- 0:18[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome to the Start Me Up Podcast, part of MSW Media and the Stexy Liberal Podcast Network.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_02]: I'm your host Kimberley Johnson in V.C.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_02]: Today I'll be talking with Sarah Burris.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_02]: She's a reporter at Raw Story, Alternate and Salon.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_02]: We, as usual, have a lot to cover, so before we get into it.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_02]: Start Me Up Podcast is independent, listen or fund it, and woman run.

- 0:48[SPEAKER_02]: It's kind of like my online journal where I get a little more personal and I talk about whatever's on my mind.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_02]: There's also an ad free tier with a much shorter intro.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_02]: Well, this is the first time we've ever met as far as not in person, but, you know, the virtual meetings, the entrance.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, the interwebs, and I think, you know, we've been very aware of each other for quite a while.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't know if you know this, but I'm the social media manager for MSW media.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm always like, you know, you're on the Rick Smith show all the time, and I'm creating those graphics for posting everywhere.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm very familiar with you.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: I was super excited to hear that because then it's like, oh, wow, this is the person that I should totally be loving on for being so badass.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, thank you.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_02]: You know, like I said, I've been very aware of you.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_02]: I've read your articles.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_02]: I've shared your articles.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm excited to have you.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_02]: I'm excited to have you.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited to have you.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited to have you.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_00]: That is such an awesome compliment.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I'm always surprised when somebody's like, oh, I read your stuff.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like seriously.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_00]: It's like the greatest thing in the world.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: Somebody's mom told me that.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, oh my god, I'm like fanning myself.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_02]: That is so cool.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I remember when I first got involved in like activism and somebody told me at the time I was living in California and someone had said, yeah, somebody in DC knew who you were and I was like, really?
- 2:19[SPEAKER_02]: But the internet, everything is so much smaller now, you know, and plus we've kind of got this established group of people who, you know, when it comes to politics, there's just this big, I mean, it's a big one, it's a big group of people, but we've been doing it for so long now.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_02]: We all kind of know each other or aware of each other, so like I said, I'm really glad that I have the opportunity to talk to you.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_02]: And the first thing that I want to talk about, well, I just also want to say actually before we get into the topics, is your reporter.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_02]: So because you're a reporter, obviously you have opinions, but you are looking at everything through a reporter's lens.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_02]: So that's kind of what I want to focus on.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I'm very interested in whatever personal opinions you may have, but you know, you're going to be coming at this from a different point of view maybe than me because I'm not a reporter.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_02]: So anyway, now that that's out of the way, the first question I have for you is what are the things that you've been covering on raw story and salon?
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: So a couple of things today, obviously, I've been watching the Supreme Court ruling with South Carolina and Planned Parenthood.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: I've been following the budget negotiations.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: for the so-called big beautiful bill.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: And generally, I spend a lot of time every day watching Donald Trump, watching his mannerisms, and hearing anything, any changes in him and anything that just sort of stands out to me because it's, I mean, it's kind of, every day is sort of listening to him
- 4:00[SPEAKER_00]: It's like Charlie Brown, right?
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: With the want, want, want.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: And after a while, it just really sort of all sounds the same.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: And so trying to find something that stands out is always my goal every day, whenever I'm listening to stuff.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_02]: Wow, that's interesting.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_02]: So let's just dive into the South Carolina ruling.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, basically, it's allowing states to cut off Medicaid funding for planned parenthood.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_02]: So where do you see this going in the bigger picture?
- 4:26[SPEAKER_00]: Um, obviously, I think.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: You know, this is a huge stupid mistake, because there is, there now is all of these right wing people who want to, who claim that they want to stop abortion.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: Panhandhead provides things like birth control and
- 4:46[SPEAKER_00]: and pregnancy tests and STD screenings.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: And things like that that in a state where you already banned abortion, they're not providing it.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_00]: So why would you then want to defund it?
