Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to the Offseason, a show covering the Miami Gulf, the NFL, pop culture, drinking culture and of course.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: I show it now.
- 0:14[SPEAKER_00]: You're your host, out for our T.A.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_00]: in myself.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_01]: I wear on this is the Offseason with myself, a freight or I.T.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_01]: third season I think third season yeah there's a third season we are in the midst of our third season uh merit brave how are you merit I'm doing well out how are you I'm doing great usually this is like one of my favorite times of the year
- 0:50[SPEAKER_01]: But like, come a week's time, I'm essentially going to be that meme.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_01]: Have you seen it, the, the, the Pulp Fiction meme of John Travolta walking around like, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_01]: Because there will be no Miami heat playoff for the first time in a hundred and in a very, very long time.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_01]: There will be no Panthers playoffs in very, very long time.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_01]: The interesting thing is that both teams will have lottery picks.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_01]: So, so we have we have that to look forward to and usually it's my favorite week of the year coming next week because usually it's the NFL draft is it's started the NBA playoffs the start of the NHL playoffs and it's a week before the Kentucky Derby and you're coming off of WrestleMania.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_01]: So it's just like it's one of the greatest two weeks in the calendar year that calendar is now cut in half
- 1:47[SPEAKER_01]: because there will be no NBA playoffs for the Miami heat and no NHL playoffs for the Panthers, but we do have WrestleMania.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_01]: And we'll talk about it in a second half of the show, but we're gonna start with what's gonna be the big news.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_01]: Next week, which is the NFL draft and a very active one for the Miami Dolphins.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_01]: We haven't talked about it because it, well, I didn't break it.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_01]: It's been around for a while.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_01]: But what do you make of this concerted effort?
- 2:16[SPEAKER_01]: To, I guess, because we've talked about it the other day, man, college football twitters like relentless, wrestling twitters even worse, OK?
- 2:28[SPEAKER_01]: Because how two people could look at something and then have completely diametrically opposed opinions
- 2:37[SPEAKER_01]: it's this.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_01]: What did you make of that story on Ruben Bane and the accent that he was in in March of 2024?
- 2:44[SPEAKER_01]: And do you think it's going to hurt his draft stock?
- 2:47[SPEAKER_01]: Have you changed your opinion at all on Ruben Bane?
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: What about me first?
- 2:53[SPEAKER_00]: First and foremost, you know, your heart goes out to the young woman who lost her life and and her family and friends who were navigating their lives
- 3:08[SPEAKER_00]: I hate when all of this stuff seems to come out right before the biggest moment of these guys' lives.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: You know, this is very reminiscent of the Laramie Tuncel Gask Mask Bong, which, you know, benefited the Miami Dolphins.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe we can see a repeat of that with Ruben Bane sliding to pick 11, because if he's there at pick 11,
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: I'm running, sprinting to the podium within seconds, like there's no chance I'm passing up a talent like Ruben Bane at such an impact position, like past Russia, like edge Russia, you know what I mean?
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: So I think it's unfortunate that this is coming out now, but it sounds like NFL teams have had this information for a while, they've done their their due diligence,
- 3:54[SPEAKER_00]: it seems like most teams are not giving Ruben Bane a pass, but accepting his explanation of the events.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: And I know you've been pretty adamant that a mistake like this from Bane, as a college player, as a college kid, is just that.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: It's just a mistake.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: He wasn't
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: As far as we know, he wasn't drinking, he wasn't under the influence of any substance.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: He just made a mistake while driving.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_00]: We've all been there.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_00]: I've been in a few fender benders myself.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, not to the level that Ruben Bain was in just a couple of years ago when this all went down, but it's unfortunate that these are the types of conversations that people
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: hoping to make generational wealth for himself and future generations of his family, but for me personally, this doesn't move the needle away from Ruben Bane.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: I still think he's a top prospect in this trap, and I would be ecstatic if the Miami Dolphins were to land him at pick 11.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_00]: What about you?
- 5:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I completely agree.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you don't want to say it's
- 5:12[SPEAKER_01]: That's all it was.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_01]: It was a car accident.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_01]: And it bothers me when people are out there, because I think there's some of them are doing it for effect, because it takes some no time.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_01]: It takes some two minutes to research what careless driving is in the state of Florida, and what reckless driving is in the state of Florida.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_01]: They're two completely different things.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: And I keep hearing some national types saying,
- 5:41[SPEAKER_01]: dropped the careless driving charge.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_01]: It's not a careless driving charge to take it citation.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_01]: He was not criminally charged in any way, but they talk like this to give it a little bit more effect.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I'm I'm finally saying this, you know, people are not ignorant, at least not in this line of work and in media.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_01]: People are either stupid or intentionally malicious.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_01]: So pick one of the
- 6:12[SPEAKER_01]: either being stupid or you being intentionally malicious.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna give a lot of those people the benefit of the doubt and just call them stupid.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_01]: I'll do that.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah, it doesn't bother me in the least bit.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's the same prospect that he was before these events.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_01]: Well, not before these events, but before these events came the light.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: So, I don't have any issues whatsoever.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_01]: What did you make of all the mock drafts now?
- 6:41[SPEAKER_01]: Pretty much being all over the place.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_01]: And all of these off-the-wall ideas on who actually is,
- 6:48[SPEAKER_01]: a top prospect for the Miami dolphins at 11 because not that my role freely has entered the chat like how many guys different guys is this?
- 6:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think one and we could talk about it, you know, who is absolutely a no-go for you and I'll give you my absolutely, you know, my guy who's very popular mock draft target and a lot of mock drafts that I'm absolutely not in on.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_01]: But what did you make up?
