  [SPEAKER_00]: Ooh, that.
• 0:13
[SPEAKER_01]: Sitting down with Seth Olivia.
• 0:14
[SPEAKER_01]: I would say two, two, three.
• 0:16
  [SPEAKER_01]: Ooh, eh.
• 0:17
[SPEAKER_01]: This is strictly for them two big offense.
• 0:20
  [SPEAKER_01]: Number one.
• 0:20
  [SPEAKER_01]: Of course, y'all.
• 0:21
  [SPEAKER_01]: This ain't all.
• 0:22
[SPEAKER_01]: And there is one star.
• 0:23
[SPEAKER_01]: I might be that fish tank.
• 0:26
[SPEAKER_02]: The regular season is here.
• 0:28
[SPEAKER_02]: Which means the fish tank dolphins talk crossovers and full effect no more practice guys Everyone of these reps counts.
• 0:37
  [SPEAKER_02]: Right.
• 0:37
[SPEAKER_02]: That's levity or represent in the fish tank and dolphins talk I guess always joined by the man with the best hands in the podcast business.
• 0:44
[SPEAKER_02]: O. J. McDuffy and the guy who let's us in the front door Jews He has Michael leave of dolphins talk
• 0:51
[SPEAKER_02]: Gentlemen, because it's smell like football fine.
• 0:54
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no, he's lettuce in the front door.
• 0:56
  [SPEAKER_00]: We got the code.
• 0:57
  [SPEAKER_00]: We got it right.
• 0:58
[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
• 0:59
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, we got to do three sets of hands.
• 1:01
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, he's always walking me, man.
• 1:04
[SPEAKER_02]: He even got the mountain dude for me.
• 1:05
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going right this way.
• 1:08
  [SPEAKER_02]: Right.
• 1:08
  [SPEAKER_00]: Go ahead.
• 1:08
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, he's got the mini fridge mountain.
• 1:10
[SPEAKER_02]: Do I love that one?
• 1:10
  [SPEAKER_02]: That's it.
• 1:11
  [SPEAKER_02]: Go.
• 1:12
  [SPEAKER_02]: I'll open.
• 1:13
  [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
• 1:13
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, look, about 10 days ago, everyone had access to a door for a little bit to be at a
• 1:20
  [SPEAKER_03]: It's a good point.
• 1:21
  [SPEAKER_03]: It's a good point.
• 1:23
  [SPEAKER_03]: It's a good point.
• 1:23
  [SPEAKER_03]: It's a good point.
• 1:25
[SPEAKER_02]: We don't need to get too in depth there though, Mike, after you did your, I tried to tell you that.
• 1:29
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going to mention that.
• 1:30
[SPEAKER_02]: It's sad and formed us of how we better, you know, want to stay in the country again.
• 1:35
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not performing the Olympics.
• 1:36
  [SPEAKER_03]: I'll tell you that.
• 1:38
  [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, because you're a proud American, and that's right, a proud American.
• 1:41
[SPEAKER_02]: We won't get into our pre-show talk here, either for that.
• 1:46
[SPEAKER_02]: But, well, guys, I just don't know if you guys got a chance to watch Jeff Haffley.
• 1:52
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Dolphinsick coach Jeff Haffley speaking his presser.
• 1:55
[SPEAKER_02]: He definitely had his regular season game face on, which I was excited to see.
• 1:59
[SPEAKER_02]: Loved seeing John Eric Sullivan's presser the previous day.
• 2:03
[SPEAKER_02]: So I think some of that will bleed into this show as well.
• 2:07
[SPEAKER_02]: The team that we watched talked about, cheered for throughout the offseason and preseason, looked a lot different than the team we watched, cheered for, talked about last year.
• 2:17
[SPEAKER_02]: And I think the team we're going to see against the Raiders, is a lot different than the team we just saw the preseason so much.
• 2:25
[SPEAKER_02]: turn over that that happened here to this roster.
• 2:28
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, such, you know, that's something that typically is going to happen.
• 2:31
[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, you see, you have to cut a certain amount of players, but claiming seven guys off of waivers and, and, and I think that it's going to continue to turn a lot to cover.
• 2:41
[SPEAKER_02]: I think on our crossover, we'll, we'll save some of that for tomorrow night for, for Fish Tank Live.
• 2:46
[SPEAKER_02]: But I want to ask you guys, if there is one roster move that jumped out to you,
• 2:53
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, and whatever you can define what a roster move is based on your own lens there.
• 2:58
[SPEAKER_02]: But if there's one roster move, everything that we just saw in the last three, four, five days, but I'd love to discuss that in today's crossover.
• 3:08
[SPEAKER_02]: So, Mike, since we are in your house, why don't we start with you?
• 3:12
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'm going to start with Tyrell dots and being released and is it in some ways it's not a shock in some ways it is I think some of the handwriting was on the wall Back in April one of my army drafted three linebackers in the draft even with Kyle Lewis now playing some safety and train more hurt I think at the end of the day big picture there really wasn't a need for Tyrell dots in and then you factor in
• 3:35
[SPEAKER_03]: Jacob Rodriguez having a strong camp and he seems to be every one he seems to be the guy everyone thought he would be and we just heard Jeff Hathley speak in the last half hour so he was gushing over Jacob Rodriguez gushing over the rookie so when you factor that in and Tyrell's making $3 million final year of his deal they probably weren't going to resign him after this year every snap he's on the field he's blocking the progress of a
• 4:04
[SPEAKER_03]: But I'm still a little surprised because, again, Traymore's hurt, Kylo's is playing some safety.
