- 1:19Speaker 2: Megan just told me she let in like five people today.
- 1:22Speaker 4: Yeah, popping over there. Well, Hey, I love it.
- 1:25Speaker 2: I like to go in there on the weekends when
- 1:28Speaker 2: we haven't reviewed a movie yet, people are just chatting
- 1:30Speaker 2: it up.
- 1:32Speaker 4: Yes, especially the past couple of weekends, because there's been
- 1:34Speaker 4: multiple movies and we are not watching both of them.
- 1:37Speaker 4: And then get the conversation going. I love it, and
- 1:39Speaker 4: then it makes me want to watch these movies that
- 1:41Speaker 4: we skipped.
- 1:41Speaker 2: I agree.
- 1:42Speaker 4: It's a great group. Join us there are we ready
- 1:44Speaker 4: to jump right into my best friend's bouquet? Sure that's
- 1:47Speaker 4: your synopsis.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Josie believes the wedding bouquet finds the one who's next
- 1:52Speaker 2: to Mary and is shocked to catch it at her
- 1:54Speaker 2: friend's reception. When she starts dating a fellow guest, her
- 1:58Speaker 2: belief keeps her from realizing the right man has been
- 2:01Speaker 2: there all along.
- 2:04Speaker 4: This movie was filmed in Harrison's Hot Springs and Augusty's
- 2:08Speaker 4: British Columbia. And this might be the most beautiful filming
- 2:11Speaker 4: location Hallmark has ever used.
- 2:13Speaker 2: I agree, and that is in my liked category.
- 2:17Speaker 4: We'll say, I won't say anymore. It was supposed to
- 2:19Speaker 4: be organ, so yeah, it gave me those organ vibes. Absolutely,
- 2:24Speaker 4: I was like, can I live here? It was beautiful?
- 2:28Speaker 2: Maybe Boto you guys.
- 2:29Speaker 4: Cute little small town. I just loved it, which the
- 2:32Speaker 4: beautiful park areas. Would you ever move to Canada? I
- 2:34Speaker 4: don't see why not.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Yeah, me neither.
- 2:37Speaker 4: I don't know if they'll have us.
- 2:38Speaker 2: They're like yikes. Rose plays Josie. She has nineteen only
- 2:43Speaker 2: nineteen acting credits, including a long running role on the
- 2:46Speaker 2: series Nashville and one previous Hallmark movie called a Christmas Duet.
- 2:51Speaker 4: This was filmed under the terrible working title Never Brides. Ooh,
- 2:56Speaker 4: that's a Nathan Witt plays Alex. Nathan has sixty nine
- 2:59Speaker 4: acting credits, including Hamewark movies, Must Love Christmas, Romance to
- 3:03Speaker 4: the Rescue, Cut Color Murder, Marry Little Christmas, and Merry
- 3:08Speaker 4: Little Christmas Baby. I think we've seen Romance to the Rescue, right, Yes,
- 3:15Speaker 4: I am, but I don't he did not star in
- 3:17Speaker 4: that movie.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:18Speaker 4: Rebecca Olsen plays Athena, and she has twenty acting credits,
- 3:21Speaker 4: but this she has never starred in a Hallmark movie.
- 3:25Speaker 2: She has great hair, yeah, and is super cute. Yeah.
- 3:28Speaker 2: When I looked up her acting credits too, I was like,
- 3:31Speaker 2: why it should not have been in anything else? I
- 3:32Speaker 2: actually thought she was really good in this me too,
- 3:35Speaker 2: Brittany Brown. Nope, Brittini Brown and Jenna I think it's Brittany,
- 3:41Speaker 2: is it?
- 3:42Speaker 4: I think it's fancy Brittany, but weighan.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Well, can I just say there is a Bravo show
- 3:49Speaker 2: called Below Deck and there was a girl named Brittini. Oh,
- 3:53Speaker 2: so I was like, it's it's not totally unheard of,
- 3:57Speaker 2: but anyway, she and Jenna Paul Merrow Palermo. Palermo still
- 4:03Speaker 2: hung up on those comments. They get the story credit
- 4:05Speaker 2: for this movie. While Elizabeth Hackett and Hillary Gallinoi wrote
- 4:10Speaker 2: the screenplay. The writers have a handful of credits between
- 4:14Speaker 2: them and no other Hallmark movie credits.
