- 0:51Speaker 2: Coming up today, we'll hear in a bit from Jared mccannon,
- 0:54Speaker 2: one of two Kracken veteran goal scorers on the sheet
- 0:56Speaker 2: last night in Winnipeg, plus Freddy goodrou due to come
- 1:00Speaker 2: back to Minnesota for the first time since leaving last
- 1:03Speaker 2: offseason via trade, and we'll hear more reaction from crackenhead
- 1:07Speaker 2: coach Blane Lambert. The Cracking heading into Winnipeg, knew that
- 1:11Speaker 2: this matchup had must win written all over and facing
- 1:15Speaker 2: a Jets team as equal in the playoff mix and
- 1:19Speaker 2: fighting for their playoff lives as well. M Kracken aiming
- 1:22Speaker 2: to run the table in three matchups against the Jets
- 1:26Speaker 2: and looking to start period one soaring on the strength
- 1:30Speaker 2: of veteran wings Everly thanks behind the goal backhand and
- 1:34Speaker 2: wrap around save. This may rebound for Everly and the slot.
- 1:36Speaker 1: He's goals.
- 1:40Speaker 2: That's a goal that defines leadership. Jordan Everly first one
- 1:44Speaker 2: on the board this evening, ten minutes and forty three
- 1:48Speaker 2: seconds remainding in period one, he follows up his own
- 1:51Speaker 2: play with a backhander from the slot to make it
- 1:55Speaker 2: one nothing cracking.
- 1:56Speaker 3: Well winnipick and collapsed to the blue paint in front
- 1:58Speaker 3: of hell of buck d there is You're Nipperly brought
- 2:00Speaker 3: that puck from behind the net and tried to do
- 2:02Speaker 3: a wrap round on your back end. Helibu gives up
- 2:05Speaker 3: the big seaf there, but he also gives up a
- 2:07Speaker 3: rebound and everydy grabs it, goes east to west across
- 2:11Speaker 3: the front of all those bodies, puts it over that blocker,
- 2:13Speaker 3: side one up and Saftley hangs.
- 2:15Speaker 2: On to it, looks for a scene, throws the back
- 2:17Speaker 2: Morrissey one time are deflecting just one of the net
- 2:20Speaker 2: rebound tames.
- 2:20Speaker 3: He scores.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Veteran presence, picking up here to nine out of the
- 2:29Speaker 2: gates Shotathan tape Say power play goal, his tenth on
- 2:33Speaker 2: this season, going right toward the front of the nets,
- 2:37Speaker 2: as he has always done in his NHL career. It
- 2:40Speaker 2: is a power play goal for the Jets with seven
- 2:43Speaker 2: to twenty one left in period one. This game is
- 2:45Speaker 2: tied one to one and so done. Had that one
- 2:47Speaker 2: taken in a high blocker on Helibut, Jets got the
- 2:49Speaker 2: right wing schrifleet whist Py mingan backhander, had a savest
- 2:53Speaker 2: may by Philip Grubauer for Gabriel Ballardi out of the
- 2:57Speaker 2: right corner.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Tam swings one of the net.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Ballardi and Frenny score a broken play benefitting Winnipeg. On
- 3:08Speaker 2: the power play es Gabriel Mallardy position between the circles
- 3:12Speaker 2: picks up this oney ninth on the season. Winnipeg with
- 3:17Speaker 2: two goals, both coming via the man advantage, and they
- 3:21Speaker 2: had taken their first lead this evening.
- 3:23Speaker 1: At two to one.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Apie for Morrissey looks to his right, Carrie two was
- 3:27Speaker 2: left still, hangs on to it, throws it back shifely
- 3:30Speaker 2: to Connor one. Timery scores.