• 4:09
[SPEAKER_03]: They probably could have used them for this year.
• 4:11
[SPEAKER_03]: He's got experiences of quality player.
• 4:13
[SPEAKER_03]: But that one's kind of surprised me a little.
• 4:15
[SPEAKER_03]: Here's the everything real quick.
• 4:17
[SPEAKER_03]: He was last year, the guy who are the green dot.
• 4:21
[SPEAKER_03]: And the fact that they were comfortable enough to let him go, because that dot's probably going on the helmet.
• 4:26
  [SPEAKER_03]: I'm 99% sure of Jacob Rodriguez.
• 4:29
[SPEAKER_03]: It really lets you know how much they like.
• 4:31
[SPEAKER_03]: Jacob Rodriguez and trust him is the rookie.
• 4:33
[SPEAKER_03]: So to let him go, little surprising, perfect world.
• 4:37
[SPEAKER_03]: They could have possibly traded them, but this past week and like 200 linebackers were cut, no one's gonna trade for $3 million contract.
• 4:43
[SPEAKER_03]: It is what it is.
• 4:44
[SPEAKER_03]: So they had a lot of them go.
• 4:46
[SPEAKER_03]: But that one would probably be my pick for like the most surprising.
• 4:49
[SPEAKER_02]: And look, he signed to the practice squad of Carolina.
• 4:53
[SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't like he got scooped up.
• 4:55
[SPEAKER_02]: I saw there were certain people on Twitter, even a man Lloyd, we had a nice debate about it that were like, oh, this is, you know, tell me you're tanking without telling me you're tanking or what have any like why would you get rid of this guy?
• 5:07
  [SPEAKER_02]: Like, go hold on.
• 5:08
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not like they just got rid of, you know,
• 5:11
[SPEAKER_02]: He was a nice player, I think there was some things he did well, some things maybe he didn't do as well.
• 5:18
[SPEAKER_02]: If this had been a Jordan Brooks cut, then like let's be up at arms about this, but when you draft three linebackers, and then you sign more in the off season, you see guys making plays and you got a guy who doesn't play special teams,
• 5:33
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's been fun to make the Jack Dale Rio.
• 5:36
  [SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry.
• 5:36
[SPEAKER_02]: Zach Thomas and and Jacob Rodriguez parallels even though I think, you know, once they get on the field, I think we need to stop making those parallels, not the Jacob won't be a great player, but let's let's pause before we get to time and give them to Hall of Famer or even rookie the year, right?
• 5:52
[SPEAKER_02]: But one more parallel is that idea of a veteran player who was now Tyrell Dawson was already here, but who was respected by the head coach.
• 6:01
[SPEAKER_02]: But ultimately, there was just no reason for him to take snaps away from a talented young player.
• 6:07
[SPEAKER_02]: And I think Mike, you just laid that out there, and I think that's exactly what we saw here.
• 6:10
  [SPEAKER_02]: So
• 6:11
  [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you're right, Seth.
• 6:13
  [SPEAKER_00]: He didn't separate himself.
• 6:14
  [SPEAKER_00]: Right.
• 6:15
[SPEAKER_00]: Separate yourself in a young guy.
• 6:17
[SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, you're a much better player than pick a Rodriguez.
• 6:20
[SPEAKER_00]: And in order for us to justify keeping you and paying you this salary instead of having this dude that we might just said, Coach Halfley's gushing over.
• 6:29
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know, that's out there already a pro.
• 6:33
[SPEAKER_00]: He's already saying these disguise already like a professor know out there.
• 6:36
[SPEAKER_00]: So on a rookie contract, too,
• 6:41
[SPEAKER_00]: smart business moves or what we've seen a lot with this football team, but also smart football moves is what we're seeing a lot with this football team.
• 6:48
[SPEAKER_00]: So that T die, I'm with you Mike.
• 6:50
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's kind of shocking, but you know, when you've got a young guy that you said is probably going to wear the green dot, that mean, what do we need of the dot for?
• 7:00
  [SPEAKER_00]: We won't do it.
• 7:02
  [SPEAKER_02]: We don't need to.
• 7:03
[SPEAKER_02]: If we got the green dot on the one that on per side, you know what I mean, so although didn't have to say everybody should be able to wear the green dot like that was one of the other expectations too So We need the other dot for Hey, come on big set.
• 7:19
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, we're gonna look at that.
• 7:20
[SPEAKER_02]: We're gonna go with this and get this is just been that yeah He's been on his poetry game for sure.
• 7:26
  [SPEAKER_02]: So
• 7:28
[SPEAKER_02]: It's funny, I just said poetry and the text that I just got.
• 7:31
[SPEAKER_02]: So, so, let's, yeah, what about you, what are there any particular move or set of moves that stood out to you?
• 7:39
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you know what, my guy, I'm thinking about, like, I've been wondering when this move is going to happen for a long time.
• 7:45
  [SPEAKER_00]: And,
• 7:46
[SPEAKER_00]: you know, my guy's Ethan Bonner, you know, Ethan Bonner at corner, you know, he was surprised to me from the beginning because, you know, when you look at a guy at a staff or an undrafted, you know, but his vegetables were incredible.
• 8:03
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, running 44, 61, probably two, you know, little over two hundred, you know, 190, 190, two pounds, vertical was crazy.