- 4:17Speaker 4: Was it an acquisition? I don't know. Pop into the
- 4:19Speaker 4: Facebook group Girls Gone Hallmark and let us know if
- 4:21Speaker 4: you know if this movie was an acquisition. This movie
- 4:24Speaker 4: was directed by Jessica Harmon, an actress turned director who
- 4:27Speaker 4: has seventeen directing credits, which includes the twenty twenty three
- 4:31Speaker 4: Hallmark movie Dury Moms. Adil Zady plays Lenn Melcher. I
- 4:35Speaker 4: dropped this in here because he was recently in Hearts
- 4:38Speaker 4: in the Game and he's played like the agent in
- 4:40Speaker 4: that Alay. Yeah, he's just that like off screen phone
- 4:44Speaker 4: call dude. I like him a lot though. I think
- 4:47Speaker 4: he's real handsome.
- 4:49Speaker 2: I believe he was just in that Ryan Paidy movie
- 4:51Speaker 2: where he was the football player and he was like
- 4:54Speaker 2: a sportscaster. Yeah, he's like.
- 4:57Speaker 4: One of those ones.
- 4:57Speaker 2: And I'm like Justice four. I mean, I think he's
- 5:01Speaker 2: real handsome. He only gets like four or five lines of.
- 5:04Speaker 4: Movie, but like take him out of the box night
- 5:07Speaker 4: quick break to let our listeners know that if you
- 5:09Speaker 4: want more from us, you can always find us in
- 5:11Speaker 4: two other places. When we have a brand new podcast
- 5:13Speaker 4: called Approved, there's only a handful episodes out at this point.

- 5:42Speaker 4: It's a wild ride, including a Facebook a deep dive.
- 5:46Speaker 4: You should give it a listen. You can get a
- 5:48Speaker 4: free seven day trial at patreon dot com. Slash Megan
- 5:51Speaker 4: and Wendy, And now it's time for first impressions.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Do you want to go first?
- 5:55Speaker 4: Sure? Why are we pretending like this bouquet idea is novel?
- 6:01Speaker 2: I think that's what every you catch the bouquet, you're
- 6:04Speaker 2: the next one to get married. That is lore that
- 6:07Speaker 2: I've grown up with.
- 6:09Speaker 4: Yeah, and I feel like it could have been easily
- 6:11Speaker 4: self corrected, like they act in like we have this lore,
- 6:15Speaker 4: like the lore of the bouquet. They didn't need to
- 6:17Speaker 4: act like this was unique to their family encircle of
- 6:21Speaker 4: front I agree, I agree. Okay.
- 6:23Speaker 2: My first impression is I need someone to tell me
- 6:26Speaker 2: why this is someone's favorite movie, because I don't get it.
- 6:30Speaker 2: How did this make a fan favorite list?
- 6:33Speaker 1: Oh?
- 6:33Speaker 3: I really liked it.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Oh girl, we're gonna have wants to talk about Wow, Well,
- 6:39Speaker 2: let's talk about what we liked first of all? Can
- 6:41Speaker 2: I just say this is so funny these fall movies.
- 6:44Speaker 2: You and I have ended up on complete opposite ends
- 6:47Speaker 2: of the spectrumen almost every single movie. Yes, that hardly happens. Yes,
- 6:51Speaker 2: oh right, I only have two things I liked about
- 6:54Speaker 2: this movie. So I'm gonna let you go first. I
- 6:56Speaker 2: don't want to take yours, so go ahead. The cast
- 6:58Speaker 2: was very pretty. I agree.
- 7:00Speaker 4: I even have a note about the hair. Chayley Ross
- 7:03Speaker 4: and so cute Rebecca Olsen both have great, great hair.
