- 0:41Speaker 1: Welcome back to another episode of the His Hot radio
- 0:45Speaker 1: podcast where we're walking verse by verse through Stevens I
- 0:51Speaker 1: mean Stephen sermon in Acts chapter seven. You know, I
- 0:56Speaker 1: just realized I've been saying his name wrong the whole time.
- 0:59Speaker 1: It's Acts chapter seven, one of the boldest most spirit
- 1:05Speaker 1: filled messages ever preached. Stephan is no longer just recounting
- 1:12Speaker 1: history at this point. Now he's confronting the heart condition
- 1:17Speaker 1: of the nation of Israel. So we're gonna get into it.
- 1:21Speaker 1: This is gonna be great. We're picking up in Acts
- 1:24Speaker 1: chapter seven, verse thirty nine, where Stephan exposes what happens
- 1:30Speaker 1: when God's people are delivered outwardly but never transformed inwardly.
- 1:37Speaker 1: This is gonna be good. There's gonna be a little
- 1:40Speaker 1: bit of conviction, but you know that is a good
- 1:43Speaker 1: thing because the Word of God is sharp, it's living,
- 1:49Speaker 1: and it's like a two edged sword, sharper than a
- 1:52Speaker 1: two edged sword. Amen. So we're gonna dive into it.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Make sure you grab your bibles, your highlighters, in your
- 1:58Speaker 1: notepads as we follow along together. And also we want
- 2:03Speaker 1: you to get more out of this podcast by joining

- 2:14Speaker 1: our soul. So we're gonna handle the Word of God together.
- 2:17Speaker 1: We're gonna digest it, we're gonna chew on it, we're
- 2:21Speaker 1: going to ponder it, we're gonna think about it. And
- 2:24Speaker 1: so in the life chat is a place where you
- 2:26Speaker 1: can ask questions, where we can interact with each other,

- 3:51Speaker 1: a pillar on this podcast, and one of the original
- 3:54Speaker 1: artists from his Hot Nation. Also shout out to our
- 3:59Speaker 1: sister Quincy and everybody else who's been popping in Misses
- 4:04Speaker 1: his hop and all that good stuff. And if you
- 4:07Speaker 1: are listening and you have logged in but haven't said nothing,
- 4:11Speaker 1: we want you to say hi. You know what I mean,
- 4:13Speaker 1: Just say what's up and get some love flowing through
- 4:18Speaker 1: this community. All right, With that being said, let's go
- 4:22Speaker 1: ahead and go before Father and prayer. All but Father,
- 4:25Speaker 1: we thank you, Father, God for another day. Lord, You've
- 4:28Speaker 1: allowed us to wake up and open up our eyes.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Let today be a day of pursuit. Lord, Let us
- 4:34Speaker 1: seek you today. God, Let today be a day of
- 4:37Speaker 1: knowledge and understanding the ram, a word and revelation of God,
- 4:41Speaker 1: O Lord, that will help us draw closer to you,
- 4:44Speaker 1: bring us to victory, deliverance and freedom of God. Expose
- 4:48Speaker 1: another lie of the enemy, Father God, and we ask
- 4:51Speaker 1: Father God for victory. And Father, we want you to
- 4:54Speaker 1: draw all men, Holy Spirit, draw people to this podcast,
- 4:59Speaker 1: draw the to Christ Jesus so that they can be saved.
- 5:04Speaker 1: He'll delivered and set free, O God for all eternity.
- 5:08Speaker 1: And we asked this in Jesus' name. Ay man, All right, well,
- 5:17Speaker 1: we're gonna go ahead and dive into it now, has
- 5:19Speaker 1: Us said in the opening. This is Stephan's defense. Stephan
- 5:24Speaker 1: is considered the first martyr in the New Testament. In
- 5:29Speaker 1: the word martyr is translated to witness in English. And
- 5:34Speaker 1: Jesus commanded that we would all be witnesses for him
- 5:39Speaker 1: throughout the whole world, even if that means laying down
- 5:43Speaker 1: our lives for him. Amen. And our brothers and sisters
- 5:46Speaker 1: are doing this already all over the world. So the
- 5:52Speaker 1: Church in America, we have to hit the gym, you
- 5:55Speaker 1: know what I mean. We got to get our weight
- 5:57Speaker 1: up so that we can truly this mandate and this
- 6:01Speaker 1: calling but we do have the grace of God to
- 6:03Speaker 1: help us, say man, Hallelujah. So as his defense, they
- 6:10Speaker 1: accused him of violating the law of Moses. They've accused
- 6:14Speaker 1: him of trying to destroy, conspiring with Jesus himself to
- 6:21Speaker 1: destroy the temple. And so this is where you see
- 6:24Speaker 1: his defenses. And he just he's on Moses. Now he's
- 6:29Speaker 1: speaking on Moses. And now he's looking at their heart
- 6:34Speaker 1: condition how Moses was chosen by God to lead them,
- 6:39Speaker 1: and how Israel has a pattern of rejecting the godly
- 6:43Speaker 1: leaders and the people that God has chosen to deliver
- 6:47Speaker 1: the nation. Amen. And so he's going down through the
- 6:51Speaker 1: history and now he's getting ready to expose the heart.
