- 0:10Speaker 1: Welcome to the favorites presented by draft kings the crown
- 0:13Speaker 1: is yours we are an action network podcast i'm your
- 0:17Speaker 1: host brandon kravitz joined by the first lady kendra middleton
- 0:21Speaker 1: week four full breakdown preview our five official plays a
- 0:25Speaker 1: lot of bickering to come In our future, John Yastrzemski
- 0:28Speaker 1: joining us today as our special guest analyst. My card
- 0:32Speaker 1: is full. I'm way too confident in my personal slate
- 0:36Speaker 1: this week. What could go wrong? How you feeling, Middleton?
- 0:39Speaker 2: I'm feeling pretty okay. Better than I should, considering the
- 0:42Speaker 2: season that I have had so far.
- 0:44Speaker 1: It is amazing how, and then this could be the
- 0:48Speaker 1: factor of two halves of a whole idiot on this show,
- 0:50Speaker 1: is that how is it that we are showing up
- 0:52Speaker 1: in week four feeling confident? I don't get it. I
- 0:55Speaker 1: don't know if that speaks to positively to us or negatively. Well,
- 0:59Speaker 1: I guess we'll find out based on how week four goes.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Here we go.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Let's ride three and two last week in the contest.
- 1:06Speaker 1: So things are trending in the right direction. I am
- 1:08Speaker 1: in recovery mode over here after getting my vasectomy that
- 1:13Speaker 1: I was putting off for way too long.
- 1:15Speaker 2: And I'll ask you to save a sect of me.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Is there a better way to how are you supposed.
- 1:21Speaker 3: To say you say the sect to me? And I
- 1:22Speaker 3: just say that to me.
- 1:26Speaker 1: You say tomato. I say tomato. I will tell you
- 1:28Speaker 1: that for the fellas out there that are listening or
- 1:31Speaker 1: watching this that are wondering, what is that like? Not
- 1:35Speaker 1: as bad as you think. I wouldn't call it pleasant.
- 1:39Speaker 1: They will prescribe you a Valium to take before. Ask
- 1:43Speaker 1: for two. That would be my recommendation to you. Miraculously.
- 1:48Speaker 2: I won't get into what I want to say. Just
- 1:50Speaker 2: know that I have things that I want to say.
- 1:52Speaker 1: We know. We all know. Miraculously, Joey Porter Jr. is
- 1:56Speaker 1: all healed. Porter was sent from the Steelers to the Cowboys,
- 2:00Speaker 1: ending a lengthy and contentious holdout. And the Cowboys get
- 2:04Speaker 1: someone who can stop an opposing offense from perhaps driving
- 2:07Speaker 1: the length of the field in six seconds. So big
- 2:11Speaker 1: deal for Big D.
- 2:14Speaker 3: I think the media is going to make a bigger
- 2:17Speaker 3: deal out of it than they should just because of
- 2:19Speaker 3: the two franchises. But I don't think it really immediately
- 2:22Speaker 3: is going to do that much for the Cowboys. Do
- 2:24Speaker 3: I think that it makes them a little bit better
- 2:26Speaker 3: and gives them some depth?
- 2:27Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:28Speaker 2: But the division's not as good as people thought.
- 2:31Speaker 3: It's not really that big of a needle mover for me.
- 2:33Speaker 3: I think it's more so just the thing that I
- 2:36Speaker 3: find funny is his back is all of a sudden better.
- 2:38Speaker 1: It took no time at all. Found the, uh, maybe
- 2:42Speaker 1: they found Dr. Chow. It's funny how Dallas is becoming
- 2:45Speaker 1: the land of misfit Steeler toys as well. He's not
- 2:48Speaker 1: going to join George Pickens over there. And there is
- 2:50Speaker 1: reportedly a chance because of what Kendra mentioned with the
- 2:54Speaker 1: miracle back recovery, uh, that Joey Porter Jr. could be
- 2:57Speaker 1: out there against the Texans. Do the Cowboys and the
- 3:00Speaker 1: Texans make it into the contest? We will find out.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Still to come, a word from the doc, Dr. David Chow.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Five contest plays fought over tooth and nail and some
- 3:10Speaker 1: Evan Abrams trends along the way. But first, a check
- 3:13Speaker 1: in on the kingdom that brings us all the betting goodies, DraftKings.
- 3:17Speaker 5: Dr.
- 3:18Speaker 1: David Chow joins us from sixscore.com, our go-to source for
- 3:22Speaker 1: injury news, information, and pricing. Doc, I got a personal
- 3:26Speaker 1: question to start with before we get to the injuries.
- 3:28Speaker 1: So I just recently went under the knife and got
- 3:32Speaker 1: a vasectomy a couple of days ago. And I feel
- 3:36Speaker 1: like I'm recovering well, but I don't know if as
- 3:39Speaker 1: my medical, my go-to medical professional, you're basically my primary
- 3:43Speaker 1: doctor at this point. Do you have any advice on
- 3:47Speaker 1: On when I can kind of like get back to
- 3:49Speaker 1: normal activities, should I still be icing it a couple
- 3:54Speaker 1: of days in? I'm just, I'm a little confused. I'm
- 3:58Speaker 1: lost on some details.
- 4:00Speaker 5: There's a lot of ways that I could take this.
- 4:03Speaker 5: I'm buying some time to say A, no, B, no, C, no. Okay,
- 4:07Speaker 5: let's start with D, innocuous. You're a little bit mistimed,
- 4:11Speaker 5: my friend. You do realize the number one day to
- 4:15Speaker 5: get a vasectomy is right at March Madness with all
- 4:20Speaker 5: the games Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday. That literally is the
- 4:24Speaker 5: number one day to get a vasectomy. So you're a
- 4:28Speaker 5: little mistimed on your time.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Now, listen, I was trying to go just like we
- 4:32Speaker 1: do in the betting market, Doc. I'm trying to go
- 4:34Speaker 1: off the beaten path a little bit. That's such a
- 4:36Speaker 1: cliche day to do it. I... targeted the start of
- 4:41Speaker 1: the major league baseball post-season where we have games starting
- 4:44Speaker 1: at 2 p.m. Eastern that go clean through the night
- 4:48Speaker 1: and then every day. So I've targeted the baseball playoffs.
- 4:53Speaker 5: And I guess this is what I can say. I'm
- 4:55Speaker 5: orthopedic surgeon. I don't do vasectomies. I'm not up on
- 4:59Speaker 5: the latest, but the technology and recovery is always evolving.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Okay.
- 5:05Speaker 5: Like in the beginning for concussions, it was sit in
- 5:08Speaker 5: a cool, dark room and don't use your mind. Now
- 5:11Speaker 5: the treatment for concussions is to go ahead and use
- 5:15Speaker 5: your mind to exercise it, you know, et cetera, to
- 5:19Speaker 5: stimulate it in some way, shape or form. So take
- 5:22Speaker 5: from that what you will. There may be altering treatments
- 5:26Speaker 5: in terms of vasectomies and what you should tell your wife.
- 5:30Speaker 1: I will take that under advisement. Uh, onto more pertinent news.
- 5:35Speaker 1: It looks like Puka Nakua is expected to play for
- 5:37Speaker 1: the Rams. Is he going to be slowed by this
- 5:39Speaker 1: hip or is this a full go for the Rams stud?
- 5:42Speaker 1: And we shouldn't even worry about it.
- 5:45Speaker 5: Well, look, if he's on your fantasy team, you have
- 5:48Speaker 5: to play Puka, right? He's playing like last week, Brock Bowers.
- 5:52Speaker 5: He may not have been a hundred percent, but you
- 5:54Speaker 5: have to play him. He's back and he had a
- 5:56Speaker 5: great game. Now, as far as Puka is concerned, though,
- 6:00Speaker 5: I don't know that he's 100%. It seems like he's
- 6:02Speaker 5: got a core muscle injury. And what we have to
- 6:06Speaker 5: look for is how explosive he is in and out
- 6:08Speaker 5: of breaks. The good news is he's a big body,
- 6:12Speaker 5: talented receiver. He doesn't rely on straight, pure speed separation.
- 6:17Speaker 5: It's a combination of things that makes him great. So
- 6:20Speaker 5: I think he still could be effective, but I don't
- 6:23Speaker 5: think he's 100%.
- 6:25Speaker 3: I want to talk about some of these quarterback injuries.
- 6:27Speaker 3: Drake May coming out of nowhere after having an absolute
- 6:30Speaker 3: shit game against Jacksonville saying, oh, my shoulder's injured. What
- 6:34Speaker 3: do you think about Drake May before we get into
- 6:36Speaker 3: some of these other quarterback injuries as well?
- 6:39Speaker 5: Well, it's interesting. And look, I've never met Drake May,
- 6:42Speaker 5: but like. New England fans hated me ahead of the
- 6:45Speaker 5: Super Bowl because I broke the news that his right
- 6:47Speaker 5: shoulder was injured. Now, isn't it ironic? They actually love
- 6:50Speaker 5: me now. No, Drake Bay's injured. This is why he's
- 6:52Speaker 5: not 100% and not doing well. Where is the truth?
- 6:55Speaker 5: Always somewhere in the middle. The injury he suffered before
- 6:58Speaker 5: the Super Bowl should be healed by now. Maybe there's
- 7:01Speaker 5: an aggravation. I don't know. Look, he was listed for
- 7:04Speaker 5: the first time in the injury report, but full practice.
- 7:07Speaker 5: So they're saying not a lot to see here. There's
- 7:09Speaker 5: usually more to the story. Like, You know, even like
- 7:12Speaker 5: the story about blood on the football and that's why
- 7:14Speaker 5: it slipped out of my hand. I don't know that
- 7:17Speaker 5: I buy that for this reason. Look, was there maybe
- 7:21Speaker 5: Vaseline on the football because the athletic trainer tried to
- 7:24Speaker 5: stop bleeding from the center with Vaseline and Vaseline got
- 7:28Speaker 5: it and made it slippery? Maybe. OK, but purely blood. And,
- 7:31Speaker 5: you know, I do surgery, orthopedic surgery. I can tell
- 7:34Speaker 5: you blood is tackier than water.
- 7:37Speaker 4: Right.
- 7:38Speaker 5: And so if you can hold a sweat dripped, moist football,
- 7:41Speaker 5: you should be able to hold blood on a football.
- 7:45Speaker 5: But I don't know what that situation was. The bottom
- 7:47Speaker 5: line is the decision making isn't the shoulder. Maybe there's
- 7:51Speaker 5: something in the shoulder they haven't.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Told us about.
- 7:53Speaker 5: They put them on the injury report, but that can't
- 7:56Speaker 5: be the whole explanation.
- 7:58Speaker 3: Yeah, the word going around is labrum. Would that be
- 8:01Speaker 3: something that with rest in the offseason would be pretty
- 8:04Speaker 3: much better by now, or is it something that can
- 8:06Speaker 3: pop back up?
- 8:08Speaker 5: Labrum can be lingering. Now, the AC joint that we
- 8:11Speaker 5: saw against the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship game
- 8:15Speaker 5: should be better. If there is a labral issue, that
- 8:18Speaker 5: is something to be of concern. We haven't specifically seen
- 8:22Speaker 5: that on video, but we wouldn't necessarily know that But
- 8:27Speaker 5: that is something that could be a big deal for
- 8:30Speaker 5: a quarterback.
- 8:31Speaker 2: All right.
- 8:31Speaker 3: Let's talk about Lamar Jackson because it is, you know,
- 8:35Speaker 3: people are assuming that he's going to play even though
- 8:37Speaker 3: he's had this back injury pop up. The way he
- 8:39Speaker 3: was celebrating after that kick didn't look like he had
- 8:41Speaker 3: a back injury to me. What do you think about
- 8:43Speaker 3: him popping up on the injury report?
- 8:46Speaker 5: I think it's been routine to have Lamar Jackson on
- 8:49Speaker 5: the injury report. And this is not a shot at
- 8:51Speaker 5: Lamar Jackson. Go back and look at the injury reports
- 8:54Speaker 5: last season and John Harbaugh's last year. Remember all the
- 8:57Speaker 5: controversy in the year? He basically never practiced on Wednesdays. Admittedly,
- 9:02Speaker 5: that was later in the season than this, and it
- 9:04Speaker 5: was back. It was knee. It was ankle. It was
- 9:06Speaker 5: roving around. And so I'm not particularly worried based off
- 9:10Speaker 5: of any video that we saw. Maybe his back was
- 9:14Speaker 5: sore from the plane ride back from Brazil. I don't know, right?
- 9:18Speaker 5: The bottom line is I'm not worried about that one.
- 9:21Speaker 5: I'm way more worried about their center situation, right? Center
- 9:25Speaker 5: number one and two, both on injury reserve. So they're
- 9:28Speaker 5: on center three, but it looks like they're short guards,
- 9:31Speaker 5: but they're going to slide a guard in at center. And,
- 9:34Speaker 5: you know, if the center is very key, obviously on
- 9:37Speaker 5: line protection calls. So that's going to be something to watch.
- 9:40Speaker 5: Much bigger worry there than Lamar.
- 9:42Speaker 2: All right.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Last but not least from me, talk me through this
- 9:46Speaker 3: Baker Mayfield injury. The screams that you allegedly could hear
- 9:50Speaker 3: coming out of him do not sound good.
- 9:52Speaker 2: What is his recovery expectation from you?
- 9:55Speaker 5: Well, look, I think all of us, it hurts when
- 9:58Speaker 5: you jam your thumb. He dislocated his thumb. I don't
- 10:02Speaker 5: begrudge him if he screamed.
- 10:04Speaker 1: I mean, no, absolutely not.
- 10:05Speaker 5: If anything, it'd be weird if he didn't, right? Especially
- 10:09Speaker 5: it was fourth down, the game was over. So it's
- 10:13Speaker 5: not like you're trying to, I'm a good leader and try,
- 10:15Speaker 5: you know, look, the game's over. So let's, do react
- 10:18Speaker 5: and do what you want dislocated a thumb here. Let
- 10:21Speaker 5: me give you the good news and bad news. Certainly
- 10:25Speaker 5: you it's never good to dislocate your thumb. They're trying
- 10:29Speaker 5: to say there were no ligaments or tendons torn. That's
- 10:31Speaker 5: what the report is. I call BS on that. I
- 10:35Speaker 5: don't expect any tendons torn, but ligaments, depending on what
- 10:40Speaker 5: you call, you can't dislocate any joint without tearing, injuring ligaments.
