- 0:42Speaker 3: Hello, how are you? I am doing peachey? How about you?
- 0:48Speaker 2: You're doing Peche?
- 0:49Speaker 3: Yeah? Actually, I know I'm doing really well.
- 0:51Speaker 2: I'm not drinking anything peche. I'm decent, tired. Work is work,
- 0:56Speaker 2: life is life.
- 0:58Speaker 3: Returning from over she so takes a toll.
- 1:05Speaker 2: I don't know why. So I think I've mentioned this before.
- 1:08Speaker 2: I switched my hours to where now I'm getting in earlier,
- 1:12Speaker 2: but I get to leave earlier. So it's nice and
- 1:15Speaker 2: it's crazy that it's only an hour difference. But I
- 1:17Speaker 2: literally feel like I have a whole Like I know,
- 1:18Speaker 2: I just feel like I have like a lot more
- 1:20Speaker 2: time to do stuff. But then when it's just like
- 1:23Speaker 2: long days like right now, we're doing this at seven
- 1:25Speaker 2: o'clock Central, eight o'clock Eastern, and I've been home now
- 1:29Speaker 2: for two and a half. No, not to it, because
- 1:32Speaker 2: I got home, little La takes to make dinner and
- 1:34Speaker 2: you pick up the dog. But even then I'm just like, I'm.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Just like no, yep, no, I hear you on that
- 1:40Speaker 3: so much.
- 1:41Speaker 2: I don't want to do anything, and yet I after
- 1:42Speaker 2: this podcast, I got a lot of stuff I gotta do.
- 1:46Speaker 3: Well. It's it's the never ending cycle of adulthood. There's
- 1:50Speaker 3: always something to do.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean you're about to be you're about to
- 1:53Speaker 2: enter the next stage of your life here. Yeah, you're
- 1:59Speaker 2: one of the last one in the in the two's.
- 2:01Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just good and bad days.
- 2:07Speaker 2: It's just funny that like oh, really quick, sorry, are
- 2:11Speaker 2: you drinking anything?
- 2:13Speaker 3: Just some good old fashioned H two.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Oh I'm having bubbly lines, so stored of H two,
- 2:19Speaker 2: but not each to them. We're just flavoridah to them.
- 2:24Speaker 2: It's just funny like we see these like memeed tiktoks
- 2:26Speaker 2: about like you know, people ask you want to go
- 2:28Speaker 2: out after nine o'clock, they just have a disgusted look. No, dude,
- 2:32Speaker 2: it's funny, Like the second like nine o'clock hits, I'm like,
- 2:39Speaker 2: I'm not on my computer, I'm not on my phone.
- 2:42Speaker 2: I'm if I'm with my wife, we're watching whatever is
- 2:45Speaker 2: on TV, or we're just talking whatever, And like ten o'clock,
- 2:47Speaker 2: it's like, all right, we gotta try to we gotta
- 2:49Speaker 2: start winding down.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Now, let me ask you this eve on the weekends. Sorry,
- 2:57Speaker 3: so I'm very much in the same boat. Yes, I've
- 3:02Speaker 3: known for a handful of years. Not I'm definitely aligned
- 3:05Speaker 3: with more of like the middle aged soul or the
- 3:11Speaker 3: like suburbia soul. But with that said, I've been asking
- 3:17Speaker 3: a lot of people that kind of the same question,
- 3:19Speaker 3: are like, what what does your night look like? Most often,
- 3:23Speaker 3: you know, what is relaxing to you? And almost everyone
- 3:27Speaker 3: I have talked to a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds, religious backgrounds,
- 3:35Speaker 3: ethnic backgrounds, majority are saying the same thing. And my
- 3:42Speaker 3: question to you is do you feel out of place?
- 3:44Speaker 3: Or does that feel normal and natural?
- 3:46Speaker 2: I I don't know, it's like a question, Actually I don't.
- 3:58Speaker 2: I don't feel out of place. Just say this in
- 4:00Speaker 2: your twenties, it's the classic like you know, oh, here's
- 4:05Speaker 2: two older dudes talking. But it's a classic you're trying
- 4:07Speaker 2: to figure out who the hell you are. Well, you know,
- 4:10Speaker 2: but like no one tells you to stop for your
- 4:13Speaker 2: You're just going at the flow. Now that I'm in
- 4:15Speaker 2: my thirties, like, it's not that like I'm not trying
- 4:19Speaker 2: to find my place. It's like I have my place.
- 4:22Speaker 2: But you always have this and it's not a bad thing,
- 4:26Speaker 2: by the way. You always have this desire to like
- 4:29Speaker 2: you want to do more, but sometimes when you don't
- 4:35Speaker 2: want to do more, you're okay with it. And what
- 4:37Speaker 2: by that means? Like, like I said, like, for example,
- 4:41Speaker 2: you and I we gained a little bit together last week.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Like what like an hour hour and a half towards.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Putting nicely and because you know, next day, you know,
- 4:53Speaker 2: as I talked about before, my wife is currently in
- 4:55Speaker 2: Germany again. I know she's come back. No, she's doing
- 4:58Speaker 2: there for an audit, but she was and she literally
- 5:01Speaker 2: said like, oh, it's like you gained like like how
- 5:03Speaker 2: long did you gain four? Like in the classic six
- 5:05Speaker 2: seven hours? I'm like, I just said that number.
- 5:08Speaker 3: Damn it.
- 5:09Speaker 2: No, I literally said, I think we maybe it most
- 5:11Speaker 2: got two hours?
- 5:12Speaker 3: How was it?
- 5:12Speaker 2: And I was like it was so relaxed. Yeah, And
- 5:15Speaker 2: then I talked to Patrick og Patron. He said, and
- 5:18Speaker 2: he said, how was it And I said, honestly, and
- 5:21Speaker 2: I said, it wasn't just and I said, I told Kaitlyn,
- 5:23Speaker 2: was like, it wasn't relaxing, it was like soul soothing. Okay,
- 5:27Speaker 2: you had this because I had this moment of I
- 5:31Speaker 2: have nothing to do. I want to do nothing. I
- 5:34Speaker 2: don't want to do accomplish anything. I don't want to
- 5:36Speaker 2: clean nothing. I just want to take this time to
- 5:38Speaker 2: do somebody that is super calming to me. And I
- 5:42Speaker 2: think for me now, it's like I'm even in your thirties,
- 5:45Speaker 2: You're still trying to find your place a little bit.
- 5:48Speaker 2: But at the same time, when you have those moments
- 5:52Speaker 2: where you can go game, you can read a book,
- 5:56Speaker 2: you can go I know I've talked about like I
- 5:58Speaker 2: work out a lot more than I did twenties now,
- 6:00Speaker 2: which is crazy, but like I don't in a way
- 6:04Speaker 2: that is soul suthing. But I'm doing that because I
- 6:06Speaker 2: generally enjoy it most because I want to be healthy.
- 6:08Speaker 2: But like gaming, for me, it was just like and
- 6:11Speaker 2: I'm not joking, it was so that was so fucking relaxing.
- 6:16Speaker 3: So it's fair to say that that that's one of
- 6:18Speaker 3: your outlets that really just helps.