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: And so it like stuff like that doesn't just doesn't make sense to me.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_00]: And so a lot of the states like my home state of Oklahoma states like Alabama, Texas, defunding plant parenthood,
- 5:12[SPEAKER_00]: Just doesn't make any sense if you legitimately want to reduce the number of abortions in the country.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: And so it's frustrating sort of to watch these, it's just so, it's so political, you know, and it's they have spent so many decades pretending to be on this moral high ground when it comes to reproductive freedom.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_00]: And now we're really starting to see, no, it really wasn't about reducing the number of abortions.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: It's really just about controlling people.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that if they're cutting, I mean, if it's the red states that aren't even, it's not even legal to perform an abortion.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_02]: than that money is being used for breast cancer scans and mammograms and just overall health for women.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_02]: So I mean, they may not be getting an abortion, but they're getting a pap smear.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_02]: They're getting a mammogram.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_02]: They're getting care.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_02]: And that's basically going to be defunded.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_00]: So like a lot of stuff, I kind of go back to, I remember some of the stuff that Mike Pennsted when he was a governor in Indiana.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: And a lot of it was cutting STI testing screenings, cutting needle exchange programs.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: And it ended up being these, this massive outbreak of HIV cases in a specific county.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: And so like a lot of these unintended consequences, I think we're going to sit back and watch happen to South Carolina.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: I do think that when it comes to the other states, it'll take a little bit longer for folks to find out important because I think
- 6:58[SPEAKER_00]: You know, with a lot of state constitution, there's some weird little laws that are shoved in there that I think people could fight the funding, the state funding cuts for plant-parenthood on based on some of those little laws.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_00]: I think too, like it's from a legal perspective, I look at how can you
- 7:24[SPEAKER_00]: How can you single out plan parenthood if they're not providing an abortion and distinguish it from say a crisis pregnancy center?
- 7:34[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: And so for blue states, it makes me wonder, is that then opening the door for a blue state to then come in and say, yeah, okay, we're definitely gonna be able to defund a lot of these different random places because you've, you've done it already with Seth Carolina.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_02]: Well, and for those who don't know, crisis pregnancy centers usually are run like with a religious leaning and they try or the very least conservative and they try to talk women out of abortions.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_02]: And they usually use
- 8:16[SPEAKER_02]: miss this information miss information to sway women guilt miss information all of that so so yeah well that's just insane and i mean this supreme court is just got i mean we could do a whole show on it and i don't want to because i want to keep my sanity right but uh i'm sorry please refresh my memory what what were the other things that you are covering outside of this particular ruling
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: So the budget stuff and then Donald Trump, every day, is a Donald Trump day.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_02]: Let's talk about him because he's clearly in decline.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, I've joked around whether it's I'm on the Bob Seska after party.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_02]: I've talked about this and I've said this on my show.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_02]: Now, I don't, I want to be very, very, very clear here.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_02]: that I like to watch these videos, and I'm gonna talk about them in a second, but I don't necessarily buy into them, but there are all these YouTube tarot card readers and astrologers, specifically there's one that it's called Trump Health Wash, but it's really like Trump Death Watch.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_02]: So when I listen, this woman who does the show, she's, you know, she's a liberal and she understands what's going on.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_02]: And then she lays up the cards and she tries to determine what's wrong with him or, you know, whatever is going on with his body and does she get that death card and all of that.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_02]: So when I listen to it, like I said, I want to be clear, I don't necessarily buy into the terror reading.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_02]: What I like doing is immersing myself in the idea
- 9:48[SPEAKER_02]: that he is so unhealthy and he's not going to make it.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_02]: Because so many of us, just, you know, we wake up every day and we're like, ah, more, you know, we just don't want this anymore.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_02]: So, yeah.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, you know, as a reporter and as someone who is watching him every single day and I'm sorry, I'm very sorry that you have to watch him every single day.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_02]: You know, what's your take on him?
- 10:10[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Linda even go back to like, twenty sixteen to now.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, there are a couple of things.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_00]: We just celebrated what was it like the ten year anniversary of him coming down the escalator.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_00]: And they were showing some of the videos of the speech that he made that day.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_00]: And it really struck me just how different he has changed in those last ten years.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: How much he slowed down, how much he how incoherent he has become.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: Just, I mean, it's hard to say it that way, but it's just a way that he speaks.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_00]: The way that he was in fifteen, in that speech in particular, he seemed much more confident.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_00]: And much more, I mean, even though he was saying crazy things, he was still articulating them in a way that
- 11:09[SPEAKER_00]: I think felt more normal, like a normal politician saying stuff.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_00]: And now it sort of seems like he's rambling all over the place.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_00]: And all of these strange tangents, and he forgets what he's saying in the middle of a sentence, and then pitets to some other issue.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's very, it's just different from what we have seen, I think, in the first Trump iteration.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_00]: So that has been strange to watch.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_00]: One of the things that you talked about in the beginning is that the internet obviously has brought us all together in such a unique way, but it's really kind of opened up this ability for us to have access to experts when it comes to mental health and physical health.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_00]: And so one of the things that I do
- 12:04[SPEAKER_00]: But as a reporter, but some just out of my own curiosity is watching some of those accounts that are monitoring, you know, this is not normal.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_00]: This is right.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_00]: But because I'm not obviously not an expert when it comes to, you know, dementia issues or whatever.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_00]: So it's nice to hear experts be able to come online and be like, all right, this is normal.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_00]: Don't think that he's, you know, his brain is falling out of his ear or whatever.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, obviously as he continues to decline physically and I think mentally, it's nice to sort of see that validation from experts who know far better.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think even beyond the experts, I mean, I look at it this way.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_02]: If I loved him and he or my father or family member, I would be very concerned.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_02]: right so that's kind of how I take it and you know it's having this conversation with someone who does not like him and she said something like you know but he could go on for years and years and years and I said well obviously I mean you know obviously he could live until his nineties his father did
- 13:14[SPEAKER_02]: Um, so I mean, his father living to his nineties doesn't mean Donald Trump will.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_02]: We don't know what's going to happen.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_02]: But at the same time, it's just evident.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_02]: It is so evident.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_02]: And then there was some speculation for Midas touch that he's wearing a catheter.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, there was this picture.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if you saw it.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_02]: But it was, I think he was on the White House line and it was from behind and around his calves were two different
- 13:42[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, things you could see through his pants.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe they were leg braces.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_02]: So people are wondering, are those leg braces?
