Transcript
- 0:00All right, we're back again. I think this is seventy seven, right,
- 0:03I put seventy seven on the title, not even checked. I just
- 0:06was seventy seven. But yeah, man, back again. The grounded show
- 0:10got a returning guest, probably the first returning guest, right. I don't
- 0:14think we had anybody. I think, yeah, I think this. Yeah,
- 0:18The Boy, Baby, the Boy. The first two times John Many,
- 0:25y'all. If y'all from the Central Florida, I mean I can't even
- 0:27say that anymore. I can't just say if you're from Central Florida because The
- 0:31Boy is worldwide now, but in fact, we're going to North Florida.
- 0:36Now, Baby, what's that place where it be? All the old people
- 0:42that catch at CDs? The villagers favorite guy? Hey man, he was.
- 0:52He was our first two part episode. Man, that episode just ended
- 0:55up just going. But Yo, you know what's funny thought. I didn't
- 0:58even think about this until right now, But always get on me on that
- 1:00episode. I don't drink, bro, you know what I'm saying. But
- 1:06when you pulled up, Remember we got the little bottle of the tequila we
- 1:08was drinking, and since we were just chopping it up and ship, I
- 1:11wasn't even paying attention. Bro, I'm just drinking, drinking, drinking.
- 1:15Dog. I literally had to have my wife helped me get to the room.
- 1:19Bro oh Man left Dog, I was fucking friedg with sauce. He
- 1:29goes, I mean he's a bathroom fleet right back. Yo. Me and
- 1:30q seeing for like twenty minutes, we was like, yo, come back.
- 1:37Yeah. I was like, I was like, Yo, I know
- 1:38we're done. I gotta go. I'll be right back. I want to
- 1:41say something still that. I don't even remember what the fuck I said,
- 1:45Dog, I just know I came back. And then when I fucking sat
- 1:48down here, I was like, oh my god, how am I gonna
- 1:49get up? Bro? But yeah, man Quincy actually had hit Jari up
- 1:56earlier in the day because we all did you get a chance to listen to
- 2:00the whole podcast Jarry the Cat Williams joint? All right? But Cat Cat
- 2:05Williams was on the Shannon Sharp podcast Club Shay Shay and I seen it in
- 2:10the morning, and everybody in the chat pretty much owns. I don't know
- 2:14if you know, Jarry, but Cat Williams my favorite comedian. You know
- 2:16what I'm saying? Like that's from the beginning. The first time I saw
- 2:20him, I was like, Bro, he's hilarious. I've seen him live,
- 2:22I've seen all his specials, catch him whenever he's on something else,
- 2:25and I always enjoy his work. And so, you know, and I
- 2:29like Shannon Sharp. I'm already subscribed to the podcast. So when I seen
- 2:31him right away, I'm like, Yo, Cat Williams is on the Shannon
- 2:35Sharp podcast. I sent it in my little group chat, Bro, that
- 2:38shit just started hot. Boy. That thing was right from the beginning where
- 2:44he's like, Yo, I don't really be going on these shows. You
- 2:46know, I don't need to promote nothing. I just only you know,
- 2:49talk to people I fuck with when I got something to say, Dog,
- 2:52that just set the whole tone for that old thing. Man. That was
- 2:57That was crazy, bro. And even in like our little group chat with
- 3:00like the people we play Call of Duty with that they're not even really tapped
- 3:04into like current stuff like that. They checked it out and they was real
- 3:07into it. They listened to the whole thing. They was talking about it
- 3:09all day. I didn't think it would kind of like take off the way
- 3:13it did as far as like so many people checking it out but talking real
- 3:17spicy. You know what. I don't think there's one chat that hasn't brought
- 3:21it up. Yeah, Facts, Yeah they haven't. It hasn't been like
- 3:24something like that in a while. I feel like I can't even think off
- 3:28the top of my head when was the last like kind of like interview or
- 3:30whatever, like, because there's always stuff like, for example, even like
- 3:34when Shannon Sharp was on Stephen Ay's show the first time after the whole thing
- 3:38happened at Fox and stuff, not everybody cared. Only people that really was
- 3:42into sports and stuff like that, you know what I'm saying. So like
- 3:45that was like this was like the first one that I could think of that
- 3:47everybody was kind of tuned into, you know what I mean. I also
- 3:52feel like if it was anybody else, people probably wouldn't have even tapped in
- 3:57the way they tapped in. But we know that like Williams doesn't talk much,
- 4:00you know what I'm saying. It's one of those people that just like
- 4:02when he does talk, you listen, you know. Yeah, facts,
- 4:05And I want to throw it to Jarry because I've seen like different stuff that
- 4:10he's posted about Kat and He's cat. Williams is one of those people that
- 4:14I don't really know where you kind of stand on Cat Williams, you know
- 4:16what I mean, Like you make it known about a lot of different stuff,
- 4:20but and that one is kind of like in the air. So I'm
- 4:23really curious, like just personally to hear like what you think about just him
- 4:27in general and leading into the podcast. You know, all right, man,
- 4:30I'm gonna try my best to be politically correct. So first of all,
- 4:34fellas, I just want to thank y'all for having me on the show.
- 4:36You know, it's an honored to be back. But Kat Williams is
- 4:42a hater. Bro, I don't know that. It breaks my heart,
- 4:50man, it breaks my heart because I always I never really thought of Kat
- 4:55william as like corny, you know what I'm saying. But he was just
- 4:59doing a lot of shit on there that I just didn't respect. I mean
- 5:02as far as like how he feels about Ricky Smile and is Steve Harvey and
- 5:05there. I don't knock him, you know what I'm saying. If what
- 5:09he's saying is true and how he feels about them is how he feels.
- 5:12But bro, calling Luther Chris's wife ugly, where they do that at you
- 5:18know what I mean, where's the joke in that you just up here?
- 5:25But I was talking to my sister a little bit about it. But like
- 5:27how I put that video on my story and me talking the other day about
- 5:30how people will be cool with somebody and then when stuff goes left or when
- 5:33they don't have anything they can get out of him no more. They just
- 5:36shit on them and try to expose them or like, oh, this is
- 5:40what they really got going on. That's what he was doing with Lttle Chris
- 5:43because Luthera Chris ain't doing nothing to him. M hmm, So what's the
- 5:46why try to spend his narrative like, oh, Louli Chris sold his soul
- 5:50because he cut his hair off? What are you talking about, bro?
- 5:56You know what I mean? Oh? And wife is ugly? Like I
- 6:00don't know, man, I don't know, man, I feel like this.
- 6:04I don't know, man. It's a real Uh. There's a lot
- 6:08of nuances in uh the interview. But say that say that again. No,
- 6:15I was gonna say do you think he would because you know there's responses
- 6:17coming if it was true or if he was doing it for cloud chasing?
- 6:23What do you think his approach? I definitely don't think he's doing it for
- 6:27clout. I just think that Kat Williams lives in his own world and sometimes
- 6:32he gets it right and sometimes he doesn't. And in this time he said
- 6:38it like he's not really like sociable, he's not really around other comedians.
- 6:42So I see people do it all the time, where a situation will happen
- 6:46and this person is so disconnected from the reality of the situation. They'll go
- 6:50sit on it for three months, fass and and like come up with their
- 6:56own narrative of what happened, and then they pop back out and be like,
- 7:00oh, I don't mess with this dude because of that. I don't
- 7:02mess with this dude because of that. And it's like, Bro, what
- 7:04are you talking about. That's not what happened. That's what's going on in
- 7:09your own mind. Bro. Like I was just watching it, Like at
- 7:14first I was watching it. I would say, like the first thirty minutes
- 7:16or so, like, Okay, this is dope. Yeah he like you
- 7:19know what I'm saying. He going in because I feel like he understands a
- 7:23lot of comedians can relate to the concept of like, oh, a bigger
- 7:28comedians stole my joke when I was a nobody and they're getting away with it
- 7:31and comedians can't relate to all these gatekeepers won't let me in and give me
- 7:36certain opportunities to do that. I feel it it was centered around that he's
- 7:41been left out of that group, right, And that's the reason. What
- 7:46I don't understand, though, is that there's no way that That's another thing
- 7:49what I'm saying, like, I promise you everything I say is gonna come
- 7:53back full circle, because there's no way he can spend a narrative that older
- 7:58leaving me out or older hating on me. When Shannon Sharp said said,
- 8:03as the entertainer gave you this huge award that he used to do every year,
- 8:07how is he like not embracing you if he's given you this award that
- 8:11he has. That's not how blackballing people work. I feel like Kat Williams
- 8:18keeps intentionally burning bridges with people and then being mad that they don't embrace me.