- 6:20Speaker 2: You, if anything. To answer your question again, sorry classic
- 6:23Speaker 2: the adhg rambling on here. You appreciate those moments, I
- 6:27Speaker 2: think a lot more now when you just have that time,
- 6:32Speaker 2: not just to yourself, but you have that time where
- 6:34Speaker 2: it's like I can do whatever the fuck I want,
- 6:38Speaker 2: whether if you just want to sit on your ass
- 6:39Speaker 2: and watch TV. I don't watch a lot of TV,
- 6:42Speaker 2: and I have this like weird I don't want to
- 6:45Speaker 2: say guilt, but like unless if I'm not if I'm
- 6:47Speaker 2: watching it with Caitlin, that's one thing. But if I'm
- 6:49Speaker 2: just sitting down watching TV by myself and then like
- 6:51Speaker 2: I'm not eating dinner, I'm not doing anything, I get
- 6:53Speaker 2: this like a weird sense of like, wait, I'm kind
- 6:55Speaker 2: of like wasting my time because I'm not really a
- 6:56Speaker 2: guy who watches TV. I'm not. I mean, sure, I'll
- 6:59Speaker 2: watch Penguin when the show, I'll watch Mandalorian because those
- 7:04Speaker 2: shows intrigue me, but like I don't, I'm not just
- 7:06Speaker 2: I'm more of a movie guy. But like when I
- 7:09Speaker 2: have that time to just be like, oh, I can
- 7:12Speaker 2: do whatever the hell I want. I can go do it,
- 7:13Speaker 2: and I appreciate it more and I think it's and
- 7:15Speaker 2: here's the thing, it is a lot harder to do
- 7:17Speaker 2: that because, like you said, you're older. By this point,
- 7:20Speaker 2: you might be a little more established, but you know,
- 7:21Speaker 2: you're a little more established in your life. That means
- 7:23Speaker 2: you have more responsibilities. And that also goes for your friends,
- 7:28Speaker 2: which is why you always can't just call them up
- 7:30Speaker 2: and hang out from and go get a beer, go
- 7:32Speaker 2: get dinner. You have to and a schedules not or
- 7:36Speaker 2: not not And you have been and that's why I
- 7:39Speaker 2: love it. You have been the biggest proprietor of this
- 7:41Speaker 2: and I mean that a good way and proprietor not
- 7:44Speaker 2: be a good might not be the best word, but
- 7:46Speaker 2: it's laia. I'm gonna say it to you too. It
- 7:48Speaker 2: doesn't matter if you're boomer, alpha, gen Z, millennial, whatever
- 7:53Speaker 2: the then they one alpha.
- 7:54Speaker 3: What are hell's called?
- 7:56Speaker 2: Picking up? Picking up the phone and talking to someone
- 8:00Speaker 2: making plans over the phone. It is so much more rewarding.
- 8:06Speaker 2: It's like, yeah, I mean, god, how many times have
- 8:08Speaker 2: we texted about, oh we should do this thing on
- 8:10Speaker 2: game and stuff like that or we should do this.
- 8:13Speaker 3: But it's like life happens.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Life happens, and texting you forget about it so much easier.
- 8:18Speaker 2: You forget about it. Like when you actually have that
- 8:21Speaker 2: you know, interaction, voice to voice communication, it sticks with
- 8:24Speaker 2: you and it's just it's just so relaxing, and yeah,
- 8:27Speaker 2: you appreciate those moments then where you have that time
- 8:30Speaker 2: to do whatever the hell you want. But the thing is, though, too,
- 8:33Speaker 2: is like when you want to do nothing or not,
- 8:35Speaker 2: when you don't want to do nothing, when you're done
- 8:36Speaker 2: with everything and you want to go relax, sleep or whatever.
- 8:41Speaker 2: No one questions it. I will say, though I can't remember.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Caitlin has said this, and you know him, our friend,
- 8:49Speaker 2: my friend Chad has said this because he turned I
- 8:52Speaker 2: think he's thirty. Remember I think he's my age. He's
- 8:54Speaker 2: thirty two or thirty one. I'm sure he's thirty. I
- 8:57Speaker 2: think he's like six months the oer than I am,
- 8:59Speaker 2: he said, and he's a said like he's done more
- 9:00Speaker 2: in his thirties right now in his twenties, Like thirties
- 9:02Speaker 2: are the new twenties. But it's nicer because we're okay.
- 9:05Speaker 2: So here's the thing. I've traveled more in the last
- 9:07Speaker 2: two years I ever did in my twenties.
- 9:10Speaker 3: Oh yeah, because like you're established, you have yeah, more stability,
- 9:14Speaker 3: you have better income, your debts usually paid off. But
- 9:20Speaker 3: I'm not talking specifically.
- 9:22Speaker 2: But it's just like this, it's like you have you know,
- 9:26Speaker 2: if anything too, it's like you know, what the hell
- 9:29Speaker 2: you want? Yeah, I'm still I'm awful. I'm getting better
- 9:32Speaker 2: at it, especially I've talked about the podcast. I'm doing
- 9:35Speaker 2: therapy and stuff like that, and I really enjoy it.
- 9:38Speaker 2: But like I used to be bad about saying no
- 9:41Speaker 2: or I don't want to do that. I'm still working
- 9:44Speaker 2: on that, but like there's been like it just like
- 9:48Speaker 2: if you would have asked me five years ago if
- 9:51Speaker 2: I would have want to go to Europe, my answer
- 9:54Speaker 2: or Ireland would have been one hundred percent yes, But
- 9:57Speaker 2: like other countries, I would have been like I would
- 10:00Speaker 2: have had that weird doubt or self doubt. Obviously, a
- 10:03Speaker 2: big reason I did go visit a bunch is because
- 10:05Speaker 2: my wife was over there working. And I'm talking right out.
- 10:08Speaker 2: If she wasn't over there, would I've gone over there.
- 10:10Speaker 2: I don't know. I can't answer that, but that definitely
- 10:12Speaker 2: opened the door. But like there were was it. There's
- 10:16Speaker 2: times like her and I have talked about doing things
- 10:19Speaker 2: and like one of us just spy us out, like no,
- 10:20Speaker 2: now not like in the mamment. Not it just doesn't
- 10:22Speaker 2: intrigue me. Because again it's like to say life is
- 10:24Speaker 2: too short. It's like if someone doesn't intrigue me or
- 10:26Speaker 2: excite me, like why would we do it?
- 10:28Speaker 3: And that goes both ways.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Now we won't get to the marriage sop, but there
- 10:32Speaker 2: is compromise, like if your partner wants to do something
- 10:33Speaker 2: you really don't want to do it, it's like, okay, you
- 10:35Speaker 2: know what they do one thing for me, so let
- 10:36Speaker 2: me try some. Maybe I don't have a good time
- 10:38Speaker 2: shit like that, but like yeah, just like I said,
- 10:41Speaker 2: like that two hours, I'm not joking. I cannot tell
- 10:44Speaker 2: you the last time or and it's gonna sound shitty.
- 10:47Speaker 2: It's not like I don't take time for myself. It's
- 10:50Speaker 2: just it's hard to.
- 10:51Speaker 3: Find time for yourself mm hmmm.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Because like going to work, you need to do that,
- 10:56Speaker 2: going to jim some kind of exercise, not that you
- 11:00Speaker 2: should enjoy that, but you need to do that to
- 11:02Speaker 2: stay healthy. And you know, a little long life chores,
- 11:05Speaker 2: other stuff. But like when I have those like two
- 11:07Speaker 2: hours just a game. Oh god, like today's gonna it's
- 11:11Speaker 2: gonna be rough because I'm gonna be working after the
- 11:13Speaker 2: podcast but record here, I gotta do editing, I gotta
- 11:15Speaker 2: do some other stuff. And the whole time I'm gonna
- 11:17Speaker 2: see a little like like you know, desktop, Like I'm like,
- 11:19Speaker 2: click on, you bitch, come on play me. So but yeah, man,
- 11:25Speaker 2: I oh but to answer your question.
- 11:27Speaker 3: Yes, two hours later.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Hours later, classic chuck. At least I interrupt you ship,
- 11:45Speaker 2: but no, it just yeah, you just gotta have fun
- 11:47Speaker 2: with it. But like insally too is like and like
- 11:50Speaker 2: also anird thing. Two somehow was awful at scheduling. Dude,
- 11:53Speaker 2: I schedule ships so far. I oh god, it's so relaxing,
- 11:56Speaker 2: it's so nice.
- 11:57Speaker 3: Yeah, well, and that's it. It's finding your roof. But
- 12:02Speaker 3: I do think what you said, and more importantly, like
- 12:06Speaker 3: it's okay to feel out of place with all that like,
- 12:10Speaker 3: And that is why I brought it up, because while
- 12:12Speaker 3: I was having those same conversations, there was a consistent
- 12:17Speaker 3: undertone of everyone kind of trying to find themselves, and
- 12:22Speaker 3: everyone seemed to kind of feel or present the feeling
- 12:29Speaker 3: that they felt kind of isolated because they were still
- 12:32Speaker 3: figuring things. How but in reality, that is what the
- 12:35Speaker 3: twenties are about.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Correct, And it's okay to feel isolated. It's okay to
- 12:40Speaker 2: not know stuff, like you know, like I've told you
- 12:44Speaker 2: about some of the things I've gone through the past year.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Part of that was because like that whole like identifying
- 12:49Speaker 2: who I am isolation stuff stuff, and it's good. That's good,
- 12:53Speaker 2: you know what I mean? Like or what is it? What?
