- 1:08SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:09SPEAKER_09: Oh, oh wait.

- 1:18SPEAKER_09: No, we we we uh love to have you actually.
- 1:22SPEAKER_09: Uh so um yeah, so I took a trip.
- 1:30SPEAKER_09: Somebody just uh somebody died.
- 1:31SPEAKER_09: Yeah, somebody just took a trip upstairs.
- 1:33SPEAKER_09: I'm not sure what that was.
- 1:34SPEAKER_12: I almost couldn't get into your house because there was a there was a duffel bag in the door, and I was like, Is somebody standing behind the door?
- 1:40SPEAKER_09: Somebody's shoving it in there.
- 1:42SPEAKER_09: I have teenagers.
- 1:42SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:43SPEAKER_09: I'm not surprised there's duffel bags and shoes and everything everywhere.
- 1:47SPEAKER_09: Um so yeah, so we played well let's let's actually let's recap the week last week.
- 1:54SPEAKER_09: So Trauma Tour.
- 1:56SPEAKER_09: Yeah, trauma bond tour.
- 1:57SPEAKER_09: That's trauma bond tour.
- 2:06SPEAKER_09: Um with the car show and everything.
- 2:09SPEAKER_09: That was pretty cool.
- 2:10SPEAKER_09: I did not feel well.
- 2:11SPEAKER_09: I I noticed that.
- 2:13SPEAKER_12: I was not feeling well that day.
- 2:14SPEAKER_12: Yeah, just sick.
- 2:17SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 2:18SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 2:18SPEAKER_09: But we played okay.
- 2:20SPEAKER_12: Yeah, I mean we sounded okay.
- 2:22SPEAKER_09: We'd soldiered on.
- 2:23SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 2:24SPEAKER_09: Uh we got some great compliments from the uh the president of the car association or whatever.
- 2:31SPEAKER_12: Yeah, whatever national classic car.
- 2:33SPEAKER_12: Yeah, something like that.
- 2:34SPEAKER_09: So they're talking about having a a bigger event up here next in the next two years, I think.
- 2:39SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 2:39SPEAKER_09: Um, and having us be a part of it.
- 2:41SPEAKER_09: So that was nice.
- 2:42SPEAKER_09: That's good all good stuff.
- 2:44SPEAKER_09: Anything else weird happened Thursday or anything else?
- 2:47SPEAKER_09: Uh no, it's pretty standard.
- 2:49SPEAKER_12: I w I had a I I remember I pointed out to you the the lady in the uh was department was dancing in the window.
- 2:55SPEAKER_12: I don't know if she realized we noticed her or not.
- 2:57SPEAKER_12: I thought it was pretty funny.
- 2:59SPEAKER_09: Um and then Friday we traveled up to the Acadian Festival in Manawasca.
- 3:04SPEAKER_12: Yes.
- 3:05SPEAKER_09: And had a fantastic show.
- 3:06SPEAKER_09: That was a fun show.
- 3:07SPEAKER_09: It was always a fun show.
- 3:08SPEAKER_09: It's always fun.
- 3:09SPEAKER_09: Yeah, they they love to dance and it shows and oh so so we should say that Anthony was with us on Thursday, but was not with us on Friday and Saturday.
- 3:18SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 3:18SPEAKER_09: His voice was not there.
- 3:20SPEAKER_09: He'd been sick, so so we covered the lead vocals on both Friday and Saturday, and I think we we we have okay.
- 3:27SPEAKER_09: Thank you for Melissa and you actually.
- 3:28SPEAKER_09: You and Melissa uh carried the weight on on those those gigs.
- 3:32SPEAKER_09: Well, mostly Melissa.
- 3:33SPEAKER_09: Um the lion's share of it.
- 3:36SPEAKER_09: She did, and she she killed it she killed it.
- 3:38SPEAKER_09: Yep.
- 3:39SPEAKER_09: Um and then Saturday.
- 3:41SPEAKER_09: What did you think about playing on Main Street?
- 3:44SPEAKER_12: Uh it wasn't bad.
- 3:46SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 3:46SPEAKER_12: I I prefer the the behind the school.
- 3:49SPEAKER_12: As do I.
- 3:50SPEAKER_12: But it wasn't it wasn't as bad as I I you know, I was expecting worse.
- 3:54SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 3:55SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 3:55SPEAKER_09: I just thought it was just an okay gig.
- 3:57SPEAKER_12: Yeah, I I think we were just so exhausted by it.
- 4:00SPEAKER_12: We were we were burnt.
- 4:01SPEAKER_09: Three nights in a row.
- 4:02SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 4:02SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 4:02SPEAKER_12: So we were just burnt out.
- 4:04SPEAKER_09: Um and then um I'm just trying to think if there's anything else on Saturday that uh that we should talk about.
- 4:11SPEAKER_09: No, no, I don't think so.
- 4:12SPEAKER_09: It was just a gig.
- 4:13SPEAKER_09: It was a good gig.
- 4:14SPEAKER_09: It was a good gig.
- 4:15SPEAKER_09: Um we have one gig left, September 6th, uh in Easton.
- 4:20SPEAKER_09: I think it's the sixth, yeah.
- 4:20SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I think so.
- 4:22SPEAKER_09: Um Tinker.
- 4:23SPEAKER_09: So I got up early, early, early Sunday morning and drove down to um New Hampshire.
- 4:28SPEAKER_12: New Hampshire.
- 4:29SPEAKER_09: New Hampshire.
- 4:30SPEAKER_09: Uh but on my way, I was gonna meet up with my sister, but she had to cancel on me because it was well, it was actually my fault.
- 4:37SPEAKER_09: She she lives well, she stays at her camp, which is about an hour, 45 minutes away from the interstate near Fairfield uh Augusta Scout Waterville area.
- 4:53SPEAKER_09: And she said, she had sent me a text, she said, send me a text when you're in Bangor.
- 4:57SPEAKER_09: That way I know how long I have before I have to go and meet you.
- 5:02SPEAKER_09: I forgot to send her a text.
- 5:04SPEAKER_09: She texted me as I'm driving and and I'm because I completely forgot about you know sending her a text.
- 5:10SPEAKER_09: And uh she says, Did you leave as early as you wanted to?
- 5:13SPEAKER_09: I said, I left earlier, I'm in Newport.
- 5:17SPEAKER_09: And she goes, Oh well, I probably won't come and see you then because you're too close.
- 5:22SPEAKER_09: Uh because it would take her 45 minutes to get there.
- 5:26SPEAKER_09: Sure.
- 5:27SPEAKER_09: And she doesn't want to make me wait.
- 5:28SPEAKER_09: So she said, That's okay though, you can just keep going.
- 5:30SPEAKER_09: And I said, Alright, well maybe we'll stop by on the way back.
- 5:34SPEAKER_09: So I had a little bit of time, so I stopped in Waterville and went to Bull Moose.
- 5:40SPEAKER_09: Of course I did.
- 5:41SPEAKER_12: Of course you did.
- 5:41SPEAKER_12: Of course I did.
- 5:42SPEAKER_12: Did you go to Bull Moose in Bangor too?
- 5:44SPEAKER_12: No.
- 5:44SPEAKER_09: Oh, I just no, just cruising on through.
- 5:47SPEAKER_09: So I picked up some CDs.
- 5:49SPEAKER_09: Um none that you probably would know, um, but but they are ones that I really enjoy.
- 5:56SPEAKER_09: This is another Loud and Wayne Wright the third.
- 5:59SPEAKER_09: Oh, yeah, yep.
- 6:00SPEAKER_09: Uh the Wayland Jennies in concert.
- 6:03SPEAKER_09: I also got a kind of a compilation of Bruce Coburn.
- 6:07SPEAKER_09: And what was the the other one I got?
- 6:09SPEAKER_09: Oh, I got one called uh from a guy named Don White, which was which was uh he's a comedian sort of singer-songwriter.
- 6:16SPEAKER_09: Okay, so it was pretty good.
- 6:17SPEAKER_09: Cool.
- 6:18SPEAKER_09: But more importantly, you saw the picture I sent you.
- 6:21SPEAKER_12: Yeah, of our of our uh our little our our album title.
- 6:26SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 6:26SPEAKER_09: So Bull Moose, you know, they have these placeholders uh where the band's CDs are, you know, and actually if I I can I can tell you the band's right near ours, they still have our little placard.
- 6:41SPEAKER_12: Which is funny because the one in Bangor doesn't.
- 6:44SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 6:45SPEAKER_09: Well, I think they they either ran out of CDs or they pulled them or something.
- 6:49SPEAKER_09: I don't know.
- 6:50SPEAKER_09: So this is in a local section.
- 6:53SPEAKER_09: Oh, you know, I didn't even notice that.
- 6:56SPEAKER_09: Um so I'm looking at the artists that are right next to ours.
- 7:02SPEAKER_09: Colwell Brothers, I don't know them.
