- 0:07Speaker 1: The Season with Peter Schrager is a production of the
- 0:09Speaker 1: NFL in partnership with iHeartRadio. Every week on this show
- 0:30Speaker 1: on Monday Morning, we gave a Coach of the Week award.
- 0:33Speaker 1: It could be a head coach, could be an assistant coach,
- 0:35Speaker 1: could be a special teams coordinator. This week, it's going
- 0:37Speaker 1: to the offensive coordinator of the Washington Commander's Cliff kingsband
- 0:42Speaker 1: all Right, who spent the week listening to questions from
- 0:45Speaker 1: the local.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Media asking him what is wrong with your offense? Why
- 0:49Speaker 2: can't this offense get right?
- 0:51Speaker 3: And everyone jumping off that Commander's bandwagon? What did they do?
- 0:56Speaker 2: They came out hot, they came out early, and they
- 0:59Speaker 2: jumped out to a twenty eight to nothing lead. Commanders
- 1:02Speaker 2: established this game right away with a first and second
- 1:06Speaker 2: quarterer of dominance on the offensive side of the ball
- 1:09Speaker 2: against a very good Titans defense. Clipped in about two
- 1:14Speaker 2: media session since that crazy loss to the Cowboys, and
- 1:17Speaker 2: every question was why is this team starting off slow?
- 1:20Speaker 3: And it's fair to ask those questions, Well, what happened
- 1:23Speaker 3: this weekend?
- 1:24Speaker 2: Take a look at the difference between their last three games,
- 1:27Speaker 2: which have all been losses, and on the offensive side
- 1:29Speaker 2: of the ball what they were able to do, combined
- 1:31Speaker 2: with of course an amazing special teams in defensive production,
- 1:34Speaker 2: but four hundred and sixty three yards they ran the
- 1:38Speaker 2: ball two hundred and sixty seven yards down that Titans.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Titans to have Jeffrey Simmons and Devandre Sweat in the middle.
- 1:45Speaker 2: And look at that last number average time of possession.
- 1:48Speaker 2: They've only had the ball for twenty five minutes, and
- 1:49Speaker 2: those three losses they held the ball for forty minutes.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Everyone wanted to get rid of the Commander Sherry. They're
- 1:55Speaker 2: alive and well in the NFC playoff pitchure. Cliff Kingsbury
- 1:58Speaker 2: gets our Coach.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Of the Week.
- 2:00Speaker 2: It's a Wednesday Shows tradition. We did the top five rookies.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Let's get right into it with number five, a guy
- 2:06Speaker 2: who lost but did it in national television and was,
- 2:09Speaker 2: I don't know, the most.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Dominant player in football yet again.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Let's give Brock Bowers his love. Unbelievable player. He leads
- 2:16Speaker 2: all tight ends and receptions like he's unreal this year
- 2:20Speaker 2: and he was so good on Thursday. Here's eighty O'Connell
- 2:24Speaker 2: at a Purdue hitting Brock Bowers get ten catches, one
- 2:28Speaker 2: hundred and forty receiving yards, a receiving touchdown against the
- 2:32Speaker 2: Steve Spegnolo defense. I had Trent McDuffie covering him. He's
- 2:35Speaker 2: one handed grabs like the entire game I'm watching, and
- 2:38Speaker 2: I'm just a guy on a couch a Thanksgiving weekend,
- 2:41Speaker 2: you know, just trying to nurse my hangover. And I'm like,
- 2:44Speaker 2: Bowers is amazing. He does all these stutter step moves.
- 2:47Speaker 3: He was doing angry runs.
- 2:49Speaker 2: It was his fifth different game with eight catches and
- 2:53Speaker 2: ninety receiving yards.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Guys, check this stat out. Let's look at the full
- 2:57Speaker 3: screen here. I think this really puts it in perspective. Here,
- 3:00Speaker 3: how good rock Bowers is.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Most receptions any player any position, first twelve games of
- 3:10Speaker 2: their careers.
- 3:11Speaker 3: Cool rock Bowers is seven.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Behind Odell, who had one of the breakthrough seasons.
- 3:15Speaker 3: I remember Puka came on strong at the end. Jalen
- 3:19Speaker 3: Wattle was consistent throughout.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Rock Bowers is the second most through twelve career games.
