- 0:00Uh.
- 0:03Jasmine oolong, green
- 0:06and white. Long ago, these four
- 0:08teas were skilfully brewed at the Blissful Brew.
- 0:12Then everything changed when the shop's
- 0:14popularity threatened its existence.
- 0:17All Mr. Okeron, the shop's owner and tea
- 0:20master, could do was to recruit four teenage
- 0:23orphans to learn his trade and staff his
- 0:25shop. A year has passed since the orphans were
- 0:28hired, and although their skills have progressed, they
- 0:31still have a lot to learn before they can brew anything.
- 0:34But I believe that they have the potential to make the
- 0:37Blissful Brew the greatest tea shop in the
- 0:39world.
- 0:42And welcome back to another episode of
- 0:44Benders and Brews, the Avatar Legends Real Play
- 0:47podcast, where we really play
- 0:50Avatar Legends play the heck out of
- 0:53it. Um, welcome back to episode
- 0:55two of season two. Really excited to be here,
- 0:58of course, again. Hope you all listen to the prequel
- 1:01episodes as well as the season two,
- 1:04episode zero, and of course episode one. Otherwise you have no idea
- 1:07what is about to happen. So, um,
- 1:10anyways, we're going to jump right into things as
- 1:12we've decided is going to be kind of our pattern for
- 1:15this season. Our little ritual, our tradition,
- 1:18you might say. I'm going to go around the table that's
- 1:21in front of me with all these wonderful players sitting
- 1:24here, uh, and ask each of them to give me an interesting
- 1:27fact about their character. So let's
- 1:30kick things off with, uh, Connor
- 1:33again.
- 1:33Hello. Hey, how you doing?
- 1:36Good, how are you?
- 1:37I'm doing well. No one really asked the DM
- 1:40how.
- 1:40He'S oh, yeah, I wanted to just start off with that.
- 1:43I appreciate. Course. Of course.
- 1:45Uh, so fun fact about Brock Broccoli,
- 1:49uh, at times if he's like just walking around getting
- 1:51feeling bored and he wants know just be a guy
- 1:54throw stuff, what he'll do? He'll spit
- 1:57on the ground to make some mud.
- 2:00He'll earth bend the mud up into his fingers,
- 2:03roll it into a ball and just flick it. And he'll stick
- 2:06to trees.
- 2:09Well, NPCs are going to think twice about shaking
- 2:12Brock's dirty hands from now on.
- 2:15I mean, he washes them when he washes dishes.
- 2:18Oh, that's true.
- 2:21Dishwater is like instantly dirty. Not
- 2:24from the dishes themselves, but just Brock puts his hands in there to
- 2:27clean them and it's like black.
- 2:30Um know it is what it
- 2:33is.
- 2:33Mr. O'Brien's. Like why did I put an earthbender on dish
- 2:36duty? Well, didn't you? You did the
- 2:39rinsing. Michaela right, mika and then and then
- 2:42you just did the drying, which means the dry. You ruined
- 2:45everything at the she cleans it,
- 2:48hands it to you, your dirty hands. And
- 2:50smudged clean washcloth.
- 2:52I mean, no one
- 2:55dies.
- 2:56We're, uh, all like no one gets sick. Mr. Okran, you
- 2:59chose such a strange color for your clean dishes.
- 3:02Brown. Oh,
- 3:05boy. All right, moving on. Dave,
- 3:08tell us something interesting about GuoHan.
- 3:11Well, GuoHan, when he's
- 3:14bored and wants to feel like a man.
- 3:18He enjoys going
- 3:21to
- 3:24romantic, uh, comedies at the theater.
- 3:28Gohan m the live action
- 3:31theater.
- 3:32Yes.
- 3:32Sometimes he just sneaks in. Sometimes he'll pay
- 3:35for the ticket, depending on how much he wants to see
- 3:38the he doesn't if his
- 3:41favorite actor is there. Actress
- 3:43rather, he'll pay to get in.
- 3:45To see, uh, what's his favorite
- 3:48actress's name?
- 3:50Fatima quick.
- 3:52Fatima quick.
- 3:53Wow.
- 3:54All right, I got to write that down. That's going to come into play at some
- 3:57point. Once you guys get back to
- 4:00Galway. Guess who? Fatima quick's. Like,
- 4:02hey, heard about your tea shop.
- 4:06Uh, okay. Bill door or Cameron
- 4:09with playing. Huh. What's? What's?
- 4:12Something interesting.
- 4:16Interesting.
- 4:17So how long has it been
- 4:20since that just
- 4:23happened? Yeah, it's very recent.
- 4:29Uh, in his free time well, prior
- 4:32to everything that's happened, uh, Villa would
- 4:35spend some free time, uh, and he would go
- 4:38out to, uh,
- 4:41the town square, the center,
- 4:44and there was this resting bench
- 4:47area, and bill door
- 4:50would.
- 4:50Go and go sit on it and get resting bench face.
- 4:53Yeah, he'd sit on it,
- 4:56and.
- 4:59He.
- 5:00Would take out his notes, and he would
- 5:03take notes on all the people that would just be passing
- 5:06by, and he would just people watch.
- 5:08Okay.
- 5:09In his free time? Not all the time, but he would just
- 5:12do that occasionally and stuff.
- 5:14Okay.
- 5:14And he found great interest in just watching
- 5:17people's lives go around him and stuff. And
- 5:20mostly he paid attention to the families
- 5:23and see how they interacted and stuff.
- 5:25So maybe like, a sense of almost
- 5:27jealousy.
- 5:29Yeah, that'd be a good word for
- 5:32right.
- 5:33All right, some deep facts coming from bill
- 5:35dore. Uh, Michaela,
- 5:38tell us something interesting about Mika.
- 5:41Well, um,
- 5:44mika and her dad, to pass a time,
- 5:47sometimes they would throw on little
- 5:49skits, um,
- 5:52play, uh, different characters,
- 5:55make believe, I don't know, whatever you want to call it.
- 5:57So every once in a while, she'll pull out her acting
- 6:00skills and do a couple of cons.
- 6:05Um, a couple of what?
- 6:06Cons.
- 6:07Like theft.
- 6:08Like, she'll con people.
- 6:10Okay. All right.
- 6:11I thought you were saying cons. Like romantic comedies. She's
- 6:14throwing a couple of she's throwing on a
- 6:16mask.
- 6:19Yeah.
- 6:20Mika is oh, my gosh. What was her name?
- 6:23Something?
- 6:25Oh, my gosh.
- 6:26It's her, like, alter ego.
- 6:29Oh, my gosh.
- 6:32And within two fun
- 6:35facts, we've created and found,
- 6:37like, a character all at once. How
- 6:40interesting. Uh, I'm Skyler. I'm the
- 6:43DM. Interesting fact
- 6:46about me I once held
- 6:49a cow's head down so that a person
- 6:51could give it a massive needle
- 6:54in its neck. It was not pleasant.
- 6:57Uh, that was a fun fact about me. Awesome.
- 7:00And yeah.
- 7:04No further questions on that. Let's move into the
- 7:07episode.
- 7:12All right, and welcome back to Benderson brews,
- 7:15season two, episode two. The two two.
- 7:18One might say thank you. Yes.
- 7:20An earth spirit.
- 7:21Yes, we got ourselves an earth
- 7:24spirit.
- 7:26Uh.
- 7:30Oh, he's scared.
- 7:34Old Rooney starts making some crazy
- 7:37noises as this giant rock like
- 7:39monster is plowing through this area.
- 7:43Once again, as described
- 7:46on the previous episode, it has, uh, two
- 7:49arms and two legs. Kind of humanoid in shape to some
- 7:52extent, but it's more like just a collection of
- 7:55chunks of rock and boulders all just kind of
- 7:57sticking together by some unknown,
- 8:00mysterious spirit force as it starts
- 8:03to just smash, smash, smash through this
- 8:06construction zone, obviously angry for some
- 8:09reason. And you all stand on a precipice
- 8:12overlooking this scene as these workers
- 8:15are shouting in terror as this monster
- 8:18continues to approach and attack them.
- 8:21We got to help them.
- 8:23Uh, where'd Dilbert go?
- 8:27Uh, were you carrying him?
- 8:32He's in a box.
- 8:33Yeah, he was running ahead.
- 8:35I thought that was a joke. Okay. Yeah.
- 8:39I caught back up to Dilbert, and
- 8:41I sling him on my back like a backpack.
- 8:44He's definitely getting bigger at this point. I
- 8:47imagined him, like, 2ft high, and
- 8:50I feel like at this point, he's gotten to, like, a
- 8:523ft squid
- 8:54span.
- 8:56He's a growing boy.
- 8:57He's a growing boy.
- 8:59Uh, I'll hop down and try and help the
- 9:02construction workers.