- 7:14[SPEAKER_01]: What are you making of all of this
- 7:18[SPEAKER_00]: I guess uneasiness or skits of frania in in the mock draft world on the last offense at 11 we see this every year off this is smoke screen season right you're going to hear that the dolphins are interested in every single player who could be available at pick number 11 you're going to hear that the dolphins are not interested in every single player that could be there at 11 so
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: It's really hard to kind of sift through and figure out who's telling the truth what reports are agent driven, what reports are, you know, like I said, smoke screen trying to get players to fall.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_00]: to the Miami Dolphins at pick 11.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: They don't have a top 10 pick.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_00]: So you're going to need somebody to slide a little bit.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: And so you got to raise some concerns.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't be all too surprised if it was the Miami Dolphins who were leaking this Ruben Bane stuff to try to get him to slide to pick number 11.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: Because it wasn't long ago when he was considered a top five lock for any of the teams picking right there at the top of the first round of the draft.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: So I think
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: We are a weekend a day away from the start of the NFL draft draft and I cannot wait until that eventually kicks off.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: So we don't have to, you know, try and sift through the T leaves and figure out what's going on.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_00]: We can just watch it unfold.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_00]: And the Miami Dolphins have two picks in the first round.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: Pick 11 pick 30.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: So no going to bed early for us as we wait through the end of
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: What do you make of it out for, you know, and you talk about Monroe Freeling being added to the pile of names that could be available to the dolphins at Pickle 11 of these offensive Lyman available between Maui Noa, Spencer Fano, Monroe Freeling.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: Is there a guy that you
- 9:18[SPEAKER_00]: look at and say, hadn't shoulders above the rest.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_00]: This is a guy I would draft.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_00]: And then is there a guy when you when you look at, you know, Green Bay history, John Erick Sullivan history, where you go, that guy is certainly in the mold of a solid-type player.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the most green bay guy pretty much at 11 will be Spencer Fano.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's the most green bay guy.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_01]: The guys that I would want to hurricane guys and not because they're it is because they're spectacular prospects, Frances Maui, you know, Rubin Bane.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_01]: I'll give you one guy that I absolutely and I'll ask you for years before we go to break.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_01]: There's one guy that the more I look at it's not that
- 10:06[SPEAKER_01]: Nessman's mensuitalane.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_00]: Hmm, interesting.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_01]: And I've looked at this and I posted this on our discord only friends.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_01]: And by the way, if you wanted to come a member of only friends, I'll give you the details in a little bit.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_01]: But I was looking back and...
- 10:25[SPEAKER_01]: I went back to 2015.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_01]: Is that long enough?
- 10:29[SPEAKER_01]: Mark?
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, at this point, we're 10, 11 years removed, which is wild to think about, but yeah, okay.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_01]: I went back to 2015.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_01]: The Packers have drafted seven cornbacks to play cornback.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_01]: They've drafted five other defensive backs, but all of them got converted to safety or there were slots, but they didn't, those guys don't matter because it only helps the case.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_01]: So I kept it only at cornback to help the case as much as possible.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_01]: The arm length of those players are 31, 31, 32, and 3 quarters, 31, 31, and 32.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_01]: And then in 2015, they took Quentin Rollins, who measured at 30 and a quarter inches.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_01]: Mancer delaying is sub 30.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_01]: I think that matters, especially at cornerback.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_01]: I think it matters more at cornerback than it does at edge.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_01]: I think if you were going to find two positions where it mattered the most, it will be at cornerback
- 11:22[SPEAKER_01]: like you need arm length to play tackle.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_01]: You need arm length to play bump man, because if you can't get hands on a wide receiver, things are happening so fast, especially right off the line and on the release, if you can't get a jab in, you're pretty much screwed in bump man.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_01]: and sometimes in matchman because there is some hand fighting somewhere around the five-yard area in matchman.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_01]: So our length is something that I do look at at corner back.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_01]: One thing of what was wanted them to measure and they never do is the in-scene because in-scene tells you how long a player's legs are.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_01]: And at corner back legs are pretty much the most important thing that you can have if you're going to play his own because they have to have as much closing speed as possible longer stride is better, because if you have a longer stride you have you're exerting less energy we are exerting less energy moving actually fast.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_01]: So I actually care about these mandibles at corner back and of all the guys that I've been mocked to the dolphins at 11 to one guy that I'm absolutely out on as men sort of delay.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_01]: although I could come around to him at 30, but not at 11. Who is that guy for you?
