- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:05Speaker 1: Michael Bumpus.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Playfake going to roll right, dumps it off into the
- 0:08Speaker 2: right flaf to Michael Bumpers, who bounces off of one tackler,
- 0:11Speaker 2: gets inside the forty down of the thirty five yard line.
- 0:14Speaker 3: Powered by Seahawks dot Com, Matt pump fakes looking at.
- 0:17Speaker 2: The gold line.
- 0:17Speaker 1: He throws it into the m zone. Touchdown, Say Hawks.
- 0:20Speaker 3: It's Michael Thumpas with a diving catching the end zone.
- 0:24Speaker 3: A ten yard touchdown reception for Bumpers, and the kid
- 0:27Speaker 3: out of Washington State has found himself a place.
- 0:30Speaker 2: On this team.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Now here's your host, Nasa Jovie.
- 0:34Speaker 3: What welcome into another edition of Hawk Talk, getting you
- 0:38Speaker 3: ready for the Seahawks in the forty nine ers on
- 0:41Speaker 3: Thursday Football this week, bump But unfortunately we do have
- 0:44Speaker 3: to spend a little bit of time on what happened
- 0:46Speaker 3: last Sunday. I'm not gonna let to you. I am
- 0:50Speaker 3: the team without question, did not overlook the Giants.
- 0:53Speaker 1: But I did.
- 0:53Speaker 2: I did, Yeah, I did. I didn't.
- 0:56Speaker 4: I knew that the D line was gonna be good,
- 0:58Speaker 4: of course, but I didn't realize that D line would
- 1:00Speaker 4: essentially win the game for these guys. Yes, Daniel Jones,
- 1:02Speaker 4: it is thing. Yes Robinson showed up. Yes Slayton showed
- 1:06Speaker 4: up as well. But I thought that we'd be okay,
- 1:09Speaker 4: that would be okay.
- 1:11Speaker 3: Obviously disappointing. We know the Seahawks didn't play to their capabilities.
- 1:15Speaker 1: It was unfortunate.
- 1:16Speaker 3: So we'll try to hustle through this kind of spare
- 1:18Speaker 3: you this a little bit.
- 1:19Speaker 1: But we got to touch on it real quick. What
- 1:20Speaker 1: had happened, See what happened at first what happened was
- 1:25Speaker 1: what had happened was unhawked talk, so bump for me.
- 1:29Speaker 3: I feel like every season for almost every football team
- 1:31Speaker 3: at any level that's pee wee, middle school, high school,
- 1:34Speaker 3: Division one, two, three, naia, you name it.
- 1:37Speaker 4: All the pros got them all covered. Arena arena too.
- 1:41Speaker 3: Yes, you're gonna have a game where you just go, man,
- 1:43Speaker 3: you're gonna kicking yourself there in the season. You're like,
- 1:46Speaker 3: we're gonna really be sad about that one, and you know,
- 1:48Speaker 3: hopefully it's not gonna hurt the Seahawks later in the season.
- 1:51Speaker 3: But usually every team every season has one of those games.
- 1:53Speaker 3: This was that game on Sunday for the Seahawks right
- 1:56Speaker 3: out the gate. The Seahawks would punt on their first drive.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Then the Giants would go sixteen plays seventy nine yards
- 2:02Speaker 3: all the way down the field, which included converting on
- 2:05Speaker 3: a third and seventeen, but on fourth and goal for
- 2:08Speaker 3: the one yard line, Eric Gray got the ball punched
- 2:10Speaker 3: out Jerome Baker bump. I didn't react at all because
- 2:13Speaker 3: I just knew it was getting called back.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:14Speaker 2: I'm looking for flags all day.
- 2:15Speaker 3: I didn't see one but a mice getting called back. Nope,
- 2:17Speaker 3: your boy ray Sean picks it up with a club
- 2:20Speaker 3: on his hand. So first of all, just throwing that
- 2:22Speaker 3: out there. Anyone who's ever played a game with like
- 2:24Speaker 3: a club or something on your hand, you know, have
- 2:26Speaker 3: your hands out there. I didn't realize you have the
- 2:28Speaker 3: club when it's hand smooth. Look it up, man, I
- 2:30Speaker 3: mean it was just wrapped up. He didn't. I mean,
- 2:32Speaker 3: it was just no finger nothing. He picked it up,
- 2:34Speaker 3: runs it smooth. Longest return in Seahawk's history one hundred
- 2:38Speaker 3: yard touchdown better be.
- 2:41Speaker 1: I mean, well, no, I should say that longest were touchdown.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Defensively, Tyler Lockett had one hundred and five yard return
- 2:47Speaker 3: touchdown those longer, so the longest defensive touch Okay, but
- 2:50Speaker 3: that made the score seven zero, and then the next
- 2:52Speaker 3: two drives ended punts. But the Giants would respond with
- 2:55Speaker 3: another eight play eighty one yard drive forever, this time
- 2:57Speaker 3: ending with a seven yard touchdown to Wanda, and that
- 3:00Speaker 3: tied things up at seven.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:02Speaker 4: Man, Then the Giants will kick a field goal, and
- 3:04Speaker 4: the Hawks will respond right before the half with a
- 3:07Speaker 4: field goal of their own, going forty five yards and
- 3:09Speaker 4: twenty seconds to tie it up at ten.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Things wouldn't go well for the Hawks in third quarter. Now.
- 3:14Speaker 4: The Seahawks got to stop on the first possession, but
- 3:16Speaker 4: then would turn the ball over after DK would fumble.
- 3:19Speaker 4: People are questioning his ball security. You keep fighting for yards, DK.
- 3:24Speaker 4: People are asking me today, Oh, what are you gonna do?
- 3:25Speaker 4: You're gonna bench them? Come on, come on now, get
- 3:29Speaker 4: out of here. If you ever come up to me
- 3:31Speaker 4: on the streets and ask me something like that, I'm
- 3:32Speaker 4: just gonna eat a blank stare. I'm a and we're
- 3:35Speaker 4: moving on to the next okay, man. But the Giants
- 3:38Speaker 4: took advantage and they march down the field. They go
- 3:40Speaker 4: four plays, seventy seven yard drive any with a thirty
- 3:43Speaker 4: yard touchdown to Darius Slaton.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Slaton ballt on Sunday Man.
- 3:47Speaker 4: That made the score seventeen to ten, both teams within
- 3:50Speaker 4: trade field goals, but then disastrous strike for the Seahawks.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Going forward on fourth and one.
- 3:54Speaker 4: I wasn't even mad at the fourth and one go
- 3:56Speaker 4: for it on the thirty five yard line. Gino was
- 3:58Speaker 4: sacked by Brian Burns and Seahawks turned the ball over
- 4:01Speaker 4: on downs. Was not mad at the fourth and one.
- 4:04Speaker 4: Felt like they would bring pressure. I'm sure Grub would
- 4:06Speaker 4: run it back and call something completely different. Ie Mike
- 4:09Speaker 4: McDonald say, yeah, we probably didn't handle that the way
- 4:11Speaker 4: he wanted to, but I like the aggressiveness.
