- joe: What's going on everybody? This is Big Joe from Hold Your Ground the Podcast where you get working class culture without all the bullshit. And today I am flying solo because we didn't want to leave you guys hanging and wondering where the fuck are these nerds? so I'll keep this short, but it ain't very sweet. You know, the the events of this past week, and by events I mean the Silver Rail Elementary School shooting in Bend, it it really hit home for all three of us. Luis and I both have children that are in school here, and Copy is a survivor of the Thurston High School shooting in nineteen ninety-eight. this is it's something like I said, it just it's hit all of us. On top of that We had the anniversary date of our friend Armenio being killed in Portland in twenty nineteen. You know, we spend so much of our lives carrying on because life has to carry on and pretending that everything's alright, go to work, pay the bills, do all that kind of shit. And sometimes things ain't all right. And we don't want to pretend here in this space with you guys. We didn't feel that we could really give our all into an episode and so we just fucking decided not to do one. You know, the We are at such a fucking weird place in society, you know, where we have the the youngest child to ever be killed in a school shooting. you know, we set that record last week, which isn't a fucking great record to set. And we've watched people belittle, make light of, and make fun of this child's death over a shirt that he's wearing. And it's something that I don't know, it's it's taken us a minute to fucking bounce back from. You know what I mean? Yeah. So I'm not gonna keep everybody here, but I wanted to fucking you know, like I said, we won we wanted. Just let you guys know that we're not done, we're just not putting out an episode this week. We will, however, be back next week with Jeremy Pinya of The Bandaloos. So that'll be a fun interview, and we'll be able to get back on our game. In closing I would like to say rest empower Armenia. Take the people who you love in your life and give them a fucking hug, man. Tell them that you love them. To all the families that are affected by the shooting and bend this past week, our hearts go out to you. We'll talk to you guys next week. Later.