- 13:50[SPEAKER_02]: Are they two different catheters?
- 13:55[SPEAKER_02]: The thing about this is, I mean, I know that
- 13:58[SPEAKER_02]: on one hand, it kind of looks petty.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_02]: But he is the president, whether we like it or not.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_02]: And Jake Tapper wrote a book all about the deadline of Joe Biden after the fact.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, it seems the mainstream media just doesn't want to cover
- 14:17[SPEAKER_02]: His obvious mental decline and physical decline.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, before the election, I keep saying this, before the election, he basically performed Follation on a microphone and on and on about Arnold Palmer's gigantic penis.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_02]: And okay, it's like, oh, ha ha ha, funny penis, but it's not funny because he's supposed to be the president of the United States.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_02]: And of course, at the time he was campaigning.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_02]: But nobody gave a shit.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's just like another day.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_02]: We just expect, you know, I want to ask you, this is a reporter.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, this whole thing that Donald Trump gets a pass on everything from the mainstream media, from the corporate media, not from reporters like you, but somebody, you know, the jig toppers of the world.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_02]: It's like he just gets to act like this insane
- 15:08[SPEAKER_02]: incoherent freak and oh, it's just what we expect from him.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, how does that?
- 15:14[SPEAKER_02]: How do you as a reporter even deal with that?
- 15:16[SPEAKER_00]: Because I don't know that I called that is a big frustration because I think for folks who who have watched this
- 15:28[SPEAKER_00]: for such a long time and see the difference.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_00]: It's frustrating to see the comparison between the way that they treated Joe Biden versus the way that they treat Trump.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_00]: I remember when Biden was on his bike doing a thing and there were quarters were like a right in front of him and so he had to stop and he was wearing those bike clips, those shoes that like stick into the pedals.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_00]: and he didn't pop his clip the right way on a shoe and so it, you know, having to abruptly stop because people were right there and not pop his foot out the right way meant that he like stumbled and fell over there.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_00]: and everybody was just like, oh my god, this is the end times he's gonna, he's on his deathbed.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_00]: If you remember George W. Bush had like a black eye for a while because he choked on a pretzel and fell over and hit like the coffee table.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_00]: And so there are obviously times where we have residents who are complete clutches.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't understand why Trump is getting a pass for something that is not just an innocent, like, oh, we've heard of something.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_00]: And you're right.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_00]: Like, the tapers stuff is really frustrating.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, I've kind of stayed quiet because I'm friends with tapers.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_00]: And so it's hard for me to, like, I'm just being, like, good on you for saying your whatever, you know, saying your piece.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_00]: But clearly, you know, I don't agree with it because it's not the same accounting that I was hearing for people in Washington.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_00]: So I think what is the frustrating thing in terms of the way it's being covered is I think we get to weigh with a loculating himself.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_00]: by constantly acting insane.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's sort of also the idea of the way that they want.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_00]: They as the White House want to deal with coverage of
- 17:38[SPEAKER_00]: of different things like there's always a distraction.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_00]: There's always something to pull you in some different direction.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_00]: Steve Bannon used to, was the one who really started the fire hose aspect of news where it's like, if something terrible happens and you screw up something, then we just fire hose it with them, levity billion things.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_00]: And so to some extent, I think a lot of the things that Trump does
- 18:01[SPEAKER_00]: are intentionally insane, intentionally erratic, intentionally stupid, two draw people away from what is really going on.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I think a lot of that, that became a topic of conversation when he bombed our man, because everybody goes like, is he doing this because he, you know, he can't fix the economy because he's tanked the economy over mistakes with tariffs.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_00]: You know, what is he, he trying to distract us from domestically?