• 8:13
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, he ran on the four by two, you know, and broke some records there.
• 8:17
[SPEAKER_00]: So, it's Steve was in trouble.
• 8:19
[SPEAKER_00]: Matter of fact, I really killed him and said he was the second fast dude on the team.
• 8:22
[SPEAKER_00]: He did, you know, and that right there was already, like, all right, we got it.
• 8:26
[SPEAKER_00]: We got a Jason Seedhorn here.
• 8:28
[SPEAKER_00]: He's there, we got there and he could probably play.
• 8:30
[SPEAKER_00]: But then we kept seeing him not playing.
• 8:32
  [SPEAKER_00]: We saw hamstring injuries.
• 8:33
[SPEAKER_00]: We saw all kinds of things like that.
• 8:35
[SPEAKER_00]: But then we saw him do, he didn't make the 53 initially.
• 8:38
  [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
• 8:39
  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, okay.
• 8:40
[SPEAKER_00]: But then when he was off the 53 after that, that's when I was like, damn.
• 8:44
[SPEAKER_00]: Because we heard him can't be accepted.
• 8:46
[SPEAKER_00]: He might be the fourth best corner on the team.
• 8:49
  [SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
• 8:49
[SPEAKER_00]: How do you get rid of the fourth best corner on the team?
• 8:52
[SPEAKER_00]: If that's the case, that's a lot of been the case in my opinion.
• 8:55
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, because they went out and got other guys to take over that position, man.
• 8:58
[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, Ethan, who obviously is a great guy, you know, great athlete.
• 9:05
  [SPEAKER_00]: hamstrings.
• 9:06
  [SPEAKER_00]: They don't go away.
• 9:07
[SPEAKER_00]: I play with a guy named Gary Clark who had hamstring problems and they used to shoot them up and wrap them up and they never went away.
• 9:14
[SPEAKER_00]: So once you start having some tough, tough tissue issues, tough tissue issues, how about that?
• 9:19
  [SPEAKER_00]: That was pretty good.
• 9:21
[SPEAKER_00]: Um, it could become a problem, you know, but uh, you know, I got even had a solid camp, but I watched that last game and his reaction time was was off.
• 9:30
[SPEAKER_00]: his, you know, he never really, we never really saw how fast he was on the football field.
• 9:37
[SPEAKER_00]: And that, you know, I don't care how fast you are.
• 9:40
[SPEAKER_00]: If it doesn't translate in the game, then who gives it down?
• 9:44
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, so yeah, see, and he can go with kind of a, you know, a tough global, so I thought he was having a solid camp, but at the same time, no, watching that last game,
• 9:53
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he, the ball was out.
• 9:55
[SPEAKER_00]: He was still on his back pedal sometimes, you know.
• 9:57
[SPEAKER_00]: And that happens a lot of times with some of these DBs, but damn, you got to anticipate.
• 10:02
[SPEAKER_00]: You see a guy running an outrow, jump that thing, man.
• 10:04
[SPEAKER_00]: You got to make a play in order to survive in this game.
• 10:07
[SPEAKER_00]: And I didn't see him in any play.
• 10:09
[SPEAKER_00]: One interception, I think, and maybe a force fumble throughout, you know, his whole career here in the last three years.
• 10:14
[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, but I was, I was hopeful for Ethan, you know, Barnard, and obviously that didn't work out for it.
• 10:21
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so two things one I guess is a question for you when you've got a guy with with those types of measurements, who's that athletic, but he seems to be a step late every time is that is that the mental part of the game is that I mean anticipation or just reading what's happening out there, what do you think that is well you know the best corners man instincts
• 10:43
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, a part of it, he was just, I think he was just too conservative with it.
• 10:47
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you got to be, you got to be T-book out there sometime.
• 10:51
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, you got to be opposite of conservative.
• 10:53
[SPEAKER_00]: You got to, you got to just say, you know what?
• 10:56
[SPEAKER_00]: I got help over the top.
• 10:58
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm jumping this thing, you know?
• 11:00
[SPEAKER_00]: It most of the time they've got help, he went on the island.
• 11:02
[SPEAKER_00]: They're not, they weren't in coverage zero.
• 11:04
[SPEAKER_00]: We're just no help, and you got to keep everything in front of you.
• 11:07
[SPEAKER_00]: You got to, you got to be instinctive.
• 11:09
[SPEAKER_00]: And somebody breaks on an out, you got to dig on that thing, man.
• 11:12
[SPEAKER_00]: You seem like more, he was just playing catch, you know?
• 11:15
[SPEAKER_00]: Once they catch it, I'm just gonna, I'm just gonna tackle it instead of breaking on that thing and taking it 84 touchdown.
• 11:21
[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I'm gonna catch even at that point?
• 11:23
  [SPEAKER_00]: Right, you know?
• 11:24
[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that, I think that was the thing, man.
• 11:26
[SPEAKER_00]: He was very, very relaxed and conservative in this approach at corner and corner, honestly, like Sam and all those, you got to be aggressive out there.
• 11:35
[SPEAKER_00]: You gotta go get it, gotta go get it, gotta go get it.
• 11:37
[SPEAKER_00]: You gotta go at least, get a PBU, if not a pick.
• 11:41
[SPEAKER_00]: You can't just sit there and just tackle do four or five, six, seven, 10-yard game.
• 11:45
[SPEAKER_00]: That's not how it works on the edge.