- 3:36Speaker 3: That buck appeared to.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Shane Jangles on the way in, but Winnipeg got the
- 3:41Speaker 2: look they wanted and from that familiar duo, Kyle Connor
- 3:45Speaker 2: picks up the goal. Third man advantage goal of the
- 3:48Speaker 2: night for Winnipeg overall for Connor, number thirty seven. The
- 3:53Speaker 2: Jets have scored three unanswered goals to lead this one
- 3:57Speaker 2: three to one. Ft picked up by Cocko leading one
- 4:00Speaker 2: had to McCann one man to beat McCann into the
- 4:02Speaker 2: Zonies goals. Jaron McCann using the screen by the mess
- 4:10Speaker 2: to Connor two perfection. That's a big goal for the Kraken.
- 4:14Speaker 2: What's seventeen thirty two to go and period three. Jared
- 4:17Speaker 2: McCann on the season picks up number nineteen, the Crackinger
- 4:22Speaker 2: back in the game, trailing Winnipeg three to two.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Well, it was Coppocaco that picked up that puck just
- 4:28Speaker 3: inside the crack of blue line, got us head up
- 4:30Speaker 3: and found McCann down that left side. Instead of going
- 4:33Speaker 3: hard down the left wing, McCann gets the blue line,
- 4:35Speaker 3: cuts to the middle and as you said, uses that
- 4:38Speaker 3: screen to get his shot off. He's got nineteen in
- 4:41Speaker 3: the season. Now for number nineteen. This game is three
- 4:43Speaker 3: to two.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Riphly throw to high sand burteen whate up save us
- 4:46Speaker 2: made by the court, buck Is loose, scramble toward the crease.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Louise again Connor couldn't get there, no a second chance.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Connery scores. Kyle Connor's second goal of the game, finished
- 5:01Speaker 2: inside lap circle for forty one to go in period three,
- 5:06Speaker 2: as Winnipeg coming on top on that battle and they
- 5:10Speaker 2: take their biggest lead this evening at five too well,
- 5:13Speaker 2: the Krakens showing promise, but Winnipeg's runs and their power
- 5:16Speaker 2: play too much to overcome. Last night, the Kraken falling
- 5:19Speaker 2: six to two to the Winnipeg Jets, as Winnipeg salvaging
- 5:24Speaker 2: one win out of three tries against the Kraken in
- 5:27Speaker 2: the head to head series. Jordan Everlely got his twenty
- 5:30Speaker 2: fifth goal of the season back in period one. Jared
- 5:33Speaker 2: McCann also with now nineteen in just his forty ninth game,
- 5:37Speaker 2: putting him on pace for a thirty one goal season
- 5:40Speaker 2: over the course of an eighty two game schedule. Of course,
- 5:43Speaker 2: he has missed time this year due to injury. After
- 5:47Speaker 2: the game, here's more reaction from McCann in Winnipeg.
- 5:51Speaker 4: I feel like a lot of a lot of games
- 5:52Speaker 4: this year, we've kind of haven't been able to kill
- 5:54Speaker 4: off and we lose a lot of moments something. You know,
- 5:56Speaker 4: it's it's tough because I know where guys are trying
- 5:59Speaker 4: and where guys are trying to block shots and do
- 6:00Speaker 4: the right things, and you know, I can't give you
- 6:03Speaker 4: a reason why you know that's not going our way,
- 6:06Speaker 4: but you know it's, uh, it's frustrating for everybody. We
- 6:08Speaker 4: all see it. We're we're trying to stay positive and
- 6:11Speaker 4: grind throat.
- 6:11Speaker 5: How did you think how you guys started that game,
- 6:14Speaker 5: like back in October when anything, they.
- 6:16Speaker 4: Had hardly any shots, right, Yeah, I felt like we
- 6:19Speaker 4: controlled a lot of the play in the first period
- 6:20Speaker 4: and I had a lot of good, good looks and
- 6:23Speaker 4: you know, especially that for our fourth line, there was
- 6:25Speaker 4: was creating a lot of offense for us in the
- 6:27Speaker 4: A zone and working them down low. So you know,
- 6:30Speaker 4: obviously we're we're all pretty frustrated with the way things
- 6:32Speaker 4: have gotten the last nothing of bet here, and but
- 6:35Speaker 4: you know, we're we're gonna stay together. We're gonna stay
- 6:37Speaker 4: as team.