- 13:00Speaker 2: What does? However? Downey say, you know, part of part
- 13:02Speaker 2: of the journey is the end. Yeah, but the best
- 13:04Speaker 2: part is the journey you take to get there, you
- 13:06Speaker 2: know what I mean? Yeah, Like like I like, yeah, sure,
- 13:08Speaker 2: then you know, the road is great, But you know
- 13:09Speaker 2: what's the best part about getting down the road? The
- 13:11Speaker 2: entire journey there, because that's what happens. Does does everyone? Does?
- 13:14Speaker 2: Everyone like the world of the Reins, right? Yeah? If
- 13:16Speaker 2: you aple enjoy the end, no one really cares about
- 13:18Speaker 2: name want to why because there's like twenty hours of
- 13:20Speaker 2: ship before that to get to that's the best part.
- 13:23Speaker 2: Same with Star Wars, same with anything. I mean, yeah,
- 13:27Speaker 2: it's just it's just it's but here's I think it's
- 13:30Speaker 2: because like you know, we have this you watch movies
- 13:33Speaker 2: or you to hear your parents and not knocking parents,
- 13:35Speaker 2: but like you hear them like say like, oh, this
- 13:37Speaker 2: part of my life and I figured this, I figured
- 13:38Speaker 2: this out. No one, no one has heared it out.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Even people in their forties or fifty still don't have
- 13:42Speaker 2: to shit figure out and that it's okay. Yeah also sorry,
- 13:45Speaker 2: really good yeah day, as long as you got to
- 13:46Speaker 2: rip over your head, you're able to eat and also
- 13:48Speaker 2: have a good time when you can, and then like
- 13:50Speaker 2: life is good. But again, it's okay to feel isolat
- 13:52Speaker 2: or not know what you're doing, because sometimes surprises are the.
- 13:56Speaker 3: Best thing exactly. And I think what often is lost
- 14:01Speaker 3: in today's world is you also don't have to compare
- 14:06Speaker 3: yourself or do things in the same order or in
- 14:10Speaker 3: the same timeframe as other people.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Everyone's journey is different, right, Yeah, Like something like my
- 14:18Speaker 2: wife and I started doing like like we do like
- 14:21Speaker 2: and it's weird. I was never a guy who do
- 14:22Speaker 2: like meal prep like every Sunday is we do we
- 14:25Speaker 2: meal prep food for the week for work and stuff
- 14:27Speaker 2: like that, and we go grocery shopping Saturdays, and like
- 14:30Speaker 2: it's actually really enjoyable because like it's like, okay, we
- 14:33Speaker 2: can do we can do both on one day, but
- 14:35Speaker 2: they'll take the entire day or we split it in half,
- 14:36Speaker 2: and then we can have time to do more fun
- 14:39Speaker 2: things after we're done with like you know, the obligations
- 14:43Speaker 2: of the day, if you will. But and sometimes breaking
- 14:47Speaker 2: the routine is also good too, because it doesn't think
- 14:49Speaker 2: too be. It's like we've only broken routine a couple
- 14:50Speaker 2: of times, and when we did, it's like, oh, you
- 14:52Speaker 2: feel you feel awkward, but it's okay, I'm out of
- 14:56Speaker 2: my routine. So what what am I going to do
- 14:59Speaker 2: to you? What am I gonna do with this time
- 15:00Speaker 2: I have? And that's when you can maybe work on
- 15:02Speaker 2: a project and putting off, that's when you can.
- 15:06Speaker 3: Passion.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Yeah, perfect example I've talked about, like I I'm not
- 15:10Speaker 2: gonna lie to you. I never thought I would be
- 15:12Speaker 2: a reader. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not really a reader. Okay,
- 15:16Speaker 2: I have hand up, I'll admit it. I don't know
- 15:19Speaker 2: why I read the first fourth Win book. Okay, I
- 15:23Speaker 2: could not put I could not put that book down.
- 15:25Speaker 3: I'm on chapter two I read.
- 15:27Speaker 2: I read that first book. I think in like a
- 15:30Speaker 2: couple of weeks. If that second book took me six months,
- 15:36Speaker 2: I don't but I don't know why. I just I
- 15:39Speaker 2: had this. The first book was just so enjoyable. And
- 15:42Speaker 2: I'm not saying I did. I really enjoyed the second one.
- 15:44Speaker 2: I really did, but it just I wasn't being pulled
- 15:47Speaker 2: into it as much. Well, I'm not gonna spoil it.
- 15:49Speaker 2: The first the first book at the ending is really
- 15:51Speaker 2: good and it's like, well, I gotta pick up the
- 15:53Speaker 2: second one. But then the point I'm trying to think
- 15:56Speaker 2: is like now and for some reason, like I think
- 15:58Speaker 2: it was part of it was og Patron told me
- 16:02Speaker 2: about it. It was like three months ago, three or
- 16:07Speaker 2: four months ago. I started reading comic books again and
- 16:11Speaker 2: I read graphic and yes, ladies and gentlemen, yes they are,
- 16:15Speaker 2: they are. They are books serve magazines with big with
- 16:19Speaker 2: with drawings of fighting and action and storytelling, but and
- 16:23Speaker 2: with big words. It's an inside joke, but like, I'm
- 16:26Speaker 2: not joking. I tell you this, dude, some of the
- 16:28Speaker 2: stories I've read in the last four months, I'm literally like,
- 16:31Speaker 2: how the fuck is this not a movie? Because some
- 16:35Speaker 2: of this shit it just I guess That's the thing too,
- 16:37Speaker 2: is like you read like a Batman comic book, You're
- 16:38Speaker 2: gonna go on with this expectation like what it is. No,
- 16:43Speaker 2: it's completely upside down. I'm sure you've heard of the
- 16:47Speaker 2: Absolute series. It is fucking insane. I've only read the
- 16:50Speaker 2: Batman one. It is fucking insane. Like I'm sorry, Batman.
- 16:54Speaker 2: It's not much of a spoiler, but it's really just
- 16:55Speaker 2: simply like Bruce. It's a whole universe Bruce. Wayne's not
- 16:58Speaker 2: a millionaire. His parents his parents were middle barely middle class.
- 17:04Speaker 2: But he still becomes Batman. But he is like six
- 17:08Speaker 2: foot four, three hundred pounds, just fucking muscle. Oh and
- 17:13Speaker 2: his uh, his bat emblem is actually an axe.
- 17:17Speaker 3: That's pretty cool.
- 17:20Speaker 2: But it's just but it's just it's like, excuse me,
- 17:23Speaker 2: it's when you get out of your comfort zone kind
- 17:25Speaker 2: of like with that, it's like you you find new things,
- 17:28Speaker 2: you experience new things and the like. And there's been
- 17:31Speaker 2: times now when I go to like when I when
- 17:32Speaker 2: Caitlyn I go to bookstores, I literally go, oh wow, wait, no,
- 17:35Speaker 2: I can't get that because I have common I have
- 17:38Speaker 2: graphic novels at home. I need to fucking finish reading,
- 17:41Speaker 2: you know what I mean, Like, I have this pile
- 17:43Speaker 2: of I like I got like halfway through, I got
- 17:45Speaker 2: these other ones. I'm like, I still have to read that.
- 17:47Speaker 2: But like and again, it's just as you're going through
- 17:49Speaker 2: life or especially like in your twenties or thirties, like
- 17:52Speaker 2: you just all of a sudden, you just get this
- 17:54Speaker 2: weird urge or discover discovery to like try new things.
- 18:00Speaker 3: I think we're on the same same wavelength tonight, because
- 18:03Speaker 3: that is exactly what where I was kind of headed
- 18:06Speaker 3: with this is because I've been in that exact boat
- 18:10Speaker 3: where one I kind of shifted to only well, I
- 18:13Speaker 3: should say, only prioritizing things that interest me versus just
- 18:16Speaker 3: doing things to do them. And then second, like I
- 18:22Speaker 3: literally went and I borrowed the Fourth Wing Book because
- 18:26Speaker 3: I heard just so many people raving about it and
- 18:30Speaker 3: I was and am genuinely excited to read it, right,
- 18:35Speaker 3: but there seems to be a greater interest in doing
- 18:38Speaker 3: other things at the moment. So I am on chapter
- 18:40Speaker 3: two after like five weeks, and the whole prioritizing what
- 18:50Speaker 3: makes you happy again underrated because we don't know if
- 18:54Speaker 3: we're getting tomorrow. Plain and simple to the audience if
- 18:59Speaker 3: this is a reminder to live your life. Yeah, you
- 19:02Speaker 3: do what makes you happy.
