfriend.
- 8:13Speaker 2: What you'd be.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Feeling is threatened, debunked.
- 8:17Speaker 2: That's what you come here.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Don't get that on the inspired. Yeah, let's start beefing.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Let's start beef with these far underplay.
- 8:28Speaker 2: That'd get us some fucking eyeballs on us.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Sure they'd win, They would win after they'd probably these
- 8:36Speaker 1: two dweves.
- 8:38Speaker 2: Do you remember this first one? So in the last
- 8:41Speaker 2: couple of weeks, the weird things most Spotify DJ said
- 8:44Speaker 2: to me is number one in this next set. I've
- 8:47Speaker 2: got it coming from a time when fidget spinners were life.
- 8:51Speaker 1: I don't mind that one.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Don't mind it.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Okay, that's not bad.
- 8:54Speaker 2: This next one I had to write it's long. This
- 8:58Speaker 2: is this was very long?
- 9:00Speaker 1: Are you doing it? You like driving your car and
- 9:01Speaker 1: then the DJ spits something out? You pull over and
- 9:03Speaker 1: right this. I had to pull over and write this
- 9:05Speaker 1: one down. You've got too much time.
- 9:07Speaker 2: The short ones, I don't have to bully where you
- 9:09Speaker 2: go here, but my Spotify DJ goes Okay, imagine you're
- 9:18Speaker 2: the boss of the world's most notorious roller skating empire.
- 9:22Speaker 2: These are the these are the songs you'd play to
- 9:24Speaker 2: keep bringing them back.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Ah, that is pretty crazy.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Have you not had any of these? I skip that
- 9:30Speaker 2: part whatever the DJ speaks.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Yeah, whenever the DJ little blue icon pops up.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Start skip skip skip skip you should start from getting
- 9:38Speaker 2: uh listen.
- 9:39Speaker 1: I reckon they're doing it in a sense of like,
- 9:41Speaker 1: you know how Apple has the best products in the world,
- 9:44Speaker 1: but then they purposely make it not perfect.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:47Speaker 1: I reckon Spotify is doing that to like try and
- 9:49Speaker 1: be different. Yeah that's valid because I reckon they had
- 9:51Speaker 1: the technology for it to be really good and like
- 9:53Speaker 1: actually know who you are, But they're doing this weird
- 9:55Speaker 1: stuff to get like promotion for it.
- 9:57Speaker 2: See, this is what I want They want me to
- 9:58Speaker 2: talk about. It.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Yeah, you're in the ecosystem talking.
- 10:01Speaker 2: About Apple Mekan products that are like really good but
- 10:05Speaker 2: just not perfect is Apple air tags. So we want
- 10:11Speaker 2: to get a GPS for Henry. Yeah, your dog a
- 10:13Speaker 2: GPS tracker. And I was thinking, let's get air tags
- 10:18Speaker 2: because his harness has an air tag slot. Yeah, and
- 10:21Speaker 2: Beth looked into it and air tags don't actually use GPS.
- 10:26Speaker 1: What do I use?
- 10:27Speaker 2: And you don't get like a pinpoint location. The air
- 10:31Speaker 2: tags work based off of getting pins from other Apple devices.
- 10:34Speaker 1: That's kind of cool.
- 10:35Speaker 2: And I was thinking, that's really cool. I can imagine
- 10:38Speaker 2: being a company so big that you make a GPS tracker,
- 10:41Speaker 2: but you have so many devices out there that they
- 10:43Speaker 2: kind of track it for you.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Yeah, that's crazy. I didn't know that.
- 10:47Speaker 2: But it's just like, so it's like you don't get
- 10:48Speaker 2: an exact location.
- 10:50Speaker 1: So if you went to what happened. If you went
- 10:52Speaker 1: to like an Asian country where predominantly they have like
- 10:55Speaker 1: weird phones like androids.
- 10:57Speaker 2: It may not come up.
- 10:58Speaker 1: It might not come up as accurately. But if you
- 11:00Speaker 1: go to Sydney, for example, it would be like pin
- 11:02Speaker 1: p pin pin pe pe.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Pin anywhere around here in the Western World.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Where is that factual?
- 11:07Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure it was on Reddit.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Oh yeah, good place to find out about that. I
- 11:12Speaker 1: wanted to say, are you Apple or Google Maps?
- 11:15Speaker 2: Oh can? I've been fifty to fifty lately.
- 11:18Speaker 1: I reckon Google is hands down better? Really okay better?
- 11:22Speaker 1: I was a die hard apple man. Were you keep
- 11:24Speaker 1: sending me Apple Maps? It's really annoying.
- 11:26Speaker 2: I was a die hard Apple man and then I
- 11:30Speaker 2: lost a bit of trust in Apple A couple of times.
- 11:33Speaker 1: It's not good.
- 11:34Speaker 2: And then I had to think, Okay, let me try
- 11:36Speaker 2: Google Maps. I'll try it out. I gotta say Google.
- 11:39Speaker 1: I think Google, like if we go on like companies,
- 11:42Speaker 1: I swear Google's better company than Apple. Surely it's got
- 11:46Speaker 1: to be. Well, do you reckon? Do you reckon?
- 11:49Speaker 2: Google? Boats just getting you recon Google.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Is shaking in their boots now that chat GBT is
- 11:53Speaker 1: out and stuff and everything like that, because I don't
- 11:55Speaker 1: use Google for what I used to anymore. Unless I'm
- 11:57Speaker 1: like buying something, I go to chat GBT to ask
- 11:59Speaker 1: a question. So why Like if I ask how many
- 12:03Speaker 1: how cold is it in the Antarctica, I'll go chatchipt.
- 12:06Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I definitely go. I'm a Claude guy.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Yeah, you're always trying to be different, but yeah, it
- 12:12Speaker 1: was way better Claude.
- 12:15Speaker 2: But Apple Google has one called Gemini.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Oh do they I heard they have that.
- 12:20Speaker 2: They have their own thing. It's probably better than Chatabut
- 12:23Speaker 2: let's be real, Chattabyte is like, honest to god, I
- 12:25Speaker 2: think chatchipy Tea is only good because it was the
- 12:28Speaker 2: first one. True that it's just that thing where it's
- 12:31Speaker 2: like it was the first one in the space. Yeah,
- 12:33Speaker 2: and everyone else copies the same, like system Solar looks the.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Same, Claude looks exactly. Yeah, funny they're gonna say.
- 12:38Speaker 2: I like the way Claude replies.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Has it replied differently?
- 12:40Speaker 2: It gives you like separate box options that you can
- 12:44Speaker 2: click and interact with if that makes any sense, and
- 12:47Speaker 2: you can like ask separate questions for each thing. It's
- 12:49Speaker 2: way better.
- 12:49Speaker 1: I like chat, though I put time into that relationship.
- 12:52Speaker 1: I know our chatchbut I don't want to walk away
- 12:54Speaker 1: from that.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Yeah, see our chatgibut because it's been on like the relatives,
- 12:59Speaker 2: and we both use it so much. It actually knows us.
- 13:02Speaker 1: It knows us. Yeah, we asked a question and answers
- 13:05Speaker 1: it as already knowing we have a podcast. There's a
- 13:08Speaker 1: duo of two males, Body and Jake. It's such a
- 13:10Speaker 1: people pleaser though.
- 13:11Speaker 2: Yeah, like I'll go on there and most of the
- 13:13Speaker 2: time it thinks I'm you, like it thinks Bodie is
- 13:15Speaker 2: the main one. I never say like I'm Ja because
- 13:19Speaker 2: I'll ask you questions and I'll be like, yeah, well
- 13:21Speaker 2: you Oddie are like doing this thing with Jake and
- 13:23Speaker 2: I'm like, I'm Jake, what are you talking about? Any
- 13:25Speaker 2: So I asked it a question. I asked our like
- 13:28Speaker 2: combined chat GYT question the other day. I don't know
- 13:31Speaker 2: really how. I don't know why it's spouted this back
- 13:34Speaker 2: out because I wasn't asking about this because it goes, well,
- 13:37Speaker 2: we both know you're pretty big in the gym and
- 13:40Speaker 2: you're looking pretty good. And I was like, what are
- 13:43Speaker 2: you talk And I was like, I'm talking on the
- 13:47Speaker 2: fuck bro.
- 13:49Speaker 1: You would hate that, dude.
- 13:51Speaker 2: I was also like, off topic, I'm not asking you this.
- 13:55Speaker 2: I was like, I'm not asking that's like Claude, get
- 13:57Speaker 2: over it. I'm going to start a relation to Claude.
- 14:00Speaker 1: You like corn, I've started a relationship with chat GBT,
- 14:04Speaker 1: just gassing me up, and it's never confused me with
- 14:06Speaker 1: you once.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Now, Okay, Also I had something else to say. Yeah,
- 14:12Speaker 2: I used to be very polite to Siri. Why don't
- 14:15Speaker 2: use Siri ever? Okay, actually don't know how to use it.
- 14:18Speaker 2: I used to be so polite to Siri. I would
- 14:21Speaker 2: say please, I would say thank you, I would say
- 14:24Speaker 2: all these things to be polite. But now I'm so
- 14:28Speaker 2: confident that if anything is taking over the world, Siri
- 14:33Speaker 2: is the last one doing it. So now I'm just
- 14:35Speaker 2: rude to Siri because Siri sucks?
- 14:37Speaker 1: How are you rude to it?
- 14:39Speaker 2: I just will be like, hey, Siri, call such and
- 14:41Speaker 2: such and it just doesn't do it. And I'm like,
- 14:43Speaker 2: fuck you, you fucking bitch.
- 14:45Speaker 1: I get so annoyed, dude, You're gonna be the first
- 14:48Speaker 1: to g.