- 3:25Speaker 2: I know they lost that wasn't on because of him.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Rock Bowers number five in our list. Number four, we
- 3:30Speaker 2: go to a guy who won and won by having
- 3:33Speaker 2: another one hundred and fifty yard scrimmage day.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Bucky the Duck. Bucky Irving is our number four player
- 3:41Speaker 3: on the list.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Bucky Irving when it mattered most in a nail bier
- 3:44Speaker 2: against the Panthers, was fantastic.
- 3:47Speaker 3: Again. I believe Bucky Irving.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Is having the best season of any of the running
- 3:52Speaker 2: backs drafted in this last draft class, and doing so
- 3:55Speaker 2: by a country mile. This is the fourth different time
- 3:58Speaker 2: Bucky Irving has.
- 3:59Speaker 3: Showed up on this list.
- 4:00Speaker 2: If it wasn't for six different quarterbacks and some of
- 4:03Speaker 2: the best wide receivers, this guy might be in the
- 4:04Speaker 2: conversation for off defensive Rookie of the Year. Bucky Irving
- 4:08Speaker 2: another tremendous day. That one right there that could have
- 4:11Speaker 2: been angry.
- 4:11Speaker 3: I know that was pretty good. He'll get there.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Bucky Irving awesome in Carolina for the Tampamay Buccaneers.
- 4:17Speaker 3: Number three, first time on the list.
- 4:21Speaker 2: University of Maryland defensive back and rookie for Jim Harboss Chargers.
- 4:25Speaker 4: How about Tarheed Still? This guy's reebus, this guy's artein
- 4:29Speaker 4: Still was game? Taried Still a Jersey boy from sickers Bill.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Okay, this is he had two different picks. He had
- 4:40Speaker 2: three tackles, and he also had the huge pick six
- 4:44Speaker 2: in this game that was so so huge to turn
- 4:48Speaker 2: the tie. I think Kirk Cousins is going to sleep
- 4:51Speaker 2: tonight and he's having nightmares of.
- 4:52Speaker 3: Tarheed's still star Still.
- 4:56Speaker 2: It was the first pick six by a rookie since
- 4:58Speaker 2: twoy seventeen. He also was covering two guys who have
- 5:02Speaker 2: had huge years, Drake London and Darnell Mooney. Against those guys,
- 5:08Speaker 2: he covered twenty two different snaps and gave up one
- 5:12Speaker 2: catch for seven yards. Tarheed's still you you make the
- 5:16Speaker 2: list now, Lad mcconkey's not in the list. He had
- 5:19Speaker 2: seven catches for one hundred yards. We celebrate the offensive guys.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Had to give Tarheed Still the former Turps some love
- 5:24Speaker 2: which leads to our top two. And these are gonna
- 5:26Speaker 2: be the top two guys when it comes to the
- 5:29Speaker 2: offensive Rookie of the Year debate for the next several weeks.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Who do I have as number one? Who do I
- 5:34Speaker 2: have his number two? Let's start off with the silver medal.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Monday Night's winning quarterback bone Knicks. Bone Knicks is number
- 5:40Speaker 2: two on the list was awesome again and it was
- 5:43Speaker 2: this play which was so awesome but clutch when he
- 5:46Speaker 2: had to be Knicks through for one touchdown pass this one.
- 5:49Speaker 3: But he had two hundred and ninety four yards.
- 5:51Speaker 2: He also ran the ball when he had two four
- 5:53Speaker 2: yards in a big play there. Sixth rookie the quarterback
- 5:56Speaker 2: A six rookie quarterbacks wu will Era to win each
- 5:58Speaker 2: of his first two primetime games, and they've got another
- 6:01Speaker 2: one coming up against the Chargers.
- 6:03Speaker 3: And a huge one on a Thursday night.
- 6:04Speaker 2: He leads all rookies with seventeen passing touchdowns. He's tied
- 6:08Speaker 2: for the most wins among rookie quarterbacks with Jayden And
- 6:11Speaker 2: I'll go back to that play again. Let's go to
- 6:14Speaker 2: Buck and Aikman on what might have been the most
- 6:16Speaker 2: purest paths of the entire weekend.