- 12:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, similarly, at 30, I think I'd be all over this guy, better to 11.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_00]: Keldrick Falk of Auburn.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_00]: I think he is in the mold of somebody that Sullivan would like, and I think his run defense, a little bit better than his past rush,
- 12:58[SPEAKER_00]: ability at this point in his career.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_00]: And I think if you're picking at 11, you know, especially when you see some of these mocks coming out this morning that have the dolphins taking fall over a guy like Ruben Bane, that that's just a no-go at pick number 11 for me.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_00]: I pick 11.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_00]: I want somebody who can impact the passing game more than the running game.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_00]: So if I'm looking at an edge player there, if Ruben Bane slips to 11 again, like I said, I'm sprinting to the podium, I'm running that in, I'm ready to go, but at 11, I want somebody a little bit more dynamic than a Celtic fall at 30.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm in.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_00]: I'm in there.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_00]: TJ Parker another guy at 30.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_00]: I would absolutely love because I do think the Miami Dolphins do need edge help, especially with the with the scheme they'll be running under halfway.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think, you know, I'm a fan of Chop Robinson.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_00]: He had a disappointing sophomore season, but you can't get through an entire NFL season with one past Russia on your team.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_00]: uh... in chop Robinson you know and i know that they they signed a couple of other guys in in in free agency this off season but you need that infusion of young talent so at pic 30 it caldric fox fox is available on in uh... at pic eleven that that's a no go for me i am not interested at pic number eleven
- 14:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm completely with you on on that guy as well.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_01]: I at 30, I actually would be in on cuts or fought fought, but not at 11.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_01]: At 11, I have a very, very short, short list of players.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm being inclined to trade down, although we've talked about this on the podcast week, how trading down,
- 14:40[SPEAKER_01]: you're adding salary and this team is kind of strapped for cash in year one of this regime.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know if they want to add another first round pick.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_01]: They could add one for next year.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's fine.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_01]: If they're going to trade down from 11 and add a one this year later on in the first round and then add a one next year.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_01]: Like and by the way, that's a realistic trick.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's not asking too much.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's probably what 11 is worth.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_01]: Like if you're
- 15:08[SPEAKER_01]: You're probably getting that team's first rompick next year as well.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_01]: So if you could do something like that, I would do it.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_01]: But only if certain players are not on the board and those guys are essentially all of the Ohio State guys.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I love sunny styles.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's the best player in the draft.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_01]: Kind of downs, I think, is the second best player in the draft.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_01]: uh... the other two guys i would not move out of their four is uh... friends spinoa and rooping the two hurricanes so it's too high of state guys and two hurricanes those are the guys i'm very very in on at eleven and i would not move out of eleven to take anybody else or trade down from there all right we're gonna go break and we come back we're gonna talk about rest on mania
- 15:49[SPEAKER_01]: and some other things that have happened in the TKO world.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_01]: But first, let me tell you about only friends.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_01]: That's our discord.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_01]: We've been there for a while now.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's been four years of only friends.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_01]: And if you want to become a member, you've got to go to discord.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_01]: And do that, you go to discord.gg4dslashonlyfence.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_01]: Join on a desktop.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_01]: It is $2.99 read only $4.99 all access.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_01]: All right, we're going to go to break, and when we come back, we will talk a little WrestleMania in some TKO, but first these words, and we're back.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_01]: All right, Mark, you have seen had an event here on Saturday.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_01]: It was a spectacular card.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_01]: Did you watch it by the way or no, on Saturday?
- 16:36[SPEAKER_00]: I had my own independent wrestling event here in Iowa that I was running Saturday.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it was a spectacular event here at the Kasey Center.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_01]: It was a hot crowd.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_01]: Like it was a hot UFC crowd.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_01]: but we're beginning to see a little bit of a few cracks in the TKO over near, okay?
- 16:56[SPEAKER_01]: And we're gonna see the rest of them this coming week at in WrestleMania, Saturday and Sunday in WrestleMania.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_01]: There was 1,200 unsolved seats for U.S.C.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_01]: 327.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_01]: So there was a crowd of, I'm probably going to get these numbers wrong, but I think it was 17,100 and like capacity is 19,000 or something like that.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_01]: But some of those seats are card and off, like they're closed off.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_01]: So essentially 1,200 seats were not sold.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_01]: Similarly,
- 17:31[SPEAKER_01]: for WrestleMania, they went on a rush.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_01]: I don't remember ever hearing this ever in WrestleMania history where they go on a rush to sell out both nights, the week before the event, did the damn finally break?
- 17:53[SPEAKER_00]: question Alfa.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_00]: I've been saying for a while that I feel like this TKO merger has done more harm than good for WWE and I think their insistence on squeezing every penny out of the consumer is finally starting to backfire here, you know.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and by the way, Hayton dropped you there, but Dana White very famously said that his critique of boxing, because now he's in Zufa boxing, he owns a Tico, Tico owns a boxing Federation now to a boxing league Zufa, and he says that his criticism of professional boxing is that every big event in professional boxing feels like a going out of business sale.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_01]: That's what every WWE event feels like now like it's a going out of business sale like we got to get every single dime That's what every UFC event feels like now.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_01]: I can't go look I'm not gonna brag on this show But I do well.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_01]: I do okay Every year because the UFC comes to Miami every single year every year.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_01]: They're gonna come to Miami.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_01]: I look it up
- 18:57[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, okay, I'm going to go get myself some tickets, remember I'm not going to go buy myself, okay, and I'm not going to drink water, right, so I'm going to I'm going to have a meal, I'm probably going to have a few drinks at the arena, I need transportation or I got to pay for parking, and I got I got to get at least two tickets, right?
- 19:16[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not gonna sit in the middle of nowhere, but if I had sat in the middle of nowhere, the average ticket price for terrible seats at the Casay Center, we're gonna be somewhere in the neighborhood of $480 each.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_01]: So we're talking about $1,000 getting price?
- 19:32[SPEAKER_01]: No, you know what I did?
