Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_05]: You don't need a lot of followers to succeed, but the algorithm that we remember years ago was like we wanted more followers because more followers meant more people would be seeing our stuff That's not the case anymore.
- 0:09[SPEAKER_05]: The story we tell ourselves is that it has to be perfect.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_05]: It has to look good We have to look fly everything has to be fresh and it's not a lot of times what does the best is when you just show up as yourself My personal brand is me.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_05]: I can show up.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_05]: You got to show up until you blow up
- 0:22[SPEAKER_02]: When people like you said can connect with you on something else, but they know what you do, they'll work with you because of the connection.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_05]: All in social media, I am trying to build trust of people by taking an action.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_05]: You have to empower some people to make a decision for themselves so that they look at you and say, you were the kind of who got me to where I want to go.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_05]: Launch my very first course in 2015.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_05]: and we did seven figures in a year off a hundred and ninety seven dollar course.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_05]: DM is going to be the future of sales.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_05]: Hands down that is going to be the hill that I'm going to die on and a lot of people don't want to hear it, but it is just fat.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_02]: Anyone could do this today.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_05]: Absolutely.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_02]: Can you share things just that haven't changed despite AI, despite algorithm changes?
- 1:01[SPEAKER_02]: Like what hasn't changed?
- 1:04[SPEAKER_05]: I'd break it down in four or five steps.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome to the department.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_02]: It's almost a quarry, and I'm so honored and excited to have someone I've wanted on this since I started it, and you know this, probably, because I reached out.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_02]: But people ask, oh, more, how do you get guests on the podcast?
- 1:25[SPEAKER_02]: I just plant seeds, just ask, and then one day, something can happen, and so I'm so honored to have the Jasmine star.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_02]: Come on, let's give it up for Jasmine star.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_06]: Thank you, Ryan.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_02]: I'd be lying if I didn't say I'm fangirling.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_02]: It was just cool that you've created this effect, and I've been able to do this as well, but whereas as a CEO, you've been able to create an audience that thinks you in public, that sees you in such high regard, which is now it's a super popular thing to do, build a personal brand.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_02]: But how did you even know this was how you needed to show up when you first started posting content online?
- 2:12[SPEAKER_05]: well the truth is I didn't and the truth was I didn't have anything so when you don't have anything you take whatever's in front of you and at the time it was a phone.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_05]: at the time, it was a blog.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_05]: And so I think that I was afforded the luxury of having nothing and trying to make something because when you have a lot of options, you're going to choose the one that hurts the least, that's the least vulnerable.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_05]: And then you get to yourself and you find a place where if you have nothing to lose, you play like you have nothing to lose.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_05]: And when you go that hard in a direction that most people don't, you can't help but stand out just
- 2:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so good.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_02]: So you came in, which is what I would let's just call it the blog era where writing blogs about things that we're going on in your life, just as you were making how long ago was that.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_05]: So I have my first blog post in 2007, which is the same year that I decided to become a photographer and I didn't own a camera.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_05]: So, like, no, it's a true story.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_05]: But that kind of becomes like literally the template that I have copied every single time my personal brand has taken a shift.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_05]: So, became a photographer without owning a camera in 2007.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_05]: I began creating content and other companies would come to me and say, can we have our stuff featured on your site?
- 3:29[SPEAKER_05]: So I became a content creator before I even knew what a content creator was.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_05]: And then I decided, I don't want to do this anymore.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_05]: So those same companies said, well, can you advise our team members to do what it is you're doing?
- 3:38[SPEAKER_05]: And they're like, do you consult?
- 3:39[SPEAKER_05]: I went to Google and I was like, what is a consultant?
- 3:42[SPEAKER_05]: And I were like, what is a consultant charge?
- 3:44[SPEAKER_05]: And then I said, well, this is my consulting fees because that's what I learned from Google.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_05]: We'll call them and they're like, yes.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_05]: and I got paid to tell other marketing teams what to do and I was like this is crazy and it did that for two years and then in 2015 I saw a whole landscape of small business owners who really needed depth of education and so launched my very first course in 2015 and we did seven figures in a year of $197 course.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_05]: Then two years later, started a membership.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_05]: I had no idea what a membership was.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_05]: Got into the membership game.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_05]: And then in 2021, decided, oh, I don't know a line of code, we're gonna start a SaaS company to fulfill on the back end.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_05]: So every single time, it was been as crazy as I don't have a camera to, I don't know, a line of code.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_05]: It's, you, you gotta show up until you blow up.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_05]: And when you have nothing in front of you, you are willing to do whatever it takes.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_05]: And so people are like, so pontificate about the personal brand I was like, Lizyn, my personal brand is me.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_05]: I can control it, I can show up, and I'm like a cockroach, you can't kill me.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_05]: I'm just going to be around here, I'm going to keep on creating, and for everybody who says all these nasty things about me like it's okay, but you're not going to stop me.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_05]: And so I want to be real, I want to be real with you is if you have options, you're really blessed, but it also might be the thing that's stopping you from showing up.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_02]: Wow, when options are an obstacle.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_05]: Hmm.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, that's pretty easy.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_02]: I know, I just, the, the, the literature.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_10]: This is my brain.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_07]: You do the mail.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_10]: Yeah.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_10]: Uh, it's literally, I'm working the pros production and the pre-production.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, no, okay, so you've been in the, we'll call it the online game for a very long time.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, can you share things just that haven't changed despite AI, despite algorithm changes?
- 5:30[SPEAKER_02]: Like, what hasn't changed?
- 5:32[SPEAKER_05]: cringe, that has, that has not changed.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_05]: Is volitionally stepping into something that makes me really uncomfortable.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_05]: I think that there is this misnomer that people think I like creating or that I like social media and that couldn't be for this from the truth.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_02]: That's crazy.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_02]: I look at the aesthetic of your home and I'm like she loves a static social media Instagram.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_05]: Well, I do, well, two separate things, aesthetics.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_05]: Yes, creating content posting, totally different than the answer's no.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_02]: That's so good that you're saying this, thank you.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_05]: But I'll do things that other people won't to get a result that other people don't.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_05]: And I just want to say that, again, and again, is like the game is not easier or harder for other people.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_05]: It's just the game is to be willing to say, how many times am I going to do it this week?
- 6:19[SPEAKER_05]: and then you do it.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_05]: And how many times I'm going to do it next week?
- 6:22[SPEAKER_05]: And then you do it.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_05]: That's the game.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, department fan, question for you.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_02]: Based on you listening to this podcast, you probably are either looking to grow your personal brand this year, build your audience online and just stop chasing business and start to have business chasing you.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_02]: If that's you, I want to invite you to the content to cash challenge.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_02]: This is a five day coaching experience, a live coaching experience with myself that's done all on Zoom and you get access to a private community and it really is unlike any other experience that I offer.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_02]: By the end of the challenge, you'll have unreal clarity on what you're supposed to do online and you'll have the insight on how you can make an extra six or even seven figures.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I said seven figures in your business this year.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_02]: And if any of those things sound great to you, I want you to join the next content to cast challenge.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_02]: Scan the QR code if you're watching on a television or click the link in the description.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_02]: Once you go through it, go ahead and upgrade to VIP because you'll get an extra hour of bonus VIP Q&A with me every single day of the challenge.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_02]: and so looking forward to seeing you there.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_02]: Let's get back into the combo.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, let's jump straight into it.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_02]: I like to think of my conversations as course conversations that if this hypothetically was a course that we would cover the who-what-where-when-why's of something.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, good.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_02]: And so, I think this is a mixture of me, you unpacking if you lost it on start and wanted to start an online business from scratch.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_02]: No audience.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_02]: No offer, no marketing, no sales, but experience, expertise, a desire to serve, what would be that process of you starting an online business today?
- 8:08[SPEAKER_05]: I'd break it down in four or five steps.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_05]: I wish I could come out and say definitively, okay, I wanna say five.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_05]: I like the number five and we're gonna go with it.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_05]: Because the fifth one, I debate sharing this with you because it immediately turned them off, so I'm gonna save it till the end.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_05]: I'm gonna get your buy-in.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_05]: So first things first.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_05]: is I would a hundred percent go crazy on social media.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_05]: Hands down, period the end, it is just getting started.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_05]: There's never been a better time than yesterday and the second better time is today that the story we tell ourselves is that it has to be perfect, it has to look good, we have to look fly, everything has to be fresh and it's not.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_05]: A lot of times what does the best is when you just show up as yourself.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_05]: So first and foremost, I'm going to make the commitment to be consistent.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_05]: I don't care what your level of consistency is, but whatever you pick, you gotta stick with it.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_05]: Because the person you have to honor first is yourself.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_05]: We're gonna walk in integrity.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_05]: Integrity is doing what you say you're going to do so you prove to yourself, come rain or shine, you're going to do it.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_05]: And once you make that commitment to consistency and you decide which platform you're gonna be tempted.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_05]: I'm talking to myself, right?
- 9:10[SPEAKER_02]: Like if I'm like that, I'd love to know like your platform of preference.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_05]: Well, I'm going to pick my platform depending on who I'm selling to.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_05]: And so if I go back to who, if right now I have nothing and I'm starting to scratch, I'm going to choose Instagram because that's where my dream customer is.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_05]: in my dream customer was going to be a female and she has aspirations and she's driven and she doesn't really know exactly where to start.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_05]: But I have always maintained and I didn't actually say this publicly until this year.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_05]: It felt very self-serving for me to say it, but I said wait, wait, wait, wait.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_05]: I shouldn't be embarrassed for what I know my truth is.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_05]: I believe that I've been put on this earth because I'm a container of belief.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_05]: is that people will look and say, I believe in myself because she is not the most polished or the most qualified.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_05]: She's unfunded, unconnected, uneducated, and yet she's doing it.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_05]: So if there's somebody out there who has less and can do more, what does that say about me?
- 10:03[SPEAKER_05]: And so people walk away feeling that they can believe in themselves.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_05]: And so if my my tenant, my God-given purpose is to make somebody believe that what they have been called to, because you don't get a dream, you don't get a desire inside of you if you didn't have the capacity
- 10:16[SPEAKER_05]: I don't believe that.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_05]: I do not believe it whatsoever.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_05]: So if you have a dream of owning a car wash, if you have a dream of being an internet personality, if you have a dream of being a golf pro, you wouldn't have that dream unless you had the capacity to put it out into the world.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_05]: I did not have the dream of being an MBA star.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_05]: It isn't crossed my mind.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_05]: I love basketball.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_05]: I don't think I want to be a star.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_05]: But an idea that comes into me in my business.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_05]: in my knowing.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_05]: I have to say it was given to me divinely.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_05]: And then it's my job to store it and separate it.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_05]: If I don't execute on it, who am I disappointing?
- 10:49[SPEAKER_05]: God.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_05]: myself, my family, and I just thought to myself, when my mom was 50 years old, she was diagnosed, excuse me, she was diagnosed when she was, like, 44 with brain cancer and cancer of the central nervous system.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_05]: And when she was 50, I was in law school and she had a relapse.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_05]: And I was 25 years old and she was 50 and I had a midlife crisis.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_05]: And I was like, what am I doing with my life?
- 11:13[SPEAKER_05]: What is going on?
- 11:15[SPEAKER_05]: And it was then when I saw my mom in the hospital bed that she was talking
- 11:21[SPEAKER_05]: And I thought to myself, I don't want to die wishing we're having the regret.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_05]: And that was the last time I stopped playing by somebody else's rules.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_05]: And just started saying, I have nothing, but can I create something?
- 11:34[SPEAKER_05]: So first step would be consistency.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_05]: The mode I chose was a blog post.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_05]: I was like, I can write a blog every day.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_05]: That's what I did.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_05]: I didn't have much to write about, but it forces you to be creative.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_05]: Lack forces ingenuity and ingenuity gets attention.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_05]: I didn't know that then, but that's what I did.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_05]: So first step to starting all over again would be, how consistent am I going to be?
- 11:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I love that you just said, I want, you know, I always encourage people to write down what you thought of as a result of what you heard, not just what you heard, because a lot of us will write down be consistent.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_02]: But something you said was, find your way to be able to, like, if you were to leave this room or leave this podcast and do something to show up, like I like how you said it, go crazy on social media.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_02]: I like that.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_02]: what just remove the obstacles and just do it.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_02]: You know, the car is such a great studio.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, they pop off.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_05]: You don't know why, but they do.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_05]: Like it's crazy.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_05]: The get ready with me's got a lot of guys don't do it, and they should.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_05]: Because the least amount of people who are doing something that's already been proven is a great way to get attention.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_05]: Like last Sunday, you said like an A or B option with like, what shoe am I going to wear to church?
- 12:50[SPEAKER_05]: That's right.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_05]: We do this.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_05]: Tennis shoe would do the loafers.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_05]: That's right.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_05]: It's like that stuff gets attention because we care about the minutia.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_05]: We care about the human.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_05]: And so if somebody later that day saw him and he ended up wearing the loafer, they're like, oh yeah, good choice man, good choice when other people be like, I like the other shoe.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_05]: That's okay.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_05]: Haven't opinion.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_05]: Everyone's going to have one.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_05]: When you involve people in it, it really does help build that personal brand.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_05]: When they feel like they're about you, they become for you.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_02]: So good, come home.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry, it's churchy.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_02]: It is.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_05]: It's about church.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_05]: My guess I have ever been on.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_02]: No, even just my come on.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_02]: Come on.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_02]: The number one question I usually get asked by people like you is Omar.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_02]: How the heck does your videos look and sounds so dang crispy?