- 6:38Speaker 2: To what extent do you.
- 6:39Speaker 5: Feel like you guys played within your structure tonight. It's
- 6:41Speaker 5: kind of a big theme that we have heard it
- 6:43Speaker 5: this morning.
- 6:43Speaker 4: Yeah, shots to the net. You know, when when things
- 6:47Speaker 4: aren't going well, you try to simplify, you know, keep
- 6:50Speaker 4: it simple and get pucks the naked bodies in front
- 6:53Speaker 4: and create traffic, make a hard hard to see them
- 6:55Speaker 4: and kind of get a greasy one.
- 6:56Speaker 2: So cracking penalty kill going through a tough night, giving
- 6:59Speaker 2: up a three for three effort to Winnipeg on the
- 7:03Speaker 2: power play as they got goals on the Manavanda jeach
- 7:06Speaker 2: from Jonathan Taves, Gabriel Villardi, and Kyle Connor. Freddie Goodrou
- 7:10Speaker 2: will be back in Minnesota for the first time since
- 7:13Speaker 2: leaving the Wild to Seattle via trade this last offseason,
- 7:17Speaker 2: and he shared more on the penalty kill from last
- 7:19Speaker 2: night's game way and the factor a bad balance is
- 7:22Speaker 2: versus execution.
- 7:23Speaker 6: I think when things are going right, you feel like
- 7:25Speaker 6: everybody's connected and on the same page. I think it's
- 7:29Speaker 6: a question of confidence too, when you're just thinking about
- 7:34Speaker 6: killing it instead of being on your heels like trying
- 7:39Speaker 6: for them to score. It's two different mentality. Once they scored. Once,
- 7:44Speaker 6: you know, maybe it's tougher to get back in that
- 7:46Speaker 6: mentality after, but we got to find a way. It's
- 7:49Speaker 6: I think that's the mindset is just go out there
- 7:51Speaker 6: and be proud to kill the play.
- 7:53Speaker 7: And didn't do that. To know, you mentioned the mindset.
- 7:56Speaker 7: The guys came in pretty determined. It looked like this
- 7:58Speaker 7: morning in practice, and then you know, the game started
- 8:00Speaker 7: off very well for you guys. You limited them in shots.
- 8:03Speaker 7: I mean, where where do you Where do you go
- 8:05Speaker 7: from here? Now that it's.
- 8:07Speaker 6: About it's about the culture. You know, it's you gotta
- 8:11Speaker 6: it doesn't matter where you're at, it's uh, you just
- 8:14Speaker 6: gotta keep you know, going with your identity and uh.
- 8:19Speaker 6: The most important part for me is to to stick together,
- 8:22Speaker 6: be together doing it as a as a united team.
- 8:26Speaker 6: And we are that. You know, this group cares about
- 8:29Speaker 6: each other and that's the most important thing is to
- 8:32Speaker 6: keep fighting for it doesn't matter if standings are tougher
- 8:35Speaker 6: and stuff like that, doesn't matter. You just got to
- 8:37Speaker 6: keep doing the right things and do it for each other.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Here's where special teams made an impact. Winnipeg got their
- 8:42Speaker 2: first three goals via the man advantage, taking a three
- 8:45Speaker 2: to one lead by twelve oh nine a period two.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Five on five the Crack and held them off the
- 8:51Speaker 2: board all the way until the five fifty nine mark
- 8:54Speaker 2: a period three, whereas the Kraken scored both their goals
- 8:58Speaker 2: at even strained courtesy Jordan Eberley and Jared mccamm. But
- 9:02Speaker 2: of course, special teams a big part of it, and
- 9:05Speaker 2: not just for the Crack and penalty kill side. They
- 9:08Speaker 2: failed to even draw a penalty at all for the
- 9:11Speaker 2: entire game on Monday night. And here's reaction from Cracking
- 9:14Speaker 2: head coach Lane Lambert, including the goaltending situation where Philip
- 9:19Speaker 2: Grubauer left midway did an injury for Joey to cord I.