- 4:14Speaker 2: I wasn't mad at the decision. Wells tinsight, right, Yeah.
- 4:16Speaker 3: If Burns plays it differently, he crashes down the line
- 4:19Speaker 3: to screamage something happened. You know, it's a clean look.
- 4:21Speaker 3: It's the first down. We're not having this conversation. Unfortunately,
- 4:23Speaker 3: that's what happened. The Seahawks went not be able to convert,
- 4:25Speaker 3: but the defense did come up big help them to
- 4:27Speaker 3: a field goal, So that made a two possession game
- 4:29Speaker 3: at twenty three to thirteen. Then After trading punts, the
- 4:31Speaker 3: Seahawks offense would finally resemble themselves, going on a fourteen
- 4:34Speaker 3: play ninety five yard drive that ended with a five
- 4:36Speaker 3: yard touchdown the Jackson Smith and Jigbob. It was a
- 4:39Speaker 3: shame that we didn't see that earlier in the game,
- 4:41Speaker 3: but they're playing with desperation and they got it done
- 4:43Speaker 3: when they needed to that May to score twenty three
- 4:44Speaker 3: to twenty. The Seahawks defense would finally set up get
- 4:47Speaker 3: a huge stop, forcing the Giants to punt bump and
- 4:50Speaker 3: down three points. Seahawks getting the ball back at two timeouts.
- 4:53Speaker 3: Buck forty left, I'm like, we're winning this thing.
- 4:55Speaker 2: It's a rap.
- 4:56Speaker 3: Then Gino runs thirty two yards in that scramble, helped
- 4:59Speaker 3: out by Jays. That is that's teach tape.
- 5:01Speaker 4: Right, That is that is awareness. That is awareness. On
- 5:04Speaker 4: ninety eight on Matten, he's running down the field, he
- 5:07Speaker 4: sees that Geno scrambling, He digs even harder, throws the
- 5:10Speaker 4: hand up. Eyes got big, like he's really catching a
- 5:13Speaker 4: football to two defenders with him.
- 5:15Speaker 2: That added at least ten twelve yards for that run.
- 5:17Speaker 3: Yeah, and anyone making fun of the defenders there if
- 5:19Speaker 3: Jackson Smith and Jagba is running past me.
- 5:21Speaker 1: He is throwing his hands up.
- 5:22Speaker 3: I'm doing the same thing, sure, because in your head
- 5:24Speaker 3: you're thinking oh no, oh no.
- 5:26Speaker 2: And he's got a step on them.
- 5:27Speaker 1: All right.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Yeah, so I mean, great play head to play there.
- 5:30Speaker 3: But at that point you're feeling pretty good. Then there's
- 5:32Speaker 3: an incomplete pass to Jason on thirty and four and
- 5:34Speaker 3: the Seahawks would have to settle for a field to
- 5:36Speaker 3: tie the game. My mind immediately switched over to like, okay, defense,
- 5:39Speaker 3: you got to come out there and get another stop,
- 5:41Speaker 3: a time up on the clock, and of course I
- 5:43Speaker 3: looked too ahead because the kick was blocked ran back
- 5:46Speaker 3: for a touchdown. Seahawks fall of the Giants twenty nine
- 5:48Speaker 3: to twenty. Bump and coach McDonald spoke about it after
- 5:51Speaker 3: the game. It's a legal play. Unfortunate they schemed well.
- 5:55Speaker 3: They won that matchup, but it definitely makes me think
- 5:58Speaker 3: that you're going to see that across the league everywhere,
- 5:59Speaker 3: because it happened to the Giants last year and they
- 6:01Speaker 3: lost the game because of it. So definitely think it's
- 6:04Speaker 3: a technique that we're gonna see moving forward. Teams are
- 6:06Speaker 3: gonna start coaching it.
- 6:07Speaker 4: And then the other team's gotta start coaching it up,
- 6:10Speaker 4: like be ready for this, get your head up, you know,
- 6:12Speaker 4: see what you're blocking.
- 6:14Speaker 2: And yeah, the Giants just put everybody on notice.
- 6:17Speaker 3: Yeah, that was that was tough. Seahawks lost time possession. Overall,
- 6:20Speaker 3: not a great day for the Seahawks, but even though
- 6:23Speaker 3: things didn't completely go the way, there was still some
- 6:25Speaker 3: playmakers touch.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Playmakers down Holy We'll start with the quarterbacks.
- 6:38Speaker 3: You know Smith, he was twenty eight to forty two
- 6:40Speaker 3: and eighty four yards in one touchdown. He had four
- 6:43Speaker 3: carries and seventy two yards bump career high in rushing
- 6:46Speaker 3: yards for the big man.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Let the team baby.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Almost led to the Seahawks in the game winning drive, game
- 6:50Speaker 3: time drive. That's what he normally does. In this case,
- 6:53Speaker 3: they had a set of full field goal and that
- 6:55Speaker 3: was blocked. Unfortunately, Gino was sax seven times on the day,
- 6:58Speaker 3: so it definitely was the smoothest game. It was hard
- 7:00Speaker 3: to stay on the field offensively. That was in big
- 7:02Speaker 3: part to the Giants defensive front Dexter Lawrence getting in there,
- 7:06Speaker 3: Brian Burns, all those guys causing havoc.
- 7:09Speaker 1: But you know, Jim did okay last game.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Yeah, Gina was fine, man.
- 7:12Speaker 4: You mentioned he completed seventy percent of his passes, had
- 7:15Speaker 4: some big throws, one to Tyler Lockett. Tyler Lockett at
- 7:18Speaker 4: four receptions for seventy five yards on six targets with
- 7:21Speaker 4: a long of thirty three. Lockett had a Lockett type
- 7:24Speaker 4: of game, very solid, a quiet kind of seventy five.
- 7:26Speaker 4: He did have a big play, but Gino Lockett on
- 7:30Speaker 4: the same page looked good.
- 7:31Speaker 2: And then Jerome Baker welcome back.
- 7:33Speaker 4: Fourteen tackles, eight solo, one sack, one QB hit a
- 7:36Speaker 4: force fumble. That was his first game back since Week
- 7:40Speaker 4: two against the Patriots. So I'm good to see Baker back, man.
- 7:43Speaker 4: He brought a little pop to this game. On defense.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Yeah, you know what I love about Baker.
- 7:48Speaker 3: The hand tape, no gloves, the raw make you feel
- 7:51Speaker 3: like he's okay about to smack somebody. But good to
- 7:54Speaker 3: see Jerome Baker back out on a defense. Defenses not
- 7:56Speaker 3: the same without him. Rayshawn Jenkins. He had the five tackles,
- 7:59Speaker 3: one thumber recovery, obviously the longest touchdown in club history.
- 8:03Speaker 3: Second longest return overall by Tyler Lockett I mentioned earlier
- 8:06Speaker 3: with one hundred and five yard kickoff return. It was
- 8:09Speaker 3: only one of two touchdowns on the day, so I
- 8:11Speaker 3: have big ups the race on there. Then you had
- 8:13Speaker 3: Derek call six tackles, a four solo, one sack, one TfL,
- 8:16Speaker 3: two QB hits. Hoping Derek is back this week, Bump.