- 19:34[SPEAKER_01]: I have paramount plus.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_01]: I was in my backyard watching the entire event.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_01]: I had a really, really good time.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_01]: I catered food and I drank beers out of my own fridge.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_01]: you know, so I win.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, started interrupting, but yeah, back on on this has the damn broken because I think it has.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and you're even seeing it bleed into storylines now, right, with with Pat McAfee talking about it.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_00]: CM Punk talking about it, you know, that they're lowering ticket prices, like you said, to try to sell out WrestleMania, you're pricing out the average wrestling fan.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_00]: The average wrestling fan is a blue collar, you know, dude and his family.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_00]: You got little kids that want to go.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_00]: they can't afford to spend five six seven eight hundred dollars a thousand dollars a ticket and especially with WrestleMania happening in Las Vegas, which is already an expensive city to visit.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_00]: But now it's two years in a row.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_00]: I can fully understand why wrestling fans
- 20:38[SPEAKER_00]: aren't clamoring to sell this event out, you know, and you can sit at home, shit.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_00]: They're given away some of this event for free on ESPN.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_00]: You can watch the first hour of night one on ESPN 2, and then the the first hour of night 2 on I think regular ESPN on on on Sunday.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_00]: So it's
- 20:59[SPEAKER_00]: Something's got to give.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_00]: Something has to change.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_00]: I'm hoping they're finally realizing that you can't just bleed everyone dry every single time you're trying to run an event and there's so many events right now anyways that I'm hoping this leads to some sort of long standing change especially with the way the economy is right now it's just it's not sustainable these prices aren't sustainable.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_00]: There's not enough people who can afford those prices to make these events a sell out every single time.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, to say that the dam has broken, I think I'm on to something there, because for a UFC event not to sell out, for them to have a gate that is substandard here in Miami, which is a hot UFC city.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_01]: It's a hot MMA city.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you put up tickets for combat sports in the city in Miami.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to sell out.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it's a good night, you know?
- 21:53[SPEAKER_01]: I go to events all the time.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I'm not paying $500 for those bleeds.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'll tell you that right now, $500 each for those, please.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_01]: Especially if I'm buying both tickets, $1,000 when I could just watch it hot my TV at home and have my choice of food, my choice of booze.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_01]: If I want to get to the bathroom, guess what?
- 22:14[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have to make a line.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_00]: No lines.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I could just, you know, mosaic on out from my backyard through my house to the bathroom.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_01]: If I need more ice for my drink, I could just go to the kitchen, like it's just a better event.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_01]: And I'll be doing the same thing this weekend for Russell Maney.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_01]: And we're going to get to that in a second.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_01]: But I sent you something about AEW.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_01]: That was a hot debate this week on Wrestling Twitter.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_01]: And God forbid you, you try to engage in one of those things because I didn't.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I just didn't one regard because some guy was making fun of yeah, you know, you'd W to be fans just got to go watch Jelly Roll run in for running on on Saturday and maybe that's more your speed.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_01]: And I said, and I told this person, Jelly Roll running in on Saturday is going to do less damage to the wrestling business than what?
- 23:06[SPEAKER_01]: uh, Osprey did on that big show that AEW had last week.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_01]: What did you make of the video I sent you?
- 23:12[SPEAKER_01]: Because there's other videos of other matches in that show, which are pretty much the same.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_01]: Like, essentially, I hate you in the face with a sledgehammer, and you just pop right back up, no sell it, and get a two count on me.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it's the other way around.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_01]: And uh, uh,
- 23:28[SPEAKER_01]: I can't watch stuff like that.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_01]: It makes it silly, almost, but there has an audience, some wrestling fans absolutely love it.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_01]: And I even heard new nomenclature, and I'll run this by you.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_01]: They call it a momentum attack.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_00]: That sounds like video game terminology to me.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_00]: In reality, what it is, is it is a carryover from 90s Japanese wrestling.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_00]: Japanese famously works something called a strong style, right?
- 23:58[SPEAKER_00]: Which means stiffer shots, stiffer strikes, things are going to be a little more realistic because sometimes they're actually hitting you.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_00]: in quote unquote safe spots but still doesn't feel great but but the idea behind behind this spot this no-selling spot it's called fighting spirit right in in Japan it has a rich history but in Japan it's done
- 24:25[SPEAKER_00]: correctly.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not done in every single match.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_00]: It only happens at the end of a month, multiple months or a year long feud with the top guys and in matches that are 30 to 45 minutes long.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_00]: And these guys are giving everything they have, you know, the cliche blood sweat tears to try and win a professional wrestling match.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't happen.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_00]: eight times on the same card in matches that are eight minutes long, you know what I mean?
- 24:54[SPEAKER_00]: You build to the moment and make it something special, but as often happens in the professional wrestling business, things become a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy and what happens when you do that is it becomes watered down and you get people who aren't as skilled as these Japanese wrestlers of the 90s trying to pull out these spots and make them mean something when in reality the way that
- 25:20[SPEAKER_00]: Um, you know, in certain situations, I can absolutely get behind a fighting spirit, Japanese strong style spot and match, but when it's done incessantly, um, in a, at Nazium, it's far too much for, for me to enjoy, um, and, and you're right, it's just watering down, uh, the professional wrestling product, doing damage to the professional wrestling product.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_00]: And, uh, a lot of people don't want to watch that.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I was sent that match that a moxley Osprey match as an example of, oh, you got to watch this, this is great.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm watching it, and I'm being annoyed by it.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_01]: And I sent you the last spot, which is moxley, outside of the ring, pile drives, and I'm not talking about like a tombstone pile driver.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_01]: No, a pile driver.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_01]: He pile drives, Osprey onto the steel steps.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_01]: Osprey falls off the steps is twitching, moxley's claiming victory, and I'm like, okay, no, no, no, no, that's a move.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_01]: Next thing, I know Osprey's in the ring, and moxley covers him and gets a two cap.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, no, no, no, I'm out, like, come on at a certain point, you know, you're essentially telling us that we're stupid, you know, like, come on, you know, I, I'm not for that, but you know, big audience, you know, it has a big audience evidently, but not big enough to compete with what we're going to be talking about now, which is WrestleMania, but yeah, your thoughts on on the end of that match, I don't know if you saw the match.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_01]: But it was just like, you know, what some people say, you know, it was a you go I go match, but like the end, like the finish of that match, I thought was just one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen in a wrestling way.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, not my cup of tea either, um, you know, if their fans like it and they continue to make money off of it, more power to them.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_00]: But it's not anything that I'm interested in tuning into on a regular basis.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_00]: That's for sure.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_01]: All right, WrestleMania.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_01]: Do you have the card there in front of you?
