- 0:03Speaker 1: All right, Well, shortly after the show on Thursday, so
- 0:07Speaker 1: I was unable to include it in the that day's
- 0:10Speaker 1: geek News. It was released the official teaser trailer for
- 0:16Speaker 1: Supergirl Supergirl. This is.
- 0:31Speaker 2: It's a crypto peeing on Superman's picture on.
- 0:35Speaker 1: The paper this time.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Let's get job, buddy.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Yeah, it's uh.
- 0:44Speaker 2: This is going to be a different take from the Superman.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Movie because this is based on a comic book mini
- 0:53Speaker 1: series called Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow. And let's be honest, babe,
- 1:04Speaker 1: it's not a very high barty clear. Now. Supergirl likes
- 1:10Speaker 1: to go to planets that have a a red sum
- 1:15Speaker 1: not a yellow sun. Yeah, because she doesn't have powers there,
- 1:18Speaker 1: which means she can get drunk.
- 1:21Speaker 2: She's a party girl.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Okay, yes, no, wait, so she doesn't I want to
- 1:27Speaker 3: get drunk if if she has.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Superpower, she can't get drunk.
- 1:30Speaker 1: Oh she can't, she can't her body metabolizes the alcohol.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Okay, So she's.
- 1:38Speaker 1: A universe hopping party girl in her early twenties thrown
- 1:44Speaker 1: into intergalactic battles. No, it's a pretty small group of
- 1:48Speaker 1: two on a mission of vengeance on behalf of an
- 1:52Speaker 1: alien girl Ruthie.
- 1:57Speaker 2: He sees the good in everyone and I see the truth.
- 2:03Speaker 1: But it's it's based on this comic book Supergirl, Woman
- 2:08Speaker 1: of Tomorrow. Gillespie, who wrote the script, said it's really
- 2:13Speaker 1: an anti hero story. She's got a lot of demons,
- 2:16Speaker 1: a lot of baggage coming into this, which is very
- 2:19Speaker 1: different from where Superman is in his life.
- 2:22Speaker 2: And James Gunn, who did not.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Write or direct this, by the way, produced he's you know,
- 2:27Speaker 1: he's just in charge of DC Studios. He said so
- 2:30Speaker 1: many times female female superheroes are so perfect. She's not
- 2:35Speaker 1: that at all like male superheroes have been allowed to
- 2:38Speaker 1: be for a while.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Supergirl is going to be messy. So there you go.
- 2:44Speaker 2: It looks terrific.
- 2:44Speaker 1: It's uh, let's see the open It does open in
- 2:49Speaker 1: where is that.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Summer? Yeah?
- 2:56Speaker 1: But yeah, anyway, that's that's very cool. Another very cool trailer. Oh,
- 3:01Speaker 1: and Rob reminds me she's not so much a party
- 3:04Speaker 1: girl as she's dealing with PTSD because her entire planet.
- 3:08Speaker 1: She was there when Krypton was destroyed, not like Clark
- 3:12Speaker 1: who was sent away before it was destroyed. She had
- 3:14Speaker 1: to watch it all happen.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Yeah, that'll do something to you, which will mess you up.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Did you say who's in this?
- 3:21Speaker 2: Did you mention the actresses? Let's see Millie Alcock.
- 3:28Speaker 3: Oh, I know who that is.
- 3:29Speaker 2: She's from House of the Dragon.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Yeah, she was in Game of Thrones and I first
- 3:32Speaker 3: saw her in this great tim mentioned and it.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Was funny because James Gunn said, we're casting Supergirl, what
- 3:39Speaker 1: about that girl from House of the Dragon. I like
- 3:41Speaker 1: that show, you know, And that's how she got the job.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Was Actually another trailer that we got is for street Fighter,
- 3:51Speaker 1: the Street Fighter movie based on the game. Now, as
- 3:54Speaker 1: you recall, there's Mortal Kombat right then they're street Fighter.
- 3:58Speaker 1: They're very I mean they're fighting games. They're similar, but
- 4:01Speaker 1: they're also very different, especially in the look and style.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Now, the Street Fighter trailer.
