- 0:50Speaker 1: The after Partie, Welcome to the Disgraceland bonus episode, A
- 1:08Speaker 1: little thing we like to call the after Party. This
- 1:12Speaker 1: is the show after the show, the party after the
- 1:14Speaker 1: party of the bridge to get you from one full
- 1:15Speaker 1: episode of Disgraceland to the other.
- 1:18Speaker 2: The backyard to dig into the dirt.
- 1:20Speaker 1: On this episode, we are talking about, among other things,
- 1:24Speaker 1: our two part re release on the Beach Boys, and
- 1:27Speaker 1: of course your voicemails, texts, dms and more, and as always,
- 1:31Speaker 1: a whole lot of rosy. All right, this goes, let's
- 1:34Speaker 1: get into it. Happy New Year, everybody. Listen, We're back.
- 1:51Speaker 1: We're back sort of. Okay, we're doing a little archive
- 1:54Speaker 1: dip into the archive this week. Keep the feed rocking,
- 1:57Speaker 1: give you guys some content to keep you happy before
- 2:00Speaker 1: we get right back into the new.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Episodes next week.
- 2:02Speaker 1: This week, however, in Disgraceland, parts one and two of
- 2:06Speaker 1: our classic two part episode on the Beach Boys, specifically
- 2:10Speaker 1: about Dennis Wilson, brother, of course to Brian Wilson and
- 2:14Speaker 1: Carl Wilson. Dennis was the band's drummer, but also the
- 2:17Speaker 1: inspiration for all of the songs about all the sort
- 2:20Speaker 1: of surf culture that the Beach Boys covered in the
- 2:22Speaker 1: early sixties. Dennis Wilson, he was the beach boy who
- 2:26Speaker 1: actually surfed, kind of like how Levon Helm was actually
- 2:29Speaker 1: the guy in the band who was actually from the South.
- 2:32Speaker 1: But I digress. Dennis Wilson, however, got caught up in
- 2:35Speaker 1: a lot of darkness. You know the story started hanging
- 2:38Speaker 1: out with Charlie Manson, and you know what happened from there.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Not going to get back into it here, you got
- 2:43Speaker 1: to hear it in the episode. The reason we're playing
- 2:46Speaker 1: you these Dennis Wilson episodes this week is because there's
- 2:50Speaker 1: a heavy New Year's theme and we just thought it
- 2:54Speaker 1: made sense. So check it out. You'll hear in this
- 2:57Speaker 1: story the traditional narrative of about Charles Manson and about
- 3:02Speaker 1: the murders at the Tate household, in the LaBianca household,
- 3:07Speaker 1: and the narratives surrounding Helter Skelter put forth by Vincent Buliosi,
- 3:14Speaker 1: who wrote that book and prosecuted Charles Manson. I believed
- 3:19Speaker 1: this story wholeheartedly up until about, I don't know, a
- 3:24Speaker 1: year after I wrote these episodes, so basically my entire life.
- 3:27Speaker 1: And I read Helter Skelter when I think I was
- 3:31Speaker 1: fifteen or sixteen years old, and it put me on
- 3:35Speaker 1: the trajectory to do what I do now. It started
- 3:38Speaker 1: my obsession with true crime, a different kind of true
- 3:41Speaker 1: crime obsession, not like you know, I'm not obsessed in
- 3:45Speaker 1: the modern way, but I am obsessed in my own way,
- 3:50Speaker 1: especially when true crime meets up and rubs up against
- 3:54Speaker 1: history like it most certainly does here with a lot
- 3:58Speaker 1: of historical figures, a lot of cultural icons, and that's
- 4:01Speaker 1: kind of what we do here. So this is the
- 4:02Speaker 1: perfect story. And I knew I was going to tell
- 4:04Speaker 1: it at some point, And like I said, I believed
- 4:07Speaker 1: this narrative, and I believed what I put forth in
- 4:09Speaker 1: these episodes up until about a year after I wrote them.