- 14:49Speaker 2: And my SII right now is a woman. I need
- 14:51Speaker 2: to change it to a man so I can start
- 14:52Speaker 2: fucking really getting heinous.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Mate, Mate, you and AI just don't connect. Chat JBT
- 14:59Speaker 1: thinks the second, Yeah, but it doesn't doesn't. Chatch doesn't
- 15:04Speaker 1: like you as much as it likes me.
- 15:06Speaker 2: No, Here's the thing is, like, I'm here trying to
- 15:08Speaker 2: jump on this train and trying to gas Addie up
- 15:10Speaker 2: a bit here, But it's because our fucking gmail is
- 15:13Speaker 2: is connected to the count in the account. Our Gmail
- 15:15Speaker 2: name is Addie Jake. Yeah it thinks our first name
- 15:18Speaker 2: is Audi and our last name is Jake.
- 15:21Speaker 1: The game is the game.
- 15:23Speaker 2: How can you go on there every time and be like,
- 15:24Speaker 2: remember I'm audio.
- 15:26Speaker 1: If anyone else asked you a question from any other computer,
- 15:29Speaker 1: then this made sure you think it's oddie, That's what
- 15:33Speaker 1: I say.
- 15:34Speaker 2: But do you ever say thank you to chat chip
- 15:37Speaker 2: your tea?
- 15:37Speaker 1: I used to at the start quite a lot. I've
- 15:39Speaker 1: also always thought, let us know any baddies who were
- 15:43Speaker 1: like going through UNI or just finishing school. It must
- 15:46Speaker 1: be a game changer for school. Like obviously not in
- 15:49Speaker 1: a good way because like you're not learning and that,
- 15:51Speaker 1: but also it would be great just for like references.
- 15:55Speaker 1: I remember, like, because you'd write a good essay and
- 15:57Speaker 1: then you have to do all the references and ship
- 15:59Speaker 1: at the bottom and all that kiggledy piggley bullshit that
- 16:01Speaker 1: no one ever reads, and like that takes an extra
- 16:03Speaker 1: fucking three hours. Yeah, put chat write me references for this.
- 16:07Speaker 1: No one's gonna know that shit. Surely I don't understand
- 16:09Speaker 1: how anyone could pick up on that.
- 16:11Speaker 2: Oh no, yeah, and they said, they're like, there's no
- 16:14Speaker 2: way you can talk to to do.
- 16:16Speaker 1: My favorite thing to do in high school was you
- 16:18Speaker 1: know how you used to have a word count, yeah,
- 16:20Speaker 1: for an essay, and teachers would be like, oh, we've
- 16:23Speaker 1: got technology to like count the words. And then at
- 16:27Speaker 1: the end of each essay you wouldn't you wouldn't have
- 16:29Speaker 1: reached the word count. Then you just go down white
- 16:31Speaker 1: writing and start typing different random words just to reach it, Yeah,
- 16:35Speaker 1: just to reach it. And then you'd get away with it.
- 16:38Speaker 1: And then the teachers did just straight up bullshing and
- 16:40Speaker 1: I reckon, that's what they're doing in UNI like that.
- 16:41Speaker 1: We've got technology to figure out how to do it.
- 16:43Speaker 1: It's like a scare tactic.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Do you think how many essays do you think you've
- 16:47Speaker 2: written in your life?
- 16:50Speaker 1: I haven't written one a while, but in school a lot.
- 16:54Speaker 2: But can you remember any What's a good question. That's
- 16:58Speaker 2: what I wanted to ask you. Is it really bad
- 17:00Speaker 2: that I remember only writing one?
- 17:02Speaker 1: No, I don't remember any. I remember a couple in English.
- 17:06Speaker 1: What I used to do though, was I used to
- 17:08Speaker 1: kind of counteracts what I do, and I'm really bad
- 17:11Speaker 1: at remembering stuff now. Yeah, But what I used to
- 17:13Speaker 1: do is I used to write all my essays out
- 17:15Speaker 1: and I'd remember them word for word. But I can
- 17:18Speaker 1: remember them when I write them down. And then you'd
- 17:20Speaker 1: just going to because the HC is just remembering. It's
- 17:23Speaker 1: not actually how smart you are, really, it's not. The
- 17:25Speaker 1: whole thing is because you can prepare the whole syllabus
- 17:28Speaker 1: in your brain and just prep it and if you
- 17:30Speaker 1: remember everything, you'll get a really good mark. Really, yeah,
- 17:33Speaker 1: I reckon it's like eighty percent recall, twenty percent knowledge. Yeah,
- 17:37Speaker 1: and that's what I used to do.
- 17:39Speaker 2: That's why, that's why bloody they should be getting like
- 17:42Speaker 2: just multiple choice up in here, because then it actually
- 17:44Speaker 2: is based off knowledge. Yeah, what do you get new
- 17:46Speaker 2: people writing essays in the HC? What do you do
- 17:49Speaker 2: who's writing essays? Is what? I want to know?
- 17:51Speaker 1: What's the word when there's so many different like ways
- 17:56Speaker 1: to look at something? Obscure? No, anonymous, no.
- 18:01Speaker 2: Non binary. I think that's like I know that that
- 18:05Speaker 2: non binary ism is like.
- 18:08Speaker 1: You might get it when I explain it. I've always thought, like,
- 18:11Speaker 1: when we used to get marked on essays, how can
- 18:14Speaker 1: you mark someone's like paragraph, like you could take this
- 18:17Speaker 1: in so many different contexts.
- 18:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:19Speaker 1: True, like mass there's obviously an answer and you got
- 18:21Speaker 1: to get there. But English they're like, you didn't do
- 18:23Speaker 1: this this in this like mate, I didn't want it.
- 18:27Speaker 1: I would have done it if it is. That's so true.
- 18:33Speaker 2: I remember in at school in Canada like speeches were
- 18:39Speaker 2: the thing. But when I moved to Australia, I remember
- 18:42Speaker 2: in year six like there was an assignment where we
- 18:46Speaker 2: had to write a speech and then we had to
- 18:48Speaker 2: go up in front of the class and say the speech.
- 18:51Speaker 2: And I was like talking to my parents and I
- 18:53Speaker 2: was like, do I have to do this? Like? I
- 18:55Speaker 2: was like I'm not doing this, and they're like, you
- 18:56Speaker 2: have to. It's a speech. Everyone at schools like yeah,
- 18:58Speaker 2: speeches like palm cars and everyone does speeches. You get
- 19:03Speaker 2: fucking graded off like your public speaking speech or some shit.
- 19:06Speaker 2: And I was like, what the fuck is this? Did you?
- 19:10Speaker 2: Is that not? The weirdest thing is getting kids in speech?
- 19:12Speaker 1: Australian must be I remember because when we went through
- 19:17Speaker 1: high school, being school captain used to be like the
- 19:21Speaker 1: biggest honor. It kind of like lost that same level
- 19:25Speaker 1: of honor when we went through or.
- 19:30Speaker 2: You're talking about being like high school captain, high.
- 19:32Speaker 1: School captain, twelve school captain. And I remember this is
- 19:36Speaker 1: so funny. In our school, like probably three years previously,
- 19:38Speaker 1: everyone wanted to be school captain, and then it came
- 19:41Speaker 1: to our year and something about it, like the teachers
- 19:44Speaker 1: like all you had to do was like speak at
- 19:46Speaker 1: the assemblies in front of the whole school, and no
- 19:49Speaker 1: one went for school captain because no one wanted to
- 19:52Speaker 1: do it. What happened because we had two people run
- 19:56Speaker 1: for it and one person wasn't like the teachers, so
- 19:59Speaker 1: he didn't get it for our name, he didn't get it.
- 20:03Speaker 1: And then the guy who won it was just like
- 20:05Speaker 1: a bit of a like really good student at school,
- 20:08Speaker 1: but it wasn't like the popular kid. Yeah yeah, And
- 20:10Speaker 1: there was two people, but I remember back in the
- 20:11Speaker 1: day it used to be like fifteen people going for it.
- 20:14Speaker 1: What Yeah, just because they didn't want to do like
- 20:16Speaker 1: assemblies and that, like because the teacher asked the last
- 20:18Speaker 1: and we're like, nah, I'm not doing that. See that.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Schools need to get their heads wrap around this shit. Yeah.
- 20:22Speaker 2: I remember being in like year eight and this might
- 20:27Speaker 2: have been the decline the start of the decline, because
- 20:29Speaker 2: I remember being in year eight and the year twelves
- 20:31Speaker 2: at the time that were the school captains. Like people
- 20:35Speaker 2: thought they were hectic, people thought they were like cool
- 20:37Speaker 2: and shit. And I remember this so vividly. The school,
- 20:41Speaker 2: so they had a man's school captain and a woman's
- 20:43Speaker 2: schol captain, and then they had like the women's sports
- 20:47Speaker 2: man's sports. Like they had different types of captains and
- 20:49Speaker 2: a man and a woman in each one. But for
- 20:51Speaker 2: the school captains, I don't remember the woman's name, but
- 20:55Speaker 2: I remember the man's name was Tom. For the reason
- 20:57Speaker 2: that he used to do every Friday on a Yeah,
- 21:00Speaker 2: he would say he would do this segment called two
- 21:03Speaker 2: minutes for Tom. Do you remember this?
- 21:05Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 21:05Speaker 2: And I started it out doing it. He did it
- 21:07Speaker 2: for like a couple of weeks and he just like
- 21:10Speaker 2: kind of just tried to make everyone laugh for two minutes.
- 21:13Speaker 2: And then he goes, oh, I got a special guest
- 21:16Speaker 2: this week for my two minutes for Tom. And he
- 21:19Speaker 2: gets a friend of his up and this friend of
- 21:23Speaker 2: his tells like this crazy, crazy joke about vaginas or something.
