- 0:00Speaker 1: Here we are, guys, our last break of the day,
- 0:03Speaker 1: and it's been a good day. It's been a good day.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Hey, you know what I had to come to the realization.
- 0:09Speaker 3: Kind of want to share this with people, but you know,
- 0:15Speaker 3: I want to talk about there's a cost.
- 0:19Speaker 2: There is a cost.
- 0:22Speaker 3: You know, when you make the decision to be successful
- 0:28Speaker 3: comes with a cost. And as much as I've tried
- 0:33Speaker 3: to negate the cost, as much as I've tried to
- 0:37Speaker 3: alleviate the cost, as much as I've oftentimes just tried
- 0:41Speaker 3: to not.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Talk up the cost, the cost is real. You know.
- 0:47Speaker 3: I got in trouble, not really trouble, but I got
- 0:50Speaker 3: a bunch of haters that came online one time when
- 0:53Speaker 3: they saw me give a speech about if you want
- 0:56Speaker 3: to be successful, really really successful at something, you can't
- 0:59Speaker 3: sleep eight hours. And I believe that, you know, somebody
- 1:05Speaker 3: counted it with Oprah says she gets eight hours sleep.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Well.
- 1:09Speaker 3: Oprah's wealthy, though, but if you go back on her
- 1:13Speaker 3: journey and asked her when she was hustling trying to
- 1:17Speaker 3: make it what she getting ate, I don't think the
- 1:20Speaker 3: answer would be yes. Everybody, I know that's grinding, that's
- 1:28Speaker 3: in the hustle trying to really really have more than normal.
- 1:35Speaker 3: If you want above average, it comes at a cost.
- 1:41Speaker 3: And I've tried not to talk about it because I
- 1:44Speaker 3: don't want to, you know, knock anybody down about it.
- 1:48Speaker 2: But man, it's there's a cost for everything.
- 1:53Speaker 3: And you know, I know a lot of successful people
- 1:56Speaker 3: who have health issues. I've had my share of myself.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Tommy can tell you about his, Junior can tell you
- 2:01Speaker 3: about his. All of us can tell you about health issues.
- 2:07Speaker 3: It's sometimes, you know, it just it's a part of it.
- 2:11Speaker 3: I don't know how to explain it now. You don't
- 2:13Speaker 3: want to sacrifice one for the other, but sometimes it's
- 2:18Speaker 3: unavoidable because there is a cost, and a lot of
- 2:22Speaker 3: times you end up sometimes you have health issues because
- 2:25Speaker 3: you just don't know any better, you know, And that's
- 2:28Speaker 3: why knowledge is so important, because when you know better,
- 2:31Speaker 3: you can do better.
- 2:32Speaker 2: You know.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Had I known a long long time ago that everything
- 2:37Speaker 3: I put into my body was gonna have an effect
- 2:39Speaker 3: on me, I would have made some changes a long
- 2:41Speaker 3: long time ago. I just really started understanding this in
- 2:45Speaker 3: the last fifteen to twenty years of my life. You know,
- 2:48Speaker 3: the how important eating the right thing is, how important
- 2:52Speaker 3: it is to take supplements, how important it is to
- 2:55Speaker 3: take regular visits to your doctor. And as black men,
- 2:59Speaker 3: I'm talking especially the black men, we find it so
- 3:02Speaker 3: hard to go to these doctors. I got a partner
- 3:05Speaker 3: right now, man that's trying to get out the hospital
- 3:08Speaker 3: right now because he ain't been to the doctor in
- 3:12Speaker 3: eight years. But he's seventy and he ain't been to
- 3:17Speaker 3: the doctor in eight years. We can't do that because
- 3:20Speaker 3: we've been grinding. And I understood something about grinding recently.
- 3:24Speaker 3: When you're grinding, grinding means actually to wear down. But
- 3:28Speaker 3: in order to have something, you got to get in
- 3:31Speaker 3: the wear down process, and the thing you end up
- 3:33Speaker 3: wearing down is your body.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Now, I'm not saying you should exchange your health for wealth.
- 3:38Speaker 3: I wish that wasn't the cost, but oftentimes that's the
- 3:41Speaker 3: cost factor, and people who don't want it, you don't
- 3:44Speaker 3: have to do it. But then there's a cost with
- 3:47Speaker 3: being poor. To see, there's a cost factor when you
- 3:50Speaker 3: decide not to be anything. It's a cost factor when
- 3:53Speaker 3: you decide I'm just gonna ride it out, I'm just
- 3:57Speaker 3: gonna mail it in. There's a cost factor for that.
- 4:01Speaker 3: I notice when old people who've been working their whole
- 4:05Speaker 3: life finally retire and they don't and they able to
- 4:07Speaker 3: stop being active. I watch them wear down, dissipate, just
- 4:14Speaker 3: wither away because that work, that thing called the grind
- 4:18Speaker 3: of getting up going to work every day. It gave
- 4:21Speaker 3: them something to live for. It gave them something to
- 4:23Speaker 3: do and made them active. It's just a cost, man,
- 4:27Speaker 3: But you have to decide which one of the costs
- 4:29Speaker 3: you want to pay.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Do you want to pay the.
- 4:31Speaker 3: Cost of being successful, or do you want to be
- 4:34Speaker 3: the cost you want to pay the cost of being poor. Now,
- 4:37Speaker 3: when I say poor, I mean really poor. I don't
- 4:40Speaker 3: mean like if you make one hundred thousand dollars. Ain't
- 4:42Speaker 3: talking about like that. You're doing great, man, your life
- 4:44Speaker 3: is good. I think people that make one hundred thousand
- 4:47Speaker 3: dollars doing fine with your life. That's not what I'm saying,
- 4:49Speaker 3: So please don't misunderstand me. I'm talking about when you
- 4:53Speaker 3: don't have enough to eat, you can't put a roof
- 4:57Speaker 3: over your family's head, you can't get it to the store,
- 5:02Speaker 3: and then you got to do more. Man, you gotta
- 5:05Speaker 3: do more. But it's a cost for it, one way
- 5:07Speaker 3: or the other. I suggest though, if I look back
- 5:13Speaker 3: on it all, you have to find a way to
- 5:16Speaker 3: create a balance.
- 5:18Speaker 2: But the balance ain't gonna be even even. It's just
- 5:22Speaker 2: gotta be.
- 5:23Speaker 3: You got to grind, you got to rest, You got
- 5:26Speaker 3: to grind, you got to rest, You got to grind,
- 5:29Speaker 3: you got to rest.
- 5:30Speaker 2: If you just.
- 5:31Speaker 3: Grind, grind, grind, grind, grind, grind, grind, grind, grind, then
- 5:36Speaker 3: try to rest, the cost factor's gonna be greater. So
- 5:39Speaker 3: find the balance for yourself. I can't tell anybody what
- 5:43Speaker 3: that is, but there is a cost to being successful,
- 5:47Speaker 3: but there is a cost to not being successful, and
- 5:51Speaker 3: you have to decide which one of the costs you
- 5:53Speaker 3: have to pay. Now that's just real talk. You can
- 5:56Speaker 3: say it ain't so, but yes, it is. Ben't able
- 6:00Speaker 3: to provide for your family. That's a cost being able
- 6:04Speaker 3: to provide for your family. There is a cost. You
- 6:07Speaker 3: have to decide which cost you're willing to pay and
- 6:11Speaker 3: then find a balance in there. That's what I had
- 6:14Speaker 3: to discover. So those are my clothes remarks. That's it
- 6:16Speaker 3: for today. Hey listen, y'all, have a great day. Talk
- 6:19Speaker 3: to God today. He loved to hear from you. This