- 10:46Speaker 5: If they're calling ligaments a sprain instead of a tear,
- 10:49Speaker 5: a grade three sprain, okay. I think what they mean
- 10:53Speaker 5: is no ligaments or tendons torn that need surgery.
- 10:58Speaker 1: Okay.
- 10:59Speaker 5: But there's instability of the joint. And obviously you need
- 11:02Speaker 5: to grip to be able to spin it. So he's out.
- 11:05Speaker 5: The good news is because there's nothing that needs surgery,
- 11:09Speaker 5: I think they're going to avoid injured reserve. And you
- 11:13Speaker 5: probably want to anyways, because he's your quarterback. You want
- 11:17Speaker 5: to keep him alive, but you know, not playing this week.
- 11:20Speaker 5: It's Jalen Daniels, not J Jalen Daniels playing this week
- 11:24Speaker 5: for the Buccaneers. And, uh, you know, Baker has always
- 11:28Speaker 5: recovered quickly from injury. It wouldn't shock me. If he
- 11:33Speaker 5: tried to play the following week in week five, I
- 11:37Speaker 5: remember him playing through a shoulder dislocation on his non
- 11:39Speaker 5: throwing shoulder, not missing any time. Baker's always been a gamer,
- 11:44Speaker 5: so we'll see.
- 11:45Speaker 1: And a play extender, like you talked about last week.
- 11:50Speaker 1: I'm watching him run around on that fourth down.
- 11:52Speaker 5: And there you go, another injury from extending plays. But
- 11:56Speaker 5: I don't blame him on that one. That was fourth down,
- 11:59Speaker 5: end of the game. You got to try and do something, right?
- 12:01Speaker 5: I mean, it's the ones where you get hurt on
- 12:03Speaker 5: first and second down. I'm like, ah, you know, maybe
- 12:06Speaker 5: you got to live to fight another day.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Doc, let's wrap with this. I want to do something
- 12:11Speaker 1: different with you. And maybe this is something that we
- 12:13Speaker 1: do every week as a way to help us in
- 12:16Speaker 1: the handicapping process. Can you rank the it doesn't have
- 12:20Speaker 1: to necessarily be in order, but give us the top
- 12:23Speaker 1: five injured units in the NFL right now. I'm talking
- 12:28Speaker 1: full position groups could be quarterback Rams wide receivers, for instance,
- 12:34Speaker 1: Lions offensive line. Panthers secondary. Give us the top five
- 12:39Speaker 1: of injured units that we need to be concerned about
- 12:42Speaker 1: heading into week four.
- 12:44Speaker 5: Well, there's no question that you mentioned the Panthers. That
- 12:48Speaker 5: is one of the new ones, right? Because both cornerbacks
- 12:52Speaker 5: are injured. That is the new one. But they play
- 12:55Speaker 5: a team that has chronic secondary injuries this whole season
- 13:00Speaker 5: Detroit Lions so is there an over to be played
- 13:03Speaker 5: there I get it outdoors etc Detroit has a powerful
- 13:07Speaker 5: offense Carolina does have some wide receiver issues but Detroit's
- 13:12Speaker 5: secondary score is very low at 41.4 one of the
- 13:16Speaker 5: lowest out there another one that I'll call out for
- 13:19Speaker 5: you is we've been saying all season long and it
- 13:22Speaker 5: got worse We've been up units with our profitable NFL
- 13:28Speaker 5: season guarantee up, I think, 20-some units. And part of
- 13:31Speaker 5: it is in week one, we said Green Bay's injured.
- 13:34Speaker 5: Some of it was their offensive line. Their offensive line's
- 13:37Speaker 5: gotten more injured. We took the Jets, and they covered
- 13:40Speaker 5: week two. Then the world saw in week three, maybe
- 13:43Speaker 5: Green Bay is not so good anymore with Atlanta, but
- 13:46Speaker 5: their O-line score is 55.8, very low. The Chargers... 58.9.
- 13:52Speaker 5: Started the season injured at center and has not helped.
- 13:55Speaker 5: Maybe that's why Mike McDaniel run game can't get going. Look,
- 13:59Speaker 5: one of our easiest wagers at halftime was, look, we
- 14:03Speaker 5: do injuries, but we know the Chargers were injured. We
- 14:05Speaker 5: knew it didn't change. The run game didn't wake up
- 14:08Speaker 5: in the first half. The score was 10-10 based on
- 14:10Speaker 5: three turnovers, plus three turnovers. What do you think is
- 14:13Speaker 5: going to happen in the second half? You're plus three
- 14:16Speaker 5: on turnovers in the first half, haven't been able to
- 14:18Speaker 5: run the ball, and the score is 10-10? I mean,
- 14:20Speaker 5: they were plus four on the game. That's like a 99% win,
- 14:23Speaker 5: much less not, you know, Buffalo covered.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Last weekend. Don't remind me, Doc.
- 14:32Speaker 5: And Washington's been injured all season. O-line especially. It's not
- 14:37Speaker 5: just Jaden Daniels with the elbow. That's another one that's
- 14:40Speaker 5: out there. And the biggest one that everyone knows about
- 14:43Speaker 5: is San Francisco's D-line. Look, we can't get any more
- 14:47Speaker 5: bad news on San Francisco's D-line. Because everyone they had
- 14:50Speaker 5: is out. So the only news we're getting is new
- 14:53Speaker 5: signings or someone coming back. And theirs is very low
- 14:57Speaker 5: at 44.8. But they've been winning despite that.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Yeah, they have. They have been quite good. Sick Premium

- 15:25Speaker 1: Thank you. Time to welcome back our special guest picker,
- 15:29Speaker 1: Johnny Stremski, host of New York, New York, underscore NY,
- 15:33Speaker 1: SNY TV. He is the mayor of New York City,
- 15:37Speaker 1: and he is celebrating a beatdown of epic proportions with
- 15:40Speaker 1: the Boston Red Sox, a man who is on very
- 15:43Speaker 1: little sleep. and all fumes, coffee, and energy. How you doing, John?
- 15:47Speaker 4: Gang, it's a pleasure to be back.
- 15:49Speaker 6: Yes, Brandon and Kendra, I am in a glorious, glorious
- 15:53Speaker 6: mood today because the Yankees took care of the Red
- 15:55Speaker 6: Sox in two games, my Yankees in two caches, it's
- 15:59Speaker 6: Boston tears, order, and the rivalry is finally being restored
- 16:03Speaker 6: thanks to Cam Schlotler and Ben Rice. And the good
- 16:07Speaker 6: news for you guys is that I was not on
- 16:09Speaker 6: the favorites pod in week three because.
- 16:12Speaker 4: It was.
- 16:13Speaker 6: Not a kind Sunday to me other than Kendra's Jacksonville
- 16:16Speaker 6: Jaguars who took care of business. And I felt great
- 16:19Speaker 6: about that pick. And the Broncos ended up being a winner.
- 16:22Speaker 6: But I'm still crying about the Saints meltdown. And don't
- 16:26Speaker 6: get me started on those loser, fraud, gutless Los Angeles Chargers.
- 16:33Speaker 5: Oh, John.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Yeah, that was one of the most torturous non-covers of
- 16:40Speaker 1: my entire life. I was on the Chargers. We were
- 16:42Speaker 1: collectively on the Chargers.
- 16:44Speaker 2: No, I was not on the Chargers.
- 16:46Speaker 1: I just mean as the contest. If we have it
- 16:49Speaker 1: in the contest, we're in it together whether you like
- 16:51Speaker 1: it or not.
- 16:51Speaker 4: You're a team player at that point. You could have vetoed.
- 16:55Speaker 3: I do agree that it was a team play, but
- 16:58Speaker 3: I wanted it to be wrong.
- 17:00Speaker 2: I'm sorry because Gifford fucked up so bad.
- 17:03Speaker 1: He did. So last week.
- 17:05Speaker 2: I wanted to have this over Gifford. I'm sorry.
- 17:07Speaker 3: I will take a loss for the team to be
- 17:09Speaker 3: able to give Gifford shit about this.
- 17:11Speaker 4: I need context on this.
- 17:12Speaker 1: How did Gifford drop the ball? We had the chargers
- 17:15Speaker 1: plus seven and a half was one of my personal
- 17:18Speaker 1: best bets of last week. As far as the contest goes,
- 17:21Speaker 1: it was an alternate play. We had five others that
- 17:24Speaker 1: collectively we liked better, but one of them was the
- 17:27Speaker 1: Falcons plus the points on Thursday night football. Gifford got
- 17:31Speaker 1: so busy on Thursday. He forgot to submit our plays
- 17:35Speaker 1: until that night. So we didn't get to cash that
- 17:38Speaker 1: in the contest and, And we had to replace it
- 17:41Speaker 1: with the Chargers plus seven and a half.
- 17:43Speaker 6: That was the most inevitable outcome possible. In fact, I
- 17:47Speaker 6: wish I knew that was the swap because I think
- 17:50Speaker 6: my confidence and my feeling on that Charger game might
- 17:53Speaker 6: have been drastically different because.
- 17:55Speaker 2: That's always the way it goes.
- 17:56Speaker 3: Because Gifford's such a dick sometimes that I'm like, I
- 17:59Speaker 3: need to take my shots where I can get them.
- 18:02Speaker 4: You need material. I get it. We all need material
- 18:04Speaker 4: in life, Kendra. I understand. I understand.
- 18:06Speaker 1: But you're right. What is it about?
- 18:07Speaker 4: I'm not feeling good about it, though.
- 18:10Speaker 1: What is it about the gambling universe that made that
- 18:13Speaker 1: particular situation? If there's a bet that you like, you
- 18:15Speaker 1: forget to place it. If there's a contest you're in,
- 18:18Speaker 1: you want to slide one in, but you get to
- 18:20Speaker 1: the site too late. It's the biggest lock in the
- 18:24Speaker 1: universe that that bet that you don't make that you
- 18:27Speaker 1: want to make cashes. It's like the hit rate is
- 18:29Speaker 1: like 99.9%.
- 18:30Speaker 4: So from like a contest perspective, totally fair.
- 18:34Speaker 6: Now, gang, my counter to this would be like if
- 18:37Speaker 6: it's your own personal account and accord.
- 18:42Speaker 4: You can't always go and bet a game live.
- 18:44Speaker 6: Like if you oversleep and you forget to go and
- 18:46Speaker 6: bet the London game or whatever, or maybe you're running around,
- 18:50Speaker 6: you're at dinner, you're at the gym.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Oh crap.
- 18:53Speaker 4: This game starts at seven.
- 18:54Speaker 6: It starts at eight o'clock. The live line on, on
- 18:57Speaker 6: any of these sports books, they'll take care of you.
- 18:59Speaker 6: Don't forget about that.
- 19:00Speaker 1: I like that. That's a great gambling advice, John. Let's just,
- 19:03Speaker 1: let's just live. Let's just chase the live bet. Always.
- 19:08Speaker 4: Always and forever.
- 19:12Speaker 2: Just pick something already.
- 19:14Speaker 1: If you don't like it you can just veto it
- 19:16Speaker 1: all right let's get to it reminder we have five
- 19:19Speaker 1: picks to make for the contest to be cemented here
- 19:21Speaker 1: i will nominate a pair as we go through kendra
- 19:24Speaker 1: will nominate a pair and jj will put the icing
- 19:27Speaker 1: on the cake he gets one of our five plays
- 19:30Speaker 1: and we all have vetoes that we can use throughout
- 19:33Speaker 1: let's start With Thursday night football Steelers Browns Browns two
- 19:37Speaker 1: and a half point dogs total sitting at 38 and
- 19:40Speaker 1: a half. Don't look now folks with the entire AFC
- 19:43Speaker 1: North is two and one, which means the winner of
- 19:46Speaker 1: this game is going to be sitting in first place,
- 19:48Speaker 1: at least temporarily. Rogers looked as crisp as we have
- 19:52Speaker 1: seen him since he put on a Steelers uniform against Cincinnati.
- 19:56Speaker 1: The question is, is it repeatable tonight? Kendra also fun
- 20:00Speaker 1: fact tonight is rock and roll night in Cleveland.
- 20:03Speaker 2: Rock and roll night in Cleveland. What does that mean?
- 20:05Speaker 1: It's like their theme. That's what they're doing. They're doing,
- 20:08Speaker 1: they have like, uh, rock and roll performances. They're probably
- 20:11Speaker 1: bringing out like the stones.
- 20:12Speaker 3: There's going to be some, there's some boomer acts that
- 20:18Speaker 3: are probably doing the national anthem and halftime, something like that.
- 20:21Speaker 2: I think that this is like the most mid.
- 20:23Speaker 3: Quarterback battle we're going to have all week, but I
- 20:26Speaker 3: guess it depends on who you trust more. And for me,
- 20:29Speaker 3: that feels like putting a gun to my head. I
- 20:31Speaker 3: have absolutely no care in the world about this game.
- 20:34Speaker 3: I can't believe that this is what we're getting. I
- 20:36Speaker 3: just can't pick a quarterback. And that's, I think my problem.
- 20:41Speaker 4: I have a problem with this game too.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Do we believe in the Browns? I mean, I know
- 20:45Speaker 2: I do.
- 20:45Speaker 4: That's exactly my point, Kendra.
- 20:48Speaker 2: See, because I.
- 20:49Speaker 3: Do, but I'm the only person on this podcast who does.
- 20:51Speaker 3: So I feel like I'm just talking out of my ass.
- 20:54Speaker 6: So here's the problem. I like the Browns in this spot.
- 20:58Speaker 6: The Browns have been spunky. Very spunky since they got
- 21:01Speaker 6: beat down by your Jaguars. Come back against the Buccaneers.
- 21:05Speaker 6: Find a way to win at home against Carolina. All
- 21:07Speaker 6: of a sudden, the Browns fans that wanted Deshaun Watson
- 21:10Speaker 6: cut before week one.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Are chanting his name.
- 21:12Speaker 4: Actually, I mean, it just goes to show you, so
- 21:13Speaker 4: many games, everything changes. That's the way it works in sports.
