- 0:03Speaker 1: This is a Bramble Jam podcast this week on Yo
- 0:13Speaker 1: gavel Gable. If your son's friend gets mad about losing
- 0:16Speaker 1: a card game and breaks the door in your house,
- 0:18Speaker 1: can you sue their parents? Judge Matthews says you, gi oh, No,
- 0:22Speaker 1: you didn't. And if your black neighbor possibly kills your
- 0:26Speaker 1: giant pig, can you call them the inward? Judge Million
- 0:30Speaker 1: tells us real people, o cases, fake justice. This is
- 0:33Speaker 1: your gavil Gable energy. Why did you match my energy?
- 0:41Speaker 1: And it's Judge Faith, Judge Million, Judge Million, Okay, Okay, okay,
- 0:46Speaker 1: because I think Judge Faith, that's a two second case, right,
- 0:49Speaker 1: this is a full boy Okay. Well to the gaol
- 0:53Speaker 1: where Brand brings the room down. Man I started us
- 0:58Speaker 1: off strong with U gi oh, very excited about that,
- 1:03Speaker 1: Yuki Yo Yuki. Oh gee oh what if Rufio's name
- 1:07Speaker 1: was Yuki wouldn't be upsetting about that. It's the first
- 1:10Speaker 1: one joining us, Hi, thanks for joining us. Fan normous
- 1:14Speaker 1: Occasionally sometimes like today, sometimes.
- 1:18Speaker 2: You see racists. This is a very simple show. Dan,
- 1:22Speaker 2: You and I we love TV courtum shows. We each
- 1:25Speaker 2: watch a case, we tell the other person about the
- 1:26Speaker 2: case that they didn't see and they have to guess
- 1:29Speaker 2: the verdict and then we do the same thing, flippit
- 1:31Speaker 2: and reverse it.
- 1:32Speaker 1: It's very simple. It's very simple. It's very wonderful and
- 1:35Speaker 1: I love it, and uh, that's the best. How do
- 1:37Speaker 1: we want to handle it? Do we want to get
- 1:39Speaker 1: the racist out of the way? Yeah? I get the
- 1:42Speaker 1: racist time. We're at the people's court today, Alan Suber
- 1:46Speaker 1: Alan Alan Suber is suing his neighbor, Victoria ben Adetto
- 1:53Speaker 1: and her whole family that's in the courtroom with her,
- 1:56Speaker 1: for three thousand dollars for harassment. Three thousand, three thousand
- 2:01Speaker 1: dollars for harassment. You're ready to go, let's do it,
- 2:04Speaker 1: Alan says. The harassment from Victoria has been going on
- 2:08Speaker 1: for six years and it all leads to August of
- 2:12Speaker 1: twenty thirteen, where you had just finished cutting his grass
- 2:16Speaker 1: and decided that he was going to trim the overgrown
- 2:20Speaker 1: hedges from her yard that were coming over top of his.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Is with your trees on my pool deck gues and
- 2:26Speaker 2: you have every right to cut, every right to trim them,
- 2:28Speaker 2: that's right. And so you know if your tree would
- 2:32Speaker 2: follow in my yard and mess up my house for
- 2:35Speaker 2: my pool, do you know whose insurance would pay for that?
- 2:37Speaker 1: I don't know. I just thought of it just now.
- 2:40Speaker 1: If it damages your your tree, damages my probably let's
- 2:44Speaker 1: say it ruins my pool. Do you have insurance on
- 2:47Speaker 1: your pool? I have homeowner's insurance. I don't know. How
- 2:49Speaker 1: does that work? Is the pool a part of my
- 2:52Speaker 1: homeowner's insurance? Doesn't know that I have a pool? Yes,
- 2:54Speaker 1: it probably wouldn't. They wouldn't touch it. They wouldn't. They
- 2:57Speaker 1: wouldn't touch it. But would your insurance? I don't know.
- 3:00Speaker 1: I guess would be no. Interesting. But you trees in
- 3:02Speaker 1: your yard? I know, I don't know. I'm looking up. Sorry,
- 3:05Speaker 1: go ahead, an so he Uh he's doing that right.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Judge asks about the fence, and he says, yes, we
- 3:14Speaker 2: have a fence that separates our house.
- 3:16Speaker 1: It goes up until my driveway. Uh. And then you
- 3:20Speaker 1: know I can see your yard from my driveway and
- 3:23Speaker 1: your your liability coverage will cover any damage to a
- 3:27Speaker 1: neighbor's property. Okay, So you better have insurance, mofo. Yeah,
- 3:32Speaker 1: we've passed. We passed, we passed on the home insurance.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Uh so uh, he says, but my insurance also covers
- 3:43Speaker 1: damage from a fallen tree regardless of Food's property it's on.