- 19:05Speaker 2: Yes, no, sorry, but no, you're right. You should do
- 19:09Speaker 2: what makes you happy because like, yeah, tow tell me
- 19:10Speaker 2: that tomaw is like you're inteen, it's just you don't
- 19:12Speaker 2: know where're gonna be in six months from that. And
- 19:14Speaker 2: like there's this classic thing on TikTok. Here comes a
- 19:17Speaker 2: dissy adulta me. I forget what the girl calls it,
- 19:20Speaker 2: but essentially it's just like this fear of missing out
- 19:24Speaker 2: on something you want because if you don't buy it's
- 19:26Speaker 2: gonna be gone oh, or it's fomo. But it's like
- 19:30Speaker 2: a there's a different act. It'sentually it's like hey, buy
- 19:32Speaker 2: it now, or it's gonna be like essentially, it's like, hey,
- 19:34Speaker 2: if you don't buy it now, you're never gonna see
- 19:35Speaker 2: it again. And I cannot tell you when Caitlin and
- 19:38Speaker 2: I saw that TikTok, I cannot tell you. We started
- 19:42Speaker 2: like having these like flashbacks of how many times you're like, wow,
- 19:45Speaker 2: that one thing we saw would be really cool to get,
- 19:47Speaker 2: and maybe we're like, okay, you know what, I thought
- 19:49Speaker 2: better of it, let me go looking to buy it
- 19:51Speaker 2: and it's gone, for example, kind of going to like
- 19:56Speaker 2: new hobbies a little bit. I'll fully admit I thought
- 19:59Speaker 2: it was stupid. I thought owning a watch was dumb.
- 20:03Speaker 2: You want know why, because you have one in your pocket,
- 20:06Speaker 2: there's one in your car, there was one on your computer.
- 20:09Speaker 2: But then right before I got married, my beautiful, awesome
- 20:13Speaker 2: wife bought me a watch and i've and I've had
- 20:15Speaker 2: that watch for yours. It's great. And then last Valentine's
- 20:19Speaker 2: Day she got me a very nice watch and I
- 20:22Speaker 2: love it and it's great. And then over like the
- 20:25Speaker 2: last year or so, then I got another watch from
- 20:28Speaker 2: a friend of mine. Clickity klak. He got this really
- 20:31Speaker 2: cool watch from Mexico. And then we were in uh,
- 20:35Speaker 2: we're we're we're in Disney Paris. I know, always gentlemen,
- 20:38Speaker 2: a whole clause for your laughter. We're in Disney Paris
- 20:42Speaker 2: last spring, okay, and we kept It's like it's very
- 20:46Speaker 2: small comparison too, like Orlando. I can't speak for California,
- 20:50Speaker 2: but they had this store and I saw this watch,
- 20:56Speaker 2: drew it was it was it's inspired by the Tower
- 20:58Speaker 2: of Terror. It was too obvious it was Tower of Terror.
- 21:01Speaker 2: But it's like one of those like ones that we
- 21:03Speaker 2: had to like go up close to, like see's like,
- 21:04Speaker 2: oh yeah, that's Tower of Tear. And I thought it
- 21:06Speaker 2: was badass, and I kept thinking like, wow, that's really nice.
- 21:08Speaker 2: I'm like, I actually really liked that watch. I really
- 21:10Speaker 2: like it, but I didn't buy it. It's gone. I
- 21:13Speaker 2: can't find it anywhere, can't find it online. So then
- 21:16Speaker 2: we go back last Christmas and to Paris and I
- 21:21Speaker 2: and we went there. We went there for one day.
- 21:23Speaker 2: We went to Disney for one day, and I literally said,
- 21:26Speaker 2: I'm gonna go buy that watch. He went guys like, yeah,
- 21:31Speaker 2: I know, it's been gone for like months. We haven't
- 21:33Speaker 2: had it. You can't get anywhere. I'm like, yeah, you
- 21:39Speaker 2: can't find anywhere. It's not on their website. It's not
- 21:41Speaker 2: like nothing. Can't find it. I've looked. I literally I
- 21:44Speaker 2: had a photo of it's on my phone and I
- 21:45Speaker 2: you know, did like attach to Google images. There's photos
- 21:48Speaker 2: of it. No one's selling it. Great fucking a. So
- 21:51Speaker 2: then there was this other watch. There was this other watch,
- 21:56Speaker 2: and and I long story short, Kaitlyn literally goes, I
- 22:04Speaker 2: think that watch would like really nice on you, and
- 22:06Speaker 2: I bought it, and I bought it for myself as
- 22:08Speaker 2: somebody like, Hey, I'm gonna you know, as a like
- 22:10Speaker 2: a a commemoration if you will have like like you know,
- 22:14Speaker 2: best Christmas ever, you know, like we did Christmas, you
- 22:16Speaker 2: know for like you know, I was in four different
- 22:20Speaker 2: countries in one month. Yeah, And the problem is I
- 22:24Speaker 2: kept there was like three times I kept like should
- 22:27Speaker 2: I and then like literally Kaitlin's like and she literally
- 22:29Speaker 2: like and I didn't say it, but she literally looked
- 22:32Speaker 2: at me. Because you when you're with your partner for
- 22:33Speaker 2: a long time, they know the cues. She literally goes,
- 22:36Speaker 2: because I didn't mention it her, she goes, this is
- 22:38Speaker 2: gonna be the tower. Teara watch, stop it, go buy it.
- 22:44Speaker 3: Shout out to Kaitlyn. Awesome exactly.
- 22:49Speaker 2: And here's the thing now, I've gone like I used
- 22:52Speaker 2: to think watchers are stupid and literally in the last week,
- 22:55Speaker 2: all I've done, all I've done when I have time,
- 22:57Speaker 2: if I'm not reading a comic book, if I'm not
- 22:59Speaker 2: playing two hours you on a video game, worry in
- 23:01Speaker 2: my comic books, I like my wa my algorithm just
- 23:04Speaker 2: watches and going into the last thing the next Sorry,
- 23:08Speaker 2: I want to let you continue. I just Felise, I
- 23:10Speaker 2: took coover years back here, I got myself another watch, okay,
- 23:14Speaker 2: which I said to you as a commemoration. And then
- 23:16Speaker 2: I've kind of it's not it's not like a big
- 23:19Speaker 2: c rady like I've kind of a lot to it.
- 23:20Speaker 2: I got diagnosed with ADHD. I've said that multiple times.
- 23:23Speaker 2: Listen to podcasts. You've heard it there.
- 23:25Speaker 1: It is.
- 23:25Speaker 2: Some people don't know it.
- 23:26Speaker 1: Now you know it.
- 23:26Speaker 2: But like I bought it as a way like, hey,
- 23:31Speaker 2: there's what it is. Cool. Well, like, hey, you know
- 23:34Speaker 2: what I went through all the all the evaluation stuff
- 23:36Speaker 2: like that, and that's what we came to great. You
- 23:39Speaker 2: know what I bought this way and remind myself, Hey,
- 23:42Speaker 2: I'm still me, I'm still awesome. Nothing's changing, I mean
- 23:44Speaker 2: something like nothing's changing.
- 23:46Speaker 3: That's because you've you've taken a stride to better your life.
- 23:50Speaker 2: Correct And also again I fear of messing out. You
- 23:54Speaker 2: can't buy the watch anymore.
- 23:56Speaker 3: See, and that is when it from being an impulse
- 24:02Speaker 3: to an investment.
- 24:03Speaker 2: Exactly, Ladies and Jimen.
- 24:05Speaker 3: That was not pure financial advice.
- 24:09Speaker 2: This show was not a show to take serious financial
- 24:12Speaker 2: advice from. Please consult a financial professional for any financial adventures.
- 24:19Speaker 3: In my opinion, though, that is a rare circumstance where
- 24:23Speaker 3: now you probably have increased value because.
- 24:27Speaker 2: Got it, got it way on sale, and like and
- 24:30Speaker 2: I'm not joking, like I'm not saying I bought the
- 24:33Speaker 2: last one, but like when it goes on sale on
- 24:37Speaker 2: Amazon for more than fifty percent off, and then this
- 24:41Speaker 2: is where I got scared. You got taken off Amazon.