- 7:04SPEAKER_09: But you know, our sleeve Common Crossing is peeking out right there.
- 7:08SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 7:09SPEAKER_09: Next to ours, or a couple down, the John Clavet band.
- 7:14SPEAKER_09: John Clovett's from Matawasca.
- 7:17SPEAKER_12: I know I thought I'd recognize that name.
- 7:19SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 7:19SPEAKER_12: Yeah, I don't think I've ever heard that.
- 7:21SPEAKER_09: I I didn't even uh I didn't even see that when I took the picture, so that's kind of cool.
- 7:25SPEAKER_09: But yeah, Bull Moose in Waterville still has the placard for our uh for our album uh from Comic Crossing, seeing the light of day.
- 7:34SPEAKER_09: So I thought that was kind of cool.
- 7:35SPEAKER_09: That is cool.
- 7:36SPEAKER_09: I still I still have a ton of CDs.
- 7:38SPEAKER_09: Do you?
- 7:39SPEAKER_09: I I don't.
- 7:39SPEAKER_09: I have a ton of them.
- 7:41SPEAKER_09: I have a couple, I think, two or three here.
- 7:44SPEAKER_09: Um and so then I kept going and I think I made it to um Concord, New Hampshire by two o'clock.
- 7:54SPEAKER_09: I think that's I think that's what it was.
- 7:56SPEAKER_09: And I met with my son and his wife, and we drove around and killed time, we went to eat, and then we went to the concert.
- 8:04SPEAKER_09: And the concert was the uh Coral Reefer Band, Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefer Band opened, and they were great.
- 8:14SPEAKER_09: Um our seats were for a little far back, so my our energy level was a little low.
- 8:18SPEAKER_09: Oh sure.
- 8:19SPEAKER_09: Um we couldn't really stand up and I mean we could, but most of the people around us were not standing up.
- 8:25SPEAKER_09: And I will say a couple of things.
- 8:27SPEAKER_09: Uh number one, I've never seen so many Hawaiian shirts in my life.
- 8:32SPEAKER_12: Except Hawaii.
- 8:33SPEAKER_09: Number two, I've never been to Hawaii.
- 8:35SPEAKER_09: I know.
- 8:35SPEAKER_09: Just saying.
- 8:36SPEAKER_09: Number two, I've never seen so many rich old people with so much plastic surgery.
- 8:48SPEAKER_09: I'm not kidding.
- 8:49SPEAKER_09: I believe it.
- 8:50SPEAKER_09: Uh, and and fake tans or or just really bad.
- 8:54SPEAKER_12: Well, you understand that's the Boston crowd.
- 8:56SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 8:56SPEAKER_09: Well, I mean, and and that that region around uh was it Lake uh Winnipeg.
- 9:04SPEAKER_12: Is it Winnipazaki?
- 9:04SPEAKER_09: I have no idea.
- 9:05SPEAKER_09: That's the only one that came to mind.
- 9:07SPEAKER_09: It was right in around there.
- 9:08SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 9:08SPEAKER_09: Uh and all just kind of affluent.
- 9:12SPEAKER_09: Oh people, yeah, yeah.
- 9:13SPEAKER_09: That's part of all the rich people.
- 9:15SPEAKER_09: And and and and drunk.
- 9:17SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 9:18SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 9:18SPEAKER_09: Uh and so it was, it was and then I I'm looking at it.
- 9:22SPEAKER_09: The elite of New England, basically.
- 9:24SPEAKER_09: I'm almost the same age as these people, which was kind of like crazy to me.
- 9:30SPEAKER_09: But um the Coral Reefer band was great.
- 9:34SPEAKER_09: Um, not too loud.
- 9:35SPEAKER_09: The sound was was perfect.
- 9:37SPEAKER_09: So what the Coral Reefer band is, it's Jimmy Buffett's band with Mac McInally, uh Scotty McCre uh, Scotty um Emmerich, uh Will Kimbrough.
- 9:48SPEAKER_09: These are all Nashville songwriters, like big, big hitmakers.
- 9:52SPEAKER_09: And they used to tour with Jimmy Buffett.
- 9:54SPEAKER_09: And uh Nadina Shakur, also one of his background singers, these this was Jimmy Buffett's band.
- 10:00SPEAKER_09: And they incorporated video of Jimmy Buffett on the screen behind and everything.
- 10:05SPEAKER_09: And Mac McInally and Scottie Emmerich sound just like Jimmy Buffett.
- 10:11SPEAKER_09: So it's like you were at a Jimmy Buffett concert without Jimmy Buffett.
- 10:14SPEAKER_09: It was amazing.
- 10:15SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 10:15SPEAKER_09: Um, so it was good, and then they took about a half hour break, and um I I will say that my daughter-in-law, she about two songs, two or three songs in, it was too loud.
- 10:28SPEAKER_09: So she she left.
- 10:30SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 10:30SPEAKER_09: And she went and kind of sat outside the venue.
- 10:32SPEAKER_09: And um when the when the Doobie Brothers came on, um you asked me when you first came, was it a good concert?
- 10:41SPEAKER_09: I said it was okay.
- 10:42SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 10:43SPEAKER_09: I well actually I think the word I said was underwent.
- 10:47SPEAKER_09: Which surprised me.
- 10:48SPEAKER_09: It surprised me too.
- 10:50SPEAKER_09: Um the sound was not as good as the Coral Reefer band.
- 10:55SPEAKER_09: Really?
- 10:56SPEAKER_09: And I and I don't know why.
- 10:58SPEAKER_09: Their performance w was fine, uh, except that of course I play guitar, right?
- 11:04SPEAKER_09: So they had three guitarists, and the each of the guitars there was like no low end.
- 11:16SPEAKER_09: It was all tinny, and when they went to do a s a guitar solo, it was ear splittingly loud.
- 11:26SPEAKER_09: You know, like when they're when they're up in the higher end and it's it's piercing anyway.
- 11:30SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 11:30SPEAKER_09: I mean, I love guitar solos.
- 11:33SPEAKER_09: I'm plugging my ears, dude.
- 11:35SPEAKER_09: I mean it's it was really loud.
- 11:37SPEAKER_09: And Michael McDonald, when he would hit the high parts of his organ, like just like a like a slide, like we ear piercingly loud.
- 11:48SPEAKER_09: Really?
- 11:49SPEAKER_09: And Michael McDonald Well, they sang, so they opened up with uh Take Me in Your Arms, Rock Me a Little While, you know, song everybody knows that they they covered they covered.
- 12:00SPEAKER_09: And then they did another, I think they did a Depending on You.
- 12:04SPEAKER_09: And then they did um a song from the new album.
- 12:08SPEAKER_09: And then they did I can't remember what came next.
- 12:13SPEAKER_09: Um but then they did they so they did two more songs, and then they did another song from the new album.
- 12:19SPEAKER_09: And then they did another song, and then they did another song from the new album.
- 12:24SPEAKER_09: Um and then uh and and and I could tell my son was was torn between going and being with his wife and hanging out with his dad.
- 12:31SPEAKER_09: Sure.
- 12:33SPEAKER_09: And so Michael McDonald seemed like he was yelling every song.
- 12:40SPEAKER_09: Um it sounded like Michael McDonald, I mean, but it but it was like the sound was just wrong for some reason.
- 12:48SPEAKER_09: To me.
- 12:48SPEAKER_09: And maybe everybody else, you know, thought it was perfect, but where I was sitting, the sound was off and it was hurting my ears.
- 12:56SPEAKER_09: Maybe I'm just old, I don't know.
- 12:58SPEAKER_09: But I could tell he was he was not having a good time.
- 13:03SPEAKER_09: Um so I said, I'll tell you what, I said, You go be with your wife.
- 13:06SPEAKER_09: I said, I'm gonna listen to one more song and then we'll leave.
- 13:09SPEAKER_09: And he's like, Okay, okay.
- 13:12SPEAKER_09: So he left, and then they did minute by minute, and I got up and I walked out, and we went looking for our car and we took off.
- 13:20SPEAKER_09: So I watched about a half hour, maybe a little bit more than a half hour of that show.
- 13:25SPEAKER_09: They had about eleven more songs left to go, I think.
- 13:28SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 13:28SPEAKER_09: Because I looked at that there's a thing called setlist.com, I think is what it is where you can click on an artist, and if they post it, uh and they did a couple nights before they were in Mansfield, Massachusetts, and I'm looking at the set, and it's the same songs that they played that night.
- 13:46SPEAKER_09: So I counted, I'm like, oh, they got and they do like four or five on Encores or songs on the Encore.
- 13:52SPEAKER_09: They had about eleven songs left.
- 13:54SPEAKER_09: So I said, hey, my ears can't take it.
- 13:58SPEAKER_09: And uh I was just underwhelmed, and which is sad to say because I love Michael McDonald.
- 14:06SPEAKER_09: Yeah, and I love the Doobie Brothers.