- 3:48Speaker 1: So it's a both a double double covered. I'm double covered. Yeah,
- 3:52Speaker 1: I feel great about this. Sorry back to you.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Offer to run through my insurance first, because it feels
- 3:59Speaker 2: like it's my foot. It doesn't feel like it's the
- 4:02Speaker 2: storm's fault. Yeah, but it's I don't know. Yeah, it's
- 4:04Speaker 2: a big tree. Yeah, it's a big tree. But it's
- 4:06Speaker 2: like it's a good tree. It's a lot of character
- 4:09Speaker 2: in there, A lot of character in that tree. Been
- 4:11Speaker 2: around a lot longer than we have, you know what
- 4:12Speaker 2: I mean.
- 4:12Speaker 1: We got to take care of it. So he uh
- 4:19Speaker 1: submits pictures basically showing his perfectly manicured yard and lawn
- 4:24Speaker 1: and bushes and all that stuff compared to her house,
- 4:28Speaker 1: which is is there's a lot going on on her yard,
- 4:33Speaker 1: lots of just random things.
- 4:35Speaker 2: There's a couch in her driveway, it's a lot in
- 4:38Speaker 2: her driveway. How'd you get her car out? She doesn't
- 4:40Speaker 2: park in the driving great.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:43Speaker 2: And then there's a tiny chair with a stuffed monkey
- 4:47Speaker 2: on it that he says is on her property facing
- 4:51Speaker 2: his property in a spot that only he can see.
- 4:55Speaker 2: He says that he finds it incredibly offensive, especially given
- 4:58Speaker 2: the argument that he's about to get into.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Is this a new case or is this an old boy?
- 5:04Speaker 1: He's okay, all right, So uh, he's trimming back the
- 5:10Speaker 1: bushes and she comes, She pulls up in her truck.
- 5:13Speaker 1: She comes out running, yelling you sneaky inward, over and
- 5:18Speaker 1: over and over again. Does he she admitted, we'll get
- 5:22Speaker 1: to it. She accuses him of uh cutting.
- 5:26Speaker 2: She accuses him of cutting her bushes on her property
- 5:30Speaker 2: without her permission. She claims that he went onto her
- 5:33Speaker 2: property to cut the bushes, not from behind his fence. Okay, okay,
- 5:41Speaker 2: So he calls the cops. All of this is happening
- 5:44Speaker 2: in front of her nine year old daughter, who is
- 5:46Speaker 2: also in the courtroom today as a witness, and he
- 5:50Speaker 2: claims that she's over there, she's crying, he's embarrassed. All
- 5:53Speaker 2: the neighbors are out watching. It's a whole thing, and
- 5:56Speaker 2: so he calls the police. He says he's called the
- 5:58Speaker 2: police on her at least a dozen times. He's had
- 6:00Speaker 2: a restraining on her place because one of her drunk
- 6:03Speaker 2: friends came over one time, banging on the door one
- 6:05Speaker 2: night accusing me of killing a pig. So, uh, he
- 6:12Speaker 2: has called the mayor's office.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Okay, he has called the code enforcer who comes out
- 6:17Speaker 1: all the time to try to enforce his office. I
- 6:20Speaker 1: don't know, give what now, I don't think this is
- 6:25Speaker 1: a lot of departments. Uh, let us enforcers. Let us
- 6:30Speaker 1: know if you want us to cut a ribbon at
- 6:33Speaker 1: a ceremony about a library. No or no town hall,
- 6:38Speaker 1: no splash bad in a public park. Uh, it is
- 6:42Speaker 1: victorious turn to talk. She claims that, uh, he uses
- 6:47Speaker 1: chemicals on his yard that ruins her bushes. She says
- 6:53Speaker 1: that all of the bushes and stuff that are on
- 6:57Speaker 1: her side of the side of her house his closest
- 7:00Speaker 1: to his driveway, are dead, while all of the bushes
- 7:04Speaker 1: on the other side of the house are alive. She
- 7:07Speaker 1: says that he is purposely spraying chemicals onto her yard
- 7:13Speaker 1: to kill bushes and stuff. Okay, obviously that's not what
- 7:19Speaker 1: any of us care about right now.
- 7:21Speaker 2: No, I want to know about the sneaky inward situation.
- 7:25Speaker 2: So yeah, what this is what she says. One day,
- 7:30Speaker 2: I catch him.
- 7:31Speaker 1: He was always trimming the bushes.
- 7:35Speaker 2: When I'm gone, but I caught him this time in
- 7:38Speaker 2: her yard, in her yard. I get out and I Yeah,
- 7:43Speaker 2: the words start to flow out, and I say, you
- 7:46Speaker 2: sneaky inward. I go over the next day and I
- 7:51Speaker 2: apologize for it, and he tells me that I'm going
- 7:54Speaker 2: to need a good lawyer. Now, Judge Million is real
- 8:01Speaker 2: about this. She said, uh, she said that she said
- 8:05Speaker 2: the word in the Victoria Alan didn't Alan who is black?