- 9:03All right, sounds good.
- 9:06Is anyone else going down to help them, or are you guys going to continue
- 9:09to observe? Because evadem
- 9:12observe is an option.
- 9:15That's not Brock's style. Brock's not an
- 9:17observe type of guy.
- 9:19Um, so something that I was kind of reading about, uh, that
- 9:22I kind of want to put out there to you guys before we get
- 9:25too much further. Um, your balance,
- 9:29if you can make the argument for it,
- 9:31whatever direction your balance is leaning,
- 9:34you could theoretically use that
- 9:37instead of what you would normally roll to do
- 9:40something as long as it fits
- 9:42with that balance. So, for instance,
- 9:45um, Connor yours,
- 9:48and I don't know if you guys would necessarily know this about him, so just
- 9:51keep that in mind going forward. You might have to try to
- 9:54test his balance. You might have to try to figure it out or whatever the
- 9:57case. Uh, but yours is force and care. So
- 10:00if your balance was towards force,
- 10:03you would have that plus one. Minus one. So that plus
- 10:05one is to say if you were to do an action
- 10:08that would insinuate
- 10:11force, you would gain a plus one on your dice
- 10:13rolls. And then if you were doing something that
- 10:16insinuated care, you'd have a minus one and then vice
- 10:19versa if it was moving towards care. Um,
- 10:22so just keep that in mind moving
- 10:25forward. If you can make the argument for it
- 10:28and say the stat that you would normally roll
- 10:30has, like, a zero or a minus to it or whatever the
- 10:33case, if you're doing something that
- 10:36fits the narrative for that side
- 10:39of your balance track, you could use that instead
- 10:41to roll. So just something that I kind of was reading about today.
- 10:45Okay. But anyways all right, sorry. So
- 10:47you guys are all kind of up there observing the situation.
- 10:51Connor, you're leaping down or sorry, Broccoli is
- 10:54leaping down to assist in these workers.
- 10:56Uh, I'm going to call this an exchange as
- 10:59this monster is kind of attacking. Unless you would want to do something
- 11:02outside of it. I guess technically you're not directly within
- 11:05an exchange of it at the moment. It's still attacking the
- 11:08workers. So I guess if you wanted to do something else,
- 11:13you're not engaging with it just yet.
- 11:16So do you want to do something as the initial engagement before
- 11:19we go into kind of like a combat exchange?
- 11:26You don't even have to find a staff for it if there's just something
- 11:29specific that you want to try to do, and then I'll find the staff for
- 11:32it or whatever.
- 11:33Um, let's see.
- 11:37I mean, I just said he doesn't evade and observe, so
- 11:40I can't double back on
- 11:43that.
- 11:45I'd say you could still evade and observe. I mean, like I said, you haven't
- 11:48engaged with it yet, so you don't even have to choose a
- 11:50combat approach per se.
- 11:52Okay.
- 11:53You could just do anything right now, I
- 11:55guess, because you just leaped down. You're in the scene, you're
- 11:58standing there. Some of the dust, uh,
- 12:01cloud has kind of, like, overtaken you. You cough a little bit as you
- 12:04wave a little bit out of your face. But, um, it's definitely
- 12:07getting stirred up from this whole situation that's
- 12:10going on. Okay.
- 12:12So I guess as I get down there, I'll try and
- 12:15help as many of the people that the Earth
- 12:18spirit is not attacking, help them to just get out of the
- 12:21way, get to some sort of safe area. Sure.
- 12:24Yeah, absolutely.
- 12:24There's definitely plenty of them that have been injured, um,
- 12:28and you kind of help pull them
- 12:31out of there or whatever the case. Um, I would argue
- 12:33honestly that doing this would actually
- 12:36move your balance towards care,
- 12:40um, because rather than
- 12:42engaging since yours is force and care, rather than engaging
- 12:45with just, like, jumping in and starting bashing with this
- 12:48monster, you're trying to get people out of the situation.
- 12:51And so, um, I would definitely say
- 12:53that applies. Is anybody else, as you
- 12:56guys are watching this happen, anybody else doing anything?
- 12:59I'm just watching.
- 13:01Okay. Nick is just watching. Bill's just watching.
- 13:04Same here.
- 13:04All right.
- 13:05Um, Guohan's going to just
- 13:08move to safe cover,
- 13:10make sure there's nothing above him that's going to
- 13:14ruin him.
- 13:15Okay. Rooney is just
- 13:18standing over you and his outward
- 13:21section, half of his body just hangs over you're like, oh, it
- 13:24got shady right here as you look up and
- 13:27he's, like, smiling over you. No, um, but okay. Yeah, I mean,
- 13:30you guys are on the kind of top section of this
- 13:33overlook, so there's definitely nothing, like, above you as far as the
- 13:36mountain goes or anything. Um, you're kind of the
- 13:39ones looking down on this whole scene.
- 13:41Perfect.
- 13:42Yeah. All right.
- 13:44Perfect. Um, so back over to Connor. Connor, you've
- 13:47pulled some people out of the way, um, gotten them kind of a safe
- 13:50distance away. There's still maybe, like, three workers that
- 13:53are battling this thing actively. Uh, they're
- 13:56not currently injured, but they're obviously in
- 13:59the fight. What would you like to do next?
- 14:02So it's just me.
- 14:04Just you down there?
- 14:07Well, and the three workers.
- 14:09I guess I'd have to just go and help the three workers
- 14:12as well.
- 14:12All right.
- 14:13I mean, I can't just leave them hanging.
- 14:14Are you doing anything specific, or are you just kind of rushing into
- 14:18the fight?
- 14:19I'll start with, uh, seize a position
- 14:22on the defendant maneuver.
- 14:24Okay.
- 14:24To move to a new location. I guess I would
- 14:27engage with the foe.
- 14:28Um.
- 14:30Uh, any foe engaged with me. Marks Kim
- 14:33mark one fatigue to block this, but I don't know
- 14:36why.
- 14:37Right. No. Yeah. Okay. So
- 14:39you're rushing in, and then you're going to choose defend a maneuver. So you'll
- 14:42be rolling for that to.
- 14:44Establish an advantageous position.
- 14:47Yes. And you'll be rolling with focus.
- 14:50Rolling with focus.
- 14:52Okay.
- 14:55Seven.
- 14:55Seven. All right, cool. So, uh, with a seven, you're
- 14:58able to choose
- 15:01one basic or master technique. Um,
- 15:04so you were doing defendant maneuver, and you were going to do Caesar
- 15:07position. Uh, so you're going to rush in. You're going
- 15:10to establish this advantageous position.
- 15:13Um, it will not mark one fatigue
- 15:16because you're kind of like a new person just running into this. Do you have
- 15:19a specific spot that you want to kind of set up at,
- 15:22um, for whatever your next move might be?
- 15:24Are there any particular weak points that I am able
- 15:27to see, or is there anything
- 15:31or is that something that I'm not allowed to just sort of learn from you?
- 15:34I sort of watch them. Um, yeah, I was going
- 15:37to say this sounds definitely like it'd be,
- 15:40um, assess the situation.
- 15:42Assess the situation.
- 15:43Yeah.
- 15:43Oh, I probably should have done that first.
- 15:45No, it's all good. I mean, you've established yourself at
- 15:48kind of an advantageous situation,
- 15:51and you can jump in and out of, like,
- 15:53combat exchanges. Since all he would have done
- 15:56is probably he's, uh, continuing
- 15:59to smash. So he's just smashing the
- 16:02ground around him, trying to hit the people,
- 16:05um, but kind of almost doing so blindly. So I
- 16:08wouldn't necessarily call it a strike at the moment.
- 16:11Um, he's mostly just swinging wildly and destroying the
- 16:14area around him.
- 16:15Okay, so then I will roll to assess the situation.
- 16:18Okay.
- 16:18Go for learn any weaknesses? I roll with creativity.
- 16:21Yes.
- 16:22Uh, twelve.
- 16:23Wow.
- 16:24Okay. So on a twelve, you can ask
- 16:27two of the various questions that are listed there. Uh,
- 16:30what here can I use to blink? Who or what is the biggest
- 16:32threat? What should I be on the lookout
- 16:35for? What is my best way out in or through or who
- 16:38or what is in the greatest danger.
- 16:40All right, so I will ask what is my best way
- 16:43in? As in, like, into this fight square?
- 16:45Yeah.
- 16:47Um, the creature
- 16:50definitely seems to be
- 16:53focused on the
- 16:55things, so you can kind of tell there's,
- 16:58like, a direction to its movements. So
- 17:01that suggests that it has a front, and that's where it's attacking
- 17:04at. Um, and it has a back, and it doesn't
- 17:07seem to be aware. Even though it doesn't have, like, a head and
- 17:10eyes, it doesn't seem to be aware of what's behind it.
