- 0:17Speaker 2: Fox Sports Radio.
- 0:27Speaker 1: I see a smile on Mikeya's face. Was it the
- 0:30Speaker 1: customized dope in? What did it for you? Yeah? Just
- 0:34Speaker 1: filling in for Collins.
- 0:35Speaker 3: Wasn't I was expecting you to start with, Oh, it's
- 0:38Speaker 3: the Herd.
- 0:42Speaker 1: I was thinking about it. I really was Israel. Goodie
- 0:46Speaker 1: areas at Taylor back in Miami, Mike eat Connecticut. I
- 0:49Speaker 1: am at Syracuse, New York at the new House School
- 0:52Speaker 1: of Broadcasting. Sean McDonough, a proud alum of Syracuse University,
- 0:57Speaker 1: get to join us coming up at twelve to twenty five,
- 1:00Speaker 1: is he? I don't belong here. I have done shows
- 1:03Speaker 1: happening from the Medill School at Northwestern I have a
- 1:07Speaker 1: key to that building, and now I'm at the new
- 1:09Speaker 1: House School of Broadcasting and legends have graduated from this place.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Legends like Sean McDonough, like Marv Albert, like Kenny Albert,
- 1:18Speaker 1: like I an Eagle. I don't belong here, and so
- 1:21Speaker 1: but I this is funny, is he? I was thinking
- 1:24Speaker 1: about this. Had I gone to a school like this, man,
- 1:27Speaker 1: would I be good at broadcasting? Oh? My god, the
- 1:30Speaker 1: facility's here.
- 1:32Speaker 4: Oh, just because of the facilities, I was gonna say, are.
- 1:35Speaker 1: You sure the teachers? Yeah? You know. I don't really
- 1:39Speaker 1: know what's happening today.
- 1:40Speaker 4: It feels like a throwback Thursday on a Friday, because
- 1:45Speaker 4: I was at home earlier and I saw Skip Bayless
- 1:48Speaker 4: on first take with stephen A, and I.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Was like, that's weird.
- 1:52Speaker 4: And then it's me effectively kind of working with Colin
- 1:55Speaker 4: again like we did in the ESPN days.
- 1:57Speaker 1: That's weird.
- 1:57Speaker 4: The amount of times that I was on what's the
- 2:00Speaker 4: segment spanning the Globe? I mean, I felt like I
- 2:02Speaker 4: was a regular on College's old show. Yeah, and then yeah,
- 2:06Speaker 4: you walk in here and like, I don't know what's
- 2:07Speaker 4: going on. Taylor's wearing a Miami Dolphins shirt. It's very confusing.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Why are you wearing a Dolphin shirt? Taylor?
- 2:14Speaker 3: Just a laundry day, I had this shirt. So I
- 2:16Speaker 3: was Mac Collins's roommate in college. So I really just
- 2:19Speaker 3: cheer for whatever team Mac Collins is on and throughout
- 2:22Speaker 3: the years, I've collected a lot of teams gears, the Raiders,
- 2:27Speaker 3: the Dolphins, the Patriots, now the Bills, stint with the Falcons.
- 2:31Speaker 3: This just happened to This was just in the rotation.
- 2:35Speaker 1: It was the only available shirt, is what you're saying, basically,
- 2:38Speaker 1: because the rest is in the laundry, right, I mean.
- 2:40Speaker 3: Correct, it wasn't the only available shirt, but it was
- 2:43Speaker 3: one of the last few remaining shirts.
- 2:46Speaker 4: You know what's do And sometimes even that, right there
- 2:49Speaker 4: as a sign Like sometimes you wake up in the
- 2:51Speaker 4: day and it's just like there's a sign your day's
- 2:53Speaker 4: going to be bad. And I kind of knew today
- 2:55Speaker 4: maybe not bad, but weird because I woke up this
- 2:58Speaker 4: morning and my water floss exploded in my face.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Wow.
- 3:03Speaker 4: And does your day ever really start well when it's
- 3:06Speaker 4: something exploded in your face? Put that on the pole,
- 3:08Speaker 4: tailor does your day ever start well when something explodes
- 3:11Speaker 4: in your face?
- 3:12Speaker 1: Here's what I'll tell you. It could only get better though,
- 3:15Speaker 1: that's it. I mean, it could only get better from there, right.
- 3:18Speaker 4: Well, then it got immediately worse because yeah, I mean,
- 3:22Speaker 4: I don't know how many people experience this but probably
- 3:24Speaker 4: a lot.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Uh.
- 3:25Speaker 4: I got to the gym and I was the least
- 3:28Speaker 4: fit person in the room, and it made me very angry.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Welcome to my life, like all of our lives.
- 3:35Speaker 4: I was like, at least I can go to my getaway,
- 3:38Speaker 4: you know, my place, or I don't have to think.
- 3:40Speaker 4: And I walk in and it's like, I don't know,
- 3:43Speaker 4: a fitness show, just like a muscle lifting show, and
- 3:45Speaker 4: I'm just like, what is going on today?
- 3:47Speaker 3: I was gonna ask who's in the room? Adonis and Robot.
- 3:52Speaker 1: It was two people that I had to ask.
- 3:54Speaker 4: Once they left, I was like, are those two Florida
- 3:56Speaker 4: Panthers players that I don't recognize?
- 3:57Speaker 1: Because that's ridiculous? Is he call me? When you're the
- 4:02Speaker 1: least fit person that walks into a McDonald that's what
- 4:06Speaker 1: you feel bad for? Exactly? You went Rocky there? Is
- 4:11Speaker 1: that what you did? Taylor? Rocky Balboa?
- 4:14Speaker 3: Yeah, Adonna's apollo Creed's son, so I went a little
- 4:17Speaker 3: Creed too.
- 4:18Speaker 1: No, I realized that Adonna's was perfect. It's the Rocky Balboa.
- 4:22Speaker 1: I'm questioning Rocky for perhaps Rocky four he was Chisel.
- 4:28Speaker 1: I mean, listen, you go to Siberia and you work out,
- 4:32Speaker 1: you're trying to take down Drago. That's the best shape
- 4:34Speaker 1: STALLONEA has ever been in. I'm serious. It's the greatest
- 4:37Speaker 1: workout seed in the history of movies period. End of discussion.
- 4:42Speaker 1: It's just him and the elements. How about that?
- 4:45Speaker 4: And getting back to your your points to if you
- 4:48Speaker 4: went to Syracuse, I think you would still be this
- 4:51Speaker 4: level of successful broadcasting, which is wildly successful.
- 4:55Speaker 1: No, I've had a great ride, considering that I have
- 4:58Speaker 1: no schooling. In this a great ride. I'm just imagining
- 5:01Speaker 1: what kind of ride I would have had had I
- 5:04Speaker 1: had actual schooling. If I had facilities like this and
- 5:08Speaker 1: I had great teachers in a great alumni base that
- 5:10Speaker 1: I could work, how much better the career. But I
- 5:14Speaker 1: would say it's nearly impossible to top the career that
- 5:17Speaker 1: I've had doing this for over forty years. I replaced
- 5:20Speaker 1: Colin Well, I'm not gonna let replace right Well, listen,
- 5:25Speaker 1: I mean he left. He was doing ten to one
- 5:28Speaker 1: at ESPN. We were doing afternoons he left. We took
- 5:31Speaker 1: over that slot, and I do remember saying on the
- 5:34Speaker 1: air I was trying because I wanted ten to one.
- 5:37Speaker 1: I think that's the best slot in radio, especially for
- 5:41Speaker 1: national radio, because stations taking inside the business here local
- 5:46Speaker 1: stations want to run their morning and afternoon drive. Where
- 5:48Speaker 1: you get the clearance is in the middays. Plus you're done.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Your day is done at one o'clock. And so I
- 5:54Speaker 1: remember going out of my way telling Colin on the air,
- 5:59Speaker 1: not directly to a although I know Colin and I've
- 6:01Speaker 1: spoken to him. I remember saying trying to convince him
- 6:06Speaker 1: to leave ESPN Radio, not because it was good for him,
- 6:09Speaker 1: but because it was good for me. And I'm sure
- 6:16Speaker 1: happy now. And then what he did. I immediately and
- 6:20Speaker 1: we took over ten to one. I changed all my
- 6:23Speaker 1: fantasy teams to two pm t tot. How about that?