- 8:19Speaker 3: He's really taking that next step this year with the Seahawks.
- 8:23Speaker 3: So looking good there, and then we'll wrap it up
- 8:25Speaker 3: sorrow dots in nine tackles, one sack, one TfL and
- 8:28Speaker 3: one QB hit.
- 8:30Speaker 1: So Bump, we did it.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Yep.
- 8:31Speaker 1: We talked about it, flushing it.
- 8:33Speaker 2: It's gone gone.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Teams already flush it.
- 8:36Speaker 3: They are on the San Francisco forty nine ers, and
- 8:39Speaker 3: that is what's on tap.
- 8:44Speaker 1: What's on tap?
- 8:46Speaker 3: San Francisco forty nine ers two and three second place
- 8:50Speaker 3: in the NFC West.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Wouldn't be me.
- 8:52Speaker 3: They lost win over the Jets, lost of the Vikings
- 8:55Speaker 3: Los Angeles Rams, and lost of the Cardinals win over
- 8:58Speaker 3: the New England Patriots, and Bump, I think this team,
- 9:01Speaker 3: as we.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Know, it's way more talented than that record.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure.
- 9:04Speaker 1: They had a lot going on in this offseason.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Me and you've kind of talked about this a little
- 9:07Speaker 3: bit throughout these you know, what's the word in the West,
- 9:09Speaker 3: Brandon AYUK, Trent Williams contract holdouts. Then you had Christian
- 9:12Speaker 3: mc McCaffrey going to Germany trying to figure out that
- 9:16Speaker 3: Achilles tendon ightis doing.
- 9:17Speaker 4: Illegal stuff over there. You going to Germany to get
- 9:20Speaker 4: something done?
- 9:21Speaker 1: You know, some would say maybe just progressive way to
- 9:24Speaker 1: look at it. I don't know, I don't know, but you.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Can't do it here. That's why you're going over there.
- 9:29Speaker 1: He's trying to figure it out.
- 9:30Speaker 3: All right, man, well's healthy, just not this week we
- 9:32Speaker 3: get and he won't because they ruled him out, So
- 9:33Speaker 3: we're safe there you go. But yeah, he's obviously difference
- 9:36Speaker 3: maker and they're not the same team without him. But
- 9:38Speaker 3: they're still loaded weapons all over the field. But bump,
- 9:40Speaker 3: they are owed and to in the NFC West because
- 9:43Speaker 3: of what happened last week against the Cardinals.
- 9:44Speaker 2: All right, this game was weird, man. It was a
- 9:46Speaker 2: head scratcher.
- 9:47Speaker 4: The Cardinals team who was just embarrassed at home forty
- 9:49Speaker 4: two to fourteen against the Washington Commanders last week, went
- 9:53Speaker 4: to Cali meet the Niners twenty four to twenty three.
- 9:56Speaker 2: That was our first win against.
- 9:57Speaker 4: The forty nine Ers is twenty twenty one, and this
- 10:00Speaker 4: marked the second time this season that San Francisco blew
- 10:02Speaker 4: a double digit lead in the fourth quarter to a
- 10:04Speaker 4: division ridle rival, having done it in Week three against
- 10:08Speaker 4: the Rams Man the Niners bad tendencies, get off of it,
- 10:11Speaker 4: don't do it.
- 10:11Speaker 2: I'll actually do it again. We'll do it again this week.
- 10:14Speaker 4: Niners lost this one division game the past two seasons
- 10:17Speaker 4: when winning NFC West titles, but are zero and two
- 10:19Speaker 4: already this year after the six blown double digit win
- 10:22Speaker 4: lead in the fourth quarter in the regular season and
- 10:25Speaker 4: playoffs under Kyle Shanahan. This sing what they do, but
- 10:28Speaker 4: for some reason it's popping up this year. Yeah, and
- 10:31Speaker 4: you got to be concerned. If you're a Niner, if
- 10:32Speaker 4: you're a Seahawk, you're looking at this and saying you're
- 10:34Speaker 4: never out the game. So if you're up a score
- 10:37Speaker 4: or two scores on Thursday, you don't panic. The Niners
- 10:40Speaker 4: might keep you in this game. The Niners were shut
- 10:43Speaker 4: out in the second half. The forty nine Ers second
- 10:45Speaker 4: half drive and win interception downs, nope, fumble interception.
- 10:50Speaker 2: It was crazy for the Niners. Man.
- 10:52Speaker 3: Yeah, you know their offense is so explosive. So when
- 10:55Speaker 3: you saw it like we're obviously working the seas galom
- 10:57Speaker 3: keeping an eye on their score, and then once the
- 10:59Speaker 3: night go up ten, you go, okay, this game's over right,
- 11:02Speaker 3: but the Niners stuck in it. Kyler Murray led the
- 11:04Speaker 3: Cardinals with a game winning drive, going fourteen plays seventy
- 11:07Speaker 3: five yards, making the score twenty four to twenty three
- 11:09Speaker 3: with one thirty seven left the regulation. Knowing the Niners
- 11:12Speaker 3: getting the football back in the NFL, that might might
- 11:14Speaker 3: as well be an eternity down one point, just needing
- 11:16Speaker 3: a fuelgal to win. Whoever brock Party would throw an
- 11:19Speaker 3: interception two plays after having a pass tip picked up
- 11:22Speaker 3: by Kaizer White. Murray finished the day nineteen of thirty
- 11:25Speaker 3: one hundred and ninety five yards, one touchdown, one interception.
- 11:29Speaker 3: He also had eighty three yards rushing on seven carries
- 11:31Speaker 3: on one touchdown, which included a fifty yard touchdown where
- 11:33Speaker 3: he threw up the Peace signed dog at the line
- 11:36Speaker 3: of scrimmage.
- 11:37Speaker 2: That is so disrespectful.
- 11:38Speaker 4: He saw the speed, he saw the field, he knows
- 11:41Speaker 4: his speed, saw the angles. He did math in zero
- 11:44Speaker 4: point five seconds and said we're good. Check the deuce
- 11:47Speaker 4: up man I wish I was ever that fast to
- 11:49Speaker 4: do something like that for real, man, what that feel like?
- 11:50Speaker 1: I would know? I would have got hot like five yards.
- 11:53Speaker 3: James Conrad today also nineteen carries eighty six yards, and
- 11:57Speaker 3: for the forty nine ers Brock party, he went nineteen
- 11:59Speaker 3: of thirty five. I have two hundred and forty four
- 12:01Speaker 3: yards one touchdown in two interceptions. Jordan Mason had fourteen
- 12:04Speaker 3: carries for eighty nine yards, and then Brandon.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Dyuk showed up.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Bump had his best game of the season, eight receptions
- 12:10Speaker 3: one hundred and forty seven yards.
