- 1:29Speaker 3: What's going on?
- 1:30Speaker 1: Brother, finally making it on the show. How you doing, man?
- 1:32Speaker 3: Man? Good, blessed? How about yourself?
- 1:34Speaker 2: Very good?
- 1:34Speaker 1: You must feel good?
- 1:35Speaker 3: Man?
- 1:36Speaker 1: Omaha is winning this week?
- 1:37Speaker 3: Yes?
- 1:38Speaker 4: Starting Bud Crawford my guy? Yeah, yeah, hell yeah did that?
- 1:42Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying.
- 1:43Speaker 1: It's crazy too because like the you know, I was
- 1:46Speaker 1: talking like because a couple with all the weight moving
- 1:48Speaker 1: up and shit like it felt like it was gonna
- 1:51Speaker 1: be a Canelo fight. It felt like but I mean, damn,
- 1:54Speaker 1: I don't know man that was.
- 1:56Speaker 4: But is like that man, and he's he's always fucked
- 1:59Speaker 4: bigger guys. You know, I'm saying, like spar bigger guys,
- 2:02Speaker 4: you know, and uh, you know, if you're from the
- 2:05Speaker 4: city and you know him. You just you just know
- 2:07Speaker 4: he's like that. You know, I'm not going to say
- 2:09Speaker 4: that I just knew that it was going to be
- 2:11Speaker 4: like that, but I for sure it was like.
- 2:13Speaker 3: I think, I think, but I got this for sure.
- 2:15Speaker 1: What is like? Because obviously, like Omaha is a place
- 2:17Speaker 1: that I feel like it's kind of underrated in terms
- 2:20Speaker 1: of like this. Yeah, you know, I got a lot
- 2:23Speaker 1: of homies who ended up in Arizona from Omaha. It's
- 2:28Speaker 1: it's kind of like I mean, you know, in terms
- 2:30Speaker 1: of like national identity, it's the college and it's Aaron
- 2:34Speaker 1: Crawford and hip hop. It's really you.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Know, yes, sir, yes, sir?
- 2:37Speaker 1: What is what is like? Kind of growing up in Omaha?
- 2:40Speaker 4: Like, man, I've always I've always called it the melting pot.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Man.
- 2:45Speaker 4: It's just it's just a mixture of so many different
- 2:48Speaker 4: people from so many different places, you know what I mean.
- 2:52Speaker 4: A bunch of people from California out there, a bunch
- 2:55Speaker 4: of people from uh, you know, the East Coast out there,
- 2:57Speaker 4: a bunch of it's like you know what I mean,
- 2:59Speaker 4: like you always end up seeing somebody that's from some
- 3:02Speaker 4: different area out there, and uh and I think that
- 3:05Speaker 4: that works in our favors as far as like, especially
- 3:07Speaker 4: like with the music scene, because we were just able
- 3:09Speaker 4: to get so many different influences, you know what I mean.
- 3:12Speaker 4: Like it wasn't just like it was like Midwest Midwest, yes,
- 3:16Speaker 4: yea yeah, but like I grew up listening to you know,
- 3:21Speaker 4: uh like my step Pops. He would have ice Cube
- 3:25Speaker 4: cassette tapes, then you have a Bone Thugs CD, then
- 3:30Speaker 4: would listening to E forty then some nas. It's like
- 3:32Speaker 4: it's you know what I mean. So it wasn't like
- 3:33Speaker 4: it was just one thing, you know what I mean.
- 3:36Speaker 4: So I was like, I feel like that played in
- 3:37Speaker 4: my favor, especially with a starting to get into hip
- 3:40Speaker 4: hop and stuff myself.
- 3:41Speaker 3: I just listened to everything.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Who was like the big artist out of Omaha? Like
- 3:47Speaker 1: was there anybody who kind of made it or was
- 3:48Speaker 1: like on the come up like that you like when
- 3:50Speaker 1: you were coming up?
- 3:52Speaker 4: Uh, not necessary, I would not necessarily there were there
- 3:54Speaker 4: were some people that just made noise locally, but there
- 3:58Speaker 4: was we didn't have any like breakout artists, you know
- 4:00Speaker 4: what I mean. That like just like really really really
- 4:03Speaker 4: took off from Mam Hall, right, So it was there
- 4:05Speaker 4: was definitely a challenge for sure.
- 4:07Speaker 1: How do you end up because you've been with Strange
- 4:09Speaker 1: for a minute, now what ended up? You know, having
- 4:12Speaker 1: you get on their radar, Travis Tech, all those guys
- 4:15Speaker 1: like what.
- 4:15Speaker 4: Was the Yeah, it was uh it was it was
- 4:18Speaker 4: my boy twisted insane. Yeah, shout out to my brother man.
- 4:21Speaker 4: We were we were on the road and making a
- 4:25Speaker 4: lot of noise, you know, on the internet realm, you
- 4:28Speaker 4: know what I mean. And we ended up on this
- 4:31Speaker 4: tour and Tech just popped out to one of the
- 4:35Speaker 4: Kansas City show that we had surprised the funk out
- 4:37Speaker 4: of me, and he was like, I've been hearing a
- 4:40Speaker 4: lot about you, people saying you the new Tech nine.
- 4:42Speaker 4: That's what he kept saying verbatim. He's like, you do
- 4:44Speaker 4: new Tech nine. I had to come see what's all about.
- 4:46Speaker 4: You got too much talent. And this is before I
- 4:48Speaker 4: go on stage. I'm like, oh, ship, like number one.
- 4:51Speaker 4: I don't expect Tech nine to be in this little
- 4:53Speaker 4: hole in the wall that we were doing this show
- 4:55Speaker 4: in and I'm talking about he got there like literally
- 4:58Speaker 4: like three minutes before I went on You like, I'm
- 5:00Speaker 4: here to see you.
- 5:01Speaker 3: I'm about to watch your whole show set.
- 5:03Speaker 1: I got show.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Yeah, you know what I'm saying. I'm like, damn, I
- 5:07Speaker 3: can't fuck up nothing.
- 5:08Speaker 4: So uh, the whole time I'm doing my doing my show,
- 5:11Speaker 4: He's standing like off to the side of the stage
- 5:14Speaker 4: just like this, just watching.
- 5:15Speaker 3: The whole whole entire time. He just vibing.
- 5:17Speaker 4: And after that we exchanged information and then he invited
- 5:21Speaker 4: me out to his mansion to kick it and was like, yeah,
- 5:23Speaker 4: let's just start connecting.
- 5:25Speaker 3: You know.
- 5:25Speaker 4: We spend a lot of time together just you know,
- 5:28Speaker 4: just functioning those mummy shit before it turned into him
- 5:30Speaker 4: saying like, I finally got a song for you, and
- 5:33Speaker 4: that song turned into uh a song that was on
- 5:36Speaker 4: a UFC three soundtrack, you know what I mean. I
- 5:40Speaker 4: was like, damn you getting me checks from you a
- 5:41Speaker 4: sports now? Okay, right, and then he offered me to
- 5:44Speaker 4: go on this tour with him. We went on this tour,
- 5:47Speaker 4: whooped ass on the tour and uh, I want to
- 5:51Speaker 4: say six seven months after that, him and Trav called me, Wow,
- 5:54Speaker 4: what you're trying to do?
- 5:55Speaker 1: That's were you like? Did you come up like listening
- 5:58Speaker 1: to tech obviously being in Fields by.
- 5:59Speaker 4: Man, Hell yeah, yeah, A lot of a lot of
- 6:01Speaker 4: Tech nine, a lot of Do or Die, Twister, Bone Thugs.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, it's crazy too because I feel like that's
- 6:10Speaker 1: a big look. But then like fast forward, when you
- 6:13Speaker 1: cut the record that ends up being the song the
- 6:16Speaker 1: rockets on. Yeah, did you know the rock like was
- 6:19Speaker 1: your verse recorded first or did you already know the
- 6:22Speaker 1: rock was on it when you decided to cut your verse?
- 6:24Speaker 3: Like what? Na?
