- 0:46Speaker 1: which originally aired way back in August twenty eighteen on Hallmark. Wow,
- 0:53Speaker 1: that feels like a long time ago, and it was.

- 1:26Speaker 1: might hear it included an upcoming Listener mailbag episode where
- 1:29Speaker 1: we share your thoughts, your opinions, and you know, tangents
- 1:34Speaker 1: abound over there. It's such a fun episode to record.
- 1:37Speaker 1: I really love those. Let's hear synopsis for Pearl in Paradise.
- 1:42Speaker 2: It's kind of long, so be prepared. Okay, it's not
- 1:46Speaker 2: that long. It's three sentences, but you know, it could
- 1:48Speaker 2: take me five minutes. So Alex hopes to be create
- 1:50Speaker 2: a director of her magazine if she photographs the blue
- 1:53Speaker 2: pearl Colin wrote about in the book Pearl in Paradise.
- 1:58Speaker 2: He hopes that by writing a guest article for her magazine,
- 2:01Speaker 2: he'll boost his failing sales. The two decide to keep
- 2:05Speaker 2: searching for the rare pearl in Fiji, neither aware yet
- 2:09Speaker 2: that finding true love could just be the rarest adventure
- 2:12Speaker 2: of all. Oh god, I know, I don't know who
- 2:16Speaker 2: wrote that. I obviously I copy and paste that from
- 2:20Speaker 2: like the press site. Sometimes I am dB, but mostly
- 2:23Speaker 2: the press site.
- 2:23Speaker 1: I'm like wolf. I mean, it was seven years ago,
- 2:28Speaker 1: so I know, I know, different people, yeah, yeah, yea
- 2:31Speaker 1: yea yeah, different different everything O. Pearl and Paradise was
- 2:35Speaker 1: directed by Gary Yates. Gary has a deep resume of
- 2:38Speaker 1: Hallmark and Hallmark esque directorial projects. His forty three credits
- 2:41Speaker 1: include Christmas by Starlight and On the Twelfth Date of Christmas.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Jennifer notice Shapiro shares the story credit for Pearl and Paradise.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Her other projects include Christmas under Wraps and A Christmas Treasure.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Christine Conrad is credited both with the story and the
- 2:59Speaker 1: teleplay for the movie. She has seventy four writing credits,
- 3:03Speaker 1: and those include some of our favorites like On the
- 3:05Speaker 1: Twelfth Date of Christmas and Tipline Mysteries Dial one for Murder.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Jill Wagner stars as Alex Anderson. Although she will go
- 3:13Speaker 2: on to appear in seven mystery one on one movies
- 3:16Speaker 2: with her co star Chris Polaha. This movie predates that series.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Which I didn't know. I was surprised by that information.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Jill has forty one acting credits, which include sixteen episodes
- 3:30Speaker 2: of the series Lioness on Paramount, plus.
- 3:33Speaker 1: A show my husband watches and enjoys very much. Oh,
- 3:37Speaker 1: I don't know anything about that show. Christopher Polaha as
- 3:39Speaker 1: Colin Page needs no introduction. He has a total of
- 3:42Speaker 1: ninety acting credits, including the aforementioned Mystery one on one
- 3:46Speaker 1: series A Builtmore Christmas, A Diggins of a Holiday and
- 3:49Speaker 1: The Christmas Quest.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Rob Kippo Williams plays Malachi rob Is of New Zealand
- 3:55Speaker 2: descent and has twenty two acting credits, including one hundred
- 3:57Speaker 2: and ninety eight episodes of the Australia.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Drama Home and Away. Naomi Sikira plays Daniella Naomi As,
- 4:05Speaker 1: an Australian actress who also appeared in the Hallmark movie
- 4:07Speaker 1: Hearts down Under. In twenty twenty.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Dina Gillepsi appears as Sharon Williams Surprise. Dina is also
- 4:17Speaker 2: an Australian actress with twenty two acting credits.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Pearl and Paradise was filmed on location in Fiji. Hey,
- 4:25Speaker 1: we're gonna take a quick break and we're gonna come
- 4:26Speaker 1: right back with our first impressions of Pearl in Paradise. Hey, Wendy,
- 4:38Speaker 1: what is your first impression of the fan favorite movie
- 4:41Speaker 1: Pearl in Paradise. Well?