- 21:17Speaker 6: I also fear this could be the sort of game
- 21:20Speaker 6: where I bet Cleveland plus two and a half, which
- 21:22Speaker 6: I will.
- 21:23Speaker 4: And then I'm watching it saying, oh my goodness, I
- 21:26Speaker 4: just bet the Browns. Why did I do this? Why
- 21:28Speaker 4: did I do this? Why did I do this?
- 21:30Speaker 6: And, you know, normally Pittsburgh, Brennan, these spots, they're terrible.
- 21:35Speaker 4: Like the spot to take the.
- 21:37Speaker 6: Steelers was the last week when they're getting points, when
- 21:40Speaker 6: they're at home.
- 21:41Speaker 4: For years, I used to call it the Mike Tomlin
- 21:44Speaker 4: rah-rah special.
- 21:44Speaker 6: I feel like I'm going to have to rebrand that
- 21:46Speaker 6: now because he's now in the broadcast booth.
- 21:50Speaker 4: But I like the home team. I like points. I'm
- 21:52Speaker 4: not laying points with the Steelers.
- 21:54Speaker 3: The other thing here is, though, there's no way that
- 21:58Speaker 3: the Steelers can do what they did last week again.
- 22:00Speaker 2: Like, there's just no way. That was their Super Bowl
- 22:02Speaker 2: last week.
- 22:04Speaker 1: Well, that's the problem with buying either of these teams
- 22:06Speaker 1: is that you're buying high on both of them. You know,
- 22:08Speaker 1: the Panthers dealt with major injuries that we'll get to
- 22:11Speaker 1: when we talk about the Panthers Lions game and then
- 22:14Speaker 1: and melted down at the end of that game, a
- 22:16Speaker 1: game that outside of a penalty on a fourth down,
- 22:19Speaker 1: they win that game against the Browns. The Browns end
- 22:22Speaker 1: up winning. The Steelers have a picture-perfect performance against a
- 22:26Speaker 1: good team in Cincinnati. I don't want to buy high
- 22:29Speaker 1: on either of these teams. I like the under in
- 22:31Speaker 1: this game. I want the under.
- 22:33Speaker 4: It's a gross game. Why not?
- 22:35Speaker 1: Disgusting game. We have seen a total of 53 Thursday
- 22:39Speaker 1: night football games where the total is closed under 40,
- 22:42Speaker 1: which we're at right now. The under in those games,
- 22:44Speaker 1: 32 and 19, including 22 and 10 in the first
- 22:46Speaker 1: half since 2005. To me, let's go under.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Maybe a Jalen Warren over on yards. If you like
- 22:56Speaker 1: the Steelers, they got to run the football tonight and
- 22:59Speaker 1: we'll move the hell on. Well, the moral of.
- 23:01Speaker 4: The story is we're not playing this in the contest.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Hell no. Correct. Thank you. Next, we go to London, England.
- 23:07Speaker 1: It's the Breakfast Club, fam. Washington put up points last
- 23:11Speaker 1: week against Seattle, which seemed impossible. Biggest upset of week three.
- 23:17Speaker 1: They are now three and a half point underdogs. Indianapolis Colts,
- 23:21Speaker 1: but this is not a home game for Washington. This
- 23:23Speaker 1: is a London game. The Colts secondary really struggled first
- 23:27Speaker 1: two weeks of the season, but they played Lamar and Patrick,
- 23:30Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes, CJ Stroud minus a Nico Collins got them
- 23:34Speaker 1: right back on track. London games are weird. Favorites typically
- 23:39Speaker 1: perform well in these spots. Kendra, I could be talked
- 23:41Speaker 1: into the other side though. I like what I'm seeing
- 23:44Speaker 1: with Marcus Mariota and and these scrappy commanders. So my
- 23:48Speaker 1: lean is towards commanders. I would not veto it if
- 23:51Speaker 1: you throw it in there.
- 23:52Speaker 2: No, absolutely not. I want nothing to do with this.
- 23:54Speaker 3: I am the one on this show who has watched
- 23:56Speaker 3: more London games than anybody else. And the better team
- 24:00Speaker 3: usually wins these games. I know that you're getting the
- 24:03Speaker 3: three and a half, which is ideal if you want
- 24:05Speaker 3: to be on the commanders.
- 24:06Speaker 2: But I don't believe in Marcus Mariota.
- 24:07Speaker 3: The only thing about him is that he is so
- 24:10Speaker 3: senior to the game that he will probably take care
- 24:12Speaker 3: of the football. I was looking at some interception props
- 24:14Speaker 3: for him. It seems like the books kind of agree
- 24:17Speaker 3: with that. But the Colts are far and away the
- 24:19Speaker 3: better team here to talk about. Everybody wanting to buy
- 24:22Speaker 3: into these teams right now after the wins that they
- 24:24Speaker 3: had last week. I think you just got to steer
- 24:27Speaker 3: the course and do what's right. I do not want
- 24:29Speaker 3: this in the contest at all. I actually kind of
- 24:31Speaker 3: hate the London games for any kind of betting anything,
- 24:34Speaker 3: but no way, no how, not me.
- 24:36Speaker 1: So I'm in agreement.
- 24:38Speaker 4: There's no way in the world this can be a
- 24:39Speaker 4: contest play because this game is absolutely gross. That said,
- 24:42Speaker 4: I'd go the other way here, Brandon.
- 24:44Speaker 6: I actually think Indianapolis can build upon the momentum of
- 24:48Speaker 6: beating the Houston Texans and finding a way to win
- 24:51Speaker 6: that game.
- 24:51Speaker 4: And you peel back the layers. Okay, they lost in week.
- 24:54Speaker 1: One of the Ravens.
- 24:56Speaker 6: I think we'd all agree the Ravens are probably going
- 24:58Speaker 6: to be one of the best teams in the league.
- 25:00Speaker 4: And they went toe-to-toe with the Chiefs.
- 25:01Speaker 6: You know, even though they ended up losing that game
- 25:03Speaker 6: and didn't necessarily trust Daniel Jones in the overtime, I
- 25:07Speaker 6: had Indianapolis that week two spot getting the points.
- 25:10Speaker 4: I thought they performed well.
- 25:13Speaker 6: I think Washington, they had their moment against Seattle last week.
- 25:18Speaker 6: You mentioned the idea of buying low or buying high
- 25:23Speaker 6: on a team. We're buying high on Washington. I think
- 25:26Speaker 6: Indianapolis is just a much better roster. You're a team
- 25:29Speaker 6: that's going to contend for the playoffs. You're going to
- 25:30Speaker 6: win this game.
- 25:31Speaker 4: Three and a half, scary.
- 25:33Speaker 6: Not endorsing a contest play, but my lean is to
- 25:35Speaker 6: take the better team.
- 25:36Speaker 1: I'm on the Colts. Well, and that's where my pushback is.
- 25:40Speaker 1: I'm not sure that the Colts are actually better. I think,
- 25:42Speaker 1: if anything, these two teams are dead even, and we're
- 25:45Speaker 1: just getting three and a half, in my opinion, for
- 25:48Speaker 1: no good reason other than perception. Do you think.
- 25:52Speaker 4: Washington a little bit better and showed you some last week?
- 25:56Speaker 1: I just think they're the same. I mean, this is
- 25:59Speaker 1: not a play on Washington is a better football team.
- 26:02Speaker 1: It's that these two teams are equal equally. And I
- 26:04Speaker 1: really can't figure out, I mean, the numbers that I produce,
- 26:07Speaker 1: as I mentioned many times, not gospel, there's no difference
- 26:11Speaker 1: between these two football teams. So why am I getting
- 26:14Speaker 1: three points and a hook on a quarterback that clearly
- 26:17Speaker 1: keeps the offense on time and on schedule and doesn't
- 26:22Speaker 1: turn the ball over against the defense that, yes, they
- 26:25Speaker 1: looked impressive last week. CJ Stroud and that offense, David Montgomery,
- 26:30Speaker 1: what a waste of money that's been. And if Nico
- 26:33Speaker 1: Collins doesn't play, they just have no one Xavier. They're
- 26:36Speaker 1: asking way too much of Xavier Hutchinson in this offense. Also, Evan,
- 26:41Speaker 1: I want you to chime in on this because this
- 26:43Speaker 1: is a stat that we will probably layer in a
- 26:45Speaker 1: couple of times. Teams starting their non week one starter
- 26:50Speaker 1: are six and O is that straight up or against
- 26:53Speaker 1: the spread?
- 26:54Speaker 7: Believe that's straight up came from ESPN. I mean, What
- 26:58Speaker 7: I have is backup quarterbacks at five and two against
- 27:00Speaker 7: the spread this season, which is just fantastic in itself.
- 27:05Speaker 7: And depending on the Chicago situation, I think you have
- 27:07Speaker 7: like three or four this week. So definitely something with that.
- 27:11Speaker 7: There's also definitely something with like first start and second
- 27:14Speaker 7: start for backups. So I can look into a little
- 27:17Speaker 7: bit of data there, but it's definitely different.
- 27:20Speaker 2: But there's no way that continues, right?
- 27:22Speaker 1: Well, that I mean, it's definitely on too much of
- 27:25Speaker 1: a heater right now, but. Marcus Mariota is one of
- 27:31Speaker 1: the better backups in the league.
- 27:33Speaker 4: I would agree with that.
- 27:34Speaker 6: Does the Daniel Jones in primetime trend count for standalone games?
- 27:40Speaker 2: I don't know. That's a good question.
- 27:41Speaker 1: I don't think so.
- 27:43Speaker 4: Also, he did. I just want to be clear on this.
- 27:45Speaker 4: He did cover a primetime game Sunday night, week two.
- 27:50Speaker 1: That is true. He did win, but he covered. No
- 27:54Speaker 1: play favorites have excelled in international games, 42, 15 and
- 27:58Speaker 1: one straight up and 35 and 23 against the spread.
- 28:01Speaker 1: So you guys are right. The better team typically wins
- 28:04Speaker 1: and covers, but I'm not sure that they are. Let's
- 28:07Speaker 1: move on. 1 PM on Sunday, Patriots bills. This one's
- 28:12Speaker 1: kind of dancing around between six and a half and
- 28:15Speaker 1: seven total sitting at 48 and a half. The bills
- 28:18Speaker 1: are one of five unbeaten teams heading into this week.
- 28:20Speaker 1: The Patriots are, It looks like they haven't even started
- 28:23Speaker 1: their season yet. The Bills turned the ball over five
- 28:26Speaker 1: times in their last game. Josh Allen didn't throw a
- 28:28Speaker 1: touchdown pass, and yet they still won and covered. I
- 28:32Speaker 1: know I don't need to remind you, John Yastrzemski. And
- 28:35Speaker 1: the Patriots did nothing right against the Jags. This is
- 28:37Speaker 1: such an obvious buy low on the New England Patriots,
- 28:41Speaker 1: but I have to stop betting against the Bills. So
- 28:43Speaker 1: I can't do this. Somebody else is going to have
- 28:46Speaker 1: to touch it. It's obviously a Pat spot, but I
- 28:50Speaker 1: don't know. I don't know what we do with this.
- 28:51Speaker 3: I know it's very obviously a pad spot. Drake performs
- 28:54Speaker 3: really well against the bills in his career. But the
- 28:57Speaker 3: thing is, is that this.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Whole like shoulder injury, blood bull crap is going on.
- 29:00Speaker 2: Did he cry? Did he not cry?
- 29:02Speaker 3: Uh, the thing for me is that the bills receivers
- 29:05Speaker 3: are injured. Keon Coleman and DJ Moore are both questionable.
- 29:09Speaker 3: I have the Patriots in federal bet prison. So I
- 29:14Speaker 3: also can't do this, but I did bet the under and,
- 29:17Speaker 3: and i also you could convince me into getting to
- 29:20Speaker 3: the window on one of the tight ends but i
- 29:23Speaker 3: have officially put in the under i don't the patriots
- 29:26Speaker 3: clearly can't score their offense is just in shambles and
- 29:29Speaker 3: if drake really is hurt or making bad decisions you're
- 29:31Speaker 3: not gonna have a good a get right game against
- 29:33Speaker 3: an undefeated buffalo bills team like that's just not going
- 29:36Speaker 3: to happen and if you know josh allen is either
- 29:40Speaker 3: turning i think it's going to be a josh allen
- 29:41Speaker 3: get right game but i don't even think that that
- 29:43Speaker 3: matters yes they did win last week but he turned
- 29:45Speaker 3: the ball over he didn't throw a touchdown i think
- 29:48Speaker 3: he could absolutely do that against this team but even
- 29:50Speaker 3: if that is the case they're not going to score
- 29:52Speaker 3: that many points alone.
- 29:54Speaker 4: Guys there's no way in the world i'm betting the
- 29:56Speaker 4: patriots No.
- 29:57Speaker 1: No way.
- 29:58Speaker 4: Can't do it.
- 29:59Speaker 6: First of all, after having the Chargers last week and
- 30:01Speaker 6: watching how poorly Josh Allen played for two and a half,
- 30:04Speaker 6: three quarters, they still found a way to win. They
- 30:07Speaker 6: still found a way to cover. Kendra, you watched the
- 30:09Speaker 6: Patriots last week. That team is a hot mess.
- 30:12Speaker 4: They're a hot mess. The quarterback, his confidence is totally shook.
- 30:16Speaker 6: Uh Vrabel is not getting the same results out of
- 30:19Speaker 6: the defense they had no answers for Liam Cohen in that.
- 30:21Speaker 2: Offense McDaniels dude yeah all.
- 30:25Speaker 6: Of a sudden Josh McDaniels who was the toast of
- 30:26Speaker 6: the town in New England uh feeling the tomatoes coming
- 30:30Speaker 6: at his face not ideal and from like everything about
- 30:33Speaker 6: the spot you guys are absolutely right screams hey let's
- 30:37Speaker 6: buy low on the Patriots let's grab six and a
- 30:39Speaker 6: half points They covered, they won outright in Buffalo a
- 30:43Speaker 6: year ago. That kind of jump-started their run to a
- 30:46Speaker 6: Super Bowl. The problem is Buffalo early on has looked
- 30:51Speaker 6: like a team on a mission. And if you think
- 30:53Speaker 6: about statement games, they did not win the AFC East
- 30:57Speaker 6: a year ago.
