- 0:00Speaker 1: This is Kiss Breakfast.
- 0:02Speaker 2: All right, here's Nat with a hit of celeb news.
- 0:04Speaker 2: What's going on?
- 0:05Speaker 3: So Kevin Parker is an Aussie musician. You probably know
- 0:08Speaker 3: him better as Tame Impala.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Yep.
- 0:10Speaker 3: So Tame Impala is just one guy, by the way.
- 0:13Speaker 3: Everyone thinks it's a band. It's literally just his solo
- 0:15Speaker 3: project name.
- 0:16Speaker 2: I didn't know that.
- 0:17Speaker 3: So Kevin Parker has taken to his Instagram and explained
- 0:21Speaker 3: that he's not going to be signing any autographs anymore.
- 0:23Speaker 3: And the reason is because there's these aggressive souvenir hounds
- 0:27Speaker 3: who get people to sign things, And then they try
- 0:30Speaker 3: and sell them, obviously. But they've gotten so bad that
- 0:33Speaker 3: they've started using kids as like a guilt trip for
- 0:36Speaker 3: these artists to go over and like actually sign whatever
- 0:39Speaker 3: item they've got. So he said, I won't be signing
- 0:41Speaker 3: anything or doing the photos out the front of hotels
- 0:43Speaker 3: or at airports at all anymore. So if you happen
- 0:45Speaker 3: to catch me, please don't be offended if I say no.
- 0:48Speaker 3: He said, I wasn't that passionate about it before, but
- 0:51Speaker 3: they've started using kids, which I think is all kinds
- 0:54Speaker 3: of wrong.
- 0:55Speaker 4: Yeah, fair enough, because I didn't realise people still ask
- 0:57Speaker 4: for autographs, but you're saying it's because they then go.
- 0:59Speaker 2: And sell it on eBay.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Yes, and I know that a celebrity will never sign
- 1:03Speaker 3: an autograph using a blue Sharpie, and the reason is
- 1:06Speaker 3: because that's easier to copy.
- 1:07Speaker 1: There's something to do with a blue Sharpie. Really? If
- 1:10Speaker 1: you see them holding out a blue Sharpie, they'll go, no,
- 1:13Speaker 1: not signing.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Isn't that interesting? So the blue is easier to fake?
- 1:16Speaker 3: Something about the blue is easier to duplicate and fake
- 1:19Speaker 3: or whatever it is.
- 1:19Speaker 4: Well, that's fair enough, and don't use bloody kids to
- 1:21Speaker 4: try and make money on it.
- 1:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I just think, yeah, like what he said, that's wrong.
- 1:26Speaker 3: The fact that you're bringing your kids down. It's like
- 1:28Speaker 3: when you go to like the Southeast Asian countries and
- 1:31Speaker 3: they have the kids coming up to you on the
- 1:32Speaker 3: beach trying.
- 1:33Speaker 1: To get you to buy their little things. You feel awful.
- 1:36Speaker 2: I know.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Like in countries like that, you know, you give them.
- 1:39Speaker 2: A bit of money.
- 1:39Speaker 4: Well, I've heard not to do it, right, because what
- 1:41Speaker 4: you're doing is encouraging the parents to keep.
- 1:43Speaker 2: The kids out of school. They're going to do it anyway.
- 1:44Speaker 1: They're going to do it anyway.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:46Speaker 1: You know, particularly in Bali and places like that. They're
- 1:48Speaker 1: going to do it anyway.
- 1:49Speaker 2: You feel bad, aren't you?
- 1:50Speaker 3: Also, Christian McCaffrey, he's an NFL player. He's the running
- 1:53Speaker 3: back for the San Francisco 49ers. Now, they've been here
- 1:56Speaker 3: for about a week because they've got that NFL game
- 1:58Speaker 3: being played at the MCG tomorrow against the Los Angeles Rams. Now,
- 2:02Speaker 3: the Rams only flew in yesterday, but like I said,
- 2:05Speaker 3: the 49ers have been here since last weekend. So they've
- 2:08Speaker 3: had a bit of time to explore Melbourne and see
- 2:10Speaker 3: what Australia's got to offer. And this guy, Christian, said
- 2:13Speaker 3: that there's one thing that he wished people told him
- 2:15Speaker 3: about sooner when it comes to Australia because it is
- 2:18Speaker 3: so good.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Take a listen.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Oh, it's been great. Yeah, the coffee's unbelievable.