- 4:43Speaker 2: I kind of mentioned this in are about section, but
- 4:46Speaker 2: considering the chemistry between these two leads, I could have
- 4:49Speaker 2: sworn that they filmed this between takes of Mystery.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Oh yeah, so I have some thoughts about that as
- 4:57Speaker 1: well in my likes. But my first impression is I
- 5:00Speaker 1: think Pearl and Paradise might be the movie that came
- 5:02Speaker 1: first and set the bar in the hidden treasure hunt
- 5:05Speaker 1: genre of movie.
- 5:06Speaker 2: M That's really interesting you mentioned that, because that's my
- 5:10Speaker 2: first like. I like that there was a treasure hunt
- 5:16Speaker 2: aspect in this movie, and it reminded me a lot.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Of The Christmas Quest, which is also another Christopher Palaja movie.
- 5:23Speaker 2: From last year. I like when Hallmark does like these
- 5:27Speaker 2: adventure type movies, and I thought they did this one well.
- 5:30Speaker 2: It had good leads, it had a beautiful location, and
- 5:36Speaker 2: I liked the interesting.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Lore that it offered. That's really interesting that you say that,
- 5:42Speaker 1: because I love The Christmas Quest. This movie reminded me
- 5:49Speaker 1: of movies like Chasing Waterfalls and that other movie where
- 5:52Speaker 1: they find the indigenous artifact where there's always some sort
- 5:57Speaker 1: of drama around the finding of the artifact itself. I
- 6:02Speaker 1: think this is significantly better than those movies. I think
- 6:06Speaker 1: those movies saw the success of this movie and they're like,
- 6:09Speaker 1: we're going to do everything we can to recreate it,
- 6:11Speaker 1: and I think, by and large have failed to recreate it.
- 6:16Speaker 1: And I think the reason why in large, well Yeah,
- 6:22Speaker 1: I'm gonna say it. I think the reason why they
- 6:24Speaker 1: haven't been as successful is. Look, it's really clear to
- 6:26Speaker 1: me why Jill and Chris went on to film seven
- 6:29Speaker 1: Mystery one on one movies together because their chemistry is
- 6:32Speaker 1: fire mm hmm, I agree to you. I could totally
- 6:35Speaker 1: see Hallmark or the powers that be or whomever, whether
- 6:40Speaker 1: it's the director or the writer, being like, yo, we
- 6:43Speaker 1: got to get these two working together because this is
- 6:46Speaker 1: their first project together and they have such natural chemistry.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I would love to know how quickly Mystery one
- 6:53Speaker 2: on one came after this movie, not even essentially like
- 6:58Speaker 2: of like when it came out, but like, I.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Think that next movie was twenty nineteen, so a pretty
- 7:04Speaker 1: who knows when they were made as opposed to when
- 7:07Speaker 1: they were released, right, but there certainly was a fairly
- 7:11Speaker 1: I mean, they put out seven Mystery one oh one
- 7:14Speaker 1: movies over a relatively short It was just looking at
- 7:17Speaker 1: the dates of those movies yesterday, I think it's about
- 7:19Speaker 1: three years where all seven movies come out. Oh wow, wow.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Well I did think Jill Wagner and Chris were great together.
- 7:29Speaker 2: They have like an ease about them. Yeah, I had
- 7:33Speaker 2: honestly assumed that they had already worked on Mystery one
- 7:37Speaker 2: on one and had like built that natural rapport because
- 7:40Speaker 2: that that series is so lensed to like a lot
- 7:43Speaker 2: of conversation and whatever. I don't know, his reactions to
- 7:47Speaker 2: her felt so genuine, Like he's very natural, Like he
- 7:51Speaker 2: just makes it look effortless.
- 7:54Speaker 1: He's super likable.
- 7:55Speaker 2: I mean, guys, if you didn't know, I'm kind of
- 7:57Speaker 2: a fan, so I mean, yeah, he's he's he's just
- 8:01Speaker 2: one of the best.
- 8:04Speaker 1: We just talked about her pen pal where Paris really
- 8:09Speaker 1: sold the movie for us. For me, Fiji is its
- 8:12Speaker 1: own character. It's like scenery porn. I really loved the
- 8:15Speaker 1: setting and I like that we get a mix of both.
- 8:19Speaker 1: It's not just like all sweaty jungle hunting. They have
- 8:23Speaker 1: some like fun resortie. There's a dance scene and there's
- 8:27Speaker 1: a fruity drink at a bar scene.
