- 1:46Speaker 4: it's going to be a warm fifty or a cold fifty,
- 1:48Speaker 4: all right, and you get blessed sometimes with the warm fifties.
- 1:52Speaker 5: But it's been it's been a what's the word I'm looking.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Reverse reverse, reverse guard.
- 1:59Speaker 4: Yeah, when it comes to that, you know, I don't
- 2:02Speaker 4: like that. I can't get involved in that. In the
- 2:05Speaker 4: words of Ryan Coogler, So I'm just looking. I'm a
- 2:08Speaker 4: summer person. I'm a I'm a I'm a I'm a
- 2:12Speaker 4: what are the people that live in the distant lands
- 2:14Speaker 4: or the sands?
- 2:14Speaker 2: Tropical?
- 2:16Speaker 5: I'm a tropical I'm a tropical people, right.
- 2:18Speaker 2: That's tropical.
- 2:21Speaker 5: So I was thinking Game of Thrones, but I'll take that.
- 2:25Speaker 5: So I was.
- 2:30Speaker 4: The niggas that live in the stand anyway, you know,
- 2:33Speaker 4: I like the warm, nice weather. So but yeah, that
- 2:38Speaker 4: I'm good otherwise, man, looking forward to the summertime, looking
- 2:41Speaker 4: forward to New York summer. Not looking forward to the
- 2:45Speaker 4: World Cup, not looking forward at all the function that's
- 2:49Speaker 4: about to happen here in terms of the you know,
- 2:51Speaker 4: commuting and dealing with it's in met life. Stadium is
- 2:57Speaker 4: happening stadium.
- 2:59Speaker 5: But you got.
- 3:00Speaker 4: People who are going to be going back and forth
- 3:01Speaker 4: between New York and Jersey and it's going to be
- 3:04Speaker 4: a problem.
- 3:05Speaker 1: So yeah, it should be hot out here. Boy, oh well,
- 3:09Speaker 1: you know, but we gonna enjoy it. Should be a
- 3:11Speaker 1: beautiful summer Brooklyn. You know, shout out to everybody out there.
- 3:14Speaker 1: You know, I'm looking good.
- 3:15Speaker 2: I'm not mad. I'm actually doing very well these days.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Hope everyone is. H Man.
- 3:21Speaker 1: It was something I just wanted to talk about right
- 3:23Speaker 1: off that that you were talking about. Besides the Game
- 3:27Speaker 1: of Thrones, trailer House of Dragons dropping, have you watched
- 3:31Speaker 1: it yet?
- 3:32Speaker 5: I did my takeaways.
- 3:35Speaker 4: I'm not looking forward to seeing Allison's face again, like
- 3:39Speaker 4: I can't.
- 3:40Speaker 5: That was one of the first times I was like,
- 3:42Speaker 5: I gotta deal with her.
- 3:43Speaker 1: I wasn't rushing to watch it because it was like
- 3:45Speaker 1: a teaser trailer rotters like whatever.
- 3:47Speaker 4: I will say, Like, it's not like, at least in
- 3:49Speaker 4: my head, it wasn't something where it's like, oh did
- 3:51Speaker 4: you see what happened in the trail?
- 3:52Speaker 5: Like it was just a continuation of the types of
- 3:54Speaker 5: trails that.
- 3:54Speaker 4: You see when they are talking about house to Dragon.
- 3:58Speaker 5: You see Riniera being a US bitch.
- 4:00Speaker 4: You see a flying around the dragon, them saying are
- 4:02Speaker 4: you sure you want this war saying yes, you know,
- 4:05Speaker 4: Damon being a miscreant.
- 4:08Speaker 5: Per usual blood fire.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Thrones.
- 4:15Speaker 5: How's a dragon?
- 4:17Speaker 2: Like you said, you know, same thing.
- 4:18Speaker 1: You know, people complaining, bitching and everybody arguing fire dragons.
- 4:24Speaker 2: But that's what I see.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Like I said, it's been a few years and I
- 4:28Speaker 1: can barely remember anybody's name. I know it's Allison and Une, right, yeah, I.
- 4:34Speaker 4: Mean that's kind of all you have to remember, right,
- 4:36Speaker 4: you know, the Greens versus the Reds, and.
- 4:38Speaker 2: I can't remember the black dude with the terrible wigs, Valerians.
- 4:41Speaker 2: I know that, right, and we said.
- 4:43Speaker 1: That, and uh yeah, sea snake, right, he was deceased, yes,
- 4:50Speaker 1: the sea snake, but he was definitely the sea snake.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Yes, there we go. Corliss, all right, Yes, it's been
- 5:01Speaker 2: a minute, man, Yeah, I know.
- 5:04Speaker 5: Because you know Raynie, Raynie resting power to ra Nie Man.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Yeah, Rainie, Yes, okay, Rainier and Rainie could always have
- 5:11Speaker 1: to confuse and now I don't have to worry about that.
- 5:13Speaker 1: It's just right, the ear left, so I ain't got
- 5:15Speaker 1: to worry about getting them confused anymore.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Raynier is the one, but.
- 5:19Speaker 1: You know Rainie is gone, you know, so I won't
- 5:22Speaker 1: get them confused anymore.
- 5:23Speaker 2: That's what I said.
- 5:23Speaker 1: I'm not I'm not going to worry about getting confused
- 5:26Speaker 1: anymore because there's only one of them.
- 5:27Speaker 2: I don't want that to mention Raine too much. Only
- 5:30Speaker 2: in flashbacks.
- 5:31Speaker 1: So Raynier sent her son to get eight, right, that's
- 5:34Speaker 1: my that's my stance.
- 5:37Speaker 4: That's what your stance was. That's not what she did.
- 5:39Speaker 4: That wasn't her attention. But that's what your stance was.
- 5:42Speaker 4: You were like, okay, and we all agreed that it
- 5:45Speaker 4: was reckless in terms of the the the current political
- 5:49Speaker 4: heir that you would literally you will allow.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Would you send your son to the straight of Hormorrows
- 5:54Speaker 2: right now.
- 5:55Speaker 5: To the trade of horror moves now?
- 5:56Speaker 2: No, see what I'm saying, you know, would you send
- 5:59Speaker 2: them out there? I was like, right now, you know, yeah,
- 6:02Speaker 2: if you.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Know, if you were like, no, you're gonna go over
- 6:04Speaker 1: there and talk us out.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Nah, Like, let somebody else's do that ship, you know
- 6:10Speaker 2: what I mean?
- 6:12Speaker 1: Or I'm sending over him, you know, knowing what's throwing
- 6:15Speaker 1: down like that.
- 6:17Speaker 2: You know, she did not send that boy out.
- 6:18Speaker 5: There knowing I come on, come on.
- 6:23Speaker 1: She might not have attended to but you know, intention
- 6:26Speaker 1: in the end doesn't really.
- 6:28Speaker 4: Matter what I all, I really care about because they
- 6:31Speaker 4: completely like removed him from any narrative with Adam of Hole.
- 6:36Speaker 5: That was the other black guy.
- 6:38Speaker 4: So the other black guy with the black dreads that
- 6:41Speaker 4: has Valerian or or Targarian blood.
- 6:43Speaker 5: In him, that ended up with one of the dragons.
- 6:46Speaker 4: They still never surfaced that guy, don't you remember he
- 6:48Speaker 4: was running from the dragon. The dragon was like, oh
- 6:51Speaker 4: you can, you can, and then he ended up they
- 6:54Speaker 4: ended up connecting and dragon bonding and ship.
- 6:57Speaker 5: After that, you ain't never seen him show up ever.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Well, he'll definitely show up. And was he in the trailer?
- 7:02Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Corlis is talking to another black dude. Can they put
- 7:07Speaker 1: the two black people together? So that's his son, right,
- 7:12Speaker 1: Ain't that Cordless's son, Adam of Hole? Yeah?
- 7:16Speaker 5: Ain't that the one who one of him and his
- 7:18Speaker 5: brother were basket? Oh?
- 7:19Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yes, yes, yes, that's he's the son
- 7:21Speaker 1: of because he's shaving his head all the time to
- 7:23Speaker 1: hide his.
- 7:24Speaker 4: White No, that's that's the other guy, the one that's
- 7:26Speaker 4: shaving his head all the time.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Oh he didn't get the dragon.
- 7:29Speaker 4: No, Adam with the locks allan of Hole. That is
- 7:36Speaker 4: the ball guy that always shaves because weeps.
- 7:38Speaker 2: We yeah, because a hole that he because.
- 7:42Speaker 4: Because they're bastards. We surmise that. Yeah, he has silver
- 7:49Speaker 4: hair and that's why.
- 7:51Speaker 2: He shaves it.
- 7:52Speaker 4: Like you said, like Egg, shout out to Duncan Egg
- 7:54Speaker 4: the shirt I'm wearing right now. I'll definitely make sure
- 7:56Speaker 4: you go to four owners dot com so you can
- 7:58Speaker 4: rep and prepare for the return of House of Dragon.
- 8:02Speaker 5: Make sure you do that.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Available now at four all nerds dot com.
- 8:07Speaker 6: The Gucci Mandalorian, the variants, the Duncan Egg, the Lion
- 8:12Speaker 6: old and new designs coming soon. Yeah, and all the
- 8:16Speaker 6: Game of Thrones, you know, autumn Ships, House of Dragons?
- 8:21Speaker 5: Is that the s that we added on?
- 8:24Speaker 1: Always Houses of Dragons? If you really want to be
- 8:27Speaker 1: blackish about it, you know, I go all the way.
- 8:30Speaker 4: Oh yeah, So so that's that you don't care about it?
- 8:35Speaker 2: That's fine, No, like, you know, we got castle, yeah,
- 8:39Speaker 2: but you about the trailer, so whatever, you know.
- 8:40Speaker 1: But I knew that I wouldn't be too about the
- 8:42Speaker 1: trailer because it's not gonna show too much.
- 8:44Speaker 2: I did like that.
- 8:45Speaker 1: I mean, there were some dope shots, like that shot
- 8:47Speaker 1: of the three guys in armor swinging sores around and
- 8:50Speaker 1: that was fire. That was a dope, bad shot. The
- 8:52Speaker 1: shot of Daymon with blood all on his face. Look,
- 8:55Speaker 1: you know, I'm like, okay, whatever's going down and that
- 8:57Speaker 1: state is going down. But other than that, it was
- 8:59Speaker 1: just like, okay, cool, let's let's see if this season
- 9:01Speaker 1: finally steps it up, because I thought last season was
- 9:04Speaker 1: so bit that's my old today.