- 13:33[SPEAKER_02]: Well, the reality is it's the equipment I use and you'd be surprised how inexpensive it could actually be.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_02]: So I've compiled all my gear and I've updated the list and I wanna give it to you.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_02]: So if you're listening or watching this, just hit the description box below and I'll send you my gear guide for every budget.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_02]: Now let's get back into the conversation.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_02]: The sum guy responded to that by the way.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_02]: He said, I screenshot he said, the Lord isn't concerned with your outfit.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_02]: I said, cool, going naked.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_02]: And then Justin Bieber that night is like in boxers and socks on the Grammy that's like bro, we about that life.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, that was step one.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_02]: Go crazy on social media.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_02]: Be consistent.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_02]: We're building our online business from scratch.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_05]: Number two, number two, would be to be intentional with how you are marketing.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_05]: Now this is for somebody who has an idea about what it is that they want to sell.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_05]: And listen, the first idea might not be your end all the idea, but it's an idea to get your feet on the ground.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_05]: So you want to be intentional.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_05]: social media is all about interest-based not social.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_05]: So the algorithm that we remember years ago was like we wanted more followers because more followers meant more people would be seeing our stuff.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_05]: That's not the case anymore.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_05]: It is truly how people are interacting on interest-based.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_05]: So you and I
- 14:46[SPEAKER_05]: in you can be found the same hundred people.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_05]: We follow the same identical people and every time we open our algorithm, we're not going to see the same thing because based on other things that we've interacted with.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_05]: So it's going to be very important that our interests point back to what our business is.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_05]: So I'm going to give an example of this.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_05]: So recently, I've, you know, I was like every basic girl, every great January fifth.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_05]: New year, New Me.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_05]: Like, 20, 26, I'm like, this is my year, but I did it.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_05]: So I hired an online coach, a hired an online trainer.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_05]: I'm doing my macros, I'm doing meal planning because I've counted the cost to get the thing that I've wanted.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_05]: And so I would say on the stages and talk to people about their business, right?
- 15:23[SPEAKER_05]: Like, you gotta do things, other people won't do to get results.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_05]: And all of a sudden I said, you know what?
- 15:26[SPEAKER_05]: I actually do like.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_05]: eating and sipping more than the average person if I want to change what do I need to do change and so what I decided to do is to bring people in on the journey because one of the interest buckets on meta you have parenting you have finance you have relationships you have beauty you have fitness and I was like well let me see how this might do so I made a protein smoothie 81 grams of protein and I knew that with a good hook a video I would be like
- 15:52[SPEAKER_05]: Can I get 81 grams protein in a smoothie?
- 15:54[SPEAKER_05]: And immediately, people are like, no.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_05]: And so then what I did is it just did a time lapse of me making a smoothie.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_05]: Like the entire video was 21 seconds.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_05]: And in the caption, I talked about how I'm getting a smoothie.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_05]: I'm changing the way I'm eating because my mind and body need to be working in connection for the type of business that I'm building.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_07]: Hey.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_05]: So what we're trying to do now is to get interest and merge with what you're about.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_05]: So when we're intentional about making sure that there is a mix between the two, it allows us to go into new markets that would otherwise not be paying attention to us.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_05]: Because sometimes there's three level of customers.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_05]: Number one, I know I have a problem and I'm actively looking for a solution.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_05]: Number two, I know I have a problem and I'm not sure what the solution is.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_05]: And number three, I don't know I don't have a problem and I'm not looking for a solution.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_05]: We're not ever really talking to that third person.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_05]: But there is a large group of people who know that they have a problem and they don't know who solves it.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_05]: They might not know that they're going to be looking for a crazy Latina who's going to help them build a digital business.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_05]: But they might be like, oh, I'm going to get my proteins moving in.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_05]: They come across my profile and what do they get?
- 16:53[SPEAKER_05]: They get to an optimized bio.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_05]: But I want to slow down real quick.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_05]: step one consistency.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_05]: Step number two is intention and we'll be doing that with interest-based no longer social.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_05]: I want you to have a lot of followers.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_05]: I really do.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_05]: You don't need a lot of followers to succeed.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_05]: And when we're emerging our interest with what we do professionally, we're going to get new attention.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_05]: Want to pause there, are we good?
- 17:13[SPEAKER_02]: so good.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_02]: I would say learn the art of communicating two things at once.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_02]: And sometimes you don't have to say two things.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_02]: You just do one thing and say something else.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_02]: This is why I love filming ads on the golf course.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_02]: Because I write off mom golf membership, but when people like you say it can connect with you on something else, but they know what you do, they'll work with you because
- 17:46[SPEAKER_02]: of the connection, not necessarily just because of what you do.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_02]: And I think about this in real estate, like you become one of three options when you go into the market, like if you're trying to sell or buy a home, you're thinking about three people.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_02]: The person you're doing business with is the person you like the most.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_05]: Absolutely.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_02]: and so creating likeability online is what you're talking about and there's just so much power in creating content in a way which is like it just requires you to not overthink so much it's like just make it where you are make it how you're dressed make it where you live make it where you're at you know and it communicates two things at once.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_05]: absolutely and then at the same time we can not our head and be like oh yeah creates like ability like a billion right that my notes also add to your notes unlike ability a unlike ability by you putting yourself out there good chance 50% are gonna hate it they're just not going to like it so i want all of us to count the cost like for every person who's about you they will be three who are not but i guarantee you anybody who has the nerve to say something about you online about what it is you're doing they're not doing better than you
- 18:48[SPEAKER_05]: Not better, not better, you are not doing better.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_05]: So if you ain't doing better, I ain't got to listen.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_05]: And are you living the type of life that I want?
- 18:58[SPEAKER_05]: If you are not living the type of life I want, why would I listen to your opinion?
- 19:01[SPEAKER_05]: I'm going to be having people pour in to me who are three, 10, 100 steps ahead.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_05]: to help they become waymakers, so I become a waymaker.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_05]: And all of us will leave the doors open for the people behind us and expand the tables and add chairs to it.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_05]: And we've done the thing that we've been here to do.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_05]: But you can do that until you have accepted that you will be unliked as much as you will be liked.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_02]: beautiful.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_02]: Consistency.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_05]: Interface.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, yes, intentionality, the marginality with our interest base versus just marketing, like, staunchly on what it is we do.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_02]: Are you frustrated at the whole algorithm change?
- 19:34[SPEAKER_02]: Like, from the standpoint of like, yeah, then number, the follow our numbers, the subscriber numbers, they don't they don't grow the same.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_05]: But it's like, going to Vegas buffet and being like, I just don't like the flavor profile.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_05]: It's like,
- 19:45[SPEAKER_05]: And then I got calmed, right?
- 19:47[SPEAKER_05]: I go into a calmed buffet and then I complain, like, I feel too salty.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_05]: I didn't pay anything for it.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_05]: If I don't want to eat it, I could take my place somewhere else, but I'm not going to because it's free food.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_05]: And there's a lot of it.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_05]: So thank you.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_05]: I'm like, no, just no.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_02]: I'm taking that as a correctional moment.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_05]: You can listen, listen, it's a beast, right?
- 20:07[SPEAKER_05]: So I always look at social marketing as fire.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_05]: Fire is good because it keeps us warm and fire is good because it keeps us fed.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_05]: If left unchecked, it can burn us to the very core.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_05]: So I just always want to stay on the outside of the perimeter.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_05]: Use what is good for it and then leave the rest that is not behind.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_05]: But at the same time, if I am not paying to market myself on my business.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_05]: I mean now you get paid like you do that right right so no I don't and here's the thing we've seen too much in the past we've been a part of the generation that has seen things like my space and friends are going to the dust because they didn't change like their job is to keep us confused and lost.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_05]: that is just really it like they're like what do we do next what we do next what we do next it's like that's what keeps us addicted and interested now do I hate saying that out loud and at the same time advocating to build a business that way a hundred percent but when you know the person you're dancing with you know how not to get your toast up on so we're just me like okay this is this is how we're going to tangle but I'm also going to keep a distance to
- 21:06[SPEAKER_02]: So, again, fire.
- 21:08[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, step by three.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_05]: Let's go into the third thing.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_05]: The third thing is how strategic are we gonna be with our pinned post?
- 21:16[SPEAKER_05]: So many platforms will allow you to pin one to three posts.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_05]: And I wanna make sure that I'm going to give somebody for free an action that they could take because right now there is a recession of trust online.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_05]: So here's a little bit of backstory.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_05]: In 2020, the world goes up in flames, and we are afraid.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_05]: A lot of digital creators are afraid of what will happen with this.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_05]: And so what happens is many of us think that the business isn't going to go down, but at the same time, every has these tiny checks, they start investing in online education in ways that we've never seen before.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_05]: So we see this massive climb in 2020 and 2021.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_05]: Well, the people who bought the courses in 2021, then went and said, we know what, I could do this too.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_05]: They start creating their courses, some of which did well, some of which,
- 21:56[SPEAKER_05]: fell on their face, couldn't perform, didn't complete or fulfill on what they got paid for.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_05]: So, 2023, 2024, a whole mass is stress recession because someone's like, I've been burned.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_05]: So, if you're trying to sell to somebody who's burned on the internet before you have a really hard time getting them into your offer,
- 22:13[SPEAKER_05]: So what we see now is a bunch of people who say, I'm not sure I trust you.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_05]: You can burn me the way that other people have before.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_05]: So now I look at my pin post as my trust currency.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_05]: There's a little piggy bank.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_05]: So the first one I'm going to give an action that I can send via DM that they can take immediately.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_05]: a quick win is a huge win because when I give advice like if stay consistent okay that's one thing but if I say stay consistent and you go home and write the three posts that you're going to post every single week for the next week and then you do it and you get a result you're not going to think about me as much as you say I trust her because I did what you said and I got a result great so all in social media I am trying to build trusted people by taking an action.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_05]: Like, I don't believe anybody is so cute, so smart, so captivating.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_05]: You have to empower somebody to make a decision for themselves so that they look at you and say, you were the conduit who got me to where I want to go.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_05]: So my pin post are going to be really focused on that.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_05]: So the first one is going to be like, what is a quick win that they can go in and take action.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_05]: So like, I like three to five steps.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_05]: So what I'll do is instead of making them like go into it like an opt-in.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_05]: I really want to start driving DMs That's gonna be a different side of the strategy strategy, but I'm like Drop the word in the comment and I will it you can or cannot use many chat.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_05]: It's totally up to you There's a lot of things that I don't use meant many chat for and then you'll send them the five steps and you're like do this And when you're complete hit me up.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_05]: I want to root for you
- 23:28[SPEAKER_05]: What are we doing?
- 23:29[SPEAKER_05]: We're creating that synergy between connecting with people via DM.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_05]: DM is going to be the future of sales.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_05]: Hands down.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_05]: That is going to be the hill that I'm going to die on.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_05]: And a lot of people don't want to hear it, but it is just facts, conversions happen by way of conversation.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_05]: The second post that I'm really having.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_02]: But the whole me was right.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_02]: It goes down in the DMs.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_05]: it does go down in the air.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_05]: It does.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_05]: It does.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_05]: It does.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_05]: It does.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_05]: It does.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_05]: The second post is going to be a little bit more long form.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_05]: This is where I'm going to ask for them to drop their email address because I'm going to send them like something really detailed.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_05]: So what currently sits on my on my Instagram account right now, the first one is going to be the five steps to money mindset.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, into that.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_05]: The second thing is I'm going to invite them to a free no-pitch millionaire mindset class.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_05]: What am I really doing with everything?
- 24:14[SPEAKER_05]: I really want to change somebody's mindset before ever thinking or considering to invest.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_05]: What am I doing?
- 24:19[SPEAKER_05]: I'm building trust and currency and I'm not pitching in any of it.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_05]: The third pin post is what we call the pop post.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_05]: Problem, opportunity, and then we're going to make them an offer.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_05]: Hold on, the last P because that's poo, P-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-
- 24:45[SPEAKER_05]: what is the opportunity and then I'm going to go in and I'm going to make an offer and currently right now I have a sales team and it's just like DMS this word.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_05]: Let's start a conversation and because we've probably been DMing in the past, it seems natural organic.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_05]: We'll send them a video sales letter, get them on a call with a sales team, but it's trust, trust, trust, trust.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_02]: Anyone could do this today.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_05]: Absolutely.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_02]: That's a good place to clap.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_02]: That was just really, that was just go to it.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_02]: Come on.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_02]: I love that you brought that up because I mean, this happened on a coach called today.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_02]: And I was looking at somebody's Instagram profile and she's like, I just want to, I want it to look this way.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_02]: Like the aesthetic thing.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, think about the person and their journey with it being interest based, somebody might find your stuff.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_02]: In this case, she helps churches and worship leaders kind of like,
- 25:40[SPEAKER_02]: lead well and create systems it's like the whole thing which is it was really cool what she does by my like when people come they're not gonna like the person that's impressed with your aesthetic
- 25:50[SPEAKER_02]: It's like so what, but I think what used to be aesthetics is now pin posts and something I just want to bring up and validate what you said was I had a post that I made that really just fell down because I didn't pin it, but it was me sharing that I got a new award for my inner circle people and that kept that about 12,000 views that carousel and it was photos
- 26:17[SPEAKER_02]: seven months ago, it just passed a hundred thousand views.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_02]: And this is a post that just shows that Omar helps people get results.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_02]: And when I think about the architecting of what's happening in a person's mind, strategically pinning posts is a great way to do it.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_02]: And so thanks for that game.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_02]: That was crazy work.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_05]: Thank you.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_02]: What have you learned with DM conversations,
- 26:43[SPEAKER_05]: That would be point four.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_05]: That would be point four.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_05]: And what we really don't want to get caught up in is like, oh, there's got to be a strategy or a flow or a funnel.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_05]: I always think of this as social media is like a cocktail party.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_05]: And some people here are like, I'm just, I hate cocktail parties.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_05]: Fine.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_05]: It's social media farmers market, social media mall, social media Main Street USA, whatever it is.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_05]: So I want you to think about where you see yourself building a business, imagine yourself at a cocktail party, the Main Street USA, and sure there are going to be people there, but they don't know that your story exists.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_05]: They don't know that the solution to their problem is there.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_05]: If I was at a farmer's market and I sold soap at a stall in the corner, that's just where this stall happened to be.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_05]: Do you think I'm going to stay there and just be like, hmm, my soap is so good, it's just going to call people in.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_05]: And yet that's what digital,
- 27:35[SPEAKER_05]: that's what digital business owners do like the offers there.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_05]: I'm just going to hope that it works.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_05]: That's anything but the case.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_05]: We have to take our content to people because here again, sometimes they don't even know that the offer is there.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_05]: Sometimes they follow us, but they really don't even know what it is that we sell.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_05]: So with our job to start conversations, not a sales pitch.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_05]: When I say that conversation leads to conversion, it's true, but it always starts with the conversation.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_05]: And so people are like, yeah, but what do I say?
- 28:01[SPEAKER_05]: And then like, okay, if we were at a cocktail party and you would just walked in and I happen to walk up right next to you, what are you saying to me?
- 28:09[SPEAKER_05]: What are you gonna say to me?
- 28:10[SPEAKER_05]: We just end up like, where are the farmers market?
- 28:12[SPEAKER_05]: And you're right outside your stall and I come up right next to you.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_05]: What are you gonna say?