- 17:13So if you were able to get behind it, you'd probably
- 17:16be in a better position, um,
- 17:18to do some kind of attack without it being able to retaliate
- 17:21as well. Okay.
- 17:22Yeah, I guess. What can I use to inflict the most
- 17:25damage?
- 17:26Okay, um, something about that
- 17:29gem that's sitting kind of almost on top of where
- 17:32its head would be seems significant
- 17:34to you? Um, the fact that
- 17:37it's so contrasted and so different from the rest of its
- 17:40just rock body, it really feels like that
- 17:43holds some sort of significance over
- 17:46this creature or spirit or whatever it seems to
- 17:48be.
- 17:49Okay, so do I have to
- 17:52reroll to move to the advantageous position?
- 17:54I would say that you assessed this
- 17:56as you were running and, um, got behind it as
- 17:59you noticed that. Oh, it's got kind of like a weak spot, per
- 18:02se. And there's definitely plenty of outcropping
- 18:05rocks and such that you could have hid behind to get back
- 18:08there.
- 18:09Okay, so how big is this thing?
- 18:11Oh, man, I mean, it's a good, like, 10ft
- 18:14tall.
- 18:14Okay, so what I'm going to try and do is I'm going to try and
- 18:17climb up some piles of rocks behind it.
- 18:20I'm going to try and jump on top of it, and,
- 18:23uh, I will try and strike
- 18:26the gem, and I will try and dislodge
- 18:29it.
- 18:29Okay. Um, I'm almost
- 18:32wondering if that might be two separate moves. So you would do
- 18:35one to seize another position, and then that would
- 18:38get you on top of it, and then you could do strike afterwards, or at
- 18:41least attempt to do strike afterwards.
- 18:43Okay, so roll for seized
- 18:45position.
- 18:48Ten.
- 18:49Wow. Okay, so with a ten hot
- 18:51rolls.
- 18:54You'Re doing the math wrong.
- 18:55Uh, you can mark one fatigue to use a learn
- 18:58technique. You can use one practice technique, or you can use two
- 19:01basic or master techniques. So since you
- 19:04chose defend a maneuver, you have the option to do two
- 19:07different, uh, uh, options within
- 19:10that, I suppose.
- 19:11So I will seize position.
- 19:12Okay. Yes. So you use that to get yourself on top
- 19:15of this rock monster. Um, it definitely takes
- 19:18notice that you're there. Like, it can feel you on it. And
- 19:21so it kind of, like, is confused. It's moving around, but
- 19:24you've managed to land on it in such a way that you get a nice, stable
- 19:27position. It's a big creature, so it's definitely
- 19:30enough of a platform for you to steady yourself on.
- 19:32Plus the fact that you're an Earthbender, you can kind of
- 19:35probably hold onto rocks a little bit better by using a little bit of Earth
- 19:38bending technique.
- 19:39Yeah. So what kind of
- 19:42statuses would I be able to inflict
- 19:45on this beast?
- 19:48Yeah, so there's a list of negative statuses, um,
- 19:51doomed, impaired, trapped, or
- 19:54stunned.
- 19:54Okay, so then I will
- 19:57use ready okay. Mark one fatigue to ready
- 20:00yourself or your environment, assigning or
- 20:02clearing a fictionally appropriate
- 20:05status of nearby characters.
- 20:09Did you want the positive statuses, too, or are you
- 20:12planning on putting a negative status on this thing?
- 20:15So it's either positive on myself or negative on this. Yeah,
- 20:18I mean, I wouldn't mind making it feel like
- 20:20it's doomed.
- 20:22Okay, so tell me what it is that you do to
- 20:25put it into a doomed situation.
- 20:27So I will get on top of this
- 20:30thing okay. And it's squirming around, trying to
- 20:33shake me off, has no idea
- 20:36what I am, where I am, what I'm trying to do.
- 20:38Right.
- 20:38And I'm just starting to wail away at the
- 20:41gem on top of its head or on top of its
- 20:44body. And I think
- 20:46what would qualify feeling doomed
- 20:49is if it starts to dislodge a bit.
- 20:51Oh, okay. You start to make some progress on
- 20:54pulling this gem out.
- 20:55Starts to make a bit of progress.
- 20:57Yeah, no, definitely. Okay, so it is, uh,
- 21:00under a sense of doom. Uh, doomed, basically, is
- 21:03saying that, uh, you're in
- 21:06grave danger. You mark one fatigue every few seconds in
- 21:09each exchange until you free yourself. So
- 21:11as you are pulling away at this
- 21:14gem on top of where its head would be, it's
- 21:17panicking, presumably. I mean, it's a rock, so
- 21:20it's kind of hard to tell, but you can get but by its flailing and stuff, you can
- 21:22tell that it's freaking out, it's nervous, and it's
- 21:25becoming less and less, you could
- 21:28almost say connected. You're actually watching as you're slowly
- 21:31pulling this gem out, you can see some of
- 21:34the chunks of rock actually falling from its
- 21:36body as it seems to be, uh, sort
- 21:39of losing its, let's call it,
- 21:42wholeness, per se. Um, so you've definitely
- 21:45got it doomed, per se. If it wasn't able to do
- 21:48anything against you to stop you, then it might
- 21:51fall apart entirely. Okay.
- 21:53Sounds like good for me.
- 21:56Awesome.
- 21:57Um, so do I get another turn,
- 22:00or is it the rock monster's turn?
- 22:02Uh, he would have
- 22:05advanced and attacked. Uh, he would have
- 22:07struck.
- 22:10This would have been after you got on or before you got on?
- 22:13Well, I guess after, actually. Yeah, he would have
- 22:15struck. Um,
- 22:18so strike a foe in reach, forcing them to mark
- 22:22two fatigue, mark a condition, or shift their balance away
- 22:24from center. Their choice. Um,
- 22:28he can mark one fatigue to instead choose to
- 22:30hammer you with blows, forcing them to mark two
- 22:33fatigue, or strike where they are weak inflicting a
- 22:36condition. Um, he's just going to do the base.
- 22:39So you have your option to mark two fatigue,
- 22:42mark a condition, or shift your balance away from the center.
- 22:45It's one of those three.
- 22:47Yeah. You get to choose.
- 22:48Uh, I'll shift balance away from the center.
- 22:50Okay. Which way are you going?
- 22:51I'll go back towards force.
- 22:53Towards force, yes. I think that makes sense since you're up
- 22:55there. Yeah. He's forcing you to
- 22:58kind of continue your attack against
- 23:01him as it flails about and you're just,
- 23:04like, trying to get this gem out
- 23:07from, uh, its.
- 23:08Rock doing down there.
- 23:09Yeah. The rest of you three are seeing him, like,
- 23:12riding cowboy on top of this rock monster.
- 23:16Did you guys want to do anything as
- 23:19you watch this scene?
- 23:20Um, I want to assess the situation.
- 23:23Okay.
- 23:24I think Brock's going to die.
- 23:29I'm going to die if you're going to
- 23:32die.
- 23:33I have one fatigue.
- 23:38Twelve.
- 23:39Wow. Okay, you guys are rolling high tonight.
- 23:42Fantastic. All right, dude. Uh,
- 23:45yeah, I suppose so. All right, so as you assess the
- 23:47situation, you have the ability to ask me two of those
- 23:50questions. Having rolled a twelve, do you have a
- 23:52preference on, uh, what that
- 23:55is? Also, real quick, Brock, I forgot to mention
- 23:58this. Um, you do have a plus one
- 24:00ongoing as well when
- 24:03you're acting on the answers of those situations.
- 24:06So you do something else after this. You'll have
- 24:09a plus one to your dice roll as long as you're acting on
- 24:11the answers to those questions, which the gem is, and I would assume
- 24:14that might be the direction you're going. Okay.
- 24:17Yeah.
- 24:17Um, Dave, you'll also have a plus one
- 24:20acting towards whatever it is that you're about to ask.
- 24:23Um,
- 24:26what here can I use to help
- 24:28Brock? And
- 24:32what's my best way?
- 24:36So what's my best way down the side of this
- 24:38mountain?
- 24:39Okay, so as an
- 24:42Earthbender, you have kind of the unique ability
- 24:45to kind of manipulate
- 24:48a pathway for yourself if you were to
- 24:50slide down or something along those lines. Um, you do
- 24:53see a fairly thin but
- 24:56flat rock that you almost wonder if you could sled
- 24:59down the side of this hill safely and
- 25:01quickly. Um, additionally, there are
- 25:04a number of sort of
- 25:07outcroppings of rock that if you wanted to, you might be
- 25:09and this is going to your other question.