- 14:07SPEAKER_09: Yeah, but there was just something something not right about it, and I'm not sure I'm not sure what it was.
- 14:14SPEAKER_09: So I didn't I didn't stick to it.
- 14:16SPEAKER_12: Well, if you're not enjoying it sonically, you're not gonna enjoy the show.
- 14:18SPEAKER_12: Yeah, you know what I mean?
- 14:20SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 14:20SPEAKER_09: So I had no problem taking off.
- 14:22SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 14:23SPEAKER_09: And uh it it allowed us to get to our camp in Shapley by eleven anyway, because if we had stayed for the whole thing, it'd be after midnight.
- 14:31SPEAKER_12: Oh, sure.
- 14:31SPEAKER_09: When we got there.
- 14:32SPEAKER_12: So it was plus you'd be stuck in traffic and right, yeah.
- 14:35SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 14:35SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 14:36SPEAKER_09: And so so uh and we got up at uh six o'clock this morning to to hit the road, so it gave us a little bit more time to sleep.
- 14:45SPEAKER_09: Yeah, you know.
- 14:46SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 14:46SPEAKER_09: But it was I really was going down to hang out with my kid anyway.
- 14:50SPEAKER_09: Oh yeah.
- 14:50SPEAKER_09: You know, and and we picked up and uh Olivia was uh at the camp when we got there.
- 14:55SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 14:56SPEAKER_09: So Olivia rode up with me this morning, and uh Jude and Kristen came up, you know, their own t at their own time.
- 15:04SPEAKER_09: Um But yeah, and I think I'm not sure, you may we may get a visitor tonight.
- 15:09SPEAKER_09: She might pop down.
- 15:10SPEAKER_09: Cool.
- 15:10SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 15:11SPEAKER_12: She is she's staying here or she's staying here.
- 15:13SPEAKER_12: She's staying here.
- 15:13SPEAKER_12: She's staying around.
- 15:14SPEAKER_09: Uh Jude and Kristen are staying at uh the in-laws.
- 15:17SPEAKER_09: Oh yeah.
- 15:17SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah.
- 15:18SPEAKER_09: So yeah, it was, I mean, it was a good trip.
- 15:21SPEAKER_09: It was a long trip, but it was good.
- 15:24SPEAKER_09: Um I got to listen to a lot of podcasts, including ours.
- 15:28SPEAKER_09: Um and we do have one.
- 15:30SPEAKER_09: We do, we do.
- 15:31SPEAKER_09: And my my daughter, you know, we had talked about this at the end of the podcast last week.
- 15:36SPEAKER_09: Um she would like to uh help us.
- 15:43SPEAKER_12: Well, I mean she's a professional.
- 15:46SPEAKER_09: She thinks uh how did she put this?
- 15:52SPEAKER_09: Because she's around podcasts of different types all the time.
- 15:56SPEAKER_09: And she thinks we could be huge.
- 16:00SPEAKER_12: I think she's biased.
- 16:02SPEAKER_09: I told her we already are huge.
- 16:05SPEAKER_12: Size wise.
- 16:07SPEAKER_09: But no t-shirt wise.
- 16:09SPEAKER_09: She's she thinks that and she and and she said she offered she she said, Are you videoing it again?
- 16:15SPEAKER_09: And I said, Well that was the intention, but it's just uh such an undertaking, you know, to do that and then edit it, and especially when I, you know, I have school and stuff like that.
- 16:26SPEAKER_09: And so she said, Well, uh you could send it to me and I can put together a promo or something, or or I could edit the podcast and put it on YouTube.
- 16:36SPEAKER_09: And I was like, okay, well that also seems like a big thing.
- 16:41SPEAKER_09: Well, no, you just use we transfer or Dropbox or something.
- 16:45SPEAKER_09: I was like, okay, well.
- 16:47SPEAKER_09: But she thinks marketing us the right way we could be big.
- 16:54SPEAKER_12: Yeah, because right now our marketing is um zero.
- 16:58SPEAKER_12: Non-existent, non zulchy.
- 17:01SPEAKER_09: Well, like uh one of her coworkers started a podcast uh and it's about movies, and they've only done two episodes, and the first episode has five hundred uh views on YouTube.
- 17:16SPEAKER_09: Uh they've already got a hundred uh subscribers or something like that.
- 17:21SPEAKER_09: I'm like, I think that's more than us.
- 17:23SPEAKER_09: Yeah, already.
- 17:24SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 17:24SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 17:24SPEAKER_09: And they're only on two episodes, so uh it's all how you market it.
- 17:28SPEAKER_09: So I don't know.
- 17:29SPEAKER_09: Maybe we'll maybe I'll take her up on it.
- 17:31SPEAKER_09: Maybe we'll we'll figure something out.
- 17:32SPEAKER_12: Well, I mean it can't hurt.
- 17:34SPEAKER_09: It can hurt, you know.
- 17:35SPEAKER_09: And we uh she thinks actually and her coworker love this podcast because, like we said, it's just us sitting on a couch talking and it's real, and you know, so it's definitely not scripted.
- 17:48SPEAKER_09: It's no, it's not scripted.
- 17:49SPEAKER_09: So I mean, I don't know.
- 17:50SPEAKER_09: Maybe I'll take her up on it.
- 17:51SPEAKER_09: I'll have a have some conversation.
- 17:52SPEAKER_12: Well, I mean, she has the time.
- 17:54SPEAKER_12: I mean, I don't want to put her out for her regular.
- 17:56SPEAKER_09: I don't know that she has it.
- 17:57SPEAKER_09: I mean, she she thinks that she has the time and um she enjoys it.
- 18:01SPEAKER_09: You know, she enjoys it.
- 18:02SPEAKER_12: Well, she's good at it.
- 18:03SPEAKER_12: Yeah, yeah.
- 18:04SPEAKER_12: I mean, she's been doing it since she was what?
- 18:06SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 18:06SPEAKER_12: Twelve?
- 18:07SPEAKER_09: I don't know.
- 18:07SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 18:08SPEAKER_12: You know, she was making movie movies, she was making movies with the boys.
- 18:11SPEAKER_12: Yeah, technically.
- 18:12SPEAKER_12: So, yeah.
- 18:13SPEAKER_09: So, I don't know.
- 18:15SPEAKER_09: We we're not filming today, but maybe we'll maybe we'll start.
- 18:18SPEAKER_12: I don't even see a cam well, there's a camera.
- 18:20SPEAKER_09: There's one right there and one over there, one back there.
- 18:22SPEAKER_12: Well, there's a holder for one there.
- 18:26SPEAKER_09: I think there.
- 18:28SPEAKER_09: Oh, it is Pollow wires.
- 18:32SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah.
- 18:33SPEAKER_09: So we'll maybe we'll do that.
- 18:34SPEAKER_09: Because we did make some pretty funny stuff.
- 18:37SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 18:37SPEAKER_09: With the videos and stuff.
- 18:38SPEAKER_12: I mean it was it was fun.
- 18:40SPEAKER_12: I mean, you know, we you know, we we're we're kind of entertaining.
- 18:43SPEAKER_12: Kinda.
- 18:43SPEAKER_12: You know.
- 18:44SPEAKER_09: Kinda.
- 18:44SPEAKER_12: Mostly to ourselves.
- 18:46SPEAKER_09: Exactly.
- 18:46SPEAKER_09: But you know.
- 18:46SPEAKER_09: But that's all that that's that's all that matters.
- 18:49SPEAKER_12: That we're entertaining ourselves.
- 18:50SPEAKER_12: Yeah, yeah.
- 18:51SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 18:51SPEAKER_12: Oh, yeah, I agree.
- 18:52SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 18:52SPEAKER_12: I mean, if we I figure if we're entertaining ourselves, somebody else is gonna be like, hey, those guys are pretty funny, even though I don't know who they are and they're kind of lame.
- 19:00SPEAKER_12: But you know.
- 19:02SPEAKER_12: Maybe a little maybe a little funny looking.
- 19:07SPEAKER_09: Um so yeah, all in all, all in all, a good trip.
- 19:11SPEAKER_09: Uh I'm I'm pretty uh pretty tired.
- 19:15SPEAKER_09: I'm pretty tired.
- 19:16SPEAKER_12: I'm pretty tired now.
- 19:17SPEAKER_12: I think I'll go home.
- 19:18SPEAKER_09: I think that's what I was looking for.
- 19:21SPEAKER_09: And what we're gonna have to find some drops from Forrest Cup now.
- 19:23SPEAKER_09: Yep to put on the phone.
- 19:24SPEAKER_12: There we go.
- 19:25SPEAKER_12: There we got our drops already.
- 19:26SPEAKER_12: Uh I just I'm still I'm still wiped out from the weekend, so I'm just still.
- 19:30SPEAKER_12: It was a lot.
- 19:31SPEAKER_12: It was a lot.
- 19:32SPEAKER_12: I mean, it it's one thing, you know, when you're performing, which is fine.