- 4:13Speaker 1: And that's because I ended up reading the book Chaos
- 4:18Speaker 1: by Tom O'Neil, which is a Tom O'Neil is a
- 4:22Speaker 1: journalist and he spent I don't know twenty something years
- 4:26Speaker 1: writing this book, and it nearly destroyed his life, quite
- 4:29Speaker 1: literally almost destroyed his life. And the reason for that
- 4:34Speaker 1: is he started following the truth as he was discovering
- 4:39Speaker 1: it in his investigation, which was an investigation he set
- 4:43Speaker 1: out to do. It just sort of unfurled before him,
- 4:46Speaker 1: and he just kept following it like any good journalists.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Would do, following the truth.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Despite the incentives and the incentive structure not being there
- 4:58Speaker 1: and being anything buttoned incentive structure, he had no incentive
- 5:03Speaker 1: to keep following the truth, yet he did. And what
- 5:06Speaker 1: he came up with is a well sourced journalistic spine
- 5:13Speaker 1: that supports in undergirds and provides the scaffolding for a
- 5:18Speaker 1: lot of what was once deemed crazy conspiracy theories about
- 5:24Speaker 1: the Manson murders. Now, Tom O'Neil, I don't want to
- 5:29Speaker 1: misrepresent what chaos that book is, but it does not
- 5:34Speaker 1: validate all of the kook job conspiracies that are out
- 5:37Speaker 1: there about Manson.
- 5:38Speaker 2: There are a lot.
- 5:40Speaker 1: But what it does do is it completely submarines Vincent
- 5:47Speaker 1: Bugliosi's theory of helter skelter, the one that has been
- 5:50Speaker 1: accepted for years, and it does so with facts and
- 5:55Speaker 1: evidence and in a way that you just cannot deny.
- 5:58Speaker 1: When you read this book and you look at the sources,
- 6:01Speaker 1: that's the key, and you think about the incentive, that's
- 6:05Speaker 1: the other key. The author, the journalist had no incentive
- 6:10Speaker 1: to follow the truth. It hurt him to follow the truth,
- 6:14Speaker 1: Yet he did, which tells me that it's true. It
- 6:19Speaker 1: tells me the guy's not trying to sell books. He
- 6:22Speaker 1: couldn't sell enough books to make up for what this
- 6:24Speaker 1: book did to his life. Okay, when you read the book,
- 6:27Speaker 1: you'll understand, and you know he's gone on.
- 6:31Speaker 2: You know he went On.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Not only did he go on a book tour, I think,
- 6:35Speaker 1: I guess now that I think about it, I've never
- 6:37Speaker 1: really heard an interview with him, but despite reading that
- 6:41Speaker 1: book twice, but he had many people out there talking
- 6:47Speaker 1: about this book at a time. I remember hearing Quentin
- 6:51Speaker 1: Tarantino talk about it at a time when Quentin Tarantino's
- 6:55Speaker 1: Manson related film Once upon a Time when Hollywood was
- 6:58Speaker 1: out there, And that's a particular type of movie. It's
- 7:03Speaker 1: more of a love letter to Hollywood than it is
- 7:05Speaker 1: any sort of that it pretends to be any sort
- 7:07Speaker 1: of like real historical document. It doesn't do that. And
- 7:11Speaker 1: Tarantino has his own angle and his own point of
- 7:14Speaker 1: view clearly, but he believes a lot of what is
- 7:18Speaker 1: in the Tom O'Neil book, and it changed his mind,
- 7:21Speaker 1: as it did to many others. And then you go
- 7:23Speaker 1: back and you start to read. You read The Family,
- 7:26Speaker 1: you read, you read all these other books that were
- 7:28Speaker 1: sort of dismissed over the years, books about Charles Manson,
- 7:31Speaker 1: and then you start to go, oh my god, this stuff,
- 7:34Speaker 1: this stuff was right on, and you look at how
- 7:38Speaker 1: Tom O'Neill explains the actual history of Hollywood in the
- 7:42Speaker 1: sixties and where Dennis Wilson, our subject, rubs up against
- 7:46Speaker 1: Charles Manson and you start to go, holy shit, We've
- 7:51Speaker 1: been being lied to for decades, everything we thought was wrong,
- 7:56Speaker 1: and then you look at the Helter Skelter story and
- 7:59Speaker 1: you just go, I can't believe I bought this load
- 8:01Speaker 1: of shit. The Beatles in a race war and Charles
- 8:07Speaker 1: Manson is king of the world. God unbelievable. Anyways, like
- 8:12Speaker 1: I said, I didn't come to that knowledge until about
- 8:16Speaker 1: a year after I wrote these episodes, and I read
- 8:20Speaker 1: Tom O'Neil's Chaos, and from there it just spun me out.