- 7:06Speaker 4: Absolutely agree. I thought they were very pretty to look at,
- 7:10Speaker 4: and I thought the gorgeous natural setting there were so
- 7:13Speaker 4: many beautiful trees it was all nice to look at.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Yes, that's it, No, I have one more. I liked
- 7:20Speaker 2: Nathan Witt a lot too, for someone who has so
- 7:23Speaker 2: many acting credits and has been in so many movies
- 7:26Speaker 2: just I've never seen. Yeah, I enjoyed him quite a bit. Unfortunately,
- 7:32Speaker 2: I thought he and his co star though, lacked chemistry.
- 7:36Speaker 2: And I will talk more about that in a minute.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Oh no, all right, Well here's what I liked.
- 7:40Speaker 4: I thought some of the writing was great in this movie.
- 7:44Speaker 4: I loved lines like I'd ask you to dance, but
- 7:47Speaker 4: I'm trying to impress you. Oh that's a great line.
- 7:50Speaker 4: There's a moment where Alex says it's a surprise, and
- 7:56Speaker 4: she says what is it? And he goes, do you
- 7:57Speaker 4: not know how surprises work? I liked their banter. I
- 8:00Speaker 4: liked the writing in this movie. I really enjoyed the
- 8:04Speaker 4: wedding dress try on scene that was good. That really
- 8:08Speaker 4: did it for me. I liked the movies in the
- 8:11Speaker 4: park moment that.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Was cute too.
- 8:14Speaker 4: I found this quite pleasant to watch. Also, the house
- 8:19Speaker 4: of that first couple, I was like, please explain to
- 8:22Speaker 4: me how she's able to just quit her job in
- 8:24Speaker 4: banking and live in this gorgeous house. Like, did she
- 8:28Speaker 4: quit because she was getting married? I don't know, but
- 8:31Speaker 4: that house was gorgeous. I know, with that outdoor fireplace
- 8:34Speaker 4: seating area.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Super unrealistic for like young twenty year olds.
- 8:39Speaker 4: I mean, she had left banking, so maybe she had
- 8:41Speaker 4: just kind of out. Did she have investment banking? I
- 8:45Speaker 4: don't think she was a teller because she talked about
- 8:49Speaker 4: how she was so overworked. All right, let's talk about
- 8:52Speaker 4: what she wished for.
- 8:53Speaker 2: With the exception of saying it was fall, this was
- 8:57Speaker 2: not a fall movie. There was nothing in it that
- 9:01Speaker 2: was fall in comparison to all the other movies we've
- 9:04Speaker 2: watched in this fall like library of movies. Yes, I agree.
- 9:10Speaker 2: This was just like, oh, it's fall time, have a
- 9:14Speaker 2: hot apple side and that's it.
- 9:15Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, and I don't do you. I don't
- 9:19Speaker 4: want a hot apple cider with my popcorn at the movies.
- 9:21Speaker 2: No, that sounds gross speaking of good lines, It just
- 9:26Speaker 2: this just triggered it. They were eating popcorn and she goes, this,
- 9:29Speaker 2: popcorn needs m and m's, And I was like, you know,
- 9:31Speaker 2: what is so funny is that a friend taught me
- 9:34Speaker 2: that a long time ago, to like dump peanut and
- 9:36Speaker 2: mms and hot popcorn. Yes, And it like blew my mind.
- 9:41Speaker 2: It's like so good. I thought like this was my
- 9:43Speaker 2: own little secret. I didn't know like everybody did it.
- 9:46Speaker 4: I only recently discovered it in the past couple of years.
- 9:48Speaker 4: I used peanut butter Eminem's Delicious to level up.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Okay, this is where.
- 9:57Speaker 4: Don't come for me.
- 9:58Speaker 2: The pacing in the this movie was excruciatingly slow for me. Okay,
- 10:06Speaker 2: I was like, let's move it on right.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:10Speaker 2: But here's while I say. I like the writing too.
- 10:14Speaker 2: The dialogue between every actor lacked passion, like there was
- 10:19Speaker 2: no chemistry between any of the actors. And I thought like,
- 10:23Speaker 2: not even like not passionate chemistry, but like.