- 6:27Speaker 4: And I'm sure he's so happy somewhere as we're starting off,
- 6:29Speaker 4: filling in for him that we're going deep inside radio
- 6:32Speaker 4: right to start.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Yes, Is he okay? By the way, Colin loves to
- 6:35Speaker 1: go deep inside radio. He does. He's talking about the
- 6:38Speaker 1: industry and the business. Yeah, is Colin okay? There was
- 6:41Speaker 1: like he was transportation. There was an accident. You know.
- 6:45Speaker 1: We we failed to make the joke yesterday when we
- 6:47Speaker 1: found out he was supposed to join us, that Colin
- 6:50Speaker 1: heard the news that we were filling in and he
- 6:52Speaker 1: drove his car off the road.
- 6:55Speaker 3: So I believe Colin was on a train yesterday. Okay,
- 6:58Speaker 3: he takes a train to his car, but Colin Colin
- 7:01Speaker 3: is okay, this was already a scheduled off day. The
- 7:05Speaker 3: hiccup yesterday was I believe his train hit a car
- 7:10Speaker 3: or a car hit his train, and then Colin had
- 7:14Speaker 3: to get an uber from said train station and he
- 7:17Speaker 3: was gonna miss the time that he was supposed to join.
- 7:20Speaker 3: But that's neither here nor there. He was never supposed
- 7:21Speaker 3: to be in today regardless. But I'm curious how his
- 7:25Speaker 3: listeners are listening to the show and these guys are
- 7:27Speaker 3: ever gonna get to basketball?
- 7:29Speaker 1: Hey, hame on, We're gonna get that come to the
- 7:32Speaker 1: herd for We're gonna get to Sean McDonough in a
- 7:36Speaker 1: couple of minutes. We will get to basketball right now.
- 7:38Speaker 1: In fact, Jason ep Jason back at Sherman Oaks. If
- 7:41Speaker 1: we have that Draymond Green sound again, uh when he
- 7:44Speaker 1: was on the set with Charles Barkley. I want to
- 7:46Speaker 1: play it for the audience. I want to ask Israel
- 7:48Speaker 1: gudieiras a question A difficult a tricky question for Israel.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Gooudyera is coming up after we play this out. Here's
- 7:56Speaker 1: Draymond Green on the set of T and T with
- 7:59Speaker 1: Charles Barkley. Sports are for young people.
- 8:02Speaker 5: You hope to have a great, long career, but sports.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Nobody wins when they're thirty seven, thirty eight.
- 8:09Speaker 5: That you said what you said, I didn't want to
- 8:11Speaker 5: hear if he believes what you're talking.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I think the goal is just to
- 8:16Speaker 1: not look like you in the Houston Rockets uniform.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Yeah, it's ultimately the goal.
- 8:20Speaker 1: For us, like we don't want to What does that
- 8:23Speaker 1: look like? Did you see it? I'm just asking I
- 8:27Speaker 1: saw it? Is he? Here's the question for you. I
- 8:33Speaker 1: realized Raymond. People don't like him. I get it. He's annoying.
- 8:37Speaker 1: He won't stop talking. That's not the thing to say
- 8:40Speaker 1: to Charles Barkley when you're sitting on his show, on
- 8:43Speaker 1: his set, being interviewed by those guys. Okay, it's not right.
- 8:47Speaker 1: But I asked you this question because I had this.
- 8:50Speaker 1: You know, I had this debate years ago with Lebtard
- 8:54Speaker 1: about whose career do you think Barkley would rather have
- 8:58Speaker 1: his own or Robert or and then we got Big
- 9:01Speaker 1: Shot Bob on the show and he said he would
- 9:04Speaker 1: rather have Charles Barkley's career than his own career. But
- 9:08Speaker 1: Draymond Green is a lot better historically in terms of
- 9:13Speaker 1: career than Robert Rory. He is. He's a Hall of Famer,
- 9:17Speaker 1: He's considered one of the great defensive players we've ever
- 9:19Speaker 1: seen in the NBA, and he has won four rings.
- 9:23Speaker 1: So I ask you, this is he who's you set
- 9:26Speaker 1: out your entire life, you work, you want to play
- 9:28Speaker 1: in the NBA and you get there. Whose career would
- 9:33Speaker 1: you rather have Draymond Green's or Charles Barkley's.
- 9:37Speaker 4: Well, this one isn't really tricky to me anyway, because, okay,
- 9:41Speaker 4: I'll ask you this. I'll answer a question with a question.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Is that a cowhard thing?
- 9:44Speaker 4: I'm not one hundred percent sure. If it is, I'm
- 9:46Speaker 4: sorry for stealing his thing. Does Draymond Green seem.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Happy to you?
- 9:51Speaker 4: No? Doesn't he seem defensive at all times?
- 9:55Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 9:55Speaker 4: Doesn't he? Isn't he the guy who is constantly still
- 9:59Speaker 4: still being criticized or being called Steph Curry's backpack?
- 10:03Speaker 1: Yep? You think he's happy about that?
- 10:05Speaker 4: You think the four Rings really really make him happy
- 10:09Speaker 4: when he sits there every single day and has to
- 10:12Speaker 4: defend himself against people who call him a glorified role player,
- 10:15Speaker 4: against people who say that we'd leave you wide open
- 10:18Speaker 4: all the time. There's reason for that, Steve Martin. And
- 10:25Speaker 4: there's no chance that he is completely satisfied with who
- 10:30Speaker 4: he is. I'm sorry, Taylor. First segment, that's rough.
- 10:34Speaker 1: By the way, the audience what we were doing a
- 10:37Speaker 1: bit and Steve Martin's We were talking about great prop
- 10:41Speaker 1: comics of all time and someone said Steve Martin. I
- 10:43Speaker 1: said it, you know, three names later and now it's
- 10:46Speaker 1: become a running joke on the show.
- 10:47Speaker 4: Anyway, go ahead, so if you repeat what somebody just said,
- 10:49Speaker 4: you're just Steve Martin, Steve Morton.
- 10:53Speaker 1: But now go to Charles Barkley.
- 10:55Speaker 4: And while Charles Barkley was an angry player right threw
- 11:00Speaker 4: people out of a bar window, I believe was a
- 11:03Speaker 4: guy who always stood up for himself. He seems pretty happy,
- 11:07Speaker 4: Like he seems pretty satisfied with his life. Like I mean,
- 11:11Speaker 4: this is what I was talking about yesterday when I said,
- 11:13Speaker 4: you know, whether you're Klay Thompson, who is like bragging
- 11:16Speaker 4: about having four rings after a breakup, which those two
- 11:19Speaker 4: aren't even on the same playing field. And then you've
- 11:22Speaker 4: got Draymond Green thinking that his four rings can allow
- 11:25Speaker 4: him to be disrespectful to a legend like Charles Barkley.
- 11:28Speaker 4: The rings don't define who you are. It's the same
- 11:31Speaker 4: way that Draymond Green is not going to be the
- 11:34Speaker 4: next Charles Barkley of broadcasting because those four rings aren't
- 11:38Speaker 4: gonna make him entertaining. Like he's a good basketball, you know, analyst.
- 11:42Speaker 4: He can tell you stuff, you know that they'll tell
- 11:45Speaker 4: you when the coaches huddle, but he's not gonna entertain you.
- 11:48Speaker 4: That whole Charles Barkley thing was probably supposed to be
- 11:50Speaker 4: a joke that just didn't land, and he just tried to,
- 11:53Speaker 4: you know, go past it. Kenny Smith was trying to
- 11:54Speaker 4: make it funny, but it really wasn't funny. And so
- 11:57Speaker 4: in that same respect, I would much rather have Charles
- 12:00Speaker 4: Barkley's career and say, look me, as an individual, did
- 12:04Speaker 4: all I can do. It's a team sport, it's not tennis.
- 12:08Speaker 4: I'm not a failure. And so if you want to
- 12:10Speaker 4: call me a failure because Michael Jordan wins six and
- 12:13Speaker 4: zero in the finals. Great, that's you creating the ring
- 12:17Speaker 4: culture and making it even worse than it already is
- 12:19Speaker 4: by saying you're a failure. Right, So I'd much rather
- 12:23Speaker 4: have Charles Barkley's career. You know what they say in basketball,
- 12:26Speaker 4: stew gats right when you're talking smack to each other.
