- 1:07Speaker 3: the good boys and girls chunks if they've been good
- 1:12Speaker 3: little boys and girls? I've been very good. But Choda,
- 1:19Speaker 3: if you were a Choda hazard, what would you bring
- 1:22Speaker 3: all the good boys and girls? Hmm? I would bring
- 1:29Speaker 3: all the good boys and girls ember skies and gross.
- 1:37Speaker 3: I would bring all the bad boys and girls. A
- 1:40Speaker 3: bad omen A bad omen is that the name of
- 1:45Speaker 3: the worst. Is that the name of it. The worst prophecy,
- 1:53Speaker 3: that's the worst prophecy. That's the one where it's like
- 1:55Speaker 3: exactly six, right, is that what you're going with?
- 1:58Speaker 4: Ye?
- 1:58Speaker 3: Just bad omen, not a bad omen, just bad omen.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Is that the worst?
- 2:01Speaker 3: Though? It's pretty bad?
- 2:04Speaker 2: I mean, destroyed three creatures might.
- 2:07Speaker 4: Be as bad.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Bad.
- 2:10Speaker 4: Yeah, bad omen is at the end of your opponent's
- 2:13Speaker 4: turn if they have exactly I've never seen bad omen. Uh,
- 2:19Speaker 4: I have seen a trigger mm hmm yeah, I mean,
- 2:25Speaker 4: and so that's at least once.
- 2:29Speaker 3: M I was going to send this could happen. So
- 2:35Speaker 3: I'm scrolling Facebook because I look.
- 2:38Speaker 4: At uh we have literally been on thirty seconds.
- 2:42Speaker 3: I know, I I well, when I scroll, I scroll
- 2:47Speaker 3: for questionable uh Facebook uh boobs, and I've scrolled past
- 2:57Speaker 3: your Yeah, I think it's a step up from classy.
- 3:02Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't know. I don't think so
- 3:08Speaker 3: questionable Facebook boobs.
- 3:12Speaker 2: I mean you can just find that on Reddit. That's
- 3:14Speaker 2: a subreddit.
- 3:15Speaker 3: Oh wait, questionable Facebook boobs is a subreddit. I don't
- 3:20Speaker 3: know it's called that, but it's is. It's just called
- 3:22Speaker 3: questionable titties.
- 3:24Speaker 4: All right, to refocus here, The end is the prof
- 3:28Speaker 4: was the Prophecy were talking about during your opponents, more
- 3:31Speaker 4: creatures have been destroyed, this turn fulfilled. The end is
- 3:34Speaker 4: nigh and I have not seen that trigger.
- 3:39Speaker 3: I have something way cooler. So I was scrolling through
- 3:41Speaker 3: and I found a lego set for the Rush. It's
- 3:45Speaker 3: a semi for Rush the band. It's the Rush Tour semi.
- 3:50Speaker 3: And I was going to send it to Marcus, and
- 3:52Speaker 3: then I looked and I already see Marcus liked it.
- 3:58Speaker 3: That's how that tied into the key four.
- 4:02Speaker 4: M.
- 4:04Speaker 3: If Marcus likes it, it's it's a Keyford thing. Is
- 4:06Speaker 3: that what we're saying? Well, I mean Marcus is a
- 4:09Speaker 3: judge in KeyForge, and that's how I know Marcus and
- 4:16Speaker 3: or he judges. He likes Rush and I like Rush.
- 4:23Speaker 3: He's going to like five other days this year that
- 4:26Speaker 3: he spent an arm and a leg which is crazy.
- 4:29Speaker 3: I don't know what he really spent, but I know
- 4:32Speaker 3: they were expensive, and I was a tiny bit jealous.
- 4:36Speaker 3: But it is neches Eve. So put out plus one
- 4:41Speaker 3: power counters for Chota Hazari.
- 4:44Speaker 4: Do you know what you should not put out? If
- 4:47Speaker 4: you were if you were looking at the bottom fifteen
- 4:50Speaker 4: decks and d ok, they all have one thing in common.
- 4:53Speaker 4: For sas wuys all statement, it's the it's the bottom
- 5:01Speaker 4: fifteen of PV. Okay, they're all PV okay, really they are.
- 5:06Speaker 4: They all have bad what are the bottom of the
- 5:09Speaker 4: end is I they do not have the same prophecies.
- 5:12Speaker 3: No, oh, they all all have untamed.
- 5:19Speaker 4: They do not all have untamed, and they do not
- 5:21Speaker 4: all have burnished nickels, cheap guesemption. They all have redemption.
- 5:29Speaker 4: The bottom fifteen necks all have retemption. It all right,
- 5:33Speaker 4: So don't don't leave that out for chod has.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Do you think they look at this and they're like, oh,
- 5:38Speaker 3: maybe we should do something about it.
- 5:41Speaker 2: No, yeah, more redemption to bring the power level down,
- 5:45Speaker 2: because that's how you putting more bad guards.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Is that the goal? Are They like? Oh man, PV
- 5:52Speaker 3: too good. So let's make a set where we exhaust
- 5:56Speaker 3: everything that won't that won't ruin the is that'll that'll
- 6:01Speaker 3: fix ask again later. Well, you're blowing it down. The
- 6:05Speaker 3: problem is releasing a junk set. Fix is nothing because
- 6:10Speaker 3: people will just go play PV. It's quick draw happy.
- 6:15Speaker 3: There you go. Well, I don't know, I mean I
- 6:18Speaker 3: so I was talking a quick draw at KFC and
- 6:24Speaker 3: you know what the with the action that was going
- 6:27Speaker 3: on with the sleepy dragons. I was like, so are
- 6:30Speaker 3: you are you like down with this? Are you like
- 6:33Speaker 3: this is amazing? And he was sort of like meh, So,
- 6:37Speaker 3: I mean, I don't I don't understand what he likes.
- 6:39Speaker 3: I guess, but he wasn't like he wasn't. I mean,
- 6:44Speaker 3: he wasn't hating on but he wasn't. He's like me,
- 6:48Speaker 3: he doesn't like anything. Yeah, maybe maybe that could be
- 6:53Speaker 3: he likes.
- 6:54Speaker 4: I mean, I'm gonna go ahead and say I like
- 6:59Speaker 4: playing Draconian measures this week. That was fun, so my
- 7:04Speaker 4: measures our locals. Yeah, we went ahead him play sealed
- 7:11Speaker 4: and I had some amber skies and Sheep brought out
- 7:14Speaker 4: his his his sleepy dragons, and that game was done
- 7:18Speaker 4: real fast, so fast that I said, yeah, let me
- 7:21Speaker 4: try that deck and you can take my think.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Your sleepy dragons that were actually sleepy.
- 7:28Speaker 4: Yeah, they were very, very sleepy. And you know, his
- 7:30Speaker 4: deck was actually a lot of fun. So it did
- 7:33Speaker 4: actually bring some excitement. I am excited to be able
- 7:35Speaker 4: to try some decks that you guys big change for
- 7:39Speaker 4: who got to play it in game three. Nope, we
- 7:44Speaker 4: just moved on, and Sheep was like, yeah, I'd never
- 7:47Speaker 4: need to play your deck again.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Something, but I wish I had it. They didn't think
- 7:54Speaker 3: I had enough.
- 7:56Speaker 4: I did. I tried to give that too too, and
- 7:59Speaker 4: that's on you.
- 7:59Speaker 3: Man.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Well, I was thinking about people having to play it,
- 8:03Speaker 2: and like Arcan, I wasn't thinking about needing something terrible
- 8:07Speaker 2: for reversal.
- 8:09Speaker 3: I mean, but are you speaking of formats.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Somebody challenges me to reversal and I have to check
- 8:18Speaker 2: a box.
- 8:20Speaker 4: Don't you still have your reversal? You actually had a
- 8:23Speaker 4: decent reversal back now.
- 8:24Speaker 2: I've traded that.
- 8:25Speaker 3: He doesn't. He doesn't. I was getting about that, actually,
- 8:29Speaker 3: mm that.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Somebody really wanted it, and I said they will get
- 8:34Speaker 2: more joy of it from me. And I'm pretty sure
- 8:37Speaker 2: I got the assholes and clowns picture out of it.
- 8:42Speaker 3: So Mark wanted it. Yep got it. Okay, you traded,
- 8:47Speaker 3: You traded the deck for assholes. He got more enjoyment
- 8:51Speaker 3: of a clown mooning everyone than that I.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Was going to get out of that miserable experience.
- 8:58Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, but speaking of formats, we do have this
- 9:04Speaker 3: bothers me. The glorious tradition. Come on, guys, it's but
- 9:06Speaker 3: you've done this twice. Is it glorious at this point? Yeah?
- 9:10Speaker 4: I uh yeah yeah.
- 9:14Speaker 3: When they when they selected that, Now, I am not
- 9:20Speaker 3: that I would have come up with anything better, but
- 9:22Speaker 3: you know, I would have told him that was a
- 9:23Speaker 3: questionable one. I would have said Necho ever more, because
- 9:30Speaker 3: you get like, this is Necho. It's like Necho one
- 9:35Speaker 3: plus one. Now it's Necho to. Now it's two power creature.
- 9:42Speaker 2: It's going to be when it's Neo eleven.
- 9:45Speaker 3: Well, then then it's glorious at that point. Now it's
- 9:48Speaker 3: glorious because it's then right right yep, because we only
- 9:53Speaker 3: use Roman numerals.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Now we'll switch that out, just keep it confusing.
- 9:58Speaker 3: Sorry and numerals. Thanks, ay, and you're welcome. But we
- 10:03Speaker 3: got sixteen formats, which okay, so we got two of
- 10:06Speaker 3: you going one. Are you guys looking forward to the most?