- 10:26Speaker 4: Best friend chemistry. No.
- 10:28Speaker 2: None. And let me give you an example. When they're
- 10:31Speaker 2: at the beginning of the movie and they're like sitting
- 10:32Speaker 2: around the table eating brunch and they're just they're talking
- 10:36Speaker 2: about love and they're talking about the bauquet story and
- 10:40Speaker 2: like all this stuff right, a group of friends that
- 10:44Speaker 2: have known each other so closely, like since college. They
- 10:46Speaker 2: would be like talking over each other and talking quickly
- 10:49Speaker 2: and like laughing, and it was just like and then
- 10:52Speaker 2: no no, no, no no, and then so do you no,
- 10:54Speaker 2: no no no. It was just like very stilted. Yes.
- 10:59Speaker 4: It made it hard to watch for me. I hated
- 11:02Speaker 4: the moment when hated.
- 11:04Speaker 2: I hated.
- 11:05Speaker 4: Athena and Josie are talking and Athena has just gotten
- 11:09Speaker 4: engaged and Josie had caught the bouquet and she was like, oh,
- 11:12Speaker 4: I ruined it. And Josie was like, you know, I'm
- 11:16Speaker 4: kind of relieved that you're engaged now, like because I
- 11:19Speaker 4: felt guilty about catching the bouquet. And Athena goes confession,
- 11:23Speaker 4: I am relieved too. That is a terrible friend. That
- 11:27Speaker 4: is a terrible, terrible friend. The order in which you
- 11:30Speaker 4: and your friends get engaged and married, Like, it's not
- 11:33Speaker 4: a race.
- 11:35Speaker 2: First of all, your friend caught a bouquet, though it
- 11:37Speaker 2: feels like it when you're twenty ish, Okay, But.
- 11:40Speaker 4: If I were to look back in my mid twenties and.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Be like, thank god I got engaged before you did.
- 11:47Speaker 4: I would feel horrible for saying something like that.
- 11:49Speaker 2: I would never say it out that out loud. I
- 11:52Speaker 2: may think it.
- 11:53Speaker 4: I understand the feeling that it's a race. I definitely
- 11:56Speaker 4: was there. Like I got married when I was twenty five.
- 11:59Speaker 4: I was young to me too, and I had several
- 12:01Speaker 4: friends that were already married I mean me too. We
- 12:03Speaker 4: went to a lot of weddings in that span of time.
- 12:06Speaker 4: Just the idea of saying it out loud that like, oh,
- 12:08Speaker 4: I deserve to get married first because I've in this
- 12:11Speaker 4: been in this relationship longer than you have belt gross
- 12:14Speaker 4: to me, don't you I one hundred percent agree with that.
- 12:17Speaker 2: But don't you think like that relationship was weird too,
- 12:20Speaker 2: Athena's relationship with her dude, Like I didn't. I didn't
- 12:25Speaker 2: think Athena was super into it.
- 12:27Speaker 4: I kept wondering if like that was gonna be the
- 12:29Speaker 4: big reveal that she was like, oh, we don't actually
- 12:32Speaker 4: like each other. Yeah, yeah, because the mother in law
- 12:36Speaker 4: apologizes for overstepping, but the fiance doesn't really And he
- 12:41Speaker 4: was the one who needed to be responsible for having
- 12:44Speaker 4: his mom pull back sure, and he should have seen.
- 12:49Speaker 4: I'm sorry. You guys have been together, you're getting married.
- 12:51Speaker 4: You do not know that your fiance doesn't want this
- 12:54Speaker 4: this wedding, right, she doesn't want that kind of dress.
- 12:57Speaker 1: Right.
- 12:57Speaker 4: You needed to do a better job of being her
- 13:01Speaker 4: person and running interference before the mom's like, oh shit,
- 13:05Speaker 4: I'm ruining everything. Now I have to go apologize and
- 13:08Speaker 4: take it all back.