- 25:13Um, break into chunks and using your Earth
- 25:15bending, maybe kick or throw towards the monster to give
- 25:18it a, uh,
- 25:22broccoli, a, ah, bit of a distraction
- 25:25while he tries to rip this gem out of its head.
- 25:28You can kind of see what he's trying to do and you wonder
- 25:30if maybe the best bet would have been ensure that the thing
- 25:33isn't directly attacking him from on its
- 25:36head or where the head would
- 25:38be.
- 25:40Um, okay.
- 25:42All right, perfect. Uh, we'll go
- 25:45into another round of, I assume, combat exchange.
- 25:48Yeah, if you're cool with that. All right, sounds good. And then, Dave, you're
- 25:51involved in it and everything. So if you have something
- 25:54that you would like to contribute as well, you
- 25:57have that opportunity. Although it
- 26:00doesn't necessarily have to be a
- 26:03combat technique, necessarily, if you didn't want
- 26:06it to be.
- 26:06So is this my turn or
- 26:09his turn?
- 26:10Uh, so both of you would decide
- 26:12simultaneously what you wanted to do. Again,
- 26:15um, technically, you could
- 26:18decide something outside of the
- 26:20techniques for combat, depending
- 26:23on where you are. You're pretty directly in
- 26:26contact with this, so it'd be kind of, like, a bit dangerous for you to
- 26:29do anything other than combat. To some extent.
- 26:31I will advance an attack.
- 26:33Okay.
- 26:35If he picks something else, does he get to go before
- 26:38me?
- 26:38Um, if he were to do defend a
- 26:41maneuver or, depending on narratively, what
- 26:44it is that he wants to do, it could go
- 26:47first. Yeah.
- 26:48Okay.
- 26:49I want to advance and attack.
- 26:51Okay, sounds good. So both of you are going to
- 26:54be advanced and attacking. Uh, it also is
- 26:57advanced and attacking. Um,
- 27:00you guys will go first. Does anyone have
- 27:03a preference?
- 27:04I can, um, go first, I
- 27:07guess.
- 27:08Does that work?
- 27:09Yeah.
- 27:10Okay, cool. Go ahead.
- 27:11I will roll for smash.
- 27:14Okay.
- 27:15Um, in this
- 27:18attempt, I'm going to try and just because it says
- 27:21Smash, uh, mark one, fatigue to destroy
- 27:24or destabilize something in the environment.
- 27:27Um, I will attempt to destroy
- 27:30this gem on top of the monster.
- 27:32All right, so both of you are going to be rolling with passion since you're both doing
- 27:35advance and attack to determine if you do
- 27:38something or how much you're able to do or whatever the
- 27:40case.
- 27:41I get a plus two on passion.
- 27:44Uh, 13.
- 27:46And is that with your plus one as well?
- 27:481414. Wow. Goodness. Okay, so,
- 27:51yeah, you use Smash. You raise your hand
- 27:54above your head. You come down hard, as, um,
- 27:57Earthbenders do. They don't fear the rock as it's
- 28:00coming towards them, per se. So you feel very confident as you
- 28:02come down. You break the rock. As your fist
- 28:05makes contact with it, the gem itself
- 28:08breaks free, uh, from the creature's
- 28:11head. It flies up. As it does, the
- 28:14creature starts to kind of, like, wobble and so on.
- 28:17Um, guo, what are you doing?
- 28:20Um, I'm also going to smash.
- 28:22Okay.
- 28:23I'm going to look at
- 28:26those rock colonnades or whatever
- 28:29on, um, the side of the hill, and I'm m going to
- 28:31attempt to take
- 28:34out the small piece of stone that's holding
- 28:37the pillar.
- 28:38Up, cause it to kind of collapse.
- 28:40Um, okay.
- 28:43Yeah.
- 28:44And what did you roll
- 28:46or get.
- 28:47Like, a small rock, like, get momentum,
- 28:50um, to roll into that and to cause some sort of
- 28:53avalanche.
- 28:54Sure.
- 28:55I got a nine.
- 28:56A nine.
- 28:56Okay, cool. That's a success.
- 28:58So you rush over to one of these
- 29:01outcroppings that sort of angled at just the
- 29:04right spot on the top of this hill, uh,
- 29:07that you're sort of on, and you break out a chunk of it,
- 29:10allowing the rock to tumble forward and start
- 29:13rolling down the hill, as you mentioned. Um, Brock, you
- 29:16have just ripped the gemstone out of
- 29:19its head. And as it wobbles and starts to
- 29:21destabilize, a rock outcropping comes
- 29:24down and sort of sweeps its legs out from under it.
- 29:26So the whole beast kind of just tumbles backwards and
- 29:29falls. I would say
- 29:32you deftly easily leap off of
- 29:35it, having maybe seen this coming
- 29:38or just having the fact that you were on
- 29:41top of it, um, in your
- 29:43favor. So you leap off this beast, you've got
- 29:46the giant gem in your hand, and, uh,
- 29:49the beast is down as it hits the ground. All
- 29:52the rocks that make up this spirit, as they
- 29:55said, or, uh, as Rooney had yelled, um, just
- 29:58sort of start to roll away into
- 30:01just a series of boulders. Not one
- 30:04connected creature anymore.
- 30:10Are you, like me, a fan of
- 30:13piracy or privateering, um,
- 30:16out in your DND campaign? Well, check
- 30:19this out. We have been working on a brand
- 30:21new airship combat system. That
- 30:24means you and your privateer crew can now
- 30:27take to the skies and pillage at new
- 30:30heights. Within this system, you will
- 30:33get three dimensional dynamic movement and
- 30:36combat rules. You'll get a brand new
- 30:38updated air crew system as well as
- 30:41brand new spells, items, creatures,
- 30:44and example airships for you to use in your
- 30:47campaign as well as crews to put on
- 30:49them. But I think the coolest part about all of this
- 30:52is we have a custom ship builder
- 30:55application that will allow you to customize and
- 30:58build your very own airship.
- 31:01It means you and your team can have exactly
- 31:04what you want as you take on the skies.
- 31:07If you're interested in any of that, check out our Sky's efforts
- 31:10Kickstarter here at Hermion the Dude.

- 32:57it. Thanks for listening.
- 32:58Let's get back to the show.
- 33:05All right, so with the gem in hand,
- 33:08I turn up to, uh,
- 33:11Bill and Mika, and I just
- 33:14yell, did.
- 33:15You enjoy the show?
- 33:20Yeah,
- 33:22thanks for the help.
- 33:24I guess you pretty much had it handled,
- 33:27Brock.
- 33:28Would have been nice to have some help still.
- 33:32Well, we have a gem now, I guess. That's kind of
- 33:34cool. Should we get back onto
- 33:37the boats?
- 33:39Is everyone okay down there?
- 33:41I think everyone's fine.
- 33:43One man steps forward and he says.
- 33:45Well, I got to say, uh, I'm the
- 33:48foreman here, and I've never quite seen anything like
- 33:51that before in my life. I got to say, I really
- 33:53appreciate your guys'help. Who knows what
- 33:56would have happened to us if you hadn't been here.
- 33:59Well, happy to help.
- 34:02Just, um, be careful
- 34:05next time. Ah, rock monster comes up, I suppose.
- 34:08Well, I've never seen such a thing in my life.
- 34:11And then all of a sudden, Rooney,
- 34:14he jumps up and lands on
- 34:17his back and slides down the hill with his legs up in
- 34:20the air, sort of almost steering things
- 34:23as he rolls or slides, and he
- 34:25pops back up onto his feet as he reaches the bottom.
- 34:28He's like, Well, I told you that things like this would happen. I
- 34:31said, It's dangerous to go carving through the middle of
- 34:34a mountain. But you guys didn't listen to me, and you said, we're going to
- 34:37make gold.
- 34:40He just kind of loses all sense of understanding after a
- 34:42certain moment, and.
- 34:43The guy's like, well,
- 34:46I don't know what to say. You sound like a crazy
- 34:49old man. Yeah, crazy old man. Crazy
- 34:52old man. Well, I'm not a crazy old man
- 34:55today. Look at what happened.
- 34:58Uh, okay, fair point. I see your
- 35:01point. Uh, I apologize if I may have
- 35:04offended you, sir, uh, but, uh,
- 35:07what we're doing here, uh, is very important
- 35:09in creating trade between Gao Ling and
- 35:12the Fire Nation. And, uh, it has to be to I don't care,
- 35:15whatever.
- 35:19He's just gone, like, off his rocker. You don't even know what he's
- 35:22saying anymore?
- 35:24Well, we were fine.
- 35:27Yeah, there was an earth spirit, but super fine.
- 35:30Everything's fine. These guys are all fine. I mean,
- 35:33few cuts and bruises, but we should be good.