- 9:06Speaker 2: You know.
- 9:06Speaker 1: It wasn't like I'm like, oh you know, and I
- 9:08Speaker 1: was like, lasts, admit, what else we got going on man.
- 9:12Speaker 1: You know well our YouTube, you know well, first of
- 9:15Speaker 1: all on YouTube, shout out to Waving the Red Flag.

- 9:26Speaker 1: We joined up for them to do the Invincible reviews.
- 9:29Speaker 1: So you can peep that on both of our channels,
- 9:32Speaker 1: on for All Nerds and on Waving the Red Flag.
- 9:34Speaker 2: If you haven't checked their podcasts out. Made sure you do.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Very dope brothers, you know, talking relationships, geek stuff, all
- 9:41Speaker 1: kinds of different stuff, popping channel. Make sure you go
- 9:44Speaker 1: over there and hit the follow as well as.
- 9:45Speaker 4: You know, and then you're And let me just say
- 9:48Speaker 4: for the conversation, I really appreciate Eddie, Like that's my
- 9:50Speaker 4: type of conversation man.
- 9:52Speaker 5: You know, a little bit of nigga shit, a lot
- 9:55Speaker 5: of bit of analysis.
- 9:58Speaker 2: And I was told I was yelling on that one.
- 10:00Speaker 1: I didn't realize a yelling, you know people I lived with,
- 10:04Speaker 1: you know, I was told.
- 10:05Speaker 2: That I was.
- 10:06Speaker 5: Well, it wasn't.
- 10:07Speaker 4: It was a very passionate conversation and we all had
- 10:09Speaker 4: our views, we all had our agreements and disagreements, but
- 10:12Speaker 4: it was it was a discussion.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought we was.
- 10:16Speaker 5: Really chopping it up, so maybe it was type I
- 10:19Speaker 5: don't know. I didn't.
- 10:19Speaker 4: Then again, I speak at a level ten at all time,
- 10:22Speaker 4: so I didn't.
- 10:23Speaker 5: I can't tell if you're yelling.
- 10:24Speaker 1: So yeah, now I was definitely hype. You know, we
- 10:26Speaker 1: talked about everything. I'm actually going to do another video
- 10:29Speaker 1: to address and review some of the points I made
- 10:32Speaker 1: on there, because we were discussing the Vultrumites an't invincible,
- 10:37Speaker 1: and I was basically saying that they are comparable to
- 10:41Speaker 1: certain societies on Earth. Namely, I'd say Western civilization to
- 10:45Speaker 1: the rest of the world might be the Viltrumites of
- 10:48Speaker 1: the world.
- 10:49Speaker 5: Listen. That reminds me.
- 10:51Speaker 4: Did you I don't know if it was air generator
- 10:52Speaker 4: or not, but did you see on threads maybe a
- 10:55Speaker 4: week or so ago where they said on some Japanese
- 10:59Speaker 4: forum a person wrote about how they are fearful of
- 11:03Speaker 4: black people and they compared us to Viltrumites.
- 11:06Speaker 2: Oh, yes, I did.
- 11:07Speaker 5: Did you just see that?
- 11:08Speaker 4: And I and I guess, like I have wrote, I
- 11:10Speaker 4: guess I'm there, you know, not nag naive, what's the word.
- 11:14Speaker 4: I guess I'm immature because I just started laughing, like
- 11:17Speaker 4: I like, as you read it, like, they were very descriptive,
- 11:20Speaker 4: descriptive and dead ass about like, oh, I feel like
- 11:24Speaker 4: they can hit me and with one blow and I'll
- 11:26Speaker 4: pass away. And I was just like, it's it was
- 11:30Speaker 4: just a level of ridiculous that was comical for me.
- 11:33Speaker 4: And no, it's not funny, but it's also it's funny
- 11:37Speaker 4: like and I'm just saying that's a very highly z
- 11:40Speaker 4: xenophobic country anyway, and there's a lot going on there.
- 11:44Speaker 4: But it was just like wow, the levels I mean,
- 11:47Speaker 4: it was like a full blown fairy tale about how
- 11:50Speaker 4: they felt. They was like, oh my god, a lot
- 11:52Speaker 4: of them are moving in and I'm concerned about my
- 11:56Speaker 4: health and well being. And and then you know what
- 11:59Speaker 4: I just thought it probably thought about probably like the
- 12:01Speaker 4: black character Viltu might like, does that Vulture might know
- 12:05Speaker 4: he's black? Like, because I guess when you come there
- 12:08Speaker 4: and Viltrum, I guess because they, you know, they never
- 12:11Speaker 4: to me make distinctions.
- 12:12Speaker 5: I wonder if what you get here, they'd be like, oh,
- 12:14Speaker 5: you know, you're a nigga. And then what happened And
- 12:17Speaker 5: that's another thing? And is it that?
- 12:19Speaker 4: No, And I understand that's because of this is the
- 12:22Speaker 4: current US reality that I'm speaking from. But does it matter,
- 12:26Speaker 4: like what galaxy or universe you come from? The minute
- 12:29Speaker 4: you hear in America you a nigga?
- 12:34Speaker 2: Like really does it matter? What do you mean?
- 12:38Speaker 4: Like it's just like, oh no, just the fact that
- 12:40Speaker 4: like and you come from again just keeping in line
- 12:44Speaker 4: with from a US white supremacist perspective, like you come
- 12:49Speaker 4: from a place where that's not even recognized, like that
- 12:51Speaker 4: that's not a concept.
- 12:53Speaker 5: There's no black or white. Everybody's just a viltru might.
- 12:55Speaker 4: And you come here and the first thing people see
- 12:57Speaker 4: is you a nigga, never mind that you're a literal
- 13:00Speaker 4: alien from another planet, from another galaxy.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Yeah, well two things there, Like one we see it
- 13:05Speaker 1: on the show when we see Anissa having to react
- 13:08Speaker 1: to men being that she's a woman and a female
- 13:12Speaker 1: for Vulchmight, who is you know, could tear these people's
- 13:15Speaker 1: heads off in an instant and men are now ugling
- 13:18Speaker 1: her and giving her the eye and ship and she
- 13:20Speaker 1: has to deal with that, and we see that in
- 13:22Speaker 1: the show.
- 13:22Speaker 5: Does she have to deal with her? That's what she
- 13:23Speaker 5: wants because you know, no, no.
- 13:26Speaker 1: No, Anissa is as and that that's a plot point
- 13:29Speaker 1: for later Readers in a comic will certainly understand. That
- 13:33Speaker 1: is why they show that scene where she is repulsed.
- 13:36Speaker 1: But these men are pathetic to her. I mean, imagine
- 13:41Speaker 1: how pathetic. You know a lot of men appear to
- 13:42Speaker 1: most women on Earth. You know, I feel, I feel them.
- 13:45Speaker 1: But look at someone like that, you know, having to
- 13:48Speaker 1: deal with men. You know, I say, men are trash
- 13:50Speaker 1: all the time. So imagine her looking at men and
- 13:52Speaker 1: it's like, oh my god, I could three all niggas
- 13:55Speaker 1: like you know, why am I?
- 13:57Speaker 2: You know, even having to entertain?
- 13:59Speaker 1: And Thrag has told her she not only has entertaining,
- 14:02Speaker 1: but actually has to have relations with these pathetic humans.
- 14:06Speaker 2: That's how she's looking at it.
- 14:07Speaker 4: But don't they also feel that way with every other
- 14:10Speaker 4: life form in the galaxy.
- 14:12Speaker 5: Everyone's lower than them everyone, And.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Then there grows to that point.
- 14:15Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying about my man who is black
- 14:17Speaker 1: whose name I can't remember, the black beltrum Ite right now,
- 14:20Speaker 1: Imagine when me and you have both been to Africa,
- 14:23Speaker 1: and when you come Luke, yeah, Lucian, and when you
- 14:27Speaker 1: come back from Africa and you have to deal with
- 14:31Speaker 1: this society again, it's a jarring thing. You know, It's
- 14:36Speaker 1: been for me, Like I've been in Ethiopia for you know,
- 14:38Speaker 1: one time, I was there for like two months and
- 14:40Speaker 1: I came home and it was like, you know, it's
- 14:44Speaker 1: heartbreaking almost because I spent two months of not having
- 14:49Speaker 1: to deal with this society, you know, of not having
- 14:52Speaker 1: to consider every moment of my life when I'm outside,
- 14:57Speaker 1: you know that I'm a black person, you know, and
- 14:59Speaker 1: be these type of movements every time I get in
- 15:02Speaker 1: the car, you know, just all the things that go
- 15:04Speaker 1: with life as a black person in America. For two months,
- 15:07Speaker 1: I didn't have to consider it. So, yeah, someone like
- 15:11Speaker 1: Lucia when he comes to Earth and it has to
- 15:12Speaker 1: get in the car and it's just driving along and
- 15:15Speaker 1: sometime someday a cop pulls him over and he's like,
- 15:17Speaker 1: why did the cop pull me over? And then you know,
- 15:20Speaker 1: and then he understands shit, and he can't punch the
- 15:22Speaker 1: dude's head off.
- 15:23Speaker 2: You know.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Yeah, it's going to be a very jarring experience for him.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Like it's going to be horrific. And I don't think
- 15:32Speaker 1: you know, the writers of Evincent are going to get
- 15:33Speaker 1: that deep on the show as even Robert Cartman has
- 15:36Speaker 1: admitted I saw him admitting an interview recently, he was like,
- 15:39Speaker 1: when I started this book, I was like twenty two
- 15:41Speaker 1: year old white dude, you know, and so I didn't
- 15:44Speaker 1: know shit. I just kept introducing white male characters one
- 15:47Speaker 1: after the other, and you know, I wouldn't think twice
- 15:48Speaker 1: about it. Every new character reintroduced with a white male character.
- 15:52Speaker 1: And so now they've done things like Tet Jacket. They
- 15:54Speaker 1: changed Tet that tech Jacket's gender on the show because
- 15:58Speaker 1: now she's a woman, because she.
- 16:00Speaker 5: It wasn't a woman before.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Oh no, it's a little dude, you know, and it was.
- 16:04Speaker 1: And the weird thing is someone pointed this out on Readita.