- 8:28Speaker 2: You know, I can we talk about the feudy fruity
- 8:31Speaker 2: drink at the bar scene. It's one of my favorite
- 8:34Speaker 2: exchanges between the two of them and when they first meet,
- 8:38Speaker 2: when they first meet after the airport, like they had
- 8:41Speaker 2: like had that whole exchange at the airport and then
- 8:44Speaker 2: they're at the hotel or whatever, and Alex is drinking
- 8:47Speaker 2: a cocktail and what's his character's name, Colin. Colin's like, oh,
- 8:55Speaker 2: I only drink tea and the line is I drink tea,
- 8:58Speaker 2: to which she responds in this.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Client and he says, in any climate. And I just
- 9:02Speaker 1: thought it was so funny.
- 9:04Speaker 2: One because I'm a tea drinker myself, so like I did,
- 9:07Speaker 2: under got tea when it's one hundred degrees out, I
- 9:09Speaker 2: don't care. But like, I just thought it was so funny.
- 9:13Speaker 2: And I did really enjoy that dance scene as well.
- 9:16Speaker 2: I I yeah, I just liked them together. They just
- 9:20Speaker 2: were so good together.
- 9:24Speaker 1: One hundred percent agree. I just you said they're natural.
- 9:28Speaker 1: They just I just want to watch them. I'm like, yeah,
- 9:30Speaker 1: just just let them, let them run, because they just
- 9:34Speaker 1: they sell me on their chemistry. Kind of in that
- 9:37Speaker 1: same vein, Like you said, I liked the Treasure Hunt element.
- 9:40Speaker 1: I thought it was well done on a Hallmark level.
- 9:43Speaker 1: And that's not a knock. I mean, you know we're
- 9:45Speaker 1: working with here. We're not going to get crazy special
- 9:50Speaker 1: effects and stunts through this forest. But I I thought
- 9:53Speaker 1: the reveal of the treasure wasn't as hokey as it
- 9:57Speaker 1: could have been. This was a summer nights movie, and
- 10:01Speaker 1: I think it does exactly what it's supposed to do.
- 10:04Speaker 1: It makes you want to head off on a tropical vacation.
- 10:06Speaker 1: It makes you want a little summer romance. There's a
- 10:08Speaker 1: good balance of adventure and resort luxury. I think this
- 10:11Speaker 1: movie does exactly what it's supposed to do. You've got
- 10:14Speaker 1: great romantic leads, you've got beautiful, beautiful scenery, You've got
- 10:18Speaker 1: just a little summer escape romance. I think it's well
- 10:22Speaker 1: done in there.
- 10:24Speaker 2: That is so funny. I've never really thought about that
- 10:27Speaker 2: with their summer lineup, of the kinds of movies that
- 10:32Speaker 2: they put out in the summer. And yes, you're right,
- 10:35Speaker 2: that's exactly the kind of movie I want if I'm
- 10:37Speaker 2: at home, Yeah, watching a summer movie. Yeah, I want
- 10:41Speaker 2: to escape to a tropical island with beautiful leads and
- 10:46Speaker 2: a fun adventure.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Yeah, nailed it. Well, you know, I think the problem
- 10:50Speaker 1: sometimes is we have homemark themes their months or their series,
- 10:55Speaker 1: and sometimes those themes are purely for clumbing a group
- 10:59Speaker 1: of movies together. Right, there's no actual themes of the movies.
- 11:02Speaker 1: They're like, well we got these four movies were dropping
- 11:04Speaker 1: them in August. Let's call it some summer or something.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Let's call our four September movies Autumn Harvest or Fallen
- 11:09Speaker 1: to Love, even if there's not a single dead leaf, right,
- 11:14Speaker 1: I kind of I don't necessarily want every single movie
- 11:17Speaker 1: to fall into a theme, but I like it when
- 11:21Speaker 1: the theme works. I agree. I agree.
- 11:23Speaker 2: Also, something I liked about this I enjoy the opposites
- 11:28Speaker 2: attract Trope.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think they do it a whole lot Hallmark.
- 11:34Speaker 2: I mean, maybe they do, and I just can't remember
- 11:36Speaker 2: right now, Like it wasn't it wasn't enemies to lumbers here,
- 11:42Speaker 2: but I appreciated like how regimented Colin was, like keeping
- 11:47Speaker 2: his life running smoothly, Like I found that highly relatable.
- 11:50Speaker 2: But then in contrast, I enjoyed that Alex was like
- 11:54Speaker 2: more adventurous, and I found that kind of admirable. So
- 11:59Speaker 2: I just thought, like, these two opposites completely work together.