- 24:44Speaker 2: This is the one I sent you. It got taken
- 24:46Speaker 2: off Amazon, and I got nervous. So they went on
- 24:48Speaker 2: their website and it said and it literally said almost
- 24:52Speaker 2: sold out, and I swear to god, I bought it,
- 24:55Speaker 2: got confirmation. I went back on into like let's see
- 24:58Speaker 2: if it's so low? Yeah, said no longer available, and
- 25:00Speaker 2: I said, did I get the last If I didn't,
- 25:04Speaker 2: it's in the top five, damn. But again it's just
- 25:08Speaker 2: going back. It's like, yeah, you just get these you
- 25:11Speaker 2: and who knows, maybe in three months, I know, I
- 25:13Speaker 2: never want to look at watches again.
- 25:15Speaker 3: Who knows.
- 25:16Speaker 2: But it's like we're living the now, don't live in
- 25:19Speaker 2: three months.
- 25:19Speaker 3: Now.
- 25:20Speaker 2: Sure, some things you should plan out for not later,
- 25:23Speaker 2: you know, like save up invest in certain things, like
- 25:25Speaker 2: you know, like we're trying to do our house stuff
- 25:27Speaker 2: for Drew is trying to you know, like he will
- 25:30Speaker 2: get to your investment here. You made it in a
- 25:31Speaker 2: little bit. But it's like you can't think for long term.
- 25:34Speaker 2: But also you should. Also you gotta have a bounce
- 25:38Speaker 2: because like you said, it's gonna I hate to say it.
- 25:41Speaker 2: I don't I'm trying to scare your here, you're going
- 25:44Speaker 2: to your thirties. Your twenties are gone like that, like
- 25:47Speaker 2: it's gone. I'm not saying you have a good time.
- 25:50Speaker 2: You have a thousand memories, but it's like way now
- 25:52Speaker 2: you're now you're in this next chapter, and it's telling
- 25:55Speaker 2: you heat the changer it thing. It's like like, oh,
- 25:56Speaker 2: if you want to bed by nine o'clock, now I
- 25:58Speaker 2: know you already go to bed by nine o'clock.
- 26:00Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, prioritize sleep people. It's huge.
- 26:04Speaker 2: Oh god, it's life changing. Oh man. But yeah, dude,
- 26:09Speaker 2: it's just you gotta you gotta enjoy life.
- 26:12Speaker 3: You gotta have no I think that that's something the
- 26:16Speaker 3: message of this call because all too often, myself included,
- 26:24Speaker 3: it's too easy to just forget and be grateful for
- 26:28Speaker 3: you have in the world.
- 26:30Speaker 2: Because and I also think sometimes we also need to
- 26:33Speaker 2: and I'm not gonna say certain names, we need to
- 26:35Speaker 2: pull people out of those I'm not saying rev. Sometimes
- 26:38Speaker 2: everyone's different. I once heard a famous athlete it might
- 26:42Speaker 2: have been JJ Watt or they I don't want to
- 26:44Speaker 2: think their name starts with the J, but they literally said,
- 26:48Speaker 2: every single person is their own model version of a car.
- 26:52Speaker 2: All they all have different things they need or they
- 26:54Speaker 2: can't have nor turn more properly. And sometimes I think
- 26:58Speaker 2: certain people, and I'll be the first said, sometimes I
- 27:00Speaker 2: need it. Sometimes we just need I'm not saying me
- 27:03Speaker 2: reached out to for like help, just reach out to like,
- 27:05Speaker 2: hey man, what are you doing? What's going on?
- 27:06Speaker 1: MM?
- 27:07Speaker 2: When to go get a beer? Or we want to
- 27:08Speaker 2: go get up McDonald's burg or something like that, because
- 27:11Speaker 2: unfortunately we live in this age where it's like we
- 27:13Speaker 2: just like text each other what's going on? And I
- 27:15Speaker 2: think in our thirties it's gonna be you get more
- 27:17Speaker 2: of that whole Like no, they should let me, let me.
- 27:19Speaker 3: Call Drew, let me call ogy Patron, let me let
- 27:23Speaker 3: me just do the chat on the phone.
- 27:25Speaker 2: On the phone, hey man, what's going on? Like I'm back,
- 27:27Speaker 2: Like I talked to og was on the podcast last week.
- 27:31Speaker 2: The week prior him around on the phone, we talked
- 27:33Speaker 2: for almost three hours. Had no again, had no idea.
- 27:37Speaker 2: It was three hours. Not a fucking clue.
- 27:42Speaker 3: That's a good conversation.
- 27:44Speaker 2: Well it was. But to the point we were both went,
- 27:46Speaker 2: ship should be recorded.
- 27:50Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a three couple episodes exactly.
- 27:52Speaker 2: That's two episodes right there. It was only two hours
- 27:54Speaker 2: a half most for episodes. But yeah, dude, it's just
- 27:57Speaker 2: you gotta enjoy life, have fun. It was as you said, risk,
- 28:02Speaker 2: I think that's the thing, like you got, people need
- 28:04Speaker 2: to walk around more with fomo because, like I said,
- 28:08Speaker 2: like I do, I regret not getting that watch. What
- 28:13Speaker 2: now come up in the ear from ag Yeah, but
- 28:16Speaker 2: you know what, I got this really nice. I got this.
- 28:19Speaker 2: I'm not gonna say it. I mean, it's a nice watch,
- 28:20Speaker 2: but it's not like it's not like you know. And
- 28:22Speaker 2: by the way, later, by the way, I think buying
- 28:24Speaker 2: watches they're like Rolexes all the respect. I don't like
- 28:27Speaker 2: that because I'm sorry buying a thing on your risk
- 28:29Speaker 2: with a car. But again, but if that's your thing,
- 28:34Speaker 2: that's your thing. Coming from the guy who's saying don't
- 28:36Speaker 2: get a Rolex that's worth a car. When I have
- 28:39Speaker 2: enough funkal pops to probably suffocate a.
- 28:41Speaker 3: Guy and or buy a car.
- 28:46Speaker 2: You don't even go down to that.
- 28:50Speaker 3: Uh, A mid tier car A legend.
- 28:58Speaker 4: Kaitlyn's gonna love that one. Yeah, if he doesn't ever
- 29:05Speaker 4: need a car, I like to paint in cash.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Hi.
- 29:13Speaker 2: Yes, so we're here today, So here you're looking at
- 29:16Speaker 2: interest in the jep Wrangler.
- 29:17Speaker 3: Yes, I am.
- 29:18Speaker 2: What kind of cleto do you? Guy? How much were
- 29:21Speaker 2: talking here? How about how does this look? Take a
- 29:25Speaker 2: thousand and off and I can have it here right away?
- 29:26Speaker 3: Really?
- 29:26Speaker 2: With what you got that kind of money?
- 29:28Speaker 3: Funkel pops? Do you accept funk However, you never said
- 29:33Speaker 3: what type of currency and sees the rare ones?
- 29:38Speaker 2: Okay, well except and for any for any financial people listening. No,
- 29:42Speaker 2: I do not have enough funkle pops to buy a
- 29:44Speaker 2: jeep Wrangler.
- 29:47Speaker 3: Yeah, everyone would be like, I'm looking up here.
- 29:50Speaker 2: Like what's that?
- 29:51Speaker 3: Let's do? What's he said?
- 29:53Speaker 2: Your cargo.
- 29:57Speaker 3: California?
- 29:58Speaker 2: Oh yeah, he's oh.
- 29:59Speaker 3: No, no, no, he moved to Germany.
- 30:05Speaker 2: Shit band. You just gotta you just gotta not call
- 30:09Speaker 2: for one. You just gotta have fun And here's the
- 30:12Speaker 2: thing too. One thing I've definitely learned in my thirties is,
- 30:16Speaker 2: as you say, like you fill out of place, the isolation.
- 30:19Speaker 2: I also say this to embrace the bad times when
- 30:22Speaker 2: you're feeling down. I'm not saying go down, go down
- 30:25Speaker 2: to the deepest, darkest pit, but just don't hold it in, man,
- 30:28Speaker 2: let the shit out, get it out of you.
- 30:30Speaker 3: Explore those feelings.