- 28:15[SPEAKER_02]: If you're wearing that, I'm like, to fit.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_02]: What's crazy?
- 28:18[SPEAKER_05]: Well, thank you.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_05]: Thank you.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, that's good.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_05]: I'd like you're all fit too.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_05]: Thank you.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_05]: Great.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_05]: It's like, hey, fit.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_05]: Hey, dumb, what was your name?
- 28:28[SPEAKER_05]: Omar, Jasmine.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_05]: What'd you do this week?
- 28:30[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, I just got back from vacation.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_05]: Really, that's awesome, little bit.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, Jasmine, I noticed that you have a shop down the street.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_05]: I passed by the stop and I noticed you had some flower and they were like, yeah, that was great.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_05]: What do you do for a business?
- 28:44[SPEAKER_05]: This is literally what we're doing into the amps.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_05]: And people, I don't have time for that.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_05]: And then I would probably count her in sale and say, maybe you don't have enough time to get the sales that you actually want.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_05]: We have to have real human to human interactions because people when they buy something digital really do think that they, that I see people as a dollar sign.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_05]: I see people as a transformational bucket of the impossible.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_05]: But in order for somebody to see that, they have to trust that I see them that way and that I can help them fill it so that they do fulfill their end up impossibility that turns into a possibility.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_05]: But that doesn't happen by me saying, so I have this thing online.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_05]: It's like a forced process, like never in a million years.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_05]: It's the conversation to show that you care, to show and understand, oh, I understand your problem now.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_05]: This is how I would frame the solution.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_05]: That's where it goes down.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_02]: That's beautiful.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_02]: And I know you're now at a level.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_02]: We're talking about like starting from zero.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_02]: Currently, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you
- 29:40[SPEAKER_02]: One can have the argument of like I'm a CEO and I don't have time to be having these conversations.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_02]: How have you scaled your ability to still have it?
- 29:51[SPEAKER_02]: How much of your Instagram do you run as a multiple semifigure entrepreneur?
- 29:56[SPEAKER_02]: And how have you trusted other people to be in there if that's where you're at?
- 30:00[SPEAKER_05]: So, okay, I'm going to answer this first and foremost as CEO of an eight-figure brand, and then thank you.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_05]: Well, you know, here's the thing, there's not a lot of brown girls, there's not a lot of there's not, it's a flex, it is a flex, thank you because there's not enough black and brown people who actually stand up and show what is possible because I'm a statistic unlikely hood, and I don't say this to be like I matter or it matters, I actually don't believe there's a lot of people with a lot of commas and zeroes behind
- 30:26[SPEAKER_05]: their name, the act like they matter, it's not.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_05]: I simply say it because it took a very long time to get here.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_05]: And other people have to see what is possible on the back of somebody who has nothing and that can do something.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_05]: That was only where it came from.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_05]: Come on.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_05]: Thank you.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_05]: But I know exactly who I am, but I know exactly I got to where I got, simply because I did and quit and then Scott has a calling on my life.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_05]: But I believe that Scott has a calling on everybody's life.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_05]: It's just like, how big do you want to play?
- 30:47[SPEAKER_05]: Because it's like, you want to tempt God and be like, God, use me.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_05]: And then you like, but not that way.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_05]: You know, so no, no.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_05]: So, um,
- 30:55[SPEAKER_05]: Where do we go?
- 30:56[SPEAKER_05]: Where do we go?
- 30:57[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, okay, so I answer this two ways.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_05]: I'm answering two ways.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_05]: I believe that is a CEO
- 31:01[SPEAKER_05]: People spend tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands on research and development.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_05]: And what I am doing as a CEO is I'm in the DMs because I'm like, where's market going?
- 31:09[SPEAKER_05]: What do they want?
- 31:10[SPEAKER_05]: Where's the pressure point?
- 31:11[SPEAKER_05]: How could we ever create for people we want to serve by being so far removed from who we're serving?
- 31:16[SPEAKER_05]: And not everybody feels that way.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_05]: And that's actually, this is just like my opinion.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_05]: I don't believe that if you have a different skill set, if you're really numbers driven, if you're really creative visionary, and that's where you go, I'm a patternseer.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_05]: I'm a problem solver, I'm a human believer, and I'm like, what's stopping you from believing?
- 31:32[SPEAKER_05]: How do we get rid of that?
- 31:32[SPEAKER_05]: But the only way that I know that is when I'm in my DMs and prior to us, we created a new offer and I got a hundred of calls.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_05]: I was paying people in $25 gift cards to get on a 25-minute call and I'm asking the same questions and I get all of their answers and I'm going from like, what's stopping people from getting to where they want to go?
- 31:50[SPEAKER_05]: And like the thing we heard again and again, because I didn't go in saying, I have an offer, and I want to see who it's for, and I'm like, what's the market missing right now?
- 31:57[SPEAKER_05]: Like, where's the, where's the white space?
- 31:59[SPEAKER_05]: So I started asking, and the thing that, like, for years it hit me in the face, and I was like, no, bro, no, that's not where, no, bro, that's not me, no, again and again, what we asked, what would be the number that would change your life and allow you to live differently?
- 32:21[SPEAKER_05]: And I was like, huh, what's stopping you from building $10,000 a month?
- 32:29[SPEAKER_05]: And we got all of this information.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_05]: We got all this data.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_05]: I know, I know what I can, I easy.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_05]: One, two, three.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_05]: Let's go.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_05]: We can get you 10, came on.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_05]: It's like, how bad do you want it?
- 32:37[SPEAKER_05]: That's how quick we're going to get there.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_05]: How willing are you to, well, how willing are you to do the work?
- 32:40[SPEAKER_05]: That's how quickly we're going to get there.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_05]: But in order for you to do the work, in order for you to believe that you can actually have that.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_05]: That's an inside job.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_05]: So a lot of the front and messaging had to be him.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_05]: Who do you have to believe and what do you have to do and who do you have to become in order to get the result that you want?
- 32:55[SPEAKER_05]: and that's where the work began and that's where we started building up the foundation of the program of the marketing but how did we know that by being in the DMs and so for me yes I'm in it because it's ROI positive all day every day.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_05]: Now, if I was starting, and I didn't have a following, I would still be doing the same thing.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_05]: You just gotta be human.
- 33:17[SPEAKER_05]: You wanna be the person, like Main Street USA, like you're sweeping the front of your shop.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_05]: There it goes, Jasmine.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_05]: You wanna be in the mall, and you want to be passing out, like, you know, free samples of the chocolate.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_05]: There it goes, Jasmine.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_05]: You wanna be at the cocktail party, the person who grabs like the cocktail train and be like, you're moving too slow here.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_05]: Here you go, here you go.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_05]: like the Latina, and every party's like, eat some more.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_05]: It's a more, it's a more, like be that person on the internet and people will begin to trust that you see them.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_05]: And the minute you see them, they're going to trust that your solution, even though you have a thousand competitors in a very saturated marketplace, that you're going to be their solution.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_05]: And that's only for seeing them and being human.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, good.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_02]: Conversations.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_02]: It's a crazy perpetual cycle that when you are okay with just not I mean when when you put yourself in a position to listen which is like a sales principle is like listen to them.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_02]: and how it informs the offer or how it informs future content.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_02]: Because the thing, like, you could have probably assumed, we could all assume maybe everyone wants to build a million dollar business.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_05]: Absolutely.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_02]: But the way they're saying it is, no, I want to have my first 10k month.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_02]: And so now I, now my, everything else is influenced just by the conversations.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_02]: And so I think there's a really good tip in that to just put yourself in a position to just have more conversations and listen, Linda.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_05]: one of the things, I can't put it on a post-it note, get curious, is just ask why, and then ask why again, and then ask why again, and it just became so informative of the process, and the worth of kept on coming up, and there's like, it's just the consistency that I want, it's just a consistency that I want, and it's just a 10K, and what did we name our program, the consistent 10K?
- 35:01[SPEAKER_05]: We literally got the words and serve them up so that I say, I know you, I see you, I know what's standing in your way.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_05]: We've done it too many times before.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_05]: We have success stories, are you gonna be one of them?
- 35:11[SPEAKER_05]: Because the only reason you're not gonna be a success story because we have an ROI guarantee is if you don't do the work.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_05]: Are you ready to do the work?
- 35:18[SPEAKER_02]: So again, your boss has Ricky Rose would say, okay, five.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_02]: Five.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_05]: Now this is where the gangsters dwell.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_05]: I know.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_05]: Go live.
- 35:31[SPEAKER_05]: Go live, go live.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_05]: What we see happening on TikTok shop is QVC happening on TikTok.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_05]: And people can say whatever they want about TikTok.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_05]: I'm not here to talk about TikTok, I'm not, it is what it is.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_05]: I prefer to go where I believe the strongest customers are, and for my offer, my business is going to be Instagram, and secondly, Facebook.
- 35:54[SPEAKER_05]: What we see is a growing demand of people who want real, and they're tired of the perfect
- 36:04[SPEAKER_05]: live, you don't have the ability to cut on the in-between, or use like what does it clive you to speed up how you're faster talking, or add the other graphics.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_05]: It's like you want to be good, show up naked.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_05]: That's what Instagram live is.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_05]: It's just like how good are you at thinking, how good are you a communicating, how good are you stating the promise, the desire, the outcome, the transformation, and the simple ways to get there.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_05]: You start mastering that, people are like.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_05]: this person don't mess and that to me is the greatest, greatest jump between yourself and your competitors is when you could do that again and again and again and people like yeah but it's so embarrassing there's only seven people there I would get on a sales call for seven people are you kidding me?
- 36:42[SPEAKER_05]: are you kidding me like what world are we dwelling in and then for the more if you want to put that live on your feed more than seven people are going to see it right so it's just like how willing am I to get over myself and my insecurities to get to where I want to go real real love like I'll jump all like long jump to get over myself that's good do you have a live stream framework um i i do i was pretty ghetto fab with this is the real real um i have a post at note
- 37:09[SPEAKER_05]: and it's hard looking at yourself on camera.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_05]: It's one thing, it's like, I can look at this camera and I'm not seeing myself in it.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_05]: When you're in the selfie mode, it's for me, it's just intimidating.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_05]: I'm like, why did your face do that?
- 37:20[SPEAKER_05]: Why is your eyes are, why is your eye an equal?
- 37:22[SPEAKER_05]: Like, oh, your eye liners, just girl.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_05]: So what I found to be pretty good for me is I'll get the post to know and I'll put it right below the camera.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_05]: right below the camera.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_05]: So I can shift my eye right below the camera and see like a point.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_05]: So I'll always start with the thesis.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_05]: Because in the beginning, when people go live, hi John, oh my god, yeah, okay, oh you'll call, okay, hold on.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_05]: I'm away from a few people to get here.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_05]: Oh yeah, that's dead in the water.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_05]: You want to treat your live like it's a video from the outset.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_05]: Like 321 action.
- 37:51[SPEAKER_05]: And so when it goes live and I see it pops up and I'm like, we're here to talk about and then I talk about pressure.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_05]: So I always think like the easiest way to get
- 37:59[SPEAKER_05]: without Y in Z time.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_05]: That's like the best.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_05]: If you could do that.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_05]: So it's like, let's talk about losing five pounds without losing your mind in one week.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_05]: Or maybe I mean, I mean, I'm, obviously I'm not into fitness.
- 38:11[SPEAKER_05]: Five pounds in a week is probably too much, whatever.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_05]: Like five pounds in like a month, whatever.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_05]: And so you start up with the thesis and what you're doing is you're pre-qualifying who's gonna watch.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_05]: Because if people who don't want to lose the five pounds, they're not gonna be your customer.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_05]: I'm not on Instagram to be popular.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_05]: I'm there to be profitable.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_05]: So I'm gonna talk to a small group of people about a big problem so that they pay me a lot of money.
- 38:30[SPEAKER_05]: Can I get a name it?
- 38:31[SPEAKER_07]: Amen.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, so the goal here is to qualify who's in be watching and then you immediately go in and so I will just say like that the I'll write my thesis Like five pounds a month and then I put three main points, but I don't write a lot because then I would get caught up It was like oh did I get that bullet point the sub bullet point.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_05]: It's just the three main points
- 38:47[SPEAKER_05]: It was like meal planning, macro counting, walk 10,000 steps a day, whatever, and I'm going to do this.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_05]: And like, are there any questions?
- 38:54[SPEAKER_05]: And I'm always guiding people to use the Q&A box because if you have a comment, it floats away.
- 38:58[SPEAKER_05]: But now Instagram, live, if they drop it in the comment in the question box, all of the questions stay aggregated so you can bring it up.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_05]: And then you could press it and then it pops the question box on the frame so anybody who's watching is seeing the question.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_05]: So then more people are like, oh, I want to get a shout out.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_05]: And so what we're doing there, now here's the only bad thing about it.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_05]: is that if you save the recorded version of it, the questions don't pop up.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_05]: So what I've learned is that I can't be like, oh John, I got your question, blah, blah, blah, blah, but then when I was trying to clip it for like a real at a later point in time, like people thought I was just crazy, multiple personalities.
- 39:31[SPEAKER_05]: I was like, and so then, hey John, how are you?
- 39:33[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, so now what I just like John, I see you want to know about 1, 2, 3, great.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_05]: So I'm doing that to give me optionality in the back end, because maybe I don't want to have the whole life, but I want to use part of the live into a short reel, then that's what I'll use it for.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_02]: That's fire.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_02]: Just a little game goes a long way.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_05]: That's right.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_02]: Something I love about forcing yourself to do live.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_02]: The selfish part is that it'll just make you better.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_02]: Like, there's a different psychological approach when you create and you know it can't be edited.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_02]: You roll through the sneeze, you, you, you, you, it just is what it is.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_02]: And then even the internal breakthrough that happens when you post it, and you just,
- 40:14[SPEAKER_02]: And then, and then, here's the external benefit.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_02]: Is you create a real expectation for other people that is more sustainable for you to keep.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_02]: So when you are hyper-producing content, what happens is you create an expectation that you have to keep showing up for.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_02]: And so you just dug yourself, what is it shot yourself in the foot?
- 40:37[SPEAKER_02]: Is that what the white people say?
- 40:38[SPEAKER_02]: Now that's my job.
- 40:40[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know why I do that and people think I'm the racist for saying jokes like that, but that's just, yeah, it's a Filipino part of me.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_02]: But that's why I chose this format to show up because it's an easily, sustainable way to show up.