- 18:31[SPEAKER_00]: And so I think from some for some extent it's frustrating because watching the news
- 18:39[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's different with Rostory because we are non-stop pushing out content constantly from several different people.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_00]: Whereas mainstream media is deciding what is going to be the focus that night.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_00]: And shows will do four blocks in their hour where they decide what the topic and what the conversation is going to be.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_00]: And we are not hamstrung by that same
- 19:08[SPEAKER_00]: You know, requirement where we can just kind of follow the fire hose, we can get every bit of the water.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_00]: But folks who are on TV, you know, can't necessarily do that and not every, you know, New York Times story is going to be going to the weeds with, you know, some mental health expert about
- 19:29[SPEAKER_00]: you know, has he lost his mind.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_00]: So it's frustrating, it's easy for us to get it.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that helps us stay in business, essentially.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_00]: But we're not obviously the mainstream media.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_00]: We're not the ones that are getting all of the readership and attention.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_00]: We're basically preaching to choir.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_02]: Do you see any difference in viewership basically since the election?
- 19:57[SPEAKER_02]: Because I have not watched MSNBC
- 20:00[SPEAKER_02]: which was my go-to, and I haven't watched it since the election.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_02]: I will say that it was on briefly in our house on Saturday because of the bombing, but and it wasn't my choice.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_02]: It was my boyfriend.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if you know I'm with my boyfriend as Bob Saska, but he wanted to watch it, so I didn't argue.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_02]: But I have a problem.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I love Lawrence O'Donnell, and I love Rachel Maddo, and I love
- 20:24[SPEAKER_02]: a number of people on that network.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_02]: It's the problem that I have is that the CEOs are kind of like leaning into fascism and in black history, among they got rid of all their people of color.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_02]: And it just really pisses me off and I understand the importance of having some kind of, I don't know, national news, but this isn't really like the national news.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_02]: It's a cable situation.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_02]: So there isn't there is no longer this just kind of one news source that we can all look at in the grid upon and that's awful.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_02]: And I know like I feel slightly guilty because I won't give attention to MSNBC anymore.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_02]: But I wanted to ask you about that.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, as a as a as a reporter and and going out there and doing what you're doing.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_02]: Do you see a difference in the viewership since the election?
- 21:18[SPEAKER_02]: Like for me I can say for my podcast I, you know, lost.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_02]: some followers because they were afraid.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_02]: They were afraid of the economy.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_02]: They didn't want to spend the money.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_02]: I think a lot of people who left, and it wasn't a huge portion of listeners, but it was a good enough portion.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_02]: And it was pretty much right after the election.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_02]: And they said in their exit surveys that they just couldn't bear to listen anymore.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_02]: So I mean, I don't know, what are you seeing over on the sites that you're working on?
- 21:49[SPEAKER_00]: So, I mean, just anecdotally from an engagement perspective, I think people ahead of an election, people are always going to pay more attention.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_00]: And after an election, people are always going to be like, I'm over it.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_00]: And that sort of happened both in terms of the engagement that I usually get just on social media and with people that I interact with.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_00]: you know, in a normal day for political stuff.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_00]: And it really hasn't been that different for me from, you know, I think, previous years.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_00]: It's been I think Trump sort of changed the game for a lot of people because there was there was always drop off.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_00]: There was always drop off there was after his first term or after his first election after Biden's election.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_00]: But usually when the New Year comes around, it kind of steps back up again and people start dipping their toes in.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_00]: I think in what just for my perspective, it seems like folks are just really tired.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_00]: And it is part of that fire hose aspect.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_00]: There's not you don't get to have a normal day of politics where it's like, you know, you're talking about really boring things like, you know, infrastructure.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, obviously that became a running joke in the first Trump campaign because
- 23:24[SPEAKER_00]: every tire in the first Trump administration because every time, you know, they wanted to strike something.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_00]: They'd be like, hey, it's infrastructure week again.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_00]: We're not going to do anything.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_00]: But now it really is, I mean, we're five and a half months in and we already bombed somebody.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_00]: And so that piece of it where it's like, well, I don't know how I'm going to do this for five months, because the first Trump administration was really hard.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_00]: Like that, that took me down.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_00]: I was burned out and exhausted.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_00]: And then COVID hit.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_00]: And it's just like, oh, geez.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_00]: So, but this time around, I feel like in the last five months, I've aged like thirty years.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I know.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_00]: I'm exhausted.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_00]: So I wonder if everybody is feeling that same kind of thing, or it's like, I really just want people just want to win.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_00]: You know, they want something that makes, you know, like I watched my basketball team back home Oklahoma City Thunder, won the championship.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_00]: And so everybody back home was just going completely insane.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_00]: And so I think people are just desperate for like we want something that's good that happens.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_02]: to bring normal something normal something that feels normal and not so traumatizing.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_02]: It's like every day the news is traumatizing.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_02]: And then I'll pop of it.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I just want to quickly say, and I'm going to talk about this a little bit more next week with my guest, but I don't know if you're familiar, but there's this woman, her name is
