- 0:13SPEAKER_00: I'd like to get straight into the word this beautiful morning, and I want to talk to you about a time in the Old Testament.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: And as I said, I want to get straight into it, and it's a time when it's a time in the life of the Israelites and Moses.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: And it's a time when God decided to do something about the cries of his people.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: The Bible says that his people were crying out to him for many years.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: I'm not going to get into that, and you know how long and why there was no response and things like that.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: It was their own doing, if you ask me.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: But this is a time when Jesus, uh when God has decided now to free his people from bondage and slavery and take them to a place that he promised their forefathers.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: We know Abraham was the forefathers, uh the forefather of three lineages.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: So he made a promise to Abraham and you know his line after that, which is basically the Israelites now.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: And this is the time when he decides that he's going to take them out of slavery.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: And I want to tell you that uh, for those of you who don't know, the Israelites at this point of time are slaves to Egypt.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: Egypt at that time was the most uh, let's call it the most booming economy and civilization around.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: And the Israelites were slaves to them, slaves to the Pharaoh.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: And yes, I'm talking about the time when God actually frees his people, the Israelites, from the Egyptians.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: And I want to tell you what God actually did in the midst of Egypt was just tremendous, and it's there in the it's in there in the Bible.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: And he decided to use Moses at that time as a spokesperson, his forearm or his voice, you call it what you like.
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: And as it goes in the Bible, God sent ten plagues upon Egypt, and he knew that the Pharaoh, in fact, he hardened the Pharaoh's heart because he knew what kind of a man he was, and he knew that the Pharaoh was not going to give in from the get-go.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: And understand that God did not do these things for fun, but he did it to show the Pharaoh and to show the people, to show Israel and everyone around that he is the one true living God.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: Hallelujah.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: And I have a short word today, but I'd like you to stick with me this morning and um I'll tell you how these events panned out.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: Now, God has picked Moses out of nowhere.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: He's just a man who's living with his family, and God picks him to go and free his people, which is a country, it's Israel, and the people of Israel.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: And this is exactly how things panned out when Moses decides to go to Egypt.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: And I'll tell you these all these uh you know aspects and you know the uh the events of how they happened chronologically have been documented in the book of Exodus.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: And you should read it as a story once in a while, but I'm anyway, going to take you through it this morning.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: And as I said, now the whole of Israel is under the Egyptians as slaves, and the great Pharaoh is ruling over them, and they're building his cities, his civilization, all of that, and they didn't have an easy life.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: So Moses decides to go and tell the Pharaoh that you need to release the people of God, his chosen ones.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: And Pharaoh, of course, in easy terms says no.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: And Moses warns him that it's only going to get worse.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: And then God brings down ten plagues upon Egypt, and it's the waters turning to blood, which is the river Nile that turns to blood, which was the only source of water.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: Then there was frogs, there were lice, there were flies, there was livestock being diseased, there was boils, there was hail, there were locusts, there was darkness across the land, and then the death of every firstborn in Egypt.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: And through all these plagues that happened, that were called down upon Egypt in the presence of Egypt, Israel, Moses, and the Pharaoh, and everyone around who could see that this was not natural, but through an act of God.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: But the Pharaoh's heart was hardened through each of these plagues, and he refused to let the Israelites go.
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: But today I want to talk to you about one key event.
- 5:25SPEAKER_00: It's a key event in the middle of all of these things happening.
- 5:29SPEAKER_00: And it's the last event, it's the one where God says, and of course, God knew exactly how it's going to pan out, he's God, where he tells Moses that I'm going to strike the firstborn in Egypt.
- 5:45SPEAKER_00: I'm going to strike every firstborn of Egypt.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: And he even calls it out to Moses, saying, From the maids to the Pharaoh, to the animals and the beasts, every firstborn will be taken away.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: That's not something that's easy.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: And if you're listening right now, and if you just take a few seconds to think, every firstborn, there'll be at least a minimum of two people in your family who'd be gone.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: So you can only imagine what God decided to do.
- 6:24SPEAKER_00: The firstborn of the family, the firstborn of the any line that you want, the firstborn of the maids in the house, the firstborn of the animals, the livestock, the beasts.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: I said too, I think half of every household would have been empty.
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: And that's not something that was easy.