- 9:23Speaker 5: Thought, five on five without first period was one of
- 9:24Speaker 5: our best periods we've had in a while, you know.
- 9:28Speaker 5: And then you know, we we took a couple of penalties,
- 9:33Speaker 5: We got a couple of bad breaks, you know, going
- 9:36Speaker 5: it off lingern stick, it's Lingard's foot goes right to Vallardi.
- 9:40Speaker 5: You know, just kind of a little bit of anything
- 9:42Speaker 5: gang go wrong will go wrong in that, you know,
- 9:44Speaker 5: in this situation right now. I didn't think we were
- 9:49Speaker 5: great in the second period. Uh you know, five on
- 9:52Speaker 5: five as much as we were in the first. We
- 9:54Speaker 5: gave up too many chances in the second and third period.
- 9:57Speaker 5: But uh, you know we the special teams hurt us
- 10:03Speaker 5: tonight when.
- 10:05Speaker 7: Things are going good. For your penalty kill, I mean,
- 10:07Speaker 7: what does that look like for not that.
- 10:11Speaker 5: You know, I thought, uh, it looks like a more commitment.
- 10:15Speaker 5: I thought we could have had at least tried to
- 10:17Speaker 5: get a shot block on their first goal that went
- 10:19Speaker 5: off the end wall, and I mean there's a balance
- 10:21Speaker 5: coming over top of the net, you know, like I said,
- 10:24Speaker 5: just we're not getting the brakes. But you make your
- 10:26Speaker 5: own breaks too, you know. I thought our structure was
- 10:30Speaker 5: okay on their second goal. Again we don't make a play.
- 10:33Speaker 5: And the third goal, our structure was alright on that
- 10:35Speaker 5: one as well, and it goes off Lingering and in
- 10:37Speaker 5: the net. So you know, these are just these are
- 10:41Speaker 5: just things that are are happening right now, and you
- 10:45Speaker 5: know we've got to we've got to stop the bleeding.
- 10:49Speaker 5: You know, it's about for me, it's about pride right now.
- 10:53Speaker 7: Our came out of the game and it looked like
- 10:55Speaker 7: he was shaking up with what what update? Do you
- 10:57Speaker 7: have any any update?
- 11:00Speaker 5: What did you think about how cal Fleury and Vinceton
- 11:02Speaker 5: looked together? I thought, you know, I thought, uh, Fleur
- 11:06Speaker 5: played okay. I thought he started a little bit slow
- 11:08Speaker 5: and got better as a game went on, which is
- 11:10Speaker 5: what I expect, you know, from a guy who hasn't
- 11:11Speaker 5: played for a little bit. So I thought they were fine.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Mars and Riker Evans.
- 11:18Speaker 5: I thought that was good too. I you know, I
- 11:20Speaker 5: like Rikers game these days. I think he's competing and hard.
- 11:23Speaker 5: I think he's skate. I think he's moving fox. I
- 11:25Speaker 5: think we're seeing some good strides from a young Riker Evans.
- 11:28Speaker 3: I mean, maybe, in a little bit more of a
- 11:29Speaker 3: personal note, your nephew Brad is seemingly developed into what
- 11:33Speaker 3: looks like an everyday nahl ort and a shot tonight
- 11:35Speaker 3: for a bowle.
- 11:36Speaker 4: What have you seen from him?