- 12:29Speaker 4: The one thing that you could really land on. Hey,
- 12:31Speaker 4: if I play you one on one, I'm gonna kick your button. Right,
- 12:34Speaker 4: Draymond Green's not kicking Charles Barkley's anything. Draymond Green and
- 12:38Speaker 4: one on one will struggle to score against Charles Barkley,
- 12:41Speaker 4: even a forty year old Charles Barkley.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Is he There were times, though, during Barkley's playing career
- 12:46Speaker 1: where people would say the same thing. He doesn't appear
- 12:48Speaker 1: to be happy. He's mad, he's angry, he's not winning titles.
- 12:52Speaker 1: He's in Philadelphia. He wants to get out of Philadelphia.
- 12:55Speaker 1: He eventually did. He went to Phoenix. He led that
- 12:56Speaker 1: team to the NBA Finals and to Michael Jordan because
- 13:01Speaker 1: everyone did so, but.
- 13:03Speaker 4: He was trying to get there. Draymond already reached the
- 13:05Speaker 4: time four different times. But it's still unhappy.
- 13:08Speaker 1: My point in saying all that is I think where
- 13:10Speaker 1: you've seen Barkley be the happiest is with his post career.
- 13:15Speaker 1: No one was expecting, not even Charles, for him to
- 13:17Speaker 1: turn into what he's turned into in his post NBA career,
- 13:20Speaker 1: which is maybe the biggest media member we have going.
- 13:24Speaker 1: I mean, he has cart blanche. He could say whatever
- 13:26Speaker 1: he wants with no ramifications whatsoever. And Draymond said something
- 13:29Speaker 1: to him, and Barkley got upset about it, and everyone
- 13:32Speaker 1: is outraged about it coming from the guy who for
- 13:34Speaker 1: his entire career has said anything he's wanted to say.
- 13:37Speaker 1: If you could take all the personality stuff and just
- 13:40Speaker 1: put it aside for a second resume, side by side
- 13:43Speaker 1: you went to the NBA, would you rather have Barkley's
- 13:46Speaker 1: career take all the other stuff out of it or
- 13:48Speaker 1: Draymond Green? Because I'd rather have Draymond Green's.
- 13:51Speaker 4: It's still Barkley. It's still Barkley. If you're asking me,
- 13:53Speaker 4: would I rather have Steph Curry's career or Charles Barkley
- 13:56Speaker 4: out there?
- 13:56Speaker 1: Rather have Steph Curry's.
- 13:57Speaker 4: But I would rather be Barkley as a individual. It
- 14:00Speaker 4: doesn't matter about my personality as an individual. If I
- 14:03Speaker 4: say I've exhausted, not only my ability one thousand percent,
- 14:09Speaker 4: and it happened to be one of the best at
- 14:11Speaker 4: that in the game. I've done everything I could. Dan
- 14:14Speaker 4: Marino's not losing sleep because a GM couldn't get him
- 14:17Speaker 4: a running back in the defense.
- 14:18Speaker 1: He was the greatest.
- 14:20Speaker 3: I think the Draymond Green Charles Barkley conversation is further
- 14:25Speaker 3: proof that ring culture has gotten completely out of control.
- 14:29Speaker 3: And the most ironic part about ring culture being out
- 14:32Speaker 3: of control is on this show we have the Tim Robinson.
- 14:36Speaker 3: We're all trying to find the guy who got ring
- 14:38Speaker 3: culture out of control, looking right back at us at
- 14:41Speaker 3: stud gotts.
- 14:42Speaker 1: It's so true. Yeah, but I want you to think
- 14:46Speaker 1: about this, Okay, If I told you, okay, you could
- 14:50Speaker 1: be Player A, who's defensive Player of the Year. He's
- 14:53Speaker 1: going to the Hall of Fame, he plays on legendary
- 14:55Speaker 1: teams with Stephen Clay and he wins four titles. Or
- 14:58Speaker 1: you could be player B, doesn't win a ring but
- 15:01Speaker 1: is considered one of the twenty greatest NBA players of
- 15:05Speaker 1: all time. Which career tailor, honestly, which career would you take?
- 15:07Speaker 1: Because I take Draymond's.
- 15:09Speaker 3: Let me flip this back to you. Player A has
- 15:12Speaker 3: eleven rings and is a Hall of Famer. Player B
- 15:15Speaker 3: is a Hall of Famer and has six rings. Whose
- 15:17Speaker 3: career would you rather have?
- 15:19Speaker 1: Eleven? Uh?
- 15:20Speaker 4: No?
- 15:20Speaker 1: Six?
- 15:20Speaker 4: I'm sorry?
- 15:23Speaker 3: Got him over Michael Jordan?
- 15:25Speaker 1: You know Raymond? Yeah. The rule of the show is
- 15:29Speaker 1: if I correct myself before you speak again, then I
- 15:31Speaker 1: correct myself and I'm right. Jordan's career.
- 15:34Speaker 4: Yes, do you know where you'll never find Draymond made
- 15:37Speaker 4: that up on one of those graphics that say who's
- 15:39Speaker 4: gonna beat this squad?
- 15:40Speaker 1: He's never going to be on those. Ever, they don't
- 15:46Speaker 1: play one on one though.
- 15:48Speaker 4: It doesn't matter, No, no, no, it doesn't matter.
- 15:50Speaker 1: I'm saying, like you know, U c O.
- 15:52Speaker 4: It's Steph, it's Michael, it's Lebron, it's Tim Duncan, and
- 15:56Speaker 4: it's Shack versus Magic Johnson, you know, Reggie Miller. And
- 16:01Speaker 4: he's never going to be on that graphic because people
- 16:04Speaker 4: don't think of him as one of the greats. He's
- 16:06Speaker 4: a great defender and a great role player on a
- 16:08Speaker 4: great team who has a large mouth.
- 16:11Speaker 3: I'm not sure how good Shaq would be as a
- 16:13Speaker 3: one on one player, because you would think he would
- 16:16Speaker 3: have a tough time defending some people like Lebron for me,
- 16:21Speaker 3: first ballot, one on one Hall of Fame, Carmelo Anthony.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Really wow, better than Jordan, is what you're saying. That's
- 16:29Speaker 1: what you're doing there, I mean one on one, I mean.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Iverson Jordan, best player of all time, Carmelo Anthony, best
- 16:38Speaker 3: bucket getter of all time.
- 16:40Speaker 1: That's tough, man.
- 16:44Speaker 4: You know what, whenever I get to choose my Mount
- 16:47Speaker 4: Rushmore Monday topic, it will be.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Basket getters of all time? Okay, yes, Mikey, Is it
- 16:54Speaker 1: just me or was that a heat check by Taylor?
- 16:57Speaker 5: That take?
- 16:58Speaker 1: Right? There was Taylor chucking one up. Let's just see
- 17:00Speaker 1: if I'm going to drain him from half court.
- 17:02Speaker 3: Listen when you're on the herd, Yes, dress for the

- 18:48Speaker 1: James Harden, please, he is so bad. How many turnovers
- 18:52Speaker 1: for Hardened last night? Eight? I think it was eight.
- 18:55Speaker 1: He's terrible. I marvel before we get to Dan Bayer
- 18:58Speaker 1: in a graduation speech that I did. I marvel. We
- 19:02Speaker 1: have guest bookers here, and I always marvel at who
- 19:06Speaker 1: Taylor is going to say yes to and who he's
- 19:08Speaker 1: going to say no to, because I really left it
- 19:10Speaker 1: up to Taylor. At this point. Bob Chesney is going
- 19:13Speaker 1: to join us at four point thirty today, the UCLA
- 19:15Speaker 1: head coach. And the timing is good football, yes, because
- 19:19Speaker 1: of the expanded Well we all know mc cronin as
- 19:21Speaker 1: a basketball coach.
- 19:22Speaker 4: Well, I was just thinking of any sports it's in season.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Yes, Well, the timing is good because of the expanded
- 19:27Speaker 1: college football playoff that's being proposed but I am wondering
- 19:31Speaker 1: why you were so quick to respond yes to Bob Chesney.