- 40:56[SPEAKER_02]: And there's not much editing in post.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_02]: And if there's an easy route to do something, then I mean, sometimes take it.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_02]: And so live stream is, I'm glad you said that, even in today, especially with the rise of AI.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_02]: Like now AI can create short form content, but can it show up on a live stream?
- 41:16[SPEAKER_05]: I think it's just a matter of time before it will.
- 41:18[SPEAKER_05]: And so if that's what I wholeheartedly believe, and if I believe that then I need to create in spite and in spite, and then we're all if AI is digging, then we Zach.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_05]: Whatever's gonna be the next thing for us to show up as validated.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_05]: But I want to speak to the reality of going live.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_05]: Um, I've worn like my shirt inside out and people will call me out on it.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_05]: People say like, I sometimes I make coffee while I'm doing like a whole and coffee in conversations and people like, why are you making your coffee that way?
- 41:44[SPEAKER_05]: You're roasting you're being wrong.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_05]: It's like all of the stuff that people are saying they actually make you, they make you better.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_05]: They just do.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_05]: So when you do sneeze and then you're like, oh my gosh, I'm so embarrassed people are like, it's okay Like they come along to support you because they know that they would never do what it is you're doing and One other thing is they're you can bring people on live with you and so I Did that for a while just happening somebody asked their question and one person came on and they weren't wearing any clothes and I was like
- 42:11[SPEAKER_05]: Oh my god, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, and so everything that can go wrong on a live has gone wrong, and I'm still here to talk about, it doesn't kill you.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_05]: It doesn't kill you, you just learn, you get smarter, you do things faster, it doesn't kill you.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_02]: That's cool.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_02]: How often would you encourage someone to go live?
- 42:28[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, as much as humanly possible, like when I got very, very serious about it, I was doing it every Tuesday at 9 a.m. Every Tuesday at 9 a.m.
- 42:36[SPEAKER_05]: And so, I think the last, a couple of years have just been like a real journey for me to understand like, who are you, what do you accept about yourself, where are you going, what is the real real?
- 42:46[SPEAKER_05]: And I realize that when you create live,
- 42:50[SPEAKER_05]: everything shows.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_05]: And I'm like, I'm not ready to show this part of me because I'm in the part of discovery.
- 42:57[SPEAKER_05]: And so I peeled back a lot on my content.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_05]: I was like, I'm going to teach what I know.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_05]: Because we've been very honed now on social media, like we smell when somebody's being inauthentic.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_05]: Like we see it.
- 43:08[SPEAKER_05]: And so we also smell when somebody's trying to copy what somebody else is doing and they're doing a really bad job at it.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_05]: And so when we get criticized for it, it hits
- 43:20[SPEAKER_05]: It wouldn't matter to you whatsoever.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_05]: But if I said, oh, you're a carbon copy of this and you're, it looks like you're a tri-hard.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_05]: And even if it was just a 1% piece of truth to it.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_05]: it would hurt.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_05]: So it's the truth that hurts us.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_05]: And so what I always like to do is when I get a lot of, when I get a negative feedback and it comes in all different ways, shape or form is like, and it hurt, I'm like, what was true about that?
- 43:45[SPEAKER_05]: What was true about what they said and then face it hit on?
- 43:49[SPEAKER_05]: Call it out the next time.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_05]: Be the first to call yourself around what it is and then show that change and people trust you so differently on the back of that.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_05]: If you are, please know I screen shot and I say I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, kind of looking back at your journey, I people tend to get encouraged that sharing our failures.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_02]: And because they're in the season of potentially failing, trying something in failing, I'm not going to do it, I'm not going to do it, I'm not going to do it, I'm not going to do it, I'm not going to do it, I'm not going to do it, I'm not going to do it, I'm not going to do it, I'm not going to do it, I'm not going to do it, I'm not going to do it, I'm not going to do it, I'm not going to do it, I'm not going to do it, I'm not going to do it, I'm not going to do it, I'm not going to do it, I'm not going to do it, I'm not going to do it, I'm not
- 44:23[SPEAKER_02]: Can you share a thing, a time where you had the outcome in mind, and it was nowhere near that, and then what did that do to you?
- 44:33[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I mean, but I want you to excavate a little bit more because I just think that business is just a series of failures.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_05]: in like for every success that anybody sees, there's like a graveyard of failures and lessons.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_05]: So I want to be an open book, I'll talk about anything, but it's like we can go like to like last week where we just decided to scale in such a way and didn't have a support structure on the back end and the team's running like ragged.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_05]: And I said, I went too fast and the tyrant is 10 steps ahead and the leader is one step ahead.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_05]: The lesson was don't be tyrant.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_05]: There's because you have a high capacity, I am a visionary, I'm a doer, I'm a thinker, but for people who build the systems behind us, they have to say, you have to build the system, you have to build the foundation before we go, give us time to do that.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_05]: It was a failure in my end as a leader.
- 45:23[SPEAKER_05]: A failure in my end was, you know, most people would get outside funding to build a SaaS tech company, and I didn't.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_05]: And I think if I look back, it was just like this.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_05]: I'm going to do it and I'm going to prove and we got this and we're shoveling seven figures of money into developing and hiring a team.
- 45:43[SPEAKER_05]: Something I am the most proud of and I had no idea what I was doing.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_05]: Most expensive lesson and it's also the lesson that I am proud of.
- 45:54[SPEAKER_05]: And so it's like talk to ask me like anything but it is just
- 45:59[SPEAKER_05]: The mind flip for me in 2026 was, so I come from a long line of addicts.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_05]: And I think I have a very addictive personality, but I'm an addict of work.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_05]: So I have these acceptable things that she's such a hard worker.
- 46:15[SPEAKER_05]: Yes, I am.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_05]: And then sometimes I found myself doing the work to not feel.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_05]: Like if I just keep moving by keep pushing and so going into this year,
- 46:27[SPEAKER_05]: I just had like a Jacob and God.
- 46:30[SPEAKER_05]: I was gonna wrestle with God.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_05]: I was like, I'm not gonna tap out.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_05]: In my prayer was, I'm gonna stop pushing.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_05]: I got me here.
- 46:40[SPEAKER_05]: And the next level of me, I got to be pulled.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_05]: I don't have it in me to push anymore.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_05]: Like I've pushed, oh, like can.
- 46:47[SPEAKER_05]: And I keep on pushing and I'm running into a brick wall.
- 46:52[SPEAKER_05]: There is a version of me 20 years ago
- 46:57[SPEAKER_05]: How dare you think that there's more and in my bones, I feel like there is, but it can't come from me pushing anymore.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_05]: I've pushed to my limit.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_05]: So my ask was, I gotta be pulled.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_05]: The next level of me is I gotta be pulled.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_05]: And in order for me to be pulled in my next level, I have to trust.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_05]: I have to trust that the opportunities that come my way, that the people who are putting my path, that you will say yes to everything, because it is a pool.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_05]: And I wanted to say thank you, like really, this is a pool.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_05]: This happened, like this happened, like weeks, you know?
- 47:34[SPEAKER_05]: And I was like, say yes, say yes, this is the year of being pulled.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 47:40[SPEAKER_05]: Thank you.
- 47:41[SPEAKER_02]: So good.
- 47:41[SPEAKER_02]: I...
- 47:43[SPEAKER_02]: for my journey, a lot shifted when I took myself serious and invested in myself.
- 47:50[SPEAKER_02]: What was that first?
- 47:53[SPEAKER_02]: you know, opportunity you said yes to, and did you get into a room where you maybe were the dumbest person in the room and like, what was that like?
- 48:01[SPEAKER_05]: Always.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_05]: Like, I don't get into rooms where I'm the smartest.
- 48:03[SPEAKER_05]: I actually champion against that.
- 48:05[SPEAKER_05]: I am not, I am definitely not trying to be in those rooms.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_05]: So everywhere I go, present company included, I am the dumbest.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_05]: I have a lot to learn.
- 48:15[SPEAKER_05]: If you are my people, I need to hear and I need to pay special attention to what is being said in between the lines because then I get to use my magic power and put it out into the world as my gift.
- 48:25[SPEAKER_05]: The first time I ever made an investment in myself.
- 48:28[SPEAKER_05]: So I knew it was at 2015.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_05]: And I knew I was like, so there's this thing.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_05]: You guys are so ridiculous.
- 48:35[SPEAKER_05]: So Darwin talks about this experiment where they had three separate islands and monkeys on the island, and they put a chest with something in the chest, all separate islands.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_05]: The monkeys were all going with the objective to open the chest.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_05]: Why was it that the monkeys opened the chest all around the same time on an entirely separate island?
- 48:55[SPEAKER_05]: They were not communicating to themselves.
- 48:57[SPEAKER_05]: So there's this idea that we evolve into a collective consciousness that something else is out there or more.
- 49:02[SPEAKER_05]: 2015 hits and I'm like, I feel like I should be creating something on the internet where I can teach.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_05]: I literally, I'm saying, I want to create a course, but I don't know, of course, is exist.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_05]: So I'm like, I'm going to do this thing.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_05]: So I go and I put up, I think, like, $45,000, and I host a live event, and I sell tickets to a two-day live branding event where we're teaching people how to build a brand.
- 49:27[SPEAKER_05]: And I hire, it's so ridiculous.
- 49:28[SPEAKER_05]: I think I hired, like,
- 49:30[SPEAKER_05]: seven videographers, a DP, I mean, I just went, I'm in LA, and I was like, show time, maybe, I had no idea what I was doing.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_05]: I made put up so much money to get this thing out there on music, but it's gonna be my piece to resistance.
- 49:42[SPEAKER_05]: I had no clue what I was doing.
- 49:44[SPEAKER_05]: And all of a sudden, I'm here with all of this video, and I'm like, how do I put it online?
- 49:48[SPEAKER_05]: What do I even do with it?
- 49:49[SPEAKER_05]: And randomly on the internet, I see an ad for a stranger that's just like, do you wanna put an online course?
- 49:55[SPEAKER_05]: And I'm like, what's an online course?
- 49:56[SPEAKER_05]: So I'm reading this, and I was like, yes.
- 49:58[SPEAKER_05]: Yes, yes, and he's like, come to my free class.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_05]: This is a webinar, I have no idea what this is.
- 50:03[SPEAKER_05]: I'm like, okay, so I signed it.
- 50:03[SPEAKER_05]: My husband and I were cooking in the kitchen.
- 50:05[SPEAKER_05]: And it's before the class begins.
- 50:07[SPEAKER_05]: And he's like, tell me, where you're from?
- 50:09[SPEAKER_05]: And I'm put, Jasmine, Newport Beach.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_05]: Jasmine, welcome from Newport Beach.
- 50:12[SPEAKER_05]: And I drink my husband and I'm like,
- 50:13[SPEAKER_05]: He knows we're here.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_05]: I had no idea that these things existed on the internet.
- 50:19[SPEAKER_05]: So he's going through and he's talking about how he's going to help you transform and to build a course online.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_05]: I was like, yes, yes, and so we're getting to it.
- 50:25[SPEAKER_05]: By this time, our meal is done and we take my laptop and it's on the table.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_05]: My husband and I are eating over dinner watching like it's 1950s television and like Sputnik's about to go off and I was like, oh my gosh, my husband's like, I think this would be expensive.
- 50:34[SPEAKER_05]: I said, oh, isn't he so expensive and he's like, how much do you think it's going to be?
- 50:36[SPEAKER_05]: $5,000.
- 50:37[SPEAKER_05]: It's like, no, I think it's eight.
- 50:40[SPEAKER_05]: I was like, yes, no, no, wait, it's eight thousand dollars.
- 50:42[SPEAKER_05]: He gets the pitch 25,000 dollars.
- 50:46[SPEAKER_05]: I was like, get behind me satin.
- 50:49[SPEAKER_05]: I closed that laptop.
- 50:50[SPEAKER_05]: I was like, no, wait, no, wait, there's just no way.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_05]: washing the dishes, quiet, my husband's like, you're thinking about it, aren't you?
- 50:57[SPEAKER_05]: I was like, no, I'm not any said tomorrow.
- 51:01[SPEAKER_05]: You're gonna think about it.
- 51:03[SPEAKER_05]: I was like, I'm not.
- 51:04[SPEAKER_05]: I'm not.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_05]: The next day, you have to spend $1,000 just to apply to the burden.
- 51:11[SPEAKER_05]: So I told him, husband, what, you see, it's not 25, it's 1,000.
- 51:14[SPEAKER_05]: And so I put down the 1,000.
- 51:17[SPEAKER_05]: And I'm like, but I'm not gonna get accepted.
- 51:18[SPEAKER_05]: I'm not gonna get accepted.
- 51:21[SPEAKER_05]: So then I get accepted.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_05]: And I saw my husband do I believe that by doing this program for a year, I can make 25,000 and one dollar.
- 51:33[SPEAKER_05]: Can I learn one thing in 12 months that will make me 25,000 and one dollar?
- 51:38[SPEAKER_05]: I said, I believe I can, my husband says, I believe you can too.
- 51:42[SPEAKER_05]: So it's been $25,000 and here's the, here's the whole can't of it.
- 51:48[SPEAKER_05]: I go in saying, I've already recorded all of it.
- 51:50[SPEAKER_05]: I have the video I'm ready to go.
- 51:52[SPEAKER_05]: It's gonna be a $3,000 course $2,997.
- 51:55[SPEAKER_05]: I saw it in my dreams.
- 51:56[SPEAKER_05]: And he's like, have you ever sold anything online?
- 51:59[SPEAKER_05]: And I was like, nope, but I can do it.
- 52:01[SPEAKER_05]: He's like, okay, why don't we start a little smaller?
- 52:04[SPEAKER_05]: Why don't we get people familiar that when they spend something small with you, they spend something bigger with you?
- 52:10[SPEAKER_05]: And I was like, no, I don't have time for that.
- 52:11[SPEAKER_05]: I'm so sorry.
- 52:12[SPEAKER_05]: And I have a challenge for you.
- 52:13[SPEAKER_05]: 45 days, build a 97 dollar course.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_05]: And I said, on what?
- 52:19[SPEAKER_05]: And he's like, well, what do people ask me about?
- 52:20[SPEAKER_05]: I was like, oh, so stupid, Instagram.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_05]: And he's like,
- 52:25[SPEAKER_05]: create a course for Instagram on how business owners use Instagram.