- 12:03Speaker 1: I agree with you. I think I think it's easy
- 12:06Speaker 1: to mix up enemies to lovers and opposites attract. Like
- 12:10Speaker 1: there was some conflict early on, simply because their ways
- 12:13Speaker 1: of doing things were so different, but it wasn't mean spirited. Yeah,
- 12:18Speaker 1: it didn't like lead into like, uh, I hate this person.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Now I have to spend all this time with this person, yes,
- 12:24Speaker 1: growing pains in their relationship, figuring out how to work together. Yeah,
- 12:28Speaker 1: you know, I can't help.
- 12:29Speaker 2: But think about how you mentioned that movie chasing Waterfalls
- 12:34Speaker 2: up at the top, and.
- 12:37Speaker 1: I do have.
- 12:38Speaker 2: To admit when I saw that she was like, oh,
- 12:40Speaker 2: I'm going to be out and taking photos of this
- 12:43Speaker 2: like special thing. I thought, oh god, this is what
- 12:46Speaker 2: we have, Like she's going to take a picture of
- 12:48Speaker 2: something that she wasn't supposed to and et cetera, et cetera.
- 12:52Speaker 1: I'm glad that it. I mean it did kind of
- 12:54Speaker 1: like go that way a little bit, but I'm like,
- 13:01Speaker 1: oh no, it accidentally got sent. Yeah, I'm weird GPS location,
- 13:05Speaker 1: and now everybody knows, and I have ruined the secret.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, That's why I'm glad
- 13:12Speaker 2: it didn't go that way.
- 13:13Speaker 1: It kind of surprised me a little bit. Yeah, I
- 13:17Speaker 1: think that's what these other movies really wanted to be.
- 13:21Speaker 1: I think the fact that they found the treasure agreed
- 13:25Speaker 1: to keep it a secret so that everybody could experience
- 13:28Speaker 1: the magic of finding it. I actually kind of liked that,
- 13:33Speaker 1: like the story about being like the journey is more
- 13:36Speaker 1: important than the destination.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I liked that part too. However, when they find
- 13:40Speaker 2: the pearl and the inscription, I was like, lon doesn't
- 13:44Speaker 2: make any sense to me. Please dumb it down, like
- 13:47Speaker 2: I need you to explain it to me.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I understand that. I think it was a little
- 13:52Speaker 1: bit like, you know, whatever the line was, he who
- 13:55Speaker 1: finds it will never be worthy. I was like, wait,
- 13:57Speaker 1: I don't understand, but the idea being I think I
- 14:00Speaker 1: think it's your own triumph, not one you need to
- 14:04Speaker 1: share with the world, Like let this continue to be
- 14:06Speaker 1: this secret, special thing and not turn it into like
- 14:11Speaker 1: put it in a museum or make it a treasure
- 14:13Speaker 1: hunter thing that people are going to ruin the experience.
- 14:16Speaker 1: I just I liked the sentiment. My brain can't help
- 14:20Speaker 1: but go to like someone's gonna ruin it. Someone's gonna
- 14:22Speaker 1: come along and not be as good of spirit and
- 14:26Speaker 1: ruin the experience for sure, for people in the future,
- 14:28Speaker 1: for sure, for sure?
- 14:30Speaker 2: For sure.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Uh are you ready for wishes? I am? I really
- 14:34Speaker 1: only have one.
- 14:35Speaker 2: Okay, mine is explain to me how.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Alex didn't understand that Colin did not know where the
- 14:44Speaker 1: pearl was because no one knows. I know, he says,
- 14:50Speaker 1: like he has secret information. But they spent days listening
- 14:54Speaker 1: to all of these people tell them that they don't
- 14:56Speaker 1: know where it is, all of these people who have
- 15:00Speaker 1: more connection to the pearl. It just seemed like when
- 15:02Speaker 1: he finally revealed to her, I don't know where it is,
- 15:04Speaker 1: I thought, duh, of course you don't know where It
- 15:08Speaker 1: just didn't make sense to me that he was telling
- 15:09Speaker 1: her like, I know where it is, but then they
- 15:12Speaker 1: were going to all of these people and asking them
- 15:14Speaker 1: to help them find it. It felt like there was
- 15:17Speaker 1: a disconnect there, got it? Yeah, that doesn't really make
- 15:20Speaker 1: a lot of sense, does it? Like why are they
- 15:23Speaker 1: going to all of these people who have connections to
- 15:27Speaker 1: the story and they were like do you know where
- 15:29Speaker 1: it is? Did you? If they don't know where it is,
- 15:31Speaker 1: then Colin doesn't know where it is.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, are you wondering why you are asking that?