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: And in the words of God to Moses, and there shall be a great cry throughout the land of Egypt, like one that has never happened before, nor one that will ever happen again.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: These are the words of God to Moses before he decided that he's going to send this plague down onto Egypt where he will take away every firstborn of every household.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: If you only understand the depth of this matter, you will understand that it was it it was no easy thing.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: But here's when I'm coming to the main part, and as I said, God tells Moses to tell the Israelites' family to do something.
- 7:40SPEAKER_00: Now, just for your understanding, the the Israelites were given a particular space uh, you know, within uh Egypt, and they were kept a little further away from the regular population because they were slaves.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: The Bible even talks about the kind of food they got to eat.
- 7:55SPEAKER_00: Leftovers, spoiled food, that the Egyptians only wanted to hand down to people.
- 8:02SPEAKER_00: Anyway, that's not the matter.
- 8:04SPEAKER_00: So God decides to tell Moses that the Israelites have to do something at this time.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: And Moses gave him one thing.
- 8:17SPEAKER_00: He did everything that God asked him to do.
- 8:21SPEAKER_00: So he takes it word for word from God and he puts it in front of the Israelites and says, This is what you need to do.
- 8:27SPEAKER_00: And I'm, you know, you know, it's it's explained in a very, very um methodical manner, and you know, it goes step by step very clearly, the instructions that God gives for the people of Israel.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: But I'm just gonna keep it really simple for you to understand.
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: He says you need to take a lamb and sacrifice it.
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: He tells Moses, go and tell every family in Israel that they need to take a lamb, either of uh a sheep or a goat.
- 8:53SPEAKER_00: He even says that the firstborn, and the instructions are all the way down to the T.
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: And you need to sacrifice it.
- 9:07SPEAKER_00: And if the family is too small, go and sit with another family and then take a lamb that is adequate for that family and sacrifice it.
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: So, if uh to give you an example, if there are three people in one family and there are three in the other, he says, you know, go and sit with them, now it becomes six.
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: You take a lamb for that family of six now and sacrifice it.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: But as I said, the instructions are super clear.
- 9:34SPEAKER_00: And then after you've sacrificed that lamb, you must take the blood of that lamb and put it on your two door posts and the lintel of the door.
- 9:45SPEAKER_00: Now, the lintel is the top half of the door, so anyone who knows the door, it's a rectangular-shaped thing.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: And you have two door posts and you have the top, which is called the lintel.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: And then God says that you take the blood of that lamb and you put it on your door and you put it on the lintel of your door.
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: I told you specific instructions, and in the words of God, it is the Lord's Passover.
- 10:15SPEAKER_00: You will cook and eat the lamb, and it is the Lord's Passover by his words to Moses, and Moses immediately gathers all the elders so that the news has to pass down.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: You need to understand this information has to pass down to every family in Israel.
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: It's basically every person in a country.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: The Israelites, every family has to know that they have to do this because this is happening now.
- 10:43SPEAKER_00: God has said that He's going to take away the firstborn of every Egyptian family, and the Israelites need to do this.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: So he collects people, and you know, the news is now quickly spreading that everyone needs to do this.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: And this is the time I want to tell you that even today the Jews celebrate a festival called the Passover, celebrated in the month of uh April of every month, uh of every year, and they celebrate it as the Passover.
- 11:17SPEAKER_00: I'm not getting into that, and it is the significance of this very same act of God that changed their future.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: And I'm reading it to you this morning from the book of Exodus, the 12th chapter, the 12th verse.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: I told you this aspect of history and the aspect of the lives of Israel and Moses and what God did for them is documented in the book of Exodus in the Bible.
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: And I'm reading to this morning from the book of Exodus, the 12th chapter, the 12th verse, and understand these are the words of God.
- 11:51SPEAKER_00: I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast, and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: I am the Lord.
- 12:13SPEAKER_00: Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, hallelujah, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: Hallelujah.
- 12:36SPEAKER_00: These are the words of God to Moses unadulterated from the time it was spoken till today.
- 12:49SPEAKER_00: Hallelujah.
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: Some of you can feel the presence of God.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: The sovereign Lord has spoken to Moses in the presence of Israel.
- 13:05SPEAKER_00: He decided to execute judgment to Egypt because he is the Lord.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: He said he will execute judgment against all the gods of Egypt.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: Gods is written in small, by the way.
- 13:20SPEAKER_00: Gods.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: What gods?
