Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
• 0:03
Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to pick up
• 0:06
where we left off with the Leslie Groff interview with
• 0:11
Congress question by mister Krishna Morthy. Now, thank you. I'm
• 0:19
Raja Christina Morthy from Illinois. Look. I presume that if
• 0:22
Jeffrey Epstein ever asked you to arrange a massage with
• 0:25
an underage person or a minor, you would have objected,
• 0:28
right Ms Groff, Yes, question. And I also presume that
• 0:33
if Epstein asked you to contact a minor or underage
• 0:35
person to set up an appointment, you would have said
• 0:38
something or objected right. Answer absolutely, chrysnal Morti. Okay, let
• 0:45
me introduce you to Exhibit G. Can you please share
• 0:47
that with miss Groff. I'll just show you a couple
• 0:50
of emails that we found that have your name on
• 0:52
them and they're with a couple of different people. I'm
• 0:55
going to direct your attention to the first page of
• 0:57
the stack. It has the Bates number EFTA and it
• 1:01
ends with it's our one zero zero seven four four
• 1:05
two seven zero and it says from Leslie Groff to redacted, Hello,
• 1:11
redacted hope you're having a nice weekend. Jeffrey will be
• 1:14
in town on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and would like
• 1:17
to see you. Might you have some time, please let
• 1:19
me know, Leslie. Question you see that right at the
• 1:23
bottom of the chain, Graf. Uh huh question Okay, and
• 1:27
then redacted response, dear Leslie, thank you for your email.
• 1:30
What about tomorrow evening? Would you have some time? You
• 1:34
see that email, right, Graf yes, question and then you respond, Actually,
• 1:39
Tuesday evening work for you? Anytime after six pm? You
• 1:43
see that email, right, Graf, I do question. And then
• 1:46
the last email in the chain Tuesday, I'm at school
• 1:49
till ten pm. We have orchestra rehearsal for the concert
• 1:53
on Friday. Now, at that moment when you receive that email,
• 1:57
did you believe that this person was not an underage
• 1:59
person or a minor? Graf. I would not have suspected
• 2:03
at all that this would be an underage person or
• 2:06
a minor. Krishnal Morthy. So it's your testimony today that
• 2:10
you would have not suspected that this person is an
• 2:12
underage person or a minor. When that person responds that
• 2:16
they have orchestra rehearsal in the evening in your response
• 2:19
to your question about whether they're available, right, that's your testimony, Graf. Yes,
• 2:24
kryshnal Morthy, and you're under oath Graff. Yes. And look
• 2:28
not for me to jump in here and give Epstein
• 2:30
any kind of defense. But what if that woman that
• 2:33
they're talking about, or a girl, was in college and
• 2:36
she was of age. Now, look that doesn't matter if
• 2:38
she was being abused, right, But we have to be
• 2:41
particular and we have to make sure that we're using
• 2:44
the right terminology and we're putting people in the right categories.
• 2:52
Krishnal Morthy. Let me just turn your attention to another
• 2:55
page in the document, which is another email. Okay, it
• 2:58
has bait stamp. It's the third page in the stack
• 3:01
EFTA underscore R one zero zero six one five eight
• 3:06
five eight. Do you see that, ms Graff, I do,
• 3:09
kryshnal morty. Okay, let me start this text this email
• 3:12
chain again. It says, and this is from Monday December.
• 3:16
I'm sorry, Sunday December thirteenth at six oh five pm,
• 3:20
twenty fourteen, twenty fifteen, So fourteen years into your tenure,
• 3:25
Hi redacted, Jeffrey will be in New York this week
• 3:28
and is asking if you could come see him on
• 3:30
Tuesday after work five thirty. Do you see that? Ms? Groff?
• 3:34
Uh huh question okay? Redacted or response, Hello, Leslie, I
• 3:39
have school Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Do you see that?
• 3:42
You respond? Uh? Okay? How about tomorrow day? Do you
• 3:45
see that? Graff? I do questions? Miss Groff? She says,
• 3:50
I'm working eight thirty to five thirty and school six
• 3:53
to nine. At that moment when you saw that, it's
• 3:55
your testimony that you did not believe that this person
• 3:58
was either underage or a minor. Correct Miss Groff, correct
• 4:03
question okay, and you respond you're a busy girl. I'll
• 4:06
let Jeffrey know. Thanks. So it's your testimony that when
• 4:10
you're sending out these emails and people respond to you
• 4:12
that they're in school or that they have orchestra rehearsal,
• 4:15
that you believe that they're not a miner or an
• 4:17
underage person. That is your testimony today, right, Miss Groff,
• 4:21
That is correct. Krishnal Morty, you're under oath, Miss Groff, Yes,
• 4:25
that is correct. Chrysnal Morthy. You want us to believe
• 4:29
that after eighteen years working in the employ of mister Epstein.