- 52:29[SPEAKER_05]: I took it as a challenge sold $255,000 in five days on a $97 product which is crazy, which is crazy.
- 52:39[SPEAKER_02]: There's your $25,000 in one.
- 52:42[SPEAKER_05]: That's right.
- 52:43[SPEAKER_05]: So we were ROI positive within the first three months of the program and then that course ended up raising the price we ended up launching it and that was a seven figure revenue stream that came in that year.
- 52:51[SPEAKER_05]: So when you invest in yourself and you are committed to doing whatever it takes and listening because there is a version I was with people when this mentor would say like you should do this and like no I'm gonna do it my way.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_05]: Why are you paying him?
- 53:02[SPEAKER_05]: Like just tell me what to do yes and say right away and say yes okay and that was the thing that really set the
- 53:10[SPEAKER_02]: So good, I love that you share that.
- 53:13[SPEAKER_02]: Even how you say that you got accepted, but I see air quotes around the word.
- 53:18[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry.
- 53:18[SPEAKER_05]: I didn't know what digital marketing was.
- 53:19[SPEAKER_05]: I was like, application fee, oh my God, and it worked.
- 53:23[SPEAKER_05]: It totally worked.
- 53:24[SPEAKER_02]: So good.
- 53:25[SPEAKER_02]: Is this guy still around today?
- 53:26[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 53:27[SPEAKER_02]: Was it Dan Henry?
- 53:28[SPEAKER_05]: No, it was James Wedmoy.
- 53:30[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, wow, okay, OG.
- 53:31[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I lit legit OG.
- 53:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's funny.
- 53:34[SPEAKER_02]: I did something like that, web class, and it led to a book a call, and I had a photography course in my heart to create, I already created it, actually.
- 53:45[SPEAKER_02]: Then I hop on what I didn't know was a sales call at the time because I didn't know sales And it's just some rando and not the guy who did the web class and he's like so Omar, what are you trying to do?
- 53:54[SPEAKER_02]: I was I'm trying to sell a course and he's like dude There actually is a photographer in our program that has made over a million dollars with their photography course And my mind I'm like what mind's gonna be better You know and So he's like Yeah, it's nine grand and I didn't take it
- 54:15[SPEAKER_02]: Then fast forward, maybe five years, the first offer I do take is $55,000.
- 54:23[SPEAKER_02]: But when I take that offer, I realize how much I would have gotten at the $9,000.
- 54:27[SPEAKER_02]: And something that is just a principle is...
- 54:30[SPEAKER_02]: Today's price is not tomorrow's the price is always changing and the sooner and this is why it's so important to have that draw to the person You know the power of their content binge their stuff and and if if someone has a connection There's probably a reason for that.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_02]: I actually think there's like Ordnance in that.
- 54:51[SPEAKER_02]: I think it says and I I say I will no longer hide your teachers from you no more
- 54:58[SPEAKER_02]: And there is actually the, if God's going to do something in your life, he's going to use a person.
- 55:03[SPEAKER_02]: And if the devil's going to do something in your life, it's going to be through a person.
- 55:07[SPEAKER_02]: So to have the discernment to know when somebody is your person, but really cool even how you talk about the dialogue you and your husband had, because that's one of the biggest objections is hey, babe, can I do this or how can we do this?
- 55:24[SPEAKER_02]: Can you speak to a the husband and wife dynamic of business?
- 55:30[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know if you are ready.
- 55:34[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know if you are ready.
- 55:35[SPEAKER_05]: It's very divisive.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_05]: But here's the thing.
- 55:39[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, when we started creating this program, it was a shift, who I primarily serve are on to seven figure entrepreneurs wanting to scale to eight.
- 55:48[SPEAKER_05]: That has been like my jam, I brought in butter, like the thing I love to do, it lights me up.
- 55:52[SPEAKER_05]: And then I thought that I have a skill set and I have a megaphone to speak to a generation of people who want and can step up.
- 56:01[SPEAKER_05]: And I felt cold to it, literally the pulling.
- 56:05[SPEAKER_05]: I was like, that's not really where I was going.
- 56:09[SPEAKER_05]: And I just couldn't be pulled to serve this person.
- 56:12[SPEAKER_05]: And I was like, okay, how can you build a business that's no longer you and forgive me?
- 56:16[SPEAKER_05]: I use the word dancing monkey or like, see biscuit?
- 56:18[SPEAKER_05]: Go perform when you perform the business takes off.
- 56:21[SPEAKER_05]: And I was like, I don't want that business anymore.
- 56:23[SPEAKER_05]: I'm exhausted.
- 56:25[SPEAKER_05]: And do we have a business or is this a fan club?
- 56:28[SPEAKER_05]: That's a hard question to answer.
- 56:30[SPEAKER_05]: because when you pride yourself on being an entrepreneur, but your business is based on you performing, is that really a business?
- 56:38[SPEAKER_05]: And that was the two years of just uncopling, who are you?
- 56:42[SPEAKER_05]: And who do you say I am?
- 56:43[SPEAKER_05]: And so I was like, how do I build a business that's no longer on me, the driver, the performer, and all these other things?
- 56:49[SPEAKER_05]: The business was stripped away for this offer and say this is where we experiment.
- 56:52[SPEAKER_05]: And this is where I'm cutting away to go all in and build this thing.
- 56:56[SPEAKER_05]: And so, in terms of that, I got on the phone with hundreds and hundreds of people.
- 57:01[SPEAKER_05]: Now, most often and most likely, it was a vast majority of women.
- 57:05[SPEAKER_05]: It just, and it's totally fine.
- 57:07[SPEAKER_05]: People find their people.
- 57:08[SPEAKER_05]: I might not be a guy's person.
- 57:09[SPEAKER_05]: Totally fine.
- 57:10[SPEAKER_05]: Not a big deal.
- 57:11[SPEAKER_05]: It's just a lot of women start coming to me.
- 57:13[SPEAKER_05]: And the thing I saw again and again and again was that they had to check with their husbands.
- 57:19[SPEAKER_05]: And I'm big distinction between support and permission, and every man that I spoke to, there was never a mention, not once, that I need to consult my wife.
- 57:32[SPEAKER_05]: And that's the state of it.
- 57:35[SPEAKER_05]: And the reason, uh, dang, it's like this is where it becomes super divisive.
- 57:40[SPEAKER_05]: But it's, I'm in it.
- 57:41[SPEAKER_05]: I see it, and I'm going to call it.
- 57:44[SPEAKER_05]: If there is a system and there is a structure, where money is power.
- 57:48[SPEAKER_05]: And if there is a person who runs the money, they have the power.
- 57:52[SPEAKER_05]: And women who would like a seat at the table in order to make money have to invest money, most often than not.
- 57:59[SPEAKER_05]: And if they are not given that money, granted that money, gifted that money without the other person coming, Bach, Bach, Bach, and why hasn't it been done?
- 58:06[SPEAKER_05]: You've done this before, you've tried before.
- 58:07[SPEAKER_05]: How can anybody succeed under those circumstances?
- 58:11[SPEAKER_05]: So when I talk about this, I want a program for everybody out there.
- 58:16[SPEAKER_05]: If you have nothing special to say, and I'm here to say, you do.
- 58:20[SPEAKER_05]: It's so special, you actually don't realize that you think that your gift is everybody else's norm, and it's not.
- 58:25[SPEAKER_05]: So our team is there to guide, what is your special?
- 58:28[SPEAKER_05]: What is your sellout?
- 58:29[SPEAKER_05]: What is your secret sauce, right?
- 58:30[SPEAKER_05]: What are you gonna put out into the world?
- 58:32[SPEAKER_05]: I believe everybody has it.
- 58:33[SPEAKER_05]: If you choose to believe otherwise, no problem, that's not me.
- 58:35[SPEAKER_05]: You could fight for your limitations.
- 58:36[SPEAKER_05]: I'm not gonna co-sign.
- 58:37[SPEAKER_05]: I believe that everybody has something in them.
- 58:39[SPEAKER_05]: But if you have a partner who is constantly talking down or controlling what it is you do, how can you ever move past the state of life that you're in?
- 58:49[SPEAKER_05]: And so, yeah, when I see women go through a 90-day program and make back the money that they meet in the program, you're off to the fricking races.
- 58:58[SPEAKER_05]: And what do the women say, Omar?
- 59:02[SPEAKER_05]: They're not wanting to invest in crypto.
- 59:04[SPEAKER_05]: They're not trying to buy properties.
- 59:07[SPEAKER_05]: They want to retire their husband.
- 59:10[SPEAKER_05]: They want to send their kids to private school.
- 59:12[SPEAKER_05]: They want to pay for vacations, and they want to give to charity.
- 59:17[SPEAKER_05]: Wow.
- 59:19[SPEAKER_05]: Nothing bad has happened when women get money.
- 59:22[SPEAKER_05]: I would like for the world to see that nothing happens when women have money.
- 59:26[SPEAKER_05]: And unfortunately, it's very, very difficult for a to have.
- 59:31[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
- 59:32[SPEAKER_02]: That was powerful.
- 59:33[SPEAKER_02]: Come on.
- 59:36[SPEAKER_02]: I think this is a proper time for me to publicly honor my wife.
- 59:41[SPEAKER_05]: Do it, let's go!
- 59:43[SPEAKER_02]: Babe, I just want to honor you.
- 59:44[SPEAKER_02]: I have the text thread when I was sitting in the room where I heard the offer, just to put it back, or just a fact track, thank you.
- 59:57[SPEAKER_02]: Just a fact track.
- 59:58[SPEAKER_02]: I felt like there was a season for us as a family.
- 1:00:02[SPEAKER_02]: And I felt to draw to a human being online, my own golden.
- 1:00:06[SPEAKER_02]: He throws an event, an in-person event.
- 1:00:09[SPEAKER_02]: And I just something in me is like, I'm supposed to be in that room.
- 1:00:12[SPEAKER_02]: And it started there where Amanda said, hey, I believe this is going to be different for us.
- 1:00:18[SPEAKER_02]: Let's book up first class take it.
- 1:00:21[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, let's put you in the most expensive room.
- 1:00:23[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
- 1:00:24[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, the wife speaks.
- 1:00:26[SPEAKER_02]: No, but like that meant the world that there was a unity even in that.
- 1:00:34[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, yeah, let's do it.
- 1:00:36[SPEAKER_02]: And then I have the text back and forth while I'm sitting in the offer and she's screenshots our bank account and it's not enough.
- 1:00:45[SPEAKER_02]: And she says we could pull out a loan, whatever I trust you, like I am a product of the yes that day and we're talking offline about all the things that have happened, but like that was such a pivotal moment and the dialogue that I had with my wife.
- 1:01:05[SPEAKER_02]: is where they're true credit goes.
- 1:01:07[SPEAKER_02]: And when I think about how many times an opportunity takes place, which is why we're in the first time in 12 and a half years, we got a marriage counselor, not because our marriage is falling because we want to prevent it of maintenance, but even more so I found that if you can deal with the home life and might want to say deal with,
- 1:01:27[SPEAKER_02]: increase intimacy, you know, health, openness, all that.
- 1:01:33[SPEAKER_02]: Then as a byproduct, your business will blow up.
- 1:01:36[SPEAKER_05]: Absolutely.
- 1:01:37[SPEAKER_02]: And if you think that you can fix a business problem about fixing the bed problem, what's going to happen is resentments going to happen.
- 1:01:45[SPEAKER_02]: I've just seen it.
- 1:01:47[SPEAKER_02]: I've seen it where you, as an entrepreneur, you go into your space and place of work and your worship.
- 1:01:53[SPEAKER_02]: And then you go home and you're not.
- 1:01:55[SPEAKER_02]: You shouldn't be.
- 1:01:57[SPEAKER_02]: And I actually think the real work is in the home and the place should be business, but I'm saying all this to say that the partnership of marriage, it's the gods or ordained the promise for your life.
- 1:02:13[SPEAKER_02]: It's actually a collective promise, not individual.
- 1:02:16[SPEAKER_02]: And so I think fighting for these conversations with your spouse and clearing these things up and that's the status quo of what we've been prescribed and what we see out there.
- 1:02:28[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks for sharing that.
- 1:02:28[SPEAKER_02]: That was really powerful.
- 1:02:30[SPEAKER_05]: And one thing I want to be clear, I'm not like a, I'm woman here where I'm going to move without my husband.
- 1:02:35[SPEAKER_05]: I, my husband and I are team mates.
- 1:02:38[SPEAKER_05]: or teammates.
- 1:02:39[SPEAKER_05]: And so, I'm looking for his support, not for his permission, because in our relationship, we have clearly identified certain things where we're 50-50 partners on everything.
- 1:02:48[SPEAKER_05]: Every bank account, we're 50, the holding company, 50-50, but in certain things we're 51-49 because you can't have a two-headed horse.
- 1:02:56[SPEAKER_05]: So 51% for marketing brand, that's all me.
- 1:03:00[SPEAKER_05]: 51% for finances long-term planning, that's going to be him.
- 1:03:04[SPEAKER_05]: So he doesn't need to ask my permission about whether or not he's in his cell things in stock market.
- 1:03:09[SPEAKER_05]: I trust him.
- 1:03:10[SPEAKER_05]: And he trusts me.
- 1:03:11[SPEAKER_05]: I want to be informed.
- 1:03:12[SPEAKER_05]: He wants to be informed, but that is how we continue to grow and evolve.
- 1:03:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, great.
- 1:03:17[SPEAKER_02]: Proverbs 31, he truts his heart truss in her, that like, there's just that deeper, and I think that's powerful because it allows you to move quick.
- 1:03:29[SPEAKER_02]: So he, one would say, you're at the breadwinner.
- 1:03:35[SPEAKER_02]: because the business that you started, you're the CEO of the business.
- 1:03:40[SPEAKER_02]: How, I mean, that's just like another dynamic, I think that would help a lot of women, and I know you shared a little bit, but what is it?
- 1:03:48[SPEAKER_05]: That's the way I'm like an open book.
- 1:03:49[SPEAKER_02]: I think my hesitation is, how do you stay in that nurturing mother role by also showing up the business meetings?
- 1:03:59[SPEAKER_05]: And you got to put on- Absolutely.
- 1:04:00[SPEAKER_05]: one thing that this is the first year that I've been open about talking about because I don't actually whatever you talk about you're going to ask questions about and people are going to have opinions and like have all the opinions you want about like how I look who I am, my business, but if you have opinions about my husband and daughter I will crawl through the internet and shake you like so if I don't want people talking about that I don't talk about it.