- 19:35Speaker 3: So in sports, sometimes a line in the sand is
- 19:39Speaker 3: drawn and you have to pick a side. We clearly
- 19:42Speaker 3: have to pick a side in the battle for La
- 19:44Speaker 3: Ucla versus USC and this show. I will not allow
- 19:49Speaker 3: this show to be a pro Lincoln Riley show. That
- 19:53Speaker 3: fraud over there in Lincoln Riley. The twenty four team
- 19:56Speaker 3: playoff was made for Lincoln.
- 19:59Speaker 1: Riley, Yes it was. He's the one pushing for it
- 20:01Speaker 1: because he's never in it.
- 20:02Speaker 4: So I did not know I would have to be
- 20:04Speaker 4: picking a side in this line in the sand today,
- 20:06Speaker 4: But I guess it's chosen for me, right.
- 20:08Speaker 1: Yeah, well Taylor chosen. Yep.
- 20:09Speaker 3: We're all brilliants.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Okay, okay, yeah, thank you? Okay with that? I mean,
- 20:15Speaker 1: I don't know. I like the Trojans. I mean I
- 20:18Speaker 1: kind of like you. I see.
- 20:19Speaker 3: Maybe I don't love Lincoln Riley, but I like you.
- 20:22Speaker 1: We'll give Chesney a chance to win us over, how
- 20:24Speaker 1: about that. I'm open for that.
- 20:26Speaker 4: Yes, by the ways, do the answer is seven to
- 20:28Speaker 4: what turnover? D I knew he was going to ask.
- 20:34Speaker 1: He stinks Yesterday we had Christopher mad Dog Russo on
- 20:38Speaker 1: we talked about graduation. I'm going up to graduation, Man,
- 20:41Speaker 1: it goes quick. I am going up to a graduation
- 20:44Speaker 1: this weekend for one of my daughters at Syracuse University
- 20:47Speaker 1: in Qes, YEP. Looking forward to that. The Orange uh huh.
- 20:55Speaker 1: And we talked about commencement speeches and the fact that
- 20:58Speaker 1: Dog has never given one. I would pay to see
- 21:01Speaker 1: Dog give one. I've never given one, which is not
- 21:04Speaker 1: the truth, because I realized that I did after we
- 21:07Speaker 1: spoke with with Christopher mad Dog Russo. So I am
- 21:10Speaker 1: going to play a commencement speech that I did for
- 21:13Speaker 1: the Stugat School of frodcasting many years ago, since it's
- 21:16Speaker 1: graduation season. But I was thinking, is he about a
- 21:20Speaker 1: top five lest yesterday, last night today? Top five people
- 21:26Speaker 1: in sports whose parents, if they were huge fans of
- 21:29Speaker 1: all things graduations, what their names would be? Love, pomp,
- 21:35Speaker 1: and circumstance. It's just a bridge into the speech, that's all.
- 21:39Speaker 1: It is a speech that you did years ago. I
- 21:42Speaker 1: did a few years ago. But it's a laugh out
- 21:43Speaker 1: loud funny. I think the audience will enjoy it. No,
- 21:45Speaker 1: I remember it. I just thought you're doing a new one.
- 21:47Speaker 1: I have an oli. I'm not doing a new one ever. Again,
- 21:52Speaker 1: that's a bridge too fun Ioway. Sam just asked if
- 21:56Speaker 1: I wanted pomp and circumstance, and yes I did. All right,
- 21:59Speaker 1: Oh well, Caleb gowns you number five Brian Scale of
- 22:08Speaker 1: Victorian scal Number four, Matt Tasselback, that's a good one.
- 22:19Speaker 1: Number three Javail degree's a great number two, John A
- 22:29Speaker 1: Speechee speech.
- 22:34Speaker 4: That's definitely a job of meets you a bit of
- 22:40Speaker 4: a bit of a reach, but still hilarious at the
- 22:43Speaker 4: same time.
- 22:43Speaker 1: Speechy let's speech and number one grad mccakey.
- 22:50Speaker 3: Grand penny, oh grad penny.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Damn it. So with that said you, years ago, me
- 23:00Speaker 1: and Dan stands It collaborated and then years later we
- 23:03Speaker 1: would collaborate on a book. He thought I would write
- 23:05Speaker 1: more of it because I wrote this speech. I didn't.
- 23:08Speaker 1: I handed it over to Dan. Let's play my graduation
- 23:11Speaker 1: speech for the class of I think twenty eighteen, perhaps
- 23:16Speaker 1: from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting. Listen up, students, faculty, parents, grandparents,
- 23:35Speaker 1: and sponsors, especially the sponsors. TISA the official watch to
- 23:42Speaker 1: the NBA. That beautiful Spaulding Game day leather and zip
- 23:48Speaker 1: recruiter the smartest way to hire graduates. ZIP recruiter will
- 23:54Speaker 1: hire the producers, guest bookers, and researchers. Now we'll make
- 23:59Speaker 1: your jobs even easier. Today is the day which will
- 24:04Speaker 1: live in infamy for graduates of Syracuse and Northwestern Great
- 24:12Speaker 1: moments are born from great opportunity, and that's what you
- 24:16Speaker 1: have here. That's what you've earned here. If we debated
- 24:23Speaker 1: them ten times, they might win nine, but not anymore.
- 24:27Speaker 1: Today we interrupt that. Today, we clash with that, and
- 24:32Speaker 1: we shut them down because we can. Today. You are
- 24:38Speaker 1: the greatest broadcasters in the world. You were born to
- 24:43Speaker 1: be broadcasters, every one of you. This is your time.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Their time is done. It's over. I'm sick and tired
- 24:53Speaker 1: of hearing about what great broadcast schools the ivys have
- 24:57Speaker 1: screw up. This is your time. I had a dream
- 25:03Speaker 1: many years ago. I had a dream that my two
- 25:06Speaker 1: teenage children will one day live in a nation where
- 25:09Speaker 1: they will not be judged by the color of their skin,
- 25:12Speaker 1: but by the content of the paycheck their father's character receives.
- 25:19Speaker 1: I knew it wouldn't be easy to transform sports media,
- 25:22Speaker 1: but take it from me, you miss one hundred percent
- 25:25Speaker 1: of the takes. You don't steal from Greenie, Cowhard and Pablo.
- 25:30Speaker 1: I mean, I've missed more than nine thousand pronunciations in
- 25:34Speaker 1: my career. I've lost almost three hundred debates twenty six times.
- 25:39Speaker 1: I've been trusted to make the segment ending joke and
- 25:43Speaker 1: misheard what was said. In my year. I have failed
- 25:46Speaker 1: over and over and over again in my life, and
- 25:51Speaker 1: that is why I succeed. Always remember what you learned
- 25:57Speaker 1: on your first day here. Speak loud and carry a
- 26:01Speaker 1: big stick. You'll go far. To my many detractors, I ask,
- 26:09Speaker 1: do you want the truth, because most traditional reporters can't
- 26:13Speaker 1: handle the truth. We live in a world that has paywalls,
- 26:17Speaker 1: and those paywalls have to be guarded by men with
- 26:19Speaker 1: journalism degrees. Who's gonna do it? You, Lieutenant Oban, I
- 26:25Speaker 1: have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fabil. You
- 26:29Speaker 1: week for newspapers, and you curse the blogs and podcasts.
- 26:33Speaker 1: You have that luxury, You have the luxury of not
- 26:36Speaker 1: knowing what I know that the death of newspapers, while tragic,
- 26:41Speaker 1: probably created better content, and my existence, while grotesque and
- 26:46Speaker 1: incomprehensible to you, creates better content. How is this that
- 26:51Speaker 1: you don't want the truth because deep down in places
- 26:54Speaker 1: you don't talk about in press boxes. You want me
- 26:57Speaker 1: on that radio. You need me on that radio. You
- 27:02Speaker 1: use things like stats, sources and postgame quotes. You use
- 27:06Speaker 1: those things as the backbone of a life spent defending something.