- 27:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, sir, night one night one.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_00]: You have break in it down by nights here.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_01]: What do you got?
- 27:41[SPEAKER_01]: Well, what are the matches?
- 27:43[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they already announced they're kicking it off with the six man tag team match Logan Paul, Austin theory and I show speed versus the Usos in LA night.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_01]: That's actually a really really good matchup and I were actually be pretty excited about that.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_01]: But I got my daughter's predictions right here.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll have a third.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I'm going to go ahead and say that the U-SOS and Illinois, you know, just to get this, you know, get the party started right, I don't think that the heels are going to go over on the first match to the current jerk or of night one of WrestleMania.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_01]: So I say the baby faces when this, the U-SOS, Illinois, when this, and my daughter has pretty much the same thing, the U-SOS and Illinois night, your thoughts.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'll make it a clean, a clean sweep.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_00]: I will also pick the Usos and L.A. Night.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_00]: Looking forward to this match myself.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_00]: I show speed, big streamer for the kids.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_00]: I have two kids.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_00]: They love I show speed.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_00]: They're very excited to watch him wrestle.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_00]: So I was actually at the Royal Rumble where he got speared by Brombraker.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_00]: And I thought he's, I think he's done a great job in the build to this match.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_00]: You know, for not being a professional wrestler, he sure is an entertainer.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll see what he can do in the ring.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_00]: Pretty athletic kid.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, him taking that that spear gave me a lot of respect for him because it's obvious he told brawnbreaker not just you know, just hit me with it.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_00]: Just kill me.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_01]: Just kill me and I'll take it now like like that could be dangerous.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_01]: You could hit the back of your head or whatever, but I guess he took this chin correctly or whatever and but it looked like he died like he looked like he got murdered.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_01]: Next match.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_00]: We have an unsanction match.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_00]: I'll find out there's a pet peeve of yours, but on sanction match Jacob Fattu versus Drew McIntyre.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I got Jacob Fattu going over and by the way, if it's unsanctioned, then it shouldn't be on the card, right?
- 29:33[SPEAKER_01]: Because the Las Vegas Athletic Commission would not let you have it if it's an unsanction match, right?
- 29:37[SPEAKER_00]: Well, when they're sticklers too, they are.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_01]: You know, so yeah, I'm crawling bullshit on the on the stipulation, but Jacob Fattu goes over to my container unfortunately has this this gatekeeper or to him now, which is unfortunate because I think he's really really good.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_01]: My dad also has Jacob Fattu.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_01]: I got Jacob Fattu winning winning this.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_01]: I think this is going to be a really good match, by the way.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_01]: Like I don't, yeah, I don't think there's a world where these two guys put on a stinker.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_00]: No, it'll be good, it'll be hard hitting.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_00]: I also have Fox 2 winning.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_00]: I just think he's on the, on the come up, right?
- 30:13[SPEAKER_00]: And I think they're preparing him for a bigger role within the company in a win over a former world champion.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_00]: Can certainly help get you there.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_02]: All right, next match.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_00]: We have the woman's world championship match.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie Vicar versus Liv Morgan.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_00]: Should be a good one, elf.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, everybody wins with this one.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_01]: my thoughts exactly uh... step in the care like she has to get uh... she has to get her hand raised uh... at wrestle mania so i got to be a care my daughter has lived more than on this but i got the care winning this and this is a good match by the way
- 30:48[SPEAKER_00]: And I think it could go either way.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_00]: I think I'll go with Liv Morgan on this one.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_00]: If only just because she's got this new music video out, I don't know if she's starting a musical career or what she's doing, so maybe winning the championship helps put some steam behind that.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm with you, Alph, I think we're all winners watching this one.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_01]: Next match.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_00]: We've got another women's match this time for the Intercontinental Championship, AJ Lee,
- 31:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I tell these probably going to go on vacation now.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_01]: So Beckley's just going to win this, will this be a good match?
- 31:23[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like their last one.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_01]: So we shall see, you know, maybe they're chemistry grows a little bit and it'll be a better match.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_01]: My daughter also has Becky Lynch.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_01]: I think this is one of the more predictable matches.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_01]: There you go, this is gonna be a hell of a swarve.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_01]: Have AJ Lee win.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, AJ Lee shouldn't be around for too long.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_01]: She'll go back into the shadows and she'll come back in four, five months.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_01]: Becky Lynch wins this one.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I agree.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_00]: I think, you know, AJ Lee coming back was done to pop ratings and draw interest for the times that she competed.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_00]: I think her times over.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_00]: I think Becky Lynch is ready to take the belt and then eventually pass it on to somebody who needs it.
- 32:08[SPEAKER_00]: So I will also go with Becky Lynch.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_02]: Next match.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_00]: Now we find ourselves talking about another championship held by women women's tag team championship match.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_00]: Naya Jax and Lash legend versus Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss versus Bailey and Lyra Valkyria versus the Bella twins.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_01]: How many people are in this match?