- 12:11Speaker 4: In the defeat, Ayuk went crazy. He got them, He
- 12:14Speaker 4: got them season legs. Now, he's good. You know I
- 12:17Speaker 4: need to get some reps?
- 12:17Speaker 2: Are you? Goodness? Gracious?
- 12:19Speaker 1: Let's look at this head to head ump.
- 12:22Speaker 3: The Seahawks offensively still up there, seventh overall in the
- 12:26Speaker 3: Nation Football League three hundred and seventy six yards average
- 12:28Speaker 3: on offense running the ball lower than you'd like, twenty second,
- 12:33Speaker 3: one hundred and five yards on the ground. Passing offense
- 12:35Speaker 3: still up there, third in the NFL at two hundred
- 12:37Speaker 3: and seventy yards per game. In points per game, they
- 12:39Speaker 3: are eleventh. When you look at the forty nine ers,
- 12:41Speaker 3: they're still a force to be reckoned with on offense,
- 12:43Speaker 3: second overall offense in the league, four hundred and seven
- 12:46Speaker 3: yards per game, eighth best rushing attack at one hundred
- 12:49Speaker 3: and forty four yards without Christian McCaffrey. Pass offense their
- 12:53Speaker 3: fourth two hundred and sixty three yards per game, and
- 12:55Speaker 3: points per game twenty fifth, so their tenth. So the Niners,
- 12:59Speaker 3: they're not putting the record, you know it's two and three,
- 13:02Speaker 3: but we obviously know this team is more talents of
- 13:03Speaker 3: that offensively, and they can put up points to the
- 13:06Speaker 3: drop of the hat.
- 13:07Speaker 4: Yeah, nine has been putting up points since like eighty seven.
- 13:09Speaker 4: This is what the Niners do. Apparently. Defensively, they're ninth overall,
- 13:13Speaker 4: ninth against the run, twelfth against the pass, and twelfth
- 13:16Speaker 4: when it comes to opponents scoring points, opponents are averaging
- 13:19Speaker 4: twenty one point two. The Hawks still a top ten
- 13:22Speaker 4: defense overall, twentieth against the run, seventh against the pass,
- 13:26Speaker 4: seventeenth when it comes to points, allowing opponents opponents to
- 13:29Speaker 4: score twenty two point eight points per game.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Time of possession.
- 13:34Speaker 4: Thirty four minutes for the Niners, twenty eight for your Seahawks.
- 13:37Speaker 4: Niners have four interceptions. Hawks have two interceptions. That's still
- 13:41Speaker 4: something that needs to get right. Take the ball away,
- 13:44Speaker 4: need more takeaways, no.
- 13:45Speaker 3: Question about it. And Perty has four interceptions on the year.
- 13:48Speaker 3: And when the Niners lose is typically when they turn
- 13:51Speaker 3: the football over. These teams NFC West rivals. Obviously there's
- 13:55Speaker 3: plenty of history between them. Let's get to know it,
- 13:57Speaker 3: no your history. Seahawks lead the all time series twenty
- 14:02Speaker 3: nine to twenty one in the regular season. Postseason matchups
- 14:04Speaker 3: are tied at one including the playoffs. The forty nine
- 14:07Speaker 3: Ers Bump unfortunately, have won five straight matchups against the Seahawks.
- 14:11Speaker 3: But before that, I like to really remind my forty
- 14:15Speaker 3: nine er friends that are in my life that from
- 14:18Speaker 3: twenty twelve to twenty twenty one, the Seahawks were seventeen
- 14:21Speaker 3: and three and the group traps were quiet there.
- 14:23Speaker 2: It was hush.
- 14:24Speaker 1: It was quiet for about a decade. So they've revived.
- 14:27Speaker 3: Obviously, you know, it is what it is Niner fans
- 14:29Speaker 3: out there, but that's what it is. And rightfully so
- 14:32Speaker 3: right now they've held the advantage. The last game, the
- 14:34Speaker 3: Seahawks went down to Clinton Santa Clair and lost twenty
- 14:37Speaker 3: eight to sixteen last season, and the Seahawks did all
- 14:40Speaker 3: they could to keep it close.
- 14:41Speaker 1: You're without Geno Smith.
- 14:42Speaker 3: Drew Lock started that game put up a solid effort
- 14:45Speaker 3: twenty two to thirty one, two hundred and sixty nine yards,
- 14:47Speaker 3: two touchdowns.
- 14:48Speaker 1: However, you also had two picks. It was fourteen to
- 14:50Speaker 1: ten at halftime.
- 14:51Speaker 3: It was close to Niners, though right away out a
- 14:54Speaker 3: halftime long drive Deebo Samuel touchdown, they made it twenty
- 14:57Speaker 3: one to ten, but the Seahawks did respond quickly by
- 15:00Speaker 3: I the best play call that we saw on.
- 15:02Speaker 1: The Shane Waller.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Yeah, that was nice.
- 15:03Speaker 1: Without question.
- 15:04Speaker 3: The Niners run a play against the Seahawks the year before.
- 15:07Speaker 3: You fake a screen one way, fake a screen the
- 15:09Speaker 3: other side, hate the tight end team in the middle
- 15:11Speaker 3: for a touchdown. The Seahawks did that with Kobe Parkinson
- 15:14Speaker 3: for twenty five yard touchdown. Two point try failed. The
- 15:17Speaker 3: Seahawks trailed by just five, but the Niners would answer
- 15:19Speaker 3: in a three play touchdown drive with a forty four
- 15:22Speaker 3: yard score to George Kittle. Seahawks were kind of outmatched
- 15:25Speaker 3: up outmanned that matchup that brought that season to the
- 15:28Speaker 3: fourth game they lost in a row. Kind of brought
- 15:30Speaker 3: the season to a halt. The Seahawks kind of fought
- 15:32Speaker 3: back later in the year. Just was not enough. But
- 15:35Speaker 3: a lot of different players in this game, right obviously,
- 15:38Speaker 3: coach McDonald, completely different staff, a lot of different players.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Even for the forty nine ers. While it's pretty similar,
- 15:44Speaker 3: you're not gonna have McCaffrey. You have a new defensive
- 15:46Speaker 3: coordinator and former Seahawks defensive back coach Nick Sorenson. Our
- 15:50Speaker 3: guy kJ Wright is over there on the which is
- 15:55Speaker 3: so weird to me.
- 15:55Speaker 2: It is weird.
- 15:58Speaker 4: In the mayor with that, Polo be like, this is different. Yeah,
- 16:02Speaker 4: I used to hate these guys. I know it's business though.
- 16:05Speaker 3: It is what it is. Well, we still love you,
- 16:07Speaker 3: k still love kJ. But let's figure out what happened
- 16:09Speaker 3: in the rest of the nscu's what's.
- 16:10Speaker 2: The word the Seahawks or the NFC West Champs again.
- 16:19Speaker 1: What's the word in the west On Hawk talk?