- 8:24H. I definitely feel a lot of the stuff in what you're saying
- 8:28there. The only thing that I can't really speak on specifically to what you're
- 8:31saying is I don't know what those people said about him on the Shannon Sharp
- 8:37podcast for him to respond, and I would, and I'm going to go
- 8:39back and listen to those clips to really like get a full understanding of like
- 8:45what he was like talking about as far as like what they said about him.
- 8:48But one of the big takeaways that I got from it is like just
- 8:52that idea of like he can kind of do that and speak freely and just
- 8:56even even if his thoughts are wrong, he can do it and he don't
- 9:01have to worry about any pushback as far as anything affecting him and what he's
- 9:05doing because of the lane that he's carved out for himself, you know what
- 9:07I mean. And that's something that I feel like he was kind of trying
- 9:09to get across to where he was just kind of hammering home like I don't
- 9:13do stuff that I don't want to do because I don't need to do it.
- 9:16I have my fan base, I have, you know what I'm saying,
- 9:18Like people like Kat Williams to me, is like that situation that he's
- 9:24in a super special because and I feel like, definitely Jar you could relate
- 9:28to this, Quincey, you can relate to this as an artist, but
- 9:30like just the point of view of being able to lock in that audience where
- 9:35they're just going to be locked into you, and you know you're gonna have
- 9:37a fan base, Like no matter where you go, no matter what you
- 9:39do, you can kind of expect a certain baseline of people to be there
- 9:43and support you in your corner just because you've built that equity amongst those people.
- 9:48Like, to me, that's super dope, and it's dope that he
- 9:50can kind of give his point of view right or wrong, but just say,
- 9:54hey, I don't do X, Y and Z because of these reasons.
- 9:58You can like her or not like the reasons, but hey, that's
- 10:01what he's doing, you know what I mean. I think that he,
- 10:05like you said, he is in his own lane and he's uh, he's
- 10:09independent, so he's like, you know what I mean, he's his own
- 10:13source of for lack of a better word, of power. But at the
- 10:16same time, I feel like he's misusing his influence because if he's happy being
- 10:22independent, why does he care so much as not being accepted by the people
- 10:26that he rejected. It doesn't make sense that he would go up there and
- 10:30be like, they offered me fifty million dollars four times, and I turned
- 10:33it down, but Kevin Hart said yeah, and I'm mad about it,
- 10:37Like why would you be mad? Yeah, it's like turning a chick down
- 10:41and being mad at the next dude for like smashing her, like they got
- 10:46smashed her. Why are you mad at me? You're gonna be with me
- 10:48for picking up the chick that you turned down? Like nothing I was.
- 10:52I would say the majority of the stuff he was saying just wasn't making any
- 10:56sense to me. It just sounded good. But it sounds good because he's
- 11:01a stand up comedian. We make we lie and make it sound believable,
- 11:05you know what I'm saying, Like is what is part of the arts?
- 11:09You know what I'm saying. But as far as like the stuff he was
- 11:11saying about Ricky Smiley and Steve Harvey and said that the entertainer and uh,
- 11:16just like a lot of the older comedians, I can't really speak to that
- 11:20because that's like a personal situation and the conversation and ship like that. Just
- 11:24a lot of the outside stuff was just like like how he was like,
- 11:28oh, Joe Rogan won't bring me on his show because I'm funny and he's
- 11:31trying to promote six unfunny comedians. Joe Rogan just posted I want to say
- 11:37for the past two episodes they were on the show in Cat Williams Love,
- 11:39Yeah you can go on this and went on there and talked about Kat Williams
- 11:48episode in his own World making up his own ship like he was talking about
- 11:52bro So so you're too funny to be on Joe Rogan, But Dave Chappelle
- 11:56was on there. Are you alluding to the fact that you're funnier than Dave
- 11:58Chappelle? Is that what we're gonna do? You know what I mean?
- 12:01Like, you know, your resume don't stack up against his, So don't
- 12:05even try to spend that as a narrative. Nigga, you gonna look crazy?
- 12:07Yeah what what? Like the host it about Cedric I get. I'm
- 12:11not saying I get it, but it's the fact that he's saying that he
- 12:15stole that that space of joke from that I get. I be mad about
- 12:22that, but then actually up and comer like, damn, that's all I
- 12:26got right now and that joke. Hey, I still remember that jokes,
- 12:28the whole joke to this day. But Steve Harvey, I felt like he
- 12:33was just hating he was he was just hating all them like that's it was
- 12:37just pure hate. Yeah, they have some weird I can't remember what what
- 12:41started it, but they have some weird beef like twenty years ago, going
- 12:46back and forth on the radio or something. And it's almost like he's getting
- 12:50some like secondhand beef just from the residual of the Bernie shit too, you
- 12:54know what I mean. Like he's like he seems real like like stuck on
- 12:58that, you know what I'm saying. It's like, Bro, Bernie been
- 13:00dessence with six? Bro, you know what I'm saying. Like, and
- 13:03like, did Bernie even fuck with you like that? Because I mean,
- 13:07what Bernie died in six? Oh well could y'all relationship both y'all are on
- 13:15the road like crazy? You said Bernie died in oh six? And what
- 13:18you cut off for a second? Oh my bad, I was saying Bernie
- 13:20Bernie passing what like oh six? I'm just guessing. And uh, when
- 13:24you grew up in two thousand and two before social media, they're both traveling
- 13:28on the road, How well could you even know this? Nigga? August
- 13:31ninety, two thousand and eight was when he passed. Okay, it was
- 13:35it was a decent time guy, because I mean, if you think about
- 13:39it from the comic view days, that was ninety eight ninety you know what
- 13:41I'm saying. So he had a good, solid decade, I would say,
- 13:45at least in the industry. You know what I mean. Did you
- 13:50think about Kat Williams just as far as work goes, you know, a
- 13:54comedian resume, I like, I mean, obviously like his first two specials
- 14:00is crazy. But I mean, outside of the first two, his specials
- 14:03have been bent pretty like subpar. And I see that that, Uh,
- 14:07that's part of the reason why he's so bitter. He just because you say
- 14:11you're not bitter doesn't mean you're not bitter. Bro. Like everything you're on
- 14:15here saying, like you throwing shots at he said, Joe Rogan's pushing six
- 14:20unfunny comedians right now? What do they have to do with anything you talking
- 14:24about? Bro? Yeah, you know what I'm saying, Like these are
- 14:26just up and coming guys. And I guarantee you he's not gonna say who
- 14:31he's naming, but he's so he's so real, But he'll throw subliminal at
- 14:35six niggas and then refuse to say who you talking about either say their names
- 14:39or don't you know what I'm saying. It was just I don't know,
- 14:43man. I was just I don't know, man. Like the whole interview,
- 14:48I'm just like, what is this nigga doing? He's self destructive.
- 14:50Bro, That's why I got that quote. You can't sugar quote a bitter
- 14:54pill and call it a tic tack. You can't sound bitter and then say
- 14:58you're not bitter it. Bro, you fringing up and like this whole Friday
- 15:03after Next shit. That movie came out over twenty years ago. Bro,
- 15:09this new generation barely carried I would say they got another five years of that
- 15:15movie being relevant without it sounded like dinosaurs, Like I like Harlem Nison all
- 15:22that. Imagine a nigga going on the podcast and trying to tell you some
- 15:24like gossip about that shit. Niggas don't give a fuck, you know what
- 15:30I'm saying. So you give a fuck because we grew up on that movie.