- 32:32[SPEAKER_00]: Like this is a 14 a 14 match.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_00]: So eight women involved.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'm already confused reading all the names in it.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_01]: My daughter says the bell twins will win.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_01]: You think that that makes a little bit of sense.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_01]: Like, give them a nod at WrestleMania.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think that they ever had like a moment at WrestleMania that they weren't like a valet for or anything like that.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_00]: you'd have to go back match by match, but yet nothing that immediately stands out, you know, it's not a bad idea, Nicky and Bree get in their moment.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_00]: When you think about them partnering with ESPN and things like that, that's those are people that you put out there and a casual wrestling fan or even a non wrestling fan can recognize, oh, I think I know who the Bella twins are.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_00]: So, not a bad idea.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_00]: I think I'm actually going to go with Bailey and Lyra,
- 33:26[SPEAKER_00]: On this one, throw them a bone and, you know, Bailey's a fan favorite, so maybe they're going for a feel good moment here.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and that's one of the wrestling tropes I'm actually in favor of, which is the monster tag team, which WWE is very known for this.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_01]: But they got Nia Jax and last legend, like that's a monster tag team, like that's a tag team that's not supposed to lose.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_01]: But this is the perfect cover to have them loose put 5,000 teams in the ring with them and then it's not their fault that they lose, you know, it's something weird happens, somebody else gets pinned and, you know, it doesn't hurt them in the least bit and they could still do their thing.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_01]: down the line.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, that's one of the recent tropes I actually do enjoy, which is the monster tag team.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it hurts the metal if they have the bell twins when my daughter says the bell twins, I agree with her and you got Bailey and Lyra Valkyria next match.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_00]: All right, from a monster tag team to a monster individual, Gunther versus my guy, Seth Rollins.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_01]: Gunther does lose.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_01]: And if he does lose, it's like a really, really big deal.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_01]: I think you want to build this for something else, right?
- 34:40[SPEAKER_01]: Because it's kind of like, you know, like what's their beef?
- 34:43[SPEAKER_01]: They have no beef, but now there's one.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_01]: So why not start it off with a gunther ass kicking at WrestleMania and then have Seth Rollins chasing a little bit and who knows, maybe down the road, a belt is involved.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_01]: So I got gunther going over.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_01]: You got to protect them a little bit like he's he's pretty much your best wrestling heel.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, don't give him a loss here.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_01]: I got gunther winning this.
- 35:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm with you there, uh, you know, as much as I'd love to tell you that Rawland should win this one.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he needs to.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_00]: I think his legacy has been cemented as one of the top in ring performers of his era.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe of all time.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I do think maybe you might see some involvement with Braun Breaker.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_00]: Bronson Reed, I don't know where they're at in terms of their recoveries from injury, but if they're able to get involved in some way shape or form to kind of restart that feud between Rollins and the Vision, I think they could help Gunther win this one, so I will also pick Gunther in this match.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_01]: And I will be teach tape, by the way, because pound for pound.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_01]: I think those are the two best from heel and baby face.
- 35:58[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's the two best wrestlers in WWE today.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_01]: So...
- 36:02[SPEAKER_01]: That match would be teach tape like this is their their macho man steamboat moment.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, it could be very, very good.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_00]: Now, if we got one more match on Saturday and this one is for the undisputed championship, Cody Rhodes defense against Randy Orton with Pat McAfee in his corner.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_01]: They're laying on the Randy Orton stuff very, very, very thick, and usually when they do that, then they just go the other way and, and, and, and, and Roads wins.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I think that they're laying it on thick, and he's going to win.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_01]: I think Randy Orton wins.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_01]: My daughter also has Randy Orton.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_01]: So, I got Randy Orton winning that.
- 36:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'll take Randy Orton as well.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_00]: I'm less interested in the outcome and more interested as to how this match ends up, right?
- 36:53[SPEAKER_00]: Because I could see Randy Orton winning this one, especially because it's Saturday and we have another night.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, you have no problem putting the heel over night one, you know, people are already going to watch night two anyways.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_00]: But,
- 37:06[SPEAKER_00]: somebody floated an idea to me recently not any inside information on this no spoiler alert needed but wouldn't it be kind of interesting if Cody Rhodes became the new face of corporate WWE corporate TKO and he turned heel and aligned himself with Stephanie McMahon who you know those two recently had an interaction on raw
- 37:28[SPEAKER_00]: We're Stephanie seemed to get under Cody skin just a little bit, so maybe Cody joins up with the corporation, the new corporation, and becomes that that three piece suit wherein, you know, henchmen for these guys, and I could see it happening.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_00]: I think I think he would fit well in that role.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_01]: Can you imagine, I think the promos would write themselves.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_01]: Can you imagine him cutting a promo with, if you can't afford to take it, you know, screw you?
- 38:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_01]: I don't wrestle for you.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: I don't wrestle for you, you clowns on it that are watching us on TV.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_01]: I wrestle for you that can afford to watch me perform.
- 38:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 38:13[SPEAKER_01]: Look, I just wrote the premise for a great promo.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_00]: It could be interesting.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_00]: It could be a very interesting direction.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I would love those promos by the way, but you know, I like the asshole, the asshole, he'll promos.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_00]: So, all right, moving on to tonight two night two and we're kicking it off and they said this is opening match for night two maybe my most anticipated match of the weekend.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this is going to be a heavy, heavy duty, uh, I was talking to a friend of mine, and this is interesting.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_01]: They're remaking escape from New York.
- 38:56[SPEAKER_01]: Did you ever see that movie?
- 38:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, Kurt Russell.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Kurt Russell.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_01]: They're remaking escape from New York.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_01]: In that movie, there's a very long fight scene with a very famous pro wrestler.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_01]: Do you remember the pro wrestler's name?
- 39:11[SPEAKER_00]: No, I do not.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_01]: Is they Hall of Famer in all time, or you don't remember?
- 39:16[SPEAKER_01]: Oxbaker.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_01]: So we were casting that role and we were thinking this match is essentially.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_01]: for the casting of that role that movie begins shooting in the summer and they don't have the snake-pliscan cast yet.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, they're going to choose Kurt Russell's son, right?