- 16:23Speaker 4: Hey, things are changing, but they remaining the same at
- 16:26Speaker 4: the same time. In the division, the Seahawks three and
- 16:29Speaker 4: two at the top, Cardinals two and three, Niners two
- 16:32Speaker 4: and three, and the Rams are one and four. Man,
- 16:35Speaker 4: that is crazy. The Rams one and four. They always
- 16:37Speaker 4: find a way to kind of climb out of a hole.
- 16:39Speaker 4: Last year there were with three and three. We talked
- 16:41Speaker 4: to JB. Long and we kind of laughed at them.
- 16:44Speaker 4: All the Rams are gonna make the playoffs, and then
- 16:45Speaker 4: they make the playoffs.
- 16:47Speaker 1: They did.
- 16:47Speaker 4: Yeah, but the division is crazy. But the Hawks are
- 16:50Speaker 4: still at the top of this thing. Let's let's revisit
- 16:52Speaker 4: what happened to the Rams last week. The Packers at
- 16:55Speaker 4: the Rams. The Packers went down to La and got
- 16:57Speaker 4: the job done twenty four to nineteen against the Rams.
- 17:00Speaker 4: With the score tight at seven, late in the second quarter,
- 17:02Speaker 4: Jordan Love threw a pick six. That was a disturbing
- 17:06Speaker 4: pick six too. It was a bad I get what
- 17:09Speaker 4: he was doing. He's in the end zone, he's rolling
- 17:11Speaker 4: to the right. He's trying to toss it out of
- 17:13Speaker 4: bounce Will Levis style. Because Will Levis did like the
- 17:16Speaker 4: same thing. He kind of underhands it. Easiest pick six
- 17:19Speaker 4: I've ever seen from a dB phil bad for Jordan,
- 17:22Speaker 4: but it is what it is.
- 17:24Speaker 2: That is football.
- 17:25Speaker 4: The Packers would then score the next seventeen points and
- 17:28Speaker 4: go a twenty four to thirteen Late in the fourth quarter.
- 17:31Speaker 4: The Rams will get back into the ball game with
- 17:33Speaker 4: eleven play ninety one yard drive that ended with a
- 17:36Speaker 4: DeMarcus Robinson touchdown that made the score twenty four to nineteen.
- 17:40Speaker 4: The Rams would get a stop on the next Packer
- 17:43Speaker 4: drive and get the ball back With two minutes and
- 17:45Speaker 4: fifty seven seconds left in the fourth quarter. They were
- 17:48Speaker 4: down five, but it wasn't meant to be for the
- 17:50Speaker 4: Rams man. They turned the ball over on downs eleven
- 17:53Speaker 4: plays on their final possession. Matthew Stafford finished the day
- 17:55Speaker 4: twenty nine to forty five two hundo sixty yards, one
- 17:58Speaker 4: touchdown win in reception whims low key balling this year, people,
- 18:03Speaker 4: I mean check check this young man out. He let
- 18:06Speaker 4: all rushes with one hundred and two yards, twenty two
- 18:08Speaker 4: carris and one touchdowns for the Packers. Jordan Love finished
- 18:10Speaker 4: the day fifteen to twenty six, twenty to twenty four yards,
- 18:13Speaker 4: two touchdowns, one interception, and Josh Jacobs has seventy three
- 18:16Speaker 4: yards on nineteen carris for one touchdown. Tight End Tucker
- 18:19Speaker 4: Kraft stole the show with four receptions eighty eight yards
- 18:22Speaker 4: and two touchdowns. And the Rams Man they're hurting right now,
- 18:26Speaker 4: limping into the bye week. Yeah, you know they're hoping
- 18:29Speaker 4: to get Cooper Cup back. Obviously, pookering cool is out
- 18:31Speaker 4: third team that I'm not going to underestimate at all.
- 18:34Speaker 3: When the Seahawks play them. I think it's November third
- 18:37Speaker 3: somewhere in there. It's still gonna be a dog fighting
- 18:38Speaker 3: it always is with the Rams. They have one win
- 18:40Speaker 3: and it was against a pretty darn good football team
- 18:42Speaker 3: in the forty nine ers, So they're still there. But yeah,
- 18:44Speaker 3: they definitely need their bye week. It couldn't come soon enough.
- 18:47Speaker 3: But let's get back to those forty nine ers.
- 18:49Speaker 1: Man up.
- 18:52Speaker 3: This man, Man up on howked talk often? We start
- 19:02Speaker 3: with the quarterbacks, and today's gonna be no different. Rock
- 19:04Speaker 3: Purty take it on the Seahawks defense. And he's done
- 19:08Speaker 3: a lot bump over the year the last couple of
- 19:09Speaker 3: seasons to prove that he's a legit starting quarterback in
- 19:12Speaker 3: the NFL. After helping the forty nine ers to another
- 19:15Speaker 3: Super Bowl appearance. And yes, we know he has tons
- 19:18Speaker 3: of weapons. We're about to talk about all yeah, he
- 19:20Speaker 3: got a lot, but he's played some pretty good ball.
- 19:22Speaker 3: In twenty three, he was voted to his first Pro
- 19:23Speaker 3: Bowl after throwing for four two hundred and eighty yards
- 19:26Speaker 3: in thirty one touchdowns.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Here's that ranked.
- 19:28Speaker 3: Last year he was fifteen yards third and touchdowns fourth,
- 19:31Speaker 3: and completion percentage first in QBR first and QB rating.
- 19:36Speaker 3: But despite his success, and I'm guilty of this at
- 19:39Speaker 3: times two, he still has tons of doubters considering all
- 19:43Speaker 3: the weapons he has offensively, It's not his fault the
- 19:46Speaker 3: situation he got into.
- 19:47Speaker 4: He was mister revelevant, he was drafted late. He's playing
- 19:50Speaker 4: with good players. It's like when you marry into a
- 19:52Speaker 4: rich family. You didn't know it, you know, You're just like, oh, yeah,
- 19:55Speaker 4: I love this girl. Let's go meet her parents. And
- 19:57Speaker 4: you walk into the house and you're like, damn, you
- 19:59Speaker 4: got all of this.
- 20:00Speaker 2: You know.
- 20:00Speaker 4: It's it ain't party's fault that he married into a
- 20:02Speaker 4: rich family.
- 20:03Speaker 1: I just got to show up, you know.
- 20:05Speaker 3: No, obviously we know he works hard, but no, I
- 20:07Speaker 3: think with him, it kind of came on to play
- 20:10Speaker 3: last week. I know a lot of people have reading
- 20:11Speaker 3: some articles, whether it's the San Francisco Chronicle a couple
- 20:13Speaker 3: different places, and I'm like, damn, they're really getting after
- 20:16Speaker 3: this dude. Where is the high profile offense. We thought
- 20:19Speaker 3: we were going to see his rock Purty soleing this
- 20:22Speaker 3: down because.
- 20:23Speaker 1: You know, he's super athletic.
- 20:25Speaker 3: He makes a lot of plays on the run with
- 20:26Speaker 3: his feet, which has helped them extend plays and make plays.