- 27:10Speaker 1: I use them as a punchline. I have neither the
- 27:14Speaker 1: time nor the inclination to explain myself to everyone who
- 27:18Speaker 1: rides in sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom
- 27:21Speaker 1: that I provide, and then questions the matter in which
- 27:24Speaker 1: I provide it. I'd rather they just say thank you
- 27:29Speaker 1: and went on their way. Otherwise, I suggest they borrow
- 27:32Speaker 1: someone else's takes and mail it a podcast. Either way,
- 27:37Speaker 1: I don't give it damn what they think they are
- 27:40Speaker 1: entitled to. My fellow broadcasters, ask not what your alma
- 27:46Speaker 1: mater could do for you, Ask what you could do
- 27:49Speaker 1: for your alma mater. And what you could do is
- 27:53Speaker 1: send yearly donations. Better make it monthly donations. If you
- 27:57Speaker 1: want to make them weekly, that's fine. Just make them
- 28:00Speaker 1: out to my name. Keep the cast flow coming. The
- 28:03Speaker 1: buck stops here at my desk and speaking up the
- 28:07Speaker 1: bucks must win game game five tonight, And so you
- 28:12Speaker 1: don't have to pronounce his name, as I taught you, remember,
- 28:15Speaker 1: just call him the Greek free. In less than an hour,
- 28:20Speaker 1: you will join others from around the world, and you
- 28:23Speaker 1: will be launching the largest vocal battle on traditional journalism
- 28:27Speaker 1: in the history of mankind. Journalism. That word should have
- 28:33Speaker 1: new meaning for all of us today. We can't be
- 28:37Speaker 1: consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united
- 28:42Speaker 1: in our common interest. Perhaps it's faith that today is
- 28:48Speaker 1: graduation dead, and you will be set out into the world.
- 28:52Speaker 1: So fight people with frame diplomas at stack resumes. We
- 28:59Speaker 1: will be fight for our right to not work hard,
- 29:03Speaker 1: to have no credibility, and still be able to land
- 29:06Speaker 1: at the same network as Bob Lee. And should we
- 29:10Speaker 1: win the day, graduation day will no longer be known
- 29:15Speaker 1: as the day of accomplishment, but as a day other
- 29:18Speaker 1: parents realize they have wasted hundreds of thousands of dollars,
- 29:22Speaker 1: and a day that we the underachievers, declared in one voice,
- 29:28Speaker 1: we will not watch the game at night. We may
- 29:32Speaker 1: or may not watch the big fights. We're going to
- 29:36Speaker 1: live on without facts. We're going to survive without reading.
- 29:41Speaker 1: Today we celebrate your graduation day.
- 29:51Speaker 4: Somewhere like it's a little bit commencement speech, a little
- 29:54Speaker 4: bit acceptance speech, a little bit closing argument, a bent, defiant, swell.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Self serving. Really went Caleb gowns of Karl Anthony gowns.
- 30:07Speaker 1: You're stuck on that?
- 30:08Speaker 3: Really, there was so much to break down in that
- 30:12Speaker 3: in that commencement speech.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Yeah, I was ahead of my time. Listen man foreshadowing?
- 30:16Speaker 1: How about that?
- 30:17Speaker 3: My favorite was the appearance we got from Martin Luther
- 30:20Speaker 3: ding Dong junior.
- 30:23Speaker 1: STU.
- 30:24Speaker 4: Could I jump in and offer some observations on this?
- 30:26Speaker 1: Oh? Please do?
- 30:27Speaker 7: I felt I felt a little Teddy Roosevelt in there.
- 30:31Speaker 7: I felt a little few good men, and I felt
- 30:34Speaker 7: a lot of definitely at the end of Thomas J. Whittmore,
- 30:37Speaker 7: President of the United States played by Bill Pullman in
- 30:39Speaker 7: Independence Day, I have.
- 30:41Speaker 1: No idea what you're speaking.
- 30:43Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 30:43Speaker 1: I just did you get any of that? I don't see.
- 30:45Speaker 1: I didn't I didn't see to get anything. Were listening
- 30:48Speaker 1: while we were listening to the speech? Are you claiming
- 30:53Speaker 1: that I plagiarized my speech? Is that what you're no?
- 30:56Speaker 7: I think you're just borrowing some spices, maybe from several
- 31:00Speaker 7: popular speeches from movies that Ture.
- 31:02Speaker 1: We need him on this radio. We want him on
- 31:04Speaker 1: this radio. True, there's no way was charagterized. Half of
- 31:07Speaker 1: it was about him. You notice that Dade.
- 31:15Speaker 3: Also the act of stealing takes is encouraged.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Yeah, always, yes, I mean as a fellow graduate. Yes, Steel,
- 31:21Speaker 1: mind Steel, Taylor's.
- 31:22Speaker 3: Graduated on the top of my class.
- 31:25Speaker 1: You're my prize students.
- 31:27Speaker 5: Really, he also could have gone Matt Tassel instead of
- 31:30Speaker 5: Tassel back because Tassel would have worked as well with Castle.
- 31:34Speaker 1: Hey, Stefan, how about you make a list.
- 31:40Speaker 2: Be sure to catch live editions of Stu Godson Company
- 31:44Speaker 2: live weekdays at three pm Eastern twelve pm Pacific.
- 31:49Speaker 1: I am told by Iowa Sam that we have like
- 31:52Speaker 1: eighteen minutes to take phone calls whatever you want to
- 31:55Speaker 1: talk about Wednesday eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.
- 31:59Speaker 1: So I want to see if I'm following you correctly
- 32:02Speaker 1: down this Anthony Edwards path, because I believe.
- 32:05Speaker 4: That you're talking about Ricardo's haircut.
- 32:07Speaker 1: You are obsessed with Ricardo's hair. He looks great, I mean, yes,
- 32:11Speaker 1: this is the best bornout Ricardo was look since we started.
- 32:14Speaker 4: But usually wears a hat, so you can tell he's
- 32:15Speaker 4: really proud of this. But the thing I love about
- 32:18Speaker 4: this haircut that it's not only like pristine like twenty
- 32:22Speaker 4: twenty six can walk anywhere with that haircut, but he
- 32:24Speaker 4: also looks like he could be starring in like a
- 32:26Speaker 4: Grease musical and like just fall into like the nineteen
- 32:29Speaker 4: fifties perfectly, because it's like perfectly like I would say,
- 32:32Speaker 4: Sean Sherania would be proud of this haircut, like that's
- 32:35Speaker 4: how good this haircut is.
- 32:36Speaker 3: And Stu, he's wearing a soccer kit as they call,
- 32:40Speaker 3: not a soccer jersey, a soccer kit. Yes, and it
- 32:42Speaker 3: has the collar. It's a French jersey. The collar on
- 32:47Speaker 3: his kit.
- 32:47Speaker 1: It's a France kit. Yeah.
- 32:49Speaker 3: Yeah, it looks like like photo day here at Fox
- 32:52Speaker 3: Sports Radio right now.
- 32:53Speaker 1: It's like a real collar and everything. Wait a second, Ricardo,
- 32:56Speaker 1: did you get a haircut for the big soccer game today?
- 32:58Speaker 3: I mean, well, it is the semi finals, Stu, God,
- 33:03Speaker 3: so I had to look good.
- 33:04Speaker 4: Yes, it would have no comment at that trust for
- 33:07Speaker 4: the job you want exactly.
- 33:09Speaker 1: And we all know the semi finals more important than
- 33:11Speaker 1: the final, right, I mean this is the finals pretty much? Oh,
- 33:15Speaker 1: it is really the finals before the final. Huh.
- 33:18Speaker 3: It's the rare Champions League semi final. That's the Champions
- 33:21Speaker 3: League final, huh.
- 33:22Speaker 4: Kind of like Arizona Michigan in the final four.
- 33:25Speaker 3: People are just discounting Arsenal.
- 33:27Speaker 1: Do they, So that's the team that's in the final
- 33:29Speaker 1: Declan Rice, yep, Arsenal did and they have no shot
- 33:32Speaker 1: regardless of who makes it through to the finals.
- 33:35Speaker 3: They should, but Arsenal's main focus right now is on
- 33:38Speaker 3: the Premier League, which they haven't won in quite some time.
- 33:42Speaker 3: So it's kind of like a pick your poison for
- 33:44Speaker 3: this Arsenal team where they're probably focusing all their attention on.
- 33:48Speaker 3: It's the rare team that's in the Champions League final
- 33:50Speaker 3: that might have their eyes elsewhere.
- 33:51Speaker 4: But isn't Declan Rice having such a good season that
- 33:54Speaker 4: they're even talking about them about, you know, winning the
- 33:56Speaker 4: ball or whatever, the balloon balloon.