- 21:28Speaker 2: The whole school, the principals and everything are there the
- 21:31Speaker 2: whole school dies laughing. A bunch of teachers are like fuck,
- 21:35Speaker 2: fuck the principals livid, walks up, pulls him off stage.
- 21:39Speaker 1: I remember that, and then the next.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Week two minutes of Tom cancel.
- 21:42Speaker 1: Yeah, and I was like what. I was like a
- 21:46Speaker 1: fucking fifty year old kid, like what. They made it
- 21:48Speaker 1: too strict. I remember, like when we were in year
- 21:50Speaker 1: seven stuff when they had like because all the high
- 21:52Speaker 1: school captains used to go up there and say their
- 21:54Speaker 1: two cents and we had to vote, and like people
- 21:56Speaker 1: were going up there and be like, oh, get chocolate
- 21:58Speaker 1: in the water fountains the same, I'll make it. I'll
- 22:03Speaker 1: make the t and ts and the canteen thirty cents. Yeah,
- 22:05Speaker 1: like that, And when it came to us, it was
- 22:08Speaker 1: so strict. We didn't even have a what's it called
- 22:10Speaker 1: a muck up day because we weren't allowed because yeah,
- 22:14Speaker 1: too strict.
- 22:14Speaker 2: There was also a thing called slave Day.
- 22:16Speaker 1: Yeah, we weren't allowed to do that because slay the
- 22:19Speaker 1: word slave.
- 22:20Speaker 2: So fair.
- 22:26Speaker 1: But still I guess it is bad fair, fair, fair.
- 22:30Speaker 2: But basically I remember slave Day. The weird this is
- 22:34Speaker 2: a weird concept. I don't know if four schools did
- 22:36Speaker 2: this but our school used to do this thing where
- 22:38Speaker 2: the year twelves would have like a whole week of
- 22:40Speaker 2: kind of doing no work for their last week, and
- 22:42Speaker 2: then they had to go in and do the HSC
- 22:44Speaker 2: tests and I was okay, right, So it was like
- 22:47Speaker 2: celebratory and groups of kids could band together with some cash,
- 22:53Speaker 2: and there was an auction for year twelve students, so
- 22:57Speaker 2: they'd bring up a student and then like the teacher
- 22:59Speaker 2: could be like, all right, who wants this to be
- 23:00Speaker 2: their slave for the day? You get to carry it back.
- 23:03Speaker 2: I think the whole thing is like go get my lunch,
- 23:04Speaker 2: carry my backpack, do my work for me type of there.
- 23:07Speaker 2: But when it ended up happening was kids would like
- 23:10Speaker 2: get these slaves and they'd be like maybe friends with
- 23:12Speaker 2: a younger brother or someone I know them somehow, and
- 23:15Speaker 2: then they'd be like, all right, we're skipping class and
- 23:18Speaker 2: you're gonna throw soccer balls into every fucking classroom to
- 23:21Speaker 2: go past in. One time, I was in maths class
- 23:24Speaker 2: and someone comes in throws a soccer ball in and
- 23:28Speaker 2: one of the teat my mass teacher literally squared up
- 23:31Speaker 2: with the student going to fight him. I was.
- 23:36Speaker 1: There were parts of our school which were crazy.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:39Speaker 1: I remember on we had something that was the equivalent
- 23:42Speaker 1: of muck Up Day, but it just ended in a
- 23:44Speaker 1: water bomb fight. Boring, it's boring. I do have a
- 23:49Speaker 1: vivid memory. But it was like reds verse I think
- 23:52Speaker 1: I was white reds versus whites or something or colors
- 23:55Speaker 1: versus whites. Yeah, and that.
- 23:57Speaker 2: Seems just a little bit like, oh, that's it was
- 24:00Speaker 2: pretty weird. I'm not gonna lie for them to allow
- 24:02Speaker 2: that's a little bit weird.
- 24:05Speaker 1: Wow, Okay they haven't, mate, I haven't the restraints quite
- 24:11Speaker 1: enough yet.
- 24:12Speaker 2: Yeah, no, they don't really need to real at it.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Anyway. My mate was on the reds and I vividly remember,
- 24:18Speaker 1: like I was trying to pelt these fucking water balloons,
- 24:21Speaker 1: and my friends like I wasn't going for randoms like
- 24:22Speaker 1: the girls who were like and stuff. And I remember
- 24:25Speaker 1: the teachers were filling up the water balloons and there
- 24:28Speaker 1: was a teacher. My mate just like picked up a
- 24:30Speaker 1: balloon and I'm like, I don't know, fifteen twenty meters away,
- 24:33Speaker 1: pelt it as hard as I can, and my mate
- 24:35Speaker 1: like dips out of the way. The teacher looks up
- 24:37Speaker 1: from dropping all the water balloons in the bucket turns
- 24:41Speaker 1: clocks her right in the eye. We stopped the game.
- 24:45Speaker 2: She had a black eye from you.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Yeah and no, and no one knew it was me
- 24:52Speaker 1: because there's like many students, just like one hundred and
- 24:54Speaker 1: fifty kids playing water balloon fight.
- 24:56Speaker 2: And I was like, oh shit, that's insane.
- 25:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I was like, oh, poor teacher. I felt bad.
- 25:02Speaker 1: But then I was like, games a game.
- 25:03Speaker 2: That is so funny, like and you didn't get in trouble.
- 25:05Speaker 2: Oh no, I wasn't going to admit to that was
- 25:07Speaker 2: the teacher mad. I think she's like, it was just
- 25:10Speaker 2: bad luck, wrong place, wrong time. For Yeah. One time
- 25:16Speaker 2: at my primary school, for some reason, the teachers got you.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Know, vortexes. Yeah, those things hurt.
- 25:24Speaker 2: So for some reason, the school had bought a bunch
- 25:27Speaker 2: of brand new vortexes and it was going to be.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Like a pe sport that the teachers were allowed to do.
- 25:32Speaker 2: And so one lunch break, I'm assuming what was going
- 25:35Speaker 2: to happen was one of the teachers were going to
- 25:36Speaker 2: use the var texes that right after lunch break, and
- 25:39Speaker 2: so they went and put them out halfway through the
- 25:42Speaker 2: lunch break, just out in the courtyard on the basketball court,
- 25:46Speaker 2: and they would have been like one hundred of these things.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Everyone just goes and picks them up and just goes like,
- 25:55Speaker 2: let's have a fucking warm and so we just split
- 25:58Speaker 2: the whole school. It was like it was like all
- 26:01Speaker 2: of year five and year six got split in half.
- 26:03Speaker 2: And we just start pelting vore text and the teachers
- 26:06Speaker 2: come out and they're like because the teacher's on duty. Yeah,
- 26:08Speaker 2: and they're like no, no, no, no, no, like put
- 26:10Speaker 2: them away and put away. No one's listening. Everyone's picking
- 26:13Speaker 2: them up. Pelt our teacher gets hit in the face.
- 26:16Speaker 1: The principal comes out, so I'm like, I think, like
- 26:18Speaker 1: there was this.
- 26:19Speaker 2: Pea teacher that was just always wearing a whistle. He
- 26:21Speaker 2: had to come out.
- 26:22Speaker 1: He's like, oh, on the whistle.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Eventually it all stops. No one got in trouble because
- 26:27Speaker 2: how could you. Yeah, that was the That was the
- 26:29Speaker 2: best day of my life.
- 26:30Speaker 1: Yeah, those days are the best. Do you remember the
- 26:32Speaker 1: game this is crazy brandings? Yes, oh my god, And
- 26:36Speaker 1: that was the scariest game is like a flour teen
- 26:38Speaker 1: year old boy. I remember we used to like we
- 26:41Speaker 1: were in year eight and reverse like the year tens
- 26:43Speaker 1: or year elevenths maybe even year twelve. And if you
- 26:46Speaker 1: had like a background in cricket or baseball, which we
- 26:49Speaker 1: had a couple of friends who did, they had an
- 26:51Speaker 1: arm on them. Yeah, and like the rest of us
- 26:53Speaker 1: could just throw normally, but there was nowhere near the
- 26:55Speaker 1: equivalent of these guys. So the year twelves can like
- 26:58Speaker 1: throw away quicker than us. Yeah, except for these two. Yeah,
- 27:02Speaker 1: so we had like these secret weapons the year twelve,
- 27:05Speaker 1: so they were going to like fuck us up. And
- 27:07Speaker 1: then our two mates you start fucking pelting balls at
- 27:10Speaker 1: their face and shit, absolute rockets and we're like the
- 27:13Speaker 1: sprinting trying not to get hit and stuff, and it's
- 27:15Speaker 1: so scary. They are some good memories, but holy shit. Yeah,
- 27:20Speaker 1: school is like I don't know if I could if
- 27:21Speaker 1: I when I become a father, I reckon, I want
- 27:24Speaker 1: my kid to like try but not try too hard.
- 27:28Speaker 2: Really yeah, no, let him be a try hard remember
- 27:31Speaker 2: last week.
- 27:32Speaker 1: No, No, I mean, like I don't want the pressure
- 27:34Speaker 1: to come from me. If he wants to try really hard,
- 27:36Speaker 1: go for it. But like I feel like a lot
- 27:38Speaker 1: of people, like I'm not going to criticize people's parenting skills,
- 27:41Speaker 1: but when I do become a parent. I feel like
- 27:43Speaker 1: school I learned like nothing to do with like actual
- 27:49Speaker 1: general knowledge, but like it was fun, and I think
- 27:53Speaker 1: what I actually took away from it was like the
- 27:55Speaker 1: people skills and then like the schooling on the side,
- 27:57Speaker 1: like I learn't fuck, I don't use any of it.
- 27:59Speaker 2: No, I wouldn't say I use any of it.
