- 0:10Speaker 2: Texas to eight one three zero, followed by your message.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Standard message and data rates may apply.
- 0:20Speaker 1: If you missed it. At the top end of the program,
- 0:25Speaker 1: Cameron Parker admitted he did watch the Dallas Cowboys yesterday,
- 0:28Speaker 1: or at least some of it. Anyway, the parts that
- 0:30Speaker 1: mattered most there in the fourth quarter. But how maud
- 0:34Speaker 1: he was that? I mean, even in the midst of
- 0:37Speaker 1: all of the madness and the Cavante turpin three sixty
- 0:41Speaker 1: what do you call that? Press the B button is
- 0:46Speaker 1: spin button and whatever? The return even that they showed
- 0:50Speaker 1: a shot of Jerry sitting up in the box and
- 0:52Speaker 1: he didn't look that excited. He's probably what a miss
- 0:58Speaker 1: this is? Realized?
- 1:00Speaker 2: Well, there goes there, Travis Hunter first round. So so anyway,
- 1:06Speaker 2: there was there.
- 1:07Speaker 1: There was that. But there were some crazy games you
- 1:10Speaker 1: pointed out in the NFL yesterday Bear's Vikings game where
- 1:12Speaker 1: you saw one of the real rarities in this modern
- 1:15Speaker 1: age of the onside kick. It an onside kick that
- 1:17Speaker 1: actually worked. It almost worked for the Rams against the
- 1:20Speaker 1: Eagles last night Dallas Goddard swatted it out of bounds
- 1:24Speaker 1: like a volleyball, so that they penalized him for that,
- 1:26Speaker 1: and they kicked it again and this time he fell
- 1:28Speaker 1: on it to do that. The Washington Dallas thing had
- 1:34Speaker 1: an on side kick returned for a touchdown right.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Well once and then I guess you had two, yeah,
- 1:40Speaker 2: because that wasn't an onside kick, right.
- 1:43Speaker 1: So yeah, you had a regular kick off and an
- 1:45Speaker 1: onside kick, so that that was nuts.
- 1:49Speaker 2: So he had a great day for Washington special teams.
- 1:51Speaker 1: You know, you know who had a good day yesterday?
- 1:56Speaker 2: Hm hmm, bo Nicks he did. And someone who's been
- 2:00Speaker 2: very anti boenickt That's why I brought it up. It's
- 2:03Speaker 2: kind of tough, and I've got it. I played him
- 2:05Speaker 2: yesterday instead of Matthew Stafford. Good for you, mainly because
- 2:08Speaker 2: he was going against the Raiders and the Rams were
- 2:10Speaker 2: going to get to the Eagles, So I mean didn't
- 2:12Speaker 2: take a lot of brain power to figure that one out.
- 2:14Speaker 2: He's been a fantastic fantasy quarterback. Yeah, I'll give him that.
- 2:16Speaker 1: He's been my number three because Lamar Jackson's number one
- 2:19Speaker 1: and I've had Stafford number two. Stafford's having a good year.
- 2:21Speaker 1: When the Rims you know, can actually stop somebody, then
- 2:25Speaker 1: gives him an opportuny. They couldn't stop the Eagles last night.
- 2:27Speaker 2: I think going into on Sunday, I believe he was
- 2:32Speaker 2: he was top ten in terms of points in all that. Yeah,
- 2:37Speaker 2: he was number seven, and then you factor in whatever,
- 2:40Speaker 2: how many points did he have. Let's see ESPN had
- 2:42Speaker 2: him at twenty two points yep, which is pretty good.
- 2:45Speaker 2: So he's over two hundred and sixty points this season.
- 2:47Speaker 2: That's pretty good. He's kind of in that same tier
- 2:49Speaker 2: with all the other guys. I mean, Lamar Jackson is
- 2:52Speaker 2: in his own tier and he can add to that tonight.
- 2:54Speaker 2: But yeah, I mean you got to give credit to
- 2:57Speaker 2: what Sean Payton and the Broncos are in this season.
- 3:01Speaker 1: They would be in the playoffs now if the playoffs begin,
- 3:04Speaker 1: and I think they will be right, they got a
- 3:06Speaker 1: good shot at it. I think so. And the Chargers too.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Now in the Hardball Bowl tonight, the Chargers play the Ravens,
- 3:14Speaker 1: and the Ravens have to keep their front on the gas,
- 3:16Speaker 1: especially with the Steelers losing to the Browns the other
- 3:18Speaker 1: night and that blizzard in Cleveland's chance for the Ravens
- 3:22Speaker 1: to draw closer again, and then in the NFC the
- 3:27Speaker 1: Lions continue to roll, the Vikings and Backers continue to roll. Clearly,
- 3:34Speaker 1: it's the best division, if not at all, of pro football. Definitely,
- 3:38Speaker 1: the best division in the NFC is the NFC North.