- 8:16Speaker 1: Did it not? Victoria? Did she said it out loud?
- 8:22Speaker 1: We know that because we can't hear it at home.
- 8:26Speaker 1: That's the worst word. So how do I know it's
- 8:30Speaker 1: the worst word? So just the word? She says, it's
- 8:34Speaker 1: not not only did you do say it in front
- 8:38Speaker 1: of your daughter, you came here into a courtroom with
- 8:42Speaker 1: that same daughter and said it again. I'm so against
- 8:46Speaker 1: like capital punishment, you know. But if somebody shot her?
- 8:50Speaker 1: What if somebody shot her?
- 8:52Speaker 2: We'll wait until you hear about her pig So he
- 8:56Speaker 2: was in her yard? No, he says that he wasn't
- 8:59Speaker 2: reserve Judge, that's till the end. Plase, No, so you
- 9:01Speaker 2: hear it, Well, they hear all that, But that's first,
- 9:03Speaker 2: there's a dead pick.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Judgment has already been. There's a dead pick. Okay, So
- 9:08Speaker 1: she says, I know what I did was wrong and
- 9:11Speaker 1: off color, off color? Did you you dumb be she's
- 9:18Speaker 1: dumb and racist? Judge says, no, it was racist. She says,
- 9:23Speaker 1: I'm not a racist. It was say friends, did she
- 9:26Speaker 1: say that? She does not say. Okay, She says it
- 9:29Speaker 1: was a mistake. Judge says, I usually just think the
- 9:32Speaker 1: in word, I don't say it out loud. Judge Million
- 9:37Speaker 1: says it's one thing.
- 9:39Speaker 2: You know, if you're in your car and you're wrapping
- 9:41Speaker 2: jay Z and it slips out, want well hold on.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Her point is wait for it.
- 9:47Speaker 2: Her point is if you want to then argue that
- 9:49Speaker 2: you're not a racist, maybe we can have that conversation.
- 9:52Speaker 2: But when you're angry with your neighbor and you call
- 9:55Speaker 2: them the in word, you're a racist.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Yeah. So yeah.
- 10:00Speaker 2: The issue here is that Victoria says that Alan came
- 10:05Speaker 2: onto her property to cut the bushes.
- 10:08Speaker 1: She has a witness, not her daughter. It's a gentleman.
- 10:12Speaker 2: And he stands up and he says, we pull up,
- 10:16Speaker 2: he is on her property. She calls him a sneaky
- 10:19Speaker 2: inward and he says, oh you think I'm a sneaky inward,
- 10:24Speaker 2: I'll show you a sneaky inWORD.
- 10:26Speaker 1: And then they get on their truck. They're feeling scared.
- 10:28Speaker 1: They drive off. So Judge asks Alan, I'm Alan, it's
- 10:37Speaker 1: the only thing bringing levity right now. If he's ever
- 10:41Speaker 1: had a code violation cited on for her, like called
- 10:45Speaker 1: the code all the thing? He's like, yeah, all the time,
- 10:48Speaker 1: he says, I call for code violations all the time.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Furniture in her driveway, a picture of a middle finger
- 10:53Speaker 1: in the window facing my house. Judge is like what.
- 11:00Speaker 1: She does not dispute the picture of the middle finger
- 11:02Speaker 1: of the picture in the in the window facing the house,
- 11:05Speaker 1: she says. She says, I did that after he killed
- 11:09Speaker 1: my pig. Okay, with the pig? Where is what state?
- 11:14Speaker 1: Are they from? New Jersey? What? Yeah?
- 11:17Speaker 2: My pig that U god man, My pig that a
- 11:23Speaker 2: friend got for my daughter, that was supposed to live
- 11:26Speaker 2: until he was fifteen, died when he was three. She
- 11:30Speaker 2: asks if he if she has proof that he poisoned
- 11:34Speaker 2: the pig.
- 11:34Speaker 1: She says, no. But the night that my pig died,
- 11:38Speaker 1: it's cold. I look outside. I see him sitting outside
- 11:41Speaker 1: in his backyard for four hours watching my house. I
- 11:46Speaker 1: wonder why anythink Alan killed the pig. No, you don't
- 11:51Speaker 1: think maybe there's a chance he can. No, you don't
- 11:54Speaker 1: think there's a chance that he kills the No, No,
- 11:57Speaker 1: this happened before the sneaky in word yes, no way,
- 12:01Speaker 1: zero chance he killed the pig. If you tell me
- 12:04Speaker 1: he did it after that, there's a chance he killed
- 12:07Speaker 1: the pick. But before then, no way. I'm not saying
- 12:09Speaker 1: he definitely killed the pig. All I'm saying is this
- 12:12Speaker 1: guy's called for a lot of issues and then she
- 12:17Speaker 1: gets a pig like so I can see being like
- 12:21Speaker 1: being like, oh, this is like the end of like
- 12:23Speaker 1: end of the straw in the straw. I'll just say this.