- 10:10Speaker 2: I'm really okay, but I haven't been to this. So
- 10:14Speaker 2: my understanding is we get like a four by four
- 10:18Speaker 2: grid card and we're basically playing bingo, but it's gonna
- 10:20Speaker 2: have a bunch of these questionable formats, which my time
- 10:26Speaker 2: was going to discuss the questionable formats that we have
- 10:29Speaker 2: to play in ABR, and my team asked me to rank,
- 10:33Speaker 2: like you're supposed to rank the formats between one and
- 10:36Speaker 2: twelve on what you wanted to play, right, and they
- 10:38Speaker 2: were going to assign it based off of that. And
- 10:40Speaker 2: I went through the ABR formats and I handed out
- 10:44Speaker 2: seven twelves and eleven some stixes and and I put
- 10:51Speaker 2: a one somewhere. But it was basically like, we'll not play,
- 10:55Speaker 2: we'll not play, we'll not play, we'll not play, we'll
- 10:57Speaker 2: not play.
- 10:58Speaker 3: So what are you? Was the one seed.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Alliance? Yes, that one, because somebody already had uh sealed
- 11:09Speaker 2: ARCon as their one, so I didn't want to trump
- 11:12Speaker 2: them having no one there, So I took a one
- 11:14Speaker 2: in a column nobody had it one yet, and then
- 11:16Speaker 2: they gave me exchange.
- 11:19Speaker 3: The why'd you put that as a six?
- 11:23Speaker 2: Because it was a format I would play, like if
- 11:27Speaker 2: forced I would play, you came. Yeah, but it did
- 11:32Speaker 2: come to me where I'm like anything with the daft
- 11:35Speaker 2: of it, you know, I don't want to do it.
- 11:37Speaker 2: But even like, I didn't even want to put my
- 11:39Speaker 2: name on playing regular ARCon because I'm not to compete
- 11:46Speaker 2: in p v arc on. I mean, I i'd have
- 11:49Speaker 2: to borrow a dec I could play it just fine,
- 11:51Speaker 2: but I'm just like, I'm not I'm not going to
- 11:54Speaker 2: practice for it, and I'm not going to enjoy it,
- 11:57Speaker 2: so I don't want.
- 11:58Speaker 3: To do it. Doesn't doesn't sound like a winning combination.
- 12:01Speaker 2: Right, And that's just kind of like I was looking
- 12:04Speaker 2: across all the formats for ABR and I'm just like,
- 12:07Speaker 2: there is something going on here when I'm just like two,
- 12:11Speaker 2: there there are very few formats that are traditional, right,
- 12:18Speaker 2: And it's just like all this stuff we have to
- 12:22Speaker 2: put on top of key forge to bake reasonable even
- 12:25Speaker 2: matches is is interesting. And I know people thought that
- 12:29Speaker 2: was bad pre WHOA, because that's when a lot of
- 12:32Speaker 2: these formats were designed. And at that point I was like,
- 12:34Speaker 2: we don't need all this, It's still fine, right Like
- 12:37Speaker 2: I thought, well, I still fine then, and now I'm
- 12:40Speaker 2: with them. I'm like, I think our gun is a
- 12:43Speaker 2: dumpster heap. I have almost seriously playing it.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean pre Road, the problem was just the
- 12:52Speaker 3: pandemic and the algorithm breaking and we would.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Just just need it more to do.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Yeah. We were just like, well, we can play our
- 13:00Speaker 3: MM decks the same MM deex so many times right,
- 13:04Speaker 3: without spicing it up a little bit, right.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Well, they're they're always been a big component of people
- 13:10Speaker 2: like over on Santamorious that we're always trying to develop
- 13:13Speaker 2: fair shoremats and that's where there's more rye and exchange
- 13:18Speaker 2: and all that stuff came out of that.
- 13:20Speaker 4: Yeah, but here's where my issue is, Like Key Fortress
- 13:24Speaker 4: never intended to be fair or equitable, and so I
- 13:31Speaker 4: love that there's different. I love that there's assets to play.
- 13:35Speaker 4: It's just it's not intended to be fair.
- 13:38Speaker 2: But I don't know. I don't find Arkhan as enjoyable
- 13:40Speaker 2: as I used.
- 13:40Speaker 3: To, but I also is so so she bought a
- 13:47Speaker 3: bought fraud and got used to just kicking people's teeth in.
- 13:51Speaker 3: I never get those teeth in. And now that sheep's
- 13:54Speaker 3: getting his teeth kicked and he's a little upset. Now.
- 13:58Speaker 2: We have gone over this any times, and that has
- 14:01Speaker 2: never been a problem for me. Thank you?
- 14:04Speaker 3: Are you sure? Yes? Seems like that's a problem.
- 14:09Speaker 2: It's not a problem, Okay, it's just the I don't
- 14:12Speaker 2: know that the game's just they don't seem as fun.
- 14:14Speaker 2: And like you said this, I also don't want to
- 14:17Speaker 2: play a game where I have to put a game
- 14:20Speaker 2: on top of it to be able to play the
- 14:21Speaker 2: game I actually wanted to play.
- 14:23Speaker 3: They do seem extraordinarily more grindy and mentally texting what
- 14:30Speaker 3: you're saying PEV. Yeah, the addition of PV because I
- 14:37Speaker 3: because you are you literally are playing a mini game
- 14:40Speaker 3: within a game that's going to determine whether you get
- 14:43Speaker 3: the game you're sitting down to actually play or not.
- 14:46Speaker 4: There's there's a lot of difference.
- 14:47Speaker 3: It's a little bit like the opposite a little bit
- 14:49Speaker 3: because I'm like, well, if he's got this card under there,
- 14:52Speaker 3: then I'm just screwed. So I don't know, do I
- 14:55Speaker 3: trigger it? Do I not trigger it?
- 14:56Speaker 4: No?
- 14:56Speaker 3: You you you have the and that's not the Munchhounds.
- 15:00Speaker 3: What is it? You have the you uh, you have
- 15:03Speaker 3: the Stockholm syndrome. You've like accepted your captors. You know
- 15:08Speaker 3: you're not accepting your captor and you're just like, okay,
- 15:11Speaker 3: definitely where I am on op Like, I'm like, this
- 15:14Speaker 3: is what we're getting. Okay, you said it best on
- 15:18Speaker 3: Tuesday when we all got together. You're like, this is
- 15:20Speaker 3: the level of effort they're willing to put in, and
- 15:23Speaker 3: they're okay with the return they're getting from it.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Yes, you know just what.
- 15:29Speaker 3: They're just waiting for echoes of omens so they can
- 15:31Speaker 3: be like, oh, key Fords, just stay cutting it anymore, guys, I.
- 15:35Speaker 4: Don't think echoes all probably not going to cut it, so,
- 15:40Speaker 4: which actually could be a.
- 15:41Speaker 3: Problem right before it gets produced. Yeah, no, they'll make it.
- 15:47Speaker 2: Okay, but we're we're here. We're going to talk about
- 15:50Speaker 2: glorious traditions. Neka, well whatever we're going to we're going
- 15:54Speaker 2: to talk about Sweet sixteen, right, which is also a
- 15:56Speaker 2: pile of formats.
- 15:58Speaker 4: You don't want to go down that rabbit an of them.
- 16:01Speaker 2: So, but the way this goes is right, dress score
- 16:04Speaker 2: is just like when you're not playing your core game,
- 16:07Speaker 2: except you can check off Crucible Clash as a free
- 16:10Speaker 2: spot right for playing basically sealed.
- 16:14Speaker 3: If you're playing in the main tournament, you sealed as
- 16:17Speaker 3: your free spot.
- 16:18Speaker 2: But all these other ones you just find.
- 16:20Speaker 3: Somebody says that's additional spot, that's an addition to So
- 16:27Speaker 3: when you and I understood that.
- 16:32Speaker 2: I get to check off the box whether I win
- 16:34Speaker 2: or lose, correct.
- 16:37Speaker 4: I.
- 16:39Speaker 3: Believe, so I actually don't remember. Yeah, that sounds like
- 16:44Speaker 3: it's rife for somebody just being like, hey, you want
- 16:48Speaker 3: to play Shutter and I can see it. I'll see you.
- 16:52Speaker 3: Can you here?
- 16:55Speaker 4: So I mean you're missing, You're missing this, You're missing.
- 16:59Speaker 2: In good faith.
- 17:00Speaker 3: Fine, it's about spirit. This is about winning.
- 17:03Speaker 4: It's not about winning. It's honestly, it's a fan made event,
- 17:07Speaker 4: which is amazing.
- 17:08Speaker 3: Just like keep saying if you ain't cheating, you ain't trying.
- 17:12Speaker 2: Wow, I'm certainly. I am certainly saying that is true.
- 17:15Speaker 2: And ah, I do have some plans.
- 17:21Speaker 4: To cheat.
- 17:25Speaker 3: So if you're about make sure paying attention. Just like
- 17:32Speaker 3: Sheep's phantom key, this takes This is battle Fleet on
- 17:36Speaker 3: the back of a card.
- 17:40Speaker 4: This, This is true. Technically there was an archon card
- 17:43Speaker 4: that was replacing a bubbles in our match this week,
- 17:47Speaker 4: so it is not out of the question. Let's be
- 17:49Speaker 4: very honest.
- 17:50Speaker 3: It was a reminder card first off, yes.
- 17:53Speaker 4: Sorry, a reminder card. And if we could play with
- 17:55Speaker 4: a reminder card and quarters and nickels and dimes, trust me,
- 17:58Speaker 4: we can slot in.
- 18:00Speaker 3: And I'm pretty sure she forged a phantom key on
- 18:03Speaker 3: me and just said yeah, I already had that, and
- 18:06Speaker 3: I just you can't pay attention and keep track of
- 18:09Speaker 3: game state is not my fault. I just started playing
- 18:13Speaker 3: with this thing that was on the board. I'm like,
- 18:15Speaker 3: what's this And that was when I said this is
- 18:19Speaker 3: my key and no, you did not. I just put
- 18:21Speaker 3: it back and I didn't think anything of it. And
- 18:23Speaker 3: that's my third key. That's not true at all. That
- 18:29Speaker 3: is my third key. And I win and I was like,
- 18:31Speaker 3: where did you get the first key? He's like, that's
- 18:33Speaker 3: what this is and I'm like what that just showed up?