- 6:25Speaker 4: So he had he told me he had this song
- 6:27Speaker 4: idea and he was like, I'm gonna call it face
- 6:31Speaker 4: off boom boom bam. And I'm just thinking like, oh,
- 6:33Speaker 4: this is just another Tech nine records, so we're just
- 6:35Speaker 4: gonna knock the song out. So once I send my
- 6:40Speaker 4: verse in, he called me.
- 6:42Speaker 3: He like, I got an idea.
- 6:43Speaker 4: Man.
- 6:43Speaker 3: He was like, and I don't know if it's gonna work.
- 6:44Speaker 4: And I'm like, what you mean, Like I want to
- 6:46Speaker 4: I want the rock to I just want to have
- 6:48Speaker 4: the rock like talk some ship on the back end
- 6:50Speaker 4: of the song, just like talk on it. I don't
- 6:51Speaker 4: know if he'll do it, because he's doing I think
- 6:53Speaker 4: he was in the middle of Black Adam or something
- 6:56Speaker 4: like that around that time, and uh, he was like,
- 7:00Speaker 4: I'll see what he got going on and next thing,
- 7:02Speaker 4: you know, Like I was like, I was like, what's
- 7:05Speaker 4: that sa you know. I was like, I think you
- 7:06Speaker 4: could pull it off. I said, the Rock fuck with
- 7:08Speaker 4: you man. He was like, I don't know if he'll
- 7:09Speaker 4: do I said, he fuck with you, He'll do I
- 7:10Speaker 4: feel like he'll do it.
- 7:11Speaker 1: He always he's always posting it.
- 7:13Speaker 3: He loves you know what I'm Yeah.
- 7:16Speaker 4: So hit me back like probably like a week later
- 7:18Speaker 4: and was like he said, he said funk that I
- 7:22Speaker 4: want to rap on it. I was like, oh, ship,
- 7:25Speaker 4: you know what I mean. So then that turned in
- 7:27Speaker 4: it like that like he like that was not the
- 7:29Speaker 4: original plan was to have the Rock rapping on the
- 7:31Speaker 4: tail end of the song.
- 7:32Speaker 3: So then they started connecting.
- 7:34Speaker 4: And then when we heard the verse, when it was
- 7:36Speaker 4: all said and done, I was like, Oh, this is
- 7:38Speaker 4: about to turn into something for sure. And then he
- 7:40Speaker 4: ended up making it a part of his rollout campaign
- 7:42Speaker 4: for his clothing line for Project Rock, and this was
- 7:46Speaker 4: I was like, this is about to be some ship.
- 7:48Speaker 3: So when we shot the video, I.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Was like, and there's the video, Like it's one thing
- 7:52Speaker 1: to get the Rock to do a song, to get
- 7:54Speaker 1: him to do a video.
- 7:55Speaker 4: Yeah, I think I think when they flew out to
- 7:57Speaker 4: where he was at, he was he had to step
- 7:59Speaker 4: off the movie and knocked that out in like twenty
- 8:02Speaker 4: thirty minutes, like they boom boom, And I think they
- 8:05Speaker 4: said the shirt that they bought for him was so
- 8:08Speaker 4: it wasn't big enough, so he had to like rip
- 8:10Speaker 4: it and that's what he ended up wearing.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Checked out.
- 8:12Speaker 4: Yeah, I was like, yeah, I was like, this is
- 8:14Speaker 4: I was like, this is dope as fuck, man, And
- 8:17Speaker 4: the support that he that he offered the song is
- 8:19Speaker 4: what really took it over the top.
- 8:21Speaker 1: This is one thing to like do this through the record,
- 8:23Speaker 1: but it's like to get the biggest movie start of
- 8:25Speaker 1: the world to push something.
- 8:26Speaker 4: And posting it and tagging us and you know, go
- 8:29Speaker 4: live with us on YouTube.
- 8:31Speaker 3: He's a stand up dude.
- 8:32Speaker 4: Definitely, like like he hit me on the side note
- 8:35Speaker 4: after the fact and he was like, he was like, man,
- 8:38Speaker 4: I love your message and your music about mental health.
- 8:40Speaker 4: He was like, He's like I've been tapped in. He
- 8:41Speaker 4: was like, I've seen you got some kids. What's what
- 8:44Speaker 4: size clothes or they wear? And I'm thinking, like me
- 8:47Speaker 4: sending a couple of shirts some shit like that. Man,
- 8:50Speaker 4: When outside one day. It was like ten big ass
- 8:53Speaker 4: project rock boxes.
- 8:54Speaker 3: I'm talking abot.
- 8:55Speaker 4: I couldn't even open my door. I had to go
- 8:56Speaker 4: out the garage and get it. Shoes, old wardrobe he.
- 8:58Speaker 3: Sent my kids.
- 8:59Speaker 1: That's fire. That's a big shout out to the rock Yeah,
- 9:02Speaker 1: real shit, have you guys got to meet face to face?
- 9:04Speaker 3: Shit?
- 9:04Speaker 1: No?
- 9:05Speaker 3: Not yet?
- 9:05Speaker 1: Yeah one day. Hell yeah, you gotta get them on
- 9:08Speaker 1: your shit.
- 9:08Speaker 3: Now that that would be dope.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Hey, we got to stop the interview to tell you
- 9:12Speaker 2: about our good folks.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Odd Socks.
- 9:14Speaker 3: Man.
- 9:14Speaker 1: Now, these are the odd socks basics, ladies and gentlemen.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Now when I tell you this is a product that
- 9:21Speaker 1: every single day I'm alive for the last five six
- 9:25Speaker 1: years I have used are these odd socks basics. Now,
- 9:29Speaker 1: what odd Socks is doing is they're kind of reinventing
- 9:31Speaker 1: the sock game, if we're being honest, and the underwear game.
- 9:33Speaker 1: You know, a lot of times you'll hit Walmart, you'll
- 9:35Speaker 1: hit Target, you'll get some socks, you get some draws.
- 9:38Speaker 1: They're affordable, stand up with holes in them. They don't
- 9:41Speaker 1: really feel great. Not odd socks, Ladies and gentlemen, These
- 9:44Speaker 1: odd Socks basics are the most comfortable socks I've ever
- 9:47Speaker 1: had on my feet. Not only that, but you're super
- 9:51Speaker 1: affordable fourteen ninety nine for a six pack. That's it,
- 9:56Speaker 1: odd socks dot Com.
- 9:58Speaker 2: And if you don't believe me, sock check full.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Wait that's ex is on the other side.
- 10:05Speaker 3: There we go.
- 10:06Speaker 2: Ah, you see that.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Sorry you had to see those white legs. But it's
- 10:12Speaker 1: so dope that you know. I get to push a
- 10:14Speaker 1: product that I use in that I love so odd
- 10:17Speaker 1: socks they got the six pack of socks for fourteen
- 10:19Speaker 1: ninety nine a odd socks dot com. The basics, this
- 10:22Speaker 1: is the future of socks, the future of underwear comfort
- 10:27Speaker 1: and affordability. I'm talking about affordability without jeopardizing the quality
- 10:32Speaker 1: because they are the most comfortable socks you ever put
- 10:34Speaker 1: on your feet. Ladies and gents and the ETCeteras. Got
- 10:37Speaker 1: to show love to the ETCeteras. We like all the
- 10:39Speaker 1: stripes on the flag. There are odd socks dot com. Man,
- 10:42Speaker 1: much love to my brothers over there. Make sure you
- 10:44Speaker 1: get some right now, odd socks dot Com. Let's get
- 10:47Speaker 1: back to the interview. Did you kind of initially get
- 10:49Speaker 1: into like taking music series.
- 10:51Speaker 4: I'd say probably like in the early two thousands. I got,
- 10:55Speaker 4: I got, I got a big bro name or Snake
- 10:57Speaker 4: Luchi is his artist name. He was doing some time
- 11:00Speaker 4: upstate and he he just called me. He would call
- 11:02Speaker 4: me and he was just like, I'm trying to do
- 11:05Speaker 4: this rap thing and he would spit versus and shiit
- 11:07Speaker 4: to me. I'm like, damn, this is this is actually dope.