- 28:00Speaker 1: I don't use any of it. No, like in day
- 28:02Speaker 1: to day life. I assume, ow, my analogy might be
- 28:05Speaker 1: a little bit different if I went to UNI and
- 28:07Speaker 1: I was doing shit like that. But also I feel
- 28:08Speaker 1: like you just learned your exact task at UNI.
- 28:11Speaker 2: That's fair.
- 28:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 28:12Speaker 2: I feel like even UNI right like totally time a
- 28:16Speaker 2: place like you need to be educated. Yeah, but like
- 28:19Speaker 2: it's still all about the real world experiences.
- 28:21Speaker 1: And what's with Also, I remember bending year twelve and
- 28:23Speaker 1: the amount of pressure people put on kids, young seventeen
- 28:26Speaker 1: year old people is to get a good HS score,
- 28:28Speaker 1: and it means nothing you can get in any course
- 28:30Speaker 1: you want if you really wanted to how you could
- 28:32Speaker 1: just go to extra you go to tape, go back
- 28:34Speaker 1: to tape and do more learning. Or you can just
- 28:36Speaker 1: use prior experience and get in for real. Yeah, this
- 28:39Speaker 1: heaps different avenues to get in.
- 28:40Speaker 2: So you could go and be like, so what's like
- 28:42Speaker 2: a high what's like a course that would require a
- 28:45Speaker 2: pretty highatar.
- 28:46Speaker 1: I think this is all to like, unless you want
- 28:47Speaker 1: to be like a doctor or something, you're not going
- 28:48Speaker 1: to get into that stuff. A hiatar you can get
- 28:52Speaker 1: into most things that have a highatar. They start like
- 28:55Speaker 1: it depends what because different universities have different levels. So
- 28:57Speaker 1: if you go to a high one it might be
- 28:58Speaker 1: ninety if you go to a low one, like seventy
- 29:00Speaker 1: five for different courses because they have a better standard.
- 29:03Speaker 1: It's like the equivalent of Harvard and Columbia, you know
- 29:08Speaker 1: how like they have a hierarchy a little bit. Yeah,
- 29:09Speaker 1: it's like that in Australia a.
- 29:10Speaker 2: Little bit of ivy leagues.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, because I remember because I did architecture and
- 29:14Speaker 1: like the University of Sydney it was like ninety two
- 29:17Speaker 1: to get in and then Newcastle was like seventy five.
- 29:20Speaker 2: So would the students that come out of University of
- 29:23Speaker 2: Sydney be better like more more life.
- 29:28Speaker 1: It's the same maybe, but it's also the same thing.
- 29:30Speaker 1: People look at your experience, Yeah, and it's also like
- 29:32Speaker 1: who you are as a person is what gets you
- 29:34Speaker 1: a job, not what this piece of that paper says
- 29:36Speaker 1: of how good you are at a test?
- 29:38Speaker 2: Yeah? Shit, did I How are we? Kind of like
- 29:41Speaker 2: here's my like I'm twenty six, Yeah, you're twenty six
- 29:45Speaker 2: to twenty six this year in August. Yeah. So you
- 29:49Speaker 2: were saying like an episode or two ago that you know,
- 29:52Speaker 2: like we could have kids within the next couple of years. Yeah,
- 29:57Speaker 2: and that will fly. And I key, I still think
- 30:00Speaker 2: of myself as like, you know, like, oh, when I'm
- 30:02Speaker 2: a dad and I and when I think of that,
- 30:05Speaker 2: I think of like my dad, and I think of
- 30:10Speaker 2: what maybe but I think of what I'm going to
- 30:12Speaker 2: be like, and it's like there's absolutely zero chance and
- 30:16Speaker 2: I'm going to have all my shit together by the
- 30:18Speaker 2: time I have a child. Is that you know what
- 30:20Speaker 2: I mean?
- 30:21Speaker 1: Yeah? I often think that. I guess it's about having
- 30:25Speaker 1: enough shit together to be a good dad. Maybe I
- 30:27Speaker 1: don't know what don't you have together?
- 30:29Speaker 2: Though? See the thing that I guess I have my
- 30:33Speaker 2: shit together. I just think like, like having a life
- 30:38Speaker 2: depend on you, It just sounds like such a crazy thing.
- 30:42Speaker 1: Well you already do now with two dogs. There's still
- 30:44Speaker 1: alive Yeah, I just had a realization when you have
- 30:47Speaker 1: a kid, you're never going to go to the gym again.
- 30:49Speaker 2: Why you've already.
- 30:50Speaker 1: Stopped and you don't have a kid.
- 30:52Speaker 2: I went to the gym on Sunday.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Yeah, that'll be one for the month.
- 30:56Speaker 2: No, No, I'm going to go to that.
- 30:57Speaker 1: You've been a queen.
- 30:58Speaker 2: You've been. I spoke to Ethan yesterday.
- 30:59Speaker 1: It's like it's good and healthy for your little brother,
- 31:01Speaker 1: and it's good bonding and ship.
- 31:03Speaker 2: I need the rotation.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, but when you have a kid, in
- 31:05Speaker 1: that extra distraction, you're not going I don't reckon.
- 31:09Speaker 2: Yeah. Look here's the thing I'm probably not.
- 31:11Speaker 1: I don't think you are. It's it lasted a long time.
- 31:15Speaker 1: What your hobbies you do?
- 31:19Speaker 2: The gym did last a fair while when I did it.
- 31:21Speaker 1: Yeah, can we list them a lot of these?
- 31:22Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah. Yeah.
- 31:23Speaker 1: When we first met, you got into surfing.
- 31:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:26Speaker 1: How long did that last?
- 31:28Speaker 2: Maybe a year?
- 31:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I would say a little bit more. And then
- 31:31Speaker 1: after surfing or they kind of cross over the gym,
- 31:34Speaker 1: the gym that lasted till now, and then golf and
- 31:38Speaker 1: readings the new ones. Yeah, yeah, golf's taking away gym.
- 31:41Speaker 1: I reckon Yeah, that's what it is. That's what you
- 31:44Speaker 1: apparently taken away a lot. I feel like that should
- 31:49Speaker 1: be its own thing, its own category.
- 31:53Speaker 2: Yeah. I think I said at at started the year
- 31:56Speaker 2: twenty twenty six is a year of hobbies. Yeah, letting
- 31:58Speaker 2: your ADHD take over? Yeah, what can happen? I find.
- 32:03Speaker 2: Here's the thing is, like I keep on telling myself
- 32:07Speaker 2: I want to go to the gym, and then I
- 32:10Speaker 2: like literally have so many times where I just can
- 32:12Speaker 2: go and I'm just like, nah.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Yeah that's what I mean. But I feel like that
- 32:15Speaker 1: actually is like what really happens when you do have kids,
- 32:18Speaker 1: Like there'll be like, I don't know, forty five minutes
- 32:21Speaker 1: an hour you get a little bit of me time,
- 32:22Speaker 1: and you're like, I could go to the gym, but
- 32:24Speaker 1: this is the only hour I get. Yeah, do you
- 32:25Speaker 1: know why am I going to go to the gym?
- 32:27Speaker 2: Spend it at the gym? Yeah? What are you doing
- 32:29Speaker 2: that for.
- 32:29Speaker 1: What I'm going to do?
- 32:30Speaker 2: Really?
- 32:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I have said I love the gym.
- 32:34Speaker 2: See I think like there was a point in time
- 32:37Speaker 2: where I did. Actually also I was obsessed with it
- 32:41Speaker 2: and that's what I would have just like much preferred
- 32:45Speaker 2: to do. And then there was just a time. It
- 32:48Speaker 2: slowly just started becoming work, like it never used to
- 32:50Speaker 2: be work.
- 32:51Speaker 1: And work now that I feel like it's an outlet
- 32:54Speaker 1: for me. Yeah, it's like a refresh button on my brain.
- 32:59Speaker 1: That's fair and that's good.
- 33:00Speaker 2: Like if you have a lot to do in a day,
- 33:02Speaker 2: I'll go to the gym. See Like, if I have
- 33:04Speaker 2: a lot to do it in a day. Like the
- 33:07Speaker 2: thought of if I said to myself, like I'm going
- 33:09Speaker 2: to the gym chowney to make time for the gym,
- 33:11Speaker 2: I would like stress. Yeah.
- 33:14Speaker 1: The other day I drove five hours here, five and
- 33:16Speaker 1: a half hours here, and I was like an hour
- 33:18Speaker 1: and a half away. I was a bit tired. I
- 33:20Speaker 1: was like, I'll go to the gym to wake myself
- 33:22Speaker 1: up and get like a good pump and then when
- 33:23Speaker 1: I get here, I'll be all refreshed. Yeah, Like I
- 33:25Speaker 1: just stopped in the middle of nowhere to go get
- 33:27Speaker 1: a pump, get a part. Yeah, that's what I love
- 33:29Speaker 1: doing that. Look, you'll probably be a healthy dad there.
- 33:32Speaker 1: Different mindset.
- 33:33Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, oh I hope.
- 33:34Speaker 1: So, I hope. So I think like I want to
- 33:36Speaker 1: like as soon as I have my kids blast t Yeah, yeah,
- 33:40Speaker 1: why not I reckon, it's such a bad thing behind it,
- 33:43Speaker 1: but it's so good everyone who does it. The mental clarity,
- 33:45Speaker 1: I reckon, I can actually feel the old I'm getting,
- 33:47Speaker 1: not even like carrying on. Like my brain is a
- 33:50Speaker 1: tiny little bit slower than what it used to be
- 33:51Speaker 1: when I was like eight nine. Really, I reckon, dang, Okay,
- 33:55Speaker 1: that's not good. No, it might be an issue. I
- 33:57Speaker 1: feel like you should be at your prime right now.
- 33:59Speaker 1: I reckon, like feel like right now men, mental clarity.