- 15:33But this is your generation. Ain't trying to hear about a twenty year
- 15:35old movie. Bro. So my understanding from the way it started was that
- 15:39Kat actually came up there or came to the podcast in response to individuals like
- 15:46Cedric dannertating her and Ricky Smiley coming on there and making certain comments that he
- 15:52perceived as lies. So from that standpoint, I get what you're saying,
- 15:58but it's also like like if they're going to still talk about it and make
- 16:02references to it, then I'm gonna address my side, you know what I
- 16:04mean. So that's that's my only kind of take on that. Yeah,
- 16:08I do feel what you was talking about, Jerry as far as because I
- 16:11didn't look at it from the point of view of like he kind of was
- 16:14all over the place, and then like there's certain things that he said that
- 16:18if you kind of like just look at him like in a in a nutshell,
- 16:23like all those extra little things that he threw in there is kind of
- 16:26like, you know, it kind of convolutes like the main message, you
- 16:30know what I mean, Like if I got an issue with somebody, then
- 16:33that's it. It's just you. I'm not about to be like blah blah
- 16:36blah. Oh, by the way, this nigga's wife is ugly, you
- 16:40tell crazy. It takes away from from the point of like what you're actually
- 16:47trying to get at. For sure, Like when you like if he came
- 16:48on there and really just addressed Ricky Smiley and Cedric Entertainer, I think you'd
- 16:52probably be having a different conversation exactly, Yeah, exactly. But then when
- 16:56you do all the other shit, it's like, oh, if nigga's mistreated
- 17:00you, you probably deserved it, because look how you're acting now, you're
- 17:03acting like them, like you know what I'm saying, they chump you out,
- 17:07niggas like, and they're probably sitting around laughing. Here's the thing,
- 17:11here's right. He was stuck on the fact that Steve Harvey was like,
- 17:15oh, I don't I'm not a movie star because I didn't want to be
- 17:19right. And you know what I'm saying. Obviously that we can we can
- 17:23debate whether he really wanted to or not. Only Steve Harvey really knows that
- 17:26that's true or not. But Steve Harvey's up one hundred two hundred ms right
- 17:30now. So if you're saying that, like he wanted to be a movie
- 17:34star and he failed because they didn't write scripts for him, Okay, his
- 17:38plan B looks fucking immaculate to me. You know what, I'm saying,
- 17:42the same reason enough from him, bro, Yeah, and what I've always
- 17:47heard and I've always wondered, what's true is that he said he Steve Harvey
- 17:49said he don't do comedy because of all the shows he got and he's afraid
- 17:53of getting canceled. And then oh, he said on the comedy because he
- 17:56got shows. He's that because he doesn't have a fan base, Like I
- 18:00don't know how he might still have a fan base. Man, if it's
- 18:04such that the entertainer is still torn and doing shows, there's no way Steve
- 18:08Harvey can't do shows, you know what I'm saying. And people are paying
- 18:12money to go see said they'll pay to go see Steve Harvey. That's like,
- 18:17that's like fucking Big Boy touring and saying Andre three thousand camp. It's
- 18:21like they if they like one, they like the other, or they're just
- 18:23willing to go see you know what I'm saying, what you're talking about.
- 18:27And on top of that, like people are overlooking the fact that Steve Harvey
- 18:32is almost seventy years old. Bromm. Yeah, that's an old ass man
- 18:37you're talking about. He might not want to fucking tour. The nigga is
- 18:41Oh you think would you rather be traveling around the world with your wife,
- 18:45smoking cigars and wearing outfits that you're too old for, or would you want
- 18:49to roll stuck on a bus, dealing with torments and and all that type
- 18:56of shit, Like look at the quality of life, Kat Williams, Like
- 19:00everything coming full circle. Bro. This nigga on the interview saying himself,
- 19:06I smoked weed because as a comedian, you travel all the time and you
- 19:10gotta eat at three in the morning, and your body don't like you living
- 19:12like you. You sound miserable. Bro, seventy year old man wants to
- 19:17live like that? Oh he don't tour because he's not funny no more.
- 19:21He might not be nigga, he's seventy. This nigga was old thirty years
- 19:26ago. He was like, Bro, you not tricking me. Bro like
- 19:34that, nigga do a lot of a lot of double talk. And then
- 19:37the ship with me when I when I started peeping at this nigga was like
- 19:41on some bullshit. I know, Like, yah, I'm sure y'all got
- 19:45the ear too, Like I got an ear for like music and tone and
- 19:48inflection and shit, like I can hear the sincerity and when people talk sometimes
- 19:52And I peeped in the interview, he was like performing, like he was
- 19:56trying to like say something cool and like, Nigga, just say the truth.
- 20:02Why are you trying to He was definitely taking the time to like formulate
- 20:06his response, so it's like quote worthy, you know what I mean?
- 20:07Bro, Like he wouldn't give it right away. He would like take a
- 20:11second part to think about it. I thought they were like muting certain parts,
- 20:15but he was just stopping and they're like starting his next phrase. Yeah,
- 20:19how can I lean into my character a little bit and say something that
- 20:22sounds flying and play or and slick, like Nigga shut the fuck up?
- 20:26He read three thousand books when he's six years old. What are we talking
- 20:30about? Bro? Let's audio books, comic book college and some honors class.
- 20:37But when I showed up, all the kids were wearing lab coats,
- 20:41So I felt a test on purpose? Nigga shut the fuck up on purpose?
- 20:47You sabotaged it. So you want me to believe that bro like this,
- 20:52Nigga is a liar? Bro? No, No, he definitely threw
- 20:55in a lot of saws and a lot of Like I really believe that,
- 20:59I really leave. Ricky Smiley was there. You know what I'm saying,
- 21:03I really do believe the Sedge of the Entertainers joke, and I can't remember
- 21:07what it beat with Steve Harvey was. I think it was just like some
- 21:08ego. I think it's throw for Ricky Smile because, uh, you know
- 21:12Steve Harvey, Ricky Smile is super close. They had that radio show forever,
- 21:18so they've always done things together, and that's what I mean. I
- 21:21think it kind of just went into Steve Harvey hate, like I didn't hear
- 21:25the reason for the Steve Harvey hate I think, which is a ramp by
- 21:27why he didn't fuck with So I got a question, do you think that
- 21:33a lot of his issues are personal vendettas towards these individuals are because you know,
- 21:38he has certain I guess morals or values that he's not willing to bend
- 21:44on that he's seen them bend on. Like, do you think that has
- 21:47something to do with it? This nigga has glorified being a pimp for twenty
- 21:52years. Bro, he asked him if he was a nigga, wasn't arrested
- 21:56nineteen times? He got morals. This nigga fought a little kid and he
- 22:02got orals like what are we talking about that nigga. Did you hear what
- 22:06he said why he adopted all of his kids? This nigga said he adopted
- 22:11and he didn't use this word, but I'm using this word because this bottom
- 22:14line what he's saying, he adopted ten kids so he could trick God into
- 22:18thinking he's a good person. Bro. If you're God and you see somebody
- 22:23adopt ten kids, what would you think of that person? As Santa Shark
- 22:26was like, I was a huge good person. So like you didn't adopt
- 22:30them because like there was ten kids you wanted to take care of, or
- 22:33you just felt this need to like nurture something. You did it specifically so
- 22:40God would think you're a good person. What have you done in your life
- 22:42to make you have to pull a stunt like that? You know another thing
- 22:47too, bro, Like one of the reasons why I really hate I hate
- 22:52when any nigga speaks on another man's wife. I feel like that is like
- 22:55some super duper whole shit because especially in these times like with the gender war
- 23:00and shit going on, but having a wife is like socially, it gives
- 23:04you that perception. I don't even want to say perception because that sounds like
- 23:07manipulative, but you have that image of like, Okay, this is a
- 23:11solid man. They've been together for twenty years. He has to be a
- 23:15stand up guy because this woman has stood next to him for twenty years.
- 23:18So for a nigga that's fifty two years old to not be able to say
- 23:22he's been married once, he just has a bunch of women that came in
- 23:26and out of his life that can't co sign for him no more. You
- 23:30have no right to ever say a nigga's wife is ugly or anything, because
- 23:33it's not a take on the committed that can be like, oh, for
- 23:37twenty years, I've been with this nigga every day and I can tell you
- 23:38this is a real nigga and he fifty two. But you speaking on another
- 23:44nigga's wife like that shit is corny, bro, Like it was too much.
- 23:48He did too much bitch shit for me to be even even respect the
- 23:51little beef he got because it's like what I think is what I really.
- 23:55This is my own personal conspiracy theory or whatever. But he said it him
- 24:00and his pops got into it when he was a jit. His pops is
- 24:03like, nigga, you gotta get the fuck out. So the nigga slid
- 24:06he's homeless. Now. I think he just has a problem with authority because
- 24:08everybody he gets next to, he only gets close enough to pet what they
- 24:12got going on? See what's this? See what's that? And then he
- 24:15slides out and then ships on him. Shit on Ludacris, Bro, what
- 24:21did this nigga do to you? Nothing? You know what I'm saying.