- 16:07Speaker 1: They were like, and he looks almost like invincible, and
- 16:09Speaker 1: it's true, like he's you know, black hair everything. So
- 16:13Speaker 1: it was hard to even tell them. Was that just
- 16:15Speaker 1: lack of creativity, It's just in lack of exposure.
- 16:19Speaker 2: You know.
- 16:19Speaker 1: You have to understand, Robert Kirkman is a white dude
- 16:21Speaker 1: from where's he from, Like Middle America somewhere like white white,
- 16:25Speaker 1: you know where That's all he knew, you know. And
- 16:28Speaker 1: he's a young white dude where that's all he knew
- 16:30Speaker 1: so he's just writing from what he knows, which is white.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Oh shit, sorry to interrupt real quick. PSA, a lot
- 16:37Speaker 1: of y'all watch this channel and you don't hit the
- 16:39Speaker 1: like or the subscribe button. Help out for our nerds,
- 16:43Speaker 1: hit the like, hit the subscribe button, join the fan fam,
- 16:47Speaker 1: do it now, and we'll get right back to this video.
- 16:50Speaker 2: And back to the point.
- 16:51Speaker 1: The whole thing about Japan seeing black people as viltrumites,
- 16:56Speaker 1: and we see how America sees black people.
- 16:59Speaker 2: You know, that's the thing. It's like how the world
- 17:01Speaker 2: sees black people.
- 17:02Speaker 1: You've always been seen as superhuman, We've always been seen
- 17:05Speaker 1: this way.
- 17:06Speaker 2: We're always terrifying. You know.
- 17:08Speaker 1: The world is the way it is because when them
- 17:11Speaker 1: cats came out the caves and.
- 17:12Speaker 2: Saw the rest of the world was brown, they were like,
- 17:14Speaker 2: what the fuck?
- 17:15Speaker 5: You know?
- 17:15Speaker 2: And here we.
- 17:17Speaker 1: Are now in the cave then and yeah, and you
- 17:21Speaker 1: know it's I saw somebody say this on Threats too.
- 17:24Speaker 1: It's like, so much of everything boils down to like
- 17:28Speaker 1: white people, and I guess it starts with white men's
- 17:31Speaker 1: obsession with black men's genitals.
- 17:35Speaker 5: So we please move on.
- 17:36Speaker 1: That's a conversation people are not ready to have please please,
- 17:41Speaker 1: you know, speaking of black men's genitalis, I heard you
- 17:47Speaker 1: saw the.
- 17:52Speaker 4: That is the most horrible, ridiculous, self serving segue.
- 18:05Speaker 5: Asshole as well.
- 18:06Speaker 1: But yeah, so you know, my man did used to
- 18:10Speaker 1: grab his balls a lot. That was you know, look, no, look,
- 18:14Speaker 1: as a kid who grew up on Michael Jackson, let
- 18:16Speaker 1: me say this, that was I remember, like, you know,
- 18:18Speaker 1: I had to ask my mom like, yo, why is
- 18:21Speaker 1: he grabbing his nuts so much?
- 18:22Speaker 2: Like because it didn't you know, he didn't do that
- 18:25Speaker 2: all the time.
- 18:25Speaker 1: And then it's like around the Bad era, my man
- 18:28Speaker 1: just started, you know, going forward, and I was like,
- 18:32Speaker 1: grew up, he grew up, and I guess I was
- 18:34Speaker 1: a kid like what, you know, because that was something
- 18:38Speaker 1: in that era, like men used to grab the junk,
- 18:40Speaker 1: you know, it used to be like what the.
- 18:42Speaker 5: As a kid, Yes, yes, you were a kid and
- 18:44Speaker 5: that was something from the era for men. You weren't
- 18:46Speaker 5: a man.
- 18:48Speaker 4: Even now, I'm like, I don't why we're having this conversation,
- 18:52Speaker 4: he edited out. You asked me a question, Yes, but
- 18:56Speaker 4: I mean I saw the MG movie, did you.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Oh, I'm not very interested.
- 19:03Speaker 1: I probably will at some point, but as someone who
- 19:07Speaker 1: grew up on Michael Jackson, like, I had the utmost
- 19:12Speaker 1: joy and honor I guess whatever you want to call it.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Him getting to see that man perform live during the Yeah,
- 19:19Speaker 1: it's one of the greatest moments in my life as
- 19:21Speaker 1: a kid man. We had seats that were like utterly
- 19:25Speaker 1: top Like I think there was one person behind us, right,
- 19:29Speaker 1: that's how high opened the stadium. We work right one
- 19:32Speaker 1: row behind us, Me and my mom. We're sitting up
- 19:34Speaker 1: there right before the show starts. True story, y'all, this
- 19:37Speaker 1: is fucking today.
- 19:40Speaker 2: I can't.
- 19:40Speaker 1: I had to confirm with my mom that just happened
- 19:42Speaker 1: once I grew up, because I was like, this couldn't happen.
- 19:45Speaker 1: As I remember, we're sitting there waiting for the show
- 19:47Speaker 1: to start. Some man comes walking up the aisle and says, hey,
- 19:52Speaker 1: I've got two tickets. Who wants to move up? No
- 19:55Speaker 1: one says anything. My mom, being just like me, is like,
- 19:59Speaker 1: I'll take.
- 19:59Speaker 2: The I'll take it.
- 20:02Speaker 1: We were side of the stage, like two rows up
- 20:06Speaker 1: from the stage.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Wow, Like you know, perfect view?
- 20:10Speaker 1: You know that, you know when you got them right
- 20:12Speaker 1: to the left the right of the stage and you're
- 20:13Speaker 1: right a little in front of it, you know, what
- 20:16Speaker 1: I mean. So you got the diadal right at the stage,
- 20:18Speaker 1: you know, nobody really above, you know, you can see
- 20:21Speaker 1: every frigging thing that you know. We went from up
- 20:25Speaker 1: there to down there, and I saw Michael Jackson's whole
- 20:28Speaker 1: Bad Tour live. I remember just like floating, did you say.
- 20:33Speaker 1: I just remember the drive home. My Mom's driving, and
- 20:36Speaker 1: I just was floating, like Man and Mirror, Like it's
- 20:39Speaker 1: all these moments, like I remember he leaves the stage
- 20:42Speaker 1: for like ten minutes and Slash.
- 20:44Speaker 2: I didn't even know Slash, but it was Slash.
- 20:47Speaker 1: There's a guitar solo out there, and I just remember
- 20:50Speaker 1: it felt like I was on drugs because yeah, as
- 20:53Speaker 1: a little kid, because Slash was just absolutely destroying this shit.
- 20:57Speaker 1: And I just remember thinking, how is this one man
- 21:00Speaker 1: all alone on stage and he's just playing guitar and
- 21:03Speaker 1: he's just complete control of everything, you know, and it
- 21:06Speaker 1: was just like what and then Michaels Michael. You know,
- 21:09Speaker 1: It's like I said, Man in the Mirror was just
- 21:11Speaker 1: ringing in my head for you know, years after that,
- 21:14Speaker 1: probably like just seeing him, you know, it's it was unreal.
- 21:19Speaker 1: It was absolutely unreal. So I have a different you know, experience.
- 21:24Speaker 1: I grew up on this, dude, you know, Yeah, it's
- 21:27Speaker 1: DJ everything.
- 21:28Speaker 5: I get it.
- 21:29Speaker 4: And I also I'm just like, just like with any
- 21:33Speaker 4: story that's told about someone you may have grown up
- 21:35Speaker 4: with or have a lot of firsthand experience with, it's
- 21:38Speaker 4: still another telling of that, and it's more like, it's
- 21:41Speaker 4: more it's less about because my mom even says something similar,
- 21:44Speaker 4: She's like, well, I grew up with the Jackson and
- 21:45Speaker 4: I'm just like, all right, but this is a different
- 21:48Speaker 4: take on the experience, right, So same with this Michael
- 21:51Speaker 4: Jackson movie is just another perspective of his life, right.
- 21:55Speaker 1: And you saw the mini series right back and the yeah, the.
- 21:59Speaker 4: American Dream mini series was I know that was Angelabastad
- 22:05Speaker 4: in them, and what's his name?
- 22:07Speaker 2: Say?
- 22:07Speaker 5: Flex? Is that the one with flexor? Was that? It
- 22:09Speaker 5: was a third one?
- 22:11Speaker 1: No, I've never seen that reflex. I just started seeing
- 22:13Speaker 1: the clips on it on Threads one.
- 22:16Speaker 4: There was because there's a lot of people, some people
- 22:18Speaker 4: don't know this that there's been multiple MJ biopics done,
- 22:22Speaker 4: and there was the one in America Dreamed that most
- 22:24Speaker 4: people will will reference first because that was the.
- 22:27Speaker 2: Weaver Jason Weaver, Right, that's Jason Weaver. Yeah, yeah, he
- 22:30Speaker 2: played young and that ship that.
- 22:33Speaker 5: Then there's one that had Flex Alexander in it.
- 22:36Speaker 1: I didn't know he had a last day. I know
- 22:40Speaker 1: he has the last name, but I just you know Flex.
- 22:42Speaker 5: I mean it's a it's an old meme now, but
- 22:44Speaker 5: I like the one.
- 22:44Speaker 4: It's like the it's like his picture of him and
- 22:46Speaker 4: then it has the X over him trying to say
- 22:48Speaker 4: no flex soon so but the one is him anyway.
- 22:53Speaker 4: The point is that there's been a lot of approaches
- 22:55Speaker 4: in a tent with.
- 22:56Speaker 2: Him is wild.
- 22:57Speaker 5: I need wow, it's super terrible. It's terrible.
- 23:01Speaker 2: You've seen it, yes.
- 23:04Speaker 5: So because it was on TV.
- 23:07Speaker 2: I didn't know it existed until the other day.
- 23:08Speaker 4: The point is there are a lot of different approaches
- 23:11Speaker 4: and views, and I understand people like not necessarily I'm
- 23:14Speaker 4: not saying you, but people may not necessarily care or
- 23:19Speaker 4: take entertainment into that because they feel like, well, I
- 23:21Speaker 4: have the firsthand experience and cool.
- 23:23Speaker 5: I like biography, I understand. I like biopics. I like documentaries.