• 4:32
That not on one occasion did you believe that any
• 4:35
of your contacts in setting up these appointments with Jeffrey
• 4:38
Epstein were with either a miner or an underage person. Correct,
• 4:42
Miss Groff, That is correct, krishnal Morthy, And that we
• 4:46
should believe that it was reasonable for you to think
• 4:49
that none of these people were under age, Miss Groff.
• 4:52
That is correct, krishnal Morty. Okay, this strange credibility, Miss Graff,
• 4:56
I yield back. Garcia, thank you, Miss Groff. I have
• 4:59
a up questions. I just want to go back real
• 5:02
briefly to something that my colleague just said. So these
• 5:05
conversations that he pointed out for these emails, they happened
• 5:08
after Epstein's conviction. Is that correct? Answer? Correct question. So
• 5:13
it never crossed your mind after a conviction of an
• 5:16
obviously very horrific crime against an underage woman, that these
• 5:19
interactions that you were having with other women that were
• 5:22
talking about school orchestra practice never raised any concern to you,
• 5:27
Miss Groff. No, Garcia, So not once were you concerned
• 5:31
after knowing that Jeffrey Epstein was convicted of abuse of
• 5:33
a minor, that you had any sort of concerns that
• 5:36
you were having conversations with other women who were talking
• 5:39
about school and orchestra practice. Is that correct? Is that
• 5:42
your testimony? Ms Groff, that's my testimony. I never saw
• 5:46
anything inappropriate, Miss Whitcombs, she answered the question ms Groff. Yes,
• 5:50
mister Garcia, you never saw anything. But Jeffrey had been
• 5:54
convicted already and you knew that information, correct, ms Groff,
• 5:58
I did question. Okay, I just want to go back
• 6:01
to something else, Thank you, so, mims Groff, I just
• 6:04
want to go back to something that was asked earlier.
• 6:06
I know you had mentioned that you had arranged multiple
• 6:09
phone conversations with Donald Trump, not the president yet of course,
• 6:12
and mister Epstein. And then just for the record, again,
• 6:16
you did connect them by phone a few times, correct,
• 6:19
miss Groff? Correct? Question was that more than five times?
• 6:23
More than ten times? Do you have any idea how
• 6:25
many times you connected them by phone? Ms Groff. I
• 6:28
don't know how often I connected them. There would be
• 6:31
I said once a quarter maybe, or twice. If Epstein
• 6:34
was in town and he wanted to speak to mister Trump,
• 6:37
it might take me four or five times. To get
• 6:39
the two of them on the phone. But I don't
• 6:41
know how often that really occurred, miss Garcia. Mister Garcia,
• 6:45
and it's safe to say that you could have done
• 6:47
it multiple times a year, Graff, Yes question, Okay, so
• 6:51
multiple times a year over a period of ten years.
• 6:54
Ms Graff, Yeah, I don't really recall when they stopped talking, Garcia.
• 7:00
And then did you also arrange any meetings between mister
• 7:03
Epstein and mister Trump separate of just phone calls? Miss Groff,
• 7:06
it's possible. I don't recall anything offhand, mister Garcia, Okay,
• 7:10
but it's possible that you could have arranged meetings, but
• 7:12
you don't recall if there was a meeting. Did you
• 7:15
arrange any services from mister Trump that mister Epstein was
• 7:18
providing separate of a phone call or a meeting? Ms Groff,
• 7:21
no question. Would you characterize our friendship as a friendship? Answer?
• 7:26
I really don't know what the relationship was. I didn't
• 7:29
hear them speaking. I don't know, Garcia, because Epstein has
• 7:32
characterized it as a friendship. In fact, mister Epstein said
• 7:36
that he considered them actually best friends for a period
• 7:39
of ten years. Have you heard that in the media
• 7:41
or anything else before. Ms Groff, I have not questioned
• 7:45
and Miss Groff, earlier, when we ask you about mister
• 7:48
Epstein's relationship with Les Wexner, you were willing to provide
• 7:51
your opinion that there were friends as well as business partners.
• 7:55
So to the Congressman's question, how would you characterize a
• 7:58
relationship of mister Trump and Epstein, Miss Graff, I mean,
• 8:02
I suppose they were friendly. I don't know if they
• 8:04
had any business going on. That wasn't something that I asked.