- 3:42Speaker 1: I mean, even the Bears, you know, we're kind of
- 3:45Speaker 1: hanging around a little bit now, they're kind of falling off.
- 3:47Speaker 1: And the worst division is clearly the NFC West, the
- 3:49Speaker 1: NFC worst, as I call it, I don't know, Okay,
- 3:53Speaker 1: you got the Cardinals at six and five and the
- 3:56Speaker 1: Seahawks at six and five tied for the division lead
- 4:00Speaker 1: at six wins five losses by one game of the
- 4:04Speaker 1: five and six forty nine Ers in the five and
- 4:05Speaker 1: six Rams, mediocrity thy name is the NFC West. But
- 4:11Speaker 1: all I think.
- 4:11Speaker 2: All four teams you could argue as okay, their playoff
- 4:15Speaker 2: teams in the NFC South. I think the Falcons are
- 4:19Speaker 2: on the same level as the Rams and the forty
- 4:21Speaker 2: nine ers in terms of how good they are. So sure,
- 4:24Speaker 2: if you want, like, hey, yeah, the winner is going
- 4:26Speaker 2: to probably have the worst record, maybe depending on Atlanta,
- 4:29Speaker 2: But I don't know, I think all four of those
- 4:31Speaker 2: teams in the NFC West are better than all four
- 4:33Speaker 2: teams in the South and the NFC East.
- 4:35Speaker 1: He's got Tampa Bay also in the South. Five and six.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Well that's what I can say about the Rams in
- 4:41Speaker 1: the forty nine Ers, eh, okay, five and six during
- 4:45Speaker 1: the playoffs? Are you more afraid of Baker Mayfield? Or
- 4:48Speaker 1: are you more afraid of a Rams team that has
- 4:50Speaker 1: won the Super Bowl or a forty nine Ers team
- 4:53Speaker 1: that has been to the Super Bowl twice? What a
- 4:55Speaker 1: mess they looked like yesterday? Well, I mean, who's their quarterback?
- 4:58Speaker 1: Yeah right, Dighton Allen? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I knew the
- 5:01Speaker 1: forty nine Ers were doomed yesterday because Brandon Allen was
- 5:05Speaker 1: wearing Steve de Berg's old number seventeen. Look it up,
- 5:09Speaker 1: Google it as a Kurt Signetti, the Indiana coach, says,
- 5:12Speaker 1: I feel like Brandon, what's his name, Brandon Allen? He
- 5:15Speaker 1: was like an All State quarterback at like I don't know,
- 5:18Speaker 1: Wake o'connelly or something. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean, so
- 5:20Speaker 1: you're gonna you know him and guys like him and
- 5:25Speaker 1: Gardner Minshew Gardner Minshew I think has set a record
- 5:29Speaker 1: in my fantasy league, but for being most most player
- 5:32Speaker 1: picked up and dropped people said, just passing him around,
- 5:36Speaker 1: except me, I wouldn't go in there. But yeah, you
- 5:39Speaker 1: know what. Yeah, So anyway, I think the NFC, there's
- 5:45Speaker 1: a decent chance the NFC West champion could be nine
- 5:48Speaker 1: and eight. The fact that there's a real good chance
- 5:50Speaker 1: it could be nine and eight. Ten and seven right
- 5:52Speaker 1: now would win that division. Nine and eight, good chance
- 5:56Speaker 1: it could win the division eight nine is not out
- 5:59Speaker 1: of the realm of possibility, even in that division. So
- 6:03Speaker 1: it's a mess.
- 6:03Speaker 2: I heard some discussion today about could the Cowboys get
- 6:07Speaker 2: in Let's stop, guys, let's go ahead them to stop the.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Conversation, just stop Which wild Cards? Are they gonna jump
- 6:14Speaker 1: by past? Are they gonna jump past Washington again? They
- 6:17Speaker 1: gotta play them again? But there's still what three games
- 6:19Speaker 1: back of the Commanders? Okay, uh, that's an East. Okay,
- 6:25Speaker 1: so you're gonna jump past both both the Vikings and
- 6:27Speaker 1: the Packers. If we're to assume that the Lion's winning
- 6:32Speaker 1: the NFC North. Are they gonna jump past the Falcons
- 6:37Speaker 1: who own the tie breaker on them? Are they gonna
- 6:41Speaker 1: jump past the Bucks? Are they gonna jump past the
- 6:45Speaker 1: forty nine ers who owned the tie breaker on them?