- 19:37SPEAKER_09: All the time, all the time.
- 19:38SPEAKER_12: You know?
- 19:38SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 19:39SPEAKER_12: But when you're getting there, setting everything up, sound checking, performing, tearing down, and then going home.
- 19:46SPEAKER_09: Yes.
- 19:46SPEAKER_12: It's a long three days in a row.
- 19:48SPEAKER_12: Three days in a row.
- 19:48SPEAKER_12: It's a long and one was, you know, two hours away.
- 19:52SPEAKER_09: And we don't do it all the time.
- 19:53SPEAKER_09: Exactly.
- 19:54SPEAKER_09: That's the thing.
- 19:54SPEAKER_09: We're not in you know, we're not um in the shape uh that a band should be in in that, you know.
- 20:02SPEAKER_12: I mean, if we were playing like three, four times, five times a week, yeah, we'd be in way better shape.
- 20:07SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 20:07SPEAKER_12: But we're we're you know, we all have other stuff.
- 20:10SPEAKER_12: Lives.
- 20:11SPEAKER_12: Yeah, exactly.
- 20:12SPEAKER_12: I mean, you know, I mean if we could play music for a living, then we would, but we don't, so here we are.
- 20:19SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 20:19SPEAKER_09: So you're still recovering.
- 20:21SPEAKER_09: You get what you get.
- 20:21SPEAKER_09: You're still recovering, is what you're saying.
- 20:23SPEAKER_12: Oh yeah, my my elbow is killing me, my left hip kills me.
- 20:28SPEAKER_09: How's your hand?
- 20:29SPEAKER_12: Hand's okay.
- 20:30SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 20:30SPEAKER_12: Yeah, the pain is transferred.
- 20:34SPEAKER_12: So it's it's traveled through my body and settled in another part now.
- 20:38SPEAKER_12: Because now my hip hurts for some reason.
- 20:40SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 20:40SPEAKER_12: Don't know.
- 20:41SPEAKER_09: I think that's pain roulette.
- 20:42SPEAKER_09: I think that's the essence of aging is you just get pain that pops up here and there.
- 20:48SPEAKER_09: You're just like, oh, and it's there for a little while and then I guess that's gonna hurt today.
- 20:52SPEAKER_12: All right.
- 20:52SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 20:53SPEAKER_12: Woo, yay me.
- 20:54SPEAKER_12: So I love it.
- 20:56SPEAKER_09: I love getting old.
- 20:58SPEAKER_09: Uh and speaking of gigs, we uh we have one this third uh Friday, this Friday at the Crown of Main Balloon Festival, Skinny Elvis, our 90s rock band.
- 21:07SPEAKER_09: We'll see how that goes over.
- 21:09SPEAKER_12: It should be interesting.
- 21:09SPEAKER_12: Should be fun.
- 21:10SPEAKER_12: I mean we'll well at least people won't think it's a syndicate this time.
- 21:12SPEAKER_12: I hope so.
- 21:13SPEAKER_09: I hope not, anyway.
- 21:14SPEAKER_09: Yeah, exactly.
- 21:14SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I hope not.
- 21:15SPEAKER_12: Hope they're just going, what's who's skinny Elvis?
- 21:17SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 21:18SPEAKER_09: Who's Skinny Elvis?
- 21:19SPEAKER_09: I and I did hear someone oh interesting.
- 21:23SPEAKER_09: So um you know that my son um is possibly going to be working uh next year up here.
- 21:33SPEAKER_09: Did I tell you this?
- 21:34SPEAKER_12: Um you have to be more specific about which son.
- 21:37SPEAKER_09: Uh the lawyer.
- 21:38SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 21:39SPEAKER_09: Um anyway, uh, so he's been talking to uh some people up here.
- 21:45SPEAKER_09: And so we were in the village at Meadowbrook down in Guildford, and the people one of the people that he's been talking to was there at the concert.
- 21:55SPEAKER_09: From up here?
- 21:56SPEAKER_09: From up here.
- 21:56SPEAKER_09: Oh.
- 21:56SPEAKER_09: And so we're like, we shake hands, hey hey, good to see you, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 22:00SPEAKER_09: Um and you know, we'll s we'll see uh we'll see a you know it'll be a good show, blah blah blah.
- 22:05SPEAKER_09: And then that was it.
- 22:06SPEAKER_09: Small talk and then they they made their way.
- 22:08SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 22:09SPEAKER_09: And then we started to go find our seats.
- 22:13SPEAKER_09: What are the odds that we're sitting right next to them?
- 22:17SPEAKER_09: Ah.
- 22:18SPEAKER_09: Right next to them the entire show.
- 22:21SPEAKER_12: Apparently your ticket block was in the Arusta County block.
- 22:24SPEAKER_12: Apparently.
- 22:25SPEAKER_12: Oh, they're from Arusta County, okay, give them these seats.
- 22:27SPEAKER_09: Right, but in the back.
- 22:27SPEAKER_09: But Jude bought those tickets when he was in New Hampshire.
- 22:30SPEAKER_09: Doesn't matter.
- 22:31SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 22:32SPEAKER_12: Doesn't matter.
- 22:32SPEAKER_12: They know.
- 22:35SPEAKER_09: Um anyway, uh we and then the this person that uh he's been talking to is also in a band.
- 22:42SPEAKER_09: So we d at the at the break between uh uh the Coral Reefer band and Doobie Brothers, we start talking about amps and guitars and stuff like that.
- 22:51SPEAKER_09: It was great.
- 22:52SPEAKER_09: Um and then so yeah, so this Friday we're at the Crown of Main Balloon Festival as Skinny Elvis.
- 22:59SPEAKER_09: Um and I heard uh through the grapevine that the mystery gig that we have in October um in at the Cross Center in Bangor, they're building us a Star City Syndicate.
- 23:13SPEAKER_12: Oh yeah, I saw that thread.
- 23:14SPEAKER_09: Yeah, so I hope that's not true.
- 23:17SPEAKER_09: Uh because they know it's not the Star City Syndicate, and I hope they're not Well, we didn't actually give them a name either, so they were probably just throwing it in there.
- 23:26SPEAKER_09: If they're saying members of the Star City Syndicate, I can understand that.
- 23:29SPEAKER_12: That I could see, yeah.
- 23:30SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 23:30SPEAKER_09: So I just want to clarify, you know, because I don't want people to expect to see the Star City Sy syndicate and then us show up without the horns.
- 23:38SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 23:38SPEAKER_09: You know, because that's kind of misleading.
- 23:40SPEAKER_12: But then again, they don't really know us down there.
- 23:41SPEAKER_09: I know, but I mean if if that's the if that's what they get, like if we go down and play as a Star City Syndicate without the horns, what if they p don't like it?
- 23:54SPEAKER_09: Right and and and oh the Star City Syndicate, yeah, I saw them in Bangor and they weren't that good.
- 23:59SPEAKER_09: They didn't have horns.
- 24:00SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 24:00SPEAKER_09: You know what I mean?
- 24:01SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 24:02SPEAKER_09: So I uh Star City Syndicate is a is a package, you know, with the horn section.
- 24:06SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 24:06SPEAKER_09: And I don't want it misrepres represented, you know.
- 24:09SPEAKER_12: Yeah, and that's why they should have given another name instead of Yes, exactly.
- 24:14SPEAKER_09: So we'll see.
- 24:15SPEAKER_09: You know, uh we're we're kind of looking into it and and hopefully uh what this person said was not accurate.
- 24:20SPEAKER_09: And they're not calling us Star City Syndicate.
- 24:23SPEAKER_09: Well, which is, you know, it I guess it's in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't really matter.
- 24:26SPEAKER_12: Nah, still the syndicate, it's just not the syndicate.
- 24:29SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 24:29SPEAKER_12: If that's that's what we'll bill ourselves, not the syndicate, not the syndicate.
- 24:33SPEAKER_12: And let us all be gone.
- 24:34SPEAKER_09: If that's if that makes any sense.
- 24:36SPEAKER_09: Um so yeah, there's that.
- 24:39SPEAKER_09: Uh so Megadeth is calling it quits.
- 24:43SPEAKER_12: Not surprised.
- 24:44SPEAKER_09: He didn't look well.
- 24:46SPEAKER_09: I saw him in an interview.
- 24:47SPEAKER_09: He never looks good.
- 24:48SPEAKER_09: I saw him in an interview.
- 24:50SPEAKER_09: Um I almost want to think it was the Sean Ryan show.
- 24:55SPEAKER_12: Could be, yeah.
- 24:56SPEAKER_09: Um there.
- 24:57SPEAKER_09: Yeah, and he didn't look well.
- 25:00SPEAKER_12: I think he's been he's had a battle he's had a couple of battles with cancer.
- 25:04SPEAKER_09: I knew that.
- 25:05SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 25:05SPEAKER_09: Um, and how he how old is he?
- 25:08SPEAKER_09: He's in his late 60s.