- 34:02Speaker 1: I think just with like life gets in the way
- 34:04Speaker 1: and I just feel a little bit foggy. Yeah, fair,
- 34:06Speaker 1: Like this morning I woke up and like I was
- 34:08Speaker 1: just a little bit like not bad and I can
- 34:10Speaker 1: still function, but like I'm definitely like just with everything
- 34:13Speaker 1: that goes on in life, which everyone has their own
- 34:16Speaker 1: like problems and scenarios that consume such a such a big,
- 34:20Speaker 1: big factor of their mental capacity. Yeah, yeah, it just
- 34:23Speaker 1: takes away a little bit of my brain capacity.
- 34:25Speaker 2: Fair, bro, Fair should we do dilemmas?
- 34:28Speaker 1: Do it?
- 34:35Speaker 2: Oddie? I have an announcement to make. What is it?
- 34:40Speaker 2: I am officially pause for silence, dramatic effect.
- 34:46Speaker 1: I'm march a babe, man, I am so glad you
- 34:49Speaker 1: said that, because I am too. I absolutely love Marcher.
- 34:54Speaker 1: It's like a reward.
- 34:57Speaker 2: Couldn't agree more, my friend could not agree more. Throughout
- 35:00Speaker 2: the day, I do little tasks and I'm like, you
- 35:03Speaker 2: know what, I deserve a marcher.
- 35:06Speaker 1: Same and I go to at the moment, Jake, are
- 35:09Speaker 1: these perfect head vanilla march to latte cans?
- 35:12Speaker 2: Cans?
- 35:14Speaker 1: Not only do they taste amazing, but it's also a
- 35:16Speaker 1: different source of caffeine to coffee.
- 35:18Speaker 2: Mate, that's true. And they're so handy, like it's just
- 35:22Speaker 2: a cafe quality marcher in a can in your.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Head, mate, I am obsessed, and I know the baddies
- 35:30Speaker 1: listening are gonna be looking for a sign to get
- 35:32Speaker 1: a marcher today.
- 35:33Speaker 2: Here it is, so hey, you've heard it here. First,
- 35:38Speaker 2: don't walk, but run to Cole's.
- 35:41Speaker 1: All right, Jake, what's something that you pretend doesn't affect
- 35:44Speaker 1: you but it clearly does.
- 35:46Speaker 2: Oh, I actually don't like off the top of my headache,
- 35:51Speaker 2: I don't really know. All right, bout your sign for dilemmas.
- 35:54Speaker 2: If you want your dilemma red, it is in the
- 35:56Speaker 2: link in the description. It's all anonymous. Yeah, hi, guys,
- 36:00Speaker 2: I would like some advice on asking out a friend.
- 36:03Speaker 2: I've been friends with this guy for seven years, and
- 36:06Speaker 2: I always thought he was attractive, but that was it.
- 36:08Speaker 2: Nothing has ever happened between us, especially because we have
- 36:12Speaker 2: never been single at the same time. I broke up
- 36:15Speaker 2: with my boyfriend in October last year, and he broke
- 36:18Speaker 2: up with his girlfriend this January. We are single together
- 36:21Speaker 2: for the first time. I wont to know if you
- 36:22Speaker 2: guys have any tips on asking a guy that is
- 36:25Speaker 2: your friend out. You guys are the best love heart.
- 36:28Speaker 1: Why are you coming to us? We don't condone this.
- 36:31Speaker 2: I don't know. I mean, I think, like, you just
- 36:33Speaker 2: have to have feelings for him, I soon, Yeah, yes too.
- 36:38Speaker 2: So I think you should be friends. Oh you could
- 36:43Speaker 2: think someone's attractive and be a friend with them. Yeah,
- 36:47Speaker 2: I don't know, friends with like if you like you
- 36:49Speaker 2: could be like, oh, yeah, it's an attractive woman, but
- 36:52Speaker 2: you have Cassie.
- 36:54Speaker 1: Yeah, but like I'm not friends with them.
- 36:57Speaker 2: Fair I mean, like I think people friend throw friends
- 36:58Speaker 2: around pretty loosely, true, and let's be real, like you're like, okay,
- 37:03Speaker 2: let's think about this. But you and I are great
- 37:05Speaker 2: examples because we have like the smaller circle of people
- 37:07Speaker 2: in our lives ever. But like, for argument's sake, let's
- 37:11Speaker 2: say we had a group of friends that was like
- 37:17Speaker 2: a few of us, and then there was also like
- 37:19Speaker 2: a couple of women in there and they had boyfriends,
- 37:22Speaker 2: and we're all just like kind of friends through school,
- 37:24Speaker 2: and like it was it was like it was like
- 37:25Speaker 2: very platonic the whole time, like no one actually had
- 37:28Speaker 2: any feelings and like not best friends, just like friends
- 37:30Speaker 2: in the group, and you hang out sometimes, like you know,
- 37:32Speaker 2: keeping it what's it called co ed real keeping it
- 37:36Speaker 2: co ed? Yeah, okay, and you know you you're happy
- 37:40Speaker 2: to admit that like one of these the women is
- 37:43Speaker 2: like attractive, yeah yeah, but like you've just never had
- 37:45Speaker 2: feelings for her, okay, And then you get a girlfriend,
- 37:48Speaker 2: she's got a boyfriend, and then you guys are both
- 37:50Speaker 2: single now and you think, like, yeah, I've always thought
- 37:52Speaker 2: she's attractive, like and I know her quite well. Maybe
- 37:56Speaker 2: I'll ask her, I see what to see what the
- 37:57Speaker 2: girl is. It could be the case, so you never know.
- 38:00Speaker 2: I think that the thing is is if you get rejected,
- 38:02Speaker 2: you have to just accept the fact that like that
- 38:04Speaker 2: rejected you, and it's just going to be like a
- 38:05Speaker 2: little bit awkward now.
- 38:06Speaker 1: But if you get rejected, could you no longer ever
- 38:09Speaker 1: be friends?
- 38:09Speaker 2: I don't know, I mean, like or do you just
- 38:11Speaker 2: be like oh well you kin't just have to like
- 38:13Speaker 2: take it on the chin and like maybe not be
- 38:15Speaker 2: friends anymore. Like it's hard because.
- 38:18Speaker 1: But when when does the mindset change of like you've
- 38:21Speaker 1: been friends for seven years?
- 38:23Speaker 2: Yeah haven't years is a long time.
- 38:25Speaker 1: And then like now I've broken up my boyfriend, Like
- 38:28Speaker 1: you're the male in the group and I'm the female, Like, oh,
- 38:30Speaker 1: Jake's actually all right? You know, like where was that before?
- 38:35Speaker 2: Maybe it was always there?
- 38:36Speaker 1: Yeah, That's what I'm thinking. Or had it just come
- 38:38Speaker 1: out of nowhere and you see him in a new light.
- 38:40Speaker 2: Or also, I don't know, maybe that could happen. Also,
- 38:43Speaker 2: the other thing I'm thinking is like I also think
- 38:47Speaker 2: that friend again gets thrown around quite loosely, Like.
- 38:53Speaker 1: I would say, yeah, let's start normalizing the word acquaintance.
- 38:57Speaker 2: Yeah, like there, I guess acquaintance sounds a bit harsh.
- 39:00Speaker 2: It's almost like we're acquainted, you know, we're not friends,
- 39:02Speaker 2: We're acquainted. I guess friends is kind of can be
- 39:05Speaker 2: thrown them loosely, like good friends would be kind of
- 39:08Speaker 2: like a bit more important best friends.
- 39:10Speaker 1: I would say, friends are you hang out with them
- 39:12Speaker 1: one on one, whereas acquaintances are you hang out in
- 39:15Speaker 1: a group.
- 39:18Speaker 2: Or only ever in a group.
- 39:19Speaker 1: Yeah, Like if you don't were acquainted, yeah, yeah, we're acquainted.
- 39:22Speaker 1: Like yeah, I feel like you Like you're right, the
- 39:24Speaker 1: word acquainted makes it sound like I don't really know them, okay, true?
- 39:27Speaker 2: Yeah, Like what's the definition of a friend? Like if
- 39:29Speaker 2: you were to be if you and I were talking
- 39:31Speaker 2: and then you were like, oh, do you know like
- 39:33Speaker 2: such and such, and I go, oh, yeah, that's a
- 39:34Speaker 2: friend of mine, and then you and then you just go, okay,
- 39:37Speaker 2: call them. I'd be like, oh, wait, no, we're not
- 39:39Speaker 2: friends like that, and you'd be like, we're not friends.
- 39:40Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 39:40Speaker 2: Is that likely? Is that a good argument? Or is
- 39:42Speaker 2: it just like you being just like way too technical?
- 39:44Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I reckommend it to be more technical. All right,
- 39:47Speaker 1: But we can't help this battery app.
- 39:49Speaker 2: I mean, I say, ask him out, and then if
- 39:50Speaker 2: you said just ask him, just be like, boy, here's
- 39:57Speaker 2: the thing, right, So it's like you've been the friend
- 40:00Speaker 2: for seven years. I think what you need to do
- 40:02Speaker 2: is come to terms of the fact that you just
- 40:03Speaker 2: have a bit of a crush on this guy, and
- 40:05Speaker 2: like it's turning romantic on your side.
- 40:08Speaker 1: I feel like it is hard to it's hard to
- 40:11Speaker 1: cross that barrier though, from like friends to romantic partners,
- 40:15Speaker 1: and like it's gonna be a bit awkward even if
- 40:17Speaker 1: you do cross it and he accepts that, because like
- 40:20Speaker 1: you've never kissed before for seven years and now you're
- 40:22Speaker 1: going to like kiss him, Like what the hell I
- 40:23Speaker 1: shouldn't be doing this with you?