• 11:47
[SPEAKER_02]: And I, you know, he clearly was very well-liked and respected by his teammates.
• 11:51
[SPEAKER_02]: I think we heard that over the years the way they would talk about him.
• 11:54
[SPEAKER_02]: And, and, and, you know, previous coaching staffs and so on, but he, I kind of got a Tanner Conner vibe out, you know, a guy who's here never really got on the field during the regular season.
• 12:07
[SPEAKER_02]: You heard all these things about how athletic he was and how productive he was in camp and, and everything else.
• 12:13
[SPEAKER_02]: But then ultimately, we never got to cheer for the guy as a Miami Dolphin player during the season or very rarely did, you know, and fairness to him, he lasted long in the Tanner Conner did, but it was like, how long can you hang on and never really produce, you know, so that's a potential word, right, Big Seth, Big O, Big O, P word.
• 12:33
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, it lasts a long, it only lasts so long, especially when there's a change in regimes, right?
• 12:38
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, so, so for me, what stood out is, is a carousel of moves, and that's the dolphins back up quarterback position.
• 12:47
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, and it has been,
• 12:50
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you know, go on Twitter, they'll tell you not since Matt Moore has there been a dolphin's back up quarterback that people have felt good about.
• 12:58
[SPEAKER_02]: But interestingly enough, we entered this season with a guy who unseated to a tongue of Iloa and can you imagine a world that there was a chance gentlemen that we would have started this season.
• 13:09
[SPEAKER_02]: There was a chance in a, and I don't like multiverse movies, by the way.
• 13:14
[SPEAKER_02]: So I apologize to all the Marvel multiverse fans, like there's one dance Spider-Man.
• 13:19
[SPEAKER_02]: But can you imagine a world where we could have been talking today on this Tuesday leading in to get me excited about the regular season where Mike McDonald is still your head coach and Quinn yours is your starting quarterback because that was the plan that was the plan until it wasn't the plan.
• 13:38
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it's not the plan any longer.
• 13:40
[SPEAKER_02]: We know Malik Willis is here and he's not going anywhere, knock on wood and everything else, cause it, you know, we're excited about Malik Willis.
• 13:48
[SPEAKER_02]: Clearly, John Erick Sullivan and Jeff Haffley are excited about Malik Willis, but they didn't feel the same way about their backup quarterbacks.
• 13:57
  [SPEAKER_02]: So on the outs,
• 13:59
[SPEAKER_02]: When you were traded to Jacksonville, Cam Miller, who was signed back in January off the Raiders practice squad, gone.
• 14:07
[SPEAKER_02]: Out in, I guess you would call it, right?
• 14:09
[SPEAKER_02]: Mark Bernowski brought him in as an undrafted rookie free agent.
• 14:15
[SPEAKER_02]: gone, but now he's on the practice squad, but don't worry.
• 14:18
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how many I don't know if he wraps you going to get on that practice squad mark because they trade for Kyle McCord, which I know Mike's going to be able to talk to us a lot about Kyle McCord having watched him at Syracuse and then they also claim off of waivers Brady Cook from the Jets.
• 14:32
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to start in reverse here and this is I probably the New York Jets last year.
• 14:39
[SPEAKER_02]: If Brady Cook couldn't make the New York Jets roster as a quarterback
• 14:45
  [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
• 14:46
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't have high hopes there and might be a great guy.
• 14:49
  [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know Brady Cook.
• 14:50
  [SPEAKER_02]: I haven't really followed his career.
• 14:52
[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm not trying to be a disrespectful jerk.
• 14:54
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just saying that Jets quarterback situation was rough.
• 14:59
[SPEAKER_02]: And so the fact that the Jets felt that they had three quarterbacks or however many better than Brady Cook should be interesting to see what happens there.
• 15:07
[SPEAKER_02]: But the most interesting piece out of all of this is Kyle McCord, right?
• 15:10
  [SPEAKER_02]: Kyle McCord.
• 15:13
[SPEAKER_02]: was the guy who was with the Eagles, then he was on their practice squad, we know there's some familiarity with the dolphins coaching staff now.
• 15:19
  [SPEAKER_02]: And
• 15:21
[SPEAKER_02]: Shocker gentlemen, he was with the Packers, and that's where the trade comes.
• 15:25
[SPEAKER_02]: Now, John Air Sullivan was gone by the time that Kyle court ends up in Green Bay, but that was like two weeks.
• 15:31
[SPEAKER_02]: There's like, what two or three weeks difference, you can't tell me that that solely didn't spend some time watching some Kyle McCord tape and wasn't part of that process when Green Bay decided this is guy who could be here.
• 15:44
[SPEAKER_02]: So they obviously feel good about him to the point where
• 15:48
[SPEAKER_02]: We just heard Hathley say he's going into the season as the number two quarterback, you know, if, if, if, if for whatever reason, melequils has to come out, they're expecting comical to jump in there.
• 15:57
[SPEAKER_02]: I think all of this is is what stood out to me the most and wouldn't you know it.
• 16:04
  [SPEAKER_02]: Joe Milton gets casualties.
• 16:06
[SPEAKER_02]: And so now the entire of his nation is one Joe Milton watch as well.
• 16:11
[SPEAKER_02]: The back of quarterback situation for the Miami dolphins is maybe as interesting and exciting and tenuous as it's been in a long time.
• 16:20
  [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
• 16:21
  [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
• 16:21
[SPEAKER_02]: Always the most popular guy in the team.