- 11:09Speaker 4: So when he touched down, he had took me to
- 11:11Speaker 4: a studio with him, and I was like, I'm gonna
- 11:14Speaker 4: try this shit. I'm take a stab at. It's probably
- 11:15Speaker 4: like two thousand and one, two thousand and two something
- 11:17Speaker 4: like that. He's on your album yep, yep, shout out
- 11:20Speaker 4: Snake with you yep. And yeah, like he showed me
- 11:24Speaker 4: how to count bars and you know, show me that,
- 11:26Speaker 4: you know, the structure and measures and stuff like that
- 11:28Speaker 4: and metaphors and all of that. But you know, I was,
- 11:30Speaker 4: you know, I've always been an avid hip hop listener,
- 11:33Speaker 4: so I picked up pretty quick. Yeah, Like, that's how
- 11:35Speaker 4: I used to learn songs. There was no website to
- 11:38Speaker 4: go find lyrics. I used to write them down on
- 11:40Speaker 4: the sheet of paper. And I'm like, and that's how
- 11:42Speaker 4: I would learn songs. So I'm like already know that.
- 11:44Speaker 4: I'm already seeing the structure and the science behind it.
- 11:48Speaker 4: So then, yeah, we just started doing records like that.
- 11:50Speaker 4: And I put out my first ever album in seven
- 11:54Speaker 4: and ironically enough, on a couple of years before that
- 11:58Speaker 4: is when I did meet Tech.
- 12:00Speaker 3: It was like five, it's like fifteen or something like that.
- 12:02Speaker 1: It's a different Tech nine and oh fire, yeah, every
- 12:06Speaker 1: ready Tech, it's a wild guy.
- 12:07Speaker 3: Yeah. I wasn't even I wasn't even supposed to be
- 12:09Speaker 3: in the show.
- 12:10Speaker 4: And I remember I went to the show and his
- 12:13Speaker 4: agent at the time that got me in the show,
- 12:16Speaker 4: and uh, they almost didn't let me in. I think
- 12:17Speaker 4: it was like a twenty one and up event, and
- 12:19Speaker 4: I remember watching them on stage. I was like, I
- 12:21Speaker 4: ain't never seen no shit like this before in my life.
- 12:23Speaker 4: I was like, I want, I want to do this.
- 12:25Speaker 4: This is the type of shit I want to do.
- 12:26Speaker 4: It was a party, man, you know what I'm saying.
- 12:28Speaker 4: And I was like, this is still Tech on his
- 12:31Speaker 4: you know, his his upright for sure?
- 12:33Speaker 3: You know.
- 12:33Speaker 4: It was like a five hundred cap fire hundred cap
- 12:35Speaker 4: venue and it was just turned the fuck up, and
- 12:38Speaker 4: I'm like, Okay, went back there and I met him,
- 12:40Speaker 4: and we got a picture of that moment too, which
- 12:42Speaker 4: is crazy to think because like, what ten eleven years
- 12:45Speaker 4: after that, he's coming to my show and that's you know,
- 12:48Speaker 4: put me on his label.
- 12:49Speaker 1: That's big man. So at what point, because for people
- 12:55Speaker 1: who don't know, you have a tattoo on your face
- 12:56Speaker 1: that says sobriety as your superpower. Yes, So did you
- 12:59Speaker 1: have an addiction issue? And at what point in time?
- 13:03Speaker 1: Because I feel like that's one thing that's like the
- 13:04Speaker 1: hardest thing to kind of get wrangled.
- 13:08Speaker 4: Yeah, man, Yeah, I battled a drug addiction and alcohol
- 13:11Speaker 4: addiction for a while. It's been better over the obviously
- 13:16Speaker 4: over the course of me getting my deal and moving
- 13:20Speaker 4: around and having to really really clean up my health
- 13:22Speaker 4: and stuff like that, I really started going to the
- 13:25Speaker 4: gym a lot, you know, just really just you know,
- 13:28Speaker 4: I was destroying myself, man.
- 13:29Speaker 1: You know what, what were you like, drugs a choice?
- 13:31Speaker 3: Man?
- 13:32Speaker 4: I was doing everything. Yeah, I was mixing the mastering
- 13:35Speaker 4: a lot. You know, I was like, you know, hella opioids,
- 13:38Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying, man.
- 13:40Speaker 3: Yeah. But then it also it also didn't help that,
- 13:44Speaker 3: you know, being in psychiatric wards where like yes, and
- 13:49Speaker 3: that was.
- 13:50Speaker 4: I was a part of my release, like, if you
- 13:51Speaker 4: don't take this ship, then you're gonna come back and
- 13:54Speaker 4: come back. I was already yeah, I was already already
- 13:57Speaker 4: had access to a lot of the ship that they
- 13:58Speaker 4: were I was hearing people rap about sh I'm like, I.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Got a prescription.
- 14:02Speaker 3: I'm like, I got this, you know what I'm saying.
- 14:03Speaker 4: So I'm like, oh, this is about to work in
- 14:05Speaker 4: my favorite you know what I'm saying. But over the
- 14:07Speaker 4: course of time, I'm like, I am destroying myself.
- 14:09Speaker 3: Man.
- 14:09Speaker 4: And once I got a once I started moving around
- 14:12Speaker 4: with tech, I would say the tours were insane. We're
- 14:16Speaker 4: pretty fucking dope. But then when I got on the
- 14:18Speaker 4: road with tech man and I'm like.
- 14:21Speaker 3: Oh this is serious. You really have to be able
- 14:23Speaker 3: to manage your well.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Yeah, you you come in on the label, like when
- 14:28Speaker 1: things are cleaned up, there's the rule book.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Yeah, tex text sober, Yeah, thank.
- 14:34Speaker 4: God, Yeah, who knows whatever, you know what I'm sayure,
- 14:36Speaker 4: But being out there on that road, man, I learned
- 14:39Speaker 4: really really quick. I'm like, man, if you don't have
- 14:42Speaker 4: self control and this ship.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Especially on the road, man, because you got fans, whill
- 14:47Speaker 1: bring you ship everything.
- 14:48Speaker 4: I didn't have to ask for nothing. It just falls
- 14:51Speaker 4: in my lap. You know what I'm saying. I'm like,
- 14:52Speaker 4: anything I could ask for or even possibly wonder if
- 14:56Speaker 4: I could get access to, somebody's gonna bring.
- 14:58Speaker 2: It to me without you even asking. But you know what,
- 15:01Speaker 2: that's what I'm.
- 15:02Speaker 4: Saying, Like you just hey, I got this, I got
- 15:03Speaker 4: to meet me out by the bus. They just shower
- 15:06Speaker 4: you with gifts and you're like, oh shit, you know,
- 15:08Speaker 4: and I'm like, man, I see why a lot of
- 15:10Speaker 4: people end up fucked up, you know, and they you
- 15:13Speaker 4: know that that road gets hard to do, and you
- 15:15Speaker 4: missing your family life at home, your kids and stuff
- 15:18Speaker 4: like that, and uh, you know, you might be going
- 15:21Speaker 4: you know, it's always some shit that happened back at
- 15:23Speaker 4: the home front when you're on the road. And some
- 15:24Speaker 4: people just self medicated. I was a self medicator, Like motherfucker.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Yeah, And it's like you kind of probably feel helpless
- 15:30Speaker 1: because you're on the road. You can't go like what's
- 15:32Speaker 1: going on at home? And then I can really do
- 15:34Speaker 1: about it.
- 15:34Speaker 4: But I gotta I gotta you know, I'm out here
- 15:36Speaker 4: chasing this dream. I gotta gotta take care of paying
- 15:39Speaker 4: the bills. Yes, you feel me and uh so, you
- 15:41Speaker 4: know you'll see some of the hommies arguing with baby
- 15:44Speaker 4: mamas in the back of the bus or you know,
- 15:47Speaker 4: you know, we all just have the moments, you know,
- 15:48Speaker 4: and the next thing you know, you had to show
- 15:50Speaker 4: and somebody's offering you drink.