- 35:36Yes, I agree. I think we'll be
- 35:39all right. Uh, we may take, uh, the rest of the day off
- 35:42to recover, and then we'll, uh, continue in the
- 35:44morning. Nobody want to
- 35:47listen to me. Let's get out of here. I don't want to
- 35:50be around these crazy people anymore. It could be
- 35:53more rock spirits out here, who knows?
- 35:57So as we're I'm assuming if we start
- 35:59walking back to the we're back down
- 36:02towards the boats. Can I inspect well, you guys aren't.
- 36:05At the boats yet. I mean, you guys are still making your way through the mountain.
- 36:08What's the thinking like as we're walking down there? Can I
- 36:11inspect the gem, see if there's any sort of
- 36:13sure.
- 36:14Yeah. Ah.
- 36:14Do I need to roll for that?
- 36:16Um, the best thing that I could think of is if you wanted
- 36:19to try to assess a situation. Otherwise,
- 36:22um, it's hard to say if you
- 36:25personally would know much about it or be able to
- 36:28really sense much about it. It'd be something you'd probably just
- 36:30need somebody with expert knowledge
- 36:33to kind of help you out and
- 36:36determine.
- 36:37Gotcha. So I'll sort of extend the
- 36:39gem out, know Rooney
- 36:42and Bill, Mika and Guo and just
- 36:45the whole gang. Uh, you guys
- 36:48know anything about mean gave this
- 36:50thing life, so it's got to be pretty important, right?
- 36:53Oh, I think I might have seen or, uh, heard
- 36:56stories about something like this.
- 37:00What kind of stories?
- 37:02Well, I think, um, this is just a theory,
- 37:04mind you, but I think what you've got there
- 37:07is known as the heart
- 37:10of the mountain.
- 37:13Heart of the mountain?
- 37:14Yes. The
- 37:17whole mountain.
- 37:20You were punching that didn't
- 37:23break it?
- 37:25Some say that the heart of the mountain homes
- 37:28a guardian spirit, and each mountain
- 37:31has one, sometimes multiple,
- 37:33depending the size of the mountain. And,
- 37:36uh, I don't know, a number of other factors I don't know about.
- 37:39You killed it.
- 37:42Yeah.
- 37:44Just, uh, out of curiosity, how many mountains are
- 37:47we going to be encountering on this trip?
- 37:49Oh, just this one. We just got to get through this, and
- 37:51then on the other side, we'll get to Chin village.
- 37:54Okay, so we won't hopefully
- 37:57encounter any.
- 37:58More of those guys?
- 37:59Oh, no, I doubt it,
- 38:02to be fair. I mean, we're not the ones digging into the
- 38:05mountain. That's usually why they come out, as if someone's just
- 38:08gone too far and then this thing comes
- 38:10out.
- 38:13I was trained not to say what?
- 38:18Wow.
- 38:19Back to back. Lord of the Rings episodes a lot.
- 38:21Of Lord of the Rings coming in season
- 38:24two.
- 38:25Oh, boy.
- 38:26Well, I mean, what's done is done, right?
- 38:29It's not like we you ripped its heart out.
- 38:34You know what?
- 38:34Yeah.
- 38:35Spirits are going to be after you.
- 38:36Old heartbreaker.
- 38:37You know, all things considered, I bet it used to be mad
- 38:40at the construction crew. And I almost wonder
- 38:43if it's changed its feelings.
- 38:47I'm sure it has at this point.
- 38:49Yeah, I kind of feel bad about helping
- 38:52you, even though I didn't help you that much, brock.
- 38:57Well, if we're all cursed about
- 39:00this, uh, I'll take the blame for that. I
- 39:03will say a big old oops on that.
- 39:06So what are you going to do with it?
- 39:08Guess hang on to it.
- 39:12See, uh, we can do
- 39:15anything with it.
- 39:18Who knows? It's possible.
- 39:20Could sell for a good price.
- 39:23I don't know if I'd want to sell it, but I'm not
- 39:26opposed to it either.
- 39:27Keeping your options.
- 39:29Make a wish.
- 39:31I never heard a legend about that, but I suppose anything's
- 39:34possible when it comes to the spirit world.
- 39:36I will rub the gem the heart of the
- 39:39mountain just to see if.
- 39:41I get a wish. Uh, you don't get a wish,
- 39:44but you do feel almost like a
- 39:46rhythmic vibration within
- 39:48it.
- 39:51That's probably fine. Let's keep on
- 39:54trucking.
- 39:57Yeah.
- 39:57Uh, I mean, it kind of vibrated a little bit, but it's
- 40:00probably fine.
- 40:02The rock did.
- 40:03The gem did.
- 40:04Yeah, after I rubbed it.
- 40:07Yeah, that's totally normal.
- 40:08Uh, let's keep this creep spooky.
- 40:11Soul stone.
- 40:11Yeah, I see glows on my soul.
- 40:13Stone.
- 40:16Send shivers down your spine.
- 40:20Um, it starts to eventually get
- 40:22late in the day, and it slowly
- 40:25starts to get to a point where it's getting dark. And
- 40:28Rooney encourages you all, he says.
- 40:30Well, I think it's about time that we set up
- 40:32camp. I think, uh, before
- 40:35we're probably not too far off, but I think
- 40:38we're just far off enough that, uh, we probably don't want to be making
- 40:41our way through the mountains, uh, once it gets
- 40:44dark. That's just from my professional
- 40:47opinion.
- 40:50All right. Seems like a good
- 40:53enough place. Gohan's going to climb into
- 40:56a tree and set up his hammock.
- 40:59All right.
- 41:00Wow. If only I had
- 41:03been above the rock that fell on my back,
- 41:06then I wouldn't be like this. That's some good
- 41:09thinking. Get up high.
- 41:11Brock's gonna he's gonna do his, uh, rock
- 41:14bed where he rock bed he puts himself at
- 41:17ground level yep. With his rock
- 41:19blanket as we all yep.
- 41:23Bill, uh, and Mika as the non
- 41:26bender and waterbender of the group. What do
- 41:29you do to see Mika? You don't have a rooftop
- 41:32to sleep on.
- 41:33Go sleep up in the tree.
- 41:35Yeah, I might actually do that.
- 41:36Go for it. All right. You grab yourself another branch. How do you
- 41:39secure yourself onto the tree?
- 41:43I'm a small guy.
- 41:44Lay on the branch and hope you don't roll in your
- 41:47sleep.
- 41:47I don't move.
- 41:48Oh, okay. She doesn't move in her sleep.
- 41:50All right.
- 41:50Fun fact about Nika you got to.
- 41:52Be silent when you're sleeping in the jungle.
- 41:55Perfectly still or you'll die. When you
- 41:58sleep on the roofs, it's.
- 42:00Like those crazy people that sleep on.
- 42:03Like, if you sleep light enough.
- 42:05That's true. You hope you wake up
- 42:08before you roll off.
- 42:09Imagine non moving dreams. That's the key.
- 42:12Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's like a thing. Like, people
- 42:14will set up a cot on the
- 42:17side of a mountain, like, literally suspended there, and then
- 42:20they sleep in. Yeah. And I just know.
- 42:24No, thank you. But anyways anyways
- 42:27bill, what are you doing?
- 42:29I took my dog with me.
- 42:33Is there a fire?
- 42:35There can be. Uh,
- 42:37Rooney's got supplies, so I mean, yeah, he can make one.
- 42:40Should you remake one?
- 42:42Didn't you read the note? There's only the fire in your heart.
- 42:45Oh, yeah, sorry, I need to rip out my heart.
- 42:47We already ripped out a mountain's heart. You shouldn't rip out Bill's
- 42:50heart.
- 42:51Maybe that's
- 42:54one.
- 42:54He's too quiet now. His heart's broken in
- 42:57million pieces.
- 42:59He's working on it.
- 43:02Are you saying this in the.
- 43:07Tree.
- 43:15Goodness, like he just died two
- 43:18days ago?
- 43:20Some people
- 43:23grieve differently. Denial.
- 43:25Denial. Um, yeah, no,
- 43:28um, he definitely would probably get
- 43:31a fire going. Not much as far as, like
- 43:34I mean, there'd be some dried food or
- 43:37something. Like stuff that's easy to pack and take with
- 43:40you and things along those lines. So he would have some whatever
- 43:43you guys packed, obviously you could eat. Uh,
- 43:46but there is a fire and he
- 43:48sleeps next to it. He's got his own little sleeping bag. Kind of
- 43:51a situation going on.
- 43:54Okay. Ah, bill door definitely
- 43:57goes. Um,
- 43:59and, uh, rests.
- 44:02He sleeps against the base of the tree.
- 44:04Okay.
- 44:05Uh, that's weird.
- 44:08You're not coming down with that tree first.