- 23:28Speaker 4: I like seeing approaches to how people address someone's life,
- 23:32Speaker 4: especially when it has any new information in it. With
- 23:36Speaker 4: an MJ movie, I got a little bit of new information,
- 23:39Speaker 4: but it was really primarily for fans, and it was
- 23:42Speaker 4: really primarily to exalt Michael. If I won't, I will
- 23:47Speaker 4: say this, it did not dig deep into the the negative.
- 23:54Speaker 4: They touched upon some of the negatives of his early life.
- 23:59Speaker 3: Did.
- 24:00Speaker 4: First of all, the movie stops in like eighty eight
- 24:03Speaker 4: or whenever the Bad Tour the World Tour started, whether
- 24:07Speaker 4: that was eight eight or ninety whatever year that was,
- 24:09Speaker 4: It stops there, and so you don't even get to
- 24:12Speaker 4: see what happened in the nineties. And then the whole
- 24:14Speaker 4: blow up with the allegations, and they see none of
- 24:19Speaker 4: that yet they show the pepsi stuff, and then they
- 24:24Speaker 4: get up to when he when he broke away from
- 24:25Speaker 4: the brothers and did the world Tour, and then that's it.
- 24:29Speaker 5: It's centered on his come up.
- 24:31Speaker 4: It's center has come up as a child, as a
- 24:33Speaker 4: young adult, primarily as well the young boy and I
- 24:37Speaker 4: want to make sure I find his name, but the
- 24:39Speaker 4: the young boy that plays him as a kid, incredible,
- 24:44Speaker 4: absolutely incredible Giuliana Valdi.
- 24:48Speaker 5: Okay, whatever wherever they found.
- 24:51Speaker 4: This boy, they need to keep digging at that well,
- 24:53Speaker 4: because that is a well of talent and just natural ability.
- 24:58Speaker 4: Because he And that's what I mean when I'm like
- 25:00Speaker 4: for people like who say that, well, you know, I
- 25:02Speaker 4: see it, but you don't see what when someone's portraying
- 25:06Speaker 4: someone else and they portray that person with such a reverence,
- 25:09Speaker 4: that and a reverence more so that, especially with certain
- 25:12Speaker 4: luminaries like Mike, you'll never see again. You will absolutely
- 25:17Speaker 4: never ever ever ever see a Michael Jackson ever again. No,
- 25:21Speaker 4: so when you are, at least for me, when you're
- 25:24Speaker 4: watching things like this where people who are portraying elements
- 25:30Speaker 4: of the person of MJ in this instance, and they
- 25:34Speaker 4: have pieces of that magic, you go, oh my god,
- 25:38Speaker 4: like what is this because you don't you've never seen
- 25:41Speaker 4: the full after he passed. You'll never see that complete
- 25:44Speaker 4: picture ever again, but you might start seeing elements right,
- 25:47Speaker 4: and when you do, it's special. And that's why when
- 25:50Speaker 4: I say, when we were talking about from the beginning,
- 25:53Speaker 4: Juliana Valdi, him as young Michael killed absolutely Coleman, don't
- 25:59Speaker 4: mean as Joe Jackson when I say, brother, that man
- 26:05Speaker 4: scared me in every scene he showed up.
- 26:07Speaker 5: And I was legitimate like like I was, I was
- 26:10Speaker 5: very not only nervous for the characters. I was nervous
- 26:12Speaker 5: for me, like, damn.
- 26:14Speaker 4: Let me not get too loud in this fucking theater,
- 26:17Speaker 4: or Joe gonna jump out the screen and beat me.
- 26:20Speaker 4: That's how I like it, called me to acting. But no,
- 26:23Speaker 4: he really embodied Joseph. And that's another thing. These people
- 26:27Speaker 4: who were cast embodied the main characters that they embodied
- 26:32Speaker 4: deep embodiment, deep and not just act like Jaffar who
- 26:38Speaker 4: plays Michael, Jaffar Jackson, Michael's Michael's few who was one
- 26:43Speaker 4: of Jermaine or the only I don't know if you
- 26:44Speaker 4: have if there's more Jermaine's sons. It was more than
- 26:47Speaker 4: just embodiment. It was damn near like being possessed.
- 26:53Speaker 5: By the spirit of that character. Ja'far was fucking possessed.
- 26:57Speaker 4: At there were times like, yes, there there a clear
- 27:01Speaker 4: facial you know, similarities and dissemilaries, right, you know that's
- 27:06Speaker 4: not Michael. At the same time there was that as
- 27:09Speaker 4: I mentioned that level of magic and connection where there
- 27:14Speaker 4: was a lined blurred. It was as if Michael himself
- 27:18Speaker 4: lent his life force and said, you can borrow this
- 27:21Speaker 4: for a little bit to show people who I was,
- 27:24Speaker 4: to tell my story. At least that's what they want
- 27:26Speaker 4: you to do and again, to me, this movie, this biopic,
- 27:30Speaker 4: this version of the biopic, was more about for the
- 27:33Speaker 4: fans of Michael that wanted to see something about his
- 27:37Speaker 4: life done in a very respectful way.
- 27:40Speaker 5: I will.
- 27:40Speaker 4: And from a fan perspective, you're gonna get all of that.
- 27:43Speaker 4: You're gonna get They hit all the major beats just
- 27:47Speaker 4: again up until the point of his first World tour.
- 27:50Speaker 4: They hit they They do full fucking songs of the
- 27:53Speaker 4: some of the major I mean, as from a fan,
- 27:56Speaker 4: you're gonna be satiated. From a critics perspective, this is
- 28:00Speaker 4: where I get on my professional hat. It is just
- 28:03Speaker 4: an okay movie. And by that I mean, and I
- 28:08Speaker 4: think that's part of because it when my expectations, like,
- 28:13Speaker 4: because this was so well promoted, so well cast, seemingly
- 28:18Speaker 4: so before I until I got there, so well I
- 28:20Speaker 4: assumed to be written that I'm like, Oh, they're really
- 28:23Speaker 4: gonna touch upon the subjects, like they're really gonna touch
- 28:26Speaker 4: upon the controversy and give us a different glimpse of
- 28:31Speaker 4: why you know that either wasn't fair or was fair
- 28:34Speaker 4: or whatever the case is.
- 28:35Speaker 5: And they didn't really do that. They grazed, they grazed.
- 28:39Speaker 5: There were certain and also they made you fill in
- 28:42Speaker 5: the blanks.
- 28:42Speaker 4: And I think if you were as a fan of
- 28:44Speaker 4: you saw American Dream and you've been following Michael, and
- 28:46Speaker 4: you know who Michael is and most of his story,
- 28:49Speaker 4: you were able to readily fill in the blanks.
- 28:52Speaker 2: Yep.
- 28:53Speaker 4: As someone who's just new to it, you might just
- 28:55Speaker 4: be like, oh, like everything would have been new to you, right,
- 28:58Speaker 4: But from a critical perspective, it didn't deliver on everything.
- 29:05Speaker 4: And Coleman and Nia even said like, that wasn't their point.
- 29:09Speaker 4: Their point was to give you to steep you in
- 29:14Speaker 4: the come up and upbringing of Michael. But they have deliberately,
- 29:19Speaker 4: whether because of legal reasons or otherwise, left out certain things.
- 29:22Speaker 4: Right Like just for example, like they touch upon to
- 29:27Speaker 4: enough degree to touch upon the abuse you see that happening.
- 29:30Speaker 4: They don't go on to death about how it affected
- 29:32Speaker 4: everybody else in the family, but you see how much
- 29:36Speaker 4: it was centered on Michael, Right, you see Joe's fucking
- 29:40Speaker 4: ridiculousness and his narcissistic negativity and abuse and all of
- 29:46Speaker 4: the stuff that he's imparting upon everybody. You see everyone
- 29:49Speaker 4: else on the outside, like you can infer a lot
- 29:52Speaker 4: just by paying attention. But if you really wanted like
- 29:55Speaker 4: the minute details, like like why did that happen? What
- 29:59Speaker 4: exactly this person think, they don't go into it. And
- 30:01Speaker 4: then because of legal reasons, there's certain characters who don't
- 30:04Speaker 4: ever even appear.
- 30:05Speaker 5: There is no mention show or or or.
- 30:08Speaker 4: Reference to Janet Jackson, for example, that's because she opted out.
- 30:13Speaker 5: I don't know about the other sister, but probably the
- 30:15Speaker 5: same situation.
- 30:16Speaker 2: LaToya is in it, right, LaToya is in it.
- 30:18Speaker 5: She's the only she's only guess, and if you don't
- 30:22Speaker 5: know nothing about life, you would have thought he only
- 30:23Speaker 5: had LaToya.
- 30:24Speaker 4: And that's why I'm just saying where it's just like
- 30:26Speaker 4: if that kind of depends on where in the general
- 30:28Speaker 4: generational timeline you've been in and how much education on
- 30:33Speaker 4: Michael you've had.
- 30:34Speaker 1: That's so crazy because in addition to seeing Michael, I
- 30:38Speaker 1: also got to see Janet on the Rhythm Nation tour,
- 30:40Speaker 1: and it's you know, it was like it wasn't until
- 30:43Speaker 1: Beyonced I saw another woman do a show like that,
- 30:45Speaker 1: you know, right like you right side.
- 30:50Speaker 4: Even though even though Beyonce again will never be Michael,
- 30:53Speaker 4: she's the closest we're ever gonna get and she is
- 30:55Speaker 4: the last. She's the last, the last, You're never because
- 30:59Speaker 4: the error is gone, is gone of what.
- 31:02Speaker 5: Is the book that we can in?
- 31:03Speaker 4: The divine God level tier artists is done.
- 31:10Speaker 2: And over with.
- 31:11Speaker 1: It's more so it's like the I'm not sure if
- 31:15Speaker 1: that level you might be right on fo the levels.
- 31:18Speaker 4: Don't over and I want people to understand that, and
- 31:20Speaker 4: like that's gonna be another argument we could argue about
- 31:22Speaker 4: it in the.