- 6:18Speaker 3: Maybe the season. Bon Nicks to second year man Mims.
- 6:23Speaker 5: Third and eleven down the Metal Mimes, He's gone touchdown
- 6:29Speaker 5: Denver Marvin Mims walks it in. They needed eleven on
- 6:35Speaker 5: third and eleven. They get ninety three and a touchdown
- 6:39Speaker 5: to Mimes, the rookie smile on his face, pumping up
- 6:44Speaker 5: the crowd.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Bon Nicks is having a good old time, and so
- 6:46Speaker 2: are those Broncos fans. Best part about this Broncos season.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Bon Nicks is doing all that. They're on the Biere
- 6:52Speaker 2: on the was texting with Sean Payton Humble Bragg and
- 6:55Speaker 2: he's like, oh, buddy, I'm going to Florida.
- 6:57Speaker 3: This weekend, Like I'm taking a couple of days. I'm
- 6:59Speaker 3: a good treat yourself.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Sean back in the lab after that, and he's got
- 7:02Speaker 2: bon Nicks.
- 7:02Speaker 3: But that's not the number one player.
- 7:04Speaker 2: The number one player, We're going back to the guy
- 7:06Speaker 2: who is running point on this segment for the first
- 7:08Speaker 2: half of the season, Jaden Daniels, quarterback and our number
- 7:12Speaker 2: one rook him. This week, Daniels was twenty five to
- 7:15Speaker 2: thirty for eighty three percent completion percentage. Jesson what he
- 7:19Speaker 2: does two hundred and six passing yards, three touchdowns, a
- 7:24Speaker 2: one fourteen passer rating, thirty four rushing yards, and a touchdown.
- 7:29Speaker 2: It was his first career game with four touchdowns.
- 7:32Speaker 3: Did that.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Daniels in Week thirteen became the first rookie in NFL
- 7:36Speaker 2: history with an eighty percent completion percentage, three passing touchdowns,
- 7:41Speaker 2: and a rushing touchdown in a single game. He's the
- 7:43Speaker 2: first player of any any career year, anyone, any player
- 7:48Speaker 2: to do so since twenty two, to do so in
- 7:49Speaker 2: twenty twenty four. That's veterans and rookies. You go through
- 7:53Speaker 2: the list of NFL history and you look at some
- 7:56Speaker 2: of the stats, he's up there with all of them
- 7:58Speaker 2: for completed percentage and also just accuracy and not throwing interceptions.
- 8:02Speaker 3: Jaden Daniels that guy.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Here's our list, guys. Peyton Wilson had a huge defensive play.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Lad McConkey was awesome this week. Marvin Harrison was tremendous.
- 8:15Speaker 2: There's a lot of guys left off. Caleb Williams was great,
- 8:17Speaker 2: incredible second half, and we're going with these guys.
- 8:20Speaker 3: Kyle, your thoughts on a fab five Bowers drafted thirteenth
- 8:24Speaker 3: to the Raiders. Peter, what gets your hair blown back?
- 8:27Speaker 3: About a redraft? This year? This best best draft?
- 8:30Speaker 2: Jets were all in for this season. Jets were all
- 8:32Speaker 2: in and all they were talking about is.
- 8:34Speaker 3: How they got to get all in in alignment.
- 8:35Speaker 2: I don't think it would have made any difference. They
- 8:37Speaker 2: took alignment at Penn State. Who was awesome this week?
- 8:39Speaker 3: Olu?
- 8:39Speaker 2: Who might end up being the next Lomas Brown or
- 8:42Speaker 2: the next you know you name. It might be Orlando
- 8:44Speaker 2: pace for all we know. But to pass on Bowers
- 8:47Speaker 2: when you were all in and Rogers is your quarterback,
- 8:50Speaker 2: I don't know. The Jets were interested in Bowers and
- 8:52Speaker 2: they went with the offensive tackle.
- 8:53Speaker 3: You could debate it for years. To be the best
- 8:55Speaker 3: part of what the Raiders have done this year is Bower.
- 8:56Speaker 3: It's the best thing that's happened to the Powers.
- 8:58Speaker 6: When you look at Rock Bowers. I went to Brock
- 9:01Speaker 6: Bowers as well. On the right side of the screen.