- 8:23Speaker 1: It spun out Zeth, who writes obviously I talk about
- 8:26Speaker 1: Seth all the time, who writes here at disgrace Land
- 8:28Speaker 1: and bad Lands and Double Elvis. But it spun me out.
- 8:33Speaker 1: And we've created numerous other episodes that try to sort of,
- 8:38Speaker 1: you know, write the record in my mind, and we
- 8:41Speaker 1: did the The two that come to mind that are
- 8:44Speaker 1: that most strongly make Tom O'Neill's case, I think, are
- 8:49Speaker 1: the two Cass Elliott episodes about Mama cass Elliott from
- 8:52Speaker 1: the Mamas and the Papas. We did a sort of
- 8:55Speaker 1: Rashman Answer episodes to cass l in Disgraceland. We did
- 9:01Speaker 1: two Sharon Tate episodes over in the bad Lands feed.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Sharon Tate was Mama Casse Elliott's best friend, and those
- 9:08Speaker 1: those episodes are more than just in conversation with each other.
- 9:12Speaker 1: There's sort of mirror images of each other. And it
- 9:14Speaker 1: was a really cool creative angle that we took. I
- 9:17Speaker 1: wrote the EPs, Zeth wrote the Sharon Tate episodes, encourage
- 9:21Speaker 1: you guys to check them out as as that as
- 9:24Speaker 1: two related pieces. And then of course we did the
- 9:27Speaker 1: Charles Manson episode and looked at his music career specifically
- 9:32Speaker 1: and how that related to the Bouliosi narrative in the
- 9:36Speaker 1: bullshit of the Bouliosi narrative, actually, so Helter Skelter, the
- 9:41Speaker 1: greatest selling true crime book of all time by Vincent Buliosi,
- 9:46Speaker 1: is in my mind, a large crock of shit, and
- 9:50Speaker 1: you know, unfortunately it influenced me as it has countless others,
- 9:54Speaker 1: And the results of that are in those two Dennis
- 9:56Speaker 1: Wilson episodes that you're going to hear. Don't let that
- 9:59Speaker 1: sway from listening to them, okay, because the thing we
- 10:03Speaker 1: do in these episodes is we really find our way
- 10:06Speaker 1: into sort of the horror creative of Disgraceland, and as
- 10:10Speaker 1: a produced piece of content, I'm very proud of it.
- 10:14Speaker 1: And I'm also very proud of how we treated the character,
- 10:16Speaker 1: the real life character of Dennis Wilson, which is a
- 10:19Speaker 1: very complicated one. So I encourage you, if you're new here,
- 10:23Speaker 1: and I know a lot of you are, after hearing
- 10:26Speaker 1: this bonus episode, check out the Dennis Wilson episodes from there,
- 10:30Speaker 1: go on and listen to the cast Elliott episodes and
- 10:32Speaker 1: then the Charles Manson episode. You will not be disappointed.
- 10:36Speaker 1: And I think what I'm gonna do with all of
- 10:38Speaker 1: these Charles Manson episodes.
- 10:40Speaker 2: I think I'm going to.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Put him into a book or some sort of graphic
- 10:44Speaker 1: anthology something like that, and I released them later in
- 10:47Speaker 1: the year because I feel like it's a good it's
- 10:49Speaker 1: a strong document. Put some cool art to it could
- 10:52Speaker 1: be really cool. Anyways, all right, that's it on what
- 10:54Speaker 1: we got going this week. I'm gonna take a quick break.