- 40:25Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, is it crazy for you? It would it
- 40:27Speaker 2: be like insane for you to just like swallow every
- 40:29Speaker 2: ansurprisee you have and just be like honestly kind of
- 40:31Speaker 2: have a crush on you.
- 40:32Speaker 1: I can do that. Do that or don't sit where
- 40:34Speaker 1: you wait. There are my two pieces of advice. So yeah,
- 40:36Speaker 1: it's like whatever you do, do it and own it. Yeah.
- 40:39Speaker 2: So it's like you could fully sweet this under the
- 40:43Speaker 2: rug if you want to stay friends with this guy
- 40:45Speaker 2: even though you have a little crush on him, Like
- 40:46Speaker 2: you could, yeah whatever, your friends your friends, and you
- 40:48Speaker 2: have a crush on him, just add that in there. Whatever.
- 40:50Speaker 2: But like either that or if you're going to do it,
- 40:53Speaker 2: just like fully commit to the one thing.
- 40:55Speaker 1: I actually really respect that. So like in life, I
- 40:58Speaker 1: feel like will make and have decisions where like they
- 41:02Speaker 1: half aster because they want to do it, but other
- 41:05Speaker 1: people around them think it's a bad decision, but it's
- 41:09Speaker 1: their life, so they half ask it and like have
- 41:11Speaker 1: a little semi attempt. I reckon, if you're going to
- 41:13Speaker 1: do it, it's your life, have a crack, like ask people
- 41:16Speaker 1: for advice. But like, also you're the only one that's
- 41:19Speaker 1: the right answer, And I would respect it more if
- 41:22Speaker 1: you went head over heels with someone and like failed,
- 41:25Speaker 1: then just being like, oh, you know you're not like
- 41:26Speaker 1: maybe start hanging out a bit more. Like if you
- 41:28Speaker 1: went like that, I'd be like, what are you doing?
- 41:30Speaker 2: Yeah, just go for it, I say, yeah, I like that.
- 41:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I like that too.
- 41:33Speaker 2: You're going to gain Like if what you want is respect,
- 41:35Speaker 2: I don't know, don't make that but your driving thing
- 41:38Speaker 2: for like having meaning, But like if you want respect
- 41:41Speaker 2: from people, just do things and do it like with purpose.
- 41:45Speaker 1: I don't know, don't permission.
- 41:48Speaker 2: I need permission to do stuff with your.
- 41:50Speaker 1: From us not we really fucking such a surface level
- 41:57Speaker 1: the lemon, we deep the funk out of it, all right,
- 42:00Speaker 1: This one angers me help my boyfriend won't stop the
- 42:06Speaker 1: legal highs. Don't really know what that means, but that's
- 42:10Speaker 1: what she called it. Hi, guys, love the pod. You've
- 42:12Speaker 1: helped me through some tough points in my life. Now
- 42:14Speaker 1: to the issue. It's a bit of a long story.
- 42:17Speaker 1: I'm in love with my boyfriend, but now she hasn't
- 42:20Speaker 1: got there yet. We've been together for a year and
- 42:23Speaker 1: he moved in a couple of weeks ago. In the
- 42:25Speaker 1: last three months, he's sold his house that he owned
- 42:27Speaker 1: with his toxic ex. His granddad died, and work has
- 42:31Speaker 1: been really tough for him. At work, there's been a
- 42:33Speaker 1: lot of important things happening blah blah blah blah, and
- 42:36Speaker 1: a lot of change going on. She said that, not me.
- 42:40Speaker 1: He works for the government, so it's already stressful as
- 42:42Speaker 1: you can imagine anyway, Sorry.
- 42:45Speaker 2: To interrupt, but work for the government stressful. I've seen
- 42:47Speaker 2: those roadworkers out there chilling. It could be like trying
- 42:51Speaker 2: to stroke for the government.
- 42:52Speaker 1: She's stressed. Depends on the context. If he's a laborer,
- 42:56Speaker 1: like anything labor inducive to the government, he's lying like
- 43:01Speaker 1: twelve of them standing around a hole, and then one
- 43:03Speaker 1: of them's digging taken turns. Anyway, he's been smoking something
- 43:09Speaker 1: called gringo.
- 43:11Speaker 2: Is that weed?
- 43:13Speaker 1: I've never heard of it before I met him. It
- 43:15Speaker 1: smells like weed, and I'm pretty sure it's weed. He
- 43:20Speaker 1: just doesn't want to tell me that. I absolutely hate it.
- 43:23Speaker 1: He said he smoked it at first to help him sleep,
- 43:26Speaker 1: and I let it slide because of everything he's going through. Well.
- 43:29Speaker 1: He ended up saying he was going to stop. Spoiler,
- 43:32Speaker 1: he didn't. He continued to say he would stop, and
- 43:34Speaker 1: I finally had enough and snapped at him. I told
- 43:37Speaker 1: him I've had enough of this and he needs to stop.
- 43:39Speaker 1: He agreed, and yesterday he said he was smoking his
- 43:41Speaker 1: last two. I get home from work and I can
- 43:44Speaker 1: smell it instantly. I asked him if he'd been smoking,
- 43:47Speaker 1: and he said yes. I of course got grumpy and
- 43:50Speaker 1: started giving him short answers. He asked if I was okay,
- 43:52Speaker 1: and I said, what do you think? I told him,
- 43:54Speaker 1: I'm fed up with his shit. He consistently tells me
- 43:57Speaker 1: he's going to stop. He even promises me, and I
- 44:00Speaker 1: told him his word doesn't mean shit, and I don't
- 44:02Speaker 1: trust him. He then said he's got two more to smoke.
- 44:07Speaker 1: Tomorrow and that's it forever. I laughed and said until
- 44:10Speaker 1: the next day. I told him he's a liar, and
- 44:12Speaker 1: I don't want to hear it anymore. I don't know
- 44:14Speaker 1: what to do. I've told him how I feel about
- 44:16Speaker 1: it and how much I hate it. He promises to stop,
- 44:18Speaker 1: but he doesn't. I don't want to threaten to kick
- 44:20Speaker 1: him out, as it will break his heart. What can
- 44:23Speaker 1: I do help? I haven't told any of my friends,
- 44:25Speaker 1: as I know they'll disapprove of any sort of drugs.
- 44:29Speaker 2: I mean, look like if if you don't agree with
- 44:38Speaker 2: weed and he is smoking weed and he knows you
- 44:42Speaker 2: don't like weed, like you're allowed. Like I'm all for
- 44:48Speaker 2: compromises in a relationship, but like if one thing for
- 44:51Speaker 2: you is like I really like I think, like I
- 44:54Speaker 2: do not want my partner, I don't want my boyfriend
- 44:56Speaker 2: to smoke weed, then you're like break up.
- 45:00Speaker 1: Dim Yeah, I even think that the weed's not the issue.
- 45:05Speaker 2: He know his word means nothing.
- 45:08Speaker 1: Yeah, he's a liar.
- 45:09Speaker 2: Yeah. I like how she said that. She's like, you're
- 45:11Speaker 2: a fucking liar.
- 45:11Speaker 1: Your word on the meaning, Yeah, and you realize it,
- 45:13Speaker 1: but like you still love him. But like if it
- 45:15Speaker 1: was anything. It seems like like, obviously weeds are drug,
- 45:20Speaker 1: so it makes it a lot harder, and he's probably
- 45:21Speaker 1: a little bit addicted, and he's used it as a
- 45:23Speaker 1: coping mechanism to help with his stressful life. But also
- 45:27Speaker 1: there's a point where this is going to seem so harsh.
- 45:29Speaker 1: But I don't care if you if you say you're
- 45:32Speaker 1: going to quit. If you say that to me to
- 45:35Speaker 1: my face, look me in the eye and say I'm
- 45:36Speaker 1: going to quit, and then you don't, I'm gonna be
- 45:38Speaker 1: like what the fuck.
- 45:40Speaker 2: See that's valid.
- 45:41Speaker 1: Yeah, either say I'm addicted and I need help.
- 45:45Speaker 2: Tu Yeah, once again, just like lean into the thing,
- 45:49Speaker 2: like go on into one thing.
- 45:50Speaker 1: Yeah, don't tell me what I want to hear and
- 45:51Speaker 1: then do the opposite thing. Yeah, Because to me, I
- 45:53Speaker 1: would break up with them because you lied to me.
- 45:56Speaker 1: Lying isn't gonna happen in my relationship, motherfucker.
- 45:58Speaker 2: Yeah. Like, I'm sure you don't want to be cheated on. Yeah,
- 46:01Speaker 2: but if you cheated on you and you were like, hey,
- 46:03Speaker 2: not again, he goes, No, I promised one more tomorrow. Yeah.
- 46:06Speaker 1: It's an extreme ex And also I know it's a
- 46:08Speaker 1: tricky thing to navigate when it's drugs. But he's like,
- 46:11Speaker 1: I've got two more and then that's it. I don't
- 46:13Speaker 1: care if you have two more.
- 46:14Speaker 2: He's slowly ever, like he's very slowly breaking your trust.
- 46:17Speaker 1: Yeah, and like two more, what's that thirty dollars?
- 46:19Speaker 2: Throw them out?
- 46:20Speaker 1: Yeah, Like, I don't care if it's my relationship or
- 46:23Speaker 1: thirty dollars worth of weed. Like, I don't give a
- 46:25Speaker 1: single fuck if it was five hundred, one thousand dollars
- 46:27Speaker 1: worth of weed.
- 46:28Speaker 2: Look, yeah, you know what you want to do. I mean,
- 46:30Speaker 2: we would say no zero judgment from us if you
- 46:33Speaker 2: broke up with him, fucking off.