- 9:02Speaker 6: Eighty four catches that leads the league. It's Jamar Chase
- 9:06Speaker 6: this see lamb is seventy nine, like he It's not rookies,
- 9:09Speaker 6: not tight ends.
- 9:09Speaker 3: It's like leading the league. That's insane.
- 9:11Speaker 6: Eighty four catches and like this is with like wonky
- 9:13Speaker 6: quarterback play, Like this is a phenomenon.
- 9:16Speaker 5: I love this for ours.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, me too.
- 9:19Speaker 7: I remember talking to coach Ap when it went down
- 9:21Speaker 7: to the facility and he was just like just so
- 9:24Speaker 7: high on, you know, on Brock Barers and what he
- 9:26Speaker 7: brings to the offense. So it's exciting to see him
- 9:29Speaker 7: get this recognition, even despite the fact that the Raiders
- 9:32Speaker 7: are struggling. But I got to say to you, though,
- 9:34Speaker 7: Peter like, what about Cooper Dejean one hundred and ninety
- 9:37Speaker 7: eight pounds He took down a tour and fifty six
- 9:40Speaker 7: pounds running back at sixty four. I mean that was
- 9:43Speaker 7: right there was that was that play alone should have
- 9:46Speaker 7: put him up in the conversation.
- 9:48Speaker 2: Yeah, okbar, he's been awesome and he had the tackle
- 9:50Speaker 2: of the week, no doubt.
- 9:51Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm still crying for more Beanie, Bishop Peter my
- 9:54Speaker 4: Guyan I thought in their show every.
- 9:56Speaker 3: Week Tari Pepson has an argument.
- 9:59Speaker 2: I know his teammate Peyton Wilson was pretty darn good
- 10:01Speaker 2: with a fumber recovery touchdown himself. So great week for
- 10:04Speaker 2: the rookies and they're only getting better at the season one.
- 10:23Speaker 2: The timing of the firing starts you off in an
- 10:26Speaker 2: unfortunate spot. Looks like you're discombobulated in an organized because
- 10:29Speaker 2: there was a nine am Central Time press conference scheduled
- 10:34Speaker 2: that Matty Ebfood's going to do his zoom with reporters
- 10:36Speaker 2: and answer every question.
- 10:38Speaker 3: And the theory that we even had on the.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Show on Friday morning was if if he's doing the
- 10:43Speaker 2: press conference. Obviously there was a conversation and they're like,
- 10:46Speaker 2: all right, let him do that and then he's good
- 10:48Speaker 2: and we'll keep on going. You wouldn't trot him out
- 10:50Speaker 2: for his second media session in twenty four hours and
- 10:53Speaker 2: then fire him. However, what I've learned from reporting is
- 10:56Speaker 2: that the Bears and they were inflexible on this.
- 10:58Speaker 3: I guess they didn't want to change it.
- 11:00Speaker 2: They also had a nine am Central time meeting with
- 11:03Speaker 2: Kevin Warren, the president, George McCaskey, the owner, Ryan Poles
- 11:07Speaker 2: the GM to talk about the future of the head
- 11:09Speaker 2: coach and where they were going to go, so they.
- 11:12Speaker 3: Didn't change the times on either one of those.
- 11:14Speaker 2: He does the full press conference, he's talking about playing
- 11:17Speaker 2: the forty nine ers next week, game planning and doesn't
- 11:20Speaker 2: seem to show a ton of contrition like that one
- 11:22Speaker 2: was on me. And then minutes after the press conference
- 11:26Speaker 2: he's told to come into the owner's office and he's
- 11:29Speaker 2: handed his walking papers. They have since now fired Shane Waldron,
- 11:33Speaker 2: who was a big hire at OC, and Matt Eberflus
- 11:37Speaker 2: with years left on their contracts.
- 11:40Speaker 3: So what's next.
- 11:41Speaker 2: I revealed some names yesterday on the Fox show. Ian
- 11:44Speaker 2: of course, did his work on the NFL Network show
- 11:47Speaker 2: You're going to hear.