- 30:58Speaker 4: The Patriots are down 10%. I think they're going to
- 31:00Speaker 4: kick them when they're down.
- 31:01Speaker 6: I'm not playing this as a contest play because the
- 31:04Speaker 6: line is a little too ratty for my liking, but
- 31:06Speaker 6: you tell me right now, life on the line, I
- 31:08Speaker 6: have to go and take one of these two teams
- 31:09Speaker 6: that covered a number.
- 31:10Speaker 4: I'm taking the pills.
- 31:11Speaker 7: Sorry.
- 31:11Speaker 4: I need to see it from the Patriots. I agree.
- 31:13Speaker 2: Okay.
- 31:14Speaker 1: Yeah. I'm with you. Drake may six INTs and it
- 31:19Speaker 1: just feels like all of them are ugly. Like these
- 31:22Speaker 1: are all a lot of them on him, a sub
- 31:25Speaker 1: 60 passing rate. That's just ahead of Cooper rush and
- 31:28Speaker 1: Jamis Winston. And the Bills' defense is not great. They're
- 31:34Speaker 1: most susceptible against the run. They allowed 131 yards to
- 31:37Speaker 1: the Chargers last week, who can't run the football. But
- 31:41Speaker 1: the Patriots can't either. So I have to find some
- 31:45Speaker 1: form of a football reason to back a team, and
- 31:48Speaker 1: I cannot get there on the Patriots. I will say
- 31:50Speaker 1: that if you're out there wanting to bet New England,
- 31:52Speaker 1: do not buy six and a half. That seven is
- 31:56Speaker 1: the seven. There could be a seven and a half
- 31:58Speaker 1: that pops up. That's a key number. Do not bet
- 32:01Speaker 1: plus six and a half on the Patriots. And the
- 32:04Speaker 1: bills in a teaser, not the worst idea either, but
- 32:07Speaker 1: I've had the worst luck with teasers. So I'm on
- 32:09Speaker 1: a nice teaser hiatus. Let's go to the next game
- 32:14Speaker 1: on the card. We do not have a nomination yet.
- 32:16Speaker 1: Last week, it was like we're just ripping them off
- 32:18Speaker 1: out of the gate. We're slow playing it here. Titans
- 32:22Speaker 1: Ravens Ravens laying 11 and a half at home total
- 32:25Speaker 1: at 42 and a half. I have a feeling this
- 32:26Speaker 1: one's not getting in there either. Cam Ward looks like
- 32:29Speaker 1: one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL. If you
- 32:32Speaker 1: can't beat Jameis Winston and a Giants team that mustered
- 32:35Speaker 1: 12 whole points, what are we doing? I get this
- 32:38Speaker 1: as a fat number, but the Titans feel as untouchable
- 32:41Speaker 1: as the Patriots right now, which of course is right
- 32:44Speaker 1: around the time that a team usually covers. I cannot
- 32:47Speaker 1: do it. Kendra.
- 32:48Speaker 3: I just asked GIF for what the contest line is
- 32:51Speaker 3: for this because if it's 11 and a half, I'm
- 32:54Speaker 3: absolutely in on the Titans.
- 32:56Speaker 2: If it's the eight and a half, absolutely not.
- 32:58Speaker 3: This feels like just one of those games where the
- 33:01Speaker 3: Titans are going to show up because one, the Ravens
- 33:04Speaker 3: are coming back from Rio and we know that I
- 33:06Speaker 3: love to handicap travel. That is something that is just
- 33:09Speaker 3: one of the best things to me in this is
- 33:11Speaker 3: looking at who's traveling and for how long. And that
- 33:13Speaker 3: is a long flight from Rio back to Baltimore. The
- 33:16Speaker 3: other thing here is the Ravens are so injured. Their
- 33:19Speaker 3: injury report sucks. Lamar popped up on it this week
- 33:22Speaker 3: as we talked to Dr.
- 33:23Speaker 1: Chow about.
- 33:23Speaker 2: Zay is on there. Trey Hendrickson's on there. Staley, questionable
- 33:27Speaker 2: as well.
- 33:28Speaker 3: It just feels like with the combination of travel and
- 33:31Speaker 3: them being injured and Lamar having a hard time covering
- 33:34Speaker 3: big numbers, I know that the Titans are ass, but
- 33:37Speaker 3: this feels like a large enough number.
- 33:38Speaker 2: It is 11 and a half.
- 33:39Speaker 3: I feel like I kind of have to nominate the Titans,
- 33:42Speaker 3: you guys.
- 33:43Speaker 4: Wow. And you know what, Kendra?
- 33:44Speaker 6: I'm not even going to push back on it. I
- 33:47Speaker 6: don't think it's crazy at all. How many times have
- 33:50Speaker 6: we witnessed these Lamar Baltimore teams playing with their food.
- 33:54Speaker 4: Early in the year? I mean, my goodness, we saw
- 33:56Speaker 4: them lose outright to the.
- 34:00Speaker 6: New Orleans Saints. And I know New Orleans is much
- 34:02Speaker 6: better than Tennessee. Let me make that abundantly clear. But
- 34:05Speaker 6: like the Raiders a couple of years ago, like there
- 34:07Speaker 6: have been a laundry list of games where it's like, Oh,
- 34:10Speaker 6: why are the Ravens only up by three with four
- 34:12Speaker 6: minutes to go or three minutes to go? And listen,
- 34:14Speaker 6: he's 0-3 teams. There's a case to be made. You
- 34:17Speaker 6: want to bet these 0-3 teams, right? Like, I feel
- 34:19Speaker 6: like nobody wants to get in front of them. You're
- 34:22Speaker 6: going to go and take Tennessee. I am not pushing
- 34:24Speaker 6: back on this.
- 34:25Speaker 4: I think Baltimore does what they need to do to
- 34:27Speaker 4: win this game by like seven to ten points. I
- 34:29Speaker 4: think it's a good pick.
- 34:30Speaker 3: Kravitz, I'm going to be nice to you this week.
- 34:33Speaker 3: I have so many spreads that I like that I
- 34:36Speaker 3: will let you tell me that you don't love this
- 34:39Speaker 3: if you like, but I do love this.
- 34:42Speaker 1: I don't want to be very clear. I do not
- 34:44Speaker 1: love it. There is no love here, but I get it.
- 34:51Speaker 4: The levels of love here.
- 34:52Speaker 5: Okay.
- 34:52Speaker 1: I'll give you, I'll give you the, um, the positive spin.
- 34:56Speaker 1: If the Titans cover this number, Look, it's, it's, we're
- 35:00Speaker 1: going past 10 in the NFL. It's hard to beat
- 35:03Speaker 1: teams by double digits, no matter who you are. Their
- 35:06Speaker 1: defense hasn't given up more than 24 points and they
- 35:10Speaker 1: held the giants, whatever, whatever that's worth to four of
- 35:13Speaker 1: 13 on third down 4.1 yards per play. They have
- 35:16Speaker 1: a 14, their 14th and success rate on the season.
- 35:20Speaker 1: The defense could keep them in it, but Lamar is
- 35:23Speaker 1: playing like an MVP right now. Derek Henry going up
- 35:25Speaker 1: against his former team. And as Evan mentioned in our
- 35:28Speaker 1: chat behind the scenes here, the Titans are right now
- 35:32Speaker 1: rocking with the worst offensive line in football. That's why
- 35:36Speaker 1: I don't love it. There are reasons, though, so I'm
- 35:38Speaker 1: not going to veto this. If you're adamant about it,
- 35:42Speaker 1: you let me fill out a five-play card last week
- 35:46Speaker 1: because you weren't feeling it. So I'm not going to
- 35:48Speaker 1: push back on this one too much. Titans plus 11
- 35:51Speaker 1: and a half is in the contest.
- 35:53Speaker 4: Let's go, Kendra.
- 35:54Speaker 2: Okay.
- 35:55Speaker 3: Unless you guys have something of mine that I'm going
- 35:57Speaker 3: to give you that you love more, we can keep
- 35:58Speaker 3: it there. But I'll let you guys have a little
- 36:00Speaker 3: bit more say this week just because I have so
- 36:02Speaker 3: many things to nominate.
- 36:04Speaker 2: Just know I will hold this over your head at
- 36:06Speaker 2: some point.
- 36:07Speaker 1: Okay, right now Titans plus 11 and a half is
- 36:10Speaker 1: in there and we'll see if it stays within the contest.
- 36:14Speaker 2: And it'd be the Falcons of last week. I would
- 36:17Speaker 2: never let it go. I would literally never let it go.
- 36:20Speaker 1: No, those are the ones you never forget. Jets, Bears,
- 36:23Speaker 1: Bears laying three and a half total of 43 and
- 36:26Speaker 1: a half. Jets facing their third straight NFC North team,
- 36:30Speaker 1: which is sort of an oddity in the schedule. Case
- 36:32Speaker 1: Keenum hadn't started a game since 2023. Didn't matter. He
- 36:37Speaker 1: was perfect on Monday Night Football. 27 points on offense
- 36:41Speaker 1: with points left on the table. Sorry to Gilles Gallant,
- 36:44Speaker 1: who had the Colston Loveland anytime touchdown elbow down right
- 36:48Speaker 1: there on the inch line. The Jets defense was good
- 36:51Speaker 1: in weeks one and week two. Some of that competition
- 36:53Speaker 1: based Tennessee, Green Bay and all of that. But they
- 36:57Speaker 1: were coming off of an overtime game last week and
- 37:00Speaker 1: they still hung with Detroit. I was lucky to get
- 37:03Speaker 1: that cover. I was on the lines at minus six
- 37:04Speaker 1: and a half. I kind of like the Jets here. Kendra,
- 37:08Speaker 1: what do you think?
- 37:10Speaker 3: Okay, so my thing is, I was doing some research
- 37:13Speaker 3: this morning about this. It seems like the Bears are
- 37:16Speaker 3: going to play Tyson Bajan and not Case Keenum, which
- 37:19Speaker 3: I think is insane.
- 37:21Speaker 1: Yeah, it is. I hope, you know what? As somebody
- 37:23Speaker 1: who has already bet the Jets plus three and a half,
- 37:26Speaker 1: I really hope that it's Bajan.
- 37:27Speaker 3: If it's Tyson Bajan, I'm kind of in on the Jets.
- 37:31Speaker 3: But if it's going to be Case Keenum, I'm not.
- 37:34Speaker 4: Guys, let's make it three for three. I'm on Jets.
- 37:37Speaker 1: All right.
- 37:38Speaker 6: To Kravitz's point, the Jets were in a brutal spot
- 37:42Speaker 6: last week.
- 37:42Speaker 3: Listen, I got so much shit at the beginning of
- 37:44Speaker 3: the year for loving the Jets.
- 37:45Speaker 2: You don't have to convince me to go for it.
- 37:46Speaker 3: I know.
- 37:47Speaker 6: I came on the show and fought back. And listen,
- 37:49Speaker 6: I'm no Aaron Glenn fan. I still think he's one
- 37:51Speaker 6: of the worst coaches in the league. But they have
- 37:53Speaker 6: significantly upgraded their talent. I mean, offensively speaking, I know
- 37:57Speaker 6: it's iffy if Brees Hall is going to give it
- 37:59Speaker 6: a go.
- 38:00Speaker 4: They can replace him with Braylon Allen. Garrett Wilson was
- 38:03Speaker 4: a monster. Oh, my goodness.
- 38:05Speaker 6: He made some unbelievable catches in that line game. Kenyon Sadiq,
- 38:08Speaker 6: the tight end out of Oregon, had a really nice performance.
- 38:13Speaker 6: I like the passing game for the Jets. I'm getting
- 38:15Speaker 6: three and a half. The only thing that scares me here,
- 38:19Speaker 6: it could be a massive coaching mismatch with Ben Johnson
- 38:21Speaker 6: against Aaron Glenn. And remember, those guys know each other very,
- 38:24Speaker 6: very well from their Detroit tenure.
- 38:27Speaker 4: Kendrick, spot on. How do you not point Keenum in
- 38:29Speaker 4: this game? He's perfect. He's unbelievable. They're moving the ball
- 38:33Speaker 4: great against a really good Eagle defense. How is he
- 38:35Speaker 4: not the starter this week?
- 38:37Speaker 3: Can I pee on your campfire a little bit?
- 38:42Speaker 4: Yeah, sure. Why not?
- 38:42Speaker 2: The only thing, I am all down with the Jets. However,
- 38:47Speaker 2: I am going to.
- 38:48Speaker 3: Throw, I personally have already placed this, but I'm going
- 38:51Speaker 3: to throw Geno Smith to throw a pick out there.
- 38:54Speaker 3: I know that it's minus 140, but the thing is,
- 38:56Speaker 3: is that he hasn't thrown a pick all season.
- 38:58Speaker 4: Oh, he's so due. If you're going to tell me.
- 39:01Speaker 6: The Jets have been due to get an interception for
- 39:03Speaker 6: almost two years and we're still waiting.
- 39:04Speaker 4: So, I mean.
- 39:06Speaker 3: If you can't tell me that Geno Smith is like
- 39:09Speaker 3: going to You can't... He's four weeks into the season
- 39:12Speaker 3: and he's not going to throw a pick.
- 39:13Speaker 2: Geno Smith, are you serious? There's no way.
- 39:15Speaker 3: And that's the thing is the one thing the Bears
- 39:17Speaker 3: can do on defense is they'll snatch it from you.
- 39:19Speaker 2: So I'm going to go Geno Smith for an interception.
- 39:22Speaker 4: I'm tailing that bet. I like that.
- 39:23Speaker 1: Yeah, the Bears do like their turnovers.
- 39:26Speaker 2: He's doing man.
- 39:27Speaker 1: This to me is as much about fading a public
- 39:30Speaker 1: darling after a win in an isolation primetime game against
- 39:36Speaker 1: a perceived elite opponent. It wasn't just the Bears looking
- 39:39Speaker 1: great in front of America with a backup quarterback. It's
- 39:43Speaker 1: that they did it against the Eagles as well. And
- 39:46Speaker 1: I think that's part of what makes this an investment.