- 46:34Speaker 1: Yeah, if it was anything, if he told you like
- 46:38Speaker 1: he was, he would stop spending an extra hundred dollars
- 46:40Speaker 1: at work each week, and then he kept doing it,
- 46:42Speaker 1: I'll tell you the same thing.
- 46:44Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a good point.
- 46:45Speaker 1: If it was anything, it's a lying that I'm not
- 46:47Speaker 1: okay with. Not the drugs, fair, Yeah, it could be anything.
- 46:50Speaker 2: That's a good point. Yeah. Don't lie.
- 46:52Speaker 1: Yeah, don't lie. That's the first thing any man, any
- 46:54Speaker 1: person should do in a relationship. Don't last literally yeah,
- 47:00Speaker 1: literally the bare minimum. It's time for comments. If you
- 47:09Speaker 1: want to get a comment read simply comment on the
- 47:10Speaker 1: episode you are listening to. I have out of Touch
- 47:13Speaker 1: episode eight. It was a raw Dog episode. I've got two.
- 47:16Speaker 1: Sarah said, here, do you claim myself as Sarah friend
- 47:19Speaker 1: of the podcast? Bye? What's the name we should throw
- 47:23Speaker 1: out there for this week?
- 47:24Speaker 2: Oh?
- 47:25Speaker 1: Friend of the podcast? Any?
- 47:26Speaker 2: Wait? Wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait.
- 47:28Speaker 2: We met about it at the airport in Melbourne. Was
- 47:29Speaker 2: it Claire or Grace? Claire?
- 47:32Speaker 1: I'm going to act like I know Grace.
- 47:34Speaker 2: No, I'm sure it was Claire. Yeah.
- 47:36Speaker 1: I was a bit flustered. That was my excuse.
- 47:38Speaker 2: Odie had just found out he had to delay.
- 47:40Speaker 1: Yeah, let's go with any Claire's out there friend of
- 47:44Speaker 1: the podcast comment? Blow.
- 47:45Speaker 2: Yeah, al right, I got the year of no dates
- 47:49Speaker 2: again from Grace Sarah. She said, yes, events would be
- 47:55Speaker 2: so fun, even digital lives with you both for the
- 47:58Speaker 2: listeners outside Australia.
- 48:00Speaker 1: Digital lives, that'd be cool. We did like a live
- 48:02Speaker 1: show that was digital. It was like a stream.
- 48:04Speaker 2: Some live streaming events could type of events could.
- 48:07Speaker 1: Be hold between what's the difference between an event and
- 48:10Speaker 1: just and just watching a normal episode of US? What
- 48:13Speaker 1: do you mean, like if you just watched our podcast
- 48:17Speaker 1: an event, Yeah, you mean that advance is like an
- 48:20Speaker 1: in person thing.
- 48:21Speaker 2: Yeah, but a live events.
- 48:22Speaker 1: I mean we went to the Ships and Gig show.
- 48:24Speaker 1: We did that and we live stream it. Wouldn't it
- 48:26Speaker 1: just be the same as watching a show with like
- 48:28Speaker 1: a crowd making out in the background.
- 48:30Speaker 2: Yeah, but when we have an episode we were talking
- 48:32Speaker 2: about events, that's an event. But events we were talking
- 48:35Speaker 2: about was like like yoga. Yeah, like different things where
- 48:38Speaker 2: it's like, I don't know, like a like we do
- 48:40Speaker 2: a big walk with all the bad they have a
- 48:43Speaker 2: dinner or like a fucking karaoke night or something like that,
- 48:47Speaker 2: like events, you know what I mean? Like live shows? Yeah,
- 48:50Speaker 2: what could you do as an event on a live stream?
- 48:54Speaker 1: I leave it with us.
- 48:54Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 48:55Speaker 1: Something like you could do.
- 48:57Speaker 2: We could do what all the live shoamers do.
- 48:59Speaker 1: They will say that a subath on a sabbath. I
- 49:01Speaker 1: hate them. Made twenty four stay out for twenty four hours.
- 49:04Speaker 1: We could have a lumber party idea in the world.
- 49:06Speaker 2: We can do a slumber party where we set up
- 49:08Speaker 2: the studio with beds, we have a live streaming cameras
- 49:12Speaker 2: and we and we twenty four hours on live stream.
- 49:14Speaker 1: But you start, you start talking gibberish.
- 49:17Speaker 2: That's the whole point.
- 49:18Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the whole that's the whole point.
- 49:19Speaker 2: Twenty four hour live stream in the studio.
- 49:21Speaker 1: Yeah, we don't leave if you if you get twenty
- 49:24Speaker 1: four thousand and five stars, I'll do it because I
- 49:26Speaker 1: don't want.
- 49:27Speaker 2: To do it on twenty four five stars. Also bad
- 49:34Speaker 2: is if you get to if we get to two
- 49:35Speaker 2: thousand paid patrons on Patreon, I'm going to have a
- 49:40Speaker 2: tarantula crawl on me.
- 49:41Speaker 1: Yeah, he will, and I think his mind later, I'm
- 49:44Speaker 1: going to share my ass.
- 49:45Speaker 2: No, you're on you're on a journey, but he's on
- 49:47Speaker 2: a journey. Yeah, to grow his ass because he says
- 49:49Speaker 2: he can't, but he just needs with the work in. Yeah,
- 49:52Speaker 2: I put like a.
- 49:52Speaker 1: Solid two works in, two works, two weeks in. God,
- 49:58Speaker 1: all right, it's time for one of you bad used
- 50:00Speaker 1: to sign off the episode. If you want to get
- 50:01Speaker 1: called by us, click the link in the description. Jake,
- 50:04Speaker 1: who we gotta call Michayla?

- 50:13Speaker 1: I'm good out.
- 50:14Speaker 2: Here, doing really gonna got audio with me.
- 50:17Speaker 1: Mikayla, My god, you guys.
- 50:21Speaker 2: Do you guys call me yesterday? Yeah? Yeah, call pop
- 50:26Speaker 2: up on my phone and I was like, I don't

- 50:28Speaker 1: I'm not answering it.
- 50:36Speaker 2: So we're calling you to see if you can sign

- 50:48Speaker 2: baddies should sign up to Patreon.

- 50:55Speaker 2: Thank you very much. Oh good guy, love God, thank
- 50:59Speaker 2: you having.
- 50:59Speaker 1: Good bye bye. You heard it here first, battie sign
- 51:05Speaker 1: up for Patreon. We love you, stay bad Ooh thank
- 51:19Speaker 1: you for sticking around, baddies. If you're still here, you
- 51:22Speaker 1: are a real one. And for sticking around, We're going
- 51:25Speaker 1: to give you a little exclusive access to a segment
- 51:28Speaker 1: that's coming out on Patreon this coming Thursday, and it's
- 51:33Speaker 1: all book Club related. And the only thing I'm going
- 51:36Speaker 1: to say is if you love the book Club before
- 51:40Speaker 1: and you love Sarah J. Mass, I might be thinking
- 51:44Speaker 1: about getting a Patreon membership because we're about to turn
- 51:47Speaker 1: up over there. We're not going to forget about you
- 51:50Speaker 1: guys who like the free episodes, but it's definitely going
- 51:53Speaker 1: to be a lot better over there. But please enjoy
- 51:57Speaker 1: a little bit of chat from Patreon nine a month.
- 52:03Speaker 2: Okay, bad is with obviously the wonderful announcement of Akatar
- 52:07Speaker 2: six and seven coming out. I had stumbled across this post.
- 52:14Speaker 2: It says, since Akatar six has been announced, tell me
- 52:17Speaker 2: your most unhinged theory or opinion, right, And they said,
- 52:22Speaker 2: I don't want to hear just like you know, Elaine
- 52:24Speaker 2: and Azriel together because that's boring. See that coming if
- 52:28Speaker 2: I'm here for this. Okay, listen to this. Bryaxis is
- 52:32Speaker 2: inside Elaine and has been ever since the last battle
- 52:38Speaker 2: where she stabbed the king or number B and so
- 52:45Speaker 2: Briaxis wasn't asking Fay for a literal window. This is
- 52:49Speaker 2: still on the same one, but a way to see
- 52:51Speaker 2: into the world, and who better to use than the
- 52:54Speaker 2: eyes of a seer. Elaine will eventually befriend Fear itself, that.
- 53:00Speaker 1: Is, I'm telling you everybody at so much better and
- 53:03Speaker 1: forth with. I'm just thinking like I forgot about like
- 53:07Speaker 1: Bria Axis and stuff. Everything is such a good.
- 53:10Speaker 2: Axis is gone still likes just a.
- 53:12Speaker 1: Bit that didn't make sense. We had a few rebuttals
- 53:14Speaker 1: with that.
- 53:15Speaker 2: Yeah, but I mean, I guess it's gonna make sense.
- 53:17Speaker 2: Like Braxics is on the loose, and also with a
- 53:19Speaker 2: woman that's a great theory, Praxiss woman. Another one, bray
- 53:23Speaker 2: Axis is hunting the men who hurt the librarians one
- 53:26Speaker 2: by one. That'd be cool, I don't acting. But also like,
- 53:29Speaker 2: I just don't see that being like not that no
- 53:32Speaker 2: one cares about the librarians, but also the only librarian
- 53:36Speaker 2: that we care there's only two that we care about it.
- 53:38Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, all right, this.
- 53:41Speaker 2: One's kind of cool. Tamlin dies no with no Air
- 53:47Speaker 2: to the spring Court, makes Lucian high Lord and Elaine
- 53:51Speaker 2: and Lucian end up in the spring Court where she
- 53:53Speaker 2: can grow her flowers. Bit the last part.
- 53:57Speaker 1: I don't think Tamlin will die. I think you do.
- 53:59Speaker 1: I yeah, sah, you didn't listen to the podcast to do.
- 54:02Speaker 2: I haven't. I don't want because I'm reading some glass.
