- 0:08Speaker 1: on w or.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to Bill and Idaho. Bill,
- 0:20Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 0:22Speaker 1: I'm Mark. I useduld be Bill from Pennsylvania, but I
- 0:25Speaker 1: moved out to Cordelane, Idaho, which is quiet, very white.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Well why in why'd you move? Why'd you move to Idaho?
- 0:38Speaker 1: Just for the quiet? No taxes? Uh, you know, but
- 0:42Speaker 1: it turned out I have Irish skin and I passed
- 0:45Speaker 1: for swarthy out here.
- 0:47Speaker 2: All right, that's good. Nobody knows what hell you're talking about.
- 0:51Speaker 2: The well, you know, Foster Brooks Junior here, it's a
- 0:55Speaker 2: happy hour. What time? What time is it in Idaho?
- 0:58Speaker 1: Well, the cheer they put the cheer into back into
- 1:02Speaker 1: cheerios about seven am.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Yeah, so it's the same. It's a different time zone, right,
- 1:07Speaker 2: it's like nine thirty there.
- 1:10Speaker 3: Yeah, really, uh yeah, look at the map.
- 1:13Speaker 2: All right, nothing Foster Brooks here, and they must love
- 1:19Speaker 2: you in Idaho.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Right, Well sort of. I went to a Chinese restaurant
- 1:25Speaker 1: last night, really, and it's run by two Polish women
- 1:29Speaker 1: and a guy in the back that looks like Jeff
- 1:31Speaker 1: Boyer d with a Michael wave and chunking frozen dinners.
- 1:36Speaker 2: That's what. Well, that's good here. Well you made your point.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Nobody knows what the hell it is, but you made
- 1:42Speaker 2: your point. Thanks for calling. Let's go to rich in
- 1:45Speaker 2: Myrtle Beach. Rich How you doing.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Wow, that's unbelievable some of these people had I had
- 1:53Speaker 3: a comment for you that I have a question for
- 1:55Speaker 3: you about TV and stuff. You know, my father's ninety
- 1:58Speaker 3: nine years old. He did the long railroad from Lockville
- 2:01Speaker 3: Center for thirty seven years. My brother did it. The
- 2:04Speaker 3: MTA and the LI Double R have been ripping off
- 2:07Speaker 3: the public for decades and decades. I saw the cover
- 2:11Speaker 3: the Post this morning. Some of these guys make it
- 2:12Speaker 3: one hundreds of thousands of dollars in all the time.
- 2:15Speaker 3: You know, it's just unregulated, unchecked like everything else in government.
- 2:19Speaker 3: But my question is, when I'm bouncing around Fox News, Newsmax,
- 2:24Speaker 3: Fox Business, even some other channels, why does it seem
- 2:27Speaker 3: every station goes through commercial at the same time, So
- 2:30Speaker 3: you just bouncing between commercials, going between stations.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Well, because believe it or not, there's a whole strategy
- 2:35Speaker 2: to when you break for a commercial and they.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Don't want me to look at another channel or something.
- 2:40Speaker 2: No, it's like we all break it about they're supposed
- 2:43Speaker 2: to break it seventeen after. It's too complicated to explain.
- 2:46Speaker 2: But as far as the ratings, the way they measure them,
- 2:50Speaker 2: it's by the quarter hour, so you get credit for
- 2:54Speaker 2: like one o'clock to one fifteen, that's a quarter hour.
- 2:57Speaker 2: But if we can keep you two minutes into the
- 2:59Speaker 2: next quarter hour, you get credit for another quarter hour.
- 3:03Speaker 2: So you try to break you remember that does.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Like everything else.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Yeah, it's all complicated. There's a radio science remember that
- 3:10Speaker 2: news station goes, you'll give us twenty two minutes, We'll
- 3:12Speaker 2: give you the world.
- 3:14Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I remember when I was on w
- 3:16Speaker 3: GBD doing my Myssitians show, I made the arbitron a
- 3:19Speaker 3: couple of times, so you had to worry about.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Well, did you ever wonder why why twenty two minutes?