- 31:22Speaker 1: No no, no, yeah, no, to help to jump on what
- 31:27Speaker 1: you're saying. It's the same thing that when people talk
- 31:30Speaker 1: about Michael Jordan, right, it's Michael Jordan will always be
- 31:33Speaker 1: revered and thought of as Michael Jordan because of the
- 31:36Speaker 1: circumstances of when Michael Jordan became Michael Jordan, because there
- 31:41Speaker 1: was no Internet, there was none of this other stuff,
- 31:44Speaker 1: so it was like the mystique of Michael Jordan. He
- 31:46Speaker 1: was the only one, et cetera, et cetera. You know,
- 31:49Speaker 1: there was Sports Center all that wasn't even around, so
- 31:52Speaker 1: all the attention was on it. It's just like Michael
- 31:55Speaker 1: Jackson is another one. There will never be where everyone's
- 31:59Speaker 1: attention is on one person.
- 32:01Speaker 4: Like you're talking about on a global scale, five billion million,
- 32:05Speaker 4: like I.
- 32:07Speaker 5: Wish it was an exaggeration.
- 32:08Speaker 4: And and like you said, you grew up with Michael,
- 32:10Speaker 4: I grew Micael in a different capacity, you know. I
- 32:12Speaker 4: never I didn't go go on you show or anything
- 32:14Speaker 4: like that, because he was much older and it was different.
- 32:16Speaker 4: But the fact that I still grew up with him,
- 32:17Speaker 4: I was educated on him and all his music, and
- 32:20Speaker 4: I'm trying to do the same for.
- 32:21Speaker 5: The next generation.
- 32:22Speaker 4: Like about what did you see there's on a global scale?
- 32:28Speaker 4: There's no, There's no, And I honestly, because of the circumstances,
- 32:32Speaker 4: you will never see that again. This is not shitting
- 32:35Speaker 4: on your favorite artists. Is not saying another artist isn't big.
- 32:39Speaker 4: It's just different levels that are unattainable now because it
- 32:42Speaker 4: was a different circumstance for that particular artist to come up,
- 32:45Speaker 4: and the scale of come up it's different.
- 32:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I just like you're right.
- 32:52Speaker 1: I've often said to Beyonce, is you know because I
- 32:55Speaker 1: saw and like I saw her performing Ethiopia, so I
- 32:59Speaker 1: saw her, like, you know, do a global thing where
- 33:02Speaker 1: it was and then I was in Ethiopia when Drunken Love,
- 33:06Speaker 1: when that album dropped, when you know, the world stopped
- 33:09Speaker 1: and I was in Ethiopia and the DJ and Ethiopia,
- 33:13Speaker 1: and the next night every fucking woman in the club
- 33:16Speaker 1: came up demand.
- 33:17Speaker 2: And I played songs off that album like it was.
- 33:20Speaker 1: You know, I'd never seen something like that, And I
- 33:23Speaker 1: don't think we ever will again, like you said.
- 33:24Speaker 4: You never will, Like she's the she's the last of that.
- 33:27Speaker 4: She's the last of that because she also came up
- 33:29Speaker 4: at least part of her.
- 33:30Speaker 5: Life because of her age. She came up before.
- 33:33Speaker 4: And then a certain circumstance where it would have been
- 33:35Speaker 4: impossible for anyone coming forward.
- 33:37Speaker 2: Now.
- 33:37Speaker 5: Technology is different, social.
- 33:39Speaker 4: Is different, economy is so different, globalization is there. But yeah,
- 33:46Speaker 4: it's just different and it has nothing to do like again,
- 33:49Speaker 4: it's not a it's not saying nothing bad about your
- 33:52Speaker 4: favorite artists and they this and.
- 33:53Speaker 5: Say that, No, no, not the same.
- 33:55Speaker 4: All that to say, just to close up this, this
- 33:58Speaker 4: my my thoughts about the MG movie. It does end, like,
- 34:03Speaker 4: especially as a fan, like when it's over, like this
- 34:05Speaker 4: lady who's next to me, she was.
- 34:06Speaker 5: Just like that's it. Yeah, like it just ends.
- 34:10Speaker 4: It really does just end. I'll come to find out
- 34:12Speaker 4: Ja'afar had a conversation. I think it was ET Entertainment tonight. Yeah,
- 34:16Speaker 4: another one of them outlets where he said that they
- 34:18Speaker 4: are still in early development.
- 34:20Speaker 5: Of a part two.
- 34:21Speaker 2: Yeah, and I don't think the.
- 34:22Speaker 5: Part who was going to see the light of day,
- 34:23Speaker 5: to be honest with you, maybe.
- 34:25Speaker 2: Oh no, it couldn't.
- 34:25Speaker 5: The money.
- 34:26Speaker 2: Oh no, it will.
- 34:28Speaker 4: Maybe because of the money, but I don't think. Yeah,
- 34:30Speaker 4: the money because it made over two. It made like
- 34:33Speaker 4: two twenty mili the big bopic.
- 34:35Speaker 2: Ever.
- 34:36Speaker 4: Ever, however, when I say it may not see like
- 34:39Speaker 4: I'm talking about the Virgin that has the full truth legally, yeah,
- 34:42Speaker 4: the first that's it fultue because this didn't have the
- 34:44Speaker 4: full truth. Oh no, no, no, legal just had didn't have
- 34:46Speaker 4: food too because it was sanitized by the estate, all
- 34:49Speaker 4: sorts of things.
- 34:49Speaker 2: To let you know.
- 34:50Speaker 1: And this has also come out, well it's still allegedly,
- 34:54Speaker 1: but people are pretty much confirmed. This is that they
- 34:56Speaker 1: had to rewrite the third app and reshoot a lot
- 34:59Speaker 1: of the third yea.
- 35:00Speaker 4: Because I mean to the point where Kat Graham isn't
- 35:02Speaker 4: in it anymore. She was, she was playing Diana.
- 35:04Speaker 2: Ross like he has gone.
- 35:06Speaker 4: She filmed she filmed scenes with with with the actor
- 35:09Speaker 4: other actors and all of her shit's gone.
- 35:11Speaker 1: Yeah, because there's legal stuff going on with the alleged
- 35:16Speaker 1: accusers of Michael Jackson where they can't be included in anything, right,
- 35:19Speaker 1: So they had to take that out.
- 35:20Speaker 2: So even if they do a sequel, they won't be
- 35:22Speaker 2: include these people.
- 35:24Speaker 1: And I, you know, like I said, as someone who
- 35:27Speaker 1: grew up on Michael, and that's one of the reasons
- 35:29Speaker 1: I didn't. I wasn't sure for I want to see
- 35:30Speaker 1: because I'm conflicted about it. Like I'm one of those
- 35:33Speaker 1: people I've never watched Finding Neverland. I really have no
- 35:35Speaker 1: plans to. I've heard, you know, from both sides of
- 35:38Speaker 1: where people say it's all true, where people say it's
- 35:40Speaker 1: complete bullshit, and I'm one of them people who just
- 35:43Speaker 1: like f and I'm just trying to listen to this music.
- 35:46Speaker 1: You know, I might have to hold that l on
- 35:48Speaker 1: that one. It's kind of like how I feel with Prince,
- 35:50Speaker 1: you know, like where I love Prince. I know the
- 35:52Speaker 1: Prince you know was questionable, you know, it was a
- 35:54Speaker 1: questionable human being, like most human beings, especially when you
- 35:57Speaker 1: put them on these pedestals, as you say, when you
- 36:00Speaker 1: put them on a godlike pedestal, you're going at the
- 36:02Speaker 1: like a weirdo. You know, It's like it's very difficult
- 36:05Speaker 1: for any human being not to add like a weirdo
- 36:07Speaker 1: when they're being told they're a god every day. So
- 36:10Speaker 1: you know, I just on those I just trying to
- 36:12Speaker 1: hold the l and like I'm enjoying music because I
- 36:15Speaker 1: do love the music. And then going back to what
- 36:18Speaker 1: I was saying earlier about vulturemites and black people in
- 36:20Speaker 1: this world, I also feel that like black artists are
- 36:23Speaker 1: often held on a different scale than white artists, like
- 36:27Speaker 1: when it comes to being a trifling human being, because
- 36:30Speaker 1: ninety percent of artists, like I say, when you called
- 36:32Speaker 1: them a god, are trifling human beings.
- 36:35Speaker 2: But it's always, oh, we're never gonna listen.
- 36:37Speaker 1: To this black person again, you know, while Rolling Stones
- 36:40Speaker 1: is out here, live and kicking.
- 36:41Speaker 4: So yeah, So I overall, I would recommend it.
- 36:45Speaker 5: I think it was a good movie.
- 36:47Speaker 4: Who I think it was the best Michael movie ever,
- 36:49Speaker 4: I don't know, but I think what surpasses the movie
- 36:54Speaker 4: itself was literally the performance and embodiment of Michael and
- 36:58Speaker 4: his legacy and just far eight, like far by far
- 37:05Speaker 4: eight well and beyond anybody I could have ever seen
- 37:09Speaker 4: portray him and you could the love and the care
- 37:12Speaker 4: is there. Colman Demingo fabulous, Nil Long fabulous, Uh, Lorenz
- 37:17Speaker 4: Tate he plays Barry Gordy fabulous.
- 37:19Speaker 5: What's the light skinned one?
- 37:20Speaker 4: From Secure? He plays h Quincy Quincy Thank you? He
- 37:27Speaker 4: plays Quincy.
- 37:29Speaker 5: Ain't gonna hold you.
- 37:30Speaker 1: I know that cat too, like yeah, not like I
- 37:33Speaker 1: know him through like Kendrick Sampson. Yeah, he's good friends
- 37:36Speaker 1: with my people's Maud and Buck. I want to shout
- 37:40Speaker 1: her out, but I can't remember her name right now,
- 37:41Speaker 1: but yeah, shout out to them, shout out.
- 37:44Speaker 5: Laura. Harry is even in it, Like I was surprised
- 37:45Speaker 5: to see her.
- 37:46Speaker 4: She pays Susan the past and you know when they
- 37:48Speaker 4: get to the motown section, like there are some great action,
- 37:53Speaker 4: active activities and acting and things being done here.
- 37:57Speaker 3: Uh.
- 37:57Speaker 4: And what I was gonna say was, I ain't gonna
- 37:59Speaker 4: hold you. For all the brothers that played all the
- 38:01Speaker 4: brothers and the Jackmane brothers, they could have just swapped
- 38:05Speaker 4: them in with anybody would have known any better. They
- 38:08Speaker 4: were very much background to me.
- 38:10Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, I mean background in the real world.
- 38:12Speaker 5: I'm sorry, right, So it's it wasn't about really them, but.
