- 0:00The human instrument is essentially a receiver.
- 0:04Through the various energy centers, vibrational patterns
- 0:08are picked up. Most of what is received is not
- 0:11consciously attended to, but it has its subtle impact.
- 0:16The human being is able to respond to a limited range of
- 0:19vibrations on the electromagnetic spectrum.
- 0:22Vibrations above and vibrations below our normal range of
- 0:27response are active, but we do not consciously attend to them
- 0:31and their impact is relatively minor if they cannot set up a
- 0:36corresponding vibratory pattern through any of our energy
- 0:40centers. The small percentage of impulses
- 0:44that are attended to are then reviewed by the conscious
- 0:47awareness, analyzed, classified, stored and responded to.
- 0:53If we shift our attention from one of the subtle energy
- 0:56centers, chakras or another, we respond actively to whatever
- 1:01forces or energetic influences are active there at the moment.
- 1:07For the practitioner of the Integral Yoga, this background
- 1:11helps to Orient the secret to the general idea and method for
- 1:14opening to the greater knowledge, power and bliss that
- 1:19can come with the shift of attention and the corresponding
- 1:23reception of the forces active there.
- 1:26Traditionally, seekers are advised to concentrate behind
- 1:29the heart for access to the psychic center and the
- 1:33aspirational and devotional energies that are received
- 1:37there, or else between the eyebrows at the traditional
- 1:42locus of the Ajnet chakra, the Chakra of Knowledge Will in the
- 1:47Integral Yoga 1/3 focus area is actually above the crown of the
- 1:52head, which opens the seeker to the wider universal
- 1:56consciousness and insight. Each seeker finds that one or
- 2:01another focus is more natural for him, and thus he may use
- 2:06that shift of attention as his predominant mode of sadhna.
- 2:11There are times, however, when a seeker may actually find that
- 2:14one of the other areas of concentration comes to the
- 2:17forefront. Most people find the heart
- 2:21center to be the easiest to relate to, and it is through
- 2:25that, therefore, that they most frequently come to understand
- 2:30the reality of aspiration, consecration, receptivity, and
- 2:36surrender to the higher force. For those who take that path,
- 2:42they find that opening to the spiritual and psychic power of
- 2:45the Mother can bring enormous aid.
- 2:49The Mother is both the divine force of creation and, as
- 2:54embodied in the Mother of the Srioro Bindo Ashram, a dynamic
- 2:58and powerful spiritual force in her own being able to
- 3:02communicate that force to those who are able to experience and
- 3:06be receptive to its action and influence.
- 3:11Srioro Bindo notes quote In this Yoga all depends on whether one
- 3:16can open to the influence or not.
- 3:19If there is a sincerity in the aspiration and a patient will to
- 3:23arrive at the higher consciousness in spite of all
- 3:26obstacles, then the opening in one form or another is sure to
- 3:31come. But it may take a long or short
- 3:34time according to the prepared or unprepared condition of the
- 3:37mind, heart and body. So if one has not the necessary
- 3:43patience, the effort may be abandoned owing to the
- 3:46difficulty of the beginning. There is no method in this Yoga
- 3:51except to concentrate, preferably in the heart, and
- 3:55call the presence and power of the mother to take up the being
- 3:59and by the workings of her force transform the consciousness.
- 4:04One can concentrate also in the head or between the eyebrows,
- 4:09but for many this is a too difficult opening.
- 4:12When the mind falls quiet and the concentration becomes strong
- 4:17and the aspiration intense, then there is a beginning of
- 4:21experience. The more the faith, the more
- 4:25rapid the result is likely to be.
- 4:29For the rest, one must not depend on one's own efforts
- 4:33only, but succeed in establishing a contact with the
- 4:36Divine and a receptivity to the Mother's power and presence.