- 6:56Speaker 1: So let's pay clear attention as we pick it up
- 7:03Speaker 1: from verse thirty nine, and it says to whom our
- 7:06Speaker 1: fathers Once again, he's talking about Moses, to whom our
- 7:10Speaker 1: fathers would not obey, but thrust him from them. Now
- 7:19Speaker 1: I pay attention to that this was a thrust. They
- 7:23Speaker 1: thrust him from them. They thrust to Moses, and in
- 7:27Speaker 1: their hearts turned back again to Egypt, unto Egypt. Right,
- 7:34Speaker 1: So in their hearts, now, who my fathers would not obey,
- 7:37Speaker 1: but reject it, and in their hearts they turned back
- 7:41Speaker 1: to Egypt. Now, let's take a look at this. Rebellion
- 7:47Speaker 1: always begins in the heart before it even shows up
- 7:52Speaker 1: in action, right That's where everything originates, That's where everything starts.
- 7:58Speaker 1: That's why the Bible tells us to guard our hearts
- 8:02Speaker 1: from out of it are the issues of life. Why
- 8:04Speaker 1: do you see these teenagers run away from home? Why
- 8:10Speaker 1: do you see these teenagers fall into in more relationships?
- 8:14Speaker 1: Why do you see these teenagers act out the way
- 8:18Speaker 1: that they do is because they've allowed something to enter
- 8:22Speaker 1: into their hearts that they can't even handle. They should
- 8:28Speaker 1: not have allowed this spirit of rebellion in defiance. Right now,
- 8:40Speaker 1: the Israel physically left Egypt. Egypt never left their hearts. God,
- 8:47Speaker 1: our hearts beloved for out of it are the issues
- 8:49Speaker 1: of life. Now, this is dangerous. You could be saved
- 8:53Speaker 1: and delivered and still mentally live in bondage. I do
- 9:00Speaker 1: recommend this book, I've went through it myself, The Battlefield
- 9:04Speaker 1: of the Mind by Joyce Myers. It's a classic. It's
- 9:07Speaker 1: a great book worth your while to read it because
- 9:11Speaker 1: we got to get the victory won. Our mind is
- 9:14Speaker 1: so important don't neglect your mind. Don't neglect, don't allow
- 9:19Speaker 1: your mind just to wander anywhere it wants to amen
- 9:25Speaker 1: And this is how we guard our hearts. But Egypt
- 9:31Speaker 1: never left the hearts. Now, Egypt represents slavery, It represents
- 9:39Speaker 1: our old identity. And believe it or not, people can
- 9:46Speaker 1: find comfort even in our chains of bondage. You know,
- 9:51Speaker 1: we can even think of the United States of America
- 9:56Speaker 1: in our history with slavery. And even when the war
- 10:00Speaker 1: was won and many slaves are set free, some slaves
- 10:04Speaker 1: chose to remain in bondage. They chose to remain because
- 10:07Speaker 1: they didn't know nothing else. They found comfort in that. Now,
- 10:13Speaker 1: the Greek word for rejected. Now, remember we read in
- 10:18Speaker 1: the texts New King James. They thrusted him, They thrusted
- 10:22Speaker 1: Moses away from them. Right, So the Greek word is
- 10:27Speaker 1: apo th eo, apotheo, apotheo. Hopefully that's the pronunciation. It
- 10:36Speaker 1: means to push away deliberately. Let me say that again.