- 24:57[SPEAKER_02]: Michaela Reigns.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_02]: She ran the Sabaphox sanctuary.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_00]: I saw that.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_02]: Unfortunately, I was a huge fan.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I've donated.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_02]: My family has gotten me gifts from that sanctuary.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_02]: I have depended on her YouTube and Instagram channels many times, you know, for when I'm down, I go over and her relationships with those animals.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_02]: It was so beautiful and unfortunately she committed suicide.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_02]: And it's a long story.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to, like I said, I'm going to talk about it on my show next week, but it's, you know, she, she suffered from autism as well as, uh, not bipolar.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_02]: I'll think of it in a second.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_02]: BPD, I think that's what it's called BDP.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_02]: Borderline personnel in disorder.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_02]: So anyway, that's really gotten me down.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_02]: And that's why I'm bringing this out because on top of the fact that we've been stressed out and traumatized by what's been happening in the political sphere
- 25:58[SPEAKER_02]: which affects all of our lives very, you know, so much.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_02]: We're seeing people disappeared, all of that stuff.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_02]: Now, there's, I mean, this has rocked the world as far as any rescue situation, the whole rescue world is, you know, just blown away by this.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_02]: I can say that, I mean, it is affected me so deeply.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_02]: I wake up every morning and it's the first thing on my mind now.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_02]: I wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_02]: It's the first thing on my mind.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_02]: I scroll down Facebook and every fourth or fifth post is about her.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_02]: And so the whole thing that I'm trying to bring her up is like, you're talking about being exhausted and it's only been five and a half months.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we need something good.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_02]: We need
- 26:40[SPEAKER_02]: something positive and I know that I mean, I don't know what's going to happen in the midterms, but we've got a long way to go.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_02]: We've got to be kind to ourselves or something because we're not going to get through this if we just
- 26:57[SPEAKER_02]: Staying whiskey.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_02]: Whatever it is I need to do.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_00]: I remember during COVID that was one of the main things that it seemed like folks were doing in lockdown.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_00]: If you remember like Kristen Bell and her husband were doing
- 27:14[SPEAKER_00]: Like a good news podcast.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_00]: And then everybody was posting, I mean, my weakness is cute for animal videos.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_00]: So my Instagram is very carefully curated to, you know, like, a choir that's saying beautiful music and cute for animal music.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_00]: videos.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_00]: So I think, you know, that's how I sort of do my own self care.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_00]: But I think the thing that I loved about COVID is that there was so much of that where we were celebrating people doing amazing things.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_00]: We were, you know, every day at the same time, people in New York City were cheering out their windows for first responders and for nurses and doctors and stuff.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_00]: And so,
- 27:58[SPEAKER_00]: You know, things like that where I wish we could bring that back because even though we're not all terrified that we're going to die because of a pandemic, I think emotionally as a society, we need that kind of of happiness where we can at least rally around something together.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I agree.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_02]: And I mean, I'm just going to pivot over to the fact that, I mean, we've been seeing all these protests and obviously his military parade was a big bomb.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_02]: And it was so poorly attended that you could hear the tank squeaking and it appeared as if the, what is it?
- 28:36[SPEAKER_02]: Where they, who was it?
- 28:38[SPEAKER_02]: The Marines, I guess?
- 28:39[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, whoever it was marching.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_02]: appear to be out of step.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_02]: And everybody who's in the military was like, that's intentional.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_02]: They did that intentionally.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_02]: There's no way because that's like the first thing you learn.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_02]: So as a reporter from your reporter lens, what do you make of
- 28:57[SPEAKER_02]: what you're seeing from the people as far as the resistance.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_02]: We've seen, you know, Tesla go down.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_02]: It keeps losing.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_02]: We've seen definitely with like target.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_02]: They're losing money because of their DEI enforcing or getting rid of DEI should say.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously Rachel Maddow had mentioned like every single day there's protests.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_02]: This was a little while ago, so I'm not sure that there's been protests every single day since she mentioned it, but I think, you know, we are seeing, and then of course we did see, I think it was the note, was it the no kings?
- 29:30[SPEAKER_02]: That was like, I don't know.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_02]: I've heard five million in twelve million.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_02]: Do you know the actual number?