- 18:36Speaker 3: Like that's who I remember this.
- 18:38Speaker 2: When I forged the key. I forged the multi colored
- 18:44Speaker 2: token somebody gave me. Then I forged the black amber
- 18:46Speaker 2: token somebody gave me. And you don't need a third
- 18:49Speaker 2: key because you'll want.
- 18:52Speaker 3: It's a long story. Short pay attention when you're I
- 18:55Speaker 3: didn't think I needed to pay that close attention to sheep.
- 18:58Speaker 3: I thought it was just mister effect.
- 19:00Speaker 2: But now I got to pay attention to short story
- 19:02Speaker 2: long you can cheat against what he because he has
- 19:05Speaker 2: no idea what's going on?
- 19:06Speaker 3: Ever? Is that worth is? Is that? Is that fruit
- 19:10Speaker 3: worth the squeeze? Maybe that's it? Was not that day?
- 19:17Speaker 3: That day was you legitimately got your butt kicked?
- 19:20Speaker 4: No? Yeah, no, you went in three man, we haven't
- 19:23Speaker 4: seen you in a while, and you went on three
- 19:25Speaker 4: like that. That doesn't happen too often.
- 19:28Speaker 3: No, I got uh. I bought the last two g
- 19:31Speaker 3: R decks and they were do do kaka, thank you,
- 19:36Speaker 3: untamed as it is traditionally, do do kaka lately and uh, yeah,
- 19:43Speaker 3: I had a dead house in each deck and either
- 19:46Speaker 3: of them coumbled off into anything or did much of anything.
- 19:48Speaker 3: I mean they did things that was about it, like
- 19:53Speaker 3: they had no they didn't have a wind condition. They're
- 19:55Speaker 3: just like we can do some stuff that was about it. Yeah.
- 20:01Speaker 2: They have two different adaptive formats for this weekend, where
- 20:06Speaker 2: I see adaptive and sealed adaptive.
- 20:09Speaker 3: Oh I missed the sealed one, so what I have?
- 20:14Speaker 4: What do you do?
- 20:14Speaker 3: And seal adaptive? Hold on, I have to look this up.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Sealed adaptive as you look at that short adaptive right, No,
- 20:22Speaker 2: even even regular adaptive is best of one or short
- 20:27Speaker 2: sealed adaptive is you don't look at the deck list.
- 20:29Speaker 3: You big chains based off of houses. That was the
- 20:31Speaker 3: traditional way. This says so mm hmmm, same process as
- 20:39Speaker 3: regular adaptive format described above, with the deck choice restrictions
- 20:43Speaker 3: of sealed.
- 20:45Speaker 2: So you're just desidio.
- 20:47Speaker 3: Okay, whatever, but.
- 20:49Speaker 4: Do you do you look at your deck and you
- 20:51Speaker 4: and your.
- 20:53Speaker 2: List, and then similar reveal which deck you would like
- 20:55Speaker 2: to do. But instead of being able to pick what
- 20:57Speaker 2: deck you bring in, you have to use a sealed deck. Okay, whatever,
- 21:03Speaker 2: all right, you do both? Yeah, you do, look at les.
- 21:07Speaker 2: It does not matter. For I have a plan on
- 21:10Speaker 2: adaptive games is I will bring fraud if I can
- 21:16Speaker 2: the willle big fraud chans on fraud, and I will
- 21:19Speaker 2: bid a minimum of forty chains hve and then and
- 21:28Speaker 2: then all I have to do on my turn is
- 21:30Speaker 2: pass and count down by one thirty nine.
- 21:33Speaker 3: Still no cards? Are you not going to play anything either?
- 21:39Speaker 3: I don't have any of My.
- 21:40Speaker 2: Hand's gonna start at zero. I have no cards, so
- 21:46Speaker 2: you until I get.
- 21:50Speaker 4: And then yeah? Yeah, are you having Are you having
- 21:53Speaker 4: fun yet playing adaptive?
- 21:55Speaker 3: I mean, get yourself a HOGI you can, uh, you can?
- 21:59Speaker 3: You can get yourself some grapple. Now that you're hearing,
- 22:02Speaker 3: you can just shout.
- 22:03Speaker 2: I'm going to try to do it like okay, I
- 22:07Speaker 2: tried to get Burry to play a daptu with me
- 22:08Speaker 2: with no cards, or I'm like, you pick your deck, okay,
- 22:11Speaker 2: I'll go pick fraud's or been changed on fraud.
- 22:13Speaker 4: Right.
- 22:13Speaker 2: He's like, oh yeah, I'm like all right, so I've
- 22:15Speaker 2: been forty and I just told him all right, so
- 22:17Speaker 2: I'll go first. I have no cards, thirty nine chains
- 22:19Speaker 2: passco and he's like, uh, I'm like what are you doing?
- 22:23Speaker 3: And he's like, what do you mean? What am I doing?
- 22:24Speaker 2: We'll call your house. Yeah, you just play your deck.
- 22:27Speaker 2: You're just like, oh, I'm gonna start with my onun
- 22:28Speaker 2: tame turning dust, Pixie Dust Pixie, Yeah, natre's called Jodah.
- 22:33Speaker 2: I'll be like, well some of them didn't see that coming.
- 22:38Speaker 2: Well how about that I passed thirty eight changs your turn?
- 22:44Speaker 3: Hoping he plays a guard get to scrapper, It says,
- 22:46Speaker 3: darn' three mber. Yet, like, what I will his deck? Man?
- 22:52Speaker 2: I can't play his deck forim. He has to play
- 22:54Speaker 2: his deck.
- 22:54Speaker 3: Here's here's what I want to happen so bad. If
- 22:57Speaker 3: you are playing sheep in Sealed against fraud, please, I'm sorry,
- 23:05Speaker 3: adaptive against fraud. Please please bring your raptor deck. Please
- 23:15Speaker 3: bring your hast this raptor deck.
- 23:18Speaker 2: As long as you got capture those canna be fraud
- 23:20Speaker 2: for sure.
- 23:22Speaker 4: And just I mean the Aeronauts can actually beat Fraud
- 23:26Speaker 4: there too. You probably get the war Grumps is going too.
- 23:29Speaker 4: I think we could really do this.
- 23:31Speaker 2: Yeah, Fraud's toast alliance.
- 23:33Speaker 3: I'll play.
- 23:34Speaker 2: I'll play Fraud ar Con, I'll play Fraud, Certain Darkness,
- 23:41Speaker 2: play Fraud.
- 23:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:42Speaker 2: Community card games, what.
- 23:44Speaker 3: Do you purge first? Oh? No, you got some good
- 23:47Speaker 3: you got some decent purge targets and fraud?
- 23:49Speaker 2: Do you have to give up three cards in front?
- 23:54Speaker 4: Do you have any of the community cards?
- 23:56Speaker 3: I have a bunch of them.
- 23:57Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, because not a set, but I have a
- 23:59Speaker 4: bunch and that's that they'll be good.
- 24:01Speaker 3: Actually, yeah, ye should I pull them out of my
- 24:05Speaker 3: binder to bring them?
- 24:06Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 24:08Speaker 3: Keymander, by the way, I have no plan. Yeah, you know,
- 24:14Speaker 3: I've never played Keymander. Here's a fun fact. I don't
- 24:18Speaker 3: know how to play Keymander. No, I've never either either.
- 24:22Speaker 2: This might be when I finally play it. But it's
- 24:25Speaker 2: sposed to be like three decks, So I'll play Sealed
- 24:28Speaker 2: Commander where I maybe I only need one.
- 24:29Speaker 3: Week or is it too I thought it was two decks.
- 24:32Speaker 4: I don't know, man, I don't know.
- 24:34Speaker 3: That's probably hold on, it's a oh my gosh, this
- 24:37Speaker 3: is a wallet text. Uh two to five players recommended, Okay,
- 24:48Speaker 3: six house pods pods of each house. You can have
- 24:57Speaker 3: any combination expanses, including illegal spansion such as Nador unchained
- 25:03Speaker 3: or civil war. Okay, choose a Keymander creature. So I
- 25:11Speaker 3: think they have a whole bunch raight. Yeah. Yeah, starts playing,
- 25:18Speaker 3: so it starts playing out of zone or out of
- 25:21Speaker 3: play zone whatever, so you can I guess you fund
- 25:26Speaker 3: him okay, fully funded? Okay, takes up created places under Keymander.
- 25:33Speaker 3: It's fully fund with his two cards, fully funded, Chemo
- 25:36Speaker 3: be played.
- 25:38Speaker 2: This is amazing.
- 25:40Speaker 3: Yeah, I have no idea what.
- 25:43Speaker 2: So you you shuffle six odds together, two of two
- 25:48Speaker 2: of each house, and then there is a card that
- 25:51Speaker 2: you basically perch cards to sort of to keep it running,
- 25:55Speaker 2: and then you play key Ford.
- 25:57Speaker 3: I mean that's I don't know what I was thinking
- 25:59Speaker 3: trying to how to do walk bot without being walk Bot.
- 26:02Speaker 3: Sorry guys, you weren't even reading everything. It's felt like
- 26:05Speaker 3: you were like glossing over, like uh huh yeah, and
- 26:11Speaker 3: how much can you cheat?
- 26:13Speaker 4: Oh?
- 26:13Speaker 2: My goodness, so do I bring fraud and my copy
- 26:18Speaker 2: of Fraud and just shuffle them together to play squared. Okay,
- 26:24Speaker 2: I have a Keymander deck. It's Fraud Squared. It's going
- 26:27Speaker 2: to be really bad, but it's.
- 26:28Speaker 3: What I'm playing. Does it all right? You should you
- 26:31Speaker 3: should bring you should bring a copy of fraud? Does
- 26:34Speaker 3: it say you need to have six unique pods?