- 44:10Yeah, Gohan is in that tree first. You joined his
- 44:13tree. He let you in that tree.
- 44:16Right?
- 44:16Sturdy trees growing in a mountain.
- 44:18You're lucky you didn't charge. Toll the troll.
- 44:21Toll the
- 44:24Guo troll.
- 44:27So, uh, he'd let it rest against the tree, holding his post.
- 44:31I give Dilbert some mealworms and I tuck
- 44:34them in.
- 44:36It's adorable. Um,
- 44:39perfect.
- 44:39Yeah.
- 44:40So you guys all get a good night's rest. Um,
- 44:43otherwise uneventful. Although there might have been some
- 44:45difficulty falling asleep just because of the strange
- 44:48either noises or lack of noises that
- 44:51comes with camping out in nature that you might not be
- 44:54used to. Some of you might
- 44:57not be used to having been living and
- 45:00Gowling for so long, hearing the night bustle
- 45:03and hustle of the various people going about
- 45:06their business and such that doesn't exist here.
- 45:08But at the same time, there are a lot of sounds that are new
- 45:11to you. From bugs to strange
- 45:14creatures that live amidst the mountains.
- 45:17But, uh, whatever the case, nothing seems to bother you through the
- 45:20night. Um, in the back of your
- 45:23mind, you wonder if maybe that was worth paying
- 45:25for when it came to Rooney. Uh,
- 45:28he has obviously led you to a
- 45:31space in the area that is
- 45:34safe from potential prowling creatures. Whatever the
- 45:36case, um, you wake up the next morning, uh, if
- 45:39you have any fatigue, I would say
- 45:42this probably relieves one, um, since
- 45:45it's sleeping outside in the kind of a
- 45:48more camping situation.
- 45:51Um, but otherwise,
- 45:53yeah, um, you feel more or less rested. Rooney sits
- 45:56there, he's like, well I.
- 45:57Figured it's not far to go, so I didn't want to wake you all too
- 46:00early because we'll get
- 46:03there before the end of the day.
- 46:08So if you guys are ready
- 46:11and.
- 46:12Awake, lead the way.
- 46:13Uh, all right, and away we
- 46:16go.
- 46:17And so you guys continue on through
- 46:20the mountain range and slowly but
- 46:22surely off in the distance you can
- 46:25see the outskirts of Chin
- 46:28Village. Whoa.
- 46:31Is this Chin Village?
- 46:32Bro. That over there is Chin Village. And across
- 46:35from that you see the water that's reflecting all the
- 46:38sunlight. That's Moko sea.
- 46:41And that's where you'll have to cross to get to.
- 46:46Is a how, uh, long is the
- 46:49trip across the water to Whaletail Island?
- 46:52Well, I don't do much on the water, so I cannot
- 46:55tell you, but, uh,
- 46:57yeah, I don't know much about Whaletail Island. I think it's
- 47:00pirate place. I think they got pirates. They got a real pirate
- 47:03problem.
- 47:04Do you know if there's a sailor in
- 47:07town we could talk to?
- 47:08Oh, I'm sure there's sailors in,
- 47:13yep.
- 47:14Did we already pay?
- 47:17No.
- 47:18Yes. Yeah, we definitely paid you. Did
- 47:21you I think you might got hit in the head with another rock.
- 47:24No, it does happen from time to time.
- 47:27Yeah, I'm pretty sure. Yeah.
- 47:28Right, Bill? We paid him.
- 47:29Yeah, up front.
- 47:30Yeah. I mean, why else would you come out here if not with
- 47:33already all the money?
- 47:35Yes.
- 47:36Mhm.
- 47:39Uh, you're right.
- 47:42You're all right with me too, Rooney. And
- 47:45that's not just referring to your 90 degree angle.
- 47:53He pauses for a moment, he thinks about that one. He's like.
- 47:59You'Re all right too, kid. All right, let's get over to Chin.
- 48:02Village, give him ah, a wink and.
- 48:04A point so I didn't get too.
- 48:06Bent out of shape.
- 48:12Low five.
- 48:14It's funny because his back's busted.
- 48:19Fun fact about,
- 48:21uh, Rooney, uh, he is entirely
- 48:24based off of a dude that I saw in a parking
- 48:27garage.
- 48:30That bad, huh? It freaked me out.
- 48:34Thankfully. So this is the second time I've seen that guy, and
- 48:37thankfully, both times he's been walking away from me because
- 48:39it's a dark parking garage. And I'm usually, like, the
- 48:42only person out there getting my car. And I'm like, if I saw
- 48:45a 90 deg person walking towards me, it sounds straight
- 48:48out of, like, a creepy pasta.
- 48:50Turn around. He doesn't have a face.
- 48:52Good god. No.
- 48:54The guy back in California, actually, he went to my church.
- 48:57He had the same situation.
- 48:58He had a back situation.
- 49:00M.
- 49:03All these falling rocks everywhere.
- 49:08That'll do it really. It's
- 49:11the untold crisis across
- 49:13America, right?
- 49:14Yeah, it's true. Um, so as you
- 49:17guys make it into Chin Village,
- 49:20um, Rooney says, well.
- 49:23M, I go faster on my own. Usually it takes a
- 49:26full day for me to get people over here, but
- 49:29it'll only take me about the rest of today to get
- 49:32back, so I'm going to just head out. So, uh, good luck to you
- 49:35guys.
- 49:35Bye bye. And
- 49:38he turns
- 49:40180 degrees to walk his 90
- 49:43degrees self back through the
- 49:45mountain. It's a lot of
- 49:48angles. You guys didn't think you'd be doing so much geometry
- 49:51today, did you? Um, as he does this,
- 49:54you guys turn back around to, uh, Chin Village
- 49:57and you realize
- 50:00it's pretty empty, like nobody's around, which
- 50:03is weird.
- 50:04Um, just feel a boat.
- 50:05Where are you guys headed? Whaletail
- 50:08island.
- 50:09Do we know how to get there? It's just open water.
- 50:12It is just open water. You currently don't have a
- 50:15vessel?
- 50:15We can steal it.
- 50:17I have a question.
- 50:18Yes?
- 50:18Where did I land? With Mr.
- 50:21Okeron.
- 50:22Like in what sense?
- 50:23Like when we ran from the pirates, where did
- 50:26we land? Oh, was it in near
- 50:29this town?
- 50:30Yeah, it probably would have been, actually. Yeah.
- 50:32Okay, so should we go check the beaches?
- 50:34For what? If we start
- 50:37by checking where me and Mr.
- 50:39Okaron first showed up
- 50:42here on the boat.
- 50:44That sounds like a good idea.
- 50:46And if we can't find anything there, then we can go talk to pirates,
- 50:49the sorry, rather the, uh,
- 50:51traders around here, the ship captains,
- 50:54and get us a boat. But first we should
- 50:57check because I think the riddles said something
- 50:59about going to this place where we first landed,
- 51:02so might as well go there.
- 51:04Okay. Um, you guys make your way to
- 51:07the beaches of
- 51:10Chin Village, kind of going up along
- 51:12the coast, you feel fairly
- 51:15confident that you find the spot where you guys
- 51:18originally landed. Um, there doesn't really
- 51:21seem to be anything there. And again, you're
- 51:24continually surprised because you really haven't seen a whole lot of people,
- 51:27but you can hear something off in the not
- 51:30too far off distance. Um,
- 51:33some loud noises, something
- 51:36jovial almost like, um,
- 51:38rhythmic in a sense.
- 51:42Okay.
- 51:43But we don't see anything at the.
- 51:45Spot where we right. Okay. To be fair, you have kind
- 51:48of made your way around the outside of this,
- 51:51so you kind of came in at the outskirts of
- 51:54the town and then the beach was continued around to the
- 51:56outskirts.
- 51:58So we're on the beach right now?
- 52:00Yeah.
- 52:00Okay.
- 52:02Um, you do see a number of ships that are all
- 52:04docked, um, but nobody seems to be loading
- 52:07or unloading or in the
- 52:09ships on the docks, near the
- 52:12ships, et cetera. Okay.
- 52:15Any idea what we're looking for, Bill?
- 52:19Uh, no, not particularly.
- 52:24I don't see any boat
- 52:26thingies out here or
- 52:30don't, um, see crates,
- 52:32nothing. I don't know really what to look for out here.
- 52:35This is where we landed. It was right by this
- 52:38I think it was by this rock.
- 52:43I don't know how many other rocks look like, uh,
- 52:48uh, uh, half
- 52:51a chicken?
- 52:53I don't know.
- 52:54Well, the clue said well, I might.
- 52:56Have a few in my pouch, actually.
- 52:58Big rocks.
- 52:59Big rocks.
- 52:59These are boulders. It looks like a boulder. Look like half a
- 53:02chicken.