- 20:29Speaker 3: Last week was a good example. He got sacked a
- 20:31Speaker 3: couple of times and because their kicker got hurt yep
- 20:34Speaker 3: one of them. One of the times, I believe it
- 20:35Speaker 3: knocked him out of field goal range because their punter
- 20:37Speaker 3: was kicking and he's range was only too like you know,
- 20:39Speaker 3: twenty seven or thirty yard field goal. So it made
- 20:42Speaker 3: people feel a certain type of way. And so far
- 20:44Speaker 3: this year, you know, he has shown the ball with
- 20:47Speaker 3: four times in five games one O three for one
- 20:50Speaker 3: to fifty seven one, three hundred and seventy four yards,
- 20:52Speaker 3: six touchdowns, four interceptions. He's been sacked twelve times on
- 20:56Speaker 3: the year. Also has twenty two carries for one hundred
- 20:58Speaker 3: and eight yards, but has found it sets against the
- 21:00Speaker 3: Seahawks six yards passing, eight touchdowns, two interceptions and sacked
- 21:06Speaker 3: six times in those games.
- 21:09Speaker 1: That's four games including the playoffs.
- 21:10Speaker 4: I'm sitting here trying to figure out who his backup is. Okay,
- 21:12Speaker 4: you got Brandon Allen and Joshua dives over there. Yeah,
- 21:15Speaker 4: go ahead, and start them. Then if the meeting is
- 21:16Speaker 4: stripping over there, go ahead and start those dudes. If
- 21:19Speaker 4: y'all don't want brock party over there. He's solid, but
- 21:22Speaker 4: every everyone has their tough years. Let's talk about our quarterback,
- 21:26Speaker 4: gene No smith Man. He didn't have a great week,
- 21:30Speaker 4: but didn't have a bad week. He still completed seventy
- 21:32Speaker 4: percent of his passes twenty eight to forty for twenty
- 21:34Speaker 4: four one touchdown seventy two yards on the ground. Through
- 21:37Speaker 4: five weeks, Gino was first in passing, fifth in completion percentage,
- 21:41Speaker 4: first in completions, first in attempts, and eleventh. When it
- 21:45Speaker 4: comes to QBR, he's going up against the defense as
- 21:47Speaker 4: ninth overall, twelfth against the pass.
- 21:49Speaker 2: Look, you got to get the run going. I think
- 21:51Speaker 2: that's kind of been.
- 21:52Speaker 4: The the the phrase that I've heard all week, get
- 21:55Speaker 4: the run going, Get the run going.
- 21:57Speaker 2: But Gino still got a ball out too.
- 21:59Speaker 4: He still needs his thirty five attempts through the air
- 22:01Speaker 4: and protect him and he'll eat the way the pass
- 22:04Speaker 4: might open up the run. I think that's kind of
- 22:06Speaker 4: what you need to happen, because the run hasn't been
- 22:08Speaker 4: working yet.
- 22:09Speaker 1: And it doesn't have to be one or the other.
- 22:11Speaker 1: It doesn't have to be like bump.
- 22:12Speaker 3: Run run pass, run run pass, because fans would feel
- 22:16Speaker 3: the same way if you get stopped twice and then
- 22:18Speaker 3: you go three and now mm hmm, they'd be like, well,
- 22:19Speaker 3: why aren't we throwing the ball? So it's a it's
- 22:22Speaker 3: more about To me, it's more about balance. When I
- 22:23Speaker 3: think of balance, it's like, Okay, what kind of game
- 22:26Speaker 3: are you calling? Even if you're throwing you a bunch
- 22:29Speaker 3: of pass plays, is that opening up the run? Is
- 22:30Speaker 3: it difference up? Because John Boyle made this point earlier
- 22:33Speaker 3: today when we were speaking. I think this might have
- 22:35Speaker 3: been on The Insider's podcast, but he said, think about
- 22:37Speaker 3: that first play, first drive the second half, Seas get
- 22:40Speaker 3: a stop tire Lockett off of play action gets that
- 22:42Speaker 3: big pass down the table. Obviously there's a fumble later
- 22:44Speaker 3: in that drive, but different things can happen. So to
- 22:47Speaker 3: your point, I have no problem with them getting Geno
- 22:49Speaker 3: going early with receivers. We've seen the success they've had.
- 22:52Speaker 3: We're just hoping that the run game can also get going.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Yep.
- 22:55Speaker 3: Speaking of the run game, though Jordan Mason not a name,
- 22:59Speaker 3: I was super famili not gonna lie.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Heading into this year, you.
- 23:01Speaker 4: Didn't know who he was, I think super familiar. You did,
- 23:03Speaker 4: You wasn't familiar at all.
- 23:05Speaker 1: I had heard the name, Okay, I didn't know where
- 23:09Speaker 1: he was from what he was about.
- 23:11Speaker 4: I'm sure I've heard of Jordan Mason sometime in my life.
- 23:15Speaker 3: And so he's feeling it Forgression McCaffrey. One of the
- 23:18Speaker 3: most dangerous running backs in the league. That from McCaffrey.
- 23:20Speaker 3: We know the Swiss Army knife and the Seahawks were
- 23:23Speaker 3: lucky that he's not playing. But Jordan Mason is filled
- 23:25Speaker 3: it in a big way. And he's not just like
- 23:27Speaker 3: kind of getting it done.
- 23:28Speaker 2: He's balling.
- 23:29Speaker 3: He's second in the NFL and rust yards only behind
- 23:32Speaker 3: Derrick Henry, who's a completely other story. The fact that
- 23:33Speaker 3: he's doing what he's doing right now, and it's pretty
- 23:36Speaker 3: cool because he was undrafted. He leads the whole NFL
- 23:39Speaker 3: in carries and I was doing some research on him.
- 23:41Speaker 3: So at Georgia Tech, he had some good seasons and
- 23:43Speaker 3: then his senior year he essentially gets he.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Doesn't get bench.
- 23:46Speaker 3: He still played, but when you're when you kind of
- 23:50Speaker 3: get bench as a senior, and that's pretty tough. Yeah,
- 23:52Speaker 3: that's hard on the confidence. But when you hear it's
- 23:54Speaker 3: because of a guy named Jamir Gibbs.
- 23:56Speaker 2: There you go.
- 23:57Speaker 4: You go, well, okay, yeah in the moment, rough, but
- 24:00Speaker 4: I'm sure once it all went down and he watched
- 24:02Speaker 4: what Gibbs is doing, you're.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Like, yeah, okay, and then Gibbs goes Alabama and then's
- 24:06Speaker 1: the first run.
- 24:06Speaker 2: But it makes sense.
- 24:07Speaker 3: Yeah anyway, So he's great on the ground. One hundred
- 24:09Speaker 3: and five carries, five hundred and thirty six yards, three touchdowns.
- 24:12Speaker 3: Seahawks defense has been struggling against the run. They will
- 24:15Speaker 3: be tested early and often because that Shanahan's scheme is
- 24:18Speaker 3: always evolving and always won that it doesn't it seems
- 24:21Speaker 3: like anyone has success in the backfield. Not taking away
- 24:23Speaker 3: from any of those backs, but it's gonna be hard
- 24:25Speaker 3: for Sea Austin and have to be on it this week.