- 26:38Speaker 2: Or just not look at the rules too hard?
- 26:41Speaker 3: I mean, this isn't a community event, so okay. And
- 26:47Speaker 3: if I bring two p decks, does that mean I
- 26:49Speaker 3: get four prophecies? You have four? Are you not see
- 26:56Speaker 3: it's saying that you can't have identical pods? Yeah?
- 27:00Speaker 2: Okay, so double fraud? All right, I've got a deck,
- 27:03Speaker 2: all right, reversal is certainly fraud. I just hand him
- 27:09Speaker 2: fraud field. Well we can't.
- 27:12Speaker 3: We got we gotta do sealed shredder. Okay, can you
- 27:16Speaker 3: for seal? For sealed? That's where your your copy comes
- 27:22Speaker 3: into play, right, because then you just put it in
- 27:24Speaker 3: a team bag and then you open and you're like,
- 27:26Speaker 3: oh my god, fraud who knew?
- 27:32Speaker 2: Also put it in a box?
- 27:34Speaker 3: Yeah? There you go? At were you guys? There? I
- 27:40Speaker 3: played at at uh. I think it was a KFC
- 27:47Speaker 3: I opened. Maybe it was a different vault. I opened
- 27:50Speaker 3: a sealed deck for a pod and uh it was bandola,
- 27:57Speaker 3: not the bandola, but it was a bandola. I was like,
- 28:01Speaker 3: I opened a pandola, it must be fantastic and it wasn't. Exactly. Yeah.
- 28:07Speaker 2: Actually, although the jokes fraud for everything, I'm actually bringing
- 28:11Speaker 2: that very same d M deck that I've been pushing
- 28:15Speaker 2: people around at locals with and I'll see how far
- 28:18Speaker 2: I can carry that this weekend.
- 28:19Speaker 4: Well, I mean we are playing sealed against it, specifically.
- 28:23Speaker 2: Amber, so I'm gonna let it play some real games
- 28:26Speaker 2: this weekend.
- 28:26Speaker 3: Okay, okay, yeah, it's it's here again. Is Doctor Sheep
- 28:32Speaker 3: playing his ar conduck versus all the sealed ship.
- 28:36Speaker 2: It's sleepy Dragons. We've determined it can't be ARCon good.
- 28:42Speaker 3: No, there will be. There will be something ARCon good.
- 28:45Speaker 3: I think I think we haven't seen a set that
- 28:47Speaker 3: bad in a while. You gotta go all the way
- 28:51Speaker 3: back to Dark Tidings for a set that bad that
- 28:53Speaker 3: didn't even produce a good art Coon deck. Indeed, Rough
- 29:02Speaker 3: Dragons will produce.
- 29:03Speaker 2: While yeah, so Shredder, which they are going to have
- 29:07Speaker 2: Shredder decks. Although Shredder single game is a little weird
- 29:10Speaker 2: to me.
- 29:13Speaker 3: Oh, it's just more shredding. It sounds like it really
- 29:15Speaker 3: gets crazy when you're three three you want to multiple games.
- 29:20Speaker 2: But yeah, whatever, it's still fun. Tearing up decks and
- 29:22Speaker 2: throwing them away is a good time.
- 29:23Speaker 3: So I'm in for that. I tried and didn't even
- 29:27Speaker 3: tear them up right in the trash.
- 29:30Speaker 2: I gotta I gotta actually pick a try deck.
- 29:33Speaker 1: I don't like that.
- 29:37Speaker 2: Volta Sault, Volta Salt, which I intend to not play.
- 29:43Speaker 2: That's my plan for Voltassault.
- 29:46Speaker 3: Yeah, you could just run fraud. I could. I can
- 29:52Speaker 3: also just not what.
- 29:56Speaker 2: And then there is talk in the community that they're
- 29:58Speaker 2: going to run a ce C with Powers, Vault Assault,
- 30:03Speaker 2: and certain Darkness all at the same time.
- 30:06Speaker 4: All right, you got you guys ready for this? I
- 30:09Speaker 4: got how would you do this?
- 30:10Speaker 3: No, this is even better, So it should be c
- 30:17Speaker 3: C with powers Adaptive. I lost my train of thought, keymander.
- 30:27Speaker 2: Yeah, but you can only check off one box, no
- 30:29Speaker 2: matter how many, how many flavors.
- 30:32Speaker 3: Of man that that would actually be the ticket right there,
- 30:36Speaker 3: right like like I need to box together, uh yeah,
- 30:47Speaker 3: and and check them all off. Yeah. Adaptive reversal, Vault Assault,
- 30:53Speaker 3: Sound I don't work. No, too bad. I mean, I
- 30:59Speaker 3: guess is a form of part of adaptive is reversal?
- 31:03Speaker 3: I guess maybe I don't know. That's what now when
- 31:05Speaker 3: you're playing best of one, h I suppose Wait, is
- 31:12Speaker 3: this short adaptive or is this real adaptive short? It's
- 31:18Speaker 3: just as adaptive. I didn't see it.
- 31:21Speaker 2: Yeah, it's described further into roles.
- 31:22Speaker 3: But okay, there are so yeah, they say this is.
- 31:26Speaker 2: Just one of those things like I have never been
- 31:28Speaker 2: at a key Forge event where I have played more
- 31:31Speaker 2: than two or three key Forge games that were not
- 31:37Speaker 2: dedicated to the main event.
- 31:44Speaker 3: So last last year, the Sweet sixteen was very popular.
- 31:48Speaker 3: There were lots of people playing all over the place.
- 31:53Speaker 3: It it just had good vibes. And people are having
- 31:57Speaker 3: to get to a scavenger out this year. Wasn't there
- 32:03Speaker 3: a scavenger hunt last year? That's so like all over
- 32:06Speaker 3: the city.
- 32:09Speaker 4: No, that was ch event. That was the charity event.
- 32:15Speaker 3: Okay right, yeah, which by the way, I am. I
- 32:22Speaker 3: am bringing the sleeves from the charity event that I
- 32:25Speaker 3: did not get to get to go to the charity event.
- 32:28Speaker 3: But I don't need it, so I got the leaves.
- 32:30Speaker 3: So I'm gonna bring those and use them. Those like sleep.
- 32:33Speaker 4: Shoot, I need to bring these, so I.
- 32:35Speaker 3: Used my sleep celebration. Were those good? The dragon shields
- 32:45Speaker 3: somebody made about dragon shields with Brockner. Yeah, they were
- 32:50Speaker 3: all the like brightly sweater stuff, but they were actual
- 32:53Speaker 3: dragon shields. They weren't game jenic garbage.
- 32:56Speaker 2: Yes, that is correct. I used skagenic sleeves now all
- 33:02Speaker 2: the time on board games.
- 33:05Speaker 3: Oh, but they're also significantly better than what they used
- 33:11Speaker 3: to be.
- 33:12Speaker 2: Yeah, probably.
- 33:14Speaker 3: Were really bad, not good at all, work in progress. Yes,
- 33:20Speaker 3: they were.
- 33:22Speaker 2: Trying to teach my kid that instead of saying everything sucks,
- 33:26Speaker 2: is room for improvement, keep it from getting in trouble.
- 33:30Speaker 3: Wait, now you just say there's.
- 33:32Speaker 2: Room for improvement?
- 33:33Speaker 4: Who are you? Would you do it?
- 33:35Speaker 3: Dan? I don't know. I can say things suck.
- 33:38Speaker 2: I'm just saying yeah, So I gotta I gotta practice
- 33:41Speaker 2: a little bit little, a little bit of practice on
- 33:43Speaker 2: my own part.
- 33:44Speaker 3: He's working on his he's working on his positivity.
- 33:47Speaker 4: I liked this new Dan. This is great. I'm proud
- 33:51Speaker 4: of you man.
- 33:52Speaker 3: Now it's awful. It's like lying to people there's room
- 33:56Speaker 3: for improvement, But there is.
- 34:00Speaker 2: But it's what I have to tell you, here's your
- 34:02Speaker 2: participation award.
- 34:06Speaker 4: All right, Speaking of Wok, he got a participation award
- 34:10Speaker 4: at our locals.
- 34:12Speaker 3: It was my car still. I got a amber Skies,
- 34:18Speaker 3: I got a number Skies deck.
- 34:20Speaker 4: Well it's a special one. It's our store.
- 34:24Speaker 3: They all they all broke down in tears. They're like, please,
- 34:27Speaker 3: thank you for coming back to play with us, And
- 34:30Speaker 3: they all cried a little bit. Oh no, it wasn't
- 34:34Speaker 3: an a moment. They were just happy to have a
- 34:36Speaker 3: player with even numbers finally again. Yeah, yeah, I mean
- 34:43Speaker 3: I got beat up sleek, I got beat up good.
- 34:45Speaker 3: I got beat up real good.
- 34:48Speaker 2: Yeah, we don't. We don't pull our punches.
- 34:50Speaker 3: No, I would never expect you to, but you know,
- 34:57Speaker 3: we said, and then we kicked them right in the
- 34:59Speaker 3: te Yeah, that's kind of how that went, exactly. It's
- 35:03Speaker 3: kind of exactly how that went. But Dan wants to
- 35:06Speaker 3: keep the episode short, so let's move into the bit
- 35:10Speaker 3: of I guess news, it's news, right, snooze, Well, it
- 35:17Speaker 3: is it is it is. Yeah, I mean it's information
- 35:23Speaker 3: we did not have yesterday.
- 35:25Speaker 4: Let's say, at this time of year, it is news,
- 35:28Speaker 4: and we I.