- 3:23Speaker 2: Why not twenty when not thirty? It was just the
- 3:25Speaker 2: right period to get credit for two quarter hours in
- 3:28Speaker 2: the ratings. It's it's a boring technical explanation, but uh,
- 3:32Speaker 2: that's why they all break around the same time.
- 3:35Speaker 3: Okay, you know, just hope, Well, I can't believe this state.
- 3:39Speaker 3: This state is gone. These people continue to vote the
- 3:41Speaker 3: stupidest people into office, and it's exactly where you get.
- 3:44Speaker 3: I cannot be happy. And we don't live in New
- 3:46Speaker 3: York anymore.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Right, don't worry, it's coming to where are you.
- 3:49Speaker 3: You're in North Carolina'll be South Colin.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Don't worry, it's coming to you. It's comedy. All these
- 3:53Speaker 2: New Yorkers are moving down there. They'll start to vote
- 3:55Speaker 2: these types in.
- 3:56Speaker 3: You'll it'll unbelievable because they have they vote is he up?
- 4:00Speaker 3: In New York. They get sick of it with the
- 4:02Speaker 3: high taxes and everything else, and they moved somewhere else,
- 4:04Speaker 3: into a wedd state and start voting for the same
- 4:06Speaker 3: super people all the time.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Yeah, it'll come to you. It'll come to you, rich,
- 4:10Speaker 2: Thanks for calling.
- 4:10Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:10Speaker 2: The only good news is this stuff goes in cycles.
- 4:14Speaker 2: The cycle could be ten years, twenties. But I think
- 4:16Speaker 2: the cycle is starting to end. We're seeing it in
- 4:18Speaker 2: the latest polls in Great Britain. The wacky left is
- 4:21Speaker 2: going to get thrown out. We just saw it in
- 4:23Speaker 2: Spain where the socialists are going to get voted out.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Sweden is adjusting towards capitalism. You're seeing it all over
- 4:30Speaker 2: the place. Look at the La Mayor All Race. It
- 4:32Speaker 2: looks like the Republican is going to win. So we
- 4:35Speaker 2: could be at the end of that cycle. Let's go
- 4:37Speaker 2: to Paul in Rosalind. Paul, how you doing okay?
- 4:41Speaker 4: Mark, you were talking to Jimmy Faila the other day,
- 4:44Speaker 4: Jimmy Failey Arson's boyhood home. Would you like to know
- 4:47Speaker 4: who bought his last home on the water. My wife's
- 4:50Speaker 4: boss who she worked with, Sidney Kimmel.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Which home where the one?
- 4:55Speaker 4: The one in Malibu, the one forty one million dollars?
- 4:58Speaker 2: Well, I know Sidney Kimble he bought that house.
- 5:01Speaker 4: Yes, so yeah, Sidney was the he was founded Jones
- 5:04Speaker 4: New York. Yeah, it was a gigantic company from Philadelphia.
- 5:08Speaker 4: He's a great right, that's exactly right. He used to
- 5:10Speaker 4: work for Villagers a sales manager. Yeah, and then he
- 5:13Speaker 4: came to New York and opened Joe's New York.
- 5:15Speaker 2: I didn't know he bought that house. So it's a
- 5:17Speaker 2: beautiful house in Malibu. Yeah, it's Johnny, right.
- 5:19Speaker 4: That's what that's the house he bought for forty one million.
- 5:22Speaker 4: And my wife, Harriet was his receptionist and secretary for
- 5:25Speaker 4: many years.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I heard there was other stuff going on.
- 5:28Speaker 4: Too, and then anyway I.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Get I'm getting. Yeah, No, he's a good guy.
- 5:34Speaker 4: All right, thank you, it's incredible.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Thanks for calling. Yeah. That house, Johnny Carson's Malibu house
- 5:39Speaker 2: is so big when you walk in, the living room
- 5:42Speaker 2: was like three stories high and it goes from miles
- 5:45Speaker 2: the biggest living room in fact, Bob Newhart came for
- 5:47Speaker 2: a dinner one night and he walked in and looked
- 5:49Speaker 2: around this living and goes, so, where's the gift shop.