- 13:23SPEAKER_00: I am the Lord.
- 13:26SPEAKER_00: And while I do that, this blood that you put on your door and your lintel tells Moses will be the sign for me.
- 13:34SPEAKER_00: And I will pass over you.
- 13:37SPEAKER_00: And the plague shall not, it shall not be on you, and it will not destroy you when I strike the land.
- 14:04SPEAKER_00: And when the Israelites had put that blood on the door, no destruction came upon them.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: Hallelujah.
- 14:19SPEAKER_00: As I said, what God did was absolutely amazing.
- 14:21SPEAKER_00: It was not an easy thing to do.
- 14:23SPEAKER_00: But he had to do it.
- 14:30SPEAKER_00: And this is what God did to free Israel.
- 14:35SPEAKER_00: And there's one line from Exodus 12.5.
- 14:40SPEAKER_00: There's one line from Exodus 12.5.
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: That says your lamb shall be without blemish.
- 14:53SPEAKER_00: Exodus 12.5.
- 14:55SPEAKER_00: He tells Moses, Your Lamb shall be without blemish.
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: If he's wounded, this is my version now, right?
- 15:02SPEAKER_00: If he's wounded, you can't take him.
- 15:04SPEAKER_00: If he has a bad spot somewhere, you can't take him.
- 15:06SPEAKER_00: If he's slightly limp, you can't take him.
- 15:09SPEAKER_00: If he's doesn't have the right eyesight, you can't take him.
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: He's uh not right even in some way, you can't take him.
- 15:17SPEAKER_00: Your lamb shall be without blemish.
- 15:21SPEAKER_00: Your lamb, in other words, God is telling Moses, go tell the families of Israel that the lamb has to be without blemish, it has to be perfect.
- 15:34SPEAKER_00: Hallelujah.
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: And I'm switching timelines today, and that is what God did for his people, and to free them from slavery.
- 15:47SPEAKER_00: And I want to tell you today what has God done for the whole of mankind.
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: I want to tell you this, and this is where the two timelines merge, and the two stories over here become one.
- 15:59SPEAKER_00: And that is, he sent his son on this planet to be that lamb who is a lamb without blemish.
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: I want to tell you, he sent his son to become a sacrifice for you and me.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: That anyone who puts their faith in the Son Jesus will have eternal life.
- 16:31SPEAKER_00: And the destroyer will have to pass you by.
- 16:34SPEAKER_00: Hallelujah.
- 16:37SPEAKER_00: Hallelujah.
- 16:42SPEAKER_00: And you see, I don't believe it.
- 16:44SPEAKER_00: Because I've only heard about his name.
- 16:49SPEAKER_00: That's fine.
- 16:50SPEAKER_00: You know, that's the reason why.
- 16:51SPEAKER_00: You know, for years on end, God tried.
- 16:54SPEAKER_00: This is my version again.
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: I believe he tried and he tried and he tried everything.
- 16:58SPEAKER_00: And he was like, just nobody seems to understand that I'm their father.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: I did it for them millions of years ago, and they still didn't get it.
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: And they still went out into the promised land and still made a golden calf for themselves.
- 17:16SPEAKER_00: So they still didn't get it after everything that God did.
- 17:19SPEAKER_00: So somewhere down the line, he decided, I'm going to send a lamb.
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: It's going to make it very easy.
- 17:24SPEAKER_00: And anyone who puts their faith in my son, the lamb that is without blemish, my son Jesus, they will have eternal life.
- 17:40SPEAKER_00: And what's the key aspect here is the destroyer has to pass you by.
- 17:45SPEAKER_00: Hallelujah.
- 17:48SPEAKER_00: Some of you heard the name John the Baptist.
- 17:50SPEAKER_00: John the Baptist had only one job, it's written in the Bible.
- 17:53SPEAKER_00: He had just one job, and that was to bring on this planet the awareness and to prepare the way of the Lord.
- 18:02SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 18:07SPEAKER_00: And when he saw Jesus for the first time, it's in John 1.29.
- 18:11SPEAKER_00: When he saw Jesus the first time, the Bible says the next day he saw Jesus coming out to him and he said, Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.
- 18:21SPEAKER_00: Hallelujah.
- 18:22SPEAKER_00: But as I said, nobody believed it.
- 18:29SPEAKER_00: Nobody believed it.