- 35:30Speaker 3: Guess we're all wondering and I don't see the thing
- 35:33Speaker 3: just leads to the article for the Star Championships and
- 35:37Speaker 3: the prize decks were prophetic visions, Like that's what they
- 35:40Speaker 3: show us prize decks, Yes, but then they show this
- 35:47Speaker 3: mm hm and oh okay, so it does say it
- 35:50Speaker 3: in there. I didn't see it because like they have
- 35:51Speaker 3: a different Yeah, it's like the battle tested word treasure
- 35:57Speaker 3: awarded for the glorious victory. So what you'll be getting
- 36:01Speaker 3: as your prize support is key Forge Exclusive key Forge
- 36:07Speaker 3: Prophetic Visions decks containing at least one legacy card they do.
- 36:16Speaker 3: My favorite part is exactly what Dan says. They show
- 36:20Speaker 3: off cards like Control the Week, Library Access, Stealth Mode,
- 36:27Speaker 3: and too Much to Protect. But I'm going with Dan's
- 36:30Speaker 3: list of what we're gonna get, which includes such such
- 36:35Speaker 3: KeyForge All Stars such as Sorry and Egg. Sorry I
- 36:40Speaker 3: couldn't say that with a straight face, followed Blaster halikor
- 36:45Speaker 3: the Terror Dexter Dive Pod or Knuckles Bolton.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Yep, look forward to those reprints. If you're lucky, I mean,
- 36:57Speaker 2: you could get al Midra.
- 37:00Speaker 3: That's the one that gives a loose or just elusive
- 37:03Speaker 3: and Skirmish, just elusive to his s neighbors. It gives elusive.
- 37:07Speaker 3: What's the one that's elusive and has skirmish that knuckles
- 37:11Speaker 3: bolton knuckles bolton yep, I already picked that one of them.
- 37:15Speaker 3: I'm hoping for a broadnar plant. Do you want really rare?
- 37:22Speaker 2: You want like a weird rare slot card that has
- 37:26Speaker 2: like a one in seven chance of being any house?
- 37:29Speaker 3: Do you think that happen cards because of the wh
- 37:33Speaker 3: was never finished, right, because we don't we don't have
- 37:35Speaker 3: like plants from the houses.
- 37:37Speaker 2: So theyes, what were those trash discards?
- 37:42Speaker 3: They made one Master of two, Master of three. Now yeah,
- 37:49Speaker 3: the cap well, there's a gold camp that's that is
- 37:52Speaker 3: the worst one.
- 37:53Speaker 2: It was only because the Pitlord because now Pittlord is
- 37:59Speaker 2: too much fun and.
- 38:00Speaker 3: There isn't this Yeah, true, but there is just some PV.
- 38:08Speaker 3: I mean we hated rotting miss right. We just talked
- 38:11Speaker 3: about that one. Yeah, can it Maverick from from DM
- 38:17Speaker 3: Oh No, that was a c C right.
- 38:20Speaker 1: Oh it was like uh.
- 38:22Speaker 2: No, it was a single creature type, wasn't it something bank?
- 38:28Speaker 3: Oh?
- 38:28Speaker 4: Oh? The bands?
- 38:29Speaker 3: Yeah, they're all the different bands. Yeah, that's you get.
- 38:33Speaker 4: Yes, I'm bringing back some PTSD here.
- 38:35Speaker 2: Man, you're getting giants bane.
- 38:38Speaker 3: Yes, So I mean I think this is cool. I
- 38:51Speaker 3: you know, legacies are fun. Guaranteed legacy is not something
- 38:55Speaker 3: we had before. It changes up a little bit. You
- 39:00Speaker 3: Now it allows them to keep printing PV without and
- 39:03Speaker 3: still say it's sold out because well it's not normal TV.
- 39:06Speaker 3: It's like guaranteed guaranteed legacy PV, right or what she
- 39:12Speaker 3: said is one worst card in my deck? Yeah, guaranteed work. Yeah,
- 39:19Speaker 3: it's talking of a fade effect. So I suppose there's that.
- 39:21Speaker 2: We just going to weaken this up a little bit.
- 39:26Speaker 2: I wish there was maybe that reprint PV and every
- 39:29Speaker 2: deck it's ten ten legacy cards, and then maybe the
- 39:33Speaker 2: set will be balanced.
- 39:34Speaker 3: What if it was a legacy house, like a whole
- 39:37Speaker 3: legacy house.
- 39:40Speaker 2: I mean sure, okay, okay, but looking at POP, that
- 39:46Speaker 2: would be such a weird thing to think about, Like
- 39:52Speaker 2: the the logic you'd have to worry about about cross
- 39:55Speaker 2: card interaction becomes huge if any house could be pulled
- 40:01Speaker 2: in with a complete set of cards from it. Yeah,
- 40:04Speaker 2: and that's just kind of mind boggling to think about.
- 40:08Speaker 3: Is mimicry in PV It's not, is it. I don't
- 40:12Speaker 3: think it is because that would be dumb. Now you
- 40:19Speaker 3: come look forward to save the pack. Oh baby, I'm exciting.
- 40:28Speaker 4: Looking at these four looking at these four cards that
- 40:33Speaker 4: they listed, which is pretty hot and spicy.
- 40:36Speaker 2: They take the traditional six value cards to show us.
- 40:39Speaker 4: Yeah, but think about p V. A solid PV deck
- 40:44Speaker 4: that now has control the weekend it too, more control
- 40:47Speaker 4: or a great a great logos with library access side
- 40:55Speaker 4: delth mode going in you know TMTP.
- 40:57Speaker 3: Oh god with out with an l A so you
- 41:00Speaker 3: got the already good efficiency of PV. Actually don't know
- 41:04Speaker 3: if LA is that.
- 41:05Speaker 4: I don't Yeah, I don't think LA actually holds up.
- 41:08Speaker 4: I do think the control of the week is. I
- 41:10Speaker 4: think that in stealth mode are again more control.
- 41:13Speaker 2: The MTP is also one that is not actually that
- 41:16Speaker 2: exciting because there is not a ton of small a
- 41:19Speaker 2: little bit of capture that could be washed into big
- 41:23Speaker 2: amber pools.
- 41:23Speaker 3: But that's good.
- 41:26Speaker 4: I guess that's that's how you get around trinks, right,
- 41:29Speaker 4: you trinks and then you go okay here, but you
- 41:33Speaker 4: know it's like.
- 41:34Speaker 2: It's only secret the first time you play it sealed
- 41:37Speaker 2: and then they know.
- 41:38Speaker 3: Yeah, you could always get that legacy.
- 41:42Speaker 2: So I'm just like I wonder if they did a
- 41:48Speaker 2: pass over on what could be legacied and actually cranked
- 41:52Speaker 2: it up. Yeah, like did a filter and said none
- 41:56Speaker 2: of these bad things, right, just said doubt it. They
- 42:03Speaker 2: could be real good, like because your typical legacy.
- 42:07Speaker 3: I don't really believe them crash that they know. No,
- 42:12Speaker 3: I don't know that they know what's good for that,
- 42:14Speaker 3: although I will say this is here. This is the
- 42:20Speaker 3: first time I've ever looked at a set of cards
- 42:22Speaker 3: where they're like, look at these good cards and been like,
- 42:26Speaker 3: those are actually good cards. Like normally they have something
- 42:29Speaker 3: like outrageous in there that you're like, why the hell
- 42:31Speaker 3: would you have this in this picture?
- 42:33Speaker 2: I guess you know, I'm looking at this lesson Outside
- 42:35Speaker 2: of T M T P all the other three of
- 42:37Speaker 2: all have traditionally been restricted cards in Alliance, they have
- 42:45Speaker 2: ways to tell cards that are good.
- 42:48Speaker 3: Maybe or maybe they just dot com and filter. That's
- 42:53Speaker 3: what they did. They just filtered out all the sixes
- 42:57Speaker 3: so you will actually see none of these cards. And yeah,
- 43:01Speaker 3: because I said, actually went to uh, well, because a
- 43:05Speaker 3: lot of these traditionally zeros and you get candy scrappers.
- 43:12Speaker 3: Because wasn't La turned off being able to be legacyed. No, no,
- 43:21Speaker 3: it wasn't. You're right, no, it was turned off from
- 43:23Speaker 3: being legacied, right, No do you do? Are you the
- 43:27Speaker 3: one who has a legacy l A?
- 43:29Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, okay, I actually have a tendency of being
- 43:34Speaker 4: able to pull l A in the legacy format. So
- 43:37Speaker 4: it's I have a couple of different acts. They're fun.
- 43:41Speaker 3: I just look at that like control the weekend, PV
- 43:43Speaker 3: stealth mode and PV.
- 43:49Speaker 4: It's more control, Yeah.
- 43:54Speaker 2: That's yeah, It's just it's you know, very consistent control. Well,
- 44:00Speaker 2: I yeah, it's a good car and control of the weight.
- 44:04Speaker 2: They're definitely good cards.
- 44:08Speaker 3: Take the I think I'm just gonna open orchanometer, you know,
- 44:14Speaker 3: that's just I also wonder if this is going to
- 44:18Speaker 3: You're just going to open pointless three power creatures more
- 44:23Speaker 3: than likely you thinks that's probably I'm gonna go take
- 44:26Speaker 3: a bath with a toaster now.
- 44:29Speaker 2: So I'm going to be at cards that you're like, oh,
- 44:31Speaker 2: this is real bad that three power guy who and
- 44:34Speaker 2: sorry and who moves an amber off of a creature
- 44:36Speaker 2: Like hey, he's okay.
- 44:39Speaker 4: Yeah, I actually have LA that showed up in my
- 44:43Speaker 4: DT deck. It is a fun DT deck just from
- 44:46Speaker 4: what it can do, from moving cards and being able
- 44:50Speaker 4: to have cards like Tellmage steel hard then or.
- 44:54Speaker 3: Hey, here's here's a fun thing to think about, guys.
- 44:58Speaker 3: Start Championships are when coming up right April? Yeah, March first,
- 45:03Speaker 3: April seven. Here's a fun thing. So we have Star
- 45:08Speaker 3: Championships for all three formats, Sealed, ARCon Alliance.
- 45:14Speaker 2: Yeah, it's still on restricted TV season.