- 39:49Speaker 1: Ben Johnson, 67% against the spread as the head coach
- 39:53Speaker 1: of the Chicago Bears. The guy does cover spreads, but
- 39:55Speaker 1: the Bears are just one in four straight up the
- 39:57Speaker 1: week after playing in primetime. We're seeing the public get
- 40:00Speaker 1: absolutely crushed this year. 58% of the bets on the
- 40:04Speaker 1: Chicago Bears. It is time to fade Chicago, no matter
- 40:08Speaker 1: who is their starting quarterback. We like the Jets. plus
- 40:12Speaker 1: three and a half. That is in the contest as well.
- 40:14Speaker 1: Let's move to the Jacksonville Jaguars at the Cincinnati Bengals.
- 40:19Speaker 1: Bengals laying two and a half total sky high, 51
- 40:22Speaker 1: and a half. This is the game of the week. Two,
- 40:25Speaker 1: two and one teams elite. If I can be a
- 40:28Speaker 1: complete casual for a moment, this is the color contrast
- 40:32Speaker 1: game of the week. We've got that nice, that nice
- 40:35Speaker 1: teal against a nice bright orange elite stuff on the
- 40:39Speaker 1: TV screen. two former number one picks at quarterback. We've
- 40:43Speaker 1: got Travis Hunter potentially matched up with Jamar chase Kendra.
- 40:47Speaker 1: I love this game. This game is fascinating. I have
- 40:50Speaker 1: already bet this on one side. I will wait to
- 40:52Speaker 1: reveal that to see if anybody else is with me
- 40:57Speaker 1: before making my case.
- 40:59Speaker 3: I'm going to veto it because I don't even care
- 41:02Speaker 3: because you want to know the only AFC team that
- 41:05Speaker 3: Trevor Lawrence has never beaten.
- 41:07Speaker 4: Well, Spoiler alert, the Bengals.
- 41:10Speaker 2: That would be the Cincinnati Bengals.
- 41:12Speaker 3: I want absolutely nothing to do with this game. For
- 41:14Speaker 3: some reason, it is a hump that Trevor Lawrence cannot
- 41:17Speaker 3: get over, even with a backup quarterback, as we witnessed
- 41:19Speaker 3: last year.
- 41:20Speaker 2: I don't know what it is about the magic voodoo
- 41:21Speaker 2: of this team. He can't beat them. I don't want
- 41:24Speaker 2: anything to do with it.
- 41:25Speaker 4: Yeah, I like Cincinnati here.
- 41:26Speaker 6: I'm not going to nominate it because I don't want
- 41:29Speaker 6: to have to deal with one of our esteemed hosts
- 41:31Speaker 6: giving me crap for the next.
- 41:33Speaker 4: Three days or four days if Jacksonville actually goes and
- 41:36Speaker 4: wins this game.
- 41:37Speaker 6: I just think it's a good spot to get in
- 41:40Speaker 6: on Cincinnati after a tough loss in Pittsburgh.
- 41:44Speaker 4: They've looked pretty sound at home. Burrow still humming on offense.
- 41:49Speaker 6: Like I know they ended up losing that game and
- 41:50Speaker 6: it got wonky in the fourth quarter and they had
- 41:52Speaker 6: no answers for Rodgers. That to me was such a
- 41:55Speaker 6: great stealer spot. I'm not going to crabby read too
- 41:59Speaker 6: much into Cincinnati, who I'm still very, very much a
- 42:02Speaker 6: believer in throughout the course this year. I think both these.
- 42:05Speaker 4: Teams are going to the playoffs for what it's worth.
- 42:07Speaker 4: I'm on Cincinnati. Big day for Burrow.
- 42:09Speaker 6: Let me see Campanelli's blitzing defense have answers for Chase, Higgins, etc.
- 42:15Speaker 4: I'm on Cincinnati lane two and a half. Sorry, Kendra.
- 42:17Speaker 1: So I like the Jags plus the two and a
- 42:21Speaker 1: half here, and I'll make my case for it. It
- 42:24Speaker 1: sounds like it's not going to make it to the
- 42:26Speaker 1: finish line here, but kind of like the Colts and
- 42:29Speaker 1: the Commanders, but an enhanced elite version. I think these
- 42:33Speaker 1: two teams are.
- 42:36Speaker 1: Almost the same. I would put the Jags a slight
- 42:38Speaker 1: tick ahead, which makes the home field advantage. Essentially, I
- 42:44Speaker 1: think this game should be a pick as well. And
- 42:45Speaker 1: I get that we're selling our Pat stock right now,
- 42:47Speaker 1: but their defense had a really strong start to the season.
- 42:50Speaker 1: Elite levels of strong through the first two weeks. And
- 42:53Speaker 1: the Jags went through them like a knife through butter.
- 42:56Speaker 1: Not every game a team plays or wins ups their
- 43:00Speaker 1: overall rating. That win last week for the Jags absolutely does.
- 43:04Speaker 1: And I think that this line is under-adjusted and under-accounting
- 43:08Speaker 1: for the fact that in a sea of decent teams
- 43:12Speaker 1: in the NFL, the Jags are near elite. The look
- 43:14Speaker 1: ahead on this line was exactly what it is right
- 43:17Speaker 1: now at two and a half. I think that the
- 43:21Speaker 1: Jags are worth an adjustment. Basil Tootin has to have
- 43:24Speaker 1: a good game. Jalen Warren really opened things up for
- 43:26Speaker 1: Aaron Rodgers. But I think Trevor Lawrence can have a
- 43:29Speaker 1: really good game against this defense that, through the first
- 43:32Speaker 1: couple of weeks, clearly overperformed. And Joe Burrow, not a
- 43:36Speaker 1: sure thing after a win. This is an Evan Abrams
- 43:38Speaker 1: trend stat. 12 games at home off of a straight-up loss.
- 43:43Speaker 1: 5-6-1 against the spread in the very next game.
- 43:45Speaker 4: Not great. Good news for Kendra and her Jaguars.
- 43:48Speaker 2: Go ahead, Kendra.
- 43:50Speaker 4: No, no, you first.
- 43:50Speaker 2: No, no.
- 43:51Speaker 4: I just think, too, to push back a little bit,
- 43:55Speaker 4: I'm not like selling Bengals stock after last week.
- 43:58Speaker 6: That's a division game. That's a tough spot after the
- 44:01Speaker 6: Steelers got embarrassed. They did come back against Pittsburgh. I
- 44:06Speaker 6: know Rodgers torched them, and now the narratives are Cincinnati's defense.
- 44:11Speaker 4: It's exactly what we thought it was. Same old Bengals.
- 44:14Speaker 4: And the Jaguars, I just feel like it's a zigzag
- 44:17Speaker 4: type of game. Crappy.
- 44:18Speaker 6: That's why I think Cincinnati at home, I think, is
- 44:21Speaker 6: a good bounce back candidate.
- 44:22Speaker 1: I try not to just fall into the zigzag trap
- 44:24Speaker 1: because it's so easy to do that in the NFL.
- 44:27Speaker 1: Sometimes teams just simply go on heaters and I don't
- 44:31Speaker 1: think the market has completely caught up. to just how
- 44:35Speaker 1: good this Jacksonville Jaguars team is. The game in Denver
- 44:38Speaker 1: was a tough spot for them. They played well in
- 44:40Speaker 1: that game.
- 44:40Speaker 4: So that's a great point.
- 44:41Speaker 1: And they did.
- 44:41Speaker 4: They played really well.
- 44:42Speaker 6: I had Denver in that game. They played their asses
- 44:45Speaker 6: off in that game. Little missed a kick. A couple
- 44:47Speaker 6: of things went against them.
- 44:48Speaker 4: That was not one of those games where I watched
- 44:49Speaker 4: them and said, oh boy, this is, they're not, like,
- 44:52Speaker 4: that was a good, if there's such thing as a
- 44:54Speaker 4: good loss, it was like a good competitive.
- 44:56Speaker 1: Loss, if that makes sense. Yeah, they had a 10-point
- 44:58Speaker 1: lead at one point.
- 44:59Speaker 2: Can I sweeten the deal for everyone? Always.
- 45:02Speaker 6: Always.
- 45:03Speaker 3: I think that the best play in this game is
- 45:06Speaker 3: Josh Cameron for an anytime touchdown plus 750.
- 45:11Speaker 2: I'm not even kidding.
- 45:12Speaker 3: If there were reception props available for him, I would
- 45:14Speaker 3: smash the over on them. I can't find any. If
- 45:16Speaker 3: you do, please hit me up. I would love to
- 45:19Speaker 3: find one. But he is the sneakiest guy on this
- 45:22Speaker 3: offense right now. He's getting all of BTJ's reps pretty much.
- 45:25Speaker 3: Trevor trusts him, doesn't trust BTJ. So any of those
- 45:29Speaker 3: shots that he was going to get in the end zone,
- 45:30Speaker 3: I think.
- 45:31Speaker 2: Josh Cameron eats up.
- 45:33Speaker 3: Before people figure him out to defenses, you know, people
- 45:36Speaker 3: betting all of those things, get in on the Josh
- 45:38Speaker 3: Cameron stock while you can.
- 45:40Speaker 2: And while it's still there, because people are starting to.
- 45:43Speaker 3: Figure out Parker Washington, Jacoby can't have another good week
- 45:46Speaker 3: after having a week like last week, you have to
- 45:47Speaker 3: respect him as well. I don't think people respect BTJ anymore.
- 45:51Speaker 3: So they're going to have to move all their coverage
- 45:52Speaker 3: to those two guys that frees up Josh Cameron. I
- 45:55Speaker 3: don't think that the tight end, you know, heavy sets
- 45:56Speaker 3: are as popular with Liam Cohen in that offense right
- 45:59Speaker 3: now as they were last season.
- 46:01Speaker 2: So get in on Josh while you can.
- 46:03Speaker 1: I don't push back on Kendra giving out Jags anytime touchdown.
- 46:05Speaker 1: So it's just not a world that you want to
- 46:07Speaker 1: live in. I love it.
- 46:08Speaker 4: Throwing in the parlay on Sunday.
- 46:09Speaker 5: Yes.
- 46:10Speaker 4: Yes, man.
- 46:10Speaker 1: All right. I'm not going to officially nominate this because
- 46:13Speaker 1: it sounds like it's going to get vetoed. And I
- 46:15Speaker 1: have other picks that are way more gross than the Jags.
- 46:18Speaker 1: Let's get across. The Jags are lovely.
- 46:21Speaker 5: All right.
- 46:21Speaker 1: Let's go to the Cowboys and the Texans. Texans laying
- 46:23Speaker 1: three at home in the battle for the Lone Star State.
- 46:28Speaker 1: Owen three start for the Texans. No problem for them.
- 46:31Speaker 1: The last two teams to make the playoffs at Owen
- 46:33Speaker 1: three were the Houston Texans. So I guess they're kind
- 46:35Speaker 1: of right on track with what they typically do. Cowboys
- 46:38Speaker 1: flying back from Brazil. So maybe we've got another travel
- 46:41Speaker 1: fade spot here with Dallas. The Cowboys did just make
- 46:45Speaker 1: a trade for Joey Porter Jr. Who miraculously is going
- 46:48Speaker 1: to be healthy enough to play in this game. It
- 46:50Speaker 1: looks like we don't know that for sure yet. Questionable
- 46:53Speaker 1: defense versus a suspect offense. This is a really tough
- 46:56Speaker 1: one to pick here, folks.
- 46:58Speaker 3: Okay, I am going to nominate, I kind of gave
- 47:01Speaker 3: a spoiler in our notes, but I'm going to nominate
- 47:04Speaker 3: Houston only because I have to say they can't go 0-4,
- 47:09Speaker 3: but this is a bet IR opportunity if they don't
- 47:15Speaker 3: cover this game. I once again, I'm fading the travel. I,
- 47:19Speaker 3: or I'm betting against the travel. I just can't assume
- 47:22Speaker 3: that anybody after.
- 47:23Speaker 2: Traveling that long.
- 47:24Speaker 3: And you know what, can we talk about how this
- 47:26Speaker 3: is low-key sneaky, a rivalry like this, like the Texas
- 47:29Speaker 3: thing is weird. Like this is kind of a rivalry game.
- 47:32Speaker 3: Like I know that one's NFC and one's AFC, but
- 47:34Speaker 3: like Texans low-key kind of hate each other.
- 47:37Speaker 4: Well, cause there's a little bit of like an inferiority
- 47:39Speaker 4: thing for the Texans because you know, the Cowboys are
- 47:41Speaker 4: America's team. The Cowboys were there first. We lost the Oilers. Now,
- 47:45Speaker 4: all of a sudden, we have an expansion team. I'm
- 47:47Speaker 4: with that. And here's the problem, guys. I bet the Texans. No, no, no, no, no, no.
- 47:52Speaker 6: Kendra, I think you're spot on. I like the Texans
- 47:54Speaker 6: in the game. Like, if you're telling me right now,
- 47:55Speaker 6: I got to bet the game. I think Houston's defense
- 47:58Speaker 6: at home. Are they going to start 0-3 at home?
- 48:00Speaker 6: Are the Cowboys going to be able to block them?
- 48:02Speaker 6: I have a lot of questions. But here's the issue, Krabby.
- 48:06Speaker 6: You hit on it, and that's why I'm kind of
- 48:08Speaker 6: teeing you up this way. Their offense, without Nico Collins...
- 48:13Speaker 6: is that as the kids like to say, Basura, it
- 48:16Speaker 6: is absolutely atrocious.
- 48:19Speaker 4: It was atrocious against Indy last week. They couldn't do anything.
- 48:23Speaker 6: As far as scoring touchdowns against the Bengals when I
- 48:25Speaker 6: was on them two weeks ago.
- 48:27Speaker 4: The line has moved from two and a half to three.
- 48:29Speaker 4: I think it's the right side of the game.
- 48:30Speaker 6: I just know if we take the Texans, I'm going
- 48:34Speaker 6: to be cursing out their entire offense for four quarters.
- 48:36Speaker 4: So I just want that on record.
- 48:38Speaker 2: But the Cowboys defense sucks.
- 48:40Speaker 4: If you can't get right against them, you're not getting
- 48:42Speaker 4: right against anybody. Brilliant point.
- 48:43Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Like the Cowboys defense is terrible.
- 48:46Speaker 3: Is JPJ going to play this quickly?
- 48:48Speaker 1: Yeah, he's fine. I think he'll play partially.