- 29:36[SPEAKER_00]: I've heard most of the ones that I was hearing were over ten million.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_00]: I felt like we're credible.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that would be if it was over ten million, I think I don't know what the actual number is that we have to hit to get to the percentage of people that basically takes this into a trajectory where it's not going to stop.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_02]: But I think we're there because, you know, we keep seeing, you know, one of the things I'm just going to throw in is
- 30:04[SPEAKER_02]: Supposedly, I think there was even an elected official, so please forgive me for not remembering who she was.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_02]: But an elected official who called out to the Cholos, which is again in Los Angeles, to put aside their differences with other gangs and to escort anybody who is picked up by ICE or whatever, basically fight back against ICE.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, I used to live in Los Angeles.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_02]: I'm very well aware of all these gangs, and I think this woman got in trouble for saying that, but I, you know, I'm all for it, you know, because we're in times that are not normal.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, I don't like that there are gang members, but if they're going to exist, I'd like to see them fighting back against ICE.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_02]: So what is your take on everything that you're seeing from like that, like I said, that reporter lens?
- 30:55[SPEAKER_00]: I just sat a huge question.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_00]: What I've noticed is that
- 31:04[SPEAKER_00]: To some extent, I see local or local elected officials really stepping up in ways that I and not used to.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_00]: So, I mean, obviously, my lens is always looking back at home because it's a red state and it's really conservative.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_00]: And so, I'm always kind of looking at, you know, is this message from Democrats sinking into that
- 31:31[SPEAKER_00]: to that world.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_00]: And if it is, then that means holy crap, it's huge.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_00]: It's a big deal if it does.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_00]: And so I'm starting to hear people who are actually repeating the idea of their Republicans are cutting your Medicaid to fund tax cuts to billionaires.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_00]: That message is definitely sinking in.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_00]: Good.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_00]: The other thing is a good friend of mine just want a special election in a house seat in Tulsa.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_00]: And she's like my age.
- 32:08[SPEAKER_00]: And so I'm always excited to see that a young person regardless of party is running for office.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_00]: But what I'm starting to see beyond just like my circle of friends from home in the town of young people are now stepping up to run for office because people are angry and they want something proactive to do with it.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_00]: Taking to the streets is great.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_00]: Like it makes for a good kind of camaraderie and I absolutely love taking pictures of it in just so much fun.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_00]: I love protest signs.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're so funny.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_00]: And so like anybody you can do, especially if there's a pun in it, it just makes my day.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_00]: I love pun, punny protest signs.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_00]: So if I could have my drill brothers, I would just sit on a photography platform and just take pictures of protest signs.
- 33:04[SPEAKER_00]: But so it's great to rally folks around that, but I think once you do beyond that and the boycott thing is happening, but it is having an effect.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_00]: I saw the head of the NAACP talk about the DEI protest for target and already people
- 33:27[SPEAKER_00]: You know, the LGBTQ community broke up with Target over the fight over Pride stuff.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_00]: That last year or the year before.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_00]: So already, you know, Target took a little bit of a hit.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_00]: Now it's expanding who is alienating and with the DEI thing.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_00]: And so now it's really having an impact.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_00]: And I want to say it was like,
- 33:48[SPEAKER_00]: The CEO had to like slash their own salary, which I mean, obviously, if you're getting several million to dollars a year as the CEO, but your shareholders are just being crushed.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_00]: It's not a good look, right?
- 34:05[SPEAKER_00]: So there is an impact beyond just taking to the streets.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_00]: And that is what I'm sort of watching in terms of, you know, it is what, like, we're more than a year out.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_00]: We're year and a half out from the midterm election and people are already signing up to run for office.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_00]: And that blows my mind.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_00]: That has never happened like that before.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_02]: That's great to hear.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_02]: That is great to hear.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_02]: All right, so what I'm going to do is kind of use that to spring off of the whole Cuomo situation in New York.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_02]: So you know, we know Bill Clinton.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_02]: You supported Cuomo, came out and endorsed him.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_02]: Evidently Bill Clinton's endorsement doesn't hold as much as it used to.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_02]: But I know there was a lot of money put behind Cuomo and the Democratic Party was supporting him.
- 34:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yet the Democratic Socialist won his name as a run, Mom Donnie.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_02]: And now I'm going to throw out my opinion here just because I want to.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_02]: But then I'm going to go back to your take on this and
- 35:12[SPEAKER_02]: how you look at this whether it's personally or through the reporter lens.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_02]: But number one, I think that the Democratic Party
- 35:21[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not a reporter.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just a big mouth with podcasts.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_02]: So what I see and I am pro Democrat.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_02]: So my goal here is not to bash Democrats.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_02]: My goal is to criticize them so that the rest of us who are just average voters put the pressure on them because a hundred and twenty eight of them voted
- 35:44[SPEAKER_02]: with the GOP against impeachment.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_02]: And we've seen Democrats voting for these fascist nominees in the confirmation process.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_02]: I don't, you know, there are a number of very vocal Democrats who are out there fighting fascism, and then there's just a bunch of the party, and it doesn't matter.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_02]: I'm talking all the way.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not just talking about the Senate in the House.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_02]: I'm talking everybody in the party, whether you're a Comptroller, whether you're at a school, wherever you are, I think what I would like to see is total unity and obstruction, because that's all the GOP ever did when Democrats were in office.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_02]: They found ways
- 36:21[SPEAKER_02]: to obstruct and delay and basically get in the way of the Democratic agenda.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't see the Democrats doing that with Republicans.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_02]: What I'm seeing is this kind of, you know, everything's normal and we're just doing what we normally do.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_02]: And I've heard people argue with me online or I've seen them argue with me online.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_02]: that this whole vote for impeachment wasn't going to go through anyway.