- 45:19Speaker 3: Yeah. We don't have a new restricted list for twenty
- 45:21Speaker 3: twenty six yet.
- 45:23Speaker 2: Nope, maybe there'll be one by then they'll release it
- 45:28Speaker 2: like a week before, and everybody were like.
- 45:30Speaker 4: Raw right tarjeeves.
- 45:34Speaker 2: But I mean, like the four people because even even
- 45:37Speaker 2: in ours where we're talking with Sydney about well, what
- 45:40Speaker 2: are we going to run for adapt a week and
- 45:42Speaker 2: she's like, well, are we all just gonna play my
- 45:45Speaker 2: decks again? Are we just gonna play Sealed adaptive and
- 45:47Speaker 2: be like Field.
- 45:49Speaker 3: A Lion and be good enough whatever?
- 45:55Speaker 4: Yeah, and then silver in the corner you're using that
- 45:57Speaker 4: adaptive word again.
- 45:59Speaker 3: Yeah, keeps creeping in, but yeah we're probably that's a
- 46:02Speaker 3: five spot in in the squear jar Man. You know,
- 46:04Speaker 3: here's the deal.
- 46:06Speaker 2: Even with the Lions players, it's just like, eh, let's
- 46:08Speaker 2: just play the alliance formats.
- 46:10Speaker 3: That begin with A just throw them out the window
- 46:14Speaker 3: adaptive Alliance.
- 46:17Speaker 4: Ark.
- 46:19Speaker 3: Oh I guess that does start with it.
- 46:20Speaker 1: Eh.
- 46:21Speaker 4: Hey, that's the other thing we're talking.
- 46:23Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, you know what you know what as
- 46:25Speaker 3: of recent Yeah, throw out the window because the current
- 46:31Speaker 3: metaphor arcan is not great, dont know?
- 46:36Speaker 2: I mean, like, if you're have a PB deck that
- 46:40Speaker 2: can compete, it's kind of interesting. But yeah, yeah, you
- 46:44Speaker 2: have to have a PB deck that can compete.
- 46:46Speaker 3: It's how I feel about it. Yeah, I don't and
- 46:48Speaker 3: I don't like.
- 46:49Speaker 2: I no longer in the market to find good.
- 46:53Speaker 3: Decks because you have no reason to find good decks.
- 46:59Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, you're right, because I already got well.
- 47:02Speaker 3: I mean you you may have a reason to find them,
- 47:05Speaker 3: but you the problem is there is zero reason to
- 47:08Speaker 3: spend a big any sort of big money on them,
- 47:11Speaker 3: which is what everyone else. But they don't. They don't
- 47:13Speaker 3: trade hands anyways. What do you think it's it doesn't
- 47:20Speaker 3: matter how much money. Some of the best, truly good
- 47:23Speaker 3: decks don't change hands anymore. That's true. They just need
- 47:30Speaker 3: one of the team groups and get you super on
- 47:33Speaker 3: top of it, you need to be super on top
- 47:36Speaker 3: of it and as soon as one is open, recognize
- 47:39Speaker 3: it rapidly and message the crap out of that person.
- 47:41Speaker 3: I mean that's that's the only way to get to
- 47:43Speaker 3: get one now, right, I mean that that's I think
- 47:47Speaker 3: that's what folks who have accumulated these good decks are doing.
- 47:51Speaker 2: Yeah, and I have zero interest in doing that.
- 47:54Speaker 3: That's I just don't. Yeah, that sounds sicky. Yeah it
- 47:57Speaker 3: sounds like work. What you mean it sounds sicky? No, Yeah,
- 48:03Speaker 3: that's where I'm at, Like, I don't want to turn
- 48:07Speaker 3: it into work, right, Yep, the Jews ain't worth the squeeze.
- 48:12Speaker 3: I've used that now, Phrasen, not twice.
- 48:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I only turn your hobby into work. It's it's
- 48:19Speaker 2: being fun.
- 48:20Speaker 3: Right, And I kind of missed the old days of
- 48:24Speaker 3: trying to find some of those good stuff. But like
- 48:27Speaker 3: I I'm with Dan, like good decks don't actually don't
- 48:30Speaker 3: change anymore.
- 48:31Speaker 2: Stuff actually hit the market, and there's lots of stuff
- 48:34Speaker 2: being open and traded, but it's it's just condensed now
- 48:37Speaker 2: to the point where it's.
- 48:41Speaker 3: It's hard.
- 48:42Speaker 2: It's I feel like it's it's hard, and then you
- 48:46Speaker 2: know what a good arc on deck is worth. These days,
- 48:48Speaker 2: which is two to five hundred dollars maybe.
- 48:51Speaker 3: Something like that.
- 48:52Speaker 2: I guess I don't actually know what good deck's raight for,
- 48:54Speaker 2: but that's my guess. And I also don't want to
- 48:57Speaker 2: spend that kind of money anymore.
- 48:59Speaker 3: It's hard to just fi that amount of money anymore,
- 49:01Speaker 3: because I mean, what what do you get out of it?
- 49:05Speaker 4: A fun deck that you try at a vault to
- 49:08Speaker 4: her uh technically your responses. You get one vault Master
- 49:14Speaker 4: twenty three deck.
- 49:19Speaker 3: Yeah, and in twenty four I was.
- 49:23Speaker 4: Just starting, you know the line, Okay, you can finish.
- 49:26Speaker 4: Wait on twenty three one twenty four.
- 49:31Speaker 2: You had twenty five and and the foil play mat.
- 49:35Speaker 2: I would have liked the foil play mat.
- 49:36Speaker 4: The play MAT's awesome.
- 49:38Speaker 2: Yeah, play mat is awesome, and you don't even use it.
- 49:43Speaker 4: I try to rotate through them. I have too many mats,
- 49:46Speaker 4: and I feel that if I don't rotate through I also,
- 49:50Speaker 4: I don't know. I have a little worry that it's
- 49:51Speaker 4: gonna just flake off. But it seems to be holding
- 49:53Speaker 4: up pretty well so far.
- 49:54Speaker 3: You could always hang them somewhere in your man dungeon.
- 49:59Speaker 4: No, my man dudgeon has each of the boxes from
- 50:02Speaker 4: our Yeah, no room for mats. Oh no, there's plenty
- 50:07Speaker 4: of room.
- 50:08Speaker 3: I feel like we could. I feel like we could
- 50:09Speaker 3: fit those in there somewhere, all right.
- 50:11Speaker 2: Do we have any more jokes to make on store
- 50:13Speaker 2: championship deck?
- 50:14Speaker 3: No? No more start. But I mean, I like our
- 50:17Speaker 3: idea of like Arkan is single decks, sealed alliance is
- 50:24Speaker 3: you know, sealed alliance and then sealed as a three
- 50:31Speaker 3: deck pick one. That was our idea dress score. What's
- 50:37Speaker 3: your idea? Yeah? Yeah, in fact, well that was that
- 50:45Speaker 3: was all. It was all sealed, just different variations of sealed. Great.
- 50:50Speaker 3: I mean, I I threw so I is there a world?
- 50:55Speaker 4: Let me quiver?
- 50:56Speaker 3: I threw a bunch of decks in. I did throw
- 51:00Speaker 3: my uh sleepy Dragons deck in there, right, so grainy
- 51:07Speaker 3: measures went in. I threw a V twenty five deck
- 51:12Speaker 3: in that. I like, there are a couple of things
- 51:16Speaker 3: in and then some sealed decks. So that's why I'm breaking.
- 51:23Speaker 3: Is I enjoyed? I just I know Dan's just gonna
- 51:28Speaker 3: immediately shoot this down and say, no, I mean.
- 51:31Speaker 2: Are we are we like sliders? So there are lots
- 51:34Speaker 2: of alternate worlds.
- 51:35Speaker 3: Maybe yes?
- 51:36Speaker 2: Or I got to fit it in this world.
- 51:38Speaker 4: If you're trying to go it, if if you're trying
- 51:41Speaker 4: to go into later Sliders, it's just it turns all
- 51:44Speaker 4: the show Man.
- 51:45Speaker 3: But it just doesn't ever tell me, you ever hear
- 51:47Speaker 3: how to correctly watch Sliders. Just you can watch what
- 51:51Speaker 3: up until season three and then forget what Turname died.
- 51:56Speaker 4: See. I love this so much. I wanted to see
- 51:58Speaker 4: the end and it was really tough. Boys, it was
- 52:02Speaker 4: really tough to watch the end. Yet some crazy stuff.
- 52:05Speaker 3: Is there a world and Sheep's gonna immediately say no,
- 52:08Speaker 3: So I'm discounting anything. He says. Where sealed is just
- 52:13Speaker 3: how we play keyforg Like, there is no more arcan,
- 52:16Speaker 3: there is no more alliance. This is just every format
- 52:19Speaker 3: is what we've said. We move into a single deck sealed,
- 52:23Speaker 3: a three deck sealed, and a sealed alliance. And that's
- 52:26Speaker 3: just how key Ford just played competitively, not not like
- 52:33Speaker 3: not as a print game, not as a print you said,
- 52:38Speaker 3: not as a print game.
- 52:40Speaker 2: Right, It's just it's too much money to know you're
- 52:43Speaker 2: always throwing stuff away. If there is no chase and
- 52:46Speaker 2: no reason to have the cards, and there's no reason
- 52:48Speaker 2: to print the cards, that's that's the problem is just
- 52:53Speaker 2: ultimately too wasteful at the core for that to be
- 52:58Speaker 2: financially successful. They're just people just won't be it with it.
- 53:02Speaker 3: Are you sure now the fact I play it that way?
- 53:05Speaker 2: No, I'm serre I I yes, You're just I'm saying
- 53:09Speaker 2: no because I believe know that if that was actually
- 53:13Speaker 2: all there was to the game, it would be dead.