- 24:23Like every everybody he sucks out, even the Nick Cannon shit. Nick Cannon
- 24:27sees this niggas having like some turbulence in his career, so he's like,
- 24:32boh, let me put you on Wilding Out, put you in front of
- 24:34America again. Give him another look. And Cat Williams World, where he
- 24:40expinses on narratives, he's like, oh, I was on Wilding Out because
- 24:42they needed me to establish respect between the comedians and the rappers. Probably Out
- 24:47was popping before you was even on the show. Apion Crockett had that show
- 24:51jumping gets this shit. But in Cat Williams little fucking circus of a mind,
- 24:56he's like, Oh, I'm important, Nick Cann, it ain't shit
- 25:00without me, and I'm gonna go with sharp show and say like, oh,
- 25:03if it wasn't for me, the rappers would have punched Nick Cannon in
- 25:07the eye. What I'm talking about, Bro, everybody he gets next to
- 25:12he ends up shitting on in the major thing. I don't know if y'all
- 25:15if y'all know this because you're not that big of a comedian, but uh,
- 25:19I mean he's torn athlete or whatever. But anyways, nigga Ali Sadik
- 25:23has been calling this nigga out for five years about being a bitch ass nigga.
- 25:30He pitching this nigga name, not one time throwing up on Shannon Sharp
- 25:34Show to set the record straight. Speak on the nigga that you know you
- 25:37can't speak on what you're gonna say. You more of a street nigga in
- 25:41him. A nigga that did ten years in prison and they't tell nobody until
- 25:45he was fifteen years into his comedy career. Are you funnier than this nigga?
- 25:48A nigga who drops a special every single year and it's just one big
- 25:52story that is like critically acclaimed. Right now, you can't this nigga.
- 25:57This nigga has been a less of a He's been famous for a short amount
- 26:03of time. The Cat Williams and already has a more well respected body of
- 26:07work as far as like talent goes. He no narrative he can spend about
- 26:11this nigga. And you got all the smoke for this nigga that's seventy years
- 26:15old. But you know, Al put the fucking pause on you, so
- 26:18you ain't got But this is another thing too, Bro is like, Hi,
- 26:23I know he's duck and smoke because in the interview with Kat Williams is
- 26:27like, oh, I used to be called Cat and the Hat, but
- 26:30Disney sent me a h The nigga who exposed him for being called Cat and
- 26:37the Hat and wearing hats on stage was Ali Sad. That's why he so
- 26:41the nigga. The nigga crossed their mind in the interview. You know what
- 26:47I'm saying, But you you don't want to because you know you're not gonna
- 26:49get all all the you know, like the Steve Harvey shit is selections.
- 26:53They're bigger than you. So if you I won't say bigger than but y'all,
- 26:56y'all know what I mean, Like they got pedigree. I speak on
- 27:00them, it'll be like a ripple effect. But if I speak on al,
- 27:03I'm introducing him to my audience. I do not even know who he
- 27:07is, but he got real smoke with you. He talking about he want
- 27:11to whoop your ass when you don't got none to say. All right,
- 27:15yeah, I ain't gonna lie giant. That's a you gotta. That's a
- 27:19good take. You make it some great points. But never hate with me,
- 27:22Bro. I know it's never hate. It's just I be seeing the
- 27:26patterns and ship on the line. It's like this nigga is full of ship.
- 27:32You can run a four to three nigga and you come home. Bro.
- 27:37I'm not why Lie, Bro, I feel like you smoke more weeds
- 27:45than snoop. Why Lie? I feel like, like like I said in
- 27:49the beginning, like as far as comedian goes, he's my favorite comedian.
- 27:52Like that's like you know, on stage and everything. But yeah, exactly.
- 27:57But kind of like you saying, Bro, it's like when you talk
- 28:00about shit that's like supposed to be when you when you speak on stuff that's
- 28:04supposed to be unspoken, there's no way for you to speak on it and
- 28:10not look the way that you're saying. You know what I'm saying because That's
- 28:12why it's things you don't talk about because exactly what you're talking about, bro,
- 28:15Like, we've all had fallen outs and things like that, and you
- 28:19know, you you talk about it, but there's aspects of it that you
- 28:25always keep close to the best because, like you said, bro, like,
- 28:27there ain't no way to say certain things without opening that can of worms,
- 28:32And there ain't no way to say certain things without sounding like a bitch.
- 28:33You know what I'm saying exactly what you're saying, right, so you
- 28:38know he's speaking on certain things. But like you said, then other things
- 28:41come up, little little random topics, little side swipes that he's taking that
- 28:45people and stuff like that. But like, I definitely feel everything you're saying,
- 28:51like because what you're saying is valid as hell facts, but just from
- 28:56the point of like, I still like it from the point of view of
- 28:59like, bruh, he he's able to kind of like it's kind of like
- 29:02it's funny because I heard the Sean Strickland podcast where he was on theovon.
- 29:06I don't know if y'all heard that, but he's, you know, the
- 29:07lightweight champion right now in the UFC. He's like a real controversial, like
- 29:15yeah with the pin here right, No, no, no, no,
- 29:18he's the like country kind of white boy that got in a fight in the
- 29:22crowd recently. Yeah. Yeah, But anyway, he was on the Theovon
- 29:26Show and he was kind of coming at it from the point of view of
- 29:30like, you know if I was, because he's real outspoken, and he
- 29:33was just telling Theovonne like, if I was in the NBA right now talking
- 29:36the way I'm talking, I would they would have kicked me out the league.
- 29:38I wouldn't have had a chance to make money. But I'm in the
- 29:41UFC, and you know they they don't control you that way, So I
- 29:45can say what I want, you know, and It'll just affect me,
- 29:47you know what I'm saying, Like he can still do what he wants as
- 29:48long as he performs, but it'll affect him, you know what I'm saying.
- 29:52And that's always like the main gist that I got from the Cat Williams
- 29:56thing was like, Bro, he can talk like that because he don't get
- 30:00to turn around and then look at that person and expect to check from them
- 30:03exactly what I'm saying. So that that's like, that's like the piece that
- 30:07I kind of took away even even from the point of view of like,
- 30:11that's something that I aspire to be, like somebody that can kind of do
- 30:14my thing and just do it the way that I would like to do it
- 30:17and say what I want to say without having to worries that somebody could take
- 30:19the money out my hand. You know what I say. No, that's
- 30:22a fact, and I definitely respect that. I feel like as human beings,
- 30:26like at the end of the day, as human beings, we should
- 30:27be able to free. We should be able to be free enough to experiment
- 30:30with the thoughts and the shit we want to say. But with that,
- 30:33you gotta you gotta own up to that ship and stand on that square.
- 30:38So throw all these darts and it be like, oh, by the way,
- 30:41I'm not bitter, Nah, you are bitter. Just oh you know
- 30:44what I'm saying. I don't respect that more. He's like, yo,
- 30:45may if he would have been on all of that ship, And it be
- 30:48like, Yo, you know what, Maybe I am bitter because I just
- 30:51been doing it on my own. I endure so much bullshit as a comedian.
- 30:55I feel like a lot of other people are getting the easy way out,
- 30:59and I'm being overlooked. I could respect that more than like, I'm
- 31:03just saying the truth. Yeah, Kevin Hartson Industry playing this nigga got the
- 31:07work documented. Yeah, he like. But that's the thing that like people
- 31:14like him do. They spend these narratives and be like, how can that
- 31:18be true if this is what happened. So when he's like he we just
- 31:22watched the documentary him blowing up on New York, how did he blow up
- 31:26in LA? At the same time, that's not what they're saying, nigga.
- 31:29You can blow up in New York, get scouted by agents that are
- 31:33based out of LA. They fly you to La, book you in these
- 31:36rooms, and now you're buzzing in La, nigga. But bro, and
- 31:40even kind of like you were saying, like with the with the darts analogy,
- 31:44it's like he also like picked up a couple of them and said,
- 31:47I don't know about this one and left like five darts. You know what
- 31:48I'm saying, It's like you're good. Like you said, like, if
- 31:52you're gonna tell your truth, you know, quote unquote, you got to
- 31:56speak on all of it and you gotta just keep it real all across the
- 31:59board. No, facts. Hear you, jarr Yo, I can't hear
- 32:08you. I think he had to take a take something real quick. But
- 32:14we can keep going. I think yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. But
- 32:19the crazy thing is like that what I wanted to ask Jari about too,
- 32:23is my yeah, my bad that Cam Patterson. This nigga called me about
- 32:29three times since I've been on here. Man, you know what I'm saying,
- 32:34Because how he was like, yeah, you know Joe Rogan six funny
- 32:37niggas. It's like, damn, this nigga talking about Cam Rogan. Joe
- 32:40Rogan been promoting Cam too, so it's like he's so out of touch with
- 32:45this ship. There's like a whole like, for lack of a better word,
- 32:49I would say, like a fraternity of comedians in Austin right now,
- 32:53and they on somebody you're talking about this nigga, all thirty four of us.
- 32:58It's fuck you, nigga. You know what I'm saying. But when
- 33:01you just sit around in your own little world and don't know what's going on
- 33:06and talk like you do, this is a type of uh shit that happens.