- 34:00Speaker 3: So I'm gonna be honest with you guys right here,
- 34:01Speaker 3: in a moment of transparency. We're so far into this
- 34:05Speaker 3: soccer talk right now that I don't even know what
- 34:07Speaker 3: I'm saying.
- 34:07Speaker 1: Well, that's the problem with soccer. There are too many leagues.
- 34:09Speaker 1: Everyone's confused. You're telling me there's a semi final that happens,
- 34:13Speaker 1: it's a final before a final. It's a league, it's
- 34:15Speaker 1: a different league. There's this league, that league, the World Cup.
- 34:18Speaker 1: It's all confusing.
- 34:19Speaker 4: I love that, though Taylor's like, please, no more questions, please.
- 34:22Speaker 1: I don't know anything. No one does. I mean, the
- 34:24Speaker 1: players have no idea what league they're playing in.
- 34:29Speaker 3: Ricardo asked me who I thought was gonna win, and
- 34:32Speaker 3: I essentially told him the German League.
- 34:36Speaker 1: Do you think it's going to win the Super Bowl?
- 34:38Speaker 1: And I said the NFL. Tip of the cap. We'll
- 34:44Speaker 1: get to your calls here at a second, eight seven,
- 34:46Speaker 1: seven ninety nine on Fox. So if Anthony Edward can
- 34:49Speaker 1: beat San Antonio right now, he's back and he's coming
- 34:51Speaker 1: off the bench, Edwards, and perhaps he'll start moving forward.
- 34:54Speaker 1: But that creates a storyline for the NBA with web
- 34:57Speaker 1: beat Right has to come back, has to work harder,
- 34:59Speaker 1: has to do it better, has to be better. Right
- 35:01Speaker 1: has to make that climb. Then goes on to beat
- 35:03Speaker 1: Oklahoma City, which makes everyone happy because Oklahoma City does
- 35:07Speaker 1: not win back to back NBA champions Championships because no
- 35:11Speaker 1: one wants that team. As an NBA dynast, and I.
- 35:13Speaker 4: Would say even greater. It would be a victory for
- 35:16Speaker 4: ethical hoops, right, because it's not you know, asking for fout,
- 35:19Speaker 4: begging for fouls and all this stuff. It's just I'm
- 35:22Speaker 4: Anthony Edwards. I can get a shot off whenever I
- 35:24Speaker 4: want to, and I'm ridiculously clutched.
- 35:26Speaker 1: And here's the other thing. So the Knicks, who I
- 35:29Speaker 1: have already in the NBA Finals, Nick fans would love
- 35:32Speaker 1: that he'd get a standing ovation because the Knicks are
- 35:35Speaker 1: now facing a Timberwolf's team that Nick fans feel like
- 35:38Speaker 1: they could beat, as opposed to Oklahoma City, where Nick
- 35:41Speaker 1: fans are like, hey, we have no shot. So I
- 35:43Speaker 1: think if this all plays out, you're right, he saves
- 35:45Speaker 1: the NBA and the Knicks win in five and he
- 35:49Speaker 1: gets Finals MVP.
- 35:50Speaker 4: Like imagine, imagine how star studded Madison Square Gardens going
- 35:56Speaker 4: to be for an NBA finals, and yet Anthony Edwards
- 35:59Speaker 4: would emmerge as the biggest star because of his performance.
- 36:03Speaker 1: I mean, and he's just his look, I should hate
- 36:06Speaker 1: Anthony Edwards.
- 36:07Speaker 4: Anthony Edwards did the thing where he was like saw
- 36:09Speaker 4: a line of you know, gay man a thing and said, oh,
- 36:12Speaker 4: what is this world coming?
- 36:13Speaker 1: To and decided to post that on the Internet.
- 36:15Speaker 4: I should hate the guy, but I see him as
- 36:17Speaker 4: a young guy with a lot to learn and a
- 36:19Speaker 4: very willingness to write. I think he has that ability
- 36:23Speaker 4: to and he's just always going to be himself. He's
- 36:26Speaker 4: going to be very personable, but always be true to himself.
- 36:29Speaker 4: And I think he's impossible not to like. And so
- 36:33Speaker 4: if he just not only with his style of play,
- 36:36Speaker 4: but with his personality, comes out on top after you
- 36:40Speaker 4: know what we've been saying, Oh it's Jokers year, Oh
- 36:42Speaker 4: it's Shay's year, Oh it's Wemby's year, and it's Anthony
- 36:45Speaker 4: Edwards out of this sixth seed with a bunch of
- 36:46Speaker 4: defenders around him.
- 36:48Speaker 1: That, I mean, that would do so much for him.
- 36:50Speaker 1: What is he just did there, by the way, is
- 36:52Speaker 1: make it impossible for you to dislike Anthony Edwards basically
- 36:57Speaker 1: because I was right, he is wired dislike Anthony Edwards.
- 37:02Speaker 1: It would be as real goodyer as and he's telling
- 37:04Speaker 1: you you likes him, go ahead tell it.
- 37:05Speaker 3: And it would be a very star studed event in
- 37:07Speaker 3: Madison Square Garden, unless there was another met Gala then
- 37:11Speaker 3: then Ben Stiller would miss it.
- 37:12Speaker 1: With that phony I mean, I just don't understand the
- 37:14Speaker 1: met Gallea, to be honest.
- 37:16Speaker 4: It first of all, it's like the Tour de France
- 37:18Speaker 4: to me, it comes around every year and I'm like, oh,
- 37:19Speaker 4: I didn't know it was that sneaks up on now, Yeah,
- 37:22Speaker 4: it definitely sneaks up on you. And then it's just
- 37:24Speaker 4: like I don't, can't, I don't. I mean, it's a fundraiser,
- 37:27Speaker 4: but it's really just so you can be seen in
- 37:29Speaker 4: these clothes.
- 37:30Speaker 3: Dude.
- 37:30Speaker 4: You guys are rich. You can be seen in these
- 37:32Speaker 4: clothes whenever you want.
- 37:33Speaker 1: Just put it on. Just put it on, and then
- 37:35Speaker 1: put it on social same thing. I gotta tell you, man,
- 37:38Speaker 1: I see I see all these celebrities at the Derby.
- 37:41Speaker 1: I want to go. I'm not big you know, horse
- 37:43Speaker 1: racing it's dead. I'm not big bod. I am big
- 37:46Speaker 1: on partying, and that just looks like a massive party. Man.
- 37:49Speaker 3: I think that's the Preakness.
- 37:50Speaker 4: No, No, I think it was definitely the Derby party,
- 37:53Speaker 4: all of them. Well, the Derby is where Tom Brady
- 37:56Speaker 4: was falling down drunk right, and where Wes Welker was
- 37:58Speaker 4: supposedly on molly and.
- 38:00Speaker 1: Was handing out my allegedly, yes.
- 38:02Speaker 4: Allegedly, I'm sorry, allegedly, not supposedly, I'm really I'm very thankful.
- 38:06Speaker 4: By the way, speaking of a sort of tailor situation,
- 38:08Speaker 4: like don't ask any more soccer questions, there was a
- 38:10Speaker 4: caller and the subject line set Pelican's head coach search,
- 38:14Speaker 4: and I got nothing on it, and so thankfully that
- 38:16Speaker 4: person has fallen off. But maybe we should take one
- 38:19Speaker 4: of these others.
- 38:19Speaker 1: Yeah, the caller has dropped. Let's go out to Mark.
- 38:22Speaker 1: Who's in Miami today, Marco Ahead, you're on Fox Sports Radio. Awer.
- 38:25Speaker 1: Thanks to Kenny Albert for joining us. Mike Greenberg going
- 38:30Speaker 1: to join us at around four twenty is he is upset?
- 38:34Speaker 1: What happened there? You're supposed to read a promo? Yeah,
- 38:35Speaker 1: it just disappeared. I had to start filling time. I'm sorry.
- 38:41Speaker 1: Let me know when you find it. It was there
- 38:43Speaker 1: and now it's gone. Yeah, Kenny Albert again, thanks to
- 38:47Speaker 1: him for joining us during a busy time. Mike Greenberg
- 38:49Speaker 1: coming up at four twenty five. Colin Cowherb. We're filling
- 38:51Speaker 1: in for him tomorrow from twelve to three Eastern. Thank
- 38:55Speaker 1: you everyone, We appreciate it. Tomorrow, so Colin going to
- 38:58Speaker 1: join us at four forty five. I am not certain
- 39:01Speaker 1: Colin is aware that we're filling in for him tomorrow,
- 39:04Speaker 1: but we'll all find out together at four forty five today.