- 25:09SPEAKER_12: Oh, he's gotta be late sixties.
- 25:11SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 25:11SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 25:12SPEAKER_09: Um we're talking about Dave Mustaine, of course, from Megadeth.
- 25:15SPEAKER_09: But it was it you so you're not surprised at all?
- 25:18SPEAKER_09: No.
- 25:19SPEAKER_09: Um, here's the announcement.
- 25:21SPEAKER_09: Let me see if I can get this going here.
- 25:26SPEAKER_13: Some say this is the end of times.
- 25:31SPEAKER_09: Have you seen this?
- 25:32SPEAKER_09: No.
- 25:33SPEAKER_10: Get out of the cities.
- 25:34SPEAKER_10: It's over.
- 25:36SPEAKER_10: This will be our last broadcast.
- 25:41SPEAKER_00: This is Vic Rattlehead.
- 25:43SPEAKER_00: For over four decades, I've been chained in silence.
- 25:47SPEAKER_00: But the end demands my voice.
- 25:50SPEAKER_00: It is confirmed the next Megadeth studio album will be the last.
- 25:56SPEAKER_00: Forty years of metal, forged in steel, ending in fire.
- 26:01SPEAKER_00: And when the new year rises, the global farewell tour.
- 26:06SPEAKER_00: You've heard the warning.
- 26:07SPEAKER_00: Now prepare yourself, Cyber Army.
- 26:10SPEAKER_00: Stay loud, stay tuned, and meet me on the front lines.
- 26:20SPEAKER_09: That's the first time I they've ever given him a voice.
- 26:23SPEAKER_09: Really?
- 26:23SPEAKER_09: That I know of.
- 26:28SPEAKER_09: That's their mascot.
- 26:29SPEAKER_09: Their mascot.
- 26:29SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 26:30SPEAKER_09: Kind of like Iron Maiden has Eddie.
- 26:32SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 26:32SPEAKER_09: They have what's his name?
- 26:33SPEAKER_12: Do you know?
- 26:33SPEAKER_12: Vic uh Rattlehead, I think he said.
- 26:36SPEAKER_12: Vic Ratt.
- 26:37SPEAKER_12: I think that's his name.
- 26:38SPEAKER_12: I know it's Vic.
- 26:38SPEAKER_09: You're right, you're right.
- 26:39SPEAKER_09: It is.
- 26:39SPEAKER_09: Yeah, long time mascot, Vic Rattlehead.
- 26:41SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 26:42SPEAKER_12: And uh He's been on every cover of every Megadeth, almost every Megadeth album.
- 26:46SPEAKER_09: So if they come through this area, which I don't know if they will, would you go?
- 26:50SPEAKER_12: I heck yeah, I'd go.
- 26:52SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 26:52SPEAKER_12: Yeah, I'd love to see Megadeth.
- 26:53SPEAKER_09: I wonder who they're gonna take with them.
- 26:55SPEAKER_09: It'd be their final tour, right?
- 26:57SPEAKER_09: So I wonder who they take out with them.
- 26:59SPEAKER_12: Maybe Slayer.
- 27:05SPEAKER_12: Stryper.
- 27:05SPEAKER_12: Yeah, takes her too.
- 27:06SPEAKER_12: Do you remember we had that?
- 27:07SPEAKER_12: Dude, that would be still.
- 27:08SPEAKER_12: I'd I I would love to see one of them go out with Stryper.
- 27:13SPEAKER_12: Right.
- 27:13SPEAKER_12: That would be awesome.
- 27:15SPEAKER_12: The Heaven and Hell tour.
- 27:16SPEAKER_09: Heaven and Hell.
- 27:17SPEAKER_09: You know what I mean?
- 27:17SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 27:18SPEAKER_09: So um so yeah, I he's never really said, you know, why they're ending.
- 27:24SPEAKER_12: Um just I honestly I don't think he's well.
- 27:26SPEAKER_12: I honestly don't think he's well.
- 27:28SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I uh he didn't look well.
- 27:30SPEAKER_12: No.
- 27:30SPEAKER_12: Um I mean he never looked great to start with, but he's he's I mean, he's done a lot.
- 27:35SPEAKER_12: I mean, he's got like a black belt in Taekwondo or something.
- 27:37SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 27:38SPEAKER_12: You know, he's an average skydiver.
- 27:40SPEAKER_12: Well, have you noticed all this other stuff?
- 27:42SPEAKER_12: But I know he I know he went through about with cancer.
- 27:46SPEAKER_12: I can't remember what kind.
- 27:48SPEAKER_09: You notice when he walks around, his neck doesn't move.
- 27:52SPEAKER_12: Well, he had a th what happened?
- 27:55SPEAKER_12: It this happened probably twenty years ago or so.
- 27:59SPEAKER_09: So he doesn't skydive and stuff like that now.
- 28:01SPEAKER_09: I don't think so.
- 28:02SPEAKER_12: Okay, but he what hap he slept wrong or something like that, and like almost severed a nerve and he couldn't play guitar for a long, long time.
- 28:13SPEAKER_12: Really?
- 28:13SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 28:14SPEAKER_12: He slept weird or he fell asleep or passed out or something.
- 28:17SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 28:18SPEAKER_12: And it did something to a nerve in his arm the way the way he slept, and it almost like destroyed his career right there.
- 28:25SPEAKER_09: Really?
- 28:25SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 28:26SPEAKER_09: No, I I never heard that.
- 28:27SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 28:28SPEAKER_12: He'd had to go through like months and months of therapy, and yeah, it was crazy.
- 28:32SPEAKER_12: Yeah, yeah, he's not he's not in great shape.
- 28:34SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 28:35SPEAKER_12: So well he's had a he's had a rough go of it.
- 28:38SPEAKER_09: You know, maybe maybe the um plus the bass player, uh, what's his face?
- 28:43SPEAKER_12: Uh Ellison.
- 28:44SPEAKER_12: Ellison, yeah.
- 28:45SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 28:46SPEAKER_12: He got in trouble there and he's out of the band and I mean he was he's been with Dave since the beginning.
- 28:52SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 28:52SPEAKER_12: So I yeah, I can you know and and they always they're always changing drummers and guitar.
- 28:58SPEAKER_12: They're like the spinal tap of heavy metal.
- 29:00SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 29:00SPEAKER_12: They're always changing people.
- 29:02SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 29:02SPEAKER_09: So And m maybe after seeing Ozzy's farewell, it looked like something that he could try and do.
- 29:10SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 29:11SPEAKER_12: Why why not go out while you still can?
- 29:13SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 29:13SPEAKER_12: You know, while you're still able to say, I'm done.
- 29:16SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 29:17SPEAKER_12: You know, I can do a tour and that'll be that.
- 29:20SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 29:20SPEAKER_12: You know, and may you know, I don't want to, you know, I don't want to say he's gonna die, you know, like two weeks after the end of it, but you know, just say, you know, just go it on your own terms.
- 29:29SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 29:30SPEAKER_12: You know, he I mean, he's still I mean, this may be the final world tour, but it doesn't say he can't do a show here and there.
- 29:36SPEAKER_09: Exactly.
- 29:36SPEAKER_09: That's what a lot of people are doing, actually.
- 29:37SPEAKER_12: Yeah, they just do one-offs, yeah.
- 29:39SPEAKER_12: Or like a festival or something like that, you know?
- 29:41SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 29:42SPEAKER_09: So that's sad news, but also I guess kind of good news for Megadeth.
- 29:49SPEAKER_09: I mean, there's a new album coming.
- 29:51SPEAKER_12: Yeah, I I can't wait to hear it.
- 29:52SPEAKER_12: And there's I'd like to hear this.
- 29:54SPEAKER_09: And they're going out on tour uh for the for the final time.
- 29:56SPEAKER_09: Why not?
- 29:57SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 29:58SPEAKER_09: That's that's pretty cool.
- 29:59SPEAKER_09: Um, the other thing I have for you is uh releases we're expecting in September.
- 30:04SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 30:04SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 30:05SPEAKER_09: Let's see.
- 30:06SPEAKER_09: And we're only doing uh new new things, not necessarily re-releases, reissues, or if there's a live one, we may do a live one.
- 30:14SPEAKER_09: So let's see.
- 30:15SPEAKER_09: I have I don't know uh if David Byrne's Who is the Sky is new or not uh from Talking Heads.

- 34:31SPEAKER_12: Yeah, if it's just Mike Tramp, who care who cares?
- 34:34SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 34:34SPEAKER_09: Mike Tramp, you know, he's put out a couple solo albums.
- 34:37SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 34:37SPEAKER_09: Okay, that's cool.
- 34:38SPEAKER_12: Whatever.
- 34:39SPEAKER_12: But if you're gonna be like Mike Tramp puts out Songs of White Lion without Vito Brata and the other guys, right.
- 34:45SPEAKER_12: I don't care.
- 34:45SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 34:46SPEAKER_09: So um Buckingham Knicks.