- 33:09Bro. You know yo, something I wanted to ask you to that
- 33:14came up in the in the podcast and I've always found interesting, like especially
- 33:17now that you know, in the last like ten years or so, the
- 33:20podcast thing got real popular. You hear comedians talking to each other all the
- 33:23time and getting interviewed. The dress thing that always pops up in every time
- 33:30they're interviewing comedians, but specifically black comedians. They don't ask white comedians,
- 33:37they don't ask Spanish comedians, Indian, Asian whatever, black comedians the dress
- 33:43thing. What's your take on? And when I say the dress thing,
- 33:45I'm talking about the perception that they're always trying to put a black man in
- 33:50a dress to kind of like demascularize. I don't even know how to masculate,
- 33:54like emasculate. There you go to like kind of emasculate them. Like,
- 33:59what's your take on that idea of the theory, What is your take
- 34:01on wearing a dress for comedy? Like, what do you think about that?
- 34:05The first comedian I heard that to say it out loud on like a
- 34:07public platform with Dave Chappelle, he put that shit out there and was like,
- 34:10this, this is what it is. I mean, it's something that
- 34:13people like would talk about, but not with the type of platform that Dave
- 34:17Chappelle, and I could be wrong somebody who said it before him, but
- 34:21that's just my recollection of it. But I think personally, I think it
- 34:23stems from like that that practice that they used to do in slavery, that
- 34:27breaking buckshite, where somebody like ran away or like rebelled, they just saying
- 34:31one of these niggas out there and just fuck him in front of everybody to
- 34:35like be like, oh, this is this is who y'all fuck with.
- 34:37Well, guess what, I just fucked him in the ass type some psychological
- 34:40shit, you know what I'm saying. So it's kind of like that same
- 34:45perception, like, oh, this they broke you. They made you put
- 34:46the dress on, because what straight nigga wants to wear a dress? And
- 34:52at this point it's hacky because it's been done so many times. It's not
- 34:54like, oh I put this dress on. Isn't that so funny? No,
- 34:58nigga, We've seen this shit a million times. But I was talking
- 35:02to my sister about it. It's kind of like how I was saying,
- 35:05like people should be able to experiment with they words and shit. I don't
- 35:08say that in the context of experiment and wearing a dress. But I just
- 35:13brought up the fact that like what if, what if our perception of them
- 35:16wearing the dress wasn't the case. What if it's just a corny joke that
- 35:22Hollywood just does, you know what I'm saying, And we're we have that
- 35:25perception of it because of the history behind emasculating black men, you know what
- 35:30I'm saying. But I say, all say, nigga ain't wearing no dresses,
- 35:40you know what, whatever, whatever floats they bowled or whatever. But
- 35:45I was telling her too, because like, you know what I'm saying.
- 35:46She she asked me about the dress thing, and like, oh, what
- 35:50would you do with that or not? But I always feel like I got
- 35:52a step above like comedians in a ways, because like, if this shit
- 35:57don't work out, a nigga, I'll go back and selling cars, you
- 36:00know what I'm saying, Like I can always make money, stand up to
- 36:05be like a successful man, and like a lot of these niggas do,
- 36:07Like I don't If this ship don't I'm cussing my mom. But if yeah,
- 36:15bro, if this don't work out, bro, I'm gucci. You
- 36:17know what I'm saying. Ship, I don't know what I'm saying, like
- 36:22I figure I have a yard self before I write. You know, yeah,
- 36:30that's kind of how you feeling, even about like the music. The
- 36:34music that always laugh when people kind of bring up like the local rapper like
- 36:37Persona, and it's like dog, like just because somebody want to be creative,
- 36:43you know what I'm saying. Don't mean like they broke, you know
- 36:45what I'm saying, Like it's like dog, maybe they just want to be
- 36:47creative and if something pop, some pop, but if it don't pop,
- 36:51I'm still straight like I enjoy I enjoy creating it, right. It's it's
- 36:55it's kind of crazy though, because like it's kind of like that with comedy
- 37:00too, as far as like just creating your art, because like as a
- 37:05rapper, it's like, man, if you ain't famous, you ain't ship
- 37:08comedian. It's like if this joke ain't funny, we personally dislike you.
- 37:22Like the weird part about comedy though, is that you can't practice unless there's
- 37:28other people around, you know what I'm saying. Like, imagine something some
- 37:32nigga is painting, and and like why he's painting, people just pull up
- 37:37and start bowing his nigga it's not done yet. I'm still working on it,
- 37:43you know, like I was going to go back and cover this up
- 37:46or whatever. But it's like that with comedy though, it's like, bro,
- 37:49like, I'm just testing out the frame of the joke. That's not
- 37:52the punchline I wants, you know what I mean, that's potential. I
- 37:55just gotta you know what I'm saying, which is I think that was a
- 38:00dope part of the interview that I didn't understand about stand up comedy that he
- 38:04kind of broke down yesterday where he was like, how you not per minute?
- 38:07You about to talk about the last per minute? No, no,
- 38:09no, which is about how he basically was like, you know how you
- 38:14formulate a joke and you know you you cultivated and you try it out and
- 38:17then you add from it and you take from it, and didn't you have
- 38:21a special And I'm like, oh, that's dope. I never really thought
- 38:22about it like that, you know what I'm saying. Then even now he
- 38:25was saying that like Mark, like he was telling the joke that Mark Curry
- 38:29kind of helped him pull it to make it a little funnier, and then
- 38:31he kind of when he actually was doing it that it was like a big
- 38:35joke. It was like the retooled version that he did with Mark Curry,
- 38:38you know what I mean. But something interesting you said, no, no,
- 38:43go ahead, if you've got example, go ahead, go ahead.
- 38:44Nah, I'll get y'all example. I got a joke where it's like,
- 38:46oh, I just found this app that'll pay you to uh to speed date.
- 38:52And then people were just like, oh, shit, is an app
- 38:53that will pay your speed day? Like that's what they anticipated. I'm like,
- 38:57yeah, it's called driving Uber and it's shit is getting paid to speed
- 39:00day dad. So they think, like that's like a thing. What I'm
- 39:02about to do with that, though, is I'm about to to flip that
- 39:06because I gotta I got a joke that's like the premise is about people going
- 39:10to therapy, so then by by therapy blah blah blah, and then I
- 39:15say the punchline and I'm like, yeah, speaking of therapy, you know,
- 39:17I just became a therapist, and like, oh, just think of
- 39:21that therapy too. Yeah I just started driving Uber. Yeah yeah exactly.
- 39:27But now instead of me talking about speed dating and riding around picking bitches up,
- 39:30I can talk about me riding around and listening to people's problems. It's
- 39:36the same joke, but now I can take it in a different direction and
- 39:37expand it more exactly like talking about picking bitches up like niggas talking about bitches
- 39:43all day is kind of like one dimensional. But if I'm talking about picking
- 39:46up people and listening to their problems, I can take that ship anywhere.
- 39:52Yeah, it's like the same do with music too, Like you might do
- 39:54a song that the song is trash, but you did like a little four
- 39:58bars and that like a little l D or sequence that you're like there's something
- 40:00here and you take it to something else and it'll be like the main part
- 40:04of the next song. You know. Fact. But something you said that
- 40:07was real interesting joy that I heard Jerry Seinfeld talk about with Mario Joyner on
- 40:13The Comedians and Cards Show. He was telling him that the thing that really
- 40:16made them friends in the beginning was that he saw his act as far as
- 40:22Seinfeld saw Mario Joyner's act, because Mario Joyner was opening for him. He
- 40:24saw the act. Even though Mario tried to be cool with him before he
- 40:29wasn't really trying to be cool with him, but then he saw the act
- 40:31and Seinfeld says somewhere it was like the actor is the currency, you know
- 40:36what I mean? So is that is that kind of how it is when
- 40:37the comedy and I be I'll be laying that shit be known because like I
- 40:43booked Matt Rooms now, I want like one of the biggest bookers in Florida
- 40:45now. So a lot of niggas be like trying to like nigga. You
- 40:49know what I'm saying. You can imagine what comes with that. Yeah,
- 40:52you can imagine what comes with that. But like, bro, if you're
- 40:54not funny nigga, what can what can we talk about? You know what?
- 41:00You know, we're not gonna be friends, We're not gonna hang out
- 41:01and we're not gonna be on shows together. Just get funny first, bro,
- 41:05and then we can figure out all the all of the rest of the
- 41:07ship. But like, Bro, we're at work. M I'm saying,
- 41:10do you want to work with the nigga that doesn't do his job correctly?