• 16:24
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, and McCord had what what a preseason, right?
• 16:26
[SPEAKER_02]: I think he had the most productive policies in the many quarterback in the league.
• 16:30
  [SPEAKER_03]: It was sensational.
• 16:31
[SPEAKER_02]: Look, I saw him for what it's worth.
• 16:33
[SPEAKER_03]: For one year appeared Syracuse, but it was a hell of a year yet at Syracuse.
• 16:36
[SPEAKER_03]: And here's the thing I always say, you know, he got a raw deal at Ohio State.
• 16:40
[SPEAKER_03]: In his last year there, he was 11 and one is a starter.
• 16:43
[SPEAKER_03]: He threw 24 touchdowns six interceptions wasn't good enough.
• 16:47
[SPEAKER_03]: Now the problem is Ohio state like a lot of the schools in the SEC and a couple schools in a big time have these unrealistic expectations where if you don't win the national championship every year, you stink you got to go.
• 17:00
[SPEAKER_03]: and the kid was 11 and one and they pinned everything on him.
• 17:03
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know, okay, they lost a Michigan one to get him a break.
• 17:07
[SPEAKER_03]: It's like it's not his fault, you know, but he came here to Syracuse, which again, not a football powerhouse these days, had less weapons around him to throw too, lesser offensive linemen in front of him, went 10 and 3, led the nation in passing,
• 17:23
[SPEAKER_03]: And that dude, what I saw, and I haven't watched in a while, he plays with a chip on a shoulder because of everything that happened in Ohio State.
• 17:30
[SPEAKER_03]: So he's coming here with a chip on a shoulder again, is he going to be a starting quarterback something?
• 17:35
  [SPEAKER_03]: No.
• 17:36
[SPEAKER_03]: But I think he can be a solid QB2.
• 17:38
[SPEAKER_03]: I like him a little more than 20 years.
• 17:40
[SPEAKER_03]: I like the trade is all I'm saying because there's I think there's more there to work with with with him.
• 17:45
  [SPEAKER_03]: than Quinn.
• 17:46
  [SPEAKER_03]: He hasn't had Quinn's hit a lot.
• 17:48
[SPEAKER_03]: He's been hurt a lot from his time and when he was at Ohio State and when he was at Texas.
• 17:56
[SPEAKER_03]: So if I'm a court's like never been hurt either.
• 17:58
[SPEAKER_03]: So I just think there's more upside there so I like to trade in that regard.
• 18:02
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not saying he's going to be an oral quarterback or anything.
• 18:04
[SPEAKER_03]: So I like to move it.
• 18:05
[SPEAKER_03]: I think that kids got he's got some moxie to him, which is we like moxie to the quarterback.
• 18:10
  [SPEAKER_02]: That's right.
• 18:11
[SPEAKER_03]: You need it as a
• 18:13
[SPEAKER_02]: So, when I was in, I was in, I was just, right there, right there.
• 18:16
[SPEAKER_02]: Why was this a stupid little story?
• 18:17
[SPEAKER_02]: But when I interned for the Cleveland Cavaliers shout out to Cleveland Green Road, baby, my guy Bob Zanko was my mentor.
• 18:25
[SPEAKER_02]: His son Lance was, you know, he ultimately went to high school and played quarterback and they named their dog Moxie because they felt like quarterback needs to have Moxie, right?
• 18:34
[SPEAKER_02]: So they named their dog.
• 18:35
[SPEAKER_02]: So shout out to Lambsink and Moxie.
• 18:38
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know, and I just wonder if McCord seemed like he has that mighty, what's kind of what our current quarterback has.
• 18:45
[SPEAKER_00]: Don't think that they don't look at what, you know, what they get out of Malik Willis and what that same guy, you know, you see so many times.
• 18:52
[SPEAKER_00]: How many times you've seen where you've got a quarterback that's your starter, your QB1, and their QB2 is a different style quarterback.
• 19:01
  [SPEAKER_02]: Right.
• 19:01
[SPEAKER_00]: How do you go in there and try to run the same offense and the whole thing if you don't have that same moxy in your backup that you and and skill set that you have in your starter now it's not as good as Malik will us obviously, but if he's got the ability to run the rock he's got that dog in him, you know, he's got an arm I mean, that's you want to try to pair it your your starter as much as you can.
• 19:24
[SPEAKER_00]: So you don't fall off too much when it comes to.
• 19:27
[SPEAKER_00]: If you have to enforce it, they have to take you out of game or two.
• 19:30
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, we've seen that so many times where you got, we had hunkly come in and he started like almost right away and it completely different skillsets, learn new playbook, all different things.
• 19:41
[SPEAKER_00]: You really need to have your quarterback, you could be two being similar.
• 19:47
[SPEAKER_00]: Hmm, not as good obviously, similar to your QB1, so that you don't have to change everything completely when you have to go to them, you know, in an emergency situation.
• 19:58
[SPEAKER_02]: And I mean, how can we not we can joke about the reading bay I just heard Dave Hyde on his new podcast nothing to hide said he referred to the Dolphins of the Biscayn Bay Packers now is that is what that was for the least yeah I thought that was pretty funny to this game Bay Packers, but how can you not respect the quarterback evaluations over the last you know however many decades I mean they've just
• 20:22
[SPEAKER_02]: at some point it's beyond being just lucky and they've not only found players that can play the position, but they've they've figured out the right times to get guys in here.