- 34:49SPEAKER_09: Really?
- 34:50SPEAKER_09: Yeah, they were teasing this a little bit, actually.
- 34:52SPEAKER_09: Lindsay Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, um, the album that they put out before they joined Fleetwood Mac.
- 34:57SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 34:58SPEAKER_09: Uh actually, it's a uh reissue, so it's remastered and reissued.
- 35:02SPEAKER_09: And this is what one of the songs sounds like.
- 35:04SPEAKER_09: This is Crying in the Night.
- 35:06SPEAKER_12: Oh, I know this song.
- 35:10SPEAKER_12: They featured this on that uh Sound City documentary.
- 35:14SPEAKER_12: Did they?
- 35:14SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 35:15unknown: She was there gone.
- 35:18SPEAKER_12: Oh yeah, because they they recorded this album at Sound City.
- 35:23SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 35:25SPEAKER_12: That's how that's how Mick Fleetwood met them was being because they were recording at Sound City also.
- 35:31SPEAKER_12: Right.
- 35:31SPEAKER_12: He was like, who's playing and singing down here?
- 35:33SPEAKER_12: And if he wouldn't found them, then that's how they joined Fleetwood Mac.
- 35:45SPEAKER_09: And now with most of Fleetwood Mac kind of Mick Fleetwood is you know, n I guess I don't know if he's interested in r in getting Fleetwood back back together, but um Christy McVee's passed on.
- 36:05SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 36:06SPEAKER_09: Um maybe they're gonna try and I mean they hate each other right now, I think.
- 36:12SPEAKER_09: I thought they did anyway.
- 36:13SPEAKER_12: That I but you know, it's one of those things that really when there's that much tension in a band and they create like awesome music still, yeah.
- 36:24SPEAKER_12: You gotta be like, is there something to it?
- 36:26SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 36:27SPEAKER_12: You know what I mean?
- 36:28SPEAKER_12: Like Dawkins.
- 36:29SPEAKER_12: You know, you know, Don Dawkins and George Lynch absolutely hated each other.
- 36:33SPEAKER_12: But yeah, they made all this awesome music.
- 36:36SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 36:36SPEAKER_12: You know?
- 36:37SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 36:38SPEAKER_09: I mean, i I mean Well, they didn't hate each other when they made this album.
- 36:42SPEAKER_09: Who Lindsay and Lindsay and Steve.
- 36:44SPEAKER_12: Oh no, no, no, no.
- 36:44SPEAKER_12: They were dating, I think, at the time.
- 36:46SPEAKER_09: They were, yeah.
- 36:47SPEAKER_09: Yeah, and they were dating when they when they first joined Fleetwood Mac.
- 36:49SPEAKER_12: Yeah, it was after that.
- 36:50SPEAKER_09: It was after that that but but I mean to this I think today.
- 36:53SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I still don't think they like each other.
- 36:55SPEAKER_09: They don't like each other very much.
- 36:56SPEAKER_09: Or or Fleetwood Mac would have gotten back together.
- 36:58SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 36:59SPEAKER_09: With Lindsay.
- 36:59SPEAKER_12: I mean, didn't they get back there like in the nineties?
- 37:02SPEAKER_09: They did, yeah.
- 37:03SPEAKER_09: And and actually even after that, but it was there was a falling out probably I don't know, five, ten years ago.
- 37:08SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 37:09SPEAKER_09: And uh they fired Lindsay.
- 37:11SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 37:12SPEAKER_12: And uh Yeah, but he's he's kind of an odd duck.
- 37:15SPEAKER_09: He is an odd duck.
- 37:15SPEAKER_09: So uh Nine Inch Nails, they did the soundtrack to Tron, the neutron movie.
- 37:20SPEAKER_12: There's a new Tron movie?
- 37:21SPEAKER_09: There is a neutron movie.
- 37:22SPEAKER_09: I saw I saw the previews for it um when I went to see Freakier Friday.
- 37:27SPEAKER_12: Is it now is it like a different Tron movie or is it still the remake from the 80s?
- 37:32SPEAKER_09: No, it's different.
- 37:33SPEAKER_09: It's it's actually I almost think it's the way the the trailer made it out to be um because I saw the original in the theater.
- 37:41SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 37:42SPEAKER_12: And I I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I saw it with Cousin Larry.
- 37:48SPEAKER_12: Okay when we when you know we were because I'm pretty sure we were in Waterville staying with cousin Larry and his family.
- 37:56SPEAKER_12: Oh no, no, it wasn't Tron, it was uh E.T.
- 38:00SPEAKER_09: Oh jeez, I saw E.T.
- 38:01SPEAKER_09: in the theater probably five times.
- 38:03SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 38:04SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 38:04SPEAKER_09: I'm gonna show this to you.
- 38:06SPEAKER_09: I think this is because wasn't Tron a video game or something?
- 38:12SPEAKER_12: Dude, I I saw that movie and I didn't understand at all.
- 38:16SPEAKER_12: And I still don't, and I've never seen it since.
- 38:18SPEAKER_12: Right.
- 38:19SPEAKER_12: I've never gone back and re-watched it.
- 38:21SPEAKER_09: And even the remake.
- 38:22SPEAKER_12: Even the remake.
- 38:23SPEAKER_12: I just because I I didn't like the original, why would I go see the remake?
- 38:26SPEAKER_09: This is it it it looks like because in the original, I think it was all in one world.
- 38:33SPEAKER_12: Yeah, it's like a digital something.
- 38:36SPEAKER_09: Yeah, something this seems like it's melding the digital world with the real world.
- 38:43SPEAKER_09: I don't know.
- 38:44SPEAKER_09: You tell me.
- 38:44SPEAKER_09: I'll just I'll just play it real quick.
- 38:46SPEAKER_07: Since time began.
- 38:48SPEAKER_09: See, that's a city right there.
- 38:50unknown: Right?
- 38:51SPEAKER_07: Man has gazed at the stars.
- 38:52SPEAKER_07: Sure.
- 38:52SPEAKER_07: He has wondered.
- 38:54SPEAKER_12: Yeah, there's like SWAT team there.
- 38:56SPEAKER_12: Right?
- 38:56SPEAKER_12: Am I alone?
- 38:58SPEAKER_12: I don't want to do Oh, it's Disney.
- 39:03SPEAKER_12: Oh, that's gonna be the problem.
- 39:04SPEAKER_07: Yeah, this is gonna be a virtual world's willing to look like when we get there.
- 39:13SPEAKER_07: Well folks, we're not going.
- 39:19SPEAKER_07: Today, coming here, I would like you to meet Ares, the ultimate soldier.
- 39:29SPEAKER_07: He's typically strong, lightning fast, supremely intelligent.
- 39:37SPEAKER_07: And if he is struck down on the battlefield, I will simply make you another.
- 39:49SPEAKER_09: See, this is not what the original freaking looks.
- 39:52SPEAKER_12: No, it doesn't look anything.
- 39:53SPEAKER_12: It's like the like frequency.
- 40:00SPEAKER_12: The woman I didn't really get a good look at.
- 40:13SPEAKER_09: Yes, yes, uh, uh lead up.
- 40:19SPEAKER_12: Yes, I'm just gonna do this.

- 41:27SPEAKER_01: You're not.
- 41:28SPEAKER_09: Oh shoot.
- 41:29SPEAKER_09: Almost.
- 41:30SPEAKER_09: Hold on, let me see if I can.
- 41:32SPEAKER_12: I I I don't recognize her.
- 41:34SPEAKER_12: I mean, she's probably really outside.

- 41:37SPEAKER_09: It's Scully.
- 41:39SPEAKER_12: That's not Scully, yes, it is.
- 41:41SPEAKER_09: Yeah.

- 42:00SPEAKER_12: British is like one of her parents is British.
- 42:04SPEAKER_12: I think.
- 42:05SPEAKER_01: What I mean?

- 42:14SPEAKER_09: Oh, this is fun.
- 42:15SPEAKER_09: How how is that doing that?
- 42:16SPEAKER_12: I do not understand.
- 42:17SPEAKER_12: I have no idea.
- 42:18SPEAKER_09: I don't either.
- 42:19SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 42:19SPEAKER_09: It's my computer.
- 42:20SPEAKER_09: It's weird.
- 42:21SPEAKER_12: It's so weird.
- 42:22SPEAKER_09: Um back to our list.

- 42:46SPEAKER_12: So, you know, anything's possible at this point.
- 42:49SPEAKER_09: So uh let's see.
- 42:51SPEAKER_09: On September 26th, Robert Plant has a new album coming out called Saving Grace.

- 46:30SPEAKER_09: I remember that.
- 46:32SPEAKER_12: Okay, this week was good.
- 46:34SPEAKER_12: I absolutely can see where O'Brien went with the vibe.
- 46:38SPEAKER_12: His song really did match the PBS vibe.
- 46:42SPEAKER_12: Very documentary sounding.