- 38:16Speaker 1: That Michael dissed them throughout the movie. That's the only
- 38:19Speaker 1: thing that I liked. He clowned them like he did
- 38:21Speaker 1: in real life, because Michael.
- 38:22Speaker 4: No, they they left out like the way mainly how
- 38:25Speaker 4: he treated Jermaine, like everyone keeps saying, showing the clips
- 38:27Speaker 4: of him back in the day saying I love my brothers,
- 38:30Speaker 4: including Jermaine. Oh, I didn't see that one, Like that's
- 38:33Speaker 4: a real clue. And I saw on threads.
- 38:36Speaker 1: The one that it must be Jermaine. Then the one
- 38:39Speaker 1: that I always remember is that there's this clip of
- 38:41Speaker 1: Michael whe He's holding the camera and I think he's
- 38:44Speaker 1: it must be Jermaine, and he's like, Jermaine dance, Jermaine dance,
- 38:47Speaker 1: and Jamaine starts dancing and he's like, look at that
- 38:50Speaker 1: fool over there.
- 38:52Speaker 4: So I mean they showed like the brotherly jokes and
- 38:56Speaker 4: stuff like that.
- 38:58Speaker 5: It's more so like brotherly background.
- 39:02Speaker 2: Yeah you know what I mean.
- 39:03Speaker 4: They don't go to they don't go too hard into
- 39:05Speaker 4: the m jasms that he was he'd be doing like
- 39:07Speaker 4: and I love that people were like doing like full
- 39:10Speaker 4: clip fests of all of the like wold Ship.
- 39:13Speaker 5: Michael used to.
- 39:14Speaker 4: Say or said in the past, because it's a lot
- 39:16Speaker 4: I have never seen and I'm like, what, like yeah.
- 39:18Speaker 1: And it's like stuff I don't remember, you know, Like
- 39:21Speaker 1: I said, I was a kid, so it's like I
- 39:22Speaker 1: saw him live, but I don't remember all the things.
- 39:24Speaker 1: Like I didn't remember that he sent a statue to
- 39:28Speaker 1: one of the video shoots when they did the reunion.
- 39:30Speaker 5: I wasn't there, so I don't know if that's true.
- 39:34Speaker 5: You know, it is YouTube text.
- 39:37Speaker 1: Right in any of the videos, there's a statue and
- 39:40Speaker 1: there's a looker like in the other video, like he's
- 39:43Speaker 1: not in the videos.
- 39:44Speaker 2: It's true. These are true stories, like you can go
- 39:47Speaker 2: watch them on YouTube.
- 39:48Speaker 4: Michael was a kid, Okay, that man was just doing
- 39:53Speaker 4: and saying wild stuff.
- 39:54Speaker 2: You're gonna send a statue to a video shoot?
- 39:57Speaker 4: Faan was funny because because see he thinks he thinks
- 40:01Speaker 4: like that was funny.
- 40:02Speaker 5: He thought things like that was funny.
- 40:04Speaker 1: So oh my god, yoh that ye rest in peace, bro,
- 40:09Speaker 1: Like you know, yeah.
- 40:11Speaker 4: So I still I still recommend it. I still say
- 40:15Speaker 4: go see it. If you even an inkling of an
- 40:17Speaker 4: m J fan, go see it. Yeah, that man is
- 40:23Speaker 4: just funny as hell.
- 40:26Speaker 2: Peace man. That man was funny as hell.
- 40:28Speaker 1: Man, Yeah, I know we're gonna get eight up two?
- 40:30Speaker 1: Can we over here praising Michael? And it's just like yeah,
- 40:33Speaker 1: Like for the last you know, a few years, I
- 40:35Speaker 1: was djaying a lot of weddings, and that was always
- 40:38Speaker 1: one that hurt my soul was when I would see
- 40:41Speaker 1: do Not play and it was Michael Jackson right new
- 40:44Speaker 1: to like Chris Brown and R Kelly.
- 40:45Speaker 2: Oh yeah, And I was always m all three black guys.
- 40:50Speaker 5: But that's everyone's decisions.
- 40:52Speaker 1: I mean, I never like R. Kelly in general. You know,
- 40:54Speaker 1: I get it, but yeah, just the blacks, Okay.
- 40:59Speaker 5: You know, I'm not a fan of R.
- 41:05Speaker 2: Kelly.
- 41:06Speaker 1: No, I never have been. I've like, I get, like,
- 41:09Speaker 1: my problem with R. Kelly is I've always felt like
- 41:11Speaker 1: he makes the lowest traume of denominated music. Like I
- 41:13Speaker 1: feel like he is as talented as anyone you ever
- 41:16Speaker 1: want to mention, but he's like, this is the easiest
- 41:19Speaker 1: way for the bread, you know, instead of making the
- 41:21Speaker 1: music he could make, because I've heard that music from him.
- 41:25Speaker 1: But it's like, nah, I'm just gonna keep making you know. Oh,
- 41:27Speaker 1: y'all like dancing the name of ste the name of love,
- 41:30Speaker 1: here's twenty of them. You know you like your body's calling,
- 41:34Speaker 1: here's thirty of them.
- 41:35Speaker 2: You know you like the.
- 41:37Speaker 1: Anything else? But he did twenty million trapped in the
- 41:40Speaker 1: closet snow.
- 41:41Speaker 4: Yeah, well I would have handed you a similar list,
- 41:44Speaker 4: and it was definitely gonna say no.
- 41:45Speaker 1: R Kelly, Yeah, and I would understand that. But when
- 41:47Speaker 1: you put Michael next to him, it's like.
- 41:52Speaker 4: It is a very difficult and touchy subject which they
- 41:56Speaker 4: completely avoided.
- 42:00Speaker 7: H And I feel it, you know, I don't know
- 42:02Speaker 7: what what part two gonna look like. It's all that.
- 42:12Speaker 4: Real quick before we go, ben Uh, A few things
- 42:15Speaker 4: that I wanted to say quickly and then you know,
- 42:18Speaker 4: you can comment on them. But one they canceled gen V,
- 42:24Speaker 4: I only had two. I know you kind of didn't
- 42:26Speaker 4: care at that point. You wasn't fucking with gen V
- 42:28Speaker 4: or the boys, Like no, and completely understand why. Like
- 42:32Speaker 4: it's just too much, it's all it's it's even though
- 42:34Speaker 4: I've watched both you know and and also the most
- 42:38Speaker 4: recent seasons.
- 42:40Speaker 5: It's just too much.
- 42:42Speaker 2: Man, you bloting for punishment.
- 42:44Speaker 4: I am a completionist. I feel like I got to
- 42:47Speaker 4: finish ship, to be honest.
- 42:49Speaker 5: It's kind of from gaming.
- 42:50Speaker 1: I did read like The Boys was one of them,
- 42:54Speaker 1: Like I have sitting in this closet right here, I've
- 42:56Speaker 1: got most of the series right there in boxes. And
- 42:59Speaker 1: then I stopped right before the end, like maybe thirteen
- 43:02Speaker 1: is shoes before the end. But then I eventually like
- 43:04Speaker 1: read them online because I was like, you know, like you.
- 43:07Speaker 5: Just got there.
- 43:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I got it.
- 43:10Speaker 5: It's more like I gotta no. But it's also I
- 43:12Speaker 5: am again not gonna hold you.
- 43:14Speaker 4: I sighed through a lot of episodes and and to me,
- 43:18Speaker 4: GENV was particularly egregious for this, but it was even
- 43:21Speaker 4: a mortgage. I'm like, how because Boys was the original
- 43:24Speaker 4: aggressive aggressive egregious. A lot of the hapitual line stepper,
- 43:29Speaker 4: and my whole thing about it is just just like
- 43:33Speaker 4: habitually line stepping to what end? Like how many dick
- 43:37Speaker 4: jokes am I gonna get? How many balls? How many
- 43:41Speaker 4: nasty just just combination cuss words can you come up with?
- 43:47Speaker 4: Like who you? It's clearly not for me? Who are
- 43:50Speaker 4: you writing this for? And again it's just more soul.
- 43:53Speaker 4: I'm just damn, I'm just trying to get to the end, like, okay,
- 43:55Speaker 4: so what the fuck happens?
- 43:56Speaker 5: Really?
- 43:57Speaker 4: So all that said, just back to gen V that
- 44:00Speaker 4: shit is canceled. They only did two what'd you call it?
- 44:03Speaker 4: Two seasons? Third season is not happening. But a lot
- 44:06Speaker 4: of those characters have already been or will be poureded
- 44:09Speaker 4: over to The Boys, and crip Key was saying that
- 44:13Speaker 4: you're gonna see them again, but in like The Boys
- 44:17Speaker 4: and other projects down the line.
- 44:18Speaker 2: Yeah. So my problem with The Boys is and has
- 44:23Speaker 2: been my problem.
- 44:24Speaker 1: Like the comic is one thing, Garth and it's just weird.
- 44:27Speaker 1: The book is weird. The book and the show as
- 44:29Speaker 1: the show's developed have become very different and same. But
- 44:34Speaker 1: my problem with The Boys is is and this is
- 44:36Speaker 1: something that I'm gonna talk about this week on Daredevil
- 44:41Speaker 1: and Everything, is I think The Boys is one of
- 44:44Speaker 1: the originators of the idea of centrism in like shows
- 44:49Speaker 1: like this, when you have really strong political you know, takes,
- 44:53Speaker 1: but you're very centrist, where it's just like there's bad
- 44:57Speaker 1: on both sides of the aisle. And The Voice first
- 45:01Speaker 1: did that for me with Homelander when they first introduced
- 45:04Speaker 1: the Nazi character our Stormfront Front and it was like,
- 45:07Speaker 1: here's a worst version.
- 45:09Speaker 2: So he's not that bad, right, you know? And then what.