- 41:15Yeah? Exactly exactly. I recently went in and filmed the show that you
- 41:22guys did at the Improv in Orlando, the one for Cam where you were
- 41:27like the one that came out right before him and it was freaking hilarious,
- 41:31dog, And it was just dope to see kind of like even like what
- 41:36we're talking about and kind of like winding down like and even going off of
- 41:39what you're saying where you're kind of like creating your own path. Like,
- 41:43it was just dope to see that, Like you started, you know,
- 41:45where me and Quincy kind of seen where you were booking like these little shows
- 41:50and like these smaller venues around the city, you know, putting them together.
- 41:52Those were those were super dope and they went real well. And then
- 41:57it's just been elevating and slowly going up, slowly going up. Everything's just
- 42:00been turning up, and you're putting the working and you're funny because and at
- 42:04the end of the day, Bro, you can't lose if you're doing that.
- 42:07And I feel like that's something that Kat Williams has going for him too.
- 42:09He puts the work in and he's funny, So regardless of all the
- 42:13other stuff, he can't lose because he's money and he's putting the work in,
- 42:16you know. And exactly I've seen him at the CFE Arena, I
- 42:22think twice. Both times it was sold out. Brom and not even know
- 42:27like he wasn't even doing anything at the time, Like he wasn't on TV.
- 42:30He just was on Yeah, same same, he got that market he
- 42:35got that marketable image and ship. Yep. That's why it's like it just
- 42:39be making him look like a hater, because it's like, Bro, you
- 42:42got all of his success. Why do you have so much smoke for everybody?
- 42:45Why are you pray? What did Michael Blackson do to you? Why?
- 42:49Why are you why are you calling him out for being an African and
- 42:52using a fake accent? But you're a supposed pimp pretending to be a pimp.
- 42:58It's the same shit when you doing with African shit you was doing with
- 43:00the pimp shit money Mike and all that shit. You're You're you're playing a
- 43:06fictitional, fictitious personality, you know what I'm saying. So like the whole
- 43:12ship, I don't know, man, he was just daying this. Nigga
- 43:15said he made a list of three hundred comedians, Bro, three hundred comedians
- 43:22that are funnier than him, and at a time with nothing of them.
- 43:29Yeah, I counted the last per minute of three hundred comedians and I wouldn't
- 43:36stop until I got more last per minute than all of them. He only
- 43:38talks like that because he knows people don't understand those like they that's probably like
- 43:44a lot of people's first time hearing the phrase laugh permitted then stand up and
- 43:49be like, okay, one laugh who laugh? So it sounds like he's
- 43:52like this comedic mastermind, genius niggas no nigga in the world you gotta beat
- 43:59with a specific if a comedian that's sitting in a fucking comedy class or room
- 44:02or whatever and counting a nigga's laugh per minute, and even going off that
- 44:07to three hundred people, bro facts, and even going off that argument that
- 44:12case Compel's not funny because he don't get that many laughs. Like you know,
- 44:15he's not just throwing zingers out the whole time now, he just builds
- 44:19them up like beautifully. Exactly what I was saying, because I do that
- 44:22same shit sometimes where I am with a joke where I like this long,
- 44:25dramatic, deep sentimental shit and then I hit him with a nigga. It'll
- 44:30take me like a minute and a half so I get to the point.
- 44:31But you've got five laughs within my minute and a half, And you think
- 44:37that that makes you a better comedian. You could be wrong, because people
- 44:39could be laughing harder at my shit. He could be more impressed if people
- 44:44come out to laugh and they're drunk. I promise you it's not that hard
- 44:46to make them laugh. If you do it, it's nothing to get a
- 44:51quick little how high he heat. Yeah, it's all about taste exactly,
- 44:55but he tried to formulate it to make it it some mathematics equation that taste
- 45:00is irrelevant. But the nigga. Look at the nigga, does he look
- 45:07like a nigga that has wearing This nigga had a big cruise ship steering wheel
- 45:16chain on and a big old koopy that doesn't have taste. So that's why
- 45:29has so much to say about everybody else's. I will tell you one thing.
- 45:32I will tell you one thing that I did notice yesterday that made the
- 45:37interview of the cruise ship chain took me out by back. The nigga is
- 45:44savvy with his words. He's very savvy with his words, and I definitely
- 45:50peeped that. Like you know, he comes off very very articulate. Dog.
- 45:57I was looking at that chain like, yo, what the fuck is
- 46:00that? Yeah? I think it's I was looking at it. I think
- 46:04it said woke folks, coke woke. It was like, I don't know,
- 46:07but when you just yo the cruise ship, that was exactly it too.
- 46:12That was a Royal Caribbean. That's accurate. This nigga did two timeshare
- 46:20of presentations to get that nigga. Bogus, Bro that nigga. I'm sorry,
- 46:28Bro, Yo, chill out, brother. I thought Stanning was gonna
- 46:35come at him a couple of times pause because he kept saying that country bumpkin
- 46:38thing, and I'm like, I'm like, Bro, Shannon is a country
- 46:43do it on TV? Yeah? Definitely, Like you know what I'm saying,
- 46:45Like he was gonna be like hold a minute now, like talking to
- 46:51yo, hey, but real talk. Give Shannon his props, man,
- 46:54like Shannon. You know, he handled that very well, dog like,
- 46:59very very well. And I'm very impressed with how far he's come along with
- 47:01his you know what I'm saying, that TV experience, Dog, He's come
- 47:06so far it bailss for like five years. Dog. You know, it
- 47:09would have been crazy though if that was a Drink Champs episode, Oh yeah,
- 47:15oh yeah, horrible. But That's what I'm saying, Like Shannon moderated
- 47:19that very well. You know what I'm saying, I feel like Drink Champs.
- 47:22That's that ship would have been a mess. I feel like Drink Champs
- 47:24fell on Drink Champ. Oh yeah, yeah, nobody wants to go on
- 47:30there first. If when niggas does a response video on Drink Champs, you
- 47:37automatically know that ship about to be insane. Let's get the smoke out the
- 47:45way, right, Yes, Steve Harvey about to sell out with his old
- 47:47ass and you know what, man, this little ass. But that's another
- 47:53thing, bro, How is nigga trying to paint him? He told Shannon
- 47:58Sharp. Oh, I got a photograph memory, I have the cyclopedia and
- 48:01all that kind of shit. But when Santa Sharp is like Sedric gave you
- 48:07this award in two thousand and that was part of the reason why you got
- 48:10looked at for the role of Next Friday afternoxt Oh, I forgot about that.
- 48:15Oh you don't remember that this big ass thing that happened in the beginning
- 48:20of your career that opened a huge door for you. You don't remember that.
- 48:22That's true, That's true. Your narrative that these niggas is hating on
- 48:25you so you omit it. You know what I'm saying. Time, Like
- 48:31any hate he got for Cedric got just feeling his joke is justified because it's
- 48:35like, nigga, if you steal my joke, you really just think I
- 48:37ain't never gonna be shipped. That's what it is. I'm gonna get my
- 48:40lick back you. I'm about to just die in obscurity, especially before social
- 48:45media, don't do it as much no more because like that shit can it
- 48:49comes out overnight facts, But in the nineties, niggas tell your ship and
- 48:52be in Nebraska with it, and he's got no idea, you know what
- 48:55I'm saying, So don't I don't blame here for having smoke. But it's
- 49:00like, bro, if you got smoke, nigga, just keep it smoking.
- 49:01You don't gotta lie. Yeah, you know what I'm saying, and
- 49:06spend these narratives and ship, We're gonna see. We're gonna see man.
- 49:10You know what I'm saying. We're gonna see see. I haven't seen nobody
- 49:14really like But again, he didn't get that nobody that's really gonna do.
- 49:17Kevin Hart got a clean image. He's trying to touch a billion within the
- 49:22next five years. He ain't got trying to be going back and forth with
- 49:24Kevin Hart, who he talked about Tiffany Hattish Hey Ricky. Ricky Smiley responded,
- 49:31he basically just you know, took the high roll. Ricky Smiley said,
- 49:36it's all love over here, played by He already made that phone call.
- 49:42Yeah, yeah, Illuminati phone. Yeah, he ain't getting no more
- 49:45rolls, right, we gotta get that. I didn't like about that ship
- 49:53that Nigga brought up Ricky Smiley's dead son. I'm like, Nigga is playing
- 50:00don't even remember. It wasn't like it was very indirectly, but he did
- 50:02bring it up. It was indirectly talk about it. Yeah, exactly that
- 50:07that part was kind of wild. That's great, Bigga is out of pocket.
- 50:12I think he said, do you remember exactly? How I know?