- 13:09Speaker 2: The lady steps up at their engagement party to give
- 13:13Speaker 2: the speech and he just hands over the microphone.
- 13:16Speaker 3: Crazy to me.
- 13:16Speaker 2: It's so crazy to me. I mean, I'll probably be
- 13:19Speaker 2: that mom too, But.
- 13:20Speaker 4: No, you won't be, because you won't be the look.
- 13:25Speaker 4: Overbearing in laws are hard, And I would suggest that
- 13:28Speaker 4: if you're in a relationship and not married and it's
- 13:30Speaker 4: already bad, it's not going to get better on its own.
- 13:35Speaker 4: And I would suggest to anybody that you have that
- 13:38Speaker 4: conversation with your partner if you feel like their parent
- 13:42Speaker 4: runs your life. Hmmm, have that conversation. Mmm, that's my suggestion.
- 13:46Speaker 4: That's a hard conversation. What else did you wish for?
- 13:49Speaker 4: I said that Josie is too smart to be blinded
- 13:52Speaker 4: by the bouquet. At one point, she's talking to Alex,
- 13:55Speaker 4: and she mentions like, oh, Alex wants to get married too,
- 13:59Speaker 4: or other dude Will wants to get married too. And
- 14:03Speaker 4: he's like, are you guys talking. She's like, oh no, no,
- 14:05Speaker 4: it's too soon for that. She's like, but he checks
- 14:08Speaker 4: all the boxes. I don't. I don't know why we wouldn't.
- 14:11Speaker 4: He doesn't check any of the boxes. Yeah, he's handsome
- 14:14Speaker 4: and he's employed, but he ignores you on every single
- 14:18Speaker 4: date you have. On your first date, he blew off
- 14:20Speaker 4: your dinner plans because he was stuck at work.
- 14:22Speaker 2: Come on, he checks no boxes.
- 14:25Speaker 4: He does get points for when she ends things, She's like,
- 14:29Speaker 4: I understand that this is going to change our business
- 14:31Speaker 4: relationship and he's like, no, your business got that on?
- 14:35Speaker 2: Merit that right?
- 14:36Speaker 4: Nice?
- 14:37Speaker 2: He's not a villain. Did you have anything else?
- 14:39Speaker 1: You wi?
- 14:39Speaker 2: The final thing? And it's a lot of wishes for
- 14:41Speaker 2: somebody who.
- 14:42Speaker 4: Liked this movie. It's just too The misunderstanding for me
- 14:48Speaker 4: was carried out for too long. There's like too much
- 14:50Speaker 4: not communicating. This person is your best friend, but you're
- 14:53Speaker 4: not sharing this huge, potential life changing.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Job with already if he was even considering pursuing it,
- 15:02Speaker 2: don't you think so.
- 15:03Speaker 4: Yes, and there's too much of the like I feel
- 15:10Speaker 4: like we really they both have feelings for each other,
- 15:12Speaker 4: but they're both kind of like hiding in these other
- 15:14Speaker 4: relationships and they're like realizing at opposite times they have
- 15:17Speaker 4: feelings for each other. But at no point are they
- 15:19Speaker 4: even like tossing feelers out there. They're just like pushing
- 15:23Speaker 4: the other person into these other relationship. I get not
- 15:28Speaker 4: wanting to like ruin the friendship, but.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Okay, did you have any did you see that?
- 15:36Speaker 4: I do?
- 15:37Speaker 2: I have two?
- 15:38Speaker 4: Okay.
- 15:39Speaker 2: The timing in this movie is a little unclear to
- 15:45Speaker 2: me because they Josie had the bouquet that she caught
- 15:49Speaker 2: like in a vase on her countertop for what seemed
- 15:54Speaker 2: like weeks. Oh she was like cursing it like oh again,
- 15:58Speaker 2: like isn't nothing dead by now? Okay, well can we
- 16:01Speaker 2: talk about that boquet?