- 46:44SPEAKER_12: And Holiday Road from Cousin Larry was a funny match because they call trips Holidays in Europe.
- 46:50SPEAKER_12: And I can definitely see that song being a travel montage song for a trip across Europe.
- 46:55SPEAKER_12: But I had to go with whatever wherever I may roam.
- 46:58SPEAKER_12: I just really like the lyrics of that song.
- 47:00SPEAKER_12: Really beautiful song.
- 47:02SPEAKER_12: So I win.
- 47:03SPEAKER_09: Wherever I may roam is beautiful.
- 47:06SPEAKER_12: She likes, but she likes metal.
- 47:07SPEAKER_12: True.
- 47:08SPEAKER_12: Yeah, no, I get it.
- 47:09SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 47:10SPEAKER_12: I mean the lyrics are, you know, if you if you read just the lyrics, it's again it's an interesting uh.
- 47:14SPEAKER_12: Yeah, no, no.
- 47:15SPEAKER_09: Hetfield is a poet.
- 47:16SPEAKER_09: He is, really.
- 47:16SPEAKER_12: I mean, if you if you think about it.
- 47:18SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 47:18SPEAKER_09: So um that's two in a row for you, isn't it?
- 47:21SPEAKER_09: Two or three in a row.
- 47:22SPEAKER_12: Yeah, it was it's two in a row.
- 47:23SPEAKER_12: But cousin Larry went on like a three or four week streak.
- 47:26SPEAKER_12: So, yeah.
- 47:27SPEAKER_12: So we're all due.
- 47:29SPEAKER_09: Alright, so what is this week?

- 47:36SPEAKER_12: I can't find it.
- 47:39SPEAKER_12: Find it.
- 47:44SPEAKER_12: Oh yeah.
- 47:45SPEAKER_12: The first song you remember memorizing by heart.
- 47:50SPEAKER_09: Oh, yeah, that's right.
- 47:51SPEAKER_09: Alright.
- 47:52SPEAKER_09: Uh, what did Larry say?
- 47:53SPEAKER_12: Well, let's see.
- 47:54SPEAKER_12: What did Cousin Larry say?
- 47:56SPEAKER_09: I don't know, that's what I asked.
- 47:58SPEAKER_12: Okay.
- 48:00SPEAKER_12: Uh mixtape.
- 48:01SPEAKER_12: Well, the first song I probably truly learned the lyrics to is the ABC song.
- 48:08SPEAKER_12: Pinwheel.
- 48:10SPEAKER_12: Uh however, I don't think that is probably in the spirit of the game.
- 48:14SPEAKER_12: I tried to think back to my childhood, and a lot of songs.
- 48:17SPEAKER_12: He is funny.
- 48:18SPEAKER_12: That's why we're related.
- 48:20SPEAKER_12: Uh a lot of songs come to mind.
- 48:21SPEAKER_12: You all know my dad was a big country music guy, and I heard songs like I walked along, Kiss an Angel, Good Morning, and tons of country classics while growing up.
- 48:30SPEAKER_12: But the first song I really remember singing along to was probably Kung Fu Fighting by Carl Douglas.
- 48:37SPEAKER_12: I was probably doing my best Kung Fu moves as I sang as well.
- 48:40SPEAKER_12: Honorable mention goes to The Night Chicago Died by Paper Lace.
- 48:45SPEAKER_12: I remember hanging out at my friend Richard's house eating raspberries and milk topped with sugar and listening to his mom's records.
- 49:19SPEAKER_09: Dude, this would be fun funny to do as a syndicate.
- 49:22SPEAKER_12: I know, right?
- 49:22SPEAKER_12: We could totally do this.
- 49:26SPEAKER_09: Also, while this is on, uh, Larry sent me a message.
- 49:31SPEAKER_09: I thought it was kind of kind of funny.
- 49:34SPEAKER_09: Um oh man, I need to get to the county and hang out with you and Chris.
- 49:40SPEAKER_09: Or you, Doug.
- 49:41SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 49:42SPEAKER_09: I love Strange Brew.
- 49:46SPEAKER_09: It's hilarious.
- 49:48SPEAKER_09: I said, uh, please do.
- 49:50SPEAKER_09: They'd be talking about us for ages.
- 49:53SPEAKER_09: And uh he says he was hoping to make it to the Foster Family Reunion this weekend, but cannot.
- 49:58SPEAKER_09: Hopefully, a trip in the fall maybe in the works.
- 50:00SPEAKER_09: I'd love to sit down with you guys.
- 50:02SPEAKER_09: I said, that'd be amazing.
- 50:04SPEAKER_09: That means you'd have to click we'd have to clean the fun dungeon.
- 50:06SPEAKER_09: Give me some warning, eh?
- 50:08SPEAKER_09: He says, haha, I do want to see the fun dungeon.
- 50:11SPEAKER_09: I'll hire a maid.
- 50:12SPEAKER_09: Although if I clean and find something good, can I keep it?
- 50:17SPEAKER_09: And I said, if you find anything, I haven't missed it, so sure.
- 50:21SPEAKER_06: Right.
- 50:22SPEAKER_09: And then he sends me a picture of his tape recorder.
- 50:26SPEAKER_12: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 50:27SPEAKER_12: That's the one like the one you you bought, yeah.
- 50:29SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 50:30SPEAKER_09: Um we we also on the trip we went looking because we had time to kill before the concert.
- 50:35SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 50:35SPEAKER_09: And we went to like Best Buy and got some weird looks.
- 50:38SPEAKER_09: Like, do you have an old-fashioned top loading tape recorder?
- 50:42SPEAKER_09: Huh?
- 50:44SPEAKER_12: You're talking to Gen Z people, man.
- 50:46SPEAKER_12: They're like, Well, what's a tape recorder?
- 50:48SPEAKER_12: Yeah, right.
- 50:48SPEAKER_12: You know?
- 50:49SPEAKER_09: So uh we didn't have any we went to a couple different courses and we didn't have any luck.
- 50:52SPEAKER_09: So of course not.
- 50:54SPEAKER_09: Uh what is yours?
- 50:55SPEAKER_12: My I had to really rack my brain.
- 50:59SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 50:59SPEAKER_12: But the first song I remember really remember learning and memorizing was Johnny Horton's Battle of Norms.
- 51:06SPEAKER_09: Oh wow.
- 51:06SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 51:07SPEAKER_09: That's old too.
- 51:08SPEAKER_12: It's all very old.
- 51:09SPEAKER_12: Well, my mom had it on eight track.
- 51:11SPEAKER_12: I used to play the crap out of it, you know?
- 51:14SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 51:14SPEAKER_09: Let's see.
- 51:23SPEAKER_12: I don't remember this part of it.
- 51:24SPEAKER_12: Hold on, is this it?
- 51:26SPEAKER_04: Along with Colonel Jackson down the mile.
- 51:28SPEAKER_12: Hold on.
- 51:33SPEAKER_04: In 1814, we took a little trip.
- 51:36SPEAKER_09: Do you memorize this whole thing?
- 51:37SPEAKER_09: I did.
- 51:38SPEAKER_04: We took a little bacon and we took a little bacon.
- 51:41SPEAKER_12: I liked it because it was a song and it was about you know history and war and everything else.
- 51:46SPEAKER_12: So of course it happened.
- 51:58SPEAKER_09: See, I I also racked my brain.
- 52:01SPEAKER_09: And I had a hard time with this one.
- 52:04SPEAKER_09: Because I listened to a lot of music.
- 52:06SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 52:08SPEAKER_09: I I didn't really consume anything.
- 52:16SPEAKER_09: As much at the time as I consumed this album, and uh I was actually quite proud of myself that I learned all the words to this one.
- 52:29SPEAKER_09: Ah yeah! Michael Jackson's thriller.
- 52:35SPEAKER_09: I thought it was so fast, you know?
- 52:38SPEAKER_09: And I actually spent time listening to and learning the words of this one.
- 53:18SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I've that thriller album.
- 53:19SPEAKER_09: That was the first album that my dad ever bought me.
- 53:23SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 53:23SPEAKER_09: Uh like full album.
- 53:25SPEAKER_09: Uh because, you know, I I bought um 45s and cassettes and stuff here and there.
- 53:31SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 53:32SPEAKER_09: But I had this, you know, you pull out Michael Jackson laying there with the tiger.
- 53:37SPEAKER_12: Tiger, yeah, in the white suit.
- 53:38SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 53:38SPEAKER_12: Oh yeah.
- 53:39SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah.
- 53:39SPEAKER_12: Angela and I sat in her room and played this album like over and over and over and over.
- 53:44SPEAKER_09: Oh yeah, so did we so did we.
- 53:45SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 53:46SPEAKER_09: So I just kind of this this album kind of overtook me for a long time there.
- 53:51SPEAKER_12: It took every everybody was listening to this album.
- 53:53SPEAKER_12: Are you kidding me, man?