- 30:31Speaker 2: Yeah, explore that ship and get it out of you,
- 30:33Speaker 2: because like I said, like, uh, it's not just this,
- 30:38Speaker 2: it's not healthy. It's just like it's not it's not
- 30:40Speaker 2: worth your time. Sure you might learn something from it,
- 30:42Speaker 2: but it's like, Okay, you can be sad and MOPI
- 30:45Speaker 2: for eight hours all day or you you know, literally
- 30:48Speaker 2: go in shower, have a good cry. An hour and
- 30:49Speaker 2: a half later, you're like, okay, correat, I'm good now.
- 30:52Speaker 2: Not that everyone not that every sorry, not that everyone's
- 30:54Speaker 2: like like that. You know, some people need a little
- 30:56Speaker 2: more time, which is okay. But I'm saying just just embrace,
- 30:58Speaker 2: embrace the suck, and let's get through it. And then
- 31:02Speaker 2: oh it's the afternoon, killing me go outside.
- 31:05Speaker 3: Yeah, especially to the male listeners, like it's not talked
- 31:12Speaker 3: about it as much amongst our male groups. But it
- 31:16Speaker 3: is perfectly okay to explore your feelings, have a cry,
- 31:22Speaker 3: tell your boys you love them or that you need
- 31:24Speaker 3: them perfectly okay, oh yeah.
- 31:28Speaker 2: Like because he, as you said, Toronto zoccharatt Or a
- 31:31Speaker 2: perfect example, I don't bring much on them. I didn't
- 31:34Speaker 2: know him that well from Bartol, Cody, Beef, Frankie. I
- 31:39Speaker 2: hadn't talked to him in eight years and he's going
- 31:43Speaker 2: And it was one of those like ones where I
- 31:45Speaker 2: was like, shit, I regret now, especially when it because
- 31:47Speaker 2: he like when he moved back to Chicago. I was like, damn,
- 31:49Speaker 2: I really regret now reaching now and just be like yeah,
- 31:52Speaker 2: and here's the thing and now like I didn't have
- 31:54Speaker 2: a shoot. He was he he was very good friends
- 31:57Speaker 2: with a very good friend of mine. And it's like
- 31:59Speaker 2: damn and like and again as when I went to
- 32:02Speaker 2: his funeral, I just like kept saying myself, son of
- 32:04Speaker 2: a bitch, not to like I buy a ball, like
- 32:06Speaker 2: the son of a bitch should have called him m hm,
- 32:08Speaker 2: because again you don't know, you don't know, you know.
- 32:11Speaker 3: So I don't think anyone will ever regret making the call,
- 32:17Speaker 3: but almost everyone will regret.
- 32:19Speaker 2: Not making the call even if I called him and
- 32:22Speaker 2: he told me not that he would, but he told
- 32:23Speaker 2: him like no, thanks, like because he wasn't that kind
- 32:25Speaker 2: of guy. Like if he said that, like it was like, hey,
- 32:27Speaker 2: you know what against the whole like at least I
- 32:29Speaker 2: tried do we literally do or do not? Enough of
- 32:32Speaker 2: this try card like do or do not? Like you
- 32:34Speaker 2: pick up the phone or you don't pick up the phone,
- 32:36Speaker 2: but doesn't do it because again, like like what what
- 32:38Speaker 2: what we got to lose two minutes? Like he we
- 32:40Speaker 2: don't talk? Okay, great, we go ball our business or
- 32:43Speaker 2: our our talk is like oh wow, like we haven't
- 32:46Speaker 2: we haven't talked like eight years. Let's catch up, you know,
- 32:51Speaker 2: like with og og Patron. I like here's the thing, like, yeah,
- 32:53Speaker 2: he's my oldest friend. Him and I do not talk
- 32:55Speaker 2: all that often because again it's just life m hm.
- 32:58Speaker 2: And I talked to you almost every.
- 32:59Speaker 3: Day, and that's because we had a couple of group chats.
- 33:03Speaker 2: A couple of group chats of other things. But like
- 33:04Speaker 2: but it's just still but what do we got to lose?
- 33:09Speaker 2: You know? But yeah, but and it's also on things too.
- 33:14Speaker 2: It's like this is one thing I would say to
- 33:16Speaker 2: you too. The answer call back to your question you
- 33:18Speaker 2: asked forty five minutes ago, I was on rambling on
- 33:19Speaker 2: still is you also need to make sure you prioritize
- 33:25Speaker 2: that stuff, because it's stuff that if it means that
- 33:27Speaker 2: much you, you'll find a way to do it. Mm hmmm,
- 33:31Speaker 2: something my wife and I now do. And this was
- 33:33Speaker 2: her idea, which is brilliant.
- 33:35Speaker 1: Man.
- 33:35Speaker 2: I'm just really really happy with my wife here as
- 33:39Speaker 2: I should we do Thursday date nights. And they're great,
- 33:45Speaker 2: they're fun and a big reason we picked Thursday. It
- 33:48Speaker 2: was a perfect idea. I was like, well, we'll just
- 33:50Speaker 2: do Friday. She goes, okay, well what happens with when
- 33:52Speaker 2: this one Friday so and so wants to go for
- 33:54Speaker 2: dinner or and she always had what we happens I
- 33:57Speaker 2: Drew comes into town that Friday. It's like, okay, great,
- 34:00Speaker 2: Thursdays a weekday. No one's gonna be doing anything or
- 34:03Speaker 2: no one's gonna be like trying to do stuff for
- 34:04Speaker 2: plan stuff other than the occasional like oh it happens
- 34:08Speaker 2: to be so and So's birthday. Oh okay, we'll do exactly.
- 34:12Speaker 2: But like Thursday, like it's just been it's been fun.
- 34:16Speaker 2: But again, the part of it is like we prioritize that,
- 34:18Speaker 2: and like I prioritize my podcast. I worked pretty much.
- 34:22Speaker 2: I've been recording every Tuesday. Now it's fun. Now I
- 34:24Speaker 2: need to do that with voice acting because I really want,
- 34:26Speaker 2: I really enjoy it.
- 34:27Speaker 3: I need to do it.
- 34:29Speaker 2: But like it just you gotta prioritize. You gotta prioritize
- 34:33Speaker 2: the things that you want to do and love because
- 34:36Speaker 2: like if again, I know, sorry, I know, there's a
- 34:42Speaker 2: few people in my life. They know who they are.
- 34:44Speaker 2: They hate this statement. And this is from my dad.
- 34:47Speaker 2: And as I get older, I realize the more and
- 34:50Speaker 2: more I get older and I realize that shit like
- 34:53Speaker 2: it's not just a little joke. He says this a lot.
- 34:55Speaker 2: He goes, take care of your ship, I'll take care
- 34:57Speaker 2: of you. It's not just like hey, take care of
- 35:00Speaker 2: your car. I'll take care of It's like, hey, take
- 35:02Speaker 2: care of like you know, like hey, take care of
- 35:04Speaker 2: your podcast. It's gonna take care of you back because
- 35:06Speaker 2: you're gonna enjoy it more. Take care of it. It's
- 35:07Speaker 2: just little things like that. It's gonna build up because,
- 35:09Speaker 2: like I said, I in my twenties, I hate it
- 35:11Speaker 2: going to the gym. Now, when I don't go to
- 35:13Speaker 2: the gym, I'm an asshole because I genuinely enjoy going there. Hell,
- 35:19Speaker 2: I started, your body does too, Yeah, I started. I
- 35:21Speaker 2: started boxing three weeks ago and I'm like, damn it,
- 35:23Speaker 2: why did I stop doing this? This is fun? Not
- 35:27Speaker 2: sure will I do what? I fucking hate myself, But
- 35:30Speaker 2: afterwards I feel.
- 35:31Speaker 3: Great, Oh god, ba man, Yeah, make your body.
- 35:36Speaker 2: Answer to your question and if I was, if I
- 35:40Speaker 2: was a politician, the interview had over fifteen minutes ago,
- 35:42Speaker 2: and to be like, wow, he really winded that question
- 35:45Speaker 2: to get out of this.
- 35:48Speaker 3: Like you said earlier, it's not about the indestination but
- 35:51Speaker 3: the journey.
- 35:51Speaker 2: Thank you see, And that's.
- 35:55Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, oh no, but it's true. I mean, I'm
- 36:01Speaker 3: glad we had like the open format tonight because I
- 36:04Speaker 3: feel like we touched on a lot of topics that
- 36:09Speaker 3: especially younger men aren't really comfortable or used to talking about.