- 18:33SPEAKER_00: The Lamb of God.
- 18:35SPEAKER_00: Why was he called that?
- 18:40SPEAKER_00: I want to tell you this morning.
- 18:43SPEAKER_00: The Lamb of God was obedient to death on a cross for you and me.
- 18:50SPEAKER_00: The Lamb of God, Jesus, was willing to get on a cross and give up his life for you and me.
- 19:02SPEAKER_00: And today the act of that blood on the doorpost and your lintel, that act which was a physical act, has become a spiritual act.
- 19:12SPEAKER_00: And stick with me this morning and understand it that now it's not a physical thing anymore.
- 19:17SPEAKER_00: You don't have to take blood and put it on your door.
- 19:19SPEAKER_00: You just have to put your faith in Jesus and your doors, all your doors, any door, any entry point that you'll have in your homes, in your lives, a spiritual entry is covered now by the blood of the blemishless Lamb of the Most High.
- 19:39SPEAKER_00: Hallelujah.
- 19:40SPEAKER_00: If you get it, this beautiful morning, you will understand that now it's a choice.
- 19:47SPEAKER_00: And that's the reason why God sent his best creation down to this planet.
- 19:57SPEAKER_00: And anyone who believes in him will have eternal life.
- 20:01SPEAKER_00: Anyone who believes in him, the destroyer has to pass you by.
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: And there is a destroyer, mind you.
- 20:12SPEAKER_00: But that's not what I'm speaking about this morning.
- 20:14SPEAKER_00: I never spent time on the guy, he's a defeated foe.
- 20:19SPEAKER_00: Because I know Jesus.
- 20:20SPEAKER_00: That's why he's a defeated foe.
- 20:22SPEAKER_00: And today I want to tell you the day you choose Jesus as your father, the day you choose Jesus as your shepherd, your guide, the day you accept in your heart that he's the Son of God, the day you decide, yes, I know, I've heard it, but let me understand that he died on a cross for me, that he rose on the third day, that he's alive today and he's seated at the right hand of God.
- 20:46SPEAKER_00: The day you believe that in your heart, I want to tell you, that's when, as I said, it's not a physical thing anymore, it's a spiritual thing.
- 20:57SPEAKER_00: That's when that blood is now visible on your doorposts.
- 21:04SPEAKER_00: And the destroyer has no option but to pass you by.
- 21:09SPEAKER_00: Hallelujah.
- 21:11SPEAKER_00: Hallelujah.
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: And I want to tell you, you know, Jesus, when he was on this planet, he told his disciples, he took bread and he took wine, and he said, Do this as often as you eat and drink it.
- 21:25SPEAKER_00: In remembrance of me, you do this.
- 21:27SPEAKER_00: But there's this one line, drink from it.
- 21:33SPEAKER_00: For this is my blood of the new covenant.
- 21:37SPEAKER_00: Hallelujah.
- 21:39SPEAKER_00: This is my blood of the new covenant which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
- 21:47SPEAKER_00: Oh, hallelujah! If you understood it, you understood it.
- 21:50SPEAKER_00: There was an old covenant made between God and the Israelites who were chosen people.
- 21:55SPEAKER_00: There's a new covenant made between Jesus and mankind.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: The whole of mankind, and all you have to do, it's so simple, and that's the reason why it's so overlooked.
- 22:06SPEAKER_00: That all you have to do is just put your faith in the name of Jesus.
- 22:09SPEAKER_00: Hallelujah.
- 22:10SPEAKER_00: Some of you can feel the presence of God.
- 22:14SPEAKER_00: All you have to do is put your faith in the name of Jesus.
- 22:16SPEAKER_00: You need to put your faith in the fact that He is a Son of God.
- 22:20SPEAKER_00: I told you already that He died on a cross for you and me, that He rose on the third day, He's alive and seated at the right hand of God, and that is the new covenant.
- 22:30SPEAKER_00: His blood was shed for the new covenant between us, between Him and mankind, which is you and me.
- 22:37SPEAKER_00: Hallelujah.
- 22:38SPEAKER_00: And that's all you need to do.
- 22:43SPEAKER_00: And in the words of Jesus from John 10 10, as I said, don't take my word for anything.
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: You take the word of God, you take his words this morning.
- 22:54SPEAKER_00: He said, The thief, that thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.
