- 0:01Happy Saturday morning, everybody.
- 0:05The new Mobile 1 Racing coffee mug looks good up there, doesn't
- 0:09it? Looks good.
- 0:12All right, we're filling a lot of orders, well over hundreds of
- 0:16orders for the new Mobile One coffee mug.
- 0:19And of course, the Coffee with Kenny shirt.
- 0:21We had to order some more of those.
- 0:23So thank you all so much. Go to shopkennywallace.com and
- 0:28check us out. Well, I went and raced last
- 0:35night. I went to Brownstown, IL, the
- 0:38Brownstown Bullring. Would you look at Louie?
- 0:43Let's zoom in on Louie, see what he does.
- 0:52What you doing? What you doing?
- 1:00He's like, he's like get that damn thing off of me.
- 1:04I'm trying to relax. OK back to the Brownstown
- 1:11boring. Brownstown, IL Went there last
- 1:15night on Friday night and set QuickTime. 62 year old man sets
- 1:22QuickTime man, I ripped that damn lip and turns 1.
- 1:28I went down into turn one on the on the high side like, oh, Larry
- 1:32Mack say, you know, when I qualify, I'm a qualifying son
- 1:39bitch. You're going to have to do
- 1:40something to out qualify me. And here's why.
- 1:44I grew up in the in NASCAR in the early days where you had to
- 1:48qualify. Oh, yeah, all the the Bush train
- 1:52national races, all the Cup races, 50 to 60 cars, you know,
- 1:58for 3840 starting spots. So every week at all the Bush
- 2:03races, the Cup races, if you weren't in the points, you were
- 2:06going to go home. But I'd get in that car and oh,
- 2:11my God. I mean, I would.
- 2:14I wouldn't wish it upon my enemies.
- 2:17I mean, you dare to kill my family.
- 2:18But qualifying in in the NASCAR days, the glory days, was
- 2:24misery. Yeah.
- 2:26I had to cheat death, man. I remember Atlanta.
- 2:29You know, we'd go in the corners of Atlanta like 220 mile an
- 2:32hour. I'd always get in the car or
- 2:35seven race or seven cars before, you know my time to go out.
- 2:39So I'd go, I, I had a little rhythm.
- 2:41I'd go 123456 OK, get in the car.
- 2:44I'd get in and I'd go through a deal.
- 2:47I'd do all this, you know, I get all this tweaking out of me,
- 2:51stretch my neck muscles, fire that, fire that baby up and you
- 2:56know, and then they pat on your your hood of your car.
- 2:59They that you know, it go like this ago.
- 3:02That meant go start out in first gear.
- 3:09And I mean, now, now it's on And buddy, I can remember going into
- 3:14turn one in Atlanta all the time, just up over that hump and
- 3:18that bitch would land in man with you and you let off a
- 3:24little bit. Never all the way.
- 3:27And I mean, as soon as you let off, you just had you had to get
- 3:30back in it. And that old car would it would
- 3:33y'all out? Y'all means want to spin out.
- 3:35And I can feel it. You just go with it.
- 3:37It's like you, you I'd tell the car if you want to spin out,
- 3:41it's up to you car. But we got to go.
- 3:44And if it come around, we wrecked and we wrecked, but you
- 3:48had to lay that much gas to it, you know, to get a good time.
- 3:52It was like that everywhere, pretty, you know, Charlotte,
- 3:55Atlanta, you know, where, wherever you were going.
- 3:58But man, we would lay the gas to it and we were hauling ass.
- 4:02So I grew up like that. So when I went to qualify last
- 4:07night, what was it, 2526? Mods?
- 4:13Here's another one. We're coming home last night
- 4:16from Brownstown and Austin. He went and helped Austin and
- 4:21Roy. I don't know where Austin's in
- 4:24the back seat. He takes his phone and Austin
- 4:27brings his phone up and everybody is showing the video
- 4:31of me and Earnhardt. You know, when Earnhardt, Dale
- 4:34senior when he won his last race and Austin brings it up and I
- 4:39said, yeah, I said that's me. And I said here now is that the
- 4:44Brownstown Bullring tonight where they got 1 Porta Potti in,
- 4:48in the in the pit area? I mean, what Austin was saying,
- 4:53he goes, Herman, you're a big deal.