- 36:14Speaker 3: And you know, to reiterate what we've said all this
- 36:18Speaker 3: podcast is, it's okay, it's normal. Yeah, however you're feeling,
- 36:25Speaker 3: you know, and if you're still feeling unsure, nervous, scared,
- 36:30Speaker 3: even that's okay too, it's okay to ask for help.
- 36:35Speaker 2: There's there's a famous out of Chicago said, there's nothing
- 36:38Speaker 2: more there's nothing more courageous or brave than picking up
- 36:41Speaker 2: the phone asking someone for help.
- 36:43Speaker 3: Mm hmm.
- 36:43Speaker 2: That's the first step. And it's not saying like oh,
- 36:45Speaker 2: it like, oh I need help, I'm a desperate different.
- 36:47Speaker 5: It's like no, just like hey, I don't know what
- 36:49Speaker 5: to do, or like I'm in this spot or I'm
- 36:52Speaker 5: lone ship like that, just pick up the phone, like
- 36:55Speaker 5: who can like look aly like there's like here's the
- 36:57Speaker 5: thing and I need to do this through.
- 36:58Speaker 2: There's I don't know how many phone numbers on my
- 37:00Speaker 2: phone that I have not talked to in years years.
- 37:04Speaker 2: Don't know why they're still in there. I mean obviously
- 37:06Speaker 2: because you know you keep your phone number and all
- 37:07Speaker 2: that's it. But it's just like I guarantee, like there's
- 37:11Speaker 2: phone numbers in there. People like oh you probably like,
- 37:13Speaker 2: oh yeah, we're gonna be we're gonna be really good
- 37:15Speaker 2: friends and a no Probert and that's okay. But it's like, hey,
- 37:19Speaker 2: you know what, maybe I'll call maybe randomly calm and
- 37:21Speaker 2: they'd be like, hey, man, I haven't talked to you
- 37:23Speaker 2: in fifteen years ke and they're like they're like and
- 37:28Speaker 2: you know, and that's a being a different person's voice, Like,
- 37:31Speaker 2: who the fuck are you?
- 37:35Speaker 3: You're not ted?
- 37:39Speaker 2: Oh shit, I end up calling one of those scam
- 37:42Speaker 2: collection agency companies.
- 37:44Speaker 3: Don't get me started on those.
- 37:47Speaker 2: They're like, it's not supposed to be a seguay.
- 37:54Speaker 4: I swear to.
- 37:59Speaker 3: Uh thankfully, I'm not freaking out. But for context, everybody,
- 38:07Speaker 3: I woke up this morning to an online protection service
- 38:13Speaker 3: notifying that someone opened a credit card in my name
- 38:16Speaker 3: which I did not open. So that is why Charlie
- 38:19Speaker 3: is geeking out. Yeah again, take care of your stuff
- 38:26Speaker 3: or takes care of you.
- 38:28Speaker 2: Kind of going back to my said earlier than the
- 38:29Speaker 2: literally call back, it's not I'm sorry, it's not funny,
- 38:35Speaker 2: but it's funny. Then I talk about you making that
- 38:37Speaker 2: investment in something where you bought let's just say, okay,
- 38:40Speaker 2: Drew boy himself a mega PC and less than a
- 38:44Speaker 2: week later, this ship means.
- 38:46Speaker 3: You, well, you're actually not wrong there, like like what
- 38:54Speaker 3: the fuck?
- 38:55Speaker 6: Like why like, oh god, I just I just remember
- 39:00Speaker 6: where the amount of times throughout college or even like
- 39:05Speaker 6: in my professional life where.
- 39:06Speaker 2: We get those calls like oh, you know, so calling
- 39:09Speaker 2: regarding your here's the thing. There are so many ways
- 39:12Speaker 2: now for you to keep track of your information, good
- 39:18Speaker 2: and bad. Mind you, but like about like your credit
- 39:21Speaker 2: and stuff like that, where it's like, because it's the
- 39:24Speaker 2: anytime I get anytime I get those phone calls, which
- 39:26Speaker 2: thank god, hold on, I haven't gotten one, but now
- 39:28Speaker 2: that my phone is next to me listening to everything,
- 39:30Speaker 2: I say, I'm gonna get twenty tomorrow. But like anytime
- 39:32Speaker 2: I got those calls, I would just go tell one
- 39:34Speaker 2: those like credit check apps like that you get with
- 39:36Speaker 2: like most of your banks for free, and just go,
- 39:37Speaker 2: oh no nothing, they're cold, fake block this number, dude.
- 39:43Speaker 3: They're they're getting real good though. The AI calls are
- 39:47Speaker 3: crazy good.
- 39:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I do you remember, I can't remember what it was.
- 39:55Speaker 2: It was a government agency they put that thing years agore.
- 39:57Speaker 2: It's like if you put this number on your website,
- 40:00Speaker 2: spa like scam spammers are not allowed to call you
- 40:03Speaker 2: or something like that. And then of course what happened.
- 40:06Speaker 2: It got hacked. In leagues they call poor sould. Remember
- 40:13Speaker 2: when I read the report, I'm like, uh, it's all
- 40:15Speaker 2: you put in your personal informations, just like your phone
- 40:17Speaker 2: number and stuff like that. But like I remember, I
- 40:19Speaker 2: was like, oh, well here it comes, yeah the title
- 40:24Speaker 2: Actually no, juck. I literally had one the other day
- 40:26Speaker 2: where they claimed to be my phone provider. Okay, spoiler,
- 40:31Speaker 2: it wasn't a company that I had my phone, So
- 40:34Speaker 2: that right there a red flag and they're like, we're
- 40:36Speaker 2: calling to confirm your charge of and of course and
- 40:39Speaker 2: it's never a real person, it's automates. It was like,
- 40:41Speaker 2: of three thousand, six hundred three dollars. First of all,
- 40:48Speaker 2: what phone did I buy? That's three grand?
- 40:52Speaker 3: The Dex super Mega Edition.
- 40:54Speaker 2: Apparently apparently I bought Elon Musk's iphoned forty five whatever.
- 41:01Speaker 2: And of course it's like, you know, please call us back.
- 41:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:02Speaker 2: Yet it's like you know, like yeah, but and again
- 41:07Speaker 2: but as you said, like yeah, they are. Fortunately, they're
- 41:09Speaker 2: always gonna be tricky and they're always gonna be calling
- 41:11Speaker 2: the easily manipulating that not and that not that it's
- 41:14Speaker 2: a bad Oftentimes there's just people who don't know they
- 41:16Speaker 2: don't know it, or they're unfortunately older and stuff like that,
- 41:20Speaker 2: and it just sucks because it's like you're an asshole.
- 41:23Speaker 3: If you do that shit, h just be a nice person.
- 41:25Speaker 3: People wise man.
- 41:27Speaker 2: One said, it's nice to be important, but it's more
- 41:29Speaker 2: poor to be nice.
- 41:30Speaker 3: It's also hard to be nice.
- 41:32Speaker 2: It's not hard at all. I mean again, and I
- 41:35Speaker 2: actually I never have you been on since Germany, since
- 41:40Speaker 2: you and I or yeah, since you and I were
- 41:42Speaker 2: in Germany. No, I don't think so, here's a good,
- 41:46Speaker 2: here's a good okay, No, no time to turn to
- 41:48Speaker 2: the turn tables up turn What did you think I'm
- 41:51Speaker 2: not gonna okay? The culture, it's a little bit difficult
- 41:53Speaker 2: to ask that because you were there obviously during the time.
- 41:55Speaker 2: Everyone's like, yeah, we're happy. It's our Christmas whatever, not Christmas,
- 41:58Speaker 2: it's our October Fest. Yeah. Yeah, did you experience.
- 42:03Speaker 3: Any like.
- 42:05Speaker 2: And again I'm not trying to be rude to the culture,
- 42:07Speaker 2: did you experience anyone being essentially like really short with
- 42:10Speaker 2: you just because maybe you were too nice? Like how
- 42:14Speaker 2: I've alluded to sometimes that, like, you know, I would
- 42:15Speaker 2: go to grocery stores or restaurants and I would hold
- 42:18Speaker 2: the door open for people and they would not only
- 42:21Speaker 2: not walk in, they would be either look like I
- 42:23Speaker 2: just spit on their mother's shoes.