• 20:32
[SPEAKER_02]: And so if they see this and we heard John Erick Sullivan, he talked about it, but you know, bring a guy in, let him watch the guy in front of him, let him learn, let him process, well, that elevate his game, and it seems like that's their vision with McCord.
• 20:44
[SPEAKER_02]: But what I really love is, man, you talk about straight talk.
• 20:48
[SPEAKER_02]: I know you had to love this juice.
• 20:50
[SPEAKER_02]: They asked him about the quarterback play, and he basically said it wasn't good enough.
• 20:53
  [SPEAKER_02]: Right.
• 20:54
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I like all those guys.
• 20:55
[SPEAKER_02]: This is not taking away from how hard they were.
• 20:58
  [SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't good enough.
• 20:59
  [SPEAKER_02]: Quinn viewers.
• 20:59
[SPEAKER_02]: We had high expectations for him.
• 21:01
[SPEAKER_02]: If Quinn was here, he would tell you the right thing.
• 21:03
  [SPEAKER_02]: Same thing.
• 21:04
[SPEAKER_02]: It didn't meet the standard that he had set for himself.
• 21:06
[SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't good enough when things aren't good enough.
• 21:09
[SPEAKER_02]: It's his job to turn the roster and try to improve it.
• 21:13
[SPEAKER_02]: And we've kind of like,
• 21:16
[SPEAKER_02]: Walked on eggshells and tapped around people's feelings and all, you know, the last four or five years away, and I wasn't disrespectful.
• 21:23
[SPEAKER_02]: It was just like, look, this wasn't good.
• 21:25
  [SPEAKER_02]: Nobody would argue that.
• 21:26
[SPEAKER_02]: All we did is go nuts every time the back of quarterbacks went in.
• 21:29
[SPEAKER_02]: And these, and the preseason this year, because it wasn't good enough, and they did something about it.
• 21:34
[SPEAKER_02]: We'll find out if what they did, right thing.
• 21:36
  [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, go ahead.
• 21:37
[SPEAKER_03]: Two seasons ago in training camp in the preseason.
• 21:40
[SPEAKER_03]: We saw Mike White and Skylar Thompson Literally and I hate using this where we just suck for a month if they were terrible We did not we didn't sound like it is that word Mike that old off the top really easily
• 21:52
[SPEAKER_03]: We did nothing to try and improve the position.
• 21:56
[SPEAKER_03]: We just said on our hands like, well, I guess we'll cut Mike while you'll keep Skyler, that's fine.
• 21:59
[SPEAKER_03]: It's like, no, they didn't even try to do anything.
• 22:01
[SPEAKER_03]: There's a fact that they're trying, just as like, half the battle's won.
• 22:05
[SPEAKER_03]: And here's just another thought, how good is green-based roster that they couldn't find a way to hold onto this guy, that they felt they had to trade him because they were going to cut them because they couldn't find a spot to keep him because their number two is,
• 22:19
[SPEAKER_03]: Tyrad Taylor and I get a for a team that's trying to win a Super Bowl like they are they want the guy to the vet with the experience Yeah, but they didn't even have a roster spot to try and hold on to them So how good is the Packers roster which gives me hope maybe in a year or two We're gonna have a roster so good that we're gonna have to do it move like this Or like we want to keep this young kid who torn up in the I know it's the free season But I run there in fact I tear it up in the free season look amazing then not so they could even sneak this guy on the roster They look we got a trade up
• 22:48
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean, I'm with you and you know what we all have to sit there and and knowledge we have to acknowledge that you know, down there accelerations been a part of organization for so long that they've gotten the right over and over and over again on quarterbacks.
• 23:03
[SPEAKER_00]: And so when when you're evaluating guys, you know, and he's evaluated so many guys, I'm sure, and I'm sure he evaluated all these guys out of the draft, you know,
• 23:12
[SPEAKER_00]: This quarterback thing might be his guru when it comes to going out there and find a guy.
• 23:17
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, we, you know, we weren't in a position.
• 23:19
  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think this year.
• 23:20
[SPEAKER_00]: I honestly, the take guy, you know, a quarterback, because the quarterback said, you know, that this draft class was wasn't very good.
• 23:27
[SPEAKER_00]: If there would have been somebody, like if it's next year's draft, probably don't get came in proctor.
• 23:33
[SPEAKER_00]: And we probably would grab somebody there.
• 23:35
[SPEAKER_00]: And then we might not, you know, might not go after Malik Willis.
• 23:38
[SPEAKER_00]: But I'd like the fact that we got a guy in
• 23:42
[SPEAKER_00]: probably look at a million, million, million tapes of quarterback because that's what they do at Green Bay and they get it right all the time.
• 23:45
[SPEAKER_00]: So, he's got to see the recipe, right you?
• 23:46
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
• 23:58
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm going on there you know what else he said was that because I think so I forget the exact question, but somebody asked him like, well, what are the qualities you look for that are, you know, the core reference of the table and he talked about decision making and, you know, protecting the football and, you know, he's like, you can't turn the football over receivers can't drop the ball.
• 24:20
[SPEAKER_02]: quarterback running backs can't lay the ball in the ground, go back and look at some of the errors that happened this preseason and guys who were released, punts that were dropped, touch to, you know, wide open touchdowns that were dropped in the end zone and and look what happened to those guys.
• 24:35
[SPEAKER_02]: So there doesn't seem to be a high tolerance for those types of mistakes.