- 53:15Speaker 3: There would not be players anymore, we would playing. I
- 53:19Speaker 3: feel like that's how a lot of people already like
- 53:24Speaker 3: we go to the vault tours and all that, which
- 53:27Speaker 3: is just wasteful. Right, there's no there's no.
- 53:30Speaker 2: Dream, but there is a little dream you own. You broke,
- 53:35Speaker 2: you open something dragged, and you need to go play
- 53:38Speaker 2: at the vault. Like would I be more if I
- 53:43Speaker 2: cracked something stupid again and had a chance? You know,
- 53:48Speaker 2: I would play again? Sure? I mean playing it there
- 53:53Speaker 2: is the chance of opening something crack and crushing reap
- 53:58Speaker 2: Out's face with it is a little.
- 54:00Speaker 3: Bit of value to me.
- 54:02Speaker 2: Yes, there's a little bit of that value to to
- 54:05Speaker 2: then go and crush people who are investing more time
- 54:08Speaker 2: than me and Arkan. Right, but that's it and the
- 54:13Speaker 2: only way that's going to happen is I just opened
- 54:15Speaker 2: up and totally crack because I get the skill to
- 54:18Speaker 2: do it.
- 54:18Speaker 3: I just need to look. I wonder where we sit
- 54:21Speaker 3: because like at this point, like are we competitive? Are
- 54:27Speaker 3: we casuals? I feel like we're somewhere in between. We're
- 54:34Speaker 3: definitely not the same kind of hardcore we used to be,
- 54:40Speaker 3: that's for sure. No, I'll agree with that because like
- 54:43Speaker 3: what I am more, I am shocked to hear this.
- 54:47Speaker 4: This is like flabbergas see me at this point, You
- 54:51Speaker 4: to tell me this cast is talking about in depth strategy.
- 54:54Speaker 2: What well, strategy and key for hasn't changed now in
- 55:00Speaker 2: the last couple of years, And I.
- 55:02Speaker 3: Will agree with that. The only strategy and keyfarde was
- 55:05Speaker 3: the only h key forward strategy change was prophecies. And
- 55:10Speaker 3: it's play the dumbest prophecies that you can to make
- 55:13Speaker 3: sure that your opponent doesn't get to play things. It's
- 55:16Speaker 3: it's guessing what house they're thinking of. That's the strategy. Well,
- 55:20Speaker 3: I think I think there's better our current. I think
- 55:23Speaker 3: there's better. What was the one when you have the
- 55:25Speaker 3: same amount of creatures? I can't remember the name of it,
- 55:27Speaker 3: but I know what it does. Stars aligned stars aligned
- 55:30Speaker 3: stars aligned that there are better there are there are
- 55:35Speaker 3: ones that are better that I mean, I guess it
- 55:38Speaker 3: depends on where your strategy lies, right right, Because where
- 55:43Speaker 3: your strategy lies, like if you need your prophecies to
- 55:46Speaker 3: pop off, right like, you can definitely make sure stars align.
- 55:52Speaker 3: You are always in control of stars aligned more or less,
- 55:56Speaker 3: because you can make sure if more or less. I
- 56:01Speaker 3: don't know. I just I wonder because it's like, normally
- 56:04Speaker 3: when something like this said no, because that's not even true.
- 56:07Speaker 3: I was gonna say, older sets normally creep back in,
- 56:09Speaker 3: but man, you haven't even seen older sets creep back
- 56:12Speaker 3: in because it's again it's just well what what what
- 56:15Speaker 3: house am I thinking of? Really determines on whether you
- 56:18Speaker 3: get to play cards or not, Like it's.
- 56:21Speaker 4: You have an impact, Go ahead, I was gonna say,
- 56:25Speaker 4: you have an impact with some of the set designed
- 56:28Speaker 4: from PB. There are other great sets like ball Master
- 56:32Speaker 4: twenty five. It's a little bit more of their people
- 56:34Speaker 4: have gotten into so I don't know that they're out.
- 56:40Speaker 4: They're literally outclassed by PV. But here here's the thing,
- 56:42Speaker 4: what are you chasing? Like the what's your local op scene?
- 56:47Speaker 4: Is what you've created for the most part, they've shrunk,
- 56:50Speaker 4: are very very small, and it's fun, but it's a
- 56:52Speaker 4: social atmosphere. It's a way to be able to get out,
- 56:55Speaker 4: and that is still very much appreciated. But the one
- 56:59Speaker 4: storyline of events a year, go ahead and show up
- 57:02Speaker 4: for KFC. You have maybe maybe one event that's drivable
- 57:06Speaker 4: for a vault. For those of us who are blessed,
- 57:10Speaker 4: we can go ahead and go to multiple. That's a small,
- 57:14Speaker 4: small number. Then then you go to those large events.
- 57:18Speaker 4: What are we really looking at? You heard it, you.
- 57:22Speaker 3: Heard it from from j R. If you're not going
- 57:25Speaker 3: to multiple vaults, you're not blessed.
- 57:28Speaker 4: M I'm saying, I'm saying DRez that it's taking it's
- 57:33Speaker 4: taking a bit of money in order to be able
- 57:35Speaker 4: to go to multiple vaults. And so the question is
- 57:38Speaker 4: is that it.
- 57:38Speaker 2: Takes money to go to multiple big events for any game.
- 57:41Speaker 2: I just don't ever see where you guys are going
- 57:44Speaker 2: where this game is.
- 57:48Speaker 3: Expensive?
- 57:49Speaker 2: Not always what I'm want to say, but no, you
- 57:53Speaker 2: cannot go play multiple top level events and anything for nothing,
- 57:58Speaker 2: not for nothing and to be a little bit cheaper,
- 58:01Speaker 2: because you'll have two that are some level of drivable,
- 58:06Speaker 2: or you could be some of these guys who live
- 58:08Speaker 2: in stupid parts of the country and there are no
- 58:10Speaker 2: major events for them even near them.
- 58:12Speaker 4: Like that's I agree, I agree shape with you on that. Here,
- 58:18Speaker 4: here's where the difference is, what are you really striving for?
- 58:23Speaker 4: So you can go ahead and put in the time
- 58:25Speaker 4: and the reps, and you can go ahead and find
- 58:27Speaker 4: those decks, and what are.
- 58:29Speaker 2: You breaking rights and winning a vault tour?
- 58:32Speaker 4: There is breaking rights, but that that's that's where really
- 58:37Speaker 4: is stopping. At this point, it has become more of
- 58:40Speaker 4: a social experience, I mean individuals.
- 58:44Speaker 2: This is a well washed discussion that we've had on
- 58:48Speaker 2: this cast where I do not agree with your guys'
- 58:52Speaker 2: need for getting more for winning.
- 58:56Speaker 3: I don't.
- 58:57Speaker 2: I've never I've never had that feeling. I I don't
- 59:02Speaker 2: understand that mentality as a driving factor.
- 59:07Speaker 3: I don't think you push You're right, but I.
- 59:10Speaker 2: Think just from it's it's a much deeper core thing.
- 59:13Speaker 2: I think having that as a driving factor in your
- 59:15Speaker 2: life leads to a lot of the terrible things that
- 59:19Speaker 2: we have in this world.
- 59:20Speaker 3: But we're here, he's necessarily talking about stuff like the rookie, right, yes,
- 59:29Speaker 3: like exactly like the rookie No reaction is like the
- 59:34Speaker 3: Wookie what I guess, I'm confused and where you're headed
- 59:36Speaker 3: with that, but uh, not necessarily the stuff, but you're
- 59:44Speaker 3: you're talking bragging rights. But it's like, okay, I guess
- 59:49Speaker 3: like some of the bigger ones, like if I were
- 59:51Speaker 3: to go like over at Baltimore or ro Rochester, I
- 59:56Speaker 3: would feel some sense of accomplishment.
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: No, I think that winning I think winning any vault
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: niney vaults and keep them, I am just flying with them.
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: I agree with that.
- 1:00:07Speaker 4: I think that any vaults who or win is impressive.
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: I just.
- 1:00:13Speaker 4: What are you really going for? Like when you talk
- 1:00:15Speaker 4: cheap that there's nothing there. I'm not talking for money,
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: but like we got to put out some decent prizes
- 1:00:20Speaker 4: something that's an incentive there. And it's not just here's one,
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: but like if we can't even get a box for
- 1:00:26Speaker 4: taking down First, like frankly First has everything, but I
- 1:00:30Speaker 4: mean making top eight is still at a very impressive ordeal.
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: And yet it's personally, AM just fine with the out
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: the prize price vaults, the prizes that vault as comparison
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: to attendance, I am just fine with them. We we
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: all agree the prizing at Worlds was subpar. Sheep's prize
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: for winning a vault or doing well at a vault
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: as he likes his picture taken and then putting up
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: on a website. No, I like my name and the article.
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: I actually don't like the picture.
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: Oh okay, well name an article. He likes the recognition. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: you're right, it's recognition. Yeah, it's it is one of
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: those things accomplishing something other people haven't accomplished. That's that's all. Yeah,
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: that's about what it is for me.
- 1:01:18Speaker 4: We're absolutely affirmation there. We appreciate your shape.
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: You appreciate me down to my superior play.
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: And to a degree, I agree with Sheep, like that
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: is that's a drive for me, but like it just like,
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: oh is that drive worth? And again, decks aren't changing hands.
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: So it's the secondary market's very stale. Anything being posted
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: for hundreds of dollars is typically not worth what the
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: person is asking for. I think, can we all agree
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: upon it?
- 1:01:53Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: I don't know if I can agree because I haven't
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: actually seen anything posted in the hundreds of dollars and
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: then reviewed it and said yes or no to it.
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: I've seen, like I turned off my d ok notifications
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: for deck sales because.
- 1:02:05Speaker 3: I've been I've been looking into okay for a while now,
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: and I'm just like, ah, I don't think this cuts
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: the mustard.
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: Well, but you're you're a different person than it comes
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: to shopping, because you won't you look at a deck
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: and if you don't think it's like one of the
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: three best decks in the world, you are like a
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: discounting it immediately kind of guy.