- 10:40Speaker 1: This word means to push away deliberately. They didn't stumble
- 10:45Speaker 1: into this rebellion. They chose rebellion. It was a deliberate
- 10:51Speaker 1: act of rebellion. It's like they looked at Moses, they
- 10:56Speaker 1: looked at what he had to offer, and they just
- 10:58Speaker 1: pushed them over a cliff and said, you know what,
- 11:01Speaker 1: I want to go back to bondage. I want to
- 11:05Speaker 1: go back to Egypt. Man, the human heart can be tricky,
- 11:11Speaker 1: all right, Verse forty, saying us to Aaron, make us
- 11:15Speaker 1: God to go before us. For as for this Moses,
- 11:20Speaker 1: which brought us out of the land of Egypt, we
- 11:24Speaker 1: want not what is become of him. And man, now,
- 11:32Speaker 1: how many of us know the flesh is quick to
- 11:34Speaker 1: make excuses, right, we can justify our rebellion in our
- 11:42Speaker 1: sin now saying to Aaron, make us God to go
- 11:47Speaker 1: before us. As for this Moses who brought us out
- 11:52Speaker 1: of the land of Egypt, we do not know what
- 11:55Speaker 1: has become of him now now and patience led Israel
- 12:04Speaker 1: back into idolatry when people stop trusting God's timing. And
- 12:11Speaker 1: this is something hard to do. Right in our flesh,
- 12:15Speaker 1: it's hard to do. We can manu factor substitutes. And
- 12:23Speaker 1: I've done this. I'm guilty. I'm convicted. I'm convicted because
- 12:28Speaker 1: of my impatience. And I just did this just recently.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Instead of waiting on God, I came up with my
- 12:37Speaker 1: own solution to a situation where I should have just
- 12:42Speaker 1: waited and allowed God to work in it through it.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Inform you right now when leaders disappear, right when we're
- 12:52Speaker 1: not in front of our pastors or our group leaders,
- 12:55Speaker 1: our Bible study leaders, or whatever, when they disappeared, like Moses,
- 13:00Speaker 1: character is revealed, you are who you are behind closed doors. Right.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Instead of waiting on God, they asked for visible gods.
- 13:13Speaker 1: They wanted a God that they could see. The flesh
- 13:18Speaker 1: hates faith. Let me say that again. Our flesh hates faith.
- 13:25Speaker 1: Faith requires waiting. Idols gives us instant gratification. Let me
- 13:31Speaker 1: say that again. Faith requires waiting. Amen. Sometimes I tell
- 13:39Speaker 1: my artists and who are involved in His omnation to wait.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Sometimes You're gonna be serving, probably for a year or
- 13:48Speaker 1: so before I even put you on the platform, before
- 13:52Speaker 1: we record music or get you to you know, to
- 13:56Speaker 1: headline or show or anything like that, is because we
- 13:59Speaker 1: gotta I got to see your character. Are you impatient
- 14:03Speaker 1: or are you willing to wait and wait on God? Amen?
- 14:10Speaker 1: The Bible tells us to pick up our cross daily,
- 14:14Speaker 1: to crucify our flesh for a reason, and to wait
- 14:19Speaker 1: on God. Hallelujah for you one. And they made a
- 14:23Speaker 1: calf in those days and offered sacrifice unto the idol,
- 14:30Speaker 1: and rejoiced in the works of their own hands. Man,
- 14:35Speaker 1: how many of us are so guilty of this. I'm guilty.
- 14:40Speaker 1: I need to repent again, rejoicing the work in our
- 14:44Speaker 1: own hands. You see, worship shifted from the creator to
- 14:51Speaker 1: the creation. Our hearts are so wicked. Father, forgive us,
- 14:56Speaker 1: forgive us for worshiping the works of our own hands.
- 15:01Speaker 1: If I'm not quit careful, I can worship his hot nation.
- 15:05Speaker 1: And I've done it. I've put his hot nation before
- 15:08Speaker 1: my walk with God. You know, I've shared my testimony
- 15:12Speaker 1: even in my marriage and a lot of other things.
- 15:16Speaker 1: You know, I've spent a lot of time, and I've
- 15:18Speaker 1: gotten a lot better, beloved, But I used to spend
- 15:21Speaker 1: all my time with his hot especially when I had
- 15:26Speaker 1: the physical building right, leaning to my own understanding and
- 15:31Speaker 1: doing my own works. That God convicted me, and now
- 15:39Speaker 1: we have to be led by the spirit. Amen. Thank
- 15:45Speaker 1: you Lord for this message. Shake, Thank you for your word,
- 15:48Speaker 1: Oh God. Ask God, I pray I repent right now.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Forgive me, Lord, oh God, for rejoicing in the works
- 15:56Speaker 1: of my own hands. Oh God, let us be of
- 15:58Speaker 1: people that rejoice in the world works of the Holy Spirit.