- 39:08Speaker 1: But it is Thursday. That means it's a think about
- 39:12Speaker 1: It Thursday, and we'll get to it right after is
- 39:14Speaker 1: he reads this promo that he just found that he
- 39:16Speaker 1: was supposed to read a minute ago.
- 39:17Speaker 4: Eh details Stream us live wherever you happen to be

- 39:32Speaker 4: as one of your presets in the iHeart App, so
- 39:33Speaker 4: it'll pop up at the top.
- 39:35Speaker 1: Of your screen. All right, Iowa, Sam, let's think about
- 39:37Speaker 1: it on a Thursday.
- 39:40Speaker 2: You know that segment talk about It Tuesday on Hawkmann
- 39:43Speaker 2: Crowder in Solero. This is like that, but bigger, bigger
- 39:48Speaker 2: and better, better, better, And forty eight hours later, this
- 39:52Speaker 2: is think about It Thursday.
- 39:56Speaker 1: So this is Taylor's attempt to counter program a local
- 39:59Speaker 1: radio sh show here in Miami. They do we talk
- 40:01Speaker 1: about it Tuesday. We do a think about it Thursday,
- 40:03Speaker 1: totally different.
- 40:04Speaker 3: Yes, I've got inside sources too that say Solana's really
- 40:07Speaker 3: mad that we call them selearro.
- 40:09Speaker 1: Enough of Selearro, I mean seriously.
- 40:11Speaker 3: So twenty four years ago today, Allen Iverson had one
- 40:14Speaker 3: of the most infamous pressers of all time where he said,
- 40:18Speaker 3: we're talking about practice.
- 40:19Speaker 1: We're talking about practice.
- 40:22Speaker 3: So today's think about it Thursdays. What is your favorite
- 40:25Speaker 3: postgame or pregame or weekly press conference moment of all
- 40:29Speaker 3: time in sports?
- 40:29Speaker 1: Wow? Wow, so many to choose from. It's a good amount.
- 40:34Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 40:34Speaker 1: Take that for data. Data, Take that for data. Up there.
- 40:38Speaker 1: I'm a man, I'm forty man. Yeah, Mike Gundy Yeah,
- 40:42Speaker 1: and of course Tiger Woods for me. I'm a man.
- 40:48Speaker 2: I'm for.
- 40:51Speaker 1: Edwards.
- 40:52Speaker 3: Herm Edwards. You play to win the game?
- 40:55Speaker 1: Hello, yes, hell, yes, But we're just talking like we're
- 40:58Speaker 1: just throwing out things. Aren't we supposed to be thinking
- 41:00Speaker 1: about the greatest press conference? This is just bit of
- 41:05Speaker 1: a lazy river here. Take them in data. If we
- 41:08Speaker 1: were competing, I've got the winner.
- 41:11Speaker 4: Do you what other press conference or postgame situation did
- 41:15Speaker 4: you have one coach tell another coach, I'll kill you, okay,
- 41:19Speaker 4: John Calipari and John Cheney simple versus UMAs. And they
- 41:23Speaker 4: had a shirtless super skinny Eddie Jones among other players
- 41:27Speaker 4: coming in to break them up.
- 41:29Speaker 1: Because the two coaches were going to kill each other.
- 41:31Speaker 1: A couple of jobs got it up.
- 41:34Speaker 3: My favorite by far, we have this sound. It was
- 41:37Speaker 3: Coastal Carolina's coach David Bennett the Best, wanting his team
- 41:41Speaker 3: to act more like dogs.
- 41:42Speaker 1: Is it?
- 41:44Speaker 8: Trying to get our two boys ready to car him
- 41:46Speaker 8: the golf tournament full press right twelve cast lift cross road.
- 41:50Speaker 1: Our door's open screens broke. We need to get a
- 41:52Speaker 1: new screen.
- 41:53Speaker 8: Door. But the screens broke, so you can come in
- 41:55Speaker 8: through the screen, but you can't get back out. I'll
- 41:57Speaker 8: turn to look, there's a little kitty cat in our
- 41:59Speaker 8: in our kitchen, So I said.
- 42:01Speaker 2: What are you doing in here?
- 42:02Speaker 1: A little kid cat.
- 42:04Speaker 8: By that time a cat turns tries to get back out,
- 42:07Speaker 8: that scream won't go that way. Cat starts going all crazy,
- 42:11Speaker 8: and I told our players we need more dogs.
- 42:13Speaker 1: Bows barging in the back out to go shut bow up.
- 42:16Speaker 1: I was like, what's going on? I said?
- 42:17Speaker 8: The cat and house cat in the house. I said,
- 42:19Speaker 8: it is a cat in the house. So I told
- 42:21Speaker 8: our players. I tried to let it out the front door.
- 42:23Speaker 1: Weird cat's still going crazy in there.
- 42:26Speaker 8: I told our players, you needy bit more like a dog.
- 42:29Speaker 8: We don't need a bunch of cats in here. Looking
- 42:31Speaker 8: in the mirror, I look good.
- 42:33Speaker 2: I got my extra bands on, I got my other's shoes.
- 42:37Speaker 1: Be a doll. We don't need no miwns.
- 42:40Speaker 8: We don't need no cats. We need more dolls.
- 42:45Speaker 1: That's a good one. I think we found our winner.
- 42:47Speaker 1: I mean, that's it. I mean, what's better than that
- 42:49Speaker 1: or worse? Yes?
- 42:50Speaker 3: Overall, I mean David Bennett had a pretty good coaching
- 42:54Speaker 3: career one twenty six and fifty six. Now he hasn't
- 42:56Speaker 3: coached since twenty sixteen, where he was in River Bloff
- 42:59Speaker 3: High School, well head coach in South Carolina.
- 43:02Speaker 4: But I've got short phrases that anybody can identify. Was
- 43:08Speaker 4: a sports press conference and along the lines of practice,
- 43:12Speaker 4: both teams played hard man Rasheed Wallace.
- 43:16Speaker 1: That one was great.
- 43:17Speaker 4: Yes, I'm just here so I don't get fined. That's
- 43:20Speaker 4: Marsha Lynch and we're on to Cincinnati.
- 43:25Speaker 1: What do you got Dan? Yeah, I've got one.
- 43:26Speaker 5: I don't care if it finishes bronze, but women's basketball.
- 43:29Speaker 5: If you remember Kevin bord Seth, he didn't want to
- 43:31Speaker 5: kill another coach. He wanted to kill the podium. That
- 43:35Speaker 5: you could hear when he took to the stage.
- 43:38Speaker 1: That's right, damn sick.
- 43:41Speaker 4: And tired of getting it rebounded twenty five offensive rebounds.
- 43:45Speaker 1: First time we block out.
- 43:46Speaker 4: We get called front damn blockout for pushing people.
- 43:51Speaker 5: Yeah there's more, but you heard the podium slam. I
- 43:54Speaker 5: know we're pressed for time here, but one of my
- 43:57Speaker 5: all time favorites.
- 43:58Speaker 3: Has anybody mentioned Dennis Green the Bear?
- 44:03Speaker 1: That's why we took the damn field? Yes? Did anyone
- 44:05Speaker 1: mention Randy Moss? Straight? Cash on me? Quick? Yell out
- 44:08Speaker 1: the name when I say this one. Thank you. That's
- 44:12Speaker 1: my quarterback man. You wow? What about playoffs? That one
- 44:19Speaker 1: we did? Did you?
- 44:20Speaker 8: Oh?
- 44:20Speaker 1: I'm sorry missed it. That's a staple.
- 44:23Speaker 3: I think Cheney. I think Cheney cal parties playoffs.
- 44:29Speaker 1: We couldn't do dittally pooh offensively. Yeah, you're gonna say
- 44:33Speaker 1: Taylor Cheney Calipari.
- 44:35Speaker 3: I think that's a gold medal. As much as I
- 44:37Speaker 3: love David Bennett right, it's it's one of those two.
- 44:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm not certain, I mean it might be ivers.
- 44:45Speaker 4: Hang on a second, did Mike Tyson tell us he
- 44:48Speaker 4: will lead our children?