- 1:04:21[SPEAKER_05]: and this year a lot of questions have been coming around like motherhood and entrepreneurship and I'm like listen I'm not the mom per nor like you're not coming to me for that advice I have a very a typical life I've made a typical decisions and we get a typical outcomes as a result of it so I don't think that the way that I'm doing it is right it's just right for us so we just talked about that 5149 my husband is 51 for our daughter
- 1:04:44[SPEAKER_05]: He took a step back in the business where he was doing just, he was running just as hard as I was, and he said, we want a full-time present parent with our daughter in I want to be that person, because the business can't be without you, and the business can be without me.
- 1:05:01[SPEAKER_05]: But the role that he plays is a 100% strategy.
- 1:05:05[SPEAKER_05]: The guy sits at 300,000 feet and he sees the game from above.
- 1:05:09[SPEAKER_05]: And when I'm on the field, and so we had this relationship, we were teammates, we were on the fields together.
- 1:05:15[SPEAKER_05]: And I always knew that I can never date a man who was gonna be my cheerleader.
- 1:05:18[SPEAKER_05]: Someone else on the sideline, I believe in you, babe.
- 1:05:20[SPEAKER_05]: Like, oh, no, no, no, no, I can't.
- 1:05:22[SPEAKER_05]: What I need is, I need you on the field with me.
- 1:05:24[SPEAKER_05]: And then all of a sudden things changed and he now sitting in the stadium box as a coach.
- 1:05:29[SPEAKER_05]: So, he's up there being like, I see this, I see this, I see this, and every time he calls like a play, like figuratively and literally speaking, he's right.
- 1:05:37[SPEAKER_05]: And in like the last two years that he stepped in forks and foremost, as her primary care attacker, he's been right in every single call.
- 1:05:44[SPEAKER_05]: So, now I'm like, coach, let's go, tell me, what do I do?
- 1:05:47[SPEAKER_05]: So, anything that's good in the business has been because of his foresight and vision for things I cannot see.
- 1:05:58[SPEAKER_05]: I'm not a mom who's an entrepreneur.
- 1:06:00[SPEAKER_05]: So even though I work from home and I get to have breakfast lunch and dinner with my daughter and I get to do bath time, I get to bed time, I get to reading time, I get to go to the park.
- 1:06:07[SPEAKER_05]: If I want to take an extra long lunch to take her around on her unicorn bicycle, yes, I get to do that.
- 1:06:10[SPEAKER_05]: What an honor and a privilege, but make no mistake.
- 1:06:14[SPEAKER_05]: When it is the work day, I am working.
- 1:06:17[SPEAKER_05]: And if there is something needed, that is where my husband is, at that point in time.
- 1:06:21[SPEAKER_05]: It doesn't work for everybody.
- 1:06:22[SPEAKER_05]: I know that.
- 1:06:24[SPEAKER_05]: It just happens to work for us.
- 1:06:25[SPEAKER_05]: And we're getting outsized results as a byproduct.
- 1:06:28[SPEAKER_05]: Now, here's the thing.
- 1:06:29[SPEAKER_05]: I'm out here in Vegas.
- 1:06:30[SPEAKER_05]: And one thing that we said, every single year, we're going to revisit this.
- 1:06:33[SPEAKER_05]: But the goal was, if I'm going to be a way more than one night, I want them coming with me.
- 1:06:37[SPEAKER_05]: And he was like, heck, yes, I co-sign.
- 1:06:39[SPEAKER_05]: And so we travel everywhere together if I'm gone for more than a night.
- 1:06:43[SPEAKER_02]: I love that.
- 1:06:45[SPEAKER_02]: beautiful it could you share I think it's really cool why you're in Vegas right now.
- 1:06:50[SPEAKER_02]: Can you share why you're in Vegas, right?
- 1:06:52[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, come on, are you really going to make me cry?
- 1:06:53[SPEAKER_05]: Like, I'm all I have it all together.
- 1:06:54[SPEAKER_05]: I have it all together.
- 1:06:55[SPEAKER_05]: In a minute, I'd talk about her, the minute I tell her, no, I'm good, I'm good.
- 1:06:59[SPEAKER_05]: So the year's 2020, and we started an adoption process in 2017, and we knew that that's where we felt called.
- 1:07:09[SPEAKER_05]: And three years into it, it's at the end of 2019, and I look at my husband, and I'm like, I think I'm tapped out.
- 1:07:17[SPEAKER_05]: I think I'm done waiting.
- 1:07:18[SPEAKER_05]: And he said, yeah, I think I am too.
- 1:07:21[SPEAKER_05]: And so we get a call after waiting three years.
- 1:07:24[SPEAKER_05]: And they say, baby girl's born in Las Vegas.
- 1:07:27[SPEAKER_05]: Get in the car and go.
- 1:07:29[SPEAKER_05]: So we have nothing.
- 1:07:30[SPEAKER_05]: We have no diapers, car seat, crib, we have nothing.
- 1:07:32[SPEAKER_05]: We just get in the car.
- 1:07:34[SPEAKER_05]: And we go.
- 1:07:35[SPEAKER_05]: We come to Las Vegas and we meet our daughter for the first time.
- 1:07:41[SPEAKER_05]: And I am telling you, Omar, it was like,
- 1:07:45[SPEAKER_05]: I know it sounds crazy, but it's just my truth.
- 1:07:48[SPEAKER_05]: When I had opened the door and the baby was in the carrier, hand to heaven, I just felt power, like radiate from this child.
- 1:07:57[SPEAKER_05]: And then I picked up, and I worried deeply, am I going to feel connected to her?
- 1:08:02[SPEAKER_05]: Is she going to feel connected to me?
- 1:08:04[SPEAKER_05]: There's a lot of biological stuff that happens between women and babies.
- 1:08:08[SPEAKER_05]: And I am, she did not come of me.
- 1:08:10[SPEAKER_05]: And the minute I held her, she just, she was my soul child.
- 1:08:15[SPEAKER_05]: I knew immediately, they'd grow, grabbed onto my hand.
- 1:08:17[SPEAKER_05]: My husband took a picture of it.
- 1:08:19[SPEAKER_05]: Grab into my finger and immediately took a bottle.
- 1:08:22[SPEAKER_05]: And I was like,
- 1:08:23[SPEAKER_05]: I'm done, like anything else in this whole wide world.
- 1:08:28[SPEAKER_05]: I am so done.
- 1:08:29[SPEAKER_05]: 2020 was the year of the Super Bowl.
- 1:08:34[SPEAKER_05]: So February 2nd was a Super Bowl in 2020.
- 1:08:38[SPEAKER_05]: And J.
- 1:08:38[SPEAKER_05]: Lo and Shrequita performed because, you know, dang I thought it was just Shakira.
- 1:08:44[SPEAKER_05]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
- 1:08:54[SPEAKER_05]: When they were performing, I had a baby in my hands, and I was dancing, and that felt more successful than anything I had ever done in my entire life.
- 1:09:07[SPEAKER_05]: And I think that people often look at it around her situation and how we met.
- 1:09:11[SPEAKER_05]: It's very complicated, very complicated situation.
- 1:09:14[SPEAKER_05]: And they always say, she's so lucky.
- 1:09:17[SPEAKER_05]: And I immediately correct them.
- 1:09:19[SPEAKER_05]: We are the lucky ones.
- 1:09:21[SPEAKER_05]: She's guided us.
- 1:09:22[SPEAKER_05]: She's made this purposeful.
- 1:09:24[SPEAKER_05]: She has grounded us.
- 1:09:25[SPEAKER_05]: She has been the reason the business has taken off the way that it should because me stepping back allowing the team to thrive.
- 1:09:31[SPEAKER_05]: There are better people doing better things and better ways than I ever could without her, I would not be me.
- 1:09:35[SPEAKER_05]: And so every year, February 2nd, we come to Las Vegas.
- 1:09:38[SPEAKER_05]: We stay in the same room at the same hotel.
- 1:09:41[SPEAKER_05]: We go to the same restaurants.
- 1:09:42[SPEAKER_05]: And we do the same thing.
- 1:09:43[SPEAKER_05]: And we say, this is the day we became a family.
- 1:09:45[SPEAKER_05]: And we will continue to do that until she asks us to do otherwise.
- 1:09:48[SPEAKER_02]: So beautiful.
- 1:09:49[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
- 1:09:53[SPEAKER_02]: What an awesome human you are.
- 1:09:56[SPEAKER_02]: If you guys want to ask a question, you can find your way here.
- 1:09:59[SPEAKER_02]: I do have a little bit of rapid fire kind of vibe.
- 1:10:01[SPEAKER_04]: So let's go.
- 1:10:02[SPEAKER_02]: They should maybe do well in the algorithm, just because it's just what tends to happen.
- 1:10:07[SPEAKER_04]: Get ready, pre-cutting them, and I was like, oh, shoot, no, shoot.
- 1:10:10[SPEAKER_02]: Again, yeah, if you guys literally have a genuine question, they don't feel ashamed, they're just room is safe.
- 1:10:16[SPEAKER_02]: All that stuff.
- 1:10:17[SPEAKER_02]: So just fill in this blank.
- 1:10:21[SPEAKER_05]: you don't have a business if you don't really control short form or long form content both whoever you can why pig one uh well that's a political issue long form is for conversion in short forms for attention hmm one good long form will do a longer term conversion than one viral short form it's really good why do you have a podcast
- 1:10:47[SPEAKER_05]: I, well, I get to meet cool people, number one, and then I create long form by way of conversations.
- 1:10:53[SPEAKER_05]: So I get to insert my perspective and ask questions from the other person too.
- 1:10:58[SPEAKER_02]: Really good.
- 1:10:59[SPEAKER_02]: Should you start your online business selling high ticket or should you start your online business selling low ticket?
- 1:11:05[SPEAKER_05]: If you have an audience already, go high ticket.
- 1:11:08[SPEAKER_05]: If you don't have an audience and without an offer, I would suggest starting low and then working your way up.
- 1:11:17[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, I think you should give your best work away for free.
- 1:11:20[SPEAKER_05]: The conversion will happen after somebody trusts you and once they trust you, they are to experience your best stuff.
- 1:11:24[SPEAKER_05]: Now they're willing to do the work.
- 1:11:26[SPEAKER_02]: It's good.
- 1:11:30[SPEAKER_02]: It's just, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm a viral farming with this question, okay?
- 1:11:34[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.
- 1:11:36[SPEAKER_02]: Is it easier to be a woman in business or harder to be a woman in business?
- 1:11:40[SPEAKER_05]: It's matter of perspective.
- 1:11:42[SPEAKER_05]: Being a woman could be a disadvantage or an advantage.
- 1:11:44[SPEAKER_05]: I have chosen to believe that it is an advantage and I will leverage it for all that it's worth.
- 1:11:48[SPEAKER_05]: And if you tell me otherwise I will choose to say that I respectively disagree, but I'm out here with high heels and long lashes like breathing down like if you don't film my lashes when I blink, I'm doing it wrong.
- 1:11:57[SPEAKER_10]: So good.
- 1:11:58[SPEAKER_02]: I love that.
- 1:11:59[SPEAKER_02]: I just love that you even got ready.
- 1:12:02[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean guys don't get ready like that.
- 1:12:04[SPEAKER_05]: You know how you do one thing is how you do everything Hey, come on.
- 1:12:07[SPEAKER_05]: When I do an interview we haven't a video interview if you if you if you show up with like your hair tossed and like a hoodie How you do one thing is how you do everything.
- 1:12:15[SPEAKER_05]: Our core value is extraordinary is our baseline If you don't treat this zoom call like you're extraordinary the this team is not for you so good core values Did you always have core values for your business or did you create them?
- 1:12:30[SPEAKER_05]: minute we crossed seven figures and then that's when we started like hiring a small team.
- 1:12:34[SPEAKER_05]: I was like, well, what do we about?
- 1:12:35[SPEAKER_05]: Like, how do I hold people to?
- 1:12:36[SPEAKER_05]: So core values like at first, like we think that they sound nice, but they're actually become a barometer in which we hold people to.
- 1:12:41[SPEAKER_05]: So when we have like your annual meeting, we sit down with our core values and then we ask you, like, plus check or minus.
- 1:12:47[SPEAKER_05]: And then like their manager or their superior will sit there and grade them.
- 1:12:50[SPEAKER_05]: And then if you turn around and you're like, oh, you know, excellence.
- 1:12:53[SPEAKER_05]: Um, extraordinary as our baseline and we played a win and we own it.
- 1:12:56[SPEAKER_05]: And then your manager gives you just checks marks and a minus and you give yourself pluses.
- 1:13:00[SPEAKER_05]: There's like a misalignment.
- 1:13:01[SPEAKER_05]: So give us this an opportunity to say this is where you got to step up because your version of extraordinary is not our versions.
- 1:13:05[SPEAKER_05]: We're going to explain it to you.
- 1:13:07[SPEAKER_05]: We're going to put you in a pip performance improvement plan.
- 1:13:09[SPEAKER_05]: We're going to be the clear metrics and KPIs that you're going to walk away from with what to do.
- 1:13:12[SPEAKER_05]: We're going to give you 90 days to do.
- 1:13:13[SPEAKER_05]: We're going to walk you through every step.
- 1:13:15[SPEAKER_05]: If at the end of the 90 days,
- 1:13:16[SPEAKER_05]: decide to terminate.
- 1:13:17[SPEAKER_05]: It's not has anything to do with you.
- 1:13:18[SPEAKER_05]: We just have a bar and we're going to ask do you have any need to meet that bar?
- 1:13:22[SPEAKER_02]: So good.
- 1:13:23[SPEAKER_02]: That's not the way my brain naturally works.
- 1:13:26[SPEAKER_02]: And so I've learned.
- 1:13:28[SPEAKER_02]: I got to hire that out.
- 1:13:29[SPEAKER_02]: You know, and so I'm excited today.
- 1:13:32[SPEAKER_02]: It was a, I heard my CEO.
- 1:13:34[SPEAKER_02]: Shout out to Annabelle, Angleton.
- 1:13:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yay.
- 1:13:37[SPEAKER_02]: That was a big deal.
- 1:13:38[SPEAKER_02]: What a big deal.
- 1:13:45[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, the
- 1:13:47[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, so I'm a big reader.
- 1:13:49[SPEAKER_05]: So I think that this is like a business podcast.