- 45:13Speaker 1: Really sealed the deal, because I know people are like, no,
- 45:15Speaker 1: they still made whom Lander evil, He's still the monster
- 45:18Speaker 1: is when they introduced the AOC analog. And that's the
- 45:24Speaker 1: season I stopped watching. It was a character who was
- 45:26Speaker 1: sitting there blowing people's heads up, and you know, it's like, oh,
- 45:29Speaker 1: here's the Democrat who's evil too, and it's just like,
- 45:32Speaker 1: oh god, and they really made her look like AOC
- 45:35Speaker 1: everything where it was like, fam, y'all, just you're really
- 45:38Speaker 1: gonna say that, you know, it's just as bad and
- 45:41Speaker 1: that's what you're implying. And so that's when I gave
- 45:43Speaker 1: up on Kripkeet in general. I thought he's cornball. If
- 45:46Speaker 1: we ever had a chance to talk to him, I
- 45:48Speaker 1: would tell him this. I'd be like, Bro, you centences
- 45:50Speaker 1: fuck and that shit's weak as fuck. And it's only
- 45:52Speaker 1: a position that a privileged white man can take when
- 45:55Speaker 1: you can say, oh, this bad on both sides, you know,
- 45:58Speaker 1: and you can say i' And this is what I've
- 46:01Speaker 1: been talking about in recent videos. I did a video
- 46:03Speaker 1: on comics explaining that a lot of y'all saw, and
- 46:05Speaker 1: I'm actually about to do another one on their level
- 46:07Speaker 1: because I feel it's really bad with this season is
- 46:10Speaker 1: that you can sit there and say, oh, there's bad
- 46:12Speaker 1: on both sides, and things are just as bad on
- 46:14Speaker 1: both sides, and I'd rather keep the status pro going.
- 46:17Speaker 1: And that's the biggest problem, because the status Pro is
- 46:20Speaker 1: constantly being pushed back by one side, but you're content
- 46:24Speaker 1: to sit there and say no, it's cool, and that's
- 46:27Speaker 1: shits weak man. So that's why I gave him one
- 46:29Speaker 1: of the Boys a long time ago, and I never
- 46:31Speaker 1: went back. I've heard what's been going on in the
- 46:34Speaker 1: latest season and I don't care. And so yeah, this
- 46:37Speaker 1: being canceled was pretty much the same. I was like,
- 46:39Speaker 1: cool because they're still doing another spin off they got and.
- 46:41Speaker 5: They got the spin off before what's his Face Soldier
- 46:44Speaker 5: Boy and his ever with.
- 46:46Speaker 1: Stormfront where they're gonna humanize Stormfront further. You know, it's like,
- 46:50Speaker 1: that's so weird to me, Like these are gonna be
- 46:53Speaker 1: your protagonists sure or not the heroes. But as I've said,
- 46:56Speaker 1: they didn't match her name, but she's going to be
- 46:58Speaker 1: in it. Oh yeah, she because her and Solier Boy
- 47:02Speaker 1: have a relationship. They distressed that on a recent episode
- 47:04Speaker 1: that he you smashed too that's true.
- 47:06Speaker 5: That's why he got mad with someone mentioned her.
- 47:08Speaker 1: Yep, And so this she's to be a major part
- 47:11Speaker 1: of the show. It's her and they're the two leads.
- 47:15Speaker 1: And that's my problem.
- 47:17Speaker 4: Like I think, I'm definitely definitely done after this.
- 47:23Speaker 5: I don't like this. I don't even know why. Like
- 47:28Speaker 5: I said, it's this more completion.
- 47:29Speaker 4: This Why am I still doing this myself when I'm
- 47:31Speaker 4: not exactly happy with it? No?
- 47:33Speaker 1: And this is perfect because this leads into the next
- 47:35Speaker 1: topic that the Authority series got canceled.
- 47:39Speaker 2: All right.
- 47:41Speaker 1: Well, James Dunn when he first took over the DCU,
- 47:45Speaker 1: he announced I think ten projects, and one of them
- 47:48Speaker 1: is The Authority, right, and the Authority is unlike the Boys.
- 47:53Speaker 1: I haven't reread it in a while, but it's one
- 47:55Speaker 1: of my favorite comments at the time it was. It
- 47:58Speaker 1: was created by Warren Ellis, who is problem as fucked,
- 48:00Speaker 1: but he's, you know, also one of my favorite writers
- 48:03Speaker 1: before I found out how problematic he was. And The
- 48:05Speaker 1: Authority features a team of characters. They existed in the
- 48:08Speaker 1: DC universe. I'm not sure that they started. I think
- 48:12Speaker 1: they started in this other universe, but they've they've been
- 48:14Speaker 1: bought up by DC where they're part of it and
- 48:17Speaker 1: they're no, they weren't. Because there are a lot of analogs,
- 48:20Speaker 1: like the Authority was a team of superheroes.
- 48:23Speaker 2: They have a.
- 48:23Speaker 1: Batman analog named Midnighter and Apollo who is Superman. But
- 48:29Speaker 1: in this uh, Midnighter and Apollo are gay and in
- 48:33Speaker 1: a relationship.
- 48:34Speaker 5: Okay, yep, that's different.
- 48:36Speaker 1: There's also a doctor Strange type character. There's a character
- 48:39Speaker 1: the Engineer, who we actually saw in the first Superman.
- 48:42Speaker 1: The woman who was on Lex Lufi's team was the Engineer,
- 48:46Speaker 1: the one who was creating buzzsaws and doing backflips and
- 48:50Speaker 1: all that type of shit, who had the like nanotech
- 48:52Speaker 1: growing out of her skin. The Engineer, that's her character.
- 48:56Speaker 1: She's slightly different. Much more powerful is the Authority. That
- 49:00Speaker 1: all other members of the Authority were like dumb powerful
- 49:04Speaker 1: and they were the type of they were one of
- 49:06Speaker 1: the first, along with like X Force, because that's Force
- 49:09Speaker 1: was around the same time. Whereas like, we're gonna be
- 49:11Speaker 1: proactive heroes. We're not gonna sit around and wait for
- 49:13Speaker 1: villain solution shit. We're gonna go out and find these
- 49:16Speaker 1: villains and kill them and remove them from the table.
- 49:18Speaker 2: And then they also.
- 49:19Speaker 1: Dealt with bigger than life things, like they battled God
- 49:24Speaker 1: at one point. You know, it wasn't exactly God, but
- 49:27Speaker 1: it was that type of you know storyline.
- 49:29Speaker 5: Is it popular.
- 49:31Speaker 1: Authority was a huge book for its time, Like it
- 49:33Speaker 1: was one of those books. It's yeah, Frank Quietly was
- 49:37Speaker 1: the artist it feature. It was one of the first
- 49:39Speaker 1: comics at a time to feature what they call like
- 49:42Speaker 1: widespring cinema comics, whereas a lot of you know, a
- 49:46Speaker 1: lot of the panels would be huge and widescreen action
- 49:49Speaker 1: and quietly for people who know it's like one of
- 49:51Speaker 1: these he's a great and so the art was just.
- 49:54Speaker 2: On another level.
- 49:55Speaker 1: And then it had a dope story too, you know,
- 49:57Speaker 1: and it was very it's dream you know. It was
- 50:01Speaker 1: like late nineties, early two thousands, so it was like extreme.
- 50:05Speaker 1: You know, they were murdering cats.
- 50:06Speaker 2: You know.
- 50:07Speaker 1: It was a very violent, very different take on superheroes.
- 50:11Speaker 1: And so The Authority was going to be this thing.
- 50:13Speaker 1: But why I said it relates to what we were
- 50:15Speaker 1: talking about is I'm kind of happy that he canceled
- 50:18Speaker 1: it because I feel like it's in this same vein
- 50:21Speaker 1: of anti heroes that people don't really have enough media
- 50:25Speaker 1: training to understand shouldn't be viewed as heroes, you know,
- 50:29Speaker 1: like you think of characters like the like The Punisher
- 50:32Speaker 1: is the first, like the Punisher debuted. It debuted in
- 50:36Speaker 1: Spider Man as a pure villain. He was trying to
- 50:38Speaker 1: kill Spider Man, but then he proved popular. Oh Man,
- 50:41Speaker 1: In fact, rest in peace to Jerry Conway who just
- 50:43Speaker 1: passed away.
- 50:44Speaker 2: He was the.
- 50:45Speaker 1: Creator of The Punisher and a bunch of other stuff
- 50:47Speaker 1: for you know, multiple comics, and he just passed, so
- 50:51Speaker 1: you know, rest in peace to him for real. Thank
- 50:54Speaker 1: you for that and everything you did for that matter.
- 50:57Speaker 1: But that's what I'm saying. They were created as and
- 51:00Speaker 1: then they prove popular, so they're like, Okay, we gotta
- 51:02Speaker 1: give him his own series, make him slightly less villains,
- 51:06Speaker 1: and now he's just killing you know, allegedly criminals, but
- 51:10Speaker 1: he's still a villain. You know.
- 51:11Speaker 2: He's like if we in the.
- 51:12Speaker 1: Real world of this man going around shooting people, were like,
- 51:15Speaker 1: lock this dude up, man that you know, nah, you know,
- 51:18Speaker 1: coming into the hoods and some white dude running around
- 51:20Speaker 1: the hood just shooting up.
- 51:21Speaker 2: Dude's like, what that shit.
- 51:23Speaker 1: Ain't happening, So It's one of those things where I
- 51:26Speaker 1: don't think people have enough, like if you see police
- 51:29Speaker 1: have taken on the Punisher, et cetera, where people don't
- 51:32Speaker 1: get it. You know, people watch stories like The Homelander
- 51:35Speaker 1: and Soldier Boy and they identify with them instead of
- 51:38Speaker 1: being like, oh, these are villains, These are a problem.
- 51:41Speaker 1: These are not the right, like the authority are supposed
- 51:43Speaker 1: to be looked at as like okay, Like there's this
- 51:47Speaker 1: very classic issue of Superman where he took on like
- 51:50Speaker 1: not the authority, but you know the authority in quotation marks.
- 51:53Speaker 1: So at this point they were owned by different companies
- 51:56Speaker 1: and Superman breaks down why it's like this ain't right
- 51:59Speaker 1: what y'all do, and basically this that doesn't you know,
- 52:02Speaker 1: it's cool, it looks cool, but this ain't what being
- 52:05Speaker 1: a hero is about, you know. And that story is
- 52:09Speaker 1: really fantastic, and that's why James Dunn said he doesn't
- 52:12Speaker 1: feel like they fit in with what we're doing with
- 52:15Speaker 1: the DCU, And I think that's.
- 52:17Speaker 4: True, which is about light and ecstasy and but it's.
- 52:21Speaker 1: Aweso very interesting because I don't know if you keep
- 52:24Speaker 1: the Clayface trailer, did you?
- 52:29Speaker 5: I couldn't get past the ten minutes sharing.
- 52:33Speaker 1: Holy Like, first of all, it looks great. And when
- 52:40Speaker 1: you talk about lightness and Lollipop.