- 15:38Speaker 2: Like why didn't she like get their center about like, well,
- 15:41Speaker 2: if Colin, if all these other people don't know, why
- 15:43Speaker 2: would Colin know?
- 15:44Speaker 1: How could Colin? And he's like poring over this notebook
- 15:47Speaker 1: that was given to him with all of this information.
- 15:50Speaker 1: It just it. The two pieces of information were adding
- 15:53Speaker 1: up in my brain. Got it, got it? Got it?
- 15:56Speaker 2: That's your only wish? Yeah, okay, I have a few.
- 15:59Speaker 2: I have a few, but they're they're nothing. I mean, okay,
- 16:01Speaker 2: hear me out. My biggest question was is it far
- 16:08Speaker 2: fetched that a fictional writer wrote a book about a
- 16:13Speaker 2: location he's never been to?
- 16:14Speaker 1: Oh?
- 16:15Speaker 2: That's because the question, because I mean, they're storytellers, right,
- 16:19Speaker 2: Like you have great imaginations, like of course, like you
- 16:22Speaker 2: can write about a magic pearl or whatever whatever it is,
- 16:27Speaker 2: like it you don't have to have actually gone to
- 16:31Speaker 2: the location to and find it, right.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Right, you know? I mean I don't. I don't. I
- 16:36Speaker 1: don't think it's crazy that No, I don't think it's
- 16:39Speaker 1: crazy that he's written about a tropical location that he's
- 16:41Speaker 1: never been to, right, so, especially given that he had
- 16:43Speaker 1: done all the research, right, and it just was so
- 16:45Speaker 1: weird to me, Like her character was like, what do
- 16:47Speaker 1: you mean you've never been here? Like she just gave
- 16:50Speaker 1: him a hard time about it. I don't know, I
- 16:52Speaker 1: just I think she just can't apply head around the
- 16:54Speaker 1: idea that like you're writing these stories and you've never
- 16:57Speaker 1: had any desire to live at yourself. And he's like,
- 17:00Speaker 1: I'm good.
- 17:01Speaker 2: I'm this is why I find him highly relatable, these caricature,
- 17:05Speaker 2: I swear to god.
- 17:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:10Speaker 2: The other thing that I thought this movie, like I
- 17:14Speaker 2: said earlier, like there were some elements of surprise to me,
- 17:17Speaker 2: but overall thought it was pretty predictable, a very typical
- 17:21Speaker 2: twenty eighteen movie for Hallmark, Like it didn't contain anything
- 17:25Speaker 2: that would ruffle anybody's feathers. And if I were to
- 17:30Speaker 2: describe it, I would call it safe.
- 17:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't.
- 17:33Speaker 2: I found it enjoyable, but pretty safe. Pretty safe. Two
- 17:40Speaker 2: more things. The big scene where they fall into the river,
- 17:43Speaker 2: It seems very dangerous to me, and then they like
- 17:46Speaker 2: get out and they're hardly affected.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, it seemed like we should be a little
- 17:51Speaker 1: more worried, like they were being swept away for a
- 17:53Speaker 1: home and there. Yes, I mean this scene I thought
- 17:56Speaker 1: was pretty good. I was like, oh my god.
- 17:57Speaker 2: And then like they just climb out of the water
- 17:59Speaker 2: and they're like moving on with their day.
- 18:01Speaker 1: I'm like, what, why do you think they were gonna
- 18:04Speaker 1: open up that dry bag and the notebook was gonna
- 18:06Speaker 1: have been ruined. Oh I didn't, but that would have
- 18:10Speaker 1: been a good twist. He was here, twisted with this
- 18:13Speaker 1: priceless artifact and he's just opening it up on the
- 18:15Speaker 1: banks of a river. Okay, here's my last thing. Full disclosure.
- 18:22Speaker 1: I did watch this movie with a tiny hesitation about
- 18:26Speaker 1: Joe Wagner.
- 18:27Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I'm hoping I can.
- 18:31Speaker 1: I'm hoping I can put that aside for our summer plans. Yeah,
- 18:36Speaker 1: we're gonna have to. Uh huh.
- 18:38Speaker 2: I I she's a fine actress. Like, I enjoyed the movie,
- 18:45Speaker 2: but I can't help but like have this like, yeah,
- 18:50Speaker 2: I hear you.