- 1:13:50[SPEAKER_05]: I should talk about like business books at change my life.
- 1:13:55[SPEAKER_05]: The, the war of art.
- 1:13:59[SPEAKER_05]: By Stephen Presville, it's tiny, it's so good.
- 1:14:03[SPEAKER_05]: It's just magical, really good kick in the pants and the big leap by gay Hendricks.
- 1:14:09[SPEAKER_05]: Like incredible.
- 1:14:10[SPEAKER_05]: Those two books.
- 1:14:13[SPEAKER_05]: I went also at the third one, 10X is easier than 2X.
- 1:14:15[SPEAKER_05]: That was my most recent.
- 1:14:16[SPEAKER_05]: That one is like, I've listened to it for the third time over.
- 1:14:19[SPEAKER_05]: Like it's just bananas.
- 1:14:20[SPEAKER_05]: So the crazy thing is, we created this new offer, so my husband and I have a holding company.
- 1:14:24[SPEAKER_05]: Jasmine's our brand.
- 1:14:25[SPEAKER_05]: And then underneath the holding company, we have a SaaS offering, we have our consulting, so I am an advisor for companies where I have an equity stake in, and so we have all of these different LLCs.
- 1:14:33[SPEAKER_05]: So with this new LLC, this is when I took the two years to be like, what are you doing?
- 1:14:35[SPEAKER_05]: And how are you doing?
- 1:14:36[SPEAKER_05]: And what's the team that's going to be around you?
- 1:14:38[SPEAKER_05]: It's like, I had to go back and say,
- 1:14:41[SPEAKER_05]: leave everything and how you built in the past.
- 1:14:45[SPEAKER_05]: And then I used Dr. Benjamin Hardy's book, 10X is easier than two X.
- 1:14:49[SPEAKER_05]: Then to say, I'm only making 10X decisions.
- 1:14:52[SPEAKER_05]: I am trying to build another eight-figure revenue stream in one year on this one offer.
- 1:14:57[SPEAKER_05]: That's crazy.
- 1:14:58[SPEAKER_07]: That's crazy.
- 1:14:59[SPEAKER_05]: And if I miss it by 3 million, I'll be okay too.
- 1:15:02[SPEAKER_05]: But I'm like, you have to make these decisions to say, how do we break and buck what we know in order to go real big?
- 1:15:08[SPEAKER_05]: And so this is just like a Petri dish of an experiment for us to do that.
- 1:15:11[SPEAKER_02]: That's good.
- 1:15:11[SPEAKER_02]: You mentioned that SaaS company.
- 1:15:12[SPEAKER_02]: What is this SaaS company?
- 1:15:14[SPEAKER_05]: Social curator.
- 1:15:15[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 1:15:15[SPEAKER_05]: It started off as a membership.
- 1:15:17[SPEAKER_05]: And then in 2021, people are like, there's a lot of friction because we want to post our marketing content onto TikTok and Instagram and LinkedIn.
- 1:15:23[SPEAKER_05]: And so in order for us to do that, we had to build our own APIs.
- 1:15:27[SPEAKER_05]: Just turn everything inside out to make sure that people can do and take what they want in post.
- 1:15:31[SPEAKER_02]: Sweet, I love that.
- 1:15:32[SPEAKER_02]: And then last one before we get into a couple of questions and then we'll wrap this so you can take some photos with people.
- 1:15:38[SPEAKER_02]: What's the biggest difference between you and Bianca you're doing?
- 1:15:41[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, well, like, she's like, you know, de-pock and I'm like two-pock.
- 1:15:46[SPEAKER_05]: You know, she's like, she's like, you know, you know, she's holy.
- 1:15:49[SPEAKER_05]: I'm a little hood.
- 1:15:50[SPEAKER_05]: Uh, we are, okay, so we are for eternal twins.
- 1:15:53[SPEAKER_05]: Most people think that we're identical.
- 1:15:54[SPEAKER_05]: And if you don't know, um, my sister, she is the nice one.
- 1:15:58[SPEAKER_05]: She is gregarious.
- 1:15:59[SPEAKER_05]: She's like, syrup.
- 1:16:00[SPEAKER_05]: you know like and buddy the elf it's like you just around her and you just want more of her and she's vivacious and she draws people in and she's magnetic and she is a butterfly in a room full of months.
- 1:16:14[SPEAKER_05]: I am happily the wallflower like I am happily like a judge before I proceed.
- 1:16:21[SPEAKER_05]: I think before I speak.
- 1:16:23[SPEAKER_05]: I I I you Bianca collects pennies as friends and I collect quarters.
- 1:16:28[SPEAKER_05]: fewer the better we couldn't be more different but literally like the two of us from the womb Ying and Yang were everything that you see in my sister I am the end to this is of and yet she's like my absolute best friend best sneak new man like I'm like how am I related to you like we are so different and I'm so lucky that she is my life like the best thing ever.
- 1:16:47[SPEAKER_02]: I found that sibling, as we get older, having a strong, healthy sibling relationship is rare, because stuff comes in and people start drifting away.
- 1:16:58[SPEAKER_02]: It's really one of the most treasured relationships I have is with my siblings, especially with the year we walk through last year, which built the bond even more.
- 1:17:07[SPEAKER_02]: And I just have an early desire to leverage this business, to draw our
- 1:17:13[SPEAKER_02]: kids together and create healthy memories because everything I'm doing in counseling and therapy is like undoing the memories that have been.
- 1:17:21[SPEAKER_02]: So if we can get ahead of it as parents and you know create a reality that just only blesses their brains then I want to do that.
- 1:17:29[SPEAKER_05]: And so if somebody is listening and they have a desire to start relationship with their siblings and it feels a little wonky like I'm raising my hand right there with you.
- 1:17:35[SPEAKER_05]: And I think that I just decided to make commitment and I've made a commitment well in advance to put something on the calendar and I always said whoever can come,
- 1:17:42[SPEAKER_05]: You're welcome, but like this is what's going to be is going to be a meal or we're going to do something It's going to be a meal or we're going to do something and so I think it's just starts off with the intentionality of making yourself open and then Some conversations end up with old wounds being hashed open and then you got to work through the work thereafter But I think that we're so much better because of the intentionality behind meeting and knowing each other as adults that was like a big change So good
- 1:18:07[SPEAKER_02]: Great.
- 1:18:07[SPEAKER_02]: Well, let's take a couple of questions and just start with my question is and then roll into the question.
- 1:18:14[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you so much.
- 1:18:15[SPEAKER_00]: My question is going 10x in a business that you already have established.
- 1:18:21[SPEAKER_00]: What is your wisdom on burnout?
- 1:18:25[SPEAKER_05]: So my philosophy and it's very divisive is that burnout exists when you're not getting enough wind.
- 1:18:32[SPEAKER_05]: And so we're not afraid of doing the work, we're afraid of doing the work, and always getting a lackluster result.
- 1:18:37[SPEAKER_05]: So we're burning out.
- 1:18:38[SPEAKER_05]: But if you are doing the work and getting the results, you're not actually burned out.
- 1:18:42[SPEAKER_05]: So what I've learned is to ask myself, what do I need to do differently?
- 1:18:45[SPEAKER_05]: Because what this is is resulting in me burning out and not getting the result.
- 1:18:49[SPEAKER_05]: Now I know everybody has different ways of doing those things, but I know my capacity.
- 1:18:52[SPEAKER_05]: If I'm in my capacity, I feel burnt, I was like something's not right here.
- 1:18:55[SPEAKER_05]: And it is 100% figuring out what's wrong, what do I need to change?
- 1:18:59[SPEAKER_05]: Because too many losses in a row,
- 1:19:02[SPEAKER_10]: You know, thank you so much.
- 1:19:04[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 1:19:04[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate you.
- 1:19:05[SPEAKER_01]: Hi.
- 1:19:05[SPEAKER_01]: My question is, how do you scale or grow your business when you are the business or the face of the business?
- 1:19:13[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody sees you.
- 1:19:15[SPEAKER_01]: You are the coach.
- 1:19:16[SPEAKER_01]: How do you then grow that business without you having to be the person that is the business?
- 1:19:22[SPEAKER_05]: So okay.
- 1:19:23[SPEAKER_05]: So I told you how I was reading that book and I had to understand how do I scale me and the clear path for me was to create a team of coaches.
- 1:19:32[SPEAKER_05]: And we had never done that before, and I was scared because what are you going to control?
- 1:19:37[SPEAKER_05]: How somebody is actually coaching somebody else?
- 1:19:39[SPEAKER_05]: And what we did is we created a framework, we created coaching system, we created somebody watching every single call that is happening, me speaking with the coaches, then going to the curriculum, and then we have to trust.
- 1:19:51[SPEAKER_05]: And then we have to trust.
- 1:19:52[SPEAKER_05]: So the way that we will be able to, God willing, past eight figures in a year, is because we're no longer straddled by just me.
- 1:20:02[SPEAKER_05]: So I, in fact, have somebody who's heading the entire coaching department.
- 1:20:07[SPEAKER_05]: She is responsible for KPIs.
- 1:20:09[SPEAKER_05]: She is responsible for people's success rate.
- 1:20:11[SPEAKER_05]: She is responsible for what people are saying at the end of the program.
- 1:20:14[SPEAKER_05]: And I check in with her.
- 1:20:16[SPEAKER_05]: And so in order for us to get something far bigger, I have to be less, less, less inside of business.
- 1:20:22[SPEAKER_05]: So I'm outside of operations.
- 1:20:23[SPEAKER_05]: I'm outside of client success.
- 1:20:25[SPEAKER_05]: I'm outside of sales.
- 1:20:26[SPEAKER_05]: I'm outside of marketing.
- 1:20:27[SPEAKER_05]: I now report and say, what do I need to do to get where we want to go?
- 1:20:31[SPEAKER_05]: And then I say super high level.
- 1:20:32[SPEAKER_05]: What are we doing?
- 1:20:33[SPEAKER_05]: What are we doing?
- 1:20:33[SPEAKER_05]: Where are we going?
- 1:20:36[SPEAKER_05]: small ways in the business to keep it moving forward.
- 1:20:39[SPEAKER_05]: But the goal is to have its own brand in its own way that exists without me in three years.
- 1:20:45[SPEAKER_05]: Thank you so much.
- 1:20:46[SPEAKER_05]: Thank you.
- 1:20:46[SPEAKER_02]: So good.
- 1:20:47[SPEAKER_02]: That's probably one of my limiting beliefs right now is that people are here because of me, people buy because of me.
- 1:20:55[SPEAKER_02]: I'm the one coaching.
- 1:20:56[SPEAKER_02]: I brought up this question to Russell Bronson.
- 1:20:58[SPEAKER_02]: Something interesting he said.
- 1:20:59[SPEAKER_02]: He said, actually his thing is the title of the person.
- 1:21:05[SPEAKER_02]: don't hire coaches, hire facilitators.
- 1:21:09[SPEAKER_02]: It's kind of like, if you create a framework and he's coming from a place of experience, he's like, I would see a client that I've never met.
- 1:21:17[SPEAKER_02]: And they're like, yeah, no, so I did, so this someone told me to do this.
- 1:21:21[SPEAKER_02]: And he's like, no, oh, they tell you to do that.
- 1:21:23[SPEAKER_02]: So his, that level he would say, the facilitator, it's like just someone who's good with people who knows the framework and knows the curriculum and then they can just point on those calls and I'll get back to you, which was like a really cool freeing word for me as someone who is, I do love coaching, but I know at some point there will be a level where I will scale this group or a group that there will be an ex group,
- 1:21:50[SPEAKER_05]: But I would encourage you to say how much more could your students succeed by having accountability?
- 1:21:56[SPEAKER_05]: So we call them accountability coaches.
- 1:21:58[SPEAKER_05]: So we actively say we don't want you to take any other frameworks that you're writing from any other coaching programs.
- 1:22:03[SPEAKER_05]: All we want you to do is to follow our framework.
- 1:22:05[SPEAKER_05]: And your job is to move the distractions or the falls that are getting people's way.
- 1:22:09[SPEAKER_05]: And then ask, when are you going to get this done?
- 1:22:11[SPEAKER_05]: And if they say Thursday,
- 1:22:13[SPEAKER_05]: you're connecting with them and say, hey, do we get this done?
- 1:22:15[SPEAKER_05]: Why not?
- 1:22:15[SPEAKER_05]: What happened?
- 1:22:16[SPEAKER_05]: Great.
- 1:22:16[SPEAKER_05]: When we're going to get in, get in tomorrow.
- 1:22:18[SPEAKER_05]: I need, you, you turn it into me.
- 1:22:20[SPEAKER_05]: I'm going to greenlight it.
- 1:22:20[SPEAKER_05]: How are the greenlighting, according against the curriculum?
- 1:22:23[SPEAKER_05]: So we're literally just having them guide everybody, just stick to the curriculum because we know that this curriculum gets a result.
- 1:22:28[SPEAKER_02]: Fire.
- 1:22:30[SPEAKER_08]: Hey, my question is, based around your belief that everyone has a gift that just how hard do they want to work to get it, right?
- 1:22:36[SPEAKER_08]: Yes.
- 1:22:36[SPEAKER_08]: And so if you had, you were talking to someone and they were having trouble determining what that gift was, what questions would you ask them to help them identify that gift?
- 1:22:45[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, do I mean, can we like work shop a little bit?
- 1:22:47[SPEAKER_05]: Sure.
- 1:22:48[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, wait.
- 1:22:49[SPEAKER_05]: So, if I asked you to step on this stage and give a 15 minute talk about something, what would it be?
- 1:22:56[SPEAKER_08]: Um, a couple things that's maybe one of the distractions is like I have a lot of things so so I I specialize in co-opons and I specialize in helping coaches communicate clearly to their clients I mean to the contractors specifically.
- 1:23:11[SPEAKER_08]: Let's stick with those two.
- 1:23:12[SPEAKER_05]: So you're a co-ass porn specialists and you help
- 1:23:17[SPEAKER_08]: Well, so I build, I build low maintenance water features for people that there for people and coi and water features to hit so that people can relax in their backyard.
- 1:23:25[SPEAKER_08]: Right.
- 1:23:25[SPEAKER_08]: So that's my specialty.
- 1:23:26[SPEAKER_08]: But I've been doing it for 25 years and so now I'm helping other contractors are like, how did you get this far?
- 1:23:31[SPEAKER_08]: How can you help me get that far as well?