- 6:48Speaker 1: That's six teams right there, and not even including the
- 6:53Speaker 1: teams that are gonna win the divisions. So stop, just stop.
- 6:57Speaker 1: You sound more down on them than me. Well, I'm
- 7:00Speaker 1: I'm just laying out the reality, just like I'm laying
- 7:02Speaker 1: out the reality for the Rams. The only way the
- 7:05Speaker 1: Rams are gonna get in the playoffs is to win
- 7:06Speaker 1: that that for COCTA Division. That's the only way they're
- 7:10Speaker 1: getting five and six, you know. Now, And they still
- 7:14Speaker 1: have to play Buffalo. Now. They got the Jets, and
- 7:18Speaker 1: they have return engagements with the forty nine ers, the
- 7:22Speaker 1: Seahawks and the Cardinals, all of whom they could beat,
- 7:26Speaker 1: probably won't, but at least they have a pathway. I
- 7:31Speaker 1: see no pathway for the Cowboys to make the playoffs,
- 7:33Speaker 1: do you No?
- 7:35Speaker 2: It's now with all these injuries here. I mean, if
- 7:38Speaker 2: you look at this game, Craig.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Now, all the losses, they get, seven losses.
- 7:42Speaker 2: It's a fun victory, but it's one of those games.
- 7:44Speaker 2: Ok you had two special teams touchdowns, which is always
- 7:48Speaker 2: you know, kind of a sign of like, okay, you
- 7:50Speaker 2: probably could have lost this game. You mentioned you guys,
- 7:52Speaker 2: what uh Shankfield Gold two missed extra points? Yeah, one
- 7:56Speaker 2: that would have send it the overtime, Ye didn't Cyber
- 8:00Speaker 2: also shank of field gold. Yeah, so there's there's three
- 8:04Speaker 2: plays right there now. Of course, Washington has not been
- 8:07Speaker 2: the same team since the Jayden Daniels injury. But if
- 8:11Speaker 2: you play this game ten times, Washington probably wins it eight.
- 8:15Speaker 2: And this happened to be one of the two times
- 8:17Speaker 2: the Cowboys went.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Yeah. A couple of things on the text line. Somebody
- 8:21Speaker 1: said as Seapower, he said, listening to SEC talk, you
- 8:24Speaker 1: think UT fans get irate. Alabama fans are going crazy,
- 8:28Speaker 1: poor things. I bet they are. I bet they're pretty
- 8:31Speaker 1: upset there. And then somebody else said, Louisiana high school
- 8:35Speaker 1: football overtime was decided on penetrations. That's what they had
- 8:38Speaker 1: in Texas through nineteen ninety five, three levels of tie
- 8:42Speaker 1: break twenty yard line penetrations. If your team got inside
- 8:46Speaker 1: the other team's twenty yard line, it was supposed to
- 8:49Speaker 1: be emblematic of how they had had the more control
- 8:52Speaker 1: of the game. If that was tied, the next thing
- 8:55Speaker 1: they went to was first downs. I did a playoff
- 9:00Speaker 1: game at Texas Stadium in nineteen eighty seven between Odessa
- 9:02Speaker 1: Permian and Arlington High and it went to the second
- 9:05Speaker 1: tiebreak total first downs. You couldn't do that now, no
- 9:10Speaker 1: third tiebreak. Total yardage was what they had, So they
- 9:14Speaker 1: had those tie breaks. I did a game. Somebody asked me,
- 9:17Speaker 1: have you ever called a game on Thanksgiving Night other
- 9:19Speaker 1: than Texas, Texas A and M, And the answers, Yes,
- 9:21Speaker 1: I've done several high school playoff games on Thanksgiving Night,
- 9:25Speaker 1: including one in nineteen eighty three between number one and
- 9:29Speaker 1: number two in the state and two A. It was
- 9:30Speaker 1: Boyd and Pilot Point. Boyd had Billy Joe Tolliver quarterback,
- 9:33Speaker 1: went on the play at Texas tacket and in the NFL,
- 9:36Speaker 1: and the game tied thirteen thirteen. Each team missed an
- 9:40Speaker 1: extra point, the deciding thing in those days. Pilot Point
- 9:45Speaker 1: fumbled on their own twenty one yard line late in
- 9:47Speaker 1: the third quarter. Boyd recovered, advanced to about the thirteen
- 9:51Speaker 1: yard line, turned it over on downs. That was the
- 9:54Speaker 1: difference of the ball game. That was the third penetration
- 9:56Speaker 1: inside the twenty. So it's happened. It's happened. Fortunately they
- 10:01Speaker 1: got away from that tie break. We'll be back to
- 10:03Speaker 1: wrap up our number two on sport Radio AM thirteen
- 10:05Speaker 1: hundred