- 2:23Speaker 4: I don't know why nobody talked about that as much
- 2:26Speaker 4: as they should have beforehand.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Coffee's been great. Food's awesome. The people are really nice.
- 2:33Speaker 5: I will say, I think it's because the coffee in
- 2:35Speaker 5: America is so shit.
- 2:37Speaker 1: It's just like black coffee in America. What do they
- 2:39Speaker 1: call it? The drip coffee or whatever? Yeah, like percolated coffee.
- 2:42Speaker 1: I like a percolated coffee. I remember when I was
- 2:45Speaker 1: in L.A. and all I wanted was like an almond latte.
- 2:47Speaker 1: That's my coffee order.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Can't get it.
- 2:49Speaker 1: You just can't get it anywhere.
- 2:50Speaker 5: Yeah. I will say, and like even the U.K., I've
- 2:54Speaker 5: just come back from Italy.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Well, their coffee would be good.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Their coffee was like, there was some that were good.
- 2:58Speaker 1: They were a bit hit and miss. The coffee in
- 3:01Speaker 1: Australia is sensational.
- 3:02Speaker 2: I wonder why we got it so right.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Big drinking coffee culture in Australia.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Yeah. But, like, it is.
- 3:10Speaker 1: We have absolutely nailed it.
- 3:11Speaker 5: I'll tell you where the other really fantastic coffee place is.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Vietnam.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Oh, I've had it there too.
- 3:17Speaker 5: Oh, like the salted almond coffees. You can get like
- 3:21Speaker 5: coconut coffees.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Is it because they do the fancy coffee? They use
- 3:25Speaker 1: condensed milk in some of them.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Oh, so good.
- 3:27Speaker 1: And they are so delicious.
- 3:29Speaker 4: They got the French inspiration because the French were there
- 3:31Speaker 4: for a long time. So it's like a mix of
- 3:33Speaker 4: the French and the Southeast Asian. But yeah, like when
- 3:35Speaker 4: it's hot there, I've been there, you get... And iced coffee.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Yeah. It's an iced coffee in summer in general, by
- 3:40Speaker 1: the way.
- 3:41Speaker 2: And condensed milk in it like yourself.
- 3:43Speaker 1: It's like a meal. They're like meals. Wait, is it
- 3:45Speaker 1: condensed milk? It's the thickened milk, right? And it's so sweet.
- 3:49Speaker 2: No, no, no.
- 3:49Speaker 1: You would absolutely love it. I felt the same thing.
- 3:52Speaker 1: That's like a smoothie then.
- 3:53Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Nah, it's so good.
- 3:54Speaker 4: It's good, isn't it?
- 3:55Speaker 1: I'm having one every day.
- 3:57Speaker 3: But what's wrong with just a good old plain cappuccino? Oh.
- 4:00Speaker 2: We don't need to add.
- 4:01Speaker 3: You know in America, they're like, can I have a
- 4:03Speaker 3: large macaccino with some.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Like, why do they do that? That's why they're all fast.
- 4:06Speaker 3: You don't like coffee if you have to have sugar
- 4:09Speaker 3: and caramel and all that in it. If you can't
- 4:11Speaker 3: drink a long black or a short black or an
- 4:13Speaker 3: espresso shot.
- 4:14Speaker 1: You don't like coffee.
- 4:15Speaker 2: I need one sugar in my coffee.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Just one.
- 4:18Speaker 2: I have a cappuccino with one sugar.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Yeah. What kind of milk? Full cream?
- 4:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll go full cream. Yeah, I don't want any
- 4:23Speaker 2: of that.
- 4:23Speaker 1: What are you, Amy?
- 4:24Speaker 2: What's your coffee order?
- 4:25Speaker 1: I love milk, yeah. Why? Are you farty with.
- 4:28Speaker 3: Excuse me, I'm an invasive question.
- 4:31Speaker 1: You get farty. No, no, no. I used to have
- 4:33Speaker 1: skim milk. Full cream milk makes my tummy a little
- 4:35Speaker 1: bit upset. Yeah, I'm a skim milk for that reason.
- 4:38Speaker 1: I like almond. I actually like the nutty taste.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Of the almond?
- 4:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll do almond milk or oat.
- 4:44Speaker 2: How do they milk the almonds?
- 4:46Speaker 1: Well, with their little titties.
- 4:47Speaker 3: No.