- 10:56Speaker 1: I really got to drink some tea. My voice is
- 10:58Speaker 1: shattered this week recording so much back in a flash
- 11:02Speaker 1: with some emails, voicemails and texts from you guys later.
- 11:27Speaker 1: All right, we are back six one seven nine oh
- 11:30Speaker 1: six six six three eight. Hit me up if you
- 11:32Speaker 1: have any questions about the Dennis Wilson episodes, or any
- 11:35Speaker 1: of the Charles Manson content that we've put out, or
- 11:37Speaker 1: anything that I just said here earlier in the bonus episode.
- 11:40Speaker 1: I know it's confusing. I know it's weird guys when
- 11:43Speaker 1: you just you hear someone telling you, like, look, everything
- 11:45Speaker 1: you've heard is wrong. What I'm saying now is right.
- 11:48Speaker 1: I know that's a fucking weird thing to open your
- 11:51Speaker 1: ears up to. So if you have any specific questions,
- 11:53Speaker 1: I'm happy to answer those six one seven nine oh
- 11:56Speaker 1: six six six three eight voicemail and text at disgracelam
- 12:01Speaker 1: pod on Instagram, x Facebook, TikTok. You can hit us
- 12:05Speaker 1: up on YouTube as well. We've been growing fast these
- 12:09Speaker 1: last couple of weeks over at Disgrace lampod on Instagram,
- 12:13Speaker 1: and I know that's affecting the growth of the show
- 12:16Speaker 1: here as well.
- 12:17Speaker 2: It's awesome.
- 12:18Speaker 1: I want to thank you guys who for all the
- 12:20Speaker 1: engagement over there. I want to thank all the new
- 12:22Speaker 1: listeners as well. Welcome again. You can call me, you
- 12:27Speaker 1: can leave me a voicemail, you can send me a text.
- 12:29Speaker 1: I respond that way, and of course I respond through
- 12:32Speaker 1: the DMS. We've been trying to figure out, even before
- 12:35Speaker 1: this growth, this recent little growth spurt we've had, We've
- 12:37Speaker 1: been trying to figure out here in the Disgracelane community,
- 12:40Speaker 1: how we better speak to each other in a way
- 12:45Speaker 1: that isn't just about me answering every DM and every
- 12:49Speaker 1: text and every voicemail that I can, I can't answer
- 12:52Speaker 1: them all clearly, or even every email, but just I've
- 12:56Speaker 1: been thinking, how do we all sort of talk to
- 12:58Speaker 1: each other. There's a lot of I talked to a
- 13:00Speaker 1: lot of you daily, and some of you talk to
- 13:04Speaker 1: each other in the comments. But I've been trying to
- 13:06Speaker 1: figure out a way to do this efficiently where we're
- 13:10Speaker 1: all sort of in some sort of digital community every
- 13:14Speaker 1: day talking Disgraceland, talking Disgraceland content, talking music, talking true crime,
- 13:18Speaker 1: talking dark stories about icons, because that's what we do,
- 13:22Speaker 1: talking about recommendations, the music we love, the movies we love,
- 13:27Speaker 1: all of that, the whole conversation, how do we do
- 13:30Speaker 1: it together? How do we do it regularly? How do
- 13:32Speaker 1: we do it in a way that isn't choked out
- 13:33Speaker 1: by an algorithm, and I've put some ideas out on
- 13:38Speaker 1: Instagram last night heard back from you guys. I'm recording
- 13:41Speaker 1: this early, by the way, I'm recording this what is
- 13:43Speaker 1: it December twenty second, so I can take some time
- 13:46Speaker 1: off with my family next week and not have to record,
- 13:49Speaker 1: So I guess yeah. Last night I put some ideas
- 13:52Speaker 1: up on Instagram about how we can sort of more
- 13:57Speaker 1: efficiently speak to each other and specific There's this thing,
- 14:01Speaker 1: this group chat technology that we can all get into,
- 14:04Speaker 1: and there's multiple ways to do it different platforms. But
- 14:08Speaker 1: I just want to shout out all of you who
- 14:10Speaker 1: have been engaged in this conversation. Johnny Vineyl, Jessicat, Aaron
- 14:15Speaker 1: Lisa Murphy, KKBB four, so many Heather Good, Luke, Nolan,
- 14:21Speaker 1: Tosh Solo, Peter Young, so many of you on Instagram, Chips, Coco,
- 14:27Speaker 1: just Elie or Daz, Tony Wolf, Madeiros. I just want
- 14:31Speaker 1: to shout out all you guys for responding, for giving
- 14:34Speaker 1: me your feedback. Chris on it as always contributing in
- 14:38Speaker 1: the community, making content for you guys. See that's another
- 14:42Speaker 1: thing too. I Mean, this guy's like he's a real
- 14:44Speaker 1: DJ over in Australia. He's making mixes for us, and
- 14:48Speaker 1: like he'll send me a Spotify link and I can
- 14:50Speaker 1: put a story up about it. But like, you know,
- 14:52Speaker 1: how many of you are actually going to see that?