• 24:39
[SPEAKER_02]: And I would imagine when you are a fringe guy trying to make the roster,
• 24:43
[SPEAKER_02]: you have to shine when you get those little moments that you get in the preseason, you have to shine.
• 24:49
[SPEAKER_02]: And if you don't, why are we wasting our time?
• 24:52
  [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
• 24:52
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, it's a it's a small window for those guys and a small opportunity, you know, and they've gotten some opportunities to see these guys always from like April, you know, always through to, you know, to current day and, you know, you get those opportunities.
• 25:06
[SPEAKER_00]: It's okay to see how, how well you run after on the field.
• 25:09
[SPEAKER_00]: It's okay to see how well you lift in the weight room and all those things and you're, you know, but when you get a chance to go out there and play football, which is what Coach Haffley talks about a lot.
• 25:20
[SPEAKER_00]: You got and you and you don't produce.
• 25:22
  [SPEAKER_00]: That's, who cares?
• 25:24
  [SPEAKER_00]: Right, so big.
• 25:25
  [SPEAKER_00]: Thanks, who cares?
• 25:29
  [SPEAKER_00]: Just for us.
• 25:30
  [SPEAKER_02]: Just for us.
• 25:31
[SPEAKER_02]: What a perfect place to freeze though.
• 25:32
  [SPEAKER_02]: Who cares?
• 25:33
  [SPEAKER_02]: Somebody screenshot that.
• 25:35
  [SPEAKER_02]: Somebody screenshot that.
• 25:36
[SPEAKER_02]: Juice, I don't know if you can hear us still.
• 25:38
[SPEAKER_02]: We got to get you back on.
• 25:40
  [SPEAKER_02]: But what a what a great.
• 25:41
  [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, man.
• 25:43
  [SPEAKER_01]: Who cares?
• 25:45
  [SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
• 25:45
[SPEAKER_02]: Let's see if we can find them before we sign off.
• 25:47
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to sign off if you can.
• 25:48
  [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
• 25:53
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, Jake, can you hear me?
• 25:54
  [SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
• 25:55
  [SPEAKER_02]: I'm talking, I just sent him a text.
• 25:58
[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll see what happens.
• 25:59
[SPEAKER_02]: But I agree with him.
• 26:00
[SPEAKER_02]: Like if, yeah, the ultimate reason that these guys are here is to play is to provide value to this roster, especially the guys that played this season.
• 26:10
  [SPEAKER_02]: They weren't the guys.
• 26:13
[SPEAKER_02]: Halfly and Sullivan, very, they were forced.
• 26:16
[SPEAKER_02]: It was out of necessity that they gave very limited opportunities to the guys that they're expecting to make plays this season because they had to protect the roster because of that cliff.
• 26:28
  [SPEAKER_02]: And yeah.
• 26:28
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, here's one thing, too, I think we got to talk about.
• 26:31
[SPEAKER_03]: If you're a, which I've used this term, a Chris Greer left over, unless you're like, each end or Brooks, you're probably, you're on alert.
• 26:40
[SPEAKER_03]: They want you guys, you're on a alert.
• 26:43
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, they definitely do, but I don't think that they're doing it just for the sake of you.
• 26:46
[SPEAKER_03]: No, not doing it for the sake of doing a but if it's close, they're probably going to go with their guy over someone they didn't have a hand and bring it.
• 26:52
  [SPEAKER_02]: Well, that's true.
• 26:52
  [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
• 26:54
[SPEAKER_02]: Which makes sense because there's absolutely.
• 26:56
[SPEAKER_02]: If you're just on a line, do you want to go with your guy or someone down on my ship?
• 27:02
[SPEAKER_02]: That's it, and I would want that from an ownership perspective, because I don't want to hear well that wasn't my guy, right?
• 27:12
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, because we heard rumors that Mike McDaniel who just told us how Tula was the perfect quarterback
• 27:18
[SPEAKER_02]: for and I understand why he did all of that.
• 27:20
[SPEAKER_02]: But he told us how to it was the perfect quarterback for his system towards the end.
• 27:25
[SPEAKER_02]: It, you know, people started to in the media started to have sympathy for Mike McDaniel that he was limited at quarterback.
• 27:32
  [SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, wait a minute.
• 27:33
[SPEAKER_02]: You said this guy should get $100 million.
• 27:35
[SPEAKER_02]: Can't ever stop this guy was perfect.
• 27:37
[SPEAKER_02]: And now you're saying, well, I want to choose my own quarterback this time, hold on.
• 27:42
[SPEAKER_02]: So I'll have wrong with that.
• 27:44
[SPEAKER_02]: If I've cleaned house and you want to clean house, fine, because now you have to own every decision that you made.
• 27:50
[SPEAKER_03]: And I risked here's one other thing, too, as a way for OJ to return.
• 27:55
[SPEAKER_03]: Kenneth Grant, starting here on IR, look, I'm sure he's heard, I'm not saying he's not heard.
• 28:00
[SPEAKER_03]: That's just a bad home in the me though.
• 28:01
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, and then halfway was asked today, if he thinks he'll be back after he has to miss the mandatory four games, he was like, hope, which I don't expect him to say straight answer anyways, but that's the way he goes, I hope.
• 28:15
[SPEAKER_03]: Grant needs to get on this field sooner rather than later.
• 28:18
[SPEAKER_03]: I know he has to miss four games.
• 28:20
  [SPEAKER_03]: That's fine.