- 36:43[SPEAKER_02]: That's what the point.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_02]: The point is the democratic party needs to show its voters that it's unified against fascism.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_02]: This is not just your grand old party that everybody was used to, fifteen years ago.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_02]: Everything is different now.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_02]: In this election,
- 37:00[SPEAKER_02]: It was a big deal.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_02]: It was a big, big fucking deal.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_02]: And now Cuomo is teasing that he might be running as an independent.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_02]: And there's kind of two lines of thinking on this because if he does in the election as an November, if he runs as an independent, he could split the Democratic ticket, giving the Republicans the win.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_02]: The other line on this and this is my mother.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_02]: I talked to her today.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_02]: She's a political junkie and she's pretty good at this stuff.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_02]: I think her hopeful take on this was that because it was New York and because of what we're seeing happening in Los Angeles with ICE and New York absolutely knows.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_02]: It's one of those cities that is, I don't know if it's going to happen in New York.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_02]: It's been happening in Los Angeles before this election either way.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_02]: New Yorkers can see that it's happening.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_02]: So we really don't know what he's going to decide and how this is going to play out.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_02]: I pretty much trust that New Yorkers would vote for the Democrat.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_02]: But I just, you know, on your opinion on this, I don't know where you stand on talking about your feelings on the Democratic Party.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_02]: But at the very least, you know, just from that perspective of what you're witnessing, how do you see this between the two parties?
- 38:13[SPEAKER_02]: What is your take on these two parties?
- 38:16[SPEAKER_00]: So I definitely agree with your mother.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_00]: I think the reason that you have it seen what's happening in LA happen in New York City is because Eric Adams has a deal with the White House.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_00]: And I think it will depend on who takes over that office.
- 38:32[SPEAKER_00]: how Donald Trump responds.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_00]: And so I think interesting.
- 38:38[SPEAKER_00]: So I think if it's I don't I think folks in New York are probably looking for a fighter.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_00]: It seems like the the focus groups and the polls that I've heard about indicate that that's what voters really want is somebody who will fight back against Donald Trump.
- 38:55[SPEAKER_00]: Even though this is this is a local election and
- 39:00[SPEAKER_00]: like my number one issue is potholes and stuff like that.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_00]: So it's obviously different from this year, rather than other years.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_00]: And so I think folks are looking at the icing and realizing this is going to come to a town near us soon.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_00]: And they're going to want somebody who's brave enough to fight back.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't think people necessarily trust that Cuomo is that guy.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 39:32[SPEAKER_00]: He kind of was a little bit during COVID.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_00]: But I feel like since then, he really has just disappeared.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_00]: And so it just kind of became an opportunity for him to try and reignite his own political career.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_00]: And I think voters are just like, bro, we're not here for you.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_00]: We need somebody to actually fight for our city.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_00]: In terms of what I see in Congress, that is the most frustrating thing in the world is just how boring Democrats are.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_00]: And it's the Senate mostly, just because that's on my mind, because of the bovie hearing yesterday that I watched from the judiciary committee.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_00]: And you have these folks like, you know, Sheldon White House and Blumenthal, who are some of the smartest people that they have in office.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_00]: And they were a little bit more animated.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_00]: Adam shifts more animated.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm looking at Dick Durbin being like the most boring person.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_00]: Like, this is interesting stuff that you could be talking about.
- 40:47[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, this guy has had all kinds of crazy allegations against him.
- 40:53[SPEAKER_00]: And he was talking, like, he was evading all of their questions.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_00]: And Derbyn was just so chill and calm about it.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_00]: And it took White House and Blumenthal to step up and be like,
- 41:09[SPEAKER_00]: you know, you're giving conflicting statements.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_00]: Like they, they didn't call them an outright liar, which was sad because that would have made a great headline, but things like that where, you know, we see who just became the chair of the oversight too many after Representative Connelly passed.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, it's, again, it's like another boring Democrat.