- 52:42Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, that's not that.
- 52:44Speaker 4: That ain't it And understandably because that's not a lightness
- 52:47Speaker 4: in Lollipop's story.
- 52:48Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's so interesting that so whatever they were
- 52:51Speaker 1: getting this script for the authority and together and so whatever.
- 52:54Speaker 1: This strip was just you know, was because he said
- 52:57Speaker 1: he had no plans for Clayface until I can't remember
- 53:03Speaker 1: the dude's name he does all the horror, h House
- 53:06Speaker 1: on the Hill, all that shit. He brought him the
- 53:09Speaker 1: script like he was like, I have this idea for Playface.
- 53:13Speaker 1: You know, I want to do this a Flannegan. So
- 53:16Speaker 1: like he said, I want to do this. So James
- 53:20Speaker 1: Jones like, all right, we'll work this in. Because he
- 53:21Speaker 1: saw the script, I was like, this is so incredible,
- 53:23Speaker 1: we have to do this. So I guess the authority
- 53:27Speaker 1: script wasn't that incredible, which is probably part of it.
- 53:30Speaker 1: And then it just didn't exactly fit because I get
- 53:33Speaker 1: it because Playface you can do you know, you can
- 53:35Speaker 1: do a little small story with this dude and Superman
- 53:37Speaker 1: doesn't notice that.
- 53:38Speaker 2: But you bring in the authority it changes what's going
- 53:42Speaker 2: on in the DC.
- 53:43Speaker 5: You have to answer that.
- 53:44Speaker 1: Yeah, you have to answer These dudes fly around on
- 53:46Speaker 1: a ship that goes through dimensions.
- 53:48Speaker 2: You know, they are like some old nets level I.
- 53:50Speaker 4: Mean, or you can do it like how Marvel doing
- 53:52Speaker 4: ignore the giant seleshial on the ocean? I mean for years,
- 53:56Speaker 4: for years doesn't exist.
- 53:57Speaker 1: And even now you know, like that shit is not
- 54:00Speaker 1: coming up in Doomsday. I doubt that's unless the of
- 54:03Speaker 1: the ocean has anything to do with it.
- 54:05Speaker 4: And they mentioned it, they mentioned it. What movie was
- 54:09Speaker 4: that recently? Where they it was movie or TV?
- 54:12Speaker 2: Yeah, no Falcon they mentioned it.
- 54:14Speaker 1: But I'm saying that's to be the end of that
- 54:15Speaker 1: for a while, Like we ain't gonna hear about that again.
- 54:18Speaker 1: But if I'm saying, if you brought an authority, you'd
- 54:20Speaker 1: have to hear about that in every movie. There's no
- 54:22Speaker 1: way you could ignore that the authority out there.
- 54:25Speaker 5: Oh, that's what it was.
- 54:26Speaker 4: I think I was watching What If and they were
- 54:28Speaker 4: talking about it, because it's always on side side.
- 54:31Speaker 2: That's what I like, you know, it doesn't really matter, Yeah,
- 54:35Speaker 2: not at all.
- 54:36Speaker 4: And then one of the last things I did want
- 54:38Speaker 4: to mention was just the fact that I didn't even
- 54:40Speaker 4: realize that you said Ted Lasso's coming back.
- 54:43Speaker 2: Yep.
- 54:44Speaker 4: I'm conflicted because I really thought it ended properly.
- 54:50Speaker 5: It ended the waves.
- 54:51Speaker 4: But like I get to me now, I don't know
- 54:53Speaker 4: this is genuine, like for the love of the characters,
- 54:57Speaker 4: or it's just like hear and it's seen the love
- 55:00Speaker 4: of the characters and the cash. I thought it closed.
- 55:05Speaker 4: Like at the end of season three, I was like,
- 55:06Speaker 4: I'm satisfied. I'm satisfied. Like everyone, everything wraps up. Everyone
- 55:11Speaker 4: got their endings, good, bad or indifferent.
- 55:16Speaker 5: Ted made his piece.
- 55:18Speaker 4: Everybody's cool. So I'm like, y'all literally wrap that shit up?
- 55:23Speaker 4: So why now bring it back? And apparently this new season,
- 55:28Speaker 4: season four is gonna be about him trying to coach
- 55:31Speaker 4: a women's soccer i e.
- 55:34Speaker 5: Football league.
- 55:35Speaker 1: Yep, Like, okay, now, I was gonna agree with you.
- 55:40Speaker 1: I was feeling an exact same way. But just as
- 55:43Speaker 1: you were speaking, I thought about, have you ever watched
- 55:46Speaker 1: our Reservation Dogs? Yes, okay, you watched the whole thing?
- 55:49Speaker 2: Right?
- 55:50Speaker 1: No, okay, well it's like three seasons, I think, right,
- 55:55Speaker 1: And I remember.
- 55:56Speaker 4: I didn't watch all seasons, but I did watch a
- 55:58Speaker 4: good majority of it.
- 56:00Speaker 1: At the end of season two that was supposed to
- 56:01Speaker 1: be the ending. You know, they I didn't think they
- 56:03Speaker 1: were doing another season, and I thought the end of
- 56:06Speaker 1: season two is perfect. I balled out. I was just like,
- 56:09Speaker 1: oh my god, this is an exceptional perfect two seasons
- 56:13Speaker 1: of a show. This is how you tell the story.
- 56:15Speaker 1: And then they're like, we're doing the third season and
- 56:17Speaker 1: I was like, why you know? And I was reluctant
- 56:21Speaker 1: to watch it. And then the third season I cried
- 56:24Speaker 1: through every episode. It's suck a perfection and it ended
- 56:27Speaker 1: on a perfect, even more perfect note than it ended before.
- 56:31Speaker 4: Okay, and again, I'll go for that if the writing
- 56:35Speaker 4: is that to say, for the love of the characters,
- 56:39Speaker 4: got it? If it's just the love of the money,
- 56:41Speaker 4: love and characters, and I'm like, you know, why are
- 56:44Speaker 4: you doing this? But I will remain open to it
- 56:47Speaker 4: because I do love, not love, but I do enjoy
- 56:51Speaker 4: deeply Ted Lasso and friends. Most of the friends as characters. Yes,
- 56:56Speaker 4: I too, but I enjoyed that story. So y'all hooking
- 57:02Speaker 4: me in because of Ted again? But am I going
- 57:05Speaker 4: to enjoy the others? I'll give it a chance and
- 57:06Speaker 4: see what these this new group of people are going
- 57:09Speaker 4: to be like well, also.
- 57:10Speaker 1: On that note, they are adding the legendary and I
- 57:13Speaker 1: do mean legendary Tracy Olmand, who is a lot of
- 57:17Speaker 1: people like. In recent years she's been a little more quiet,
- 57:19Speaker 1: I guess, or I haven't seen what projects she's been doing.
- 57:22Speaker 1: But in the early nineties, back in you know, my childhood,
- 57:27Speaker 1: she was late like late eighties, early nineties, she had
- 57:31Speaker 1: the Tracy Olmand Show, which was like a variety show.
- 57:33Speaker 1: I think it was on Fox because it's, as you said,
- 57:37Speaker 1: it's where the Simpsons debut. And she's just a brilliant,
- 57:42Speaker 1: brilliant artist, you know, comedian, singer, l everything you can imagine.
- 57:48Speaker 1: So I'm really happy that a whole new generation of
- 57:50Speaker 1: people is going to get to see her.
- 57:52Speaker 5: Okay, I just I'm here for Roy Kent. If Roy
- 57:55Speaker 5: Kent is there, that's my boy.
- 57:58Speaker 2: I'm happy.
- 57:58Speaker 4: That's the E for me is in the back over here,
- 58:01Speaker 4: So yeah, that's E or for me.
- 58:03Speaker 5: I love Roy Kent.
- 58:05Speaker 1: And also way, Roy Kent is rumpy one. But okay,
- 58:10Speaker 1: and then what's the his rival Tart, Jamie Tart.
- 58:16Speaker 5: I love Jimmy Tart.
- 58:16Speaker 4: To you like Jamie Jamie Tart is basically Damon like
- 58:21Speaker 4: he's another one of those like kind of psychotic characters.
- 58:26Speaker 1: And speaking of Jmi Tart, the actor is currently armed
- 58:30Speaker 1: The Rooster, which is another HBO show which I call
- 58:33Speaker 1: like the stop gap for Ted Last So because it's kind.
- 58:36Speaker 2: Of feel good.
- 58:37Speaker 1: Is not as feel good as Ted Lasso, but it's
- 58:40Speaker 1: kind of in the same vein it features Steve Carell.
- 58:43Speaker 1: I've really been enjoying the first season. If you all
- 58:45Speaker 1: haven't watched it yet, you can check it out. Steve Carell,
- 58:48Speaker 1: a bunch of other actors whose names I don't know.
- 58:50Speaker 1: But it's a really strong cast, very strong cast, and
- 58:54Speaker 1: you know, a solid show, you know, slightly feel good, not.
- 58:58Speaker 2: As feel good as The Rooster and is to Last Sole,
- 59:01Speaker 2: but up there.
- 59:02Speaker 4: Okay, all right, so I'm gonna go with it with
- 59:04Speaker 4: cautious optimism.
- 59:06Speaker 1: Yeah at first I wasn't, but when I remembered reservation dogs,
- 59:10Speaker 1: like that may be right, But.
- 59:11Speaker 5: That's because that team, yeah, specific creative team.
- 59:15Speaker 1: But you know this, but from what I understand, this
- 59:18Speaker 1: is the same team who did the first Okay, and.
- 59:21Speaker 4: If it's then if I does I will probably err
- 59:24Speaker 4: on the side of trust and see what happens.
- 59:26Speaker 5: I just wanted to be sure it was genuine.
- 59:29Speaker 1: I'm just worried because this doesn't feel like we're just
- 59:31Speaker 1: doing one more season now.
- 59:34Speaker 4: I'm just like, Okay, you're gonna get going a brand
- 59:38Speaker 4: new avenue and then say okay, we're gonna leave it
- 59:42Speaker 4: there like no now.
- 59:42Speaker 5: Yeah, that's just why I talk about the genuine nature.
- 59:45Speaker 1: That's where it feels like for the love of the
- 59:47Speaker 1: cash to see.
- 59:55Speaker 5: Hey, what's up. Internet's in the fan fam.