- 15:52Speaker 3: You like, fuck it.
- 15:52Speaker 4: I might get drunk as fuck, right, get high as fuck.
- 15:55Speaker 4: I might gonna do a little bit of this. I
- 15:56Speaker 4: might pop this snort that, whatever the fucking case may be,
- 16:00Speaker 4: in fifty sixty days of this ship, you know what
- 16:03Speaker 4: I mean.
- 16:04Speaker 2: And beat your body up even just drinking.
- 16:06Speaker 1: Like man, I like, recently I realized how how cooked
- 16:12Speaker 1: I am because I had a fucking like I went
- 16:14Speaker 1: to a Clips concert in Arizona, shut Out Clips, and
- 16:17Speaker 1: I had a talk can like a of a seltzer,
- 16:20Speaker 1: a heart like a white claw.
- 16:22Speaker 2: It's all I drank.
- 16:23Speaker 1: I woke up the next day and I felt like
- 16:25Speaker 1: I got I felt like I got fucked up the
- 16:28Speaker 1: night before.
- 16:28Speaker 3: I was like, yeah, man, what the fuck is man?
- 16:32Speaker 2: I've turned this corner of age where I really can't
- 16:35Speaker 2: drink and not.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Feel like absolute horseshit, and how it affect my entire
- 16:39Speaker 1: next day yep.
- 16:41Speaker 4: Back in the day, it was get back up. Just
- 16:43Speaker 4: drink some like a couple of coffee. Yeah, drink some
- 16:46Speaker 4: more to feel better. It's nothing. Eat some cold ass
- 16:48Speaker 4: Popeye's chicken that was left out, and we on the
- 16:50Speaker 4: road again.
- 16:51Speaker 1: You know for sure now you've had you mentioned it
- 16:55Speaker 1: a little bit earlier. You know, you're very transparent with
- 16:58Speaker 1: your music in terms of, like, you know, just the
- 17:01Speaker 1: mental health advocacy and the things that you've been through. Yes, sir,
- 17:05Speaker 1: you have been in, like you said, psychhored earlier, had
- 17:08Speaker 1: suicide attempts. Take me through that journey of like your
- 17:12Speaker 1: low points in life and what happened and how those
- 17:16Speaker 1: obviously it's it's you know, to go from that to
- 17:19Speaker 1: being a successful artist. You know, it's not an easy journey.
- 17:23Speaker 1: So so what will take me to the loads of life?
- 17:25Speaker 1: Like what was going on back then?
- 17:26Speaker 3: Man?
- 17:27Speaker 4: Like there was a lot of just uh, I'll say first,
- 17:31Speaker 4: I didn't know what accountability was for sure, and I
- 17:35Speaker 4: learned that, you know, going through a lot of shit.
- 17:38Speaker 4: You know, a lot of wild ass trauma as a child,
- 17:40Speaker 4: which obviously I feel like a lot of us do,
- 17:43Speaker 4: and it gets normalized, which I feel like is bullshit.
- 17:46Speaker 4: But going through a lot of the stuff that I
- 17:48Speaker 4: went through, I started to destroy alloted to destroy myself,
- 17:53Speaker 4: you know what I mean, Like, all right, you're depressed
- 17:57Speaker 4: and you don't want to acknowledge this, or you have
- 17:58Speaker 4: an addiction and you don't want to knowledge that you have.
- 18:01Speaker 4: You need to go to therapy, you need to talk
- 18:03Speaker 4: to somebody, your your manic. You got all of these
- 18:06Speaker 4: things going on, and you just feel like you can
- 18:09Speaker 4: just take on take it on yourself, you know what
- 18:11Speaker 4: I mean. And it ended up landing me in psychiatric wards,
- 18:15Speaker 4: like back to back to back to back to back.
- 18:17Speaker 4: It was I was I was a ping pong in
- 18:19Speaker 4: between psychiatric wards and incarceration. So once I got to
- 18:23Speaker 4: like like very very very rock bottom where it was
- 18:26Speaker 4: like everything I got a I got petitioned and put
- 18:29Speaker 4: under the border mental health to where it was like
- 18:31Speaker 4: there is no you checking out of this situation until
- 18:34Speaker 4: we feel like I knew it was real. I had
- 18:35Speaker 4: to sit in front of like six there's like six
- 18:37Speaker 4: judges or some shit like that, and I was like,
- 18:39Speaker 4: I got a fucking public defender at the mental hospital.
- 18:41Speaker 3: The fuck going on?
- 18:42Speaker 2: But yeah, like all but jail.
- 18:44Speaker 3: Yeah, you're not going in shackles and cuffs.
- 18:46Speaker 4: And I'm telling them, I'm saying and I'm not a
- 18:49Speaker 4: threat to myself for society, and they're like, yeah, it
- 18:52Speaker 4: sounds good, but no, you know what I mean, like,
- 18:54Speaker 4: you will remain here until we feel like you are
- 18:57Speaker 4: fit to go back out in society, and when you
- 19:00Speaker 4: do get released, you have to have these certain conditions.
- 19:03Speaker 4: And I was like, damn, this is fucked up. I'm like,
- 19:06Speaker 4: this ain't even like no legal shit, this is just
- 19:08Speaker 4: like then motherfucker's saying I'm crazy and I can't. I
- 19:12Speaker 4: can't do anything. I can't get outside or anything. So
- 19:15Speaker 4: I just was like, all right, this is my fault.
- 19:17Speaker 4: I was like, I can't.
- 19:18Speaker 3: I was one of the motherfuckers. Man. I was like,
- 19:20Speaker 3: motherfuckers did me like this?
- 19:21Speaker 2: And of course you blame it everybody else but yourself.
- 19:25Speaker 3: You know.
- 19:25Speaker 4: And I understand because shit does happen to us. You know,
- 19:28Speaker 4: they say life is nine or what ten percent of
- 19:32Speaker 4: what happens to you a ninety percent how you react
- 19:34Speaker 4: to it, yea.
- 19:35Speaker 3: I wholeheartedly believe that.
- 19:36Speaker 4: So like all of the shit that was happening to me,
- 19:38Speaker 4: I'm like, damn, man, like I'm this way because this
- 19:40Speaker 4: shit happened to me. These motherfuckers did this to me.
- 19:43Speaker 4: And but my response is my response is getting you
- 19:47Speaker 4: know what I mean?
- 19:48Speaker 1: Yeah, you have control of how you respond to that
- 19:50Speaker 1: trauma or all that shit you that's what you can control.
- 19:53Speaker 3: Yep. And I had to learn that because I'm like,
- 19:54Speaker 3: you don't give a fuck. People got me fucked.
- 19:56Speaker 4: Up, and it's like when you're sitting there, you know,
- 19:58Speaker 4: on A twenty three and one and you fucked up,
- 20:00Speaker 4: and it's like, who do you have? Nobody's picking up
- 20:03Speaker 4: the phone. I don't have my freedom, you know, they
- 20:05Speaker 4: forcing me to take pills. I got to deal with
- 20:07Speaker 4: this case. After I get out of here for some
- 20:09Speaker 4: bullshit then bounce back here. I'm like, I'm never going
- 20:12Speaker 4: to get out of this cycle. So I was like,
- 20:13Speaker 4: let me just do the self work. I really had
- 20:15Speaker 4: to do the self work. Let me go to this
- 20:17Speaker 4: group therapy shit, Let me talk to the psychiatrist. Let
- 20:19Speaker 4: me really try to articulate and find out exactly what
- 20:24Speaker 4: I'm dealing with in order to get my life back
- 20:25Speaker 4: on track. And when I do get all of this
- 20:27Speaker 4: shit dealt with, I plan on never coming back to
- 20:30Speaker 4: this motherfucker again.
- 20:31Speaker 1: I'm sayna say for you was the prison experience or
- 20:34Speaker 1: the mental ward what what?
- 20:36Speaker 3: Like?
- 20:36Speaker 2: Those are different experiences?
- 20:38Speaker 1: Obviously, Yeah, it was.
- 20:39Speaker 4: I didn't do any didn't do any time upstate I was.