- 12:29Speaker 2: He doesn't really address the pig situation. I'm not saying
- 12:33Speaker 2: you definitely killed him.
- 12:35Speaker 1: I just I'm I don't know how a guy's sitting
- 12:38Speaker 1: outside for four hours equates to pig killing. It's cold outside. Still,
- 12:43Speaker 1: it's cold outside. So Alan, wait until you hear what
- 12:48Speaker 1: Alan says. Ways, hear what Alic says.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Later, Alan says, I am taking her to be criminally
- 12:55Speaker 2: charged in four days for the same reason harassment. She's
- 12:58Speaker 2: been harassing me, and I'm done with it. He gives
- 13:01Speaker 2: a judgement paperwork showcasing the information that it is going
- 13:04Speaker 2: to be used against her to be criminally charged.
- 13:07Speaker 1: She goes to recess. She swings, She goes out as
- 13:11Speaker 1: the slide a few times. Yeah, she comes back back.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Yeah an any jungle gym, No jungle gym, just just
- 13:16Speaker 1: swinging slide, swing slider out of here. Uh. You know
- 13:20Speaker 1: Harvey who's out on the street asking questions? Yeah, Harvey
- 13:23Speaker 1: on the street, Harvey from TMZ. Yes, all right, So
- 13:28Speaker 1: she goes to Recess.
- 13:29Speaker 2: Right, Harvey's out on the street asking random people if accidentally,
- 13:39Speaker 2: if accidentally saying the N word is racist and.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Shag comming at the first guy doesn't immediately say no,
- 13:51Speaker 1: what are we doing? He's like here of our Lord
- 13:55Speaker 1: twenty fourteen. Basically, the first guys like I wouldn't need
- 13:58Speaker 1: to hear more information, shouldn't be allowed to vote. So
- 14:01Speaker 1: back inside Recess is over, the bell ring and Judge
- 14:05Speaker 1: comes back in and asks about that monkey. You remember
- 14:09Speaker 1: the monkey? Yes? He says that it first showed up
- 14:13Speaker 1: after I called the police for her putting all of
- 14:16Speaker 1: her grass in my driveway. So part of the issue
- 14:19Speaker 1: here is dan he has spent twenty five thousand dollars
- 14:24Speaker 1: on these pavers in his driveway. Okay, and he really
- 14:32Speaker 1: cares about these pavers, and she will mow the lawn
- 14:37Speaker 1: without a catcher and like it'll all blow into his
- 14:41Speaker 1: yard and it drives him nuts. Yeah, so I called.
- 14:45Speaker 1: I called. You're not fully grown until you start using
- 14:47Speaker 1: a lot more of the bag on it. Sure, that's
- 14:49Speaker 1: when you become full grunt. It's full grown up. It
- 14:52Speaker 1: was like six years ago for me. Yeah, I started
- 14:54Speaker 1: doing it and I was like, I guess I'm old.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Now I guess you're old. I made it, uh and
- 14:58Speaker 1: so uh yeah, he says that once I called up
- 15:03Speaker 1: the city and complained about that happening, then the monkey appears.
- 15:07Speaker 1: So the judge says, here is what does she say
- 15:09Speaker 1: about that? Does she? Does Victoria give anything? No? Okay,
- 15:13Speaker 1: there's clearly a war going on. Yes, But does she
- 15:16Speaker 1: claim she put the monkey out? Because no.
- 15:19Speaker 2: She claims that the chair is a chair that was
- 15:23Speaker 2: made by her best friend and her daughter left her
- 15:25Speaker 2: stuff monkey on the chair.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Okay, got it, that's what she says. Got it because
- 15:29Speaker 1: it is like a kid's it's just stuff. Okay. So
- 15:32Speaker 1: judge says, here's what's still bothering me. Why is it
- 15:36Speaker 1: allan that there is nothing growing on her property close
- 15:41Speaker 1: to your side of the house, and Alan says, I
- 15:45Speaker 1: don't claim to be innocent here. I do spray my papers.
- 15:51Speaker 1: It's possible that it sometimes goes over to her yard,
- 15:56Speaker 1: never intentionally. Okay, so ready to roll. Okay, And he's
- 16:00Speaker 1: suing for three thousand dollars, thousand dollars for harassment. Yeah,
- 16:03Speaker 1: give him a three thousand dollars period, end of story.
- 16:07Speaker 1: I don't care if he's sprayed on purpose. I don't
- 16:09Speaker 1: care if he's sprayed poison on her yard on purpose.
- 16:13Speaker 1: There is a greater wrong and lesser good. It is
- 16:17Speaker 1: not all good or bad. You don't get to do that.