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: You you have a very very very high criteria and
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: I won't disagree with you when I shop for decks
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: because if I mean, if I don't think it's going
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: to do what I'm looking for it to do, is
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: it worth the money that somebody is asking for it? Well,
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: it's not to you, that is That is the clear answer. Okay,
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: I don't I don't think.
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: I don't think your price is aligned with what other
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: people think decks are worth when they're.
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: And I think everybody else is. Deck of valuation prices
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: is absolutely bananas.
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: Well that's fine, right, Like we don't have to agree.
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: They're the seller, they get to set the price.
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: You are one hundred percent correct, you know, there is
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: speaking of buying decks like I used to folks may
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: remember from way back. Yeah, you like them all way
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: back on the cast. Like I used to buy decks, Yeah,
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: I would buy I would find the most interesting deck
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: I could find for thirty bucks. Like that was fun.
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: That was a fun game, and you know I would
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: just bring them to local play on whatever, right and
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: just have some fun. But you know, it killed that
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: for me because I didn't buy real ARCon decks. No,
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: it was we When key Forge came back and it
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: was only Arcan and there was no sealed I was
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: like shit, Like I bought all these decks because I
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: really just wanted to play c And I was like,
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: I bought all these decks, but none of them can
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: actually be used. So I was like, I guess I
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: have to start looking at our condex. And I never
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: actually went back to finding on decks for thirty bucks.
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: And yeah, I never went back to it. Yeah, it's
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: play groups and I'm not super looking for Yeah.
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: Yeah, play groups are small now, it's even harder. That's
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: when you show up like I keep showing up with
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: my currently okay DM deck and yeah, basically what I'm
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: gonna I'm gonna keep beating up people who want to
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: play sealed decks against it, and then sooner or later,
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: mister Purfer is going to start bringing out his decks
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: that are well in line to beat it up and
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: start taking my lunch money, which is fair, but it's
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: just I don't know, it's it's hard.
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: It is.
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: It is hard to find places to play the medium
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: stuff unless your group is willing to play all those
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: extra rules on top formats we were talking about a
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: little bit at the beginning. Name yeah, unless you actually
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: have a very good casual playgroup, which you know technically
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: we do here, but we just we would rather just
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: we're junkies. We'd rather see something new, didn't even try
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: something we've already seen before. That's it's just more interesting.
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: It's what's this one got to offer?
- 1:05:24Speaker 4: Oh nothing, it's a lottery ticket. It's a chance to
- 1:05:30Speaker 4: be able to play something fun. And again the price
- 1:05:33Speaker 4: point to code play for a couple hours with friends
- 1:05:35Speaker 4: is is amazing.
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, and it's uh, that'll be interesting.
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: Should maybe I should go back look at weird.
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: Decks The game goes forward here. Yeah, Like we we've
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: talked about a little bit before, PV being overpowered, which
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: I think comes back down to just core design philosophy stuff,
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: which is they added a new play zone and effect
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: which adds value to cards. So you either have to
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: detune parts of the cards to equal out that they're better,
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: or you get what you have in PV, which is
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: the base strength of the card is as good, if
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: not better than cards have always been. Plus they now
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: have a bonus feature that gives them more value, so
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: you just have a higher value across the whole set, right.
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: And when when the control goes outside of a normal
- 1:06:35Speaker 4: order of turn, so there's no.
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: Way to meaningfully interact with it out of set. And
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: that's where Woe was a secret success in that there
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: was like what a token was played just find with
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: traditional key for rules, it's just a relatively mediocre value creature,
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: but it had that opportunity cost where it's like, this
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: card is either a two value creature if you tokenize it,
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: or the card you may be giving up your five
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: and six value cards. And that becomes a risk and
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: a balancing factor, right because you know, like you're yep on,
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: you're not making the choice. And like Woe decks that
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: were really strong stuff. It was they had a little
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: more option where you're like oh, I'm only turning my
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: ones and twos into tokens and able to keep the
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: good cards in cycle. Or you see a lot of
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: people talking about war Wold fails as like, well, yeah,
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: you got three really strong cards in your deck and
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: they turned into tokens and you lose that game because
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: they got turned.
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: Into tokens and it's just a luck thing with woe
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: to win sometimes.
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: Where you know, that was part of the elegance of
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: that set was that there was a potential cost to
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: playing these cards for their alternate value, where that really
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: doesn't exist in PV Right, It's yeah, you get to always,
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: almost always choose to play your cards for their highest
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: value use every time you have them, so you just
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: you know, the set's just stronger. And it's where again
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: you start looking at the Sleepy Dragon rules. Sleepy Dragons
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: have this stay exhausted mechanic, which means there's a cost
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: to doing it sometimes to get a very clear benefit
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: that your opponent can respond to through very traditional key
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: forge measures. Right, Oh, he's entrenching that creature which is
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: going to allow him to do this things. I need
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: to kill that creature. Cards and decks are already designed
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: to do that so you can interact with what's happening there, right,
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: and then the whole overwhelmed mechanic is a catch up mechanic,
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: you know, like it's again like you're not the core
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: aspects of keyboards. Nothing is changing. There's nothing that a
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: previous deck you know is like you understand, like a
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: previous deck understands how to play a inst overwhelm, well,
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: play more or less creatures. Certainly some decks can play
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: more or less creatures, right, just based off of counts,
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: But the the mechanic isn't anything. Oh this world where
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: it's just like I have no way to interact with
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: that h And that's that's again. It's where PV was
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: a thing. And also sometimes where DT failed, well DT
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: failed because they didn't they actually did too much balancing
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: where they're like, oh, when there is a tide, it's
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: a little stronger, and when there isn't a tide, it's
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: a little weaker. But because the tide trades and there
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: wasn't enough tide raising on average, you ended up with
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: the weaker half of the cards and it was terrible, right,
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: that's right.
- 1:09:46Speaker 3: And sometimes yeah, it was like as powerful as the
- 1:09:53Speaker 3: old card if you had the tide with you and
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: weaker if you didn't like what right, it was just
- 1:10:00Speaker 3: I was tuned a little too Yeah, is.
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: Tuned too soft right to be truly competitive. But that's
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: you know, it's like it's just core. I don't know,
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: I think you look, you sit down and you think
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: about it. And certainly didn't think about it when I
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: was looking at the cards the first time, because I'm
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: not a designer. But as I sit here and play
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: and think about it, and we use metrics to define
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: the cards, it's kind of easy to see these things
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: where it's like, you know, if a card is this
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: strong and now it gets additional things that make it stronger,
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: it's just a better card than we've ever had before, right,
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: which means on average, these decks are just going to
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: be better than anything we've had before. And there's nothing
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: that I'm sleeping in Sleepy Dragons that does that kind
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: of math, and definitely the previous You know, while we've
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: seen most of the set, right, there's not There have
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: not been a lot of twenties in that set that
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: I've seen, So we'll see where enough.
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: But Sheep needs to go to bed. He's got to
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: get up at five o'clock in the morning, and then
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: I do get to.
- 1:11:08Speaker 4: Now go have fun. Guys, I gotta I gotta drive.
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: To the south side of Chicago for work, then drive
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: back home to do to take my coworker to get
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: our heavy duty truck so I could then get my
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: stuff to then go back to Chicago to get on
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: a plane. So my actual travel time tomorrow is going
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: to be.
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: Like, is anybody streaming in that car?
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: No, there's talk of at least two or three people
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: having streaming setups.
- 1:11:40Speaker 3: There is. However, it might just be recorded because so
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: last year there was enough stream but the internet and
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: Amish country is not so good. What do you mean
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: by that? Yeah, yeah, go ahead and say it out loud.
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: They're not listening.
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: The random bakery off the back of parts are often
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: very good at not much company country.
- 1:12:09Speaker 4: Yes, that's true, that is true.
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: I'm going to miss the Schmorgesborg. I have you know
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: what's funny as you mentioned it and then all of
- 1:12:15Speaker 3: a sudden, like my TikTok was like, oh, check out
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: this place called whatever whatever Smorgsborg and it's shady, that's
- 1:12:24Speaker 3: the one, and I'm like, oh, man, now, I'm really
- 1:12:26Speaker 3: mad that I'm not going to get to see this
- 1:12:28Speaker 3: joint because it looks absolutely just a sheer vision of
- 1:12:33Speaker 3: taking it all and it's kind of like, wow, that's
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: that's a help. Well, yeah, it's it's it's kind of outrageous,
- 1:12:39Speaker 3: it's it's yeah, it's awesome. Yeah, it's awesome. Man, weird, strange,
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: I get it, but like you look at it and
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: they're like, h I watched this one thing where a
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: dude's like, I never tried chicken hearts and they have
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: chicken hearts and I was like, oh, I would not
- 1:12:55Speaker 3: try that. You're a brave soul. It's just what you mean.
- 1:13:00Speaker 3: If you're going to Echo, have a good time. This
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: probably won't be out until after you're already at Echo.
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: You're probably listening to this on your flight home. If
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: you are listening to this, they can't know all my
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: fraud plan secrets. I think we all knew your fraud
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: planned secret because it's not gonna lie. I think we
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: are already all on board with like, Yep, that's probably
- 1:13:17Speaker 3: what's gonna happen.
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: Unpredictable.
- 1:13:22Speaker 3: Yeah, you never know what Sheep's gonna do. With that
- 1:13:27Speaker 3: being said, and we will see you all next week.
- 1:13:31Speaker 4: No, no.
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: We in southern borders with the from strength. Ain't nobody
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: paying no to feel the pain and you could be next.
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: You better keep respect it sing nobody breaking his red neck.
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: No pale w none, No pale mo dun tell mad none,
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: No pale mom done, pal my done, No pale mom none.
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: Ain't looking scared now.
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: They don't pay mom.
- 1:14:30Speaker 4: Now I'm gonna macks rock