• 8:08
That's not something I discussed with mister Epstein or mister Trump,
• 8:12
So I don't really know. It's possible that they were friendly, Garcia,
• 8:16
even though you connected them multiple times a year by
• 8:19
phone and possibly for meetings that you're not aware of, correct, Graf, Yes,
• 8:24
I don't know what they discussed or what the meetings
• 8:26
were for. It's possible they were friendly. It's possible they
• 8:29
spoke business. I don't know what it's about, Garcia. Did
• 8:33
you ever see a photo of mister Epstein and mister
• 8:35
Trump on mister Epstein's desk, Graf, I don't know. Question
• 8:39
you don't because I know you worked right outside of
• 8:41
his office, Graef, I did question, did you oftentimes go
• 8:45
inside mister Epstein's office, Graf. I would go in his
• 8:48
office after he would leave to pick up the garbage
• 8:50
that he threw on the floor and put it in
• 8:52
the trash can. I didn't go in there very often, Garcia.
• 8:56
But after working for him for eighteen years, in a
• 8:58
different period of time, in different locations, you don't recall
• 9:01
what photos may have been on his desk, Miss Groff.
• 9:05
It's been too long ago. I don't know. He did
• 9:07
have photos of important people on his desk with them
• 9:10
and important people, mister Garcia, but you never heard it
• 9:13
reported that he had a photo. I mean, it's been
• 9:15
widely reported by every major news outlet that he had
• 9:19
a photo of President Trump on his desk. I know
• 9:22
that you worked in his office. You don't recall or
• 9:24
never heard that there was a photo of President Trump
• 9:27
on his desk. Groff. It's very possible that there was,
• 9:30
but I don't recall seeing an actual photo per se
• 9:33
with mister Trump, Garcia, and don't recall hearing in the
• 9:37
media apparently, right, Miss Groff, I don't question, okay, no,
• 9:40
I appreciate that. Are you familiar with the birthday book?
• 9:43
That was provided to mister Ebstein for his birthday. That's
• 9:46
been widely reported, Miss Groff. I am now after his
• 9:50
death and I've heard about that. Yes, Garcia, but during
• 9:54
your employment, you were not involved or aware or made
• 9:57
any sort of inquiries about the book at the time,
• 10:00
Miss Maxwell. Project, Is that correct? Groff? Correct? From what
• 10:03
I understand? Question and you have no information about the
• 10:06
book or its creation? Answer that is correct. Question. Would
• 10:10
it be possible at the time Miss Maxwell's assistant or
• 10:13
anyone else you think could have been involved in the
• 10:15
process of that book besides miss Maxwell Groff, I don't know.
• 10:19
It's possible she could have had an assistant help her
• 10:22
with something, but I don't know. I wasn't involved in that,
• 10:25
but it wouldn't be unlikely that someone might have been
• 10:27
helping her. Question just last before I turn it back,
• 10:31
I just want to go back because I think it's
• 10:32
an important point that's been brought up. You know, it's
• 10:36
difficult to understand how, after knowing what Jeffrey Epstein had
• 10:39
done and up to a minor that you would continue
• 10:42
to set up appointments with other young women, other women
• 10:45
to mister Epstein and not ever once doubt that there
• 10:48
could be something happening in those moments. You never thought that,
• 10:54
you completely regardless of what happened. Again, I'll give you
• 10:56
another opportunity to explain it, but you never once had
• 10:59
any debt out that there could be something there happening
• 11:02
to these women, Miss Groff. At the time, I felt
• 11:05
like everyone in the office he was lying to, and
• 11:08
he was a very good liar and a very good manipulator,
• 11:10
and he brushed things under the rug. He led me
• 11:13
to believe that the accusations were false. And when I
• 11:17
looked around, everybody who was so smart, all his business associates,
• 11:21
all his Garcia continue Groff, Yeah, all his associates remain
• 11:25
friends with them, you know, kept meeting with them, et cetera. Garcia,
• 11:31
Ms Groff. You also admit, though, that you know he
• 11:33
pleaded guilty, Miss Groff. Yes, Garcia, so he pleaded guilty,
• 11:38
that he was guilty of the crime. Yet you still
• 11:40
didn't believe that, Plea Groff. I believe that he was tricked.
• 11:44
It was something. It was not his fault. It was
• 11:46
tricked and it was a big scheme. Garcia. Okay, thank you,
• 11:52
thank you, miss Groff. We will stop here for clarity
• 11:55
for the record. We had questions from Representative Bell and
• 11:58
also representative of Talib who did previously who didn't previously
• 12:03
introduce themselves into the record. We'll now go off the record,
• 12:06
all right, So that means we're gonna wrap up as well,
• 12:10
and in the next episode dealing with the topic, we're
• 12:12
gonna pick up where we left off. All the information
• 12:15
that goes with this episode can be found in the
• 12:18
  description box.