- 16:21Speaker 1: People that go you can't tell me that I don't
- 16:23Speaker 1: care for the poor because you're not always cared for
- 16:25Speaker 1: the That's not how it works. There is worse and
- 16:29Speaker 1: there is better. There is a sliding scale, and Victoria,
- 16:33Speaker 1: you're an F and B you're the worst. Give him
- 16:36Speaker 1: the money. He's gonna get a thousand dollars. Yeah's wrong,
- 16:42Speaker 1: she says Victoria.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Clearly, there is a long a string of events that
- 16:50Speaker 2: would lead to harassment, and you don't just get criminally
- 16:53Speaker 2: charged without proof of that. But also, Alan, you're not
- 16:58Speaker 2: going to get the full amount, because just because her
- 17:00Speaker 2: yard doesn't look as manicured as yours does doesn't give
- 17:03Speaker 2: you the right to take matters into your own hands.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Control what you can control, try to live peacefully as
- 17:09Speaker 2: best that you can. Hopefully you guys can live peacefully.
- 17:12Speaker 2: Boo Billion got it wrong.
- 17:15Speaker 1: That's that's the verdict. I don't know. I'm just picturing
- 17:18Speaker 1: Victoria in my head. I hate it because I know
- 17:22Speaker 1: those cases are real. That's not an acting job. Yeah,
- 17:25Speaker 1: I was sad that the daughter was there. That was sad,
- 17:30Speaker 1: But also I don't know the I wish that Million
- 17:34Speaker 1: would have gotten into the law of harassment and the courts.
- 17:41Speaker 1: It's like space and that, like how like where did
- 17:44Speaker 1: the number three thousand? I guess I'm sorry.
- 17:47Speaker 2: Three thousand is the maximum that he can sue for
- 17:49Speaker 2: harassment in the state of Crazy.
- 17:51Speaker 1: So, but I don't know how she got to the
- 17:53Speaker 1: number one thousand. I don't know. I don't either, but
- 17:55Speaker 1: I would love to hear Million tell me exactly why
- 18:01Speaker 1: she wasn't countersuing. Victoria wasn't countersuing for damages to her lawn.
- 18:07Speaker 1: If if Victoria counter sues for one thousand dollars, he
- 18:12Speaker 1: sues three thousand for harassment, and Million decides to give
- 18:15Speaker 1: her the thousand and take it off and give him
- 18:17Speaker 1: two thousand. I probably wouldn't do that as a judge,
- 18:20Speaker 1: which is why I'm not a judge, but I could
- 18:22Speaker 1: see it. She's just arbitrarily going since you may have
- 18:26Speaker 1: accidentally poisoned her yard, you don't get all of your
- 18:30Speaker 1: harassment claim. What does one have to do with the other.
- 18:34Speaker 1: I don't understand that. It's bad, real bad. Let's go
- 18:39Speaker 1: to Judge Matthes's to talk. Yu gi oh? Shall we
- 18:42Speaker 1: shall we? Yu gi yo? G oh? Dude, wait until
- 18:46Speaker 1: you find out which yukiyoh is the most racist. Dude's
- 18:49Speaker 1: gonna be crazy. That's what this is about. One of them.
- 18:53Speaker 1: He says the N word regularly. Yeah, yui no uh.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Bertha Stanley is suing Teresa Harvin, Bruce Williams, and Billy Williams. Wow,
- 19:05Speaker 1: it's the whole family, Billy, his mom and dad, Teresa Harvin,
- 19:08Speaker 1: Bruce Williams, and then son Billy Williams for eight thirty
- 19:12Speaker 1: three bucks Bertha. Now. Throughout the beginning of Bertha talking
- 19:17Speaker 1: the entire family. On the other side, Billy, Bruce Teresa.
- 19:20Speaker 1: They are all murmuring not true over and over again,
- 19:24Speaker 1: very quietly, and getting amonished by man. Bertha brought her
- 19:30Speaker 1: son with her, but he's not on the official docket.
- 19:34Speaker 1: He does get up and talk about She's said, I'm
- 19:36Speaker 1: here because the defendant son, Billy hurled brick through my
- 19:40Speaker 1: screen door after losing a Yu gi oh card game.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Billy has a bad reputation for anger management issues. Well,
- 19:47Speaker 1: don't play yoh with him. They sent him to the
- 19:49Speaker 1: library at school over the summer. I don't know what
- 19:52Speaker 1: is that, like a big I don't know because option?
- 19:55Speaker 1: And then he vandalized the library and then he sent
- 19:58Speaker 1: a boy to be beat up there. That does her words,
- 20:00Speaker 1: not mine. I don't know what to do with that,
- 20:02Speaker 1: So like, is that an option? Can we just send
- 20:04Speaker 1: our kids library? Son, you have one more chance to
- 20:08Speaker 1: obey or you're going straight to the biblioteca? You okay?
