- 0:21So welcome to the coop and let's start your day off in a
- 0:24fantastic way. Hey everybody, good morning.
- 0:30Let's talk about prompts. So it's not a term that's
- 0:34normally used, you know, when you think about it in terms of
- 0:37self development or your goals or anything else.
- 0:41It's we don't use the word prompt.
- 0:43It's just not one of those things.
- 0:44And I'm not talking about being on time, like that's a very
- 0:46prompt person. I'm talking about prompts that
- 0:49show up that like initiate things for us so we can be
- 0:52prompted into something. There's a prompt for us to look
- 0:56at and they show up all day every day.
- 1:01We noticed something and that can be a prompt for us to be
- 1:03able to take action, action move forward.
- 1:06So I'll give you a good example. Yesterday I was out walking was
- 1:10very hot while I was coaching, unusually hot.
- 1:14It's not supposed to be this hot this time of year, but it was
- 1:16very hot. And I decided to come up and
- 1:19pace on the porch because we have ceiling fans on the porch.
- 1:23So I was like, OK, I'm going to pace up there.
- 1:25So at least I have air moving because it was very stagnant and
- 1:28it felt very heavy. So that awareness of the air
- 1:32prompted me to move to the porch.
- 1:34So then when I got on the porch, I noticed that huh, OK, the
- 1:39railings have like a lot of little frog poops on them.
- 1:45Now this isn't something that is is a bad thing.
- 1:49Like I want frogs all over my porch because they take care of
- 1:52mosquitoes and bugs and I rarely have other bug problems because
- 1:56I have the frogs, but I typically remember to come out
- 2:00and wipe off this and and they don't look like poop.
- 2:03This is the crazy thing. They just look like little tiny,
- 2:06you know, spots that are there. So here I am.
- 2:09I got I get up and I see it and I'm like, OK, go get the dust
- 2:12pan. And I go along and I sweep them
- 2:14all off and I'm thinking to myself, isn't that funny that
- 2:17the prompt of the poop made me, you know, it prompted me to go
- 2:21and get the dustpan and clean it.
- 2:23Then it was like, oh, well, I should really get the Clorox
- 2:25clean up so that I could wipe it down and clean it up the right
- 2:29way. Now that's not something me and
- 2:31my organic world, people would be shocked that I use Clorox
- 2:34cleanup, but I do because I only have to use it once.
- 2:38I put it on the rag, I wipe it down, it's done and boom, I'm
- 2:41not spraying all kinds of stuff. But then I go back and I'm like,
- 2:43OK, well, now I look and I say I should probably sweep because
- 2:47there's the leaves are coming off of we have a lot of little
- 2:51maples that are bonsaied on our porch and it's starting to turn
- 2:56fall. So some of the leaves are
- 2:57starting to turn and they're starting to fall off.
- 2:59So I'm like, OK, I should probably we sweep that up.
- 3:02And I started laughing about how there was a train of prompts
- 3:06that just kept showing up, showing up, showing up, showing
- 3:09up. And one thing led to another and
- 3:10LED to another. And that's how our days often
- 3:13go. One thing prompts to another
- 3:15thing prompts to another thing prompts to another.
- 3:17And before you know it, you're like, how did this train get me
- 3:20to this spot? Because I didn't even intend to
- 3:22do this, which is exactly what happened to me yesterday.
- 3:26Because by the time I finished coaching and by the time I
- 3:30finished cleaning all of that up at the end of the night, it was
- 3:33way later than I thought I was going to go.
- 3:35And I was just like, interesting how I'm happy it got all done.
- 3:41And I'm happy that I looked at it and I noticed it, but I
- 3:45didn't anticipate that I those prompts show up and then the
- 3:50question is, do they need my attention right in that minute?
- 3:53Do I need to follow through in those minutes or should I have
- 3:58just said, OK, I will do that tomorrow when I have more time,
- 4:02which is today. Interesting.
- 4:05I didn't do it that way. I just said, you know what, I'm
- 4:07going to put it on. And it prompted me then, which
- 4:10is just so funny because now it was already later and I was
- 4:13like, OK, well now I'm just going to say I'm just going to
- 4:16make this a stacked event today. And I'm just going to dump on
- 4:21the fact that I knew I wanted to go.
- 4:23I'm getting my hair cut today. So, you know, anyone who has
- 4:26followed me for years knows that I don't like to go to the
- 4:29hairdresser to get my hair colored and I do it myself.
- 4:32So then I was like, OK, I'm going to go in and I'm going to
- 4:34do that tonight. And then I started going
- 4:37through, OK, I think I want to go through and do a brain dump
- 4:39also of all the stuff that I need to teach myself on these
- 4:44courses that I'm taking. Like, I need to go in and make
- 4:46sure I'm, I'm doing this and I'm doing this and I'm doing this.
- 4:49Oh my gosh. It was like such a wonderful
- 4:52thing to purge it all out, stack it all up and get it all done.
- 4:55And it all started with the little prompt of that, you know,
- 5:00being too hot walking and saying, I wish I had air.
- 5:02We do have air. You just have to get under the
- 5:04fans. OK, let me go to the porch.
- 5:06If all of that stuff hadn't lined up with the having zero
- 5:12wind and the heat and all of that, I wouldn't have gotten as
- 5:15much done as I did because it all started with that prompt way
- 5:20back at the beginning. But that's the point.
- 5:22Look for the prompts because sometimes they lead you right
- 5:24back to a great place. All right, my friends, I hope
- 5:27you have a blessed day and I'll see you tomorrow.
- 5:30Bye.