- 20:42Speaker 4: I was there for like holding and processing. I don't
- 20:46Speaker 4: know why the fuck they did that, and they moved
- 20:47Speaker 4: me back to County. I think it was because of
- 20:49Speaker 4: like I had like a like a like a mild
- 20:51Speaker 4: heart attack and they moved me.
- 20:52Speaker 2: How long were you in County like a year? How
- 20:56Speaker 2: would you like the jail ship.
- 20:59Speaker 3: Compared to as a cakewalk.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Do you think the jail ship was easier than yes, yes, yeah, yeah,
- 21:04Speaker 1: because you probably are literally in there with crazy people, right, And.
- 21:12Speaker 4: I understand it because there's some crazy motherfuckers in County too,
- 21:15Speaker 4: you know, but they you know, they'll be moved to
- 21:18Speaker 4: like you know, suicide watchers, you know. But like, yeah, man,
- 21:24Speaker 4: it's it's tough because not only not only are you
- 21:27Speaker 4: dealing with what you're dealing with, but it's like you
- 21:30Speaker 4: don't really get any sleep in there. People are screaming
- 21:33Speaker 4: their fucking lungs out, do you know what I mean?
- 21:35Speaker 4: There's people in there attempting their own lives. It's like
- 21:38Speaker 4: it's it's like it's really real. And I think what
- 21:41Speaker 4: it did for me is I'm like, you know what,
- 21:43Speaker 4: maybe I'm not as fucked up as I think I am.
- 21:45Speaker 4: When I'm hearing these other people's stories and watching what
- 21:48Speaker 4: they're going through, I'm like, let me, let me get
- 21:50Speaker 4: myself together, you know, because it's like like I was,
- 21:52Speaker 4: like the ship.
- 21:53Speaker 3: In the movies.
- 21:53Speaker 4: I'm like, it's really like that people are really I
- 21:57Speaker 4: learned a lot about not only myself, but what other
- 21:59Speaker 4: people are going through. So I give people that are
- 22:02Speaker 4: consideration just in everyday life, right like, damn, okay, let me.
- 22:06Speaker 3: I don't know what this person's going through. You just
- 22:08Speaker 3: never know.
- 22:08Speaker 2: You already know.
- 22:09Speaker 1: Man. Want to give a shout out to slap Woods

- 23:06Speaker 1: follow him on Instagram at slap Woods. Let's get back
- 23:09Speaker 1: to the podcast. What were the circumstances that led you
- 23:12Speaker 1: to like essentially not being able to leave like like
- 23:15Speaker 1: and going into the like was it?
- 23:16Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 23:17Speaker 4: Uh, well, one of the situations I broke I broke
- 23:21Speaker 4: out of one. I broke out of one, which was crazy.
- 23:24Speaker 4: I didn't I don't know how the fuck I pulled
- 23:26Speaker 4: it off. Broke out of one mental hospital and they
- 23:30Speaker 4: had like this little recreation place.
- 23:32Speaker 3: Where we'd go outside and they do their little thing.
- 23:34Speaker 4: But they had this fence and I was I was like,
- 23:37Speaker 4: I could I could make it over this fence. I
- 23:39Speaker 4: was like I know. I was like, I know, I
- 23:40Speaker 4: can make it over this fence. And one day we
- 23:43Speaker 4: had lunch and where the dude would push the cart
- 23:48Speaker 4: down the hallway. I was like, if I could just
- 23:51Speaker 4: get down that hallway without nobody seeing me, you have
- 23:53Speaker 4: to he pushes this cart, I follow wherever he goes.
- 23:55Speaker 4: I can find an exit and get to this this
- 23:57Speaker 4: open yard and I could jump this fence.
- 23:59Speaker 3: And that'sactly how I did it. And they didn't catch me.
- 24:02Speaker 4: So by the time they did catch up to me,
- 24:05Speaker 4: I was in the stolen I was in the stolen whip.
- 24:07Speaker 4: They didn't catch me in the car, but they ended
- 24:08Speaker 4: up finding the car with my belongings in it. This, yeah,
- 24:11Speaker 4: this is how you stole the car. Or yeah, you
- 24:14Speaker 4: get out and you just yeah, yep, stole me a car.
- 24:17Speaker 3: I was. I was living out the car for a
- 24:19Speaker 3: little bit. I was, I was all over the place.
- 24:21Speaker 4: And this is how this is like where the petition
- 24:23Speaker 4: really really came in because when I read my petition,
- 24:26Speaker 4: I was like, oh, everybody think I'm crazy.
- 24:28Speaker 3: You know. They let you read it like.
- 24:29Speaker 4: He's a he's a danger to himself, he's a danger
- 24:32Speaker 4: to others.
- 24:32Speaker 3: He needs help.
- 24:33Speaker 2: Did you hot wire the car? Did you like take it?
- 24:35Speaker 3: No, they just took it.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Like g t A took it.
- 24:41Speaker 3: No no o the car. No no no no no
- 24:44Speaker 3: no no no no no no no.
- 24:45Speaker 4: They just they were slipping, you know what I mean,
- 24:47Speaker 4: you know, like keys, you know, like all right, like
- 24:51Speaker 4: starved me on the platter, like, oh yeah, I'm taking that.
- 24:53Speaker 4: But once I ended up there, uh once, once the
- 25:00Speaker 4: ended up catching up with me and they were like, Okay,
- 25:04Speaker 4: we're gonna put you in a way more secure place, right,
- 25:08Speaker 4: you know what I mean, way more locked down place.
- 25:11Speaker 4: Then I had the petition and then I had to
- 25:13Speaker 4: go to court in there for that, and then once
- 25:15Speaker 4: I finally got done with all of that, and I
- 25:17Speaker 4: was like I did all of the work.
- 25:18Speaker 3: I'm cool.
- 25:18Speaker 4: I'm ready to transition back into society. I wasn't even
- 25:20Speaker 4: thinking about the stolen car. So I'm walking out like
- 25:24Speaker 4: with my shit, and they're like by the way, yeah,
- 25:27Speaker 4: by the way, two sheriffs waiting out there, and they're like,
- 25:29Speaker 4: let's go so then for.
- 25:31Speaker 1: The car yep, Jesus, at what point in time is
- 25:35Speaker 1: this in the middle of you trying to make it
- 25:37Speaker 1: as an artist or yeah?
- 25:39Speaker 3: Oh fuck yeah.
- 25:40Speaker 4: So you know, but you know, at the end of
- 25:42Speaker 4: the day, it's like, you know, I had to I
- 25:44Speaker 4: had to realize the role I played in my own suffering.
- 25:47Speaker 4: I was doing a whole bunch of shit that I
- 25:48Speaker 4: shouldn't have been doing and just angry at the world.
- 25:52Speaker 1: What was the tipping point for you where you realize, like,
- 25:55Speaker 1: all right, this was it? That time you said that
- 25:57Speaker 1: like you they wouldn't let you out, Like what was it?
- 26:00Speaker 3: That was definitely the tipping point.
- 26:02Speaker 4: But I would definitely I would definitely say that was
- 26:05Speaker 4: really like I was like, Okay, when I get out
- 26:06Speaker 4: of this ship and everything is done with, I'm never
- 26:08Speaker 4: fucking looking back. But as soon as I got out,
- 26:12Speaker 4: I decided to get this this this lady pregnant man
- 26:14Speaker 4: like you from you know, I ain't gonna push you
- 26:17Speaker 4: in a while, you know, you know, I'm jumped head
- 26:20Speaker 4: first and I'm like, damn, I done created a.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Whole a whole human Yeah yeah, So I'm like, and
- 26:25Speaker 1: now you're responsible for that.
- 26:26Speaker 4: I'm like Okay, I really can't be on no bullshit now,
- 26:30Speaker 4: and I think, no, I don't think, I know that's
- 26:32Speaker 4: exactly what changed it. Becoming a father is what really
- 26:35Speaker 4: really saved me.
- 26:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I think I think, you know, Jelly Roylways says that,
- 26:38Speaker 1: like that's when he kind of he was locked up
- 26:40Speaker 1: while his baby was you.