- 18:51Speaker 1: It's hard to let that stuff go. Yeah, and that's all.
- 18:54Speaker 1: That's all my wishes. All right, let's talk. Did you
- 18:56Speaker 1: see that? Okay? I have one true did you see that?
- 19:00Speaker 1: And to just like comments, Okay, when I like to
- 19:03Speaker 1: comment on her desktop of her computer and how her
- 19:07Speaker 1: images are just strewn all over it, I can relate, girl,
- 19:11Speaker 1: that is me. I just like dump stuff there, and
- 19:14Speaker 1: then eventually I do that exact same thing, just select
- 19:17Speaker 1: them all and drop them into their own little older
- 19:20Speaker 1: And that's another day's problem. Also related to that, though
- 19:25Speaker 1: her desk is covered in camera equipment, And I just
- 19:28Speaker 1: don't believe that in this busy, open office she's gonna
- 19:31Speaker 1: have all these expensive lenses and cameras just laying all
- 19:34Speaker 1: over her desk. Even even as free spirited as she is,
- 19:39Speaker 1: I think she would take care of her equipment. Mmmm,
- 19:43Speaker 1: like it was covered, like there was just like lenses
- 19:45Speaker 1: and cameras and all these was like, come on, you're
- 19:47Speaker 1: gonna even I'm gonna put that stuff in a bag.
- 19:48Speaker 1: I'm not gonna leave it all laying over my desk. Yeah.
- 19:52Speaker 2: I wonder if that was to like characterize her ass
- 19:56Speaker 2: free spirited one hundred.
- 19:58Speaker 1: Percent, Yeah, one hundred percent. Finally, damn it, Finally, my
- 20:03Speaker 1: true did to see that they take a selfie in
- 20:05Speaker 1: front of the waterfall? Is this in your digite that
- 20:08Speaker 1: because it's not in the selfie bo she's holding her
- 20:12Speaker 1: camera with both arms. They're both extended. In the actual photo,
- 20:16Speaker 1: they're just like standing next to her. One arm is
- 20:18Speaker 1: down Like it's the same photo. I love it, can't
- 20:22Speaker 1: you can't even really see the other arm that's reaching out.
- 20:25Speaker 1: So I just thought, make it, make make it look
- 20:30Speaker 1: like the actual picture. Yeah, that is always like a
- 20:35Speaker 1: one that trips us up. Yeah, I can't. I know,
- 20:41Speaker 1: it's so silly, but it's I mean, maybe in twenty eighteen,
- 20:48Speaker 1: it is a little hard to take a selfie with
- 20:49Speaker 1: a camera like that one hundred percent.
- 20:52Speaker 2: And there was another movie we just talked about it too.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Oh it was an unexpected Valentine. They took a picture
- 20:57Speaker 2: with this big ass professional camera.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Oh, and it would have been like up their noses. Yes, yes, yes,
- 21:04Speaker 1: all right, tell me your digit.
- 21:05Speaker 2: That's okay, I just have to And I say the
- 21:09Speaker 2: following as someone who says a lot of shit incorrectly.
- 21:13Speaker 2: All right, there is the scene where they're out on
- 21:17Speaker 2: the hike and Alex's camera gets muddy and the girl's like,
- 21:21Speaker 2: oh my god, I'm so sorry, like whatever, right, and
- 21:24Speaker 2: Alex says the line, actually, I don't think it's broke.
- 21:29Speaker 2: The word should be broken. It just bothered me so much.
- 21:35Speaker 2: I was like, I am not a grammar nerd by
- 21:38Speaker 2: any means. You guys hear me talk on this podcast.
- 21:41Speaker 2: I say a lot of stuff wrong, but I don't
- 21:43Speaker 2: know why that stuck out to me so hardcore.
- 21:45Speaker 1: Yeah, conjugate rub correctly, Joe Wagner.
- 21:49Speaker 2: Okay, And then my other digite that is a reviewer
- 21:57Speaker 2: on IMDb wrote in their review, it says, quote copycat
- 22:04Speaker 2: ending was too obviously close to another great classic romantic comedy,
- 22:09Speaker 2: but then never said what that romantic comedy was.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Do you know? No, I have no idea. I have
- 22:15Speaker 1: no idea either. I need somebody to weigh in. Email
- 22:18Speaker 1: us Girls Gone Homework at gmail dot com. Yeah, what
- 22:22Speaker 1: did you rate Pearl in Paradise? I gave it three
- 22:24Speaker 1: and a half stars, as did I, all right, which
