Jury Finds Arredondo-Garcia Guilty in Fatal Carjacking Spree | Sacramento News
A jury convicted Jonathan Arredondo-Garcia of two counts of first-degree murder with special circumstances in a shocking January 2023 crime spree that ended in multiple deaths and a high-speed chase. Armed with a knife, he broke into a garage, stole a car, and later crashed into another vehicle, killing two people including 49-year-old Stephanie Phan. He also attempted to carjack another driver before being subdued by bystanders. Now facing life without parole, his sentencing is scheduled for September 11.