- 39:41[SPEAKER_01]: Because he speaks like them.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_01]: It kind of looks like them a little bit.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_01]: He's a really good actor.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_01]: He has some, some, some, you know, some size to him.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_01]: But that wrestling scene that fight scene,
- 39:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, if you've got a, if you've got a, you know, cast that role, Oxpaker's role, Brock Lesnar, Obofemio is the perfect role.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_01]: So, I would, you know, I keep an eye on that.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe, maybe that's something that's going to happen for Lesnar here, which is why I got Obofemio winning, so does my daughter.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_01]: I don't see there, I don't, how is there a world where we know he's gone in a summer.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_01]: At Summerslam I believe that's him in the soda his hometown, right?
- 40:25[SPEAKER_01]: How the hell is he gonna go over here?
- 40:27[SPEAKER_01]: So I think it's been hard hitting.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_01]: It's gonna be a lot of fun.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_01]: But Omafemi pulls this one out.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_00]: You might see Lesnar go over here so that we can get a rematch at Summerslam and then maybe Oma takes him out there.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever the outcome is, I do think Omafemi is the future of WWE.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's a fantastic all around
- 40:50[SPEAKER_00]: But I think on Monday you got to see what he can do with the microphone in his hands and I don't know many people who thought he was going to be able to cut a promo like he did on Monday.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_00]: I thought that was quite impressive, so I think you strap a rocket to the back of Obafemi and you let him make you money.
- 41:08[SPEAKER_00]: I'll take Obafemi in this one as well.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and Obofemi has one of those rare, uh, he has a rare asset that most professional wrestlers, I think, would kill for, which is that if you watch him, you overestimate his size.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's true.
- 41:27[SPEAKER_01]: You know, like if you're a pro pro wrestler, you want people to look at you and say, man, that guy's six, five, two hundred and seventy pounds, but you're actually six, three, two hundred and forty five pounds.
- 41:37[SPEAKER_01]: And I mean, and I get that with a little bit of family, like a little bit of family looks to, I look at him.
- 41:41[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, oh, yeah, that guy's six, that guy was a former defensive man or defensive tackle.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_01]: He's like six, five, two, ninety, but he's actually like six, three, two, fifty, five.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's still a big guy, but his presence is even bigger.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_00]: His aura is bigger as the kids would say.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, right out.
- 41:59[SPEAKER_00]: We got a ladder match on night two.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_00]: We got a ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_00]: Another one of those matches with the whole bunch of names.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_00]: Penta defends against Jovon Evans, Dragon Lee, JD McDonough, Rusev, and Ray Mysterio, the returning Ray Mysterio, Intercontinental Championship ladder match.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_01]: All right, it's a ladder match, so you can start eliminating certain names, right, like you're going to eliminate Rusev.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_00]: Here you go.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_01]: I think you're going to eliminate Giovanna Evans because he's going to be the, although he's really athletic.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_01]: You could, you can eliminate JD McDonough for obvious reasons, but so it has to be one of the loot yours, right?
- 42:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think we're going to go over Lee Ray.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so Pena goes over and my daughter also has Pena going over.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_00]: I think they might throw us a curve ball on this one.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_00]: I think I'm gonna go with Javan Evans.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why, you know, I think he's been impressive.
- 42:54[SPEAKER_00]: He's young.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_00]: He's real young.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_00]: He hasn't quite hit that time in life as a man when you get pumped full of natural testosterone.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_00]: He's still a slender individual.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think once that happens, if he can keep his athleticism while bulking up, I think this guy's the limit for Javan Evans.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_00]: I just, I don't know.
- 43:14[SPEAKER_00]: I think maybe they throw him a bone here.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_00]: I'll, I'll just say Evans.
- 43:18[SPEAKER_00]: I'll say Evans.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_02]: Next month.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_00]: Women's championship match night two Jade Cargill versus Rhea Ripley, a much more slim down Rhea Ripley.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_01]: And Rept.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_01]: Like, uh.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_01]: I'm looking forward to this match to see what they make of it because Rea Ripley is like really, really good.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know, are they going to reward the green, the green horn in this one?
- 43:48[SPEAKER_01]: I doubt it.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_01]: I think they want to extend this program a little bit.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_01]: So Rea goes over in this match and Jay and Jay chases for the next few months.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I would put Rhea over.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_00]: I think Jade, Jade, when you look at her, she looks like a million and one dollars, right?
- 44:08[SPEAKER_00]: Not even just a million bucks.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_00]: She's worth more than that.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_00]: She's everything you would want in a superstar, a top level superstar.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_00]: but her wrestling ability just isn't there yet.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know she gets enough opportunities to practice her craft.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know who's fault that is.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe it's the writing team's fault.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe it's her fault.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe she's not putting in enough effort.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not sure.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_00]: I think she has a bright future.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_00]: But if I'm booking this one, I'm putting the title on Rear Ripley.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm probably going somewhere else with this feud.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_00]: Um, letting them kind of spend some time apart.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_00]: These girls don't like each other in real life, but you know, if internet reports are to be believed.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_00]: So this one could end up being a pretty heavy hitting contest.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_00]: So this is when you got to sit in front of your TV and watch.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, as Dusty Rhodes famously said, and I don't do a Dusty Rhodes voice, unfortunately.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you do one, but he famously said, you do moves.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_01]: You don't wrestle, baby.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_01]: So I would tell Jake Cardo, yeah, you do moves, but you don't wrestle.
- 45:15[SPEAKER_01]: Get into the gym.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_01]: Work on it.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_01]: I think real Ripley.
- 45:19[SPEAKER_01]: And my daughter has it the same way.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, real Ripley, because she deserves it.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_01]: Jake Cardo needs she needs work.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_01]: Now, by the way, now you do what Dusty Rhodes because I don't.