- 20:14Speaker 1: So anyway, I know that's probably not importantly. He's like massively,
- 20:17Speaker 1: how do you know all this stuff about him? Like
- 20:19Speaker 1: send a boy to be beat up there? She's like
- 20:21Speaker 1: for my son, and he goes, all right, this is hearsay,
- 20:24Speaker 1: and I can choose whether to accept hearsay, right now,
- 20:26Speaker 1: I'm gonna accept it, but uh, family, you'll have a
- 20:29Speaker 1: chance to respond. Here's the hearsay, that's right. Echo of
- 20:33Speaker 1: that echo if you tell two people. She keeps going,
- 20:37Speaker 1: he's stolen yu gi oh cards, he has bad sportsmanship,
- 20:41Speaker 1: like all this stuff that she probably has a witnessed,
- 20:45Speaker 1: and and and Mathis is like, your only evidence of
- 20:48Speaker 1: this is your son's testimony, and she says yes. Teresa says,
- 20:52Speaker 1: your honor, I'm sorry. He goes, all right, let's go
- 20:54Speaker 1: over to the family. Teresa Harvin says, you're honor. First
- 20:57Speaker 1: of all, we don't know these people. Okay. Bertha goes,
- 21:01Speaker 1: you've been to my house. In Mathis goes, have they
- 21:04Speaker 1: been to your house because of this incident? And Bertha goes, yeah.
- 21:08Speaker 1: He goes, but they've never been to your house, nor
- 21:10Speaker 1: did they know you before the incident. Bertha says that
- 21:12Speaker 1: is correct, and he goes, okay, so they didn't know you. Continue,
- 21:15Speaker 1: Teresa says, my son wasn't supposed to be there. He
- 21:18Speaker 1: got in trouble for being there. A different kid in
- 21:23Speaker 1: our neighborhood knocked on the door. It was the middle
- 21:25Speaker 1: of summer. They asked if Billy could come out and
- 21:27Speaker 1: play in the yard. Okay, he went out to play
- 21:29Speaker 1: in the yard. It was just before nighttime, at nine pm.
- 21:32Speaker 1: We look around, Billy's not home yet. My husband Bruce
- 21:36Speaker 1: goes out and he's like, where's Billy? Right? He talks
- 21:43Speaker 1: to the other kids. They're like, he went to play
- 21:45Speaker 1: at this other guy's house. And Bruce is like, I
- 21:48Speaker 1: don't know where that is. Well, Bruce comes back in.
- 21:50Speaker 1: He's like, how do we find out where this guy lives?
- 21:52Speaker 1: We're really mad. Bruce is like, he wasn't outside. I
- 21:55Speaker 1: went to look for him. And as I'm trying to
- 21:57Speaker 1: figure out where this guy lives, he comes in the door.
- 22:00Speaker 1: The door, it's about eleven o'clock. He comes inside. He
- 22:04Speaker 1: was disobedient. He was punished for being disobedient, but uh,
- 22:09Speaker 1: that was it, and he was clearly angry when he
- 22:11Speaker 1: came in. Matthis says Bruce Teresa or yeah, Bruce Teresa.
- 22:16Speaker 1: Library vandalism, getting the kid beat up, stolen cards. Have
- 22:20Speaker 1: you ever heard of this, Billy? He says? Young man.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Billy says no. Parents say no. All of them say no,
- 22:28Speaker 1: say no. That's the Mathews fact. Oh get ready, Mathis
- 22:32Speaker 1: says son, have you ever been accused of stealing Yu
- 22:35Speaker 1: gi oh cards? Billy says no, and his parents say
- 22:40Speaker 1: yes at the exact same time. Oh no, Uh matthis
- 22:48Speaker 1: is like baby's first lying under row. Well, well, this
- 22:52Speaker 1: is unfortunate for you guys, because somebody's lying. So he
- 22:55Speaker 1: goes back to birth. He say, tell me the story.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Bertha goes on July eleventh, my son and his friends
- 23:01Speaker 1: were in the basement playing Yugio cards. At eleven o'clock.
- 23:04Speaker 1: We heard this explosion. It's a lately yukio since July eleventh,
- 23:07Speaker 1: thir teenagers. Let the kids cook. How old are these kids,
- 23:12Speaker 1: They're like probably fifteen. Let them cook? Uh, And she says,
- 23:16Speaker 1: I heard this explosion. And she's like, Now, I love
- 23:19Speaker 1: my neighbors, but they have they have a tendency of
- 23:22Speaker 1: dropping their air conditioned unit. I don't listen. I don't
- 23:27Speaker 1: I don't have to. I don't have time to get
- 23:29Speaker 1: into the fact that if you drop it once that
- 23:30Speaker 1: bad boy's broken. I don't have time to get into that.