- 48:54Speaker 6: It's more a scheme fit thing. Is it going to
- 48:56Speaker 6: take him a week or two to get comfortable in
- 48:57Speaker 6: the defense? That'd be my question.
- 48:59Speaker 2: Thank you. I don't believe that the back injury ever existed.
- 49:02Speaker 3: It's more so can he in under five days go
- 49:05Speaker 3: out there and play.
- 49:06Speaker 2: A game for this team?
- 49:08Speaker 1: I don't think even if he does it, that's not
- 49:10Speaker 1: I wouldn't factor that into the handicap of it all.
- 49:14Speaker 3: The Texans, this good of a Houston Texans team, and
- 49:17Speaker 3: I know they are injured, cannot go.
- 49:20Speaker 4: 0-4.
- 49:21Speaker 3: I get that the Cowboys offense is awesome, but it's
- 49:23Speaker 3: more so me fading the defense and just saying this team,
- 49:27Speaker 3: this caliber, this isn't like a Patriots situation where they're
- 49:30Speaker 3: injured and their quarterback is struggling. CJ Stroud, I put
- 49:33Speaker 3: in our notes, I have him to throw a pick
- 49:35Speaker 3: minus 110 just because he hasn't thrown a pick all
- 49:37Speaker 3: season either. You're not going to survive this long without
- 49:39Speaker 3: doing so. I get that the Dallas defense sucks, but
- 49:42Speaker 3: It's more so me just statistically saying you're not going
- 49:45Speaker 3: to get through four weeks, CJ Stroud, without throwing an interception.
- 49:48Speaker 3: I just, I get that I'm contradicting myself a little
- 49:51Speaker 3: here with both these.
- 49:52Speaker 2: Picks, but both of these things can happen.
- 49:55Speaker 4: Guys, isn't the.
- 49:56Speaker 6: Public going to be all over Dallas getting points in
- 49:58Speaker 6: this game too?
- 50:00Speaker 1: If I'm reading this correctly, it's about 78% on Dallas.
- 50:04Speaker 4: Oh, yeah. It makes me like Houston even more.
- 50:06Speaker 3: Because every child in Rio de Janeiro threw out their
- 50:10Speaker 3: soccer balls for footballs after watching that game last week. Like,
- 50:13Speaker 3: I swear to God, that's what happened. I'm all over
- 50:15Speaker 3: Houston this week.
- 50:16Speaker 2: I hate to say it. It's icky. I hate them.
- 50:18Speaker 2: They're bad, but they're not going to go.
- 50:20Speaker 4: Let's get icky. Come on.
- 50:22Speaker 1: I think that's the kind of icky I can endorse.
- 50:26Speaker 1: I think it's probably two and a half in the
- 50:28Speaker 1: contest is my guess. The line has moved to three,
- 50:31Speaker 1: but the contest lines tend to lock earlier in the week.
- 50:34Speaker 1: We like that.
- 50:35Speaker 4: That's good advice.
- 50:36Speaker 1: We want that. That is an absolute positive. Texans minus
- 50:39Speaker 1: two and a half unless I get confirmation that it
- 50:42Speaker 1: has gone bigger. That will be in the contest.
- 50:46Speaker 2: Let's get icky.
- 50:48Speaker 1: Let's get icky. Talk about icky. We don't need to
- 50:52Speaker 1: spend a lot of time on this. Cardinals Giants. Giants
- 50:54Speaker 1: plus two and a half at home. Total at 44
- 50:57Speaker 1: and a half. We have a West Coast team flying east.
- 50:59Speaker 1: 10 a.m. Body clock for the Arizona Cardinals. The Giants
- 51:04Speaker 1: have a chance to advance to three and one with
- 51:07Speaker 1: a win in this game, which is wild given their
- 51:10Speaker 1: current state. No Brian Burns for the year. New York
- 51:12Speaker 1: was held to two of their three or has held
- 51:17Speaker 1: two of their three opponents to under 21 points. So
- 51:21Speaker 1: Something's going right for New York. This is what we
- 51:23Speaker 1: expected going into the season is the respectability of the
- 51:28Speaker 1: New York Giants has been restored with John Harbaugh.
- 51:31Speaker 2: Oh, for sure.
- 51:32Speaker 1: But we do like our Redbirds on this show. I
- 51:35Speaker 1: don't want to touch this game. See, here's the thing
- 51:39Speaker 1: with the Redbirds. You like the Redbirds when you get
- 51:42Speaker 1: an eight and a half. You like the Redbirds when
- 51:44Speaker 1: you get 10. You don't like the Redbirds when you
- 51:47Speaker 1: lay in points.
- 51:47Speaker 4: No, no, no.
- 51:49Speaker 1: I'm not betting this game. I want to be very clear.
- 51:51Speaker 1: This is a no play. There's so many games I like.
- 51:54Speaker 2: I have a question. Is this going to be Jameis
- 51:56Speaker 2: or JJ?
- 51:57Speaker 6: It's going to be Jameis at least for the next
- 51:59Speaker 6: couple weeks, Kendra. It's going to take time to get
- 52:02Speaker 6: my namesake. acclimated with the Nagy, Roman, Callahan system.
- 52:08Speaker 2: It's not like Jameis is up to.
- 52:11Speaker 4: Date on it either.
- 52:12Speaker 5: No, no, no.
- 52:12Speaker 6: Listen, Kendra, he's been awful, and he looks like a
- 52:14Speaker 6: guy who wants to go and do media and kind
- 52:17Speaker 6: of looks shocked by the idea that he now has
- 52:20Speaker 6: to be the quarterback.
- 52:21Speaker 4: Of a team.
- 52:22Speaker 6: He's looked awful. I'm not defending him. But let's, like,
- 52:25Speaker 6: analyze this. He comes into that Ram game, awful spot.
- 52:28Speaker 6: Game plan for Dart, Monday night, on the road, one
- 52:31Speaker 6: of the best teams in the league, was not going
- 52:33Speaker 6: to play well. A week ago, as crummy as the
- 52:36Speaker 6: Titans are, the nor'easter in New York and all across
- 52:41Speaker 6: the East Coast, it was, thankfully I was in Tennessee,
- 52:44Speaker 6: so I didn't have to deal with it.
- 52:46Speaker 4: It was miserable. Wind, rain, like not set up for success.
- 52:50Speaker 6: If Jameis Winston can't go and move the football against
- 52:53Speaker 6: the Cardinals this week, then I think that countdown for
- 52:56Speaker 6: McCarthy starts as soon as the next week or the following.
- 52:58Speaker 4: Week, and it's accelerated.
- 53:00Speaker 6: But in theory, gang, this should be a spot where
- 53:03Speaker 6: Jameis can go and put up some points.
- 53:05Speaker 4: And the reason I would.
- 53:06Speaker 6: Make the case for the Giants, I'm not betting it,
- 53:08Speaker 6: but if I had to play a side in the game,
- 53:10Speaker 6: I'd play the Giants. That respectability factor with Harbaugh, where
- 53:14Speaker 6: the team is just finding ways to win, where in
- 53:18Speaker 6: years past they did nothing but lose.
- 53:21Speaker 4: I think coaching would end up being the difference. I
- 53:23Speaker 4: know that's a weird handicap on the game.
- 53:25Speaker 6: Arizona, I get being favored because the Giants offense is brutal.
- 53:30Speaker 4: Giants would pass for me.
- 53:31Speaker 2: I'll tell you this.
- 53:33Speaker 3: If the Cardinals were a smidge healthier, literally just if
- 53:38Speaker 3: one of those running backs was healthier or one of
- 53:40Speaker 3: their defensive tackles, I would be all over the Cardinals
- 53:44Speaker 3: in this spot. I'm telling you that now.
- 53:47Speaker 1: I am with JJ. If I had to play this game, Thankfully,
- 53:51Speaker 1: I have some composure. I don't have Kendra Middleton levels
- 53:55Speaker 1: of composure, but I do cap myself at some point.
- 53:58Speaker 1: If I needed another play in my life, I would
- 54:02Speaker 1: take the Giants out. I would actually take them on
- 54:04Speaker 1: the money line. They're either going to win this game
- 54:06Speaker 1: or they're going to embarrass themselves.
- 54:08Speaker 4: Lose by 10. Yeah, correct.
- 54:10Speaker 1: You don't need to win a half.
- 54:11Speaker 4: Normally, I say when it down, take the points. This
- 54:13Speaker 4: is not a game you need to take the points.
- 54:15Speaker 1: This is a strength on strength. Arizona's offense is clearly
- 54:19Speaker 1: superior to the Giants, but the Giants' defense is clearly superior,
- 54:23Speaker 1: and it's the strength of the team right now. And
- 54:25Speaker 1: I think they're still going to be able to get
- 54:27Speaker 1: after the passer. It's one thing with Brian Burns going down.
- 54:30Speaker 4: They've got to do a better job of that, though, Cravey.
- 54:32Speaker 1: They've got the talent to do it. I don't worry
- 54:34Speaker 1: about that.
- 54:35Speaker 6: They're not getting sacks, though. And now Burns is out
- 54:37Speaker 6: of the equation. So that means Carter, Thibodeau, time to
- 54:41Speaker 6: wake up.
- 54:42Speaker 4: Let's go.
- 54:43Speaker 1: All right, we'll leave that one off to the side. Rams, Eagles,
- 54:46Speaker 1: Eagles plus three at home total sitting at 43 and
- 54:49Speaker 1: a half. Both rebound candidates here, both in prime time,
- 54:52Speaker 1: which makes it extra unique. The Rams seem to be
- 54:56Speaker 1: getting Puka Nakua back. Eagles defense, a little wobbly right now,
- 54:59Speaker 1: 27 points allowed to the Chicago Bears. They made Cam
- 55:03Speaker 1: Ward look competent. When we look back a couple of weeks,
- 55:06Speaker 1: 22nd and pass EPA this year, there's way too much
- 55:09Speaker 1: talent on that side of the ball for them to
- 55:12Speaker 1: be putting up numbers like this and allowing other offenses
- 55:14Speaker 1: to thrive. the way that they are. With that said,
- 55:17Speaker 1: I'm buying the Eagles at rock bottom right here. I
- 55:20Speaker 1: like the Eagles plus three. That's an official nomination for me.
- 55:23Speaker 4: Well, I'm going to hold on a second. I want
- 55:25Speaker 4: to nominate and I want to go the other way here.
- 55:27Speaker 4: Me too.
- 55:28Speaker 2: Me too.
- 55:30Speaker 6: Krabby, I hate to do it to you, pal. I
- 55:31Speaker 6: love the Rams in this spot. McVay has not had
- 55:34Speaker 6: a problem going to the East Coast. You mentioned the
- 55:37Speaker 6: coup is coming back. The Eagle offense stinks. It is awful, dude.
- 55:44Speaker 6: It was awful in week one against the Commanders. It
- 55:47Speaker 6: was awful in week two against the Crummy Titans. We
- 55:50Speaker 6: all watched it. And normally, these teams that stink in
- 55:53Speaker 6: prime time, I want to take them the next week.
- 55:55Speaker 6: The problem is the Rams are coming off a game.
- 55:57Speaker 6: They just yunked up to the Denver Broncos. I need
- 56:01Speaker 6: to see from the Eagles.
- 56:01Speaker 2: Crabbits.
- 56:03Speaker 4: We have this line at what?
- 56:05Speaker 3: Three. Yep.
- 56:07Speaker 2: Two and a half in our contest, which is even better.
- 56:09Speaker 6: No, we can't.
- 56:10Speaker 1: Two and a half. We can't.
- 56:12Speaker 2: Kravitz, you need to buy out of that.
- 56:14Speaker 3: Devonta Smith was staring his ass to hell the other day.
- 56:19Speaker 2: Are you kidding me?
- 56:21Speaker 3: Freaking no. Jalen Hurts is bad. He's losing his mind
- 56:24Speaker 3: on the sidelines. Bad coaching. Sirianni's seat is so hot.
- 56:30Speaker 3: Oh my God, Kravitz, buy out of that.
- 56:33Speaker 1: So I wish Puka Nakua was still out, okay, because
- 56:35Speaker 1: I bet this earlier in the week. The line hasn't
- 56:37Speaker 1: budged that much since the news came in, so that
- 56:41Speaker 1: should give Eagles backers like myself a little bit of
- 56:43Speaker 1: confidence that it didn't... shape the line all that much.
- 56:46Speaker 1: Maybe it was already expected that he would be back in,
- 56:49Speaker 1: in the lineup. I would like this considerably more if
- 56:52Speaker 1: he didn't play, but this sets up as a strong
- 56:54Speaker 1: bounce back spot. And there's this, okay. You love your travel.
- 56:58Speaker 1: Is there any team in the NFL that has logged
- 57:02Speaker 1: more miles in the air than the LA Rams? They
- 57:06Speaker 1: already did the Australia trip. Now they're going from LA
- 57:09Speaker 1: to Philadelphia for a 1 PM kick. In a buy low,
- 57:14Speaker 1: everybody hates the Eagles spot. This is when you bet Philly.
- 57:18Speaker 3: Matt Stafford doesn't care about the East Coast road trips.
- 57:21Speaker 4: And the coaching, the coaching. That's the other thing.
- 57:24Speaker 1: It's not just the East Coast. This is an accumulation.
- 57:27Speaker 1: We're only four weeks into the season. They're doing across
- 57:30Speaker 1: the country and from Australia to LA. It's too much.
- 57:34Speaker 1: This is going to catch up to them.
- 57:35Speaker 4: You can throw a Denver flight in there too. Um,
- 57:38Speaker 4: I just need to see from.
- 57:39Speaker 1: The, and off of, and off of mile high, which
- 57:41Speaker 1: is the stats of games off of when you go
- 57:44Speaker 1: from Denver off of Denver, those teams are Evan. Uh,
- 57:48Speaker 1: there's a, there's a great stat on this. I would
- 57:50Speaker 1: love to be able to quote it with perfection here.
- 57:52Speaker 1: It's like seven and 24, something ATS after you play
- 57:56Speaker 1: in mile high, Evan, do you have that number offhand
- 57:59Speaker 1: for the, after Denver trip?