- 26:42Speaker 3: Know, yeah, Jelly roll, Sure that's real. Ship.
- 26:46Speaker 1: So this new album, man, you got forties the record
- 26:49Speaker 1: Forties Going Crazy talk about Ghetto Psycho.
- 26:54Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, man, it was inspired by it was it
- 26:58Speaker 4: was a playoff for the movie American Psycle obviously, like
- 27:00Speaker 4: even like with the imagery and.
- 27:02Speaker 3: Shit like that, but classic.
- 27:04Speaker 4: Yeah, what I really wanted to do was I really
- 27:06Speaker 4: wanted to create a body of work that touched on
- 27:09Speaker 4: what makes you know, quote unquote ghetto psychos, you know
- 27:12Speaker 4: what I mean. And there's different variations of what you
- 27:16Speaker 4: can call a ghetto, you know, in my particular instance,
- 27:21Speaker 4: there would definitely be the hood, you know what I mean.
- 27:24Speaker 4: And we go through a lot of these things that
- 27:26Speaker 4: go unaddressed, undealt with, and normalized. And I feel like
- 27:30Speaker 4: a lot of us have a lot of crazy shit
- 27:32Speaker 4: that we just haven't dealt with and That's how the
- 27:36Speaker 4: idea of Ghetto Psycho was born. So I really wanted
- 27:38Speaker 4: to just create a body of work that.
- 27:40Speaker 1: Explained that you you have don Trip and star Leader
- 27:43Speaker 1: on the album. They got one of my favorite Steps.
- 27:46Speaker 1: They were one of my favorite albums of the year.
- 27:47Speaker 3: Yeah, Step Brothers.
- 27:49Speaker 1: Dues are going crazy right now, my guys. We'll talk
- 27:53Speaker 1: about working with those guys. Was that like a single
- 27:55Speaker 1: session or was that like a separate thing.
- 27:56Speaker 3: No. I was like, it was a separate thing, man.
- 27:58Speaker 2: And obviously they live in different cities, you know.
- 28:00Speaker 4: I just I've been a big fan of both of
- 28:02Speaker 4: them for a while and everybody had been telling me, like, man,
- 28:06Speaker 4: you need to get some ship with them, and I'm like, man,
- 28:08Speaker 4: I really want to.
- 28:08Speaker 3: I really want to do it, man.
- 28:10Speaker 4: And I felt like they're very, very very very introspective
- 28:14Speaker 4: with their lyrics, right, and I'm like, these these two
- 28:17Speaker 4: are perfect for this, for this particular project. So, uh,
- 28:21Speaker 4: Logan Garrett is a is a cat that that manages
- 28:25Speaker 4: both of them. And we started chopping up and I
- 28:29Speaker 4: was like, hey, you know, I want to get them
- 28:30Speaker 4: to on the record, and they blessed the record and
- 28:33Speaker 4: they did it, you know, and man, they whooped ass
- 28:38Speaker 4: for sure.
- 28:39Speaker 3: You know what I mean. Yeah, yeah, so I appreciate
- 28:41Speaker 3: them both.
- 28:41Speaker 4: And Nay ended up coming to the city and doing
- 28:43Speaker 4: the show not that long ago, so we actually got
- 28:45Speaker 4: to like formerly meet.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, solid too, super solid. Talk to me
- 28:50Speaker 1: because I feel like Travis has done a little bit
- 28:52Speaker 1: more interviews recently. He kind of always was like I
- 28:56Speaker 1: feel like when I first got hipped to Strange, you
- 28:58Speaker 1: would always kind of see Travis standing on tech like
- 29:01Speaker 1: and a lot of people thought he was like security.
- 29:03Speaker 2: And he kind of was to be fair back in
- 29:05Speaker 2: the day.
- 29:05Speaker 1: But you know, fast forward, I feel like, you know,
- 29:08Speaker 1: Travis's business acumen is like a lot more recognized and
- 29:14Speaker 1: you know, kind of being the guy behind the guy,
- 29:17Speaker 1: if that makes sense. Yeah, you have the song that
- 29:20Speaker 1: you dropped called Travis Ogwynn. What is something about Travis
- 29:24Speaker 1: that you feel like is misunderstood or something like how
- 29:27Speaker 1: is Travis's Because I feel like he's obviously a great
- 29:30Speaker 1: example for a lot. I mean, he's a businessman, dude,
- 29:32Speaker 1: a hustler, visionary. How key and integral has he been
- 29:37Speaker 1: for you? And just like give us something about Travis
- 29:39Speaker 1: and maybe people don't understand or.
- 29:41Speaker 4: Travis is a Travis is very very interesting man, and
- 29:47Speaker 4: there was something about him that I just was like,
- 29:50Speaker 4: a super a super respect the fact that you move
- 29:53Speaker 4: like this, but I was like, I wish that you
- 29:57Speaker 4: would set the record straight on a lot of shit.
- 30:00Speaker 4: That's what I would tell him. He was like, man,
- 30:02Speaker 4: his philosophy was. He was like, there's a lot of
- 30:05Speaker 4: shit out there people are saying about me.
- 30:06Speaker 3: He was like, if they know the truth, I know
- 30:08Speaker 3: the truth. I don't. I don't need to say anything.
- 30:10Speaker 3: I don't give a fuck. I used to.
- 30:11Speaker 4: I used to get on there and be back and
- 30:13Speaker 4: forth in the comments. She was like, I don't give
- 30:15Speaker 4: a fuck. Man, I don't care because I know. But
- 30:17Speaker 4: I'm like I was like Trav, I said, man, if
- 30:19Speaker 4: you just if you would just pop out one time
- 30:22Speaker 4: and just set the record straight on So but I
- 30:24Speaker 4: thought it was I thought it was pretty g I
- 30:25Speaker 4: was like me, I'm like, I'm not gonna let you
- 30:28Speaker 4: know what I mean. I've always been that type of person,
- 30:30Speaker 4: like somebody just you know, somebody's be in some type
- 30:32Speaker 4: of way and I need to address something, then I'm
- 30:34Speaker 4: just gonna address it. I'm not gonna let you run
- 30:36Speaker 4: with that fucking narrative and you know what I mean,
- 30:38Speaker 4: and really and.
- 30:40Speaker 3: Live like, you know what I mean, pushing that shit.
- 30:42Speaker 3: I'm like, nah, fuck that trap.
- 30:44Speaker 4: Like if they said this, because I would always ask
- 30:45Speaker 4: him like hey I heard this, like what's up with this?
- 30:47Speaker 4: He'd be like, nah, this is what happened and they
- 30:49Speaker 4: know this and you know, and he got and he
- 30:51Speaker 4: got receipts. So I'm like, trave like people people looking
- 30:55Speaker 4: at you like you the bad guy a lot.
- 30:57Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying.
- 30:57Speaker 4: But the crazy thing is is what birth the idea
- 31:01Speaker 4: of the song I did? I was like I started
- 31:03Speaker 4: going through the same type of shit where I was like,
- 31:05Speaker 4: you know what, I can't address everything, you know what
- 31:07Speaker 4: I mean. If that's the case, we'll be fighting the
- 31:09Speaker 4: whole fucking world.
- 31:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:10Speaker 1: Yeah, you're gonna have so much energy.
- 31:12Speaker 3: Yep.
- 31:13Speaker 1: I feel like sometimes you know, like you catch yourself
- 31:15Speaker 1: applying to comments and shit, You're like, what do you do?
- 31:17Speaker 3: I had to stop that shit. Yeah, I had to
- 31:19Speaker 3: stop that shit.
- 31:19Speaker 4: Like I used to really be on that, you know
- 31:21Speaker 4: what I mean, And I was like, oh, this is
- 31:23Speaker 4: what he was talking about, you know what. He's just like, man, fuck,
- 31:25Speaker 4: what the fuck what they talking about. Just for peace
- 31:28Speaker 4: of mind, let me just just keep moving and just
- 31:30Speaker 4: focus on the positivity. I don't know why our brains
- 31:32Speaker 4: are wired like that. We see that one comment with
- 31:34Speaker 4: zero in on the motherfucker real quick, but there's something
- 31:39Speaker 4: I do respect about him, you know what I mean.