- 23:32Speaker 1: But she says, the other day, I know you told
- 23:34Speaker 1: me about it. She says, they dropped this thing and
- 23:37Speaker 1: it creates this loud noise. But a eleven o'clock. This
- 23:39Speaker 1: is weird, but that's what I thought. It was so
- 23:41Speaker 1: later than they would normally drop drop it, that's right, Yeah,
- 23:44Speaker 1: they drop it drink business hours. I ran downstairs. My
- 23:47Speaker 1: husband runs downstairs. I open up the door, glass falls
- 23:51Speaker 1: at my feet. I was like, hey, what's going on?
- 23:55Speaker 1: And the kids down there said, Billy just ran out
- 23:58Speaker 1: the door and he broke this on his way out.
- 24:01Speaker 1: My husband's like, where's Billy live? One kid knows where
- 24:04Speaker 1: Billy lives. He's like, get in the car. So this
- 24:07Speaker 1: guy at eleven o'clock gets a child that's not his
- 24:10Speaker 1: own in the car with him, and they immediately drive
- 24:13Speaker 1: to run down another to run down another kid who's
- 24:15Speaker 1: escaped their house from losing yu gi oh, Chris. Right.
- 24:19Speaker 1: He drives over the house and he's late for curfew.
- 24:21Speaker 1: He's late for curfew. Right. He knocks on the door
- 24:24Speaker 1: and he this is according to Bertha. He talks to
- 24:27Speaker 1: Billy's father. I have a statement from my husband here.
- 24:29Speaker 1: My husband's not in the courtroom. The statement says Billy's father, Oh, no,
- 24:35Speaker 1: she keeps going. Billy's father came to the door. My
- 24:37Speaker 1: husband told him what Billy did. Billy said he didn't
- 24:40Speaker 1: do it. Billy's dad then told Billy's dad looked at
- 24:43Speaker 1: Billy and said, man up, and then Billy admitted that
- 24:47Speaker 1: he did it. Bruce says, that's not true. I never
- 24:50Speaker 1: did that. Billy said, that's not true. I never did that.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Ah Bertha says, the next day, I hear mumbling and
- 24:56Speaker 1: cussing outside my house saying that this door doesn't cost
- 25:01Speaker 1: so and so, and they're cursing. Mathis goes, so they
- 25:06Speaker 1: agreed to pay for the door. She says, yes, but
- 25:09Speaker 1: then he got belligerent with the people from home depot
- 25:12Speaker 1: and changed his mind. Honestly, who hasn't And Bruce said,
- 25:16Speaker 1: take me to court. Bruce then says, you're un or
- 25:18Speaker 1: none of that's true. That's not true. That didn't happen.
- 25:21Speaker 1: What happened was they came around. The father said that
- 25:26Speaker 1: Billy got mad and broke the door. I went over
- 25:29Speaker 1: to the house, Teresa said, at eleven, oh, Teresa, thing
- 25:32Speaker 1: goes at eleven o'clock, her husband is at my house, raging, cursing, yelling,
- 25:38Speaker 1: you're gonna pay me one thousand dollars by the end
- 25:40Speaker 1: of the month. That's gonna be me on you, Matthew,
- 25:43Speaker 1: Fortune's mathis is like, why the end of the month
- 25:46Speaker 1: is it? Rent? I don't understand, Matthis doesn't understand that.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Teresa's like your honor. We've never seen this guy day
- 25:52Speaker 1: in their life. He's on our porch, he's yelling. We
- 25:55Speaker 1: also asked Billy. He said he was angry because he
- 25:58Speaker 1: lost the Yu Gi Oh card game and he left
- 26:00Speaker 1: our house knowing he was in trouble for not coming
- 26:02Speaker 1: home until eleven.
- 26:04Speaker 2: But but Billy Billy insists that he did not.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Break the door. Correct, Matthew says, let me hear from Billy.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Billy says, I was at the house like ten forty five.
- 26:16Speaker 1: I lost the game. I was mad. I left the basement.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Minutes later, I'm walking home. I hear a big boom
- 26:22Speaker 1: on the street Stacey Acy Guys AC Bros. Fifteen minutes later,
- 26:27Speaker 1: I'm home. And then right after that, his dad is
- 26:29Speaker 1: screaming at us, cursing why I broke his door even
- 26:33Speaker 1: though I didn't do it. I said I didn't do it.
- 26:34Speaker 1: I meant it. Matthews says, you think it's a coincidence
- 26:38Speaker 1: that within a few minutes of you being angry that
- 26:41Speaker 1: the door was shattered. Billy looks at his mom. Teresa goes, yes,
- 26:46Speaker 1: I do I think it was a coincidence. Well, anyone
- 26:49Speaker 1: else lose. Andrew gets up there, the kid from the
- 26:52Speaker 1: other fan, and he says, me and Billy were playing
- 26:54Speaker 1: yu gi. Oh, he won carts. He won two cards
- 26:58Speaker 1: that I really wanted. Decided to play for those two cards.