- 42:26Speaker 3: Thankfully. No, that's I also didn't talk to a whole
- 42:32Speaker 3: lot of people. That's what's U.
- 42:36Speaker 2: But hey, you got to do october Fest and see
- 42:39Speaker 2: the what was it castle Nechewan always fore them. Yeah,
- 42:44Speaker 2: you had a good time. You have to experience outside
- 42:49Speaker 2: the United States.
- 42:50Speaker 3: Some fine, Diman, Oh God, take.
- 42:54Speaker 2: Me back, dude. I will say this. So, like I said,
- 42:58Speaker 2: I talked about like how we're prepping and stuff like
- 43:00Speaker 2: that now and we really don't eat bread. We don't
- 43:05Speaker 2: eat pasta, which for Kayla and I that's literally like
- 43:08Speaker 2: nails and chalkboard because we love pasta. And it's been
- 43:12Speaker 2: very difficult. But like, yeah, dude, there's been. There's been.
- 43:15Speaker 2: Like she she she she she'll laugh at this. She
- 43:18Speaker 2: went over there and she's like, hey, is there anything
- 43:21Speaker 2: you want me.
- 43:21Speaker 3: To bring back?
- 43:22Speaker 2: I said, you go to that Duner place, wrap wrapped
- 43:27Speaker 2: it up and brint it home. She's like, Charlie, my
- 43:29Speaker 2: bag will smell, will smell. I'll just will smell so
- 43:32Speaker 2: bad of just doner that like t s A will
- 43:35Speaker 2: probably pull my bag. I really said, it's worth the risk.
- 43:40Speaker 3: That is that is the only thing that I wish
- 43:44Speaker 3: I had done that we didn't do what.
- 43:48Speaker 2: Yeah, you and I got talking about we just never.
- 43:51Speaker 3: Oh when when I got sick that kind of ruined.
- 43:55Speaker 2: You did get really sick and then you left, and
- 43:59Speaker 2: what's your The thing doesn't make sense. I don't know
- 44:00Speaker 2: how I didn't get sick. I think I maybe had
- 44:03Speaker 2: a sore throat for like a day and a half
- 44:05Speaker 2: if that by after you left, she got sick, and
- 44:09Speaker 2: then like and Karen Chadd and by look and they
- 44:11Speaker 2: didn't get sick. So I don't know what that will happened.
- 44:13Speaker 2: But I think don't know if I told this when
- 44:15Speaker 2: I came home. Actually I know I told you. I
- 44:17Speaker 2: didn't say much when I came home when we came
- 44:19Speaker 2: home home after bringer home from Christmas, like, and I
- 44:23Speaker 2: was sick for like four or five days. That is
- 44:25Speaker 2: the sickest I said I have been since I have
- 44:27Speaker 2: flou pos since twenty twenty, and I think I lost
- 44:32Speaker 2: what was it when I was on the scale? I
- 44:35Speaker 2: think when I weighed myself, because that's why I do
- 44:37Speaker 2: a lot. And that's the thing too, is I used
- 44:39Speaker 2: to be really extensive about my weight. I'm probably better
- 44:41Speaker 2: about that, but like I like weigh myself and like
- 44:43Speaker 2: I literally weigh myself because it's like, oh hey, I'm
- 44:45Speaker 2: back from Europe. How much weight did I lose? Like,
- 44:48Speaker 2: oh wow, awesome weight? And literally this is how thing
- 44:53Speaker 2: I was after that weekend. I lost eighteen pounds.
- 44:57Speaker 3: Wait, wait, an additional eighteen Yeah, from house sick. That's
- 45:03Speaker 3: that's a lot.
- 45:04Speaker 2: It was a little dangerous. Fine, yeah, because I remember.
- 45:08Speaker 2: I remember, like I literally had my phone. I kept
- 45:10Speaker 2: like writing it down to be like, Okay, this is
- 45:12Speaker 2: what I was when I got home. And then because
- 45:15Speaker 2: like when I like, what I usually do is like
- 45:16Speaker 2: after I go in the sun, I'll weigh myself, which
- 45:18Speaker 2: it really doesn't do much at first, but I literally remember,
- 45:21Speaker 2: like I woke up the next day, my first night
- 45:23Speaker 2: back home, and I woke up and I'm like, wow,
- 45:26Speaker 2: I am sweating growth really bad. I I know, and
- 45:31Speaker 2: I weighed myself, so I thankfully don't. I don't unless
- 45:34Speaker 2: it's like super duper hot and there's like no air conditioning.
- 45:36Speaker 2: I don't sweat. I don't sweat. I sweat. I don't
- 45:38Speaker 2: sweat when I sleep, and I like like lost five pounds.
- 45:42Speaker 2: I'm like and I felt like CRAPM like oh that's weird.
- 45:44Speaker 2: And then like yeah, by the end of the week,
- 45:46Speaker 2: I was like fifty. I was like, it was eighteen
- 45:48Speaker 2: pounds when it was all said and done, and then
- 45:49Speaker 2: that's when I gained it all back. But I gained
- 45:51Speaker 2: some of it bad because obviously, like you need to
- 45:52Speaker 2: get back to normal and ship but not fun.
- 45:58Speaker 3: This is your thirties, yeah, as I say, and everyone
- 46:01Speaker 3: another reason to take care of your body exactly.
- 46:06Speaker 2: Oh god, uh all right, we can get out of here.
- 46:10Speaker 2: I know we've gone a little bit longer. I want
- 46:13Speaker 2: to thank you for coming back on it's been a while.
- 46:15Speaker 2: Shags of love. This is the thing every here's one
- 46:19Speaker 2: thing too, And this is the thing I love most
- 46:21Speaker 2: about you, is like you've always stayed yourself and like
- 46:24Speaker 2: that's the thing even like with regardless of like what
- 46:26Speaker 2: age you are, always stay true to yourself of course,
- 46:30Speaker 2: but like every single different friend like your can't Charlie mewing,
- 46:35Speaker 2: or can't I can't always out here in a second,
- 46:38Speaker 2: like oh you're fine. That's like all of our friends
- 46:43Speaker 2: are different in their own unique way. But it's like
- 46:44Speaker 2: that's cool. That's why I think it's good for people
- 46:46Speaker 2: to like explore different things, like for example, okay, I
- 46:50Speaker 2: love them to death. I think you can meet Joe
- 46:52Speaker 2: is a very much different person than I am. Absolutely, yeah, Patrick,
- 46:57Speaker 2: Patrick is a little bit different than you are. And
- 47:00Speaker 2: it's like, it's good to have those like, I don't
- 47:02Speaker 2: want to say different, it's good to have those different
- 47:04Speaker 2: personalities to vipe it because it helps you build a
- 47:06Speaker 2: little bit of a character too. But you expose exactly.
- 47:10Speaker 2: But also, you know, don't be afraid to reach out
- 47:13Speaker 2: to ask for not even just help, just to say hey,
- 47:16Speaker 2: or just check in with your friends and family. Also too,
- 47:21Speaker 2: this one I want to point out too, because I've
- 47:22Speaker 2: been very bad at this. If you see someone struggling,
- 47:28Speaker 2: help them up, you know what, I want to help them.
- 47:30Speaker 3: Up, check in with them, start a dialogue.
- 47:34Speaker 2: Start a dialogue. So if we say hello, you know what,
- 47:36Speaker 2: because again you know what's gonna happen tomorrow. So on
- 47:40Speaker 2: that note, thanks for coming. You can, of course anytime
- 47:45Speaker 2: you can find us at Chuck's Cantina on your socials
- 47:48Speaker 2: Chucks or what is that? Let's see on socials it's Instagram, Facebook,
- 47:52Speaker 2: Twitter X no longer LAPS. I guess Laps is no more.
- 47:57Speaker 2: I got an email saying they're gone, change out of
- 48:00Speaker 2: the bile and yeah, and I'll probably do. I said
- 48:03Speaker 2: I'm gonna do further some point, although I start taking
- 48:06Speaker 2: a jail dot com Any tall support this episode two
- 48:11Speaker 2: oh one celebrate two hundred last week. It's ready to
- 48:14Speaker 2: say it would have been here.
- 48:15Speaker 7: By now if I wasn't gone. But it's okay, riveritize
- 48:19Speaker 7: yourself for other things.
- 48:21Speaker 2: Tell you okay, take care, not bye bye then bye.