- 50:14It was something like he was basically addressing that Ricky Smiley came out right after
- 50:20his son died or something. It was like indirect but it was like you
- 50:22didn't have to say that, you know. He was like, why would
- 50:24he remember? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, that part It's like, wow,
- 50:29that's like you don't Yeah, that's kind of wild. Man smoked with
- 50:38plenty of niggas, and I don't you know what I'm saying. I ain't
- 50:43never go outside like that is always about who you got smoke with? Nigga,
- 50:47what are you doing? And then you keep spinning, You keep wanting
- 50:50people to believe you not a drunk, you barely drunk. You up there
- 50:53looking pretty drunk to me, bro, because how else could you justify you
- 50:58randomly just oh, this nigga ugly little Chris shaved off of his sideburns,
- 51:01and so this nigga was talking about Chris Tucker hed Chris allegations on Chris Tucker.
- 51:09The documents came out yesterday. Where's Chris Tucker's name on their nigga?
- 51:14You gotta stand on that. You called me a pedal? Oh no,
- 51:23oh man, I hate it had to be cat man. He seemed like
- 51:28he seemed like, but I don't know, man, that nigga crashed out
- 51:31to me, Bro, I wasn't feeling that ship at all the first fifteen
- 51:35minutes. I was like, Okay, yeah, nigga, Yeah, let
- 51:37the niggas know what's up. Yeah, what's that ship went left? I'm
- 51:40like, Oh, this nigga is a maniac. Hey, that nigga should
- 51:45have put that shade down literally. Now that's a real take, though.
- 51:52I will say, prior to this conversation, I definitely was like, damn,
- 51:55this nigga really was going crazy. But when you kind of put it
- 52:00to perspective the way you put it into perspective, it definitely got me like
- 52:02kind of I want to almost rewatch it. It kind of like really like
- 52:07take it in again because like Paul's Wow, yeah, yeah, Paul's but
- 52:13but nah, like that. That's that's an interesting take, a very interesting
- 52:16take. And I'm glad we brought you on. That's why I actually wanted
- 52:19you to come on, just from your experience and perspective as the comedian.
- 52:23You know what I'm saying kind of especially in the grinding phase of your career,
- 52:27you know what I'm saying, Like you're grinding. You know what I'm
- 52:30saying. You you're not where you started, and you're not where you're you're
- 52:31you're gonna be, but you know you you're going through those growing pains.
- 52:36So I definitely wanted to get you on here to get your take on it.
- 52:39I would say that like, and this is my own personal thing.
- 52:43I don't know if other comedians feel this way. But if I have a
- 52:45huge platform, I feel like using that to call somebody unfunny. It is
- 52:50like one of the most us you can do, especially if it's niggas want
- 52:52to come up because like with with the art of comedy, you had the
- 52:58ability to curse people. You have you ever known a nigga who got clown
- 53:02so bad or something embarrassing happened to him that that became his nickname or that
- 53:07all people think of when they see them. If you can really you can
- 53:10really curse people, Like look what he sent did the job roll? He
- 53:14turned back You know what I'm saying inside the NBA bro to do anything.
- 53:17He just cursed them with like his humor inside the NBA bro. What just
- 53:23be clowning certain players and turning them into jokes and then teams don't want to
- 53:28sign them in a certain life because they're like, they're like the shocking the
- 53:30fool guy. You're saying, you you can curse people with this funny shit.
- 53:35So for you to like call out six blind blindly because now the Internet
- 53:40I've typed it in on Twitter to see what people were saying. They're just
- 53:44throwing names out there, of who he could have been talking about. You
- 53:46know what I'm now, these niggas are like have this little stigma where people
- 53:51are consuming to sit and they're like, Oh, this nigga's not funny.
- 53:53This gotta be the nigga Kat Williams was talking about. I would never call
- 53:58comedian money on a public platform like that unless I had some personal smoke with
- 54:04these niggas, and they would have they would have to speak on me first,
- 54:07like they would have to take it there with me. But I feel
- 54:09like that's like you taking it up, Like you know what I'm saying.
- 54:14There's a lot of people. I'll give you a perfect example just how my
- 54:17nigga can be blew up with him blowing up like ten other people moved out
- 54:22to Austin. That shit is a ripple effect. You know what I'm saying.
- 54:24I'm getting book shows now and getting opportunities off the one opportunity that he
- 54:30got to try to shit on another comedian that's coming up. Niggas. You
- 54:32don't know if these niggas got families. You don't know if these niggas is
- 54:37in the streets and this is like their way out. You don't know what
- 54:38the fuck is going on, but you just drunk off your own power and
- 54:43just be like I can say whatever I want to say because I can just
- 54:45go hide in my mansion. You know what I'm saying. That shit is
- 54:49like some sucker shit bro, like the whole shit. I'm like dog.
- 54:52After the first fifteens, that nigga didn't say one real nigga statement. Just
- 54:58oh this nigga said, said you the inner tain Er don't got a Netflix
- 55:00special. You can type the nigga name in Netflix right now. His special
- 55:05is right there. But it sounded good. I believe that they talk with
- 55:14all that charisma. He don't got one special on TV or Netflix? Can
- 55:17I continue? Like, nigga, you just lie? I fell again.
- 55:24A fact checker in there, wonder if it was on his side or just
- 55:28someone on the show. Oh yeah, yeah, because he got the years
- 55:30wrong. Oh yeah, he's wrong when he was talking about the oh yeah,
- 55:36the good Years. Yeah, the Kings of Comedy Ship. Yeah,
- 55:38this man really do got entertainer Live from the vill on Netflix. I just
- 55:43typed that mother right there. That's it took great special. I just watched
- 55:46it like last year. And then when I watched it, I was like
- 55:50yo, Cedric just like he legit, like look like I was on him.
- 55:54But now all this ship is coming out of here still a jokes.
- 55:57I'm like, I don't know, fifteen minutes was wrong. For fifteen minutes
- 56:06they should have ended up been right there. First fifteen was getting that boys,
- 56:13I shouldn't say said you might need to put that drink down, man,
- 56:21Bro, I appreciate you again for coming on dog. It was dope
- 56:25to get that that perspective because, like like Quincy was saying, Bro,
- 56:28I wasn't even thinking about it from that point of view, because, like
- 56:30you said, you get wrapped up in the just the entertainment side of it
- 56:35and you just enjoy it for that. But when you start picking it apart,
- 56:37it's like, oh wait, hold on, a lot of these things
- 56:40ain't how it sounded in the in the show, you know what I mean.
- 56:44So it's pretty Nigga is a gypsy, bro. What he was doing
- 56:49Nigga since he was thirteen, traveling the country still in the lining and manipulated
- 56:55how to like spin ship. That's what I That was my takeaway from it.
- 56:59I never looked at him like that. But basically, like a Carnie,
- 57:04this nigga. You got him there for like three hours. He's gonna
- 57:08he's gonna say, he's gonna reveal himself the balloons and ship. You know
- 57:13what, Nigga, he's a gypsy, so like the nigga just all he
- 57:17know is like finesse and manipulating and like Pepper, like the game and ship.
- 57:22So it is what it is. Maybe he's just trying to run the
- 57:24finest on the whole world, which I can't be mad at. You know
- 57:28what I'm saying, Get off, broke, But I see what the fun
- 57:31going on, nigga. Nigga said, I smoke more weed than Snoop.
- 57:36All right, bro, running four three have me? Yeah? The four
- 57:42three took me out. The four three Yeah yeah, I read that Cyclopedia
- 57:47by the time I was six and failed the test on purpose. All right,
- 57:50Bro, you're just you're just this master manipulator that's just something ahead of
- 57:57everybody. But somehow Kevin Hart for next you out of your spot. So
- 58:07what you're telling me, Dave Chappelle could get six Netflix, seven Netflix,
- 58:12whatever the case. And uh, you're also at the same time trying to
- 58:16spend his narrative like you can't be successful Hollywood unless you sell your soul.
- 58:21Did Chappell get everything he want out of the game and you not? I'm
- 58:24not doing no podcast Dave Chappelle. He's so raw at this ship. He
- 58:30y'all seen a special when he was talking about how that older nigga stole his
- 58:32joke and he didn't want to sell it or whatever, and the nigga did
- 58:37it anyway and so prappy with it. He turned it into material to use
- 58:40on stageat Williams. Just go on podcast and bitch about it in such as
- 58:45the entertainer stole your joke. That would have been fired to say that in
- 58:49a special. Dude like that a great prolific writer, but you're not.