- 11:48Speaker 3: The obvious ones. Vrabel's going to be mentioned.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Cliff Kingsbury, who coached Caleb in college, is going to
- 11:54Speaker 2: be mentioned. But I will say this with a red
- 11:55Speaker 2: flag on the Cliff thing. They interviewed Cliff Kingsbury eight
- 11:59Speaker 2: hours last year to be the offensive coordinator with Caleb
- 12:03Speaker 2: and chose Shane Waldron over him.
- 12:05Speaker 3: Does that mean that he is interviewed?
- 12:07Speaker 2: Does that mean if they didn't like him for the
- 12:08Speaker 2: offensive coordinator job and I suddenly Gonn a year later,
- 12:11Speaker 2: be like, actually, you're our head coach.
- 12:12Speaker 3: We'll see how that goes.
- 12:14Speaker 2: And then, of course Ben Johnson and Vrabel are other names.
- 12:16Speaker 2: I threw Marcus Freeman's name out there yesterday. He's the
- 12:19Speaker 2: head coach at Notre Dame, and it made waves and.
- 12:22Speaker 3: It was causing love.
- 12:24Speaker 2: I say that with knowledge of the situation. Kevin Warren
- 12:27Speaker 2: comes from the college world. They're looking for the leader
- 12:30Speaker 2: of men type. They might want to go younger as
- 12:33Speaker 2: opposed to going the Belichick route, and I'm not so sure.
- 12:37Speaker 2: Mike Vrabel is dying to go to the Bears if
- 12:40Speaker 2: that's their number one, if they want that type of
- 12:42Speaker 2: CEO thing. Marcus Freeman played at Ohio State. Obviously, it's
- 12:47Speaker 2: connections to the Bears. Hot name in college coaching. I
- 12:50Speaker 2: would think that's a name you'll hear more about for
- 12:52Speaker 2: that specific.
- 12:53Speaker 3: Job than for maybe others.
- 12:55Speaker 2: I think Marcus Freeman is one to watch, the Notre
- 12:57Speaker 2: Dame head coach for that. Chicago Bears gig that the
- 13:01Speaker 2: playoffs were going to start today, which they don't. The
- 13:04Speaker 2: Chiefs would have the first week off and then they
- 13:06Speaker 2: would host the AFC playoffs the rest of the way.
- 13:09Speaker 2: And yet I have grave concern about this Kansas City team.
- 13:13Speaker 2: They played down to the level of whoever they are
- 13:16Speaker 2: against the Raiders on Friday. Absolutely dominated at the line
- 13:21Speaker 2: of scrimmage.
- 13:21Speaker 3: And this is new for Chiefs fans.
- 13:24Speaker 2: It's one thing to be in these shootouts and these
- 13:27Speaker 2: thrilling games. I mean, you have to have serious concern
- 13:32Speaker 2: if you're a Chiefs fan that Patrick Mahomes even gonna
- 13:34Speaker 2: make it through the season. The way that their offensive
- 13:36Speaker 2: line could not stop Crosby and the Rejuvenators Levion chas On,
- 13:40Speaker 2: who was also became Lawrence Taylor on Friday. Guys, it
- 13:45Speaker 2: was so bad that they took Wanya Morris, who's been
- 13:48Speaker 2: playing nobly as.
- 13:49Speaker 3: A second year guy I love. They moved him.
- 13:52Speaker 2: And they benched him, and they put Joe Toney, who's
- 13:54Speaker 2: been one bit guards and football. Joe Toney finished the
- 13:57Speaker 2: game at left tackle, which is not what they expect.
- 14:00Speaker 3: So here you go. You've got Kingsley.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Swamatia, who has been in their early and then he
- 14:06Speaker 2: got benched.
- 14:07Speaker 3: Then you got Janya Morris at left tackle.
- 14:10Speaker 2: Crosby and Chase On just absolutely destroyed them this game.
- 14:14Speaker 2: And now you've got DJ Humphreys, who was a former
- 14:19Speaker 2: star player in this league, who hasn't done a lot
- 14:21Speaker 2: in the last of the weeks coming off the ACL.
- 14:22Speaker 3: Injury, who they're waiting to get ready to play.