- 53:03Is there one? Can we see one?
- 53:05Here a boulder here that looks like half a chicken?
- 53:07Yes, like that one.
- 53:10See.
- 53:13I, uh, point to one and you guys look at it, and
- 53:17it does not look like half a chicken.
- 53:19And it looks like half of a
- 53:21rotisserie chicken.
- 53:22Oh, there you go. With, like, a leg sticking out.
- 53:25Yeah.
- 53:26So like that big rock over there, the one that we're
- 53:29not near right now?
- 53:30Yeah, that one over that one looks.
- 53:32Like an opposite half of a
- 53:35rotisserie chicken.
- 53:36Yeah, maybe check by that.
- 53:39That's where we landed.
- 53:41Probably go check over there.
- 53:42Yeah, let's go over there.
- 53:44Uh, you check over there and you still don't really
- 53:47see any dinghies or canoes or
- 53:49any other ships, if that's what you're looking for.
- 53:53No X marks the spots. No chest,
- 53:56nothing.
- 53:57Uh, I mean, you look at the map again, and it's not
- 54:00showing any kind of X or anything on the
- 54:03beaches of Chin Village. It does cross through Chin
- 54:06Village, like the dotted line, but the X is at
- 54:08Whaletail Island.
- 54:10Okay, well, it says.
- 54:14Return yourself to the island shores. The next clue
- 54:17will soon be yours.
- 54:19Uh, we're not on the island, guys.
- 54:23No. Did you meet Mr. Okeron?
- 54:26On whaletail island.
- 54:29Well, there was an island we were
- 54:32docked on for a limited
- 54:34time. It was like a pirate hideout
- 54:37where they would basically put all their smuggled goods
- 54:40and stuff in between ports and stuff.
- 54:43I didn't know the name of the island, but that might have been
- 54:46Whaletail Island. I guess
- 54:49that might be what the island shores it's talking about.
- 54:51Yeah, it doesn't specify.
- 54:55And then whenever we get there, we have to look to the back
- 54:58and use the flame in your heart.
- 55:00Well, you did that already. Gohan
- 55:03did with, uh, the
- 55:06flame on the map?
- 55:08Yeah, the candle flame. Uh, that's what gave us the
- 55:11map. So I guess we got to go to the shores. So
- 55:14let's get a boat. Simple.
- 55:16Yeah. Well, should we also find a map to Whaletail
- 55:19Island?
- 55:21We have one right here.
- 55:23Oh, yeah.
- 55:24Look at that.
- 55:25That rock monster did a number on my head.
- 55:30Um, how far is it to
- 55:33the island?
- 55:34We, um, still have no idea. It doesn't look like it'll take
- 55:37you no, no. Can we see it from M
- 55:40here? Yeah, um, you can actually kind of just barely make
- 55:42it out from where you're at, so it definitely doesn't look like it
- 55:45would take you a whole day.
- 55:47Mr. Okeron and I if Whaletail Island is the island
- 55:50where we escaped from the pirates, me and Mr. Okaron were able
- 55:52to escape them in a night in a dinghy. And
- 55:55he was, needless to say, not
- 55:58was. Mostly it was all me.
- 56:00I'm going to be honest.
- 56:00It was all me, uh, rowing that old
- 56:03man, uh, in a dinghy filled, mind you,
- 56:06with a lot of tea products. He was not
- 56:09willing to, uh, let go easily.
- 56:11I don't know if I'd say a.
- 56:12Lot, but whatever he could get.
- 56:14Hey, this is Bill's interpretation.
- 56:17Any amount of tea products a lot to Bill because he
- 56:20doesn't see any value in saving tea.
- 56:23He was very insistent on saving his tea. I saw
- 56:26no reason but, you know, Mr. Ochre
- 56:29on New
- 56:32Or loved his tea.
- 56:36Anyways, you gotta find a
- 56:38boat.
- 56:39Our heads all.
- 56:43Mika'S whole purpose right now is just to continually
- 56:46remind you people that Ogron is dead.
- 56:49And to get a boat.
- 56:51And to get a boat.
- 56:53So it's not like we can grab anybody's
- 56:56keys, right?
- 56:59So where'd you get that fox dog?
- 57:03So we've all been wondering
- 57:06that's a.
- 57:07Little bit off topic.
- 57:08What's your fox dog's name?
- 57:11You haven't actually talked about it.
- 57:13Yeah, not since the
- 57:16that was like weeks ago.
- 57:18It's just been following us. We talk all the time about Dilbert.
- 57:21Yeah.
- 57:21Dilbert's.
- 57:21Cool.
- 57:23Look at him. He's just enjoying his nice swim in the
- 57:26water.
- 57:27Yeah.
- 57:27Ah, look at him.
- 57:27We just dropped him in the ocean.
- 57:30He's bobbing there. He like raises one tentacle
- 57:33and kind of waves it at you guys.
- 57:34You know, they're talking about him.
- 57:35Yeah, your fox dog is nowhere near Dilbert. We got
- 57:38to get some backstory.
- 57:40Maybe a little, uh, hat
- 57:43no.
- 57:43What if his name is Fantastic mr.
- 57:46Where's the dog?
- 57:47A hat? No, I said we need to
- 57:50get the dog a hat.
- 57:52Funny one.
- 57:53Named it in a different episode.
- 57:54I don't think you did. I don't think we did.
- 57:57Pretty sure we did.
- 57:58You could name it right now.
- 58:01McKay.
- 58:04It's a boy.
- 58:05It's a boy.
- 58:06Uh, oto?
- 58:07Otto? Uh.
- 58:11No.
- 58:15It'S a good name.
- 58:17It's a good name. Strong name, strong.
- 58:20Wish I'd been named it.
- 58:21What about, uh.
- 58:24A kale?
- 58:25How about Tommy boy? Are we
- 58:28naming it right now? Have you not named this thing yet?
- 58:31I told you, I'm pretty sure I named it in a different episode.
- 58:34What do you mean by episode? What does episode
- 58:37mean? Why are you giving me that
- 58:40look?
- 58:40Mika, put a pin in there.
- 58:43Fine. We'll get a ship and then
- 58:46we'll discuss the name on the way there.
- 58:49Perfect idea.
- 58:52So are there any ships that look easy to steal?
- 58:55Let's head back to the docks, guys.
- 58:57Well, you guys are still at the well, I mean, right there dock
- 59:00area. I mean, it's all kind of connected.
- 59:02So should we just walk up to the first ship?
- 59:04You could literally just grab like a dinghy or something.
- 59:07Yeah, but ships are cooler.
- 59:08True.
- 59:09We could build a whole ship and have a whole pirate crew or
- 59:12something.
- 59:12That'S a lot more noticeable and a
- 59:15lot probably more harder to sail.
- 59:18But if whale to it, if it's a pirate
- 59:21island, we want to blend in.
- 59:22Right. Because they're going to
- 59:25notice.
- 59:28Inconspic, whatever.
- 59:31Trust me. Any way you show up on a pirate island,
- 59:34uh, they're going to be asking questions if they see you.
- 59:37I just think our word would carry a bit further
- 59:40in a ship than on a dinghy. That's just my,
- 59:42uh, thought. Your word.
- 59:44Does anybody know when they try and attack the pirate
- 59:47the pirates, when they.
- 59:48Attack the ship, they would already know.
- 59:49What the ship is, probably.
- 59:52Yeah.
- 59:52We say, hey, oh, that's so and so ship. Let's
- 59:55shoot him with cannons.
- 59:57Unless he's light, and he's like, hey, it's good old
- 1:00:00Steve's ship.
- 1:00:01Then they would ask, Where's Steve?
- 1:00:03We'll say, he's drunk on
- 1:00:06the he's sleeping
- 1:00:09in the cabins.
- 1:00:11Yeah, but why take the chance on, oh, this boat
- 1:00:14might be good. This boat might not be.
- 1:00:18What if we find a boat where there
- 1:00:21is somebody drunk and sleeping in?
- 1:00:23Uh, it here you go. Let's just look on the
- 1:00:26boats, and we can pull the blame on them.
- 1:00:30Okay.
- 1:00:31Oh, you forgot to cast your mooring
- 1:00:34line.
- 1:00:36Is that a sailing term?
- 1:00:37What's a mooring line goal?
- 1:00:39The thing you tie to the dock. I don't know.
- 1:00:42Does anybody actually know how to sail?
- 1:00:45That's another I know how to row. I
- 1:00:48grew up on a dinghy because.
- 1:00:49I've done it before.
- 1:00:50I grew up on a farm.
- 1:00:52Uh, okay, so I don't think we want
- 1:00:55something with a sail if none of us know how to
- 1:00:57sail.
