- 0:00But the first thing we want to look at is just overall, once again,
- 0:02the simple things. I like to keep things simple. Are the registers all opened?
- 0:07But not even just that. Are they adjusted properly? So all the way open isn't
- 0:11always the correct or the best option, right?
- 0:14Because those registers, that's why your suppliers have dampers on them.
- 0:18You can adjust them or returns don't. So we always want free return coming back.
- 0:22The supplies can be adjusted to regulate the final amount of airs coming into a room.
- 0:27Air is lazy. It's like a lot of us, right? A lot of people. It's lazy.
- 0:32It takes the path to least resistance.
- 0:34And so that air, as it goes down the duct stream, gets farther away from the furnace.
- 0:38It gets less and less and less. It's going to leave the first vents possible.
- 0:42Oftentimes you'll find registers dampened down a little bit more closer to the
- 0:45equipment and opened up a little bit more as they get farther away from the
- 0:48equipment to help keep the pressure up.