- 16:01Speaker 1: In the Holy Spirit alone. Hallelujah, Oh God, we apply
- 16:06Speaker 1: the blood of Jesus. Thank you Father, I mean man, hey,
- 16:09Speaker 1: I get minister too when we go through the word
- 16:13Speaker 1: of God. It's how it works, right two edgy sword.
- 16:18Speaker 1: All right, Now, this is the core of a dollar tree,
- 16:22Speaker 1: celebrating where your hands produce instead of what God has provided. Right,
- 16:28Speaker 1: you need to rejoice in the provision of our heavenly Father.
- 16:34Speaker 1: The Hebrew idea here mirrors Romans one. They worship the gift,
- 16:42Speaker 1: not the gift giver. Amen. Romans breaks it down as well.
- 16:52Speaker 1: All right, let's hit verse forty two. Then God turned
- 16:59Speaker 1: and gave them up to worship the Host of Heaven,
- 17:05Speaker 1: as it is written in the book of the Prophets. Oh, ye,
- 17:08Speaker 1: house of Israel, have ye offered to me slain beast
- 17:15Speaker 1: and sacrifices by the space of forty years in the wilderness. Amen.
- 17:24Speaker 1: Then God turned them and gave them up to worship
- 17:28Speaker 1: the Host of Heaven, as it is written of the Prophets. Now,
- 17:34Speaker 1: when God gives up, not because he stopped loving him.
- 17:40Speaker 1: He still loves the nation of Israel. But because he
- 17:44Speaker 1: honored their choices. You know, God is not going to
- 17:48Speaker 1: force us to worship him. God gives us free will.
- 17:56Speaker 1: He gives us the ability to make our own decisions,
- 17:59Speaker 1: and he respects every choice that we make. You need
- 18:05Speaker 1: to be careful and not to be led by our hearts. Amen.
- 18:11Speaker 1: And it's a terrifying thing. This is, you can say, terrifying.
- 18:18Speaker 1: Grace right, God will let you have what you insist on.
- 18:24Speaker 1: If you insist on it, God will let you have
- 18:28Speaker 1: it when God removes his restraint. Judgment isn't always lightning.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Let me say that again. God's judgment is not like
- 18:47Speaker 1: a lightning bolt coming out of the sky. Sometimes God's
- 18:54Speaker 1: judgment is permission when he gets you to the permission
- 18:58Speaker 1: to have what you want and what you insist on.
- 19:01Speaker 1: The last thing you want is a God to give
- 19:06Speaker 1: you what you think you want. Me, man, maybe for
- 19:11Speaker 1: some of us it's a wake up call, but a
- 19:13Speaker 1: lot of people don't make it back from there, So
- 19:18Speaker 1: don't play Russian roulette. Verse forty three. Yay, he took
- 19:25Speaker 1: up the tabernacle of Moloch and the star of your
- 19:32Speaker 1: God Rantham figures which he made to worship them, and
- 19:39Speaker 1: I will carry you away beyond Babylon. Now. He also
- 19:48Speaker 1: took up the tabernacle of Moloch and the star of
- 19:52Speaker 1: your God Remith fam Rampan. I don't know y'all could
- 20:00Speaker 1: play with that. I would carry you beyond Babylon. Now,
- 20:05Speaker 1: this is spiritual idolatry. Israel tried to mix Yahweh worship
- 20:11Speaker 1: with pagan practices. We can see that happening today in
- 20:16Speaker 1: the church. Right. We all know that Christian not Christmas.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Christmas is a pagan holiday. We know all of this.
- 20:26Speaker 1: That's another topic for another day. But you can't serve
- 20:30Speaker 1: God and idols. At the same time, Molac worshiped involved
- 20:35Speaker 1: child sacrifice, and he said that again moloch worship involved abortion.