- 4:55Everybody's shown that, you know, you were a NASCAR driver
- 4:58and and I, I knew what he was doing.
- 5:01And I said, Yep, I said those were the days, my friend.
- 5:04He goes, I just forget how popular you are now.
- 5:07Listen it, I'm embarrassed to say that, but I just want to
- 5:11share that with you qualifying. And those aren't, you know, it's
- 5:15Talladega. The race in Talladega is, is
- 5:18tomorrow. So they're showing, you know,
- 5:21and I and I and I can't help it, they just show it.
- 5:24And Kenny Wallace, Kenny Wallace.
- 5:27So he's young, he's in his mid 20s.
- 5:33And he's like I said, Yep, that's the same guy that said
- 5:36quit time here at the Brownstown Bullring and in the in the in
- 5:42the pit area, there's one porta potty.
- 5:44You look down and there's some man's turd staring at you.
- 5:49It's brutal. These dirt tracks are just
- 5:51brutal. But this is the way it is.
- 5:54This is the real world set QuickTime one my heat.
- 6:05Wouldn't you know it, you go across the scales.
- 6:07When you go across the scales, they got a bag.
- 6:10You reach in there, I pull out five they invert the top six
- 6:16anyway I drew five run 9 didn't run good I just didn't run good
- 6:23that's all there is to it I you know I got my excuses, but you
- 6:27don't want need to hear them so that's that but hey it's all
- 6:32going good it's a good start to the year.
- 6:33The mobile 1 dirt cart is fast. We won the feature last week,
- 6:38run 9th this week and going to peevely tonight.
- 6:42I I-55 Federated Auto Parts Raceway Park, 6 minutes and 50
- 6:53seconds. That's the longest monologue
- 6:54I've ever done in my life. All right, just a couple minutes
- 7:00here, everybody. Big news in the garage area.
- 7:05It happens all the time to me. I mean, the president, OK, we
- 7:11got a new we got a new president of NASCAR, Steve O'Donnell.
- 7:16Steve O'donnell's taking over for Jim France.
- 7:20So the way it's going to go now is this will be the first time
- 7:24in the history of NASCAR that somebody that is not a NASCAR
- 7:29family member is the president of NASCAR.
- 7:32So, so congratulations to Steve O'Donnell, the new president of
- 7:36NASCAR. And then and then Ben Kennedy is
- 7:40going to be right behind him. And of course, that is a family
- 7:44member of NASCAR. And Jim France is going to enjoy
- 7:49his life now, which he he he should enjoy it.
- 7:54And I got to be honest, I'm just going to say it the way I feel
- 7:57it. I like Jim France a lot.
- 8:00But boy, I'll tell you what, there's something about, you
- 8:05know, modern thinking. And I think Steve O'Donnell is
- 8:10the man for the job. I think Steve O'Donnell is the
- 8:13man for the job. Steve, I'm just going to say it.
- 8:17Steve's a good friend of mine. We text each other all the time.
- 8:20That's what I'm laughing at. I'll never forget Chip, while he
- 8:26was my PR guy at Bill Davis and he becomes the president of
- 8:30NASCAR. Paul Doshaw, good friend of mine
- 8:35at Toyota, we text each other all the time and all of a sudden
- 8:38they announcing the president of Toyota.
- 8:42And here's Steve O'Donnell and myself, we text each other all
- 8:44the time. And if some bitch is now the
- 8:47president of NASCAR, Jesus, I got hey, I got friends in big
- 8:52places. Everybody as they say down
- 8:58South, Louie, show me his ass. Get down young Louie.
- 9:03Show me his ass Louis. As I say down South everything
- 9:09be I it be I see at I-55 Federated Auto Parts Raceway
- 9:17Park tonight. Have a great Saturday everyone.