- 24:28Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a good story, Mace. I know I make
- 24:29Speaker 4: fun of him. I didn't know who he was at all.
- 24:31Speaker 4: I'm gonna be real on the podcast, but I know
- 24:35Speaker 4: who he is now though, because he is making plays. Man,
- 24:38Speaker 4: he looks good back there. I'll let's talk about these receivers. Man,
- 24:41Speaker 4: you got d Bo, Brandon Aiyuk, and Wan Jennings. You
- 24:44Speaker 4: look at any position on offense, Niners got a guy
- 24:46Speaker 4: or two who can get her done. In twenty twenty three,
- 24:49Speaker 4: Brandon Ayyuk seventy five receptions, thirteen hundred yards and seven touchdowns.
- 24:54Speaker 4: This is why he wanted to get paid. This is
- 24:57Speaker 4: why he held out and said, look, I'm one of
- 24:58Speaker 4: the best in the game. He held out the twenty
- 25:01Speaker 4: twenty four season, got a slow start. Now I think
- 25:03Speaker 4: he's got his legs under him. He's ready to go.
- 25:05Speaker 4: But he signed a contract right four years, one hundred
- 25:08Speaker 4: and twenty million dollars, but it took a while for
- 25:11Speaker 4: him to get going. Last week he had thirteen receptions
- 25:14Speaker 4: for one sixty seven. He looked like the guy that
- 25:17Speaker 4: the Niners paid for in twenty twenty four. So far
- 25:20Speaker 4: he has twenty one receptions for three hundred and fourteen yards.
- 25:24Speaker 4: And then you have Deebo, who's not even a position player.
- 25:28Speaker 4: He's like a real life flex player. You put him
- 25:30Speaker 4: anywhere you want to. He can ball out man. He
- 25:33Speaker 4: missed one game so far this year because of a
- 25:35Speaker 4: CAF injury, but so far, seventeen receptions two hundred thirty
- 25:38Speaker 4: three yards and fifteen carries for thirty six yards. Who
- 25:41Speaker 4: won touchdown. Don't let the numbers fool you. He's a volcano.
- 25:44Speaker 4: Willie rubbed at any moment. But one of the biggest
- 25:47Speaker 4: surprises Jan Jennings. Man Jennings He's you already knew who
- 25:50Speaker 4: he was. He had himself some good years in the league.
- 25:53Speaker 4: But so far this year he has twenty two receptions
- 25:55Speaker 4: for three hundy seventy seven yards and three touchdowns. So
- 25:59Speaker 4: they got they got too that they can lean on,
- 26:01Speaker 4: and three different type of receivers, which always makes it
- 26:03Speaker 4: more difficult for a defense to defend.
- 26:05Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean you said at the beginning of that
- 26:08Speaker 3: that there's someone at every level that is dominant and
- 26:12Speaker 3: that you could argue is the best at what they
- 26:14Speaker 3: do right, which is difficult anytime you're facing off as
- 26:17Speaker 3: that kind of five power. I think the Seahawks, with
- 26:20Speaker 3: a quick week, knowing what's happened recently, are arguing to
- 26:22Speaker 3: be on their p's and q's, but they're gonna have
- 26:23Speaker 3: to work for it. So you know, Rieke Wollen is
- 26:26Speaker 3: a little banged up. I'm expecting I'm hoping for a
- 26:28Speaker 3: big balance back game from Tray Brown. Yeah, we know
- 26:31Speaker 3: what Spoon can do. I'm hoping to get one of
- 26:32Speaker 3: those Spoon games.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Been waiting. It's time.
- 26:35Speaker 3: He's due, lighting people up, getting a couple of interceptions
- 26:37Speaker 3: just cause and have it because that's what twenty one does.
- 26:40Speaker 3: So the Seahawks secondary will definitely have their hands full
- 26:43Speaker 3: now Sickond with the forty nine ers.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Nick Bosa. I don't really need to talk a ton
- 26:48Speaker 1: about Nick Bosa. We know who he is.
- 26:49Speaker 3: One of the best linemen in the league since twenty nineteen,
- 26:52Speaker 3: Defensive Player of the Year in twenty twenty two with
- 26:54Speaker 3: eighteen and a half sacks. Last year he still made
- 26:57Speaker 3: the Pro Bowl, but his numbers are down. Okay, but
- 27:00Speaker 3: I would say any NFL player, any person for that matter,
- 27:05Speaker 3: would take fifty three tackles, ten and a half sacks,
- 27:07Speaker 3: sixteen TFLs and thirty five QB hits.
- 27:10Speaker 2: Yep.
- 27:10Speaker 1: So if that's a down year for you, good for you.
- 27:14Speaker 1: And he's been pretty active.
- 27:15Speaker 3: Film of the stats sheeet this year so far, not
- 27:18Speaker 3: crazy dominant, eighteen tackles, three sacks, six TFLs, one forced umber,
- 27:21Speaker 3: one pass defended, and six QB hits. Big Bosa, we
- 27:24Speaker 3: got to know where he's at every time. Obviously ninety
- 27:26Speaker 3: seven bump. All you gotta do is turn on the
- 27:28Speaker 3: film to know how impactful he can be. And I'm
- 27:31Speaker 3: really excited to see him match up with Charles Cross,
- 27:34Speaker 3: him match up with some forceythe and just kind of see.
- 27:36Speaker 1: But he's definitely number one problem in that front seven.
- 27:38Speaker 4: And here's the thing too, man, these tackles have seen
- 27:41Speaker 4: some guys so far this year Aiden Hutchinson and then
- 27:43Speaker 4: you had Burns and Thibodeau last week. I mean, they
- 27:47Speaker 4: they've seen it so that they should be they should
- 27:49Speaker 4: be ready for this, but it's going to be a challenge.
- 27:51Speaker 4: Let's look at the Seahawks running backs and the Niners
- 27:55Speaker 4: front seven, specifically Fred Warner. Dude is a baller. The Seahawks,
- 27:59Speaker 4: they didn't see much action against the Giants. Ken Walker
- 28:02Speaker 4: zach Scharbeney can bind for just thirty yards on seven
- 28:04Speaker 4: carries is crazy to me.
- 28:06Speaker 2: It didn't feel like that. For some reason.
- 28:07Speaker 4: It felt like they touched about more, probably because they're
- 28:09Speaker 4: active in the past.
- 28:10Speaker 2: Game, so I saw them get a few receptions so
- 28:12Speaker 2: far this year.
- 28:13Speaker 4: Ken Walker thirty seven carries toward it in two yards
- 28:15Speaker 4: and four touchdowns. Zach scharbeney forty four carries, one sixty
- 28:18Speaker 4: seven and three touchdowns. The forty nine defense is they're
- 28:23Speaker 4: too good to be one dimensional. We know how good
- 28:26Speaker 4: the Niners defensive line is, but they are good. And
- 28:30Speaker 4: the guy right behind him is the best linebacker in
- 28:33Speaker 4: the game, and that is Fred Warner. Warner into the
- 28:35Speaker 4: league in twenty eighteen and has over one hundred tackles
- 28:38Speaker 4: in every season, and not just like down the field tackles.