- 1:00:58What if we find someone who's going there and we just ask
- 1:01:01to tag along? There was a big party going around not too far
- 1:01:04from here.
- 1:01:04Um, if it's truly a pirate island, wouldn't the only people
- 1:01:07that be going there are pirates?
- 1:01:10Yeah, they're reasonable people.
- 1:01:11Right.
- 1:01:12Uh, in my experience,
- 1:01:16I was enslaved.
- 1:01:21Yeah, I guess they're mostly reasonable. They fed main stuff.
- 1:01:24Yeah.
- 1:01:26For the shot.
- 1:01:27Right.
- 1:01:28We just go up to the party. We kindly ask some
- 1:01:31random pirate stranger, who's a
- 1:01:33pirate?
- 1:01:35Pirate, raise your hand.
- 1:01:36I am a pirate.
- 1:01:39You got to raise your hand initially to, um, encourage more
- 1:01:42people. It's like if you're on stage and you ask people to raise their
- 1:01:45hand, you do it.
- 1:01:48I, um, like to think we walk in like plankton from SpongeBob in that
- 1:01:51one episode.
- 1:01:51It's like felicitations malfactors.
- 1:01:59Say that around a pirate. That worked great.
- 1:02:02That one pirate guy was that was like his whole it
- 1:02:05was like he was the well spoken pirate.
- 1:02:08That's the one I talked about. The
- 1:02:10bostaff.
- 1:02:11Uh, kilconi. That was his name. Kilconi.
- 1:02:13So what if he's on this island? We could talk.
- 1:02:16Well, then he definitely remembered me. That's for sure.
- 1:02:19In a good way.
- 1:02:20Unless if I hit him really hard in the head. I did hit him on the head.
- 1:02:23Maybe he'd lost memory of me.
- 1:02:28I don't know.
- 1:02:29Well, I don't see anybody around here. I think
- 1:02:32maybe we have to go figure out what
- 1:02:35all that ruckus was.
- 1:02:38We still hear it, right?
- 1:02:39Where is it on the sounds like it's
- 1:02:42coming from the center of town.
- 1:02:44Okay, go check out the ruckus.
- 1:02:46The ruckus.
- 1:02:47All right.
- 1:02:48Yeah.
- 1:02:48Ruckus time. Ruckus time.
- 1:02:50Ruckus time.
- 1:02:51All right, so you guys make your way? How about that?
- 1:02:53Brackus?
- 1:02:54No, not good. Okay.
- 1:02:55What about Fracas?
- 1:02:57Fracus.
- 1:02:58That's a good name.
- 1:02:59You guys make your way rufus towards.
- 1:03:02We'Re not on the ship yet. We got.
- 1:03:06We'Re saying that's what we're walking
- 1:03:08as you're walking towards the center.
- 1:03:10Of town, music, um,
- 1:03:13and crowds, uh,
- 1:03:15speaking and talking and chatting, and stuff starts to get
- 1:03:18louder. And eventually you approach what, uh,
- 1:03:21seems to be a massive festival going on, and
- 1:03:24people are celebrating. And there's
- 1:03:27little shop vendors that are
- 1:03:29selling they're selling all sorts of, like they
- 1:03:32look like sea serpent masks, um,
- 1:03:36kind of like different colors and such like that. There's people
- 1:03:39selling food. There's people selling
- 1:03:42what look like fancy wood
- 1:03:45blocks that kind of have, like, a rounded shape to
- 1:03:48it. And they're kind of, like, glistening like they've been
- 1:03:50painted with a special, um,
- 1:03:53glittery paint. Um,
- 1:03:56people seem to be gathering kind of into
- 1:03:59the center of town,
- 1:04:01and all of a sudden,
- 1:04:04somebody um well, I don't know. I mean, if
- 1:04:07you guys were going to interact with anything going on
- 1:04:10or thing yeah, just sort of see if.
- 1:04:12There'S any, uh, pirates, we'll
- 1:04:15say friendly faces.
- 1:04:16Sure. Well, there's plenty of friendly faces. There's a lot of people that
- 1:04:19seem like they're having a good time celebrating. Um
- 1:04:23um, if there was anything that you noticed
- 1:04:25that seemed off, you might
- 1:04:28notice that it seems like some people
- 1:04:32seem to kind of be avoiding
- 1:04:34other people that are all wearing the same outfits.
- 1:04:37So a lot of people are wearing.
- 1:04:40One of those festivals.
- 1:04:41So there's a lot of people wearing green, and there's
- 1:04:44a lot of people wearing red. And you notice that the
- 1:04:47people not always, but a, uh, few times you
- 1:04:49notice that people wearing green seem to be
- 1:04:52avoiding or maybe in a small, like one
- 1:04:55person to one person disagreement with somebody wearing red,
- 1:04:58but otherwise, that's all you notice.
- 1:05:01Um, what kind of green?
- 1:05:05Kind, um, of more of like, ah.
- 1:05:07Green or like an emerald green.
- 1:05:09More like an emerald green. Yeah. Thank you. And then
- 1:05:12the red is kind of a standard
- 1:05:15kind of a scarlet red.
- 1:05:18Do I recognize that color? Any
- 1:05:21of these colors?
- 1:05:22No. I mean, people in the
- 1:05:25Fire Nation wear red, and people in the Earth Nation wear green, but they don't seem.
- 1:05:28Like I was more mean, like pirate.
- 1:05:30Yeah. No, no. Definitely. Not. No.
- 1:05:33Um, whatever the case, you see somebody walk,
- 1:05:36there's like a big podium or whatever. Uh, there's like a
- 1:05:38big pillar, like a short pillar, like for
- 1:05:41putting something on, right? And somebody walks
- 1:05:44out wearing some very nice fancy
- 1:05:46clothes. Not far behind them, there's somebody
- 1:05:49wearing black, all black,
- 1:05:52almost sort of looks like a dressy, almost
- 1:05:54ceremonial kind of outfit. Um,
- 1:05:57the one walking forward currently
- 1:06:00is man. He's holding like a
- 1:06:02big square something in
- 1:06:05his hands with a big fabric covering
- 1:06:08over top of it. The person behind him wearing all
- 1:06:11black, it's a woman. Um, she's
- 1:06:14got a, ah, guard or somebody with
- 1:06:16her. Um, she kind of approaches and then stands off to the side of
- 1:06:19the stage. The man carrying the large glass,
- 1:06:22he sets it onto the little pedestal and he turns to the
- 1:06:25group and he's like, attention.
- 1:06:27Attention, everyone. It is time for the
- 1:06:29festival's proudest tradition, the
- 1:06:32revealing of the scales.
- 1:06:34And everyone's like, woo. And so they start
- 1:06:37to kind of gather around and of course, you guys kind of are within
- 1:06:39that crowd as you all gather around to see.
- 1:06:42And he's like, before I reveal the scales, I want
- 1:06:44to thank the people of Quinchao Village for joining us
- 1:06:47here today for the festival and bringing their
- 1:06:50scale along with them. As always,
- 1:06:53since it is Qin Village's time to shine,
- 1:06:56I will be revealing the scale bestowed to us,
- 1:06:59the green scale.
- 1:07:00And everyone's like, woo. They kind of like excited and stuff.
- 1:07:03And he pulls back the curtain
- 1:07:06and everyone gasps. And you guys are kind of
- 1:07:09unsure as to why they're all gasping,
- 1:07:11right? And the person who just
- 1:07:14pulled back the curtain, he kind of stands there very
- 1:07:17surprised. Um, the woman in all black, she kind of rushes
- 1:07:20up and she looks kind of like panicked and
- 1:07:23stuff, like, what's going on? And inside of
- 1:07:25this glass case that he has set on
- 1:07:28this pedestal, um, and just pulled the curtain
- 1:07:31back from, there's a large, red, sort of
- 1:07:34ornate scale looking thing, kind of similar to what you
- 1:07:37saw some people buying from the vendors. But this one looks
- 1:07:40like very almost glass,
- 1:07:43how it reflects the light and stuff like that. Very
- 1:07:46scale, like a serpent scale or something
- 1:07:49like that. Uh, it's red
- 1:07:51and everyone's gasping. And then you start to hear
- 1:07:54people throughout the crowd saying, where's the green
- 1:07:56scale? Where is it? Someone's stolen
- 1:07:59it. And next thing you know, people are
- 1:08:02screaming and shouting and kind of panicking a little bit. And the
- 1:08:05man at the front says.
- 1:08:06Please, everyone, remain calm. We are
- 1:08:09sure to find the green scale. I'm sure it was a
- 1:08:12simple misplacement. Never fear,
- 1:08:15we will find it and the festival can continue
- 1:08:18as normal.
- 1:08:20Oh, uh, dear. And with
- 1:08:23that, we will end episode two.