- 14:54Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 14:55Speaker 1: Like, this is this type of stuff I'm trying to
- 14:57Speaker 1: figure out. So I just wanted to shout those of
- 14:59Speaker 1: you who have been a sort of constant voice in
- 15:04Speaker 1: my ear on the subject over the last couple of nights.
- 15:06Speaker 2: I appreciate it.
- 15:08Speaker 3: Oh.
- 15:08Speaker 1: I don't know your real name, but your handle is
- 15:12Speaker 1: oh Kate Cooper Photography. Thank you so much. Just appreciate it.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Like I said, all right, let's do let's answer some emails,
- 15:20Speaker 1: let's answer some texts, and let's hear some of your voicemails.
- 15:25Speaker 1: All right, This email comes from Jason Bain. By the way, guys,
- 15:27Speaker 1: you can email me Disgrace lampod at gmail dot com.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Jason writes, Hey, Jake, my favorite Christmas song is and
- 15:34Speaker 1: I'm biased, but it's Jingle Jangle by Kay Kaiser. The arrangement,
- 15:38Speaker 1: the vocal flavor, the backup vocals and strings so good.
- 15:42Speaker 1: I'm biased because the guy singing is my great uncle
- 15:46Speaker 1: Harry Babbitt. Harry was also the voice of Woody Woodpecker
- 15:49Speaker 1: and other cartoons, and was also a radio and TV
- 15:52Speaker 1: host in the forties and fifties. The song is a
- 15:55Speaker 1: special magic in my heart. Maybe you heard it. If not,
- 15:57Speaker 1: give it a spin. Take care Mary Holidays rock a
- 16:00Speaker 1: roll up, brother, Jason. That's so awesome to hear I was.
- 16:03Speaker 1: I started reading that, I was like, wait, why's he biased?
- 16:07Speaker 1: We're big Woody Woodpecker fans in this house. I try
- 16:09Speaker 1: to get my kids into some of the cartoons that
- 16:11Speaker 1: I was into as a kid. Woody Woodpecker is one
- 16:14Speaker 1: that has stuck Tom and Jerry as well. So thanks, Jason,
- 16:17Speaker 1: appreciate that. John writes in a Little About Me subject
- 16:22Speaker 1: a Little Bit about Me from John j Owen Hatty
- 16:25Speaker 1: friend John from Arizona. I listened to Disgrace and whilst
- 16:29Speaker 1: I work, I kill things for a living. I listened
- 16:31Speaker 1: to just about every type of music, Love the Misfits
- 16:34Speaker 1: and Reverend Horton Heat. When I was younger, I would
- 16:37Speaker 1: look for metal Blade records or buy albums by the
- 16:39Speaker 1: cover art recommendations Viagra boys. Well listen, uh, John, I'm
- 16:43Speaker 1: not sure what you kill for a living? But I
- 16:46Speaker 1: hope it's uh. I don't know. I don't fucking know.