- 58:55You know what I'm saying. You did too, Did y'all like Snoop had
- 59:00like a comedy show? Yeah, yeah, yeah, Nigga dona rawlings ate
- 59:04that nigga's lunch on there, bro That nigga cat was looking like an amateur
- 59:08on that. Larry went on that ship and tore that shut. I thought
- 59:13it was a bad audience, yeah, because Pat didn't do that well.
- 59:15So I'm just like, oh, maybe they just want some don That might
- 59:19be the best comedian I've ever seen live. Bro, Bro that nigga you
- 59:22want to talk about last per minutes? Oh, that's what we saw and
- 59:27when we went Yeah, I remember prov Yeah my bad, go ahead,
- 59:30you're good. I ain't shit today. Yeah yeah. No. Honestly,
- 59:34Bro, like after everything you said and just remembering the interview and everything,
- 59:37like, it just kind of seems like to me that he didn't figure out
- 59:43how to work the system the way that it was satisfactory to him, and
- 59:50he's just bitter that he wasn't able to maneuver the way he wanted a maneuver,
- 59:53you know what I'm saying, because and honestly, Bro, I can
- 59:55kind of even relate to that from the point of view of like it took
- 59:59me a while because like when you start doing music, you kind of see
- 1:00:01like what the main path is and if you're not cool with it and you
- 1:00:06don't understand what other avenues you can take, you can have that mentality too,
- 1:00:09Like, Bro, I'm not about to be here like the equivalent of
- 1:00:12the dress thing, you know what I mean. It's like I'm not about
- 1:00:14to be here throwing a dress up. I can get my music off,
- 1:00:16you know what I mean, But it don't it ain't always A or B.
- 1:00:20You know what I'm saying. There's other paths, And like you said,
- 1:00:22Bro, you figure out your own path, you sit in it,
- 1:00:25you're happy about it, and you do your thing like what Dave Chappelle did.
- 1:00:29Bro, he said, now I'm not gonna do it this way.
- 1:00:30I'm gonna do it this way. And he's doing it in a non bitter
- 1:00:35you know, he's just living in his thing. He's super successful and he's
- 1:00:38making it happen. Bro. That's why I like, it's just weird.
- 1:00:43Brokaw has made so much money off in his tours. He's selling out a
- 1:00:45rings. It has to be personal. It has to be like you have
- 1:00:51some kind of like internal shit going on with you. Bro, you're massively
- 1:00:55successful you had. I don't know if he's I mean, I'm sure a
- 1:01:00lot of people still do. But he has the respect of his peers,
- 1:01:04like comedically like people. Yeah, you know him as like one of the
- 1:01:07greats. You got ten kids, You drive whatever car you want. Even
- 1:01:12though this nigga lied and said he has every car that Prince has, Like
- 1:01:15okay, him and Prince. This nigga said he known Prince and he was
- 1:01:19twelve years old, he moved. He moved to Florida when he was thirteen,
- 1:01:23though, So what Prince was coming to Dane, Ohioan and fucking hooping
- 1:01:28with your nigga shit? Or maybe it's that complex where he has that that
- 1:01:38regret that he didn't do the things that people did to get where they are.
- 1:01:43You know what I mean, I have no regrets. If I'm up
- 1:01:45fifty million, I'm fifty you know what I'm saying me neither neither. If
- 1:01:50you're doing one hundred cities all tours, I'll say, fifty bands a show,
- 1:01:54he gotta be making five million a year, you know what I'm saying.
- 1:01:59And that's just all ticket sales. He doing merch and whatever side.
- 1:02:06What do you do about, bro For nineteen years you've been getting it like
- 1:02:09this? Yeah, man, it's like you do your own thing. You
- 1:02:16let people do their own thing, and if it's whatever, it's not for
- 1:02:20you. It's just not for you, you know what I'm saying. Like,
- 1:02:22you don't got to bring down somebody else's empire to bring years up.
- 1:02:24You know, everybody can live in that space. Is something me and Joe
- 1:02:27was talking about recently too, just about like gatekeeping ship period, you know,
- 1:02:31like just information or different things. It's like, bro, what's the
- 1:02:35point Because I can, I can give you the game, It don't mean
- 1:02:37that you're gonna have the same drive and will that I got, and you're
- 1:02:39gonna make it happen the same way I am. You know what I'm saying.
- 1:02:43It don't matter. It don't make no difference to me. I still
- 1:02:45got my lane, you know. But yeah, man, Dog again,
- 1:02:51appreciate you coming on before we get off. I wanted to say this because
- 1:02:53and it might not translate to the podcast, Dog, but it's so hilarious.
- 1:02:58I went out to a comedy show that you were hosting. It was
- 1:03:01like a comedy competition. Dog and two of the dudes that was like in
- 1:03:06like one of the like elimination rounds. It was two white comedians, right,
- 1:03:09and they come up to the stage to like go through the voting portion,
- 1:03:14right, and Jari just really Jar's like walking to the judges and like
- 1:03:19it's like in between like the music break, it's like real nonchalant, like
- 1:03:22he just brings the mic up real quick and he's like, all right,
- 1:03:25man, now it's time for the Battle of squid Billies, y'all. My
- 1:03:30gosh, Bro, I it in their room last like didn't even say it,
- 1:03:38like it was a group just like Yo Battle the squid Bullies. I'm
- 1:03:42like, Yo was so money yea believe that ship man? And I'm looking
- 1:03:51around like it was like two or three people laughing. I'm like, there's
- 1:03:52no way y'all ain't laughing. So funny like fucking with comedians like in environments
- 1:03:59like that, because competition it's adds like an extra layer of nerves, like
- 1:04:02when you fuck with them, they don't be like in the moment because yeah,
- 1:04:08yeah, so nervous. So like that's why I'd be fucking with them
- 1:04:11niggas, but like not of mind them, Like look, yeah, relaxed.
- 1:04:15You know that's funny? Is that funniness? Bro? Like Like like
- 1:04:19I was saying about comedy in our group chat and I'll kind of like wrap
- 1:04:23it up with this, Like comedy and like skateboarding are two things where it's
- 1:04:27like nobody can tell you you're good or not. You can either do it
- 1:04:30or you can't, and the results speak for themselves, right, And like
- 1:04:32even in that little moment, Bro, you're hosting a comedy competition, you're
- 1:04:35shining just how funny you are you know what I'm saying, And going back
- 1:04:40to the Cat Williams thing, It's like, bro people funnier they not,
- 1:04:42regardless of what you say, regardless of what you want to spend the narrative
- 1:04:45as if you got it, you can make it happen for sure. Before
- 1:04:50we let you go, Jar, you want to let the people know where
- 1:04:53they can find you. Anything you got going on coming up, y'all can
- 1:04:57find me on social media. Jarry Knows is there in the corner. You
- 1:05:00see it. That's on everything? And yeah, man, every I just
- 1:05:05started a room. Well I didn't start. I'm picking up a room.
- 1:05:10Another comedian started. He just moved out to Austin. He about to blow
- 1:05:12up. It's a the name Jake ricca Uh. It's a Barley and Vine.
- 1:05:17That's the name of the venue. It's in the Mill District in Orlando.
- 1:05:20Every Thursday, it starts at eight. Every Saturday it starts at ten.
- 1:05:25Y'all pull up and I'm producing Don't Tell comedy here in Orlando now.
- 1:05:29So we're gonna have a lot of secret shows popping up all over different venues
- 1:05:33and a lot of cool spots. So if y'all y'all into that kind of
- 1:05:35thing. We got celebrity droppings on that all the time, like big Name.
- 1:05:40I think Bill Bird just did the Don't Tell in Boston. Like anytime
- 1:05:44celebrities being town, you never know who you want to see. So I
- 1:05:46mean, just tap in, follow me, and keep up with what's going
- 1:05:49on. Man. Facts, Man, We're definitely gonna be tapped in.
- 1:05:53I'm gonna be coming out to a lot more shows up in there. A
- 1:05:55few recently, but definitely gonna be tapped in. It's I'm excited to see
- 1:06:00what's gonna happen with you, bro. You know, you're definitely doing your
- 1:06:01thing, and everything's just been lining up. Like Quincy said, you know
- 1:06:04where you started in the grind, You're not where you finished, but you're
- 1:06:08in the grind and you're making it happen. Best of luck where everything that's
- 1:06:12that's coming up with this new year twenty twenty four. You know what I'm
- 1:06:15saying. I know you've been just formulating your plan, bro, and and
- 1:06:17it's dope to see it just coming to fruition, you know what I mean.
- 1:06:20I appreciate you boys, man, Thanks for having me. Yes sir,
- 1:06:25everybody else, stay better say it. Don't put pusty dot no,