- 58:02Speaker 7: Yeah, looking at the primer right now, after looking at
- 58:06Speaker 7: my notes, and yeah, so it hurts even Denver. Usually
- 58:10Speaker 7: the stat that everyone talks about is road teams in Denver,
- 58:13Speaker 7: then leaving Denver. I thought it was interesting enough that
- 58:16Speaker 7: it even hurts Denver themselves since 2020. Denver is 11-20
- 58:19Speaker 7: straight up in 12-19 ATS, going on the road after
- 58:23Speaker 7: a home game.
- 58:24Speaker 4: So I think even it can impact them.
- 58:26Speaker 3: I have other plays, but just know, once again... I
- 58:32Speaker 3: think you're crazy.
- 58:33Speaker 4: All right. So I think in the spirit of fairness here,
- 58:37Speaker 4: it is not included because we have split nominations. Is
- 58:41Speaker 4: that fair, Kendra?
- 58:42Speaker 2: I'm fine with it.
- 58:44Speaker 4: Moving on.
- 58:45Speaker 1: All right. I hate you guys.
- 58:47Speaker 7: I will say this. I will say this. On the
- 58:49Speaker 7: pod I do with Stuck and Doug here, this was
- 58:52Speaker 7: my best bet. So I actually really like the Broncos.
- 58:55Speaker 7: I took them at plus three.
- 58:56Speaker 1: Wait, wait, wait. You said Broncos. Are you with me
- 59:00Speaker 1: or against me? Broncos and honors game. I'm on the Broncos.
- 59:03Speaker 4: Oh, okay. Well, good.
- 59:04Speaker 5: Me too.
- 59:04Speaker 4: We'll talk about that later, but we're not talking.
- 59:10Speaker 2: About the Broncos.
- 59:10Speaker 4: No, I know.
- 59:11Speaker 1: I'm just saying. So, Evan, would you, like we did
- 59:15Speaker 1: last season, if you were to break the tie, would
- 59:17Speaker 1: you be on Philadelphia or L.A.? L.A.
- 59:21Speaker 2: Yes!
- 59:21Speaker 1: All right, never mind. My God! You just got Abrams'd!
- 59:27Speaker 1: Go back in your hole, Evan.
- 59:28Speaker 6: By the way, Kendra, just be prepared for insufferable text
- 59:31Speaker 6: from our guy, Brandon.
- 59:32Speaker 4: Oh, yeah. If the Eagles are up like 20 to
- 59:34Speaker 4: 10 in the third quarter.
- 59:35Speaker 2: And then they can't score for the last two quarters
- 59:37Speaker 2: and the Rams come back.
- 59:39Speaker 1: The bird gifts that you guys are going to get.
- 59:41Speaker 6: I do have to say, though, this game's a little
- 59:44Speaker 6: personal for me.
- 59:45Speaker 4: And I'm going to tell you why. You guys remember
- 59:49Speaker 4: last year, Rams-Eagles?
- 59:50Speaker 5: Yes.
- 59:53Speaker 1: Oh, yes. Yes. That was the block. Worst speed of
- 59:57Speaker 1: the year. Because the Rams were going to cover. The
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: game was over. And then the Eagles blocked the field goal.
- 1:00:03Speaker 6: Blocked the stupid field goal and returned it for a
- 1:00:05Speaker 6: freaking touchdown.
- 1:00:08Speaker 4: That was not worse for me. No way.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: That was bad. That was really bad.
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: No, last year's worst one was the Raiders when Kravitz
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: didn't know.
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: That he was wrong about the game.
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: Well, yeah, but that was a good, but that was
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: the opposite of a bad beat. That was a good
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: beat because I won. I didn't know. I had already
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: counted the loss, but Pete Carroll kicked a field goal
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: down by 10 with no time left. Oh, I remember that.
- 1:00:29Speaker 4: That was great. I had the Raiders too. That was great. See,
- 1:00:31Speaker 4: we don't remember those. We remember the ones we lose.
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: Clearly.
- 1:00:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: Packers bucks, bucks plus three and a half total at
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: 38 and a half. It's the battle of the bays
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: and easily the ugliest game on the card. Listen to
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: some of these stats. The Packers are averaging 48.7 rush
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: yards per game. That is. by far dead last in
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: the NFL. The Buccaneers minus five in the turnover margin,
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: second worst only to the Atlanta Falcons and have allowed
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: a league high 13 sacks to their quarterback. Both teams,
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: bottom five and third down conversion rate. Both teams, bottom
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: six and red zone scoring. And on top of that,
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: neither the Bucs or the Packers have won a game
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: against the spread since week 14 of last season. So
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: what in the war and Jalen Daniels is starting a
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: quarterback for the buck. So what in the world are
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: you supposed to do with this game? Anybody touching it?
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: Can I just say.
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: The Jalen Jaden Daniels thing is really about to mess
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: me up because I can be so dumb sometimes that
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: I know I'm just going.
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: To let it slip.
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: I want nothing to do with this. I don't believe
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: in either teams. Even if Baker was healthy, I wouldn't
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: want anything to do with this. The Packers are so
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: injured and the Bucks are relatively healthy other than the quarterback.
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: So I just don't even know how you begin to
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: handicap this.
- 1:01:53Speaker 6: I have bust PTSD from taking them last week against
- 1:01:56Speaker 6: the Vikings, which was incredibly.
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: It sounds like our, it sounds like our card was
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: eerily similar last week.
- 1:02:02Speaker 6: Great minds think alike or, or the opposite. Take that whatever,
- 1:02:06Speaker 6: which way you'd like. Here's the, here's the problem. There's
- 1:02:11Speaker 6: no way in the world. I'm laying points with the Packers.
- 1:02:13Speaker 6: I mean, they've just looked dreadful. They were dreadful against
- 1:02:16Speaker 6: the Vikings, yucking up the lead, the jet game. They
- 1:02:18Speaker 6: were incredibly fortunate. And we all saw them last week,
- 1:02:21Speaker 6: Thursday night. But extra time to prepare. The Bucs with
- 1:02:25Speaker 6: a backup quarterback. And the Bucs kind of have the look, gang,
- 1:02:29Speaker 6: of a team that is going to blow it TF
- 1:02:32Speaker 6: up at the end of this season.
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: Yes, they have to. Todd Bowles laughing while Baker was screaming.
- 1:02:37Speaker 6: Kendra, they just did Baker Mayfield this huge contract extension,
- 1:02:41Speaker 6: which looks very regrettable. And Todd Bowles, listen, nice man,
- 1:02:46Speaker 6: should have been fired last year. They choked the division away.
- 1:02:49Speaker 6: The way that all took place. Now, they missed Liam Cohen, clearly,
- 1:02:53Speaker 6: with that offense. But the Todd Bulls era needs to
- 1:02:56Speaker 6: come to an end. I'm not taking the points with Tampa.
- 1:02:59Speaker 6: It's Green Bay or pass for me, if you're playing
- 1:03:00Speaker 6: a game.
- 1:03:01Speaker 4: Agreed.
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: I look at it the other way. I think it's
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: Bucs or pass. But, I mean, they.
- 1:03:07Speaker 4: I think that's the best way to describe it, Kravie.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it's just.
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: We don't need to waste any more time on this.
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: Do you really want your dollars locked up on this?
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: No.
- 1:03:18Speaker 4: No, we don't.
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: Four o'clocks. Let's go to the Dolphins.
- 1:03:21Speaker 4: Good four o'clock window, by the way. Very good four
- 1:03:24Speaker 4: o'clock window. Except for one game, of course.
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: Dolphins-Vikings. Vikings slaying ten and a half.
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: We can just move on.
- 1:03:31Speaker 6: Well, I was going to say, there's a case to
- 1:03:33Speaker 6: be made for Minnesota absolutely blittering the Dolphins. Because remember,
- 1:03:36Speaker 6: Brian Flores, coaching up against his former team, you want
- 1:03:40Speaker 6: to talk about a guy who is incredibly spiteful, and
- 1:03:43Speaker 6: is going to, as they said in Remember the Titans,
- 1:03:46Speaker 6: leave no doubt, that defense is going to be blitzing.
- 1:03:50Speaker 4: All day and all night.
- 1:03:53Speaker 6: Even though the Miami offensive line actually played well against
- 1:03:58Speaker 6: Against Kansas City last week.
- 1:03:59Speaker 4: H & M done for the year.
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: Cravey, sorry.
- 1:04:02Speaker 4: 0-17 is on the table. It's Vikings who pass.
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: I mean, you're a Dolphins fan. You don't need to
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: apologize to me. You get it. We get it. It
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: is what it is this year. This is not a,
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: this is not a season where you need to really
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: focus on the squad. Just kind of get through it.
- 1:04:18Speaker 4: And you don't have to get emotionally invested. It's kind
- 1:04:20Speaker 4: of nice.
- 1:04:21Speaker 6: They don't ruin Sundays anymore. You know how nice it
- 1:04:23Speaker 6: is to not have my Sunday absolutely ruined by my
- 1:04:26Speaker 6: crummy football team. Now it's like, okay, we're moving on.
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: I'm a Jaguars fan. Of course I do.
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: I'm Scott Hanson's adopted son. Now at this point, we're just,
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: it's me in the red zone channel. Um, I do
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: think that if this is minus 10 in the contest, I,
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: I think the Vikings would be worth a nomination, but anyway.
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: Gordon, anytime.
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:04:49Speaker 4: I like it. Like it.
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: All they have to do is get near the end zone,
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: which is not going to be easy. Chiefs Raiders Raiders
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: plus four and a half total of 47 and a half.
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: Fun fact for you guys. This is the 135th meeting
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: between these two teams. They've never met at 3-0 in
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: their entire history. So some history to be made on Sunday.
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: Mahomes is 12-2 straight up against the Raiders in his career.
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: But this isn't about winning. This is about covering. Who
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: do we like? Kendra?
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: I would like to nominate the Kansas City Chiefs to
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: give the Las Vegas Raiders their come-to-Jesus moment.
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: You're not going to be on the Raiders in this game.
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: Are you serious?
- 1:05:32Speaker 6: Yes.
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: Patrick beats their ass. Okay, fine.
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: I already bet the Raiders. I love the Raiders this week.
- 1:05:41Speaker 4: Oh, my God.
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: Line's too fat. I get the come to Jesus thing
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: very well could happen, and you can throw it in
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: my face on Monday if that's exactly the way that
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: this plays out. I think this line is too fat.
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: I think this should be a field goal. The four
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: and a half does not make sense to me. This
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: Raiders team is legit. And the chiefs, the chiefs have
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: a little, the chiefs have a little bit of fraud
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: in them. And I'll go over that in a minute,
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: but they, just because they're the chiefs, let's not just
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: assume this is all real. Okay. So let me dig
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: into my notes here.
- 1:06:15Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: So the Chiefs let the Dolphins go eight for 16
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: on third down. And they did that without Devon Achan
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: for the majority of the game. They let the Colts,
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: who I think kind of stink, run up and down
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: the field on them the week prior. The Colts, in fact,
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: should have won that game. They had to settle for
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: a field goal in overtime. I mean, did you see
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: their offense against Houston? The Colts are not that good.
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: And they went through the Chiefs like Swiss cheese. I
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: think the Chiefs are overperforming as much as anything. This
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: should be a field goal game. And on top of it,
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: while the Raiders, I think, perceptually have overperformed, they just
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: got Brock Bowers back. That guy is a matchup.
- 1:07:00Speaker 4: Unguardable.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: Unguardable.
- 1:07:01Speaker 4: Unguardable game last week. I had the Saints against the Raiders.
- 1:07:06Speaker 6: So maybe this is coming from a place of being
- 1:07:09Speaker 6: wowed because I was wowed in the game. The Raiders
- 1:07:12Speaker 6: offensive line is playing really well. You got Jente cooking.
- 1:07:15Speaker 6: You got Bowers now back in the mix. Kirk Cousins
- 1:07:18Speaker 6: looks the best he has looked in years.
- 1:07:23Speaker 4: Years, for goodness sakes. He hasn't looked this good since
- 1:07:26Speaker 4: he was with the Minnesota Vikings. And Kobe Dean, I
- 1:07:29Speaker 4: feel like, makes a play every single week. Four and
- 1:07:32Speaker 4: a half points. Kubiak. This game means so much to
- 1:07:36Speaker 4: the Raiders gang. Like as far as.
- 1:07:38Speaker 6: National stage, they're sending Nance and JJ Watt there. Lines
- 1:07:42Speaker 6: move from five and a half to four and a half. Kendra,
- 1:07:45Speaker 6: I'm a sucker for the narrative. Give me the Raiders here.
- 1:07:47Speaker 4: Let's go.
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: I will say I have two things.
- 1:07:50Speaker 3: One, I do have a Bowers anytime logged because he
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: didn't score last week. I think he's a full participant
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: ready to go back in action this week.
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: They're not going to limit him.
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: The other thing I would like to say, are we
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: in the renaissance of the old man quarterback?
- 1:08:04Speaker 4: Uh, I think it's too early to tell what, from
- 1:08:06Speaker 4: what the Rogers.
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: Rogers, Nick or case the other night, freaking Kirk cousins,
- 1:08:13Speaker 3: just Marcus Mariota.
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: All these old men are kicking ass.
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: I think because I have a quick theory on this.
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: We have been so quick in the NFL to throw
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: the young quarterbacks out onto the field and then look
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: at how quick we are also to discard them as
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: not being any good because because there's the nuance of
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: the game that's being completely forgotten. It's why the Raiders
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: have been so dead set on let Fernando Mendoza learn
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: what an NFL offense actually operates like rather than throwing
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: these guys out there who are operating with the intelligence
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: of an NFL first grader while trying to run advanced
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: trigonometry and the old guys know how to do it.
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: I think that's why we're seeing that Renaissance. They just
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: understand the complex offenses better than the young guys do.
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: I do think that that's the case which we talk
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: about that i think semi often here but the thing
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: for me too about the chiefs they're they're healthy man
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: like they're healthy all right.
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: Well that's an official nominee i have i've already been
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: vetoed I want the Raiders in there.
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: We can't do that.
- 1:09:18Speaker 4: I like the Raiders too. See, Kravya, I'm with you
- 1:09:20Speaker 4: on this game.
- 1:09:21Speaker 3: We just did the thing where you and I were
- 1:09:24Speaker 3: on the same page and he wasn't.
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: And you said in fairness.