- 5:52Speaker 2: I mean, it just looks like the the Hilton lobby somewhere.
- 5:55Speaker 2: It's so big, and it has an incredible tennis facility.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Let's go to Neil in Brooklyn. Neil, how you doing
- 6:02Speaker 2: all right?
- 6:03Speaker 3: Uh?
- 6:03Speaker 5: Yeah, I got a a real concern here. What about
- 6:08Speaker 5: when they when they throw away their cell phones to
- 6:11Speaker 5: visit China? What about the nuclear football.
- 6:16Speaker 2: That's a good question. Well, I assume there's nothing in
- 6:19Speaker 2: there that could be hacked into. It's unhackable.
- 6:23Speaker 3: By the way, it's not electronic.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Well that's a very good question. You ask a very
- 6:28Speaker 2: good note. Well, you know what I would imagine. I
- 6:30Speaker 2: would imagine, just like with the phone, they make up
- 6:33Speaker 2: a whole other nuclear football, a second one just to
- 6:35Speaker 2: bring over there, and then when they get back they
- 6:37Speaker 2: get rid of it. That's a good point. Yeah, they
- 6:40Speaker 2: probably do that with the nuclear football.
- 6:41Speaker 4: You know.
- 6:42Speaker 2: The other thing is when you're on this trip to China,
- 6:44Speaker 2: they give you all kinds of gifts. They give the
- 6:46Speaker 2: president gifts, they give the cabinet members gifts. Everybody gives
- 6:49Speaker 2: them gifts. Uh. And when they get to the airport,
- 6:52Speaker 2: before they're allowed to go on Air Force one, they
- 6:55Speaker 2: have to throw away all the gifts because they're probably bugged.
- 6:58Speaker 2: They're probably loaded with all kinds of spyware in them.
- 7:01Speaker 2: So yeah, check out my instagram. There's a picture of
- 7:04Speaker 2: Trump and everybody before they're getting on the plane throwing
- 7:07Speaker 2: all their devices into these big garbage cans to get
- 7:10Speaker 2: rid of them. It's Mark Simone NYC Instagram. One more call,
- 7:15Speaker 2: let's go to Mike and Nutley. Mike, how you're doing Hi.
- 7:18Speaker 5: It's a long time since I spoke to Mark. There's
- 7:22Speaker 5: a golden opportunity for the MTA workers to become heroes
- 7:25Speaker 5: of New York. Instead of striking for a higher wage increase,
- 7:29Speaker 5: what they should be striking for is for taxes to
- 7:32Speaker 5: be cut by thirty or forty percent, because if they're
- 7:34Speaker 5: allowed to keep more of their own harder money, they
- 7:37Speaker 5: would to need a wag increase.
- 7:38Speaker 2: That's a good point. Yeah, you're right. The reason they
- 7:40Speaker 2: need their wage increase is Kathy Hochel's taxes. She taxed
- 7:43Speaker 2: them to death.
- 7:44Speaker 3: You know.
- 7:44Speaker 2: The real argument though, is the MTA wastes probably two
- 7:49Speaker 2: thirds of their money. You know, when they spend a
- 7:52Speaker 2: billion dollars, it was really only for something that should
- 7:55Speaker 2: have been three hundred million. Actually it's even worse than that.
- 7:58Speaker 2: You know, we spend like two billion a track mile
- 8:02Speaker 2: to build subway. It should be like five hundred million.
- 8:04Speaker 2: We just waste money. We overpay for everything, every part everything,
- 8:09Speaker 2: we overpay for by like two thousand percent. So most
- 8:13Speaker 2: of the money they just waste. Absolutely wish if they
- 8:15Speaker 2: actually spent the money legitimately for real cost what it
- 8:18Speaker 2: really should be, they'd have plenty of money to pay everybody. Hey,
- 8:22Speaker 2: when we come back, the greatest columnist in the world,
- 8:25Speaker 2: Michael Goodwin, we'll talk to him next on seven to
- 8:28Speaker 2: ten wor