- 16:49Speaker 1: I don't like killing of anything. I'm hoping maybe maybe
- 16:51Speaker 1: you work. Geez, I feel weird reading that email.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Now, John, write me back. Tell me you're not a
- 16:57Speaker 2: hit man.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Tell me you're not like a Corsican assassin who's been
- 17:01Speaker 1: sent here to take out some high level I'm not
- 17:04Speaker 1: even gonna go there, all right, let's keep going here
- 17:07Speaker 1: from sky Dabney thirteen right saying never again?
- 17:13Speaker 2: Will I order merch?
- 17:15Speaker 1: I ordered something two weeks ago and still haven't received it.
- 17:18Speaker 1: I know this isn't your fault, but I've even contacted
- 17:21Speaker 1: Downright Merch and no response. So it seems as if
- 17:25Speaker 1: I've just lost my money. Just thought you should know
- 17:27Speaker 1: in case anyone else has issues, or maybe am I
- 17:29Speaker 1: the only one who knows? Love the podcast keep them coming? Well, listen,
- 17:35Speaker 1: I'm really sorry about that, and I have no idea
- 17:37Speaker 1: what the problem is, and I'm gonna try and figure
- 17:39Speaker 1: that out. I'll contact Downright Merch myself and we'll try
- 17:42Speaker 1: to find out what is up with your order. I
- 17:45Speaker 1: would encourage you to give me a little more info
- 17:48Speaker 1: on the order. Maybe I can help track this down
- 17:50Speaker 1: for you, and if any of you are having any
- 17:52Speaker 1: trouble receiving our merchandise, hit me up and let me know.
- 17:57Speaker 1: Disgrace Lampod at gmail dot com. All right, let's check
- 18:01Speaker 1: out this email from Christine Es. Dear Jake, thank you
- 18:04Speaker 1: for the great podcast. I'm a fan and can't stop listening.
- 18:07Speaker 1: I was wondering if you have intentions of ever going
- 18:09Speaker 1: more in depth the assassination of Peter Tosh. I find
- 18:13Speaker 1: him to be fascinating as a musician. Well, Merry Christmas
- 18:16Speaker 1: and rock Corolla.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Christine. It's your lucky day, your lucky week. This week.
- 18:21Speaker 1: In fact, I recorded not one, but two episodes on
- 18:25Speaker 1: Peter Tosh and they'll be coming out in a couple months.
- 18:28Speaker 1: All right, soon, actually very soon, very soon in the
- 18:31Speaker 1: new year. All right, thanks guys, Disgrace Sampod at gmail
- 18:36Speaker 1: dot com. Let's do some voicemail six one seven nine
- 18:38Speaker 1: oh six six six three eight. That's how you hit
- 18:40Speaker 1: me on the voicemail machine. Let's check out this voicemail
- 18:43Speaker 1: from the three one four.
- 18:45Speaker 3: Hey Jake, Kevin Bosh calling from the three to one four,

- 24:12Speaker 1: instagram x, TikTok, facebook, everywhere also on. YouTube someone wrote
- 24:19Speaker 1: to me the other, day and forgive, ME i don't
- 24:21Speaker 1: know who it was AND i can't dig it out
- 24:23Speaker 1: of MY dms right, now but someone asked me what
- 24:25Speaker 1: the origin of the phrase rock a rolla, is where
- 24:29Speaker 1: it came, from and WHY i say it in every
- 24:32Speaker 1: episode Of, disgraceland at the end of every. Episode and
- 24:35Speaker 1: now you guys say. It you write to me all the,
- 24:37Speaker 1: time rock AND, rolla rock AND, rolla rock AND. Rolla
- 24:41Speaker 1: it's a great, saying Isn't It just feels good coming
- 24:43Speaker 1: off your. Tongue that's how it.
- 24:45Speaker 2: HAPPENED i didn't plan on saying it WHEN i said.