- 31:41Speaker 4: I'm like, there's a lot of shit that motherfuckers are
- 31:42Speaker 4: saying that they probably have no idea what they're talking
- 31:45Speaker 4: about about you, and you just like, man, fuck them.
- 31:48Speaker 1: Hey, we gotta wrap up this interview. Another one presented
- 31:50Speaker 1: by hard Dann. Baby, you already know what it is.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Shout out to Hardin for presenting another episode of the
- 31:56Speaker 1: Bootleg podcast. Don't forget when you're in Vegas, you're getting
- 31:59Speaker 1: that taxi, getting that uber. Say take me to Hardeen,
- 32:01Speaker 1: the number one cannabis dispensary in the world. Premium selection
- 32:05Speaker 1: of the craziest gas you could ever ask for, and
- 32:08Speaker 1: then they break down all what all the terps mean.
- 32:10Speaker 1: It's incredible. Go to Harden Underscore Las Vegas, shoot them
- 32:13Speaker 1: a follow, and when you're in Las Vegas and make
- 32:15Speaker 1: sure you shoot them a visit. I want to give
- 32:16Speaker 1: a shout out to our family at Roken man. Broken, Uh, listen,
- 32:21Speaker 1: I love these vapes Broken Cannabis. Make sure you go
- 32:25Speaker 1: shoot them a follow. I was in Austin, Texas, and
- 32:29Speaker 1: you know I was off the Broken in Texas, even
- 32:32Speaker 1: though I'm not sure legally I was supposed to be
- 32:33Speaker 1: off the Broken in Texas. But look, you gotta go
- 32:35Speaker 1: follow them right now. Go to Brokencannabis dot com. Shoot
- 32:38Speaker 1: them a follow on social media. You'll see it down below.
- 32:41Speaker 1: They got the solventless rosin pure. It will melt you
- 32:45Speaker 1: in a good way, by the way, all right, so
- 32:47Speaker 1: make sure you go shoot them a follow. Man. And
- 32:49Speaker 1: you know we only rock with the premium the best,
- 32:52Speaker 1: and when I tell you, Broken is the best. They've
- 32:55Speaker 1: been doing this for so long, and h man, the
- 32:58Speaker 1: rosin the solving, the rising man, it hits all right.
- 33:01Speaker 1: So they got the disposables, They got the carts. Let's
- 33:06Speaker 1: just open one of these up just so you can see.
- 33:07Speaker 1: These carts are beautiful, all right, we got it open
- 33:12Speaker 1: he fast forwarded, all right, So this the cart and
- 33:15Speaker 1: then obviously you got your disposable right here. Both of
- 33:18Speaker 1: these incredible. Follow them and check them out rocancannabis dot
- 33:22Speaker 1: com because it's crazy because I can only assume like
- 33:24Speaker 1: when you get sign a Strange, you kind of inherit
- 33:27Speaker 1: a fan base that is like super loyal. Yeah, like
- 33:31Speaker 1: what was that? Like, what did you just like when
- 33:34Speaker 1: that became an official thing? Did you just see like
- 33:36Speaker 1: the flip switch and like you just like you you're
- 33:39Speaker 1: like opened up to this world of loyal motherfuckers who
- 33:42Speaker 1: will buy the shirt come out.
- 33:44Speaker 3: Yeah. The dope.
- 33:45Speaker 4: The dope thing about it is is that when I
- 33:47Speaker 4: was running around with Twisted Insane, Twisted Insane was already
- 33:49Speaker 4: getting that type of embrace.
- 33:51Speaker 2: Because he was on Worldwide Choppers, right, yes.
- 33:53Speaker 4: Yeah, yep, he was already getting that type of embrace
- 33:55Speaker 4: from his fan base, which is the brain YACs.
- 33:57Speaker 3: You know. So when we would do shows, there was
- 34:00Speaker 3: hell of.
- 34:00Speaker 4: Technicians and brainiacs in the crowd, and everybody thought that.
- 34:04Speaker 4: And Sam was getting ready to go to Strange. You
- 34:06Speaker 4: know what I'm saying, They just they just they really
- 34:07Speaker 4: wanted that. So I was like, this is dope, man,
- 34:10Speaker 4: you know what I mean, Like these motherfuckers buying CDs
- 34:12Speaker 4: and shirts and they're like they're really really diehard supporters.
- 34:16Speaker 4: But getting on that Tech nine stage was different because
- 34:20Speaker 4: it's like we're not doing two three hundred motherfuckers, you
- 34:24Speaker 4: know what I mean, at the most anymore. Like the
- 34:28Speaker 4: first I think the first couple of shows I did
- 34:30Speaker 4: with Tech on that tour, the Planet Tour, we went
- 34:32Speaker 4: on like five thousand motherfuckers in the crowd, and I
- 34:35Speaker 4: was like, oh shit, So there's so many people that
- 34:37Speaker 4: don't know who I am, you know what I mean.
- 34:40Speaker 4: Some people are just they're they're specifically for Tech. Don't
- 34:43Speaker 4: even fuck about the openers, right, So and essentially it's
- 34:46Speaker 4: like you got to really get up there and do
- 34:48Speaker 4: that shit and convert them to be like, oh, this
- 34:50Speaker 4: motherfucker's dope. Tech can't just say so, you know what
- 34:53Speaker 4: I mean. I feel like that, like Tech can say so,
- 34:55Speaker 4: but it's like when it comes when it comes to
- 34:57Speaker 4: them shows, Tech is.
- 35:00Speaker 1: He's just like he's like I personally thinking hip hop,
- 35:03Speaker 1: He's the best.
- 35:04Speaker 4: Yeah, Like like there's nobody doing that ship like him.
- 35:07Speaker 4: So it's like, all right, you want to you want
- 35:10Speaker 4: to come over here and get and get what I'm
- 35:11Speaker 4: getting down with, you better bring it, you know, no
- 35:15Speaker 4: rapping over your vocals and ship like that.
- 35:17Speaker 3: And you know what I'm saying.
- 35:17Speaker 1: I think it was super cemented to me too the
- 35:20Speaker 1: first tour that he went out without Chris and he
- 35:25Speaker 1: came out as like the clown, the gangster.
- 35:26Speaker 3: I remember that and the screens.
- 35:29Speaker 1: To me, that was the most impressive tech tour because
- 35:32Speaker 1: I was like, this might be the best tech show
- 35:34Speaker 1: I've ever seen. And he's like because you know, there
- 35:36Speaker 1: was something about seeing like him cut out Whoun and
- 35:39Speaker 1: Chris Calico the Unholy Trinity and they're dancing and all
- 35:42Speaker 1: that ship where you would be like, oh, this ship
- 35:44Speaker 1: is crazy, like nobody's doing this ship. Yeah, But then
- 35:47Speaker 1: to see him just do it alone and still like
- 35:50Speaker 1: carry the show. I'm like, this ship is crazy.
- 35:52Speaker 4: Yeah man, yeah, so yeah getting out there doing that
- 35:55Speaker 4: and then the ISO chance man like like when you
- 36:00Speaker 4: got six to ten thousand people chatting I saw back
- 36:03Speaker 4: to back, I'm like, I appreciate every last one of
- 36:07Speaker 4: the motherfuckers that have ever did that because what it
- 36:09Speaker 4: did was it show tech and it show trapped. They're like, yo,
- 36:12Speaker 4: like we might have something here, you know what I mean?
- 36:15Speaker 4: And I felt like that was their way of saying
- 36:17Speaker 4: like we see you, we accept you, you know what
- 36:20Speaker 4: I mean?
- 36:21Speaker 1: What about uh how because obviously you end up on
- 36:23Speaker 1: you produced Red Kingdom, which is uh, I mean now
- 36:27Speaker 1: like kind of the unofficial official fucking Chiefs anthem.
- 36:30Speaker 3: Yep, yep.