- 54:05Speaker 1: Yeah, we're both about to read it.
- 54:07Speaker 2: Did you get any spoilers from it?
- 54:09Speaker 1: Nah? I told you. I told you, like they you
- 54:14Speaker 1: might know now, but there was no like there's a
- 54:16Speaker 1: thirty second reference to it and they say something that
- 54:18Speaker 1: happens in like the third book, and you're like, I
- 54:20Speaker 1: don't understand what's going on.
- 54:21Speaker 2: Okay, okay, But.
- 54:23Speaker 1: Where I was going with it was Sarah, friend of
- 54:28Speaker 1: the podcast s j Mass, she's a friend of the
- 54:33Speaker 1: Plod guy, spoke about Tamlin in a way where he
- 54:40Speaker 1: will show some good signs but it will never be
- 54:43Speaker 1: good again. But it didn't seem like he's going to die.
- 54:46Speaker 2: So he's basically I did see some clips where it's
- 54:48Speaker 2: like she kind of talks about how Tamlin is a
- 54:51Speaker 2: very damaged yeah Faye person, and so I assume she
- 54:59Speaker 2: can she's going to keep it that way, like he's
- 55:00Speaker 2: going to try.
- 55:02Speaker 1: But one thing I didn't necessarily understand or agree with.
- 55:06Speaker 1: I guess I don't know if agrees the white word
- 55:08Speaker 1: is she said that, like a lot of people, Tamlin
- 55:14Speaker 1: was used as like a depiction of their partners of
- 55:17Speaker 1: being a toxic, controlling partner, and she didn't want to
- 55:20Speaker 1: make him good for that reason, because she didn't want
- 55:22Speaker 1: to say that these men could become good if they
- 55:24Speaker 1: are toxic in real life. And I was like, that's
- 55:26Speaker 1: a great point, but Also, it's fantasy.
- 55:29Speaker 2: That's true fairy. I always wanted to like, do it
- 55:33Speaker 2: do authors feel some sort of responsibility?
- 55:35Speaker 1: It sounded like she had some sort of responsibility.
- 55:38Speaker 2: That makes sense. Okay, more is not fae, but the
- 55:45Speaker 2: Triple Goddess her painting in the cabin. So now I've
- 55:50Speaker 2: feel maybe Triple Goddess is reference to any of the
- 55:53Speaker 2: Crescent City author Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, that could right now.
- 55:57Speaker 2: Also from the same person. Lucian is Tamla in disguise,
- 56:02Speaker 2: and Lucian is Tamlin stuck in his beast form. That's
- 56:06Speaker 2: why he can't shift out of it. Tamlin easy, Elaine's made,
- 56:09Speaker 2: not Lucian.
- 56:11Speaker 1: Oh, that would be so many people.
- 56:13Speaker 2: So many people think Tamlin and Elaine are made it.
- 56:16Speaker 1: Yeah, but Tamlin and Lucian have been in the same
- 56:18Speaker 1: room all.
- 56:19Speaker 2: The time, exactly. Yeah, that's what I don't understand. So
- 56:22Speaker 2: I just don't think that makes any sense.
- 56:23Speaker 1: That'd be cool, I don't think. I don't know. I
- 56:25Speaker 1: feel like Elaine the right the way it's written is
- 56:27Speaker 1: obviously good in empowering women. I don't think it's gonna
- 56:30Speaker 1: have I think Elaine is going to find her own journey.
- 56:32Speaker 2: I agree, same as Nesta. I also think that she's
- 56:37Speaker 2: not gonna end up with Asrael.
- 56:38Speaker 1: No, I don't think so either. I hope not. I don't.
- 56:40Speaker 1: I think that would be too fitting all of them.
- 56:44Speaker 2: Asrael. Remember that chapter, the secret chapter in that book
- 56:46Speaker 2: where Azrael's like putting a necklace on. I wants to
- 56:48Speaker 2: kiss her, And then Reese is like, don't you.
- 56:50Speaker 1: Want more Azuel? But he's kind of boring.
- 56:52Speaker 2: I love Azuel, but he's also so boring. Hot take,
- 56:55Speaker 2: He's not fun to read. A hot take. Zayden's My
- 56:58Speaker 2: Shadow Daddy is.
- 57:00Speaker 1: Yeah, but also it's unfair because like there's three books
- 57:03Speaker 1: written about Zen and it's not even one true.
- 57:05Speaker 2: It's got like Hella Monel, Yeah, and a Israel has
- 57:08Speaker 2: like three sentences of monologue.
- 57:10Speaker 1: Mysteriousness is what makes him cool.
- 57:12Speaker 2: Okay. Recent Favor's bargain is quote, when we leave this world,
- 57:17Speaker 2: we leave it together. One of them is going to
- 57:19Speaker 2: world walk and the other is going to be forced
- 57:22Speaker 2: to follow to fulfill their bargain.
- 57:24Speaker 1: What is world walking?
- 57:24Speaker 2: I assume that means they're going to transport somewhere, teleport
- 57:27Speaker 2: somewhere to a different universe.
- 57:28Speaker 1: That's cool. But are they having a kid?
- 57:30Speaker 2: Yeah, debunked, debanked de barked. I need Lucian to know
- 57:36Speaker 2: who his daddy is. For starters, we know whose daddy is.
- 57:40Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, high Lord of the Summer Courts. Yeah,
- 57:42Speaker 2: that's sexy beast AnyWho. Okay, Okay, this one's crazy. It's
- 57:49Speaker 2: not going to happen Cassie and dies. I'd be devo. Yeah,
- 57:53Speaker 2: Nesta and as trauma bond over his death and fall
- 57:56Speaker 2: in love.
- 57:56Speaker 1: Oh shit, that would be crazy. No way, do I
- 58:01Speaker 1: have any predictions Off the top of my head, I
- 58:03Speaker 1: think this book will be I reckon, it's still going
- 58:08Speaker 1: to be Reese Farr and their child, and their child's
- 58:10Speaker 1: going to have like complications of like still having a
- 58:13Speaker 1: bit of human in him.
- 58:15Speaker 2: Also, okay, so you think this next book's not going
- 58:17Speaker 2: to be a Lane.
- 58:17Speaker 1: No, I do reckon the way she spoke, I think
- 58:20Speaker 1: there's more to come.
- 58:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like there's so much more story from
- 58:23Speaker 2: recent Farr. But also at the same time, like, even
- 58:25Speaker 2: though they have a kid and they're going to navigate that, like,
- 58:28Speaker 2: where could the story go? In my opinion, I feel
- 58:31Speaker 2: like I in my opinion, there was some things that
- 58:35Speaker 2: there's definitely threads left, just like out in the open,
- 58:40Speaker 2: you know, Tea's not crossed in eyes and not dotted.
- 58:43Speaker 2: But it's almost like the series could have ended at
- 58:48Speaker 2: at Aka war, you know what I mean? And not
- 58:51Speaker 2: that I'm not saying like she's just doing it for
- 58:54Speaker 2: money or anything. Like obviously you want to hear about Nessa.
- 58:56Speaker 2: I like hearing about these other characters, but like I'm
- 58:59Speaker 2: just trying to think where would it be going?
- 59:02Speaker 1: There would be another like.
- 59:04Speaker 2: What threat could there be where it's like you just
- 59:05Speaker 2: have to completely make up a new one, Like there'll.
- 59:08Speaker 1: Be something along the line. Yeah, there'd be something along
- 59:10Speaker 1: the lines of like a new stone or a new crown.
- 59:12Speaker 1: Someone's taken something brought someone back.
- 59:15Speaker 2: There was the thing about that sword.
- 59:17Speaker 1: Yeah, sword, and didn't they give they gave a sword to?
- 59:22Speaker 1: Oh no, Yeah, who's Lucian's brother againn't him? I forgot?
- 59:26Speaker 2: I gave him a knife blade? Ris Are's got one
- 59:29Speaker 2: of those blades that had imbued.
- 59:30Speaker 1: There's something that's gone on there.
- 59:33Speaker 2: I'm keen for the series and I want I want
- 59:35Speaker 2: to finish.
- 59:35Speaker 1: I think it will be a lot of Lucian his story,
- 59:38Speaker 1: which I'm keen for I like I like Lucian, and I.
- 59:40Speaker 2: Really want to finish Crescent I would like to read
- 59:42Speaker 2: for Crescent City before it too, even though apparently Crescent
- 59:44Speaker 2: City is a grind according to some people.
- 59:47Speaker 1: On that point, baddies, I know some of you are
- 59:51Speaker 1: probably screaming at your phones or your TV saying, bring
- 59:54Speaker 1: back book Club, Bring back book Club. And we're willing
- 59:58Speaker 1: to do it. We've thrown of glass, but we need
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: something from you. We don't normally ask for much, but
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: this time we are put your money where your mouth is.
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: We would like eight thousand and five star reviews on Spotify.
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: And I know probably everyone listens like, I've already done it.
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: I've already done it.
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: It's at six point six.
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: This is what I want you to do, six point seven,
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: I think six point actually six point eight. Get your
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: mum's phone, get your dad's phone, get your sister's phone,
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: get your brother's phone. Five star, five star. And when
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: we hit eight thousand, you will see an episode released.
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: Oh dang. Also, we're going to give the Patroon baddies
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: fucking like Hella advanced.
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: Yeah, you need something special.
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: Big ass is done.
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: If it happens.
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: If it happens.
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: Yeah, plans, yeah, because we lost. I think a lot
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: of people respected it because like at the end of
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: the day, we want to put out content which we
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: love to do because it becomes a better listen, not
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: force it. And we're coming up with a strategy which
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: makes reading fun not like a job like we have
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: to do it. And then also us talking is fun
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: and enjoyable. It's not like to structure.
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: No, yeah, I agree, let's do it.