- 24:49Speaker 1: IT i just said it WHEN i was recording that first,
- 24:51Speaker 1: episode and THEN i said it again WHEN i recorded the, second, third, fourth,
- 24:54Speaker 1: Fifth and you know, what up until about the sixth
- 24:56Speaker 1: or seventh, EPISODE i wasn't even sure what it. Meant
- 24:59Speaker 1: and and it ended up being a thing fairly quickly
- 25:03Speaker 1: with you guys who started to engage with me once
- 25:05Speaker 1: the podcast was released originally way back in twenty, eighteen
- 25:09Speaker 1: you guys started, writing writing to me and signing things
- 25:13Speaker 1: rock A. Rolla and it occurred to, Me, Gee, jake
- 25:16Speaker 1: you should really try to maybe figure out what the
- 25:19Speaker 1: fuck it is you're saying and broadcasting out to all these,
- 25:21Speaker 1: people or podcasting out.
- 25:23Speaker 2: To all these people on a regular. Basis SO i
- 25:26Speaker 2: looked it.
- 25:27Speaker 1: UP i of course knew it was A Judas priest,
- 25:29Speaker 1: song AND i knew The Judas priest, song AND i
- 25:31Speaker 1: loved The Judas priest. Song that's not WHY i said,
- 25:33Speaker 1: IT i just LIKE i, SAID i just said. It
- 25:37Speaker 1: SO i looked up the meaning of, it and in
- 25:40Speaker 1: one of those sort of holy spirit moments synchronization whatever
- 25:44Speaker 1: you want to call, it, synchronicity the, universe however you
- 25:48Speaker 1: look at, things it was just. PERFECT i looked this
- 25:52Speaker 1: up and the meaning of rock A Rolla i'm paraphrasing,
- 25:57Speaker 1: here but it basically means a full embrace of the criminal.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Lifestyle AND i think that comes from the movie RockA,
- 26:06Speaker 1: rolla WHICH i still to this day have not. SEEN
- 26:08Speaker 1: i even have A rock A rolla tattoo that a,
- 26:10Speaker 1: Listener danny From Los, angeles gave to. Me it's two
- 26:14Speaker 1: handcuffed hands with rock And rolla on the. Knuckles But
- 26:20Speaker 1: i've never seen that, movie AND i don't Think i'm
- 26:21Speaker 1: gonna see the. Movie BUT i just, thought, damn that
- 26:26Speaker 1: makes total sense for a podcast Like. Disgraceland so there
- 26:30Speaker 1: you have. It there's the origin story Of rock A.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Rolla and AS i was thinking about this over the
- 26:37Speaker 1: past couple, days relative to the after, party, here the bonus,
- 26:41Speaker 1: episodes the content that we make it occurred to me
- 26:44Speaker 1: that there's a rock And rolla moment many rock And
- 26:47Speaker 1: rolla moments in our, episodes frequently regularly where the subject
- 26:54Speaker 1: just does something where you're just, LIKE i can't believe
- 26:57Speaker 1: that motherfucker just did. That that's the Rock a, moment
- 27:00Speaker 1: AND i can't. Believe i've never organized my thinking in
- 27:03Speaker 1: this way, before But i'm going to start BECAUSE i
- 27:08Speaker 1: find that these, moments these holy shit moments that we
- 27:12Speaker 1: come upon in the research and that we write about
- 27:16Speaker 1: and that we include in our podcast, episodes and That
- 27:18Speaker 1: i'm now sort of making these little videos On instagram
- 27:21Speaker 1: With they're in part what gets you guys, stoked all,
- 27:26Speaker 1: Right So i'm giving them a. Name they're now the
- 27:28Speaker 1: rock And roller. Moments i'll be hitting them here in
- 27:30Speaker 1: the after. Parties you'll be hearing about.
- 27:33Speaker 4: It.
- 27:33Speaker 1: RECOMMENDATIONS i want new music from you. GUYS i don't
- 27:37Speaker 1: mean new like it was made. RECENTLY i mean, SHIT
- 27:39Speaker 1: i have not heard it's the new. YEAR i want
- 27:42Speaker 1: to be psyched on. MUSIC i want to BE i