- 16:02Speaker 4: Because she brings makes it and brings it to the brunch,
- 16:06Speaker 4: which is apparently like a full week before the wedding,
- 16:09Speaker 4: because at that brunch they're like, don't forget to make
- 16:11Speaker 4: a haircut, and he's like, I'm going on Friday, which
- 16:14Speaker 4: leads me to believe this brunch is like the Sunday
- 16:16Speaker 4: before their wedding. Yeah, you've made the bouquet a week before.
- 16:19Speaker 4: It wasn't a sample. It has the lace from her
- 16:21Speaker 4: dress in it.
- 16:23Speaker 2: Are we to believe it was like fake flowers? They
- 16:27Speaker 2: looked very real to me. I was watching very carefully.
- 16:32Speaker 4: It didn't make sense to me.
- 16:35Speaker 1: What did you.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Think about the film? Reel in the bouquet at the end.
- 16:42Speaker 4: Had mixed feelings about it because I think that's a
- 16:44Speaker 4: nice touch, but it's gonna be like uncomfortable to hold.
- 16:47Speaker 2: Uh huh, it's gonna get it all crinkling and be loud.
- 16:49Speaker 2: I'm like, poke into your hands and you hold it wrong? Yeah,
- 16:53Speaker 2: sharp edges right.
- 16:54Speaker 4: Nobody wants a movie real cut at your wedding.
- 16:57Speaker 2: I don't know it's cute, but like agree, like eh.
- 17:02Speaker 4: And those moments felt like your birth flower. Oh and
- 17:06Speaker 4: that's from your I just I didn't this too much too.
- 17:10Speaker 2: Much for you? Yes, yeah, all right, let me hear
- 17:12Speaker 2: your Did you see that?
- 17:14Speaker 4: Well that one of them was the bouquet. Oh she
- 17:16Speaker 4: made it to early. Yeah. The other is did Athena
- 17:19Speaker 4: not talk like does her fiance not know her at all?
- 17:22Speaker 4: Because she's like, well though Diamond's a nice bad I
- 17:25Speaker 4: would have preferred one of these other stones. Like, dude,
- 17:28Speaker 4: your chick's a geologist. You've it seems reasonable that you've
- 17:31Speaker 4: potentially talked about what type of stone she wants. No,
- 17:35Speaker 4: you guys don't talk at all. It doesn't seem like it.
- 17:38Speaker 2: I don't think we ever see them speak.
- 17:40Speaker 4: And finally, that's a really beautiful office for a struggling nonprofit.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, they had like a really great space.
- 17:48Speaker 4: Right, there's like two of you that worked there. You
- 17:50Speaker 4: would be running that out of your home. Totally, totally.
- 17:53Speaker 4: I had one more did you see that? Okay, While
- 17:56Speaker 4: I loved the scene.
- 17:58Speaker 2: When they were trying on dresses and Josie tries that
- 18:01Speaker 2: dress on, which I thought looked phenomenal on her, she
- 18:04Speaker 2: wears that dress in the end, but they have like
- 18:07Speaker 2: a beaded belt with it and a necklace, and it
- 18:09Speaker 2: was like too much. Like I did not like the
- 18:12Speaker 2: way it was excess her eyes.
- 18:13Speaker 4: Oh, I didn't notice the necklace.
- 18:15Speaker 2: And her hair was really cute, it was all braided
- 18:17Speaker 2: and cute.
- 18:17Speaker 4: I loved her hair.
- 18:19Speaker 2: But I just thought like the necklace and the belt
- 18:20Speaker 2: competed against each other.
- 18:23Speaker 4: Yeah, because that dress was so simple and beautiful because
- 18:25Speaker 4: it was so simple.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Yes, but it had a lot of not detail, but
- 18:28Speaker 2: it had a lot of going on in the bust area.
- 18:31Speaker 4: Like the Folds kind of exactly so leading and I
- 18:34Speaker 4: really would call too much. Yeah, would you rate this
- 18:38Speaker 4: movie two and a half stars?
- 18:39Speaker 2: Oh?
- 18:40Speaker 4: I gave it three and a half.
- 18:40Speaker 2: I did not find it entertaining at all.