- 36:31Speaker 1: That's got to be pretty crazy. Yeah, man, yeah, I
- 36:34Speaker 1: mean they are in the super Bowl every year. It
- 36:35Speaker 1: feels like that was a dope thing and crazy. Crazily enough,
- 36:39Speaker 1: that was my first ever NFL game I ever went to,
- 36:41Speaker 1: was the super Bowl.
- 36:42Speaker 3: Because of that. Shit, that's your first game, first game
- 36:45Speaker 3: I ever went to. It was the super Bowl.
- 36:47Speaker 2: Put you went to a lot of college games, I'm assuming.
- 36:49Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, but to go to that, you know what
- 36:52Speaker 4: I mean? Like because of Red and Red Kingdom. It
- 36:55Speaker 4: was just something on the fly. Tech called me and
- 36:57Speaker 4: was like he's like, man, I need a beat man.
- 36:59Speaker 4: It was like, I don't got nothing. It was like
- 37:01Speaker 4: I need to beat I'm trying to do something for
- 37:02Speaker 4: the chief He just made it sound so nonchalant, like
- 37:05Speaker 4: I just do a quick little thing for the Chiefs.
- 37:07Speaker 4: And I was like, give me like fifteen minutes, let
- 37:09Speaker 4: me go through my I was like I think I
- 37:12Speaker 4: got one. That that fixed.
- 37:13Speaker 3: That sent it to him and I became Red Kingdom.
- 37:16Speaker 4: Jesus all the ship with uh Trump posting this ship
- 37:21Speaker 4: and the White House. You know what I'm saying, Uh,
- 37:24Speaker 4: playing this shit on the CNN was playing the ship
- 37:27Speaker 4: doing his impeachment or whatever the fuck. I was like,
- 37:30Speaker 4: everything that's happening with this song is like just making
- 37:33Speaker 4: his motherfucker goe. Yeah, I'm like, shit, going to your
- 37:36Speaker 4: public facts, I'm like, shit, I don't give a fuck
- 37:39Speaker 4: play that ship, you know what I mean? But it
- 37:41Speaker 4: just it just turned into something that I had no.
- 37:44Speaker 4: I had no idea that it was gonna I think, uh,
- 37:47Speaker 4: I think Uh. Caitlin, who works at the label, she
- 37:50Speaker 4: told me I think it went platinum.
- 37:52Speaker 2: I think so.
- 37:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:53Speaker 1: I think it's up there for sure. I think is
- 37:55Speaker 1: it bigger than Face Off?
- 37:57Speaker 4: I think they're like this, Yeah, so I'll be the first.
- 38:00Speaker 4: I'll be the first person at Strange Music that ever
- 38:02Speaker 4: had a production that went platinum.
- 38:04Speaker 2: Man, I mean probably yeah. And you already got two golds.
- 38:08Speaker 1: That's crazy that it's crazy.
- 38:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 38:10Speaker 2: Yeah, where do you put the plaques at the house facts?
- 38:13Speaker 3: I need to find out. I'm gonna make knock some
- 38:15Speaker 3: ship off the wall.
- 38:16Speaker 2: Makes me room.
- 38:16Speaker 1: You know, it's a big deal, man.
- 38:18Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a beautiful.
- 38:19Speaker 2: Thing for you.
- 38:20Speaker 1: Is there because you obviously have worked with a lot
- 38:22Speaker 1: of dope artists. Is there who's kind of like your
- 38:25Speaker 1: bucket list feature that you still want to want to
- 38:27Speaker 1: work with it? It's kind of like obviously everyone's gonna
- 38:29Speaker 1: say jay Z, you know whoever, but like, you know,
- 38:33Speaker 1: a realistic feature that you would like to make happen.
- 38:36Speaker 4: There's a few, man, there's a few. I'm a big
- 38:39Speaker 4: I'm a big little Wayne Man.
- 38:41Speaker 2: Wheezy be crazy.
- 38:42Speaker 1: I would love the Yoda songs going nuts. She's got
- 38:44Speaker 1: a relationship with Strange already.
- 38:46Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I really want to do something with
- 38:50Speaker 4: Wayne Eminem for sure. You know that's definitely up there.
- 38:56Speaker 4: Shout out five nine is crazy. He's like, yeah, yeah,
- 39:01Speaker 4: there's there's there's a few. There's a few that I
- 39:03Speaker 4: really really want to work with, you know what I mean,
- 39:06Speaker 4: just from that golden era even like and this is
- 39:09Speaker 4: something that probably is a curve ball for a lot
- 39:11Speaker 4: of people, But.
- 39:12Speaker 3: I really fun with your mortal technique.
- 39:13Speaker 1: I love mortal tech like that like mals dance, I mean,
- 39:17Speaker 1: mortal technique. I learned so much about you know, the
- 39:22Speaker 1: fucking CIA and come on all kind of crazy.
- 39:24Speaker 4: Come on emtial technique. He I was like, I was
- 39:30Speaker 4: listening to that ship and uh in high.
- 39:32Speaker 1: School and I'm like, oh yeah, ye, Mortal Tech look
- 39:35Speaker 1: the same same here in high school. And I remember
- 39:37Speaker 1: seeing that motherfucker live and it was like, this is
- 39:39Speaker 1: fucking crazy. Yeah, Mortal Tech. I got to interview him recently,
- 39:42Speaker 1: and like a couple of years ago, he's solid as
- 39:45Speaker 1: fuck too.
- 39:46Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeah, he's got He's an intense guy man.
- 39:49Speaker 4: Very very very smart guy man, very very knowledgeable, and
- 39:53Speaker 4: just just just overall dope individual.
- 39:55Speaker 1: For anybody who's watching this who has kind of grown
- 39:59Speaker 1: up with trauma and can't seem to get themselves out
- 40:02Speaker 1: of that rut that you were in, what was what
- 40:05Speaker 1: is advice you could give somebody?
- 40:07Speaker 3: Man, I feel like it gets greater later.
- 40:11Speaker 4: I feel like everything that happens to you is definitely
- 40:14Speaker 4: temporary if you take your time and work through it.
- 40:17Speaker 4: I feel like none of us are ever going to
- 40:19Speaker 4: have what is considered the perfect life. We all have
- 40:22Speaker 4: had our own battles, and we all still have our
- 40:25Speaker 4: battles no.
- 40:25Speaker 3: Matter how good life gets or wherever we're at.
- 40:28Speaker 4: Just take it day by day and you just continuing
- 40:31Speaker 4: to keep going is a motivation for a lot of
- 40:34Speaker 4: people that don't, that don't have the strength to get
- 40:36Speaker 4: out of bed today. You know what I mean, Like,
- 40:39Speaker 4: we go on the road and we do these meet
- 40:40Speaker 4: and greets, and people tell me I saved their lives
- 40:42Speaker 4: just from speaking out my personal experiences and beliefs.
- 40:46Speaker 3: You know what I mean.
- 40:47Speaker 4: To motivate somebody just from working through whatever struggle you're doing,
- 40:51Speaker 4: it can it can move mountains.
- 40:53Speaker 1: I think like you, I think you said earlier, like
- 40:54Speaker 1: accountabilities like the number one thing.
- 40:56Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, yep, I had to say. You know, you
- 40:59Speaker 4: know our real role. I play my own suffering. Let
- 41:02Speaker 4: me get myself together, let me do the self work,
- 41:04Speaker 4: let me realize where I went wrong and how I
- 41:06Speaker 4: could respond to this or separate myself from these particular energies,
- 41:10Speaker 4: And life started to work in my favor after that,
- 41:13Speaker 4: you know what I mean. Like, I feel like life
- 41:15Speaker 4: is definitely cycle based. Obviously, the world spins and spins,
- 41:19Speaker 4: you know what I mean. So I'm like, I can
- 41:21Speaker 4: recognize when certain things are happening in certain type of situations,
- 41:25Speaker 4: even just mentally.
- 41:25Speaker 3: You know what I mean. For sure, I'm like, you
- 41:28Speaker 3: know it'll get greater.
- 41:29Speaker 4: Letter, just just take your time and work through it,