- 14:25Speaker 2: But like, if you're telling me the Chiefs had serious
- 14:28Speaker 2: concerns about left tackle going into the stretch run in
- 14:33Speaker 2: the playoffs, and that they're winning games against the Raiders
- 14:35Speaker 2: nineteen seventeen on weird miss snap.
- 14:37Speaker 3: Box plays by the other team.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Like, I know that there's a wherewithal and a way
- 14:41Speaker 2: to win, and there's an experience factor that's getting into
- 14:44Speaker 2: these victories. But like I watch a lot of football,
- 14:47Speaker 2: I talk to a lot of Like that's something you
- 14:49Speaker 2: can't just fix with experience and guile, like, if your
- 14:53Speaker 2: left tackle can't stop.
- 14:54Speaker 3: Anyone, you're not gonna win big games.
- 14:57Speaker 2: If your offensive line isn't good, your quarterback can't be
- 15:00Speaker 2: at his best. And if your offensive line can't stop
- 15:02Speaker 2: the Raiders defensive line, you can't establish the run.
- 15:06Speaker 3: To be all negative here, but like I came out.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Of Friday's Chiefs win feeling really down and really concerned
- 15:14Speaker 2: about what Kansas City has going on. Over the stretch run.
- 15:18Speaker 3: Was amazing and then you needed to know.
- 15:19Speaker 2: But this is what you call a body blow game.
- 15:21Speaker 2: These two teams were going after it the entire first
- 15:25Speaker 2: three quarters.
- 15:26Speaker 3: Just punch jab punch jab nine.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Nothing early, but gosh, this Eagles team just wears you
- 15:32Speaker 2: down and beats you up.
- 15:34Speaker 3: And then when you need him most their saquon like
- 15:37Speaker 3: you're waiting for the big one to pop. You're waiting
- 15:39Speaker 3: for the big one to pop, and there it is.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Someone said it was like a turnstiles on a subway here,
- 15:44Speaker 2: just spinning around.
- 15:45Speaker 3: Guys, it just finds a way. You just jump over
- 15:48Speaker 3: those No, not me, I pay my subway.
- 15:50Speaker 2: So sometimes he doesn't backwards.
- 15:51Speaker 8: That design Body Bowl game. They got on the bus
- 15:56Speaker 8: to this game. They took a bus home. They're an
- 15:59Speaker 8: old school team right now. And gosh, I got a.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Text from a friend who said, what a test of
- 16:06Speaker 2: to the Philadelphia Eagles. Look at this boy the way
- 16:09Speaker 2: most rushing yards and these two guys, but look at
- 16:12Speaker 2: that ninety of you, and then after you get to Henry,
- 16:14Speaker 2: who's having an all world season, it's like a five
- 16:17Speaker 2: hundred yard difference. This is second half alone.
- 16:20Speaker 4: Sae Quon's second half would be the fifth leading rusher
- 16:22Speaker 4: in the league.
- 16:23Speaker 3: Yes, I saw that now, So you had that he's
- 16:25Speaker 3: a killer in the second half.
- 16:27Speaker 2: And if you're in his body blow games, I said
- 16:29Speaker 2: that now four times at the end.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Like in boxing, when.
- 16:32Speaker 2: You just get bodyblow, body blow, body blow, body blow,
- 16:35Speaker 2: by the ninth, tenth round, you can't take him anymore
- 16:38Speaker 2: and you.
- 16:38Speaker 3: Just have to fall down. And that's what's happening with
- 16:41Speaker 3: these Eagles. But you know, we saw Beckton.
- 16:44Speaker 2: This is such an aside and it's probably for Eagles
- 16:47Speaker 2: dot Com or for the die hard Eagles fan. What
- 16:50Speaker 2: a testament to Stoutland, to Kellen Moore, to that offensive
- 16:55Speaker 2: line that the Jets discard of Makai Beckton can't get
- 16:59Speaker 2: his weight in shape. He's just not a player. He's
- 17:01Speaker 2: a first round bust. They stick Becton at a new position.
- 17:05Speaker 3: And he's powing over the Ravens.
- 17:08Speaker 2: Defense in crunch time and Saquon is following his lead.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Everything is going right for Philly right now. And they're
- 17:14Speaker 2: not the most esthetically pleasing team. They are an old
- 17:17Speaker 2: school boxer and they put you in the corner and
- 17:21Speaker 2: they just pound you until you can't respond. That's the
- 17:24Speaker 2: type of team that wins in January, folks, I would
- 17:28Speaker 2: say the forty nine ers have been way more disappointing.