- 45:29[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, occasionally, I'll do a Dusty Rhodes.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_00]: You gotta let me warm up a little bit, though, but uh, it's not too bad, baby.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_01]: But you agree with that, right?
- 45:39[SPEAKER_01]: She does moves.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_01]: She doesn't wrestle.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, yeah.
- 45:42[SPEAKER_00]: In my gym, we would call that play wrestling.
- 45:44[SPEAKER_00]: You're playing wrestler.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_00]: Now I need you to be a wrestler.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_00]: Next match.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 45:56[SPEAKER_01]: Ah, this is going to be good.
- 45:57[SPEAKER_01]: This is going to be a really, really good match.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_01]: That is about time, right?
- 46:04[SPEAKER_01]: Like trick welcomes been around for a minute.
- 46:08[SPEAKER_01]: He's been NXT champion.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_01]: I got that right, right?
- 46:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yep, quality the former two.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so yeah, give him a win on the biggest stage and you know, Sam Zain doesn't need it.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_01]: Like Sam is saying you can put him on any card and he's already over.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_01]: So he doesn't need it.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_01]: Trick will probably do so trick Williams has it and my daughter also has trick Williams going over.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I heard somebody's long form fantasy booking has Sami Zain winning the heavyweight championship next year at WrestleMania when it's in Saudi, you know, he has he has that in his blood, right, so maybe.
- 46:44[SPEAKER_00]: It in ways a hometown hero going over next year, WrestleMania.
- 46:48[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't think he needs to hold the US championship to get him into that position.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_00]: I think you need to be doing some other things with him between now and then.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_00]: So I'll take trick Williams in this one as well.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, next month.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_00]: Here, here comes a sneaky show stealer, right?
- 47:06[SPEAKER_00]: This is one that when it's all said and done, you might look back and say this could have been best match in the night.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_00]: And that's between Finn Baller and Dominic Mysterio.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_00]: There's some, there's a story going into this one, some heat going into this one, two very quality performers, as well as a really solid,
- 47:24[SPEAKER_00]: uh... gimmick in dominant misterial and fin baller bringing back the demon for this one it's been announced so demon fin baller versus dominant misterio who you got out well demon fin ballers never lost right so so you're not going to have them lose now
- 47:42[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that's a hell of a thing, right?
- 47:43[SPEAKER_01]: If demon, Finn Balor loses.
- 47:46[SPEAKER_01]: But now I got demon, Finn Balor winning, because he's never lost.
- 47:50[SPEAKER_01]: Thought it was, well, has the same thing.
- 47:53[SPEAKER_00]: I will also take Finn Balor, but I think this is going to be right up there with my favorite matches of both nights, not even just Sunday, but I think this is gonna be a really good one.
- 48:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I agree.
- 48:05[SPEAKER_00]: All right, off.
- 48:06[SPEAKER_00]: One match left.
- 48:07[SPEAKER_00]: We're here.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_00]: We did it main event WrestleMania night two world heavyweight championship Roman Reigns challenges CM Punk for the title for all the marbles.
- 48:19[SPEAKER_01]: Well, he made it.
- 48:20[SPEAKER_01]: CM Punk made it to a main event at WrestleMania.
- 48:24[SPEAKER_01]: So that's done.
- 48:25[SPEAKER_01]: And now he can lose to Roman Reigns.
- 48:29[SPEAKER_01]: I think they want to build something with Roman Reigns.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_01]: There's so many ways you can go with Roman Reigns.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_01]: And CM Punk is one of these guys that he just doesn't need it.
- 48:37[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't need a belt.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't need to be parading around with the belt and being the champion, being the face of the company.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_01]: So he doesn't need it.
- 48:46[SPEAKER_01]: Roman Reigns might.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, because for whatever reason and I think it's a good thing.
- 48:52[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it's a bad thing because usually it's a bad thing.
- 48:54[SPEAKER_01]: If a guy needs to be operating around with where the strap to be taking seriously.
- 49:00[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's just because he carries it so well.
- 49:03[SPEAKER_01]: Like certain guys you look at and you go, that guy's champ, right?
- 49:07[SPEAKER_01]: I think Roman Reigns is one of those guys and they could go so many ways with Roman Reigns in the strap.
- 49:12[SPEAKER_01]: So I think Roman Reigns pulls this one out and wins.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 49:16[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, it almost feels like Roman's Hollywood career isn't going as smoothly or as well as he had hoped.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe his focus will be more on WWE here in the coming months and the coming years.
- 49:31[SPEAKER_00]: And I think you're right, Alfa, I think Roman.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_00]: taking the championship at the end of WrestleMania night, too.
- 49:37[SPEAKER_00]: That's a nice newsworthy headline that you can flash all across ESPN and Sports Center, and people will be clicking on links and reading stories, and yeah, I got Roman winning this one myself.
- 49:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and my daughter also
- 49:57[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 49:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think we could call it right there next week is the the draft.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_01]: What do you want to do for for draft week.
- 50:03[SPEAKER_01]: You want to do a mock draft or something.
- 50:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 50:05[SPEAKER_00]: Why not.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_00]: We'll pull up the old mock draft machine and get all 11 picks for the dolphins done.
- 50:12[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 50:12[SPEAKER_01]: We'll do that.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to do the whole draft perfect.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_01]: We'll go.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_01]: We'll go day one and day two.
- 50:18[SPEAKER_01]: on the first half of the show next week and we'll do date three on the second half of the show next week or we go half in half we'll figure it out but we'll do that on the show next week but till then peace thanks for listening to the off-season American out until next time raise your fans raise your glasses and we'll talk to you next week