- 23:03SPEAKER_00: John 10 10, that thief, the destroyer, he only comes to steal and kill and destroy.
- 23:09SPEAKER_00: The same thing that happened when the Israelites were in Egypt.
- 23:12SPEAKER_00: But I he says, I come that they will have life and they will have it abundantly.
- 23:19SPEAKER_00: Amen.
- 23:20SPEAKER_00: They will have it abundantly.
- 23:23SPEAKER_00: The destroyer, this beautiful morning, if you understand, has to pass you by.
- 23:29SPEAKER_00: But the only way he will do it is if you put your faith in Jesus.
- 23:33SPEAKER_00: Hallelujah.
- 23:34SPEAKER_00: I won't tell you this beautiful morning.
- 23:35SPEAKER_00: It's a beautiful day for you to decide to try out Jesus.
- 23:44SPEAKER_00: And I'll tell you what you have to do.
- 23:46SPEAKER_00: I told you it's not a physical act anymore.
- 23:48SPEAKER_00: There's no ritual, there's no ceremony, and that's the reason why it's so easily overlooked.
- 23:55SPEAKER_00: Shut that door this beautiful morning.
- 23:57SPEAKER_00: Take some time.
- 23:58SPEAKER_00: You'll say, I don't have a door to shut.
- 23:59SPEAKER_00: That's okay.
- 24:00SPEAKER_00: Just go in one little corner and close your eyes and sit down and call out to Jesus.
- 24:08SPEAKER_00: That's all you need to do.
- 24:10SPEAKER_00: It's as simple as that.
- 24:11SPEAKER_00: You just need to call out to Jesus.
- 24:13SPEAKER_00: The Bible says, Anyone who calls unto me, I will answer him and show him great and mighty things he knows he knows not of.
- 24:23SPEAKER_00: Hallelujah.
- 24:24SPEAKER_00: Shut that door this beautiful morning, this day, the time that you're listening to this, whatever time zone you might be in.
- 24:32SPEAKER_00: And as I said, there's no ceremony, there's no ritual.
- 24:35SPEAKER_00: Just shut that door and call out to Jesus.
- 24:37SPEAKER_00: And I want to tell you this beautiful morning.
- 24:40SPEAKER_00: He is the Lamb of God, the sinless, blemishless Lamb of God who gave up his life on a cross for you and me, for a new covenant between us and him.
- 24:52SPEAKER_00: And the day you decide to call unto him, he will answer you.
- 24:57SPEAKER_00: The Bible says he will come through that door, he will sit with you, he will sup with you, which means he will have a meal with you.
- 25:04SPEAKER_00: And if you know what it's like to have a meal with someone, you know that the only reason why you're having a meal with that person is because they're either family or they're really close friends.
- 25:12SPEAKER_00: And you know what a beautiful time that is.
- 25:15SPEAKER_00: That meal where you're laughing and joking and sharing food together.
- 25:19SPEAKER_00: That's what he wants to do with you this morning.
- 25:22SPEAKER_00: The destroyer, he has no chance.
- 25:25SPEAKER_00: Hallelujah.
- 25:26SPEAKER_00: Thank you, Lord, for his beautiful word, and I pray that it has soaked deep into your system this morning and that you will understand why Jesus came on this planet because he is the sinless Lamb of God, the promise made between God and us forever and ever, amen.
- 25:42SPEAKER_00: For us to call out to Him.
- 25:46SPEAKER_00: And He is our Father.
- 25:48SPEAKER_00: Hallelujah.
- 25:49SPEAKER_00: I'd like to pray.
- 25:51SPEAKER_00: Dear Lord, I thank you for this beautiful word, a double-edged sword that does not go back until it has achieved what it has been set out for.
- 26:05SPEAKER_00: I thank you, Jesus, for being obedient to death and death on a cross only for us.
- 26:10SPEAKER_00: I thank you, Jesus, that you have called onto us.
- 26:20SPEAKER_00: You know us by our name.
- 26:23SPEAKER_00: You have chosen us.
- 26:27SPEAKER_00: We are your sheep, and the sheep know the shepherd.
- 26:35SPEAKER_00: I thank you, Jesus, for making yourself known to us this beautiful morning.
- 26:39SPEAKER_00: Excuse me.
- 26:40SPEAKER_00: I thank you, Jesus, for hearts that are changing.