- 28:41Speaker 4: I'm in this box. I'm meeting at the line of
- 28:43Speaker 4: scrimmage type of tackles. He's been a Pro Bowler in
- 28:46Speaker 4: a first team All Pro for the past two seasons.
- 28:49Speaker 2: He's the best in the game so.
- 28:50Speaker 4: Far this year thirty nine tackles, one sack, one TfL,
- 28:52Speaker 4: one quarterback hit, four passes defended, three forced fumbles, two interceptions,
- 28:56Speaker 4: and one pick six.
- 28:58Speaker 2: What was at the week before this Cardinals game?
- 28:59Speaker 1: Care Yeah, he was tired in the end zone.
- 29:01Speaker 4: Yea, it was gas. He tried to celebrate. He did
- 29:03Speaker 4: one motion and then took a knee. He said, I
- 29:06Speaker 4: need that oxygen. But he's the type of guy that
- 29:08Speaker 4: can change a game. So you got to know where
- 29:10Speaker 4: he is at all times. Fred Warner is a beast.
- 29:13Speaker 1: Yeah, he absolutelys a beast.
- 29:14Speaker 3: And again, I think I've said this in the last
- 29:15Speaker 3: couple of years that he reminds me of a young
- 29:18Speaker 3: Bobby Wagner.
- 29:18Speaker 2: Yep.
- 29:19Speaker 3: And he has now hit the absolute prime of his career.
- 29:22Speaker 3: He's in it right now, we're seeing it.
- 29:24Speaker 1: So fifty four is gonna be all over the field.
- 29:26Speaker 4: Bobby crowned him too. Bobby said he was the best
- 29:28Speaker 4: in the game at one point.
- 29:29Speaker 1: He did, yeah, and he knew he was coming. He's
- 29:30Speaker 1: seen it. And then lastly, we'll finish up with the
- 29:33Speaker 1: forty nine ers.
- 29:33Speaker 3: George Kittle. George Kittle. Obviously he's last in this lineup
- 29:37Speaker 3: and not the least. He remains one of the best
- 29:39Speaker 3: tight ends in the NFL. He's fourth in the NFL
- 29:42Speaker 3: when it comes to receiving yards among tight ends. He
- 29:44Speaker 3: has twenty three receptions two hundred and twenty five yards
- 29:46Speaker 3: in three touchdowns. He's a guy that gets done in
- 29:49Speaker 3: the run and the pass game matchup nightmare. The thing
- 29:52Speaker 3: about Kittle that you look at is he's a dude
- 29:54Speaker 3: that'll that'll pancake defensive ends and then go down and
- 29:58Speaker 3: beat you for a fifty yard touchdown.
- 30:00Speaker 1: So Kittle is dangerous.
- 30:01Speaker 3: Career against the Seahawks, He's had a lot of success
- 30:03Speaker 3: fifty one reception, seven hundred and fifty yards, five touchdowns
- 30:06Speaker 3: in twelve games, not including the postseason matchup where he
- 30:09Speaker 3: also went off.
- 30:10Speaker 4: Just messed up. Yeah, guys, wish to do that in
- 30:13Speaker 4: a season. He's done it in twelve games against the Niners.
- 30:16Speaker 4: I mean the Hawks crazy.
- 30:17Speaker 3: Yeah, So it's gonna be different matchup, different defense, different
- 30:20Speaker 3: players going on. But Bump, they are incredibly talented, but
- 30:24Speaker 3: so are the Hawks. The Hawks are ready the three
- 30:26Speaker 3: in two. Let's figure out how they're gonna get this done.
- 30:28Speaker 1: Pat the victory after forty five waits for the staff,
- 30:33Speaker 1: Michael Dixon puts it down.
- 30:35Speaker 2: That kick is away. If that kick.
- 30:37Speaker 1: Is gone, to say off when it's gone, it's a
- 30:41Speaker 1: path to victory. On Hawk Talk.
- 30:44Speaker 3: First divisional matchup for the Seahawks on the season and
- 30:47Speaker 3: number one for me. Bump, I think it's pretty simple.
- 30:49Speaker 3: It's stop the run. A lot more simple simple to
- 30:53Speaker 3: say than it is to do. But the forty nine
- 30:56Speaker 3: ers will make you pay if you don't look at
- 30:58Speaker 3: the last five games in this matchup to limit the damage.
- 31:01Speaker 3: They have so many weapons. You can't shut everybody down,
- 31:04Speaker 3: but no one can get go off. And for me,
- 31:06Speaker 3: it starts with the run game.
- 31:08Speaker 4: Yeah, you can't have Mason go for a bucks sixty five,
- 31:12Speaker 4: you go for a hundred kittle goal for a hunting
- 31:14Speaker 4: You gotta you gotta maintain these guys and put some
- 31:17Speaker 4: pressure on parties. Not having the greatest year so far,
- 31:21Speaker 4: so just stay in his head. Right, he will turn
- 31:23Speaker 4: the football over if you put some pressure on him.
- 31:26Speaker 4: And it's time to see a big game from two
- 31:28Speaker 4: to one man, we've been waiting for him. He's played
- 31:30Speaker 4: he hasn't played bad, but no, he just hasn't had
- 31:32Speaker 4: that big play that we're used to seeing him make.
- 31:35Speaker 4: And then offensively, you need to start fast and you
- 31:38Speaker 4: need to stay on the field, run the football, be
- 31:41Speaker 4: stubborn with him, mix the game up, make it a
- 31:44Speaker 4: physical one because it's gonna be physical regardless.
- 31:46Speaker 1: Yeah, you don't have an option, so you'd rather be
- 31:48Speaker 1: the hammer out the now right.
- 31:49Speaker 3: The Niners have had success at Loominfield the last two times,
- 31:52Speaker 3: which I know's got to rub a lot of people
- 31:54Speaker 3: the wrong way. And it's a huge game front of
- 31:56Speaker 3: national audience on Amazon Prime. So protect Gino Smith because
- 32:00Speaker 3: NAS is not the standard. We know that, and don't
- 32:02Speaker 3: let Nick bos to ruin the game. We talked about
- 32:05Speaker 3: this five game streak. The Seahawks had dominated this rivalry
- 32:08Speaker 3: for so long. The Niners have been in control. But
- 32:10Speaker 3: as every coach knows, last year doesn't mean anything. The
- 32:12Speaker 3: last game means nothing. It's about right here and right now,
- 32:15Speaker 3: and it'd be really cool to see coach McDonald get
- 32:17Speaker 3: a big signature win in primetime at home.
- 32:21Speaker 1: I'm excited.
- 32:22Speaker 3: I think the Seahawks can do it. It should be
- 32:24Speaker 3: a fun matchup. Pregame show on the radio will get
- 32:26Speaker 3: going at two pm on your seatow stations following Bump
- 32:29Speaker 3: in Stacey.
- 32:30Speaker 1: It's a long day for your long day, brother, Yes,