- 20:47Speaker 1: It shows how far people fall when they abandon truth.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Compromise always costs more than you expected to cost. Let
- 21:00Speaker 1: me say that again. Compromise will always cost more than
- 21:04Speaker 1: what you're willing to pay, and sin will always take
- 21:08Speaker 1: you further than you're willing to go. Forty four, our
- 21:15Speaker 1: fathers had the Tabernacle of Witness in the wilderness, as
- 21:20Speaker 1: he had appointed, speaking unto Moses that he should make
- 21:26Speaker 1: it accordingly to the fashion that he had seen a man.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Our fathers had the Tabernacle of witness in the wilderness
- 21:38Speaker 1: right now. The tabernacle was God's design. It was portable, holy,
- 21:46Speaker 1: and centered on his very own presence. Now God met
- 21:54Speaker 1: them on the move. This proves God was never confined
- 22:02Speaker 1: to a building. Right His presence goes with obedient people,
- 22:08Speaker 1: not religious structures. Is not the church building where we
- 22:14Speaker 1: find God. We find God moving in the midst of
- 22:20Speaker 1: obedient people. That's where He loves to dwell. Amen forty five,
- 22:27Speaker 1: which also our fathers that came after brought in with
- 22:32Speaker 1: Jesus unto the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drove
- 22:38Speaker 1: out before the face of our fathers, unto the days
- 22:43Speaker 1: of David, which our fathers brought in, which Joshua unto
- 22:48Speaker 1: the land. I mean brought in with Joshua into the land. Right.
- 22:55Speaker 1: God's faithfulness crosses generations right here. Didn't invent anything new.
- 23:06Speaker 1: He stewarded what God already gave. Amen. Faithfulness is carrying
- 23:13Speaker 1: the presence of God into the next generation. All we
- 23:18Speaker 1: have to do is carry it. We don't have to
- 23:20Speaker 1: invent reinvent the will, just be faithful to what God
- 23:25Speaker 1: has already done. Amen. Forty six. Who found favor before
- 23:32Speaker 1: God and desire to find a tabernacle for the God
- 23:39Speaker 1: of Jacob. Who found favor before God and asked to
- 23:45Speaker 1: find a dwelling for the God of Jacob. Amen. Now
- 23:52Speaker 1: David desired to build God a house. Let me say
- 23:58Speaker 1: this again, Amen, David here, hold on what verse were
- 24:09Speaker 1: we on? Verse forty six? Amen? And lost my place? Okay?
- 24:16Speaker 1: Who found favor before God and asked to find a
- 24:20Speaker 1: dwelling for the God of Jacob. Amen. Yes, I was
- 24:26Speaker 1: saying that David desired to build a house. But God
- 24:29Speaker 1: had a greater plan than that for David. You see,
- 24:34Speaker 1: David's heart was right before God. But God's purpose was
- 24:39Speaker 1: bigger than just building a house. God's good intention, not God's.
- 24:47Speaker 1: But good intentions must still submit to God's will. Even
- 24:52Speaker 1: though you might mean well, even though you might have
- 24:56Speaker 1: good intentions, your good intentions, still our good intentions still
- 25:03Speaker 1: have to submit to the will of our God. Forty seven.
- 25:12Speaker 1: But Solomon built him the house. Now this is something
- 25:16Speaker 1: that Solomon was anointed to do. The temple was glorious,
- 25:22Speaker 1: but never meant to replace relationship. God wants relationship above
- 25:30Speaker 1: everything else. Buildings don't equal intimacy. Amen. Let me say
- 25:40Speaker 1: that again at building did not equal intimacy. God blesses structures,
- 25:47Speaker 1: but he dwells with surrendered hearts. Amen. And we can't
- 25:55Speaker 1: forgive that. We might build a great ministry, and a
- 26:01Speaker 1: lot of people, even through success, lose their way because
- 26:05Speaker 1: we are drawn away. Don't let your blessings draw you
- 26:10Speaker 1: away from intimacy with God. Halo Lujah Verse forty eight.
- 26:17Speaker 1: Albeit the most high dwelling not in temples made with hands,
- 26:25Speaker 1: as said the prophet. Amen. Now Stephan directly confronts temple
- 26:33Speaker 1: worship as an end instead of a means. Right now,
- 26:41Speaker 1: this is where Stephan steps on toes. Religion loves buildings.
- 26:47Speaker 1: God loves people. The Greek word for your ei r
- 26:57Speaker 1: op it i mean oe ts means man made another one.
- 27:06Speaker 1: God refuses to be put in a box. Amen. God
- 27:13Speaker 1: doesn't want to be put in a box, all right.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Verse forty nine and fifty. Heaven is my throne. The
- 27:28Speaker 1: earth is my footstool. What house will you build for me?
- 27:35Speaker 1: Says the Lord? But what is the place of my rest?
- 27:42Speaker 1: Has not my hands made all these things? That is beautiful?
- 27:48Speaker 1: Heaven is my throne. And the earth is my footstell
- 27:52Speaker 1: has my hand not made all of this stuff. God
- 27:56Speaker 1: is sovereign over all creation. No building can contain him.
- 28:03Speaker 1: Stephan is the clearing here that God can't.
- 28:08Speaker 2: Not.