- 44:48Speaker 1: He did?
- 44:49Speaker 4: Okay, I think that's that might be up there as well, and.
- 44:51Speaker 1: Multiple times and at the time he said it, I
- 44:53Speaker 1: believe them.
- 44:54Speaker 5: Kaway's laugh is giving us uh some fun as.
- 44:57Speaker 4: Well technically because it was post fight interview in the ring.
- 45:02Speaker 4: I broke my back the spinal that's got to be
- 45:05Speaker 4: on the podium on the metal stand.
- 45:07Speaker 3: If you want to crown him, then crown him.
- 45:09Speaker 1: But you have to love the coach that comes on
- 45:11Speaker 1: with his own sound effects war on a Cincinnati.

- 45:35Speaker 1: What happened there?
- 45:36Speaker 4: I had I had a little throat situation. Frog of
- 45:40Speaker 4: the throat, one of those Yeah, yeah, I tried to
- 45:42Speaker 4: be professional about it.
- 45:45Speaker 1: We were supposed to have Colin Coward here. I'm sorry
- 45:48Speaker 1: for pointing it out. Isn't he hope?
- 45:50Speaker 9: Please?
- 45:50Speaker 1: But we all noticed we were supposed to have Colin
- 45:54Speaker 1: Coward here. He has transportation issues. We hope that he's okay.
- 45:58Speaker 1: I'm being serious. He's fine, yes, but we'll be filling
- 46:01Speaker 1: in for him tomorrow. Unfortunately for Colin. Uh so, you
- 46:04Speaker 1: could expect this tomorrow on Colin Cowherd show. A little
- 46:08Speaker 1: game we like to call one table.
- 46:12Speaker 9: There's one table left at the hottest spot in town,
- 46:15Speaker 9: and everybody wants it. Who's getting it and who's getting left? Outside?
- 46:22Speaker 9: Greatness gets seated, everyone else waits. This is one table?
- 46:29Speaker 1: Did we tell him to sound like that? I talk
- 46:32Speaker 1: with that accent? What a jackass?
- 46:34Speaker 3: I think the requests that sound pretentious.
- 46:36Speaker 1: Yes they did nail it. Yes they deserve a raise.
- 46:42Speaker 1: I means, whose voice is it? I have no no
- 46:47Speaker 1: idea A big voice pop, big voice pop. Sorry sorry
- 46:50Speaker 1: for yelling at I'm tired anyway, Go ahead, Taylor set
- 46:54Speaker 1: it up.
- 46:54Speaker 3: Set the table so for people who aren't familiar. There's
- 46:57Speaker 3: one table at the hottest restaurant. Two people walk in.
- 47:01Speaker 3: We have to decide who gets the table. Yes, Stu gotts.
- 47:04Speaker 3: This one is in Indianapolis.
- 47:06Speaker 1: Wow.
- 47:07Speaker 3: Pat McAfee walks in. Wow, and the sheriff Peyton Manning
- 47:11Speaker 3: walks in. Who's getting that table?
- 47:12Speaker 1: McAfee, man Manning, Peyton Manning. I don't know.
- 47:18Speaker 3: McAfee built his show in Indianapolis.
- 47:21Speaker 4: He does have a lot of Indianapolis based guest Tyre's
- 47:24Speaker 4: Halliburton's there all the time.
- 47:25Speaker 1: Yeap he played there. I'm gonna say McAfee, I feel
- 47:30Speaker 1: like I mean Manning was a disappointment in Indianapolis. He
- 47:33Speaker 1: was and they were a super Bowl Yeah, but they
- 47:35Speaker 1: were expecting six. They only got one. And then he
- 47:37Speaker 1: won one in Denver.
- 47:38Speaker 4: I mean, is he bringing his son Marshall, because that
- 47:41Speaker 4: guy's a star. Have you guys seen Marshall Manning. No,
- 47:45Speaker 4: he's got all of his father's Oh.
- 47:49Speaker 1: Mike Marshall man It's amazing Marshall. I have to be
- 47:51Speaker 1: honest now, I thought he was talking about Marshall McAfee. No, no,
- 47:56Speaker 1: Marshall Manning.
- 47:56Speaker 4: He's got all of his dad's mannerisms. He looks exactly
- 47:59Speaker 4: like a height cool version of Peyton Manning.
- 48:01Speaker 3: Okay, Stu gotts if I told you in a weird
- 48:03Speaker 3: world the Jets could forego all three of their first
- 48:07Speaker 3: round draft picks next year to draft Marshall Manning.
- 48:10Speaker 1: Yes, a decade from now, when he's out done Deil yep,
- 48:14Speaker 1: I would right right right the second. He's only fifteen
- 48:17Speaker 1: right now. What's his name, Marshall Manning, Marshall. It is
- 48:20Speaker 1: a great name.
- 48:21Speaker 3: The sheriff gave up the Marshall.
- 48:23Speaker 1: Yeah, definitely named him. He did it like he did
- 48:27Speaker 1: it for that reason, and he named them Marshall us Marshall.
- 48:30Speaker 1: I think he named him after Eminem. We need to
- 48:33Speaker 1: find out if he had the nickname sheriff before or
- 48:36Speaker 1: after he named that kid. You know, it's a nod
- 48:40Speaker 1: thing to want to find out. I think Peyton gets
- 48:44Speaker 1: that table easily. Did you, thank you? Thank you?
- 48:48Speaker 3: You tell boblo to get on it, he said, anytime
- 48:51Speaker 3: you say the word finds out now it's just synonymous
- 48:53Speaker 3: with paba. So we were kind of split there. Let's
- 48:56Speaker 3: try to find more consensus on this next one. Okay,
- 48:59Speaker 3: this table's in Philadelphia, Brian Dawkins walks in, and then
- 49:05Speaker 3: Allen Iverson walks in.
- 49:06Speaker 1: Wow, So I think the easy I think people are
- 49:09Speaker 1: thinking that's easy. It's Iverson, But Brian Dawkins.
- 49:12Speaker 3: It's an Eagles town.
- 49:13Speaker 1: It's an Eagles town, football town. They love the Eagles. There.
- 49:16Speaker 1: Dawkins is he represents everything that city loves from a
- 49:20Speaker 1: football standpoint. So it's not as easy, and Iverson never won.
- 49:25Speaker 4: Iverson also ended his career with the Nuggets and Memphis.
- 49:29Speaker 4: I believe Brian Dawkins also ended his career in Denver. Yeah,
- 49:33Speaker 4: but he spent more time in Philly. Yeah, I'm saying Iverson.
- 49:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm saying Iverson to I feel like it's pretty
- 49:39Speaker 1: because you walk into the restaurant, You're like, hey, there's Iverson.
- 49:42Speaker 1: You walk into the restaurant. You could guess for you know,
- 49:44Speaker 1: till the end of time, until you get the Brian Dawkins.
- 49:47Speaker 1: You know.
- 49:47Speaker 3: Okay, so they just sat Iverson down. But who's that
- 49:51Speaker 3: walking in Jaws at the table?
- 49:54Speaker 1: Yes, Iverson gets up.
- 49:58Speaker 4: Out of respect or Brian Dawkins gets the other available table.
- 50:04Speaker 1: That's a difficult question.
- 50:06Speaker 3: So let's say let's say Iverson gets up Jaws sits down. Yes,
- 50:10Speaker 3: oh my god, this restaurant. People just keep walking in
- 50:13Speaker 3: South Palatonio just walked down.
- 50:15Speaker 1: Get the table. Wait, so Iverson is now standing, He
- 50:17Speaker 1: gets up. Jaws is sitting and South Pals now walked in. Arah.
- 50:20Speaker 1: This is amazing. So sath pallor Jaws Jaws gets up
- 50:24Speaker 1: for South Pal. He does. Yes, everybody gets up for yes, right, yes, yes.
- 50:29Speaker 1: If you don't, you might end up in a river.
- 50:30Speaker 4: I mean Southpal doesn't even like look over his newspaper.
- 50:35Speaker 4: He walks in newspaper in front of him and just
- 50:37Speaker 4: walks straight to the table.
- 50:38Speaker 3: And then Rocky Bobo walks in. He says, Southpal's here.
- 50:40Speaker 3: You've got to find a new restaurant.