- 17:31Speaker 2: And a player got shot in August, Like what are
- 17:34Speaker 2: we talking about here? And then you want to talk
- 17:36Speaker 2: about real life tragedies, go look at the headlines what
- 17:38Speaker 2: was going on this week with the forty nine ers,
- 17:40Speaker 2: Like this is one of those seasons that could not
- 17:42Speaker 2: end faster for San Francisco and everyone just go take
- 17:45Speaker 2: a break and we'll see.
- 17:46Speaker 3: You back in July next year.
- 17:47Speaker 2: It has been so off the rails, it has been
- 17:51Speaker 2: so tragic, and then you add in the injuries on
- 17:54Speaker 2: top of it, one player after another. Last week's injury
- 17:57Speaker 2: report was horrible going in with Bosa out and with
- 18:01Speaker 2: all these different injuries and Trent was out, and then
- 18:03Speaker 2: obviously we lose McCaffrey in a non contact in right
- 18:07Speaker 2: away and he's on the.
- 18:08Speaker 3: IR something I'm gonna jump in. You mentioned just go
- 18:11Speaker 3: to the off season and start over.
- 18:13Speaker 4: Is there any forecasts for massive change in San Francisco?
- 18:17Speaker 2: I mean like I wouldn't okay, so like Jed is
- 18:19Speaker 2: one who would obviously make changes. Jim Tumsulla fired after
- 18:23Speaker 2: a year, Chim Kelly fired after a year, They went
- 18:25Speaker 2: hired a.
- 18:25Speaker 3: Broadcaster as GM.
- 18:26Speaker 2: And it's not like Jed York isn't afraid to make a
- 18:28Speaker 2: big swing. I do not think Kyle Shannan or John
- 18:32Speaker 2: Lynch had anything to worry about. This has been such
- 18:35Speaker 2: an outlier of a season of things that those two
- 18:38Speaker 2: men can't control. And I know Niners fans are like, wow,
- 18:40Speaker 2: now wait in a second. When you talk about what
- 18:42Speaker 2: this team has been through injury wise, personal LifeWise, off
- 18:45Speaker 2: the field wise, definitely, it has been one of one
- 18:48Speaker 2: and I would say that is what makes it the
- 18:50Speaker 2: most disappointing season.
- 18:51Speaker 3: Those guys are safe if they want to be. I
- 18:53Speaker 3: love this. They could take it anywhere.
- 18:55Speaker 2: So from a generation before me, Hagler, hearns was like
- 18:58Speaker 2: the rivalry and that was one that everyone and then
- 19:00Speaker 2: before that it was Ali Fraser. But for me, growing
- 19:04Speaker 2: up a kid in the nineties when image was everything,
- 19:07Speaker 2: I thought Agassy Sampris was the rivalry of the nineties.
- 19:12Speaker 3: I'm going men's tennis, folks.
- 19:14Speaker 2: These guys played each other thirty four times in Grand
- 19:19Speaker 2: Slam tournaments, with the head to head Sampress winning twenty
- 19:23Speaker 2: to fourteen, and the two of them went back and forth.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Look in the nineties, Sampress was number one for two
- 19:29Speaker 2: hundred and eighty six weeks and Agassy was for one.
- 19:32Speaker 3: Hundred and one weeks. These were two legends and they
- 19:35Speaker 3: would always end.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Up playing each other. Now in the Grand Slam finals,
- 19:38Speaker 2: Sampress always had Agacy's name. I think acacidently beat Sampress once.
- 19:42Speaker 2: But when you talk about two different contrasting styles, Agassy.
- 19:45Speaker 3: Flash, long hair, the camera.
- 19:49Speaker 2: The nikes, Sampress a robot right out there, go in
- 19:52Speaker 2: there and take care of business. Two very different styles,
- 19:56Speaker 2: and they actually ended up being two great friends. I'm
- 19:58Speaker 2: gonna say Agassy Sampris for me one of my favorite rivalries.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Different styles, different dudess and yet Agassy was so fair.