- 1:23:34[SPEAKER_08]: And so I have a hard time helping those contractors identify their strengths.
- 1:23:38[SPEAKER_05]: So that's absolutely, but dude, you're in sales.
- 1:23:44[SPEAKER_05]: You help, like, you help other people increase their overall value for what they're installing.
- 1:23:52[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 1:23:52[SPEAKER_05]: So if I do what you do and I want to make more money, I go to you.
- 1:23:57[SPEAKER_05]: You should be charging me at minimum $5,000 an hour to share what you've learned and what you know.
- 1:24:04[SPEAKER_05]: And better yet, if we could put this into a four to six step framework of what you need to do and who you need to
- 1:24:14[SPEAKER_05]: have somebody sell them into a high ticket program like $2,000, they go to the program and then once a week you go in and you answer questions.
- 1:24:21[SPEAKER_05]: You help co-op on specialist increase their ticket value by 3x.
- 1:24:27[SPEAKER_05]: The transformation is not just the ticket value, it's who they become in the process.
- 1:24:32[SPEAKER_05]: because many times people have a hard time charging people for more because they have a a system of self-belief.
- 1:24:36[SPEAKER_05]: So part of your curriculum is going to be part belief and then part this is the things that you have to do.
- 1:24:41[SPEAKER_05]: And then when they get a result and they get a high ticket value, they come back and be like, this guy's the man.
- 1:24:45[SPEAKER_08]: The problem is I think, you know, it's helping that I feel like I have to become a psychologist because I have to break their mindset as they come through the road.
- 1:24:52[SPEAKER_05]: Welcome to the club, bro.
- 1:24:54[SPEAKER_05]: And that's it.
- 1:24:55[SPEAKER_08]: I know, I know.
- 1:24:56[SPEAKER_08]: Thank you very much.
- 1:24:57[SPEAKER_05]: And I would encourage you.
- 1:24:58[SPEAKER_05]: I would encourage you to go through and start reading just very basic cursory psychology, mindset, personal development books.
- 1:25:06[SPEAKER_05]: Because what you'll do is you'll go through a proven book in a framework.
- 1:25:10[SPEAKER_05]: And the average coisement, coi-ponspecialists will not be able to digest the way that you will, but you're evolved.
- 1:25:15[SPEAKER_05]: I can immediately tell you, you're vibrating, brother, like you have a deep care, and you have a deep skill set.
- 1:25:20[SPEAKER_05]: Now what you can do is you can get somebody else's framework in citation.
- 1:25:22[SPEAKER_05]: Hey, this framework is from Dr. X, but now it's going to put it here for coi-ponspecialists.
- 1:25:27[SPEAKER_05]: This is who you need to be.
- 1:25:28[SPEAKER_05]: This is how you need to act.
- 1:25:28[SPEAKER_05]: This is who you need to become.
- 1:25:30[SPEAKER_05]: But I even said it like 30 minutes ago.
- 1:25:33[SPEAKER_05]: We got to break the frame of somebody who thinks that they can believe that they can get consistent 10k months.
- 1:25:36[SPEAKER_05]: That's half the battle.
- 1:25:38[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 1:25:39[SPEAKER_05]: Thank you.
- 1:25:39[SPEAKER_09]: You're welcome.
- 1:25:40[SPEAKER_09]: Come on.
- 1:25:40[SPEAKER_05]: Thank you.
- 1:25:43[SPEAKER_09]: Hello.
- 1:25:43[SPEAKER_09]: Hello.
- 1:25:44[SPEAKER_09]: Hello.
- 1:25:45[SPEAKER_09]: Hello.
- 1:25:45[SPEAKER_09]: So kind of a loaded question to a degree.
- 1:25:48[SPEAKER_09]: So comments you said earlier was about long jumping over yourself.
- 1:25:52[SPEAKER_09]: Like you basically have developed a skill.
- 1:25:54[SPEAKER_09]: So first question being how did you develop that?
- 1:25:57[SPEAKER_09]: Because I feel like myself and other entrepreneurs we kind of get stuck in our own way
- 1:26:01[SPEAKER_09]: of overthinking, over analyzing, and I love the way you said it.
- 1:26:04[SPEAKER_09]: You've not only jumped over, you loved long jump to complete it, so that's the first one.
- 1:26:09[SPEAKER_09]: And if I recall, you say you screenshot comments from like haters, stuff like that, that's like the opposite of what most people, you know, most people kind of run from that stuff.
- 1:26:17[SPEAKER_09]: You're like embracing its screenshot and putting it in a folder.
- 1:26:20[SPEAKER_09]: Just walk us through a little bit of the thought process to get to where you're at with those two statements.
- 1:26:25[SPEAKER_05]: Well, first and foremost, it's embarrassing.
- 1:26:26[SPEAKER_05]: I'm petty.
- 1:26:27[SPEAKER_05]: I'm petty.
- 1:26:29[SPEAKER_05]: I don't forget.
- 1:26:29[SPEAKER_05]: I don't forget.
- 1:26:31[SPEAKER_05]: Now, the ones that hurt, I say, thank you, I'm gonna change.
- 1:26:34[SPEAKER_05]: Because that kernel of truth, that one's son.
- 1:26:37[SPEAKER_05]: Give me once.
- 1:26:38[SPEAKER_05]: Give me twice.
- 1:26:39[SPEAKER_05]: Not gonna happen.
- 1:26:40[SPEAKER_05]: Now, the other ones, sometimes I'll just open it up.
- 1:26:43[SPEAKER_05]: I'll be like, your dad should go back to Mexico.
- 1:26:46[SPEAKER_05]: Well, he here now, and he fought for you all freedom to say that.
- 1:26:50[SPEAKER_05]: You know, about my, my, my looks.
- 1:26:53[SPEAKER_05]: People will go after where they think you're a killies.
- 1:26:55[SPEAKER_05]: He'll, will be.
- 1:26:57[SPEAKER_05]: And I'm like, you see, I don't care that you think I look like a man, because I got a man.
- 1:27:03[SPEAKER_05]: And my man has Bible goggles.
- 1:27:05[SPEAKER_05]: He thinks I'm fine, is all get out.
- 1:27:07[SPEAKER_05]: Nobody's gotta think I'm cute.
- 1:27:09[SPEAKER_05]: He's done, he's done drink the cool aid.
- 1:27:11[SPEAKER_05]: And if he thinks I'm good, and baby girl thinks I'm good, I don't care what you think about me.
- 1:27:16[SPEAKER_05]: I just don't care.
- 1:27:17[SPEAKER_05]: And nobody better than me is talking trash about me.
- 1:27:22[SPEAKER_05]: uh... the the the first part is how did i develop the skill of long-jumping i always hear people say you got to do the work you got to do the work and i was like the work i can do the rest of work like what is the work time of the work is out i'll do it and first and foremost it's going to be an openness of saying i am willing to face the demons in my closet
- 1:27:41[SPEAKER_05]: I'm willing to own that I have a lot of stuff to work through.
- 1:27:44[SPEAKER_05]: I started working with a therapist when I didn't necessarily feel like I had anything to go through because I was like people say about doing the work but like I wanted to work what does that even mean and be careful what you ask for.
- 1:27:54[SPEAKER_05]: It's having conversations with parents.
- 1:27:59[SPEAKER_05]: It's asking and demanding answers.
- 1:28:01[SPEAKER_05]: that betray somebody's trust.
- 1:28:04[SPEAKER_05]: And then you have to uncouple what that means because what we have is a subconscious belief and story that has been programs since we were about seven years old.
- 1:28:11[SPEAKER_05]: So my beliefs about money, my beliefs about relationships, my belief with trust, my belief with who's gonna hurt me.
- 1:28:16[SPEAKER_05]: I would walk, I was my own bottleneck to my own expansion because I would walk around and be like, you're gonna hurt me, you're gonna screw me over.
- 1:28:24[SPEAKER_05]: And for years I did this and I didn't start understanding where did I develop this?
- 1:28:27[SPEAKER_05]: The minute I start unpacking that, I have to forgive people who are no longer in my life.
- 1:28:32[SPEAKER_05]: I have to apologize to that little girl who was so hurt beyond what I thought was repair.
- 1:28:38[SPEAKER_05]: I have to have conversations and reconciliation and then I have to choose to accept that people in my life who I felt deeply hurt me and still want to apologize.
- 1:28:47[SPEAKER_05]: And when you start looking at yourself through that lens and say, I accept the terms of this relationship, even if it's unhealthy or even I'm going to end it because it's no longer healthy.
- 1:28:57[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, that's good.
- 1:28:57[SPEAKER_05]: That sort of opening me up for big jumps.
- 1:28:59[SPEAKER_05]: I began to trust myself.
- 1:29:01[SPEAKER_05]: And whenever I'll hear a narrative of like, oh, the money's going to go away.
- 1:29:04[SPEAKER_05]: Don't waste the money.
- 1:29:04[SPEAKER_05]: I was like,
- 1:29:05[SPEAKER_05]: always the little girl saw her parents lose their house and cut up their credit cards.
- 1:29:10[SPEAKER_05]: She's okay.
- 1:29:12[SPEAKER_05]: She's okay.
- 1:29:13[SPEAKER_05]: Make the decision.
- 1:29:14[SPEAKER_05]: So it was really uncoupling what was happening in the past and the stories were in my mind.
- 1:29:17[SPEAKER_05]: And so now I look at something and I'm like, I wake up every day, like just yesterday morning, the day like 020 to our big.
- 1:29:25[SPEAKER_05]: This is like our Super Bowl.
- 1:29:27[SPEAKER_05]: And then something came in from the business and taught me sideways.
- 1:29:29[SPEAKER_05]: And I was like, oh my gosh, did it did it?
- 1:29:31[SPEAKER_05]: And I was like,
- 1:29:33[SPEAKER_05]: That's old you, that's the push you, the pull you is, who here in this organization is going to step up?
- 1:29:40[SPEAKER_05]: Because you see, I'm out of this.
- 1:29:42[SPEAKER_05]: And who here is going to be the next level leader and version because I'm learning.
- 1:29:48[SPEAKER_05]: jump yourself.
- 1:29:50[SPEAKER_05]: You are not everybody's problem solver anymore.
- 1:29:52[SPEAKER_05]: As a child, I was the eldest of five children in the immigrant family and the story I told myself is you will be responsible.
- 1:29:58[SPEAKER_05]: My mom was very sick all the time, so I was responsible so I took over responsibility within a team.
- 1:30:03[SPEAKER_05]: It wasn't until you do the work that you're like, why am I doing this?
- 1:30:06[SPEAKER_05]: It doesn't serve anybody.
- 1:30:08[SPEAKER_05]: And so long jumping comes from looking from the inside out, addressing what needs to be changed, and then learning how to trust yourself and separate yourself from the old stories and then step into the new story.
- 1:30:19[SPEAKER_09]: That's beautiful.
- 1:30:20[SPEAKER_09]: Thank you so much.
- 1:30:20[SPEAKER_09]: I appreciate that.
- 1:30:21[SPEAKER_05]: Thank you.
- 1:30:22[SPEAKER_05]: Thank you.
- 1:30:23[SPEAKER_10]: Well, last last question.
- 1:30:25[SPEAKER_10]: Sorry, my, my guy.
- 1:30:27[SPEAKER_10]: What?
- 1:30:28[SPEAKER_10]: Yeah.
- 1:30:29[SPEAKER_10]: No, no.
- 1:30:30[SPEAKER_10]: I feel like we got two minutes.
- 1:30:31[SPEAKER_10]: Okay.
- 1:30:33[SPEAKER_03]: I love how as an A figure entrepreneur, you talk about how success is really a product of a graveyard of failures.
- 1:30:42[SPEAKER_03]: So how would you, what advice would you have for people that are in a season of failing forward?
- 1:30:49[SPEAKER_03]: How do they keep the face when they have no evidence to show that they're going to be successful?
- 1:30:56[SPEAKER_05]: Number one, I have been there more times than I can count.
- 1:31:00[SPEAKER_05]: And if you asked any other entrepreneur and they were being honest with you, they would say that they have traversed multiple graveyards of lessons and failures.
- 1:31:09[SPEAKER_05]: The question becomes, if you deeply believe that you have been called to serve a specific person in a specific way, and you release the attachments of what it's supposed to look like.
- 1:31:22[SPEAKER_05]: than you will be moving closer to your success.
- 1:31:26[SPEAKER_05]: Oftentimes people think that if 10 people bought, then I'm a success, maybe if one person bought, you're a success.
- 1:31:31[SPEAKER_05]: And what are you gonna do with that one person?
- 1:31:33[SPEAKER_05]: How do you turn that one into 500 into 500,000?
- 1:31:37[SPEAKER_05]: It begins with one.
- 1:31:38[SPEAKER_05]: And so first and foremost, how do you walk through a graveyard by being called by the vision that has been put inside you?
- 1:31:44[SPEAKER_05]: And then releasing what success has been defined by others and you asking yourself, what is success for me?
- 1:31:50[SPEAKER_05]: Truly.
- 1:31:51[SPEAKER_05]: Truly, what do you need to believe that you can accomplish what you've been put here to do?
- 1:31:56[SPEAKER_05]: If it's one person, say it's one person, and also say I would like ten.
- 1:32:01[SPEAKER_05]: But let's keep the real thing, the real thing.
- 1:32:02[SPEAKER_05]: If people will say, well, if I sold six, and they only sold four, then it's a failure.
- 1:32:07[SPEAKER_05]: That is four X, anything you've ever done in the past.
- 1:32:11[SPEAKER_05]: So how about we just celebrate that and say, what are we going to learn?
- 1:32:13[SPEAKER_05]: How are we going to get better and how are we going to do this again in double it?
- 1:32:17[SPEAKER_05]: Thank you.
- 1:32:17[SPEAKER_02]: So good.
- 1:32:18[SPEAKER_02]: Come on.
- 1:32:18[SPEAKER_05]: Thank you.
- 1:32:20[SPEAKER_05]: Thank you for the questions.
- 1:32:21[SPEAKER_05]: It's awesome.
- 1:32:22[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, so there's some questions.
- 1:32:24[SPEAKER_02]: Let's give it up for Jasmine's star.
- 1:32:26[SPEAKER_02]: Come on.
- 1:32:27[SPEAKER_02]: Get up on your feet.
- 1:32:27[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much.
- 1:32:29[SPEAKER_02]: You're the bond.
- 1:32:29[SPEAKER_05]: Thank you, Omar.