• 28:20
[SPEAKER_03]: But he's got to play well this year for this team.
• 28:22
  [SPEAKER_03]: He really does.
• 28:24
  [SPEAKER_02]: I don't disagree.
• 28:25
  [SPEAKER_02]: I don't disagree.
• 28:25
[SPEAKER_03]: There's a lot of pressure on him and chop.
• 28:26
[SPEAKER_03]: I have a lot of pressure on them.
• 28:28
  [SPEAKER_03]: Both of them.
• 28:28
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, and I think chop more so than any course of the grant, but I think we look at the rest of the where's the past rush?
• 28:35
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, and half Lee is it.
• 28:38
[SPEAKER_02]: We are going to need to see Jeff Halfley's expertise as a defensive coordinator to to to scheme up some past rush.
• 28:45
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think juice is going to make it back on.
• 28:48
[SPEAKER_02]: I think we got to get in it.
• 28:50
  [SPEAKER_02]: and internet issue.
• 28:51
  [SPEAKER_02]: I'm texting him here.
• 28:52
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if he's trying, but yeah, let me let it go.
• 28:56
  [SPEAKER_03]: We'll be good.
• 28:57
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so well, there you go.
• 28:58
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm glad you brought that up.
• 28:59
[SPEAKER_02]: If you're with us, which I don't know who all these folks are who are here still with us, but thank goodness.
• 29:05
  [SPEAKER_03]: We were wondering.
• 29:05
  [SPEAKER_03]: Hold on.
• 29:06
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, we got his back.
• 29:08
  [SPEAKER_02]: Is he back?
• 29:09
  [SPEAKER_03]: He's trying to connect.
• 29:10
[SPEAKER_03]: I see the things circulate.
• 29:11
  [SPEAKER_03]: There he is.
• 29:12
  [SPEAKER_03]: He's back.
• 29:13
  [SPEAKER_02]: Let's go.
• 29:25
[SPEAKER_02]: Jesus coming live from Chris Perkins, condo, I didn't know.
• 29:31
  [SPEAKER_02]: This is unbelievable.
• 29:33
[SPEAKER_02]: We definitely, so speaking of that, we'll see if Perk makes it to tomorrow night's live.
• 29:39
[SPEAKER_02]: You didn't miss a whole lot, but we definitely are glad that you were able to join us again before we sign off here.
• 29:46
[SPEAKER_02]: But I do want to thank all the people.
• 29:47
[SPEAKER_02]: We were wondering if anybody was going to make it.
• 29:49
[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe they're on their lunch break.
• 29:50
[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe if you're sitting in your cubicle quietly and nobody knows
• 29:54
[SPEAKER_03]: for 11 30 on a Tuesday and we got like 310 people here watch us.
• 29:58
  [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, let's go.
• 29:59
  [SPEAKER_03]: I'll take it.
• 30:00
[SPEAKER_02]: It must be football season.
• 30:02
[SPEAKER_03]: Not an ideal type of age.
• 30:03
  [SPEAKER_03]: You know, so we've got 310.
• 30:05
  [SPEAKER_03]: That's it.
• 30:06
  [SPEAKER_02]: That's it.
• 30:07
[SPEAKER_02]: And we hope we see all of you tomorrow night on fish tank live.
• 30:11
[SPEAKER_02]: 830 right back here on the Dolphins talk YouTube channel.
• 30:15
[SPEAKER_02]: And we'll have a few more of our friends joining us as well.
• 30:18
  [SPEAKER_00]: That's right.
• 30:19
  [SPEAKER_00]: All right.
• 30:20
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just before we lose you.
• 30:21
[SPEAKER_02]: Why don't you get us out of here?
• 30:24
  [SPEAKER_00]: Did you hear him?
• 30:24
  [SPEAKER_00]: Did you hear me?
• 30:25
  [SPEAKER_00]: Did you hear me?
• 30:26
  [SPEAKER_00]: Did you hear me?
• 30:27
  [SPEAKER_00]: Did you hear me?
• 30:29
  [SPEAKER_01]: Did you hear me?
• 30:29
  [SPEAKER_01]: Did you hear me?
• 30:30
  [SPEAKER_01]: Did you hear me?
• 30:32
  [SPEAKER_01]: Did you hear me?
• 30:34
  [SPEAKER_01]: Did you hear me?
• 30:35
  [SPEAKER_01]: Did you hear me?
• 30:36
  [SPEAKER_01]: Did you hear me?
• 30:36
  [SPEAKER_01]: Did you hear me?
• 30:38
  [SPEAKER_01]: Did you hear me?
• 30:39
  [SPEAKER_01]: Did you hear me?
• 30:39
  [SPEAKER_01]: Did you hear me?
• 30:41
  [SPEAKER_01]: Did you hear me?
• 30:41
  [SPEAKER_01]: Did you hear me?
• 30:42
  [SPEAKER_01]: Did you hear me?
• 30:43
  [SPEAKER_01]: Did you hear me?
• 30:43
  [SPEAKER_01]: Did you hear me?
• 30:44
  [SPEAKER_01]: Did you hear me?
• 30:45
  [SPEAKER_01]: Did you hear me?
• 30:45
  [SPEAKER_01]: Did you hear me?
• 30:46
  [SPEAKER_01]: Did you hear me?
• 30:48
  [SPEAKER_01]: Did you hear me?
• 30:49
  [SPEAKER_01]: Did you hear me?
• 30:50