- 41:35[SPEAKER_00]: And it's like, man, if you're talking about oversight, you want somebody like Jasmine Crocket, you want somebody like AOC, not necessarily because they are smarter or better, but because they will draw attention to it and make the headlines.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_00]: And that is the one failure that Democrats tend to do is they sort of
- 41:56[SPEAKER_00]: they still think in this mindset of there is campaign season and there's legislating season and neither the two shall meet and it I mean it has been that way for like thirty years I'm sure longer but in terms of my career I've watched this happen for decades where I'm like you only to have a non-stop campaign season like you're not you're not doing this right and it just from a marketing perspective
- 42:24[SPEAKER_00]: You know, if you have somebody like Marjorie Taylor Greem, go up against, you know, Dick Durbin.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_00]: It's obviously on an intellectual level, like she's going to get crushed, but a lot of people don't listen to what anybody says.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_00]: They just look at the picture on TV.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_00]: They look at the listen to the sound of the yelling, right?
- 42:47[SPEAKER_00]: And that just kind of is going to kill somebody like,
- 42:52[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Derbender, some of the more dull members.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's true for Jeffries, too.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_00]: Like a team Jeffries is smart.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_00]: He's good at raising a lot of money.
- 43:08[SPEAKER_00]: But every press conference I've ever seen, I'm falling asleep.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_00]: So, bro, come on.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_00]: Like you're killing us.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_02]: One hundred percent.
- 43:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's very frustrating.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_02]: And I mean, you know, the thing that is the most frustrating to me is that they're treating this fascist regime as just, you know, the Republican party of yesterday.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_02]: And that's not who we're dealing with.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_02]: And it makes voters scared.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_02]: It makes voters, I mean, I'm a voter.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, you know, we're still in, here's what I think.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_02]: I think that because of what Donald Trump and Steven Miller and all these people are doing,
- 43:46[SPEAKER_02]: I think voters will be motivated, and they won't need that push.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_02]: But is the Democratic Party going to learn a lesson from this in the following elections?
- 43:55[SPEAKER_02]: And that's what scares me because the boring times, and I put this on the voters, boring times, people don't pay attention, and they don't vote.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_02]: People think, I just, you know, they're so proud of themselves for voting.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_02]: You know, every two years.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, well, there's elections every year.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_02]: And the most important elections are those local elections because they're absolutely affecting your rights and what you can and can't do.
- 44:21[SPEAKER_02]: And people just don't pay attention.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't know.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it'll be interesting to see how because of this democratic socialist winning.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, all they can say, Oliver Fox News is definitely socialist.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_02]: And then they just put a list of everything that he wants to do.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_02]: And it's just like, let's help people.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_02]: Let's just do the right thing.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, I don't know if this democratic socialist moniker is going to be a scary as they want it to be.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_02]: But we did see New Yorkers tell Cuomo to leave.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_02]: So that's got her go away.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_02]: We don't like you.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_02]: He got some votes, but you know, he did have.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_00]: But it was kind of embarrassing.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_02]: It was kind of embarrassing, especially after they had raised all that money.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_02]: And Delquinton came out for him.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, that was a sign that their things could be changing.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_02]: And I hope that this is a message to the Democratic Party.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_02]: And I know they're not going to take it today, because I know that Chuck Schumer's just going to have that sternly worded letter and his stupid speech.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_02]: But I don't know, we've got some time, and that's what I'm hoping for because everything isn't, you know, we don't have elections yet.
- 45:23[SPEAKER_02]: In the interim, we're just going to have to watch Donald Trump trash the country as much as he possibly can.
- 45:29[SPEAKER_02]: So it's all very upsetting.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_02]: And again, I'm very sorry that you have to watch every day.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_02]: That's very difficult.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_02]: But it was really fascinating talking to you.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_02]: And I do hope that you'll come back for another chat down the line.
- 45:42[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 45:42[SPEAKER_02]: I would love to.
- 45:44[SPEAKER_02]: Cool, yes, like I said, I always see you on Rick Smith's show and I'm like, I gotta get around.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_02]: So, all right, as I ask all of my guests to, as they part, please tell everybody where to find you.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_00]: You can find me on all of the, all of the social media.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_00]: I'm almost always Sarah Burris, just my name.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_00]: On Facebook, I have a page that's Sarah Caberus.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no.
- 46:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_00]: I just totally jacks my branding up.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_00]: But I, I'm funny.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_00]: I try to be funny because this, it should laugh instead of cry.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly.
- 46:20[SPEAKER_00]: Just because I, you know, I hope that I can make people a little bit more entertained throughout their day because we need it.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, we absolutely do.
- 46:30[SPEAKER_02]: Well, you know, thank you so much for what you do.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_02]: And thank you for being a guest on the show.
- 46:36[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_02]: It was great to be here.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I'm sure we'll be in touch so you take care.