- 53:54SPEAKER_09: And I I but I thought I was um I don't know if I thought I was ahead of everybody or or cooler because I didn't learn the songs that were on the radio, you know, like Beat It and Billy Jean.
- 54:05SPEAKER_09: I learned that one.
- 54:06SPEAKER_09: Nice Wanna Be Starting Something.
- 54:09SPEAKER_12: You wanted to be starting something, but you learned the songs.
- 54:12SPEAKER_12: There you go.
- 54:13SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 54:13SPEAKER_09: I see where you're going by this.
- 54:15SPEAKER_09: Um so Kung Fu Fighting by Carl Douglas is Larry's pick.
- 54:19SPEAKER_09: Yep.
- 54:20SPEAKER_09: And Battle of New Orleans from Johnny Horton is your pick.
- 54:23SPEAKER_09: Yes.
- 54:24SPEAKER_09: And I am Wanna Be Starting Something by Michael Jackson.
- 54:28SPEAKER_09: There we go.
- 54:29SPEAKER_09: That is this week's uh mixtape.

- 54:42SPEAKER_12: We're gonna get the three Maybe we should do that because it's kinda I wanna do this one just because it sounds stupid.
- 55:06SPEAKER_12: This is even stupider than the last one.
- 55:10SPEAKER_12: You wanna do this one?
- 55:11SPEAKER_12: I don't know.
- 55:12SPEAKER_12: We're gonna do this one just because it's so stupid.
- 55:14SPEAKER_12: I love it.
- 55:15SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 55:16SPEAKER_12: Riding a lion to work in slow motion.
- 55:20SPEAKER_09: Like what song is playing.
- 55:23SPEAKER_09: Riding a lion to work in slow motion, and what song is playing?
- 55:27SPEAKER_12: What song is it?
- 55:31SPEAKER_12: It's so stupid, I love it.
- 55:34SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 55:36SPEAKER_09: I think I know what cousin Larry's gonna say.
- 55:41SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 55:42SPEAKER_09: Um how can I So when we come in here next week, how can I say?
- 55:50SPEAKER_09: Should I tell you what I think Larry is gonna pick before you say it?
- 55:55SPEAKER_09: That's what I'll do.
- 55:55SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 55:56SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 55:57SPEAKER_09: That's what I'll do.
- 55:58SPEAKER_09: So so next week, before you give Larry's pick, I'm gonna tell you what I think Larry picked.
- 56:06SPEAKER_09: Because if he didn't pick it, then I'm gonna pick it.
- 56:08SPEAKER_12: Okay.
- 56:08SPEAKER_09: Alright.

- 57:48SPEAKER_09: Clump the clump.

- 57:53SPEAKER_09: Clump to tumulana! Climb the wall of tunes.
- 57:56SPEAKER_09: Let's start the music.
- 57:58SPEAKER_09: It's funny, we were uh we were we were driving up uh today and listening to the podcast, and she's like, my daughter, Olivia, she's like, This music that we play for the climbing of the wall of tunes.
- 58:12SPEAKER_09: She's like, I know that from somewhere.
- 58:13SPEAKER_09: What what what is it from?
- 58:15SPEAKER_09: And she's like, I can picture uh I can picture a guy like a mountain climber and and going up a hill, but then he falls off, and I said, It's the price is right.
- 58:28SPEAKER_09: You know, she's like, What is that what it is?
- 58:30SPEAKER_09: It's the game on the price is right.
- 58:32SPEAKER_09: We are also talking about uh Harry Chapin, because Harry Chapin was our uh wall of tune last week.
- 58:38SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 58:38SPEAKER_09: And I said, Have you ever heard Cats in the Cradle?
- 58:41SPEAKER_09: She's like, Cats in the Cradle in the Silver Spoon.
- 58:43SPEAKER_09: I said, Do you know what it's about?
- 58:45SPEAKER_09: She's like, No, but I do remember it.
- 58:47SPEAKER_09: And I was like, How do you remember it?
- 58:49SPEAKER_09: And she's like, I don't know, but I know the song.
- 58:52SPEAKER_09: And then we keep listening to the podcast, and then she goes, Oh, it's from Shrek.
- 58:58SPEAKER_09: She's like donkey.
- 58:59SPEAKER_09: When he finds out that he's gonna have a dad, he starts saying, and the catch in the cradle, and this.
- 59:04SPEAKER_09: I'm like, that's how you remember it?
- 59:06SPEAKER_09: I forgot about that.
- 59:08SPEAKER_09: Yeah, so anyway.
- 59:10SPEAKER_09: Um, so yeah, we started the music.
- 59:13SPEAKER_09: Okay, so uh you go ahead and read.
- 59:16SPEAKER_09: I'm gonna I'm gonna pick it up.
- 59:18SPEAKER_12: Go find something.
- 59:19SPEAKER_12: I'm gonna read from this one's from Abbey Road.
- 59:22SPEAKER_12: It's the end, the last song on Abbey Road.
- 59:27SPEAKER_12: Uh as the final proper track on the last album recorded by the Beatles, the end was to become the song which would sign off their studio career.
- 59:36SPEAKER_12: Paul saw the couplet, The Love You Take is Equal to the Love You Make, as a musical equivalent of the rhyming couplets that Shakespeare ended his plays with.
- 59:46SPEAKER_12: Sorry.
- 59:47SPEAKER_12: A signal that the events of the drama were now concluded.
- 59:51SPEAKER_12: It certainly provided a neat symmetry to their recording career, which started with the gawky pleadings of Love Sick Teenagers and Love Me Do, and matured to reveal enigmatic words of wisdom from the group who transformed popular music.
- 1:00:09SPEAKER_12: The end.
- 1:00:11SPEAKER_12: Literally, I think it's a lot of people.
- 1:01:05SPEAKER_11: Remember when you were with the Beatles?
- 1:01:14SPEAKER_11: I I I do.
- 1:01:15SPEAKER_11: Did did you mean that?
- 1:01:19SPEAKER_06: And in the end The Love You Take is equal to the There it is.
- 1:01:37SPEAKER_09: The end.
- 1:01:40SPEAKER_11: Remember when you were the Beatles?
- 1:01:43SPEAKER_11: And there was a song he's supposed to play back and says, Paul is dead.
- 1:01:48SPEAKER_11: That was a hoax, right?
- 1:01:53SPEAKER_09: Oh, Chris Hurrow.
- 1:01:55SPEAKER_11: I miss that guy.
- 1:01:57SPEAKER_09: Um Yeah.
- 1:01:59SPEAKER_09: There you go.
- 1:02:00SPEAKER_09: The the end.
- 1:02:01SPEAKER_09: The end of the Beatles uh song.
- 1:02:03SPEAKER_09: So it's uh time to climb the wall of the tombs.
- 1:02:05SPEAKER_09: I have an album.
- 1:02:07SPEAKER_09: Let the guessing begin.
- 1:02:11SPEAKER_12: Oh no.
- 1:02:12SPEAKER_09: Yes.
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_12: I do think we've done Joe Bonamasa.
- 1:03:11SPEAKER_09: Have we done we've done Joe before?
- 1:03:13SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 1:03:14SPEAKER_12: Yeah, we have.
- 1:03:14SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 1:03:15SPEAKER_09: We haven't done this one yet.
- 1:03:16SPEAKER_12: Okay.
- 1:03:16SPEAKER_12: Is it a new one?
- 1:03:17SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:03:18SPEAKER_09: Because I I bought it with you.
- 1:03:19SPEAKER_12: Ah, oh yeah, that's right.

- 1:04:38SPEAKER_09: This was not the first single.
- 1:04:40SPEAKER_09: The first single, I think, from the album was this one.
- 1:04:42SPEAKER_09: Trigger finger.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_09: One of my uh favorite drive by the exit sign.
- 1:06:23SPEAKER_14: When we were out to the morning light Not a care in the world in a state Wanna what the hell I'm happening to you and me I'm gonna have to find me another wee in the open now.
- 1:07:26SPEAKER_09: That's one of my favorite ones on the album.
- 1:07:28SPEAKER_09: Uh well I'll do one more.
- 1:07:29SPEAKER_09: Uh this is called Pains on Me.
- 1:07:56SPEAKER_14: The storm is about to rain.
- 1:08:00SPEAKER_09: A lot of people would say, oh Joe Bonamas' songs sound the same.
- 1:08:04SPEAKER_09: Well, yeah, he's got a sound.
- 1:08:06SPEAKER_09: Still good.
- 1:08:08SPEAKER_12: Yeah, I mean it's the blues, man.
- 1:08:10SPEAKER_12: Right.

- 1:08:13SPEAKER_09: He does it better than most.
- 1:08:14SPEAKER_12: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:08:25SPEAKER_14: I haven't had the blues disparating all the pains on me.
- 1:08:32SPEAKER_09: Yeah, it's a good album.
- 1:08:34SPEAKER_09: It's um one of his better ones.