- 11:38Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean he's uh, you know, he's worked on
- 11:41Speaker 5: his game. He works on his game. You know, he's
- 11:44Speaker 5: got skill, he's got vision, you know. Obviously, you know,
- 11:48Speaker 5: we gave him a little too much base there to
- 11:50Speaker 5: take a shot tonight, and he made he made good
- 11:52Speaker 5: on it. Turning the page to tomorrow. Obviously, the guy's
- 11:55Speaker 5: just right back at it here. What needs to rebound
- 11:57Speaker 5: in the team's game, Well, we have to be ready
- 11:59Speaker 5: to play. It's back to back. We're gonna have to
- 12:03Speaker 5: be better on our special teams. And then when I
- 12:05Speaker 5: say special teams pending, Okay, we didn't get a power
- 12:06Speaker 5: play tonight, which is outrageous that you know, one power
- 12:10Speaker 5: playing the game, but we didn't. We have to find
- 12:13Speaker 5: a way to dig in. And you know, like I
- 12:16Speaker 5: said right now, you know, we have an ownership that
- 12:19Speaker 5: gives us everything that we need. We have a fan
- 12:22Speaker 5: base that is behind us all the way, you know,
- 12:25Speaker 5: through good and bad, you know, and we have to
- 12:30Speaker 5: find a way to you know, be professionals here and
- 12:35Speaker 5: show up and play to the best of our abilities,
- 12:39Speaker 5: no excuses. And that's about personal.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Pres So what does a wait and see situation on
- 12:44Speaker 2: grow Bauer with the crack and carrying three goaltenders on
- 12:48Speaker 2: this trip Joey to court finishing Monday Night's game, giving
- 12:51Speaker 2: up two goals on twelve shots after grew Bauer had
- 12:54Speaker 2: fifteen saves on eighteen shots. Matt Murray is also a
- 12:58Speaker 2: backup option on the Kraken side, and should he play
- 13:02Speaker 2: in this evening's game, it would be his first time
- 13:04Speaker 2: in net since the fifteenth of November against San Jose,
- 13:09Speaker 2: and Murray looking to make his sixth appearance. For his
- 13:11Speaker 2: next time in net for this regular season against Minnesota,
- 13:16Speaker 2: the Kraken looking to salvage one win out of three
- 13:18Speaker 2: tries against the Wild again. This is their only trip
- 13:21Speaker 2: into the Twin Cities for this regular season. As Minnesota
- 13:25Speaker 2: trying to fight for home ice advantage in the opening
- 13:28Speaker 2: round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs and looking very much
- 13:31Speaker 2: like that it will be a first round matchup coming
- 13:34Speaker 2: their way against the Dallas Stars, the only question is
- 13:38Speaker 2: who's gonna have home ice advantage. Dallas right now owning
- 13:41Speaker 2: a two point edge over Minnesota for second place in
- 13:44Speaker 2: the Central Division, they are just two points apart. This
- 13:48Speaker 2: matchup heavily favors Minnesota as a Krack and aiming for
- 13:52Speaker 2: their fifth win in fifteen tries against Minnesota, They are
- 13:55Speaker 2: looking to snap a four game winless skit against the
- 13:57Speaker 2: Wild and earn their first win in Minnesota since October
- 14:01Speaker 2: twelfth of twenty twenty four, when the krack In adds
- 14:04Speaker 2: the Wild in a five four shootout victory. Among those
- 14:08Speaker 2: to watch out four, Ryan Hartman's got points in six
- 14:11Speaker 2: consecutive games, ten points in that span. Carill caprisod points
- 14:16Speaker 2: also in four straight games. He's got seven points in
- 14:19Speaker 2: that span, and he leads a Wild right now with
- 14:22Speaker 2: eighty seven points and forty three goals. Matt Boldy second
- 14:26Speaker 2: behind him in the goal scoring department with forty one.
- 14:29Speaker 2: And also, by the way, there's Quinn Hughes that you
- 14:31Speaker 2: got to deal with seventy four points in seventy one
- 14:34Speaker 2: games that tied for fourth in scoring right now amongst
- 14:38Speaker 2: all NHL defensemen. Can this be the point throw where
- 14:41Speaker 2: the krack and get back on the winning path with
- 14:43Speaker 2: six games left in the regular season. We'll talk more
- 14:46Speaker 2: about it at four thirty face offs at five from
- 14:49Speaker 2: Grand Casino Arena, and we hope that you can join
- 14:51Speaker 2: us across the global Credit Union crack In Audio network
- 14:55Speaker 2: once again. Everett fits you Alkiniski on the call I'll
- 14:58Speaker 2: be with you by the way on site for f
- 15:00Speaker 2: pre game and the intermissions as well. Talk to you