- 1:09:26Speaker 4: Kendra, Kendra, Kendra, I get it. That's why it's not
- 1:09:29Speaker 4: going to be a nomination.
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: I was about to be like.
- 1:09:32Speaker 6: I'm showing fair and balanced transparency here.
- 1:09:36Speaker 4: So just want that on record. I know. I was
- 1:09:39Speaker 4: team player with you. We wanted a place where we're
- 1:09:41Speaker 4: on with the Rams.
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: Don't fuck with me right now.
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: Just to review as we continue in the four o'clock.
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: We've got three plays. We need two more to get
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: in there. We will have an unencumbered John Yastrzemski nomination
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: as our fifth.
- 1:09:57Speaker 3: We already are on the same page. Him and I
- 1:09:59Speaker 3: for a game. I'm already aware of it.
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: Titans plus 11 and a half is in there. Jets
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: plus three and a half. Texans minus two and a half.
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: Those are the three that we've got locked in. Let's
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: move to the Broncos and the 49ers. We already know
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: from our stat sound, Evan Abrams, he likes Denver in
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: this game. 49ers minus three Broncos fresh off of a
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: double digit comeback from Bo Nix. Stop me if you've
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: heard that before. They have wins over the Jags and
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: the Rams. That looks pretty good. If this was college football,
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: I think they'd be ranked number one in the country
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: after that strength of schedule. And their only loss is
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: to the Kansas City Chiefs. But now they leave mile high.
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: They take on a 49ers offense that's been pretty much
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: perfect to start the year. Kendra, this is a fascinating game.
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: I wonder if this is the one that you'll be nominating.
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: This is the one I will be nominating.
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: If you couldn't tell by me and John celebrating, I it's,
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: it's not so much that I don't believe in the
- 1:10:53Speaker 3: 49ers as it is. I can't look at their injury report.
- 1:10:57Speaker 3: and have faith in them. Whereas the Broncos, they're tested, man.
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: I think that they're getting in one of these situations
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: where we're about to see them roll for a couple
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: of weeks. I could see them kind of dying down
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: towards week 10 or so, but I think that they're
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: about to roll the next couple of weeks. Genuinely, it's just,
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: I cannot look at this 49ers injury report and feel
- 1:11:17Speaker 3: confident in them.
- 1:11:19Speaker 4: Kendra, you absolutely nailed it. I think it's such a
- 1:11:22Speaker 4: great spot.
- 1:11:24Speaker 6: To go and take the Broncos, who are going to
- 1:11:26Speaker 6: be at home now for two, no, three consecutive games.
- 1:11:30Speaker 4: Niners kind of had one of those games. They play
- 1:11:32Speaker 4: with their food a little bit. We saw it against
- 1:11:33Speaker 4: the Cardinals. Injury starting to mount.
- 1:11:37Speaker 6: Just think it's let down spot city here for the Niners.
- 1:11:40Speaker 6: They had the two easy games against Miami and Arizona.
- 1:11:43Speaker 4: They had the big win against the Rams. Public's going
- 1:11:47Speaker 4: to grab the points with the Niners too.
- 1:11:48Speaker 6: They're going to be like, oh, I'm getting two and
- 1:11:50Speaker 6: a half for three.
- 1:11:51Speaker 4: San Francisco's undefeated. Brock Purdy's playing like an MVP. Altitude,
- 1:11:57Speaker 4: give me the Denver defense that really.
- 1:11:59Speaker 6: Came on second half of that game against the Rams
- 1:12:02Speaker 6: to go make another statement.
- 1:12:03Speaker 4: I'm on the Broncos. I would nominate it. Let's freaking go.
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: So you are right. The public is backing the San
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: Francisco 49ers, 58% of the bets, but also 67% of
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: the money. So It is public support. It is financial
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: support on the San Francisco 49ers. That's a public.
- 1:12:21Speaker 4: Dog with fleas, Krabby and Kensha. They got fleas.
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: 26 players with an injury designation for the San Francisco 49ers.
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: Some weeks are so easy in having these discussions and some...
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: I mean, it is like pushing a boulder up a hill.
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: I completely disagree with both of you. Oh my God.
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: San Francisco.
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: Well, you can't beat them.
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: You think the 49ers aren't used to having the CVS
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: injury report? Did you see them last year? They still
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: won 12 games. They dealt with injuries all year. This
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: is what they do. As long as they still have
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: that offensive line, that play caller, that quarterback who's playing
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: like an MVP and a healthy Christian McCaffrey, We're good.
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: This is the Denver Broncos off of a primetime win. Now,
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: this is where I agree with the public. You usually
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: like to fade them. I'm with them. I think the
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: 49ers are the superior team.
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: Do you know who they have on deck?
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: San Francisco.
- 1:13:28Speaker 4: Seattle.
- 1:13:29Speaker 3: They have Seattle on deck. You know who the Broncos
- 1:13:31Speaker 3: have on deck? The freaking Chargers. This is also a
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: game that they're not, they can't look ahead, but they
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: have to.
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: Nah, I don't do the look ahead. That's a college thing.
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: I don't do that.
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: Half of their roster has an injury designation.
- 1:13:45Speaker 4: I just think they're due for humbling here. The problem
- 1:13:48Speaker 4: is with the Broncos, they play every game the same.
- 1:13:50Speaker 4: I'm going to be so annoyed in the first half.
- 1:13:52Speaker 4: They'll probably be down by like 10 points.
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: And they'll come back.
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: And you got them just where you want them. I
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: don't trust the Broncos away from mile high. I love
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: betting Denver. I want to bet them at home. I
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: don't want to bet Bo Nix on the road. And
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: I just said that there's a home game.
- 1:14:06Speaker 4: I effed up on that. My bad. This is a
- 1:14:08Speaker 4: road game for San Francisco.
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: As good as statistically, this secondary has been Riley Moss
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: was torched last week by a guy by the name
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: of Kanata Mumfield. So I don't care.
- 1:14:21Speaker 6: Rams do this all the time with guys. I'm not
- 1:14:22Speaker 6: getting nuts about that. I'm not getting nuts about that.
- 1:14:26Speaker 6: Doesn't that seem a little too easy? Stanford says go
- 1:14:28Speaker 6: at home. Two and a half. That's what it seems
- 1:14:31Speaker 6: like to me.
- 1:14:32Speaker 3: They have one receiver without a freaking injury designation, dude,
- 1:14:38Speaker 3: and it's Debo.
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: Stop, grab it.
- 1:14:41Speaker 4: Literally.
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: Well, let's not ignore the fact that George Kittle is,
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: you know, George Kittle counts as a wide receiver as well.
- 1:14:47Speaker 4: So we're not getting there with this game. Okay.
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: No, no, we can't veto your choice. This is in.
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: Oh, I get this in?
- 1:14:56Speaker 3: No, we can't veto John. He gets to choose whatever
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: he wants, and he's choosing the Broncos.
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: All right, fine. Broncos plus three.
- 1:15:06Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: I knew that I had it too good last week
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: with everything. Everything I liked. John was making it into
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: the contest.
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: I was dancing over here for you to eat some crow.
- 1:15:16Speaker 4: I guess this is payback, though, for us not being
- 1:15:18Speaker 4: able to get the Rams in.
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: Right, Kendra?
- 1:15:19Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: I will say I like the Broncos a little more
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: than the Rams, so that's fine. Chargers and Seahawks. Seahawks
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: laying seven at home. In theory, this is where we
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: should buy the Chargers, but no thanks. Seattle just snapped
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: their 12-game winning streak with a loss to Washington. They're
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: coming back home. Twelves out for blood. No touch for me. Yeah,
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: that's a Seattle or pass spot. I don't care about
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: the desperation of the Chargers. Been there, done that after
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: watching that game last week. And what I don't like
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: about the matchup, Kendra, angry, ticked off Seattle defense at
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: home against an offensive line that's in shambles. A quarterback
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: that's way too focused on his extracurriculars off the field
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: and looks like an absolute hot mess.
- 1:16:07Speaker 4: Big L for the nerds on Justin Herbert, by the way.
- 1:16:10Speaker 4: Big L on Justin Herbert. He's a fraud. Case closed.
- 1:16:14Speaker 4: I'm on Seattle.
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: Yeah, they would be a great teaser leg, too. Let's
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: wrap with Sunday Night Football. We'll leave Falcon Saints for
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: our Monday episode, give you the same game parlay on.
- 1:16:26Speaker 4: Our recap show.
- 1:16:28Speaker 6: The only thing I was going to say, if you
- 1:16:30Speaker 6: guys want me to go with a play that I
- 1:16:32Speaker 6: can get some unison on to be a team player,
- 1:16:36Speaker 6: I love the Saints on Monday night.
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: Oh, no, no, no. Forget it. There you go. That's it.
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: You know, I don't bet against the Falcons.
- 1:16:42Speaker 4: 20 years after Hurricane Katrina, that dome, that place.
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: I'm with you. I'm with you.
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: Oh, my God. There's just no agreement.
- 1:16:50Speaker 5: All right.
- 1:16:50Speaker 3: So this is how we're going to end this. I
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: don't have a play on Sunday Night Football. We can
- 1:16:54Speaker 3: preview the game. But should we let Evan throw a
- 1:16:56Speaker 3: pick in? Because we're not going.
- 1:16:58Speaker 4: To endorse the Broncos. So the Broncos are going to stay.
- 1:17:01Speaker 3: Yeah, but we need one more. The Broncos are going
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: to have to give us one. And then you're going
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: to have to give us one.
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: Before we get to that, let me just say a
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: little something. about Sunday night football. Lions Panthers, Panthers plus
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: three and a half. The total is 51 and a half.
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: The over in this game could definitely be a play. Dr.
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: Chow gave us a few reasons why earlier on in
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: the episode. The Lions have scored 31 points in three
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: straight games. No team has ever started a season with
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: 31 plus in four straight. So they're looking for some
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: history there. The Panthers are without their top two starting
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: defensive backs. JC Horn, the more notable of the two.
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: I like the Panthers here. I already bet them Devin
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: Lloyd should be back. It should at least help to
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: contain Jameer Gibbs. But if you guys are going vibes
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: on Monday Night Football with the Hurricane Katrina game in
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: New Orleans, Carolina never gets this spot. And they've been
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: really good at home. I don't trust that Lions defense.
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: And Bryce Young quietly leading the league in passing yards
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: right now. I think they're going to be able to
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: move the ball against Detroit. I like getting the home
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: team in primetime. That will not be a popular public play.
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: And the public has been getting demolished in primetime. I
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: like getting the points with the Panthers. To show I'm
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: a team player, I like it.
- 1:18:13Speaker 4: I like it.
- 1:18:14Speaker 6: The only thing that concerns me is that injury report
- 1:18:16Speaker 6: for the Panthers.
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: Yes, I agree. I hate it.
- 1:18:20Speaker 4: That's it? You just don't trust Carolina's defense, Kendra?
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: Is that the problem? They're just so injured. They're so injured.
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: I think we should put the Panthers in there. Ice it.
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: Evan, can you tie break and then we can be done?
- 1:18:33Speaker 7: Yeah, this one's just very difficult because of the corner situation.
- 1:18:37Speaker 4: And also, is Coker playing?
- 1:18:40Speaker 7: I think he may not be.
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: Last time I looked on this one, which would be.
- 1:18:43Speaker 3: I don't think there's no update on him. He's still questionable.
- 1:18:47Speaker 7: Yeah, which is a little dangerous considering you're going to
- 1:18:49Speaker 7: have to keep up in this game. So I don't
- 1:18:53Speaker 7: think this is a contest play.
- 1:18:54Speaker 3: Cool.
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: I think Carolina with injuries off.
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: Evan, give us a contest play. All right.
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: Give me a contest play. I like the Broncos this week.
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: That's already in.
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: Other than the Broncos.
- 1:19:06Speaker 7: We said the line in Arizona and the Giants is
- 1:19:09Speaker 7: one and a half.
- 1:19:10Speaker 4: Two and a half, I think. Oh, it's two and
- 1:19:12Speaker 4: a half. You guys have the lines better than me,
- 1:19:13Speaker 4: but I'm seeing two and a half in a lot
- 1:19:15Speaker 4: of places.
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:19:17Speaker 7: I kind of like Arizona in that game, but it's
- 1:19:20Speaker 7: getting a little aggressive.
- 1:19:21Speaker 4: One and a half contest, Evan.
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: One and a half.
- 1:19:23Speaker 4: Wait, and okay.
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: And what about the Jets? Jets are in, right? We
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: have the Jets. Jets are in.
- 1:19:27Speaker 4: Three and a half.
- 1:19:28Speaker 7: Jeez, what is going on with us these days? We're
- 1:19:31Speaker 7: agreeing on way too much. And you guys were flipped
- 1:19:34Speaker 7: on the Rams, right?
- 1:19:35Speaker 4: I like the Rams. Kendra likes the Rams. Someone doesn't.
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: Do it to them, Evan.
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: Do it.
- 1:19:40Speaker 7: I mean, I'm worried about, listen, that game also has
- 1:19:43Speaker 7: Rams injuries, but I do like getting Puka back.
- 1:19:45Speaker 4: I think the Eagles are a mess.
- 1:19:47Speaker 7: Rams.
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: I can see it. We could do Rams. Rams. All right.
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: Just for the sake of time.
- 1:19:52Speaker 6: Wow, Krabby is going to hate us, Kendra, this Sunday.
- 1:19:56Speaker 4: He's going to hate us.
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: Watch this be our 5-0 card.
- 1:19:58Speaker 4: That'd be great.
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: Anything less than that, and there will be disdain coming
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: from me. Contest this week. Titans plus 11 and a half.
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: Jets plus three and a half. Texans minus two and
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: a half. We got the Broncos at plus two and
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: a half against the 49ers and the Rams. Let's get Yankee!
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: Let's get it. John Yastrzemski, the mayor of New York City.
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: Thanks so much and go enjoy that Yankees win. Hopefully
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: the Rays don't get you.
- 1:20:29Speaker 4: It should be a lot of fun, guys. Look forward
- 1:20:31Speaker 4: to it and let's make it 5-0.
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: Let's go. That's going to do it for us here
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: on The Favorites. We'll be back on Monday as we
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: recap week four of the NFL season and a preview
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: of the Falcons and the Saints. You can catch it