- 27:02Speaker 1: I beat him fair and square. Oh he knew I
- 27:05Speaker 1: beat him fair rules. He yeah, loser walksaks, walks, Uh,
- 27:12Speaker 1: he knew like I beat him farron square. He leaves
- 27:15Speaker 1: and thirty he walks out, storms out of the basement.
- 27:17Speaker 1: Thirty seconds later, we hear a big boom. My mom
- 27:21Speaker 1: thought someone next door dropped the ac unit. My dad
- 27:23Speaker 1: thought we were horsing around and got out of hand.
- 27:25Speaker 1: We go up to the door at the top of
- 27:27Speaker 1: the basement. It's busted. The next day, Billy told me
- 27:31Speaker 1: it's the best part of this door. The next day,
- 27:34Speaker 1: Billy told me it was a white kid with red
- 27:36Speaker 1: hair that broke my door. Billy said it. Billy said
- 27:40Speaker 1: that Billy was already gone. Billy, according to Andrew, said
- 27:44Speaker 1: a white a white boy with red hair broke your door.
- 27:47Speaker 2: Andrew told him that Billy said. Andrew says that Billy
- 27:51Speaker 2: told the ham that a white.
- 27:52Speaker 1: Where was Where was Andrew? Andrew is in the basement.
- 27:56Speaker 1: Andrew had gone down to the basement, Andrews in the
- 27:58Speaker 1: basement playing Yu gi oh. Billy ms out, and then
- 28:01Speaker 1: Billy says he was down the street. Andrew says, Billy
- 28:04Speaker 1: came back the next day and said, I saw a
- 28:06Speaker 1: white kid break your basement door. I don't know, but
- 28:09Speaker 1: we get this great like, we get this overview shot
- 28:11Speaker 1: of the courtroom where there's not a white person to
- 28:13Speaker 1: be found except the bailiff. And he goes and it's
- 28:18Speaker 1: really funny. It's really really it's really really funny. So, uh,
- 28:26Speaker 1: Mathis is like, okay, all right, we're getting a little
- 28:29Speaker 1: distracted here, Sir. Did you go to home depot with them?
- 28:34Speaker 1: Bruce then says, yes, I did. I went to home depot.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Maths says, why he goes just to see? Maths says,
- 28:43Speaker 1: see what. Bruce says, how much the door was because
- 28:47Speaker 1: you know what, as much as arre yelling and screaming,
- 28:49Speaker 1: if the door was cheap, I was just gonna give
- 28:52Speaker 1: him a door to stop the whole thing. But then
- 28:55Speaker 1: their story kept changing and so I was done. It's
- 28:59Speaker 1: fair to me. Mathis is ready to rule. Thirty three
- 29:04Speaker 1: dollars new door, eight hundred and thirty two bucks. That's
- 29:07Speaker 1: an expensive door. Thirty three now, yeah, now we're pushing it.
- 29:13Speaker 1: That's an expensive door. I haven't bought a door in
- 29:16Speaker 1: a while. Okay, ever it seems like an expensive door.
- 29:21Speaker 1: I will say this, Well, i'll tell you my door story.
- 29:23Speaker 2: Later, okaymm I because he went a home depot with them,
- 29:30Speaker 2: it would lead me to believe that he and he
- 29:33Speaker 2: admits it, that he had some uh plan, some sort
- 29:38Speaker 2: of plan to buy a door and then backed out
- 29:41Speaker 2: on that plan.
- 29:43Speaker 1: I'm going to give them the money. Matthis says, how
- 29:49Speaker 1: their story keep changing, and Bruce says, well, they wanted
- 29:52Speaker 1: it installed in all that, Oh, and matthis went, So
- 29:56Speaker 1: your defense is I wasn't there and I was cool
- 30:00Speaker 1: placing the door, but they want me to pay for
- 30:02Speaker 1: putting it up. And Bruce just kind of smiles and trucks. Now,
- 30:07Speaker 1: I bought a door and put it on my back porch.
- 30:10Speaker 1: I like to do projects around the house. I would
- 30:12Speaker 1: never do install a door that wasn't previously installed. Ever. Again,
- 30:18Speaker 1: it's just not worth it. I would pay someone in
- 30:20Speaker 1: the hassle. I think most of the cost is not
- 30:23Speaker 1: the door, it is the install installation of the door
- 30:27Speaker 1: Matthis says you agreed, you told him you'd pay for it.
- 30:30Speaker 1: You're paying for it and go three bucks you get.
- 30:32Speaker 1: Oh there you go, gabble and it's like it's like
- 30:36Speaker 1: the start of Stranger Things, but way but different. Different.