- 4:20Speaker 1: I mean it's it's like cartoon, you know, it's.
- 4:35Speaker 2: But it's yeah, it's it's got a huge cast.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Most of the characters from the game, and some that
- 4:40Speaker 1: are only in the game just briefly are in it.
- 4:45Speaker 2: But the most interesting.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Casting, I mean, you got Jason Momoa as Blanca, who's
- 4:51Speaker 1: this big green alien you know that makes sense and everything.
- 4:54Speaker 2: A couple of interesting casting. Orville Peck as Vega.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Figure he's the singer. Yeah, Eric andre As Don Savage,
- 5:04Speaker 1: who is like the host of the game. It's it's
- 5:08Speaker 1: very funny. But the strangest casting of them all is now,
- 5:15Speaker 1: remember when they did the Street Fighter movie before Raoul
- 5:18Speaker 1: Julia played this character m Bison, David Deshmollion is cast.
- 5:24Speaker 2: As this fighting character.
- 5:26Speaker 3: It's kind of hard.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Skinny little dude.
- 5:29Speaker 3: Seen him in a lot of stuff. He was in
- 5:31Speaker 3: that Late Night with the Devil.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Yeah, he was Desk Mouch.
- 5:39Speaker 3: He's been in dozens of things.
- 5:41Speaker 2: He's always a bad guy. No often. I Kyle Mooney
- 5:48Speaker 2: as Marvin.
- 5:49Speaker 1: I mean, it's it's such an odd cast and an
- 5:51Speaker 1: odd looking film.
- 5:53Speaker 2: I hope it works. I hope it works. Then the other.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Little bit of a trailer that we got to look
- 5:59Speaker 1: at was the you got like twenty seconds of this
- 6:02Speaker 1: new Green Lantern TV series because it's it's all tucked
- 6:06Speaker 1: inside of this coming in twenty twenty six on HBO
- 6:10Speaker 1: MAC all of these things. It's all the shows, you know,
- 6:13Speaker 1: so you get all the shows, but you get.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Like twenty seconds of the Green Lantern. It's called Lanterns.
- 6:21Speaker 3: I trained my entire life for this.
- 6:23Speaker 2: You're not ready to get from the class tip orring
- 6:25Speaker 2: to say, you all and that's about all you get.
- 6:32Speaker 1: But it looks like a cop show, which is what
- 6:34Speaker 1: it's going to be, is there.
- 6:36Speaker 2: You know, it's like I'm getting too old for this
- 6:38Speaker 2: s kind of thing.
- 6:39Speaker 3: Did you see Brian Fuller has a new movie coming out,
- 6:43Speaker 3: I Did Not Dust Bunny. Yeah, with Mad's Michelson. It
- 6:47Speaker 3: should be really good. Yeah. Well, I know you'll talk
- 6:50Speaker 3: about it.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Next event eventually, let's see.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Anyway, So there's all that, and then Disney has agreed
- 6:57Speaker 1: to a licensing deal with an open AI company called Sora.
- 7:02Speaker 1: And what it is is it's a three year licensing agreement.
- 7:06Speaker 1: It allows users to create and share videos using more
- 7:09Speaker 1: than two hundred animated characters from Disney, Marvel, Pixar, and
- 7:13Speaker 1: Star Wars.
- 7:14Speaker 3: It weird that they would do that.
- 7:16Speaker 1: The same day they did this deal, they sued Google
- 7:20Speaker 1: for using their characters. Yeah, but it's funny because Bob
- 7:24Speaker 1: Iger says, you know what's great about this is that
- 7:26Speaker 1: you know, people will be able to make videos of
- 7:29Speaker 1: their favorite Disney characters saying like happy birthday to their kids.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Yeah, but they'll use it for other things too. Yeah,
- 7:35Speaker 2: that's exactly.
- 7:37Speaker 3: And I don't know why they would do that, and so.
- 7:40Speaker 1: I file this under the category of what could go wrong?
- 7:46Speaker 1: Is Bob Eiger that naive?
- 7:49Speaker 2: I mean, come on, he's been on the internet.
